Daily Audio 2008KIOZRock 105.3
The Mikey Show broadcast combined sports discussion (Chargers victory over the Jets, Nate Kading's controversial field goal attempt with Norv Turner's timeout), personal segments (Mikey's cooking grievances, Eddie's camping parents, Ashley's dog "eight little presents"), and recurring bits like the accidental "Ashley Fart" call and the Wuss Rock Jukebox competition where P1 Buckley won Metallica tickets; the host also welcomed financial expert George Chamberlain to explain the mortgage crisis, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac bailout plans, and first-time homebuyer tax credits, while later segments covered the Travis Barker and DJ AM plane crash updates, the fifth annual 28-hour marathon promotion, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee debates, and Dane Cook's very public eviction fight citing creative inspiration from John Belushi and Steve Martin's former apartment.
What happened, in order
Chargers Win & Crazy Fan
Eddie recounts a Chargers win over the Jets 48-29, sitting next to a miserable Charger fan who freaked at every LT gain and celebrated poorly when Quentin Jammer got caught from behind on a fumble return.
Grilling & Camping Stories
Host Mikey talks cooking and grilling; Eddie shares how his parents are professional tailgaters/campers who bring everything including wood, and Skye discusses hydrangeas and Mexican sage in Escondido.
Ashley's Doggy Mishaps
Ashley's dog left eight presents around the house—six of one type and two of another, described as "brownies" but actually stew-like, prompting jokes about greenies and a call from the dog trainer trainer Sean.
Boston Rob & Umpire Leg
Boston Rob homie Eddie discusses a baseball game where Jeff Bailey hit a ball off the umpire's leg for a foul drop, costing the game; the crew establishes "disgusting" as their safe word and laughs about it.
Accidental Ashley Fart
Mikey accidentally called Ashley "Fart" on air, played a clip where he asks "Will you put it up, Fart?" repeatedly; off-air, Rob, Zeth and Skye laughed about it, and it became a running bit.
Cloris Leachman Judge Moment
Recalling Cloris Leachman's 82-year-old appearance where she threw her leg up on the judge's desk, squished her cleavage, was bleeped for moving into the camera, and judge told her to put it away.
Nate Kading Field Goal Confusion
A caller asks about a minute before game end when Nate Kading went for a field goal; Norv Turner called a timeout seemingly about guys on the field, kicked it after timeout, it went through, causing confusion.
Wuss Rock Jukebox & Buckley
The crew plays Wuss Rock Jukebox where a guy calls in to sing a wuss rock song after a clip cuts; P1 Buckley attempts it, winning Metallica tickets, with Jim Rome popping in for commentary.
Travis Barker Plane Crash
NTSB's Debbie Herzman updates on Travis Barker and DJ AM being seriously injured in a Friday night plane crash at Palomar Airport, both with second/third-degree burns, families thanking fans for prayers, and privacy requ
28-Hour Marathon Promotion
Mikey announces the fifth annual 28-hour marathon on Wednesday Oct 8, no music or commercials for 28 straight hours, Eddie having scheduled 48 hours of material, encouraging listeners to tell friends to tune in.

It is 6-0-6. Because of rumors that she was trying to get herself fired, Miley Cyrus issued a statement yesterday saying that she is fully committed to Hannah Montana. It was another wild one last night, but the Chargers... Here comes Phillips. He can't get there. Far backpedals. Fires. It's going to be intercepted. Win of the season, beating the Jets 48-29. Eddie, you were there? Yep. Unfortunately, Eddie had to sit by one of the worst fans ever. Oh. As he was there. It was crazy, man. I've never experienced anything like this. And I was sitting with B-Dub, and we were both just in awe of this guy. Like, nothing was going to make this guy happy. He hated, I mean, he's a Charger fan, but he hated everything they did. Really? Like, I mean, you know, like, LT was two-yard gains, and he would freak. Like, oh, come on! And we're like, wow!
And then, you know, when Quentin Jammer picked up the fumble and was running towards the end zone and got caught from behind. Right. You know, the Chargers got the ball. Yeah. How did you get caught? Like, are you kidding me? And we're all like. Whoa. What's going to make him happy? Yeah, he just ran that thing back. And when they did score, he looked miserable, like he was mad. Really? I couldn't believe it, man. I finally had enough. Yeah, because it was making me mad. Yeah, because when you score, there's nothing for the guy to get mad about. He's like, oh, man, I can't complain. What am I supposed to do? It was crazy, man. That's nuts. Aw, dude. Man, was that fun to watch last night? Oh, crazy first quarter. I didn't see, because I had to go to bed, so I didn't see final score. What was the final score? 48 to 29. Yeah. It could have been worse. The Chargers, I think, kind of let up on the gas at the end and let them score a couple of times. Yeah. Otherwise, it would have been worse than that, I think. Really? Yeah. Wow. Now, Eddie, do you think this is what we'll see? You know, I felt like this is what the Chargers' defense was last year. Turnovers. You know, they did stuff that they did last year. They looked outstanding. You know, defensively, I didn't like.
Letting up on the gas pedal at the end of the game. Because, you know, you never want to let team score. It kind of made me feel a little weird. But great game. And, yeah, I hope we see. I mean, that offense. I mean, you know, three games in a row now. I mean, over 30-some points. You have Phillip Rivers and Antonio Gates. Yeah, I actually have Gates in both of my leagues. Really? And so him scoring was awesome. And Rivers has been. Him and Cutler have been outstanding. They look like those guys look when they're just, you know. He looks great. He really does. I had this weird feeling going into the season that he was going to have a big year. I took him earlier than I really should have, but I just had that feeling. Sometimes you just get those feelings. Yeah, I'm stoked. You were telling us that you were hearing stuff out of camp, that you were right, and they were. Mad. Yeah, they played with a little bit of a chip on their shoulder. And, yeah, it was good to see. And I hope they continue this and just keep going like that because, you know, this is the part of the schedule where they really kind of need to pad some wins. You got Oakland next week, Miami after that, and then New England here. Yeah. You know, which that New England game is a lot different than it was at the beginning of the season. Let's introduce everybody and get the phone lines ringing. Excuse me. Oh. Talk that throat.
Okay. Oh, well, yeah. A little cocky throat is what they call it. It's a technical term. It's an industry term. It's an industry term. Yeah, yeah. Medical term. 701053 is the number. And you can text us as well. 35253 is the text number. So we would love to hear from you. My name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am. And let's see. I really like to cook. And I've really gotten into it. I like to grill. I like to cook. I enjoy it. I don't get to see as much food TV as I used to, but I do, and that is a big thing about me. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy, and he knows a lot about sports. His favorite team is the 49ers and grew up in the Bay Area, and your parents had season tickets, so you got to go to a lot of games. So I was there during the Montana, Rice, Steve Young era, and it was just awesome. Awesome to see. Eddie's parents I would call professional tailgaters and professional campers. Yeah, that is true. They do pretty right. Above and beyond, really. I mean, it's kind of outrageous what they do, especially camping. Camping, it's like you don't really leave home. Right. They bring everything. I don't know how they do it, but it's impressive. It's cool. Yeah. Because the first thing you have to do is go get wood. Your favorite part. Well, yeah. I mean, if you're wearing a...
A white t-shirt. You know what I mean? Didn't work out so well. Yeah, Mike, why'd you wear to go gather wood? You shouldn't bring anything white camping just in general. No, that's true. You should probably just stick with jeans and black. That would be a good idea. Skye is our news girl. And she also enjoys going out in the yard and doing stuff. And were you doing anything with that? Are you good to go? Well, yeah. We did a lot. Certain plants enjoy Escondido, and certain plants do not enjoy the sun of Escondido. Oh, really? Yeah. What does not? Well, the hydrangeas are having a bit of an issue. They need a lot. And then we bought some kind of... moisture loving things because I thought this one area was shady like canna and stuff like that and they're not too happy either. But Mexican sage does really well. We have learned. That's right. I'm doing those hydrangeas too. Yeah. For Rebecca because she likes them. Yeah, they give off beautiful flowers. They got to have an afternoon shade. Yeah. I'm learning all this stuff. Oh yeah, they burn up. Sean is our sound effects, sound effects, sound effects guy. Yeah.
And he has just a little bit of the salt and pepper tips right on the top. Just right on the top. I like that. And Sean cuts his own hair. I like doing that. And he is a very tall guy and very odd. He's an odd, oddball. And 38 years old, married to a wonderful gal. Whoa, my wife is the... That's right, her name is Dina. I love that woman. That's right. She does traffic for a living. She does like the traffic in the Bay Area on the radio. She does what Rick Lawrence does. Ironically enough, her air name is Rick Lawrence. Yeah, it is ironic. Ashley is our assistant producer. She's blonde. She's got bangs. Perfectly dispersed, as she says. She has a dog. The dog all out of the ugly. Oh, come on. Actually hit a couple branches two and three times. Yeah, well. There's Sammy. What are you doing, you? Wait till I tell you about Sammy later. What Sammy did for our girl. Poor baby. To improve the quality of Ashley's life. Oh, no. She left her little presents all throughout the house. Let's see.
She left her eight little presents. Eight. She left six presents that were of one type, and she left two presents that were of a... Uh-uh. Brownies? Nope. No, they weren't that type of presents. They were not. Nope. She didn't leave her brownies. Well, wait a minute. In a way... In a way... Brownies. You know what I'm saying? Oh, you would not call them brownies? Uh-uh. You'd call them greenies? We're describing them. Call them, like, stew. Okay, thank you. That was unnecessary. I'm just trying to help you understand. Six o'clock in the morning. That crystallized that thought, didn't it? Yeah. I think we all got the pictures. Oh, yeah. We'll see you later. Oh, my. You know, one thing working in her favor, Mike, is that she's a professional dog trainer. That is true. She'll have no problem correcting this aberrant behavior. That's right, trainer. Thank you, Sean. A couple days, she won't be doing that anymore. Oh, sure. Never do it again. That's right. Oh, yeah.
Boston Rob. He is a singer, songwriter, professional friend of Eddie's, I think is another good way to describe it. We're homies. They're homies. They are homies. It's our business. And there is a lot of fist bumping going on. And Rob is a big fan of the Boston Red Sox. Yeah. There was, Jeff Bailey was up at bat. We had bases juiced, you know. We're down by one. And he hits this, like, down the line. It looks like it could be foul. He calls it fair, and it goes off his leg and just drops for the third baseman. And basically, essentially, kind of cost us the game. But... It went off the umpire's leg? Yeah, dude. And instead of, like, going down the line, it hit fair, and it hit his leg and, like, dropped right... Behind the third base. Instead of going like, you know, Fenway Park has kind of a weird left field where the ball can just get lost for a little bit. So, Jason. That's at least two runs. All the people were saying. That's what everyone is saying. Everyone was saying. Cost them two runs. They lost. Well, that's okay. They have six games left. They'll be fine. They'll be fine. They can win one within these. I get myself out of, like, being weird.
How are you going to do that? I just talked about it. That's a start. That's a big start. Congratulations. We should all be very proud. What do you think? World Series? Baby steps. I'm going to leave a present. I'm going to leave a present. Don't say that. Disgusting. Hey, guys. Don't say that. It's not cool. It's not funny. That's our safe word, guys. That's our safe word. That's our safe word. Hey, quit making stew of it. Don't say that. Oh, yeah. Oh, God. That's a way to get around it. And then there is www.SirRooseveltZethionOates, the 3rd, Jr., Esquire, MD, DD, and CEO.com. Patent pending. Wow. Rosie. That's right. That's something else. That dude is tall, man. He's like, what, 6'3", Seth? Yeah. And he is a very wise man. He's 23. Good friend of ours, and he does the phone screening duties. So he's over there talking to you. And you can call us at 5700. Talk about anything you want.
I accidentally called Ashley Fart at the end of the show yesterday. Yeah, you did. I don't know what I was trying to go for. Please play the clip so everyone knows what you're talking about. All right. This is what I set up on my audio wall so that I can, you know, I have this computer screen and it's got all these little clips on it. I was trying to get her to put something up there for me and this is what came out. Yeah, sure. We could do that. Will you put it up, Fart? And then, like, after the show ended and we're off the air, like, outside smoking a cigarette, me, Rob and Zeth, and Skye comes out to hang out. Yeah. Everybody, well, not Skye, but Rob and Zeth. Fart. Fart. Fart. And that's fart. Fart. Fart. It was a mistake. It was a mistake. Yeah, I misspoke. Yeah, sure. We could do that. Will you put it up? Fart. Right? Wow. Hey, what up there, Bart? That's awesome. Hey, Bart. Let's take some phone calls. P1 Big Shot's on the line. Hey, what's going on? What's up, dude? Hey, tell everybody what a P1 is. P1 is someone that turns down the radio, exclusive listener, and tries to move people to the Mikey Show. That's it, dude. That is it, bro.
Thank you. That's it. What's going on, dude? Not much, man. How are you guys doing this morning? Good. All right. I wanted to ask the Oracle last night. Go ahead. Go ahead. You know, I'm confused as to who's in and who's out as far as injuries. I know Chris Hardwick, our center, is out. Nick Hardwick. Nick Hardwick, I'm sorry. Who else on the D is out? What's causing this breakdown of defense? Honestly, I think that the defense is really missing a guy you may have heard of. His name's Sean Merriman. Who's that? He's an NFL player. The outside linebacker. Not being able to put pressure on the quarterback is humongous. You saw a couple times last night Brett Favre having... tons of time, and any of those guys have a lot of time. Any NFL quarterback can pick you up. It really hurts the defense, and not having Stephen Cooper for the first four games has hurt as well. Yeah, Stephen Cooper. He's been out with a four-game suspension, and once he comes back, I think you're going to see a big difference. There you go, dude. I think after that, you know, we got a semi-solid D, and I think we're going all the way. Hey, man, they looked good last night, right? Absolutely.
Right on, man. Say hi to fart for me. That's not a good word, fart. That's right. Yeah, sure. We could do that. Will you put it up, fart? Wow. P1 Brent is on the line. Mikey, I love the show. I just want to get right to the point. I know the new season for TV is coming out. I know you guys kind of do a little bit on what your show is, what you like. But I wanted to see if we could do, like, kind of a rundown of everybody. And I know, Mike, he goes to bed early. The DVR, the TiVo thing, has kind of taken over my life. Yeah. I'm watching five, six, eight hours of TV a night sometimes. Holy moly. Oh, wow. Talk shows. Nice. Conan O'Brien and the whole bit. So I'd just love to hear what you guys think of the last year because a lot of shows got canceled from the strike. But love to hear what you guys think. looking pretty damn good. Yeah, let's take a couple. Let's take Eddie and Sky and see where you guys are on that. Eddie, what do you got, too? Yeah, I really am into that new show, Fringe. I think it's really cool. What else am I watching? New season with Dancing with the Stars has begun. Oh, my gosh. When did that start? Last night. Oh, my gosh. Wow, Cloris Leachman.
The last person I saw was Maurice Green and I fell asleep. Come on, Cloris Leachman. Early 90s. Early 90s, right? 82, I think. 82? Wow. Like, she was up on the judge's desk, and she was wearing this kind of revealing top, and she was, like, squishing her cleave together, and the judge at one point even said to her, like, honey, put it away. Oh, wow. And then I think at one point, I was kind of falling in and out of sleep. She, like, throws her leg up on the judge's, like, and then backstage when they try and do the interview with her while they're waiting for the score, she's, like, moving back and forth, like up into the camera, back away from the camera. She got bleeped last night. It was a mess. 80, how old? I think 82 is what they said. Listen to this. Cut 41. Oh, wait a minute. I'm sorry. That's okay. No, no, I'll do it. I'll do it. I forgot. I just have to go out the window because Clara's coming for a second.
You are definitely having a good time tonight, but let's get your scores because we've got to get down the business. Let's watch them. Ladies and gentlemen, the judges' scores. Carrie Ann in five. That was the movie. But, of course, you still need to vote for her if you want to see her. We did it so you can fan yourself. All right. Take it, Tom. Take it. And people wonder why I love live television. Dude. Like a nutball. Out of anyone. That's insane. Yeah. She was, like, crazy. They must have, like, they must have had her come in for a tryout and realize, oh, she's nuts. She's perfect. We got to put her on. She's crazy. The Bob Saget roast. I mean, she was out of control on that. Yeah. I mean, just filthy and blue and, you know. No way. Oh, yeah. At one point.
