The broadcast began with a serious discussion of Hurricane Ike's projected Category 4 landfall and mandatory evacuation orders, including a governor's stark quote about lining up buses to avoid body bags. Political debate ignited over Obama's 'lipstick on a pig' remark about John McCain, which the McCain campaign insisted was a reference to Sarah Palin's barracuda/hockey mom line, demanding an apology. Eddie shared stories about his new HP laptop that replaced one taking 15 minutes to load each morning, while the team recalled old beepers where only one person had the number and the device was the size of a garage door opener. Skye's Mexican fountain installation and her husband's gopher disposal—resulting in a grave found in the trash—prompted Rob to debut his new tribute song 'Gopher in the Wind,' and the 7th anniversary of 9/11 brought Bryant Gumbel memories and North Park concrete slab speculation.

They believe will be a Category 4 when it hits... That's big. It's over 125, right? When it hits... I believe so. When it hits Texas early Saturday. I'm not seeing Texas, dude. They say somewhere between Corpus Christi and Houston. I know they do, but I'm not seeing that. Listen to Mike. Do you have your models? I'm breaking out my models. Break it down. I'm seeing Louisiana. No, Mike. That's what I'm seeing. Hey, listen, maybe they're right. They went to school. Yeah. But I'm not seeing... Yeah, but you're a meteorologist, Mike. It would have to go, like, directly north. And they do sometimes. They do these weird things. Okay, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I see it's going to the side there. Yeah, I see Louisiana. Well, they're doing it right now on television. They're doing a projected path. So yesterday in Texas, they warned about one million people to evacuate and start moving the sick and elderly. Is that the governor that did that? I would assume so. Because I heard this quote and he and I think it was a governor that said we need to line up buses so we don't line up body bags. Wow. It was a big news bite, you know. Well said. A couple of things when we were out.
The other big one was the lipstick on a pig thing. Make sure you guys heard all about that, right? No. Lame. President Barack Obama said he was talking about John McCain and how John McCain's not really going to be much change from George Bush. And he says, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. And then the media said, Oh, wow. Well, I don't even think it was the media. It was the McCain campaign. McCain campaign says we want an apology because this is a reference to Sarah Palin's big line. You're calling Sarah Palin a pig is what the McCain campaign interpreted that to mean. Right. Because Sarah Palin had made this comment about what's the difference between a barracuda and what?
What's the difference between a bulldog and a hockey mom? There you go. Lipstick. Lipstick. Oh. All right. What's the difference between a bulldog and a hockey mom? Lipstick. Lipstick. And it was well delivered, much better than mine, and became quite a soundbite in and of itself. What the heck's a hockey mom? It's like a soccer mom in Alaska. She should. Come to the U.S. That's true. Get out of that country, will you? She's supposed to be vice president. She's not even from here. Not even from this country. Anyway, yeah, so the McCain camp is demanding an apology for this. And, of course, the media is all over it. And, you know, Obama says, well, that's not what I meant. And I believe him. I don't think he meant that. The reason I don't think he meant that is I really don't see the positive behind it. Right. I don't see how that helps. Unless, you know, the only argument you could possibly make for it is that he's just trying to throw an image in your head that you can't get out. But I don't really buy that. I don't really see a political upside to calling Sarah Palin a pig.
Well, and he wasn't even talking about Sarah Palin. It had nothing to do with Sarah Palin. Putting lipstick on a pig is a common phrase. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I think, personally, I think it's crazy for anybody to even make that assumption, you know? I don't see it at all. I don't see it at all. You know, when he stood up there and says, oh, my wife wears lipstick. Oh, my God. He wants to marry Sarah Palin. Like, what? No. Well, check it out. Last night on Letterman, Barack was on. Cut five. Have you ever actually put lipstick on a pig? The answer would be no. But I think it might be fun to try. Do you... I know the reaction to that was you are overreacting. You stand by that? Absolutely. Yeah, look, this is... If you... This is sort of silly season in politics. Not that there's a non-silly season in politics. That's right. But it gets sillier. And, you know, it's a common expression in at least Illinois. I don't know about New York City. I don't know where you put lipstick on here. Oh. Oh, no. I think he was making a disparaging comment about New Yorkers. Definitely was. Wow.
Apologize. It's really sad that we've come to this. Issue a press release. Oh, common expression. I didn't think he would do such a... Oh, I didn't think he'd stoop so low, Mike. Yes, such a vile... Ridiculous. Desperation move. Let's see. So, I already introduced myself. Eddie is 35 years of age. Oh, he's a happy boy today, Mike. Dude. Yeah. We were out yesterday. We were out sick because I was helping Eddie shop for a laptop. Eddie has a new laptop, and it's changed his world. A new man. He looks so happy. You don't realize how bad your life is until you get something like this. I'm serious, Sky. My laptop took seriously 15 minutes to load up every morning. 15 minutes. That's crazy. I mean, the thought of that to me is absurd. I don't know how you got that. I've worked on it. I've tried to fix it. It wasn't working. And so I finally had some time yesterday and I said, well, I'm just going to go get a new one. That's right. And it is lovers. Wow. What the hell? It is lovers.
I like it. Eddie's getting rid of his rotary phone later today, too. He's finally gone. I'm keeping that. Pager's more advanced. That tells you what number to call. My brother gave me a beeper one time for like my 15th birthday. I thought, I'm 15. I don't know who I'm going to give the number to. You only could give one number. You know, you could only give it to one person. That way, if it went beep, beep, beep, you knew to call that one person. Right. It was this thing where they called this number and the little thing, it's about the size of a couch. It sat on your hip. And it would start beeping. So it didn't display? No. Oh, that was free. Early days? Oh, I didn't even know such a thing existed. Yeah, it was called a beeper.
Doctors had it, and they knew, or, you know, whoever. Anybody could have a beeper, but one person had the number. So in the case of a doctor, they know, call the hospital. Call work. Can you believe that? The exchange. I didn't even know that. I thought pagers or beepers always, like, displayed a number. Yeah, they gave you the number. I didn't know that pre, this is the first edition. I wish I still had it. I wish I still had it. In all honesty, you know how big it was? This is completely honest. It was the size of a garage door opener. Come on. It was the size of a garage door opener. Holy moly. Oh, yeah. It was giant. Wow. And I remember him explaining, you know, now you've got to call this company and they will cancel out this thing. I've already canceled, but you have to do the thing. And then you set it up. And I'm like, I don't have a credit card. All right. I'm 15, you know. Whatever. Oh, man. Eddie is a happy, happy guy with that new thing, man. What kind is it? It's an HP. It's slamming, right? It looks real nice on the outside. Sick. So fast. Nice glossy screen. It's got a lot of gigs and rams and stuff like that. Lucky boy. I don't know what it means, but it's got a lot of it. Lovers. Lovers. Skye is our news girl. She is 30 years of age, and she spent a lot of time yesterday trying to get that fountain going.
That Mexican fountain that they spent $8 on. It's an $800 fountain. She got it for 80 cents. How's it going, Skye? Well, we installed a new pump in it. Pumpers like to pump. Of course, we had to take it all apart to put it back together. This thing is heavy. I am really surprised I did not injure myself. When we lifted... because there's this one part that's the heaviest part, the biggest bottom bowl. When we lifted it, after we put it down, my husband looks at me and goes, I'm going to vomit. I'm going to vomit. And I'm like, how are you going to vomit? And I accomplished that. But anyways, we put the silicone on it yesterday, so that'll dry. You got it in TJ, right? Or did he go further? Yeah, he went further in. You get better deals the further in you go. Cabo San Lucas. He went to Cabo San Lucas. Mexicali. So once I get home from work today, we're going to plug it in and see how that sucker runs. Wow. Yeah, it was not fun. There you go. Shawnee O'Boy is our sound effects man. He's 38 years old. And right now, he's sitting in a high-rise building in San Francisco.
He's a germaphobe. Make Eddie stop, would you please? Eddie's waving at him. He's just saying hi. I don't know, but he does this thing. See that with his fingertips? When he rubs his index finger and his thumb together. Yeah, yeah. It's like he's got me, and I don't like it. Wait, what? I don't like that at all. Let's see. Ashley is our assistant producer, and she got her hair did. Look at that. Yes, she did. Oh, let's see the baby. Yeah. That's great. The bangs are back. How about that? The bangs are back. They cut the bangs a little bit right now, so now you can have them down instead of having to feather them like you were doing before. The Aquanet. Yeah, you're back, kid. You realize now that she's going to spend half the show looking in that window. They're really on point today.
Always the first day after I get my hair done, my hair is so nicely done because he did it. Don't you leave them. They're perfect. Don't touch them. I don't know that I'll be dispersing them that much today. Don't even look at them every two seconds. Boston Rob. He's got bangs, too. That's right. I like her bangs. He's getting there. He's growing his hair out. He didn't know to wear. I'm just forgetting. That I even have here. Not dealing with it. There you go. You can tell. It's a good idea. Whatever happens. So business as usual. That's right. Knowing, dude. Did you, okay, now Rob has the word Boston tattooed on his neck. Did you do that? Did you do that so that when you wore a Red Sox shirt, it would say Boston Red Sox? That's pretty cool. No? I guess that's a no. No. No? Because my favorite Red Sox. Jersey says Boston. The other day I saw you and you had on a jersey that said Red Sox and suddenly something clicked in my mind. I wonder if that's what that's about. But then he says no. Mike, there's no rhyme or reason. No rhyme or reason. Just wanted to do it. He actually has a tattoo of number 34 on his back so he doesn't ever have to wear a jersey.
Oh, man. It's pretty cool. Thanks. Rob is a singer, and he's a songwriter, and he's written something new. We'll tell you about it in just a minute. Oh, drop it. Drop it. That's right. And then there is Roosevelt, Zethian, Oates, III, Junior, Esquire, MD, DDS, Inc. Rosie. Rosie. Wow. He's our phone screener. 23 years old, real tall. then all we see is boxers. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Sorry. You always see his boxers. And yet has a belt. Yep. He secures the belt just under his butt cheeks. That's where he tightens the belt. Got a nice little crease going on there. You know what I mean? That's a strange place to tighten that belt, isn't it? Makes him walk like a little geisha. Got the gay part right.
Really? And, yeah, he's our phone screener. 5701053 is the phone number, and the text number is 35253. Seventh anniversary in 9-11 today. Oh, I found out some stuff. What'd you find out? On that Freedom Tower. Yeah? That steel will be visible above ground in 2007, and they're saying that it's supposed to be done in 2012. Oh, it's 2000. Eight now. So that means that the steel would have been visible last year. Maybe it is, and I don't know it. Something's got to be above ground. I hope so. In 2010, the building will be ready for occupancy. In 2010, it'll be ready for occupancy? But didn't they say it wouldn't be complete until 2012? Yeah. Well, it's like paint and stuff. Yeah, what is going to take two years? I don't get that. Yeah, speckle and paint. Yes, a lot of speckling. I wonder if you go to Google Images. Yeah, I got one here. Oh, you're doing that? The satellite? You want to come look? Yeah, yeah. Well, they got a picture, a rendering, and it looks real of what it'll look like. Is that what you meant? No, actually, you know how you can go to Google Earth and look at a satellite and zoom in? That satellite is not a live picture. Oh, how old is it? You didn't know that? It's usually a couple of years old. Well, that's stupid.
Okay. This guy's outside her house waving. Can you see me? I'm going to go outside and hold up a sign that says, hello, boo. And then you go to the computer. And then freeze frame. I don't see you, honey. Wait, I'll go to the left. I'm to the left now. Honey, I'm to the left. To the left. To the left. I can't see you, babe. All right. And my little sign is two clicks to the left. Two clicks. All right. We're all jerks. That's great. Oh, man. Didn't know that. But you got to see the picture of what that freedom tower will eventually look like. It's really beautiful. Yeah. Shaped. Kind of weird. Put it up again, Zeth. Are they going to have like a missile thing on top of it or anything like that? I think that they will. Some sort of defense system? I think they will. I think they'll probably have sentries up there all the time. You would think they would have to have something. Mm-hmm. You want to see sky? Yeah. Here, look. It's beautiful. Oh, that's shiny. Mm-hmm. It'll be nice to have the New York skyline actually be, you know, something that is recognizable. Because right now when you see the New York skyline, it could be any city. It could be any big city. It doesn't have a very recognizable face.
570-1053. You can give us a call at the beginning and end of every show and talk about anything you want. Or you can, if you want to, you can text messages at 35253. We were not watching CBS, Eddie and I, at the time that the planes hit seven years ago. We had it on ABC every day. It's so strange because we have it on NBC now. But this was Bryant Gumbel on CBS. Cut 42. It's 8.52 here in New York. I'm Bryant Gumbel. We understand that there has been a plane crash on the southern tip of Manhattan. You're looking at the World Trade Center. We understand that a plane...
has crashed into the World Trade Center. We don't know anything more than that. We don't know if it was a commercial aircraft. We don't know if it was a private aircraft. We have no idea how many were on board or what the extent of the injuries are right now. I remember we were watching ABC at the moment that the second plane hit. And I believe we were not live on the air because I seem to remember Eddie watching it in a production room. Yeah, I must have been watching NBC because I saw the Today Show. We were watching different things? Maybe, because I was in another room. And when the second one hit, I came right into the studio and go, dude, something's going on big. I thought it was some engineer opened the door and said, hey, some plane just hit the World Trade Center. Well, the second one. Oh, the second one. Gotcha. Yeah, the first one was, I don't remember how we found out.
This is audio of the second plane hitting, cut 44. This just in, you were looking at, obviously, a very disturbing live shot there. That is the World Trade Center, and we have unconfirmed reports this morning that a plane has crashed into one of the towers of the World Trade Center. That was a weird day for everybody. That was a long, long day for everybody. But, well, they're going to build something real pretty there now. That's a big story. Sean Merriman's a big story. I think that what they're going to do to replace him is kind of an interesting story, too. They're moving somebody up from the practice squad, Eddie? Well, no. Well, Giles Tucker is replacing Merriman. And then to fill his roster spot, they moved up former Aztec Antoine Applewhite. Up from the practice squad. What does that mean to take his roster spot? Well, when he goes on IR, that means that there's an open spot on the roster. Oh, okay. So they're moving up Antoine Applewhite, which I think is really cool. I thought he played fantastic in the preseason this year. And I was actually saying on the pregame show, I thought he earned a spot on the roster. But there was just so many. We have so many linebackers that it just didn't happen. And so they cut him.
signed him to the practice squad. And when he was on the practice squad, I mean, that's the first person they usually go to. So they moved him up to the big boy squad. That's cool. Awesome. Apple bottom jeans. Come on. My wife and a bunch of her ladies went to the Padre game last night. Oh. Oh, really? You didn't go to the Sex and the City at the ballgame? No, they didn't let this girl go. Oh, sorry. Yeah, I know. I know. I did. And she got home. I woke up. I said, how was the game? She said, not so great. Padres lost 7-2. And Manny Ramirez hit two giant home runs. Hold on a minute. We all look at Rob. Wait, what? It's not on the Red Sox anymore. No, no, no. It has nothing to do with the Red Sox. I don't understand how, once again, a visiting club can come into Petco Park where it's impossible to hit home runs. And their big bat hits two home runs. I don't understand this. Listen, I'm a representative for Mr. Morris. I thought you did a terrible job last time. Yeah, this didn't work out so well for you last time. I thought I did a stellar job, if I do say so myself.
But I do have questions for you, sir. Absolutely. Again, you've been telling us the reason why we can't hit home runs, the Padres, is because of this thick marine layer. And the way Petco Park was built, it's not feasible to hit a lot of home runs there. And yet whenever a visiting club comes in. Well, not whenever. I mean, that would be to say that every single time a team played here, the opposing team would hit a home run. That doesn't happen every game. Well, that doesn't happen in any park. But for a majority. And thank you. No, that doesn't. I think you just made my point for me. Manny Ramirez hit two home runs last night. That's right. He's a good player. He's a great player. He's a great player. We don't have any of those. We do. Here's the thing. We don't. Here's the thing. Occasionally, home runs are going to be hit in that ballpark. Last night, Manny Ramirez, who's a great player, he hit a couple out. Sir. He hit a couple out. Sir. That's going to happen? In the past. Yeah. Barry Bonds. Albert Pujols. Khalil Green. No, he doesn't hit any home runs. Khalil Green.
He doesn't hit home runs. Adrian Gonzalez has hit home runs out of our ballpark. He hits his majority of home runs on the road. Yeah. I'll tell you what. He is a skill player, isn't he? He is. I like Adrian. He is a skill player. That guy can hit some home runs. I mean, Manny comes in here and bang, two out of the yard. You know what it is. What? Manny's got that ballpark figured out. What does that mean? He's got that ballpark figured out. He's never played. This is like the first series he's played here. And so that happens when ballplayers, they figure out a ballpark. This guy's ridiculous. They find a spot. They find a spot, and they're just able to do that every single time. How come not one of our players has found a spot? He's working on it. Adrian's working on it. That doesn't make any sense. It's just a sweet little spot, though. You've got to find just the right. place to put it. You know, you're ridiculous. That is true. I agree with that. Let's see. What else is happening in the world? Michael Jackson's underwear up for sale on eBay, so we'll see you later. I guess we'll talk to you tomorrow. Thank you. No callers? 570-1053. Did we take a call this morning? Yeah. We did? Yeah. It was bad? Yeah. 570-1053. Come on. We got to get these phones going. Let's get this thing on the road.
