Wall Street bailout2008 presidential campaignPoway High controversypublic displays of affection28 hour radio showcelebrity typecastingaddiction recoveryChristian faithradiobailoutelectionobama
Sky unpacked the failed Wall Street bailout meeting, Joe Biden's family tragedy, and the campaign arguments surrounding Barack Obama's speaking stumble and Katie Couric's passport question for Sarah Palin. Caller P1 William accidentally drove into Mexico, while Poway student Ashley and her mother challenged a teacher over a Hooters shirt and caller Erin defended her extreme discomfort with public affection. The crew built running comedy from Mikey volunteering to be Ryan Seacrest, Ashley bringing the flu into the studio, a hypothetical NSYNC-versus-New Kids brawl, and Luke Perry's visible frustration with 90210 questions. Mikey closed on a serious note by connecting his childhood insecurity and addictions to the Christian faith he credits with restoring his life.
What happened, in order
Bailout Shouting Match
Sky explained how a tentative $700 billion Wall Street rescue deal collapsed at the White House, then the cast turned it into a President Bush bit about printing trillions and mentally checking out of office.
Wrong Turn to Mexico
Caller P1 William said he missed the San Diego freeway split while phoning his wife and accidentally drove across the border into Mexico instead of reaching work.
Hooters at Poway High
The hosts debated a Hooters ad in the Poway High newspaper, then student Ashley and her mother described how a teacher sent her home for wearing a modest Hooters shirt and how they challenged the decision.
PDA Panic
Caller Erin said even hand-holding in public disturbed her, prompting Mikey, Sky, Eddie, Ashley, and Boston Rob to test her boundaries with increasingly specific dating scenarios.
Obama Off Script
The cast played Barack Obama stumbling over health-care remarks and argued that the press excused a revealing teleprompter failure that would have hurt John McCain or Sarah Palin.
Palin Passport Fight
Katie Couric's question about Sarah Palin obtaining a passport only the year before split the room over whether foreign travel is relevant preparation for the vice presidency or an unfair proxy for knowledge.
Biden's Family Tragedy
Sky recounted how Joe Biden became emotional while remembering the crash that killed his wife and daughter, injured his sons, and nearly caused him to leave politics.
Mikey Show Idol
Mikey proposed an outdoor singing contest for the 28-hour show, volunteered to host as Ryan Seacrest, and immediately watched the crew turn his recorded words into a recurring joke.
Flu in the Studio
Ashley admitted she had been sick all week, and the cast erupted over her exposing everyone shortly before the physically demanding 28-hour broadcast.
Boy-Band Brawl
The room argued whether NSYNC or New Kids on the Block would win a fistfight, with Donnie Wahlberg's toughness set against Joey Fatone and Justin Timberlake.
Luke Perry's 90210 Shadow
The hosts analyzed Luke Perry's crossed arms and clipped answers about the 90210 reboot, then debated whether typecasting or limited range kept him from a larger movie career.
Mikey's Recovery Story
Mikey described childhood insecurity, addiction to alcohol and cocaine, and his belief that accepting Jesus Christ gave him hope and began rebuilding his life.

At 6.03. It was a mess yesterday in Washington. The Wall Street bailout talk stalled, and a meeting at the White House turned into a shouting match. Huge upset in college football last night. Number one, USC falls to Oregon State, 27-21. Head coach Pete Carroll says the team just didn't perform. They were on point on everything they were trying to do, both sides of the ball, and the kicking game was solid and all of that. They were ready, and they just beat us. This back tent is ridiculously hard. As much as we try to get ready for it, they got us tonight. We did not play well. Shocking. Really shocking. This USC team was one of the best college football teams I've seen in a long time when I saw the game against Ohio State. Defensively, just studs everywhere. They probably have maybe seven to eight number one draft picks. on their team this year. What do you think is going on? I think it's one of those things where you've got to focus for every single game. You can't look past any team. USC is playing these powerhouse teams every week, and then they play a team in their own conference like Oregon State. I think they just look past them. It's a shock. That's crazy. Crazy. 570-1053. Come on. Give us a call.
Beginning and end of every show, it's your program. You get to call in and be the star. Be the focus. 5701053 is our phone number and our text number is 35253. So we would love to hear from you on text message or on the phone. And we got a couple of P1 trivia winners in the studio with us right now. No! It's pretty awesome. Come on, Johnny. Yeah, that's Sean, right? He doesn't like it when people come in the studio. He's got a bad attitude, Mike. Well, they take over the show, Mike. They do not. They don't, though. They routinely do. They routinely do. They got P1 Doug and P1 California Kid in the studio. And it's pretty cool, man. It's pretty cool to have him in. One of them works at the San Diego Sheriff's Department. Oh, best behavior. Ahoy, mate. We're all innocent. And the other one works at CIS Group. So, very cool. Very cool to have them in here today. One of them has a pretty interesting shirt on. What does it say? I can't see him. Really? What do you got? Really? I mean, we're going to roll. Sean, I'm with you. Sean, I'm with you. What? I'm completely out on the list. Maybe I changed my mind. And they should never be welcomed again. It looks like he had it made.
