Eddie then shared details about his new house, describing himself as a landlord who enjoys fixing things up, while Ashley revealed her meticulous routine for keeping her bangs perfectly dispersed. Later, the team played a Tombstone audio clip and confirmed the gopher death count stood at two, before debating the Ultimate Fighter bout between Brandon Vera and Keith Jardine. The Ashley chicken nuggets eating contest became a highlight, with Ashley consuming eight nuggets to P1 Kung Fu’s four‑and‑a‑half, and the show also featured a Swedish YouTube clip where the host laughed uncontrollably at a guest with damaged vocal cords.

A guy stabbed two 17-year-old girls at the Old Town Transit Center yesterday afternoon. One of those girls ended up dying from her wounds. Padres are still gunning for that 100-loss season. They get shut out one to nothing by the Rockies last night or yesterday. Yeah, they are working on that 100. They made it. Got a goal and trying to accomplish it. They're going for it. Hey, you want to call us? 570-1053. Give us a call. Open phone lines beginning and end of every show. And then our text number is open, and that is 35253. If you've never texted us before, we'd love for you to be a part of the Mikey Show P1 Text Army. The way that you do it is you text the word Mikey to 35253, and it will text you back, and you'll get all set up. It's pretty cool.
So give it a shot if you've never tried it before. And then you can start texting us all the time. It's pretty cool. We have a lot of very regular text people. Give us a call. Let's talk. What do you got going on? Did you watch TV last night? You got questions for the show? What is on your mind? Is it the 28-hour show like all of us? Or what is going on in your life? We are all thinking about the 28-hour show because it's three weeks away. Three weeks away. I know it. It's always so weird, man, when we come and we start that show that day and we know that we have a long way to go. Well, just think, we'll have been on the air for 24 hours right at this point. Stop. And still got four hours to go. Stop with your dirty mouth. That is right. Just four more hours. Okay. You know, a full show. All right. Oh, man. Take it down a notch. Around... What time does a halfway point happen? What would the halfway point be? I don't know, but I know we always talk about it. 8 o'clock at night? Is it 8? Is it 14 hours? Yeah. I know we always talk about it. We always go, hey, we're at the halfway point. Oh, my. Yuck. 28 straight hours of us doing this show. There's no...
commercials on the air. We don't get to go to commercial break. We don't play any music for 28 hours. The radio station just turns into the Mikey show for 28 straight hours. We ask people to call and donate money to Children's Hospital and we give to that charity. It's pretty cool. It's a long experience though. Yes, it is. 570-1053. We want to hear from you P1s. P1 listeners. A Mikey Show listener. And that's how they identify themselves. Whatever your name is, just put P1 in front of it. Or come up with your own name. You know, a lot of them do. We got P1 Space Boy. And his name is not legally Space Boy. What? It is not. This is news to me. That's right. Before the legal name change. Chad Johnson would have probably gone by P1 Ochocinco. For sure. That's news to me. I like it. But it's whatever you want. As long as when you call in, you turn your radio down, you get to your point, and you don't cuss, that would make you a P1. Know the rules. That's right. Know the rules. And, yeah, and you turn other people on to it. That 28-hour show is a great opportunity to turn people on to the show. Tell people, hey, if you listen to something else in the morning, listen to us, you know, listen to the Mikey show in the afternoon.
Anytime, really. Yeah, anytime. We'll be here. Yeah, hey, having trouble sleeping? Insomnia? Yeah, listen to The Mikey Show. So let's fire it up. I am Mikey. I am the host of the show. I am 38 years old, and I enjoy tomatoes. Thank you. That is true. By the way, speaking of the 28-hour show, tomorrow... We are going to announce what movies we're going to be watching. Oh, yeah. Good times. Yep. Starting at 10 o'clock, we watch two movies live on the radio. We encourage listeners to go out and rent those movies or if you already own them to pop it in your DVD player. And what we do is we start the movie and synchronize with you. We give you a three, two, one play and we all watch the movie together and we make fun of the movie. and you reap the benefits. It's pretty cool. And it's always a big deal. What are they going to watch? What are they going to watch? What are they going to watch? So we'll announce tomorrow what movies we're going to be watching this year. We figured it out. Hey, Shawnee, is the suggestion thing up? Yes. All right, so if you want to make suggestions for the 28-hour show, in whatever form, like maybe you have an idea about somebody we should interview, or...
Maybe you have an idea about the only thing that's off the shelf right now is movies because we've decided what we're going to be watching. For some reason, the ticker will not come up on my computer. I can't get that. Yeah, I can't get the timer. And I see it on your sky that you've got because I can see your screen from here. Hey, stop looking at my screen. Oh, boy. Do you have WWW in front of Mikey's show on yours? Uh-huh. Is that strange? Are you on Safari? Yep. I'll check it out. Huh. Strange. Yeah, no, mine works lovely. Yeah. I don't like to look at it, though. What's it say? Oh, Mike, 19 days, 23 hours, 47 minutes, and 22 seconds. That's when it begins. Yes. That's when the 28-hour show begins. No likey. If you go to mikeyshow.com right now.
You can send in your ideas for the 28-hour show. It's under new on the show. So it's a cool thing to click on and just tell us what your thoughts are. If you've got any suggestions for anything for the 28-hour show. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 35 years of age. He has brown hair. And has a new house. Don't do that face. What's he doing? Smiling. Sorry. I thought he was reaching Mach G. Mach 3 there. Eddie has a new house. Yeah. And how's that going? The new house is great. Yeah? Yeah. My old condo is not so great. Oh, no. Well, that's where you're a landlord. Yes, I'm a landlord. Don't have a renter yet, but I'm a landlord. Which trips me out. Yeah, I fix stuff, Mike. Oh, wow. Clean stuff up, fix it up. You're the super. I'm the super. I'm the super. And, yeah, so, Eddie, I've been very interested in kind of hearing how this new house is going and getting it all set up because we all know what that's like. Skye is our news girl. She's 30 years of age, and I've known her for a long time.
And when I first met her, the following things did not exist. MySpace. iPods. It's just a trip to kind of put it in that sort of... I never even thought of that. Kind of put it in that sort of context. That is really trippy. Shawnee Oh Boy is our sound effects guy. He wears... He wears what looks like little blue shells on his ears. Can you hear the ocean in those things, Shawnee? That's right. No, but I can hear your stupid yapping. Oh, whatever. Well, look, you want to insult me? I'm not insulting you. It's only 6'15". It was an innocent question. That's right. Oh, please. Shawnee, oh boy, is very tall. He's a very tall man. Very sensitive. That's right. You suck. He plays sound effects on the show. Sean, give us a sample of what you do. Oh, I'd love to, Mike. My name's Sky. What's happening? How did I know? All right. Did you like another one? No, we're good. Thank you. He plays little audio clips on the show. I know you'll like them. I love them. Oh, thank you, Sky. Sky, who were you talking about in that clip? Were you talking about Dave Matthews' band? No. Who were you talking about? Some rock band. I don't know. No.
No? You remember? We're talking about the morning show on the radio station. Oh, she was talking about Wank and O'Brien. I know you'll like them. I love them. You should listen to them. I know you'll like them. I love them. Oh, man. Yeah. Well, if there is any question, what we could do is we could just get those tapes out and listen to the whole thing and make sure and find out who's right here. If there is any sort of discrepancy in this. It's not that big of an issue. I wonder. Sky's like, I don't know that that was a deal. And Sean's like, no, I'm sure it was. It really doesn't matter. I think it's important. It's funny. If she just admitted to it, we wouldn't have this conversation. No, I just said Sean's right. That's great. Whatever Sean says. Wow. Hey, I just saw... I just saw Bill Gates face up on the television. Did you hear that? I read this little blurb yesterday that they're pulling the Jerry Seinfeld ads because they're terrible. Yeah. But they're trying to pretend that it's like, you know, oh, well, we're going to phase two. But apparently most people feel that those Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Gates, Microsoft ads are stupid and awful.
They're about two minutes long. Yeah. You got paid $10 million for it. Aye, aye, aye. Right? Well, they never mentioned the product. Thank you. Yeah. Thank you. And the other weird thing, I think that they believe that Bill Gates' face is so recognizable that it just says Microsoft when you see him, that you just think Microsoft. And it goes against all convention. It is not a minute-long commercial. It's about two minutes long. They don't give, you know, they don't say it's Microsoft, so they're trying to do all this unconventional stuff, which I love. I love, well, I love unconventional stuff. The commercial, I don't know that I necessarily love the commercial. Yeah. You know, personally, I feel like you could slam any product home in about 15 seconds if you do it right. I don't ever think, I don't think you need 60. That's just been something that we've come up with. Right. passionate about it, and you're not talking just to talk, you're just talking because you mean it. I'm good with that. But that Microsoft commercial is weird. It's strange. Ten mil, Eddie? Jerry Seinfeld got ten million dollars for that commercial. Good, because he's a poor guy. Struggling comedian. Yeah, he hasn't worked. Ashley is our assistant producer.
And I like her shirt today. Love it. Thank you. And I like your bangs. Thank you. Ashley has bangs. And she's really, really, really, she really pays attention to those bangs. And she kind of, you know, really is. Obsesses? Yeah, yeah. She wants them to be perfectly, evenly, as she says, dispersed. Distributed across her forehead. They demand a lot of my attention. They do. They demand it. It's fine. It's worth it. Boston Rob is smiling, as he often does when I introduce him each morning. And he is in the studio with us now. He sits in the studio with us. He used to be separated by glass in his own little studio. But him and Zeth have traded places. So now he's in here with us. I win. And every single day... Every day he wears something that says Boston Red Sox or, you know, not. Eddie's right. Eddie mentioned the other day, where's the Patriots stuff? He doesn't really wear that stuff. Do you know, I don't hate them. Do you know what's going on in the world of baseball right now? It is so intense. I know yesterday, Eddie said, here it comes, guy. Is that worse? Oh, no. Tampa Bay now has a two-game lead in front of Boston, routing them 10-3 last night. That's crazy. They got shellacked.
Put over the Tampa Bay Devil Ray's knee and spanked. Yeah, you guys are in big trouble. No, no, no. I wouldn't say we're in big trouble because we've got a good spot, very high atop the wild card standings. Rob, didn't you once say you'd rather get in as a wild card or am I imagining that? Well, it depends. It all fluctuates, you know? Oh, boy. Oh, here we go. Because, you know, wild card is going to play the best. So it depends who has the best record. Right now, Anaheim by far does so. You don't want any part of Anaheim. You're dead. One and done. You have to eventually, Rob, right? You got to eventually. No, no, no. Listen, I don't mind playing Anaheim. We have a great record. I think you kind of mind playing Anaheim. We're like eight and one with them in the past. If it was for the AL championship, you'd probably have to play them. And then, you know, I would not be a happy two days. You're right. You're right. Why am I even going there? Why am I even going there? What are you doing? He's so stressed out. Ten games left.
There are 10 games left, Mike. We don't know what's going on. Anything could happen. Oh, wow. Why even discuss it now? Please. Right? You mean like an injury or something like that? Oh, look at that face. Do you know how many injuries have happened to our teams? Oh, no. Oh, no. Evie. Oh, no. Don't look at it. Don't make direct watch. You can need a camera so bad. Just don't look at me. I got to get an Instamatic camera just to, like, snap a quick picture every once in a while so listeners can see what's up. I would never, ever wish an injury on one of your family members. Me neither. I'm one of your family members. That's how he feels. He does. He does feel that way. He does feel equally as passionate about his favorite sports franchise. So is Wakefield your grandpa? Your grandpa. Is Wakefield your grandpa? Maybe. A little older, but yeah. That guy can still throw a great knuckleball. Knuckleball. Knuckleball. And then there's Sir Roosevelt Zethian Oates III, Jr., Esquire, MDDDS, Inc., .com. CEO. CEO. Oh, congrats. Thank you. I need a three-by-five card. I need more than that. Somebody made a valid point to me yesterday in the hall. They said, well, how do you have a CEO? He said, usually. This person said, usually. The CEO is also the president. I mean, I guess you have some times where.
The president's not the CEO and the CEO is not the president. That's very true. But in most instances, the president and the CEO are the same guy. Look at George Zimmer over at Men's Warehouse. Good example. He is president and CEO. He's also a client. He's also a client. Oh, wow. That's right. 570-1053 is the phone number. Our text number is 35253. We're already getting text messages. This one says, good morning, every Bubba. It's P1 Tiny. Awesome show, guys. Great job. Skye, how is the gopher ordeal going? That's P1 Union Electrician. You mean the death camps? Let me tell you something. Her husband got this thing called a black box, and we don't want to know what goes on inside that thing, but Skye's got gopher probs. Yeah. Smells like somebody died. Tombstone. Tombstone. Look it up. Wow.
YouTube it. Okay. YouTube it. Wow, that was awesome. I'm going to. I think we need to pull that clip. Thank you. I think that's something we need to save. I agree with you. That was really good. I don't think I'll be able to recreate that. That was really good. As far as I know, the Gopher death count stands at 2. Because you told him not to tell you, right? Well, I said, you know, I definitely don't want to know the details, but I haven't seen any new gopher holes, and he hasn't told me about any. No carcasses or anything like that? No, no. So I hope we're done. Tossed cavalierly over the fence. I hope we're done, and I hope Mother Earth forgives us for what we've done. Why would Mother Earth have to forgive you? Well, because she's upset. You're saving Mother Earth. About what? Because I'm. Killing her creatures. Oh, oh, oh. You're saving your land. Her little woodland creatures. Right. What? Haven't you ever watched a Disney movie, bro? No. Circle of life, Sky. Maybe the stuff in the ground got it, you know? Yeah. You know what I'm saying? We can help. I think that we've hooked it up where I can actually play some audio from my computer. Oh. But I don't know if this is going to work. Let's try and see what happens. Yeah, that's Tombstone. Coming from my lapper.
Are we going to watch it? That sounds like fun. I'd like to, but a long movie. Oh, okay. That's stuff to do. We'll wait for the 28-hour show. I can act it out. I'll be your Huckleberry. There you go. Mikey found out yesterday my job's sending me to Fullerton, October 8th, 9th, and 10th. I feel like missing the 28-hour shows like missing Christmas Day. I'm very sad. It's P1 Shmomo. Quit. Quit. Oh, yeah. I mean, priorities. All right. Duh. Okay. Mikey, I live in Riverside, but get your show. How do I get the 105.3 sticker? That, you'd have to come here. You got to come here to get that sucker. But they are in our lobby. You got to know somebody in San Diego, right? Mikey, did you guys remind B-Rob today that his beloved Sox are now two games back, and it's not just by percentage points. That's P1B Rob here. He's upsetting his afro. Come on. A lot of work goes into this thing.
Hey, Mikey, I think you should let a P1 come in for the 28-hour show. I know we would love the chance to get silly with you guys. That's P1 Stone. Well, guess what? We will, of course, we do it every year. We give away opportunities for people to come in here. When we watch those movies, we watch those movies with you. Awesome. So we will give the opportunity between now and then to have some very, very select. seats available in the performance studio while we watch the movies, which is a rad time. Yeah. I mean, listen, if I wasn't me and I was a listener, I would enjoy the experience. I am me and I enjoy the experience. It's fun. P1 Redneck Sailor's on the line. Hey, Redneck Sailor. What's up, man? How you doing? I'm great, man. You? Good. What's new? Well, I was thinking about maybe another addition to Zef's already ridiculous name. I was thinking we could either put patent pending on the end of it or possibly an all rights reserved. Oh. All rights reserved. I like patent pending. Yeah, me too. I will veto all rights reserved. And when you said it, I thought, as soon as you suggested it, I thought, well, I'm probably going to have to use veto power here.
But then when you said patent pending, I laughed. So I like it. Thank you, bro. Zeth, you're going to have to type me up a 3x5 card. With your own name. And it'll be like your business card. I don't even know all of them. Really? Yeah. Mikey, 28-hour show. You guys should play all of Sky's old tapes. I would love to. That's P1. I like him, but you will love him. We're all hilarious. I know you'll like him. I love him. P1, what's hampooning is on the line. Hey, guys. I just want to get Eddie and Ashley's take on the new Ultimate Fighter that just premiered last night and also the promo they did for Vera versus Jardine. Yeah. Wow. Brandon Vera is going to fight Javier Bardem, the guy that starred in the movie. Yes, Mike, that is correct. You misunderstood. That is correct.
