It is 6-0-6. Travis Barker and DJ AM were both critically injured and the only survivors of a plane crash that killed four people in South Carolina on Friday. USA. The U.S. recaptures the Ryder Cup in a dominant effort over the Europeans. Ryder Cup captain Paul Azinger says he was able to pick the best team. We got the best players here. As a result, I was able to make four picks. It turned out to be the best possible picks I could have ever imagined. And to get to do that three weeks later was important. That's pretty cool. Yeah. They picked major butt. That's cool. Hero butt. I'll latch on to it. I will take some pride and joy in it. Why not? Go get a croissant, sucker. Yeah. Yeah, do that. Welcome back. The weekend off. Ready to do this sucker up. Seven people on the Mikey Show. Myself, Eddie Sky, Sean, Ashley, Boston Rob, and Zef. Seven of us. A lot of good football on yesterday. Crazy, crazy day in football. Eddie was telling me before the show that it's all done for the Raider coach. Mr. Kiffin will say...
Well, you know, I think Al Davis was probably waiting for something to happen. Couldn't really fire him last week. Coming off a win. Excuse me. And this week they blew a 17-point fourth quarter lead to Buffalo to lose. So it's kind of a good timing for Al to say, get out of here, you. Yeah. That's a big lead to blow. 17 points. We got so much stuff on the show today. Oh my goodness, do we have a lot of stuff. We really do. The Travis Barker story, of course, is ginormous. Skye, start from the beginning and tell us what happened. Okay, so Friday, Travis Barker, you know, formerly of Blink-182. The drummer, right? Yeah, the drummer. DJ AM, as well as Gavin DeGraw, Jane's Addiction. They were all performing at a gig in South Carolina. Now, I got to ask a question because I'm not sure on this. DJ AM, that's a, like, spinning them?
Yeah, Spinning DJ was engaged to Nicole Richie for quite a while, right before she met up with her new baby's daddy. So he's, you know, quite a fixture in the Hollywood celebrity scene. So, yeah, so they all did a concert Friday in South Carolina. And then Travis Barker and DJ AM, plus, you know, their crew of people, wanted to get out of there right away. So they had like a private Learjet for them. Friday night right before midnight they are taking off and I guess the tower is seeing sparks come out from underneath the plane and so try and get them to abort takeoff but it was too late and so the jet kind of veered off and went through like a fence and embankment and caught on fire. And four people, there were a total of six people on the plane. Four people died. The only two survivors were Travis Barker and DJ AM. Some of the people who died were Travis Barker's assistant, his bodyguard, as well as the pilot. And the co-pilot of the plane is actually a guy from Carlsbad.
who passed away. So the latest on DJ AM and Travis Barker is their doctor said yesterday he expects them to make a full recovery, but they did suffer second and third degree burns and are both in critical but stable condition. Do they say where they're burned, how much of their body? Yeah. Travis is burned on the lower half of his body, and DJ AM is burned on his face. Yeah, his face and head, and they say Barker has burns on his torso. So but, you know, witnesses see them like jumping out of the wreckage with their clothes on fire, like ripping off their clothes and trying to, you know, put out the flames. It's terrible. Yeah. Crazy story. Unreal. What a sad story. Well, I hope they I hope they recover completely. And the doctor says they will. I was praying about him when I heard about it on Saturday. And very sad story, especially around here. You know, because Blink is from Poway. And I don't know if Travis was a guy brought in later to drum. Was he the original drummer for them? Does anybody know? I'm not sure. Pretty sure he was. Yeah? Yeah. Because I remember a while ago when I was still doing Nights, I had all those guys in the studio. And they were really funny. They're all really funny, cool. I mean, but funny.
Like really had wacky senses of humor. And so that's a sad story. And we'll update you and let you know how that's going. But we got other stuff that is not sad. So we move on to that. 570-1053 is our phone number. You can call us. Our text number is 35253. And I am Mikey, the host of the show. I'm 38 years old. I'm the tomato farmer here on the program. And enjoy the tomatoes. And the garden. And so I did a lot of that this weekend. Eddie was at the Rock 105.3 garage sale. How did it go? It went really good. It was a crazy experience. It was out of Viejas. And so I don't know what I was thinking. I was thinking it was going to be like in the parking lot somewhere. That's what I figured. But it wasn't. It was actually where the outlets are. on this like kind of grassy area yeah and so my thinking was oh we'll just drive you know back up our cars and and unload all this stuff and then park um but no you weren't allowed to drive your cars in there and so you know when i loaded all the car my me and my wife's cars up i didn't really box everything i just was loading everything up and i figured it'd be really easy
So when I got there, Jay, our promotions guy, was like, no, you got to dolly everything. Oh, wow. And I'm like, dude, I don't have probably 70% of this stuff boxed. It's just randomly thrown in this car. And so it probably took a thousand trips back and forth. And was there a bunch of people that were kind of in the same situation? Everybody had to dolly everything, but most people were smart and boxed everything. And luckily the promotions crew really helped me out and were helping me with trips and stuff. How did you do? I sold almost everything. Good. Everything I had. I mean, it was great. I mean, I sold everything so cheap. Like, people were going, like, really? Dude, come on. I feel bad taking it. But I just wanted to get rid of it. Yeah. And so, yeah, we were only left with, like, a small box of clothes and, like, a couple of odds and ends things. And we just brought it over to the Goodwill drop-off and donated and got rid of everything. What a neat idea. That was great. It really is cool. Yeah. The next time, I think they should do a little closer.
You know, because VIA house is a hall if you, you know. Yeah, come on, North County. If you're not just, yeah. So that was my only suggestion. Yeah. But yeah, there was a lot of people out there. It was cool. Awesome. I'm going to suggest that we do the next one at our program director, Shauna's house. Yeah. I love that idea. Perfect. We just invite people down, you know. That's perfect. And we just do it up, you know. Yeah. A-P-1 Vinny. Yeah. Travis Barker was or was not the original drummer. He was not. He was not? No, he's actually from, I think, like Riverside or somewhere up there. Okay, then I probably never met him because I remember when I had those dudes in, they weren't that far along in their careers, and it was the original guys. Like, they had met in preschool or in a crib or something. Yeah, I'm in the womb still. That's right. All right, dude, thanks. Yeah, no problem. Skye is our news girl, and she's 30 years of age. Hi. And she had a good weekend, too, out in the sun doing a lot of yard work. That's right. Today's a good day, Mike. Never-ending yard work. Oh, please. It's never going to work. I mean, ugh. I'm a Mexican. I enjoy it. You know, it's in my blood. I'll make Skye an honorary Mexican for her due diligence. Yeah, and what's today, Mike? Today is her official almost birthday.
Today begins the one month countdown on my birthday. I had to look at the date. I go, I don't know what today is. I looked at the date and went, sky's out of her mind. It's the 22nd. So begins. Countdown begins. There's a month countdown? Like, I know there's some sort of thing when it's October. A half birthday? Well, no, there's a half birthday. And then in October, it's the birthday month. But now we have a countdown to the birthday? Now we have a countdown. Check P1 site, bro. You'll see the counter there. That cannot be true. That cannot be true. Oh, they have a counter. Well, last time I was there, they had a counter. Yeah, they do. They do. Well, they're nuts. That's sad. They're nuts. Month away, everybody. Batting down the hatches. Sky's turning 31 in a month. No, really. Batting them down. I'm serious. Like right now. Go out to your hatches. That's right. And batting them. Yes. Take the hatch and batting it. Extra tight, I would say. It's a good day, Mike. That's right. Sean is our sound effects dude. Sound effects. Sound effects. That's right.
Let me tell you something. This Sean is something else. He is something else, this guy. He enjoys... He is 38 years old, but in many ways, he is like 75. And he likes to be kind of like grumpy grandpa. Grumpy grandpa. Well, if you read... Sean's yesterday email, which I will read it to you out loud here. Yes. It says that he went to the movies yesterday. A great movie. What did you go see? I went to see Lakeview Terrace. I knew it. And it was fantastic. Okay, all right. Sam Jackson tore the force. Sam Jackson. Sam Jackson. Yeah, duh. In case you haven't heard of this movie, this is that...
awful looking film. That's not the case. That Sam Jackson has accepted for money where he plays a cop who is taking the law into his own hands. Is that safe to say? Yeah. And terrorizing His new neighbors. Looks so good. Oh, wait. I saw that movie. It was called Unlawful Entry. Yeah, the first time, Eddie. Eddie, the first time it was called Unlawful Entry. Yeah, it was great. Remember? Yeah, Ray Liotta. Oh, wow. There have been a couple of movies with similar plots. It's true. So, what have they? But this is probably the best execution of that plot. Oh, good. I gotcha. I would encourage everyone to go see it. I want to see it. Well, a little bit later on in the show. I'll explain to you how Sean had a couple of girls thrown out of the theater. So that is in just a little while. Oh, I don't doubt it for a second. That is a true story from Grandpa Grumps. Then there's Ashley, and she is our assistant producer. And those bangs are perfect this morning. They're pristine. She worked on them, you know, for about 10 minutes in there.
It's a work of art. Yeah. Thank you. It's a work of art. It's not easy. It's not. Sure. You know, if you were to take a microscope and a small ruler, you would find that they are all separated exactly perfectly. Exactly. Perfectly. It's easy. Yes. It's easy. So proud. Yes, to the millimeter. It's an accomplishment. It is. I mean, let's be honest. It is. Ashley spent the weekend up in the Bay Area. More on that later. Oh. Hello. We'll tell you about that. We'll also tell you about the book that her boyfriend was reading on the way up called The Case Against Barack Obama. Oh, my God. That was the best. Oh, yeah. He carried it with him the entire trip. That's great. It was genius. It was something special. Boston Rob is our resident New Englander. Mm-hmm. He has on a Boston Red Sox t-shirt right now that says Fenway Pack. Yeah. The monster. That's right. The green monster. And he is a big, big, big Red Sox fan. He's probably happy to know that they at least tie for a wild card. They're in. Yeah. That's cool. You're good. You're good. What are we freaking out about? It means the Angels, though, doesn't it? I don't. What?
Wouldn't it? Yeah, but that's not... There is a possibility. Uh-oh. You don't think you're going to... I don't know. There's time for the wild card. Hold on. I just don't want to talk about it. Everything's breaking loose. The hatches are coming up. We're fine. We're fine. You're supposed to batten them. It's cool. I explained this to my fiance last night. There is a, like, .001% chance that the world could become... unwound, and we could possibly not make it, but you can tell them. I can't talk about it. They're not tied with anybody. That means that they get at least a tie of the wild card spot. No matter what. And so all they got to do is win a game, or the Yankees lose a game, and they are in. And they still got, what, like eight or nine games left? Seven. And we play the Yankees this weekend. It's not a big deal. They'll have it for sure by tonight. Yeah. That makes it exciting. It's a done deal. It makes it exciting. Congratulations. They're in. Congratulations, Rob. Yeah, Rob. Let's see. Now, there is an element here where I feel like we're looking into the basket.
And we're going, let's see, how many eggs do we have here? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. There is an element of counting some eggs here. But, Mike, they haven't hatched. I know. Why are we counting them right now? I'm not sure, but I'm counting them. There's still eggs. I'm counting them. Seven, eight, nine. Oh, no, you shouldn't. I should stop counting these. You should wait until they hatch. I should stop counting these eggs. They have not hatched. Uh-uh. Uh-uh. I don't want to make anything bad. Uh-uh. But all they need is one more win. Our Yankee loss. I can talk more tomorrow, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm freaking out. Who do you play today? We're playing Cleveland. There you go. Nothing's guaranteed, Mike. What time does the game start? Four o'clock. Is it national or do you have to have that MLB package? You probably got to have the package. Last night, the Yankee game was on nationally televised because they're tearing that place down. Oh, yeah, that's right. That's awesome. What will be your process for 4 o'clock? Will you... Yeah, I want to know. What's the process? You can't talk about it because that's superstitious? Well, I can talk about it, but... Who will be there with you? Because I know it's a big deal who gets to watch the games and who doesn't because, you know, some people will bring you bad luck. How you watch the game, what you wear. What time should I show up? Yeah. You are not allowed. What?
I'm shooting for you. That is rude. Who's allowed to watch, Rob? It will probably just be me and my fiance. So she has been. And I have to usually coach her on how to. How to do it. Well, just around me. Because with the Patriots, you know, if she wants me to do something particular or just, you know, be quiet, I'll do it for her. Because she's very. Is that what she asks of you sometimes? Please. Be quiet. Sometimes. But it's mostly me. I'm the one that's, you know, very superstitious. And, hey, you know, we shouldn't talk yet. Last night she was asking me about it. And I had to explain to her, you know, well, there's seven games left. And, you know, the Yankees are seven games back. Right. There's all this, like, you know, mathematics involved. Once I explained it to her. See, you know what? A lot of people might call me crazy, but I've seen weirder things happen. I've seen weirder. If you are a Red Sox fan, I would probably be. I've seen weirder. Last night. Rob was in an office, a big oak and mahogany desk in front of him. Late at night, little table lamp turned on. The rest of the room dark except for this one little space on the office desk. And Rob had those little glasses that just go to the end of his nose. And he had a calculator.
And it was one of those scientific calculators. And he was doing some calculations on the math involved of what could and could not happen with this thing. We got seven games left. I like to take this ride with Rob at the end of September and the beginning of October. But we have to say congratulations to the Tampa Bay Rays for... For getting their first playoff spot, they're in, for sure. How about that? That's unbelievable, really. How about that? They're crazy. They're an unbelievable team, and let's hope it doesn't last, you know? That's all we can hope for, really. Hope that they fade out. All right. And then there is www.serrooseveltzethionotes, the third junior, Esquire, MD, DDS, Inc. President and CEO.com. Patent pending. It's gotten to the point where Microsoft upstairs is giving me name suggestions. Yeah. That's Russell. He's a big sales dude upstairs. Everybody's throwing it at you, right? Suggestions on what to add to your name. You guys see the new Microsoft commercial? Yes. It's a trip because what they did was...
They found a lookalike for the PC character on the Mac commercials. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. The nerdy looking dude. Yeah. Looks just like him. I mean, and it goes by quick. It starts the commercial. So it goes by so quick. You're like, that's him. And he sounds just like him. Like, so you don't even know. And the actor goes, I'm PC and I'm not alone. And then they like proceed to do all these real cool people that announced that they're PC. Right. That's the idea, you know, to turn that image from we're nerds to know we're everybody and we're cool and we're global. And, you know, it's that kind of deal. And I couldn't tell if it was extra long, the commercial or if it was. It felt like it was. Felt kind of long, didn't it? But I mean, what great marketing strategy. Yeah. It's a good idea. I thought it was genius. It's brilliant. that PC guy that starts it. I mean, dude. And I, at first I said, I was, I said it to my wife. I go, how do you get that? It had to be illegal to have that actor be it. And then I rewind it. I'm like, no, that's a lookalike. It's cool. But they did it perfectly. 5701053. What is that a gopher that they're showing on?