Stamos comes over in seconds. No, they did not. No, they did not. Oh, that's so creepy. Where is she from? Like, who is she? She's a comedian. An old-time comedian. And she was also in some movies. Like, wasn't she in Young Frankenstein? A lot of Mel Brooks movies. High Anxiety, Young Frankenstein. She is something else. Yeah, and then Jeff with the stars. He got poked in the eye by his partner and had to wear an eye patch last night. Are you serious? Yeah. That's normal. Yeah. Oh, wow. It's like the show. It was crazy. Let's see. Very funny, but I have to say that nothing beats Skye saying, show me the money. Oh, yeah. That's very true. Just calm down. Love you guys. Keep up the great work. That's P1 Nate. Yeah. You have to use the one where I'm screaming. Show me. The money. Wow. Wow. Done and done. Wow. Happy to oblige. Okay. All right. Show the money. I'm so dumb. Asking you shall receive. Mikey, yesterday I laughed for 20 straight minutes when you accidentally called Ashley Fart. It's P1 too funny. Yeah, sure. We could do that.
I don't even know what I was trying to like. I was laughing so hard I didn't, I don't even remember. Did she respond to that? Like, is that? Oh, my God. I didn't catch that you had said it because I was like, you know, and then someone else had heard that you said it. And then everyone started laughing. I was kind of trying to ignore it, I think, because I didn't really like, I didn't really register. That's funny. You called me that. For me, Ashley. I think so, too. I think so, too. Combined it all together. I don't think so. It's an acronym. It's an acronym. It's an acronym. I was trying to use acronyms to communicate. Just save some time. Eddie, there is a Buffalo Bills fan in the P1 Army. And we hear from this guy every once in a while. He just wants information on the Bills. And he wrote a text message. 3-0 Bills are playoff material. Absolutely. Yeah. I mean, their defense is really solid, and they have a good, solid running game with Marshawn Lynch. Trent Edwards looks like he's the real deal. I mean, he's kind of managing the game, not doing any kind of victories. So, yeah, I think with the Patriots being down this year, for sure, I think the Bills have a chance. Hey, a lot of questions coming in, sports-related. This guy's got a question for the Oracle. P1J. What's up, dude? Hey, I just had a question for Eddie when I was watching the game yesterday.
And it was about a minute, I don't know, a minute and a half or two minutes before the game was about to end. And Nate Kading went for that field goal. And they called it if it was Nate Kading or if it was the Cyphers and how North Turner got all in Kading's face and was all mad at him. You know, I just didn't know. Was it something necessary to get that Eddie's take on that? That has to be described better because I'm not really sure what we're talking about. It was a really weird situation. Towards the end of the game, they were kicking a field goal. Actually, Norv Turner called the timeout and was very upset about something. And my guess is maybe there wasn't enough guys on the field, something like that. Because, you know, it's usually either the kicker or the holder's responsibility to make sure everybody's, you know, all lined up correctly before the guest. Because, I mean, they were up by... 20 points. I don't know why Norv Turner would be that mad. So was it a situation where they're like on the field, about to kick a field goal, whistle blows, timeout? Timeout. He kicks it. It goes through. But a timeout was already called. They took the timeout. He kicked it again. He went through. It was fine. You can hear Nate Kading still in the background there. I'm not sure if he's still upset or what the deal is. But yeah, I guess Norv got that mad. It was kind of strange. Hey, dude, thanks for the call, man.

Back to the Mikey Show. Thank each and every one of you. You make my days awesome. Featuring. Which for me is like eating cookies. Eddie. I love to gamble. I love playing poker. I love all these things. Sky. I'm extremely responsible when it comes to money. Sean. Well, you know what? I'm a nonconformist. Boston Rock. You guys know that if I don't write stuff on my head. Evidently I talk to get attention. Save that one. I will not. You can't make me. On Rock 105.3. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It is 640. More than 1,000 people last night about the proposed toll road extension through San Onofre State Beach. This is a little bit of a surprise. Lane Kiffin is still the head coach of the Raiders. Says, yeah, nobody talked to me about it. I'm just going to keep plugging along. Wow. So brutal. Can you imagine that?
Like yesterday, he probably didn't even do any work because he just kept thinking, well, this phone's going to ring any second. What's the point? Well, everybody says I'm fired, but I guess I'm not. That is crazy. Oh. Shawnee, oh boy, I just sent you. And when you get it, if you could put it on MikeyShow.com, that'd be cool. Dude, I want to hear the audio. Yeah. I wonder if there is. Like his break, him doing the break? It's crazy. It's crazy. I sent it to all of us here on the show, and I also sent it to Sean. And a guy on the air. Behind him, something catches on fire and it then blows up into a fire. Yeah, it looked like it was because it's kind of like a black and white secure. It started in a trash can. Right. But then it starts to spread to all the equipment and stuff. It's nuts. Right. And this guy just stays on the air. Yeah. It's doing his business. It is.
He doesn't sign up. He's doing the break. Yeah, he's talking in the microphone as he's trying to kick out the fire with his foot. It's crazy. Yeah, it's crazy. It's crazy. Oh, my gosh. Let's see. George Chamberlain is in the studio with us. Hey, guys. Good to see you, George. Good morning. Excited about this because I do not know anything about money. Okay. I would like to. Like the rest of us. Like the rest of us. But I find these times that we're in very confusing. I'm hearing Mac. Mac Fanny? No, you got it right. Fanny Mac? No, it's Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac. Fanny Mae, Freddie Mac. Then there's Sally Mae and Jenny Mae. They're all over the place, yeah. And I don't know what any of this stuff means. And so I thought, you know what? We'll have George in and George will help us to understand and kind of break it down for us a little bit.
You know, it all comes back. You boil it right. Nasty, ugly problems in the mortgage market. And all the things we talked about, you know, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, those are big mortgage lenders. Those are quasi-government agencies that were lending money through private to people. And we got out of control. We had these people, if you could fog a mirror, you could get a loan. I mean, it was as simple as that. And a lot of bad loans were made. These two companies were given a mandate by Congress to get as many people in our country. Oh, wow. And while the concept seems good, in reality, there were a lot of people owning homes that shouldn't own a home. Then you had the people in there that were buying homes sight unseen. to own them for a couple of months, flip them, and make a big fortune, okay? And then they pulled the plug on the thing. It started coming down. And so it's like a sinkhole. It just started collapsing on itself. And that's where we find ourselves. Now, most people who own a home today are pretty comfortable with it. They're making their mortgage payments. They're getting by, okay? Everything's okay. But now Congress gets involved with it. Now we've got all these hearings going on this week, and they're trying to put together this package.
Here's what they want to do. Real simple. This will be easy. I think it's pretty simple to plan, but it's going to get all messed up. I can guarantee you that. We don't do something here. Guys, the economy last week was on the brink. We were ready to... have a major crisis and i don't like to use the d word but we were getting real close if this had not if they had not stepped up and put this i mean that's really extreme for me to say that but but we were on the brink okay so what they're going to do is they're going to go to all these mortgage companies out there and say we're going to the government we the government we the people are going to buy all of your bad loans from you we're going to pay loans out there we will loan the loans See, the problem we've had now is a person, even a person with great credit, can't get a loan today because there's such a log jam there. And companies can't lend because they've got all this bad debt on their books. They're going to buy all the bad debt, take it away from lending again, and it's a great concept, okay? And ultimately, for taxpayers, it could be gargantuan because what they will do then is hold these loans as the housing market improves, and it will, they'll sell them and make money on these loans, okay?
So that's where we stand right now. Now the Congress is going to step in and they're going to mess the thing up. The law, believe it or not, was three pages long. Three simple little pages long. And by the time they get done with this, it'll be thousands of pages long. This thing long enough that it's going to get messed up. So it's almost like another branch of government for... Well, Treasury is going to be doing all of this. The Treasury Department will be doing all of this, but what they don't want to do is create a monster bureaucracy. You don't need a new one. We'll just use the one we got to take care of the situation. Guys, if it works, it will be wonderful. It really will be wonderful, and it could be the salvation of this thing. What will it look like if it works? What will it look like? What it will look like is that and other kinds of entities will be able to start lending money again. Okay. Money in motion is what makes this country go. And so money is not in motion anymore, so we've got to step up and get the money flowing again. And once that happens, a lot more restrictive, but there'll be loans out there. Right now, there just aren't any loans out there. So when you say much more restrictive, I'm thinking of the average listener right now between 18 and 34 years old. Okay. Their list is a homeowner right now.
Uh, maybe I don't really understand too much about this stuff, but I got a good job. You know, I work in construction or I work in whatever, and I would like to be a homeowner. Man, you are right on target. Absolutely. Absolutely. If you have, if you have good, and I would really encourage anybody to do this. If you haven't checked your credit, do it. You can, you can go to, uh, annualcreditreport.com and it doesn't cost you a nickel. You get all your credit reports. You can take a look at them and see where you stand. It's easy to do. Uh, get your credit cleaned up and, um, man. We're going to look back at this as one of the greatest opportunities in history to buy a home. Really? It's going to be staggering. I thought that's what we just went through, and that's what happened was that there were people buying homes that shouldn't be buying homes. Okay, now we're going to have a situation where you have to show that you can pay the loan back. Got it. Which is kind of a unique, crazy concept. I know. But that's what you're going to have to be able to do. Say you got a job, already $40,000, $50,000 in debt, you can go ahead and do it. Sky. I have a couple of questions regarding the housing thing. Like you said, it was going to be a little stricter. So I was hearing that it's pretty much now mandatory to have 20 percent like gone or the day down. Is that true? No, not at all. OK, the the government programs, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which still exist, they haven't gone away. They're just now under the control of the government. Require three percent down. Oh, OK. Yeah. And if you go to a housing finance agency, which is Cal, C-A-L-H-A.
C-A-L-H-F-A dot C-A dot G-O-V. They have tremendous programs to front you the money for the down payment. You don't even pay. Wow. Really? Yeah. And by the way, that's an incredible thing I didn't know. And if you have a question. For George Chamberlain, 570-1053. That's great. Sky, you got to. Okay, I got another one. Got another one. Okay. So I, and I, you know, you see all the headlines like Wall Street. Ah, everyone's freaking out. So, but like most people are, you know, hopefully most people. I have a 401k. Sure. Which I set up like eight years ago. Never look at. Don't touch. Don't know what's going on. Tinkering with that. Or should I just try and write it out? You have to write it out because you can't time the market. You know, you'll never pick up the Union Tribune or the Wall Street Journal and the headline will say, bull market starts tomorrow. You know, you don't know when it's going to happen. So you really have to be in the game. And that's what you do with a 401k and the wonderfulness about a 401k. And again, to your listeners out there, man, if you're not in your 401k, especially if the company matches your contribution, free money, get your rear end in longer.
For people, the best thing that helps investors out, hands down, is time. Never mind peaks and valleys in the market. Just invest your money. Let it go. It's going to do you well. Now, what I would suggest you do is make sure you do the stock market in your 401k. A lot of people think they do, but they don't because they just open up the account, start having money going in. When we work here, though, when we work here and we have a 401k, isn't the concept that, like, at your company, sort of hire a company that does all that for you and you're not really involved? No, not at all. They have an administrator to the plan, but the administrator doesn't make selections for you. What you have is a menu of mutual funds, and you have to make a choice from those mutual funds which ones. And, you know, like here, there is a matching contribution. So anybody that works here and that can participate should join, participate in the 401k, at least taking advantage of the free money they want to give you. Right. Okay, so do that. But people in age... That's the time you want to be investing aggressively. That's why you want to be buying the most aggressive investments you can, because you've got time on your side. So you go with good stock mutual funds in your 401k and let those babies go. And they're going to do great for you. But I have one question with that. And that is, okay, right now seems to be, well, at least I thought before you started telling me this, I thought that right now was a great time.
for people to be trying to buy a home that it was a buyer's market. Is that true? Absolutely true. Okay. Absolutely true. Now, if that is true of homes, is that also true of stocks? Let's say I'm the type of guy that would never get involved in the stock market. I'm like, hey, I don't know anything about that. Is now a good time to go find a money guy and a person that knows about stocks and bonds and try to get involved now? Yes and no. Number one, it is a great time to be investing in the stock market. You need to go hire some guy or gal to run your money for you. Investing is incredibly simple. Incredibly simple. But how do you know what to pick? Somebody in this room, Coca-Cola bottle in my hand. I'm guessing they drink Coca-Cola because they like Coca-Cola. They love it. They love it. They like it a lot. They've walked in the snow to get it. They've walked two miles in a blizzard actually to get it. I don't think that person does. Let me tell you my first thought when you said that. When you first said that.
Because, okay, I drink Starbucks every day. Okay. I don't own Starbucks stock. But the reason that I, and this is somebody that doesn't know anything about anything. You can explain. Okay. But I'm thinking to myself, oh, well, that's got to be so expensive because everybody's got to have Starbucks stock. I'm thinking I can't get in on that. And then I think to myself, isn't like when it's something that not very many people know about, but it's going to become really great. You know what I mean? Yeah, and actually Starbucks is, the stock of Starbucks is massively on sale right now. It is really cheap. It is really cheap. Go right now. They're getting a lot of competition from Mickey and a lot of other places. And so they're really under a lot of pressure. But Starbucks ain't going away. It's, you know, I'm there two, three times a day just like everybody else. So maybe now the getting's good. You know, is it going to go lower? Maybe. Is Starbucks going to be gone in 5, 10, 15 years? Uh-uh. It's going to be around and it's going to be a dominant player. I mean, they brought back the founder of the company and he's kicking butt and he's going to make the... I think the answer then to the question is, hey, what do you use? What does everybody use? Get stock in that product. That's the way you start out, man. That's the way I started out as an investor a long time ago. You know, you can buy, you can go invest in Coca-Cola directly from the broker. They have what is called the direct purchase plan.
About 400 or 500 companies out there do. They're all publicly traded and popular companies. If you've got $50, you can invest in Coke stock. Really? Wow. Interesting. And then, George, okay, about that. Okay, let's say I decide that I'm going to buy Coca-Cola and Starbucks stock. Okay. And let's say that I hold on to it for 15 to 20 years. Okay. Let's say I hold on to it longer. Okay. And I'm 65 or whatever. Let's say that I'm retiring and I realize I'm going to be entering soon. You know, I'm going to be entering into those twilight years. I'm like, well, hey, why did I buy this stuff? I eventually like use it. OK, a couple of ways. Number one, a stock like Coca-Cola throws off a real good dividend, real good dividend. They increase it almost every year. So by the time you buy it today, by the time you retire, the money you'll be. will probably be four to five times the amount you originally invested. You will be getting this massive flow. Real quick story. Let me give you a real quick story. A little company in the South went public back in 1970. You could have bought into the stock there. You could have bought 100 shares for $1,650. The company wanted to expand. They didn't want to borrow money, so they went public with a small piece of the company. You bought 100 shares back in 1970, which kind of fit into your time horizon you laid out there.
It has become 202,000 shares of stocks because of stock splits. The $1,650 you invested is now worth about $15 million. And every three months they send you a check for $50,000. Shut up. Walmart. Holy cow. You're telling me... That's crazy, George Chamberlain. I know it's crazy, but it's true. You're telling me... George Chamberlain. That if there was somebody in 1970 that bought stock in that for that much money, they are... For $50,000? In the dividend, yeah. It's unreal. What is our problems? And next year... See, next year... That's crazy. Next year, it will be more because ever since they went public, they've raised their dividend every year. Oh, my God. Well, most of my questions were answered. The one thing that I was trying to figure out is with all these problems and everybody being helped out by the government and things like that.
The one company that seems like they went and bought, was it Countrywide? Countrywide. Now they're trying to buy Merrill Lynch. Yeah. Why are they doing okay and everybody else not? Well, first of all, they didn't get as deep into the mortgage thing as some of the other companies did. And I tell you what, I battle with them over my bank statements sometimes like everybody else. But they seem to be a pretty well-run company. Buying Countrywide was a stroke of genius. they collect the fees on, the processing fees every month. They get paid to collect people's mortgages. And buying Merrill Lynch was a smart move. So if you have Countrywide as your loan provider, are you in a path as usual? Oh, no, it's all done. The bad stuff's over and done with. So you're good. Yeah. So them buying them out is actually a good thing. It's a very good thing. Yeah, very good thing. Yeah. George, this was about... A million times more. And I thought it was going to be pretty fascinating. We'll see you. I do too. Can we take a – are you due somewhere else? Can we take a break? There's people calling. I got every phone line. All right, listen. Let me do this. I got to run back to the other place and do a quick report, and I'll be back.