Our text number, 35253. Here's what we have. Something called Tone Deaf Karaoke will be on the show today. Oh, thank you. Jones is for it. That is Ashley singing and you trying to tell us what it is that she's singing. It's not hard. That's just gibberish. Sexy gibberish. That's right. Like labor noises or something. We will also be doing something called tough love with Eddie. It's the most important day. That's right. We need this. I think the city needs some healing. Do you remember us talking about Skye having some gopher problems in her yard? Ed, what happened? Shut up. Well, she had some gopher problems, and she was committed to doing this the, what would you call it? Humane. Humane way. Getting rid of the gophers in a humane way, and her husband took it upon himself to actually dispose the gopher. Murdered it. On his own. Murdered it. He killed the gopher. Yeah, and Skye found it in the trash out back. It's grave, Mike. The grave. The grave.
And she was very upset about it. This happened the day before yesterday. Well, Boston Rob had a little time on his hands, and so he has written a song about it. It's a tribute, right, Rob? It is, of course. So, yeah, in just a little while, next hour, you will be hearing Gopher in the Wind. In studio today, a current and former U.S. Olympic gymnast. Two gymnasts will be in here. We've got a current and we've got a former. Two of them. We've got Chelsea Memel and Shannon Miller will be in the studio later today. Great email about this dude that's upset with his HR department. I know you'll be able to relate to it. Oh, a crazy story about Vince Young, the quarterback of the Tennessee Titans. Crazy story. Crazy story. Crazy story. And, of course, the YouTube clip of the day. 570-1053 is our phone number, and our text number is 35253. Jerry Seinfeld in the stand-up spotlight. But from there, you're back up to speed all the way up and towards the Golden Triangle. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rockwood 053. Got to tell you about what's going on right now at Sleep Train. I get the news together, and I know the news. Sean. I love it when black people make fun of white people. Boston Rock. I'm a go-getter. Ashley. I am a great driver. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Pam Anderson was on Ellen's show yesterday and addressed the rumors of her dating Michael Jackson. The Angels became the first team to clinch their division winning the AL West. You're dating, from what I hear, two different people, which both are fascinating to me. One is you're dating Michael Jackson. He just wants me to be in a video. Really? Have you been hanging out with him? Well, you were seen with him. Have I? Yes.
My life is so interesting. You know, my life is a blur. I could have. No, so seriously. That's what happens. Come on. Have you been hanging out with him? Skin cancer and Vicodin. I don't know. Have you been hanging? All right. A sheik from Abu Dhabi. No, I have a lot of interesting friends. There's a lot of interesting friends. And believe me, I'm not getting as much as anyone thinks. Uh-huh. Sorry. I'm asking about getting any. I didn't ask about getting any. Anything like that. I'm just saying, are you seeing Michael Jackson? No, I'm living with my ex-husband. Where's that fit in? Yeah. But you're not getting any from him, are you? No. What does that mean when she says skin cancer and Vicodin? That's a great question. Did she have skin cancer? I don't know. She's got that hep C or something like that, one of the hepatitis. Yeah, yeah. I knew that.
Maybe that was another rumor or something. Maybe. Sounds a little crazy to me. Was she making a reference to Michael Jackson? Does he ask an answer? I don't know. I have no clue what she was talking about. I had skin cancer at one time. You did? You do, Michael? Yeah, but then my best friend, he performed surgery on me. Your best friend who? Jeepers. Jeepers. Your caterpillar? He's a caterpillar. So you're telling me that... He wears a top hat. Not only does your top hat wearing... Caterpillar. Best friend. Best friend jeepers. 47 years. He was able to... What's 47 years? We met when I was three. Michael. Oh, okay. And he performed surgery on you? I part his hair in the middle. Okay. He performed surgery on me. He has hair. Yes, he went to... He has a doctorate in gynecology from Johns Hopkins University. What does that have to do with... Yeah. What kind of surgery? I can't talk about it on the radio because it'll give you guys an FCC fine. You're being ridiculous, Michael Jackson. But he ate off all the cancer cells. That's how he does surgery. Did he numb you out first? Yeah, he went numb, numb, numb, numb. Don't encourage. Here are some of the text messages that we're getting at 35253. Mike, where did the term face all over your face come from?
I'm having a debate with my buddy. That's P1 Tommy. Well, obviously, it began as just face. Yeah. You know, when you were getting one over on somebody, you said face here on The Mikey Show. And then it just sort of, like everything that happens on this show, it evolved to you have face all over your face. That's when you really get someone. Oh, man. It's bad. You've got face all over. Yeah, you just see it dripping off the face. It's the face. You know what I mean? Skin cancer and Vicodin. Well said. Mikey, what is all the stuff after Zeth's name? That's P1 Weasel. Well, MD is medical doctor. And DDS is Doctor of Dentistry Science. That's DDS. And Inc. means that he is incorporated. Mikey, talk about the new man versus wild is the next text message, which I can't because I didn't see it. Eddie, where is it? It was kind of random. They did it in South Dakota. South Dakota.
South Dakota. Well, you know, they got the Badlands out there and the Black Mountains and all that stuff. What time of year? I don't know. Hot? Cold? There was no snow. Okay. Didn't really seem like it was. Well, the weather was crazy there. Like, it would be super hot and then it would be thunderstorms. Oh, wow. And so, you know, he didn't do anything too crazy this time. You know, I mean, he wasn't eating skunk anus or anything like that. He did that the last episode. He was in Baja, Mexico, and he ate the anus of a skunk. Extra flavor. No. He did kill another rattlesnake and eat it, which was delicious. He is crazy. He did a lot of Indian techniques last night. Really? Mikey, I'd like the Oracle's input on the Bills this year. Why? I don't know. Maybe a guy's a Bills fan. I think they're going to be awesome. Super Bowl. Are they any good? They're improved.
I thought they had a very impressive week one win over Seattle last week, but I think that it's going to be very difficult for them to keep it up. I mean, Trent Edwards isn't like any kind of veteran quarterback or anything, so it'll be interesting. They're improved, though, and obviously it helps with Tom Brady being out for their division. Eddie is the sports oracle, and P1 Nick is on the line with a question for the oracle. Hey, Eddie, I was curious what you had to say about the Aztecs going into Notre Dame and kind of taking it to them for a little while at least. Well, it just tells you how sorry the Notre Dame are fighting Irish are. Are they really bad? They're terrible. Yeah. I mean, absolutely terrible. I mean, if the Aztecs can go in there and almost pull out a win, you're the worst. Well, the Aztecs are the worst. They lost to Cal Poly Sky in their opener. Yes. I mean. Nick, are you a SDSU alumni? Yeah, I am. Sorry, bro. Ryan Lindley looks pretty promising. Who? Ryan Lindley. Yeah, I mean, you know, give me a break. You know the score. They're terrible. I didn't know they lost to Cal Poly. That does sort of put perspective on. I watched that whole game, the Aztecs and the Irish, and, man, I was pulling for them, but, you know.
They blew it. Well, we like to focus on academics at SDSU. That's true. You know, sports come secondary. Well, I mean, studies come first. You know. Right, Ash? That's how it works at SDSU. Studies come first. Ash was, you couldn't get her out of that library. You couldn't get her out of that line. Don't people major in beer bongs there? That's a stereotype. I can feel you think that. They're all stereotypes. I'm sure that there was probably a lot of conversations with Ashley's parents where they were like, you've got to give yourself a break every once in a while. Get out of those books for just a minute and just spend some time just for you. I couldn't help it, though, because I had so much homework, you know, and stuff to do, studying. Just study. She was on the dean's list at San Diego State University. Have you ever had a conversation with her? With Ashley? Yeah. Oh, yeah, man. Okay, well, then. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's got her stuff together, kid. No. Big time. Let me tell you what. Big time. This one says, hey, Mikey. Hey, Mikey, we're going to Maui in October and wondering if you have any advice on where to eat and what to do, et cetera. Thanks. That's P1 Hula. Yeah, you know what? I should probably be there in order to. I can tell you.
It's not as easy. I need some tour guides. I'll tell you how to get there. The roads are complicated, and so I will have to probably show you exactly where I'm talking about. Well, you highly recommend that you rode the Hana, correct? No, I do not. No, I do not recommend that. No, you don't? No, I do not. What if you're, like, nature? I would look at it in a magazine. Nature? I would look at nature in a magazine. No, you're in Maui. No, don't do that, Rode to Hana. I almost died on that stupid thing, too. Who hasn't? Who hasn't? My boyfriend says he thinks it would be really fun. No. It's because he's never done it. It sounds fun, don't it? Yeah, it's not fun. I don't know if he's done it or not. I forget. Because he was saying that what you do is you take your own car up. Yeah, I've heard that too. You can stop whenever you want. You know what's really great about taking your own car? Then when you get onto the part of the road where it's approximately three feet wide and there's somebody coming the other direction and you're up 450 feet on a volcano, it's really cool. Really a different perspective. And you're in that rental Mustang. It's great. The dirt road.
Let's see. 5701053 is the number. Text number is 35253. Big C, what's up, man? I was going to see if anybody had seen Fringe. Oh, Fringe. I didn't see it. I didn't see it. It was good. It's simply awesome. It's awesome? It's JJ Abrams, and it had a lot of lost qualities about it. Really? Oh, big time. And I loved it. I thought it was crazy. Sky, did you see it? Yeah. I thought everyone was going to hate it. Really? It was killer. It kind of... You know what it's about? About two hours in the opening. It goes out and a half early. But the fringe is fringe science, which means telepathy, invisibility, trying to develop that kind of stuff. And it's all about that. And this crazy company that is developing this stuff. Yeah, I thought that you guys would think it was cheesy and lame.
Like, oh, the government guy all of a sudden dies, but then the company all of a sudden has his body, like, three seconds later. Like, so the government just gives people's bodies away. Like, there was a lot of things like that just, I'm surprised. Like, I thought you guys were going to be angry and, like, hate it. Not at all. Did you like it? I like the concept of it, but it was kind of distracting in its cheesiness. Like there were so many things that like. Sky always has a different opinion than the real opinion. Oh, I wanted to love it. It was rad, dude. It was very smart. You think you can get it online? But you don't think those things are like. I didn't think anything was cheesy about it at all. I thought it was like the X-Files without the aliens and monsters. Really? Yeah. It was exactly like that. Can I get it online, you think? Probably. Wait, download it? They're going to repeat it Sunday at 8. Oh, man. Oh, good luck to you. Yeah, you got to watch it. There was nothing cheesy about it at all. I'm all in on that. If you like sci-fi and mystery and stuff like that, it was rad. It was like Lost. There's nothing cheesy about Lost. That's cool. That is cool. Sky with the different perspective. Sky not digging it.
Well, I mean, no one thought that was weird. The fact that the guy dies. Which guy? Was he from Melrose Place? The guy who was all, his body was all see-through for the whole thing. He dies. Hey, listen. He's a government agent. Eddie, do you find it strange? 90210. Loved it. She loved it. She loved the new 90210. But this new show, Fringe, by J.J.A. She's out. I didn't say I was out. Figures. It's just cheesy. A lot of it doesn't make sense. There was nothing cheesy about it. Then explain that to me. How does a government agent die? Doesn't that happen in 24 where it can be a little unrealistic? 90210. Documentary. A government agent dies. You buy 24. Where Jack Bauer gets blown up by a nuclear bomb and is okay a minute later. That happens. But you don't like this. No, and when those things happen on 24, I say, that's cheesy. That sucks. No one's getting eaten by a cougar. No, you don't. Yes, I do. No, you don't. You still like the show. Oh, I still like the show. And I like Fringe. I just assumed you guys were going to not like it for that reason. I'm going to download today and give you my opinion. I cannot wait. I got it. I got it. Man. 570-1053 is the phone number. Sean.

A brush fire started by a failing catalytic converter burned over 300 acres along the 52 yesterday. Reports are saying that Tom Brady tore both his ACL and MCL. Oh my. That is bad. Matt Castle. Yeah. That's funny. Number 16. I'm sure there's been players that have torn both. I can't think of any. Yeah. But they've done both of them. It's major surgery. You know, obviously, you tear both of those bad boys. But he'll be fine. You know, he's a man. This morning. He's a man. This morning on the Today Show, they're going to have a guy named Hans Lang.
And he survived a base jumping accident. He smashed into the side of a rock going about 100 miles an hour. And I don't know if you guys know what this is. It's these dudes that wear these, you know, onesies. They wear a big onesie. And the onesie has, you know, like webs underneath the arms. Oh, yeah, yeah. You know what I'm talking about? Yeah. Oh, totally. And sometimes it has it between the legs as well. It's made out of the same stuff that parachutes made out of. And they go flying through the air by the sides of mountains. Yep. It looks real dangerous, but really exhilarating and fun. No. Do they wear a parachute on their back so they can land safely? How do they do that? I was just thinking that. How do they? I think they have to, yeah. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I'm wondering if there's something that they pull to get rid of the wings. Otherwise, you'd just keep winging it or something. Yeah, what are you saying? 570-1053 is a phone number here. Our text number, 35253. Hey, Mikey, is Eddie ready for the new Star Wars game coming out on Tuesday? It's called The Force Unleashed. That's P1. Have you heard that, Eddie? Of course. Please, baby stuff. The P1s actually, for my birthday, bought me a gift card for it. So I'm already ready to go. As soon as it comes out on Tuesday, I'll go with my gift card and ammo. That's cool. That's awesome. Eddie's a fan.
A little bit. Mikey, save your time for something better. Sky's Right Fringe was super cheesy. Oh, wow. You're stupid. I'm going to watch it and decide. I mean, I liked it. I'll watch it again. Don't get me wrong. I just thought it was kind of cheesy. Is Lost cheesy? Um, no. Now Lost is cheesy all of a sudden. No, I'm thinking. I'm trying to think about it before I answer. I don't understand. Sean? I mean, yes. Sean, can you help me? I don't want to battle this on my own. I mean, I love Lost, and I don't think it's as blatantly cheesy, but obviously, yeah, Hurley, you don't lose any weight after, you know, not having food for that first, you know, month. And then they found food. Hey, don't. No, no, no. You realize the island is, like, kind of special, right? Yeah. Do I have to explain the way it is? Yeah, it heals people. It heals people. But it keeps people overweight, too. It cures cancer. And it keeps people obese? It keeps people the way you are. No, it's curing cancer, keeping someone the way they are. Are you guys telling me that the island in Los Angeles? Yeah, it's special. Stop it. I thought it was Maui. I thought that was the whole idea behind the whole thing. I thought it was supposed to be Maui.
Come on. Well, yeah, they did, because, you know, sometimes you don't hit those notes just right. That's a nice way to say it, right? I don't know. Sometimes you don't hit the notes just right. That's right. That's right. Ashley, we noticed this years ago. We noticed that she has an interesting singing voice. Definitely unique. We noticed it. Thank you. It's unique. And so what we do is we play a game called Tone Deaf Karaoke where we listen to clips of her singing. And what you do as the listener is you tell us, hey, what was that she was singing?
Sound easy? It's not. She's speaking Farsi. Extra points for Farsi. P1, Dominica. Hello, Mikey Show. Hello. Tell everybody what a P1 is, Dominica. Somebody that turns down the radio, gets to the point, and turns other people on to the Mikey Show. That is right. That is right. You got it. That is a P1, and anybody can be a P1. You just got to make sure you're getting all your friends to listen to the Mikey Show, and you're listening for a long time. You are a P1, and so I'm assuming you are familiar with the game Tone Deaf Karaoke.
I surely am. All right. So I'm going to play a clip. Let the whole thing play. Then when it's done, you're going to give me a title or artist and you win. All right. Here we go. Let's work together to improve our way of life. Join voices in protest to social injustice. A generation full of courage. Come forth with me. People of the world today. I've been looking for a better way of life. Sing it. Sky definitely had okay eyes. That wasn't my best word. Yeah, and so that one was a little tough. That one was a little tough. So I apologize. Yeah, that was different. God awful. It's not my fault. Sky, percentage of you that is positive, you know what that was. Oh, it just hit me. I know the artist now, and I think I know the title of the song. So I am 100% sure on the artist, and I am 50% sure on the song title. How about you, P1 Dominica?