Oh, no. I think they're showing gopher problems. What was it? I think it was. Mike. Sky, don't attack him. Sky, for real. Was that the boo? Don't kill one. I'm not kidding. I think right now on 739, I looked up and they were showing that there's gopher problems. Let's see if that's what it is. Oh, it's kind of big to be a gopher. Maybe it's someone else. Is it a seal? It looks like a gopher. It's a seal? I don't know. Our CNBC business report. This could be a manatee. Minx. Look at that. Minks on the run. The furry animals take over one neighborhood, which sparked one group to set them loose. There's minks loose in San Diego County. Hey, minks. Let's start a coat company. The boo got so upset. I think this was Friday night. So, you know, we've had gopher issues. And unfortunately have had to... Dispose. Exterminate. Exterminate is a perfect word, actually. Murder. Straight up murder. Kill. So we had to get rid of two gophers, unfortunately. And since then, they've stopped coming. Yeah. Well, Friday night...
the hubby because we have like an open space behind our house and then also on one side of our house there's like access so you can get to the open space he saw one of our neighbors from down the street with a cage walk to the open space right behind our fence and let it go for no oh yeah so i guess one of our neighbors has been catching theirs and not killing them but letting them go right behind our house oh that's cool Did he say anything? Uh-uh. But he came to me and he was like, should I say something? Like, what should I do? No wonder we have to go first. I was like, all right. Next time you see him, maybe go out there and politely say, hey, can you let that sucker go down there? Shawnee would not wait until the next time he saw him. It does, though. First, I videotape him and turn it over to the HOA. Yes, you would. For sure. Definitely. Yeah, that was not cool. It's another one of those deals. We got a Hubble telescope that can leave the universe, but we don't have an effective way to just get rid of gophers, make them move out of town. Yeah, we do. Yeah, well, we do have some ways. Over the weekend... Oh, I forgot. I can play stuff now from my little computer.
That was weird. That was kind of creepy, yeah. Okay, don't do that. You're weirding everyone out, bro. Don't do that, please. Don't do that, please. Let's see. Over the weekend, on Saturday Night Live, Daryl Hammond was doing his John McCain. That was creepy. Was it? Because it was so good? Oh, so good. Yeah. Oh, wait a minute. Let's see here. Let's play this. Oh. I'm still figuring out my system. I'm still figuring out how to do this. Here we go. I'm ready to go, yes, but let me stress the goal of these ads are not only to support my campaign, but also to raise the level of the integrity in the political discourse, my friends. That was my promise to America. Wow, that's so great to hear. Let's do it. Barack Obama says he wants universal health care. Is that so?
Healthcare for the entire universe, including Osama bin Laden, I think will pass. No way, no how, no Baba. My friends, can I ask a question? Of course. Is this ad true? Well, universal has more than one meaning. We take it to mean the entire universe. Works for me. I'm John McCain. I approve this message. That's pretty good, huh? Doesn't that sound good? He sounds just like him. 570-1053 is our phone number. A P1 is somebody that calls in, turns their radio down, and gets to the point. And it's also somebody that turns new people on to the Mikey Show. And you tell your friends about it. You listen for long periods of time. That is what makes you a P1. And it's an exclusive club. But there is no membership. As long as you do what I just told you about, you're a P1. And the cool thing is, is we're going to be doing this big giant thing for you called the 28-Hour Show. Oh, gosh. It's going to happen on October the 8th, which is, guys, a little over two weeks from today. A little over. A little over. Two weeks. That's right. Where we go on the air, we'll be coming on the air like this at 6 o'clock in the morning.
And we will not be getting off the air for 28 hours with no commercials and no music, nothing but us. And so that is coming up on October the 8th, and it is well worth listening to. It's really, really cool. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. Sean Merriman, number 56 of the San Diego Chargers, will be on the show this morning. Give us a preview of tonight. We got the YouTube clip of the day. Got audio of Alec Baldwin on 2020. Wow, is all I can say.
Wow. And, of course, we got updates on Travis Barker, DJ AM, that fatal plane crash that happened with them. And they are both alive. We'll give you an update on their condition. Mitch Hedberg in the stand-up spotlight. In Kilkenny, Ireland, they don't have anything American over there. It's very cool. But they did have a Subway sandwich shop. That was the one thing that had American. And that became the American embassy to me. I'd go out to a bar, piss off an Irish dude, and have him chase me to the Subway. I said, dude, I'm sorry, but you're out of your jurisdiction. But you can't have a cold cut combo, though. Now, this is my second part of my Subway two-part joke. I was in downtown Boise, Idaho, and I saw a duck. And I knew the duck was lost, because ducks ain't supposed to be downtown. There's nothing for them there. So I went to a Subway sandwich shop. I said, let me have a bun. But she wouldn't sell me just a bun. She said I had to have something on it. She told me it's against regulations for Subway to sell just a bun. I guess the two halves ain't supposed to touch.
So I said, all right, we'll put some lettuce on, which I did. They said, that'll be $1.75. I said, it's for a duck. They said, all right, well, then it's free. See, I did not know that. Ducks eat for free at Subway. And I know that I ordered a much larger sandwich. Let me have the steak fajita sub. But don't bother ringing it up. It's for a duck. There are six ducks out there. And they all want sun chips. Now that the stars have walked the red carpet at the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards, it's time for the real fun to begin tonight on E! Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We're looking pretty good on our freeways for the most part here. We do have a backup developing on the South 15 right now, though, from the 78 down the Via Rancho Parkway. And some reduced speeds into Rancho Bernardo. We've got those new express lanes that are open now along the 15 from Rancho Bernardo Road down to the 56. Two extra lanes there for carpoolers and stuff. And hopefully that will ease some of the congestion there. South 5 looking great down the shoreline. No worries there. The East County is moving right along. 805 northbound, though. We'll find some brake lines developing as you come up toward that 54 South Bay Freeway at Chula Vista. A brief slowdown again up towards Home Avenue, and then you're good to go. Looks like South 163 is looking to find into downtown through the park right now. I'm McLaurin on Rock 105-3. An AT&T phone survivor story. Lisa went back to school shopping with her mom. Big mistake. Lisa, look at these. Notebooks with pictures of puppies. Lame. Puppies. Luckily, Lisa got to the AT&T phone sale and found deals on phones that take pictures, play music, and run on the network with the best coverage. My green AT&T phone is the coolest thing. Yeah, it goes great with that puppy notebook. Yeah, so funny. Thanks to the AT&T phone sale, Lisa's freshman year wasn't a nightmare. She loves puppies. But it wasn't perfect either. What will an AT&T phone help you survive?
Come in now and get a Samsung Blackjack 2 for $79.99 after mail-in rebate debit card. The new AT&T. Your world delivered. Some restrictions apply. Two-year service agreement required. Price before $100 mail-in rebate debit card is $179.99. Best coverage claim based on global coverage. See store for details. Now back to Mikey. I love football so much. Eddie. I have a very strong sensitivity to smells. Sky. I smoke so much pot. In high school, those years, I blew my brain out. What do you want from me? Sean. Pet Shop Boys are one of my favorite groups. Boston Rock. I wish I was smarter so I could fight this better. And Ashley. I am a very, very twitchy person, and I feel like it's because I have ADD. The Mikey Show is on Rock 105.3. Welcome back. It's The Mikey Show. It is 6.40. The Bush administration is pushing for Congress to approve a $700 billion Wall Street bailout plan. Hey, Padres, get a sweep when they need it the least. They swept the Nationals during their first road sweep in two years. They won yesterday 6-2. Yeah, I guess they don't need it too much. Well, they were tied with the Nationals for the worst record in baseball, meaning they could have had the number one draft pick. Right. And now they don't. Ay-yi-yi. Ay-yi-yi. Hey.
We're getting some text messages about the big garage sale on Saturday. Rock 105.3 had a big garage sale out at Viejas. Eddie was out there selling his wares along with a bunch of listeners, right? And it says, hey, Mikey, just wanted to thank Eddie for the dumbbells I got on Saturday. Now I can have Chetty's muscles and it only cost me a buck. That's P1 Rhonda. Wow, a buck. That's a deal. Told you. Mikey, my friend got a toaster from Eddie for 10 cents. That's pretty cool. I wasn't joking, man. I wanted everything to go. That's great. Nice. What did it look like? Like, what was the setup? Did they, like, put tape on the ground to separate one person's, like, stuff from another? Well, they all had those pop-up tents. Yeah. You know, so that kind of separated everybody's booths. But they had, like, an outline of your spot. And so I think they recommended you to bring your own tent or I don't know if we provided them or I don't know how that works. So there was a tent over every single booth. Yeah. That's awesome. So you had a tent over you and your own little space. You set it up however you want and you just sell your stuff. That's it. Dude. Yeah. And there were like businesses out there too, you know, that like, you know, like homemade candle people and potpourri. Awesome.
The Hard Rock in La Jolla, I guess, is closing. And so they brought out a bunch of their stuff. Then they sold a bunch of their stuff. Oh, that's cool. Not like a lot of the memorabilia stuff, but like kitchen stuff, you know. Nice. You know, big pots and stuff like that. It was really cool. That's pretty awesome. How would you like to hear this? Now it's time for the YouTube clip of the day. Now, this is from Dallas, Texas. where Eddie and I used to live. We used to broadcast out of Dallas, Texas. That's right, dude. Real good. It was great. Big D. Yeah, that's right. It was really great. Beautiful women, okay? Best. Most classy women on the planet, okay? So while we were there, I believe this may have happened while we lived there, but this was a moment on television where a reporter had a little freak-out session. Oh, no. Because you guys have seen this like on television where they have, you know, the anchors on in the morning or whatever. And sometimes they'll do the thing where they will bring out animals and they'll show animals, right? Always goes really well. It always goes great. And apparently dude was not a snake guy. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Oh, gosh. Let's see how long it is. Let's hold it up. This guy is probably close to five feet.
Texas rat snakes are going to be one of the largest snakes that you find in the Metroplex area. Get this thing off me, man. Get this thing off me, man. What is this thing jumping at me for? I think my favorite part is the... Because I don't know that I've ever actually heard anybody, when they get scared, go... Texas rat snakes are going to be one of the largest snakes that you find in the Metroplex area. Nice. He really doesn't like snakes. I guess not. No. He just doesn't like them. Hey, Eddie, when he was getting ready for the big garage sale he was going through, he found all his old comics. Oh. I haven't looked at these probably since I was 13, 14 years old. Really? And I pulled them out. I have some really good ones. Really? I had no idea. What do you have? I just have, I have like X-Men 100. I have...
What would they be up to now? What do you think they'd be up to? I don't know. I really need to look it up because I have this one that I have actually several really, really old ones that I think my dad gave me. I don't know how I got them. I think my dad gave them to me. Then it's a really old Superman action comic. It's like action comic number 10, which I got to believe is worth a lot of money. So I got to look them up. That's pretty awesome. But it was really cool. I really wanted to bust them open and read them, but I'm like, nah, I can't do it. My mom would throw things out. And so I don't have any of that stuff. I didn't know what was what anyway. So I don't think it would. And that was the only person that was going to get it would be me. And so I don't have any of that stuff. Like, I don't even know where all my old records are. I used to have stuff on vinyl. And I'm sure that that has long since been given away. uh, for just taking up space, you know, when you're, and people can, I'm sure some people can relate to this when your stuff is either thrown out or it changes places, you know, like where it's supposed to be. It drives you nuts. Yeah.
Yeah, I was, you know, I really reorganized a lot of stuff when I moved. Yeah. And so now I know exactly where all my stuff is. It's all reboxed. You know, like my Millennium Falcon is safe. Oh, good. I was concerned. I was very concerned. Yeah, now that's a big item. It's the Millennium Falcon from like the 80s. Right. The big toy. Yeah. And I still have it. So is it in a box like the original? No, I wish. Just a box. Yeah. All the stuff that I've received in my adult life, I don't open. Right. And I keep it. You know, in its packaging. Yeah. And box it up. And I don't know what I eventually have. I'll sell it or I don't know what I'm going to do with it. That's awesome. Yeah. And that's what was one of the things out at the garage sale. Everybody came out and would ask me, where's all the Star Wars stuff? And I'm like, I'm just selling that. No way. No way. 60 Minutes did a special with all the candidates. They were talking with the candidates. McCain and Obama. And Obama talked about the race issue.
After the toughest primary in history against one of the best fields in history, I emerged as the nominee. Going up against a very formidable Republican machine and having been subject to constant attack and millions of dollars spent trying to scare people over the last two months, I'm still tied or in the lead with John McCain. That tells me that the American people are good. That they are judging me on my ideas and my vision and my values and not my skin color. Now, are there going to be some people who don't vote for me because I'm black? Of course. There are probably some African-Americans who are voting for me because I'm black. Or maybe others who are just inspired by the idea of breaking new ground. And so I think all that's a wash. That's interesting to hear him. acknowledge that he knows that that will be taking place. He knows that there's going to be some people that are voting for him because he's black. And some who won't because he's black. I'm just finding this out, by the way. Barack Obama is black. He is black. It's shocking. Who knew? Eddie, can you give me your take on the game tonight? Because I don't know what to make of it. I don't either. I don't know.
You know, I really believe from the words I'm getting from Charger camp right now is that the team is very focused. They're very upset about what happened last week. I think they're going to play with a little chip on their shoulder. And, you know, for me, I think it's really important for them to come out and start fast. That defense has to play better. And, you know, hopefully we'll pull out a victory. Yeah, and it's in prime time. Yeah. Only Monday Night Football tonight. Seriously, though, mute that television and listen to the radio station because that Monday Night Football crew is the worst in the history of television. Yeah. Oh, it's brutal. It is, man. It's awful. Mike Tirico is one of the most smarmy, like, just jerky kind of personalities ever. Yeah. And he doesn't get it. Like, they have Tony Kornheiser on that show. Right. And whether you like him or not, he's got to be able to do his shtick. Right. And Tirico doesn't want him to. Like, he wants to stop the shtick. Right. And it's like, well, what's the point of having him on? Yeah, what's the point of the shtick if you're not going to get the shtick out? It doesn't make any sense. Right. And so it's like a battle in the booth. And the only good person on that show is Jaws. Yeah. You know, Ron Jaworski. And he, you know, he doesn't make up for the other two idiots. Right. So.
Yeah, and not to mention, the broadcast at Rock 105 is phenomenal. It's not much. It's phenomenal. Josh Lewin is good. He's the best. I mean, you talk about exciting. Oh, yeah. And we're going to be talking to Merriman here in a couple of minutes. We have Sean Merriman on the show every Monday morning to break down what happened on Sunday. And so today he'll be breaking down what will be happening tonight. So we'll do that. There's a weird story out of the Bay Area. where a guy has been arrested on suspicion of stealing dead animals and putting them into lockers at a Bay Area high school. How weird is that? Just stop it, Sean. What are you doing? Just stop it. Sky, what is that? Okay.
So this is going on up in Dublin, California. Oh, Dublin? Ah, yeah, Dublin. Yes, right. Well, no. It's in Ireland. No, not Dublin, Ireland. Dublin, California. Got it. And I guess police arrested this 20-year-old guy who allegedly stole a bunch of dead animals from a vet morgue and thought it would be... Did he work there? It doesn't say. No, I don't think so. No, he wouldn't need to because if they die, they throw him out. So he would just go into the trash probably. Yeah, I don't know exactly where. Don't they incinerate them? I don't know. You would think, right? I would hope so. They don't just throw them out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They don't just throw them out. Mike. Yeah, Mike. What's your problem, dude? I don't know how it goes down, but he stole them allegedly from this, you know, veterinarian hospital, and he thought it would be a hilarious practical joke to take a bunch of dead cats and some big old dead dogs and stuff them in lockers at this high school.