We'll keep them on hold. That's good. That'd be good. Thanks, guys. Yeah. Come back. Come back. Because we want to talk. We got more questions. Wasn't that great? It's unbelievable. It's interesting, man. And it's so, it's so, I love the way George explains it. Like, I understand what he's saying. Yeah. And radio or TV. And I don't know what the heck they're talking about. Dude, that thing that trips me out is like, you can go directly to the company and you don't have to get. I didn't know that. Like, you said the thing about Starbucks. And I go, you can't buy Starbucks. No. Like, that doesn't make sense. And it's like, you can. Because 30 years from now, it'll be giving you dividends that will really, you know, I mean. I want 15 million. And Boston Rob Inc. just went public. Did it go public? Yeah. And it's on sale. So anyone that wants to. I actually work as a stockbroker for you in Boston Rob Inc. And it's great. You work with the owner of the company and the manager. And, you know, I'm customer service, HR. So just shoot me an email and I'll tell you about the stock prices. It's bostonrob.org, isn't it? Got you to you. Slash TV. Texas at 35253. If you're on hold right now waiting to ask George Chamberlain a question, don't go away because, and the questions are great, man. When was the last time you checked the air pressure in your tires? Can't remember? Did you know even tires in good shape can lose about one pound of pressure a month? And underinflated tires make your engine work harder, lowering your mileage. But don't overinflate them. You can usually find the recommended tire pressure on a sticker located on... And speaking of air, air conditioning is not so hot for your car's mileage either. Whenever you turn it on, it puts an added strain on your engine.

Analyst? Is that a good way to say it, George? What would you... Money guy. I like it. Technical. I like it. And I'm not a broker. I'm not a financial planner. I just do my stuff on radio, TV, and print and stuff like that. Where did you learn this stuff? Roundabout story. I started in radio when I was in high school many, many years ago. And along the way, you know, decided, worked around and then decided to... I did a couple other things and somehow wound up going to work for Merrill Lynch. And I worked for Merrill Lynch for 15 years. 10, 12 years ago, I decided I don't want to do this anymore. I want to get back to what I love doing, and that's being a journalist. And so I kind of wedded the two together, the radio and finance together, and one thing led to another. That's cool. It's been really good. I'm a lucky guy. A lot of people calling in. They have questions. And so I want to get to some of these. We have P1 Greg on the line. Greg, are you there? Yeah, good morning. Good morning, Matt. Ask, what do you got for George? George, tell me a little bit more about the $7,500 tax credits. Federal government's off homebuyers through the end or middle of next year or something like that. Yeah, it's one of these weird things. It's the typical government work. What they did a couple months ago when they passed this Economic Housing Recovery Act, they included an incentive that they will...
give you a tax credit for $7,500. Now, in a lot of parts of this country, that's the down payment. That'll do the job in a lot of parts of this country, not in California and San Diego. But it's a step in the right direction. It's a loan. You've got to pay it back. So you do get the money, and it helps the first-time buyer buy the house, get some of the money for the down payment. But you have to pay it back over a period of time. Buy the house. Use the $7,500 tax credit. Let the house appreciate over 10 years. Refinance and pay the loan back with whatever you refinance. I think you have to pay it back over in a particular period of time. For some reason in my mind, it sticks five years. Okay. And did they, as part of that, because I know they were talking about doing that. Well, it used to be that there were two types of loan. One is... The term they use is a conforming loan. It's the traditional kind of loan. Anything over that amount becomes what they call a jumbo loan. And you pay a higher interest rate on that. And the number was unrealistically low for San Diego. In other words, almost every home ever bought or sold in San Diego County was above the conforming loan level, which meant you were going to pay more interest. So part of this was to raise that level, which they did 100 and something, which now pretty much works real well.
It's not permanent yet, but it's still part of it, and it probably will be made permanent. So that means borrowers here will be able to get... So is it good to refinance if you are in a jumbo and you would now be in a... Would be. Rates have come down a lot lately, so that would work out pretty good. Here's a good question from P1 Hutch. Are you there, Hutch? Yes, I am. Go ahead. Okay. Two years ago, I qualified for a construction loan. It was supposed to roll into a permanent financing. The loan I qualified is no longer existing. Yeah. What are they going to do with me? There's a lot of that going on. Yeah. I can't even get the bank to return my calls. No, no. They shuffle me around from person to person, voicemail to voicemail. What bank is it? GMAC. Yeah. It's tough out there. The lenders are pulling in everything they can right now. That's going to change. I honestly believe when we get this darn thing through now, that's going to change. But pretty lines of credit on their home. are going out to use it to do a project or to make their home better, a remodel or something, and they go to use the line of credit and it's gone. They're shutting them down. They're just shutting down lines of credit. Because they've said, well, we gave you a line of credit. Now your house is worth $500,000, so we can't really, the line of credit doesn't work. So, man, you just got to keep pressuring them. You got to go in and sit on the floor until they take care of you, really. You got to. Joe, have any questions? Yeah.
With the new administration coming in, whoever it may be, is this going to get better? Well, listen, I don't think it's fair for all the problems. They inherited a set of circumstances that were pretty damn ugly. I mean, you go back to September 11th. I hate to do that, but people do. I mean, you have to be realistic about this thing. Our economy shut down on September 11th, 2001, and trying to get that thing started again is not easy. So it's been a problem. It really doesn't come down at all to who's in the White House. It comes down to who's in control of Congress. If one party, and it likely would be the Democrats, gets 60% control of the House of Representatives, expect without any hesitancy at all that your taxes are going to go up, your income taxes are going to go up a whole lot more, you're going to have less money in your paycheck at the end of the day. Will that money be put to good use? I don't know. That's for us as the electing... And by the way, that's just the way to... Obama, McCain does make a bit of difference. We have a lot of calls coming in. P1, Lindsay, are you there? Yeah. Go ahead. Oh, hi, George. Hi, Lindsay. Hey, actually, my husband and I have been looking for a house for a while. Good. And now the market's good, but the only problem is that he works part-time because he's in school getting his teaching credential. Okay. And I'm a teacher right now. All the way, I'm not for sure if I'm going to keep my job next year because of education right now. Okay. What are your thoughts?
We have a six-month-old, too. All right. Congratulations. Thank you. I gave a website address out. I want you to go to, if you can, Lindsay, okay? C-A-L-H-F-A dot C-A dot G-O-V. Dot G-O-V, okay. That's the California Housing Finance Agency. I was talking about that and how they have these grants for first-time buyers. They have special financing deals for teachers. Oh, really? Yeah. And so go check that out. And and they'll they have all kinds of things to help you out. They've got they've got special loans. They've got one of the things that Cal A year mortgages. Now, you're not going to live in the house for 40 years, but with a 40 year mortgage, because you have a longer period of time to pay, your monthly payments are way down. Yeah. And so check out that and check out the programs they have there to help teachers. I did not know that. There you go. Okay. We have another good question from P1 Cecilia. Are you there, Cecilia? I'm here. Thanks. This is an interesting question. I've never heard of this. Maybe George has, and he can explain it to us. Go ahead. So my daughter has a little savings account for her, and all I've been hearing and reading about how I should invest into a 529, and I don't really understand what a 529 is and how it will help my daughter down the road.
No, don't do 529. No. Listen, a great deal of authority because as the grandfather to three beautiful grandchildren, you know, I have. Thank you. It's changed my life in ways that you can't even imagine. Sophia, I love you, baby. That's my four-year-old granddaughter. She is the best. She keeps me going. That's great. First of all, what is it and why do you not recommend it? Well, first of all, I was maybe a little quick to say that. 529 plan is a college savings plan. Money into these plans and the money grows tax deferred. And if you use the money to pay for college education, the interest in all the growth is tax free. So it's a great way to save money. OK, there's a better way to do it if you want to do it that way. C-O-V-E-R-D-E-L-L. The 529 plan is exclusively for college. The Coverdale, you can put money in there and you can and it grows again the same way tax free if used for educational purposes. But you can use a Coverdale to pay for all kinds of costs, whereas 529 is just colleges. So you want to send your kid to a private school or a parochial school, you can use that to pay the tuition. For the record, I am furiously taking notes. I know. I see you. I like that. And by the way, you could use that money not just for tuition, but let's say when the kid's getting ready to start school, they need a computer, you can use that money. So you're going to buy a computer with tax-free dollars. Wow.
Or when the kid's ready to go to college, you want to fly back airline tickets with that, okay? I mean, it's amazing what you can do with that. That's great. Okay, perfect. So is that what you would recommend at this point, her being in just a year? No. What I would encourage you to do, what I love about investing is making investing fun. There's something about this little baby. where where you are either let let's get let's just get really graphic about this okay there's probably a brand of diapers you really like right my own business so she uses cloth diapers for my business oh that's great oh congratulations i think i i think i know your business i think i know your business yeah um but but you know some people like huggies some people like uh whatever okay um maybe there's a formula you like or whatever the case okay Find out who makes that. You're going to find out it's usually a publicly traded company. If you like it, there's probably a lot of other moms and dads out there that like it, too, that are buying the stuff like crazy. Go out and invest in those companies. Remember, I took from the company by spending $50, $100 or something like that. Okay, perfect. And then that money's going to grow, and it's going to be the nest egg that pays for this little baby's college education. Awesome. Very nice. We have about $500 saved for her right now. More call. Okay. It's P1. Lewis, is it Lewis or Luis?
Luis. Luis, go ahead. All right. I wanted to give you some advice on my situation. I bought a starter home in 06. And, you know, I think it's going to deal with a pretty good amount of money more now. And we wanted to upgrade to our next house. Yeah. The way the housing market is, you know, we can't get rid of the house we have now. You know, and I wanted anything that we could do, you know, to upgrade to that next step in buying our next home. Well, you probably could. It depends on a lot of things. But rents have gone up so much because a lot of people have been leaving the homes they own and are renters now that there's a demand for good rental properties out there. Be able to rent the darn thing out and cover the nut on the mortgage and then go ahead and buy your next house. Take advantage of the weakness that there is in the housing market out there. So you might want to crunch the numbers on that and see if it works out. Talk to your lender as well. See if there's there that will kind of do a combo kind of deal for you and help you meet the deal with the cost of selling one house and buying another. and make it work for you. There's a lot of options to you. But the rental thing might be the best. And, you know, all of a sudden you turn into the next one. There you go. Hey, I appreciate it, man. Thank you for calling in, Luis. Thank you. Man.
George, can we have you back every week? Right. That would be awesome. I mean, you know. I'm not kidding. I would love to have you back every week. I learned in a very short period of time. My honor. My pleasure. Yeah, yeah. And we are just, oh man, I took a lot of notes. So thank you very much for coming in here. Let's plan on it. I'll be glad to do it again. Very cool. Thank you very much. By the way, I had mentioned earlier that a couple of people were seriously injured in a plane crash here in San Diego County. Never got around to telling you what's the deal with that. Well, like you said, yesterday a plane went down just after taking off from the Palomar Airport in Carlsbad. And it crashed into a ravine at the Crossings Golf Court. Pulled the two injured men out of the plane. They were taken to the hospital. They're still investigating the cause of that. But some witnesses did say that the engine didn't sound right when they heard the plane going over. Are the two guys... They're seriously good to recover. When we come back...

I don't want to overemphasize. I just want to make sure that you're getting it loud and clear, and that is that October the 8th is going to be a big day here on the Mikey Show. Wednesday, October the 8th, marks the fifth annual here? Yeah. Fifth annual? Yeah. 28-hour marathon to hospital. It is going to be big. Bigger this year than ever. Somebody asked me, I had lunch with the people at AIS last week. And somebody, do you actually plan 28 separate hours of material? Or do you just have like a few things that you want to do and you just kind of wing the rest? And I said, if my producer Eddie were here, I probably just felt nauseous at the asking of that question. Because Eddie schedules.
28 straight hours. Now, let me tell you something. This year, he scheduled, we're bringing up some other suggestions a few days later, and he's like, dude, I don't know where to put it. We literally have probably 48 hours worth of material. Should we just go? You don't want to just, okay. I thought that was an invitation. Definitely not. Well, we have a lot of material. I mean, multiple, multiple, multiple things per hour. We're doing big stuff. And so October the 8th, it's a Wednesday. We go on the air at 6 in the morning. No music, no commercials for 28 straight hours. Just us. You got friends that listen to other radio shows. Tell them about the Mikey show too. And say to them, go ahead, listen to whoever you listen to. And then when you're driving home that day, listen to the Mikey show. And you'll see why I like my show.
Which I can't tell you how. Listen to the Mikey show as a result of that. They say, yeah, I used to listen to this. I used to listen to this. But a friend said, I got to listen. And now I've been a P1 ever since. So October the 8th. Mikey, George was awesome. Please, please try to get him. Sky wanted to know if there's a good way to invest in gold or servants. That's P1 Requiem. I think that's a great question. Well, you know, I mean, he said invest in things that you love. Did you get your white manservant Ramsey from an actual business or did you go out and procure his services? Because I think there's a lot of people listening right now that are like, how do I make my money work in that way? It sounds like a good startup.
Did you peruse country clubs to find him? Yes. Polo matches. Yeah. Yacht club. Right. Was it the crisp pleats of his Dockers? Okay. That really kind of sold you on it. Yeah, that's what sold me, Mike. Dockers. Yeah. Mikey, what were the two savings for your kids called again? That's P1, I love me some blank. There's nothing written after me. Maybe he couldn't text something called a five twenty nine, which he does not suggest. And the message that I got from it is it certainly isn't bad, but that there's a better way to maximize that kind of savings. And it was called Coverdell Coverdell. And I said, wow. Hey, listen, I know of David Coverdell. He is the lead singer of Whitesnake. And I definitely never considered him. I definitely never considered him as somebody that can manage my money. But I have to. I lost everything. You did? Why? What happened? Have you seen Jamie Lee? No, no. That was a mistake. That was a mistake, bro. Well, if I cannot invest in Coverdell himself, I will try to invest in his pink ascot. Thank you.
Thank you. He can? That's not bad. Mikey, one of the best segments you guys have ever had. I would love to hear that. Every week, love you guys. That's P1 money, money, money. Awesome. Money, money, money. Oh, Sky. That's nice. P1 money. Money, money, money. Money, money, money. Show me the money. Oh, that's what it is. Screaming at him. Screaming? I was screaming that at George Chamberlain. Yeah, poor George. He walked in the door. He ran out of here. Yeah. He's like, ah, what is that woman screaming? Show me the money. By the way, Sean, you cannot refer to him as Boy George. That is not something that we will ever go to. His name is George Chamberlain. He's a money guy. But he is not Boy George. We respect that guy. That's right. That is not George. Yeah, that probably won't work. I don't mind. As I pet his head. Yeah, I wouldn't. I don't know. Yeah, that Starbucks thing, man. I never thought of it, but it's actually now the kids are drinking them, too. No. I walked by a Starbucks the other day. It was only like a strip mall. Yeah. And saw this lady walk out with her, couldn't have been more than 10-year-old little girl. And the little girl. Oh, no. And it wasn't hot chocolate because it was in that like clear. It was like an iced coffee. Right. And I just, I couldn't believe it. I'm like, really? Kids drink hay? Yeah, I don't know that that's good. I don't think that's a good idea. It can't be good for their health.
Growth. Have you guys been... No. Go ahead. Go ahead, Zeth. Were you saying something? Oh, no, that was me. What did you say, Rob? I don't see that big of a... Ten-year-olds pounding coffee? No. At all? You don't get that? All right. How do you feel about this? Go ahead. Go ahead. I was going to say they're always drinking soda, right? Yeah, that is true. It's not much of an effort. They're drinking Coke. So I got a question for you. Shoot. If that is okay. What's your thoughts on, because this is happening too, I want to know what everybody's thoughts on this is. 570-1053, our text number 35253. What about kids and energy drinks? Oh, no, no, no. I've definitely seen that. For sure. So bad. Are you serious? Mike, the other day I was going through our vending machine area here in the building and there was two of someone else's morning show, brought them in for a day. Two kids, and they're probably like nine years old at the oldest, and they were like staring, and one of the kids had money and was going to buy a soda or something, and the other kid was like, you should get a Red Bull. And he's like, I don't know that my mom would let me drink Red Bull all the time. Monster's my favorite, like bragging about, you know. Wow. I couldn't believe it. That's what Uncle Eddie got me started on, dude. Beto, I don't give you anything. I don't know what you're doing. Oh, no. Oh, no. Yeah, dude.
I started on the Red Bulls and quickly graduated to rock tar heroin. No, no. Okay, Beto. You mean rock star? Yeah, dude. No, no. Beto. You're young and confused. Rock star energy drink. Not cool. Beto. What a sad, sad tale I wove. What? What a long and lonesome path. Carved out for myself. Okay, you're 14. No, I'm not, dude. You are. You're just a kid. No, I'm not, dude. I'm 19 like that. You're not. 19. Okay. Oh, a physique if you were just a child. You're very scrawny. At 12, you would have that. You're hairless. I mean. Oh. That's because I have to shave it, dude. No, no. That's the only reason. No, no. You shave your chest. Dude, you can't be. What kind of competition are you in? Bodybuilding, dude. No, you're not. I believe him. Mr. Pencil USA? Really? Dude, I started out drinking energy drinks. Whoa, this feels so energizing. I wonder what cocaine would be. No, you did not. Is that what you went to? You know, Beto, it stunts your growth. Look at Rob.