I am clueless. Sky, what's your guess? Well, I know it's Janet Jackson. I believe it's Rhythm Nation. You are correct, Sky. Nice work. Sky speaks Ashley. There's no doubt about it. She knows what Ashley's saying. I think it's a walk and talk. Well, yeah, but that one took me to the very last note for finally to be like, oh, yeah. You had to hear that. Oh, yeah. No. How was the walk and talk on Tuesday? Thank you, Dominica. Thank you. It was lovely. Yeah. Like I said, it's more of a walk and listen. But it was very interesting when Ashley got down on the middle of the sidewalk and started showing me yoga moves, doing the plank, the downward dog. She didn't know how to do the charranga. People are trying to walk. People are trying to walk by, and she is down on all fours with her butt in the air in the middle of the sidewalk. No, Sky, you keep the butt down. Well, no, but then when you did the downward dog, but then remember you went into downward dog. Oh, that's true. Well, then that comes after the chocolate. They go walking together on Tuesday, Sky and Ashley. Yeah, it was lovely, but it's definitely helped my yoga, so thank you. P1 Surge, how are you? I'm good. How are you doing? I'm good. Are you ready to give this a try?
I am ready. It's not easy. No. I just want to let you know that right now. Okay? It's easy. It's easy. It's not easy, Hillary Clinton. It's easy. No, it isn't. Never easy. Partially. I'm going to give you a clip here, P1 Surge, and let the whole thing play. Give me title of artist, and you win. Here we go. Dude, get out of here. I mean, was that the sound of that gopher dying? I think she needs a time out, Mike. I think you're right. Grounder. What did I do? You farted like through audio. P1 Surge, can you give me a title or an artist on that? Can you play it again? Of course. Of course I can. Of course I can. Don't do it again. How dare you? I'm furious. Wait till you hear what this is. Wait till you hear what she's singing. This. What do you think it was, dude? Oh, my.
God. I know, like, every song there is. Man, I don't know. You know every song there is? Yeah. Like, even the B-side stuff of Jose Feliciano, you know that? He knows it. He says he knows everything, so he'd have to know that. I don't know that. Dude. Dude, I don't know, man. Take a stab in the dark. It's a British band, and they're a big hit. I never would have gotten that. Current British band. Well, that's not the name of them. Band. Oh, okay. British band, Big Hit. That's not the name of the band. They're my favorite. I'm trying to give you a hint. They are a British band, and they are a current British band that's out there right now. A lot of piano in their music, and they got big hits. Evidence? Oh, wow. Very British.
This guy knows everything about music and his guess for a British band that currently has a lot of hits is Evanescent. Piano. I thought that was a good guess. Yeah, that all very British singer, Amy Lee. Yes, if by British you mean like Las Vegas. Yeah. That was actually Coldplay, bro. Oh, that was not the same song. That was Yellow. No, it wasn't. You don't believe me? Listen again. I'm telling you. Why is her voice like that? Eddie, you've never tried. I don't want to. It is hard. They did my best. I don't know what you want for me. Samantha Ronson hints that her and Lindsay Lohan will be getting married before the end of the year. The police who had to search for a distraught Vince Young found him. His mom says that he may not want to play football again. Eddie, what is the deal? Vince is a sensitive cat. Okay. And he was very upset.
After Sunday's game, because he got booed. Why would he get booed? Just because he wasn't playing well? He didn't play very good. And he was injured during the game. Uh-huh. And was very upset by the criticism. Okay. And disappeared. He disappeared, meaning that no one knew where he was. No one could get a hold of him. No one could get a hold of him. So Vince's family called head coach Jeff Fisher and told him this. And Fisher called the cops. Wow. And the cops found him. And he was fine. He wasn't, you know. Where did they find him? At a friend's house. At a friend's house? Without a cell phone. And, you know, he was just chilling out. Okay. But he is very upset. And his mama says that Vince is hurting inside. And thinks that all the negativity that he's faced is making him reconsider if he wants this life. Well, that is very sad and at the same time very unusual. Very unusual.
He's always crying. It's a very unusual story about an NFL quarterback. He comes home crying to his mom? You know, because this stuff happens. Well, to me, if you want the booing to stop, the thing you shouldn't do is acknowledge the booing and ask it to stop. Because if you ask the booing to stop, then it's not going to stop. Well, if you ask for the booing to stop and then you mix booing fans with alcohol. Oh, man, that sometimes goes south. He's respectful to the media. He's respectful to the public. You're right. And he's a good kid. That's true. He is, but at times we'll go home crying. It'd be like if Zeth were an NFL quarterback. Oh, man. Now I make sense. We're talking and sobbing openly. I wouldn't have said that, Sean. He's always crying.
This text message says, hey, guys, is 13 too young to be a P1? I listen with my dad all the time. It's Sierra. Well, you're now P1 Sierra. Of course, it's not too young. You could be any age to be a P1 as long as you, when you call in, turn down your radio, get to the point, and don't cuss. That's a P1. Mikey, when are you going to talk about the body and the cement? Oh, my gosh. Good point. Oh, my gosh, Mike. So what's the deal, Sky? Well, so these people have a place in North Park. And on Friday, they were doing a little, like, landscaping renovation deal. And there was this big, like... piece of concrete that was left in their yard from some work that was done there about like two months ago. And I guess it's a bigger piece of property. So this like extra piece of concrete was kind of back in the back part of like the woods of their yard or whatever. So they want to get rid of it, but it's a big thing. So they got to break it up to be able to dispose of it. So they break it up. And then in the middle, they find this like egg shaped plastic.
And so they bust into that, not really knowing what that is, and there's a dead body inside. No way. Who is it? Well, they believe it's this old... Jimmy Hoffa. They believe it's this old guy from Hemet. So basically this old guy went missing. He was last seen in May. Whoa. And people were suspicious of his, like, new friend slash caretaker. He's an 80-year-old guy, and this guy was, you know, helping him out. But some neighbors and friends were kind of suspicious of this dude but never said anything. And then the guy, the 80-year-old guy, goes missing. And so that's the point where they, you know, file a missing persons report. Nobody knows anything. Well, video shows. And we're talking just May of this year. Yeah, yeah. For whatever reason, when I heard this. I thought this is going to be like an unsolved mystery case from seven years ago or something like that. You know what I'm saying? Well, they end up arresting the caretaker guy because the caretaker guy was caught on video using the missing old dude's ATM card and taken out money and removed close to $100,000 from the old dude's bank account.
No way. But still, they never found the body. They never, like, knew what happened. And it turns out that this caretaker guy had done a little landscaping work at this house in North Park a couple months ago. No! In the backyard. No way. And that's where that all... Hemet is in Riverside County. This is the Riverside Police Department Sergeant Dennis Gutierrez. Cut 55. The suspect, Thomas Brooks, was able to befriend Edward Clayton Andrews. And during that relationship, he was able to gain some financial access. We have Edward Clayton Andrews, 80 years old, where he's supposed to be in his golden years of life. And here he is looking at a guy who thinks he's going to be his friend and unfortunately turned out to be a foe. Oh, that's terrible. That guy's going to go away for a long time. Oh, yeah. Mikey, the Hootie song by Ashley is lovers. That's P1 Elroy. It's so true. Absolutely is. Thank you. Mikey, can Ashley re-record the entire Hootie album, please? I will pay a million bucks for it. It's P1 Rumpel. So good. So not good. Mikey, I have two words for the Vince Young issue. Madden curse. That was last year. P1, what's hampooning?
You know, I just realized I drafted this year's Madden Curse guy in my fantasy football. That's awesome. That's right. I have Brett Favre. So far, so good. Hey, if it goes so far, so good for the whole thing, it'd be the first guy in how many years, Eddie? Well, you know, it's not like Brett didn't have his issues already. Maybe they're over. Maybe that's already hit him. I think all the debacle with his legacy and all that stuff, I mean, that could have been part of the curse. Glad I got that out of the way. Or not. Eddie. I don't know any. This segment is called Tough Love with Eddie. Yes. You see, our friend Eddie, he gives it to you like it is. Yeah. Straight from the hip. There's no messing around. He doesn't candy coat his words. But can't he be nice? I'm very nice. That's called helping. I help the whole. Sometimes kind of like a punch in the face. No. It's more like a slap. But sometimes that's what it takes to kind of wake you up a little bit. You know what I'm saying? You can act like a man. That's right. That's right. I wish I could talk to Vince Young. That's what I do. Oh, can you imagine? A little tough love. A little tough love with Vince Young. Eddie, our first letter reads. Dear Eddie, this is Corey Lynette writing to you again. Now, I have to tell you that I...
Kind of know about this, too, because Eddie's shared this story about Corey with me before. Here's from her on a pretty regular basis. And now it's taken to writing me through the tough love. That is correct. Link on the website. Which is a great idea. Great idea. I'm glad she did. Relax. Relax. Dear Eddie, this is Corey Lynette writing to you again. Me and my friend Corey Wasser have written you. sent you a CD, and left messages. You have never called back, which is rude. If you don't want to have us on, fine, but at least let us know. We have a band called The Corys, as you know, and we just want to promote the band. Just because you may not like acoustic-based music doesn't mean Mikey Show listeners won't. I've written Mikey, too, and he doesn't respond either. Maybe we will just have to try another radio show.
But we thought you should have the chance to hear our music first. That's signed Corey Lynette, former P1. Eddie? Dear the Bories. First, I did receive your CD, and it was blank. That is true. That is true. We put it in the CD player, there was nothing on it. There was nothing on it. It was blank. I don't know about you, Mikey, but it's kind of hard to make a decision about your... acoustic set when the two of you don't equal one brain. That is true. It's true, kind of. And neither one of you imbeciles can figure out how to press record. I mean, even Zeth figured that out and he can barely tie his shoes. I always like to throw a good Zeth joke in there. Why not? Listen, sweetie, I mean, you two bother me a lot. And you are right. I have never called you back. And there's actually two reasons for this.
One, you're called the Corys. That is as stupid sounding as Sky trying to order Chinese food. Second reason I don't call you back, you brain surgeons have never left a contact member. Sky, I'm not. Even I support that. Once in 714 messages. You guys want to hear my imitation of me getting their messages? Yes. Hi, Eddie. It's the Corey's. Delete. Hi, Eddie. It's the Corey's. Delete. Hi, Eddie. It's the Corey's. Delete. Hi, Eddie. It's the Corey's. Delete. See the pattern here? I get where you're going. I get it. I mean, it's not like I'm a little busy at all. I mean, I had a Hall of Fame broadcast to produce. Oh, my God. Am I supposed to be Googling the Corys? Listen, let's be civil about this. You stop calling and I'll play your CD. Mikey, go ahead and play it. Let's play it.
I've been seeing this girl for about three months. Last weekend, we went to the beach for the first time. I'd never seen her in a bikini before and wow, it's... Not good. She was covered in moles. I totally get that people don't have perfect model skin, but geez, this chick is covered in them. I'm sure Sean can relate. I don't feel nearly as attracted to her now. What can I do to get over this? That's P1 Skins from Carlsbad. Eddie? I think we all know where we're going with this one. Dear holy moly.
I knew that was coming. Too easy? About beam me up spotty. Getting better. You guys like that one? Definitely getting better. So the chick is getting a jump on skin cancer. I mean, listen, maybe she's a self-starter. I mean, you know, we heard from Pam Anderson today. That's true. You know, a little skin cancer. People are always looking for someone with a little initiative, right? I mean, the girl has goals. I mean, this one happens to be a deadly disease. Okay. I mean, that shouldn't bother him, right? I mean, hey, at least it's not leprosy. Now, that would be bad. You know what I mean? But instead of focusing on the negative, let's look at the positive. One thing, I mean, you never have to waste any spot remover on her. How about if you guys are ever bored, you can break into a little quick game of Connect the Dots. All right. That is fun. I mean, make stuff on there. You never know. You never know to try. Constellation or something. That's right. Anyway, you know, she's kind of like a black towel. What? You know, you can't tell if she's dirty. You know, she always looks like she's clean. You know, you should like that one, right, Sean? You know what I mean? How about that, Sean? That is disgusting.
Top of the morning to you. Here's the best thing. If they get married and have kids, they already have built-in names. If it's a girl, Dottie. And if it's a boy, Mark. You're welcome. That was wonderful advice. Dottie. Whatever. They're beauty marks. They're beauty marks. Beauty marks. Angels kisses. That's right. Yes. I want to remind you that it's called Tough Love. Have you ever seen Skye's? They're giant. Skye has one called Big Charlie. It's the size of a dime on my back. Yeah. I mean, it's a dime. Inflation. Inflation. Inflation. If the dime will run over by a railroad. The time was run over by a locomotive. Yeah, I mean, you ever see that happen with Andy? Okay. Anyway. Our last letter each. Okay. I'm ready. Dear Eddie. Yeah. First of all, I want to thank you for helping us here in the community. Are you listening to this guy? No. We really appreciate it, even if that one over there doesn't. No. I know who she's talking about. That's right. Actually, the next line says, you know who I'm talking about. Well, there you go.
Anyway, my problem is with my teenage daughter. She is crazy. She's out of control. I've caught her with a boy in her room drinking and smoking cigarettes. She's only 14. I had her at a very young age and don't want her to end up pregnant at 17. The latest incident was I told her she could go bowling with her friends, but I showed up early to pick her up to see what was going on. She was sitting in some boy's lap twice her age and not wearing the outfit that she left the house with. I can't handle it. What should I do? That's P1 frustrated mom in Lemon Grove. Eddie? Dear Bull Miner's daughter. Oh, wow. Wow. Wow. Okay, this is very technical, guys. I got to deal with this, you know, from the books. Okay. You have what in the industry is known as a stupid little unruly teen or slut for short. Okay. I didn't know slut stood for something. The acronym is slut in the industry. Now, sluts are tough to deal with, but there are few. So you're using an acronym is what you're saying. It's the industry term. I don't have anything to do with it. What industry? The industry, Mike. Okay.
If I may, please let me help here. Sluts are tough to deal with, but there are a few home remedies to deal with this terror. First thing you can try is something that you may not be familiar with. It's called parenting. Okay, wow. Well, I mean, if your kid is breaking all these rules, then why are you letting her out to the bowling alley? She should be caged in the basement with the rest of the feral animals you find. Now, Sky, eventually they want out of their cage and they'll come around to your way of thinking. Now, if that doesn't work, next time she wants to go bowling, make her what I like to call the sky outfit. Okay, now once those kids see that grandma sweater and slippers, she will become so unpopular. Some people like to be comfortable. That would be a very provocative outfit for Skye. That would be a very provocative outfit. Especially for the bowling alley. That is true. It goes off. You know, she's going to become so unpopular, no one's going to want to hang out with her. Now, caution, there is side effects to this outfit, though.
What, Eddie? Oh, Mike, just listen every morning and hear what happens. That should take care of your slut. What does that mean? That's an acronym. It's an acronym. It's an acronym. It's an acronym. Stupid little unruly teen. There it is. Listen to each morning. Stupid little unruly teen. Skye. I'm offended. Can you hear it whispering in the wind? What? You can hear it coming up Claremont Mesa Boulevard. It's the sound of healing. Ah, you're welcome, San Diego. The Mikey Show. That's the ultimate hang zone. All right. Trench. Sky. I know I'm a loud talker. Sean. I cannot stand to watch people cry. Boss and Rob. I have a whole DVD collection of Red Sox, though. And Ashley. I do my part to help Global War meet. On Rock 105.3. This is a great song. This is a great song. Welcome back. It's a Mikey show. It is 7.54. There are a bunch of events scheduled today in San Diego and around the country to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Saints wide receiver Marcus Colston tore thumb ligaments, is going to miss four to six weeks, and is on my fantasy team. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. I don't know why I play fantasy football. Eddie put the funniest post on our website. It's a picture of a guy with a snake attached to his face, and the article's called Snake Bit.
Eddie's a little snake bit. Every week, I play, like, the best guy. That's not cool. You know, and I have okay weeks, but I just get killed. Like, I played Mike first week. Mike has the highest score by 30. Wow. I mean, he killed it this week, and I played him. Every week last year, he would play the guy with the highest score every week. Aw, bummer. Former Olympic gymnast and current Olympic gymnast. Wow. Shannon Miller and Chelsea Memel are coming into the studio right now. Wow, what an honor. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolutely. It's pretty cool. Right after the Olympics are wrapping up and everything, it's very, very cool. And two of them are in the studio right now because they're going to be taping a special at the sports arena. Oh, really? Yeah, it's going to be aired on ABC. It's called... Frosted Pink with a Twist. It's on Sunday, right? What does that mean? What does that mean, Shannon? Frosted Pink with a Twist is actually a show put together with a bunch of today's great music artists and then also a lot of the Olympic gymnasts. And it's to raise awareness for women's cancers primarily. That's cool. That's a good cause. So will you guys be performing while the music is going on? How will this work?