Keep in mind, he doesn't even go to high school. He's a 20-year-old guy. Yeah. And he thought it would be a hilarious practical joke to put them in the lockers at Dublin High School before class started in late August. Right. And finally got linked back to him, and he was arrested at his home on Friday afternoon. What's the charge? I may be out on a limb here. I may be out on a limb. But to me, the funniest practical jokes are the harmless ones, you know, meaning that there's not dead animals involved. Right. You're not traumatizing people. It doesn't, you know, like, it's not like you don't know where, oh, look, it's a dead animal. How did that happen? How was it even possible that they smelled? You know what I mean? Oh, it's so brutal. There were some gophers in there. I bet you there was. You know it's just process of elimination. If you are a fan of, you know, it's going to be Halloween, too. We just read that Hershey's is trying to save money. The candy company, they're trying to save money. So they're changing chocolate in some of their candy, and Skye knows which ones. She has a list of the ones that they're changing. What? 5701053 is our phone number, our text number 35253. Sean Merriman next. Golden Joe continues. How about if we do a little bit of this? Lights. What's up, man? How you doing, man? Where are you? Are you back in San Diego or are you still in Florida? Yeah, I'm still in Florida. Rehabbing. Wow. Are you still in the hospital or at least out of the hospital? Oh, yeah, yeah. I've been out of the hospital for about a little bit over a week now. So you got friends out there? You have friends in Florida? Yeah, I have a few friends out here. I have my guy out here who works for me also. He's a friend of mine. Nice. So how is your pain level? How are you feeling? Yeah, I feel pretty good, man. It was unusual because the first painful days were two days after the original surgery. After that, it was pretty good.
So, what kind of rehab does he have you doing? Like, what do you have to do on this thing, and what are you even able to do right now? Well, I'm just, you know, full-spritting, cutting back and forth, you know, doing the things that you do a week out of surgery. So, go ahead, Eddie. I don't think he's doing that. Now, tell me this. Did you get to watch a lot of football yesterday? Oh, of course, man. I mean, I had a tone. I was watching every game. So what games stood out to you yesterday? What games? I watched a lot of the Cleveland Ravens games. Why? Yeah, what was the Cleveland Ravens? Is it because you grew up in Maryland, and are you like a Raven fan? No, not really. I got a bunch of friends, and Ray Lewis, but a real close friend of mine is one to watch him play. I always enjoy watching him play as a kid, so I got a chance to watch him play again yesterday.
What other games? What other games I watched? Did you watch that Patriot game? I watched the Patriot-Dolphins game. Did that make you a little happy inside? No, I wouldn't say it made me happy. I had an easier feeling after watching that game. It did make me feel a little better about my knee again. Oh, man. So how do you see tonight's game, break down tonight's game for us, Sean? Let's make you into an analyst and have you break down tonight's game. I think that we, as far as speaking on the defensive side of the ball, I think we need to get out the breath a little bit, you know, and not give up the run. First and foremost, I think we don't give up the run and make them pass, we'll be in pretty good shape. I think that with teams coming to this game, looking to try to do against us now, run the ball, and hopefully that free up the passing game. That's cool. All right. And what about, how do you see... The offense tonight, I mean, that's a defensive side of the ball. Offensively, do you see any issues with LT and the toe and all that? No, I don't think so. I think that they probably would have made it a little bit more serious if the toe injury was serious for them or anybody else who's coming back off an injury. I think we're in pretty good shape right now. We got some guys in our locker room who's ready for the game tonight. Yeah, Sean, I mean, I'm kind of surprised. I guess I really shouldn't be.
It really is apparent to me how much this team is missing Stephen Cooper. I mean, Cooper's a big fact, man. You got a thumper who can play in the inside, and sometimes you miss that. And you got guys there who can play. No doubt about it, not pushing the other guys to the side. But when you got a guy like Cooper there who's a thumper, he becomes a presence inside, and it helps us out all the way around the ball. That's cool. Did you see your bro, Michael Turner, yesterday doing it again? Well, he had another 100-yard game, man. I don't know. I think we're playing somewhere towards the end of the season. I wish I was there to play him. I told him I wanted to get a chance to play him if he ever left San Diego. Eddie. Yeah, Sean, speaking of running backs, Darren Sproles has been so exciting to watch these past couple games. What is it about him that makes him so tough to deal with? You know what? When I first met Darren, we had the same agent coming out of college, and we lived and we worked out together a lot in California before the draft. And when I seen him, I'm looking at him like, man, who is this guy? I mean, I knew who he was, but he got in that weight room and then got in the field and showed me some things that I would never expect out of a guy like his size. And then just outside of him being strong and fast, all those things, he probably had one of the...
biggest heart that I've ever been around playing the sport of football. You know, a guy go out and lead on the line. He works like nobody I've ever met. You know, I mean, I'm just glad to be a teammate of his, man, because this guy works. Is it tougher to tackle a guy like that when they're real small? Is it tough? I don't have to be one-on-one with him on the outside. I'm good. I don't plan on being one-on-one and having to tackle him, and I don't expect anybody else to. But, yeah, he's tough to tackle. Yeah, he's only 5'6", I think. I think it's 5'6". So he towers... He towers over B-Rob, our stunt kid. He towers over him. That's right. Well, tonight is going to be an exciting game, and I'm sure you're going to... Where are you going to watch tonight? I'll watch it here from Florida. Nice. And Sky? Well, this isn't, you know, pertaining to football or anything, but, you know, when you're in a hospital, lots of times your friends send you little gifts, little gift baskets, teddy bears, what have you. Right. You get any cool stuff from any of your coworkers? Yeah, I didn't get any teddy bears, fortunately. Some of the players sent me some teddy bears and some candy. Yeah, yeah. And those fruit bouquets. Yes. Those are nice. What's the coolest thing you got? What's the coolest thing you got, Sean, and from who?
Some of my friends have been sending games. I sit around because I can't go anywhere. I can't do anything outside of my rehab, so I'll just sit around and play games. Sean, did you get that new Star Wars The Force Unleashed? It's awesome. No, I didn't get the Star Wars. You got to get it. You got to get it, Sean. It's so good. All right, Eddie. Sean Merriman will be very happy to know that we're coming up on eggnog season as well. Oh, yeah. That's good. Now we're talking. Time for some pizza. That's right. We all know the guy likes himself some eggnog and pizza. Yep. Mikey's show listener heard that on the air and dropped it off his front doorstep. Some eggnog and pizza. That's funny. That did. That really happened. Yeah, that's weird. That's hysterical. All right, Sean, take care, get better, and we will be talking to you again next time, and hopefully it will be after a win. That's right. That's right, it will be. Yeah, that's right. All right, Sean, we'll talk to you next time. All right, thanks. All right, man. We hope you're not scared of the dark. From your San Diego Chargers, it's time for Lights Out. Sean Merriman, 053. You guys sound like a whining little kid. This is The Mikey Show.

Better mileage tips presented by Chevron. How fast are you going right now? Really? That fast? So what's your hurry? Did you know that if you slowed down just a little, you'd get better mileage? It's true. If you drove 55 miles per hour on the highway instead of 65 miles per hour, you could go about 30 to 60 more miles on a tank of gas. It's like the story of the tortoise and the hare. You know, slow and steady wins the race. And that also applies to city driving. When you're stopped at a traffic light and it turns green, avoid the jackrabbit start. Don't punch the gas. It's not a race. Just accelerate smoothly and gradually. And let's face it, you'll catch up to those other cars at the next light anyway. So remember, a heavy foot equals a light gas tank. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com. Cricket. A smarter way to do wireless. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. That's a tough ride on the South 15 here this morning. There was an earlier accident in South 15 here just before Felicita here. It really got you all backed up. Caught up with the commute coming out of Escondido. That's backed up from before El Norte Parkway. And that slowdown actually continues over Lake Hodges all the way in past Rancho Bernardo. You've got the express lanes open here. Two new lanes there between the 56, Rancho Bernardo and the 56, rather.
It's kind of easing up traffic for carpoolers and vanpoolers, but not doing a heck of a lot for single riders there. And if you want to use that, you still have to be part of that fast track program there. But right now, it's pretty jammed up on that 15 south. Out of the east county, the westbound 52, a minor delay at the top of the summit there. The westbound 8 is starting to see a few brake lights and some reduced speeds coming into right around the college area. Westbound 94, that's a good-looking freeway, just a minor delay in the downtown. And coming up into the south bay, some heavier traffic now on both the 5 and the 805 northbound. Up past the 54 South Bay Freeway up through National City. 805's got a brief delay now over 52 out of Kearney Mesa. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. From the Cricket Wireless Studios. He's so tan. He really is. He looks so good. It's called brown sugar. San Diego's Rock. Mikey. Old Man Baker's here. Hey, Old Man Baker. Do you believe that this man can definitively come on the air and say that he has grown? The hottest peppers in the world. Absolutely. Way. Old Man Baker. And why not Old Man Baker? Well, if you want to grow really hot chili peppers. Go ahead. Go ahead. Oh, gosh. Go ahead. Nice. Oh, wow. You got to keep them under your armpits for five years. Five years? Go against the flavor. Obvious question. How do you keep them there? How do you? Keep your arm down.
Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It is 7-15. The Samuel L. Jackson thriller, Lakeview Terrace, was the number one movie this weekend, making $15.6 million. Looks like Joey Porter was right. The Dolphins upset the Patriots and snapped their 21-regular season game winning streak. Ronnie Brown added five. touchdowns in the win. Joey Porter says he's happy with their gameplay. I'm not really worried about what they do. I'm worried about what we do. I'm happy we came out here and didn't give up no big plays. We played solid the whole 60 minutes. And at the end, we came out with a win. It's what we needed because no on three would have been tough to sit on that week and didn't have to come back. But to get this win and only against New England, to go into a bye week, exactly what we need. I'll tell you, Eddie, it can't help but remind me of...
When Ricky Waters scored five touchdowns in a playoff game with the San Francisco 49ers one time. Wow. It was really awesome. Random. It was really awesome. But, you know, Ricky Waters, of course, probably cheated out of the Hall of Fame. Probably should be there. Hold on a second. You're just saying that because he was your favorite player. Still is. Still is. Of all time. Of all time. Of all time. Ricky Waters. Ricky Waters. Wow. Enjoyed watching him play football in one time. I believe against the New York Giants. But, you know, who's counting? I think he's good. I know he scored five touchdowns in the playoff game. That is impressive. It was impressive. He was an impressive football player. He just doesn't have the stats. Really should be in Canton. Really should be in Canton. Doesn't have the stats. But what are you going to do? You can't. Sometimes there's just things that are out of control. Some things that are out of control that we can't do anything about. Speaking of stats. Inoperable inutile exercise in the substantiation of mental acumen. The Mikey Show presents a somewhat elastic moiety called The Dumb Chick Challenge. I'm not going to lie to you. The questions are easy today. I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not going to lie. Easier than normal? Well, that's the point. You know, these things are not difficult for the most part. They are really difficult. Fourth graders know this. That is 100% true. 100% true. Very difficult. Wow.
False. Here's how it works. The player must get to five points. They have questions that are worth one, two, and three-point value, so they could get there in as easy as two questions, a three and a two. Now, Skye has a system. Ew. She goes two-point question, two-point question, one-point question, and it is effective. She seems to deviate from that every week. Not every week. Just sometimes I'm pressured in situations. Very rarely, I would say, is she actually pressured into. I'm always pressured. But Skye goes 2.2.1 point. That's true. We'll see how it works. Now, the dumb chicks are Skye, Ashley, Rob. Rob?
That's right. He's a guy. Skye, Ashley, and Rob are the dumb chicks on the Dumb Chick Challenge. Isn't Rob a guy? Kind of. But not really. Oh, okay. Kind of like partial vegetarian. That's right. Kind of like that. Exactly like that. Semi-vegetarian. Okay. Semi-female. Yeah, which means... Partial dude. 570-1053. Give us a call and pick which one of those three you believe will win the Dumb Chick Challenge. We will begin with P1 Babe. Hi, babe. Hi, babe. Hi, guys. How are you? Hi, babe. I'm good. Who are you going to select? I have to go with O. Yeah, O is a good choice. Babe, my name is Scott. O is a good choice. Hang in line. Next up, P1 Chelsea. Chelsea, who do you want? I'll take Rob. There you go. Great. Hang in line. Awesome. And P1 Scruff McGruff, are you there? I'm here. That's perfect. You've got Ashley. You. Inspiring. She could make her comeback. That hurts. She's won before. She could make her comeback today. I've won four times. That's right. Ever? Total. Total. Yeah. But we played this for like two years. Listen. What? She, she, you know what she does? She picks her battles. Oh, okay. Well, that's good. And so, yeah, so she's like, listen.
I'll give up some of these so that I can win some of these. That's the whole concept behind Pick Your Battles, you know? I'll give some up. I'll win some. She wins the important ones. That's right. Put perfectly, Eddie. Now, who starts this week? Sky will be beginning. There you go, Skye. Skye's got a big smile on her face. She's ready to go to take a three-point question and come out of the gate firing with both barrels. No, Mike, I would like a two, please. Well, I see. That is usually the way she goes. Skye, your two-point question is, name one of the two official languages of Iraq. One of the two official languages of Iraq. Skye's got a... Oh, hi. Terrorist. Is that a language? Is that a language? I don't know. Yes. Sandy. Okay, I'm going to say this. Uh-oh. No, she's nervous. She's nervous. She's nervous. Durka, Durka. Is it Tawali? Yes. Just say it.
Camel toe. That's not the language? That's not the language. Okay, I'm going to say Farsi. I guess not. That is not correct, Sky. Where is that? Farsi's Iran. I love that answer. That's right, Farsi's Iran. Same thing. They're all the same. Yeah, they're all crazy. Yes. They're all going to do something weird, right? They're all the same color. No, Sky, it's Arabic and Kurdish. Arabic and Kurdish. That's right. Who's Kurt? I've heard of him. Ashley, a one. She's looking at her base coach. Eddie is giving her a big thumbs up. A big thumbs up. I like it. Ashley is thinking. Now she's confused. Like, what? That or that? Okay. And he's giving her the hand signal. What do we got? Give me a one. She wants a one pointer. Yes. There you go. She wants a one pointer. That's smart. Ash, your one point question is. She has a pen to the bridge of her nose. Oh, good. Ash, a member of the banana family.
I love bananas. There you go. We're off to a good start. A member of the banana family, what short and starchy fruit commonly appears in Caribbean cooking? Plantain. That is correct. That's right. Ash is on the board first. She's the best. She looks so happy. Oh, she's giving victory arms. Victory arms. We win, right? That's a wrap. She only needs four more points. Oh, that's it? And she wins. Boston Rob. I'd like a three-pointer. You're so confident. You know what? You're so confident. Mm-mm-mm. Mm-hmm. Rob, in 1995, the U.S. space shuttle Atlantis successfully docked with the Russian space station. What was it called? He's got his eyes closed. He's gritting his teeth.