That's true. That's a great point. He did. He likes them. I might have had some coffee growing up. You must have had an IV. I'm five and a quarter. And a quarter. It's not good. That's my nephew. His name's Beto. And he, man, he didn't get it. He thinks he's cool. That's right. He thinks that stuff's cool, but it's not. It's not. P1 Starstruck is on the line. Starstruck. Good, man. Go ahead. I was just calling about the energy drinks and how they have at 7-Eleven. For real? They got Monster, too. They have Monster Slurpees. And No Fear Slurpees? Aye, aye, aye. Okay, let's talk for a second. Let's talk that they're our parents. And I don't mean to say, you know, shame on you because, hey, everybody's got their own way that you do it. And, you know, I can't tell you. That's so messed up because who knows, man, I may be saying something to my son, Jake, that you'd be this way. But I just I do want to discuss it. I got it. We got to throw it out there. We got to discuss because how do you reconcile all of the stuff in there in a question? It's a little body. And here's the deal. If you have a choice, if you have a choice, why not a different one?
You know, other than that drink, why not just, you know, that's what I can't wrap my head around. But there's parents listening right now. And they're, you know, it could be as simple as this. I know this is going to sound crazy, but I really believe this. I think it could be as simple as this. I think that there may be parents listening right now. They provide their kid with the energy drinks and stuff. And they're hearing this right now. And they're maybe going, is that wrong? I shouldn't? Oh, totally. I shouldn't do that? Like because, you know, some people, you know, you're not raised no wife. She does it different than I would be doing it. And it's good. It's really good. Jake's little teeth, man. I was looking at his teeth the other day. They're all real white. And I say, you ever notice how white Jake's teeth are? Give him any sugar. So and if it were me, you know what I mean? It'd be so. I don't know. Let's go to McDonald's. I don't care. You know, I grew up eating like that. Yeah, you got a lot of choice out there. Well, you know, when I was growing up, I always remember coffee was for adults. Oh, definitely. And every once in a while, my dad would make me like a watered down coffee. And it was, you know, like a huge thing. Yeah, but I mean, that was so rare. You know, and now I think kids are going to Starbucks like on a daily basis.
And I just, that stigma isn't there anymore. And I'm like wondering, why is it not for adults anymore? When did it change? Because you'd even, you know, back starting like in the 90s with, you know, Beverly Hills 90210 and then, you know, with the OC in 2000 or whatever, you would, they would depict these high schools in them. In the high schools, yeah, you're right. You know, and the freshmen would go and, oh, my first day, I got to get a latte, you know. What? Yeah. P1 Leslie is on the line. Leslie, you there? Hi. Hi. How are you? Good. I'm on my way to work, and I'm like, oh, my gosh, I have to call in. My son last year, okay, he was 10. He was supposed to walk from the school to the Boys and Girls Club, but I found out that him and his friends were going to 7-Eleven, and he was working in the school line for the cafeteria and stealing money just to go over there to buy these monster drinks. Wow.
I found out from one of the members that he was doing that, so I had to repay the money. But when I asked him, you know, why are you drinking these? He said, I'm addicted. So I quit drinking monster drinks in the morning because he was seeing me do it. Wow. Yeah, and that could be it, too. You know, Mom and Dad, you know, what if the kid is like, hey, Mom, I see you drink coffee every day. I learned it from watching you. I learned it from watching you. Well, I mean, they have to understand that, you know, at a certain age, you can drink, you can smoke. You're a kid. Yeah, isn't it okay to say, hey, some things are for adults and some stuff's for kids? Oh, yeah. Some stuff's for adults and some stuff's for kids. Yeah, but you get to, I'm an adult. Hey, listen, mom drives, too. Yeah. Because there's not a regulation on kids buying energy drinks. That's true. Because what if a kid who doesn't know any better thinks it would be really cool and funny? To drink like seven of those right at the same time. Right. He could get hurt. He could do really bad. Mikey, some kids drink coffee and their parents let them because it's a stimulant like Ritalin. It gives kids with ADD and ADHD a chance to focus and to play. That's P1 Skeeter. That is terrible. I thought it was on that one. Cheap man's Ritalin. Yeah. Oh, no. Well, listen, it's not really a cheap man's Ritalin, if you ask me. Poor man's Ritalin.
It's expensive. That stuff's expensive. It costs a lot. Have the kids chew the coffee beans. Well, coming from a person that has ADD, and I have it, and I take a medication for it. So does Ashley. And I think that if you feel that your kid may... Yes. Dr. Starbucks. Yes, exactly. Don't treat them with Starbucks coffee. Nuh-uh. Yeah. Don't self-diagnose and go, I know what I'll do. I'll give him a tall mocha. There's another text message. Good morning, guys. My brother's 15. He's been drinking coffee since he was nine. He's addicted to energy drinks since about two years ago. When that was not enough of you guys, P1 Mermaid. That's a whole other conversation. Does drinking energy drinks lead to anything else? Hit for me, dude. Stop it. Seriously, dude. When I went to prison, dude, then everybody in there was doing all kinds of stuff and I got turned on to even more. That was a gateway drug. Yeah, dude. You were in prison at 14 years old. I was 18.
Now I'm 19. I did seven months in the big house. This is not the big house, by the way. Yeah, whatever. It's very sad. It's sad how you lie. Yes. Truly a sad tale of... A broken man overtaken by the darker side of steroids and hardcore drugs. You are watching way too much TV, kid. It's buffed, but it came at a price. Okay. What the heck are you talking about? Yes, I may be the envy of every woman alive. No, you're not. The envy of every woman. Every girl I know, dude, she walks up to me and she's like, Beto, please, please make me your wife. Oh, really? That's not envy. And I'm like, get out of here before I make you pregnant. That's so stupid. P1 Marcos is on the line. What's up, Mikey family? What's going on? You guys kind of touched on it a couple of times, along with the physical effects of jump-starting that serotonin gland. It's teaching these kids that you need an outside stimulant.
you know, to function. So I think more than just the physical effect is the mental effect on the necessity of things. Yeah, I agree. I agree. P1 Marissa. Yes. Go ahead. I actually teach preschool and we had a little boy who started like halfway through the year. He was out of control and we just thought, you know, maybe that was just found out that his dad was stopping at 7-Eleven every morning and getting him a monster. Oh, wow. Four-year-old boy. No way. Every day. No way. I know. It was crazy. We were like, what is off the walls? Sure. But, yeah, that's what it was. Yeah, don't give the kids energy drinks. Wow. Did you have a talk with the dad? Yeah. One of the teachers was like, you know what? That's horrible for him and his health. And, you know, it's not a good idea. Unaware? No, he was aware. He just got pissed off. Sorry, upset. Like, he was just upset. He was mad because, you know, he didn't want to be confronted, I guess, about it. Sure. And he thought he knew, like, it's like you look at the ingredients on those things. It's like, that's crazy. It's crazy for adults to drink that kind of stuff and give to a four-year-old. Yeah. So, yeah, no, he wasn't like, oh, thank you, good idea. No, he was really upset. That's right. All right, thank you for the call. See you, Uncle Eddie? No.
You and Uncle Rob should not have started me out down such a path. No, we did not do that. I might have done that. I'm sexy and hot, but... Please stop. But still, dude, it's tough to be like this sometimes. Even a clown cries. Okay, that's enough. 701053 is the phone number. Our text number is 35253. And I'm laid out. How fast are you going right now? Really? That fast? So what's your hurry? Did you know that if you slowed down just a little, you'd get better mileage? It's true. If you drove 55 miles per hour on the highway instead of 65 miles per hour, you could go about 30 to 60 more miles on a tank of gas. It's like the story of the tortoise and the hare. You know, slow and steady wins the race. And that also applies to city driving. When you're stopped at a traffic light and it turns green, avoid the jackrabbit start. Don't punch the gas. It's not a race. Just accelerate smoothly and gradually. And let's face it, you'll catch up to those other cars at the next light anyway. So remember, a heavy foot equals a light gas tank. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com.

It's me, Dave, from Fox, with Claudia on the phone, who is a Fox Tuesday superfan. Yeah, House and Friends, best night on TV. You know, last week, more than 26 million people watched along with you. Wow, I'm going to need a bigger couch. Yeah, so you're a nurse. Mm-hmm. Know any doctors like House? Oh, no. He's fun to watch, but I wouldn't want to work with him. Well, this week, it's a new house when one organ donor helps six recipients until five of them die. What happens to number six? Wait and see. Then it's an all-new fringe. And tonight, the team faces a bus full of passengers, frozen like statues. What?
I have been on some cold city buses, but that is ridiculous. It's not the temperature that froze them. I know. So tonight, it's TV's number one drama. How? Followed by TV's number one new show. Fringe. There's no wonder everyone I know watches Fox on Tuesdays. It's just what the doctor ordered. That is so bad. Yes, it was. An all-new Fox Tuesday begins tonight at 8 on the new Fox 5 San Diego. The contagious virus that causes warts can be spread by contact. Dude, where you been? Hey! And it can happen in an instant. Only 12 million people tuned in to watch the Emmy Sunday night. That's 18% lower than last year's crappy ratings. Wow. Padres hitting coach Wally Joyner resigns, says it's a difference in philosophy. Oh, really? One. The philosophy is they want hits. Yeah. He doesn't agree. No, I guess not. He doesn't agree. Some think that's overrated. I guess so. This text message says, Mikey, I'm 5'6", 108 pounds, just a little bit bigger than B-Rob. And one energy drink gives me the shakes and an erratic heartbeat. That's P1 Tina. Let's see. So, Mikey, who was hacking into Sarah's email account? I never said. And so I want to tell you. Now, I cannot say that they were hacking into her email account. All we can say is that the FBI searched their home. And who was it, Skye? It is the 20-year-old son of a Democratic senator from Tennessee.
That is bad. Yeah. The father, who is the senator from Tennessee, said that he has nothing to do with it. He has no knowledge of any of this. The family's attorney says the family wants to do the right thing. They want to do what's best for their son. They're confident that the truth will emerge. Whatever said truth is. Who knows? Al Gore, a senator from Tennessee. That's it? Yeah, experts with the FBI say the hacker apparently left an easy trail for investigators to follow. Really? And was by no means, you know, a professional at doing this. It wasn't even sophisticated. Is that thing? No. So, yeah, what I read, not here today, but, you know, late last week, I think, or maybe even over the weekend, was that this person went to her Yahoo, Sarah Palin's Yahoo email account and just was trying. A bunch of random things like family birth dates, like information you get through the media to try and figure out the password. So it was nothing really sophisticated by any means. It's really easy to get those. Like all you have to know is a real basic information like a birthday or a maiden name, which is easy information for somebody like that. Really? And then you like do the thing where you go, oh, I forgot my password. And then they go enter email account and what's your hint or what's your clue or whatever. And if you get that right, then they'll email you over the password.
Really? And then you're in. Ay-yi-yi. Oh, Rudolph. That sucks. Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi. David Blaine started hanging upside down yesterday. Wow, that sounds exciting. Wow, compelling. That's riveting. It was yesterday when he started this quest. Yep. In Central Park. I'm pumped up. Yeah, goosebumps. Hey, guys on there, what do you think of what I'm doing right now? I'm sorry. What did he say? I don't know. Hey, guys down there. Is he talking to us? I don't know. I think so. What do you think of what I'm doing? What do you think of this trick? Is he sleep talking? It does kind of sound like he's talking in his sleep. Maybe that's the deal. It would make some sense. So he started yesterday hanging upside down for 60 hours in Central Park. He's got a catheter, right? Yes, he has a catheter. Sure. In this clip, David explains to us why he's hanging upside down in Central Park, because it's kind of a crazy thing. All right, so tell me this. Why hang upside down? What's the motivation? What's the goal? I mean, the original image of it, because I look at magic as sort of images that make people wonder and curious.
Houdini was famous for dangling himself from a crane upside down by his ankles on a straitjacket, and he would escape. He would do it for shorts, you know, 20 minutes or something, and it was pretty compelling to look at. So I always liked the idea of being upside down, but the way that I kind of came up with my own niche was I liked to do endurance things. So I started experimenting on how long could somebody actually be put upside down. And there was no documentation of it. Nobody really had any research on it. So I invited doctors to kind of look and watch me as I was doing experiments. I realized that it could be done, although the dangers are high. But I think there's a way to override that. What, I wonder, are the dangers? Don't you go dying on me! than your heart. So the whole time that I'm upside down, I'll basically be doing one leg stretches. So I'll be hanging by one foot. One of the doctors told me that one of the side effects is losing enthusiasm. Oh, no. Oh, no. What would that sound like? Yeah. Well, it sounds like you're in trouble then. That's the only one that really concerns me. I got to stop sleeping upside down then. That's right. Yeah.
Me and Seth do the same thing. You do. You trained with Seth? Well, I contacted him. He's a professional. Yeah, obviously. He is. Obviously. Stretching the other foot all the way down and then switching probably every 20 minutes. And then when I need some water or something like that, I'll pull myself horizontal so I can come up, drink, and then dangle back down. Weird. So stupid. Does he have a website where you can watch it? Let's see. Zeth, try to find out if we can find it online anywhere. Okay. Rob's not impressed. What's his next trick? Standing up for 20 days? Hasn't he done that? You've got to be kidding me. He's done something similar. He just stood up? He stood there. Wow, yeah. So technically, I'm a magician too. So this whole thing will come to a climax Wednesday night on an ABC two-hour special called David Blaine, Dive of Death. Wow. Don't you go dying on me. The other real thing is I can't sleep for more than 15-minute spurts because they have to keep checking to make sure that I didn't go unconscious. So I can't really sleep for a long period like that. I'll be getting really short naps. Well, we'll be really worried for you. Which puts you into another stage, by the way.
Rob is not impressed. No. At all. Not even close. That's it. Do something while you're hanging upside down. Like solve a couple of Rubik's cubes or something. Yeah. Guess my card. Yeah. Do something. Just hang upside down. Make some little red balls disappear. Yeah. Do something, dude. Put a rabbit in a hat. Yeah. Pull a coin out of your ear. Mm-mm-mm. Cool. Uh. Mikey, I love Sky's commercial for the bank. Money, money, money. Can we not? I mean, I'm trying to help you by giving you the heads up with that. Money, money, money. If you're going to take financial advice, Sky knows what she's talking about. She loves this stuff. Show her your money. She's rolling in it. Show me the money. Thank you. Rock 105.3 Traffic. you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We're still looking at some rough spots on our freeways this morning. Out of the South Bay is 805 and 5. Both of these freeways, actually. Very tough. Still out of Chula Vista up in the National City. 805 lets you go right around Home Avenue. From there, you've got a good long stretch of smooth, easy driving until you get to Kearney Mesa. Then it hits you again right around Clermont Mesa Boulevard for a slow ride over that 52. North on 5 also slows again from the bridge all the way into the downtown S-curve.
Trailing west on the 94 King Freeway. That's still backed up from the 15 into the downtown area. Been looking good on the westbound 8 this morning. Just a brief delay at the Texas Street here as you come in past the Q. The westbound 52 looking good up the hill at a Santee. South 15, though, that's a struggle in single digits in some areas. From El Norte Parkway all the way down to Via Rancho through West Condito. Backing up again from Carmel Mountain Road in towards Poway. The westbound 56 also seeing some tight traffic from Rancho Santa Fe Farms getting to the 5 Freeway. And heading down that North County shoreline south on 5, getting kind of rough as well out of Lucadia and the Salina Beach. John Rick Lawrence on Rockwood 05.3. The Cricket Wireless Studios. Pretty good. Yeah, real good. Real fresh. Sweet. K.O.C. San Diego's Rock. 5.3. It's another Mikey. Mikey moment. Ashley, the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence in 1776 was what? Busting Rob from Survivor. Why can't you? I will just go with Teddy Roosevelt. Five threes. The guy that teaches me guitar.
His name is Russ. He has this ability to hear a song and sit there, play with it on the guitar for about two or three minutes and get it. It's the coolest thing to watch and to start hearing the song come out of his fingers, you know? And he was doing that with this song. I think it was this song the other day. And he's like, because he was playing something, he goes, that sounds like Pride, huh? And I was like... What part? He went back and he started playing around, playing around, playing around, and all of a sudden... Because of rumors that she was trying to get herself fired, Miley Cyrus issued a statement yesterday saying that she's fully committed to Hannah Montana. Lions Vice Chairman Bill Ford, son of the owner William Clay Ford, says if it was up to him, he would have fired Matt Millen by now. Really? Oh, yeah. So what does that mean, that the old man just really likes Matt Millen? I guess. Bill Ford says he just doesn't have the authority to do it. But he should be fired. Well, dude, I mean. Under Matt Millen, they have lost. It's brutal. So many games. Yeah. 50 games, I believe. Something like that. And Eddie and I are big guys on the draft, so we love to follow the draft. And he went through this run where every year, well, they were terrible, so they'd be picking, you know, they'd have these higher draft picks. Every year he took an incredible wide receiver. And every year, Eddie and I would be like.