Yeah, well, there'll be, like, a mixture of things. Sometimes they'll just be the singers, and then sometimes we'll just perform to other music. But then there will be, like, duels. There'll be a singer, and someone will be performing with them. That's cool. That is really cool. So I want to know what age you guys started doing the gymnastics, because I know that in order to get to the Olympics and be as good as you are, you've got to do it when I'm guessing you're, like, two months old. In the womb. We'll start with you. We'll start with you, Shannon. How old were you? I was five years old. Five. Chelsea? Well, I started pretty much as soon as I could walk. Both my parents were gymnasts and own a gym, so I grew up in one. That's unbelievable. What do you do, the tumbling stuff? Yeah. Is that how you start? The tumbling. The tumbling? Yeah, you start with the little Ford Rolls. Yeah, a little salt. Playing on the monkey bars. Listen to this for Shannon. Shannon, by the way, the most decorated American gymnast. Wow, congrats. Seven-time Olympic medalist. Nine-time world medalist. And by the way, most decorated American gymnast, male or female. Wow. That'd be the boys. Yeah, there's not guys that can go, wait a second, hang on.
and she's won more Olympic and world championship medals than any other U.S. gymnast. Yeah, but Mitch Gaylord was an American anthem, and that was a rad movie. That's true. That is true. Well, Mitch and I share a birthday, so we have that in common. What's your birthday? What's your birthday? March 10th. Is that, what is that? That's not a Virgo. Pisces. There you go. Well, tell me about your experience, Shannon, and what your experience was like, because this was 04, right, for you. Wait a minute. You're very sweet to think that I'm that young. No, no, no. It was not 04. It was not 04. Was it? Tell me the year. It was Atlanta, right? I don't want to mess it up. My first one was 1992 in Barcelona, and my second with the two gold was in Atlanta. Yeah, I remember the Atlanta games. You were huge then. Yeah, Atlanta was amazing because it was on home soil. It was the first gold medal for the women's team and for Balance Beam. And just to have all the American flags and all of the people in the audience be there supporting us. It was amazing. I always ask this question. Where do you keep them? Do you have them locked up in a safe or what do you do? Usually they're in a safe deposit box, but right now they're on display at the Smithsonian.
Really? Wow. Oh, that was nice of you. So they'll do that. They will. And then you go, okay, I want them back. Yeah. They're on loan right now. But I figure they're pretty safe there. That's cool. And Chelsea Memel was a member of the 08. So you were just in China. Yeah. Yes, I was. What was it like? It was an overall great experience. I loved being in the village. That was one of the coolest things because you got to see different athletes from all the different countries. See that Kobe Bryant? I did, actually. Yeah, that was really awesome. You see those toddlers from the Chinese team? I mean, they were in onesies. Chelsea, tell me about that Chinese thing. Well, you know... Say it, they're cheaters. No, I'm not going to say that. You know, there's things that go on that we can't control. And, you know, if they are underage, then... Yeah, like everybody hits puberty at a different rate. Sky, they were like nine years old for crying out loud. I'm just saying people develop a different time. Oh, come on. What are we, children? We know. They're competing with their pull-ups. I mean... Come on. I'm a big kid now. How did you hear about that, Chelsea? Was it like, were people... They have eyes. Actually, no. We heard about it before with...
supposedly a fan actually read it because they had to be younger than like 15 for a competition that they had done. And then they had to be 16 for the Olympics. And it was like just the timing didn't work out. It didn't work. So that's how it developed. And then it just kind of snowballed from there. Is it true that you competed with a broken bone? No. In your ankle? What? Is that what it was? Was it in your ankle? Yeah, it was in my ankle. You should have got more publicity. Where's Bella carrying you off the thing? Where's your Wheaties box? That's amazing. Did it hurt real bad? During the competition, it didn't hurt at all, just with the adrenaline and everything. But all the practices and everything leading up to it, it was kind of painful. This is a question for both of you, but what do your coaches tell you in terms of, because you had competed on a very big level before going to the Olympics, but is it different competing in the Olympics in terms of your guts and your nerves and all that? My thoughts, I just look at it as just another competition. Yes, it's the Olympics, and you do have to understand how big of a stage you're on, and you do get a lot more publicity because everybody is.
everybody watches the olympics but um you just you just have to say it's just another competition and not let the nerves get to you it didn't get in your head that you were in the olympics um you know no not really i mean there's a few days no there are a few days you say okay wow i'm at the olympics and you kind of have your like i call them like freak out moments but then you you get over it shannon what about you You know, for me, I think my coach was so good about keeping me calm. And before every competition, whether it was, you know, the little level eight state competition or whether it was the Olympic Games, the last thing he said to me before I walked out on the floor was always, let's go have some fun. It wasn't about medals. It wasn't about you have to win. It was just let's go have some fun. And I think that kept it real for me. You know, this is it's a game. And yes, you have, you know, people watching and you want to do well, but you've done all the training. So now you just go and enjoy it. Do you ever get out there and do stuff anymore? Or once you're done with it, do you go, I don't ever want to see a mat the rest of my life? You know, you try to get away from it, but it keeps bringing you back. I'm actually, I'm in the show on Sunday, so I'm still doing it. Nice. I got a note here about Claritin commercials. Yes. That's you.
Is that you on the Claritin commercial? That is me on the Claritin commercial as well. Really? That's crazy. Do you really have allergies or are you just like, ooh, cool commercial? I do. I have been taking it for years, so that was an easy one for me. You're like, I don't even know what allergies are. What is that? Oh, no, I live in Florida, so. I take a Claritin. I got to take a Claritin every day with Nasonex. And if I miss a day, I'm like, I instantly get. Something wrong with me. I got to take that every day. Yeah, when I was younger, I was like, why do people take things for allergies? And then as I got older and they got worse, I'm like, okay, got it. You ever use that Medi pot? You ever use those? You ever seen this? It's the craziest thing in the world. My mom turned me on to this. It's this, for allergies, it's this little plastic pot that you fill with warm water. You put it in your nose and you tip your head to the side. I'm totally serious. They sell it at like... At the righty. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Zeth tried it and it almost killed him. He practically drowned himself when he tried to kill him. So let me ask you guys. Did you, well, first of all, Chelsea, this Michael Phelps stuff was off the Richter scale, okay? Off the Richter scale. Did you meet the guy? Did you talk to him and hang out?
Yeah, I did meet him a few times. We saw him, you know, in passing in the village and in the training room. And then just recently when we filmed the Oprah show, he was there as well. That's cool. What did you think of him? What kind of guy? Yeah, I think he's a nice guy. I mean, and just an incredible athlete. Did he try to eat you? Yeah, he eats a lot. This guy, they said that he eats like, what was the thing? Three sandwiches for breakfast, pancakes, and grits. Waffles, grits, potatoes. Yeah, it's crazy. I saw his. Yeah, he eats all day. I saw that in one of the magazines. Hey, I got a question. So we talked to one of these girls. We talked to the BMX girl that was in the BMX team. She got this terrible cold coming back from China. And she said a bunch of people were getting... Did you get sick coming back? No, I didn't get sick at all. You were fine? Yeah, I was okay. She had a boyfriend that also competed. He was in Australia. Do you guys... Is it... And this is a question for both of you. Is it cool to date other Olympic athletes? Do they frown upon that? What's the deal? I don't know if they don't frown on it or not frown on it. No rules about it. There's no policy.
Don't believe there's a policy. I mean, it's just kind of everyone's kind of thrown in together and it's really cool to meet other people. And it's it's also interesting because you grow up the same. You're kind of living in the same world. So it's just a little more natural for a lot of the sports. Romance. Did you guys have a romantic? neat, near love of your life while you guys were... We're a little young at that point. Well, it's true. No boyfriends. Eddie, did you have a question? Yeah, it's more for Shannon because you dealt with it more, but is that Bella Corolla? Is he crazy? He seems like he's a little off the rock. He does. He does. Bella is an interesting character. He's extremely enthusiastic. Holy cow. Did you see when he was freaking out on the TV this past month? He was freaking out. He's a very animated guy. He is extremely animated. Holy moly. Oh, wow. Is he still involved at all? I know his wife wasn't his wife. His wife, Marta Crowley, is the women's coordinator for the women's program in the United States. He is retired right now, so he does a lot of hunting.
in that sort of thing right now. Hey, Shannon, is the gold medal really super heavy? You know, each medal for each Olympics is different. Really? So some are heavier than others. Yeah, the Salt Lake ones are really heavy. I don't know about the Chinese. See, now she's dropping the names because she's like, well, you know, when I got the gold, this time wasn't as much as the gold the other time I got it. Toughest part about being a gymnast, what do you think is the hardest thing that you got? The hardest, what's the word? The hardest floor exercise or? Oh, the hardest event? Yeah, the hardest event. I think it depends on who you are. Like, for me, it was always vault. I just had a really tough time with that. I was, you know, this. twiggy little girl, and I couldn't get the power to get over the horse, so I didn't really like that one, but it kind of depends who you are. Me too. Toughest event for me, just because we're talking about it. You've got the height for a gymnast. That's right. Female. Chelsea, how about you? Mine's the same. Vault is my weakest event and least favorite. What was your favorite? I like bars. Ironically, mine. I did the best.
Now, that's what you competed in, right? Yes. In Beijing. Yeah. And didn't you fall? I did the first day. Yeah. Way to bring that up. Thanks. You're having fun. You're having fun. I just want to know. But she did it when it counted. She did. She did. And I'm not here to judge. Wow. You're judging. Listen. Everybody relax. That's it. There's a lot of judgment going on. I just want to know, like, when that happens, does your mind completely, do you lose it? What do you do? How do you recover? How do you get back? Well, you know, it is, it does. It really sucks when you fall. But, you know, you have to get back up. You have to finish your routine because it's not just for you. You are doing it for your team. So you just, you have to put everything back together. And then, you know, for the next day, I was, I knew I was going to hit it. Chelsea, will you be in London? Will you be doing the Olympics in London? Is that a bad question to ask? Is that like you're not supposed to ask that? No, you can ask that. I'm going to take it a year at a time. I'm definitely going to continue. I'm going to let my injuries heal and then, you know, take it from there. Yeah, how's the ankle? It's doing pretty good. It's healing. I'm almost at the six-week mark, so. That's cool. That's cool. Well, listen, they're going to be doing an event. It's called Frosted Pink with a twist.
And it's going to be on ABC. And you guys are taping this special at the sports arena. Do you know who some of the recording artists are? We do. We've got, oh my gosh, so many people. Cindy Lauper, Mario, Jesse McCartney, Kenny Loggins. I get to perform to Carole King, so I'm really excited. That's pretty cool. That's very cool. Chelsea and Shannon, thank you both very much for coming in here. It was very cool to talk to you guys. And when does it all take place? I mean, it's going to be aired on... Sunday. It's actually going to air on October 12th on ABC, and then it's going to be taped on Sunday at 6 p.m. So can people buy tickets and go? They can buy them there at the San Diego Sports Arena or at Ticketmaster. Very nice. Awesome. Very, very cool. Sweet. That is Chelsea Memel and Shannon Miller. I'm sorry I brought up the fall. Yeah, way to go. Way to go. So politically incorrect. Come on. You've got to take a time out. When we come back, we are going to play Rob's new song about Skye's Gopher. It's called Gopher in the Wind. Skye is shaking her head no right now. She doesn't want to hear it. She doesn't want to hear it. We have to. It's beautiful, Skye. It's a tribute. I doubt it. It's a tribute. We'll do that next. You're a small business person, so you're the buyer, the seller, the bean counter, the chief cook, and the bottle washer.

You've got South 15 jammed up, as always, pretty much out of Escondido from the 78 down of your Rancho Parkway. Heavy again now from Camino down north to get a Rancho Bernardo for a slow ride in towards Poway. The coaster ride's got some stuff to deal with here as well on South 5. Heavy out of Lucadia.
in a Solana Beach before you're back up to speed there. The Westbound 52, pretty jammed up off that 125 for a slow ride up the hill over the Mission Trail Summit. Westbound 8 is looking pretty good at La Mesa, but it does hit you right around the College area. From there, it's a slow one off and on in towards Texas Street, then again through Hotel Circle to the 5 Freeway. West 94 on the King Freeway, pretty jammed up as well. From Lemon Grove Avenue all the way to the 805, and then again from the 15 in the downtown. And things are improving a little bit out of the South Bay, actually, on both the 5 and the 805 northbound. A minor delay is now up to a national city on both these freeways. 805 gets you, though, as you come out of North Park. And that's a slow one up towards Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. And Northbound 5 is also seeing some heavy traffic past the 52 up towards the split. Or the merge, rather. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. From the Cricket Wireless Studios. Real good. I eat the gopher meat.
True. I would. I'm hungry. You put a delicious honey glaze on that thing. Stab that sucker with some cloves and we're in business. Baking a 350 for approximately two and a half hours. Back to the Mikey show on The Rock. I was trying to get into a groove with that interview. What did you think of the interview? Oh, I had a lot of fun. I was trying to get the right vibe, and I didn't know if I ever got the vibe going. I think it's interesting, man. Anytime you talk to somebody that competes on that level, it blows me away. I was real nervous in that interview. Really? I don't get nervous in interviews. I know. I think it was... I felt more comfortable. You know what? I know what it was. I just figured it out. What? I honestly thought that Shannon Miller was in the 04 Olympics. And when she came in, I'm like...
I bet she was in the 04 Olympics. And it was, like, in my head. And then I said it. And she's like, no, you know, I wish I was in it. And I'm like. And then she said Atlanta. And I was like, oh, man. She must think I'm the stupidest person. No. I don't. Aye, aye, aye. Oh, my. It is 8.15. Pam Anderson was on Ellen's show yesterday and addressed the rumors of her dating Michael Jackson. The Chargers move up former Aztec Antoine Applewhite from the practice squad to take Sean Merriman's spot. Seth played Madden 09 says it's a turd. What? Yeah. Eddie just rolled his eyes like, yeah, whatever. It is. He didn't like it? A turd. No, no. They're just getting a little too complicated for me. You know what I didn't like about the commercial? And I don't know what you thought about this. And Eddie will say, you'll probably say, it's about time. They eliminate stupid players like me. What? Yeah, irritating. Oh, when you get like a Madden points or what is it? Madden, he says in the commercial, he's like, you know, sometimes people go for it on fourth down. I hate that.
And so they penalize you if you do that. Oh, you're mad at an IQ. Yeah, you're mad at an IQ. It makes the player that you're playing with dumber. And so like on the next play, he's not that good. That sucks. Yeah, and I'm dumb. I got to play the stupid things and do stuff like that. You know not to go to a fourth and 26. Sometimes I'm like, I can do it, man. I can do it. They're making it as realistic as possible, which you should like. You love realism. I do, but I also like doing dumb stuff. When you first turn the game on, it has you take a little test to see where you're at with the game. Oh, really? So if you bomb at the test and you suck, you can still do stupid stuff. Oh, really? Yeah. You can still do okay? Yeah. How do you not like that, Seth? It basically makes the computer dumber. Yeah, but if you're good, the computer's smarter. Yeah, but I like smashing the computer. Like, I want 80 to nothing. Okay, I get what you're saying. I get what you're saying. I just figured it out. So that means it adapts. Okay, I get it. So that means that it adapts and it keeps the game close. Right. Eddie, wouldn't you want to beat the thing 117? That's not realistic. Can you turn it off? Yeah.
You should be able to turn off the Madden IQ feature. Yeah, if you turn it off, it takes it to a middle-of-the-road setting where it just kind of goes off of that. Quit crying, man. Hey, personal preference. I want to try it. Oh, by the way. I still don't have it if anybody wants to get it. What's up? I'll throw it out there, too. In fact, I guess you can throw it out there for all of us. We love you, EA Sports. That's right. Zest saw that Olbermann thing where he was going off on the 9-11 tribute stuff. Where did you see it? YouTube? No, he did it again last night on his show. He got fired, dude. He already got fired from MSNBC. Did he? No, no, he did not. I thought they took him off. Well, they took him off from being a live political correspondent. Oh. Matthews and Olbermann, they took them both because they felt that they were kind of being biased in their coverage of the convention. He freaked out. How dare you? So they were supposed to cover the debates, but they said, yeah, that's probably not the best idea after the backlash. Hey, dude, speaking of, have you seen what they did with Sunday Night Football now? Uh-uh. With that guy? Uh-uh. They brought back Dan Patrick. Yeah, they were good together before, right? What? I cannot watch it.
It's like, who can out-funny who? And neither one of them are really funny. I mean, Dan Patrick has got that kind of dry wit. But now it's like comedy class. Really? In every single play, it's like Oberman trying to be as funny as possible. I didn't see it. It is horrendous. Oh, man. Seth, did you watch this last week? Yeah, I saw it. Did you see how smarmy Tiki Barber is now? He's gotten that way. Dude, he's such a douche. What do you mean? He's very like... Oh, what did he say? He was saying something about a player that had a big game. And he's like, oh, I don't even know who that guy is. Really? You're a football analyst and you don't know who he is? You probably should. That's your job. He's very, I'm better than you. Very condescending. I hate that guy too. Wow. Make a list. There's a long list. I haven't seen it. I haven't seen it. And I was really. kind of looking forward to because all I had heard was, oh, they're reuniting Dan Patrick. And I'd never seen them. I'd never seen them when they were working together. No. So, and what did you think of them when they were? Really? Hey, listen. I love Dan Patrick. I think Dan Patrick is awesome. I cannot stand Keith Olbermann. I've never liked him. He's always too smart for the room. And, you know, now he's Mr. Yuck Yucks. And it's like, no. Just give me the sports, bro. Is he a Democrat?