Or did he just handwrite it on there? Which is it? Handwriting or did you have it made? What does it say? It's a white t-shirt. Oh, my God. And it has black script on it. And it says, and I quote, show me the money. Exclamation. Oh, wow. You know what, Mike? I think I'm changing my mind. Yeah. So what must non-P1s think when they see this clown walking around town? Like, oh, there's a huge Jerry Maguire fan. Yeah. Wow. All right, Sean. We get it, bro. Oh, it's fantastic. Wow. It's fantastic. I love having P1s in the studio. Look at that. Whatever. Let's go around the room, introduce all seven of us while we load the phone lines up with you crazy animals. 570-1053. Call us right now, man. Anything you want to talk about, it's up to you. Just call us, say hi, talk about the 28-hour show. You can talk about TV last night. You can talk about anything you want to talk about. It is a...
an open forum where you get to use your cell phone or phone as a microphone for broadcast. So call us or text us at 35253. So we went out to dinner last night to that pizzacato, the place that brought the pizza last night. Oh, yeah. Brought the pizza last week. It's my favorite pizza. Oh, wow. No doubt, man. I like, let me tell you, we were having this pizza and halfway through it, I said to my wife, Rebecca, I go, this is it. I finally found my pizza soulmate. That is a pizza port? Dude, I even said that. I was like, here's the deal. Pizza port was my favorite pizza. And the reason was because the flavor of that sauce tasted so good. And I really loved the way the crust tastes, right? Okay. Pizzacato? Yeah. It's all of that. And a bag of chips. Nice. It's all that stuff I just said, right? But it's much, much lighter. It's not real heavy. Awesome. Healthier. Yeah, I mean, well, the deal is that, hey, Pizza Port is a great pizza. When you pick the box up, it weighs about 147 pounds. Dense. It's very dense. You know, it's very, very dense. And I love it. It's delicious.
the weight of that pizza, and it's packed with just as much flavor. And I love the crust, love the way it tastes. What kind of toppings did you get? We got to split because Rebecca only, well, her favorite kind of pizza is called margarita pizza, where they just take a pizza and throw a margarita at it. Wow. With salt or no. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's an option. Wow, that's funny. That used to be your favorite. That used to be, yeah. Hold the pizza. Yeah, hold the pizza. That was it. Oh, man. Yeah, the margarita pizza, it doesn't have any tomato sauce on it. It's just like garlic and olive oil and tomato and basil. Yummy. But my favorite type pizza is Hawaiian. So we got it half and half. We did a little half and half. Nice. Oh, man. Thin crusts. Yeah, yeah, their crust is pretty thin. Their basic average, you know, just the regular crust they use. is a pretty thin crust. It was great, man. Is that what we eat in New York? Yeah, yeah. You fold it? Yeah, you fold it over. Oh, yeah. That's what I'm talking about. You fold it over, it flaps. It's got like a, you form a big flap on it and you eat it. Forget about it. Yeah, it's great. Great. You know, sometimes when I used to own my pizza joint, I would have some guys that would come in there and they'd say, hey, you know, times are rough.
Need some protection. Yeah, you know, they said, hey, times are rough right now. Man, I can't get this bank to give me a loan, you know? I said, look, hey, me and you, we live in the same neighborhood. How about I help you out, right? You know, I help you. I can loan you some monies, you know? Oh, I don't know about that. Because at times, you know. You better ask about the interest. We're getting a loan, you know? I would ask. I know, right? I would ask. And I remember the guy says to me, he says, yeah, sure, what do I need to do for you? I said, ah, don't even talk like that to me. Please. That's good. Wow. I'll let you know if I need something. Yeah, yeah. Let's do it like that. I don't like that deal. I have my two friends here in the background. They say, ah, let them know, you know, if you need something one day. I said, yeah. Yeah, one day. You know, you never know. I might need some help with something. Nervous. Or someone. I was going to say, don't worry about it. But my friends here, they bring up a good point. What if someday, you know? Someday I show up at your house. Wait.
I need a driver for my van. Where's your van going? Don't worry about it. What are we doing in the van? There might be a couple of things in the back. I don't know. What's in the back of the van? Van stuff. Van stuff? A little bit of this, a little bit of that. You know what the deal was? I was taking the trash out of my place and the cans got too full. So I need you to take the trash over state lines. Yeah, yeah. The trash bag moves. Just hit it. Whack it. Why would it move? It shouldn't. Yeah, it shouldn't. Yeah, we had gophers in the back and we were putting the leaves in there and the gophers starting with them moving around. Really? You had gophers? That's quite a coincidence. Well, you're used to hitting them over the head. No, no, I'm actually not. Somebody taught us how to do that. No, actually, no, no, no. So, there it is. What were we talking about? We were talking about... Pizza. Oh, pizza. Pizza. My pizza place, you know? That's the New York pizza bit. There you go. Okay. New York pizza bit. We just want to help out our people in the neighborhood. That's all we want to do. Make it safe. Yeah, and maybe one day we go... Not because I wanted to, but my friends here, they said...
Hey, if you ever need something, why don't you tell them? Yeah, okay. We need something. We'll tell you one day. Hey, can you do us a favor? Can you do us a favor? Oh, no. Let's see. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy on the show. He does the pregame for the San Diego Chargers. Awesome. Who we got this week, Eddie? Oh, a little thing I like to call Raider Week. Oh, no. No, we're up to the Raiders. Everyone's safe. The city of San Diego is safe. Double the protection for the Chargers. Right. Wow. So I'm guessing one o'clock game. Correct. And Eddie is on the pregame and also participates in the fantasy freaking football show. Yeah. So that will be going on this weekend as well. Nice. Skye is our news girl. She is 30 years old. Hi. And she just had a wedding anniversary. I did. Eight years. Yeah. Eight years with the hub. Awesome.