He took another wide receiver. Charles Rogers. Yeah. Mike Williams. Yeah. Roy Williams. Yeah. And Calvin Johnson last year. Four years in a row. He really likes that position. I guess. He really likes that position. Has not worked out. Does he know there's other positions on the team? Maybe that's the problem. Maybe he doesn't know. It could be that somebody could send him an email and say, I heard there's other positions, and he could investigate. Yeah. That'd be cool. You know? So, this is the weirdest thing in the world. So, Eddie had scheduled an interview this morning with the Joseph M. Still Burns Center in Augusta, Georgia. This is the Burns Center that Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein are at. Travis Barker in a plane accident on Friday night, Sky? Yeah, just before midnight Friday night. And so both of them are pretty badly burned, and they were going to come on the air with us. They had a representative that was going to come on the air. And at the last minute, meaning the commercial break we were just in, they informed us, can't come on the air. Wow. Well, all they can say is that he is stable but in critical condition, and that's all they can say. They don't want to say what the exact injuries are, like nothing, just probably because of doctor, patient, confidential stuff.
Now, this is a statement that has been issued by the Barker and Goldstein families sort of working together to create this statement. And Goldstein is better known as DJ AM. That's how people know him. Both Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein, DJ AM, are currently being treated for second and third degree burns. Barker suffered burns on his torso and lower body. suffered burns on his arm and a portion of his scalp. Since both Barker and Goldstein are in overall good health and didn't suffer from any other crash-related complications, a full recovery is expected. The families wish to thank fans from all over the world for their prayers and their concern. Deepest sympathy is expressed to the loved ones of those who perished in the crash. As the two recuperate and mourn this loss, privacy for them, their families and friends as requested at this time. So they're just trying to get better. And yeah, like Eddie said, they couldn't come on the air, but they did give us, you know, they did give us the update that there's a few different physicians that are working with them. Fred Mullins, MD, director, medical director of the Joseph M. Burns Center and burn surgeon.
Klaus Brandigi, MD, stated that the patient's remaining critical but stable condition. So that's the latest. Yeah, and they have plenty of friends and family members by their side. I know, you know, Travis Barker, his ex-wife, Shana Mochler, you know, they did that MTV show together. She immediately flew out and rushed by his side. And then DJ AM's ex-girlfriend, Mandy Moore, same thing. As soon as she heard, immediately jumped on a plane, went out there to the hospital in Georgia and spin by his side as well. This text message says, Mikey, Rob should hang upside down for the 28-hour show. That is a pretty decent idea. But it's very dangerous. Like, I mean, David Blaine's, you know, doctor is saying. Yeah, let's risk it, right? Let's go for it. I want to put the catheter in. That was a strange request. Don't you go dying on me. Let's see. Yuck. So, before we went to break, we said we wanted to do this. Oh, yeah. Oh, let's do it. Let's do it. Come on. Let's do a little Wuss Rock jukebox. She's not kidding. She's serious. Apparently not. Go on. 5701053, if you're a guy and you would like to play Wuss Rock jukebox, the idea is that you call, we play a clip of a Wuss Rock song, it will abruptly stop, and you just take over singing. It's that easy. Eddie, what is the prize today that they could win?
I believe we have Metallica tickets. Oh, shut your mouth. Oh, just Metallica tickets. Metallica tickets. It's huge. Awesome. Now check this out. I'm messing around. It's Jim Rome in the studio, by the way, ladies and gentlemen. You can see Jim. It's huge, right? Is it? What is it? There it is. There's Jim Rome. There it is. Rock him. I love the face she does. The faces are really, she sells it. What she does is it's called, in the comedic world, it's called selling it. Yeah, she gets it. Oh, man. 570-1053. Now, the only thing I don't want to hear from you. Break it down. I don't want to hear you say, I couldn't hear it, Mike. Napoleon? Yeah, when you played the song. I couldn't hear it. That's weird. Turn up your ears. Go home, Napoleon. Try to hear it at home.
I don't want to hear that you can't hear it. The other thing that I don't want you to do is if you don't know the words to the song, don't just sing the lyrics. I don't know the words to this song. Because you can say things are getting pretty serious. Wow. Be creative, you know. You know, Sky gave the suggestion one time, hey, listen, as you're listening to the song, try to rhyme one of the words. Sure. Try to rhyme one of the words. Be creative and try to come up with something that kind of rhymes. It's a good idea. So just be creative and you can win. It's only Metallica tickets on the line. No big deal. Come on. P1J. That's me. How are you? I'm doing good. You know what? I like this batch of songs that we have today. Oh. They are very well known. They are very well known songs. And so I feel like you have a very good chance of A. recognizing the song and being able to sing along. And even if you don't know the lyrics that well, I have confidence. I have ka-dunk-a-dunk that you will come up with something entertaining for us, even if you don't know. All right, here we go. Wow, we're really in a conundrum here. We are really in a pickle. This is a catch-22. Goodness gracious, mimacious. I'm trying to come up with them now.
Eddie? Wow. I know it. I know it. Because he kind of did what you asked. Yeah. But yet, I was so enjoying the Piano Man song. Yeah. Great point. And that was something else. I believe that he showed up at my house last night to watch the game. Yeah. I'm watching it for the hunk, Brett Favre. Right. He's watching it for the actual football. Oh, wow. That means he's not much of a wuss rocker. So, yeah, I'm like, oh, you're here for the wrong reasons. So, I'm afraid I can't say yes to this. Yeah, yeah. Sky. Yeah, I appreciate... Oh, you're in it. It's really tough. It's tough because he did one thing dead on that you requested, but he also did one thing that you said do not do. Right. Which was when he said the whole, I don't know. I don't know this song, but he rhymed it when he said it, which was awesome. So to be honest, I think you're a little confused. I think you need to explore your feelings. Eddie's making swishy hand. And, you know, see where you truly stand on this issue. So as of now, I...
Don't think you're a straight dude. Oh, too bad. Yeah. Sean, what did you think? Oh, you're out, dude. Oh, wow. No matter what I say, you're done. Oh, wow, Sean. Because you suck. All right. Thank you, Sean. Wow. Nice. I thought we were all going to lock arms. Oh, no. With beer steins in our hands? Oh, really? Actually, now I'm in. Oh. Let's see. Up next, you may or may not know this P1. Don't do it. I can't. I don't know if I can. Stop. He is very well known in the Wuss Rock world. Oh, really? You may be familiar with the name. He goes by P1 Buckley. Buckley, how are you? I'm a little nervous. I really want those Metallica tickets. Dude, don't let the pressure get to you. You're a champ. You are. You got it. Well, let me just tell you right now.
I am basically walking up to Tony Gwynn, and I have a softball in my hand. That's what's about to happen here, folks. Are you ready for this? So what you're going to see is the longest home run you've ever seen in your life. Oh, I'm excited then. Are you ready, Buckley? You got it. Here we go. Look at that ball. I can't even see it. Where is it? It's still good. It's out of the park. Wow. It really is. So good. Eddie. Mike, splashdown, buddy. That was a humongous shot. I cannot wait until later on when Sky announces the new releases that me and Buckley can go get Sex and the City, the movie, get our martini, and really enjoy his performance and that great movie. Unbelievable. Wow.
Skye. Well, it's funny that you bring up the Sex and the City movie because I went to Olive Garden last night and I saw the Sex and the City group, which, of course, is, you know, Kimbra, Lori, Rebecca, and Mikey. And then there was a fifth seat there. And I was like, who? And then walking out of the ladies' room, Buckley. Buckley, right. That's incredible. And Shawnee, oh boy. Yeah, it's obvious to me that you enjoy the smell of posies and a man's back. Okay. There it is. That was something else. Jim Rome, what did you think of that performance? Thank you. That was Jim Rome saying it was huge. Tell her you rack collars. You rack the collars. Forget it. All right, hang on the line. Hang on, Buckley. P1 Little Tuna is on the line. Oh, okay. Hi, Little Tuna. What's going on, Mikey? Not too much, dude. You ready to wish rock your guts out? I'm ready. All right. I'm going to play you a clip when it ends. You start. Here we go. That's why they play the game, Eddie. I tell you what. That's why they play the game. I mean, following Buckley and then having to do that. Unbelievable. You are truly the official bathroom attendant of the George Michael household. Congratulations. This guy. This guy.
I'm just so impressed with your range. Your falsetto was gorgeous. It's obvious to me that you've been practicing at Lips and Hillcrest on the weekends. And the practice has paid off, so congrats. And finally, Shawnee, oh boy. Well, you know, Mike, his tone wasn't that great. Oh, come on. No, no, no. I'm just saying it wasn't a perfect performance. Simon. But, however, I can definitely say that... What is that? Oh, it's the crowd. Can I finish? Can he finish? The crowd is booing. It's a big crowd. There's only four people in the crowd. I'm overwhelmed by the crowd. Three of them liked it.
But I can definitely say that whenever you hear the term bear attack, you automatically think of a tickle fight between you and an overweight 45-year-old man. So, good job. That is the truth. Congratulations, Lil Tuna. You are a winner. Hang on. Don't go away. Oh, by the way, if you'd like to, you can text us at 35253. Or you can call us at 570-1053. Do you know that a thousand people showed up to a public hearing at the Del Mar fairgrounds? And it was all on a toll road. There's a proposed toll road. I've been paying to be on the road. And I'll tell you where this is. When we come back, I'll tell you where you may be paying to be driving. So don't go away. That's coming up next. Pounding like Thor's hammer on Dr. Doomsday King infused face paint.
At Robbins Brothers, we're all about finding you that one perfect ring. So. Platinum won't do. Doesn't go with any of my jewelry, so I'm thinking yellow gold. But two-tone won't do either. But then I am a summer, so I can wear warm tones with everything. My best friend just got engaged, and she has yellow gold, and she's a summer too. But I don't want to seem like I'm copying her, now do I? Don't worry. We'll help you find the type of metal that's perfect for you. It's got to be a solitaire, no contest. Oval is too modern. And I'm so not a pear shape. And if you just can't make up your mind, at Robbins Brothers, we have diamond experts who will help you find the perfect one. P1 Ross. Hey, I switched to AIS. I gave him a call. I took your advice. I was with a mom and pop company, right? Yeah. And I was paying $200 a month, but for no reason they opted to $300. And that's when I called AIS, and they gave me a quote for less than what I was paying originally. So now they're saving me $1,800 a year. Dude, that is awesome. Yeah. You are saving up to $1,800 a year? Yeah. They cut it in half. That's amazing. Yeah. And I drive a sports car and I'm 21 years old, so I was excited about that. That is awesome. Hey, dude, thank you for the call. I appreciate it. Yeah, no problem. Thank you. What I tell you about AIS is the solid gold truth, and I mean that from my heart. I use AIS myself. My wife uses AIS. I'm starting to see some better looking speeds out of the South Bay this morning. Both the 5 and 8 to 5 northbound are looking pretty good up through National City out of the South Bay. The 5 freeway though, there is an accident near Washington Street and that's going to back up your ride as you come out of downtown passing the airport there. West on the 94, still finding a bit of a slowdown from 25th Street into downtown. Looking good though on the westbound 8. That's a smooth one out of La Mesa all the way to Mission Valley. No worries on the 52 west out of Santee. That's a nice looking ride up the hill.
Heading south from the 15, coming out of Escondido, still a slow and going, though. Bumper to bumper from the 78 to Villa Rancho Parkway, near the minor delays of Carmel Mountain Ranch. The westbound 56 still backing up from Carmel Valley Road to the 5, and south 5 still finding a few breaklights here from Santa Fe Drive out of Encinitas down towards Solana Beach. And a watch for traffic control still in the Claremont area as investigators investigate a fatality accident involving a pedestrian this morning at the corner of Balboa and Genesee. Balboa is shut down in both directions between Genesee. and Mount Abernathy. You've got traffic control in place there as well. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rockwood053. Johnny. What's up, Johnny? Two quick things, man. One, thanks for all the info about Sleep Train, man. I just bought mine yesterday. You got a Sleep Train mattress? Dude, just yesterday. Sleep comfort, man. Oh, you got the Select Comfort. Yeah, the Select Comfort, man. I slept for 13 hours, and I've never done that before. Oh, my God. Dude, and I'm telling you, like, I wake up to... Listen, it's a good thing, but it's also a bad thing because you're not going to want to get out of bed. You get on one of those mattresses, you don't want to get out of bed. That's true. They are so damn comfortable. That's great, dude. And they take your old set out and all that? Yep. Yep. That's what they do. That's awesome. Thank you very much, man.
Not the slowest driver. Sean. Someone shut the woman up. Boss and Rob. You know, my paycheck will go to putting gas in my car and smoking cigarettes. And Ashley. I am not dumb. The Mikey Show's on. Barking and Chandra. Rock 105.3. A voice like an angel. Little Stevie. Little Stevie. Welcome back. It's 842. David Blaine kicked off his latest stunt yesterday, hanging upside down in Central Park for 60 hours. Okay, fantasy footballers. Eagles running back Brian Westbrook is day-to-day with his injured ankle, so you're just going to have to keep paying attention. Oh, man. He's doing pretty good. Oh, yeah. Eddie, I'll tell you what. These days of special effects are amazing.
Right now, speaking of football, right now on the Today Show, they have Tiki Barber on. And through the magic of special effects, they're able to make it look as if another Tiki Barber is sitting right next to him dressed in a completely different outfit. This is embarrassing. It's amazing. It's amazing. I'll tell you that Industrial Light and Magic is amazing. He's a twin. Who has a twin? Lucas. George Lucas has a twin. The inventor of industrial light and magic. Is he also in the film business? I don't know. Fine. Yes. He's a vintner. Well, welcome back. Before we went to the break, we said that there was a thousand people at a public hearing last night at the Del Mar fairgrounds on a proposed toll road extension. And the thousand people that were there, they know where this is. But I told you when we came back, we would tell you where it was. Skye, where are we talking here? So have you heard of trestles, safe trestles? Has this been on your wavelength? I believe that's the trestle fries, right? Yeah, it's a fungus. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Pigs have to find it. They've got to sniff around for it. That's a truffle. That's a truffle. And they're garlicky. Okay. Well, anyway, so.
This is a proposed toll road extension through San Onofre State Beach. And basically people are very passionate about it. The people who are against it say that it would spoil one of California's most popular parks. It could endanger animal species and also could ruin the surf breaks out at Trestles, which is, you know, a world famous surfing area. Yeah. So they don't like it and they're mad. And this has been going on for a while. So they say that, I mean, that the public hearing last night was chaotic. Because people are, like, so passionate. Like, over 1,000 people showed up to this public hearing. Surfers, probably, right? Yeah, lots of surfers are against this. Now, I wonder how much it would cost. Well, the project itself would cost $1.3 billion. Oh, my gosh. That's a lot. Yeah, I don't know how much the toll would be. The people who are for it say, well, it'll... create jobs it'll provide an alternative link between san diego and orange county and so if there's ever like a disaster you know it would be another route like out of town if we needed to so we're talking about building a whole new freeway slash road that runs alongside of it
Of the freeway now? Yeah, it's an extension. Oh, my. Yeah, of a project there. So, yeah, people are very passionate and really, you know, so now it's kind of in the hands of the secretary of commerce after hearing all the comments at the meeting last night who will decide in early January. But they pretty much figure whatever. The Commerce Secretary decides someone's going to appeal it. One side is going to appeal it, and it'll end up back in the court system for who knows how much longer. I got Scooby-boarding out there, so I got to make sure. That's not the phrase. I don't want to have to pay. What is that? You're a Scooby-boarder. I'm a Scooby-boarder, and I started when I was 12, so I've been doing it for a while. I'm pretty good at it now. I'm doing it that length of time. Let's see. That Wall Street bailout plan. It's making a little bit of progress in Congress right now. Yeah, you know, Congress really didn't like, you know, a lot of things. Like all the money for the $700 billion Wall Street bailout would be like up to one person. Money, money, money.
to disperse. And Congress is like, hey, no, we just can't put one person in charge of $700 billion. There needs to be oversight committees. They need to be watching. And yeah, that's great that you want to bail out Wall Street, but what about the everyday guy who's hurting because of this? Money, money, money. Are we not going to help them? So they're adjusting and tweaking and adding little things and little give, little take to try and get this $700 billion bailout plan approved. Dakota Fanning has started to attend private school. And, you know. Act like a normal kid. Yeah, well, what's the deal? I mean, was she? Homeschooled. Okay. Yeah, she was homeschooled for quite a while. I wonder if that's going to be hard for her. To go from, you know, not being around kids to being around them all the time. She's probably, it's going to be weird being, I mean, she's probably been around adults all her life. Right. On the movie sets and stuff like that. Well, yeah. And, you know, in the. The bid on her is, you know, because like Saturday Night Live does this running bid on her where she hosts a talk show and all she wants to talk about are really like adult things, you know? Like she hosts a kid talk show? Yeah, and other kids come on and she starts asking other kids about like Mozart and, you know, all these things that kids wouldn't be into. And so, but now that she started attending this private school after being homeschooled for so long, she actually is now talking about kid stuff. She was like really excited during an interview saying she's on the chat.
cheerleading squad. No way. She gets to go on top of the pyramid, and cheerleading is cool because of school spirit, and I was like, wow, you actually sound like a kid. That's awesome. No way. Yeah. That's cool. Yeah. Let's see. Is it too early to do new releases, or can we do new releases? I'm ready. Let's do it. Let's do some new releases. I want to know what's out in... Break it off. Break it off. What's out in video games? Break it off. And break it out. Music and all of it. Okay, let's see. New video games out today. We have Mega Man 9 for the Wii. Nice. We have Brothers in Arms, Hell's Highway for Xbox 360. Right. Pure Xbox 360. Wipeout HD for the PS3. Lego Batman PS3. Cool. Dragon Ball Z Trilogy PS2. Wario Land Shake It for the Wii. Day Blob. Wario Land? Wario. Wow. Yeah, that's actually, I know, I double checked it. Yeah. Oh, boy. And then we have Warriors Orochi 2 for Xbox 360. How's that? How's that? Orochi. Well said. Orochi. Orochi. Orochi. Orochi. Orochi. Orochi. Orochi.
