Mikey, Eddie, Sky, Sean, Ashley, Boston Rob and Zeth mixed games and relationship comedy with arguments about politics, sports and schools. They reacted to Michelle Obama's convention speech and a possible threat against Barack Obama, then debated whether children should be paid for good behavior and whether a dominant young pitcher should be allowed to play. A listener's breakup text split the room over whether serious relationships must end face to face, while a germaphobe's foot-washing rule and a chaotic P1 Password game supplied the strangest comedy. The biggest sports argument concerned whether Sean Merriman should risk his damaged knee for the Chargers' Super Bowl window, especially after an unverified report that he had been seen bowling.
What happened, in order
The Foot-Washing House Rule
A caller said his germaphobic girlfriend makes him wash his hands and feet before touching her couch or bed, and Sean admitted the ritual was starting to appeal to him.
Michelle Obama at the DNC
The crew played Michelle Obama's convention speech, with Sky praising its family message while Mikey mocked the idea that personal warmth proved Barack Obama's readiness for foreign policy.
San Diego Sports Misery
After San Diego ranked as the second-worst city for sports fans, Mikey and Eddie pointed to the last-place Padres and the city's long wait for a major championship.
P1 Password Chaos
Mikey and Sky swept their P1 Password words, while later pairings survived Zeth's baffling clues and Ashley and Boston Rob's strange but effective shorthand.
Denver Obama Threat
The show described three men detained in Denver after police found rifles, ammunition, a bulletproof vest and suspected meth while investigating a possible threat against Barack Obama.
Too Good to Pitch
The hosts debated a Connecticut youth league dispute after opponents forfeited rather than face a nine-year-old pitcher whose 40-mile-per-hour fastball parents considered dangerous.
Olympic Kick to the Face
A Cuban taekwondo athlete kicked a referee after being disqualified, drawing a lifetime ban but public support from Fidel Castro.
Dumped by Text
A listener's breakup text launched an argument in which Eddie called face-to-face endings necessary for serious relationships while Sky preferred receiving bad news privately by email.
Paying Kids for Good Behavior
The crew debated a Washington, D.C., plan to pay middle-schoolers up to $100 a month, weighing incentives against smaller classes, better-supported teachers and parental responsibility.
Merriman's Knee Gamble
Mikey and Eddie argued that Sean Merriman had to choose between surgery and protecting his career or playing through two torn knee ligaments for a Super Bowl run, while a caller's claim that he had been bowling fueled su

It is... The Democratic National Convention kicked off last night with speeches from Senator Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama. Chargers looked pretty good in their third preseason game, beating Seattle 18-17 on a last-second two-point conversion. Really? Yeah, it was pretty cool. I got to watch a little bit of the beginning of the second quarter, and that was about it. And I was doing kind of some Jake duty last night. But I saw Darren Sproles touchdown. And they were saying, you know, I heard the announcer say something to the effect of it's his night. So I was like, oh, man, I really want to see him play. Yeah, he looked great. I mean, he was, you know, like bouncing around and, you know, breaking off some long runs.
He did a really good job for them. I thought the defense was really shaky. Really? Yeah, they were giving up big runs, big throws, and things like that. Weren't you saying that it was a lot of first team last night? Yeah, they played almost the entire third quarter, all the way into the third quarter. Oh, man. And then the backups came in. Overall, what did you think? I think the defense really needs to go back to tackling school. I think that's been a problem even going back into last year. Remember the Adrian Peterson game? It's like they completely forgot how to tackle. The first time they scored, Seattle scored, it's like Eric Weddle just bounced off the guy, didn't rap, didn't do anything. And so I have a lot of problems with defense first team tackling. So that would be one thing if I were Norv. I'd go back to the basics and be like, dude, you guys need to learn how to tackle. And so that was... I thought Phillip Rivers looked pretty good. I thought the wideouts looked real good. Obviously, they were opening big holes for Darren Sproles. So, yeah, overall, I thought pretty good. So, Eddie was telling us yesterday they play again on Friday. They play again on Friday, and then that's it until the regular season. Yep. Man, it's coming up. Oh, yeah. Regular season's like right around the corner. And I'm excited. Yeah. Sunday's off.
for me. Nothing. I don't do anything. The slate is clean. I don't do anything except watch football on that day. 570-1053. I already have to tinkle real bad. I know. We just started. Really bad timing. I know. It was awful timing. Awful timing. I'm like, well, now we got to go on, you know, for half an hour. You know, at least. Not good for the bladder to hold that in. No, it is not. It is not. Ashley can tell you that. Well, yeah. She has a lot of experience with that. You don't have to go. She has to all the time. You don't have the time. Or do I ever. I love water so much. Well, yeah, and we made a song even about, because of the fact she has a small bladder. Remember the small bladder song? That's a good one. Oh, man. This is an oldie but a goodie, huh, Mike? That's right. Is this helping you, Mike? Yeah. To not think about it? It's actually doing the reverse. It's making me think about it. It's all about it. Oh, weird. Yeah, it got to be an issue with the Mikey show because we couldn't find her most of the time. She was always gone. I would just take off. I wouldn't tell anybody. She would just go.
Oh, where is she? MIA for like 10 minutes. Yep. 570-1053. Text number 35253. Get your calls in. Get your texts in. Let's hook up. Hello. Get your text on. That's right. That's right. Let's go around the room and introduce. Introduce everybody. My name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show. And I now have people asking me gardening advice. That is now. It's your thing. I'm now a garden advice guy. Yep. And I enjoyed it. It's talking to a friend of our wife and giving some advice. Yesterday, another thing that happened at our house was I decided that the color that I picked for the kitchen, I don't like it. Don't do this. Don't do this. My wife was relieved. Oh, she didn't like it either? Well, she liked it when I picked it. You know, because she gave me the option of like five different colors. I picked this one. She said, oh, yeah, that'll be nice. When it went up, it looked just like that. What we have on the wall here, it looked orange. Yeah. I didn't care for it. And so I picked one that's just a darker brown. It's just going to look dark brown. I don't see it around here anymore. I'm trying to find something to show you guys, but I don't see it. But it's a dark brown. It'll be nice. It'll be nice. So that was a thing yesterday.
Let's see. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 35 years of age, and he's on that Charger pregame show. Yeah. And he was on there yesterday. Oh, yeah. Talking about all things Chargers. And a little bit later on, I want to touch on the Sean Merriman stuff. Yeah, that's really what the show was yesterday. Really? It was the Sean Merriman talk. Oh, man. Yeah, that's all anything everybody wants to talk about, man. Wow. And there's a lot of focus and questions turned. towards us on the Mikey show because Sean is a contributor on the show. He comes on the show every week. And so obviously when stuff like that happens, people go, so what's the deal? Now, Eddie's the one that calls him and talks to him and gets him on the phone. He's not returning calls or your texts, right? No, he's either one. He's MIA right now. Well, I mean, he's in actually MIA. He's in Miami getting a fourth opinion. Basically, Sean is going around looking for somebody to tell him, it's okay, you can play. Oh, no. What about TJ? Maybe just send him to a dentist and see how that goes. You can play. Sky is our news girl. Hi. 30 years of age and wears a different brand of headphones. Well, same brand, different kind, different model of headphones than we do.
Much deeper bassier sound. Yeah, they're pretty messed up. Well, when she's spinning them, are they messed up? Oh, yeah, look. Well, Skye, how, oh my goodness. How long since we started together, right? Or did you buy another pair? I think this is my second pair since I've been in radio, so. Once every five years. Yeah, once every five years I buy a new pair. It's time. I don't think it's time yet. If I buy you a pair of the ones I use, will you wear them? That's not necessary. No, but I just want to see you switch. I'm willing to pay if you switch. But I like these. Make the switch. But I like these. She won't do it. They're comfy. They're like little earmuffs. Okay. They're gigantic. I love them. That's right. She shotgunned Tom Kelly. Let's see. Shawnee, oh boy. Oh. Sound effects guy. Sound effects. And yeah. He's our dude. He's six feet, three inches tall. Wow. And wears a white undershirt to work every day. Yes, a white undershirt. Let me pull this over here. Oh, yeah. Don't do that. In the bathroom? Please don't. That's cool. And a lot of people say, why does he talk so far from the microphone? I don't. Well, it sounds like you are. It's because the microphone grosses him out.
He's a germaphobe. Weird, Mike. So he doesn't have it close. Wow. What a job for him, you know? Like a broadcast professional, you're supposed to have the microphone close to you. Oh, yeah, you're broadcasting. You're broadcasting. Forget it. But he won't do it, though, because it's so gross to him. Ashley's our assistant producer. Sky. What's going on with the bangs over there? Oh, it's crazy. What's happening right there? What is it? I think the bangs are a little long. They're in need of a cut. They're swept back. So we're improvising. Is this 1987? Yeah, does she have a quinceañera coming up? For sure. That seems to be the problem. Oh, my goodness. Well, listen, guys. Ash. What? That is really a swept-back Farrah Fawcett look, isn't it? Yeah. They're grown out. Yeah, they are. And I'm too scared to cut them myself. Scared? I wouldn't. Right? I wouldn't. I was, like, debating, and I was, like, I can't. Like, we know people get your hair did. That's right. Yeah. When do I go? Yeah, you should go. Or should I go? Yeah. Well, I go every five weeks. So, I mean, it's coming up. I thought you were going to go, you're fired. It's very Trump-esque. Boston Rob.
He is our guy about town. He is our man about town. And he's 25. He does songs. He does stunts. And he's a writer contributor. He's basically, you know, one of the people on the show. Yeah. I'll take that. I had nothing to do with that garbage they were talking about you on the fantasy football show. I had nothing to do with it. He wrote it in his thing, in his yesterday email. It was like the top thing on his mind. I know you had nothing to do with it. I was sitting right there. What is going on? I thought it was funny. Mike and Brian on the fantasy football show, they were calling out Patriots fans and saying, like, where were they, you know, when they weren't winning and blah, blah, blah. All of a sudden, everybody's a Patriots fan. And Joker's walking around with tattoos on their neck. Like calling themselves Boston Steve and blah, blah, blah. It was really funny. Directly making fun of me. And then so Rob actually calls in. I guess he was listening. Shut up. I was not too happy. Good for you. Good for you, Rob. Rob says he got disconnected. Yeah. Well, his phone cut out. And so it made it even worse. He's the dirt bag. His phone doesn't work. And at first, I think Costa called me some other name. He read the name up there wrong. And then came to me. So I'm confused. I'm like. I think he was just kidding.
Oh, because I was getting text messages being like, do you know the guys on the fantasy football team? Because they're talking a lot of trash right now while I'm listening to it. So my phone's blowing up. It was unbelievable, right? I was really upset, too. The disrespect. It sounded. I can really hear it. Incredible. Wow. And then there is Roosevelt, Zethian Oates III, Jr., Esquire. MD, DDS, Inc. Nice. Now that's the guy who does a lot of work. Rosie. Yes. That's right. He does stuff. He was wandering around the halls yesterday about 12 o'clock in the afternoon, came into the studio. They put him to work. What? Really? Well, we don't have a phone screener for the Fantasy Football Show. And so whoever's running the board has to try to do both. Oh, wow. And so Zed was just standing around. I go, hey, you want to screen phone calls for us? That's what he did. That's awesome. That's great. Zed said it was fun. Good. We had a good time. 35253 is our text and call us, too. 5701053. Hi, P1 Banana. Hi, Mikey. How are you? Good, and you? I'm doing pretty good. I have to go wee-wee really bad, though. Okay, we know. Oh, really? Yeah, real bad. So let's hurry it up. Mike? What's going on, Banana?
Uh-oh. Sean. That's not cool. Sean. Oh. Sorry. Banana. I'm sorry, Sean. Sean. Oh, no. You got even louder. When I turned it on, I'm going to turn your thing on, but don't do that. Thank you. Go ahead, Banana. You were saying how they were giving gardening advice, and something happens to me a lot, because I'm like, in my group of friends, I'm pretty much the only Mexican girl. Uh-huh. And every time I go to a house, You know, I just, I like cleaning. You know, it's not the fact that I'm Mexican. It's just the fact that my grandmother may turn me into a germaphobe. Right. By the way. Nice. But, you know, I go to my friend's house, and every time we have a party, I end up, because I want to, I clean, you know, wash a couple of dishes, ask somebody to take the trash out, and they're like, and every time, it never fails, every party I go to, hey, do you like...
Want to come over? Yeah, it's because she's Mexican. That's the best. What do you say, banana? And I'm like, dude, I got a lot of things to do, and I can't really go clean your house. You should say, you should say, si, muchos gracias. Well said. Wow, banana. And, you know, like, sometimes, some friends I would, you know, some friends that get surgery or, you know, that are... Banana, banana, banana. Question, question. Are you married? No. How old are you? Okay, you would, I'm 22. Oh, man, you're going to have a lucky husband. Yep. Okay, Mike, you listen to this, too, and it's like, my friends make fun of me all the time. And, like, my grandma gives me, you know, trouble for this. Because I'm, like, the only Mexican, like, full Mexican of the family, right? All my cousins are, like, half Mexicans and half whites and whatever. Oh, my God. Really? Wow. That's crazy. And watch this. This is the funny part. Okay. Tell me. I can't wait for the funny part. All the details. The funny part is that my half-white have Mexican cousins. Yeah.
They had kids when they were, like, 19, 20. They're not in college. They got the, you know, the drunk, drug addict boyfriend and husband and whatever. And I'm the Mexican one. And I go to school. I work full time. Right. And, like, I'm in recovery. Well, oh, shoot. I shouldn't have said that. Oh, it's all right. Keep going. You know, I have a similar story to Mikey. Like, you know, I watch. I don't. I really don't drink anymore. But anyway. Oh, that's good. That's good. For another time. But anyway, so. Wow. 30 seconds. Yeah, well, that is a crazy story. So what is your favorite thing to clean and least favorite thing to clean? Oh, fascinating. Oh, my God. My favorite thing to clean would be the kitchen. Really? Me too. Now, are you talking sinks, dishes, or just the entire thing? The everything, yeah. The entire kitchen. Wow. Now, does that include floors? Do you do the floors too? Of course, guys. Would you like coming over to my house and cleaning? Ashley, this is what she called about. Just because she's a Mexican woman. How dare you? Ashley. How dare you? She sounds great. Now the least favorite. What's your least favorite? My least favorite? I would say probably like my bag patio because there's like a bunch of spider webs. Yeah, spiders. How are you with the boudoir? Oh, yeah.
Bathroom area. Is that bathroom? No, I think that's better. The day. The day. The, the, the, the, the baño. The water closet. I'm pretty good with it, too. Yeah, you're okay with the turlets and all that stuff? Well, you know, you gotta do what you gotta do in order to make it clean. Amen, sister. Do you wear those, do you wear those gloves that go, like, all the way up to your elbow? It depends on how dirty the place is. Oh, I would recommend those. Now, what's your rate? What do you charge? Well, no, Eddie. She doesn't charge, again, just because she's Mexican. She's not a cleaning lady. I'm looking for a lady, you know, once a month. Nothing crazy. Nothing crazy. The whole reason she called is to tell us she's not a cleaning lady. That's why she's called. I knew Eddie would go there. I told you. Right, Eddie always goes there. Eddie is not going anywhere. Eddie's doing that. Yep. So, Banana, how are you with vacuuming? Do you like the lines real nice and straight? Oh, that's my favorite. Talk to me about the vacuuming. Oh, my God. I knew he was going to give me... No, no, no. I'm fascinated. I'm fascinated. This is legitimate. Oh, thank God. Oh, he's back.
We were just about to talk about vacuuming, Mike. You hate Mike, so we should probably change the topic. Wasn't that fascinating, Mike? That was really awesome, Banana. Well, listen, we're going to definitely, we've all learned a lesson, that's for sure, I'll tell you. We learned a lot of lessons, Mike, about cleaning. Well, Banana, I appreciate the phone call. Thank you, Mike. Have a good day, guys. You too. I can only imagine. Did you fall in in there? What's up, Mike? Yeah, what happened? Listen, I really had to go. I guess so. Did that get pretty... I mean, there's only so many questions you can ask. We learned a lot. So many ways you can go with that. Her favorite thing to clean is the kitchen. Her least favorite thing is the back patio. There's spiders. There you go.
Well, let's take some more calls, man. I am fired up and ready to go. I am so happy right now. You want Daniel? Yeah, I got a general question for Sean. Oh, get it, Eddie. Oh, yeah, I like it. Daniel, what are you doing? Nothing, just driving home from work right now. Yeah? What were you calling about? Yeah, I got a question for Sean. Go ahead. Um, since it's a germaphobe, what do you do about, you know, door handles and stuff? Since so many people use them, so many people don't wash their hands after the restroom, so many people... Yeah, you should, um... Okay, can you answer? He gets so irritated. Sean gets so irritated with listeners. Uh, yep. Daniel. Daniel. Daniel. Okay, fine. No, dude. Daniel, he's trying to answer you, Daniel, so you just gotta give him a chance to let him answer you. Go ahead, Sean. With the restroom, what I usually do is take an extra paper towel, open the door with the paper towel, hold it with my foot, then wad up the paper towel, throw it in the trash receptacle, and walk out. Oh, you're one of those. Yes, I am. Because sometimes those people miss the trash can, and then there's paper towels all over the floor. Yeah, they do that a lot. And if I do miss it, too bad.
I'm kind of OCD. I can't miss it and not do anything about it. No, me neither. I gotta go get it. Oh, yeah. It's too filthy. P1 Lalo. Uh-oh. Hello. P1 O-A-W. Well said. Text messages, 35253. Hey, Mikey, just wondering if Sean's ever opened a ketchup packet with his teeth. Thanks, that's P1 Amida. Yeah, right. You idiot. Never. Right, Sean? Never. Never. Mikey, how do I become a P1? Oh, good question. You turn your radio down, get to the point, and don't cuss if you call in. You know the rules. Those are the rules. You also get new people to listen to the Mikey show. You listen for long periods of time. And most importantly, you listen exclusively. You listen to the Mikey show exclusively. What kind of fees are you talking about? Annual? None.
You're saying it's free. Free membership. To be a P1. Where do I sign up? No, sign up. Where do I go to take the picture for my ID card? Don't have to. What? If you do those things I just said, you're a P1. That's too easy. Automatically. Nice. Is that it? You pick your P1 name, you're in. You're in the club. And it's a very exclusive club. You'll know who's in the club because you'll see a sticker on their card that says, Mikey Show P1 Army. And you can get those stickers at Cricket. You can also get it here at the radio station. Here's a fun question. P1 Mustang. Hey, how's it going this morning, guys? Good. Hey, when's the next 28-hour show going to be? What? I hate you and your guts. What are you guys? Dude. Mike. It's not even 6.30 yet. What's up with that question, right? I mean, the 28-hour broadcast, that's when we're on the air for 28 straight hours. Never doing it again. No way, Jose. No commercials. It's just us for 28 hours. I need to give at least three weeks to get some vacation time. Let me tell you something, man. I know people that take two days off work.