Amazing. Yeah, I know. Who would have thought it, right? It's going to be the biggest fight I think I've ever had in my life. The match of all time. No, no, no. Yeah, it's crazy. It is crazy. Once Hoist Gracie fought Dustin Hoffman, but aside from that one example, aside from that one example, never happened in history ever. Keith Jardine. Oh. His next fight is Keith Jardine. The King of Mean? Yes. The Dean of Mean. The Dean of Mean? Yeah. Keith Hardeen? Jardine. Jardine. Jardine. The spokesperson of Mean? Yes. Eddie, what do you think of that matchup? A little nervous, actually. Really? Keith Jardine is no joke. Yeah, he's good. I think the good thing is Brandon Vera has moved down to 205 now. But it's a 205. He's now a big 205, whereas he was a small heavyweight. And so now he has the size advantage over most people he fights. But Keith Jardine is a big 205. So it's going to be a pretty even matchup. If it stays striking, it's anybody's matchup. Keith Jardine, he can hit. He beat Chuck Liddell. Will this be pay-per-view? Actually, it'll be free on Spike.
From England. When? October 18th. Live? It might be tape delayed because it's in England. Yeah, it's delayed. So for us, it will be October 18th. Prime time. Prime time, October 18th. Yeah. That's a Saturday. Yep. All right. And the new Ultimate Fighter kicked off with great stuff. It's awesome. It was on last night. Interesting, Clay Guida, a UFC fighter, his brother fought. He was trying to get his way into the house and couldn't make weight. And I've never seen anybody go through this before. He had to cut 17 pounds in a day to make weight. And he was so dehydrated. Every muscle in his body was cramping. And he couldn't move. And finally the commission came in and said, You know, because he was still one pound over. And the commission finally said, you physically cannot lose any more weight safely. You're done. You're out. And so he missed it by one pound. Really? Yeah. But what an idiot. Well, not only that, it's like, how effective are you going to be? Totally true. In that situation. How do you show up for the opportunity of a lifetime, 17 pounds overweight? Yeah. How? Yeah, figure it out. And decide, oh, yeah, I'll just cut it in a day. I'm good. Yeah. Idiot.
You know what that sounds like to me? Self-sabotage. Yeah? It sounds like self-sabotage. Like you're not really feeling you're worthy, you can't do it, blah, blah, blah. And so you set it up so that you can't. Or you're lazy. Then you try to get yourself out of it and you're trying to, you know, yeah, lazy is the easy answer. Oh, you just wanted to eat. But people know what they want and know what they, you know, when you want something. You have plenty of opportunity or time to know. I got to get ready for this. And you don't show up 17 pounds over. Yeah. No, you got to lose it in a day. This is crazy. Ash, did you watch? No. You didn't watch it? No. Every time we ask her and she doesn't, Eddie's like, I thought you were a fan. Well, he texted me last night to remind me. Are you serious? But I was like in the middle of cooking. Like I had like four pans going. So, like, I texted him back right away, like, good looking out, awesome, and then totally forgot. And then me and my honey ended up watching the Big Brother finale, which we had missed from the next four. She might as well say, you know, I was doing my nails and makeup. Aw. So disappointing. Yeah, I totally blew it. Okay. 570-1053 is a phone number. Ashley's going to eat today. Oh, my. Someone get me some ranch.
Chicken nuggets. Did someone get me some ranch? Well, that's my question, Ash. What's up? I guess you've decided. You're going with dipping sauce. Well, I really want to, and I really think it would help me, but I had a really big discussion with my boyfriend yesterday about it because he was telling me that that will slow me down. Eddie said that all day. She doesn't listen. She doesn't listen to you. I really feel like if I just do one dip and then shove it in my mouth, I think it'll taste better. Thus, I'll chew quicker. Thus, making the nuggets go down faster. I can't. Listen. Got it?
I can't fight you because I think you know what you're up to, man. Bad strategy. I've seen you win. And I have the whole strategy. Like, I'm going to do bite, choo-choo, bite, you know? And my boyfriend's like, no. He's like, no dipping. None of that. Put the whole thing in your mouth and get him down. He really is pissed that I lost last week. He wants me to win today. Bite, choo-choo, bite. It's a serious issue right now. He's like Burgess Meredith. It's a serious issue. So, we'll see. I don't know, Mike. 570-1053 is the number. Our text number is 35253. And we have a good and big and large and in charge show for you today. First of all, we're going to do something that we call tough love with Eddie. Ever heard of it? Yeah, this is where Eddie will dole out advice to those that write him seeking such advice. And he doesn't sugarcoat. He doesn't tell you what you want to hear. I don't want to waste your time. He doesn't want to waste your time. Right. I want to help you. Yeah. So we will be doing that. We're also going to do something today called Tone Deaf Karaoke. Oh, yeah. Tone Deaf Karaoke. Tone Deaf. We are also going to do a YouTube clip of the day. I have audio of Lynn Spears on the Today Show talking about the new book she's got out there.
Gosh. So we'll hear all about that. We got Palin's response. Sarah Palin's response to the Tina Fey SNL skit about her. It's kind of poor quality because somebody was asking her on the street and recording it. So we'll do that. Ash is going to do her eating competition. And we got a little what you doing at the courthouse. Pablo Francisco in the stand-up spotlight. Here's a Latino Pauly Shore. Here we go. Hey, buddy. Chorizo con huevos. Yo soy de Chihuahua. Muy loco. Spanish Jerry Seinfeld. There he goes. Spanish Jerry Seinfeld. Oye, Jerry. Hey, Julie, está loca. Hey, Kramer, por favor. Tú estás loco. ¿Qué son estas personas? No sé. Colamba. Spanish Johnny Carson. There he goes. Spanish Johnny Carson.
Here's... Right now is the best time in history to be in the market for a Ford F-150. America's favorite truck starts at only $17.7. But that's just the beginning. Now take the customer cash, then take the Ford credit cash. And if you're a repeat customer, take the owner loyalty cash, and you'll save literally thousands off that $17.7 starting price. It's history in the making. See your San Diego County Ford dealer or log on to sandiegocountyford.com. 2008 Ford F-150XL. Taxes, title, and registration fees extra. If you are a P1, meaning a Mikey Show listener, and you've been listening for any length of time, you have probably heard about...
And probably by this time tried AIS insurance. And you've probably saved a lot of money because I personally did myself. I saved $1,600 a year by switching to AIS. Now, I'm going to tell you something. I do not bring to the table endorsement companies that I don't personally believe in. And I believe in AIS 100%, man, because I use them myself. My family uses them. I believe in them. Their phone number is 1-800-777-4247. And I want to let you know that if you're planning a trip to Mexico, you're going to be going down to Mexico, have some lobster, hang out. You're going to be taking your family. You're going to be doing stuff with your friends or whatever. They offer the Mexican insurance and I urge you to get it. Because I got a friend who went down there with a friend and their car got stolen. It was his buddy's car. So don't be that guy. 1-800-777-4247. By the way, I want to give you the AIS website. It's AISinsurance.com. I love you, Alexis. I love you. It's been five weeks. Dustin is a good guy. Let's move in together. We haven't even had sex. Tank is paid to be bad. Okay, now what'd you do? We have an earlier overturned crash here in the northbound 15, and the carpool lanes right as it exits onto the main line, just right at the 56 here, coming into Poway. And that's why you're seeing yourself in single digits right now, north 15, on the approach here. They're running a traffic break to slow you down so they can get this accident out of the way. But in the meantime, you're practically coming to a stop here from Poway Road on up. So be prepared to sit in that for a bit, and a traffic lord has an issue advising you to avoid that.
Heading south to the 15, you've got the usual back up here out of Escondido. Now off to 78, the Villa Rancho Parkway. Other than that, the coaster ride's looking good. Mikey, I have felt like a part-time P1. until yesterday. I went to Sleep Train so that I could have a reference to compare used mattresses on Craigslist. I took my three-year-old in there, which is typically a bad idea because she doesn't have the ability to self-calm herself yet. I digress. But my point is that they made it so easy to figure out which mattress I wanted that I ended up buying one at Sleep Train. I really wanted the Beautyrest World Class Paris Plush.
But it was out of my budget, which is why I felt I needed to buy a used one. The sales associate knocked off $1,213 and offered to deliver it today. We got this email. B-Rob, when did we get this? A couple days ago? Yeah, two days ago. Two days ago. That's awesome. Yeah, man. My wife, who is one month pregnant with our second child, will be pleasantly surprised tonight when she sleeps on our new Paris plush. She really deserves a good mattress to sleep on, and I can't wait to sleep on it with her. Signed P1 Norfus. You want that to be your story? Sleep trains are everywhere. Check one out today. See the significance of this song.
It was one of those moments in Eddie's life, you know, where you sort of, every once in a while in life, you have a very poignant and dramatic moment happen in life. And this wasn't one of them. Well, you know, it was a day that I had been let go from the radio station that we worked at in Rochester, New York. Eddie was working with me. And just like about a billion times in my radio career, I was fired that day. And got out into the car, turned the car on. And wouldn't you know it, as soon as I start the car, this song by REO Speedwagon starts playing. And the song is Time For Me To Fly. It's all about, you know what, it's over and it's time for me to get out of here. I thought that was so cool. Yeah. Like he told me the story when he got home. I'm like, dude, that's a sign, man. That means, you know, this is the right thing for you. I thought that was awesome. So, Eddie, what happened? Because what happened in your situation? Well, you know, I mean, I was really young. I was like 20 years old. And you were going to leave. You were moving back to California from Rochester. So I was going to be out there by myself because I was still working at the radio station. And I was like, oh, man, this is going to suck. I'm going to live by myself. No Mikey. You know, it was just weird. And so, you know, I stuck it out for like a month. And I was finally, I'm like, forget this. And, you know, I decided I was going to quit. Right. Which is a whole other story upon itself.
So I quit, and I can't wait to get in the car to hear what my swan song is going to be. And I know it's going to be something poignant, and I know that it's going to have a meaning, and everything about it is going to be exactly like Mikey's. So I turn on my car. What is the universe going to tell you? Exactly. So I turn on my car. Nice. Great sign. Cameo. Word up. I just shook my head and said, get me out of here. That is so bad. One of the greatest stories ever. It's so bad. Back. It is 645. Actor Ryan O'Neal and his son were both arrested yesterday for narcotics possession. And where they want to put it is at the beginning of his name. But you really, it's hard to because he's already sir. Right. You know, and it's hard to put something in front of sir. You know, like this guy says, hey, Mikey, what do you think about adding captain to the front of Seth's name? P1 Charger fan. Well, how do you say sir? Well, maybe you can. Sir Captain Roosevelt. Is that the announce? I don't know that that flows. I don't know that that flows either. Hey, Mikey, I think that you should add the honorable mister to the beginning of Seth's name. Which is, can you do that with sir? The honorable mister, sir. The honorable mister. Sir Roosevelt. Sir Roosevelt. Well said. Now it's time for the YouTube clip of the day. Now, here's the deal with this one. Apparently, this is a Swedish host. And they are, I guess, doing an interview. And the following takes place. It's the person he's interviewing. I don't think, here's the deal, just so you know, I don't think it's supposed to be funny, but the host can't help himself.
I don't think the host thought that that was his speaking voice. Oh. And it really struck the host as funny, and he's trying his best not to laugh. Now, why is that guy speaking like that? Medical malpractice suit that I guess he had going on. Oh, oh. His vocal cords were damaged. That's right. And the guy's laughing at him? I guess he couldn't help himself, the host. So it's supposed to be a serious interview about the medical malpractice suit. He can't help himself. Oh, my gosh. Oh, no. Oh, no. Excusez. Excusez. Excusez. Excusez. Excusez. Oh, no, that's a lot. That's a lot. That's too much. Too much. Oh, that's going to make it worse to continue to ask the questions. Oh, no. Oh, no. There it is. Direct from Sweden to YouTube. I'm telling you, weird stuff happens in Sweden, especially on talk shows. The lady threw up one time. She's a talk show host, and then she finished throwing up. She was like, excuse me. That's the best. Excuse me. 570-1053 is our phone number.
And I don't know if you've heard about it yet, but Sarah Palin's Yahoo email account got hacked. No. Yeah. And it was turning up. Don't say the name of the website, Sky, that it's turning up on, but it's turning up. Yeah. You know, basically Sarah Palin had come under fire before because I guess, you know, as governor of Alaska, they would do official government business using their personal email accounts. And, you know, that was obviously frowned upon because they're not as secure as the government sites. And so since, you know, becoming the vice presidential nominee, she doesn't use her Yahoo account anymore for that kind of stuff. But, you know, a group wanting to make a statement. somehow hacked into her yahoo account and found uh just personal emails family photos what do you suppose the statement is by the way i don't know um allegedly
The group that has taken credit for this is that group Anonymous, which is the same group who targeted Scientology. Oh, really? Yeah, the group Anonymous. They're taking credit for this hacking. But, of course, the McCain campaign says that this is a huge invasion of the governor's privacy. It's a violation of the law. It's been turned over to the appropriate authorities. And anyone possessing any of these emails will hopefully destroy them. Yeah. Crazy, though. Wasn't there, like, pictures, too, and stuff like that? Yeah, like family photos. Family photos. That is awful. Well, it's invasive, you know. It's the epitome of, like, invasiveness and getting up in your business. And it's not to mention illegal. I mean, really illegal. Definitely. Yeah, don't you think that they could investigate, figure out who did it? No, they are. They are? I mean, they're in the middle of that investigation. They haven't, you know, released anything. But, yeah, they're definitely investigating. They'll find out, right? Well, you would hope they. Could. And somebody is, I wonder what the penalty is. Like what, how bad in trouble do you get? Yeah. And is it different because she's a government official? You know, is the penalty harsher for that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll see. So anyway, that's a big story out there. The Wall Street thing and the thing is continuing to slide and I don't understand and I don't know what points mean and I don't get it, but. It's bad. What does it mean? It means the economy is caca.
Sean, do you understand any of this stuff? The Dow Jones dropping 450 points. Do you know what that means? Yeah, you know, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is made up of, it's like 500 different companies that Wall Street feels determines the sort of direction our economy is going in. And so yesterday, you know, because all of these loan agencies and banks are going under, there's not a lot of confidence out there that our economy will continue to, you know, be robust and be safe. And people are pulling their money out. They're selling off their shares. of these companies. And despite the fact that the government is doing a lot in terms of bailing these guys out and giving them huge, huge loans, billions of dollars, people still think that there's not a lot to be confident about. And that's why this massive sell-off is going on. That's crazy. It's really bad. Scary. So yesterday, like I said, 450 points. The meltdown continues.
See what happens. I don't know how my Napster stock is doing. Well, that's a first step, Eddie. You've got to check it. You've got to get on there. I've got to look into it. Yeah, you've got to get on there and see how it's doing. 35253 is our text number. Our phone number is 5701053. Ashley will be involved in an eating competition a little bit later on. Ed Hockley, I guess, feels really bad about what happened in the Charger game. He's a referee that blew the call at the Charger Denver game. And he feels bad. He's not having a great week. He is getting thousands of emails, hate mails. And he's responding to every one of them, which I got to give him credit for. And he says that he knows he failed miserably and he apologizes for the blown call and wishes he can go back in time and fix it, but nothing he can do about it. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We've got some tough spots in our freeways here this morning. We've got some leftover slowing on that northbound 15 here as you come up out of Poway. Actually, yeah, from Poway up to the scene of this earlier accident. I had an overturned car here in the 56, and that's out of the way now in a minor slowdown left over there. Southwest out of the 15, still pretty backed up that way to Vescondido, off to 78 down to Villarancho Parkway, and then slows again off around Little Pockets from Bernardo Center Drive all the way down to Mercy Road on that side. Heading south in the... on the North Kennedy shoreline. Not too bad. Briefly near Santa Fe Drive coming out of Vinsonitas. Westbound 52, some minor slowdown coming off the Mast Boulevard exit, heading up onto the 52 West. A little minor slowdown again in the Mission Trail Summit. West 8, good-looking ride all the way to Mission Valley. No problems there. The King Freeway, though, is backed up heavily from College Avenue, then 11 Grove, to the 805. More brake lights from 28th Street into downtown. And coming up into the South Bay, pretty rough on both the 5 and the 805 northbound now. At Chula Vista up in the National City, 805 continues slow up to around Home Avenue. Slows again briefly into North Park. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. From the Cricket Wireless Studios. Now back to The Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I like all types of foods. I have no food allergies. Eddie. A little bit of a Star Wars fan. Yes. I've seen the original Star Wars probably over 200 times. Sky. I'm very conservative on a daily basis when it comes to the wardrobe. Sean. I floss a minimum of three times a day. Boston Rock. It's a transient style that I've developed. And Ashley. I can't control my laughter. I love it, everything. On Rock 105.3. I get 722. Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin had her Yahoo email account hacked this week. Minnesota quarterback Tavares Jackson is being benched. They're going to go with Gus Farratt for the rest of the season. Coach Childress explains his decision. You got it, Shane? It's all right. I'm just not seeing right now the aggressiveness from Tavares that I... Saw throughout the offseason training camp, the two preseason games that he played in. I know Gus will give us that, and I know his approach will also lend itself to that. I have a question. Yeah. Because people at home can't see what we just saw as that clip was playing, but why was he cowering inside of an empty inner tube from a Mack truck?