He's a huge Democrat. Big time. Huge. Of course. I just figured it out, Sky. He hates Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly. They've been feuding forever. Don't we all? No. No, we don't. No, we don't. I thought we did. No, not all of us. He hates the truth, you know. No, he does not hate the truth. Well, liberals do. No, they don't. No, they don't. Kids hate the poor. This is weird. Tom Brady's torn his ACL and MCL. That's all. That's it? That's it? Rub some dirt on it, man. Get back out there. Hey, our quarterback did. He tore both those and rubbed some dirt on it? He played on a tour at the ACL in the championship game. Don't know if you remember that. How about that? He's a man. I don't know. Did he win that game? Did he win that game? Eddie's trying to high-five. Did he win that game before the high-five? Did he win the game? Where's Tom Brady right now? Did you hear me? Tom Brady is resting somewhere. Matt Castle. You know, it's 11. This is a real question. This is a real question. I don't want any real questions. It's 1121 on the East Coast right now. No jokes. What do you think Tom Brady is actually doing right now? No jokes.
No jokes, Eddie. It's impossible. It's impossible. It's impossible. Eddie's like, well, what am I supposed to do then? What do I do? What do you think he's actually doing? Is he watching, like, film in a Stetson ad? He says no jokes. Sorry. What? Jerk. The guy, it's got to be, because what would he normally be doing? Right now, he'd be in film school. He'd be going to school on the Jets. He's got some ice on his leg or his knee or whatever. Elevated. And is he watching TV at home? You don't think he's at the training center, dude? He's got something more futuristic than TV, dude. Dude, I bet you he's watching Happy Days with ice on his knee. For real. Family Matters, I think. He's watching an According to Jim on Marathon. Kind of a drastic subject change. And we'll get to Boston Rob's song here in just a second. But how is it possible that you get two actors like Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in a brand new movie and it looks terrible? That's a great question. How is that? You know, I mean, the two of those guys, when was the last good movie they made? Dude, Heat, I think. Seriously.
Yeah. I mean, that's the only movie they've ever been in together. That was a good movie? He was awesome. He was great. He was really good. Do you see what I mean? Like, every opinion is different. I get it. It's because it's a guy thing, right? You don't like the violence. No, here's my problem. Like, for some reason, I believe De Niro and Pacino look a lot alike. And so the whole movie. The whole movie. movie i thought they were like the same person glasses on right now by the way just so you know like the whole movie i thought they were the same person and i like glasses look like a nutty professor i could not figure it out i mean sky who can take you seriously about anything i mean it wasn't a drive-in so it's kind of hard to like you know drive-ins are kind of hard does your husband does your husband own the movie heat no He doesn't? He needs to get his guy card taken away. Yeah, he does. That's a citation. Guy citation, for sure. Oh, yeah, yeah. Guy citation. It's 100% worth it just for that bank scene. It's not a warning. He's definitely getting a ticket for that. That bank scene is maybe the best bank heist scene. But what you got to do is you got to figure out who's who.
Oh, boy. You destroyed Mike on that one. You got to take your surround sound and you got to crank it up on that scene. You know what makes that scene so great? There's no stupid music. There's no music in that scene. All you hear is bullets. Sounds like a blast. Look at this. Like looking in a mirror, isn't it? They look nothing alike. Like looking in a mirror. They look a lot alike. Which one's which? I don't know. One of them has a mole. Send that to Shawnee O'Boy so he can put that on the website. Excuse me. That's a bad example. Yeah, send me a picture of those two twins. If their twins are fraternal. Yeah, I don't know what's up with their movie choices lately. Actually, that new one looks really good. Give me a break already. In The Godfather Part II, while they were both in the film, they were never on the screen at the same time. In the movie Heat, they finally met face-to-face for just one pivotal scene. And it was great. But now in what can only... They do. Sky, come on. Well, they're older now. Now they look different. But when they were younger. Yeah, when they were younger. Spitting image. Spitting image.
It may be called a momentous event. They star together in the new film Righteous Kill. They are not the easiest men to interview, and they have never granted a side-by-side television interview until today. How many years have you known, Chuck? Now, which one of you is which? Who's who here? If your name is Robert, can you raise your hand? Al, you were in Cape Fear, right? They're being interviewed by Brian Williams, which is weird. I bet I know. I bet because they didn't want to get up early. Maybe. They're that big a star. They didn't want to get up early. They didn't want no tough interview from Matt Lauer. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The 60s? In the 60s. Yeah, the 60s. When do you first remember being aware of Al? Well, I was aware of Al. He was doing a play. Tiger wears a necktie. What was the... What? How dare you. Right? I mean, how dare you. He was doing Camelot. He was 14.
West Valley High School, and I saw him. It was the first play called Porcupine Bowtie. You're all aware of that, right? It's an off-Broadway piece. Really good. You remember being aware of his name or his face? It's interesting you would ask that, because I remember the first time I saw you. Is that Craig Gass? Craig Gass does a better Pacino than Pacino. I was thinking that, too. 14th Street. Between Avenue B and... Get Craig on, Ash. Let's get Craig Gass on the line. I was with my girlfriend at the time, who was Jill Claybrook. Yeah, you know what I mean? That was Jill. Now, she had a mechanic, Steve Michelson. This guy used to go to Denny's and get the Grand Slam. This is all information we don't need. Anyway, a hairstylist named Jess. You guys are really not interesting. And her brother on the house in Seattle. Wait, what? I don't care. Used to be partial to Chrysler. What?
That really is a very good actor. To clear your throat. This is how he talks. Energy. When you scream in every performance, this is what happens. I remember that impression he had a real energy and you could tell he had a certain fire in him. Speaking of energy, in watching the movie, you realize that it's terrible. Really your natural habitat. is the city of New York? How much energy do you derive that comes up through the streets of the city? What does that even mean? I don't know. What a cookie-cutter, boring question for a cookie-cutter, boring movie. They should have put them with Lauer. Lauer would be like, Robert, you only date black women. Why? New York's a great city. It always is changing into what it is at the moment, and that's... As it should be. We were both born here. We were born here, right? Yeah. We were born in Manhattan. Everywhere you go, you can feel a different life. What do you think about Atlanta? And we all know what day it is. Well, this was taped ahead of time. So what do you mean we all know what day it is? Oh, for goodness sake. Where were you on that fateful day?
Bob, especially all you've done to help the city. How often do you get frustrated at, let's call it, six to seven times a day? The lack of progress since 9-11 downtown. It is surprising that it's taken this long to get to a point. Man. By the way, their pictures are up on MikeyShow.com. Will you stop it? You decide. Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. Sky thinks that part of the problem is that they look so similar. Let's think about the time of year that was. She's at a drive-in. Oh, please. What do you think she was doing? Stoner. It's hard to tell the difference between, you know, when you're seeing four of them on screen. Well, it was kind of smoky in the car. Kind of. Your eyes are all squinty. And, you know, it's not good to see a dark movie at a drive-in, you know. It's not a dark movie. There's some dark scenes.
Hey, Sean, where do we go? Where do we go? It's right under new on the show. It says De Niro and Pacino twins, according to Sky. Brutal. It's a bad example, those pictures. What? I'm just saying. It's perfect pictures of them. You're a perfect picture. That is true. She got you there. She kind of got you on that one. That was a really good one. She kind of got you on that one. Yeah, now what, Sean? Sky has a list of Forbes. Most overpaid actors. Yeah, now we did this list a while back of, you know, the actors that deserve their pay, that bring in, you know, for every dollar they're paid. But this is the opposite. Barack Obama. He makes a lot per picture. Big time actor. So these are guys that they pay him a lot, but they don't make very much money. Ashley is not a fan. Get him out of here. She just wants to attack Kirsten Dunst. She's the worst. McConaway. She's not in the top ten. McConaway. I would say... Oh, Dick Van Patten. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Huh? Way overpaid. Adam Sandler. None of his pictures do as well as they think. No. Adam Sandler. Kevin Costner. Kevin Costner. Who's that guy that was in Bill and Ted's in Speed? Keanu Reeves. Keanu Reeves. No? Patrick Swayze.
Yeah, what about Patrick Swayze? Patrick Swayze. Patrick Swayze. Patrick Swayze. Patrick Swayze. De Niro. Pacino. Craig Gass. Spongebob. Thomas the Train. Shirley MacLaine. Heath Ledger. Too soon? Way too soon, I think. I think we might be too soon. I think we might be too soon. And I think that Dark Knight would have changed that. I thought it was good timing. It was bad timing. John Favreau. Oh, yeah. Estelle Getty, too soon. John C. Reilly. Hey, hey, come on. These are all celebrities that are still alive for the record. John Cusack. Sidney Poitier. Angelina Jolie. John Travolta. John Travolta is a good guess, actually. Pit? Pit's not on there? Mm-mm. See if it's listed under...
Just pity. Orlando Bloom. Does it just say pity? Oh, I got it. What is it, Eddie? Matt Damon. Oh, yes, it's got to be, right? Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Of course not. Matt Damon. What about this, bro? 5701053. Correct. What about Ben Affleck? Matt Damon. What? Ben Stiller. Jennifer Garner? Jennifer Garner's number two on the list for every dollar she was paid. The movie company brought in $3.60. So what's good? That sounds good to me. She pays $3 on the dollar. Can't get those odds at the Del Mar racetrack. There it is. Well, the surf meets the turf. Isn't that good? $3 to the dollar? Let's go. That means they spend, you know, let's say they pay her $100,000. They make $300,000. That's a profit. It's a good day. But she's not the only actress in the movie. I mean, you know, as the star of the movie, you know, you're kind of in charge of bringing it all to go. Well, I'm just seeing that it's going in the green, not the red. I wonder what, like, real good is. Like, I wonder how much an actor... Like Matt Damon? Yeah, Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Or, like, Burt Reynolds? Oh, yeah. Yeah. What? Like, Burt Reynolds. What about Mikey Mikey? Mikey Show. Who's this? It's you and babe.
Who do you think is overpaid? Tom Cruise. Yes. Tom Cruise? Really? Tom Cruise, number three. For every dollar he was paid, his movies averaged a $4 income. Is this like a certain year? Yeah, 1989. Did I mention that? Oh, yeah. Well, with Jennifer Garner, they talk about, you know, Elektra and how much that costs to make. Oh, yeah. Oh, somebody's got a great one. I bet they're right. P1 Adam, who do you think's on there? Nicholas Cage. Bet you're right. Yeah, Nick Cage is number seven, $4.16 to every dollar he's paid. P1 Carl. Hey, I would say we should probably go with Lopez. Jennifer Lopez is number five, $4.10 for every dollar she's paid. You're telling me that Made in Manhattan. Oh, it was so good, too. Did not earn that movie company. Billions of dollars. Yeah, they talk about monster-in-law, El Caliente. Oh, no, that's not what it's called. That's what I called it last time. What is it called? El Caliente. Sound it out. Hooked on phonics. Oh, boy. Cantante? No, that's all right. Guy. He's the best. You know what I mean. Yeah. Pew on word herd.
Samuel L. Jackson. No. Morgan Freeman. What do you think of that new movie he's got coming up? Morgan Fairchild. Oh, it looks good, Eddie. Oh, it does not look good. Are you kidding me? That movie looks awesome. An unlawful entry called. It wants its plot back. Oh, look, okay. It's a little bit like Pacific Heights. So what? It's another great movie. It looks so terrible. It does not. How many times did that movie? Really bad. He will see anything. No, I won't see just anything. And he'll love it. He will love it. He will come back and be like, you guys got to go see this. Oh, right, because nobody likes a thriller. P1. P1 what? Mecha Jam? Huh? P1 Mecha Jam? No, Mecha Jam. P1 Mecha Jam. Yeah. How about Eddie Murphy? Oh. Yes. Yeah. Number one. Stupid movie with a little Eddie Murphy and a big Eddie Murphy. Come on. Sky, come on. He's not even on a list? No. This list sucks. That's impossible, dude. That's impossible. Liam Neeson. Sir Albert Finney. Sir Elton John. Yeah, what about Sir Elton John's films? What about Tommy Kong?
Oh, be nice. David Keith. Don Johnson. I'm mean. Keith Carradine. Daniel Day-Lewis. What about Melissa Torme? Mel Torme. What are we missing? Melissa Gilbert. Ah, there it is. Gilbert Gottfried. So are you ready? No. Number 10, Cate Blanchett making just under $5 for every buck she's made. Yeah, because all her films are real smart. No one cares. Hello, Lord of the Rings, bro. Yeah, didn't that factor in? Does it factor in at all? Indiana Jones. Hello. Number 9, Will Ferrell making about $4.60. Dude, for real? His movies don't make that much? You know, with a lot of these people, it's hit or miss. They'll have a nice big one, but then they'll do like three.
Junkie ones, you know. Great story. Compelling and rich. Number eight, Drew Barrymore. I was going to guess her. Of course. You hate her, too. I love her. Let's see. Number six. Oh, you like her. I love Drew Barrymore. Oh, okay. Number six is Jim Carrey. Really? Yeah, but then he'll make like 27. It was 23. I thought it was 29. Isn't it 25? I thought it was 25. Hey, he's got a new movie coming out. It looks good to me. Jim Carrey's got a new movie coming out. It looks good to me. It's called Yes. It's called Yes. It looks good. It's perfect for him. Is that funny? Yeah, it's a dude that's... It reminds me a little bit of Liar Liar. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, that kind of concept. That was a great movie. Look funny, though. That was definitely a great movie. Number four, Cameron Diaz. And then finally, number one on the list... Ice Cube. ...is Nicole Kidman. They say for her movies, for every dollar she was paid, she grossed a dollar.
What? Are you serious? Yeah, that's not good. You mean people don't really want to go see her new epic film, Australia? No, they actually say that that one's going to be huge and could earn her an Oscar. Oh, most of her movies can earn her an Oscar. But they say things like The Golden Compass, The Invasion. The Interpreter. They were turds. Terrible. The Interpreter, that was bad. I saw that film. It was awful. Can't ever get those two hours back. I know it. Our text number is 35253. Welcome back. It is 8.52. Well, some breaking news. Kanye West was arrested this morning at LAX for felony vandalism. Whoa! What the heck did he do? They don't know? They're not saying yet? Oh, no. They're saying. What did he do? Okay, so I guess he was in the American Airlines terminal at LAX, and a photographer was there. This is all according to TMZ.com. A photographer was there trying to take pictures of Kanye.
And also TMZ was also there, but it sounds like from what I'm reading, not as obtrusive as the other photographer. So TMZ is there with their video camera and this other photographer is there trying to get pictures of Kanye. Kanye allegedly confronted the photographer. They got into a little bit of some words and then Kanye allegedly smashed the dude's camera to the ground. And that's when, I guess, Kanye noticed the TMZ camera there as well. And they were photographing the whole thing. So at that point, Kanye's assistant goes after the TMZ cameraman. They start struggling over the tape. The video camera hits the ground and breaks. Kanye realizes what's going on, runs over to the TMZ guy and screamed at him, give me the effing tape. Because obviously the tape is evidence of Kanye assaulting the first guy. Sure, Kanye, here you go. Right? And so they say both. This is only worth $100,000. Right? So both Kanye and his assistant have been arrested and are being booked. And the charges they say could be felony vandalism. Really? Crazy. Dude. This just happened? Yeah.
They just posted it up on TMZ, and they said they're in the process of loading the actual video footage from their camera, which should be up on their site, they say, soon. Wow. So it didn't break. Well, the tape didn't break. Yeah, the camera did. The camera did. But the tape was still intact, or the disc, or whatever they used. I'm surprised they'd do that. I would think they would be shooting on those, you know, tapeless. Maybe the hard drive saved. I'm not exactly sure what they were using. But, yeah. That's what the guy should have said. I don't have any tape. Right. It's a hard drive. You dummy. Yeah, nuts. Text messages at 35253. Mikey, I saw Wipeout the other night. It's one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. B-Roll has to get on that show. Awesome. You're going to your audition on Saturday, right? Saturday morning. There it is. Yeah, I've got to go up to Burbank, which everyone keeps telling me that's wicked far from here. Burbank? Yeah. Hour and a half? That's it? Someone told me yesterday three hours. Oh, come on. And I was like, well, great. Now I have to get up at like 5.30 and drive up there. On Saturday? You'll be fine. Okay, cool. You'll always leave yourself extra time. Leave two hours early, but you'll be fine. Oh, I planned it right to the minute. We know you. Yes, we know. I could show up right on time. He's going to miss this and then not get on. No, I'm not. No, I'm not. No, I'm not. Yes, Rob, it takes three hours. It takes three hours to get to Burbank. Tell him three hours. Takes three hours, right?