When we do the 28-hour show. That's what I'm planning on doing. And there's people that also camp out at the radio station. And every year it gets bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger. I don't know what we're going to... I mean, I think we're eventually going to get to a point where we're not going to be able to broadcast it from here. We're going to have to broadcast it from a place where people can come and park their RVs. Freaking Woodstock. It is. Maybe we should just cancel it before it gets out of hand. I'm just, I'm thinking about, you know, everybody here. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. By everyone, I mean myself. P1's Sean-a-phobe is on the line. Hey, guys. Hi. Hey, um, so Sean, I've been dating this girl for about six months now, and I've come to realize that she is quite the germaphobe herself. And I just had a question. When you come into the house, what she makes me do is when I enter her house, I have to go straight to the bathroom and wash my hands and then climb into the bathtub and wash my feet off. And I was wondering if you do the same thing. Can I ask a question? Yeah. How did she have you do that the first time? Yeah. Well, I come in and she pretty much just...
Because she does it herself. And she went in, and I was like, what are you doing there? And she was like, oh, I'm going to need you to wash your feet before you sit on my couch or my bed. Okay, so that didn't really answer the question. The first time she asked you to do it, how did that go down? Well, just like that. She told me that she wanted me to wash my feet before I went anywhere in her house. I'm a nice enough guy, so I... I agreed, and then, you know, I mean, we've been together for, you know, seven months, and it's just become a habit. What is your question for Shawnee, oh boy? If Sean does the same thing when he comes into the house, if he washes his feet before he goes anywhere in his own house. Sean, do you do that? I don't quite understand the feet thing. Now that I'm thinking about it, though, I kind of like that.
Sean gets turned on to things all the time. People will call and they will teach him something that he had never considered. I do kind of like that. I do wash my hands, but I wash my hands all the time. Don't you take a couple of showers a day? Like one in the morning, one at night? One in the morning, one at night, yeah, for sure. That kind of does the job. Yeah, but I do it right before I go to bed so that I don't get anything in the bed. Like mites? Skin mites, or what do you call them? Oh, no. Dude, I mean... I don't know what it is. Seriously. That is, though. Oh, boy. When you live, when you walk around in this world, things get on you. You can't help this. He's getting worked up. He's getting worked up. What are you talking like? I'm just trying to... You're doing anything like a... I don't care. What's up? Norm MacDonald? Norm MacDonald, what do you think? I don't know. I don't know. Are you talking about... What? Like a giant skeeters? What the heck are you talking about? I don't think that's what he means. Why is Sean just shaking his head? Because I don't mean giant skeeters. Because it's a very serious subject. That's where I took a turn. That's where I took a turn. That's where I took a turn right there. So last night was the DNC. Oh, yeah. Dumb chick.
The dumb national convention. Shut up. Shut it up. Democratic National Convention, Denver, Colorado. Shut up. Michelle Obama was... So good. No. So good. My brother went and saw her speak in Tucson. So good, Mike. Oh, man. He just was... Like, they're the perfect couple. Really, if we're being honest. Awesome. Cut eight. The Barack Obama I know today is the same man I fell in love with 19 years ago. The same man who drove me and our new baby daughter home from the hospital 10 years ago this summer. Inching along at a snail's pace, peering at us anxiously through the rearview mirror, feeling the whole weight of her future in his hands. Determined. To give her everything he struggled so hard for himself. Determined to give her something he never had. The affirming embrace of a father's love. Well, then he's qualified to negotiate with the president of Iran. Right? Thank you, Mike. Glad you finally figured it out. Just the man to talk to the Palestinians and the Israelis. Yes. And bring peace to the Middle East. Yepers.
After all, he did inch slowly on his way to the hospital and look in the rearview mirror. Put them in a little car seat and talk to them. That's actually on the resume. That's really nice. Cut nine. The same way he always has. By bringing us together and reminding us how much we share and how alike we really are. You see, Barack... Doesn't care where you're from or what your background is or what party, if any, you belong to. See, that's just not how he sees the world. He knows that thread that connects us, our belief in America's promise, our commitment to our children's future. He knows that that thread is strong enough to hold us together as one nation, even when we disagree. How about that? Inspiring. That's very inspiring. Was Barack...
Not there? Oh, dude, thank you. Yeah, I don't get it. So this was the weirdest thing. So Michelle does her speech and brings the kids out. There are two kids. And via satellite from Kansas City, Missouri, in some random white family's house, is Barack Obama. Yeah. And it's so awkward and weird. Yeah, I don't get it. And I'm like, first of all, why are you with this random white family? In Kansas City, Missouri, which they don't explain. Yeah. And I kind of get why he's not at the convention because they mentioned that, like, it's become tradition that on Thursday they bring the candidate out. Like a grand entrance. Oh, really? Yeah. And so that's why he's not at the convention. But they have this back and forth between Barack and his family. And it's via satellite. So there's the delay. I have the. It's so weird, dude. Cut to all. Michelle, you are unbelievable. And you also look very cute. And listen, I'm here with the Gerardo family here in St. Louis. This is Jim and Alicia and like us. And we've got Hannah and we've got Grace over here. And they've just been wonderful hosts.
the whole time that we've been watching. I'm in Kansas City. Says it on the screen. Malia, Sasha, how do you think Mom did? She did good. I think so, too. I'm not really sure why I'm here. They just put me here. I don't know why I'm sitting in this living room, but it's wonderful people. You're wonderful people. I'd love some more mashed potatoes, please. I love seeing those little girls. It was so cute because, you know, my lifetime, whenever there's been children in the White House, they're kind of more grown. They're already, like, groomed to be presidential children. They're very prim and proper. And this little girl's just going for it, you know, and I thought that was adorable. Well, you're going to see probably what it's like for her to grow up in the White House. Probably. Oh, man.
Very disappointed with the state of politics in the United States of America. Well, polls yesterday were showing, you know, McCain and Obama neck and neck. So it's not a done deal yet, Mike. All right. Well, this is really interesting stuff to me. I really get into this. It's very, very fascinating to see this stuff go down. And Barack Obama. One of these days, we haven't done it yet. I've been threatening to do it for a while, but one of these days I'll get my brother on the phone. He's a big Obama guy. Every day when he leaves the house, he doesn't leave without his Barack Obama button on. Pin. Love it. Wow. His pin. Wore it to my house. And he loves Barack Obama a lot. He supports him. He's one of his people that goes out and volunteers for the cause of Barack Obama.
And him and I have very spirited conversations. That's a great way to describe our conversations. We get jiggy with it. 570-1053 is a phone number. Our text is 35253. And we got a show, man. We got a big show today. First of all, you know B-Rob's new song? Yeah. You don't? Because we probably haven't played it that much. We've only played it a couple times. And so we're going to play his new song. It's about Michael Phelps. Pretty funny. And we got to tell you more about the P1 Hall of Fame. We're going to play P1 Password today. Dr. Phil is panhandling in the parking lot. Don't know why. We're going to do the Eddie B. Rob Olympics today. We're going to talk about it. We're going to talk about what we're doing on Friday. Also, I have an email from a girl who got a pretty heavy text message. Something that usually doesn't happen via text message did happen. And we want to talk to you about that.
We're going to do P1 trivia today for somebody to come into the studio on Thursday because Friday we're out at the Olympic Training Center. YouTube clip of the day is Dr. Steve Bruhl. Mitch Hedberg in the stand-up spotlight. Yeah, this is what my friend said to me. He said, I think the weather's trippy. I said, no, man, it's not the weather that's trippy. Perhaps it's the way that we perceive it that is indeed trippy. Then I thought, man, I should have just said, yeah. All right. my house. And then I'm going to put pins into all the locations that I've traveled to. But first I'm going to travel to the top two corners of the map so it won't fall down. I get a cold sore. I hate it. I put Carmex on it. Carmex is supposed to heal cold sores. I don't know if it does, but it will make them shiny and more noticeable. It's like cold sore highlighter. Maybe they could come up with an arrow that heals cold sores. I hate arrows, man. Don't you?
Imagine being killed by a bow and arrow. That would suck. An arrow killed you? They would never solve the crime. Look at that dead guy. Let's go that way. Waffles. Waffles are like pancakes with syrup traps. Thank you for being big enough to laugh at yourself this morning. Ooh, can you guys hear that? My stomach is making some crazy noises. I think that today's the day for Quiznos to deliver a hot steaming sandwich piled with freshly spiced meat. Did you know that all you have to do is go to quiznos.com and you can have a sandwich delivered right to you? Actually, Quiznos, if you're listening right now, I want a $5 deli favorite, turkey and cheddar toasted with chips, a Diet Pepsi, and a chocolate chip cookie. My name is Missy. I'm at Rock 105.3. Let's see if that works. But for you guys at home, just head on over to Quiznos.com and get your Quiznos delivery there. Works just as well.

You buy Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Overall, not too bad out here. We have one accident. Still working here on the 28th Street off-ramp from northbound 5. As you come up through National City, it's blocking the right lane of that ramp. Emergency crews are on the scene.
And a traffic lawyer has been issued advising you to avoid that little area there. Once you get past that, you're doing okay, though. South 15, coming out of Escondido. Some break nights as well now. Off to 78, off and on in pockets. Down to Via Rancho Parkway. Red Star Freeway is looking great. South 5 looking fantastic. At a motion side to the border. No worries out of the East County and the West. 8, 94, 52. They're moving right along. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Let me tell you, Eddie went in to sleep train, and he's going to get all dialed in. Yeah, I cannot wait, man. I have had the same mattress for easily 15 years. Are you serious? Yeah, 15 years. And so, you know, it's still in great shape. Shockingly, that thing is still in great shape. No. But it's time. It's time for a change. The wife, I have a very firm mattress and she hates it. Yeah. She's ready for a more softer one. Yeah. And I kind of am too. Like I've had back problems, you know, for a long time. So I'm definitely ready for a change too. So it's going to be really cool. Sky, firm mattress for you or soft mattress? Medium. Yes. Right in the middle. Yeah. Eddie likes a firm mattress. Well.
You are going to be so happy when you get on that thing. Well, what's cool is that for people like us who have the different styles, they have what's called a sleep number mattress where you actually get to dial up the firmness on your side. That's cool. So it's really cool. Hey, if you've bought a mattress from Sleep Train and you really love the experience, please call us, will you, at 570-1053. But Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. The Mikey Show continues. Featuring the very cool Mikey. I am not cool. Eddie. I cannot be touched when I'm sleeping. Sky. I am a massage whore, as we all know. Sean. Lately, I've been really obsessed with cleaning in between my fingers. Boston Rob. I love rocking a toothpick, and I never buy them. I get them from restaurants. And Ashley. Above and beyond. No. The Mikey Show on Rock 105.3. Some people call me the space cowboy. Gangster of love. I challenge that. I don't believe that any one person ever called him the space cowboy.
Or the Gangster of Love. Not one time, I believe, that he embellished that. It had to come from somewhere. His brain, I think. Come on. I think he made it out. He would never do that. I think he wanted to be cool. He wanted to be cool. He was like, oh, guess what people call me? And you're like, what? He's like, space cowboy. You're like, really? Dude, that's kind of cool. That is cool. You're like, well, yeah, you know, I'm just so spacey and cowboy-ish. Welcome back. It's 642. Charlie Sheen is reproducing again. He announced yesterday that his wife of three months is pregnant. Sean Merriman says he's going to do everything he can to play in 08 and is in Miami right now getting a fourth opinion on his knee. Team president Dean Spanos says Sean Merriman obviously needs to do what's best for him. Well, you know, right now we're waiting to hear from Sean because ultimately really it's his decision. So hopefully he'll make the right decision. I know he will. I believe he will. And we'll have to wait and see. Is it ultimately? I didn't know that. I thought that ultimately the team made the decision on whether or not their doctors feel that their players are ready to play. Not with this injury because there's so many different varying opinions on what he can do. He can try and play on it.
which could be fine and he could have just a lot of discomfort and pain, which he can play through. But he is also at a much higher risk of doing career-threatening damage to his knee if he tears it up worse. So that is going to be ultimately his decision whether or not he wants to risk that or not. I have the top five worst cities to be a sports fan. Okay. Whoa. The top five worst cities to be a sports fan. Number five, Cincinnati. Oh, well, yeah. I would kind of suck to be a sports fan there. It's been a while. It's been a while. Bengals were terrible for so many years. They lost their Super Bowls. Yeah, terrible friends. Reds haven't won since. They still a team? Late 80s, maybe.
Number four might be surprising. Worst city to be a sports fan, New York. Why? And New York, they say, is the number four worst city to be a sports fan. I'm going to take a guess at this as to why. But I would think maybe it's because the city is so large that it becomes more than just a city. It's too... It's too fractured. There's too many people, and so they can't have allegiance towards one. They got two teams there. That's right. They can't have allegiance. I'm going. Oh, gosh. I don't know why. Yeah, I was kind of thinking because it's so expensive to live there, and I don't know anything about ticket prices, but I'm assuming tickets are probably expensive to those games, too. You know, so that probably makes it suck. And the Yankees haven't won in, what, forever, right? I mean, what is this? It was like decades ago. 26 World Championships. That's got to feel good. Tear down that new stadium, that old stadium. Wait, which one? Number three, they say Indianapolis. Why? I don't know. Colts are pretty good. Pacers, not so much. I'm going to have to read through the whole thing to find out why they say it could be lousy teams or high ticket prices. I'm sure it's comparable to like...
price of living there to ticket prices. You have to see Peyton Manning's face. That's tough to look at. I don't think that's what they're thinking. Have you ever seen him? Yeah, he's a fine looking gentleman. I mean, I see him on TV all the time. The number two worst city to be a sports fan in San Diego, California. How dare you, Mike? Oh my God. I don't appreciate that. No way. San Diego. Wow. I knew. I had a feeling. We're the number two worst city to be a sports fan in. Ouch. I guess based on that stuff, you know? Yeah, well. High ticket prices. I'm actually mad that we're not number one. Yeah. I'm kind of upset. If we're going to do it, we should do it strong, right? Listen. Yeah. How many times. Oh, no. I'm sorry. I'm fine. I won't say anything. No, I'd like to hear it. How many times can I, we all scream. Please, please give us a winner. Yeah. Please give us a winner. You built this dang ballpark downtown where you said, John Moores, yeah, you build me this park. You vote for this, and I'll put a winner out there. Let's take a look and see. No, I wouldn't do that. Yeah, you probably shouldn't. Paper down, Eddie. He's going to build us a winner. What do we got? You probably shouldn't. Where are we in the standings? Oh, gosh. Wow.
We're in last place. Oh, that hurt. 49-82 on the season. Are you sure you don't have that? No, no. I wish I did, Mike. This is going to be over real quick. Unfortunately, no. 49-82. Yeah, we're on pace to lose 100 games this year. Oh, good. And so that's kind of disappointing. Yeah. I feel a little bit lied to, Mike. Yeah. By those Padres. I don't blame you. And then you got the Chargers, who... Hey, man, we're turning it around finally, but there was many years. 1-15. Remember that season? I'd like to win a Super Bowl. That'd be awesome. That would be really cool. Who knows, man? I would like to win any kind of world championship in San Diego. Yeah. That'd be cool. It'd be the first time. Yeah. So I don't disagree. We're not that much different than a city like, I always used to say St. Louis as an example. We're not that much different, but we don't have an NBA franchise. We don't have a hockey team. And I guess we just don't support them, I guess. I guess that's the deal. We're close to Los Angeles, so I guess if we had a basketball team, people would be like, ah, you got the Lakers right up the road. But I would still like to see more. And L.A. has two. Two basketball teams. We got the zoo. I love the zoo. We do have the zoo. The wild animal park. Guys, though, that has nothing to do with the sports franchises. That's right. But it's still me.
Number one city that is the worst city to be a sports fan in is Miami, Florida. Really? I should say. The Marlins. Wow, that's rough. And the Dolphins. They're good. Hello, Ace Ventura. What about the Heat? Aren't they good? I'm sorry, I'm still reeling from that last thing. Well, the Heat were really bad last year, but in previous years, they won the... championship and things like that. It must be ticket prices and things like that. Well, we can always hope for number one next year. We'll get there. We got to work real hard at it. We can do it. We can do it, San Diego. 35253 is the text number. Here's some of the text coming through. Mikey, that's weak. Brock is using his children to win over the hearts of Americans. Mikey, listen to the clip again. He first said he was in St. Louis and then later he said he was in Kansas City. What? Yeah, I noticed that. I didn't catch that. That's awesome. What's your take on a top candidate not knowing where he is? It's P1B man. Daddy, what city are you in? I'm in Kansas City. I'm not sure, honey. I'm in Everold City. St. Louis City. Let's see.
570-1053, text is 35253. This is kind of a strange choice, but apparently the guy that directed The Dark Knight says that in the next Batman movie, he wants Cher to play the Catwoman. What? You're joking. That was a good one. What? That's funny. That's for real. No. Who else? That's a true story. No. Right, Sky? Yeah. Gordon Ramsay's going to play the Penguin. What else are you going to play? What else? It's really what it says. Come on. I know it sounds like a joke. Knock that off. It's the truth. So Christopher Nolan, who did The Dark Knight, you know, is going to be doing another Batman movie, which is reportedly titled The Cape Crusader. But, you know, that's not official yet. But reportedly, that's what it's tentatively titled as. And the original Catwoman from way back in the day started talking about, hey, if they bring Catwoman back, who would you love to play Catwoman? Is that her name? Well, she's an older person now, Eddie. I think she would be a little too aged.
to play the role. She's gorgeous though. Well, you know, certainly for her age, I think she's a beautiful woman, but at 76 years old, I don't know that she's really in the right shape to do it. So the original Catwoman said she would love to see Angelina Jolie play Catwoman, and she thought that would be great casting. And so the director, Christopher Nolan, keeps getting asked about it, and he said that he would like Cher to play Catwoman. He meant the Scarecrow. No. You think that was it? Probably just a mistake and us understanding. His quote is, he wants to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years. So kind of having an old cat woman who's kind of, you know, tore up a little bit. It's got a little chip on her shoulder. Yeah, but Cher would have to agree to that. She never would. Then studio won't let him do that. Although the idea is kind of intriguing.
Hey, good news, folks. Your SDG&E bills are going to rise. They're going to be going up. They're going to be rising. I'll look forward to that. What's that all about? Awesome! Well, SDG&E went to the Public Utilities Commission and said, hey, we need to charge more for our stuff. We're starving. The cost of business is rising. The cost of everything is going up. And we need to implement a rake hike. And the Public Utilities Commission said, thumbs up. Go for it. So expect to see a little bump up on your next bill. Oh, well, that's fantastic news. Hey, don't go away because what we're going to do next is a little P1 Password. Yeah, so give us a call right now. 570-1053 if you want to get in on P1 Password. Basically, we will play for you. And also later, also later. I can answer it. You didn't give me a chance. What do we got? I was going to move on. I was so far away with your questions that you didn't give me a chance to answer. We have free pay-per-views for the UFC 88. Oh, yeah. Is that a good one? Chuck Liddell versus Rashad Evans. Come on.