It's like a tire, and he's like hiding inside of the shell. Well, he doesn't want to be, you know, got. He doesn't want to be found. It's one of those giant tires that you put an inner tube of a semi-truck in. You'll know what I'm talking about. Sure. Listen to the clip again. You can hear him in there hiding. I'm just not seeing right now the aggressiveness from Tavares that I saw throughout the off-season training camp. We can see him in there. I see him in there. With a microphone in his hand. And I know his approach will also lend itself to that. So strange. So, so strange. It is, for sure. We're all different. There's a special report coming on television right now. I guess the president is supposed to speak. Matt, we're told to expect no new announcements, no new policies. It is, as you say, a reassurance message. He wants to show that he's in touch and in charge.
that he understands the concerns that Americans are feeling as this market goes on its roller coaster ride, and that he is in charge if he is in touch. The American people are concerned about the situation. Way to go. That's awesome. Yeah, you should probably stop talking when he talks, right? I'm not done with my report. ...on our financial markets and our economy, and I share their concerns. I've canceled my travel today to stay in Washington. Oh, well, how about that? Face on our faces. He was going to Six Flags. I was going to go on that new Superman ride. You were? I was really bummed. President Bush, I heard that you were looking forward to Thursday so much. You couldn't wait. I mean, I've been thinking about this trip for a long time, and I've canceled it now so I can talk to you about money. That's right. And stuff. Is it true that you kept saying to Laura, 12 more hours, six more hours? I couldn't even sleep last night. And I woke up and they go, nah, dude, you can't go. And I'm like, what? What do you mean? I've been planning this trip for a long time. And no, you can't go on the Superman ride. They really said, nah, dude, you can't go. You can't go. It's devastating. You know, we're real informal in the White House.
Oh, it's brutal, man. That had to be tough. Yeah, because, you know, Thursday's cool, not a lot of lines. Not a lot of lines. You don't get, like, a certain pass for the president to get to go to the front? What are you talking about? President Bush, you didn't know? They have a front-of-the-line pass. Yeah, you can buy that. You can buy it. You get to go right to the front line. The economy's bad. I can't afford it. I get it. I get it. Well, I didn't mean to interrupt you, President Bush. Go ahead. Let me continue. Yes, yes. where I'll continue to closely monitor the situation in our financial markets. President Bush, it's really cool how you'll take time to just talk to us, by the way. Well, yeah. I mean, you guys are very important to me. Well, we know you're a P1, which also is really bad. Yeah, absolutely. It's really cool. But, you know, I got a lot of stuff I got to talk about right here, you know, about the... Oh, okay. Should I let you get back to it? The money stuff. Should I let you get back to your speech? Let me find my place. Okay, I'm ready. Okay. Consult with my economic advisors. I spoke to Secretary Paulson this morning, and I will meet with him later on today. Is Secretary Paulson... Sorry to interrupt again, sir. Yeah, go ahead. Sure. Sorry to interrupt. I really don't mind. Is Secretary Paulson your actual secretary? I've never met him. Don't know who that is. It's written down for me here on this card. Okay.
Maybe my secretary. No, no, Gail's my secretary. She's so sweet. Should I let you get back to your speech? Hold on. Okay, ready. In recent weeks, the federal government has taken extraordinary measures to address the challenges confronting our financial markets. We've taken control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the home finance agencies, to help promote market stability and to ensure they can continue to play. a role in helping our housing market recover. This week, the Federal Reserve acted to prevent the... President Bush, you okay? You all right? All right. Listen, I get a little choked up when I talk about Bernie Mac. No, it's not Bernie Mac. He was a great entertainer.
I love this show. Freddie Mac is an institution. Oh, the Leachinger Queen. No, no, no. It's Freddie Mercury. He is a good... Freddie Mac, that's what his friends called him. Oh, gosh. Freddie Mac is a loaning institution. It's a bummer he's gone to. You know, all the good ones go too early. That's right. Well, let's let you get back to your speech. Hold up. Okay, ready. Orderly failure of the insurance company AIG. Development that could have caused a severe disruption in our financial markets. and threatened other sectors of the economy. Yesterday, the Security and Exchange Commission took action to strengthen investor protections and step up its enforcement actions against illegal market manipulation. Last night, the Federal Reserve, in coordination with central banks around the world, took a substantial step to provide additional liquidity to the U.S. financial system. These actions are necessary, and they're important.
President Bush, what does liquidity mean? He just used the word. He just used the word. That's funny. The markets are adjusting to them. Our financial markets continue to deal with serious challenges. As our recent actions demonstrate, my administration is focused on meeting these challenges. The American people can be sure we will continue to act to strengthen and stabilize our financial markets. and improve investor confidence. Thank you. That ain't good. Pretty good job, huh? Yeah, you did great. Well, you know, honestly, I'm so bored with all this. I want to talk about 90210. Oh, hey, talk about it. Did you hear? Oh, I heard. Who's Kelly, the daddy of Kelly's baby? Yeah, who's Kelly's baby's daddy? Who is it? Dylan. Is it really Dylan? Yeah.
I can't even believe it. It really is, Dylan. That means Luke's going to come back, right? Well, we don't know that yet. He said he wasn't coming back to 90210. Will Dylan just bail on the baby? It looks like he has. I don't think he's that kind of guy. Plus, I didn't think that you were the kind of guy, President Bush, to be watching 90210. I loved it. It was my favorite show. She'd work on the economy a little bit. Focus on that. Focus on that. Just for a second. That's our president, ladies and gentlemen. That's President Bush. There he is. When we come back, ladies and gentlemen, we really will be doing something called Tough love with Eddie. Just wanted to break in with that live news from President Bush where he didn't really say anything. He didn't really tell us anything new. No, we don't already know. The Mikey Show on Rock 105.3. Super young when this song came out. Do you remember it? I think it came out in like 85, 86. Somewhere around there. So, yeah, that was probably 12. I like this stuff. I love this song. It is 737. There are reports that the Obama campaign said thanks but no thanks to Lindsay Lohan's offer to help the campaign. And the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City Chiefs. Wow. They named Tyler Thigpen as their starting quarterback this week. Thigpen? Charlie Brown? Yeah, with all the dust around him. Come on, guys. Zess Friend? I don't know how that dude Zess hangs with. No, wait a minute. Wait a minute. The name Thigpen I recognize as a NFL name. Well, I recognize it as an NFL name, but I thought that that was a name that I heard a while back, and maybe it was like a different position or something. Yeah, I don't think this is.
Because this is his first NFL start. Oh, no, no. I'm thinking. Oh, good grief. It's a very, it's not a very common name. Yeah. Something in. It's only his second year. Maybe. No, no, no, no. I'm not thinking him. I'm thinking, I wonder if he's related to a guy that used to play in the league. He used to be named Thigpen. I don't know. That's a funny name. But I don't know who it was. You don't. That name doesn't ring a bell to you. Not really. I thought there was a wide receiver. Oh, come on, Charlie Brown. As soon as you said it, I'm like, is it that dude? And then I'm like, no, it can't be that guy, obviously. They're down to their third string quarterback now. Who are they playing? This week, Atlanta. Wow. So, I mean, Atlanta could get their second win of the year. Oh, my. Didn't think would happen. What a trip. Hey, this is on the economy and everything. It's just talking about stocks. One point typically equals $1.5 billion. This week, over a trillion of wealth was erased from our citizens. That's crazy. Wow. It's P1 Broker. Let's see. Mikey, the YouTube clip of the day that you played was from a Dutch talk show, When the Swedish Show, and the host was fired after the airing of it. P1 Dutchman. Wow. The phone lines are blowing up, and I know what it is. What? It's the Thigpen thing. I think people are calling to say who I was thinking of.
Let's see. This is P1 Scott. Are you there? Who do you think I was thinking of? Bobby Figpen. He was a pitcher. Yeah, I was thinking Bobby Figpen, too, but Mike doesn't know baseball. I don't know baseball. I don't know anything about baseball. He's thinking of a football guy. I don't know a Figpen in football. Neither do I. Maybe I'm thinking of the kid I razzed in second grade. Figpen. It's going to drive me nuts. Yeah, I can tell it's already driving you nuts. That's who it was. Calm down, bro. There it is. P1 Charger. P1 Chargerholic. Yeah. Who was it? It was Yancy Thigpen. That's right. Wow. Yancy Thigpen. Yancy? Yeah. That's a doozy on both ends. I know it. Who did he play for? I think it was like the Steelers or the Oilers when they were still like the Tennessee Oilers. Let me tell you something. You know how every once in a while,
something happens where it's like taking a box out of the attic. That's what that was like for me. I do remember Yancey Thigpen now. Eddie said the word Thigpen and all of a sudden it was like rattling a box in my brain and it was like, oh yeah, I know that from somewhere. Yancey Thigpen. Oh my goodness. That was driving me nuts. Go ahead, Ash. Yeah, B-Dub is on the inside line and he knows exactly Who he is and where he was drafted. B-Dub, how do you know Yancey Thigpen? He was actually drafted by the Chargers. Was he really? Yes. When was this? This was, I think, I want to say, because he played against the Chargers in the big game in 1994 when they went to the playoffs. He was playing for the Steelers. So it must have been around 91. Uh-huh. Never really cut it. Then after, I think, a little three or four years with the Steelers, he moved on to the Tennessee Titans. What a trip. I knew that name, and when Eddie said it, I was like, okay, now that can't be the same guy. No. Obviously. The funny part was when you say if they're related, now, not saying they can be related, but there's a big discrepancy in the pigment of their skin. Was Yancey Thigpin a black dude or a white dude? He was a black dude. Okay, and this guy is a white dude? Correct. Gotcha. Gotcha. It's not a very common name.
No, not at all. It is not a common name. No. No. Well, thank you for the call, B-Dub. My pleasure, guys. That is the program director for the sports station here in the Clear Channel building. And Jonathan Lipnicki. That's right. Jonathan Lipnicki grew up. He would look just like B-Dub. Exactly. That's right. Oh, wow. He is also Eddie's former roommate. Correct. That's right. Oh, what about this? Oh, yeah. Have fun, guys. Skye's favorite. Why is he staring at me like that, Mike? I think that what that look says, Skye. Do you want us to have a stare-off? Get ready to heal. Got a giant cup of healing for you. Oh, yeah. See, the idea is that Eddie can be very frank.
He can tell it like it is. He can, as they say, shoot from the hip. And kick you in the shin. Well, you know, Skye, sometimes that's what it takes in order for somebody to truly be aided. I disagree, but okay. And so you're about to hear what we call tough love with Eddie. Our first letter reads, Dear Eddie, My boyfriend does something so gross and I want him to stop. He refuses to blow his nose into Kleenex and instead does something he calls a farmer's handkerchief. Every man listening has done it. And I've got probably a couple of women. Just saw on national TV Monday night, Zach Thomas blow the biggest one ever right when the cameras cut to him. Did he use the thumb or the forefoot or the indexing? Yeah, he used the thumb. Close the notch roll. Blew it. It was awesome. I prefer the top of the index finger myself. I mean, that works too. Because what it does is it keeps the hand as far away from the nose as possible. Anyway, this email goes on to say, yeah, he does the farmer's handkerchief. And do you know what that is? She says. She goes on to explain. She says it's when you blow your nose by holding one nostril and blowing out the other nostril right onto the ground.
It is so disgusting. I've told him how gross it is. And he doesn't seem to care because he still does it all the time. Can you give me some advice and try to get him to stop? That's P1 Lucille in RB. Eddie? Yeah. Dear snot to trot. Yeah. I mean, duh. You heard us talking about it. Of course I've heard of the snot rocket. And you're right. It's pretty gross. I mean, especially when the snooter doesn't clear the chamber. Here's the deal, Lucille. Most guys do this, as Mikey said. It's called going green. Yes, guys. Ever hear of it? I love it. Why waste a perfectly good Kleenex where you can just blow your nose using Mother Earth? Why would you waste? Why would you waste? Why would you waste? It is biodegradable. It is. It is. Plus the burger is green. That's right. Sometimes. Sometimes. All right. Now, the only point of using Kleenex is to check the goods out after the fact. Don't act like you don't do it.
Everybody does it. What are we, children? Calm down. What are we, children? Everybody has to see what's going on. If you got a good one or not. That's right. Come on, you know. I think you know. Now we're going to have to show her. Okay. Can you hand me that Kleenex right there? I got one. Okay. Listen, just deal with the guy. An occasional booger bomb is not going to hurt you. Oh, it could. Unless he accidentally gets it on you, then. All bets are off, but this guy sounds like a pro, so you'll be fine with snot pockets. No, you didn't. Oh, yes, you did. Make it snot. Oh, yeah. Our next letter reads. Really gross, Eddie. Thank you. Dear Eddie, my wife and I have been married for about five years. About a year into our marriage, she started doing this thing where any time we had even the smallest disagreement, she would start shouting really loudly. I mean, she lets it fly. I've always tried to counter with that calm tone, but it never does any good. I've asked her to stop with the yelling, and she responded with, quote, Oh, does baby want his baba?
Unquote. Oh, my gosh. Which really makes me mad. And now, frankly, I'm sick of it. What can I do? That's P1 Grayskull from Chula Vista. Eddie? Dear, I dream of screaming. Oh, boy. You're right. It is not a good idea to yell back because it's only going to make it worse. So what I would do when she starts to scream and yell again is. Sit her down. I mean, look her in the eye and say, look, I wanted to marry someone. If I wanted to marry someone with a volume problem like Sky, I would have put lipstick on a bullhorn and said, I do. Wow. Wow. All right. Wow. Wow. Of course, you can follow that up with, and I'm glad we haven't had kids yet because instead of being born with a silver spoon in their mouth, they'd be born with a brass trumpet in their throat. Okay. Wow. Wow. That definitely puts things in perspective. And now, of course, this begs the question, how do you stop her from screaming all the time? Well, just like when a cat does something wrong, you know, you kind of squirt them with the water.
But in this case, I would encourage a little pepper spray about the face. You know, really, we shouldn't just focus on the negative here. There are some positives. She could get a job doing the news on the radio. Of course, she could get a job with the police during high-speed chases. She could yell at the suspect's car, bursting all four tires at once. With her voice. But really, my advice is run. Wow. Get up right now. Don't pack your bags. Don't get your car keys. Just hit the bricks, pal, and beat it because you are going out. Yes. You are ridiculous. It's wonderful advice. Really? Really? Solid. And our last email asking Eddie for advice is goes like this. It says, Dear Eddie, I heard...
Listen, again, I'm just going to read it straight. Oh, no. I'm just the way it's written. I'm going to read it the way it's written. That's what you got to do. Sometimes they get me, you know, because I'm about to start reading and I'm about to start going grammatic. Come on, Mike. I'm trying to help people here. This one says, Eddie, I heard about snap-on chicks in your garage and my old lady is like... That too, Holmes. Wait, first of all, that wasn't me. It was an email. Yes, forget it. It wasn't even me. He didn't have snap-on posters in his garage, but somebody did. Close enough, though, I guess. Forget it. Anyway, it says, we got married and I have guns and stuff, bro. She gets all scared. Wait, real guns or is he talking about his muscles? Real guns. Okay, okay. He says, we got married and I have guns and stuff, bro. She gets all scared and she's like, take those to your dad's and I am always like, why? Oh, okay then. Yeah. I'm lost. I can't follow this. Is there any punctuation yet? No. All right. Good. It says, she thinks if we have kids, they will shoot each other or shoot our apartment. Yes, valid concern. I used to run with this dude that always did that.
Anyway, homie, you make me laugh. Keep on keeping on. Keep on keeping on, homie. Hey, Eddie, what do you tell her, Holmes? P1 Manny in Oside. Okay. Eddie? Really? Yeah. Dear Manny Oakley. Hey, listen, bro. I've been doing this segment now for about, what, five years? About, yeah. Five years? Yeah. Give or take. I must say that your email was easily the scariest I've ever heard. It's time to play Lyrical Gangster. Your In the Name of Love love song question is in the song Foolish Heart by Steve Perry. He says, foolish heart, hear me calling. Stop before you start what? Calling. You are correct. Awesome. The hot sauce that you gave me from when you went to Jamaica. Not Jamaica. Oh, no. Sandals. The Caribbean. The Island of St. What was it? St. Croix? No. St. Thomas? No. St. Lucia? Yes. I got it. I got it. Good job, Mike. That's right. I can't find it. Yeah. It's unavailable. That's crazy. I have to go to St. Lucia, apparently, to be able to get all of this stuff. It was really good. It was hot.