Roy Orbison. Oh, that's a singer. That's not a singer. Why would he even say? What is he thinking? That's what's coming to me. I'm just trying to open up. He's just thinking it through. He's on R. Is it Sputnik? Or... Wait. Wait. You gave a guess. Roy Orbison. Is that the Death Star, Mike? Death Star. Sputnik. Sputnik is incorrect. What is it? It was the Russian Space Station Myrrh. Oh. The Russian. Was it Myrrh? The Myrrh Space Station. Oh. Either way. Of course. Myrrh. The Myrrh Space Station. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Myrrh. Meow. Meow. Skye, what are you going to do here? I would like a two-pointer. You want to go with a two-pointer. But you missed the last one. I know I did. I did. I really missed that last one. Your two-point question is... What internet search company began offering stock on August 19, 2004 at $85 a share?
Okay, wait. I need to write down some facts. All right. Here we go. 1994. No, 2004. Oh, 2004. 2004. Internet search engine and 84-some bucks a share. $85 a share. Pay attention. You would be a terrible cop. You would be a terrible cop. $7,000 a share, wasn't it? Gosh. Okay, my gut is saying it's Google, but I don't want to be too hasty here. What internet search company began offering stock on August 19, 2004? Google. That is correct, Scott. She did it. She nailed it. Thank you, Ashley. That's right. Ashley, you're up. Oh, look at her. She's winking at her first base coach, Eddie. Why are they winking? Well, because I think they know. They're communicating silently. They know exactly what direction to go. On the same page today. We usually aren't. That's right. Today, they're on the same page. Give me a two, please. A two-pointer. A two-pointer. I see your strategy. Eddie is shaking his head. Oh, you see what's up? Yeah, I gotcha. Ash, the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Was what wealthy Boston businessman? He couldn't contain himself. He couldn't contain himself. That's a great question. Kevin McHale. Ashley, it was not Kevin McHale. I don't know who that is. She has the pen back to the bridge of the nose. Well, she's sorting through all of the Boston businessmen that she knows. Well, she's sorting through all the Boston businessmen that she knows from sex. Ash, 1776, Declaration of Independence. Jim Cook? Jim Cook will not count. You're taking all my answers. I need Boston businessmen.
Boston Rob from Survivor? Think of what, Eddie? I can't say. Why can't you say? I might be helping you. I will just go with Teddy Roosevelt. Oh, man. I have to count that as incorrect. Teddy Roosevelt didn't sign the Declaration of Independence. No, he did not. Something told me he was Bostonian. Am I wrong on that? You might be wrong. Oh, wow. Ash, it was John Hancock. It's a guy that they say, you know, give me your John Hancock. You mind giving me your John Hancock on this? That sounds really familiar. Yeah, yeah. That's right. Yeah, he was the first guy to sign it there. He was the first guy, period, to sign it. That's right. He was the first person to sign it. That hurt me off. That hurt me off because I thought you were saying which Boston businessman. of the Boston businessmen was the first to sign it. Oh, I gotcha. That's why I didn't get it. Well, he was also the first Boston businessman to sign it. That's right. That is true. Of all the Boston businessmen. That's actually, ironically, that's, yeah. That is true. It was worded, strangely. Faulty wording. In English. Most people got it.
Boston Rob. Oh, man. You can do it, Rob. Yeah. Not a Boston business. He is not. Yes, I am. I'm always in business. I don't know about that. He has a lot of ideas. Not a Boston policeman. No. He is not that easy. He's met many of them. He's met many of them. Boston's finest. They're very nice. That's right. I'd like a three-pointer. How times? I was really close last time. He really does. Really close. Your three-point question is, what is the medical specialty dealing with disorders of the nervous system? Oh. The medical specialty dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Psychiatry. That is incorrect, Ryan. If you get wicked nervous, you got to go to the psychiatrist. Nerviology.
Is it neurology? Neurosios. Dodo. Where would I go if I was nervous? What did Ashley just say? Is it neurology? Neurosio is incorrect, but you're very close, Ash. Neurology. Neurology is correct. That's what I thought she said. Oh, I thought she said neuro... No. Whatever. That's what I said. That's what Riz said. This is junk. I've known Sky's and Rob's answers. You're killing it. Why didn't we go for a three? You're killing it. Sky, what are you going to do? Well, Micah, I'd like a two, please. Oh, man. She goes to those two pointers. Yeah, formula. She goes to those two pointers. I got my formula. All right, Skye. What city is known as Music City, USA? Oh, that look is like, what do you want from me? How dare you, sir? What a ridiculously, stupidly worded question. I spit on your question. Yes. Thank you. I do. I do. Music City, USA.
That's a star in County Mesa. City known... What city is known as Music City, USA? Well, I know... Nashville has something, but it's like country music. So is that what that question is referring to? And then we got a lot of jazz, you know, coming from certain places. She's walking through it. She's walking through it. She's walking through it. Where was Jazzercise born? Shut up. Isn't that someplace known as Home of the Jazz Hands? That's a fun place to visit. Bonds of Steel originated in Butte, Montana. Jazzercise Wisconsin? Okay, I'm not coming up with anything else, so I'm going with Nashville. That is correct, Sky. Wow. Well done. Sky need only answer a one-point question to win the game. Wow.
Eddie and Ashley are already communicating. Ashley is up next. She's communicated. I think she feels confident. Give me a tweet. Wow. Wow. What's this? She's going to go for it. She's going to go for it. A three-point question, Ash. In regards to television, what does the acronym DLP stand for? In regards to television. Passed. You can't pass. What does DLP stand for? Oh, no. That's a sound. Work it out. Go one letter at a time. Eddie, she's blinking a lot. You can do this. But when she blinks a lot. Come on. That means. That means. One letter at a time. Go. D. Digital. L. L. Light. Lazy.
And then P. Which one? Yeah, she gave me a lot of choices. She's working it out. She's working it out. P. Program. Digital something program. Digital laser program. No. No. You got the first word right. The first word is digital. It's digital light processing. Digital light processing. It's the mirrors. It's the mirrors. It's the mirrors. It's the mirrors. Boston Rob. Oh, he's back. Oh, the wrist is here? What do we think, Skye? Well, the threes have been working really well for you. They have. So, Mike, give me another three because I'm...
Third time's a chance. Let's do this. Wow. Let's get it done. You and me, Mike, focus. All right, let's do it. We're going to communicate here through the mind. Yeah. Rob, what chemical is shown on the periodic table as A-S? Oh, aspartame. Oh, no. A-sodium. A lot of salt? A lot of salt. None of these were correct, Rob. Hold on. Gold. It's one of those funny ones. It's not one of those, quote, funny ones. You know, where they give you letters that aren't even in the word. The periodic table always makes me laugh. It's hysterical. It's actually... Arsenic. Oh. Arsenic. On the periodic table is A-S. Close. Deadly poison. Sky. Yeah, Mike. Strategy. Here it is. It's time for the hard one. This is your one-point question. These are the difficult ones. You're fine. Sky, President George W. Bush was owner of what?
Professional sports team. Oh. Oh, no. She just, oh. How do you not know? She's got that look. It's a one-pointer. She's like, what? Like, I'm supposed to know that? What's a professional sports team? She's just doing a bit. No, I don't know. You know. I didn't know he ever owned a team. He did. The only thing I can guess is obviously, you know, the team from where he. Lays his head to rest. The Washington stupids? Yeah, right? So I'm going to say... The Tennessee Notsmots. I'm going to say the Texas Rangers. That is correct, Scott! Scott, you did not know. Yeah, he was the owner of the Texas Rangers. What happened there? He gave it up to be president. That's right. He couldn't do both? He couldn't do both. He's such a good multitasker. P1 babe. My name is not O. He used to eat a lot of natural food. Until he learned most people die of natural causes. At Robbins Brothers, we're all about finding you that one perfect ring. So.

And that's a slow crawl to the 15 connector. Westbound 52 is also seeing some heavy traffic coming out of Santee now up the hill over the Mission Trail Summit. It's been a rough one from the get-go in that south 15 this morning. There was an earlier accident near Felicita that caught up with the commute. Brian Westbrook and Ben Roethlisberger were both injured in the Eagles' win over the Steelers yesterday. Oh, my. So the Emmys were last night. Oh, my. Anybody watch? Yeah, I watched a little bit of it. What did you guys think? Weird. Yeah. Very weird format this year. What was it? They decided to have the five reality TV show hosts who were nominated for best host host the Emmys. Really? So it was Howie Mandel from Deal or No Deal. Right. Seacrest. Mm-hmm.
Jeff Probst, What's Her Face from Project Runway. Heidi Klum. Yeah, Heidi Klum. Tom Bergeron from Dancing with the Stars. Did that work? No. In my opinion. Their opening monologue was horrendous. I will only be able to listen to a second of this. Yeah. But we will hear just a second of what their, how many, like five people. Yeah. Dude. Not a funny one in the bunch. No. Even Howie Mendel. Let's see. Here we go. Make this night special. We have met many times. Wanted to do something special for this night. When did you get a chance like this? We've gone to Ryan's house many times, which I must say, television has been very good to Seacrest. He has a nice place. Radio, actually. We have met at Jerry's Deli's in Sherman Oaks. Yes, we did. A couple of times. We tried. We did. And we wanted to come up with something special. And as of this moment right now, no lie, at two minutes into the show on Emmy night, we have absolutely nothing for you. And it's not a joke. This is not a bit. This is reality. And who best to offer that to you? No, no, we know. We know that it isn't a bit. We know. You don't have to. We have nothing. As a matter of fact, if you just turn around in your seats, you can see in the prompter there is absolutely nothing there.
We don't have no thing. We have nothing. We are like on Sarah Palin's bridge to nowhere. That's where we are, right? That's where we are. I'm serious. This is not a joke. I'm serious. The government can't even bail us out of this. This is like five reality hosts. We don't even have a contestant. We have nothing. Oh, no. Yeah. And then later in people's acceptance speeches, they were capping on. You know, how that went on forever and how it was pointless. I mean, it was brutal, man. Well, Eddie said one of the things that happened that he actually thought was pretty funny was Josh Groban went out there and sang like a medley. Yeah. Or was he out there? Oh, yeah. He goes out there. Dude, I thought this was going to be horrendous. Yeah. Because you know how Josh Groban sings. It's very dramatic. And it's like, you know. And they had him sing TV theme songs from like the past. It had actually turned out pretty hysterical because he was in on the joke. Yeah. So it was pretty funny. Let's take a listen. This is him singing every part. Really? It's very Josh Groben-y, which is pretty hysterical. Would you be mine? Could you be mine? Won't you be my neighbor? Come on, take down your fish and pull me at the fish. Wow. That's pretty funny. Oh, that's Josh Groben? Yeah.
No, no way. Dude, that's crazy. That's awesome. That's awesome, dude. He actually rapped. He did the theme to Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He did everything. It was awesome, man. Josh Groban rapping. Has got to be pretty good. It was pretty cool. And I was just like Eddie because they were promoing it. Like, oh, coming up, Josh Groban. And I'm like, oh, great. But yeah. That was good. That was really funny. Yeah. So Sky Set 30 Rock was a big winner. Mm-hmm. Won four Emmys, comedy series, writing in a comedy series. The lead actor, actress for Baldwin and Tina Fey. So yeah, they were the big winners. Big stars too.
Tom Hanks won an award for outstanding miniseries. Paul Giamatti won for outstanding lead actor in a miniseries. Big stars, man. Yeah, and I'm over this whole Eva Longoria Parker. Am I pregnant? Am I not pregnant? If she turns out to be pregnant. It's so infuriating because I don't know if you keep up with this stuff. But it's been this thing for a while. Oh, everybody's saying she's pregnant. And then she keeps saying, no, I'm just fat. I've been putting on weight for Desperate Housewives. I'm just fat. Which, first of all, I think is offensive to use the word of fat when she's... For fat, for her, it's like 115 pounds. Exactly. So, first of all, whatever. Well, so last night at the Emmys, you know, they do this whole desperate housewives thing where all the chicks are up there. And she's in one of those typical I'm trying to hide my pregnancy dresses where it's like tied up top with a big old bow right under the boobs. And then it like flares out from there. And then when they're on the stage, the other desperate housewives are kind of like campily trying to like kind of block her and use their big dresses to stand in front of her. Are you fat?
Stop it already. I'm annoyed. That is gnarly. Yeah, it's ridiculous. What do you think? Do you think she's pregnant? After seeing that dress last night, definitely. No doubt about it. Let's see. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. And speaking of TV, there's a word has it that Miley Smiley? Smiley Miley. Smilus Myrus? Smilin' Miley. Smilin' Miley. And her dad, Ribby Bay. Now, Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus are allegedly trying to get fired from Hannah Montana. Because they want out. And they don't want him out. Yeah, pretty much, you know, all the gossip websites and entertainment sources are reporting that people on the set are really unhappy because Miley and Billy Ray have pretty much made it known to all the other people on the set of Hannah Montana.
that they don't want to be there anymore, that the big money for them is in the CDs and touring and not in doing this Disney show, and they both want out. And so according to people on the set, they're showing up late, they're stalling production, they're being disrespectful to other people because... they want out because they want to focus where the big money's at. How long is the contract? Like, when are they legally done? Well, it says here that Billy Ray, let me see, Billy Ray has told people on the set that he and Miley will do 12 more episodes and then they're out. Really? So... I have a question. Go ahead. If they're off the show, if they're out of the show, there's no more Hannah Montana, right? So... I mean, is she a big enough name to not have Hannah Montana to go out and tour and make a lot of money? I think so. Yeah, I think she's gotten to the point where, listen, it's like this. But if she's not in front of everyone, you know, five days a week or however often the show's on. I just think that's counterproductive to staying, you know, in front of the people that are going to consume that music. I agree. But here's the deal. That thing has gotten so big.
That is not a ticket that even if you work at a radio station, you can get. Because I've asked for a friend of mine that said, hey, can you get me tickets for my kid for Smimey Miley? And so Clear Channel Management says, yeah, we can't sell those. They're so in demand. Or we can't give them away. We're not allowed to give them away because they're so in demand. It's a big deal. But I agree. You'd think the reason that it's a big deal is because they've been out there in front of everybody. You know what I mean? Yeah, but if she can make a million dollars a night doing a concert versus making... A night? Yeah, because remember we reported that she grosses a million dollars a concert. So if she can make a million bucks a night versus making what? What would you say on the high end? Like $300,000 an episode? It's a big difference in money. It's not a big difference in their life. It's not going to take food off the table. I think they're being so childish. Plus, you could crank out a few of those episodes probably in a day. You could crank out three or four of those things. That's what they do. And then you're in everyone's home every night. She's not above 18. No, she's 15.