How fast are you going right now? Really? That fast? So what's your hurry? Did you know that if you slowed down just a little, you'd get better mileage? It's true. If you drove 55 miles per hour on the highway instead of 65 miles per hour, you could go about 30 to 60 more miles on a tank of gas. It's like the story of the tortoise and the hare. You know, slow and steady wins the race. And that also applies to city driving. When you're stopped at a traffic light and it turns green, avoid the jackrabbit start. Don't punch the gas. Back, it is 7.03. Paula Abdul says she's concerned how the audience will accept the newly announced fourth judge on American Idol. You have to wonder about the timing of this. The Chargers give Sean Merriman's backup, Giles Tucker, a five-year extension. Clearly. That's not a name that I'm that familiar with. Giles Tucker, he was an undrafted free agent last year, came in, played really well at the end of the year. Looks like he's going to be an up-and-coming player, but with all the talk about Sean Merriman, his knee, with his contract being up in 2009, a lot of rumors about whether or not this whole knee thing just is a giant contract ploy, it's interesting that they would give Giles Tucker an extension.
not work on giving lights an extension. I want to see what that makes you go. What if we were to do this? Now it's time. Password, yes, it's time to play. P1 Password, yes, it's time to play. P1 Password on the Mikey Show. This is P1 Password. Look. Not as easy as it seems. We're terrible. Nope. We're going to do good today. Yes, today's our day. Well, if you've never seen Password on television, what you do is you're going to get a word and the audience is all going to hear the word. And then two people are trying to communicate with one another. One person cannot hear these words. Only you, the audience, can hear. And one person has to try to communicate those words to the other person.
And they can only use one word to describe that word. And they get three chances per word. So you can come up with three words. Now, the way that you do it is you use your voice. You know, you do it with a little inflection. You know, like maybe you try to use the whole opposite thing by the inflection of your voice. Like, for instance, if the word is cold, you would go hot. Is everybody listening to that? Everybody got that? Got that? And hopefully the person will go cold. Yeah. Right. That's how it works, okay? It sounds easy on paper. It does. Yeah. It's not really the easiest thing in the world to do. It's not. So you've got to get five out of seven. Right. Five out of seven words. Let's get somebody on the line that we'll be playing for. P1 Ghost Cowboy, how are you? I'm good. How are you doing? I'm good. Ideally, who would you like to be communicating to somebody else?
I'd like Boston Rob to be the one guessing. Okay. All right. He's a pretty good guesser. Who, ideally, would you like to be speaking to Boston Rob? Trying to communicate those words. Yeah, this guy's pretty good at it. All right, well, let's draw a couple of names. I have a baseball cap. It's a... What is it? What is this? JC Towing. Nice. Okay. I'm reaching into a JC towing baseball cap, and I'm going to pull out two names. The first name is the communicator, and the second name is the communicatee. The communicator for you will be Sky. Oh, wow. There you go, Cowboy. Nice work. Wow. You got Sky, dude. Rock on. There you go. All right, and the communicatee is Mikey. Oh, no. This is bad. This is sad. How do we do this? Because I'm the one that plays the deal. Oh, that's right. Do we have to reverse it? I guess so. We've got to reverse it, bro. Why? Can't someone else play the deal? Well, he's already seen all the clips, right? I've already seen them. So we've got to reverse them. I haven't seen all of them. Actually, I don't know what's up there. I honestly don't. But how would we do it? How would we do this?
Have Rob playing. Come do it, Rob. Oh, no. I haven't seen it. I mean, we got to be fair here. Rob, are you cool? Switching them willy-nilly. Just page up once and they're on the right-hand side. It's on the right-hand side of the screen. See the right-hand side? Upper screen. Right-hand side of the screen. You see the buttons? They should be down a row like this, Rob. Like two rows. You see them? Yeah. Did you have a certain way? Like, did you just do? Go in an order that you are familiar with. Go in an order that makes sense to you so that you can go. You know what I mean? Yeah. All right. I'm not brain surgeon. I know. This is going to be unbelievable. I'm going to try my best. Hold on. Hold on. Everybody relax. I love this. Are you going to be okay? I'm freaking out. So, Sean, we'll start the timer when you hit the first word. When you wait. Hold on, Sean. Don't do that. I got an itchy trigger finger, dude. Okay. Everybody relax. Are you guys ready? Mike, are you ready? No. Mike, are you ready? Uh-uh. Sky, are you ready? Barely. I'm still not ready. I'm not. Come on. Come on. Come on. You guys can do this. All right. I'm freaking out, man. Sky, are you ready? I'm freaking out. Kind of. Okay. Mike, are you ready? I'm ready. Let's do this. All right. Cut. Incision. Cut.
Got it. Bean. Mexican. Like. Burrito. Food. Pinto. Beans. Correct. Bar. Alcohol. Beer. Establishment. Bar. Correct. Waffle. Pancakes. Syrup. Belgian. Waffle. Correct. Cheat. Lie. Truth. Steal. Cheat. Correct! I just said that's his favorite thing he's done in his whole life. In his whole life. You got married and not a kid. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry.
Oh, my God. We did great, Mike. Dude. I thought we were going to be horrible. You guys probably broke a record. That was so quick. And listen, as you guys know, I'm not good at that much stuff. And so that really felt great. Oh, I'm terrible at it. That was awesome, Mike. That was impressive. That was fun. Let's just end it there. All right. Good job, everybody. P1 Ghost Cowboy, you're a winner. Rock on. It's a lot better than my deal on the show yesterday. What happened yesterday? I mentioned Peyton Manning for the list. Oh, you're terrible. Oh, you're terrible. Take that prize away. Hang on. Top athletes of all time. Top athletes of all time. Peyton Manning. Come on. P1 Jose. Yeah. Okay, you're up next, and I've got to pull a couple of names for you. The first name I pull is going to be the person communicating, and the second name I pull is going to be the person taking the words. Oh, no. Communicator. Yeah, try and pop this. Son of a... Zeth is the communicator. He's communicating to Eddie. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. But didn't you guys do good? Last time, killed it. Didn't they do good? I don't remember. Zeth, you gotta come in here, right? Zeth's gotta come in here. But who was given the words last time? Eddie, do you remember? I think Zeth did. Did he really? Alright, hang on a second, P1 Jose. Zeth is communicating to Eddie. Hang on.
It's P1 Password. Idea is you've got to get five words out of seven. You only get to pass twice. They'll never be as good as us, Mike. No one is. That was fun. This is the best ever. Stop it. Sean. All right, here we go. You ready, Eddie? Are you ready, Seth? Yeah. Here we go. Copy. Carbon. Copy. Here we go. Vegan. No, let's, a different word. I'm going to give you a different word. Pasta. Olive. Oil. Garden. Italian. Food. Pasta. Yep. Smog. Car. Emissions. Fart. This is the word I'm going for. Pass. Okay, here we go. Boat. Water. Oh, smog. Yes, you got it. Water. Rain. Cruise. Ship. Small. Boat. Yep. Boat.
Trim. Pass. Lamp. Eye. Ball. Love. You. Anchor. Tattoo? No, that's it. Did they get one more? Here we go. Desk. School. House. Write. Pencil. Furniture. Desk. Yes! Wow. You did it. You did it. Just seconds to spare. That was awesome. Oh my gosh. Oh, my gosh. So the one you missed, what if he did it the worst together? I love... Mom? Oh. I don't... And then he said anchor for anchorman. I love... Lamp? I love lamp? Yeah, the answer was lamp. That's what he was going. That is the worst. That was terrible. You're better than that. Hey, Jose. You won anyway. Jose, you won. Holy moly. I love lamp. Are you there, Jose? Nah.
I'd love a lamp. Yeah. I don't think Jose is there anymore. Oh, Jose. I don't blame him. Oh, well. I don't blame him. Are you there? I'm right here. Oh, for goodness sake. Oh, there he is. Speak up, buddy. Yeah, you got to speak up, bro. You're a winner. Hang on the line, will you? Thank you. All right, last one is... Oh, there you go. Who's left? P1 Robbie. Robbie, are you there? How's it going, guys? It's going good. Boston, Rob, and Ashley are the only two left. Let's see. We're going to see who's going to communicate and who's going to be taking the guesses. Ladies and gentlemen, the communicator is Ashley. The communicator is Ashley. That is rad. It's you, Ash. You get to communicate. You're communicating to Rob. Oh, no. I love it. I love it. I do not speak her language. Hang on, Robby. They are. Oh, my God. Mike. Hey. This is going to be fantastic. How are my bangs? Oh, my gosh. Can we please get a picture of her bangs? What is that? You're out of hand today, guys. Can you see that in the camera, Sean? Look at the camera. Oh, my gosh. Wow. It's like she's got a bouffant. Yes. Somebody made a salad on her head. It's a straight-up pompadour. It is. All right. All right. Take off your headphones. Oh, yeah.
It's not the 80s. It's going to be really easy. Oh, I know the word. I just heard it. All right. Are you ready, Ashley? These headphones are so weird. I know it. She uses those every day. I use these. I don't know. They feel weird. Okay. Are you ready, Rob? Yes, I'm ready. Are you? Oh, yeah. Okay. So, no. Ashley, how about you? Are you ready? I'm ready. Here we go. The top of your head is like the opposite of Paul Schaefer. Here we go. Screen. Phone. Call. You. Don't. Job. Screener. Yes, that's good enough. Trash. Throw. Catch. Away. Trash. Yes. Serious. Why? Um. You. Uh. Aren't. So. Serious. Yes. Yes. That was creepy, man. Okay. Seth.
Mumble. Hits. Hits. Hits. Bad. Up. Phone. Yes. Tomato. Ham. Hates. Sun. Food. Mustard. No. Button. Don't. Say. Press. The. Back leaf. Button. Yes. Oh my gosh. That was creepy. Holy cow. She didn't say anything on the last one. They only get a minute and a half, by the way. Exactly. That was the weirdest communication. Maybe the worst clues ever. I don't know how. I'm still confused. Serious? Oh, man. Seth is awesome. Seth picks up transvestite hookers. That one's true.
That was the craziest, craziest game of password ever. Wow. 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. Why was Dr. Phil panhandling in the front of the building? I don't know. Why is he here? FBI was looking into a possible threat against Barack Obama in Denver, and I got details to tell you after this. Mikey Show continues on The Rock. You tell the doctor your taste buds are broken. You ate a Rubio's grilled gourmet taco, and now everything else tastes like paste. And not even good paste. The doctor says your taste buds are addicted to grilled sirloin steak, slices of fresh Haas avocado, and a toasted blend of three cheeses. A condition she calls, now you can only eat Rubio's grilled gourmet tacos because everything else tastes like paste. Itis. Introducing Rubio's new grilled gourmet tacos. A revolution in flavor. Try all four exclusively at Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill.

You're probably paying for all that stuff. And you know what? My last wireless carrier before Cricket, I had to be in a contract, Mike. No contracts at all. So not unlimited amounts of contracts? No, no, no. It means no contracts. Thanks for grabbing that, Mike. That's right. And if you want to know more, you can go to their website. Sean. I honestly legitimately believe that William Shatner is a really good actor. Boston Rock. I don't lose all the time and I don't lose in everything. Have you ever won? And Ashley. Combined with my ADD and the fact that I'm just like a social butterfly, I'm all over the place. The Mikey Show's on. Dude, you took a second. You thought about it. Sheboygan. Uh-huh. Rock 105.3. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It's 723. The Democratic National Convention kicked off last night with speeches from Senator Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama. Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson has a partial torn labrum in his shoulder, but Chad says he's all right. Good. There's nothing wrong with me. I need surgery. But it's still not wrong. You do need surgery. I don't know. But you'll wait till when? I'm not going to have it. For what?
You need it, but you're not going to have it. I love the reporter, by the way. Right? They've had it. They talk to him now like he's their irritating little brother. Pretty much. Really? You need it, but you're not going to have it. I'm fine, but I've got to have surgery. Oh, so you need surgery. I'm not going to have it. You need it, but you're not going to have it. Yeah. Okay, so are you going to play? Well, it's a season play. But you're hurt. Yeah. Yeah, real bad. Torn labrum. Oh, gosh. You need surgery. Yeah, I'm fine. Wait. Will you start game one? Yes. I quit. I'm nuts. Not a chance in the world I would go anywhere near Chad Johnson with fantasy football. Heck no. No way. Yeah. You can pay me to take it. You can pay me, actually. Look how much you're talking. Oh, my God.
No, actually, you're right. You couldn't pay me. I don't want Chad Johnson, my fantasy football team. Let's see. Mikey, this is P1 having real tacos for breakfast in my car listening to you guys. Sounds so good. Delicious. Mikey, you guys the best. Ashley's too funny skit was the bomb, guys. She's just too much LOL. Yeah, she has a strange communication style. I do. I don't know how Rob... picked up what you were putting down. I don't know. It's the weirdest thing. And she writes like this too. It's like all free flowing from her brain. There's no filter. Words just come out of her mouth. Creative juices. If the word were heat, instead of saying hot or something like that, she would go feel the... Exactly. And the person, oddly enough, would be like, he? Well, if they know me. I was IMing Rob during the break. I'm like, obviously, we've been friends for a long time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? He gets it. He translates. He gets it. Do you understand the words out? Mikey, that was awesome. Of Ashley and Rob, P1, Willie G. Let's see. That has to be one of the best and funniest P1 password games ever.
Let's get your temperature on this one. Under the armpit, Eddie. Under the armpit. I don't like it there. It's not accurate. It's extraordinarily accurate. Your only other choice is the temple. The temple? I can press the little thing against your temple and pull the little thing. You guys have never done that? What are you even talking about? You just made something up. It's the best. It's this little thing and you stick it against his temple and it... Just sits there for like five seconds, and then it goes 98 point, blah, blah, blah. No way. Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. That's awesome. Oh, it's pretty cool. I prefer the old school mic. Yeah, I know what you're saying. Under the tongue. Right, under the tongue. No. Okay. It's under. This email says, Mikey, my wife and I just had our third kid last month and now have been talking about being done with having children. She, of course, wants me to have a vasectomy, but I want at least to have the conversation about her getting her tubes tied. She won't even talk about it. She says that my procedure is easy. Oh, wow. Now, that's not true. Is she crazy? It's going to kill. How can I get her to talk to me about this and figure it out? It's P1 King Trout. Listen, what do I look like? A doctor? Today, I'm a doctor. Don't you think you're excited about your life? If you're going to talk to me, you're going to have to be honest. This is going to be...
changing day in your life. That little boy has got a t-shirt on that says, I'm Romanian. Did he just yell out, adopt me? That's got to be one of the strangest things. Of course. I mean, he's Romanian. Listen, I was listening to this email, and I find this very interesting how a lot of women think that this is the deal, that it ain't hard for a man to do this and everything. That's a little silly, right, Dr. Phil? Well, it is. It's simple mathematics here, Eddie, is what we're looking at. What do you think is easier, digging around a hot pocket with a couple of meatballs to find a piece of gristle or just tying something in a lot? Wait, that's so weird. Hot pocket. Wow, that's...
Give me a break, all right? Here's what you do. Tell her to remember what it felt like to give birth and then tell her to times that by about a bagillion, all right? You don't know that. That's the pain that you go through when your great pouch gets injured. Now, let me tell you something. How do you know that? I've done both. I've given birth and I've had the vasectomy. If your wife still doesn't understand, tell her to imagine the hurt that she would feel if she had to get a real job and stop being a baby factory. That's a bit hard. That's right. You know, my dog, Mr. Barky Ophido, he's still... I'm sorry, what is your dog's name? My dog's name is Mr. Barky Ophido. Barky Ophido? Barky Ophido. Did one of your kids name him? Actually, it's... Ironically enough, one of my child's names as well. So we actually named the dog after my son, Mr. Barkey-O-Fido. But my dog, Mr. Barkey-O-Fido, still has not forgiven me for giving him the old snip-snips guy. Yeah, it's a little tough for them. They adjust, though. It's okay.
Well, granted, I did it myself with a pair of rustic pliers and a couple of shots of Jack Daniels. That's unique. That's disgusting. Did I mention that part? That's not true. Did I mention that? That's animal cruelty, Dr. Phil. That's not true. I was just trying to help. Well, that's not true. You know, y'all. Okay. My mother and her third husband used to fight about this kind of stuff all the time, like cats and dogs, nonstop. Yeah? Yeah, but they... They soon reached an agreement about it. That is, if you replace the word they with she and the phrase reached an agreement with gave them a Cuban necktie, then yes, they reached an agreement. I wouldn't recommend that. That's not cool. In fact, if I remember correctly, she was covered in that. Oh, gosh. Really? Did I mention that she served hard times at agreement? Oh, okay. That's a lot of finger quotes you got going there. My advice to you is to reach an agreement of your own. Why do you keep using those finger quotes? Or at least threaten to reach an agreement. Threaten. You shouldn't do that.
Do you know that I actually know quite a bit about... in the medical profession, y'all. Did you know that? Well, you were a doctor, I mean. But not a surgeon, so that is shocking. Well, you know, my father was a surgeon, Sky. Is that right? Yeah, he literally removed tens of thousands of kidneys in hotel rooms in Tijuana. I don't think that's... Oh, he was an artist. He was just simply... An artist? Well, he was, if we're being honest with you. I don't think that's a great word. Wow, I wouldn't. I'll tell you what, give old daddy a bathtub full of ice, a block of Wustafs in 20 minutes, and he can get you 10 to 20 grand on the black market. What the hell? That's the truth. I'm telling you the truth. That's illegal. Very illegal. That's a bit much. Let me tell you something here. The person that wrote this email, Dark Stout. Let me tell you something here. I think it was King Trout. Let me tell him something. Just as weird. A vasectomy is nothing to take lightly, okay? Yeah, that's true. When I was in Vietnam.
I was shot down in Laos. I don't remember you being in Vietnam. I found myself alone in a cage in a brutal POW camp in Bong Chuk Ding Ding. That's not a real place. This is about two clicks worth of blam-tuck-ding-bat. Now, let me tell you what happened here, all right? Beautiful day in the summers. Beautiful countryside. It is. It's gorgeous. It is. Dr. Phil, come on. Now, I had some pretty bad injuries while I was there, all right? But one day, a Vietnamese colonel took pity on me, and he sent me to see a surgeon. Uh-huh. Well, he fixed my leg up, and I asked him if he wouldn't mind giving me a vasectomy, too, since he was in the neighborhood. What? Why would you request that? Now, he agreed, and it actually worked until I saw my wife after the war, and she became pregnant the first time we made love. Okay. Oh, no. I'll make the calendar on that one. There is a point to the story, though, y'all. Okay. What would that be? The point is...