Welcome back. It's 8.04. A guy stabbed two 17-year-old girls at the Old Town Transit Center yesterday afternoon. One of the girls ended up dying from her wounds. Referee Ed Hockley is not having a good week. He's getting tons of hate mail saying he failed miserably and he also apologizes for his blown call. I feel bad for Ted Hockley. He really is getting it. He's taking a beating. You're not allowed to make a mistake. You are not. You're not. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. And are we ready to do this? Come on. Oh, gosh. Oh, goodness. I got a good money on this. Yeah. Now, we're about to decide gastric for hours. Let's turn the lights on. The Mikey Show presents the Ashley Eating Competition. I'm going with Ashley. Ashley, I'm going with Ashley. Let me tell you. have only gotten better with time. The more we do it, the better it gets. Ashley is a hefty eater. That's all I'm going to tell you. Mommy gets hungry. Mommy eats. Yeah, she likes it. She can't stop high-fiving me. I'm in my hand. She's psyching herself up. Is that it? Well, look at her, man. She is psyched out. She is ready. Ash, are you in the zone? Are you in the zone? I'm feeling it. What is she doing? I can feel her energy.
Is Mommy on some new meds? Not even funny. Okay. Yeah, I'm getting that vibe. No doubt. Mommy is ready to go. Have you eaten this morning? No. Although I saw leftover. She's out of control right now. I saw leftover chicken nuggets. I guess you had some extras. They were in the coffee lobby. You didn't eat any, did you? Yeah, I had a couple. I was hungry. You're doing a competition, lady. I was hungry, so I had one. I was running to get coffee. Do we believe she only had one? No way in the world. No way. Don't do that. Please don't do it. Is that it? That's so weird when she does that. All right. Let's meet her competitor. What is your name?
P1 Kung Fu. Wow, you're getting hugged right now. You're getting molested. I'm basically molested right now. P1 Kung Fu and you're going to be eating chicken. Do you like chicken nuggets? I like chicken nuggets. They're not your favorite thing. I love them. Okay. I know you like them. P1 Kung Fu, have you thought about technique? I did. I practiced last night. Oh, look at that. My husband, my base coach was right there. That's good. We worked some things out. I'm pretty confident. Here's the way it works. The way that it works is that you are on a timer. Is that Ashley's? Yes. That big, giant thing of water? Dude, it's that Voss. Water. You know, so it's like glass. It's so heavy. Right. So, I mean, as you're slamming the nuggets and you need to drink water, you have to, like, use two hands to pick up this crazy, heavy bottle. And then if you go fast, then you're slamming the glass into your teeth. Oh, damn. Think of that. Right? It is. It's heavy glass. Everything Ashley does is bad strategy. We need to talk about the sauce.
I've got a game plan. Before we talk about the sauce, let's kind of recap here where we've been and where we are. Kind of like the finale of Survivor. Exactly. The very first time we ever did this, I believe they were eating, I don't remember. What was it? The Marshies. The Marshies. Second time we did the eating competition, Ash, and she won that, by the way. Yeah, the Marshies. She won the Marshies. No, I didn't. Oh, no. Oh, yeah. Big time. Big time. But then you came back. She had the marshmallows all in her face. That's right. It wasn't pretty. But then she came back. She did crackers, and she came back. She killed it. Yeah, that's right. She killed that. Now. The next competition was bananas, and she did not do it. That was disgusting. That was the grossest thing to ask. Disgusting. I still have nightmares. From the other end, it was bad advice. Right. It was. But now the fourth competition is chicken nuggets. Yeah. I love them. So Ashley is holding in her hand a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch. Delicious. This is not. What is going on?
Delicious. Kobe Ashley. Kobe Ashley. That is bad. You're really going to, you're going to, listen, you have been advised by your first base coach, Eddie, and your boyfriend, Mark. My life coach. My life coach. My boyfriend. I love you so much. I love you so much. I knew. Please. Eddie is her base coach. Her boyfriend, Mark, is apparently her life coach. That is ridiculous. Her life coach. So, Ashley, both have told you don't use ranch. Don't dip, right? Don't dip. So... So you're right, and I really wanted some dippage because I think it'll make the chicken nuggets go down faster. Seth came in and gave me a great suggestion. What did he say? Seth is an idiot. To put it over the nuggets prior. Yeah, you can. Can I do that? Yeah, but what you're doing, yeah, go ahead. You're basically adding more mass. She wants to do it. Bad idea. Now Kung Fu? I think that Ashley is just, she's just hungry. Don't be shy there. Keep going. Oh my God. Now Kung Fu, are you using any ranch or no? Write your mic.
No sauce for me. But I want to know, is water okay? Anything you want to do is fine. I got it in the bag then. If you wanted to, french fries. You could add anything. Steak. It's only going to make it harder. Ashley has each individual little nugget covered in Hidden Valley Ranch. And she's now showing her guns. Ashley's flexing her bicep. Do you see that? I'm ready. Get in the zone, man. Eddie, what does P1 Kung Fu stand to win? Metallica tickets. Oh, my God. I'm going to remind you of something. Ashley plays to win, and if you lose, you lose. Ashley gets to give the prize to one of her friends, and her friends are all rooting for her. Of course. You know what I'm saying? So whoever wins, wins. Now, what we're looking at is in front of each girl, a paper plate with chicken nuggets on it. I feel like we're at Gallagher, like we need the tarp, you know, to cover ourselves from the splatter. Eddie, it's 60 seconds, correct? Yes. They have 60 seconds. Hopefully, they... Now, we know exactly how many is on each plate because that's how we're going to count. How many? Right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think there's 10. So we got to make sure we know how many is on each plate so that we know...
You know, how many has been eaten? 15 per plate. There are two plates in front of them. They're stacked on top of each other. And there is a paper plate dividing each. Or there's a paper towel dividing each paper plate. And so there's a lot of chicken nuggets in front of them. They will not run out of chicken nuggets. Are you two ready? Look at Ash. Ash is crouched. Ash is crouched and bent at the hips. And P1 Kung Fu is. She's kind of being psyched out by Ashley and sort of going, should I do the same thing she's doing? Yeah, she's kind of looking at her, not sure what. By the way, all of this is being videotaped, and you'll be able to see all of this on MikeyShow.com later today. Is Ashley crouching? I don't understand that technique. That's her technique. Ashley has not put her hands on a nugget, and P1 Kung Fu has. You can do whatever you want. Oh, she is. Ashley is. With the ranch.
All right. On your mark. Oh, God. Get set. Back it up. Go. Ashley has a full one in. One in all the way down. Ashley's got two in. Oh, my gosh. And it looks like Kung Fu is breaking the nuggets up. Ranch all over her face. Oh, that looks disgusting. I'm really grossed out now. Ashley is now chewing. Ashley, no time to chew. Just swallow. Oh, God. Why is she choking? Ashley's going for the water. She's choking a little bit. Eyes are watering. Now, P1 Kung Fu just took a drink of some Aquafina water. She's now breaking those nuggets up into pieces. Kung Fu looks strong. Ashley looks like she's struggling. That was disgusting. That just came out of her mouth. That was so gross. P1 Kung Fu very measured. Very timed. She's very calculated. Ashley is just going for the gusto. She doesn't know what she's doing. She's just chewing and eating. And swaying. It's like she has a tail and she's wagging her tail. Get them down. Get them down, girls. Come on. Look at how calm and collected P1 Kung Fu is. I gotta tell you, Ashley is killing it right now. Way in the lead. Let's go. That's it. Time. Down, Ashley. Put that down, Ashley. Put the nugget.
Nuggets for closers. That's right. Just put it on the table, Ashley. Ashley looks like... Oh, no. Are you okay? Ashley looks like... Cry, cry, cry. She actually has tears coming out of her eyes. Sounds like it went down the wrong pipe or something. What do you want? You want the tears to come out of my eyes? Ashley has tears coming out of her eyes. Sky, help your girl. Hey, lady, you need the Heimlich? What's going on? CPR. CPR. CPR. Too much meat. Are you okay, Ash? Too much meat. Wow. Eddie, talk to me. We have a count. This is unbelievable. Go ahead. P1 Kung Fu was able to get down four and a half nuggets. Four and a half full nuggets down. Right. Ashley was able to get down eight nuggets. What are you talking about? It was eight. Oh, my God. Wait till you see it online. It was fantastic. It was a slaughter. Ashley's friends just got Metallica tickets. Fantastic. Impressive. Impressive. Oh, my God. First of all, let's talk to our winner.
Ashley, talk to me about technique. Talk to me about everything. She's eating another one. She's eating another one as we speak. As we speak. I'd like to thank the promotion team for cooking up some delicious nuggets. They went down nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's choking again. She's choking again. My strategy at first was overload. Her eyes are full of tears. Her eyes are full of tears. And I almost choked because I was stuffing them. We saw it come flying out of your mouth. So then I decided to take a different tactic and do the two bite, which is what I initially wanted to do. Two bite nugget form. And that seemed to work for me. It worked. You know, victory is mine. Ashley, you're a champion. You're a champion. This feels good, Mike. You're a champion. Hey, you want to thank you? She's shaking her opponent's hand. Now she's hugging her strongly. Stop molesting her. Strongly hugging her. With her eyes closed, by the way. Definitely harder than it looks. What happened? You know what? She started choking and I was scared. I was like, oh my God, I'm not going down like that. Right, right, right.
And what about last night? You practiced? I did. I got seven down. So I'm kind of disappointed. But, you know, Mommy starved herself last night. Yeah, Mommy starved herself. But how is that different for Mommy than any other day, really? I mean, we're really being honest about it. The Mikey Show continues. Thank you for being big enough to laugh at yourself this morning. Actor Ryan O'Neal and his son were both arrested yesterday for narcotics possession. Come on, Padres. Still going for that 100-loss season. They got shut out by the Rockies 1-0 last night. How do you like that? Tell you this, people in Kung Fu knows what it's like to be shut out. Thank you, Mike. doubled the amount of nuggets. Yeah. Annihilated her. Oh, that's crazy. It wasn't even close. No. And did you, I mean, when it was going on, I didn't think it was that big of a blowout. But holy moly. Remember when the 49ers played Denver in 89 in the Super Bowl? 55 to 10. That's right, Eddie. Oh, so you do remember. Yes, Eddie does remember that. Barely. It was a lot like that.
Oh, Ashley, you are the man. Yeah. Thank you. She tore it up. Absolutely. It was delicious. Eddie, sports question. Sure. I would like to know, on a scale of 1 to 10, how concerned are you about LT's toe? 1 being not concerned at all, 10 being extraordinarily concerned. A four. That's pretty good. Well, you know, I mean, I'm concerned, but I'm not overly concerned. He says that it feels better than it did last week, and he was able to play last week. Obviously not as effective as we're used to, but he was still out there playing, and if it feels better this week, you've got to imagine he's going to play better this week. So, you know, I'm hoping that he's going to be okay and be back to the LT form.
He is a real good football player. Sky has a question. I have a question. I saw on the news last night they were talking about that yesterday at practice, the media wasn't allowed for the first part of the defense practice or something. But they didn't really explain why that is. Do they think people are going to steal their stuff? Or is it because they just are looking bad and they don't want the media there? Or do we not know why? I really don't know. Probably a lot of that. Their defense has been terrible, and they probably are switching things up, and they don't want it out there before the game. You know, maybe personnel. You know, I think, you know, you saw a lot of Tim Dobbins last week for Matt Wilhelm, the guy that I said was playing terrible, remember? Right. And, you know, I think this week, I think Tim Dobbins is going to get a bulk of the playing time. Really? Yeah, which is good because Tim Dobbins played great. He was the guy that recovered the fumble. That never happened. Dude, he played Andy Dufresne in Shawshank Redemption. Oh, really? And he was also in the movie Jacob's Ladder. Oh, my God. He was really good in that film. Wow. That's talented. Tim Robbins. What's it? Tim Robbins is who you're thinking of. It's a different person. Dean Dobbins. I'm sure it was the same person. You were close, Mike. I'm sure it was the same person. Yeah, it's not. All right.
Ted Nugent sent Sarah Palin a copy of his upcoming book. Yeah, I guess. He's a gift giver. Okay, okay. That's interesting way to look at it. He does. He gives gifts. The book is called Ted White and Blue, The Nugent Manifesto. Ted White and Blue, The Nugent Manifesto. Yeah, it comes out early next month. And Ted figured that since, you know, that just like Sarah Palin, he also likes to hunt and fish and enjoy Alaska, that they have a lot in common and that she would appreciate a copy of his book before it hits. Make him like Secretary of State. Yeah, why not? So Palin's camp has not responded to a request for a comment on this story. Let's see. Text us. 35253. This text message says, Mikey, for the 28-hour show, what if Sky and Zeth were to get the band going and call it Ham and Oats? I like it. Ham and Oats. You're the ham. I figured that part out. Zethian Oats.
Zethi announces his name. Let's do it, Ham. That's right. That is not my name. Come on, O. And during the 28-hour show, sometimes we do have a Hall & Oates moment or two. It's true. But that's as far as that to go. At like 4 a.m. That's correct. We have a dance-off. It is. Keep going. Let's see. This one says, Mikey, I knew Kobe Ashley would win. Go moments. Be one oddball. She did very good. She's so proud of herself. She did very, very good. It was very gratifying to win because I couldn't have two loses in a row. Losses. No, it's the loses. You're right, Ashko. Losses in a row. Losses. That would be really bad. It's like in the UFC. It's like if you lose twice and then the third time, it's like you're out. You're screwed. There it is. That was the ranch. The ranch was delicious. Did it help? Yeah, and it did help because it tasted good, so I didn't freak out about the fact that I was eating so much processed meat at once, which would have caused me to throw up. Yeah. Because it freaks me out. Ellen says that two of the girls from promotions, by the way, in the studio audience for the show Ellen today. Smashley's going to be in the studio audience watching Ellen today. Awesome!
Get taped. I wonder how long that takes to air. If it's anything like Letterman or Conan or whatever, it's like, well, they do it the same day, but I bet they do it next day. Yeah, I think they do it the day before. My friend went and she said they did like four shows in one day. Oh, really? Oh, wow. Can you imagine? And it was crazy. Like, what a life. You go in one day, you crank out a whole bunch of episodes, and then what? Go swimming. Get in the pool, put on some suntan lotion and hang out. Pretty nice life. Ellen says that Ryan Seacrest is responsible for talking her out of a big wedding. Yeah. Those two girls chatting. Well, so, you know, Ellen and her partner, Portia de Rossi, got married a little while ago. And initially, they had planned this big wedding. And I guess it kind of started. They wanted something small. But then Justin Timberlake said he would sing. And then they're like, well, if Timberlake's coming, then we really should invite this person and that person. No, it's Justin Timberlake. Timberlake. Yeah. Justin Timberlake. You're saying Justin Timberlee. Timberlee. Justin Timberlee. Timberli. Timberli.
You're drunk. And so they start inviting more and more people. And then I guess Ellen had a conversation with Ryan Seacrest. And he was like, are you sure that's what you really want for your day? Because I'm gay. You should do something like this. Your colors should be. Yeah. You're gay. Ellen said she realized that Seacrest was right and made calls. He is a gay man. And basically disinvited everyone. And then had a small little thing with just like 20 people, just like family members and stuff. Wow. Yeah. Oh, Seacrest. That's right. Sounds like they're all having a lot of fun together. Lars Ulrich. The main thing really is just the fans. How do you communicate with your fans? How do you get the music to the fans? How do you offer your fans the best Metallica experience? Metallica. I'd like to think that Metallica over the years. There's an M-E on the front of that, bro. Yeah, there really is. I mean, it's a big band. He should know how to pronounce it. I mean, you heard it. I mean, he's in the industry. He's doing these things. I float around in our own little bubble. We do things our way, and sometimes we take some chances, and sometimes we play it safe, and sometimes we're on the front lines, and sometimes we're on the second wave or whatever, but we kind of do it in our own little bubble. A polka album coming out. Oh, you do? Wow. I play accordion. Oh, I didn't know.