And that's very, very fantastic. Anything new going on with you, Sky? You did a little nappy yesterday. Yeah, a little napping, a little lean cuisine for dinner. I know. What flavor? It was chicken in peanut sauce with some noodles. Oh, that sounds atrocious. I love the lean cuisine, but the hubby never lets me eat them. They're so healthy. I know. So he wasn't around for dinner last night. Eddie, do you have lean cuisines in your freezer? I personally don't. I don't know if the wife does. My wife. I'll have to double check. I think every woman has to buy lean cuisines. She'll bring it for lunch every once in a while. They're yummy.
They're not yummy. They're not yummy. They're not yummy. They're not. They're not yummy. Straight out of that plastic tray. Don't even bother to put it on a plate. You eat that and then afterwards you order a pizza. That's right. That's what Ashley does. Or go to McDonald's. Yeah. It's a perfect portion. That's right. Like your appetizer. It's a little appetizer pizza. What's your problem? I got no problem. Let's see. Shawnee, oh boy. Hi. He's our sound effects man. And you can call us, 570-1053. Open phones. We'll get to your phone calls here in a second. 35253 is the text. Sean does sound effects for us. Give him an example, Sean. Oh, wow. So loud. There it is. Ashley's our assistant producer. And she does so many things behind the scenes. She's doing a lot of stuff behind the scenes, does a lot of computer stuff. And she is also... The person on the show who has been on America's number one television program, American Idol. Oh. Wow. That's right. Thank you. Celebrity of sorts. Yes. And then there is Boston Rob. Hey. Speaking of celebrities. That's right. Let's be honest. That's right. Boston Rob, who is trying to get on the show Wipeout. Yeah. What's the update on that? Nothing.
Nothing going on? Good update. Yeah. Good update. Wish I had more for you. Nothing. They're showing a tarantula on NBC739 last night, or right now. It's like you're from Thor. Dude. I told you there was another one, right? Yeah. I tell you there was another one? Yeah. I'm not afraid of them because I don't want to touch them or anything. No. But you could. In fact, in the movie Indiana Jones. It's a movie. Indiana Jones is covered with tarantulas, but what you have to remember is they had to film that. I said to my wife, my wife goes, no, they're like black widows. They're like rattlesnakes. No, they're friendly. I said, no, babe, they're not. They couldn't have wrapped Harrison Ford in rattlesnakes and filmed it. They couldn't. Because the rattlesnakes, they bite him. And she's like, they'll bite. They will bite. You don't understand. Tarantulas, they will bite. I go, yeah, if you jab them with a pencil in their eye. I said, but Jake, he'll bite if you get him all stirred up. You know what I mean? Let's see. And then there is the artist formerly known as Sir Roosevelt Zethian Oates III, Jr., Esquire, M.D., DDS, president and CEO.
As seen on TV. Oh, my. Rosie. Rosie. Oh. That's right. And let's see. Let's take a couple phone calls. P1 Daniel is on the line. And it looks like Daniel. What's up, Daniel? Hey, how are you? Good, man. I just called about this $700 billion deficit issue. Yep, we were, Sky was saying that there was some shouting going on yesterday at the White House. It was a little weird, weird. Everybody's talking about the $700 billion deficit, but nobody's really saying anything about the National Organization. And it's affecting every Marine out of here. Okay, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait. Wait, dude, you were breaking up. Oh, no. Oh, no, he's breaking up. 570-1053 if you want to call. You were breaking up there, but you were saying that everybody mentions what and they don't mention what? Oh, we lost it. Sky.
What is the deal? What was going on yesterday? Okay, so you know how we're having this Wall Street meltdown, and the government wants to bail out these big companies so our whole economy doesn't shut down, but they are proposing taking $700 billion of taxpayer money to help out these companies. And so back and forth between the Democrats and the Republicans trying to work out this perfect Wall Street bailout plan, and it looked like by the afternoon hours yesterday, that they were really close to coming to an agreement, like an outline of this plan. And so everybody was kind of optimistic about it. And then it went to these talks in the White House with the president, Barack Obama, John McCain, and then some high-up congressional leaders. And that's when it just totally broke down. I guess one of the Republican leaders all of a sudden out of nowhere at the last minute offers this whole different alternative plan. And so, like, the chairman or whatever, I think it was the chairman, he gets all mad and is like, you're waiting until the last minute to bring this up. And then people start screaming. And the McCain campaign released a statement saying that it turned into a shouting match. Oh, wow. Yeah, that's right. I was there. Oh, here he is. President Bush will tell us what happened. That was crazy. President Bush, what happened? Well, you know.