Don't ever fly an A-37 Dragonfly over enemy rice paddies at night. That is the moral of the story. I don't know who that is. That is the moral? How does that help our people? Charlie's all scoped up for that, Eddie. He will shoot you down. Sure as Rosie O'Donnell wants extra salt at In-N-Out. You have a screw loose, Dr. Flav. You have a screw loose. Listen, you're off base right now. I'm a doctor. Did you know that? It's in the title. Dr. Phil. And we have a saying where I come from. Saying goes like this. The best way to prevent pregnancy is to watch that awful sex in the city. Wait. That's the same we have. That's the same? That's how it goes. The best, it's kind of like a rhyme. The best way to stop pregnancy is to watch that awful sex in the city. I've never heard that one. And it doesn't rhyme. You'll never want to have sex with a female race again. That's true, but. Great show. Sure, but it'll make all the guys that watch it go gay, and that's a true show.
statement. Shut up already. Thank you so much. I hope I've been able to help today. I'm Dr. Field. You guys get a lot of calls every morning that people pick on Sky or Ashley or giving Eddie or Sean stuff. Every one of you are great. Thank you. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Well, as the season is wrapping up and the kids are getting ready to go back to school, if they're not already back in school, then, you know, there are very few more chances to actually get out to the ballpark and watch a major league baseball team. by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Getting the tougher out of the South Bay this morning. The northbound 5 and the 805 here out of Chula Vista past the 54 South Bay Freeway for a slow run in the National City. 805 stays pretty heavy on you all the way up to around Home Avenue. Bunching up again over Mission Valley up towards around Mesa College. And then it really grabs you for a crawl out of Kearney Mesa from Balboa up towards Governor Drive in the Golden Triangle. West 94 on the King Freeway, that's starting to back up now as well at Lemon Grove from Federal Boulevard to the 805. More brake lights into downtown. The West 8, though, is looking pretty nice here this morning. That's still pretty much a clear shot from La Mesa all the way to Mission Valley. Westbound on the 52, starting to see some heavy traffic here, though, coming off the 125, up the hill to the top of the summit. Things are rough as always out of Escondido. South 15 just crawling from the 78 to Villarancho Parkway. So it was again from Carmel Mountain Road down into Poway. Now you've got some stuff to deal with on the westbound 56 coming out of Penasquitos from Camino del Sur off and on all the way to the 5 and the 5 itself, southbound 5. Here out of the North County, a heavy out of Encinitas now into Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rocco 05.3. There on the state flag, a republic is a place for free thinkers, independent. Maybe that's why Californians have taken a liking to Coors Banquet. We brew Coors Banquet one way, our way.
With only the best two-row high country barley. And only Hockey Mountain water. Well, that smooth brewed it that way since 1873. And that's not about to change anytime soon. If you're a Californian, raise a pint to that notion. Just say, give me a banquet. Brewing Company, Golden, Colorado. And remember, you hold the key. Never drive drunk. Hey, San Diego. Pick up some Coors Banquet for that legendary, smooth, full-flavored taste of the Rocky Mountains. It's another Mikey moment. The Farmer's Almanac says it's going to be a chilly winter. You know, you could freeze to death, dude. Well, no, Mike. You're just worried about your veggies. Yeah, I am. Here's what you need to do. There he is. It's Old Man Baker, you guys. Old Man Baker. Well, here's what you can do. Yeah. This comes at home remedy. Okay. Go ahead.
You put them in between. You get two graham crackers. Okay. Okay. You put them in between the graham crackers. You put a marshmallow in there. Again, sounds delicious. Sounds like he's making s'mores. Yeah. No, we want to know how to keep our citrus. Not how to make s'mores. Hey, welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It's 742. Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan is reportedly courting Cher to play Catwoman in the next Batman movie. Padres get a walk-off home run from Jody Garrett to beat Arizona 4-2 yesterday. We welcome your phone calls. 570-1053. Our text is 35253. And either one is fine. Barack Obama apparently...
The FBI is looking into possible threats against him in Denver. Maybe that's why he was in St. Louis, Kansas City. Yeah, this is pretty sketchy. OK, so, you know, the Democratic National Convention is in Denver. So security, you know, high alert security in Denver right now. And so early Sunday morning, this guy was driving and was pulled over and they searched his car. And in the guy's car, they found, let's see. Two rifles, one of them had a scope on it, a bulletproof vest, boxes of ammo, walkie-talkies, and what they believed to be meth. So, this guy then allegedly led the police to a hotel where another guy, another suspect, was in a hotel room. When the police attempted to go into the hotel room, the guy jumped out of a fourth floor window to escape. What the heck? Yeah. And then there's a third guy who I guess was at another hotel who was also taken into custody. Witnesses say that the suspects do resemble the stereotypic white supremacist looking type of person. But then again, so does that. So we can't really. He's a nice guy. He's a great guy. Looks are sometimes deceiving.
Yeah, so law enforcement in Denver, they're trying to find out if these threats against Obama, you know, really happened or else it could just be that they were a bunch of crazy meth heads, you know, highly armed. They're not really sure, but they have the three guys in custody and are looking into it. Hey, P1 Witch Doctor, what's up? Not much, man. How are you guys doing? Good. What do you guys think about Michelle Pfeiffer playing Catwoman again? Well, I thought she was great when she played Catwoman the first time, but that was like 100 years ago, right? So I don't know if it would be the same. She's still hot. I say my pick is Scarlett Johansson. That's not bad. I love Angelina Jolie. I love that idea. That's a great idea. Because she's a good actress, too. And she's got cat-like features. Yeah, she does. Beyonce. Beyonce? Yeah. Is Catwoman black?
Beyonce can't act. No, but neither is Beyonce. Well, Halle Berry's been Catwoman before. That's true. That's true. Yeah, yeah. Catwoman is black. Why are we even talking about white women? Where do white women act? I mean, I don't think race really matters. Beyonce just can't act. Yes, she can. Austin Powers. The third one. Oh, yeah. She was great in that. I love cold. There was an Amtrak coming to San Diego on Sunday night, and it ran out of gas. What? Right? It runs on gas? I don't know what they run. It ran out of fuel, whatever the heck they power that thing with. GE batteries? Yeah, a couple double A's in there. But, yeah, it was coming from L.A. to San Diego, and the train sat on the tracks in Sorrento Valley for about a good couple hours before they finally had to bring another train in to push the train to its final destination. Is that electric? I don't know. I will not if it ran out of fuel. That's weird. I don't know what I thought. I think the ones that my brother's on are electric. My brother's a railroad engineer. And I think the ones that he does, like the ones that haul freight. Yeah, this was Amtrak. Mark does? Yeah, my brother Mark. Oh, I didn't know that. He drives choo-choo trains. That's what he does for a living. Professional title? Yeah. Hey, do you have his number, Ash? Yeah, I believe I do. You have Mark's number? I think so.
We've got to make sure it's his cell. He says, when I blow him up, make sure I blow up his celly. His cellyo? He's never said those words ever in his life. He probably wouldn't even know what that meant. He wouldn't have a clue what that means. He wouldn't know what blow up my celly means. No. We'll get the official word on choo-choo trains from my brother if we can get him on the line. How about this one? In Connecticut, there's a nine-year-old boy. who's been told that he's too good to pitch. Wait, what? And I think we got my brother. Either that or she's leaving him a message. I think she may be leaving him a message. I see her talking, so that must be what it is. Go ahead. Okay, so in Connecticut, there's this nine-year-old boy who's part of a co-ed league with eight to ten-year-olds. And I guess this kid is a right-hander and has a fastball that tops out at about 40 miles an hour.
For a little kid. I don't know if that's good or bad, but I guess according to the people of Connecticut, this is like crazy. This is way too fast. This could potentially be dangerous, even though none of the batters have ever been hit. Potentially dangerous. So they wanted this kid to not play anymore because the other parents were scared. And the coach was like, no, this is a kid. We can't, you know, we can't take away something from him just because he's too good. That's not teaching a good lesson to our kids. So I guess the last game they had when this kid went up to take the mound, the opposing team walked off the field and forfeited the game. That's terrible. Because he's too good. You know what I would do if I was a coach? I'd pitch him for a few good innings, you know, so he gets to play. You know, I'd pitch him for like. I don't know, five innings. Like a normal pitcher, if they pitch a really great game or whatever, a lot of times you take them out in the seventh inning no matter what anyway. Well, Little League games, there are only seven innings. They are? Okay, so I take them out in the fourth. You know, let them pitch. Yeah. But then, you know, it's kids, so what's a big whoop? Yeah, the other team walked out, so the parents are all upset. They don't think it's fair. They're trying to figure out what to do. Now the whole team may have to break up just because this nine-year-old throws a 40-mile-per-hour fastball.
Hey, I got my brother on the phone to explain what kind of fuel trains run on. Hey, Mark. Yes, sir? What do you guys run those trains on? We run ours on diesel. Oh, okay. So it's just like the same kind of diesel that you get at the gas station? Yeah, that's my understanding. Yeah. I wonder how much. Do you know how much fuel? Well, they tell us on the railroad, on the Union Pacific, that the only railroad... The only outfit that buys more diesel than the Union Pacific in the United States is the U.S. Navy. Really? Wow. Yeah, they burn a lot of fuel, and they're trying to conserve it now as much as possible. For the first time, the cost of the fuel for the railroad exceeds the cost of the labor, which is usually the biggest cost in a business. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, it's high. Well, we were reading this story about this Amtrak train that was coming to San Diego, and it ran out of gas. Yeah, that's unusual. There's usually a lot of checks and balances in place. In fact, on our trains, as an engineer, I have to actually look at least the lead locomotive before I leave to make sure that it has over 1,000 gallons. Oh, my goodness. They burn a lot of fuel. Well, a freight train burns a lot more, I'm sure, than a passenger train because they weigh so much more. But we burn a lot of fuel. Can you imagine what 1,000 gallons of fuel must look like? That's crazy. That's incredible.
Yeah, when you think of it, too, in terms of, well, how much is it a gallon? I mean, even if it's cheap, what's cheap? $4, $3.75? How much is 1,000 gallons? Oh, my. That's a lot. And then, Mark, does it look like our fuel gauge? Like, do you look at a thing that says empty, full? Yeah, well, on the side of the tank, on the older locomotives, there's like a glass. long sight glass on the new ones, it's computer, and it actually tells you how many gallons. So I believe it's to like the 10 gallons. So like you have 4,023 gallons. There you go. 4,020 gallons. Are you in Tucson or are you in Yuma? No, I'm in Tucson right now. Were you home last night? I just got in real early, yes. Did you get to see any of the DNC? You know, the problem with that, Mike, is that a buddy just lent me the first season of Deadwood. And, of course, I'm a junkie. So a friend called and said, oh, Michelle's going to speak. I can't believe it. I was into the second disc of Deadwood. No way. It was a great series. Mark. I don't blame him. In my defense, it's actually a pretty good series. It's awesome. Oh, yeah. It's fantastic. But you missed Michelle Speak?
I figured I could YouTube it this morning. Well, here, I'm going to give you just a second of it, okay? Okay. I'm going to give you just a second of it. Let me see. Cut 10. Brock and I were raised with so many of the same values. Like, you work hard for what you want in life. That your word is your bond. That you do what you say you're going to do. That you treat people... Dignity and respect, even if you don't know them, and even if you don't agree with them. Sounds good to me. Yes, that's been the power of his message from the get-go. It's all those middle-class values that I think he's right on the money. Mark loves them. I do, too. None of that victim status from the past, you know, that's an old... It was the old way, but I think he's right, and ultimately I think that's the only way you'd get ahead in this country. My brother is very persuasive. I like him. Mark, Sky and Sean and Ashley agree with you, and Rob agrees with you because he saw, written in blue chalk on the sidewalk, he saw Obama for change. Is that what it said, Rob? Yep. And ever since he saw that, he's been an Obama guy.
They get me every time, Mike. In fact, I was on the website again yesterday. Every time something new comes out, like when they announce, I got the cell phone text message telling me that the vice president, you know, the vice president. They were late on that. They were scrambling to get it out. It went off at 1 a.m. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, we heard about that. So we were talking about that yesterday, that on the East Coast it went off at 3 o'clock in the morning. So you got a text message at 1 a.m.? Yeah. Were you thinking? Now, where were you? Were you home or were you in Yuma? Oh, no. I was in home sleeping in bed. And did Joanne say, who exactly is texting you at 1 o'clock in the morning? Yeah, there was. We had that conversation. Oh, that's the best. No way. Oh, honey, it's just Barack. That's right. Yeah. Yeah, you said, honey, it's Barack Obama. Don't worry. We're tight. There you go. You had to let me know. We're tight. There you go. All right, Mark. I'll talk to you later. All right, Mike. All right, we'll see. Ashley's always a second behind the actual lyrics. Do you notice that? I don't know.
Like they sing it, and then she does it like a second. 35253 is our text number. Our phone number is 570-1053. And we'd like to hear from you. When we come back, I got more stuff for you. Fidel Castro defends the Cuban athlete who kicked the referee in the face at the Olympics. No way. I didn't hear about it. Oh, dude. I didn't hear about it. Wow. Crazy. This Taekwondo match is going on. It's for the bronze medal. Okay. And it's Cuba versus Kazakhstan. I don't know. Something like that. All right. And the Cuban athlete gets injured. And apparently took longer than the minute allotted time that you get when you have an injury. Okay. So he was disqualified. Right. And that made him so mad, he kicked the referee in the face. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Okay, now are we talking like a graze? No. Or are we talking like full-fledged? He had to have stitches in his lip. Yeah, like Taekwondo kick to the face. Like Muay Thai. Oh. And then after that happened, the IOC and everybody was freaking out and it was like, lifetime ban for him and your coach. No. Wow. And now Fidel Castro has come out and said, we support him. Oh, my God. Good job kicking that guy in the face. The coach was claiming that there was bribery going on and the fix was in. I mean, honestly, I would love to sit down with Fidel and just, you know.
Have a Cohiba and say, Mr. Castro, what are we thinking here? That's not good. That's not good. Can't do that. Speaking of the Olympics, Eddie and B-Rob are going to be competing against each other at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista on Friday. That's where real athletes go to train, so it makes sense for me and Rob to be there. That's right. Well, they've competed against each other for about a year and a half now. They've been doing these competitive athletic challenges. Eddie's dominated. And this time the P1s decided what events they were going to do. And basically what they decided on was they are going to compete in the following events. Talk about it.
Greco-Roman wrestling. That's going to be fun. With the outfits and everything. Can you imagine these two in their onesies? It's called a singlet. I don't appreciate it. It's a wrestling singlet. Jake slept in one last night. No, no, no. That's not what it is. It kind of is. Now, they're going to do that. They're also doing archery. You're going to shoot bow and arrows. Mine's a crossbow, right? Oh, wait a minute. No, it's not Chewbacca. No. It is not a crossbow that you will be shooting. So I don't appreciate you calling that a crossbow. And then finally, they will be competing in the 100-meter dash. I can't wait for that. I can't wait for that. That's going to be good. Yeah. I get tired looking at 100 meters or walking 100 meters. That's a long distance. It is? Well, I mean, you know, think about, remember when we were at the Chargers facility? Yeah. And I ran that 40-yard. Dash. Yeah. That's a good distance. That's 40 yards. See, I don't understand meters and kilos. Celsius. Why can't everybody just do Fahrenheit? Thank you. And feet. Thank you, Mike. Can't we just all agree to that? Someone emailed me and said 100 yards is a little bit longer than a football field. The length of a football field. You are my favorite. Wow. Or 100 meters or whatever that race is. We're doing 100 meters. Ever in the history of loving people. Just to give listeners a visual. Okay.
You're welcome. 100 meters is a little bit longer than a football field. You guys are going to run that far. Oh, Eddie's still in shock over what? 100 meters, right? That's what they're running? Yeah. A football field is 100 yards. 100 yards. I meant meters. I apologize. One meter is equal to 3.28 feet. So if it's 100, then that means it's 320. Eight feet that you're running. He one emailed me, said a little bit longer than football. About 130 yards. What's wrong, Eddie? 130 yards. I can't run that long. Dude, I could not run that. I'm going to be really tired. Oh, my gosh. Can they put a bed at the end of the 100 meters so you guys can nap when you're done? Oh, it's going to be rad. Can you put a bottle of Cap Morgans at the end so I have something to go for? Eddie, can anybody go? Yeah, everybody's welcome. Open to the public. Open to the public. I want all the P1s there cheering me on. Forget Rob. Yeah. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista Friday morning will be broadcast. The whole show. We're going to be out there the whole show. The whole show. It's like for all the people that were so upset, myself included, that the Olympics are over. Yeah. Fret no more. Yeah. Friday. There you go. Keep it going. We got the cure. Yeah. Nice. We got the cure to the after Olympic blues. There you go.
Andy Dick was apparently in Marietta, got involved in an incident, and will not face sex battery charges. Yeah. So I guess this missed our radar because this happened about a month ago when you were getting your surgery, Mike. So I guess that's why we never talked about it and didn't know that this went on. But I guess up in Marietta, Andy Dick was hanging out with some friends and partying at Buffalo Wild Wings on Marietta Hot Springs Road. Yes, it's a hot spot now. Yeah, definitely. I think Leo was there the other day. Oh, sweet Leo. Andy Dick walked into a wing shop in Marietta. Yes. That's the most random thing I've ever heard. Really? That is so weird. Yeah. And so I guess as he was leaving... Eating deviled eggs and carrying a cat under his arms. So I guess when he was leaving, a little after one o'clock in the morning, I guess this place rages all night. He left at one in the morning from the wing shop. I don't know. Maybe it's like a...
Like a Hooters-esque type place, I'm assuming. So weird. Because people were intoxicated, so who knows. Well, as he's in the parking lot, I guess he urinated in the parking lot and then allegedly pulled down the top of a 17-year-old girl who was also in the parking lot with a friend. Are you kidding me? Like pulled down her top and bra so her breasts were exposed. Are you kidding me? Yeah, he just went up to her and like did that. And so the cops were called out. The cops came. They searched him, found marijuana and Xanax on him, on Andy Dick. That's a surprise. Yeah, right? And he was taken into custody. And then I guess the prosecutors have just reviewed the video of the incident. I guess, you know, parking lot video, security camera, whatever. And said that he's still going to face the judge later this week on misdemeanor drug possession and battery charges. But they're dropping the sexual battery. portion of it. He's in trouble, man. None of his friends are... Does he have a mom or a dad or anybody? He'll be in court in Riverside County tomorrow. That's too bad, man. I heard that Margaret Cho was partying at a claim jumper in Hemet. That's random. Now that's the weirdest thing I've ever heard. That's a strange thing. I've never heard that. Maybe that'll be on her new show on VH1. Oh, what's it called?
It's called The Cho Show. No, it's not. I was reading about it. It's horrendous. She does some beautification processes to her lower region. No, she doesn't. Who wants to see that? Some whitening of sorts done and had that all filmed for her show. Obviously edited, but you know. It's like, oh, yeah, I'll definitely set my TiVo for that. Great. Somebody booked me a flight to Mars. Kate Hudson's getting sued. What? No. Yeah, I guess a group of scientists. For that movie Fool's Gold? It wasn't that bad. It wasn't that bad. It wasn't that bad. Don't you go there. I just bought that. Let's get a class action on that. Yeah. You bought it? Yeah, I did. On sale at Blockbuster. You bought it? Three for 20. Oh, that's a good deal. That is a good deal. The previously viewed DVDs of Blockbuster. Look into it, everyone. Are we doing that? Atonement, and I got Fool's Gold. Oh, I want to borrow Atonement. Yeah. I haven't seen it. What is that? I forget the third one, but I haven't watched any of them yet, but I'm going to. Will you make Mark watch that with you, or will you watch it by yourself? I wouldn't make him if he didn't want to, which I'm going to assume he doesn't want to. So you'll watch it sometime when he's not there? Yeah.