With wooden shoes. Oh, okay. Well, that sounds neat. There's a television program on the satellite that is, I can't remember the name of it. It's like Uncle Bob's Polka Hour or something. And sometimes if it's on and I hear Rebecca, I'll put it on. Are you talking about Polka Joe? Yes. Oh, my gosh. Holy cow. That's a great show. The fact that he knows that is crazy because I'm telling you, it is on one of the most obscure channels. I don't know. It's on the RFD, the Rural Free Delivery. It is on RFD. What's that? Rural Free Delivery. Is that the one that had that cooking show that Sean did for Sean TV that one time? Dude, I don't know. Cowboy flavor. I'm telling you that this show. is shot on a, not like new equipment. It's shot on an old video camera, probably with a video cassette tape in it. That's awesome. Because it looks, and the sound is like whatever sound they capture pretty much from the internal microphone. Wow. He says it's happy music for happy people. Oh, that's what he says. Sounds like fun. Sean, you got to get audio of that.
Should I have audio of it? What? You are electric. Come on, guy. I'm bringing it tomorrow. Yes. Why would anyone have audio of Polka Joe? But he does. Saving it for the next Sean TV, probably. That's right. Let's see if I can. Let's see if I can find Polka Joe immediately. That's unreal. Polka Joe. Here we go. Too good on the space, Mike. There he is. He's on the space tube? He sure is. Here it comes. Every week, dude's got a show on TV. Wow. Well, sounds like a blast. I drive my wife nuts with it every week. This is hysterical. So Sarah Palin, she was on Hannity and Combs, finally. And she was talking about a variety of different issues. A variety of different issues. And Sean Hannity was asking her, so what up with the economy?
I think the corruption on Wall Street, that is to blame. And that violation of the public trust and that contract that should be inherent in corporations who are spending, investing other people's money, the abuse of that is what's got to stop. And it's a matter, too, of some of these CEOs and top management people and shareholders, too, not holding that management accountable, being addicted to, we call it opium, OPM, other people's money. It's true. OPP. You down with OPM? Yeah, you know me. That's right. Every last dollar. Skrill. We were at lunch the other day and we were talking about this and this topic of the credit card money. The credit card money is gnarly and just how people are like, oh, it's free money, right? Like, yeah, I'm going to pay this back. That's crazy. And it gets out of control. Yeah. Austin Rob can relate. He says, yeah, I've been using that for a while. A lot of free money. Now they're coming to collect. Yes. Good luck. Some people spend like they think if there's still a balance left on their credit card, it's like cash in their pocket. It's not. It's not. No, it's really not. It's not. No, it's not. It's not. San Diego County's medium home price is at the lowest point in the last five and a half years. Oh, my. It's good news if you're buying. Kick us while we're down, Mike. Put a positive spin on it. If you're buying.
Hey, good for you. Yeah. So San Diego County's medium home price is $350,000. Shut up. Yeah, it was at its peak in November of 2005 at $517,000. Wow. Now $350,000. $50,000 just a few years later. So you can expect, you know, any house that you remember looking at a few years ago, just deduct a couple of hundred thousand dollars, and that's how much you pay for it now. Unreal. Yeah, so that's 26% lower than last year and about 4% lower than last month. But, you know, sales still are picking up and there's more and more sales every month. So that's, you know, a good thing because it's a great time to buy if you can. Yeah, for sure. Ty Pennington helped out a fan when he ran out of gas on the side of the road. A fan helped him out. Oh, is that what happened? When he ran out of gas. Yeah, Ty Pennington is the one who ran out of gas. I was thinking he was a hero.
No, no. Yeah, he's a dummy. Really firm. Well, I mean, I'm sorry. I mean, it's kind of... I'm so... Listen, I am... There's a little gauge there. My dad really hammered this into me about the whole... My dad taught me when I was growing up, I should never know what my gas light looks like when it's on. Right? I should never... And it became like almost a superstition. But, yeah. You've got to really get low to run out of gas.
And so it turned out to be somebody that's like a fan of his that helped him out. Yeah. Well, he was in Toledo, Ohio doing, you know, one of the home makeover shows and was driving, ran out of gas on the side of the road. And a woman and her daughter were driving by. And, of course, the woman's like, we're not going to pick up some crazy guy on the side of the road. And the daughter's like, no, I swear, that's Ty Pennington. I swear, that's Ty Pennington. And so they ended up pulling over, helping the guy out. And then Ty hooked. them up with VIP access to the home they were remodeling. They're in Toledo. The mother says she felt so privileged to be by the house where everyone else was behind barricades. Wow. Congrats. It's an honor. It's a million honor. Construction site. You mean it? Did you ever go to that? thing that you were invited to that you said yes to and you didn't really want to go it was like a birthday party or something yeah yeah it was uh yeah a birthday party zeth yeah we brought this up briefly we never went into it zeth is a can't say no person um and everybody knows a can't say no person and you may yourself be a can't say no person but um without giving out any names it was a birthday party invitation right right
You didn't want to go. No, I did not. And did you respond immediately or did you take some time? I was kind of put under the gun. So it was, hey, you want to? I'm like, yeah. Now, to a person that can't say no, them saying do you want to is being put under the gun. Oh, yeah. Definitely. You heard him say it. That's the hot seat for him right now. You heard him say it. He's like, hey, I was put under the gun. And I was thinking to myself, wow, what did they do? What did they say? He said, well, they asked me if I wanted to go. Oh, that's terrible. Now, are we sure this wasn't Dr. Wayne's birthday party? Could have been. Mike said we weren't saying names. Yeah, I'm not supposed to say names. Way to go, Rob. Great. Zeth did go to that, so. Zeth, was it one of those deals where you got there and ended up having a good time, or were you kind of miserable the whole time? It was super awkward, really. I knew like two or three people. Oh, that's the worst. Yeah, and it's like you kind of don't want to latch on to those people just because you know them. But it's, I didn't, I'm not big fans of those people to begin with, but I just knew them. Did you sit in a corner and cry? Yeah, pretty much. Oh, wow. He's sharing with us. I'm sorry to hear that. I figured as much. Cried into my kick. Is there anybody listening that is a can't say no person?
And you've ended up doing some really crazy stuff because, you know, you couldn't say no. And is there anybody, I can tell you this, I used to be a can't say no person. Yeah, me too. I used to find it hard to say no. But I overcame that. And now I'm able to very freely say, no, thank you. And no. No. I'm all good. 570-1053. Our text is 35253. Eddie, where do you sit on this? Yeah, I have no problem saying no and making up things that I do. Yeah. Yeah, really? Yeah. I mean, I used to go, oh, man. Yeah. You know, I got something going on that day. Right. Yeah, lying is the best policy. I don't necessarily say what I'm doing. Oh, see, I do. I lie. I get real specific. Oh, see, I don't do that. I do. Awesome. flying lesson that day. You guys, why not just tell the truth? What's the truth? I am telling the truth. Eddie is kind of telling the truth. I have something going on every day. It's going to be awkward and uncomfortable and I'm not going to have fun so I'd rather not go. You don't want to say that. But that's the truth. Well, here's the truth too. I really have nothing going on. Here's the truth too. I can't make it.
Why? Well, if they ask you, if they write back, but see, usually they don't. See, this is the key. This is the key to being a, you don't have to say yes person. If they write you back and they say, why can't you go? Which is indicative of a very young person. I can understand a 22 year old writing back and saying, why can't you? Because when you're younger, you do that. Ash has got a look on her face like she just smelled a bad fish. But I'm telling you the truth, Ash. Is she cooking in there? I'm telling you, as an adult, when I'm writing other people that are, you know, older people, they don't write me back and say, why can't you go? But you write back and you say, no, thank you? Yeah. No, no, no. I don't say no, thank you. I would never write that so awkward. No, no, no. I didn't say no, thank you. What do you write back? I can't make it. Sorry, I can't make it. And I feel you when you're writing on emails. People normally will respect that and not write back. But when you're having a face to face or an over the phone, the next question is like, oh, what's going on? What are you doing? Well, for me, it's easy because I'm married and you guys are, too. But I don't know about if you're not married. However, always got to consult. Always got to consult. I don't know what's going on that night. And which is the truth. Well, which is that's a maybe then.
That's like I'm consulting. I'll get back to you. It is not necessary to answer immediately and say, no, I can't go. Just like it's not necessary to say, yes, I can go. You could say you could say I need to consult. Let me I'll walk you through it. I'll say, Sky. Yeah. What are you doing? Today is Thursday, right? Sky, what are you doing next Thursday? Oh, I'm not sure. I think I got to talk with the hubs. You know, we can kind of plan things together. OK, let me know. Let me know. There you go. And then I just never let you know? If you don't want to go, if you don't want to go, you've got to let them know. But you've got to write them and you've got to say, hey, I'm sorry, I can't make it. Now, if they write you back and they say, well, why can't you make it? Yeah, like what's going on? Tell them the truth. Now, hang on, let me explain. And what's the truth? How does the truth sound? Hang on. I don't know how the truth sounds. I'll explain. I'll explain. If it were me and I didn't want to go because I was uncomfortable. And somebody said, hey, can you make it? I always, because the truth is, have to check. I don't ever know what's going on. That is the truth. And plus, I would think that if I'm being invited somewhere, I'm probably going to be invited with my wife. Right, yeah. And so I want to see, what do you think? Do you want to go? Right. So I always have to consult no matter what. Now, let's say the truth is I'm an anxious person, which, you know, I can be uncomfortable around groups of people. And so if the truth is, is that that's why, first of all, I would answer.
this is what I learned, and just say, I'm sorry, I can't make it. Now, I'm telling you, in my experience, nine times out of 10, the email response is not, why can't you make it? And I have done this in person as well. Hey, I can't make it. Sorry. Nine times out of 10, I don't get, why can't you make it? But if somebody said, how come you can't make it? There are ways for you to be, polite, not have to give too many details about what's going on with you and draw a boundary. You can make it to where basically if they keep asking questions, they're asking questions knowing you haven't given information. So they're clearly digging. And as long as a person's willing to do that, I'm willing to keep putting up the boundaries. So what would that sound like? Um, let's see. I'm, uh,
anxious, don't really want to do that. Let's walk through it. Let's walk through it. Especially because I haven't had time to think about it. I'll make it better. Okay. Okay. Hey, Sky, that thing that you're doing on Saturday, we're not going to be able to make it. I'm sorry. Oh, that sucks. What's going on? Wait a minute. We got to come up with a different day because I do have stuff going on on Saturday. So we'll have to pretend it's a different day. Let's say it's a... I think people get what we're doing. That would be easy for me. That would be easy. That would be too easy for me. Okay. Yeah, we're going to pretend that this is a day when you really don't have anything going on, but you just don't want to go to this thing. Okay. Okay. So, oh, why? What's going on? You know, I'm going to be spending time with my family. Oh, really? Mm-hmm. Oh, cool. Is everybody okay? Everybody's cool. Yeah? Is it like a little barbecue, or what are you doing? Just family. You're queuing up? Nope. Just family time. No? Just a little family time. It's uncomfortable, isn't it? It puts the other person in an uncomfortable position. For them to continue to pry is weird. If I was that person, I would remember that. I would think that you secretly didn't want to go, and I would probably never invite you again. That is. That is. Now, let me explain. You know what I mean? Now, look at the positives that come from this. That's right. A, I don't want to. Ever? No, no, no, no, no. If I want to, I'm going.
In which case, you will continue to ask me. No, she won't. She just said she won't ask you again. If I'm the type of person that wants to go to said events that she does, and I tell her the truth, and she makes a decision, oh, he's messing with me, I'm not going to invite him to anything else, her bad. That's not my bad. So the truth is you want to spend time with your family? Yeah. No, it isn't. I go to her thing. Hang on. See, in two situations now, somebody has said something I didn't say. I didn't say, oh, yeah, I can't make it. I want to spend time with my family. That's exactly what you said. Pull the tape. You'd be spending family time. I'm going to be spending time with my family. Pull the tape. You're hearing it. What if your family is all out of town? I want to spend time with my family is very different than I'm going to be spending time with my family. It's very different. They may be the same thing, but words are really powerful. And that's what I found out about this whole no thing. Words are powerful. And telling the truth, always tell the truth. It's the easiest thing to remember. And when you're telling the truth, you're fine. Even if it hurts someone's feelings. You don't do it to hurt. You don't say something to somebody in a way that's going to. That's what I said. I could go like this. I could say.
Well, the truth is I don't want to go because I feel really uncomfortable around people and blah, blah, blah, blah. It's not necessary. That's just simply not necessary, especially when you're telling the truth. I agree. And the truth is, is that if I don't go to that thing, I will be spending time with my family. That's the truth. Always tell the truth. Easiest thing to remember. But see, that was a really powerful tool for me to learn because I lived in the. I can't do that. I remember the other day we were talking about this and I said that thing about, I finally realized it's okay to live in the truth. If you're playing your cards, look, put it this way. If you're playing your cards in a very appropriate way, you don't ever have to go away from the truth. Now, there's a lot of different ways to tell the truth. One way to tell the truth is to say to somebody, Man, you really look ugly. Another way to tell somebody the truth is to say, I saw a shirt the other day at Ross, and it totally looked like you. That's another way of telling the truth that you could get that. It's the same kind of deal. Where really? Ross? Yeah, it was great. It was in the blah, blah, blah section, and you should check it out. Both of the things are the truth, but one of them is mean.
And you don't have to do it. It's not necessary. There's always a million different ways to skin a cat. That's the point. 5701053. 35253 is the text number. Phone lines are up. P1 Tommy. What's up? What's up, dude? Not much. Yeah, I'm the can't say no person. I said yes to my buddy for borrowing my truck while we're moving. Well, he ended up wrecking the thing and pulled a lot. How bad was the damage? Where I had an insurance company paid me out for my truck because it was a total loss. Front end, head on crash. Dude. So when he asked to borrow the truck, did your gut say that you wanted to say no, but you just couldn't? Yeah, because we carpooled to work. And I was like, okay, you can borrow it and I'll drive your car to work. And they called me up in the daytime saying it was a total loss.
freak out. That's rough. Sometimes it's hard. What made it worse was my grandpa gave me the truck. No way. Yeah, man. Can you say no now? Yes, I do. What a tough way to learn to say no. Yes, sir. P1 Scuba. What's up, Mikey? What's up, dude? Not much. I'm one of those people that can't say no. So, now, let me ask you before you tell me, have you been a can't say no guy since you were a kid? Yep, go ahead. I was with a couple of friends of mine in Maine, and there was a two-story house doing cannonballs off of into the snowbank. I don't like where this is going. And I wanted to one of them, so I just swan dive into the snowbank and broke my back. Oh, dude! No way. Broke your back? Broke my back. Oh, my gosh. People are crazy. People are nuts. You couldn't see into the snow bank? From the looks of it, it's a high snow bank. It was probably about four or five feet high, but it was hard snow. Oh, dude. It was not a very smart idea. Were you, like, laying there motionless? Yes.
Oh, my gosh. How many guys were there? Oh, what did they do? They, like, pick you up. They call the ambulance. What did they do? Get out of there. They got scared. They ran. I was smart enough not to pick me up. They told everybody else not to, and they called an ambulance, and they came and brought a board, and it was a hospital. You're smart. Hey, dude, thanks for the call. That one's nuts. P1 Sam IM. What's up? I am one of those people that can't say no to my sister. It's like my biggest weakness. You can't say no to your sister? No, anything she asks me to my older sister, I'm always like, okay, and I kind of go along with it. And what it usually is about is she recently just got married, and his family is just off the wall, and they always have dinners for everything, whether it's on the weekend or for church or something, and I always get dragged to them.
The most awkward thing is, is that when I go to these dinners, the parents constantly talk about setting me up with his brother. The thing is, is the brother's gay. Oh, no. Interesting. Interesting. Nice. Sounds gay. And you want to say no to that, huh? Yeah. Yeah, and so we're all sitting around the table and they're talking about how great we would be for each other and how much we have in common. We're kind of lacking something there. Yeah. I wish I knew how to quit you. Well, you both share the love of men, so there's something common. Yes, that is true. Hey, I got a question. I got a question for you, and this was something that somebody that helped me with it did for me. What do you think would happen if you said no? If I said what? No. If I said no, I'd probably end up crushing their feelings, to be honest, because they're really hoping that his decision making kind of turns around. They're not very accepting of it. So they're constantly mentioning it because I was the maid of honor in the wedding. And, you know, the mother of the groom, you know, was in the wedding a lot and with the planning and everything. And she kind of was like one of our other. Well, why is that your responsibility? Yeah, exactly.