So those are the new video games out. New music out today. We have Kings of Leon with Only by the Night. I need an interpreter. Yeah, I like the song off this album called Sex on Fire. They did it. Oh, yeah, that was a good one. That's a good song, and they performed it on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. It was pretty darn good. Not one right there. I've tried to get into Kings of Leon. Yeah. Because I want to feel cooler. You got the t-shirt. It's supposed to be real cool. I listen and I'm like, I don't know. I don't get it. I don't understand. Also out today, we have the Cold War Kids with Loyalty to Loyalty. Cold War Kids? I don't understand. It's so stupid. I don't understand. That's it. Wow.
All right. I should form a band. Dude, let's do it. I mean, if that's what's going on, we can do this, you guys. Let's do this. Come on. Come on, yeah. I call dance. You call what? You call dance? Yeah, I just dance. Okay. Mighty Mighty Boston has this guy that he just dances. That's it. He doesn't play an instrument. He dances. Do you think that dude has another job? Absolutely not, dude. He gets paid to dance. Yeah, he dances. It's quite a gig. It's the theme of my life. Good gig if you can get it. That's the theme of your life? What? It's not her name. He has been waiting all morning to be able to call her fart. I want to do it in a nice way so she doesn't get mad. It's a friendly acronym. Hey. Ashley, did you take the fart clip down off the wall? Oh, don't you dare. I had to put other stuff up. I'll put it back up. Oh, yeah. We have to have it in a permanent location. You let me know where you permanently want it. Let's put it. I'll put it there for you, buddy. Let's put it over the rainbow. What a wonderful world. We can move that. We have to have it. We have to have it at all times. It will permanently be there. You're good people.
What else we got? Okay, so you guys will know this guy. Everlast has a new album out today, Love, War, and the Ghost of Whitey Ford. That dude has a cool look. Remember Everlast? Love them. The tats and the whole deal? Oh, yeah. Cool. Yep. All right, out today, Pussycat Dolls with Doll Domination. Do they play it on the radio a lot? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Are the Pussycat Dolls the group? No, they're not the one that was put together on TV, are they? No, but... They had... Yeah, like, they had a show where they were looking for the seventh member, but then she ended up, like, bailing out. Really? So they found a seventh member, and then she said no thanks? Yeah, she said no thanks. And then they just recently, like, the same people that put together the Pussycat Dolls, I forget her name, Robin something, she came out with Girlicious and then put together a new band called Girlicious, and that was the latest season. I don't know anything.
I don't know anything. All that was new and interesting information. I didn't know any of it, though. I was like, wow. You're better off like that. I'm being honest. They're good performers, but I don't like that song. Yeah, they send a bad message to the youth. Okay. That's Rob's hot button. I'm so sorry. They send a bad message to the youth. Did you hear the lyrics to that song? I didn't. When I grow up, I want to be famous. I want to have groupies. I want to have, like, what about, you know, just getting your homework done when you get home from school? Yeah. What happened to that? What happened to that? Yeah, that doesn't sell. All right. Today we have Sex and the City, Volume 2, the original soundtrack. Eddie's eyes just rolled to the back of his head like a great white shark. This is good. Is this real? Is this real? This is on the soundtrack? Yeah. There you go, ladies. Love it. That was rough. That sends a bad message. We have another Disney kid with an album out today. Who is it? Demi Lovato. It's called Don't Forget.
Avril Lavigne. Yeah. He's got a pretty good dance to it. Yeah. Because it's a Disney kid. You don't need to jump around. Wow. I was really enjoying that. I was getting into it, too. Yeah. All right. Also out today, Jasmine Sullivan with Fearless. I already heard this one. I like this. It's the number one hip-hop song right now on the Billboard charts. I like the way this sounds. Eddie, this sounds like Missy Elliott. No. Alicia Keys. Yeah, Miss Elliott is on the song. She is? Yeah. I think I want to get Alicia Keys more of her music, too. Well, that's not Alicia Keys. Yeah, Alicia's good. That's good, ladies and gentlemen. She's good as well. Alicia Keys. No. And Skye says she's got a sister named Jasmine Sullivan. We'll know all that. Works under the stage name. Jasmine Sullivan. Anyway, more Alicia Keys. You're confusing the P1s. Wait, no one. Yeah.
All right, here is Alicia Keys, No One. And her stage manager is named Jasmine Sullivan. Oh, that's cool. That's actually her name. And then finally, with a solo album out today, we have John Oates with A Thousand Miles of Life. Of Hall and Oates? Yes, Mike, of Hall and Oates. What? You're telling me Zucky and Oates is dead? Yes. Eddie looks really confused. Defeated. Was he the one with the mustache? Daryl Hall's the one with the good voice. I got all excited. I didn't know who was who. I just assumed it was the blonde white dude. No, that's Daryl Hall. When's his album coming out? I don't know. Mustache guy came out with one? He just stands in the background and mustaches. Yeah, he mustaches around and stuff.
I thought that like every guy, every band needs a mustache. For sure. All right. And then new DVDs out today. We have Sex and the City on DVD. There you go. Yep. No? Okay. Leatherheads. George Clooney. Oh, man. Does that look like a thing? You don't like that old style humor? I'm out. The slapstick. No, I do not. Screwball comedy. I don't like screwball comedies. Also out on DVD, Deception with Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor, Michelle Williams. Yeah. Run, Fat Boy, Run. Oh, Sky, that's not very nice to say to me. Listen, I'm working on it. No, no, that's the name of a movie out today. Where do you want me to go? The directing debut of David Schwimmer. Anybody? No? Wow. Okay. Maybe you'll be into this. The Godfather, The Coppola Restoration. What is that? Tell me what that is. Yes. What is that? So they digitally restored The Godfather and The Godfather Part 2, which was overseen by Francis Ford Coppola. And then they remastered The Godfather Part 3. Yes, my dad actually does the commentary for his nerd scene. That's so good. And then part of the box set thing is a documentary on...
restoring the Godfather movie. Is this in HD or Blu-ray? Yeah, they say it's a five-disc DVD or four-disc Blu-ray set. And how much are we talking? I don't have the price. One million dollars. A million dollars a disc. It could be. I don't have the price, unfortunately. What was the set called again? The Godfather, the Coppola Restoration. The Coppola Restoration. Okay, and then TV shows to DVD, Samantha Who, the complete first season, Boston Legal, season four, Brothers and Sisters, the complete second season, CSI New York, the fourth season, and Two and a Half Men, the fourth season. Enjoy. Yes, sir. Your Godfather Blu-ray is $61.95 at Amazon. There it is. Not too early to shop for Christmas, guys. Not too early. Our text number is 35253. Our phone number is 5701053. Is this a new mix of the song? Because I've never heard this version. Well, no, I think Rob was just funny. I thought this was the dupe-dupe version. No. 053. Be a rock star. You know, last week, more than 26 million people watched along with you. Wow, I'm going to need a big account. Yeah, so you're a nurse. Know any doctors like house? Oh, no. He's fun to watch, but I wouldn't want to work with him. Well, this week, it's a new house when one organ donor helps six recipients. Until five of them die. What happens to number six? Ah, wait and see. Then it's an all-new Fringe. And tonight, the team faces a bus full of passengers, frozen like statues. What? I have been on some cold city buses, but that is ridiculous. It's not the temperature that froze them. Ooh.
Is this Ryan? Yeah, this is Ryan. Ryan, what's the deal? You went to Amco? Yeah, actually, I took your advice. Last week, my check engine light came on. Uh-huh. And I heard the radio ad yesterday morning on the way to work. And I went to the Mission Boards location. Uh-huh. And Nick hooked it up. He found out that my number three spark plug wasn't firing. So I told him, hey, you know, I can fix that myself. But I told him, you know, even though he wasn't able to do the service on my truck, that he has my service down the road for when my transmission goes out. Because he did that for free, right? Yeah, he did it for free. See, I mean, how can you not respect that? You didn't end up having it. And most people, they would have charged you just to tell you that. And then, you know what I mean? And now that guy's got a customer for life. And that's basically what Amco's philosophy is. Amco diagnoses you for free, just like this guy. It's double A-M-C-O. We're here with Dave, a software designer in Palo Alto, who will tell us what he thinks of Hot Tamales' fiery cinnamon-packed taste. Thank you, Dave. Hot Tamales. Taste untamed.
If you haven't noticed, the world's gone crazy. Maybe it's time you went crazy, too. In Vegas, it's the perfect place to let loose and have some crazy good times. Go to visitlasvegas.com and leave the traffic behind. The Chargers, Bud Light, and Rock 1053. It's game day. by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We're looking pretty good on our freeways right now. Balboa Avenue still shut down in both directions between Genesee and Mount Abernathy. You've got travel control in place, but you're being advised to avoid that stretch of the area if you possibly can. The only leftover slow spot right now on our freeways is the South 15. Keep my mind. We all speak our mind on this stupid show. Sean. Page somewhere. Austin Robb. That's crazy. That's crazy. We're giving away a cheap angle. And Ashley. I'll go through a roll of toilet paper in a day. The Mikey Show's on. That's true. 105.3. Anybody ever goes, well, what's so different about a Les Paul guitar? Why are they so special? That right there. What's so killer about us? awesome voice and an awesome mullet. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm trying to say. This right here, buddy. Yeah. Oh, that is sweet music to my ears. Do you like this? Out of your mind? You should be deported. Oh, my goodness. I don't dislike this, but I would choose this by any means. I would choose this over probably 98% of music. Oh, dude, I agree 100%.
I agreed 100% on something 98%. That's pretty cool. Yeah, that's good. Have I said the time yet? Have I done that? 9-14? New census figures show that about 25% of homeowners in San Diego County spend more than half of their income on housing. Chargers had another wild one last night, but were able to secure their first victory beating Brett Favre and the Jets 48-29. Hey, North Turner, how'd the team play? Well, it's nice to get a win. I thought the key to the game, obviously, was our defense set at Temple in the first half. They won. Right now we've played three games. We did a lot of good things today, but there's a lot of things we have to just keep working to get better at. And that's going to be our focus as we prepare for our next football game. Maybe we should hear LT. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah.
It's a step in the right track. We got to win a big win at home against a very good ball club. And so, like I said, next week, we got to go to Oakland. Some people step in the right direction. Some people step in the right track. I don't know about that. It happens. It's my kind of guy. I understood what he meant. Yeah. Thank you, Eddie. Story of my life. That's right. Sometimes you say, you know, you're trying to say something very particular, but you end up mixing a couple of those particular things out there. Do you like how you're keeping the song on? What do you mean? That's pretty cool. So, let's see here. I'm looking for a story to talk about here. Oh, man, I dropped something. Hang on a minute. It probably fades a song. The Sarah Palin stuff's getting out of hand, isn't it? I don't know what that even means. It's just kept... Hope summer sticks around a while longer. Uh-huh.
When do we fall back? That's a good question. When do we fall back? That's a great question. Soon, right? Somebody ought to Google that. Yeah, we'll have to look that up. Yeah. Just give us a second. All right. We'll find that information for you. Oh, those Padres, huh? That's a tough one, but there's always next year. Always next year, Eddie. At least we got those. Let me look up and see where the Padres are playing with. Let's see what's going on with that. Right, then. Natty Fade. That's right. Natty Fade is what they call that. You know what I'm saying? I know what you're saying. Yeah. You got it. Well said. I got to hear this. Apparently, Bill Clinton says that his wife, Hillrod, he says that Hillrod, she didn't even want to be the vice presidential nominee. Oh, really? He says some crazy stuff, kind of. Don't you guys get that feeling? I love it. So anyway, he was on the television show, The View. Oh, lovely. The View. Yeah.
Senator Clinton really want to be vice president? And did you want her to be vice president? Before he answers that, Bill Clinton on The View? Right. A bunch of women that are ready to attack a man. And this is like the guy that was doing the stuff. I mean, they had to have had Secret Service ready to jump in. Yes. To save him. Definitely. He got hooping cough all over him. Hoopy Goldberg cough. Not really, no. I mean, first of all, I had no... Not really, she didn't, and I had no real opinion. No, she didn't want to be the vice president. Not really, no. I think that it's very important once a party gets a nominee. It's a very personal decision who should be vice president. And I like Senator Biden a lot. I think it was a good choice.
She would have been the best politically, at least in the short run, because of her enormous support in the country. But she didn't want it. Not particularly. But she said that if he asks, I'll do it because it's my duty. But I think, look, she loves being a senator. But she didn't want to do it. Okay, then let's follow this thought through, Bill. Okay. She would do it because it's her duty. But she didn't want to do it. She would hate it. Which means, right, Bill, that if... If she were ever asked that question, had she become the vice presidential nominee, she would tell the truth and say she didn't want it. She didn't want to do it. I mean, she'll do it. If she would have been named vice president, she would have been miserable. She would have hated the job. I mean, she'll sack it up. She didn't particularly want it necessarily. And she never said she did. She flat out told me she would hate the job. Oh, wow. Those are strong words. No one said that. She despises the vice presidency. Oh, she does. Wishes it didn't exist. That is weird, Bill Clinton. ... from New York, and she has more freedom to develop her positions on the issues and do her things. But the main thing is... I told her, why don't you just stay home and cook and take care of the kids. Do laundry and, you know, watch The View. I really like your show. I really like your show because y'all talk to, you know, women that I think are doing the right thing.
Not boating, not working. Wait. They're just at home. Not wearing any shoes. Hopefully pregnant. You know what I mean? She thought she'd been through it with me. So the main thing she thought is I should have no opinion. It sounds like he has dry mouth. Oh, definitely. Yeah. Yeah. He gets that a lot. Yeah. I want to give him a glass of water. Yes. Yeah. I want to give him a lozenge. I need to get out of this. A lot of salt in the diet, Mike. Yes. Dude, can you hear that? Oh, I hate it. I can't stand it. It's really gross. I can't stand it. That's one of my biggest pet peeves. Okay, Mike. It's grossing me out, though. Okay, guy, we get it. It's like you just had a Slurpee. You ever get that Slurpee spit? Oh, yes. He's got Slurpee mouth. Disgusting. She, Hillary. She and I, we would get out of it and let Senator Obama make his decision. He should be free to make it. Senator McCain should be free to make it. It's their decision, and it's incredibly personal. Well, yeah. It's just that your wife didn't want to do it. She hates it. I wish she would have. She doesn't hate it. This is very, very personal for her. That's right. That was a really good Clinton. It's like he was in the room. That's really good.