And this is what her dad's teaching her? Dude. The role of hissy fit? Yeah. Right. Quit your job. You don't get what you want. That's right. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number 35253. The Yankees won their final game at Yankee Stadium, beating Baltimore 7-3. Derek Jeter addresses the crowd. It's a huge honor to put this uniform on every day and come out here and play. The organization has been present. Has been calling this place home for 85 years. And he's wiping tears away. I'm actually putting on makeup. A lot of history. And a lot of memories. Now the great thing about memories.
is you're able to pass it along from generation to generation. And although things are going to change next year, we're going to move across the street, there are a few things with the New York Yankees that never change. That's pride, tradition, and most of all, we have the greatest fans in the world. Go visit a bathhouse! Or jacuzzi club. All right, we're all hilarious. Well, there it is. It's got to mean a lot to you, Boston Rob, because you've had a lot of memories. A lot of memories in that place, right? I felt feelings while I was watching that last night. Feelings? What kind of feelings? Anger and excitement. I wonder if they're going to nationally televised. They're going to implode that thing, I'm assuming, right?
Yeah, I want to see that, man. Or maybe they'll, like, let people bring their own sledgehammers and go down there. I can't get a trip to New York to just, you know, a couple smacks into that wall. You would want a piece of it, right? Yeah. Would you? Put it in this toilet. Yeah, so I can flush it. And I can make an outhouse out of it, Mike. Yeah, I get a brick from Fenway and I get a bunch of dirt from Fenway. Do you really? Oh, yeah. My cousin... My cousin dirty. My cousin's in the union, and he chiseled a brick out. It's all green. Really? Yeah. I want to get a case for it. Where is it? Where do you keep it? Hidden in my closet. Can you imagine this guy? With a date. Well, I eventually want to get, you know, like a nice glass case, but I ain't got that kind of money. A date's in a mayonnaise jar, Mike. It's in a little Ziploc baggie. It says Fenway Park on it. It does. It's in a Ziploc. I planted it, Mike. I'm hoping a pot comes out of it. Oh, that's great. I'll take that. I snort it every once in a while. So, Sky, what candy bars are getting changed?
Or candy. Yeah, okay, so Hershey's, you know. Demi recession. Everyone's trying to save money right now. Right? They're changing the kiss to a peck. That's right. It's like an ounce. It's the size of a beer. And he's trying to taste the chocolate, but he can't really taste it because it's so... Disintegrated. Okay. Yeah, so basically Hershey's took out cocoa butter from some of its candy bars, and that's what gives the chocolate the creamy texture, the milk chocolatey type of texture, and replaced it with a certain vegetable oil, which is cheaper. Come on. Brutal. No one wants that. So these are the ones that have changed. That's lame. Mr. Goodbar. Wait, wait, wait. Let's talk. Okay. As we go. Love Mr. Goodbar. What is it? What is it? Mr. Goodbar, I believe, is chocolate with peanuts in it. That sounds good. Correct. It's now Mrs. Goodbar. Yeah, no kidding. A little surgery. They're taking out the cocoa butter of that? Yeah, and replacing it with the vegetable oil. Awesome. So you'll even notice that on these candy bars, they've... Eddie's putting it on his face right now. It's wondrous. Actually, he's still putting makeup on. He's not done. He's not done.
Yeah, and they said you'll even notice on the packaging to these specific candies that it has changed, so it no longer says, like, milk chocolate. It'll say chocolate candy or made with chocolate or chocolatey. Yeah, they should say made with real vegetable oil. Kind of chocolate. Right. Okay, so Mr. Goodbar, Crackle. Crackles the bottle. That's like Rice Krispies, right? That's beautiful. That's beauty personified. You get those little minis? You know, the little mini ones? Crackles is just a good bar. Dare they do this right before Halloween? Jerks. Also affected, Milk Duds. Oh, dude, I love Milk Duds. Milk Duds are good. I like Milk Duds. They're real difficult on the teeth. Especially during the movie. Oh, yeah. Also, the whatchamacallit. I love that. Now, that I do like. And that's another Rice Krispie treat. It's got Rice Krispie in it. I remember when that candy came out. It was like the early 80s when that first came out. Isn't it weird how stuff gets filtered through kid culture? Like, kids knew that. We knew there was a new candy bar coming out. It was like a big deal.
candy-coated Hershey's Kisses. So, you know, the ones with the candy, the hard candy shell on the outside of them. There's Hershey Kisses with hard candy shell on them? Yeah, they just started making those. Aren't they called something? Kissables? Like mini kissables. Kissables? Yeah. They're called make-outs. Yeah. With tongue. Yes. Real bits of tongue. Now, they've had to, they did this as well to the Almond Joy, but there was an up. It's the Almond. It's the Almond Joy. It's the Almond Joy. The Almond Brothers have a candy bar? The Almond Joy. What? What are we saying? What's the problem? Skye. Everyone knows what we're talking about. Skye. No. Tell it. Yeah. Tell it. Tell what? It's a message in love. Tell your... That's so gross. Almond story. Well, that's neither here nor there right now. It's here. It's actually here. It's here in the house. Okay. Well, I... This is a story of love. Okay. True. So the Almond Joy is made with the milk chocolate, whereas the Mounds that doesn't have the almond is made with the dark chocolate. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. And sometimes you care for milk chocolate and you don't want dark chocolate, but you don't like the almond. It's pronounced almond. So you're in a bit of a predicament. You're in a bit of a quandary. So what do you do then, Skye? Well, if you're a milk chocolate lover but don't care for the almond, what you do is you get the Almond Joy. It's pronounced almond.
You eat it, you enjoy it, you suck all the chocolate off the almond, and then you take the almond out of your mouth and give it to your husband to eat. And your husband regurgitated. No, you don't regurgitate it. It has not been chewed. But it goes into your mouth and then comes out of your mouth. Yes, it does. After the chocolate. You know how when you eat chocolate, it makes your saliva all sticky? Rob is doing the little bird act, the adult bird act right now. I can't handle that. Eddie is being the baby bird. That's disgusting. That's so gross, guys. Come on. Now, wait a second. Sean, you have said that your wife, she doesn't gross you out because you get to see her cleaning practices. I don't eat food out of her mouth, Mike. You're a human being. Sean is a germaphobe. So, Sean, you're telling me that you wouldn't even allow your wife to... We've never shared saliva with our spouses. I'm not going to eat food out of her mouth. Right, right. Sky will take a cleaned almond out of her mouth, and her husband will partake. It ain't cleaned. Sean, or Mark, my boyfriend, does stuff like that with me, too. What does he do?
Like, he'll, like, one time I went to kiss him and he... Gave me an egg. He decided to give me his gum, like, as a little surprise. That is so gross. So gross. the heck was that? And he thought it was hilarious. That is so gross. So yeah, after the protests, the Almond Joys have been returned to the milk chocolate formula. The Hershey's Kisses, the classic Hershey's chocolate bars, and the peanut butter cups will all remain the same. There you go. It's pronounced almond. Yes, really awful. Yeah. What's the deal? Well, like you said, it's this formula and it, you know, 53,000 Chinese children have become sick and four have actually died from this. 104 had to be hospitalized because they got so sick. And basically there's a banned chemical, a chemical that they're like not allowed to use, but somehow ended up making its way into this formula. It's used in making plastics. That's what this chemical is used for. And it's very high in nitrogen. So it can cause kidney stones, which can lead to kidney failure, especially in infants and, you know, sick people. That's gnarly. Yeah, 53,000 Chinese children have become sick because of this. And, you know, obviously they're trying to track down the source and figure it all out. Travis Barker in a plane crash over the weekend with DJ AM. It happened on Friday night, and Travis Barker, the former drummer for Blink-182, but the two of them are alive. They're the only two survivors of the crash. Which, how do you deal with that? Yeah. How do you deal with that?
Yeah, because, you know, DJ AM, I mean, obviously it's tragic for him. But with, you know, Travis Barker, two of the people who died were his close friends. One was his assistant and the other one was his security guard. So, you know, that's kind of even more tragic. Let's see. Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau may be teaming up again. Yes. Favreau. Awesome. What do they want to do? Well, basically, Jon Favreau wrote this script, and Vince Vaughn is going to produce it, and they're both going to star in it, as well as Jason Bateman, who you love so much, Mike. I love Jason Bateman. Yeah. So it's a comedy. It's called Couples Retreat, and it will center on four couples who head off to a tropical island resort to work on their marriages. Really? Yeah. So Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, and Jason Bateman, I'm assuming, will each play a husband in one of the couples. And they start shooting on it next month in L.A. and in Bora Bora as well. They're going to be shooting. One of the stories that we have this morning is how much Jessica Simpson enjoys burping and farting. Oh, come on. And she is very outspoken on the subject. That's true. And, hey, listen. There are some guys.
Where that's cool. They have no problems with their ladies letting go of a little toot. Oh, no, no. Jessica Simpson, she dates, she goes out with Tony Romo. So obviously he doesn't have an issue with her. An issue? Yeah, she doesn't have issues with her letting go of a little gas. But what does she say, Skye? Well, this is her quote when she's talking about how that sometimes she can be a challenge to live with. She says, quote, I toot under the sheets. I spend a lot of money and I can belch the ABCs. Now, this is the only thing I'm wondering about this, these comments. Yeah. She has her own line of perfume. Yeah. Did you know this? Yeah. Yeah. She has her own line of perfume. Right. And so. When you have a perfume, you would think that anything you were talking about would be smell-good topics. Yeah. We're talking flowers and candy. Flatulence by Jessica Simpson. Oh, no. Come on. But she was on the Rachel Ray show and tried to not focus on the fact that Rachel Ray's voice is very...
Scratchy. Okay. And just try to pay attention to what Jessica's actually saying here. All right. No, but it has gardenia and it has like an almond. The almond is, yeah. It's very soft. It's not offensive. You can get into an elevator and actually pass gas and people still don't smell. Eddie has a look out now that he doesn't understand. Every time she's here, it's a jaw dropper for me. Again, is this what you're wanting to conjure up? If you have a perfume. Well, and like maybe it's just my take. Maybe guys may find that funny. Maybe not. I don't know. But on a girl show, you know, targeted to women selling a women's product. That's how you're going to market it. Yeah, I don't think the ladies are into the fart talk. Well, and the guys aren't into it. Guys think that farts are funny. No doubt about it because they are. But.
But I don't know that most guys really love to hear the chicks talking about toots stuff. I am not that guy. Some guys are, though. We've talked to them here on the show. They've called in and said, hey, you're too, you know, whatever. It's great. There's nothing wrong with it. We all do it. What's the problem? Let the romance begin. I think it shows that we're comfortable in front of our spouse. If we're able to let them go. No. I disagree. Today, by the way, you can register for a lottery drawing if you want to sit in the bleacher seats for the Oscars. Yeah, it starts today and it goes through Sunday. And basically, you know, it's like a lottery type drawing. You go to Oscars.org. That's the website, Oscars.org. And basically, these are for the bleacher seats that are right along the red carpet outside. So you're not getting inside, you know, don't get me wrong. But if you want to get near the red carpet and get pictures, they say that there's about 300 seats available. And like last year, they had about 20,000 people apply in the lottery. So, but yeah, you know, give it a.
shot. It doesn't cost you anything if you're into that. Oscars.org this week. That's cool. Yeah. I wonder if people are digging the 15 this morning. Oh, dude. I wonder if people are really digging it. I'm so excited. Yeah, and I want to hear from people if you're experiencing this, but Eddie, check it out. I'm excited. I guess there's some new lanes that they opened today. Right, Sky? Yeah. And I don't know where or what the deal is, but they think it'll help. Yeah, let's see. It's a four and a half mile stretch from the 56 up through Rancho Bernardo. So, you know, those commuter lanes, plus, you know, you can do the fast track if you want to pay. Those lanes now go all the way to Rancho Bernardo. So an extra 4.5 miles of commuter lanes. So if you have a carpool, you can use them. If you have the fast pass and you want to pay. 140 years they've been working on building that thing. About 140 years. That's ridiculous. Taft was mayor of San Diego originally when he ordered that they start construction of the new lanes on the 15. Yeah, I'm really excited. Why are you excited? I don't know. You don't go in your time. I don't. But I want to know how it works. I want to know where the entrances and the exits are. I'm really confused by this.
The thing in Rancho Bernardo where it like kind of looks like it's an exit, but it just like ends like you would like fall. But doesn't it like it's weird. Doesn't it sort of exit to the middle of the freeway? Yeah. Like there's like I need to know how this operates. Isn't there? OK, maybe I'm wrong. And I got the moving barricades. Is there or is there not like a ramp? Yeah. In the middle of the freeway. Yeah, in RB. In the middle? In RB. Yeah, the whole thing is in the middle, and then basically it's all these lanes, and then they have, you know, those divider things, and then they have a machine that moves the dividers. Have you seen that thing? Mm-mm. Oh, yeah, it's really cool. It kind of reminds me of, like, the little Zamboni thing that they use on the ice at the hockey games. Get out of here. And in the middle, like, somehow it takes the cement, you know, barricades and moves them over. So, like, you know, during commute hours, you can have more lanes going south, and then in the middle. In the afternoon, you can have more lanes coming north because they move the barrier. So I want to know how it works. I want to drive on it. I'm really excited. We are getting reports from P1s in the field. I love it. I love it. You don't seem very happy. What's the problem? P1 Brent. Brent, are you there? So talk to me.
Dude, I don't know, man. These new lanes are pretty worthless. It took me like an hour and 20 minutes just to even get out of North County. And now I'm on this lane and there's like, I can't even tell the difference. Really? Yeah. What? That's not cool. So, well, what was it supposed to do? Like, what was the idea to get you from... I don't know. I can see all these signs. Like, on the side of this, it says Traffic Relief Program, and I'm not seeing any relief. That sucks. Maybe it's all the sightseers. Maybe there's a lot of looky-loos out there because it's our first day, and they're taking pictures. They're taking pictures. They're drawing sketches. Oh, no. Maybe that's the problem. Yeah, call us if you're dealing with this and what you think of it. 570-815-3. I want to know. This guy is not. digging it at all. There's a big sign right here on my right, like up by Poway Road, and it says your tax dollars at work. That makes you feel good to see that. Exactly. Ah, reassuring. That's brutal. That's tough. We're figuring it out. It's the first day. Let's not jump to conclusions here, people. All right, we'll see. I'll hold my judgment then. Thanks, dude. Yeah, have a good one, guys. 570-1053. I'll give you the music you're going to need. Great teammate. The car was so loose, I got a run on the outside of him and got up beside him, and he tried to pinch me off going down the back stretch, which is what he should have done. He's leading, and we got together a little bit, but I had my nose out there, and I couldn't give up. It was my last chance to get him, but, you know, I just want to thank the fans. The fans saw a great race today, and 3M, I wanted to get them a victory lane so bad. I just wish my family's here. At Robbins Brothers, we're all about finding you that one perfect ring.
Platinum rings are just so me. I totally heart platinum. It's so modern and chic, you know? But yellow gold is so cute, too, and white gold would go with everything. Then again, palladium absolutely rocks. It's totally what all my friends have. I love them also. I just don't know. Oh, my gosh. At this rate, I'm never going to make a decision. From platinum to palladium and anything else you can imagine, you'll find the ring that says you. Now, does the princess cut go with the yellow gold? Maybe it goes better with white gold. Or does the cushion cut go better with palladium? Or maybe a two-tone goes better with the marquee cut. But honestly, I think a heart-shaped cut is so totally more me. I heart, heart. It's so perfect and symbolic and sparkly. Not exactly sure what you want? Our in-store consultants will help you choose the perfect diamond. I think I'm kind of Ritani or Solana or Simon G. Or, wow, this is way harder than it looks. Relax. At Robbins Brothers, we make finding the perfect one easy. Oh, I totally forgot about pear cut. Am I a pear? I'm more radiant, maybe, but I still heart heart, you know? Robbins Brothers. One love, one ring.