And that's why I'm like, oh, you know, I'm kind of dating someone right now, so I don't think it would really work. You don't even have to do that. Yeah, you don't have to. I know. It's not your responsibility how they feel. I know. I know you don't want to hurt their feelings, but. But no. Not only that, not only that, but there's a couple of things going on, too, in that when you say, oh, you would probably, I can't remember how you said it. You said you would probably. shatter their feelings or something like that crush their feelings and uh man that's pretty rough like that if if you saying if you saying yeah i'm gonna pass on that uh if you saying you're gonna pass on going out with someone they want you to go out with that's gay by the way uh is gonna crush their feelings that's rough that's rough you know uh yeah i think you should be able to say Eh, not really interested. When was the last time you checked the air pressure in your tires? Can't remember? Then it's definitely been too long. Did you know even tires in good shape can lose about one pound of pressure a month? And underinflated tires make your engine work harder, lowering your mileage. But don't overinflate them. You can usually find the recommended tire pressure on a sticker located on the driver's side door jamb. And speaking of air, air conditioning is not so hot for your car's mileage either.
Whenever you turn it on, it puts an added strain on your engine. Now, at highway speeds, it's probably better to use the A.C. rather than roll down the windows because of the aerodynamics. But around town, enjoy the fresh air. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com. Things that are dumb. The Wall Street meltdown continued yesterday with the Dow dropping 450 points. Chargers tackle Marcus McNeil says he's 100% and he's going to play Monday night. Really? That's right. It's like Davy Jones. Listen, I honestly have been thinking about this. Oh, wow. I have a press pass. Oh, wow. Dude, I'd go meet him.
I'm really considering going in that locker room. I mean, it's weird because I have no reason to be in there. I mean, he's going to be changing. Interview okay, Eddie. That's all. Well, listen, you go in there with a recording device. Tell your story, by the way, about Pat Bolin. What? What is this? This is one of the craziest things. This is immature Eddie. I don't care. This is young. I would do it now. I would do it now. I don't care. Okay. Pat Bowling is, you know, the owner of the Denver Broncos. And when they won the Super Bowl here in San Diego, he held up the trophy and said, this one's for John. And he did it really stiff and really dorky. It sounded just like Eddie just did it. This one's. For John. It sounded like that. Well said. So we were riding up the press elevator a few years back, and Pat Bolin was in the elevator with us. And I was like nudging Mike. I'm like, dude, that's crazy. And he got off on the floor right before ours. And so he got off, got off, and as the doors were closing, I yelled out, this one's.
For John. Elevator closed. And he turns around and looks at his doors closed. It was perfect. How embarrassing. Dude. Were you embarrassed, Mike? Oh, come on. That was awesome. Oh, man. Awesome. I would have made a horse effect if it was John Elway. P1 Towboy is on the line. Hey, Towboy. Yes, indeed. You have a hard time saying no? Incredibly hard time. What did it end up costing you? It ended up costing a couple years of my life. How? What? Yes, back when I was in college and still in my addiction. You know, my friend came up with a bright idea of let's cut out all the middlemen and just go straight to Mexico to pick up our drugs. Really? What did he want you to do? I was just cruise with him. You know, it's like it was a half-half deal, you know, so we'll go down there, we'll pick it up, we'll come back. Cut out all the middlemen. And what are we talking? Pot, cocaine, cocaine? Cocaine. Cocaine. Cocaine. Cocaine. It was weed. It was weed. It was weed. Yeah. And so what did you do? You guys, how did this go down? We, you know, we just took a weekend off. We took his van. We went down there.
A van. Okay, already. Already. Already. Already. I love weed. A van. Yeah, with a pot leaf painted on the side. Cheech and Chong bumper stickers. Yeah. Said the dream machine on the side. Mystery machine. No, we picked up a, it was a table, and it was actually made out of it, and it weighed out to be 133 kilos. You went to pick up a table. Yes. And the table was made out of pot? Yes, it had a false facade on it. It was made to look like oak, but it was actually weed. Oh, my gosh. What? Dude. All right. And so how far... First of all, it's okay to ask all these questions now because it's already in the past, right? Yeah, this is water under the bridge. Okay, then I got questions. Yeah, get in there, Mike. I am going to interview. Okay, so when you go, how far into Mexico do you go to get this? Rosarito. Oh, my gosh. I would be, was your heart beating like a bunny rabbit all the way to Rosarito?
Unfortunately, yes. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. If you had to smoke the table, you would have been fine. Yeah. So you go to Rosarito, and is the place in Rosarito like in some rural place in Rosarito? Is it right on the beach? Where do you go to get said pot? Let's say it was in a shopping district. Okay, in a shopping district. It was a well-traveled district in Rosarito. Okay, so you go there and you put the table in the van. Yes, indeed. Okay, and it's heavy. I got to check my fountain. Yeah, no kidding. This guy's TJ Fountain. Right, I don't know what's in there. Woke it up. So, okay, so talk to me about your nerves on the drive back to the border. Well, obviously, this is, of course, it's getting to me, you know, and I'm just not feeling it. So we ended up stopping over in Tijuana and, you know, having a couple drinks and just hanging out for a couple hours because I just wasn't feeling it the whole way. But, of course, I'm the yes man, so I'm totally wanting to just run straight to the border myself and just hop in a cab and leave him. How old were you? I was 19. Oh, man. How old was this guy? He was...
Oh, man. Okay, and so you have a couple of drinks. Yes. Get back in the van. Do you remember this all like it was yesterday, or is this kind of... No, I mean, this is over a decade ago, but yeah, it's like it's yesterday. So as you are, were you in line waiting to get to the border checkpoint? No, this is the funny part. We were before the line. and there's a little taco stand if you're coming out of Tijuana. There's a taco stand right after the little roundabout when you're coming towards the border. Right. And I said, man, I'm hungry, dude. I need some tacos. So we go to stop for tacos. We hop back in the van, and we're in traffic trying to get back to the border. Unfortunately, that day was like a two-, three-hour wait. So I'm just eating tacos, and I'm wondering, you know, these guys are just, like, staring at me. and we're slowly but surely rolling forward, and I'm just, like, noticing these guys. And once we get to that area that had the yellow lines, they officially call that united, like, that is the go-between for them. So basically the U.S. has jurisdiction where those yellow lines are. They waited until the front wheels rolled into it, and then they instantly pounced on us. Oh, wow. How did they get you? Did they have dogs that had been going through the line?
They had dogs, but the dogs didn't activate on the actual van, and they didn't actually activate on the table. They started questioning us when we were inside the van, and they asked us, you know, where did you buy this table at? And we're like, well, we just... Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. We got to go back. We got to go back. You said that as soon as your tires crossed over the line, they... I mean, literally, in my honest belief, it was a setup, so... Okay. Oh, so you think that this guy that you were with set you up? No, because you went to federal prison with me. I think the guys that sold us the table set us up. Oh, really? Yeah. What would be the point of that? I wish I knew. Yeah, I mean, because Rob was, like, on the same page. That's what it sounds like. As I was saying it. But, Rob, what would be the point of, like, what's the point of getting them arrested or whatever? But not to mention, they would have all of this marijuana that they'd be losing. You know what I mean? If they had something. you know, feds or cops had something on other people, you know, to get charges dropped or. And sometimes they like throw them a couple bones so they can try and get a big shipment through. So they distract them, you know, with a couple little, little peons and then big shipments go through. And at the same time, he's going through. There's a couple people. And everyone's making their quota and everybody's, you know, good. There's a few different reasons, but yeah. Meaning the feds go to the people that are selling it.
And they is that the deal? No. And they say, hey, guys, we want to catch a big fish. I'm so confused, but I want to understand. No, like the drug people, the people that are selling the drugs know that they got like a big shipment going through at the same time. So they have these two gringos that come over and buy like a couple ounces, you know. And so they say, OK, we're going to distract. the authorities with these, you know, gringos. Do you think the table was a few ounces, though? He said it was a few kilos, right? It was 133 kilos. Wow, Rob remembered the exact number, 133 kilos. What is that in pounds? I don't know. I'm American. I don't either, but I think it's a lot. Yeah, 133 kilos. It's a lot. How many pounds? 270. Oh, never mind. That was the big show. Yeah, I guess so. Never mind. For real, 270 pounds is a lot, man. It is a lot. And so that doesn't sound... I mean, dude, hey, listen. I don't know how you think it's a setup because that's a lot of pot. What do they get out of it? Well, they've already gotten paid. Yeah, yeah, and they've already gotten paid. Yeah, so what do they care if this guy gets popped? But, yeah, but why would they...
Unless they were just mean, unless they sold it to them and they were just like, we're going to get them busted for no reason. In which case, oh, what if I just, no, no, no. It didn't pan out. It didn't pan out in my head. What I was thinking was maybe they. You know, maybe somebody was corrupt where they're where they're taking custody of the pot. And then they're just like selling it, giving it back, selling it, giving it back, selling it. But then I'm like, you never know. Well, I mean, the fact that two young white dudes driving a van with a weird looking table was going through customs may have been the tip off. Well, you can't see the table, though, because it's in the van. You just see a weird looking van. Hey, Mikey. Yeah. Neither one of us are white. Oh, really? What are you guys, what's your nationality? I'm Filipino. Filipino dude. What about the guy that you were with? He's Japanese. He's Japanese. Well, you guys are going to stand out no matter what. Two random Asian dudes. A couple of Asian dudes in a van. So, okay, so. Harold and Kumar going through. I don't get it. So, brother. So, Toboy. Okay, so they come up to the van and do, are they at both windows or just the driver's side window?
No, they're both windows. Both windows. Okay. And what are they saying? They're like, hey, so you guys, you had a fun time in Mexico today? We're like, yeah, man, we just, you know, picked up some furniture for the apartment. He's like, really? And he goes, can we take a look at it? And we're like, yeah, go ahead. So, you know, they open up the van door and they're like, do you mind if we search the car? And we're like, yeah, go right ahead. You know, we aren't going to say no to these guys and dogs. Right. So they're searching the car. Nothing happened. Do you see the dogs? Oh, yeah. The dogs are playing around. They're like, ruff, ruff. Do they start freaking out? They're like, ruff, ruff. They didn't freak out? No, they didn't. They didn't activate or anything. And the guy's all like, can I see the receipt for the table? We're like, all right. So we hand him the receipt for the table, and he's like, oh, this place, I know this place. So he takes a screwdriver, and he literally jams it straight through the main plank on the table. That's it. Wow. Why a receipt? No, no, no. Like through the top of the table. Why would you show a receipt? Dude, Eddie's got a great point. I bought it in Mexico. I didn't get a receipt. Sorry. I'm surprised you did get a receipt. For your marijuana table. Yeah. Yeah. You know, we have the receipt for the table. How much did it cost, the table? Yeah. On the receipt? Yeah, yeah. It was an entire set. It was solid oak.
No, no, no. How much did you pay? It was like a little over $1,000 with tax and everything. That seems like a lot of money in Mexico for a table. Yeah, you know. But hey, what are you going to do? So you bought your weed table for $1,000? No, no. We bought it for more than that. That's what I'm wondering. That's what I'm wondering. How much did you pay? Oh, yeah. How much was it? Come on, man. Like 60 Gs? What are we talking there, funny guy? How much? We're talking less than 2,000, but more than 1,000. Wow. And so do they cuff you right then and there? Well, pretty much they grab me by the collar and my partner by the collar. And, you know, keep in mind that I'm drunk. He's not drunk, but I'm drunk, and I'm still a little ripped. They grab me by the collar, and they throw me on the hood of this car with, like, a couple people who are vacationing right next to us. Oh, yeah. Yeah, and I'm screaming bloody murder, you know? I'm like, oh, my God, Rodney King. Right. They throw me on the hood of that car. I'm screaming bloody murder. This family and their kids are freaking out. Like, everybody in line is freaking out. People are screaming. And, yeah, they just, they, like, hogtied me. They hand cuffed me. They ankle cuffed me and picked me up by my, you know, like, hogtied. Where'd they take you? Where'd they take you?
First, they keep you at the border for about 12 hours before they even interview you. They add a three-foot-by-three-foot cell with a toilet, and then they bring you to MCC in downtown. No way. So from that moment on, you were never a free man again? Nope. At that point, no. You were in custody? Not until I was done. How long did you do in prison? The first time was four months, and then I did extra time on that same violation. And the funny thing is it's taken me eight years from that point to finally give back the federal number just because of my own hardheadedness and my own stupidity. What does that mean, give back the federal number? You're assigned a number. It's the same with state prison also. They assign you a number, and basically for all your days you're known by that number. That's your number. That's who you are. You're inmate, whatever, but you're also that number. They also ask you for that number, and you have to give it to them. So you're saying that you kept getting time tacked on because you were being a jerk face in prison? Yes. Well, not just in prison, just every time they'd release me. I mean, it's been four and a half years now that I've been clean and sober, you know, thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But it took me a long time to get to this point where, you know, through marriage and through going back to church, it's made me realize the error in my ways and also helped me to no longer be a yes man.
I realize now that it's okay to say no. It really is. You don't need to say yes. You don't need to give in to the addiction, and you don't need to give in to the peer pressure. But, I mean, it's taken me how many years now total, so. Dude. So what were you doing that was getting you in trouble in prison and out of prison? Still being caught up in my own addiction. Oh, so you were doing, okay, drugs in prison. Drugs in prison, drugs out of prison. Where did you go? That time I went to MCC. The next time I was... What's MCC? What is MCC? Metropolitan Correctional Center downtown. I've been to CCA. That's California Corrections or Central Corrections of America. That one's out in Otay. I've been to Donovan. CRC. Great steakhouse. Bernardino. Different place, Eddie. Totally different place. Sky, you've been there. Totally different place. I remember now, I've been there. Was it real tough in there? You know, it is what you make of it, and it's kind of surprising, Mikey, but I actually, like, I've been out now for over a year, and the final term that I did, I did three years, and I stayed sober through all of it.
Even with all that chaos going on, I stuck to myself. I stuck to myself. I went to church. I had a wife. So I just stuck to myself. And I started listening to you. We had to set up a radio in our shop with the wires attached to the piping in order to hear your show in Norco. But I started listening to you in Norco years back. What a trip. Wow. Oh, yeah, man. You would be surprised the following you have. Unfortunately, nobody can call in to say it. Yeah. What's up, all you guys out in jail? Yeah, man. Hold it down. That's right. Hey, man. Hey, there's nothing better than laughing because, I mean, laughter is the only thing that really keeps you going. You've got to laugh at the situation. You've already made the mistake. You need to move forward with it, you know? Hey, congratulations. Congratulations on getting saved, bro. Hey, thank you for having the show. Thanks, man. That was an interesting... Thanks, dude. Oh, man. That was an interesting... Cool story. My neighbor... I wouldn't use the word cool, but it was interesting. Well, not cool, but yeah. My neighbor... Wicked interesting. My neighbor is on the line, and when we get back, I want to ask her, because she's got a friend that she went to college with, went to... A girl. Yeah. Went to prison. I think it's a girl. Went to prison. Same kind of deal. But she was set up, and my neighbor will explain. We'll be back after this.

You know, even though he wasn't able to do the service on my truck, that he has my service down the road for when my transmission goes out. Because he did that for free, right? Yeah, he did it for free. See, I mean, how can you not respect that? You didn't end up having it. And most people, they would have charged you just to tell you that. And then, you know what I mean? You're bored to wait until about an hour and a half at San Ysidro getting into the U.S. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Mikey Show, hello. Hi. Hi. I was calling about sleep train. Go ahead. What are you saying? What are you calling to say? Dude, sleep train. I went in there with my fiance about three weeks ago. We're not getting married for like five and a half weeks. I mean, sorry, five and a half months. And they're holding it for us for five and a half months before we get married. That's rad. Yeah. So and I haven't heard anybody talk about that. So that's pretty awesome.
Yeah, it was way awesome. And on top of that, we got like, I think it was like a thousand bucks off the deal because we found one on the internet. It was like pretty crazy. That's awesome, dude. Just go into a sleep train center. Anybody should go into a sleep train center if they're looking to buy a new bed. That's fantastic. Thank you for the call. Yeah, no problem. Bye. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. I find that I am actually afraid of many animals. Eddie. I train my brain. Try and move objects. Sky. I am extremely frugal and pretty much only buy things when they're on sale. Sean. I tend to think a lot about creating inventions for law enforcement. Boston Rob. I'm the only guy I know that's able to pull off, getting pulled over in the courthouse parking lot wall parking. And get a ticket. And Ashley. I'm extremely prone to self-inflicting injury. The Mikey Show's on. It's worth every penny. Rock 105.3. How do you know this song? Do you know this song? Yeah. No way. How do you know this song? My dad used to listen to this stuff all the time. Dr. Wayne. Yeah, dude. This is like, oh, this is Deep Journey. Great tune.