That's good. I'm going to make him watch that if he doesn't want to. It's just so strange that Hollywood can make movies that just women want to watch. Sure, sure. Because there is not a man in the world. That wants to see fool's gold. Not a man in the world. I'm Metro. I don't like those movies. I don't like them at all. Terrible. So I guess it's a group of scientists that are suing Kate Hudson. Claiming that she stole their secret to a new hair care line. I guess. Like in a burglar outfit and stuff. Like she looked like the Hamburglar. And went into some. No, I guess these scientists found this new hair care thing that uses volcanic ash and is supposed to be like really good or whatever, some big secret. And so they approached Kate Hudson to help them develop and manufacture and sell and put her name on this hair care line. And I guess they had an oral agreement about it. And then a few months later, Kate Hudson.
took this recipe with the volcanic ash to another, allegedly, to another manufacturer who would do it for a lower cost than the initial scientists. And so now the scientists have filed a lawsuit. It's the weirdest story. Yeah, right. John McCain was on Jay Leno last night. And he was having a little bit of fun about his age. Cut 13. Also, you forgot to mention when I warned the people about the British coming. Right. Have a birthday Friday. Thank you for mentioning that. Again, we were going to have a cake, but the fire marshal said many candles. A few jokes about that. A few jokes. A few. A few. A few thousand. Does that ever bother you that the people kind of... I've got one. My social security number is eight. One. John McCain. Talking about his relationship with newly named vice presidential candidate, Senator Joe Biden. Cut 14. I guess it's part of politics. I've always been good friends with Joe. He has a lovely wife, Jill. And Cindy and I and Joe and Jill have been friends. And I guess it's only 72 days, I think. Who's counting? Thank you.
Is there one that suggested you run as vice president with John Kerry? Yes, and said that I could run on either party and be great for America. We'll keep reminding him of that. Wow. We said this yesterday. We announced this yesterday. American Idol's going to have a fourth judge. Oh, my. Yeah. Randy, Paula, Simon, and who? Theodore. Yeah, Theodore. Cara Diaguardi. Yeah, her. Yeah. Oh, obvious choice. Yeah, she's a songwriter. She is? Yes. It's a real person. Yes, she's written many, many songs. I thought we were doing Mad Libs. Evidently, she's a singer, songwriter, producer. Like, I looked up at her website. Yeah. Never seen her in my life. Hey, Paula Abdul was on a couple friends of ours radio show yesterday, and she was talking about it, and she's concerned. Oh, no. No way. Oh, Paula. That's right.
She was on the John Jay and Rich show. John Jay and Rich are friends of ours in Phoenix. And we have audio from their show. Yes. Nice. So we'll play it for you when we come back and see what that's all about. Also, I want to talk about Sean Merriman. I really want to talk about Sean Merriman. Yeah, there's a lot to talk about. It is because he's thinking about something sad. Even the things his parrot says are insightful. Once, he knew he dialed a wrong number, even though the man on the other line wouldn't admit it. His shirts never wrinkle. If there were an interesting gland, his would be larger than most men's lower intestines. He is left-handed and right-handed. If he were to mail a letter without postage, it would still get there. The Chinese extolled on the virtues of this herb. Recent experiments concurred that...
It can generally rejuvenate and heal the body and is even considered to be an aphrodisiac. What is it? That was a nice story. Oh no, Mike. I think this song was a hit when we were in San Jose. Wasn't it? Big hit. Lenny Kravitz. Welcome back. It's 828. The California Public Utilities Commission has agreed to reconsider changing North County's area code. The New York Giants and Michael Strahan are in talks for him to come out of retirement. My wife will be real happy about that area code thing. Yeah, so they said that we can talk about it. Before it was like, this is a done deal, 760 is out of here, but now they're like, okay, everybody's freaking out, let's talk about it. So there will be a meeting to talk about it, open to the public in Carlsbad on Thursday, September the 4th. Now...
You know, they haven't released the time, exactly all the details, but the website for all the information about this is keep760.org. And they have all the updated info about the meetings and everything. All we have to do is just plug a new area code into our phones. Well, that's all you have to do. But, you know, all the businesses in North County will have to change everything. Oh, no. They'll have to change their websites, their flyers, their mailers, their menus. Just go on the website, highlight. Okay, the website's easy, but what about all their pre-printed materials, like business cards and their menus and all of that? Take a Sharpie or whatever. Hey, that stuff costs a lot of money, bro, Sif. Yeah, but when you call it, doesn't it go, like, get forwarded? Well, it will for a small period of time, and then once that period of time is over, then it's the new area code or nothing. Hmm. So, come on, keep 760. Woo! In other places, what do they do? They got to get new business cards? Well, I don't know. I've never lived through this before. Like, I was around when they added the 858, but they didn't make everybody with 619 change. You know, they just added the 858. No, that's not true. No? Well, it was like split in half. Everybody was 619, and some people had to change to 858. Oh, some people did. Absolutely. Oh, okay. Yeah. I guess my brother was on the side that didn't have to change, and I thought everybody... Oh, well, that...
would have sucked for them. It happens. Well, I don't like it. A lot of people are not stoked about that, but it's like no big deal now. Let's see. Okay, so this P1 Hall of Fame broadcast that we're going to do is going to be one of the biggest things we've ever done, ever. And I would invite you to take the day off work and come watch. It's going to be at Harrah's Rincon. In fact, if I were you, I would invite you to go to the website. And just stay with us that weekend. Stay in the Sky's room. Yeah, that's right. Little mini vacay. Little mini vacay. Thursday night, we're going to play poker. Friday morning, we're going to do the Hall of Fame broadcast where we induct seven members into the Mikey Show P1 Hall of Fame. Awesome. Friday night is Boston Rob's bachelor party out at the pool. Hey, Boston Robby. That's going to be so much fun.
My wife is looking forward to that, man. Yeah, we've already been doing the girly emails of, okay, let's set a time to go to the spa, and when are we going to hit the fitness room, and when are we going to get our pool time in? Like, this is really a little vacation for us. Yeah. Yeah, the girls, the wives, we're all doing that. Yeah, my wife is all about it. Yeah. I don't know anything. Like, you just told me that. I had no idea that was going on. I just want to lay out. You don't want to do the other stuff? I don't know any of this. Mommy is on a budget right now. Okay, Mommy. Well, if Mommy can find the money, their spa is legit. Money right now. Okay. So Mommy's going to just lay out by the pool. She really needs to work on her tan. There you go. So that's my deal. She's talking about herself. Yes, yes. She calls herself Mommy. That's weird. That's right. It's so going to be a vacation. I can't wait. It's going to be awesome. Oh, for sure. Well, here's how you get in on it. You can get one of two packages. One package is $149.99. That will include a seat in the poker tournament Thursday night, breakfast at the P1 Hall of Fame, and I'm talking like,
Buffet style. Hot breakfast. Breakfast. How do you say it? Breakfast. Breakfast. I said it like that too when I was two years old. So cute. That's so funny, Rob. So cute. You guys are so similar. So you get a hot breakfast. That sounds good. You also get... You also get... To hang out with us. We're going to be hanging out that night for Boston Rob's big bachelor party at the pool. Be awesome. Oh, you get the night stay, too. Don't forget. Yeah, you get the night stay that night at? Thursday night. Harrah's, yeah. Thursday night, you get to stay at Harrah's Rincon. That's what $149.99 includes. Poker, a night stay, and a hot breakfast the next morning. Yummy. Sweet. For $2.99, you get two nights stay. Ooh. That's good because that's a Friday night. Oh, that's party time. Good night, man. Yeah, because if you're going to party with Boston Rob and do his bachelor party and everything like that, if you drink, we don't want you to drive. So get that second night. Yeah.
Get that second package. And the rooms are cool. We can move the post party to the room because those bathtubs can fit like 12 people. Every room there is like so, so nice. Even their standard rooms have huge soaking tubs and then huge separate showers that can fit like 10 people. Yeah. Whenever I go to Harris Ring Con, I take like four baths. That sounds amazing. Yeah. It's going to be cool. Now, you go to... The website. Go to MikeyShow.com. Type in the keyword Fame. F-A-M-E. Fame. Fame. And it'll tell you all the details so you can buy these packages. $149 or $299. How big a fan are you? Anybody's welcome to come out to the P1 Hall of Fame induction broadcast. Please. Anyone's welcome to come out to B-Rob's party. Just got to say you're P1. Please. They'll have a giant. Black dude, security guy with a shirt that says security on it. You don't know he's going to be African-American. You don't know that. Not only that, we requested a shaved...
head. You don't know that. We said nothing under 6'2". We wanted his name to be Tiny. He's so big. He's so giant. You go up to him and you go, you don't say that. You say, I'm a P1 and you'll get in for free. I asked if his left eye could drift. That's smart. I said, over 6'2", black guy, shaved head, named Tiny. Shifty left eye. Nice. Lazy. Lazy. Okay. There'll be spots open for the poker tournament Thursday night, and that you'll have to buy into. Right. Because it's for big dough, man. Yeah, lots of money. Skrill. What's the phrase? What you gotta say to get in. Oh, I'm a P1, Tiny. Tiny. No, I'm over here, Tiny. Tiny. What are you looking at? What are you looking at? Why is he looking at the wall? I'm over here. Where you at? Yo, Tiny. I'm a P1. I'm a P1. Go on in. No, no, right here. I'm going in. Tiny. All right, I'll just go. At least you're in. That's Tiny. I take it back, balls. Oh, my gosh.
So you want to hear Paula Abdul on John Jay and Rich's show? Now, Rich is actually Rich Barrett. He used to be the producer of the Dave Shelley and Chainsaw show when he was here in San Diego. Really? That's right. He's a cool guy. And, yeah, they interviewed Paula Abdul, and they were talking about this new judge that Paula Abdul is going to get, or that American Idol's going to have. So it'll have four judges starting in January. Because it's... Not broken. They thought, why don't we fix it? All right. I've had 80 program directors that have done that. I would never do that again, by the way, if we got a new program director. Did you know that? What? That if we got a new program director and they wanted us to do things differently, that I would not do that. Good for you. Yeah, I wouldn't. Yeah, most people would, but good for you. No, we could not do that. Nice. I like it. Here's Paula Abdul yesterday. Cut 44. Well, you know, it's one of the APs. Wow, they're eighth season. Pause. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Eight's a hard word, Mike. Well, it is true. Don't you point the finger. I'm not pointing the finger. Yes, eight is tough. Eight gave her fits? Yep. Seven, eight, nine, dude. Look into it. Let's hear it again. Well, you know, it's one of the eight seasons.
Wow, their eighth season. Wait, come on, man. They always tried for a fourth judge because it follows the format of the original show, Pop Idol. But, you know, we haven't had much luck with that working. But, you know, we're going to give it another try. I am concerned about the audience and acceptance. You know, time will tell. And we'll see. I guess this is just going to be the way it is now. And it's just going to become normal. We'll become desensitized to the fact that this is Paula Abdul now. And nobody's going to ask any questions and it's all good. Andy Dick can be partying in the parking lot, pulling down shirts, eating chicken wings and drinking beer. I mean, it's just you want to go, come on, man. Like somebody's got to help, right? You should hope so. Well, something's up. Well, what I think is weird is in that clip, and the only reason I really know this is what she said is because I also have the transcript in front of me of what she says. But if you couldn't translate, she said they've always tried a fourth judge. Mumble, mumble, hiccup. But they haven't had much luck with it. Barf. When have they always tried a fourth judge? I've never seen them try a fourth judge. I didn't know there was a fourth judge. But she says they have always tried it. Yeah, Phil.
and it's never worse. Phil's been a judge for four seasons. He sits right by me. No, that's the cameraman, Paula. He judges. No. With his eyes. No, with his eyes. He judges with his eyes. So judgmental. He's always judging me. He's always judging me. Holy moly. Stop judging. Wow. What would you guys think if we did this? Now it's time for the YouTube clip of the day. Booyah! You guys know who Dr. Steve Bruhl is? Of course we do. Sweet berry one, I do. Cut 42. Hey, I'm Dr. Steve Bruhl. You ever wonder about what the heck all these kids are doing on their computers all the time? Like my nephew, Josh. I said, hey, Joshy, what the heck are you doing on your computer all the time? He said, I'm making videos about myself. And I'm getting lots of hits. That's what they call it when lots of people go on their computers to look at your computer. So here's my video that I made because I'm proud of my technology stuff. Well, I told you it was good. You didn't believe me, but now you know. So go make some computer technologies of your own. Get out of the house and go do it. Weird technology. A friend, Dr. Steve Ruhl. Well, he's inspired me to go make my own computer technology. He has technologies. I love it.
That's it. That's it. Oh, wow. Oh, my gosh. He is the best. He's the best. So I got an email I want to read to you guys and get your temperature. Under the tongue. Under the tongue. Under the tongue. It's not an accurate reading. Let's see what you guys think about this. Mikey, I can't believe what just happened. I'm sitting here at my desk at work listening to the show, and I just got a text. It was from a guy I'm seeing. He says in the text, hey, Dana, I really don't think this is going to work. You're a great girl and deserve better than I can give you. I wish I can explain. Thanks for the good times, Rick. Can you believe that? Who breaks up with someone through text? That is crazy. I'm fine with it if he doesn't want to see me anymore, but at least be man enough to do it face to face. Am I wrong here? Just thought I would see what you guys think. That's P1 Dana. Wow. Yeah, man. You got to at least call and do it on the phone. I mean, how many times? Right? Yeah. I'm not a face-to-face person. No? No. I think it's unnecessary. Oh, my. I do. Yes, I'm on the phone. I think text is too impersonal. What about email? Yeah, because I've been broken up on email before. Yeah? Oh, yeah. Really? Serio.
What's the difference? I'm so mad at you for saying his name right now. Yeah, we don't know such a person. I am so furious that you just said, if I do that, she Ginsu knifes my face off after the show. Uh-uh. Yes, you do too. I'm not allowed. Only if it's in this situation where it's like he's weak that he broke up with me on an email. Wait, what? I'm allowed to do it if I do it if I say he's weak. No, you're not allowed to do it. Okay, gotcha. You're right. I feel comfortable in this situation saying that that's who it was that broke up with me on an email. Well, that's messed up. Regardless of who it was. It kind of came out of my mouth before I thought it through. I'm going to be honest. I've been there. I can relate. And you do not start. Stop it. But regardless. Bite your tongue. Listen, we live in a... Eddie. You're the worst. Don't say his name. But if we were banned from saying it, then she said it. You are banned. It's a funny word. It's a name, bro. I know, but it's kind of a funny name. It's a great comedy. I just got a new FM Syria. Forget it.
This is delicious cereal. She said cereal. She said cereal. She said cereal. She said cereal, dude. You can't bust her. She said cereal. Then I can say cereal. You can say cereal. Okay. Okay. So about her ex-boyfriend's cereal. No. Is it okay if I say the word cereal? You're crossing the line. I'm crossing the line. You're the one I said. I'm ready. It was a slip of the tongue. Enough. Stop. Now you're crossing the line. It was an honest slip of the tongue. Been there. Okay, so we can relate and move on. Yeah, let's move on now. Oh, boy. People are punching their stereos right now. Get it. Eddie just winked. Yeah, we know what you're doing. Stereo. Because of text messaging and because of email and everything, the culture we live in now is very anti-intimacy. It's very anti-intimate. Yes. Impersonal. I would think...
That's a word I was desperately searching for. I was desperately searching for that word. What did you use instead? Anti-intimate. Anti-intimate. Very close. Congratulations to me. That's what I said. I like that better. Thank you. I would think that if Zeth ever had a relationship, if he were to end it, it would be through. Well, hang on a second, though. He doesn't like talking on the phone. I know that, right? Right. What about text? No, I wouldn't do it over text message. Like, I don't know. There's a point where I got to draw a line. Where would you do it? I'd probably do it in person. YouTube? Why is it necessary to break up with someone in person? Honestly, I got to say this. It depends on the person you're breaking up with. She's crazy. Yeah, if she's crazy, don't do it in person. I support that. Listen, can I say something? I would prefer it be email. I would prefer email than face-to-face. You know why? Why? I would like to have my moment of not happiness alone, please. Oh, opposite. I prefer that alone. I want to do it in front of them for the maximum guilt possible.
so they can see the devastation. Yeah, and really feel bad about it for a long time. But if you make the decision to break up, are you really going to feel guilty? Mike, it's one thing to see Hurricane Katrina on the news, but if you're in New Orleans, wow, that's something else. It takes it to a whole new level. It does. You went Category 2 to Category 5 just like that. You're like, holy moly, what did I just see? Eddie, would you prefer, if you had to be broken up with, would you prefer to be in person or on email or text? Absolutely in person. Really? Absolutely in person. How come? Well, I guess it depends on how long I had been seeing this person. If it was a legitimate relationship, it has to be in person. Okay, okay. I've never had one of those, so I don't know what you mean. If it was just somebody I've seen, yeah, who cares? Yeah, you can call me. Save me a trip. Give me the cutoff time. How many months? Oh, wow. Oh, man. Well, I mean, you know, that's... Maybe how many dates? No, no, no. Let's do this. One month we've been dating. Text, email, whatever. Like a lot? One month. Like you go out once a week? Do you go out every single day? See that? It makes a difference. There's people that you can string along. Wait. Huh? Hey, Robbie. I can relate. You know what I mean? I'm just going to have my breakfast cereal. Oh, yeah. That's delicious. How is your cereal?
Is that good? Okay, wait, I just see what you just did right there. What did I do? I didn't do anything. What is she talking about? You just said you're having breakfast cereal, and then you took a sip of something on your butt, which is cereal. Oh, come on. P1 Jessica's trying to talk already. You're the one. Hi. Maybe it's Malto Meal. You don't know. How are you, Jessica? I'm good. How about yourself? This has been produced since 1958. Okay, cream of wheat, marvita. Thank you, thank you. Malto Meal, you're listening to the Little Orphan Annie show? Yes. It's a secret decoder. Go ahead, Jessica. I'm sorry. How about being broken up by an eviction notice? What the heck? How'd that work? I was served, well, not me. My friend was served with a three-day eviction notice to move out. How about that? By your... Husband. By her husband. Her husband. For her and her minor son, both of their names listed on the eviction notice. To leave in three days. Move out. We're broken up. Can anybody evict anybody or was he like the manager of the apartment complex? No, it was a house that he owns and they live together. That's his wife. And so he put like an eviction notice on the door? Yeah. It's creepy. Hang on a second. You can do that? You can write this down.
That's weird. That's horrible. That's weird. That's the worst. I just know that there's people that are really, you know, I guess Eddie says he wants it in person. He wants the person to be in person. Well, you know, for me, it was just, first of all, I'd like to see. their face when they're doing it so I can see how genuine they are when they tell me it's not you, it's me. Right, right. This is the best. And then, you know, I'm sure I'm going to have some questions and I would like, I'd like to do it in person. I'd like to see what's going on. Now, that sounds good. I mean, everything you just said there sounds reasonable. But? I just would rather have it, okay, I'll write back and be like, okay. TTFN. That's a weird thing to write back. What did I write to you the other day, Rob, that you didn't understand? TFN. TFN, yeah. And you don't want to know what I thought it was. You can't say it on the air. He wrote me back and said, dude, in all seriousness, I don't understand TFN. I went through so many different things. I was like, thanks for nothing. I'm like, I thought the middle one was fool. Thanks for everything.