What are you going to be there? What time you got to be there? 2.20. So what time will you be there? I was planning on getting there at noon. Really? Yeah. That shocks me. Yes. Will it actually happen? No. He'll leave here at noon. Well, I figured if I left at 10, that gives me... Which for Rob means 11.30. No. Uh-uh. Not when I got my... He's always late. Not when I got my fiance with me. You're always late. She stays right on top of it. You know, 10 o'clock, we're in the automobile, moving. Now, do you guys think his hair can work against him? Yeah, you better shave that thing. I mean, I don't know if TV crews are going to... Well, what can he do with it? I don't know. Mohawk it. No, I put some jealous mohawk. Yeah, do a mohawk, dude. Might get you on TV. Yeah. That won't scare them? Yeah, what if it does? No. He's a hooligan. Do they have people that are kind of craziness? They want that kind of look. Rob. Mohawk it? On the air. El Sarissa's punching her radio right now. You can shave it off once you're done. Maybe. Why not? If it's going to get me on TV. Diet pink. What am I, rich Mike? Hot pink. What am I, Bill Gates? What do I look like, Donald Trump over here? Or my Warren Buffett?
I'll just put some Pepto-Bismol on it. Ew. Let it dry. Yes. In the sun. Yuck. Skye had a gopher. Please, Mike. That's not. Had. Eddie did a sign of the cross. It was a gopher, a good gopher. Well, it wasn't. It was ruining her yard, Mike. It's true. So it was doing its life's work. Yeah. She'd made it clear to her husband that... She wanted it dead? According to MapQuest, Rob, Burbank is 2 hours 18 minutes. Oh, wow. Okay. Leave by 10. You'll be good. All right. So, Sky to Gopher, she wanted to dispose of the gopher in a humane way. I wanted to get rid of it. I didn't want to dispose of it, Mike. I was just hoping to get it to leave. Leave it a note? Yeah.
Really? She left a message on its gopher answering machine. I sent it a text. Well, her husband finally had enough. He killed it. Did we find out how he killed it? Like a knife or a gun? He had a conversation with one of our neighbors. And he had to go. He ended up going to some little country store in Escondido that sells these. things that he refers to as a black box. Wow. Sounds bad. So it catches him in the black box? And I guess it chops her head off. I don't know exactly what it chops or doesn't chop. Yeah, like they stick their head in it and it's like guillotine. Wow. Swap. It does something. Well, Skye found the remains and was not happy. She started to cry. And then her. I wasn't expecting it, and we had a discussion that we were going to, you know, exhaust everything else first. Tears of joy, Mike? No. Well, the yard is going to be good now. No, it's probably not, because there's more gopher holes, and our neighbor, a couple doors down, says he's already killed three in his yard in the last couple weeks. Light them up. That's right. Well, it's a very, very sad thing, and so boss and Rob, yes. For who?
I was sad. This will make you feel better. The good life, too, in the trash bin. Not knowing what hit you, shovel to the chin. And yet we're your next of kin. If gophers had a honey glaze, your life would have been saved. Man, I could really go for some ham right now.
I could go for laying on the sun. Shut up. Wow. I could go for a lot of things, but that's not the point right now. Right now, it's about gophers. The daily departed gopher. This guy says they've been killing. I did not insist on killing. How dare you? Do not spread these rumors. It's beautiful. No, it's really not. Great vocal. No. The lyrics, Steve, Eddie, you are not crying. Eddie... Eddie's dabbing his eyes with Kleenex. No. He's dabbing his... Oh. Really got him. Really got him. I know where he's coming from. That's right. Wow. Sorry, dude. I didn't think he would catch me like that. Really sad, right? Well, there's more Rob's vocals than anything. I get what you're saying. Oh, my gosh. 570-1053 is our phone number. And our text is 35253. Not cool. So...
Have you guys discussed what you're going to do from this point on? Oh, Mike. Yes, we did. Are you guys going to kill gophers? And my home is apparently now a slaughterhouse. Oh, wow. Hey, listen. It got rid of the first one. Well, what I did ask, if possible. Did you read them their last rights? Well, because I, you know, because I was hoping his little trap thing, we could just, like, let him... free somewhere else. Without their heads? Well, and that's when he explained to me, no, the trap actually kills them, and I didn't want to know anymore. And I didn't really have the energy to fight. We're going to do a boo-gun salute. And I knew I didn't have much of an argument because all of my attempts have failed. So I just asked him, please, if you happen to, you know.
kill another gopher, can you at least throw it over the fence so at least something can eat it? What the heck? So now you want coyotes to come into your yard? Well, they won't come into my yard, but they're there anyway, so at least instead of it rotting in my trash can, something is getting nourished. Aren't you calling them in now? Well, they're there anyway. The hawks. The hawks, yeah. I see them trotting down the street all the time. It's like throwing chum in the water. That's right. Well, we're going to throw Chum in the water then because I feel horrible having it just, you know, run away in the trash. Why don't you borrow Tail and Snake? That's right. They'll take care of it. Put him in one of those holes, it'd be good. Yeah, but doesn't Tail and Snake like live stuff? And this is certainly dead, Eddie. I'll tell you that much right now. I'll put the snake in the hole. Snake in the hole! That's right. And then how do you get the snake out? Just call it. Mikey Show. Hello. Hi, I'm just trying to let know how Sky, that little gopher thing, died. Yes. I don't want to know. I don't want to know. Sky just took her headphones off. Sky just took her headphones off.
Oh, it suffocates. Oh, no, Skye. That's the person I ever could have imagined. Stop it. Skye, you're a horrible person. I don't know what he said. Stop it. It's terrible. Skye, suffocates. No, shut up. Eddie, you just repeated it. I thought she heard. Maybe she didn't. You can email her. That cannot be true. You can email her. That's a terrible thing to say, Rob. Oh, man. Skye at KIOZ. But anyway, I mean, don't do it for sure. Maybe we could do like a telethon for the gopher. For what? Like a little gopher-thon? Yeah, the gopher-thon. Maybe Sky could just send them to families in third world countries. Oh, that's a good idea. Dude, they would eat them so good. That's right. Get some gopher milk. Eddie, can you get Ted Lang on the phone? He played gopher, right? Isn't he the guy that played gopher? No, he wasn't. What's him call it? Fred... Durst. That's right. Fred Durst. Fred Durst. There he is, gopher. There he is. Wait till I read you this email when we come back. This dude is upset with his HR department for something that we can all relate to. He's upset at them. And I'll tell you why. Next. See myself in the... You sound like whining little kids. This is the Mikey Show.

by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Otherwise, looking pretty good on our freeways right now. Things are cleaning up quite nicely. No big major problems. You've got southbound side of the 5. Still just a bit slow here as you come in towards right around Birmingham Drive. The South 15 is looking much better as well. That's just got some slow traffic left over here as you come down out of Escondido. Actually, the Escondido ride's looking pretty good. You'll have a minor delay through Rancho Bernardo off and on down towards the 56. Westbound 52, full speed, 894, all looking good. And even the 805 northbound out of the South Bay has just a brief slowdown at Governor Drive, and then you're good to go. I'm McLaurin on Rock 105.3. From the Cricket Wireless Studios. He's not playing around. He's not joking. K-I-O-C. San Diego's Rock 5.3. Now back to Mikey. I love football so much. Eddie. I have a very strong sensitivity to smells. Skye. I smoked so much pot in high school those years. I blew my brain out. What do you want from me? Sean. Pet Shop Boys are one of my favorite groups. Boston Rock. I wish I was smarter so I could fight this better. And Ashley. I am a very, very twitchy person, and I feel like it's because I have ADD. The Mikey Show is on Rock 105.3. I remember this.
Isn't this Santana? Yep. One of the best albums ever, Mike. That's right. Supernatural? Oh, so good. That album sold like 90 gabillion records. I love it. My wedding song's on that album, Mike. That's right. The thong song is on it. No, that is not my wedding song. That was your wedding song. My wedding song. It was Dave Matthews and Santana doing Love of My Life. Oh, that's right. I always get it confused with the thong song. I was way off. You were... Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show at 9-11. A brush fire that started by a failing catalytic converter burned over 300 acres along the 52 yesterday. Fantasy football update for you fantasy footballers. Brian Greasy going to get the start for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over an injured Jeff Garcia this week. What's the matter with him? He's got a lot of injuries.
He's hurt? Like bad stuff? He should probably be fine for the following week. Let's see. Who went to high school with Jeff? Yeah. He's a good player. He's a gamer. That's right. Let's see. This email says, Skye, kill one and stick it on the spike in the front yard to send a message to the other ones. It does. I mean, I guess it does keep them away. First of all, it's my backyard, and I don't think... Stick it in the backyard, then. Well, I don't think it would do the trick. Remember that human tree in 300? Oh, yeah. Do that with gophers, man. That's right. Do it with gophers. No. Do that. Stop it. Stop all of this talk. Then push it over and start fighting. Oh, yeah. That's right. That is how you do that. No. Let's see. Today is the seventh anniversary of 9-11.
And they are commemorating in New York City. I guess Obama and McCain are going to speak there today. Yeah, both of them have pulled all their political ads for the day out of respect. That's cool. Yeah, and then, of course, we have some events going on locally here today if you want to participate in something. There'll be something going on at the San Diego Civic Center, downtown, 10 to 3, decorated fire trucks, badges, a piece of the World Trade Center, a ceremony at noon. The USS Midway from 2 to 5, they'll be reading off all the names of the deceased, and then they'll end it up with a helicopter flyover and a 21-gun salute. So that's 2 to 5 today. And then the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center in Balboa Park, they're doing their annual Freedom Walk starting at 6 o'clock, opening ceremonies at 7, and then you walk, and then they end it with a candlelight vigil. So that'll be going on in Balboa Park. And, of course, today you can give blood and bone marrow.
The San Diego Blood Bank is doing their seventh annual drive today. Nine to three, Balboa Parks Hall of Championship. Donors will get a Never Forget t-shirt, a pair of concert tickets when supplies last, and Pat and Oscars will be out there with breadsticks and salad for everyone. Ike's out in the Gulf freaking out. Oh, yeah. He's getting all mad. Eating stuff up. Yep. What is he, a two or a three? Is he currently a four? Ooh. I know they say they're expecting when he comes ashore Saturday, early Saturday, category four. Ooh, that's bad. Katrina was a five, I think. I think it was as big as you'd get. It's real bad. I don't think it's going to hit Texas. So millions of people are evacuating in Texas. I don't know anything. Well, I'll tell you what I based it on. I get that when I look at pictures, satellite pictures, I get this gut feeling. I go, I don't think it's going this way. I think and I get this. It would have to go direct directly north, like change completely. It's 90 degree angle. It has started to move north, but it's moving northwest. I mean, it's slightly headed north. Yeah, they say right now, you know, with most hurricanes, it's following the path of least resistance, which leads it to Texas.
No. Not New Orleans. Louisiana. Louisiana. Not New Orleans. They've had enough. Not New Orleans. You're trying to will it there. Some people still don't have power from the last hurricane. I'm telling you that when I look at it, it's starting to make this dip directly north. Now, it's moving to the west, no doubt about it. There it is. You hear that? Wow. He just texted me. He's like, no, dude, I actually am just going straight west. Mikey, you guys are awesome. I'm from Tennessee and need a good station in the morning. I teach ballroom dancing and all you can get. And you can all get free lessons if you want them. Come on, Sky. Yeah. Dancing with the stars. Let's do this. Mikey show, Dancing with the Stars. I'm in. Let's all pair up with the listener and dance. I am sorry. Come on, Mike. You're in. Mike's in. Yep. I'm not a dancer. Mike's known as the king of the mambo. King of the Macarena. That is true. That is true. I'm really good at the Macarena. The twist. The twist? Let's see. Mikey, I love Boston Rob's song. Boom goes the dynamite. When's the best of CD going to be dropped? That's P-1. What's hampooning? We will have a best of CD this year. Drop it like it's hot, Mike. And very, very soon, we are going to have a date for the 28-hour broadcast.
For 2009. Yep, we are postponing it until next year. Oh, my goodness. Due to Hurricane Ike. We call it the 28-hour show. No. It happens once per year. Don't talk about it. It's a very special event where we go on the air for 28 straight hours with no commercial breaks. No music. No music. No commercial breaks. And this goes on and on and on and on. And if you don't believe us, call us at 2 o'clock in the morning. We'll be on the radio. Delirious, but we'll be there. That's right. I don't want to be there. It's always an enormous event. And from what I've heard from our promotion department, it's only getting bigger. Great. They are going to do it up, as they say. In my head right now, I know the exact date of the 28-hour broadcast. But I can't tell you yet.
Now, here's what I think. I want to make sure that people do have time because you know how a lot of times I go, hey, come on, you got to do this. You got to do this. You got to do this. And I'm really pushing something. This one. Hey, listen, it's your guy's call. You do whatever you want. All I know is that people started doing it. I didn't have anything to do with it. I still don't. But I tell you that I'm going to give you the date soon because I know some people want to take the day off. Now, I've never encouraged it. I've never said, oh, you got to take the day. I mean, if you want to. Whatever. But people do. They take the day off and they make it into Woodstock here. We had like 200 people tailgating outside our window last year. And basically what it is, is it's exactly what you have right now just for 28 straight hours. And at nighttime, we watch a couple of movies and we make fun of the movies like the show Mystery Science Theater 3000. It's pretty cool.
And we all wear pajamas for 28 hours. Oh, that's so good. It's pretty great. That's the best part of it. Yeah, it really is. So people say, I've told people about it, and people go, man, you guys must drink a lot of Red Bull. I can't. You know, you guys don't do it either. I do. You do the Red Bull? I'm cracked out the entire time. So you drink it the whole time? Yeah. Well, what I do is I take, like, well, last year. Because I started my Adderall. I took my Adderall, like, when I started to crash at about 10 p.m., and I had to start doing all my, like, crazy busy work, like editing, like a mad woman, and my brain is like spaghetti, and so I took another Adderall. Oh, my gosh. That night. So then I was all crashed out on Adderall throughout the night, and then I, meanwhile, was drinking coffee and monster drinks, and it was great, and then I was able to stay awake the whole time. This is great. Worked really well. It was a great strategy. No, it's a bad idea, and I don't encourage anyone to do it. No one should do that. But it is an experience, and it's a lot of fun to listen to. So very soon, we will be telling you when that's going to happen. They know who the next spokesperson, the next face of cover girl is going to be. Now, this isn't a big deal for dudes. I mean, we don't use makeup or anything like that, but we see it, you know. We see it on TV, see it on billboards. Tom Brady.
Ah, shut your mouth. What's your problem? You. Close, Eddie? Tom Brady's not a female. He does stuff like that. No, he doesn't. Yeah, I've seen him. He's a jerk. Oh, come on. I thought he wears like a... He wears like a... How about that? No, wait a minute. I've seen Tom Brady dressed like a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader. Yes. That was Zeph. Oh, that was... That's right. It was Zeph. So some of the previous cover girl spokeswomen include Christy Brinkley, Faith Hill, Rihanna, Drew Barrymore. It's right along those lines. Yeah, Tom Brady. It's right along those lines. Sky, who's the new one? Well, Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Ellen DeGeneres has signed on to be the next cover girl spokesperson. Nice! That's correct, Eddie. And getting $1 million for the campaign. Yeah! Yeah, Ellen's a woman. Well, they offered it to Owen Wilson. Uh-huh. Whatever. He's worth it. Then they offered it to Lance Bass. They had a look in mind. That is great. Yeah, I think that's cool. That's so gross. She's going to kill it. Why is that great? She doesn't even wear... I know, that's what I was thinking. They'll probably be promoting some sort of natural look makeup. Sure, but I enjoy anything she does. I mean, you give her anything and she's able to put her own twist on it and make it seem natural.
She's funny. She doesn't do that much, man. Yeah, right. Okay. Why don't you try getting salesperson of the year four years in a row, all right? Oh, no. Click Channel Dallas, all right? All right. You're great. You're the best. Woodsy, I'm not bringing it up. I'm not bringing it up to... No, dude. I don't even work in that building anymore. Oh, gosh. Ice to an Eskimo, bro. Okay, that's what you can see. You're great. You're a great salesperson, all right? You can sell ice to an Escanal. Dude, I'm in pharmaceutical sales now, dude. You know what? You kill it, all right? You can sell the heck out of Advil, bro. I've got my territories, all right? You're great, all right? I know your territory. You're great. You know what your territory is? The United States of America, bro. No, dude. I'm not patronizing you, dude. No, I'm not patronizing you, dude. You're real good, all right? And, in fact, I need some hypofloxin. You got any of that in your briefcase there, bro? What? What do you got? Come on. What do you got? Come on. Sell it to your boy. What do you got? Whoa. Spitting again. Just put Nicorette all over my car, dude. It's everywhere now. You're spitting in my BMW. Dude, I spit out the window. You did? The window's rolled up, bro. You spit out the window and the window rolled up. I don't know how to work this electric gadget. That's my fine... Electric gadget. That's my fine Alcanta dashboard. That's great. I don't know what you're talking about. Some J-Lo movie. That's great. Time by J-Lo. Congratulations.