Some people feel that Senator Obama did. Can you try saying that word one more time? Let's work on the word senator. Did not choose Senator Clinton because he didn't want you in the bargain. So I'm sure you heard that. So my question is, why didn't he pick the senator? It's like a combo meal with a Diet Coke. What's the point? And had he chosen her, would the Republicans have chosen Sarah Palin? Well, first of all, I don't know the answer to that. I think that he felt more comfortable with another choice, and you have to respect that. Was it because he didn't want you along? I have no idea. If anybody thought that, they were just reading the political press and believing it, because I wouldn't have been in this race if Hillary hadn't run. Let's see. He is going on to talk about Obama and what he thinks of Obama's chances. Before you go today, I have to know, because I know you predict the future, who's going to win the election, Obama or McCain? I believe Obama will win. I'm shocked.
Wow. Really? Duh. Hey, great question. There's the limb. He's out on it. Yeah. Yeah. Really on the spot. Said McCain will win? No, because I'm a loyal Democrat. But I'll tell you this. I wouldn't fabricate the Obama case either. And, you know, I've gotten, I've made everybody in the world mad in this election because I'm tired of all this bomb thawing. I genuinely like both of them. I genuinely admire both of them. I genuinely... I think that we make a terrible mistake believing that we have to find something wrong with the people we can't vote for. It's like there was confusion. Do we clap? It's not a good thing. Mike, see how awesome that guy is. Sean loves Clinton. Oh, man. I mean, talk about like, you know, he just wants to tell the truth, get the truth out there, be perfectly honest, straightforward people, you know?
Just sleep with a bunch of women. That's all he wants to do. He's the man. And, you know, I like John McCain. I haven't been for John McCain. I'm not sure I could have normalized relations with Vietnam. I was an opponent of the Vietnam War. He spent five and a half years in a prison camp. It was a lot easier for me when he said President Clinton's right. Let me tell you something. That's Sarah Palin. She's a fox. You better not go there. Don't go there. She's a sexy fox. He went there. Those days are over. Oh, boy. I called her up. I left a message, and I said, what's cooking? Good looking? Yeah. All right. That's really weird. Well, then you must be in. And then I winked at my cell phone when I was leaving the message. I said, I go, you know who? Oh, creepy. I said, you know who? Creepy, Bill. I don't know if she actually knows who it was. Okay. I prank call her every day. Oh, you do? That is. I call it the Palin prank. Well, you probably shouldn't. I do it every day. She has Secret Service watching her. They don't know, though. Well, I'm sure they can figure it out. I call from a secret phone. Oh, a secret phone. Well, then. I love librarian glasses. Oh, do you? I do. I've always been partial to them. Yeah, well, Sarah wears those. It does something for me. Really? Mm-hmm. I always had a thing for Tina Fey, too. Well, I'll see. Okay. Obviously, you have a look that you... Yeah, that you like. ...going for, but...
I asked her if she wanted to come over and play the saxophone. What does that mean? Why? What do you want? Is that... Uh-oh. You mean the real saxophone? You're thinking into it. Well, we know you are. Don't analyze. Don't analyze. All right, fine. That's cool. That's cool. She's a fox with lipstick. Forget that piece, though. Okay. It's not a saying. Did I mention that Sarah Palin is a sexy fox? Yes, she did. Many times. She's a fox. You're married. Yeah, you are. I am married. I love my wife so much. I do. I need not for anything else. Look, my wife fulfills me. Her name is Hillary. See, a lot of you people are misinformed about her. We are? Yeah, y'all think that she's all buttoned up and everything. But what you don't know is that she's a sexy fox, too. Oh, she is. Well, who's sexier? What? I said it clearly. Who's sexier? Yeah, clearly you've heard me. Sarah Palin. Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton. Y'all know me, I'm honest. Well, that's what Sean said. He said you are very honest. I love Hillary. That girl can open a pickle jar like no other. That's what you look for in a woman. She has really strong hands. Pickle jar? Yeah, she knows how to change a spare tire.
It sounds very sexy. There's an old presidential saying that goes like this. I see London, I see France. I'd like to see Sarah Palin's underpants. No, that's not an old saying. I love my wife. She's sturdy. Again, not really a compliment. That is true. That's not a sexy word. She's very loyal and she is very... sturdy, and she has very broad shoulders. Okay. I think they say that about Pam Anderson, too. They do? Yeah. I haven't heard that. Or not. Yeah. I was very strong in the military, and that's why I love my wife, Hillary. What? What does that mean? She's built like a tank. Okay. All right. Again, not a compliment. I love a tank. No. I love a tank. I don't think he loves tanks like that. You don't know. Well, he shouldn't. Sometimes when she sits down, Yeah. Sometimes when she sits down in our car and she gets out, the impression that she left will stay there for a day and a half. Wow. But that means she leaves an impression. That's good. It's a good thing. Okay. For sometimes three or four days. Yeah. Hill, baby. Hill, baby. There's still the impression in the car seat. In the car seat? From where you were. Yeah. I mean, you go out and check.
the seats in your car regularly or I don't... Just when I'm going to 7-Eleven to get a churro and I'll look in there and I'll go, wow, Hillary must have been here. Oh, wow. Look at that sucker. Your heart swell, doesn't it? It's because I love her. That's great. That's very romantic, Bill. If she shakes your hand, you can feel it for hours after she shakes your hand. Oh, that's weird. How about that? What do you think about that about Hillary? Very feminine. Well, no, I was actually thinking the opposite of feminine. It's sexy. That's kind of a masculine trait. There's nothing wrong with struggling. It's not sexy in a woman. You guys know that she can fart Jay-Z music? Okay. She reminds me of my wife. Yeah? My wife, Hillary. Yes. Reminds me. Of what? Of a very sexy drill sergeant. Okay. Come on. Come on, Bill. Take this job and shove. This is Hillary's favorite song. She don't want it. She said, get it out of my face. I love her. Totally. This text message says, hey, Mike.

I got the Sturgeon Foster Silver Dream. That's the one I have. That thing is supposed to be like $69.95 or something. I think I got it out the door $28.50. I got it for $3,200 and then somebody else at another store beat up my price. So they came back and beat it by 5%. Damn. That's nice. And they gave me free mattress cover. What is it? What size did you get? A twin? Or what did you get? I got the top one king. Oh, you big pimp. Ashley's in. Oh, dude. It's pretty comfortable, huh? I'm still waiting to get it. How many of your girlfriends and wives cry watching The Biggest Loser? There's Ashley. My wife loses it on that show. Very emotional. Man, it gets me every time. Yeah, they really... I'd never seen it. Oh, really? I don't watch TV anymore. She had it on. She was watching it. And I hear the sniffles and everything. And I look up and they got the dramatic music playing and everything. And it really gets you because they have all the dramatic music going along with it. That wasn't the music. That was the right one. That wasn't the music that they used. I don't know. Maybe that wasn't it. Maybe it was this. Is that it? I don't. Look at Boston Rob's starting to tearing up. And you get a behind-the-scenes look at the Mikey Show. Because you sit in here in the studio while we do the show on Friday. It's pretty cool. Only thing is, when you call in, you better know your Mikey Show stuff. Now, here's how it works.
You got to get to five points, and you just take one or two or three-point questions. Ones are easy. Threes are hard. And the first person to five points is the winner. So there you go. Call us right now, 570-1053. We've got a whole new batch of questions, and they vary in degree of hardness. Had another tarantula yesterday on our front yard. Come on. Wow. They like your house. I know our doorbell rang, and it was the kids across the street. It was the tarantula. It was the tarantula. Let me in. Yes. Let me in there. And it was the kids across the street, and they were like, hey, we just wanted you to know there's a tarantula in your front yard. And I was like, really? Oh, no. And I ran out there, and it was all brown, and it was crawling towards the house on the grass. How fast? How fast? Yeah. It was actually, I thought it made some pretty good time. I think it's in Tucson right now because this was last night. Come on, come on. Let's be serious here. I would say. Can you outrun it? Oh, yeah. I could for sure outrun this guy. For sure. I'm almost positive. I'm not going to guarantee I could outrun it. I think your legs are a little longer. Yeah, not much, but it took me. Yeah, but close. It took this guy, I'd say, he covered a foot in about 30 seconds. Well, it's a cheetah.
There's a cheetah. There's a cheetah. They are hideous looking. All hairy and everything. So my neighbor took it with an umbrella, had it get on the umbrella, and then he walked it over to this little canyon area and told him to mind his own business. Take a hike. That's right. I walked in the room last night, and our cat, Sydney, was on the bed. And I said, hey, dude, you got to go. We have company coming over. You got to leave the house. Did you put it on an umbrella? And I moved him out to the canyon. I said, it's so uncomfortable, but you have to leave the house. That's awesome. And just call us later in the week and we'll see. You painted your microwave to look like a cab. That's right.
My wife was like, how come the microwave says taxi? P1 California kid. How are you? Good, Mikey. How you doing? I'm good, man. California kid. How old are you? I'm 25. And how long you been listening? Ever since I moved to San Diego about a year and a half ago. One and a half years. And all right. Well, I'm going to tell you, you have a little bit of an uphill battle. And the reason is because. Some of these questions may go deeper than a year and a half, but we'll just have to wait and see. P1 Pac-Man is on the line. Yes, sir. How you doing? Good. How are you? I'm good. What's up, Pac-Man? What's up, Pac-Man? Pac-Man, how old are you? I am 33. 33. How long have you been listening? Oh, man, since back when Blunder was with you guys. Wow. The fish. It's probably three, four years. I think I've actually heard every one of the bear stories in all this. That's crazy.
California Kid, do you know what he means when he says the bear stories? You know, I remember a bear story on the 28-hour show last year. I remember joking around about a bear rape whistle. That's it. Let me tell you something. If you listened to the 28-hour show, you got a pretty good chance of winning. Yeah. Because you get a lot of info on those 28-hour shows. Oh, yeah. Hey. There it is. That's right. There it is. Watch out. California Kid, we'll start with you. You get to pick a one, two, or three-point question. You got to get to five points. What do you want? Let's start with a two, Mikey. You got it. Name the show Eddie was on with Lorenzo Lamas. Oh, I know this. I think that's a fairly... That could be it. That could be a one-pointer. It was not The Bachelor. No, it was not. Can I steal, Mike? No, you cannot. There is no stealing. Oh, bro, you don't have it on DVD? Oh, I don't. I don't. Sorry, Matt. What's the matter with you? California Kid, you don't know? I don't know. Oh, come on. Take a guess. Oh, I have... I think Eddie, what show would he be on? Yeah, what would he be on? Like, think about it, dude. Totally. Dude. Come on, guy. Biggest Loser. That is not... That is not right. How dare you? How dare you? How dare you? How dare you? The answer is...
Renegade. Holy. He was actually an extra on the show, Renegade. No, no, no. I mean, like in the background. Extra awesome. That's right. That's right. What do you mean by that? P1 Pac-Man? Yes, sir. I will take Sky's route, and I will play it safe with a two. Yeah. Your two-point question is, name two of the seven inductees to the first annual Mikey Show P1 Hall of Fame. Just name two of them. Wow. Two. Only two? P1 Quimby, P1 Spaceboy. Nice. You got it, dude. Look at you. Look at you. Look at you. This guy's good. He's good. He's good. California kid, what are you going to do? Do another two-pointer. Another two. Who had to pick Skye up from work when she had her second-degree son burned? That'd be her mom? That is correct.
Technically mother. Yes, that's right. I prefer mother. I never call her mother. We got a tied game. Hello, mother. Shut up. It's I. Pac-Man. Yes, sir. What would you like? Another two, please. You got it. This is a great question. When Skye straightens her hair, what is her name? Boy, that's a tough one. That right there, that is Mikey Show trivia right there. That's a good one. That is a far out question. Oh, boy. I'm not sure. I will say her name is Bathhouse. That is incorrect. I think it is. That is incorrect. I do believe you're correct. Incorrect, but funny, yes. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's not Bathhouse. It's Jacuzzi Club. That is amazing.
When Skye straightens her hair, it doesn't happen often. In fact, I'd say it happens maybe once at the most twice a year. And we call her Savannah. That's right. California kid, what will you do? Let's do another two-pointer, Mike. Look at you guys. Who was fired from the show for putting the F-word on the air 17 times or so? That's a good question. Thank you. Let's say Boy Blunder. That is correct. Deductive reasoning. I like it. I like it. Hey, Pac-Man. Oh, I wish that would have been my two-pointer, but what are you going to do? Let me tell you something, Pac-Man. Well, I'm going to have to play the odds, and as much as I don't want to, I'm going to go Rob's route and try the three-pointer. There you go, pal. Oh, no. It never works for Rob. It never works. I know. It's going to go down in flames, I'm sure. Here we go.
Who on the show is such a weather nerd that he thinks of hurricanes as celebrities? Oh, boy. I'm going to go Sean. That's incorrect. If you think back over the years, they are celebrities. You have Andrew, who is probably one of the biggest. I was 89. You don't need to bust out your lungs right now. Katrina is the biggest one, obviously. Ike made an impact not too long ago. It was Gustav. Are you kidding me? Yeah. That was me, actually. Meteorologist Mike. Well, that is correct. I do like them, and I think that they're very interesting. So, greetings. California kid, you just need a one-pointer to take this sucker. Let's do it. Your one-point question is, who is the captain of Team Awesome in the Battle of the Sexes? The captain of Team Awesome is Eddie. That is correct.
Is correct. Well done. Very well done. There is no way in the world that I would ever, ever feel right about myself not letting Pac-Man come in the studio as well. Thank you. The guy killed it, man. He was great. Awesome. So, yeah, both of you guys get to come in. Very well done, guys. Thanks a lot. Hang on the line. They were good. Questions. I liked the questions. A good bunch of questions. Yeah. Let's see. What have we not done? It was pretty juicy information. A lot, actually. How about this? The nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, class of 2009, have been announced. Oh. How about that? Oh, okay. My Wild Cherry. Wild Cherry. Are they in there, Scott? Wild Cherry. What about Lemon Drops and Sandals? They're already in there. White Tiger. White Tiger. Is White Tiger in there? Wall of Voodoo. Wall of Voodoo. Wall of Voodoo. Wall of Voodoo. Wall of Voodoo. Wall of Voodoo. Wall of Voodoo. They're dynamite. Boston Rob. Yeah. Boston Rob. Yeah. Come on. Me. Come on, dude.
Cher. Sonny. Sonny? We've given everyone that deserves it. I don't know who else would be left. Talk, talk. Eagle Eye Cherry. Yes. Alan Parsons Project. Dishwalla. Beautiful, beautiful band. Candlebox. Blind Melon. Come on, come on, come on. Oh, Dixie's Midnight Runners. Yeah, they're in there. Yes! That was it. That was it. Done. Did Sally Struthers have a band? I don't. Maybe not. I just was taking a... I know Don Johnson had a great hit. Great start beat. Great song. Oh, well, Patrick Swayze. Yeah, Patrick Swayze. Patrick Swayze. Why is he saying that? Why? Why?
Can you say that? Is that on there? Swayze. Swayze. Swayze. Chumbawamba. Chumbawamba. No, that's something. This guy says not on me. No, you guys. Musical Youth. Oh, Sonic Youth. Cher. You already said Cher. Mariah Carey. Soul Asylum. Taco. Matchbox 20. You already said it. No. I didn't. Murray Head. Maybe it would help you guys to know that you cannot be nominated. Men Without Hats. Unless. New Country. You had to have your first single or first album come out 25 years ago. What about New Country? That changes everything. New Country. Or Big Country. Any of those will do. You can't have had a hit, what, in the last two years? No. Men Without Pants. It's not abandoned.
Wait a minute. You look on that list right now for men without pants. They deserve it. They deserve it. They're not a man. Finally. You look on them. No. It's like a induction. It's going on the board. No. Oh, I don't know then. Who cares, really? Stomp. Stomp? That's not a band. Yeah. Yeah, whatever. Has anyone said Cher? Blue man group. Stop with your Cher obsession. We all have it, don't we? No, we don't. No one does. No one does. The Cranberries. Not really. Yeah, the Cranberries. Yeah. The Buggles. Jermaine Jackson. Ooh. Natalie Ambruglia. There we go. I'm torn about that one. No, you get it. Natalie Portman. I'm not even a singer. Natalie Cole. Natalie from Facts of Life.
Natalie Merchant. Can we just focus on the list? Man, if Cher's not on there, I don't even know the way to go. Peter Cetera. America. Shaquille O'Neal. Brad. DLO. Dan Sanders. We're going to get it eventually. If Dan Sanders isn't on there, why are we even playing? Hey, hey. My favorite was the hey, hey. Hey, hey. All right, give us one. Give us one, Sky. Give us one. It's just one. Bobby Womack. Oh, yeah, yeah. I was going to say him next. Bobby Farron. Wasn't he a sales guy with us at Dallas? Yeah, dude. I thought Bobby Womack was like, yeah. Hey, Bobby, get Womack on it. Hey, dude. Did you call Womack? You guys are great. So, ice to an Eskimo, okay? You guys are really great. Number one salesperson, Clear Channel Dallas, two quarters in a row. Hey, Womack. Hey, Womack.