USA! USA! USA! The U.S. recaptures the Ryder Cup in a dominant effort over the Europeans. Nick Faldo, the European team captain, kind of congratulates the U.S. team. You know, we were outplayed just marginally in different areas by America, but we take our hats off to them this week. You know, it was a great event. We can all leave here very proud. Chins up. Straight back. We will be back to fight another day. Yes, the Americans were able to squeak out the tiniest of victory against us. No, it was a pretty big blowout, Nick. It was marginal. I suppose that every bloke has his day, right? I mean, every once in a while, luck does have to take a while. You're kind of giving us a backhanded compliment. I don't really appreciate that. Today's going to be a good day. I'm cracking up. I like this bit. That's P1 Kel. Wow. Skye. Skye, do you like money? It was a setup. Wow. Relax, kid. There's enough to go around. This text says, oh, my gosh. Sky screaming, show me the money just made my life. I was on the phone with a customer and burst into hysterics. Thank you. That's P1 Love Bunny. This text message simply says, show me the money? And then in all caps.
Podcast, podcast, podcast. Mikey show drop forever. It's P1. What's ham pooning? There's anger behind that voice. She wants the money. She wants to see the money. She wants to see the money. Great job. Thank you. Thank you. I really got in character. This text says probably one of the best Mikey show segments ever. Can't wait for the next one. That's P1 Jefe. Mikey, was Skye and Eddie reading from the story of Skye's life? That was taken from a real phone call. She was standing outside her bank. She stands outside the bank. She yells, show me the money. Wow. This one says, you guys are classic. Good job, Skye. Good job, Eddie. Please podcast, podcast.
Show me the money. You guys rock and are killing me this morning. That's P1 Peaches. This one says, OMG, I love this new game. It's hilarious. But please, you have to warm up just like that every time you play. You got it. We have to get into characters. You don't want to pull a hammy or something. Nicely done. Love your show. I see what you're doing there. It's P1 Praetorian. So, yeah, I was thinking about this whole, you know, the Bluetooth thing and how we all have to wear. these, you know, Star Trek things in our ears. You gotta have hands free. You cannot be holding the phone up to your ear, which, by the way, every time I pass somebody, I'm like, you're breaking law! In my head, I'm like, you're a lawbreaker! Yeah, you're a criminal. I don't know if I'd go that far. I never really thought of him as a terrorist, but... Think about it. Maybe they kind of are, you know, now that you think about it. But, uh... It made me think, you know, it probably has increased phone usage because maybe some people didn't talk on the cell phone in their car before just because it was kind of tough. Now it's easy. It's way easier to talk on your phone in the car now with the hands free. But what it made me think was, I wonder if people are now experiencing hearing stuff crazy happen.
You know, because they're always on the phone and we're getting phone calls about it. You could tell us to 570-1053-35253 is the text number. P1 Michelle. Yes. Good morning. What happened to you? You know, actually, the coworker of mine, he met this girl over the Internet. They've been conversing back and forth for a month. So it's finally the big night to me. He gave her a call. She was talking on the phone and she's saying, hey, I'm running late. She was in her car. And then all of a sudden the phone went dead. So he keeps calling back and back, and it's like, it's weird. Two days later, he doesn't hear anything. Finally, her sister calls. She had gotten into an accident so bad she was in ICU. Oh, wow. Oh, my gosh. Okay, so the phone just went blank? Yeah, because she just got into an accident. Yeah. See, I would have thought that you would hear jostling, that you would hear the phone flying all over the place. Yeah, yeah. But I guess not. It just went dead. Well, because it just, I guess, like it flew out of her ear and banged because she had head injuries. Wow. She's telling your sister, you have to call this guy. And her sister looked on the phone because her phone wasn't busted up. It was just the earpiece was. So that's how he found out. And a couple of months later, they were able to get together. And I guess they're still together now. So there you go.
570-1053. Thank you for the call. 570-1053. Ever heard anything crazy while you've been talking on the phone, the cell phone with somebody, somebody else on the cell phone? Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Yeah, who's this? This is Lydia. Lydia, what did you hear? Well, it actually happened to me. I was on the phone with my magazine editor, and a car, like, started driving into my lane. So I started screaming at the top of my lungs, and then... I was leaving him a message. Whoa. That's awesome. Yeah. He just calls me back, and he's like, are you okay? I'm like, yeah, I'm fine. I just, this big, like, rigged truck was driving into my lane, and I was pretty much driven off the road, but I didn't die or anything. I just. Are you still there? Oh, no. Are you there? Big rig. Oh, my goodness. Did you ever hear the, did you? You know, I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm going to the show. I'll be taking pictures. And then all of a sudden I'm just like, ah! Did you hear your message? Did you ever hear your message back? No, I never heard my message. He called me and he was like, um, that was the craziest, you know, message I've ever received. Are you fine? Oh, no, no, no.
No one would scream that if you get to an accident. Listen, that is a great exclamation point no matter what we're talking about. If a big rig is coming into my lane, I would scream that out. Yeah. And hopefully Sky would be in the car with me and she'd yell it. That would physically move the truck out of my lane. It's so loud. It's like a superpower. That's incredible. Wow. That's incredible. She yelled that in front of the Statue of Liberty during the filming. of that sci-fi movie that came out this summer. I mean, if you're going to make a joke about me, shouldn't you at least have the reference ready, bro? I mean, it's Cloverfield. It's Cloverfield. It's right there. That sci-fi movie that came out. I know. I know. It was the best I could do. You were so close. It was the best I could do. I was right there. I had it. I had a laugh right under the, you know, and then just at the very end. It checked. Show me the money. Show me the money. Hey, uh,
By the way, we were talking about the 15, getting the extra lanes and all that stuff. And NBC 739 cameraman Spencer Thornburg is on the line. You there, Spencer? Yeah, I'm here. So you and Mari were covering this this morning? Yeah, actually, yeah, we were out there. And tell you where I was with Mari. Mari's on vacation this week. Okay. Well, she's been working hard when she was behind the desk. We were watching. That's right. She was behind the desk for a while. Yeah, she had to take some time off after all that hard work behind the anchor desk. That's right. That's right. But, yeah, we were out there covering the opening of the HOV lanes this morning. And, Skye, that lane that kind of goes and disappears into nowhere over in Rancho Bernardo that you're talking about. Yeah, what is that? That's a transit center, or it's going to be. It's still under construction, but you'll be able to, like, park and ride from there. park there and take a bus and the buses will be able to get into the HOV lanes without having to cross all the way over. That's not in the middle of the freeway, right? Yeah. Okay, they're going to build like a hub in the middle of the freeway? Well, it's kind of off to the side. It does cross over to the west side of the 15.
Westside. Westside. So is it kind of like you would park off the freeway, you'd walk on the little overpass over the freeway. Hey, we're seeing your gang signal for Westside. We saw it. No, we saw it. We saw it. Throwing it up. Yeah. I mean, well, you'd catch the bus there on the side, yeah. Okay. Huh. Now, Spencer, was it all jacked up like the P1s were saying? P1s were... Eddie, we got it. Yeah, we got it, Eddie. Do you see how Eddie's finger bends? Do that again. Well, that's how you do it, bro. No, no, no, no. But look at his... Oh, oh, oh. It was a shadow. It looked like... He's doing shadow. Hey, Mike, look. It's a rabbit. Oh, my goodness. There's a rabbit in the room. Show me the bunny. Oh, whoa. Wait. So, Spencer, yeah. Was it all messed up? We had a P1 call in and said he hated it. No, when I was there, when we were there, it wasn't. We must have just missed it when we left. But we actually went down to all the way over to Escondido and tried getting people who were using the HOV lane or who had or who were going to be. And we were getting people and talking to people. And the people early in the morning, they were cool with it. They really liked it. At least they were hoping that it would take some of that congestion that normally is there.
Did you hear the guy that we talked to that called in and said he sat in traffic for an hour and a half and he was wondering what the deal was? Yeah, I did. I did. But I didn't see any of that when I was up there. It could be that, you know. He was on the wrong freeway. Yeah. He was calling from L.A. He was confused. It's very exciting, Spencer. Yeah, Sky gets into this traffic stuff. I'm really excited about this. Can't wait. Hey, Spence, thank you for calling, man. I hope we're at a point where I can call you Spence. No, you can't. Yeah, go ahead. All right. Thank you. All right, Spencer. We'll see you. We'll see you. All right. They still have a bunch of stuff out there. It still looks like they're not done. Well, yeah, because so they finished up through RB, but then it's going to be another year to finish it up through Escondido to the 78. Up to Canada. I'm sure it'll be. Exactly. And I'm sure it'll be 12 months. Exactly. Or less. Totally. Come on. Or less. Let me wrap up in 11. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Expected date to be done is like, you know, January 09 is when they think that that will be done.
That stuff takes forever. And it's still crowded. When are we going to start having little me-meeps in the sky? Flying around cars, you know? It's too crowded. It's too crowded. We have to do either that or we tell people you can't move into San Diego anymore. Build a border. Put up a wall. Isn't that what Reagan said? I think that's what Reagan said. He was like, bear down this wall. See, there he is. He's going up this wall. Oh, yeah. How about that? That's all I'm saying. 570. Our text number, 35253. When we come back, Alec Baldwin on 2020. He is asked some questions by... Is her name Diane Sawyer? Yeah. He's asked questions from Diane Sawyer about him leaving a message to his daughter, Ireland, where he called her a pig. Uh-oh. And Diane Sawyer wants to know, you know, hey, do you feel ashamed of yourself? So we will hear that. You guys are awesome. Appreciate it, bro. Thank you. That's right, the New York Jets and Brett Favre. Monday Night Football tonight. All the action can be heard right here on Rock 105.3. I made up a recipe. I never do that. I don't ever make stuff up. I always like something or see something on TV and go, I'm going to do that. And I made this thing last night, and it was really good. Really good. What was it? Well, every once in a while, I like a proper roast up. A what? I like to have a proper roast up. What's a roast up? That's where you roast something. And see, now, my dad likes anything roasted. And so I roast him stuff all the time because Sundays is a family day.
My mom comes over, she watches Jake and Rebecca just sleeps. And me and my dad watch football. And then that night her mom comes over, we all have dinner. And so, and I always cook. And so I was thinking of flavors in my head and I never do this. I always fall. And I was so freaked out to do this because I thought this could really be terrible. What I did was I took those little potatoes. New potatoes, white ones and red ones. Put them in the bottom of a roasting tray. And then I took my mortar and pestle, which I think is, man, if you don't have one, you got to get one. They're really great for making flavor. Do you use one, Ash? I got a little miniature one that I minced my garlic with. They're so, yeah, they're good for garlic bashing it up. Yeah. So that's what I did. I took like five or six garlic cloves, put them in the mortar and pestle.
squeezed some lemon in there, put some olive oil. Then I put a ton of fresh thyme and I bashed it all up into a paste, like a gooey paste. That's actual audio of me bashing it up. And then I took a whole chicken, cut it right down the middle so it was in two parts, put the new potatoes on the bottom of the roasting tray, and I poured this stuff over and I mixed it all in, right? Well, before I, oh, I forgot. This was the thing that I experimented with. In the big mortar and pestle, I went to the grocery store and I got freshly ground chorizo. Freshly ground. I took it and I cut it up with a knife. I put it in the mortar and pestle and I kept stirring it and grinding it until it was a part of the sauce. It was like now it was liquefied. And I poured it over the chicken and over the potatoes and just got my hands in there. Got it all, you know.
And then I took the rest of the chorizo and I just picked it and I put little bits of it all in the potatoes. And I roasted it in the oven. And then, and I was thinking to myself in my head, I was like, I think what would taste good with this is the flavor, the sweetness of peach. So I cut up white French bread and put butter on it and then peach preserves. And that spiciness of that chorizo with the sweet of the peaches, oh, my goodness. It was one of those I was full 20 minutes ago type of deals. Oh, man. Dude, it was good. And, oh, man, I like to cook. Oh, and I put little strips. I cut about three-inch swabs of bacon and put it under the skin.
Of the chicken? Nice. Good idea. Smart. It was good. It was really, really good. You're good. Do you ever make some kind of turkey? No. If you ever do, keep in mind that sweet and stuff, you want to go with figs. Really? Yeah. What did you do? Well, I'm not as fancy to roast anything, you know, like all that. But the microwave works, Mike. No, no, no. You ever tried a boiled turkey? Yeah. Not bad. What did you do? If you can just buy, you know, regular deli turkey. Yeah. If you got the money, buy a whole turkey and do a turkey. Are you talking Thanksgiving? No. I'm talking about just regular, dude. You buy pieces of sliced. Yeah, just a deli shaved turkey. Got it, got it, got it. And then I'll buy like, you know, deep pitted figs. Yeah. And you can slice them up real small and make a little sandwich like that. Really? Oh, dude, the best. Or you can buy a fig jam. I'm not even kidding, dude. It sounds weird. Try it. I'm not kidding with you. I wish you were kidding. I'm going to try it. No, it sounds good. I wouldn't. Well, you eat cranberry with turkey. You know why I like it? You know what makes me like it? Is that the turkey's salty. Yeah. And the figs are sweet. Get the, like, cracked pepper. Yeah, that's what I get. Yeah, that cracked pepper. Mikey Show, did you guys hear Boy Blender announce?
that he's going to go back to being called Blunder instead of producer Rick. No. No, that can't. Get him on the phone. And he doesn't announce it on our show? Come on. P1 Wes Costas wrote that. That has to be famous. Can you try to get Blunder on, Ash? Well, for those of you that don't know, on our new Listening to the Mikey show, we used to have a kid on the show named Boy Blunder. And... I guess he had his name legally changed to Rick. I don't think so. That's his radio name. That's weird. But he did not want to be known as Boy Blunder anymore when he left our show. He got hired back by our program director to work in the afternoon, and he changed his name to Producer Rick. Boring. I was talking about this one a couple weeks ago, how Eddie had a sit down with him, said, hey, if you want to be memorable in this business, you got to have a memorable name like Blunder. You know, no one's going to remember Rick. And what did you say he said to you? He said he didn't want to be Blunder. He's moved on. He feels that he's gone beyond that. And so he didn't want to be Blunder anymore. But according to this text message, he's decided that he's going to go back to Boy Blunder.
Oh, that would be so good. Oh, that would be awesome. It would be like a dream come true. Well, yeah. A dream? I don't know if I'd go that far. I think it would be a dream come true. I threw a penny in a well and said, if I can have one wish, it would be that he would change his name back to Blender. And when were you hanging out around a well? Oh, like all the time. Yeah, hello. He was at Wells R Us. My bad. He's at Well World. Wells Fargo. Ashley just smiled and shook her head looking at me on the phone, probably going straight to voicemail. Have we ever called? No. Blunder on the morning show and he picks up. He's fast asleep. The only times we've ever heard from him are on the rare occasion he's awake and calls us. First of all, if a bear eating his face can't wake him up, how is a phone supposed to wake him up? That is true. His ringer should be pots and pans. Maybe we should try Clint, who's on the afternoon show, and see if Clint knows anything about it. Because the afternoon show is B.C. and Clint. B.C. and Clint. And producer Rick. Rock 105.3. Well said. Oh, he's probably really sleeping in today because he doesn't have to work today. Oh, because of the Charger game. Well, see, in all honesty, he probably won't wake up until tomorrow. He's probably like a bear. Yes. He goes to sleep, you know.