I offered what I thought was a very fair plan on bailout companies that are really struggling right now, like ExxonMobil. No president. Wait a second. Starbucks. No. Hold on. Those are not companies that are struggling. Microsoft. That's bad. Trying to help out my brethren. Walmart. No, definitely doesn't mean anything. I mean, these are companies that are the backbone of America. How many billions of dollars do you want to give to these guys, though? $12 trillion. $12 trillion is what you want. You just made that number up right now. Well, just make money. I mean, we can do that, right? Yeah, yeah. Print it. Print it is what you're saying. Just copy. Go to Kinko's. Oh, yeah. It's cool, man. It's cool. Everybody getting all mad, yelling at me. That's right. I'm like, hey, leave W alone. Hey, wait a minute. Hey, President Bush, so I'm guessing that because you're going to be leaving the White House pretty soon, you must really be backing McCain. You're doing your best for McCain. You're trying your best to make this guy look good and everything, right? I really don't care, Mac. Yeah.
I'm out of here in a couple of months, and this whole bailout thing, I really don't care. I'm just making it look like I'm doing busy work. What do you mean? Like when people walk into the Oval Office, what are you up to? I shuffle papers around. You do? I'm always holding a pencil. You are? Yeah, like behind my ear. I make it look like, oh, I'm really thinking. I'm not. I got a PSP underneath my table. All right. What about? What about on your computer? Are you working on budgets, on putting together budgets and stuff like that, at least to help us in that regard? What's a budget? That's not good. Well, this is explaining a lot. I was trying to help you there, President Bush, by saying you were doing something. I'll be honest with you. I mailed it in like a year ago. I just don't care. That's not going to work. That's not good. What are you going to do now after November's over? What will you do when the new president's put into office? R.T. That's right, baby. That's your plan? Oh, we're going to have the biggest bash ever. Wow. You going to hire a band, or what are you going to do? Yeah, dude, Van Halen. Oh, Van Halen. Yeah, dude, Van Halen is the answer from our president. That's a quote. That's our president. That's right. That will be on the front page of the New York Times tomorrow. Yeah, dude, Van Halen. Wow. That's the lead story.
Well, thank you, President Bush. That kind of put it all in perspective for us. You got it. So they're starting up these Wall Street bailout talks again this morning. Oh, man. We'll see if they can make any progress for the weekend. Text us at 35253. Phone lines open 5701053. Open phones. Hey, Mikey, had a BLT yesterday. I'm slowly becoming as addicted as you are. Sounds so good. Mikey, I had a really interesting question. Do you think people are born right or left-handed or taught by their parents? That's P1 DJ Kujo. Wow. Well, my kid favors his left. No doubt about it. Oh, yeah. Oh, I didn't know that. Jake grabs everything with his left hand. Make sure he knows how to pitch, dude. Left-handed reliever, you'll have a job in baseball forever. Yes. It's awesome. I'm all in. I got to teach him how to throw it out on the left. It's probably going to be very creative. Yeah, he's a trip, man. He loves to take crayons and draw, and when you hold it, he always takes the left from his left and wants to start drawing with his left. He doesn't use his right hand. And even if you put it in his right hand, he immediately puts it over into his left hand. He wants to do everything with the left.
I'm to the club. Are you left-handed too, Ash? Uh-huh. There you go. Yeah. So maybe it's a very creative, there's a very creative thing behind it. And mathematical. He could be mathematical. Sure. You told us yesterday you're good at math. I mean, she doesn't even know what algebra is. Well, but she's mathematical. I gotta tell you. In other ways, in other ways. She is? She can add. I gotta tell you, Mike, my grandpa, Aidy, who's, God rest his soul, he's passed away. Oh, yeah. But he, when he was born, He was left-handed, and he would do this. Is his name 80, really? Well, his real name is Adolf. Oh, his real name was Adolf. Immigrated from Germany. I think 80 is a good idea. We did. I would, too. He passed away a while ago. Or Bill. One of the two. I would go with him. I mean, really anything. Yeah. Phyllis might have worked. You know what I mean? Saddam. Yeah. I mean, even that's lighter. That's a better option, I think, maybe, than Adolf. He was born left-handed because I'm left-handed, you know, and he would, like, use everything with his left hand. But back in the day, like, you weren't allowed to be left-handed. It was, like...
In class, they would make you be right-handed. So these teachers made him use his right hand in class. So eventually he was right-handed. So I guess you are able to teach it if you teach them when they're young because he became right-handed and then he was ambidextrous. I wonder what the deal is with the whole left hand. Like why back in the day they didn't want you using it. They just thought it was weird. I know I was seeing something on like CNN and they were talking about like presidents or presidential candidates being left-handed and how, you know, back in the day how it was frowned upon. So you had to like. you know, work harder and struggle more and they felt it made people like kind of smarter and more creative and opened another part of their brain. Right. I wonder if that's the deal, man. This is all coming together maybe for you guys as to why I'm so smart. Yeah, why she kind of gets it. It's all making sense now. That's right. Also explains why your middle name is Hitler. P1 William is on the line. What's up, dude? Hey, Mikey, I was wondering if anybody is as bad as directions as I am. I was supposed to be at work 25 minutes ago, and I am in Mexico. What? You're in? So I have to wake up at 5 o'clock this morning to take my wife to the airport. Right. Get on the 5, head back, and I'm trying to call her, you know, following the law, using my, you know, hands-off headset and all that good stuff. So I'm trying to call her, make sure she's through the terminal, and I just keep going south on the 5 instead of getting on the 163 north.