I could not figure it out. I was asking Seth. I was asking my brothers. I was like, does anybody get this? No one could decipher it. Does it mean ta for now? No, it means... Until further notice? Yeah, of course. I said, I want you to do blah, blah, blah, blah, blah with this. Okay. TFN. Thanks for nothing. And I was like, what a jerk. I'm going to do it. What a jerk. Hey, and by the way, thanks for nothing. Oh, my gosh. I deserve better, Mike. You don't have to talk to me like that. I'm a human being. I have emotions and feelings. You didn't have to spell it out. 5701053. 35253 is our text. I just want to hear from people and know what they think about breaking up on text message. What about a letter? Can you send a letter? Really? Perhaps a post-it. A letter's really creepy. Remember Sky Burger and Sex and the City? What did she just say? Yes, I do. Yes, I do. Yes, there you go. He broke up with her on a post-it. A hamburger? How did he do it? No, the guy, Carrie called him Burger, and they were dating, and they were doing real well, and then out of nowhere, she wakes up one morning, and there's this post-it that says, I can't do it anymore. And she threw the bouquet of flowers he'd given her the day before.
And it broke on the wall. Wow. She was... Yeah, post-it notes pretty... That's pretty impersonal. I bet there's someone out there that has done it over via YouTube or something like that. Like, there's got to be... I think that's the next wave of this, you know? MySpace or Facebook? Yeah, exactly. Which is so self-indulgent because it's not even about the other... Like, you don't even care. It's just all about people viewing you. How creative was I in dissing you when breaking up with you? I just think the text is cowardly. Oh, definitely. Take your medicine. You're going to break up with somebody? You've got to take your lumps. It's kind of law. I wouldn't do it on text, but I would definitely do it on email. And I'll take the cowardly lying title if I need it. Really? Yeah, I don't want to. That person is going to want to at least talk to you. Yeah, there's no chance for them to not really rebuttal. Oh, I would say in the email, I'd rather not talk. That's how you start it. Yeah, that's the subject. Subject line. It's just not working out. That is awful. It really is. Talk about it, Sean. 570-1053. P1 Sandman. Sandman, you there?
Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. Yeah, I just wanted to say, like, if you talk or you say, like, in a message or a letter or anything like that, I just think it's more like you're being a wamp and you're, like, you're trying to avoid this thing face-to-face. I just think it's better if you say it face-to-face. That's why I would do it. I'd be trying to avoid it. For sure. That's what I think. Yeah, it's really tough to do. Right in front of the person. Yeah. It's not easy. Dear Sky. It's not easy. You've done the news for a long time. I care about you very, very much. What's going on? Is this going to be a bad day for me? It's time. I'm writing you actually on a chalkboard. I care for you very, very much. Hang on a second. 24 times 16 equals 349. Wait. Sorry. Just doing some simple math or some bills at home. Really weird. Anyway.
Anyway. Anyway. Mikey, my former fiance broke off our engagement via work email. Oh. Wow. Wow. I support. Oh, Sean. Hey, Mikey, I had a girl break up with me via email. When I called her the next day, she was bothered that I called to see what was going on. Not cool. Well, all the information's in the email. I mean, what else is there to really talk about? Well, some good questions. Hey, Mikey, did you know that in Spanish, serio means serious? It's P1 Lunch Lady Jamie. Why are you so serious? This is a clip we had from the movie Batman. You need to have a talk with her. Whoa, about what? Mike. Talk with who? Skye? I gotta have a talk with you. No, not with her. Not Skye? No. With Ashley? Talk to her about the Joker? I like the Joker stuff. You gotta do more of that Joker. Don't do the Joker. Don't do the Joker, Ash. Unless it's like that. That was a good one. I've been working on it at home. Mikey, I was listening to the Joker thing that you guys did and I just have a couple of questions.
Mikey, for us new listeners, can you please explain why talking about this serial guy is out of line? Okay. I would love to. I was on the air how long ago? Two months. Two months ago? No, because it was right when me and my boyfriend now had started dating, whom I love so much. Like yesterday. Oh, my gosh. And you had, you know, messages. Well, I said his name. The name that is not to be spoken. The name that is not to be spoken. And Ashley mentally checked out of the show. And I was really bothered. So after the show, I went and talked to her. I said, what is the matter? What is going on? Because you didn't know. You didn't know why she checked out. And then, but what happens, well, it used to. It doesn't happen anymore.
But what used to happen is she would check out and then every once in a while check back in, but she would only check back in to be defiant and then check back out again. As a brat. Yeah, so she would check in. She'd check into the show and she'd be like, oh, Mike, I hate your guts. But anyway, and I'd be like, we would be arguing. And so I, and she goes, what is, what? And then. You mentioned him on the air, and how dare you? I told you never to do that again. I forbid you. Well, because I'd asked him, you know, not to, and then he did. And I said, oh, my God, it was such an accident. Like, it was honestly exactly what she did. Yeah, it's true. And so, you know, ever since then. Did you check out? No. No. I've never done it again. I don't want to. I appreciate that. Yeah, and she, you know what I mean? Are you going to go my way? 570-1053. That's a phone number. Text number 35253. You want to call us? Somebody who's on the line wants to ask, what about breaking up MySpace? What about that? Our text, 35253. Our phone number, 570-1053. Join the P1 Text Army. Text Mikey to 35253. Minimum, yeah. I'm telling you that Mac changed my life, and I was practically begging my dad to switch to Mac yesterday, and he said,
Well, I just got that less than a year ago and it cost me $1,700. And it's just a mess. It's just a mess. And I was actually going to suggest that yesterday on the phone while we were all on the phone. Dude. I was like, don't you think you should just. It's time. It's time. Yeah. When you listen to her voice, you're like, is it pop or is it sort of got an R&B vibe? It's on the R&B tip. Is it on the R&B tip? It's got that whiny Alicia Keys sound, which is a good sound. Not that whiny. I like it. I don't think she's whiny at all. I apologize. You know how I've been playing my guitar? I want to learn how to... write music. I wonder if there's like a learn thing or do you just start trying it? Just go for it. Just like making stuff up. Yeah, you do. There's a lot of stuff to help you make. Books. Yes. From the heart, bro. Rob's written so many lyrics, he's right. Yeah, you just go for it, whatever you're doing. You think she read about this song in a book? That's right. Uh-uh. She got broken up with over a text. Hey, speaking of. Oh, yeah? Alright. Did someone break up with you? Is it from Rebecca? This is from P1, Wisconsin. Mikey, who is Serio slash Serio? Excuse the spelling. Is this an old boyfriend or something? I didn't get why two months ago when Mike mentioned it, she checked out. I just heard the checking out explanation, but it didn't really explain who he was. That's P1, Wisconsin. Listen, all I can do is read the emails.
And Ashley can explain. I can explain. It was longer than two months ago because Honey and I have been dating. We, like, just had our seven months. Oh, my gosh. So this one. Congrats. That's cool. Seven months of my life. It truly is. I mean, yeah, talk about it. I mean, it's been fantastic anyway. Journey in concert. We, Sario and I, we used to date. This was, like, when I was 21, so, like, four years ago. And we dated. Probably for like three months. Wait, four years ago? Really? Yeah, I was 21. I didn't even realize. Time flies when it's only a year ago. Wasn't it, was it 2004? Can I finish my explanation? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let her finish it all. I've barely gotten started. Please, stop it. So I would say that we like officially dated for like three months, right? Can you look at me and let me finish? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm going to let you. Don't you start with the looks. Don't you start with the looks.
Yeah, yeah. And this is when I was 21. I thought it was like seven years ago, though, wasn't it? Wasn't it? So we broke up. He broke up with me over email, right? Okay. Well, I was still, like, really into him. And so we kept on doing whatever unofficially for, like, two more years. On, off, I mean, six months. Like, I wouldn't talk to him and maybe I'd see him, whatever. And then it eventually just became friends. And like, you know, because he is like a good guy and I have nothing bad to say about him. So that was kind of the deal. And then we were friends up until I met my boyfriend now. And that's why it was so uncomfortable was because like it was an ongoing on-air joke where like we'd be like, Serio, Serio, Serio. And I had just started dating Mark and he's just like, why do you guys keep bringing up Serio? What's going on? And I had to kind of put the kibosh on this like on-air bit because like it looked weird to Mark, you know. Now, what did I say that was so weird? Eddie looks like really... I think they were having a problem with the timetable, but it's irrelevant. The timetable doesn't matter. Nothing, nothing, nothing. I don't want you to get mad. I remember things differently. Tell me how you remember them. Exactly the way you said it. It is, I do. I don't remember. Maybe I'm an idiot. I started dating him in March.
Three months after I got hired here on the show. So I guess it was like three years ago last March. So three and a half years. How is that wrong? Why are you playing this? Three and a half years? Because it was three months after I started on this show. I started January. It'll be four years this upcoming January I've been on the show. Okay. So how is that wrong? I wasn't saying that. Yeah, I wasn't. I thought you went out longer than three months. Well, that's the whole thing is like we were official for three months. He broke up with me over email and then we kept on like talking like whatever for like years, like two years. But that was nothing like official. I wouldn't even count that like anything close to a relationship. Fair enough. It's not like what you have now. Oh, that. Yeah. I just enjoy. It's beautiful what these two have. These kids. They're in love. It's changed her for the better. That's right. It's awesome. I love her. He's my best friend. Well, that is true. You two are like freaking titties in a bod. I would like to be the ring bearer. You will not be. I will not be the ring bearer. She doesn't even want to think about it, Mike. You want me to be standing next to you. I don't know that you're going to be invited. You want me to be mayor of honor.
She wants you to be standing in another town. No. He's going to do the ceremony. You know what? What we'll do is we'll hook you up via satellite from Kansas City. From Kansas City, St. Louis. And we'll have you view the whole wedding from there. It'll be great. This is terrible. Mikey, when my brother dumped his last girlfriend, he called her and stuck the phone by the toilet and flushed it. And he said... You're dumped. What a jerk. That's kind of funny. Your brother is a jerk. What do you think of that, Rob? That's kind of funny. No. Mikey, 24 times 16 is 384, not 349. Oh. Yeah, Mike. I mean, I think you were joking, right? You weren't actually doing it. Yeah, but I give myself credit for being in the neighborhood. Yeah, you're in the ballpark. Congratulations. Being in the ballpark. Sure. That's great. Well said. Mikey, my sister's boyfriend broke up with her on MySpace. And I drove her to his house so he could man up. It's P1 Peps. Wow. 570-1053. P1 Scooby. Oh, Scoobs. Scoobs. What's up? What's going on? Man, this was a long time ago, but when I went through boot camp, I got broken up over a Dear John letter. That's terrible. That's not cool. And it's weird because your name's Scooby. I know. So who's John? Yeah. You kind of tell us the whole story, don't you? Yep.
Maybe I didn't get broken up. Maybe I opened somebody else's email. Could be. She's still together. She's still waiting. Thank you, Scoob. Mikey, I've actually broken up without any kind of notification at all. You just stopped talking to me, wouldn't answer, or return my calls. Oh, coward. Done that. Oh, yeah. You have? You said done that. We'll disappear an act. You said that. What, you put your invisibility cloak on? Listen, I've heard this. I've heard this, but I didn't know you did that. You know, you've just not called somebody anymore. You know, you just, you know, things just happen. Yeah. Really? And they don't call you? Maybe. I don't know. There's a lot going on, you know? Yeah. This and that, I mean. So you basically just didn't call them back. Who would call them back? You didn't call the girl back. It's called, it's the take the hint approach. Yeah, right? That's what that's called. But we never do, though, is the thing. Yeah, let's, we should write a book. Women and men are very, very different. Women and men are very, very different. Men.
do not feel the same types of emotions that women feel or attach the same kinds of emotions to certain things. That is true. 100% true. Men do not feel the same way about sexual intimacy the way that women feel about sexual intimacy, which is why, there's a million reasons why most of it has to do with my faith, but I always say, I don't think it's a good idea to have sex before you get married. Now, my reasoning is because... I thought you always said hit it and quit it. No, I never said that. I thought that was what Mike would say. I mean, that's what your t-shirt says right now. Well, that is true, but that's only promotional. It's a promotional item. I feel you. I feel you. Freebie. Love it. It's a new show called Hit It and Quit It, new on Fox. It's a new device from Ron Popeil. That's right. No, but seriously, women... Would you ladies agree with this? What? If a woman has sex with a guy, she has feelings for him. She develops feelings for him. Most of the time. Is she sober? No. Who actually is the best? I'm being honest. Okay. Let's take it both. Let's say it will go without saying that if she's intoxicated, she did it simply for the physical act. Sure. Maybe. Potentially. Could be. Potentially.
But let's say she's... Okay. Oh, boy. Let's say she's sober. Okay. All righty. Meets a guy. What's that like? Meets a guy. Yeah. Has sex with a guy. Uh-huh. Do you or do you not develop feelings? Absolutely. Yeah. Guys are not like that. Now, I'm thinking about it, Eddie. Maybe we can give up. Why is Eddie... I'm going to give away some guy secrets. All right. I like it. Don't give them too much. Yeah, not all of them, dude. I don't want to give all of them, but I'll give a couple. All right. You ladies want to know what makes guys fall in love? See, a lot of times women will have sex with a guy because that's what makes them have feelings and emotions. And so they think they know they would be crazy to not attach feelings and emotions to it. And they think the guy's the same way. They know that once the sleeping together starts, the thing that's going to follow is his heart. That's just the way we are. So the guy's got to be like that too. But that's not the way it is. So what is it then? What does make the guy fall in love? I can tell you. I have it in my brain right now. I think I know. I think I know. I think I know. Let's see if I know. All right. Come on, ladies. Let me hear it. The chase.
Yeah. What does that mean? Playing hard to get. Playing hard to get, having respect for yourself, not making your whole world revolve around. Is what makes a guy fall in love? Yeah. Yeah. Being an independent woman. Well, I can't say. Who doesn't give it up on the first date. Eddie's got a look on his face like, what's she talking about? But I can't say, I can't categorically go, well, no, that's not right. It wouldn't be the deal for me necessarily, but maybe there's a guy that would respond to that. That keeps us interested. Yes. Yeah. I wouldn't say it makes us fall in love. Okay. I'll take that. That makes sense. Was that what you were thinking too, Ash? Well, that makes sense. I hadn't thought of that, but initially I was thinking playing hard to get is like what will get the guy to eventually fall in love. I believe that what makes us actually fall in love is appealing to our sense. For a need for nurturing. Oh, I wasn't thinking that at all. Me either. I don't think a lot of women do. I agree. I agree with him. I totally agree. Interesting. I just gave away one of the biggest secrets of men. Like examples. I'll give you an example. I'll give you an example. I love this. First of all, I remember a very specific moment with Rebecca. I was going to have surgery and she sent me a care package that she had really put a lot of,
Care into cookies and homemade stuff and all this, you know, a lot of care had gone into this. And it was very special thing just for me. When women do stuff that appeals to a guy's sense of being nurtured, I don't think guys can even help it. It's almost like unfair. It's almost unfair to a guy. He gets drawn to that sense of like, oh, that feels good. You guys remember the first couple weeks I was going out with Debra and she came to the station and brought me cookies? I was like, dude, I'm all in. But there's a certain line, right? You can't even fight that off as a guy. But there's a certain line. You can overdo it. You gotta figure it out. You gotta take your shots. You have to do it at a time that's appropriate. If a guy gets a feeling that it's inappropriate. If you just show up unannounced and start cleaning my house, I'm like...
I'm good. Banana. I'll do it, but then I'll kick you out. That's right. Guess who's on the phone? P1 Quimby. Oh, hey Quimby. Hey Quimby. Hey Quimby. Hey Quimby. What up? What up? Okay, so one time I was seeing this guy and it just wasn't really working out. So he sent me an email and I told him I would like to have a talk with him. And he immediately wrote back and was like, I know you're going to break up with me and blah, blah, blah. So I just did. and he proceeded to drive by my house the next day and take everything I left in his house and strew it across my front lawn. Oh, wow. Sean, that was really nice. How would you even do that to her? That was very nice. Thank you, Quimby. You're welcome. Bye-bye. Text us 35253. Call us 570-1053. When we come back, a lot of controversy on the pregame show yesterday with Eddie. Before the Chargers game, some calls. Topic with Sean Merriman. Is Sean Merriman okay? Is his knee working? It is 9.32. The FBI is looking into a possible threat against Barack Obama after a man was arrested in Denver with weapons and drugs. The Chargers played their third preseason game yesterday. They score a late touchdown to tie the game and decide to go for two. Talbert now motions towards the backfield. Hester's waiting there as well. Volick has the ball. Fade route. Floyd leaping. The two-point conversion for Malcolm Floyd. That is just a terrific throw and an even better catch. Well said. Chargers win. Chargers win. Chargers. Fantastic. Josh in midseason form already, man. We got to talk to him. Yeah. I want to talk to Josh. He's a good guy. Yeah, Josh. A Washington, D.C. middle school has announced a pilot program that will pay kids for good behavior in school. Yeah.
About half of the middle schools in the Washington, D.C. school system are going to participate in this pilot program where kids will be able to earn up to $100 per month for displaying good behavior in school. So starting in October, about 28 of the middle schools in the D.C. area will be eligible to earn 50 points per month, and they get paid $2 per point. So that's a max of $100 a month. Me and Rob would have owed Ted Grant. I wonder if I could go back to school. Things you can do to earn these points is attend class regularly, show up on time, do your homework. I think I suggested this. Have manners and get good grades. The school is also going to set up a little bank so the money gets deposited in the account. I think I suggested this a while back. Here's the thing. To me, that sort of mirrors life. In life, when you have a job, if you do well, you get a bonus. It's just so, it's something that we never would associate with school. But is this doing well or is this doing what you should be doing? This should definitely doing what you should be doing. There's no doubt about it. Like if you're the number one student in the class and you got, you know, a little prize or whatever, I'd be okay with that. But this, I don't like this. Well, this is why I thought of it. Okay.
Because it bothers me that there's a lot of crime. And I think that the reason that there's a lot of crime is because there's a lot of dumb kids. I really think that. I do. I get it. I can relate. You're talking about me. I totally think there's a lot of dumb kids out there, too. Well, see, here's the deal. Rob, though, you're not dumb, though. Not anymore. Exactly. Wait a minute. Hang on a second, though. Because I want to think about Rob, because Rob is so different. He's very different. He had... I don't know. You're so different, Case. You really are. Bad influences? No, because a lot of the cats that you hung out with are not doing good. You know what I mean? Yeah. And you are. And the reason that you are is because you kind of took it upon yourself. You know what I mean? You're kind of a rare case. Yeah, but when you're talking about dumb kids, you're talking about kids in...