Congratulations. There's a brown little piece of tobacco stuck to my windshield right now. Stop spitting in my car, Woodsy. You're disgusting. What do you want me to do, dude? Swallow it? Why do you have to spit when you smoke cigarettes, bro? I'm on my own, dude, and I'm classy. Classy. Dude, rowing your own isn't classy, all right? Poor people do that. Now, Boston Rob thinks you're disgusting, all right? Boston Rob just looked at you and said, wow, you're poor. That kid's a Red Sox fan. Dude, he's a clown. It's true, he's a clown. Big red floppy shoes. Did you guys know that BlackBerry introduced a new phone yesterday? It's like a flip phone. Really? Yeah, Blackberry unveiled their first Blackberry flip phone. It's called the Flaboosh. It's called the Blackberry Pearl Flip. And, you know, it's now. Send me the link. I want to see what it looks like. Yeah, send me the STML on that one. Wait, SMTL. Yeah. Send me the link. Who's got an STD? I think we can figure it out.
It's not that hard, really. We can't tell you who, but he's got Boston. Oh, is that it? Yep. Come on. Dude, they're ripping off everybody's phone. That's small, too. Like, how are you supposed to type on that? Ain't no iGig, eh, Mike? That's right. Ain't got no iGig. You got to get the iGig, dude. Then kills it. Rolls it cigarettes for you. Yeah, real good. I can't afford it. Great. This says, Mikey, is this Seth's first 28-hour show? I hope he cries of exhaustion on the air. That's on P1 Sam. Odor, is this your first or no? Nope. Second one? Yeah. You were there last year? Yeah. Oh, remember? Oh, God. That was his moment. That was the worst. Thank you. That's right.
Seth was supposed to dance, and then something happened. He got on stage. Well, no, Mike, please. He stood up there, remember? Well, he stood up there. Yeah, he got on stage, and he froze. No, he did not freeze, Mike. He just did not practice or put any effort into learning. He basically wrote a check he couldn't catch. No, but he could have, like, at least done something dumb up there and made it look. But he froze. It was a complete and total catastrophe. He was scared. It was like an abortion. It was. Hey, hey. Zach, what was the deal? Yeah, that was it. Like, I just got up there. I was like, oh, that's a lot of people. Yeah. So I'm just going to stand here. What about the not practicing part? Or learning the routine. Let it go, guys. Man, come on. Dance like there's no tomorrow. Sky and I practice every day. I mean, every day. You guys did a great job. The biggest event of our 28-hour show, we cared. And every day we tried to get you to practice with us. We cared. Hey, you guys did a good job. And you'd say no. Bravo. Bravo. Bravo. And then you cried. It's so weird. Game of events. Yo, Mikey, I love you guys so much. I wish every day was a 28-hour show. Don't you guys wish that? Catch on fire.
I'd become a forest ranger. Listen to this. Listen to this text message. Gladly. You guys, why don't you just make it even and just do a 30-hour. Oh, shut your mouth. Yeah, why don't you shut your dirty mouth? Shut your stupid mouth. We're giving you the extra four. What? And they want more. They want more. They want more. Right? Giving the extra four hours, man. This is garbage. I say we cancel it because of that text message. Yeah, I agree. Yeah, you ruined it for everyone. Yeah, it's over, dude. Two votes for yes. Yes. So The Dark Knight is going to maybe be back in theaters in January. Yeah, they're trying to do an Oscar push. You know, they don't want anybody to forget what, you know, Keith Ledger and The Dark Knight. So they're saying they're in talks for January to put it back in theaters, especially IMAX theaters. In what? In what? They're going to put it back in what? In Cedars? In Cedars? What does that mean? Is that like a new hospital? Are they going to show it at Cedars-Sinai? I think that's nice.
Wow. Really kind. Wow. I go to the theater. Oh, the theater. What's that? What's that? Normally, I would think that that is like such a cheese ball move because somebody died. They're going to try to talk about him being an Oscar, but not this time. It's a big move for you all the time. Dude, Heath Ledger deserves to win an Oscar for that. He was so good. He was so good in it. Kirsten Dunst says she doesn't even know who Justin Long is. She doesn't even know Justin Long. I hate her. I hate her. Even though they're photographed together. It's so infuriating. So you know who Justin Long is, the Mac guy who is dating Drew Barrymore. Isn't she kidding, though? Don't you think she's kidding? She said in the October issue of Harper's Bazaar that she doesn't know him from Adam. She met him once, and him and his friend were kind enough to walk her home, and she's never seen him since.
But they've been photographed lunching, canoodling, checking into hotels together. I think that's funny. That is funny. I think that's funny. Yeah, you just go, who's that? I've never heard of that person in my life. I saw a Mac commercial and the person's in it. It's cute. It's a guy in the Mac commercial, right? Yeah. His name is Mac? Is that his name? Mac Long. I think his name is Mac Long. Sarah Long. Sarah Long. I think that's his name. Strong name. I've never heard of him. Hey, Sarah McLongland. That's just long. Sarah McLaughlin. From McClackle and McClackle? Yeah, of McClackle and McClackle. It's McClackle. I'm so confused. Now, Sarah McLaughlin and her husband are splitting up after 11 years together. I guess it's kind of been in the works for a while, but she has this, you know, greatest hits album coming out in October that has two new songs on it. Well, it has two new songs on it, which, you know, reference the divorce. So, you know, people started asking and she finally like pink song. I don't know if it's quite like that. I couldn't get that song out of my head the other day. Not kidding. Couldn't get that stupid song out of my head.
It's up, man. It's the stupidest song I've ever heard. And you can't get it out of your head because it's so stupid. You know, it's kind of like, it's kind of not fair because if you sing something melodious. Well said. If you make a song and it's like, and you just do that a bunch of times, of course it's going to get in somebody's head. Like, it's almost not fair. She has her rock moves. We've got to record the nope again. Let's do that. Can we take two on the nope where she goes, nope? Did you hear that when she does that? She goes, nope. That was really cool. It's one of my faves. Let's try it again, but this time do it with a little bit less pizzazz. What I want here is sort of a feeling of like, nope, but I've like, you know, like. Ambivalence. Yeah, ambivalence. Yeah, pull it back a bit. Nope. Organic with it. All right, let's go the other direction then. Let's have you do this this time with a little enthusiasm. Like, nope, but you know what?
Face nope. That's too much, dear. That's too much, darling. Darling, let's bring it back just a bit. Nope. You bent that note there in the middle and it kind of changes the feeling a bit. So let's try it again. This time, give me an angry note. That's a bit too angry, dear. Bring it down just a bit. I'm sorry, just pass gas. Let's try it again. Would you mind putting on some deodorant for the next? Just until we're ready. Avril Lavigne is like banging her head in the car. Oh, I picture the two of them like flexing their girl guns. Sleep Train Mattress Center. We're looking pretty good on our freeways right now. There is an accident clearing, though, on the South 15 just before Mira Mesa Boulevard. A couple cars crashed it up here. They're now on the right-hand shoulder waiting for a flatbed toe to pretty much put them on the hook there. Other than that, you've got just Caltrion's crews working in the fast lane. South 5 at Gilman Drive as you come in out of La Jolla in towards Mission Bay. They're doing some guardrail repair work here, so stay to the right and slow for the cone zone. Those are freeways up to speed looking pretty nice, so enjoy the ride. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. It's very uncomfortable. That's why this is for you.
Check it out today. Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. Now back to Mikey. I have a newly developed fear of spiders. Eddie. Why do girls want to ruin our fun? Sky. We all know that I don't like to spend money when I don't have to. Sean. We have the stupidest neighbors in the world. Boston Rob. I get really annoyed when people have sneezing fits. And Ashley. I hate underwear and I don't wear underwear. The Mikey Show's on Rock 105.3. I said, yeah. I was bumping this in my car on the way over here. I just got some new 20s. And so, I just wanted to get in the mood. What is it? Who sings this? Nelly. Oh, Seth. Nelly, you're the worst, Seth. Nelly, bro. Little Nelly. Why did you do that? You didn't know who it was, please. What was Nelly's other headline?
That one called Little Me. Yeah. Little Me. Sounds like the jam. What's up, Little Me? Little Me? Little Me? You know how it goes? I think it is, actually. Knock it off. I think it's something else. Why don't you just have Seth tell you? I'm sure he already IM'd it to you. Could have been there. I'm really into sports today. Yeah, what do you want to know about? Let's talk about it. Yeah, let's talk about it, Mike. Let's talk about it. Chargers. Let's talk Chargers. Yeah, Chargers. Do we have to? San Diego Superchargers. Are they going to beat Denver? Yes, they are. Eddie, don't do that. What was the pause for? Talk to me. I'm a little uncomfortable with the way they played on Sunday. That's making me uncomfortable. I don't think they're going to play that way.
I thought Denver looked excellent, but they played a high school football team in the Raiders. So that's based on nothing. And that actually may make the Broncos a little overconfident going into this game. But, you know, playing in mile high, it's a difficult thing. It's always difficult. And, you know, we'll see. Yeah. What's up, Sky? Sky has a question. Okay. Don't give out of me for asking this question. What about the Broncos? Oh, no. But this was just. They're going to play horses? Yes, what is a Bronco? This is just a thought I had when I heard the news yesterday. I care for Sean Merriman. He's a friend here of the shows. But I kind of wonder if he still would have quit this, or not quit, decided to whatever, take the rest of the season off if they would have won that first game instead of lost that first game. No, I don't think so. It had nothing to do with win or loss. Because when he talked to us on Monday, he told us. Think that thought through. Like, finish the thought. Like, okay, so they lost, and he was like. Because he knew, like, this is my interpretation. And I am not the Oracle. Well, listen, but with Sky, you've got to take the picture. Sky, you have to admit. I don't admit. Even you'll agree. I do not agree. You've got to take the picture, and you've got to just turn it just a little bit.
Because I thought his motivation for still playing through the injury was because he believes that the team is going to be awesome, going to go to the Super Bowl, and he did not want to miss out on a part of that. And when they lost that first game, I believe he— No, that wasn't his motivation. His motivation was to try and help the team as much as possible and be part of the team. Okay. You don't buy that. That is what it was. She's not buying it. Well, I don't know. I mean, because on Monday we had him on the phone. He said he was great during the game and everything's fine. And then all of a sudden he calls the rest of the season. What you said, what you said and what he said are one in the same. In other words, he does want to go to a Super Bowl. And he feels like him playing makes his chances, even if it's completely selfish. Let's say it's all about him wanting a ring. In his mind, the chances of him getting it are better if he's out there. Because he knows he adds a lot. He knows that. And he does. And there's no doubt about it. The guy's a monster. And so let's say it's totally selfish. And he's just like, I want a ring. These guys, whatever. I'm great. I know if I'm out there, we're going to win. So let's say it's that. Even if he goes out there and they, like, lose the game, I don't get it. Like, okay, so they lost. He's like, well, that means we're going to lose them all? Or what do you think he's thinking?
This team isn't as good as I thought it was going to be this year. And you know what? I should do the surgery and rest this year. Check it out. Lost in the final two seconds. They had all but one. They lost in the final two seconds on a touchdown. This is a good team. They're a good team. The other team is a good team. That's just something I thought when I heard the news. I just was wondering if I was alone in that. Because they lost one game. Well, I don't know. It was weird. You realize they started one and three last year and still went to the AFC Championship game. Well, I'd have to know what that meant to understand it. I don't know why that was so confusing. It means they lost three games and they won one game in the first four last year. First four games were played, they only won a game. They lost three. But check it out. I don't know. That was just a random thought I had. Very offensive. Well, I'm not trying to be offensive. I mean, the guy on Monday told us. He was okay. Listen, I thought to myself when I heard the news, all I could think about was our interview with him. Yeah. And he just played, you know. He just played. But my guess is he went out there. A couple of things. Hey, owie. Ouch. Ow. It hurt. I mean, I don't know if you saw the game or not, but I mean, one of the...
Carolina Panthers running backs took a shot at his knee. It was illegal blocks to the knee. So when he was talking to us, he was just kind of being tough by saying it wasn't really bothering him out there? I thought he said it was hurt and it was sore. I remember him saying he didn't feel it and he felt the adrenaline was still in so he would maybe see if he felt it. Probably did. That probably makes sense. I mean, you know, what the gymnast in here said, same thing. She had a broken bone in her ankle, and she didn't feel anything until afterwards. Yeah, you feel it. I think the other thing, too, is that he is, there may be this, like, hesitation. And for him, that's probably a mind. Well, yeah, if you play to not get hurt, you're going to get hurt. And, you know, Sean probably wasn't able to do the things that he's used to doing. Once that happens, he's like, well... As an athlete, I can relate, Eddie. I can relate to that. I can relate to that. I just know when I'm out on that field, I'm an animal, first of all. I'm a different man.
On the field. You don't even know how to throw a football mic. Why are you even on the field? You should be arrested. I was wearing a cheerleading outfit when I was out there, which is weird. And then, you know, they said 24 hours after the game, it got really swollen and was in a lot of pain. So, I mean, we talked to him, you know, a short time after the game. See, and I'm always in the whirlpool when I'm done. Shut up. While you're in the whirlpool. I'm in the whirlpool. Ice whirlpool. Yes. Peele and Quimby. Having a really good day. Yeah. Everything was going perfect and beautiful. The birds were singing in the sky. And then you played that pink song again. I had worked so hard all week. Get that out of my dang head. Yeah, right? No. No. So fortunate. It doesn't get stuck in your head? You just jinxed yourself. Rob, I bet it does get stuck in your head and you're not mad enough to admit it. I was looking at some text because they were trying to repeat the lyrics with ham, though. I'm not even kidding. What does it say? What is it in the lyrics? I couldn't. It just says all I hear is ham, ham, ham, ham, ham. In the la, la, la part, I'm assuming they put in ham.
It doesn't fit. Ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham. Maybe it does fit. Keep it up. It does fit. Keep it up. Oh, man. I was hoping it wouldn't. One more time. I was hoping it would. One more time, Mike. No, good. On course. Ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham. Dude, it's nice. It's a ham. Are you ready? And it's shaped like a triangle. Can't, can't? No. Yeah. And then you put pineapple wedges on it. Never heard of that. You put the pineapple wedges on it and you put the pineapple in there with a toothpick. Oh. Oh, yeah. Sky, you ever had the canned one? Let the romance begin. I hope not. Hello. I only eat one half. Shut up. Hello. Is this so hard? Remember, Mike? You want to talk sports? I mean. My name is Scam and I love. Oh, no. I mean.
I only like one type of ham. Yes. Bring me that can stuff again. I'll spit in your face. Bring me that can do-do. I have money. I can afford. Hello, I'm Scam for honey-baked hams. If you're on the market for a good ham... Hilarious, Mike. Scam. It's a ham-ham blowout, everybody. She's got a cowboy hat on. It's a ham rodeo down here this weekend, y'all. Every ham must go. Stop laughing. The lady. Ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham. Ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham. Do you call for a different reason? Just to say stop playing that song or I'm going to cry. Or I'm going to start a fight. Cry, cry, cry, cry. We got to take a break. This is a part I like. This is the infectious part to me. I hate what she's saying, but it's infectious, right? It's produced really good. It's really good. Gay anthem. Oh, it is not. Dude, I'm telling you. You're so homophobic. I mean, we're crying out loud. You want to kiss on it? You want to kiss on it? The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Decatur Delight presents Bad Habit Confessions. Better mileage tips presented by Chevron. How fast are you going right now? Really? That fast? So what's your hurry? Did you know that if you slowed down just a little, you'd get better mileage?
It's true. If you drove 55 miles per hour on the highway instead of 65 miles per hour, you could go about 30 to 60 more miles on a tank of gas. It's like the story of the tortoise and the hare. You know, slow and steady wins the race. And that also applies to city driving. When you're stopped at a traffic light and it turns green, avoid the jackrabbit start. Don't punch the gas. It's not a race. Just accelerate smoothly and gradually. And let's face it. You'll catch up to those other cars at the next light anyway. So remember, a heavy foot equals a light gas tank. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Techron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtechron.com. Hey there, coach. Yeah. The 49ers have placed Alex Smith on the old... On what? On the old... On what, Mike? Go ahead. The old IR. Oh, that's a shame. I don't think he'll... He was a number one draft pick. Yeah, overall. He's... I don't think he's going to have to suit it up there anymore. Well, he has a broken shoulder. Oh. It hurts. Especially if you're a quarterback. A shoulder? Yeah. Did he break the shoulder? Bone in the shoulder, sure. And he's going to miss the entire season. Like Mike said, he's going to be put on IR. And it's just been rough for that guy. It has not been easy. It hasn't been an easy road, the NFL. Hillary Clinton with us. Hillary, do you think that Alex Smith has had a hard time playing for the San Francisco 49ers? What do you think about his... It's not easy. It's not easy. She is wise. She is.