Oh, no. It's impossible. It's impossible. Oh, no. And so what happened? Was it a thing where you got in this line and you couldn't get out of it and that line went into Mexico? What exactly happened was I'm going south and I'm like, wow, this stuff really doesn't look familiar. A lot of Spanish people here. What's that donkey doing right there? No, I don't want chicklets. Yeah, I don't want those. I don't need that little ceramic Tweety bird. I see the Mexico border. The guy tells me to go right in order to turn around. I go right and end up going to the downtown area, having to stop, ask for directions from three different people because, ironically, you know, none of them speak English. Oh, man. Dude. Wow. And I was supposed to pick up three co-workers on the way to base today. So you're still in Mexico as we speak? As we speak. Oh, no. Hey, man, I have a prescription I need you to fill down there. I have a table I need you to pick up. It's going to be real heavy, though.
Hey, dude. Good luck, man. Good luck finding your way out of there. Oh, no. Appreciate it. 570-1053 is the phone number. And you can give us a call at the beginning and end of every show. So it's open phones. Give us a call. Mikey, when were you going to tell us the two movies you're going to watch for the 28-hour show? Any hints on the movies? We're not releasing it. P1 Karate Kid. Maybe just one hint. Okay. All right. I'll be very generous, and I'll give you two hints. Oh, wow. The first hint is Rocky III. I wonder what that means. The second hint is Titanic. Oh, gosh. Okay. I think I can figure this out. That's right. Those are the two movies we announced at about a week ago, and you probably didn't hear it, but yeah, they're out there, man. It's going to be Rocky III and Titanic. Eddie, last night a friend of mine asked me if Rocky III was Eye of the Tiger. Was that the movie Eye of the Tiger was in? It was not. Rocky II was the debut of Eye of the Tiger. Eye of the Tiger. There you go. Nice. But I think they played in Rocky III. Well, man, it's an anthem, isn't it? Thank you. Rocky III is Mr. T, Clubber Lang. You know it. You ain't so bad. You ain't so bad. Oh, no. Yeah. But you jibba-jibba. Let me tell you, dude, that Mr. T, at that time, dude, he was...
built. He looked awesome. He's a little older now, but man, at the time, dude was all cut. He looked good. Let's see. Mikey, is Ashley or Sky's feet ticklish? That's P1 Crazy Train. I don't know. Sky, isn't everyone's feet ticklish? Yeah, mine aren't that bad. I mean, you can definitely tickle them if you try and tickle them, but I can get a foot massage, no problem. Oh, wow. You know what that means. I don't know what that means. Watch Pulp Fiction. So, in other words, Skye, if somebody rubs their fingers and goes, tickle, tickle. It'll tickle. Right. Goochie, goochie. Yeah, it'll get you. It'll tickle, but, you know, you can put your hands on my feet and I won't freak out. There you go. I'm way more ticklish in other places, but my feet aren't that bad. Oh, yeah. Underarms. My boyfriend will be like, nini el ka'una. Like, try to, like, nini. Nini el ka'una. Yeah, that's my, like, type. He speaks Hawaiian. Nini el ka'una. Oh, it makes me, like. That's a very ticklish language. That's right. That's right. Yeah. Mikey Show. Hey.
You guys are wrong that Rocky III is the eye of the tiger because Apollo even gave him a whole speech when he took Rocky to his gym. Let me double check. I'll YouTube it. Hang on a second. We've got to you face it. Yeah, buffer the space. Yeah, we've got to go on FaceTube and double check this and try to buffer up our tubes. I'm watching the Rocky Marathon. Did you really? How was it? It was awesome. Yeah. How many movies did they make altogether? Five? Five. Six. Six. Okay, so Rocky Balboa was the sixth one. Right. That is a lot of Rocky movies. It looks like I was incorrect. It is from Rocky III. Eye of the Tiger. I could have sworn that it was in Rocky II because Rocky II, he gets a really sweet jacket with a tiger on it. Sweet. Are you serious? I thought that's where it came from. Completely unrelated. Awful is that, though? Right. Yeah, the jacket with the tiger. Yeah. It was cool at the time. I know, but how do you pull that off, a jacket with a tiger? Well, he finally, you know, The Rock, finally got some money. Uh-huh. And he was doing some commercials and things like that. And, you know, wanted to buy some stuff. And one of the things he bought was just really wicked.
Jacket. Leather jacket. What do you think of this thing? A tiger on it. It's really sweet. It's got a tiger on the back. It's like a tough animal. It looks good, right? Let me try it on. You told me what you think of it. Oh, wow. It's beautiful with a tiger on the back. Let's see. Pink says she hates both of her names. Yeah. She is not a fan of her birth name or her stage name. What's her birth name? Fart. I can see why maybe she's not a fan of either name. Yeah, sure. We could do that. Will you put it up, fart? Her birth name is Alicia Beth Moore. She doesn't like that? No. She says she cringes. She cringes every time she hears it. She doesn't like it. And her name Pink, she says she doesn't really feel that name either. She said her friends just started calling her that after they all watched Reservoir Dogs together. Because you have pink hair? No, she says it doesn't have to do with her hair. It came from Reservoir Dogs. Weird. Yeah.