Inside of a cave. And he only wakes up during the spring thaw. That's when he wakes. That's like his, you know, internal alarm clock. The spring starts to thaw out the snow. Blunder was a Boy Scout. And while he was sleeping, a bear came and was licking his face. Now, he does... This is the way the story was communicated to him. Right. Because he never woke up. Well, okay, wait. A bear. No, he woke up, but he woke up to pots and pans being knocked together. So he was asleep. Yes. Yes. A bear came into camp. Black bear. Really? Yep. And was licking his face. Yeah. Yeah. And he's continuing to sleep through this. He struck through that, yeah. But then the rest of the troupe. Yeah. It woke everyone else up. hit the pots and pans, and he woke up. And then they told him a bear was eating your face. Yes. And he was like, huh? And they said, yeah. And they said, yeah. And then he told us the story. Wow, that is unbelievable. Although the story changes. The story changes. Every single time. Every single time he's told that story, there's a new
nuance to the story something we've never heard before we say wait it always sounds like this wait a second what you've never said this before joker there's always something new oh well i hope it's true we should film i shouldn't be alive with him exactly how strange would the i shouldn't be alive be Being that the person never experienced it. They can't tell you their personal experience with it. From what I understand. Yes. Well, what Josh said was... And six times he has to start over because he's changing the story so much. Exactly. A better I shouldn't be alive for him was when we sent him out in a thunderstorm with a golf club. Dude, we were so stupid. Let me tell you something. Are you serious? Dude, we were so stupid. In Texas. They got some crazy thunderstorms there. Like Tornado Town. The fact that we'd never, and I'm being totally serious when I say this. Proof of God to me is the fact that Blunder's alive. Yes. That's so true. And that God just must have had a bigger plan for him, for us. Well, he's got a sense of humor. I mean, he probably thought it was pretty funny. Dude, we, and everybody listening right now, don't do this. Yeah, no, it's really bad. Never do this. And the other thing that's crazy about it is,
Our management must have thought, they're not really doing that. Yeah, it's a bit. Like, this is a bit, they're just putting this on. He's in the lobby or something. He wasn't. No, he wasn't. We sent, I mean, it was a crazy, crazy thunderstorm. Thunder and lightning and pouring rain. And it was dangerous, really dangerous. We put a light bulb in Boy Blunder's mouth and sent him outside with a golf club. So brutal. We wanted to see if we could get the light bulb to light up. Yeah, that'd be neat. We have Boy Blunder on the line. The fisherman. Hi. Hi, you swimmer, you fish. I love your face. We love your face. I never know what to expect when you guys call me. Don't be so defeated. I'll be so beaten down. Don't be beaten down already, you. All I want to do is just sleep in a little bit. Yes. Yes, that's right. That's all the kid wants in life, buddy. That's right. He just wants to sleep. He just wants to sleep. Oh, man. Producer Rick. Yes. Is it true that you announced that you are going to go back to being called Boy Blunder? No. I don't know where they got that. Oh.
Well, I mean, basically, BC was just giving me crap. Oh, did Greaseman show them? No, so he's been calling me Boy Blunder on the air. Oh, good! No, he still calls me Producer Rick on the air. How did it start? How did it start that he started calling you Boy Blunder? It's just, you know, he just sneaks it in every once in a while. Just to get my goat a little bit, that's all. I mean, I really think the P1 should go to rock1053.com and maybe email. Yeah, I think that's a good idea. And let them know how, you know, they feel. That's a great idea. That's a great idea. And we'll just go with that. Yeah, yeah. And we'll just go with, you know what I mean? Sean, can you put a poll up on the website? Yeah, that's a good idea. Yeah, what name should he go by? Yeah, because, I mean. I have a question, though. I have a question. I have answer. Why do you fight it? Well, I don't really fight it. Oh, you're fighting. Oh, you're fighting. You're fighting. You're fighting it like you're fighting off a bear. That's right, dude. Like a tough man competition. Oh, man. Okay, two references that I called for. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. I just want to be Rick for a while. Well, you haven't. Yeah, we tried it out. Yeah, we tried it. It didn't fit. No. It didn't take. Mm-hmm.
He didn't even try. No, it's awful. It's awful. Listen, we gave it the college go. We did our best. Jerry Sanders called and said, I don't like it. Well, who was it? Somebody sent Clinton an email last week saying, that they didn't like my name being Producer Rick on there because it sounds like a porn producer. Yeah, I sent that. Hey, Producer Rick, I got a question. Go ahead. Is that what I call him? I don't know. Yeah, yeah, call him that. Producer Rick. Creepy. I got a variation, so it's kind of like a new and improved version of... Whoa, hold on! What about Bear Blunder? Oh. It's like a grown-up. Producer Rick, what are your thoughts on Bear Blunder? Bear Blunder? Yeah, it's like Bear Grylls. It's tough. I'll be honest. It doesn't have quite the same ring, though, as Boy Blunder. It doesn't. Boy Blunder it is. Stick with that, then. I'm 28 years old now. Perfect. Boy Blunder, though? No, you're not.
Yeah, pre-teen blunder doesn't. You're not 28. Teen blunder doesn't flow off the tongue, and I'm not buying it. You're 28. He's not 28. He was born on leap year. How old are you really? Seven. Seven. Boy blunder. That's right. What about foy-fooey? Yeah, what about fishy? I would love foy-fooey. I would go all the way to foy-fooey. Or fishy. I like the fish. The fish, the fisherman. What about gravy beard? I'm going to shave the gravy beard off. Don't! We love it. I know. It's back. I can't believe it. How old are you? 28. No way. Wow. I went to my high school reunion this weekend. You did? In Big Bear? Yeah. How was it? How was it? It was cool. It was a lot of really cool people. Do you own a suit? Yeah, what did you wear? Yeah, what did you wear, fisherman? Just a nice little classy outfit. Is it that same outfit that we got you that one time when we did the makeover? Oh, the Queer Eye makeover? Yes. Do you remember that? No, no, no.
Dockers and Dockers button-down shirt. I was very classy. You're an Indiana Jones costume from Blue Ball. Hey, how dare you? Come on. Hey, on the website, you go to the website right now, and we have a vote up. I'm voting. I'm voting. I gotta vote. It's right next to new on the show, and we have a special guest that we'd like to introduce online right now. His name is BC. Oh, yeah. Rockwood053. Hey, BC. Hi, Mikey. That's right. It's our afternoon DJ. BC, how long have you been the afternoon DJ at Rock 105? About 200 years. Dude. Seriously, I think you started doing afternoons in, I want to say, 95 or 96. Oh, my goodness. He's been doing afternoon drive for like 12, 13 years now. That's the best. That's the best. So talk to us about this producer, Rick, that we have on the phone here. Producer Rick, as one lady pointed out on an email, that sounds more like a porn star name. It is. It's terrible. Yeah, it does. But we figured before somebody like Playtex bought a name sponsorship...
And you know it's coming. You know it's going to happen. He was Budweiser. Why not play text? So we'd have to call him like the, you know, the producer that lives and separates or something like that. Right. Right. Well, you know, he has such a, he is so against Boy Blunder. Oh, so adult. Mike, I have an update on the poll. What do you got? Just checked the results. 100% is for Boy Blunder. Wait a minute, Eddie. That's not possible. I mean, not one single person. That's not possible. There has to be one person who thinks that he should be producer Rick. There isn't. Oh. I can't even get the poll to come up, actually. I'm trying to get it up. I'm trying to vote. Well, save that clip. Oh, hello. I'm trying to find it. It's under new on the show. Here it is. New on the show. It says vote now. It's right next to new on the show. It says vote now. Which name should Blunder slash Rick use on the air? I'm clicking on Boy Blunder. That's my vote.
I'm clicking on vote. Somebody voted for producer Rick. It's now 96.88% believe he should be Boy Blunder. And 3.13% believe he should be producer Rick. Well, that clinches it. There you go. Come on, BC, fire him if you want to be Boy Blunder. That's right. I don't like that. Where's that going? Man. Now, so Boy Blunder, tell me why you have a problem. I love it. You're trying to impose your will here, fellas. That's not cool. Oh, man. Let me tell you something. Come on. Listen, producer Blunder. I say. The audience demands it. Yes. Boy Rick. I say. I say. From the way he's whining, it sounds like we better get that play text. Exactly. Line him up.
At least wait until the 28-hour show, then make the big announcement that you're going to become Boy Blunder again. That would be fantastic. Oh, great. Hey, Blunder. Yeah, what? Do you remember that time? He's getting angry. BC, I don't even know if you know about this story. But do you remember the very first 28-hour show we ever did? Mm-hmm. Talk about it. Is that what you're talking about? Yep. Oh, yeah. BC, do you know this story? Go ahead. Refresh my memory. So. We were doing... He has the greatest voice ever. That's his real voice. I love it. That's the way he talks. We were doing mornings in San Jose, and it was our very first 28-hour show at KSJO. The afternoon DJ was this guy named Spaz. Oh, no, no, no. It was... Was it? It was Zach. It was Zach. The guy's name was Zach. And his stunt boy was this guy named Spaz. Who was for real. Like he really, he was really the character that you heard on the air, this really strange guy. And so we had him come into our studio during the 28 hour show in the middle of the day. And we were going to have him do a stunt on our show because he wanted really badly to come and watch us do our show. And we didn't want him to. And so we said, okay, you can.
But you have to come in and do a stunt like you do on the afternoon show. And he said, okay. So he came in, and this is when Boy Blunder was our stunt kid. And you know producer Rick. He can be very shy and very passive. And, you know, he's tentative. Listen, back then he was really the type that you could kind of walk over if you had, you know, the gumption to do it. Here's Spaz not wanting to do this stunt that we lay out for him, which was to eat dog food. Pretty easy. We thought a very easy stunt. And you could tell he was really reluctant. He was aiming and on about it. Going forever. Blunder really genuinely. freaked out oh he got so mad he got really upset and really mad it was like one of those really strange moments and he flipped out and he starts yelling at spaz on the air you know because we're and it's the 28 hour show so we're and my jaw drops open and i'm thinking in my head i'm going what's going on right now like what's unfolding in front of us blunder snap and this guy this guy spaz is like scared
Because he's getting yelled at on the air by Blunder. And Blunder grabs the dog bowl. We had put the dog food in a dog bowl. Of course. Blunder grabs the dog bowl from him and takes this spoon. It was a tablespoon. And just starts scooping it in his mouth and jamming it down and just eating it. And we were like. Well, granted, he was hungry. Yes, he was. We'll meet him in about an hour. And we are clapping and screaming and whistling. It was a studio full of people. They all went crazy. They were flipping out. That was funny. Oh, yes. That was a tour de force moment for the fish. It really was. It really was. Now, that happened under the name Boy Blunder. Kennel racing or Alpo? It was a combination, if I remember correctly. I think you're right. It's a combination. Yeah, we wanted to have a little wet, little dry. We wanted a little consistency. Oh, good. Yeah. Yeah, that's all right. B.C., what are you doing for your day off? You just hanging out and having a good time? Yeah, since it's a national holiday in San Diego called Monday Night Football. That's right. Yeah, we're just going to go probably hang in the parking lot, do a little tailgating, and go Chargers, baby. Nice. Nice. All right, B.C., thank you, man. All right, guys. All right, we'll see you. So, well, there it is. The evidence is compelling. Come on, Blunder. The evidence is very compelling.
I don't know anything of what you guys are talking about. Why are you acting like this? Me too. Crazy people. It's just unbelievable. You stubborn little boy. You are so... You're so insolent. Insolent. That's right. 87% are voting. I bet you're online voting for Rick and you know it. Please. No, I can't even... The poll's not coming up for me. I can't even... I don't know. Thank you, Producer Rick. All right. Goodbye. There he is. 570-1053. That's our phone number. You don't just get right on the air, though. This text message at 35253 says, why can't Rick compromise and be producer blunder? A little more grown up.
Love you. I'm out. P1 Lexi. This text message said, Boy Blunder could possibly be the best radio name ever. It sounds like a cuddly superhero. It's P1 Optimus Prime. This one says, Bring Boy Blunder back. Signed, P1. Bring Boy Blunder back. So, listen. Audience has spoken. Definitely. Loud and clear. They want him back. Yeah, they do. We're getting some text messages about it. This one says, blunder and the dog food. It says, hey, guys, if I remember correctly, Spaz was forced to eat the dog food because he was making up for previously being a complete idiot. Didn't he call into the show several times pretending he wasn't Spaz because you guys were having a comic on the show that he liked? That's so funny. That's right. It says, then you asked Zach.
If you could do the stunt on the 28-hour marathon, which was awesome, by the way. What a great way to spend the night up doing homework. And Zach couldn't figure out why he had to have a stunt boy that couldn't figure it out. I also remember Blunder then graduating and was no longer required to do weekly stunts every Tuesday. That's true. Speaking of the first 28-hour show. Mikey, your acapella rendition of More Than Words was absolutely outstanding. It's like a songbird. Better than the original. Keep up the great work. I'm not working right now, and so I don't sleep much at night due to the presence of a baby that eats every three hours. So I'm looking forward to the marathon all night. You got Boy Blunda living at you? That's right. It's P1 Jessica from San Jose. Hey, Mikey Show. I was flying to the Bay Area last Friday evening, minding my own business, when all of a sudden, here comes Ash and her boyfriend. What the heck? Oh my gosh, she loves him so much. We fly on love. On the wings of love. They proceeded to sit down a couple seats away from me in the gate area and immediately start being all gross lovey-dovey with each other.
They were so enamored with each other that they almost missed their flight. I almost wish they had missed it just for making everyone in the gate area uncomfortable. Oh, no. Ash, can you hear me? Signed, P1 Horse and Buggy Ride. Ash, can you hear me? Wow, Ash, you love your boyfriend so much. That's a clip of Ashley actually saying. Very emotional. That she loves him so much. That person to put down freaking hate race. That's right. Oh, yeah. But were you guys, like, making out or what? No. Oh, okay. Not at all, but we did almost miss our flight. Why? We were making out. Because we were at the wrong gate, so we were looking at the line that was actually gate 8 as opposed to gate 7, which was our gate.
So we're, like, thinking, like, okay, why aren't they boarding yet? Like, looking at our watch, like, they should be boarding by now. And then all of a sudden we hear, last call to, you know, Oakland. And we're like, what the? We were at the wrong gate. So that was, like, us being stupid. But it's weird because, like, we weren't even being affectionate. Like, I don't know what that was like. It's annoying. Anyways. Aw. After all the political talk, Lindsay Lohan's not. Registered to vote. Oh, come on. Shut up. Shut up. Yeah, she's blogging about how she hates Sarah Palin and gay rights and abortions for everyone. And then she was blogging about how she wants to help Barack Obama and she wants to host a fundraiser for Obama. Well, the New York Post was like, wow, Lindsay's really into it. You know, we should see how long she's been registered, how long she's been voting. Not registered at all in either California or New York.