You can call me Hillrod. I'd rather not. I am ready to rumble. That would be quite a fight. That would be awesome. I would pay to see that. I am ready to rumble. Pink in her sweats and tank top. Hillary in that business suit. Oh, gross. Pink in her baby tee. With the rings under the arms. And Hillary in the same exact outfit. How'd you like that? I'm uncomfortable. Thank you. Why do you have such a big, giant smile on your face? Well, because you're so happy. So happy if I have any discomfort. Well, no. No, not that you have any discomfort, but if like... That's a bonus. But if anyone on the show... That's just a cherry on top. If anyone on the show were to be impacted by this, I think you are the... Absolutely. I mean, please. I'm the environmentalist on the show. Well, no. That is opposite. Do you use plastic bags as grocery stores? We discussed this already. Yeah, I have my... What are they called? Enviro... sacks or whatever. Do you bring that every time? Of course not. Most times. Eddie, oh, I wish we had a video camera. Sometimes when I'm in a different car. I want Channel 10 to do an investigative report and they would find... Well, see, what we used to do is we used to use the bags for the kitty litter. And so we were double using them. But then I was thinking of them. They're still sitting in a landfill. So Henry's sells these really cool bags that are biodegradable for kitty and doggy poop. And so now we use those. And then we have our little enviro sacks. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You know she doesn't take anything to the grocery store, Eddie. She doesn't. They put them in plastic bags. They take them home. Throw the bags in the recycle or whatever. You can't put plastic bags in the recycle. He doesn't even know. He doesn't even know. Just burn them.
That's all you're going to do. That's how you get rid of it. Rob throws gas on him and lights him up. So, anyway, the MCA City Council voted last night that they do want to pursue this ban. I'm getting Lawrence Productions in on this. Yeah, you should. And then, so what they're going to do is they're going to write up the verbiage for the ban and then have a vote on that. And then, if approved, we'll see. They say it'll take effect in phases. I'll tell you what. They're good. Lawrence Productions, they get it. They are the ones that market the bags. Oh, do they? Really? Are we allowed to talk about this, Shawnee? Sure. Thank goodness. Oh, yeah. Well, we called Shawnee the other day on his cell phone. Can I explain to you what it was all about? Please, please. It's been on there for a year and a half. So weird. No, it hasn't been on that long. It's been on a long time. It's been on a little while. You're weird. On his cell phone, we called his cell phone. Hello and thank you for calling Lord's Productions. What? What is that? Okay, so basically I was running a scam. Okay. What? That is awesome. You're on the radio, Sean. People can hear you. Yeah, you're broadcasting. I could not care less. It's crazy. How does the scam work? So what happened was we had a client.
who they were having difficulty with a like a video and formatting it for our stations. And so they gave it to me and I kind of fixed it and it started working for all our stations. Well, this client is in markets all across the country. So they came back to me and they said, hey, can you format it for, you know, all these other radio stations, stations that are not even in our in our company. And so I thought that was a little bit weird and they didn't want to like give me anything for it or, you know, and usually when you like voice commercials for radio stations, especially ones that are not in our company, you get paid for it. Right. And so I said, well, you know what? Actually, the person that formatted this for me was a friend of mine and he has a company. Let me give you the phone number and you can call them and maybe they could work out something with you. Nice. Wow. And so you never called him back? Yeah, yeah. And so I put that on my cell phone so they would think, oh, we're calling a company. Lawrence Productions. And then they left, did they leave a message? They sure did. And you never called him back? I did. He did. He made a little skrill. Yeah. Oh. Lawrence Productions made a little money. I get it. Made a little bit of money. I get it. Wow. I like you, Sean. See, Rob, you just got to be smart, man. Yeah. I wish I had that going for me.
I love Lawrence Productions, though. They do good work. They do good work with video, I'll tell you that. And printers. Yeah, they work on printers. Network stuff. Do a little bit of everything. Did you explain about the bags yet or no? Did you finish? Yes. You know how she lied and said... I did not lie. That she doesn't use plastic bags? But we all know that she does. I got the bags, the Enviro... I wish I knew the name. Oh, EcoSacks, I think is what they're called. I got one, too. At Stater Brothers one time, I got one of those bags and proceeded to never use it. Yeah, I have a couple. You know how that is. No, I have a couple that I purchased. We both did. But a P1 brought me like five EcoSacks out to the... Sticker stripes. And I've been using them. And I've been using them ever since. I'm sorry, I'll finish the sentence. I've been using them ever since. That's rich. Put your hand on money and swear. Oh, you think you're so funny. So they're going to use them for sure or no? No. They approved like taking the next step. So basically now they need to write up the governmental verbiage.
And then they sign off on that, and then it'll take effect. And they say it'll be, like, in phases. So it's not like one day the bags are here, the next they're gone. They'll kind of phase them out. So what are you going to do? You got to take your own sack with you? Yeah. People shopping with pillowcases? Yeah, or they may charge you for them. Pillowcases? Or something. Charge for what? Is that what it'll be? I don't know. I don't know. I know other places that have put this. How are you going to carry eight or nine of them on your arms going into the house if they make them in paper bags? I got to put, like, that's what I do. Me too. I, like, put my fingers through the rings. Yeah. Carry, like, nine bags in at one time. And get your little eco sacks. Bring them with you. Well, if I do, you have to. I do. And she'll never agree to that. She's not going to do that. Yeah, and I don't have compact fluorescents, and I don't do that. Well, you didn't at the time. You probably do now because we called you out. Oh, shut up. You didn't. Please. We've been using those since the Bay Area. Oh, please. Please to use. Please. Please to use. You weren't even sure. You had to have them check. I wasn't sure that every single. Here we go, Mike. Because some of the canned lightings, like the ones with dimmers, you can't use it. I love how we changed history. Yeah, I love how you changed history. Yeah, I do. Yeah.
You just admit it that you do. I want to start a fight. You love changing history? I love it. Okay. You know what? Call Lawrence Productions. That's right. They make everything better. There's a brush fire on the 52 yesterday. Burned 325 acres. Yeah, it was a doozy. They didn't know how it started because it was kind of like pockets of fire going down. You know, the 52. And then after investigation, they found out it was... Cigarette. Rob. No. That's where Rob burns his bags. You got to get rid of them. Shut up. They do a horrible thing. Tie is whatever. Sometimes just... pounds of rubber. Just take rubber out there. It's a new service I've created. Burn your stuff. I've done radioactive material before. Whatever. Burnyourstuff.com. I take all your stuff. I take it at a 50-toe and I burn it all up. I do hairspray. All that stuff. I do a lot of industrial waste. No, I just let it out out there. Okay.
Burned styrofoam. No, it was actually. Spree on into the air. Dead gophers, whatever. Yeah, don't matter to me. So I guess it was a catalytic converter that was breaking up so hot pieces of like metal and stuff were being blown out the tailpipe. Oh, it's like the banana in the tailpipe. I'll never fall for that again. Yeah, I won't fall for that. Let's see. Texas is starting their evacuations because Ike's, they say, pulling into town. I don't say that. Every time, Sean. I say Ike is going north, but no chance. We'll see. We'll see pretty soon. We'll find out this weekend. Hey, Jordan Sparks apologized for saying that sluts comment at the VMAs. Yeah, where the host, you know, Russell Brand, comedian guy, British guy, was making these jokes about the Jonas Brothers and their promise rings that they wore. And then so Jordan Sparks, who also wears a promise ring, got up there and said, you know, it's not bad to wear a promise ring because not every guy or girl wants to be a slut. And then she thought about that and she felt that people may interpret that to mean if you're not wearing a promise ring, then you're a slut.
And she didn't want people to think that. So she says she thinks we're... Isn't she like 17? Jordan Sparks? Yeah. Yeah, probably. Yeah, but you know all the... Oh, 18. She's now 18. She's 18. But you know that 17-year-old girls are doing it. No, that's not my point. My point is, why do you have a promise ring? Right. Because she doesn't want to... She wants to like... She's saving herself. She's proud of the fact that she's saving herself. Is that what I'm for? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's to show that you're like a virgin. It's a promise you make to yourself. to save yourself from marriage. Oh, I thought promise rings were like your promise to be engaged to that person. Oh, yeah. I've heard it used that way, too. I thought it was like you promised to bring those eco sacks to the 52 and let Rob do it. Cut 12. Hannity and Combs. I mean, I'm a pro-choice liberal. I respect and admire your choice. It's got to be tough to do that sometimes, right? Yeah. I mean, and that's what's so great about the world we live in, though, is that everybody can make their own choice. So when I was sitting there, it was funny at first. Yeah, everybody can laugh at a joke. And then, you know, this guy, he's a comedian, but it wasn't very funny what he said. You set up for yourself. It's going to be hard to do. You know, I never do stuff like that. And so I went up there and it was a split second decision. And right when I got up there at the mic, I was just like, OK, I'm going to say it. And so I said it and it just came out.
Let's see. This is her explaining why she has one. Cut 13. I feel sorry for kids today. They're inundated with sexual images everywhere. You know, it's almost a norm that, you know, if you didn't have sex, there's something wrong. Why did you decide to take that stand? Well, I mean, I know for me, I took the stand myself. My parents talked to me about it when I was 13, kind of like the birds and the bees type talk. You had that talk? I never got that. Yeah, I did have that talk. My parents had that talk with me. My mom had told me and my dad. And you have one. Yes, I do. Could you show us? We'll pan in on it there. Okay. It says true love waits around it. And they told me, you know, we think it would be a good idea for you to wait until you're married. And it wasn't something forced. I was just, it made sense to me. Well, we were talking about the same type of thing the other day. And we were talking about the Katie, what's her name? The girl that sings. Perry. Katie Perry. We were talking about the Katie Perry thing. I agree with you guys. Like it's always been around, you know, it's always been around. My disappointment was that when you got a big hit record and the hit record is about being a lesbian and like, and it, I think that you would find, not that I agree with it, but I think that you would find lesbians and gay guys that would say they're in a relationship because they're really in love or whatever.
And that song is more about like, let's just mess around and, you know. Well, it's about, you know, bisexuality and kind of experimenting. Yeah. Yeah. And my disappointment in it was more of like, I know it's always been there, but this is glorifying it and making it like hip. It's turning it into something that is hip. And to me, I'm like, oh, man. You know what I'm saying? P1 Pedro's on the line. What's going on? This is my cousin, Pedro. Oh, this isn't my... This is not my cousin. This is Pedro the Cricket. I'm sorry I didn't recognize your voice, Pedro. You're always sending us text messages. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We get your text messages all the time.
So I was like, all right, cool, homies. And so I get over there, and some fool cut me up on the freeway. And so I was like, hey, pull over, homies. Pull over. Let's do this. So that fool pulled over and jumped out with two of his friends. And so I was like, okay, you got friends? Me too. So then I yell, hey, come outside, fool. And then the fool jumped out the back of my lolo, and he was like, what? And I was like, fool, you thirsty? And he was like, no, I'm not thirsty. And then we kicked him, fool, and then they ran. And then they were like, yo. I can't throw a bike. Even with somebody calling on the other line and the whole thing, he's still able to get that all off. That was great. Well done, A.O., well done. Whatever. I'm back in the building. There it is. I'm telling you right now, I'm dubbing the time that I call in the AO zone. I'm doing that right now. The AO zone. The AO zone. I like it. I love it. Yeah, I am. Yo, y'all be easy. I'll ask you soon. Okay. Yo. Thank you, AO. That's awesome. The AO zone. Gosh, that's great. That's P1 AO. I love it. P1 Peaches. Hello. Hey, what's up? Hello, you're making me follow AO. That's not cool. Yeah, I know. Stuff.
Well, hey, guys, real quick. I just wanted to, I don't know if Ayo plugged it already, but I wanted to plug the most recent P1 podcast, Lucky Number 13, on P1Site.com. Yeah! It is up for your listening enjoyment, and P1AO is on it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, the P1s love the show so much. They get together, they do a podcast where they do their own version of The Mikey Show. Yes, it is good times. And we did a little bit of a hot seat with Mr. A.O. And so if you want to learn some of the scoop on him, check it out. Well, you guys will be breaking up soon. Yeah, you don't want to do that if you want to be friends. Trust me. Ruins friendships. Me and A.O. are BFFs now. He'll tell you. There you go. Cool. Thanks a lot. Thanks, guys. 570-1053 is our number. Beginning and end of every show, we do open phones so you can call in about anything that you want to. And we'll take your call. Open phones. Let's see. Last night, 50 Cent was on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Cut 22. You're Curtis Jackson when you're acting, when you're rapping, you're 50 Cent. Absolutely. I don't want them to get confused with the actual content. As a writer, I've got to write something specifically.
that they'll directly I deal with, because I write the harsh realities. Right, right. 50 Cent, you're talking harsh truth. And then if you want to be in a light comedy, you don't want to be 50 Cent. No, I want you to come see that guy, and then you see me in a romantic comedy. Right, okay. Is that going to happen? You're going to be in a romantic comedy? I mean, Hitch was hot. Yeah, yeah. And I'll get out there and try, if I can get Eva Mendes to come home. That's your technique, is it? Hey, I screwed up. Leslie Nielsen was on the Today Show, and he has a fart machine. Oh, good. Oh, I love that. Cut 30. Today, the picture never loses its effect, and it's fun. And so there are so many young people growing up, 10, 11, 12, and they're getting this picture for the first time. So I'm going to put a lot of them. Don't call me a girl. Excuse me. It's also funny. It means a regular. Thank you for the Today Show.
That's awesome. That's so great. That's so great, man. Whoops. Oh, my God. We have to get one of those. Yeah, we do. Dude. This is Gordon Ramsay on season two of Kitchen Nightmares. Yeah, tonight. Cut 53. This season has been a tough one, really, to be honest. I mean, the hardest scenarios I've ever been faced with. I mean, they've been watching the programs this time, so everyone's trying to outsmart me, which is crazy. I've come up against all sorts of arrogance, lies, deceitfulness, bad tempers, frustrated chefs, had a knife thrown at me once. Is it tonight? Yeah. Last week they did a kind of revisited episode where they went back to all the restaurants he did last season. And tonight is the first episode. He said he has a knife thrown at him.
Happens, Mike. Oh, come on. Crazy things happen. Tell me they're not going there. Crazy things happen, Mike. Come on. Dude, when you're giving out tough love, man. That's it, man. I've been had several nights. Is that right? Machetes. Machete. You've had machete? Yeah. Wow. When you're speaking harsh truths, Mike. Is that how it does? Can't hang, man. All right. This guy threw a samurai sword at me the other day. She did? P1 Eric is on the line. Yeah, Mike. Give a little shout-out to my buddy, bro. He leaves for Iraq today. And another shout-out to the military people that, hey, we should never forget September 11th. And I thank you guys for your service. I'll be over there in December. Thanks. Thanks, dude. P1 Philly's Finest. Mikey. What's up? That's right. It's Philly's Finest. I got a question for Scott. You at Chopper Convention? He did the new releases on Tuesday. and I talked about a game or something, and I went to the store to check it out because I was interested, and they had no idea what I was talking about. They said, Yakuza? What is that? Yakuza? Remember, Sky, you said Yakuza? Yakuza. It doesn't make any sense. He went in there, he asked for Yakuza, and they were like, we don't have it. It was actually pronounced Yakuza. Oh, that.
Just a little mistake on pronunciation. It's way different. I know, guys. Guys, give her a break. She tries real hard at pronunciation. What are you doing? I don't understand what you're up to. I don't appreciate you guys making fun of my friend. She has a speech impediment. I do not. You don't? See, this whole time I was, like, justifying it because I thought you had, like. Are we on an island right now? Like, what's happening? Special island. I apologize. Something's going on. P1 Ginger. Hey, Mikey. I just want to say thank you so much for letting me know about the Pamplemousse Grill. Oh. It was so good. I took my boyfriend there last week for his 30th birthday. It was amazing. What did you have? We got the foie gras to start with. Oh, see, I can't go there. I can't go there. With a vanilla and honey glaze on it. Well, look at you. Yeah, truffle fries. Truffle fries is good. Truffle. Truffle fries taste good. It was amazing. Also. Is that what you got for dinner? You got foie gras? No, that was just the appetizer. Oh, okay. What'd you get for dinner? I got the filet mignon with the truffle mashed potatoes. Tastes real good, huh? Truffle.
So good. It's all about the truffles now. Yep. That's awesome. It's so good. And also, my birthday is actually on Sunday, so I was hoping I could hear Ashley say happy birthday. Yeah, she'll sing happy birthday. Wait, wait, wait. How old are you going to be? 26. All right, Ash. Hit it. Oh, I thought you wanted her to sing it. Didn't you want her to sing? She says it pretty funny. I wanted her to sing Hootie and the Blowfish. Oh, that's right, Ash. Let's hear a couple of minutes. Let's not. I'm not just saying. I'm going to tell you and you don't get my way. I don't get it. And this sounds like secure. You won't sing. I'll just call you what you want. I'll ring when there's nothing I can't do. That's like a really good secure impression. Hey, Mark, that's your future wife, bro. I just want you to tell you. There she is right there. No, come on. Stick around. That's my friend. I kid you not, he loves my singing voice. Oh, who doesn't?
Hey, thanks for the call, Ginger. Says I seem like an angel. Does he say that? Angel of death. That's right. We met Mangala. Listen, we got to get out of here. We'll be back tomorrow morning. We'll be in Talented Missies coming up next. Today, she's got the lost and found. It's going to be great. Stuff you haven't heard in a long time. So, it's Friday morning. Like that. See you back here tomorrow morning at 5.30.