It is awfully thick in some areas of the county. Definitely give yourself a little extra time here this morning. It will slow you down. We've got some slow traffic developing right now on the 805 northbound as you come up past pretty much the 94, heading up towards around the 15 connector before it freezes up here. So use some caution there. Emergency crews are at...
responding to that one. And South 15, just already, just a very much of a crawl from the 78 down to Via Rancho Parkway coming out of Escondido. I have a sensitivity to sugar. I'm dumb. I can't be a doctor. You are a doctor. Just because I like to be sensitive of other people's feelings. But it doesn't do any good. Sean. I'm very fair when it comes to tipping. Boston Rob. Everybody enjoys a good thumbs up once in a while. That's right. And Ashley. I'm really bad at describing things. On Rock 105.3. I gotta read about a dog. It's those low-tempo numbers, man. I like when you call a song on... It doesn't give away your age in any way when you call it low-tempo numbers. Welcome back. It is 640. The L.A. District Attorney's Office announced yesterday that no charges will be filed against Shia LaBeouf for his July car crash. You heard me just mention it. The Padres were able to beat the Dodgers 7-5, but L.A. wins the West when Arizona lost. Oh, wow. Hey, Eddie, weren't you saying that...
Steve Young. I guess they're going to retire his number, right? Yeah, 49ers are going to retire number eight on October 5th. The 49er game against New England. Wow. How about that? I wish I had a baseball cap with that signature on it. It's probably worth more now. It would probably be worth a lot. Now, Hall of Fame. Uh-oh. Hall of Fame even to the organization. You know what I'm saying? It's got to sting. Nobody will wear. They retire the number, right? Yeah. Nobody can wear the number eight. No one will ever wear that number again. Oh, my. Let's see. OMG, Mikey, I am so impressed with Ash. Most of the time she doesn't know anything. Do you guys remember As the Crow Flies? But the fact is she knows what ambidextrous is. I think that's amazing and I'm proud of her. That's P1Z. It's because I'm ambidextrous. That's right. She can use both her right and her left hand. Can you write with both and it looks legible?
Not writing, but I throw with both hands. I thought that was what ambidextrics was. You could write with both. Not necessarily. It isn't. You can do stuff. You can do stuff. You can be dominant with both hands. Like you can be dominant writing with your left, but then be dominant in sports with your right. Really? Yeah. That's pretty cool. Like with soccer, I'm kick with my right foot. With tennis, I played. I could do either, so I chose to. to be stronger with my left, so I play left-handed with tennis. I cut with my right hand. I'm more dominant throwing with my right hand. I eat with my left hand. You use a fork with your left hand? Yeah. No way. But I will cut things. I prefer to cut things with my right hand. That's weird. Oh, wow. Or throw, I throw with my right hand. But when you're using your fork... And you're just like scooping stuff or maybe you're eating cereal or whatever you eat with your left. Yeah. That's a trip. Does Jake eat with his left? Oh, yeah. Okay. Everything with a left. Everything. Everything with a left. He likes that left. Okay. Although last night I could have sworn I saw him use, maybe he did use his right for putting a spoon in his mouth. But most of the time I see him eating with the left. But when you said that, I go, no, I saw him last night with his right. It's weird. It's true.
I think I might be ambidextrous too. Yeah? Because I usually, I write with my right hand and I throw and everything, but I wave with my left. I do thumbs up with my left. Whenever I got to blow my nose with my left, I salute with my left. What about fist bump? Yeah. Well, actually, both. Yeah, yeah, you're right. You're really good at this. I'm stronger with the left, but I can do either. You're mocking. And that's not cool. What? It's not cool. No, no, no. P1 Chuck is on the line. Chuck, are you there? Chuck. What's up, Chuck? Yeah. Oh, he was online. I don't know what happened. I can type on my left. Can you really? That's amazing. That is amazing. A lot of things. Dude, Mikey's impression of Rocky is dead on hilarious. That's P1 Eye of the Tiger. Mikey, can you please play that first semester Spanish love song again? Please. That was funny. Thank you. That's P1 Dauber. I'll give Sean a couple of minutes. Sean, can you find that? I got it right here. Let's do it. Senorita, como te llamas? Me llamo Mike. Me llamo Mike. Actually is me llamo Mike. Donde esta el paño? Cumpleaños. Que hora es? Que hora es? Me gusta la casa roja.
Yo tengo dos bicicletas. Muchos gracias y de nada. ¿Cuántos años tienes? Un momento. The one semester Spanish Spanish love song. Ma es bonita. Mi gato es muy blanco. Perdóneme. Perdóneme. Cinco seis. Don't remember how. It's the one semester of Spanish, Spanish love song. Absolutely gorgeous. I don't think cinnamon crisps is... That's not Spanish? I thought that was... You can order them at... That's right. What about cinnamon crisps? Is that... Now are we speaking the language? Native? I'll double chat. To the area? I'll YouTube it. So, apparently, Nickelback says...
That they are really taking some high risks. They're getting very risky. And what they're really risking, they say, is radio play with their upcoming album that has very adult themes. Here is Chad Kroger. I'm going to have you play this one, Shawnee. Yep. A lot of people ask me, like, what did your mom think when you write songs like that? And I think it went out the window when I started writing songs that started off with, I like your pants around your feet. You know, when that one hit the radio waves, a lot of people were going, whoa, what did your mom think of that? They're like, she's cool. Most guys with tattoos get real scared when they hear it. So there he is talking about how crazy those lyrics are. called Dark Horse, and it'll be out in mid-November. Even the title's scary. It is. It's pretty intense. Dark Horse. Dark Horse. Who knows what could happen? But the first single from the album should be released to radio next week, so I'm sure we'll be breaking that down. Sky has a list. It's AOL's list. Ten albums to listen to before you die. Ooh. Let's all calm down. Sublime, sublime. What up?