And when her people. Maybe it's they were looking under Lindsay Lohan and she's actually Lindsay Lohan. Maybe that's it. Good point. Her representative, when it was brought to her attention, said, quote, she is so happy you told her she filed the paperwork and gave it to her business manager and is now checking up on it. Oh, I love it. Me too. Yeah, I'm sure she did. I'm sure she did. That's fantastic. A lot of paperwork you've got to file to register to vote. I am such an idiot. Eddie Vedder wrote a song for the Chicago Cubs. What? Yep, he sure did. That's crazy. The Chicago Cubs. It's called All the Way. And it's already getting airplay in Chicago radio stations. Hi. Hey, Carrie. I have a song I want to request. Where is it? It's from my...
My good friend Carrie Underwood. Oh, what song is that? It's that song where she vandalizes a car. Oh, yeah, yeah. That's a great song. I love that song. Yeah, isn't that called Enter Sandman or Until It Sleeps? What is it? I forget what it's called. I don't remember. Oh, I thought it was Until It Sleeps. That must be another song. She's not falling for no banana to tell you. Yeah, that's right. I'll tell you that right now. That's Harry Carey in the studio right now with us. Yeah. He's a friend of the show. Uh-oh. I bet I know who that is. I hope that's my good friend. Oh, hi, Carol Underwood. What have you been up to? I've been paging you like crazy. Are you getting my pages? No, I haven't got one page. Oh, my goodness. That is outrageous. Last week, I lost my pager. Hi. That's weird. Yeah, Carrie Underwood. I have a philosophical question for you. I don't understand a word out of your mouth. I have a philosophical question for you. Oh, a philosophical question. What would be the deal if you were a hot dog? Would you eat yourself? I would spread mustard all over myself and I'd eat myself dry. That's weird. You would slather it all over? Yeah, I would. With some relish.
Oh, gross. That's crazy. Hey, Harry Carey. Hey, Carey. Do you know my boyfriend, Tony Romo? Uh-oh. Yeah. I love his ribs. Carrie, Carrie, they broke up. You're thinking of the restaurant owner, Tony Romo. This is my boyfriend, Tony Romo. She's in denial. Oh, no. I used to date Tony Romo from the Dallas Cowboys. That's right. He broke up with me. What? Who would ever brag up with you? You're the best, Carrie Underwood. Oh, you vandalized? I vandalized his car. Why are you so upset? I forget. I'm dating Rue McClanahan. She's the girl from the Golden Girls. Yeah, we make a great couple. Is she still alive? I don't remember. Are you still alive? No, I'm long gone. Oh my goodness, this whole bit. Too soon?
That was Carrie Underwood and Harry Perry. Yeah, who knew they were such close friends? Together again. They always talk to those two. That's right. That is weird. So apparently Daughtry is going to be on CSI New York. You are a dork. Acting. He's going to act. He's going to be doing a guest acting gig. I don't accept. Somebody steals. His little tiny beard under his lip. That little mini beard that he has under his lip. Okay. No, that is not. I don't believe so. They couldn't get Jasmine Trias? Yeah. Why not? So this is going to be the 100th episode of CSI New York. And I guess also Rumor Willis, Scott Wolf, some other people, some other big names. Todd Bridges. And basically what the episode is about is about a serial killer who targets. An hour and a half, right, Eddie? The storyline follows a serial killer who's targeting people with the name Mac Taylor.
So there's a bunch of different people with that name. That's funny. And I guess one of their regular characters is named Mac Taylor. But so Daughtry will play. Yeah, that's really convenient. But then these guest stars, also their name is some version of Mac Taylor. So Daughtry will be playing Mac Taylor. Daughtry's seven-year-old daughter got to write the episode. It's a good one. He is described as an attractive 30-something-year-old musician. Wow. So it's going to be a stretch. Yeah. There you go. I guess we're all admitting that he is really attractive. Mark Wahlberg's fiance gave birth to their third child last week. Congratulations. Yep, they had another little... Eddie and Rob just high-fired. I don't know why. I just feel stoked. They're celebrating. Have a sky later for him. Okay. Well, he had another little baby boy. It's the audience plotting it. So they haven't released the name. Of the little baby boy, but his previous two kids have normal names, Ella and Michael. So we'll see if he names the third one something normal or not. That's fantastic. John McCain went to his 50th class reunion. Oh, my. At the Naval Academy. Oh.
Yep, the graduating class of 1958, everybody. Wow. Freaking, right? Wow. It's called experience. It's called depends. We all dressed as greasers. Have your T-birds up. Yeah, they are. They all drove their T-Birds. Oh, my gosh. Wow. You mean their Model T? Oh, yeah, that's right. Eddie? Yes. How is it that you, first of all, are you going to go to tonight's Monday football extravaganza? Of course I will. So are you saying that you will see the number four in person? You may see me on the field running trying to chase him down. I just want to, you know, talk to him, tell him I think he's real cool and handsome. Just kiss him a little. Just, like, run your fingers through his hair real quick. Eddie has made no secret of the fact that Brett Favre is one of his favorite players. Oh, he's gorgeous. Rugged. A bit of a man crush. Very rugged. Absolutely gorgeous. He's very rugged. You've seen his beard. Perfect. Perfect, yeah. Okay, Eddie, I honestly, I want your...
Expert opinion on this. I want to know how you think the Chargers defense is going to look against Brett Fravry. Well. Fravry. Fravry. Fravra. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Fravry. Drink. Thank you. That was a close one. That was a close one. Oh, water almost out there. You're good. I don't know. Oh, I don't want to hear you say that. I hope they play good. I mean, you know, it's tough because I've only seen them play poorly in the first two games. And so you hope that they've done what they need to do to shore it up and, you know. put some spackle on that bad boy because they need to stop Thomas Jones for sure. And Brett Favre likes those quick slant passes, and that is going to be tough to stop. So you can give them those five, six yards and just make tackles, and you'll be fine. I remember you said that on the positive side, what you're kind of getting from camp, from talking to people in the Charger camp, is that they are kind of ticked. Yes.
Probably with a little bit of a chip on their shoulder after what happened last week. Hopefully they'll come out aggressive and really take it to the Jets right away. Go for the jugular right away. Don't mess around. Let's see. In fact, I think Eddie and I in fantasy football have competing. We're not playing each other, but we each have a quarterback in tonight's game. Yeah, I've already won. You did? Yeah, and I still have Rivers and Gates going. Oh, my. So I'm shooting for high score this week. Nice. I'm not done. My guy that I'm playing this week. I have Favre. Nice. But he's got this guy that who knows what he'll do because I haven't even heard of this guy. His name is Ladanian Tomlinson. Oh. Yeah. Oh, you're playing Russell? Yeah. Yeah. I hope you beat him. Never heard of him. Well, I'm up a little bit right now. LT, you never know. LT versus Favre. You never know with LT. Well, it depends on how his toe is. Yeah. Bryant Westbrook, if you're a fantasy football player, not so good. Injured his ankle. He's going to have an MRI today, and that's not good anytime you're having any kind of x-rays. What about Benjamin Roethlisberger? Big Ben already went into the game with a hurt shoulder and injured his wrist towards the end of the game, so he's really banged up.
On an extremely similar note, I cut my toe open yesterday. Oh, my gosh. Are you okay? It was almost exactly the same. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Almost exactly the same. Did you have the team doctor look at it? Yeah. Yeah? What did he say? Well, her. Her name's Rebecca. Oh, okay. And she took a look at it. Yeah, yeah. And she, you know, put some stuff on there, some ointment. And then she threw some bandages on it. Yeah. That hurt. On a similar note, Tango puked all over Logan this weekend. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it was tough. Everything okay? It was tough. Well, Logan was a little crunchy for a while. That is disgusting. Crunchy. Did you claim the cat? It was like, I'm so mad we didn't have a video camera. It was one of those moments that was so funny. It sounds hysterical. It does not sound. Hysterical. So gross. Well, you can tell when Tango's going to vomit because his sides start to, like, convulse. Me too. Me too. That's the way I am. He's vomiting. He's very sensitive. He's very sensitive. Oh, my God. So he was on the, like, he was on one of the bottom steps on our stairs, and we have newer carpet on the stairs, but downstairs is like.
grody carpet that we're going to rip up soon. And so the boo didn't like know what to do because there wasn't enough time to go get something. So he just picked a bucket. Yeah. Well, normally what we do is we put like paper towels around him. Are you serious? You guys see your cat start to do throw up convulsives and you go and run and grab paper towels. Paper towels or magazines. Yeah. Why not outside? Pull them over the toilet. He's an indoor cat. Hold him over the toilet. That's a great idea. So Tango's on some of the bottom steps, but the boo wants to get him down, you know, on the bottom floor to puke on the yucky carpet. So as he, like, lifts him up, and, of course, Logan starts trotting up because he's like, hey, what's all the commotion? What's everybody doing? As the boo lifts Tango up midair, he just... Projectile. Projectile and Logan standing right there all over the back of Logan. It does not sound. If I submitted that to America's Funniest Home Videos, I would win. Terry Bradshaw, what do you think of the tango? That is not funny. I would win me some money for that video. Terry Bradshaw, I agree with you.
But it's very similar to what you guys are talking about. Yeah. For sure. George Michael was arrested in a London bathroom. Really? Yeah, we heard that like six years ago. Nope, nope, nope. Totally different. This is new. Yes, this happened on Friday, and I guess the bathroom attendant was a little... The bathroom attendant? Yeah, I don't know what kind of bathroom... Is this the bathroom attendant? Was a little suspicious by whatever George Michael was doing in there. Really? Yeah. And so called the cops. The cops came. Is there only two things you can be doing? Yeah. There should only be two things that you're doing. Well, yeah. So the cops were called, and a search of George Michael turned up both a Class A and a Class C drug. That's the way they categorize things over there on the other side of the pond. And so he was arrested, but then he was released after just getting basically a warning. But he was found. He had to dance his way out of it. Class A and a Class C drug in the bathroom. How many times? Right? He should stay out of those things. Yeah, I would just stop going to the bathroom. I'd hold it. Until I got home. The Yankees won their final game at Yankee Stadium. Yay!
They beat Baltimore 7-3. Forget about it. It is. I think that's some big stuff. We're done. 5-7-0, 1-0-5-3. 5-7-0, 1-0-5-3. Crazy Thunderbolt crash. Crazy. Disintegrated. What? During a qualifying run. No. And the drivers... Unhurt. He was on the Today Show this morning. No. Yeah, this video, it's like now become a viral video. It's on the local news, of course, but on the national news, too. And you just see this boat just go into a gabillion different pieces. Wow. At the time of the crash. The boat was going 145 miles an hour. And boom, goes the dynamite. Wow. Yeah, and so they pulled him out of the water immediately. They say about 20 seconds after it happened, they had pulled the guy out of the water, and they took him over to an ambulance, but he was fine and walked away. That stuff happens all the time. Dude. Those things are built crazy. Yeah, like, I would love to know what it is they put them in to keep them safe, because they do keep them safe. Like these little pods.
Everything around it is built so super light so they can go super fast. But once those things go on its side and starts to disintegrate, it's over. But those pods stay together somehow. They're reinforced. I wonder what it's like to be on that ride. No, thank you. I will pass. In a way, if you're strapped in safely, it kind of sounds fun. No, it does not, Mike. In a way, yeah. I disagree. Why, Sky? You're safe. You're not going to get hurt. What part of that is fun? The part where you're like on a wild ride, the exhilaration of being kind of like thrown in the air, but you're safe. Jostled about. Jostled about? I don't. Yep, I'm flying through the air. This is not good. That's right. Or if you're from Canada, you're being jostled a boot. A boot. 5701053, the beginning and end of every show. We do an open. phone segment so you can call in about anything you'd like so call us right now what he just pushed the plate of cupcakes right into in front of rob
Yeah, you missed it earlier. Rob, like, took a little bite of a cupcake, and we're about to go on the air. And he goes, you have to put it all in your mouth right now. And Rob chefs the whole thing. Like, hey, little brother, you don't have to do everything your big brother says. Yes, he does. I mean, one bite, the whole cupcake. It's the wise choice. 570-1053. Call us right now. P1 Scene, what's up? Hey, good show today, guys. Thank you, man. Hey, I just was wondering if you'd be able to play that P.O.D. song to get a type of Chargers song. Yeah, sure. We could do that. Will you put it up for me? What did I say? What did I say? What did I say? What are you asking? Put it up, Fart. I said we put it up, Fart. Yeah, yeah, that's right. Hey, Fart, can you put it up? Don't, don't, don't. Fart, how quickly can we have that up? Fart, get that up. How about we not and how about we don't? Hey, Fart, we got to... That's going to stop right this second. Okay. We're going to put the kibosh...
You want to put that up? What's the ETA, fart? See, I thought you had plugged that up. That's the funniest thing ever. You were like, we need to stop all of you right now. Is it up yet, fart? I mean, it's up. It is up. Okay, well, thank you, fart. Good job, well done, fart. Not my name. I want to hear that. I want to hear what it is. What was I thinking? What was I trying to get together? Her name. P1 Scooby is on the line. What's up? Hey, I wanted to ask Eddie. I picked up Chancey Stuckey for my fantasy football team. Do you think that's a good pick? No. Chancey Stuckey? Yeah, he's the Jets' third receiver. Aye, aye, aye. He loves him. I don't know, man. I mean, he's at a couple of games. I don't know that it's going to last. Yeah. But, yeah. I mean, it depends what else is out there, you know? How far have you gotten on your Force game? I'm on... I don't know. They're not really levels. Like the second mission, I guess. Oh, right. Yeah. I haven't played it that much. Man, I guess the Force is not with you. Well, take it easy, guys.
All right, Scoop, thank you. All right, later. We'll see you. Some people work. Let's see. P1300 is on the line. Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's up, dude? I was going to say whoever's idea was to get Sky to do that part in Jerry Maguire was a genius. That was awesome. Fantastic. It was fantastic. No, it wasn't. Oh, my God. She is so into it, you know? Calm it down, everyone. She really wants people to show her the money. All right. P1 Sanjaya is on the line. What's up, Sanjaya? What's going on, brother? What's up, dude? I said I let Sky know I'll come back from Disneyland up here in Anniham this weekend. There you go. And pass by the Honey Bay can store right here in Irvine. There you go, Sky. Would you like that?
Oh, well, I don't, I don't, I mean, we have one in the Dito, Sanjaya. I'm a big fan of him. If you ever want to go out for a drive, you know, go up the 5 North, it's on your right-hand side, Lake Drive. Oh, there you go. I'll write that down. Yeah, I got that in my book. Thanks. Thank you, Sanjaya. Did you want to hear yourself say that? Yes, yes, I do. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Straight below the anthem. Let me see. Yeah, sure, we could do that. Will you put it up far? What was I? Yeah, sure. We could do that. Will you put it up, Fart? Put it up, Fart. You should be silent, Fart. All right, we got to get out of here. Yeah, Moisture doesn't look so bad now, does it? The San Diego Chargers play football on this radio station, so be listening to it today. Eddie is on the pregame show.
We'll be back tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out.