Oh, look who came in, Womack. Oh, Bobby Womack. Guess who's buying drinks, all right? Oh, he's buying? Guess who just got a big bonus. Thank you for gracing us with your presents, Womack. Gin and tonic for the kids. That's right. Somebody get a gin and tonic for him. Beef eater. Hey, Woodsy, you should talk to Womack, all right? He's going to tell you exactly how to do it, all right? Really? Can you kick me on the call? That's right. What, Womack? You're not going to tell you? You're just going to sip on that orange juice and cranberry? What is that? So cool for the room, is that it? Yeah, Womack. Ordering sapphires, is that it? Womack. Can I tell you the other people? Womack. Patrick Benatar. The Stooges. Pat Benatar's name was Patrick, right? As far as I know, it was Patrick. There's Alicia Keys on there. Alicia? No. Who did you say? The Stooges. Oh, Hootie and the Blowfish. Hootie and the Stooges? There's a song. Oh, that's good. Use the hands.
What's going on? I don't know what's going on. That would make a dolphin cry. That's true. That hurt their ears, man. It's like sonar. That is awful. What did we miss? What's on there? Okay. Little Anthony and the Imperials. Wanda Jackson. What? Sheik. And now here are the ones that you're going to know. Sheik. Oh, good. War. I know them. Who? Cisco kid. Jeff Beck? I know that guy. Oh, yeah, Beck. Hey, wasn't he a sales guy? Hey, what's up, Beck? Jeff Beck just walked in. Everybody get quiet. I guess somebody knows how to sell just walking in the room. Yeah, dude, let's go see Big Fat Paul. That's great, dude. That's great. Get him a Bombay Sapphire. Yeah, get that guy Bombay, all right? It's all he drinks. Jeff Beck just closed a Big Fat Paul deal, all right? Yeah, dude.
California Kitchen or whatever. It's great. What are you, Baja Cala Kitchen or what is it? Baja Kitchen. What did you do, Beck? That's great, bro. Hey, Beck. Why don't you come over here and sit down? Why don't you talk to Womack, all right? They're real good. He's with Woodsy, all right? Teaching him how to sell. Oh, good. That's great. He's the guy with a green bottle in his hand. It's called Sapphire. Get him another one, all right? Apparently the kid's buying drinks for everybody. Nice. That's real great. And then finally we have Run DMC and Metallica. Metallica is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They're nominated. Kanye West has the number one downloaded song on iTunes. It's called Love Lockdown. And so we just instituted here in the studio. We're in the middle of a love lockdown. We're in the middle of a love lockdown. We don't know when it ends. Let me out. 570-1053. Our text number, 35253. Dane Cook has been evicted from his place. What? It's a true story. What? Yeah, it's a true story. That's crazy. When we get back, I'll give you the details about Dane Cook getting evicted and him fighting it. Don't go away. I'll tell you why, too. This is the Mikey Show. So you're the guy who pooped in my tuba.

He knows what he's doing there. KIA! No. He has a look on his face right now. And it's the same exact look.
that the guys that are in Houston, as the NASA astronauts are up in, what do they call those guys? Not air traffic control, but space control. What are those guys called? Ground control. Ground control. Major Tom. That's right. He had that look on his face that they have when they're very serious and they're looking up at the big screen watching the shuttle. Right. As he was doing what he knew was wrong. Oh, well, yeah. He had a look like he was very... Yes. He still thinks he's smarter than everybody else with that look. Yeah, he definitely thinks he's better than us. Like, how great would that look be if he were wearing glasses? Oh. On the, like... It would be perfect. Like at the end of his nose. Yes. Yes. K-I-O-Z! How dare you do? You know what you're doing. Wow. It's K-I-O-Z. K-I-O-Z! Not yet. I'm going to try this again. It's a very simple system. Yeah. K-I-O-Z-F-M, San Diego. Hit it. How dare you? What is your problem? You're a jerk. You are, brother. Wow. Studying the map of the space shuttle. Yes. And its progress. Oh, really? Oh, really? A what? A cloud. Uh-huh. How dare your face. Yeah, thank you. That's what I meant. Oh, right. Uh-huh.
He's out of control, this guy. You're going to be here in a few weeks, man. That's true. Yeah, consider that. Yeah, think about it. All right, cookie? A little cookie. Yeah, cookie. Dane Cook is not going to fight this eviction. He was going to fight it. Yeah, he had been fighting it. Yeah. Why were they evicting him? How do you get evicted? Okay, well, so he has this apartment in L.A. Don't we all? And, I mean, he was getting complaints like over and over again and warnings and complaints and written up and the homeowners association. Shut up. You're unfunny. No, Rob. That's not what they were. That joke sucks. Quit stealing my material. Is that like actual audio of the complaints? I mean, these things may be accurate, but not what was going on here. And make a good movie, will you? Oh, well, that's another good point. But, yeah, his problem with his neighbors was the fact that he would let his dog. poop all over the complex and not pick it up. And he'd get written up. What was it doing with the waiting? That was a good movie. Why do you look like Ryan Reynolds? That is true. That's a legitimate complaint. I kept getting them mixed up. That poop smells like good luck Chuck.
Another legitimate complaint. So, yeah, so his neighbors had finally had enough. And the apartment manager sent him an eviction notice. He fought it in the courts. And one of his arguments for fighting it was he said that he would suffer a creative hardship if he was forced to move. Because he specifically chose that apartment building because John Belushi and Steve Martin. both used to live in that apartment building, and he believes he gets creative juices from being on that property. You suppose it's a joke, like he meant that as a joke, or was he, do you think he's... In his court papers. It's court papers. In the court papers, the quote is, I know that the presence of those that have lived there before me affects me deeply and provides me with inspiration, end quote. So he was arguing that. He was offering the owner of the apartment building $40,000 as like, and I'm sorry, get all new sod, whatever you need to do. He was offering them 40 grand? 40 grand to kind of make it all go away and to allow him to stay in that building. Do you guys wish that you could offer somebody $40,000? Yeah.
because your dog pooped and you just want to say, hey, let's call it a day. I could genuinely, I could offer somebody $15 in cash. I'd have to go to the ATM first. Yeah, I would too. And I'd have to buy a box of Lucky Charms so that I had change to be able to offer them said $15 to call it a day. But $40,000 is a lot of money. It's a lot. Yeah, but the apartment turned him down, said, no, we don't think so. And then finally, Dane has given up the fight and will now have to live in his $7 million mansion. Oh, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I felt really bad for him. Is that for real, $7 million? Yeah, he has a $7 million home in the Hollywood Hills, but preferred to live in this apartment because of the creative mumbo-jumbo that was going on there because of John Belushi and Steve Martin used to reside there. Let me tell you something. When we first talked to Jamie Cook, he didn't have a $7 million home. Oh, no. First time we talked to him. I'm not even sure if he had an apartment. Dude, for real. Oh, yeah. For real. Yeah, he was honored that we knew who he was. Yes. I heard a guy on these little bootleg tapes, and this was before Eddie and I were working together, and Sky was producing the show as an intern.
I said, hey, I really like this guy, Dane Cook. See if you could get him on the show. And she did. And he came on and he was like real happy that somebody wanted to talk to him. And I said to him, this was, man, it had to be 10 years ago. Had to be 10 years ago. And I said, dude, how are you not a star yet? And then he blew up and it was so weird. It was like, it was such a crazy climb to success. And something has happened there. I'm not sure what's going on with Dane Cook. He's peaked. Yeah, I think he's peaked. He started doing movies and everybody kind of started to catch on. Except for Waiting. I guess Ashley's a big fan of Waiting. Ashley loves the movie Waiting. I thought it was funny. She really enjoyed it. It made me laugh. Ted Nugent says he will help keep Paul McCartney safe while Paul McCartney is in Israel.
I guess Paul McCartney is going to be performing in Israel on Thursday as part of the country's 60th anniversary celebration. That was awesome. What? That got me nugent. Yeah. Who knew? And I guess McCartney's beginning. Eddie's doing it with a bow and arrow. He's protecting him with a bow and arrow. And ever since this was announced that McCartney would be performing, he's been getting some death threats. And Ted Nugent heard about it. So Ted says that he's trained with military specialists and various law enforcement agencies. And he feels that he's qualified to protect a high-profile person like Paul McCartney. He said they may differ on the things they choose to eat and choose to wear and how they live their life every day. You know, Nugent says he is up for the job. You guys know who Daisy De La Hoya is? Daisy De La Hoya? What's that? Contestant on Rock of Love. Oh. It's not Oscar's wife? Former contestant on Rock of Love. I don't know. Is it Oscar De La Hoya's wife? If she was on Rock of Love, I don't think so. Her daughter? Does he have a daughter of that age? No. A family member? I don't know.
The last name's not very common. She's getting her own dating show. Oh, good. Yeah. So, Daisy of Love. We all are, aren't we? That's what it's going to be called. Daisy of Love. That makes perfect sense. On VH1. Yeah. On Sean TV, I'm sure. That's right. Oh, okay. Let's see. Got breaking news. What? For fantasy footballers out there. The Steelers, Willie Parker, out this weekend for Monday Night Football as a injury. Oh. Sprained knee. So, who should we get? Well. If he can get Rashard Mendenhall, then he's going to get the start. Oh, Missy, not happy. Missy is a Pittsburgh Steeler fan. She is not digging hearing that. Let's see. New York City police say they arrested more than a dozen people for stealing pieces of Yankee Stadium. Oh, wow. Hey, Shauna just IM'd me, and she said that Daisy De La Hoya is Oscar's niece. Oh. Thank you, Shauna. Isn't that what my dad said to my godfather too? He said go to the niece, right? Nurse is the line. That was it. That was a clip. Yeah, so people were stealing it.
And I don't know why they won't let them have a piece of them. They're going to blow it up. What's the big whoop? Well, because I know that they were selling stuff, right? Like the seats and stuff. I heard that they were selling parts of the stadium. So maybe that's why? I don't know. It's got to be something. They must have taken something. That was valuable? Yeah, real value. Yeah, they took the cash register from the store. The Yankees team store. They forgot to mention that was the piece they took. Derek Jeter's bra. Yeah. I'm so happy. This made my day. Democratic vice presidential. Thank you. It's Derek Jeter. Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden. He needs to shush. Yeah, he says some strange stuff, doesn't he? You hear about the latest? What's that? Little guy, shush. He called the... Barack Obama anti-McCain commercial. Terrible. And then he wanted to take it back.
Yeah, Joe Biden did an interview with the CBS Evening News last night when he was asked about it. And this is a specific commercial that paints John McCain as out of touch. They show, you know, 80s footage of John McCain in funky clothes and then images of disco balls and huge cell phones the size of toasters. And then talk about how McCain says he doesn't know how to use a computer. He doesn't know how to send email. And so basically this was described to Joe Biden. And he said he's never seen it, but he thinks that it's terrible. And if somebody had run the idea past him, he wouldn't have done it. And then he goes home for the night. That is not really operating on the same page. No. That's not. So he goes home for the evening. The Obama camp gets wind of this and issues a statement saying that Joe Biden was responding to. Just kidding.
Biden was asked about a commercial he had never seen and was reacting merely to press reports. Having now reviewed the ad, it's even more clear to him that given the disgraceful tenor of McCain's ads and their persistent falsehoods, his campaign is in no position to criticize. I spoil my running mate. Sometimes he speaks when he should listen. 570-1053 is our phone number. Call us right now. You can call us at the beginning and end of every show. We do an open phone segment. So even if you are really depressed about part of Black's Beach being closed, you can call us. There was a little bit of a cliff collapse over there, Black's. So scary. So now people that like to sunbathe in the nude. Rob, we need to figure out what we're going to do this afternoon now. All right. We'll find a new spot. Yeah, it was supposed to be Tuesday Black's Beach Day, right? Yeah, well, that's what it is. How about dog beach? Maybe, yeah. It's a good substitute. You walk out there naked. Yeah, you probably shouldn't. Probably shouldn't. We've got the wiener dog. All right, I get it. I think everybody saw that. Well, you know, they like to go on their walk and flop. Walk and flop.
That is weird. It's a play on the walk and talk. Oh, right. I actually go on it. Walk and talk. Really weird. Oh, my God. We're all different. Definitely. Definitely. We're going to lie down on that walk. We just let it all hang out. Well, that sounds very therapeutic. We're all individuals, aren't we? I don't know. Like snowflakes, I guess. Describe it. Yeah. So what's the deal, Sky? Did they close the nudie part of it? Well, they say the north part of Black's Beach is closed after 100 tons of the cliff, sandy rocky cliff, came down yesterday morning. Witnesses say they didn't see anybody there at the time of the collapse. I heard there was a lot of cracks there. Oh, no. So they brought out cadaver dogs just in case, just to check. And, you know, luckily nothing turned up. So signs have been posted. Posted. Caution tape is up. Everyone be careful. Caution tape is up. Yep. Caution tape. 570-1053 is the number. Beginning and end of every show. Open phones. Go ahead and give us a call. I don't know. Anything else you want to talk about? P1 scene. Hey, what's going on, Mike? What's up, dude? Hey, first off, I just want to apologize for Ashley. The reason that everyone calls her part, or you called her part.
Because I wanted you to play that clip yesterday, the P.O.D. one. That is right. That's right. This is the guy that called in and he said, can you play the P.O.D. song? I was trying to ask Ashley if she would put the song up for me, but this came out. Yeah, sure. We could do that. Will you put it up, fart? I said, will you put it up, fart? I didn't hear that all the way. Yeah, sure. I could play it again for you if you didn't. If you didn't really hear it the first time, there's no problem playing it. Yeah, sure. We could do that. Will you put it up for it? No. No. I appreciate your apology, P1 Stain. I accept your apology. It's nice of you. For sure. Thanks for that. For sure. Thank you. P1 Crane? What's happening? What's happening? Hey, I was wondering if you had any more poll updates on the boy blunder. Yeah, Ashley, I think, has them. Yeah, sure, we could do that. Will you put it up, Farn? Hey, you stopped that. Stop that right now. Uh-oh, Sean said. Oh, no, Sean said. Got him in a laughing fit. Yeah, sometimes when you laugh so hard. Uh-oh. Anybody know how that poll was? Oh, no. Ew!
I'm sure that people wanted Boy Blunder to go as Boy Blunder. I would guess. Not Producer Rick? Not Producer Rick. To me, he definitely sounds like he'd be, you know, maybe DJ Blunder, Boy Blunder for sure. Yeah, for sure. MC Blunder. We're going there right now. We're going to give the results to you live here on the radio. Wow! Live on the radio. We're going to give you the results. Are you ready? Ladies and gentlemen, the results are 92% prefer Boy Blunder and 7% prefer Producer Rick. Wow. And he will keep the name Producer Rick. There is no doubt about it. There is no doubt about it. Thank you. Let's see. P1 Ponce, are you there? Yeah, how's it going, guys? What's going on? Hey, so today's my day off. I'm running my errands with my daughter in the car, listening to the show. She's loving it. Not even making a sound. Last time you played that Ashley singing Hootie and the Blowfish, she looked at me like, what the hell are we listening to? And started crying. Oh, wow. How old is she? We all reacted. She will be a year old in two weeks. Oh, wow. You're making the kid cry. That's where it started. Imagine if she was a nanny.
And trying to sing your kids to sing them to sleep. Thank you for the call, Ponce. And Ashley, thanks for putting that up fart. We appreciate that. Mikey Show. I love that clip. Mikey. Yes. P-H-I to the L-L-Y. What's up? What's happening? What's up, dude? Just wanted to point out to Rob that I guess the Red Sox aren't the only team from New England that can't be the team from Florida. Wow. Wow. Uncalled for it. Rob was stone-faced on that. It took him a second to process it. Can you have a bad day, Philly's Finest? I'm doing pretty good. No, no, no. I said we can't have a bad day. Uh-oh. Huh? Huh, champ? Huh? Your voice just cracked, Rob. Yeah. I am. Dude, really? You got Boston's number. You know what? You're right. I guess this is, you know, the road to the big game, dude.
Right? They just own us now. It's not going through New England this year. As a matter of fact, it will be going through San Diego. Thank you very much. I thought you were Philly's finest. I am, but I'm just saying. You're confused. When I get a chance to rip on Boston, I take every chance I can get. Oh, all right. I respect that. I respect a good heckle every once in a while. Thank you, Philly's. We'll both be in the playoffs. Just show them your ring, Rob. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which one do you want to see? I'm like Sonic the Hedgehog over here. Just collect the rings, kid. That's fantastic. Lovely and talented Missy is up next today on the Nooner. She's got your all-request lunch hour. And we hope you listen. Love you, man.