It is 9.39. Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin had her Yahoo email account hacked this week. LT mispracticed yesterday with a toe injury, says it feels better than last week, and they will probably give it a go on Monday. Toes hurt, man, when you mess your toe up. Yeah, I've stubbed my toe before. Yeah, hurts, don't it? Smart, don't it? Yep. Try playing the Jets with that situation. Wow. You've never been there. Just listen to Sean Solo. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it. Big white guy Afro when he was doing it? Like Rob. Yep, exactly. Not that big, but yeah. This is great music. This is music to my ears. This is sweet, berry wine. Isn't it right? Ran out of butane. That was awesome. Yes. Awesome, buddy. All right, we got to, I got to hear this story, man. A chick getting set up and going to prison.
My neighbor Kate is on the line. Kate, you there? Kate? Oh, wait. Wrong line. I hit the wrong line. Here we go. Kate, you there? Yep. Great seeing you there. There you go. There you go. So you've got to explain this story. What happened? Okay. So this girl that was two doors down from me in the dorms, she just kind of disappeared one day. And when she came back, we found out that she had been the one that was doing a lot of the drug runs for marijuana for the dorm system at SDSU. And it's my understanding from speaking to my law enforcement friends that when people become a liability, they do try to set them up. And what her situation was is that she went down for a small run and they wanted to cut her loose. And so while she was, you know, paying and doing all that, they actually stacked her car with drugs, like literally just stuffed it all up inside her car. And so the Border Patrol is actually watching. your tires and like how your car sits in the weight so like they actually see you coming like a mile away and so it it is very probable that they pounce you as soon as you cross in because they already know that something's wrong um and so sure enough they took apart her car and just literally just packed everywhere with drugs that's like a common practice that's what they do when you're a liability they need to get rid of you and so they'll call in tips they'll weigh your car down all that kind of stuff
How long did she go to jail? Two years. Oh, my gosh. Wow. She turned out to be pregnant, too, and she had to, like, deliver her baby and everything in jail. No. That's horrible. It's horrible, but that's what they do. Like, they can't take the chance that you are, like, a liability and you go back to their big, you know, much bigger game. And so they just get rid of you. Nuts. That is crazy. Isn't it? Mm-hmm. That doesn't keep you on the straight and narrow. Where was she in jail? She was in jail in San Diego. Well, somewhere in this area. Yeah. She didn't have to stay in San Diego. It was actually the Americans that arrested her. Got it. Interesting story. All right, Kate. Hey, I appreciate it. Yeah, no problem. All right, we'll see you. Man. So the topic, it started as. Right. Topic started as not being able to say no. Those are two examples of people that couldn't say no and ended up paying for it with time in jail. I can't watch that show Lock Up, man. That Corcoran one is so scary. They had this dude on there. He was ginormous, this guy. Tats everywhere, long hair. And they went in and they were searching his jail cell. And he had the smallest amount of homemade booze.
And it looked so gross. Oh, dude. It looks. Sean, you would. No. The fermented apples. Don't say. Was it? It probably was. Because when I was in rehab, the dude that ran the dorm that I was in at rehab had been in jail a bunch of times. He'd been in prison a bunch of times. He pulled his shirt up. He had these plays where he'd been stabbed and stuff. Oh, gosh. And he talked to us about how they would make alcohol in there. What they would do is they would have dudes that would save their fruit. You know, they would take the fruit at the mess hall and stick it in their pocket. And they would just save up a bunch of it. And he said they would make this, you know, they'd ferment the fruit. Yeah, keep it warm. Yeah, he said it was foul. Oh, I'm sure. That sounds so gross. He said it was the most disgusting. And he said that they would, like, pick one dude that would be in charge of it. And they would always have to be switching. You know, so one dude would be in charge of making it this time. And then after he would like, you know, share it with people, then another dude would have to because he said, because they were always turning your rooms over. You couldn't like have one dude doing it all the time. So they would have to switch off with doing the alcohol. And he said it was the most foul, disgusting thing. And he said that, you know, if you drank, he said it would definitely get you drunk. He said, but if you got a little like.
too into it and like they would tell each other like if you're if you're hitting the stuff you can't drink too much of it because it's really strong well you know dudes in there they haven't had a drink in however long they want to go for it and he said it will make you so sick and so the line between like oh i'm yeah this feels great and like i'm gonna be in the hospital here in the hospital prison for a few days And then you get in trouble on top of it if you're sick for that reason. You know what I mean? I heard they make it in the toilet. Yeah, they'll do that. There's an extra flavor. You know where they made it? Where? He said that they would make it in mop buckets. Ew. And I said, wasn't there a bunch of disgusting stuff in the mop bucket? He goes, you rinse it out. I said, yeah, dude, but you can't really rinse what you got. Right. But you rinse it out. P1 Wayne is on the line. Oh, doctor. Is this Dr. Wayne? This is P1 Wayne. Oh, P1 Wayne. Oh, okay, gotcha. Sorry, my bad. Sounds kind of... What's going on, Wayne? Yeah, basically, we used to do reconstitutes in surveillance in Mexico. We'd augment DEA. And what we'd do is we'd watch drug manufacturers.
you know, like that furniture shop in Rosarito. And, you know, we'd alert the border to who's picking up. If we see Americans picking up something, especially like a large quantity like that, we'd alert the border and we'd track them all the way from where they picked it up, wait till they get to that spot at the border and bust them. So maybe, you know, probably it wasn't a setup. It was just an observation. They were watching the whole time. You know, we don't care if basically if... Mexican citizens are manufacturing and whatever, and Mexican citizens are buying it. Americans don't care. I want to know who's bringing it into America. So we'll let them stay in business and crank out their drugs and just observe who's bringing it to this country. Wow. What a trip, man. Don't do it. Don't do it. I wouldn't. Hey, dude, I can tell you from experience, bro. Please. Just because I've been lucky with it doesn't mean people should do it. You don't even know where the border is. Yeah, dude, I used to smuggle drugs from Mexicali. No, you never did. I don't think so. I mean, no, I didn't.
Oh, good one. You almost fooled us. Yeah, dude. But you know what I mean, right? Wink, wink. No, stop it. You're 14. You don't even know what you're talking about. Dude, I'm yoked. What? No, you're not. You're a scrawny. I'm not, dude. I'm looking right at you. Don't you think this is yoked, dude? You're really thin. Just because you hold your breath doesn't make it. You haven't hit puberty yet. That's what you're doing. Look at my stomach. What are you doing? You're skinny. It's good, huh? You have no chest here. It's turning blue. You guys want to know what happened last night? What? I was walking down the street and these four black dudes came up to me, dude. And they were like, give me all your money. And I was all, really? And I took off my tank top. I'm like, yeah, what now, black dudes? You're my lady. You're my lady. And they were all, and they were all, whoa! Even though we're... black dudes. Don't hurt us, man. And I was all, whoa, dude, what's up? You're my lady. And what's up, dude? The biggest black dude? He walked up to me and he was like, no, I'm the biggest black dude. I'm the biggest black dude. I'm the big lady. I don't want to be a lady. And I was all, you know what? Just because you said that, you're my lady. He used that as a toothpick. He doesn't get it.
He doesn't get it. This text says, hey, Mikey, me and my wife said that we couldn't make it one time to the San Diego fair. Well, we ended up going to the fair alone and ended up running into the people that invited us. That's just not smart. Hey, Mikey, you probably don't remember me, but once I invited you to fine dining at a place that I work at, and I totally knew you didn't want to go when you said, sounds good, man. Thanks. Kind of hurt my feelings. Signed, P1 Chaos. Well, dude, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings for real. But sounds good, man. Thanks is not an inappropriate response. An inappropriate. Are you accepting the invite? No, I'm saying it sounds good. Probably did. Probably did sound good. Inappropriate response would be, dude, I'm there. Give me your number. I'm going. And then never call the guy. Never go. Never blah, blah, blah. But it probably did sound good. As long, listen, when you're saying no to somebody and somebody gets their feelings hurt because you are saying no, that means that there was an expectation. The expectation was that you would say yes. You disappointed the expectation. But that phrase, man, I love that phrase. Expectations are resentments under construction. They might as well have a big old sign that says not finished yet, coming soon.
We're building. We'll be here soon. Because if you have an expectation that something's going to happen and it don't happen, you're going to be resentful. Well, just for me personally, if somebody said sounds good, I would take that as like an accepting. And so maybe that's why his feelings were kind of hurt because he thought you had said yes when in your mind you didn't say yes. In which case, that is a miscommunication. And that's why I'd say to the guy, hey, man, I'm really sorry. If I ever saw that guy again and he said, hey, man, you said that it sounded good and you never came in. Right. I can say to him, oh, dude, I'm sorry. I never did. I mean, if it wasn't me going in there because I couldn't or, you know, I just didn't have time. Here's what probably wasn't. It probably wasn't a situation where I was like, I don't want to have any part of this guy. It probably wasn't that. You know, it probably genuinely was. If, you know, I was thinking about this, too, Sky, because I thought it was really interesting when you were saying sometimes all I am so I am so sold into. And so attached to the thought of being afraid to really say how I feel that sometimes I'll even think about it later and go, wait a second. Even that's OK. The truth, because remember at first when you go, well, you know, if what if the truth is that I'm uncomfortable around people and I don't want to go. And I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. I got to avoid it. I got to avoid it. You know, let's say it this way. Let's it.
And then I thought about it. I'm like, wait a second. To say I'm uncomfortable around people, that's okay. That's all right. And I was like totally, that kind of occurred to me during that break that we took. I was like, it suddenly occurred to me like, that's all right. You're allowed to feel that way, that you're uncomfortable around people. But see, I never say, even though that's the truth, I never say that because then I feel that what they're going to say next is. I'll make you feel comfortable. I'll be by your side the whole time. We'll hang out. Now I have a question. And then I don't know what to do then. Check it out. Let's walk through this. Have you ever been in that situation where somebody's talked you into it and then you go and then you feel terrible? Yes. Now you have experience. Yeah. So if somebody says, don't worry, I'll make you feel, you could say, oh man, I think that's nice, but I've been there. I've been there where they're trying to make me feel comfortable. Well, that wasn't me. Like, I swear. No, I'll make it be different. Listen, I know that you have the best intentions and you would try to make it different. It isn't a you thing. It's a me thing. It's me. I'm uncomfortable. It's not you. I'm uncomfortable. We got to take a quick time out. But when we come back, ooh, man, what is the first thing that comes to your mind, Eddie? Cut my ear off. Of course. We got to cut Rob's ear off during the break here. I love it. It's going to be crazy. All right.
Bark all day, little dog, you're gonna bite. Don't go anywhere when we come back. Until I tell you who's on the cover of U.S. Weekly. Is it U.S. Weekly or Us Weekly? Us. Wait till I tell you who's on the cover. We'll be right back. This is the Mikey Show. You've given everyone a great laugh and a great way to start my day, so we thank you. Thank you. No reason. Absolutely no reason. All the chicks of 90210 who are, by the way, being noted as being overly thin. Yeah. I agree with that. Yeah. Like, specifically two of them, like, the first time I watched the brand-new 90210, I blogged the next day about how uncomfortable I was watching it because two of those girls need to eat, like, a sandwich ASAP. Sean, you know the two I'm talking about, right? I know at least one. Yeah, Annie and Silver. Yeah, Silver. Yeah, Silver and Annie. Yeah, she was on Nip Talk as well, and she was, like, you know, she was thin then, and she's like...
Twice as they're now. Yeah. It's disgusting. Consultants for the magazine, like weight nutrition consultants, looked at two pictures. They have weight and nutrition consultants? Yeah. And so these are the two pictures that are on the front of the magazine. They say that one of the girls, the girl who plays silver, looks from the picture that she's about 5'3", 90 pounds. And then the girl who plays Annie looks like she's about 5'8", 100 pounds. Really? These girls are, what, 5 or 6 years old? Yeah, no kidding. Yeah, they're in first grade, though, right? I mean, that's what the show's about? I think they're more like 10 or 11 pounds overweight. Oh, Sean. Dude, it's so uncomfortable to watch. Rock 105 is doing a garage sale. Oh, this is cool. They're going to be out at Viejas, right? Mm-hmm. And it's like a real garage sale. Listeners get to go down there and sell stuff. Yeah. Go to the Rock website, rock1053.com. And if you want to be part of the garage sale, you got to pay for the spot. But then you get to sell your stuff. Your wares. Your wares. That's awesome. It's pretty interesting. I've never heard of something like that. It's a bazaar.
It is very bizarre. How bizarre. So how do people do it? They go to the website, they sign up, and they pay, and then they get to go out there. Or if you want to shop and get some good stuff, go out there and shop. It's happening on Saturday starting at 10 a.m., and yours truly is going to be out there. Really? It was really weird because I wanted to have a garage sale because, you know, with the new house, I want to get rid of a bunch of stuff. And Shauna came to me and said, we're doing a garage sale. Would you want it? to do your garage sale out at Viejas. And I go, yeah, why not? So I'm going to be out there selling my stuff. You want to buy my stuff? Come out. I do. I'm going to buy you stuff. I just give you my stuff. You're going to buy all your old clothes. That's creepy. That's odd. It's really creepy. Saturday, Viejas, 10 a.m. if you want to go out there and hang out. And actually, we have spots to give away if you want to be a part of it and sell some of your stuff. We have some spots to give away. So just... Give us a call and we'll hook you up. That is very cool. Very cool. It's interesting. 570-1053 is the number. Yeah, we'll give away a couple of those. That'd be cool. Eddie wrote on his yesterday email. Uh-huh. He's telling us, you know, just that we have everybody on the show write a yesterday email and tell us what they're doing in their life. And Eddie wrote this yesterday email about seeing Lou Bush. Oh, my God. I don't even know if I can tell this.
You made me laugh. What? Okay. Well, I decided to get rid of my aquarium. I can't do it anymore. Was it like 20 gallons, 24 gallons? 12. Oh, 12. It's tiny. Okay. And that's what makes it really hard to take care of. Yeah. And Lou was telling me how his kid's pet turtle died. And so his kid was really bummed. And I said, well, would you be happy if he got an aquarium? I got fish in there. coral and stuff. And he freaked out. He's like, yeah, dude, it'll be perfect and make my kids so happy. I said, okay, cool. All you got to do is come pick it up then. So he comes to the house yesterday and I said, you know, it sits on a stand. It's a little box almost, you know, of aquarium. And, you know, it's heavy, but it's not. I mean, it's Lou Bush. He's a former NFL linebacker. But it was plugged in. You know, it's got a bunch of cords, you know, for the lights and things like that. And I said, all right, well, how do you want to do this? He goes, well, unplug it and go in front of me with the cords and I'll carry it. With the water. With the water. And I even said to him, I go, we can empty at least a quarter of it out so that it's not sloshing around. He's like, no, no, no, no. It'll be fine. I got a game plan. I said, all right, do whatever you want to do. And so I'm walking in front of him and then all of a sudden I just hear this in the background like a girl. Oh! Oh, no.
And I go, oh, crap, it's too heavy for him. Too heavy? Well, I think he's like, oh, my God, it's so heavy. Dude, he's giant. He's a linebacker. It's 12 gallons of water, and that's heavy. And so I go, oh, crap. And so I start going faster. He starts going, oh, oh. And I turn around. And he is so... He was wearing a gray shirt and it was like black. And we start running to the car. Moral and Hardy. Dude, we get to the car and it's half empty and all on him. I go, dude, why didn't you tell me to stop? And he goes, I couldn't think of what to say. Screaming. Oh, oh. Yeah, stop. Slow down. Oh, oh. And he gets mad at me. He's like, why did you go so fast? Why did you walk so fast? I'm like, dude, I did not. I thought it was heavy. Oh, that's funny. It was hysterical. I laughed for like 20 minutes. It was great. Eddie's email, he said that he...
He said he was laughing so hard he fell on the floor. I did. I did. I could see that. Oh, dude. Like the sight of him so soaking wet. It was just hysterical to me. Oh, dude. That's fantastic. That's so good. Wow. That guy's something else. He's an idiot. No. I love him. He's an idiot. So Lindsay Lohan wanted to help out Obama, and Obama's camp said, no. No, thank you. You know what? No, thank you. Yeah, Lindsay's been blogging a lot lately on her MySpace page, talking a lot of politics, you know, kind of slamming Palin and talking about how rad Obama is. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Lindsay reached out and said she wanted to, you know, help reach out to young voters on behalf of the Obama campaign. And then a top source in the Obama campaign said, quote,
that this actress is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be positive for us. Oh, wow. So they don't have a problem saying no. Yeah, they definitely. They do not. They do not. Imagine if they did have a problem saying no, and then they'd have Lindsay Lohan campaigning for them. She's standing right next to Barack. That's right. Oh, man. Uh, this text message says, Mikey, any tips on meeting the ladies? I'm a decent looking 24 year old deputy sheriff, but I'm shy as heck. P one punch. I'm over. Hey, listen, this, let me tell you, this is a great text message that we got from you. P one punch, because on the 28 hour show, uh, one of the things that we're going to do is, uh, we all have, we're all from my wife's friend, Lori, but we all know Lori. Uh, we are going to be setting her up and, uh, she's a gorgeous girl. Oh, yeah. And, by the way, this is one of those deals where I'm not saying, hey, guys, she's really gorgeous, and I'm, like, playing it up. You guys all know her. Oh, she's definitely hot. Rocking. Lori is a good-looking girl. Immaculate. Okay, gotcha. Spectacular. Thank you. Thank you. Auspicious. I don't know how that word doesn't work. It doesn't really work. Okay, I don't even know what that word is.