Middle school, getting into junior high, high school. Like, we were a bunch of dumb kids. I took a blank bullet one time and put it in a locker and kicked it shut right next to the principal's office to scare everybody. And, like, it sounded like a gun went off in the school. And everyone cleared out of the office and, like, they were getting on the loudspeaker. And I thought it was hysterical, you know. And I blamed it on some kid that ran down the hall and blah, blah, blah. So, I mean, I was a dumb kid. What were your grades like? Oh, in high school, not that great. In college, I get a 3.75 GPA. Oh, look at this show off. Nice. I bribed the teacher. Yeah, that's all you got to do. Got smarter. No, but in high school, I was like a C student, kind of. It depends what class, you know? Jamma killed it, but. History, I did pretty good. But then there was math and reading. I think the kids that are studying and getting good grades don't usually end up in crime. Sometimes they do. But I think the kids that are studying and getting good grades, the problem is their parents aren't going to make them do it. It's non-existent. So we're giving up on parents. Oh, yeah. Please. What are we going to do? Get parents to change?
I would love to. I'm open to any and all suggestions to get parents to change. I'm 100 percent ready. But if we can't, then I support something like that to motivate kids. Anything to motivate kids, I'm in on. I'm just wondering where this money is coming from, because here in California, it's like, you know, we're losing teachers left and right because there's not enough money. And like, you know, I mean, you're going to pay students. Why don't you pay more teachers? Why don't you get to what? To be there. To be there for kids that aren't going to do anything about it, that are going to goof off and not be there. You don't think that you can inspire a child? With a great teacher? Yeah, and that if you have, you know, instead of a great teacher having to take care of 30 kids, a great teacher taking care of 10 kids. Question. And what does that mean? Let's get better teachers. Okay, so what does that mean? How do we do that? Yeah, I'm not saying better teachers. I'm saying, you know, not as many students. Just start paying the ones we have more? Not as many students per teacher. My mom would have such knowledge on this. Hey, Sarah. She's like, she would. Hey, Sarah. She would. She's a third grade teacher in a very, like, the school is just packed full of kids from broken homes, from all, you know, English is their second language, like all these different situations where their, you know, parents were meth addicts, so they've got it in their system now.
I mean, just the bottom barrel of these poor kids who almost didn't even have a choice. They still have meth barrel on the bottom of all the other barrels. There's a lot of things I don't understand about that. Meth babies. That's what they are. Meth babies in school? Yeah, third grade. Epidemic. Well, it's like their parents were, like, doing meth when they had the kid, and it'll affect you permanently. Like, the kids are, like, seven or eight now, and they're affected by it. So what do you do? So, you know, my mom has to be their therapist, she has to be their teacher, and she has to be their parent because their parents aren't their parents. And she, you know, wishes there was more money in the system, wished that she could focus more on the kids, exactly what Skye said. So what do you think your mom would be more for, paying the kids for good behavior or having another teacher in the classroom with her? That's a great question. I would have to ask her. I don't know. P1 Marcos has an idea. Marcos, go ahead. What's up, guys? Yeah. How about instead of paying the kids, how about we get either a big tax break or a big tax return at the end of the year for good attendance and behavior for our kids? Maybe that would motivate parents. I like that. One other real quick thing, Mikey. I was doing work at a school. I'm not going to name the school this weekend. And I just want to get your thoughts on it. They have a church that they either rent out.
Or they allowed them to have service on Sunday. I'm a church-going guy. I'm all for God, just like you. But what happened to, you know, separation of, you know, church and state? You know, it's a high school, you know, down in San Diego. A public high school? It's actually Bonavista High School, right on the stage in Otay Lake. Is it a public high school? Yeah, it's a public high school. So the issue is that you're upset that they have church? No, no, I'm not upset. I'm not upset. It was just kind of strange. They were actually trying to do all the work in the parking lot, and all the church was in service, and that's the only time I can get to it. So it was just strange to me. Wait, wait, wait. I have a lot of other customers, too, that I do churches for that are now not paying their bills. So now the state is taking over the properties of small churches and re-renting them to that church. But now the state runs the church. I don't get it. Okay, for instance, a small church is not paying their bills or not paying their taxes or whatnot. So the state has to step in because for some odd reason, and now they own the land.
I've never heard of that in my life. I've never heard of the state buying churches. I've never heard of the state buying churches. Well, if you, like, I mean, I know in regards to homes, you know, if you don't pay your property tax, and you don't pay and you don't pay and you don't pay, and then finally, you know, the city is going to have to, you know, do this. How come the bank doesn't repossess it? Well, because you don't pay property tax. Like, if you didn't pay your mortgage, you'd be exactly right. It would be the bank. But property tax. Tax, property tax, thank you, goes to the city. But doesn't somebody own that church building? Yeah, so that's why it's kind of... Isn't it the church? They're supposed to be buying it or something. I know, dude, but don't they have to buy it from the bank just like we all buy stuff? I honestly don't know, Mikey. I don't know how that works. It sounds weird. It sounds strange. And the other thing that I don't understand is like, do I, would I... Would I have a problem with a church using a school's, like, rec room or whatever to hold church at on the weekend? Yeah. I can't imagine why you would have a problem with that. I don't understand. Well, because, you know, they have football practice going on. Uh-huh. You know, I mean, I'm seeing this. You got, you know, their students, you know, being dropped off and picked up. Okay. You know, while church is in session. Uh-huh. Something like that. But to talk that through. They put their little banner up, you know, like an MMA at the beginning of the fight. But, you know, they throw up their banner.
They have their banners all over the school, and then when they're out of session, they take them all down. I would guess that the banner says such and such church, right? You're correct. You're correct. I don't know. I guess his thinking is, you know, if there is a separation of church and state, the school is run by the state, and if a church is on... state property, then there's no separation of church and state anymore. I know it happens. I don't know how they get permission to use that. It's a thing with fire in my mind. You open up too much doors for problems in question. Yeah, I mean, if somebody's really upset, hey, I dropped my kid off and he saw a sign that said West Coast Church. I'm really upset because he saw that sign and he's been throwing up ever since and I can't stop it. We can't stop the bleeding. We've been applying pressure and nothing will happen. Man, we're thinking about pretty soon we're going to air flight him out of here and we don't know what we're going to do. Take that sign down. I don't know, man. Honestly, if somebody got upset, let's say I started a church and I didn't have any place to put it, so I was doing it in some place.
and somebody was doing it at a school cafeteria or something, and somebody goes, hey, I dropped my kid off. I would just want to get into a dialogue about him, you know, like, hey, listen, what can I do to help you? I don't want to upset you, you know, that your kid saw a sign that said the name of the church. Gotcha. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, I have no problem with it. I'm just, you know, I knew it's a topic that, you know, you guys would jump on, and we've been talking about it for a couple minutes now. Yeah, yeah, that's a good one. So thanks, guys, I appreciate it. All right, thanks. I think he did have a problem with it. Well, I don't know why you would, you know. It's just interesting that, I mean, we haven't heard any stink about this happening. Yeah. He was the only one that brought it up. It's been going on forever. I guess. You know what I mean? They've been doing that. This story has nothing to do with religion. Yeah. Interesting. P1 Curtis. What are we talking about? We're talking about kids getting paid a hundred bucks. To do good. To do good at school. The class is being smaller. Yeah, go ahead. Yeah, I totally agree with Sky because when I was in school, I was always in really big classes with like 40-plus people. Wow. And when I actually did get into a class that was smaller, like I was in a class with only 12 people, and it really inspired me to actually do better and so much to where not only my grades in that class got better, but all my grades got better, and I actually wanted to go to college after that too. But when you go to college, there's not 12 people in class. Some are.
There are when you go to college. I've never been to college, so I didn't know that. And I noticed that, too, in my college classes. Like, you'll go to some classes that will be held in a big old, like, amphitheater, you know, and there's, like, hundreds. Theater. Okay, yeah, a lecture hall. And so there'd be tons of people, and I just, you know, I'll just, you know, get a C because the teacher doesn't even know my name, my face, what I look like. I'm just in the crowd, you know. I go to the theater. When I was in a class where there were only, say, like, 15 people, I'd get A's. And is that what it's like? Like most of the classes in college are like pretty small? No, no. I mean, it depends on the college. It depends on what class you're taking. If it's a weekend class. We got to change. I don't disagree. Like I would say if you have a classroom with seven people in it, you're going to do even better. Oh, definitely. But I would think, man, you know, like you're going to be in a situation where there's a lot of people in class. We got to figure out a way to get kids get good grades somehow, you know, but I. Personally, I don't know that it's going to be the parents. Education, education, education. That's Ashley's mom. I thought she said location, location. She says that too. Education, location, and then location, location, location. She says both things. She's got a lot of phrases. Argentina. Phrases, and they stick with me. Question. I have a question. Is Sean Merriman going to play football?
For the San Diego Chargers. Don't upset Eddie. In the 2008 season. All lights out talk. That's all I want to know. I want to know if Sean Merriman is going to play football for the San Diego Chargers. We don't know Mike. We don't? We do not know. How's his knee? We don't know. What does he say about his knee? He says he has two torn ligaments. He says he's got two torn ligaments. That's crazy. That's bad. Uh-huh. Um, can be. Well, it means you're not going to play opening day. No, it doesn't. It doesn't? I don't know any of this. Wait a second. You can have two torn ligaments in your knee. Depends which ones they are. What? Yeah. There's a couple ligaments in your knee. Not that big of a deal. That can be jacked up and you can play football at a professional level with them? Yes. Oh, my. No. Saying that, you also, if you do decide to play, run a much bigger, higher risk of further injuring your knee. Oh, this is not happy. Now, here's the school of thought. The Chargers have a very small window of opportunity. And it's now. The window of opportunity is now to win the Super Bowl, something they've never done before.
I don't like where this is going. I don't like it. I don't like it. Let him finish. Let him finish. I'm getting cold. Now, as a team, you're looking through that window and you go, well, that opportunity, that window is open a pretty good amount with Sean Merriman on the team. When Sean Merriman's not on the team, that window closes quite a bit. Same thing for Sean Merriman. His opportunity to win a Super Bowl championship ring, that window with the Chargers this season is wide open. If he decides, you know what, I'm going to have this knee surgery, I'm going to sit out 09, that window closes quite a bit. So it depends what you want to roll the dice and say, I'm going to play this year and see what happens and possibly go to the Super Bowl and win it. Awful. And maybe screwing up my knee for the rest of my career. Yeah. Or do I say, I'm shutting it down this year, getting 100%, and I'm going to play 09 on a big knee. And beyond. Correct. But my contract runs out in 09. So if I come back, now realize this. If I have my surgery and I don't come back to 100% next year, I'm in a contract year. I'm not going to make as much money. Oh, the worst. But I could play this year, really screw up my knee, and not get anything. I have the answer. Should we call Sean? Yeah, I'll tell him.
And if anybody, this list, because Sean won't call us back. Yeah. Well, he's in Miami right now. He's MIA. Yep. Sean, this is what you should do. I understand. This would be my counsel. If I was his. Concierge. If I was his concierge. Thank you. I would say the money's going to be there for you. I understand it's a contract year. You could potentially, first of all, let's say that you made. which is a ridiculous thing for me to say. But let's say you made $700,000, okay, the league minimum, $700,000, which is ridiculous. You're going to make a lot more money out on the open market, let's say, if you went out on the open market. About $9 million a year. You all right? You okay? It knocked the wind out of it. You okay? I don't know. My advice would be, if you go play this season and you jack it up, which is a very high possibility,
You're going to make zero dollars. Whereas if you rehab your knee, you get back to 100%, you'll probably have a very long career, and you're going to make money one way or the other. Let's not be hasty. Let's not rush into this, and let's not make a decision based on the now. This is not a sprint. We're talking about your career. Your career is not a sprint. It's a marathon. And you're a very young man. You just turned 17 years old this last summer. He's 24. So young. You're a very young man. You have plenty. Let's just rehab you this season. May I be Sean? Yes. I understand what you're saying. Yeah. But my doctor, my fourth doctor, said it was okay that I play. And I want to play. I want to play football. It's my job.
And this is my shot to win the Super Bowl. I believe my team this year will win the Super Bowl. Sean, can I ask you a couple questions? And I have to be a part of that. I have to. It's like breathing. Can I ask you a couple questions? Sure. Agent. What did the first doctor say? He said, well, I should shut it down. Who knows? He could be wrong. What did the second doctor say? He said, I should shut it down. Who knows about that guy? That guy could be a clock. That guy was a clown. What did the third guy say? Hey, well, you know, that guy said I should shut it down. But wait, the fourth guy said I could play. But it's third time's a chance. And that guy's really smart. But I mean, you have to like travel a long way to find. Miami's like the hub of like. Yeah, he had Coke bottle glasses and he was in a Cuban nightclub. I like that guy though. So yesterday, Eddie was doing the pregame show. Let me preface this. Go ahead. One of the things that is being said and bantied about with the Sean Merriman thing. There's rumors out there that are saying that he's upset that the club gave Luis Castillo this huge contract and long-term deal for a lot of money, a lot of guaranteed money. And some people are saying that he felt he should have got the contract first. I don't disagree with that.
But, you know, the Chargers have a lot of deals. Why does it matter who gets it first? Because they have a salary cap and there's only so much amount of money they can get. And they still got to sign Phillip Rivers. They still got to sign a bunch of guys. And so Sean may have been upset by that. And, you know, he looked fine in the first part of training camp. He was out there running around fine. And all of a sudden. Eddie, he did not. I thought. But I'm probably totally wrong. But I thought that early in the first preseason game, he was on the field. No. He was not. Well, he might have been in the first preseason game. I don't remember. I thought that that... It might have been. I don't remember. But he was in training camp, running around. Norv Turner said, the guy looked great. He looked great. Okay. And then all of a sudden, my knee is swollen and it hurts. Right. And so I got to go to the doctor. Right. And all of a sudden now I've got two torn ligaments. I don't know how that helps this case. In fact, if I'm a charger decision maker, you look bad. You're a risk. You're a risk to me. It's basically kind of like saying I'm going to hold out. But I'm injured and I'm holding out without holding out and getting fined. Okay. And so, you know, there's that rumor going around that this is actually all a giant contract ploy. Okay.
And we were talking about that yesterday, and then we got this phone call. Last night I was at Power Fumble, and I saw Sean Merriman bowling there. And he signed my jersey. He signed a couple ads for me. Did you say bowling? Bowling. On everything I wrote. Don't think I'm lying either. Oh, we believe you. Wait a minute. So he actually bowled? He was bowling, yeah. I didn't see nothing wrong with his knee. I went out to him, got an autograph, everything, pictures. Wow. Where were you, Richie? Is this kind of like the... Where were you? I was at Power Fumble. Oh, my goodness. That was a phone call you guys took yesterday. Well, the reason I wanted to hear it is because I wanted to hear if I thought it sounded like a wiseacre. But it didn't. I mean, it just didn't sound like a wiseacre. And as to go as far as to say, yeah, I got pictures with them. You can easily say, hey, send those over. Yeah. Yeah. And so, you know, obviously that just raises a whole bunch of other questions. Could be a guy acting and acting real good. Sure.
pretending that he saw him and didn't see him at all. Or he could have saw a guy who he thought was Sean Merriman and wasn't. Nah, you can't mistake him with the beard now that he's grown out. What if you didn't know? Sean Merriman, you can't mistake him. What if you didn't know? What if you thought it looked like him? Oh, come on. Hey, some dude told me that he was Chino Moreno. I was a big fan of the Deftones. This dude looked just like Chino Moreno. Eddie thought so too. Yeah. And I thought it was for a little while. I don't know. Who knows? Who knows? Sean knows. Scandalous though. I want to know. Bowling? I don't know him yet. I want to talk to him so bad. I want to talk to Sean so bad. Time again in the break if you want to. Yeah, can we? Yeah. Let's go. He could be on a plane, but we'll give it a try. We'll be right back. What's a P1? To improve mileage, come by Chevron and fill up with air. That's right, air. When was the last time you checked the air pressure in your tires? Can't remember? then it's definitely been too long. Did you know even tires in good shape can lose about one pound of pressure a month? And underinflated tires make your engine work harder, lowering your mileage. But don't overinflate them. You can usually find the recommended tire pressure on a sticker located on the driver's side door jamb. And speaking of air, air conditioning is not so hot for your car's mileage either. Whenever you turn it on, it puts an added strain on your engine.
Now, at highway speeds, it's probably better to use the A.C. rather than roll down the windows because of the aerodynamics. But around town, enjoy the fresh air. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com. Is that correct? Yep. Tonight, Hillary Clinton. Hillrod. Hillrod will be speaking. She'll be the primetime speaker this evening. Who cares? Okay. It's not easy. It's not easy. Our text number is 35253. Our phone number is 5701053. Mikey, Merriman lives in Scripps. So if he were to bowl, he'd be in Poway. Mikey, Merriman started the first preseason games. People are a harsh guy. Mikey, he can bowl but not play.
What's up with that? P1 VTech. Calm down, everybody. Mikey, I live in Poway. I see him there a lot. He's a really cool guy. P1 Eddie fan. Well, that's what we got. He could have been at the alley and not, like, participating in the actual bowling. But didn't the caller say he saw the bowling? Maybe he wasn't even there. Oh, yeah. Good point. Or maybe he was. Ash, you can say all that. Okay. That's a lot to type. So I just spoke with, I believe, a general manager at Poway Fun Bowl. And I asked her if she or any one of her co-workers had seen Sean Merriman come in and bowl recently, yesterday or past couple days. And she put me on hold for like maybe two minutes. And then she came back and she said she could give me an answer to that in an hour. And I asked her why not now. She said she's not allowed to give me an answer.
Without disclosure. And I asked her if she could come on the air and say that. And she said, I can give you an answer in an hour. And that was all she would say. So I gave her my inside line. And that's that. I think that answers the question. No, no, no. Maybe she can't say no. She's not allowed to say no. Why? Why would she not be able to say no? Because if the policy is if anybody from the media calls. Do not answer any questions. It doesn't matter what it is. Well, but wouldn't she have known that from the get-go? Why would she need to put Ashley on hold to figure out what their policy is? Because she's afraid. What? You're on the radio? We're going to be doing something on the radio? I don't know. Hang on. I've got to ask my manager. No, she was the manager. That's what I'm saying. So she's asking who? Herself. I was speaking to the manager. So who's she getting disclosure from? The shoe guy. I was speaking to the manager, and she said that she's not allowed to give the answer without... Disclosure. I don't know what that means. I don't either. I was a movie with Michael Douglas and Demi Moore. It's not good. It was not good. He said that was indecent exposure. Sexual harassment. That's what it was about. I know that's different too. That's when we worked at KCBQ. Anyway, she's going to call me back. Anyway. Well, we'll see.
Maybe she calls you back. She goes, no. Now, I hate to even make this comparison. Oh, Eddie, don't do it. Hold on. And it really isn't even a comparison. I'm just going to say that this may remind some folks of a certain quarterback who played here in San Diego who was supposed to be injured and was spotted out on the golf course. Oh, no. And playing flag football. And that man's name was Ryan Leaf. Really? Really? Yes. Now, what was that all about? Well, Ryan Leaf was supposed to be injured at one point in his storied career. Yeah. And while he was injured, finger quotes, he was out golfing. It was a shoulder injury, I believe, or back. But do we know what that was about? Was it a contract thing? Ryan Leaf was crazy. And that's all it was? That's crazy.