Pearl Jam 10. Pearl Jam 10. Pearl Jam 10. You too. You too. You too. You too. You too. You too. You too. You too. You too. You too. You too. What about that Guns N' Roses? Play Akin Invisible. Skye, you need to check the list. Maybe you don't know if Akin's on there. You don't know if Akin's on there. She's not. She's not. She's kill O'Neal. Why do you have to dismiss it so quickly? Have you ever listened to this song?
Now I can die. Somewhere we all are deeply inside. A little piece of me dies every time I hear this. We're exactly like that. We're exactly the same in that way, Eddie, except that big piece of me dies every time I hear it. This guy's gay? Yeah, he just said it. I can't believe it. It is shocking. I don't believe it, at least not by listening to the music. I mean, he's talking about a chick. I'd be in the locker room. Lakers. There he is. Dirty Dancing soundtrack. Oh, yeah. Hello. So good. But not on here. Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves soundtrack. Oh, Bryan Adams do what up. Yeah. Think about it. Should be on there. Fade out of Compton, M.W. Oh, yeah. God, this list is stupid. Elvis Presley. It's not my Elvis, I bet. Elvis Presley, Bruce Wayne shoes. No. Oh, wow. Genesis.
Hugs take such delight and pleasure. Invisible touch. Oh, okay. Phil Collins? No. Peter Gabriel. Culture Club. Suzy Q. Suzy Q. What? Two hearts. Two hearts that beat us. One, two, one. I was like, where have you been? Live below. Like number one right now, I think. Cover girls. Oh, God. Dre, The Chronic. The Jets. Eminem? Expose. Benny and the Jets. Seals and Croft. The Divinals. No. The Eurythmics. No. Yes, Eurythmics. Oh, Madonna. That's a great guest. It's got to be out there. Like a virgin. Like a virgin. Like a virgin? True Blue. Yes, Sean. True Blue. The album you need to hear before you die. The Madonna album True Blue. Not Immaculate? Immaculate? Isn't that a best of? Don't you mean the Immaculate Collection? A best of album? It happened. That's great. I mean, it's a great album. Oh, man. Ashley said whatever, man. If you guys want to play like this, it makes sense. I mean, if you're going to listen to Madonna, it should be a best of album. How about that? Right? There it is. Right? Yes. How about...
That one. Oh, no. Do it, Eddie. What about Van Halen Immaculate? Is that on there? Is that on there? Check the list. I just don't need to. Lemon drops and sandals. Yeah, lemon drops and sandals. Ever. No lemon drops. No doors. This is wasting my time. I know it. All right, fine. Who's on there? Okay, so the ones you missed were Prince with Purple Rain. Of course. Of course. Bob Dylan, Highway 61. I don't know what it is. The Beach Boys, Pet Sounds. Of course. Billy Joel, The Stranger. Yeah, Billy Joel. Play some more Billy Joel. Play some Billy Joel. And then finally, Public Enemy, It Takes a Nation. Oh, yeah. Okay. There you go. You know what our text number is? What? 35253. Our phone number is 570-1053 if you want to call us. Hey, Billy. USC lost last night. Unbelievable. It's weird. Yeah. Oregon State, Eddie? Beavers. Oh, wow. Beavers. Beavers and Ducks. 5701053. Beavers and Ducks. There it is. Beavers and Ducks. Beavers and Ducks. A little bit of a controversy going on over there at Poway High School. Uh-oh.

One of the things that people just don't know about AIS insurance, and I talk about AIS because I have it and I've gotten a lot of my friends and family members to be on AIS insurance as well because it saved me money. I made a phone call to them and they genuinely saved me $1,600 when I called.
Just as a cold call, didn't know who I was. I just called and they gave me a quote. And AIS was thrilled, by the way, when I called them back and said, hey, here's what they did. They were like, see? So that's why I do it. That's why I tell you about it. But one of the things you may not know about it is that you don't have to wait to switch insurance carriers until your renewal's up. AIS can basically guide you through the process of switching. And you don't have to do the work. They do it for you. I didn't do anything. I found out that they saved me less. All they needed to know was, who is your other policy with? And they took care of the legwork. Next thing I knew, my bill was coming in. It was for $1,600 a year less. Wouldn't you like to save money on your auto insurance? Call them. 1-800-777-4AIS. 1-800-777-4AIS. For AIS. Shake it up. Hired of nasty energy drinks that make you crash a couple hours later? Shake it up. This is the Mikey Show. I think it's cool. Featuring Mikey. Mikey is a very judgmental jerk. And I fight that. I do not like killer whales, no. Okay. Sky. No, I have a koozie club. Sean. I don't wear. Boston Rob. I got short-term memory loss. No, you don't. Yeah, I do. And Ashley. I'm not that great anyways. I'm kind of crazy. The Mikey Show's on. Come on, shake and bake. Rock 105.3. It's a Mikey show. It's 7-0-3. Cal State San Marcos is warning students and staff after a mountain lion was spotted near campus this week. This is a first in a while. The Chargers had a full participation report at practice yesterday. That includes LT. LT, what do you think about the Raiders' defense this week? You know, they have gotten a lot better in offseason. Obviously, they signed a couple of key people that's going to help them in the secondary, obviously. Their union has been together.