But the deal is that she's single. And ready to mingle. And ready to mingle. And it's not easy, according to the ladies, because I'm a part of, like, the, you know, I'm Charlotte. It's not easy. It's not easy. And both her and Kimbra both single. Kimbra. In fact, Kimbra's probably going to be like, what's up? Like, what? How come? What am I, chopped liver? All in due time, Kimbra. Relax. All in due time. Calm yourself. So Lori is first up. Now, there's a catch. And the catch is we're going to do this on the 28-hour show. She's going to get to see a bunch of different guys. We'll have guys that she could potentially go on a date with. The only catch is that everybody here on the show is going to have input. I'll make the final decision. She doesn't have it. any say. She has no say. And she said, hey, listen, I've been doing it on my own. That's not getting me anywhere. Go ahead. And so, you know, we will be doing this on the 28 hour show. And that sounds like a perfect thing for this guy that wrote in says he's shy. That could be a perfect thing. It's pretty interesting because
One of the deals is, is that it is very, some girls want to meet a dude and they want the guy to be sort of in charge and like make, you know, where are we going to go? What are we going to do on this date? What are we going to, you know what I mean? And I'm finding through my sex in the city dinners with these ladies, my wife and Kimber and Lori, I am finding that those kinds of guys are not the easiest to come by. They're really not the easiest to come by. And so that is the deal. Wait a second. I'm getting a message. Eddie is shaking his head right now. Skye, do you know what's going on? I am taking an educated guess by seeing that light blinking. You mean the inside line? Yeah, the hot line. I had a feeling. What? What do you think it is, Skye?
Well, if I were to guess, I would say our sweet friend Lou Bush heard us. You're very close. Chatting about him. You're very close. No. Has to do with the San Diego Chargers. You're in the right arena. Okay. What do you think? What else could it be? What were we just talking about? Just right now. Single. We're going to be setting Lori up on the air. Single woman. Single woman. Hey, we have a friend. She's single. She's really attractive. We're going to try it up. Wow. Did that give it away? But that gave it away. Now Sky knows who you're talking about. Well, no, that is not what gave it away. Somebody feels like maybe they should have been. Oh, no. Hello? Hey, it's Chantel. I'm black and I'm proud. It's Chantel. Yeah. Hey. Hey, guys, listen to this. Anybody want to do it? That could be yours. Hey, all you single fellas, that could be yours. Here's screaming at us. Time to line up. You hear this girl that's screaming on the phone upset? She could be doing the same thing with you. Want to come home to that? Hey, Chantel, we try to set you up almost every time you're in here. We talk about the fact that you're single, but you're so picky. Wait, whoa. And you passed this guy by me? Chantel.
By the way, it needs to be said again. Hey, fellas, come on. This is an eligible lady you're talking to here. Just listen to this. Come on. I mean, Chantel, you've got all these parameters. You say he's got to be 6'4", black, and play for a professional sports franchise. You're so shallow. You're so shallow. You're just way too wide for me, homeboy. Well, listen. I'm not shallow. We've said... Hey, did we ever get an email, by the way? Did we ever get an email from that dude that called in the one time and, you know, he was saying, like, he wouldn't mind meeting her? He won Baby Shaker? Yeah, Baby Shaker. Did he ever send a picture in any of that stuff? Do we know? Not to me. Not to me. Yeah, he's probably intimidated. Oh, she gave him the brush off on the air. That was the problem. Yeah. At the very end, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. She did. Chantel, you gave him the brush off. I thought, you know, what happened was we told Baby Shaker to email us, and then he was like, you know what? If Chantel wants, why doesn't she email me? Hey, wait a second. Did he leave any information, Seth? Yeah, I got it. When was the last time you checked your email, Chantel? Yeah, yesterday. Should have been there. Really? Yeah. I bet he chickened out. I think he chickened out. I bet he chickened out. No, because I have the stuff, and I sent it to her.
Oh, balls in your court. That's the chocolate I'm talking about. Oh, and it never made it, huh? Sounds like somebody's trying to sabotage the relationship. Really? Sounds like somebody doesn't want you to find love. Nice. I wonder what that says. Maybe Chantel will ask Zeth to be her maid of honor. Right at the last minute. Declare. And if anybody standing here today has anything that they want to say about Chantel and Ty Diggs here, may they say something right now or forever. Hold their peace. Is there something? Is somebody saying something out there? I think there's just something weird with the AC system. Yeah, no. All right. Well, I guess you guys can kiss and be married then. Hey, Seth, what did he look like? Was he an attractive man? I don't know. Oh, boy. Oh, you're so straight. Yes, you're so straight. Yeah, I guess. I mean, you can't tell because you're really straight. If another man is attractive, I get it. Maybe he's not saying because he's trying to be nice or something. I don't know. Check your email. Now, we'll set you up, Chantel, but you have to let it be a little bit more. You're too... Lower your standards. No, you don't have to lower your standards, but she's got too many...
You know, too many things. Parameters. Yeah, parameters. Listen, everyone wants a nice guy. Yeah. Yeah, that's right. Who's rich? And black. And built. That's right. Great shape, black, a lot of money. Willing to treat you like a princess. Has a good job. Is in the NFL. Yep. Yes. That's right. You do not. You're right. She's like, I don't care what he is. He can play offense or defense. All right, Chantel. See you tomorrow. Can't wait. I'll tell you this. Nothing makes single women more crazy than when you say that you want to set up another single woman. Because it's kind of like,
hunting, and there's only so much prey out there. And so when you're basically saying, hey, I just want everybody to know, I know there's tons of hungry lionesses out there. Well, we've picked one of these lionesses, and we're going to just gather up all this meat and give it to her. And the other lionesses are like, you're kidding, right? We're starving. We're starving. Food in here. We'll get to it, but you got to have... Apparently, she's got to have that prime grade A beef is the problem, you know what I'm saying? Don't settle. Don't settle. Wow. Whatever works, man. Let's see. P1 Kung Fu, who was just in the studio just a little while ago, text messaging, said, I want Ashley tested for steroids. That girl was unreal. That's probably smart. Yeah, she won the eating.
competition, like slaughtered her. Wiped the mat with her. This one says, hey Mikey, the P1 garage sale, the rock garage sale sounds great. I actually have some of Eddie's stuff to sell too. That's P1 Amy who wrote in and I don't know what that was. Not funny. You know what I'm saying. Mikey, how hot is your wife's friend? Are we talking Sean's mom hot or what are we talking? P1 Coca-Cola. Nothing's in that league. But it's cool. Let's see. Okay, fine. I deserved it. I deserved it. Fine. Wow. I have a headache, but it's about the size of a dime and it's like right here. Have you guys ever had that? Like where you could actually point to where the headache is located. Like it's right here. That's your sinus, bro. Is it? I'm taking my Claritin. Every day I got to take it. How much water have you drank today? Is it about water for real? My brother is in med school. What do you want? And he said water cures sinuses? 70% of headaches are caused by dehydration. I never get headaches because I drink so much water.
Total fake stuff. Yeah, but 45%... hospital so we can't. 45% of people are always over hydrated. That's right. Make sure it's tepid. It's right here. This is where it is. 60% of the time people are misdiagnosed. 75% of all water diagnoses are 100% correct. I know. Only 75%. I never get headaches. Who are you going to listen to, Mike? That's right. 75% of the time, it works every time. Enjoy your headache, Mike. Have fun. No, I'm going to get some water. I'll fix it up. Dude, you're allergic to Rob. That's all that is. That's what it is. Dude, I got to take a Claritin every day and two puffs of Nasonex in each nostril. And I still get it. They told me that I need to have surgery, but I don't want to. What are they going to do?
They're going to, like, make a hole where my sinuses don't drain? You got to do it. I don't want to. I'll do it for $20. No. $15. I'll do it for $15. $10. $10. $5. No, no. I won't be undersold. I'll do it for free. That's quite a deal, Mike. I'm just going to start right now. Open wide. I got a straw. Gross. Gross. I think there's a little orange soda still left in that. Use lubricant. I got to numb them up. Numb, numb, numb, numb, numb, numb, numb, numb, numb, numb. You're gay. Two things. It's true. Two things. One is they caught the guy, the pickpocket at the grocery store. They did. Oh, nice. They caught him. Are we going to get the reward? We're like McGruff the crime dog. We are? We're the crime dog? We talked about it. Yeah, we definitely did talk about it.
Yeah, and what happened is I guess this guy, you know, we talked about this yesterday, how he's stolen like 39 wallets in the last year around the county. Grocery stores targets women in the freezer section when they're not paying attention to their purse. Well, I guess this week the guy stole a wallet from a gal who was shopping at the Vons on Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon. And, you know, she saw him take it. And so witnesses ran out and got like a partial license plate and a description of the car. No way. Cops were able to track him down and arrested him near his home. Do they have like any, I want to know everything about him. I want to know who he is. Well, he's 42 years old. They refer to him as a parolee. Let's see. He was arrested near his home, which is in the Nestor area. Nestor? Yeah. What is Nestor? Yeah, what is that? Seth always knows all the little names for all the areas. Seth, do you know where Nestor is? I have a headache right here. It's right here. Another thing you can do is take your pressure points in your eyebrows, and it's going to hurt, but you have to press really hard on your pressure. So where's Nestor, Seth? Do you know where to pressure the point? Yeah, she doesn't. She just shook her head. She's going to pull the bad wind out. What is she going to do, though? Are you going to pinch me?
What are you going to do? I'm going to do it to myself. Oh, this is bad. Okay, so first I'm going to find the headache in your eyebrows. Enjoy both your eyeballs while you still got them. It's going to be worse. She's pushing on his eyebrows right now. No, you're getting farther away. You're going to go blind, bro. Right there, right there, right there. What you want to do, hold your head really still because I'm going to push really hard. We are all getting done because of this. Do our thumbs smell like ranch? Ew. She's pressing really hard on the middle point of his eyebrow. She has the strongest hands. She does. And you want to press really hard, release as much as you can, and it will minimize. How did it feel when she pressed? It felt kind of better for a second, and then it kind of is coming back. Well, do I have to just keep pressing on my face all day? I do it really hard. I'll go like this and go really hard. Like all day long? No, just do it a couple times. What are you, a shaman? Don't squeeze the shaman. How long am I supposed to squeeze? Why would you listen to this one? Just fart. Relax your head.
For like, what, 10 seconds? Yeah, and relax your face, relax your head, and relax. It hurts. She's an awful vegetarian. It should help. It's a little better. It's a little better. Relieve a little bit of the pain. Yeah, it did, because now it hurts where I was pressing right on my face. That's good. 570-1053, that's our number. Beginning and end of every show. Oh, I want one. What kind? You want the peanut butter or the chocolate chip? Yeah, peanut butter. Dude, you're going to get the flu. I'm not going to eat the whole thing. I won't eat the whole thing. Be careful. 570-1053. Yeah, the guy arrested Nestor area near his home. And did he say where Nestor is? It's in the South Bay between, like, San Ysidro and Imperial Beach. Okay. And he's 40-some years old? 42 years old. They give his name? Prolly. Let's see. Oh, my God. Silence. Silence. Silence. You can do it. His name is Todd Gay. No, it's not. What is it really? It's Todd Gay. Sky, you can't just make judgmental comments about the guy. What's he look like? Oh, look at that. Todd Gay got arrested. Todd Gay? Todd Gay is his name. Wow. That's a great name. I mean, if it wasn't bad enough that he got arrested, it turns out it's Todd Gay. Gay. Gay. No wonder he knew the ins and outs of women's purses. Oh, wow.
Wow. Hello. Hello. Let's see. The most dangerous celebrities to search that are most likely to get you a virus, spam, and more. So meaning Googling. Or any kind of search engine. Paris Hilton. No, Paris Hilton was number one last year, didn't make the top ten this year. Lindsay Lohan. Britney Spears. Britney Spears was fourth last year and also didn't make the top ten this year. Brangelina. Oh, well. Rhea Perlman. Brangelina is a... Yes. Rhea Perlman. Well, no. Rhea Perlman. Brad Pitt. Very dangerous. He's so bad. Yeah. Brad Pitt is the most dangerous celebrity to search on the internet. They say doing that, you have an 18% chance of getting virus spam, spyware, when you put Brad Pitt's name into a search engine. Not if you have a Mac. No? Mm-mm. I don't get any of that stuff now. No viruses, no spam, no junk.
I'm just telling you. Have you tried searching Brad Garrett? I have not. You should. Very dangerous. You should. The guy that played the King of Rohan in... Two Towers. Yep. And the captain of the Titanic. That's right. Crazy. He's awesome. That guy. That guy. Let's see. P1 Sanjaya is on the line. Oh, hello. What's up, guys? What's going on? Hey, dude, just two things real quick, man. I just wanted to say one thing about P1Side.com. If you guys go to Ashley's section and check out all the IMs that she's been sending out to people. Wait, what? Yeah, go to P1Side.com, go to Ashley's section. Yeah. And there's a topic that says, Ashley, just IM me. And she's been sending out all these IMs and all these. Is it all Terry Schiavo jokes? There's a whole bunch of different ones. That's funny. Yeah. Real IMs? I'm guessing not real IMs, right? No. I mean, like, I found the bottle on the beach. It said, like, Christopher Reeves. Inside there was a note in there that said Christopher Reeves. It's that kind of stuff. It's like Terry Schiavo type jokes. Yeah. Got it. Got it. Yeah. And one more thing, dude. The area code in North County. Yeah. Is it 426? They're not going to do it now. They're not going to. Well, they're going to overlap them.
So North County will eventually, if all goes as planned, have two area codes. So 760 and then I believe it's 442. So they are going to do it. Well, because before they were just going to get rid of 760. But now they're going to have two area codes. So how do you know if yours is changing? Well, no, it won't change. They'll just add another one. So if you live in North County and then need a phone number, it could potentially. Okay, so from this point on kind of deal? Well, they're not going to make the ruling until I believe it's mid-October, but the judge's recommendation that came down this week was to have overlapping area codes. So we will have two area codes in North County. All new numbers issued would get the new area code. Existing numbers could keep their 760. I'm going for 426 because if you spell 426 on the telephone, Yeah, it does. It actually does. My number is ham274-Dido. Again, that's ham274-Dido. Thank you for calling, Sanjaya. P1 Gunslinger, what's up?
Hey, good morning. I just wanted to add another name to Zeth's long list of names. Being in the political season, I think he should be the incumbent Sir Zethian Oates. The incumbent Sir Zethian Oates. We will take it into consideration. That means no. Yep. P1 Amanda. Amanda, are you there? Yes, I am. Go ahead. Hey, I just wanted to give a shout out to all you guys and just say hi and that I got my boyfriend into listening to you guys. That rules. You're worth it. Yeah, he really loves the show. We listen to it every morning when we go to work. What's his name? His name is Daniel. Do you love him? Do you love him as much as you love the show and as much as I love my business? Thanks for the show. You're very welcome. P1 Drizzle is on the line. Hey, how's it going, guys? What's up? I've been listening to your show for about four years. Love it. Gotta give a shout-out to P1 Quimby. Bye-bye. Very cool. I was wondering if we could add a new condition into being a P1. Uh, what is it? Uh, other than turn the radio down, don't cuss, get straight to the point, turn other people to P1s, and listen to the show exclusively, and to recognize Skye is beating and loves fingers. Skye just gave you a, uh... Hold her finger. That's right. Very inappropriate. Well, it was the fashion, did that make it better? It's true. If you do it like your hand is sort of popping up, you know? She calls that the fashion flip. Uh...
The lovely and talented Missy is coming up next. Today she's got The Lost and Found. It's going to be awesome. Songs you haven't heard for a while, so it's pretty cool. Make sure you're listening to Missy. And we'll be back here to do this again tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show is out late. Love your mouth.