He had a lot of problems. I hope that it's not like that. I hope that Sean is, well, I don't hope that he's really injured, but I hope that he's got something going on up and up, and I hope that everything gets worked out, and I want him to play for the San Diego Chargers, and I want us to win the Super Bowl. Is that too much to ask? It's not, Eddie. It's not. It's not. Eddie, did you call him? Yeah. What did he say? What's he doing? Playing pool? You know, I get soccer. I talk to his voicemail. You talk to his voicemail. Well, Sean is supposed to be our... I'm just having fun, man. Sean's supposed to be our weekly contributor this season. So we'll see. Yeah. Well, you know, hey. He's a little busy right now. I'm sure he could be on a plane coming back here. He's MIA. Do you know who's talking?
The Giants and Michael Strahan. They may be collecting a paycheck again. I told you yesterday about, you know, Ussi Uminura. Oh, yes. Being lost for the season. And the Giants are now freaking out and trying to get Michael Strahan to come out of retirement. I thought he retired. He did retire. But as we know, sometimes you retire and then you unretire, Mike. And you can still be handsome about it. Sometimes you just graduate. Not retiring. Okay, fine. That does happen. Is that Michael Strahan? No, no. That was a guy who used to play in San Diego. Oh, the 5'5". Yeah, the old 5'. I'm graduating today. He's graduating. Number 55. Yeah, who's that? Number 55. That's Junior Seau. He has a restaurant. That's true. I've eaten there. I almost cried. Have you ever had that mama sales teriyaki? No, I haven't. Sounds good. Sounds deep-ish. Love your mouth. Thank you. Thanks, brother. Tom Brady says he's going to be good to go for the season opener. There it is. Talk about it. I like it. Feeling better, Robbie? A little bit. What's his problem? What's the matter with him? He has a foot injury.
Like what kind? On the toe? Yeah, like Kim Kardashian. What are we talking about? He actually cut his foot on Kim Kardashian. Oh, no. That's so weird. That's the weirdest thing in the world. How ironic. It's hard to do because she's curvy instead of sharp. He had to really keep scraping his foot against her before it actually cut him. But this may be bad news for you, Rob. Peyton Manning is officially back. He's going to practice for the first time today. Hopefully he's rusty. Probably not. Yeah. Well, he's been in that system for a long time. Let's see. Said no comment from Rob. Yeah. Nothing to say there. He's a total liar. Stumped him. You know how many protesters they arrested at the Democratic National Convention? Take a guess. Well, meat is murder. It is. Where'd you eat your dog? Where'd you eat your cat? Coleslaw is murder. Yeah, coleslaw. That's really the deal. Coleslaw is murder. Is murder. I will guess.
15 protesters. Boston Rob. 35. Ashley. 200. Zethian Oates. What was it? How many protesters arrested at the DNC? 250. Sean. I will say 50, Mike. Sean is the closest. 100 protesters were arrested last night at the Democratic National Convention. Wow. Yeah, the police tried to break up a crowd of protesters because I guess they were messing up traffic in the area. It wouldn't surprise me if Tom Morello was in there. That's right. He just had to be there. Him and Martin Sheen. And in one news video clip, it actually shows one group of protesters after like the police had showed up and tried to, you know, do some crowd control. One group of protesters actually counting down in unison to 10, you know, from 10 to 1 and then charging.
At the police. Oh, boy. He didn't get killed. Yeah, I guess the protesters quickly retreated as the police started shoving them back. Some protesters were throwing bags containing colored liquid at the police. That's smart. Two of the protesters, when asked, you know, what are you protesting, described themselves as anti-capitalists and also were there protesting ecological devastation. In other words, they don't know why they're there. Ted Kennedy, cut one. I have come here tonight to stand with you, to change America, to restore its future, to rise to our best ideals, and to elect Barack Obama president of the United States. To drive your interchipper acquittal, and get away with it. I was scared. Yeah, it was a really big deal that he spoke last night because he wasn't really expected to. He was going to definitely be there, but said most likely he wasn't going to speak, you know, because of the brain tumor and he's like really sick and stuff. But he got up there and gave a great speech and the crowd was just really touched. You could tell. Cut four. This November, the torch will be passed again. So will the gas. To a new generation of Americans.
So with Barack Obama and for you and for me, our country will be committed to his cause. The work begins anew. The hope rises again. Stop saying cliches. Go Sox. Anything that guy says, I'll do. Wow, that's weird. The Kennedy's the... Best president ever, JFK, right? We can all agree on that. Listen, Rob's from Massachusetts. I'm telling you. What couldn't they accomplish? Anything associated is the best. I'm partial to Grover Cleveland myself. He's my second favorite. I'm a Garfield guy. The comic, not the president. Oh, well, I support that best. The lasagna? Odie is running me.
I don't know that I know if Boston Rob is Democrat, Republican. I don't know if we've ever asked you that. Yeah. Are you nothing? I was registered green when I first could vote. Because I just thought it was a funny color. Well, because of the green manster. Yeah. And then, I don't know. I think I'm Democrat now because I'm young, but when I get older. What? Say that. But KFK was my favorite president. I love the Kennedys. When you're an adult, you'll become Republican. When you finally grow up. If I had a billion dollars, heck yeah, I'm Republican. I would keep my money. I'm just going to be honest. I'm poor as dirt now, so Democratic all the way. You should be speaking at the convention. You've got a lot of good stuff. That's right. 570-1053. Oh, you are a nut. If you want to give us a call. But you know what? We've got to do this. Always a second off. 570. 1053. It works just like the Dumb Chick Challenge. We're trying to get to five points. Now, the winner will come in on Thursday. Not Friday. Friday, we're not here. Anybody can come Friday. Yeah, anybody can come out to the show on Friday because we're going to be broadcasting live from the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. Come on, Johnny! Gold medalist, you're looking at him. I'm not.
Eddie B. Robb Olympic Challenge on Friday. There's only going to be two of us and you're still going to win the bronze. That's second place, right? No. It is not. Platinum? Top three. I'm going for platinum. Aluminum. I'll take that. You can recycle that. 570-1053 is the phone number. Let's see. P1 Marcus, how are you? What's up, Mikey? How you doing, man? Good. Marcus, haven't you come in before? Yeah, about a good year ago. Okay. How old are you now? 16. Look at that. Right? 16. I know. That's a lie. You're a grown man. Came in last year when I was 15. I'm a junior in high school now, bro, so I thought I'd come in there and show you how to arm wrestle. I'll bring in the beer. Marcus, how long have you been listening? Since probably about right before seventh grade, my friend turned me on to you guys. Wait a minute. Aren't you in school right now? Well, I started school on Monday or Tuesday, so this is my last chance to get in. Okay. All right, cool. Your opponent, P1 Instigator, is back on the line. Oh, my God. Wait a minute. Who knows how long? Who knows how long? Wow. Wait a minute. Well, hello. Oh, look at this.
P1 Instigator. So the Hall of Fame gets announced, and all of a sudden, Instigator's back. That's right. Interesting. Instigator, how old are you? 24. How long have you been listening? It's probably been about three years now. Three years. Good match. It's going to be good. Who starts? Who should we have start? I'll flip a coin. Call it, Marcus. Uh, two. It's heads. Instigator goes first. Instigator. I feel like I messed that up. I'm going to flip it again. I screwed the coin toss up. You ready? What? Yeah, you suck at the coin toss. Instigator, you call it. You won again. It's heads. Wow. Or no, wait, that means Marcus won because he said heads and it was tails. You better flip again. Flip again. This isn't working out very well. Marcus, you call it this time.
Call it in the air. Go ahead. How many did you flip? I flipped 18 coins. I'm sorry about that. Heads and tails. All right, you both start first. Well, that doesn't work. All right, Marcus, you were on the line first. You start. All right. What do you want? A one, two, or a three-point question? Go for two, Mike. You got it. Where was Sean supposed to meet up with his 7-Eleven friend when he was on vacation? Tahoe. That is correct. Marcus. You're going to be impossible to beat. Right? Yeah. Instigator. One, two, or three-pointer? I'm going to go with a two. All right. What 80s movie does Mikey always reference? Kramer versus Kramer. That is correct. Marcus. Yes. One, two, or three? Play and save, go for two-pointer. You got it. Name one other person on the pregame show with Eddie. Lou Buss. You got it. Oh, man. Cake. This ain't even playing. Instigator. This is good.
What are you going to do, Instigator? You got to do it, dude. You got to do it. I got to do it? Yeah. Give me a three. Give me a two. What food did Eddie have thrown at him by a customer when he was a teenager? That is correct. Specifically fries. You both come in. You both come in. That was messed up, Eddie. That's like bittersweet. That was amazing. Yeah, you two are good. Hang on the line, you two. Bye, Mikey. Holy cow. Peace out, yo. Thanks, dude. I've got to go. Spongebob is on. Oh, my gosh. That was awesome, man. Right? Those guys are unbeatable. That was crazy. Unbeatable. That's what makes it so disappointing sometimes when you get some people, they call in, they don't know anything about the show, and then you'll get these guys, sometimes they can't lose. Yeah, yeah.
Let's see. Let's do some new releases. Oh. In your face. Whose face? Yours. Yours. Alright. Okay. That's right. In your face. Come on, talk about it. All right, we've got new video games out this week. We have Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. Somebody buy it for me. For the Xbox 360. Now, are you talking to us here on the show or just everybody? Anyone. Anyone. I wanted to show up on my doorstep. So, Eddie wants Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. Since we're taking orders, I'll take Madden 09. Yeah, me too. I call it first. PS3. Okay. All right, also out on video game this week, we have Ferrari Challenge. Trofeo Pirelli? I don't know. How is it spelled? Sorry, everybody. T-R-O-F-E-R-O. Trofeo? Trofeo? Pirelli? I don't know. PS3, everybody. Racing, cars, Ferraris. It sounds good to me. I'm not buying it now. No, you're not? No, if you would have pronounced it right, I would have. Okay, maybe you'll like this one. Need for Speed Undercover. Oh.
I like Need for Speed. Yeah. I can play racing games. Yeah, you like those. I can't play shooters. Yeah. Mario Super Sluggers for the Wii. Wii! Infinite Undiscovery for the Xbox 360. We have Castle Crashers Xbox 360, Tales of Vesperia Xbox 360, and Vampire Rain Altered Species for the PS3 out this week. Sounds good. Okay, new music out today. We have The Game with LAX. I used to think The Game was 50 Cent, but that's not right, right? They're two different people. Very different, Mike. Very different. Two different people. Also out today, we have Slipknot with All Hope is Gone. I used to think that Slipknot was the guys of the Hanson Brothers that sang Mm-Volk. Oh, really? Really different. That's a type of a knot. Thank you. You're welcome. Slipknot. It's a slipknot, you know? When you're making a knot and you tie it and the thing goes in the hole. I mean, you don't have to explain it. Okay, cool.
Okay. With the new CD, we have Solang with Soul Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams. That's Beyonce's sister. This is Beyonce's sister right here? Yes. My brother started a radio show in Tucson yesterday called The Marky Show. My brother Mark. Same thing. It's the same principle. Diet Beyonce. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not quite Beyonce. Yeah. That would have been an interesting name. It's not bad. I think it sounds nice. Yeah. It's Destiny's adoptive child. Yeah. There it is. There it is. The Verve has a new album out today called Fourth. Who would play that? Like a pop station? Star 100.7? Maybe. Okay. Motorhead, a new one called Motorized. This is Abba. This is his opening for Neil Diamond in September when he does the sports run. He's awesome. He's here.
And then finally with the new album today, we have Blues Travelers with North Hollywood Shootout. It's going to sound just like Motorhead, right? Yeah. I don't get it. I don't understand. I don't speak that language. We just heard it. I don't get it. It's good stuff. I don't understand. I like it. New DVDs out today. What? Thank God. What Happens in Vegas, Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher. I want to see that. It's all right. Number one on Sky's Netflix. It is right now. Is that right? Got it in the queue. Thank you very much, Eddie. You're welcome. Second in my queue on Netflix is Morgan Spurlock's film, Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? Oh, yeah. I saw previous for that. That comes out today on DVD. If you know somebody who is into this, they're putting this out on DVD and Blu-ray today. Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Oh, yeah. Not your language, no? No. Okay.
TV shows to DVD. We have Heroes Season 2, Entourage, the complete fourth season, Shield Season 6, One Tree Hill, the complete fifth season, NCIS, the fifth season, Everybody Hates Chris, the third season, and the Ultimate Fighting Championship Volume 84. BJ Penn versus Sean Shirk. The Muscle Shark. Oh, the Muscle Shark. Obviously. So those are the new releases today. There it is. 570-1053 is our number. Even before, maybe. Okay. It's not legal. 5701053, Mikey Show. Hello. Hey, this is P1 Hammy. What's up? I just wanted to know, let me know that you had to be 18 years old. On the website, on Harrah's, it says you have to be 21 or older to go to the event. Okay. How does that work? You turn 21. Well, I... I think the deal probably is the B-Rop thing. You need to be 21 because basically it's being held. And the poker tournament. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's being held. Yeah, thank you. Yeah, but I mean, like, for the poker tournament, you have to be 21? Yes. Yeah, to gamble. Yes, it's gambling. Well, I'm 18, 19, and I get to gamble. Where do you gamble for that 19? I thought Indian casinos were 18, no? I thought Indian casinos were 18. Is it really? I don't know. Yeah, it is. You're going to have to check with each one because I know my brother was 19. I took him and he got kicked out. Really? Yeah. I guess it depends on which one you go to, brother. Hey, man, if it says 21, it's probably 21. But the Hall of Fame ceremony, you can go to. Okay, so I'll probably be there. Cool. Sweet. Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey, it's P1. Hey, Matt Damon. Hey, Matt Damon. Hey, Matt Damon. Hey, Matt Damon. Hey, Matt Damon.
What's going on? I guess you guys haven't really covered this topic, but I know you guys all appreciate UFC and stuff. And you guys have interviewed Rampage, and the dude's a great fighter and everything, you know? So this last weekend, I'm up in L.A. visiting a buddy, and I went to a restaurant. I see just the back of Rampage, and I'm like, dude, that's Rampage. Walk over there. Dude's got the head of like a pit bull on him. Yeah. He's a big dude. Yeah. He's ginormous. And I mean, I'm like standing there thinking, oh, dude, should I ask him for a picture? My heart's pounding everything. I'm like, dude, what the heck's going on? And he's standing there talking to Fez from that 70s show. Yeah. They were just the coolest guys. And I know you guys had that Rampage on there before. And he just was so nice. You know, when we had Rampage on before. He talked about hanging out with Wilder Valderrama the night before at a club in Los Angeles. I guess they're friends. Kevin Federline. K-Fed. Yeah, K-Fed. K-Fed and Wilmer Valderrama. That is a crew. It is. I wish I could have seen K-Fed in person. That would have been crazy. That's crazy, man. Thank you. That guy is just so nice. I mean, I just thought it was pretty cool, and I know you guys had him on there, so I just figured I'd share that with you. There you go. Thank you, Matt Damon. Matt Damon.
P1 Adam. Hey, Mikey, how's it going? Good. Hey, I just want to hear what it would sound like with the conversation between Shaq and Zeth. That's a good question because Zeth is very like kind of, you know, and then Shaq's here right now. Shaq, what do you think about? What's up? Oh, wait, is that Zeth or is that Shaq? Oh, no, I'm not. Hey, Zeth. I'm Shaq. Oh, it's Shaq. Okay, sorry about that. I was just listening through the headphones. Hi, how are you, Shaq? I'm good. Zeth, how are you doing? I'm doing well. Okay, cool. I'm doing well, too. All right, cool. Zeth, were you athletic in high school? Did you play any sports? Yeah, I did. What did you play? I played basketball, football, and baseball. I played basketball, football, and baseball, too. Shaq was very athletic as well. Shaq, you play for what professional basketball team? I play for the... Los Angeles Lickers. There you go. And what was the name of your high school team, Zeth, the mascot? I really don't know. The Patriots. The Patriots. She played for the Phoenix Suns. Sorry. Wait, Chuck, you played for the Phoenix Suns. Well, you're busy. Did you forget? I forgot. You forgot. You got traded. I'm so mad at Kobe Bryant. You forgot. You got traded. Not bad. I sure will have said that. Well, there you go, sir. Adam, I hope you enjoyed that. Oh, I did. Very much. All right. Who's that guy who was mumbling? That was Zeth. Okay. That's Zeth, Chuck.
Thank you. P1 Jessica. I wanted to thank you for recommending Pomplano's. I went there for my birthday last weekend, and it was so good. What did you eat? I had the Chilean sea bass. And we ordered the french fries and said that Mikey recommended them, and then they brought out another free order of french fries. What did you think of those fries? Oh, they were amazing. Those fries are crazy. Does your mommy order them? My mouth just started watering. My mouth just started watering right now. Hey, how old are you? I'm 26. I'm 26. I'm a little baby boy. Do I sound like a baby? Yes, you sound very young. When I moved in high school, people always thought I was like 9 or 10. Make fun of me. Well, I'm glad that you enjoyed Pamplemousse. It's my favorite restaurant in the world, not just San Diego. It's my favorite restaurant ever. It was packed.
too. Right now, it's right by the racetrack. During race season, it's going off in there. Those fries are crazy good. Who'd you go with? I'm with my husband and my parents. What'd he eat? He got the duck, I think. How did he like it? It was his first time having duck and he loved it. That's cool. You know what's good there? What? Kobe beef. That was really good. I'm surprised you like it, though. It talks back later. Hey, thanks, Jessica. Thank you. P1 Kim, what's up? You're the final call today. Bring us home. Well, hey, Mikey and crew, I wanted to say thank you. I'm a teacher, and I have enjoyed the last, I don't know, six or seven weeks. I have a summer vacation and listening to you guys every morning for several hours at a time. Normally, I just get to hear, like, the first half hour. I kind of wake up with you guys in the morning, and then I get to work, and then I don't get to hear you the rest of the morning. Where are you from? Where are my friends? Where are you from? Oh, San Diego. Oh, okay. She's on summer break from school, so that's why she can hear the whole show. Yeah, I teach down in the south side of the city. Very cool. You should be paid more.
Yep. I should be, yeah. Well, I'm glad you're listening. I'm glad you're listening, and I'm glad you've had a good time listening to us this summer. Yeah, it's been great. I'm going to miss it. Tomorrow's got to be up at, like, what, five? Well, maybe tomorrow. This week I'll be able to sleep in a little bit longer and hear you guys a little longer, but next week... 6 o'clock, I'll be in the car, 6.30, I'll be out of the car. Very nice, very nice. Well, KIT, have a great summer. Make the children smart. Stay cool. Stay cool. Stay cool. All right, I'll talk to you later. All right. Bye-bye. Bubblaine Thompson and Missy is up next. Today on the Nooner, she has the all-request lunch hour. So call her, make a request, get your song played. And we'll come back here tomorrow morning at 5.30. We'll do it again. It's the Mikey Show. We're out late. Love your mouth.