A few years now, meaning the offensive line, you know, that linebacker group. So, you know, they're playing well together. Could be a little tired at practice today because Gray's Anatomy two-hour premiere last night. That's right, for sure. LT loves Gray's Anatomy. That's what he told us. He was on the Mikey Show. He told us that that was the deal, that he loves that grazing out. His wife got him into it. We'll have to watch it and see how he does today. That's right. So, Sky, what's the deal with this Poway? story, this Poway High School story, where there is some sort of controversy going on there. Yeah, well, the Poway High School newspaper was kind of struggling because, you know, the economy is tough. And so, you know, that affects schools because California has this budget problem. And then also in regards to the newspaper, their costs went up, you know, just their costs of doing business, you know, from printing costs to paper costs, all this. So they needed to find a way to bring more money in. Well, one of the kids who writes for the paper, their dad is a corporate consultant for
Hooters and was able to get the Rancho Bernardo store to put a $300 ad in their paper, which was great to bring in money. So it's a half-page ad. It was on their sports page, and it shows a girl wearing a Hooters tank top holding pom-poms, and then on it is attached a coupon for $5 off any purchase of $20 or more. Well, right after the newspaper came out, Emails started coming in from parents and people, you know, in the community upset, saying that this is completely inappropriate for a high school newspaper. And people are really upset and up in arms and think it's totally inappropriate. That's weird. It's not nudity. I don't get it. It's not even scantily clad, really. She's wearing a tank top. Well, when the Hooters in Rancho Bernardo opened, people were protesting it because the communities of Rancho Bernardo and Poway and those areas felt like that restaurant doesn't have a place in their family-oriented communities. So it doesn't surprise me that they didn't care for the ad there.
Please, let them do their business. You don't have to go there if you don't want to go there. People get really stirred up about the Hooters. Yeah. And, you know, give me a break. It's a family establishment. Great wings, great atmosphere. Go there, watch a game. Come on. Let's see. Mikey, the practice of forcing lefties to be righties is a religious thing. The right side is associated with the divine and the left with the evil. P1, you know it. This is what is interesting about that and interesting about the Hooters story. In both cases, you have people messing it up. Yeah. In both cases, you have people that are applying. Not what is in religious theology, but what they want to add to it. They want to add something to it. Whatever God said wasn't enough. They want to go, oh, well, that's a good starting point. I like what you got going there, God. But I'm going to add to it.
Hooters. And let me see. What else do I want to add to the list? Oh, The Mikey Show. I want to put The Mikey Show on there. They're bad, too. So these are things that God hates. Yeah, these are things God doesn't like. And so I'm going to put Hooters on there. I'm going to put The Mikey Show. I'm going to put... That's because people are adding to it. You don't have to. What about American Idol? American Idol. Put that on the list. Yeah, put that on there. Lefties. I love Lucy and Lefties. Thank you. The list is complete. Okay. Unless you have another idea. And then we'll have to augment the list. Sausages. Sausages are bad. Sausages. Let's see. This one says, Mikey, can you do your impression of Mickey Mouse for a while? I laughed so hard I can't stop thinking of when I did it. For a while. Yes. Just all of today. 20 minutes or so. So this next text message reads, Hey Mike, did you hear about the Wamuu seizing by the feds? What's up with this? That's P1 Surfside. Oh no. Yeah, the feds seized Wamuu, right?
Yeah, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation took control of assets by Washington Mutual, which is suffering from this whole mortgage, Wall Street, meltdown debacle that's going on right now. So they took the assets and then sold them to J.P. Morgan Chase for $1.9 billion. J.P. Morgan bought Bear Stearns back in March, so they're one of the stronger companies that's kind of devouring the weaker ones right now. Bear Stearns sounds like a high-end toy store to me. It just occurred to my head. Yeah, that would be a great... Oh, my goodness. I got the most amazingly gorgeous $700 teddy bear from Bear Stearns. Oh, wow. The softest thing you've ever heard. Right, yeah. We were in New York City, and so we were like, you've got to go to Bear Stearns. Didn't they film a movie there? Yeah, they did. The kissing scene from fill-in romantic comedy here. This text message says, Mikey, who was better, Montana or Young? That's P1 Steeler fan. Well, for me, for my money, I go Montana. Eddie, what's your opinions on this? Eddie is, Eddie doesn't know. He hates this. He hates it. Come on with this question. I mean, first of all, Joe Montana won, you know, four Super Bowls. Right.
Was just a phenomenal quarterback. But Steve Young, to his credit, was a fantastic quarterback. A different kind of quarterback. A lefty. A lefty. A lefty. Yes, more of a mobile quarterback. We just heard from the devil. Yes. Obviously. Obviously, Mike. BYU. Yeah, I would say Joe Montana. But that's, you know, that's such a tough question. That Joe. I love them both. That Joe was good, though. Oh, please. That Joe was good. Festival time. Come on. I agree. You believe he's the best of all time, right? I do, absolutely. Yeah, I do too. Hey, Mikey, what do you think of Mark Cuban buying the Padres? How would we do that? That's P1 Taz. He says, no, no, no, I'm sorry. He says, how would we do? So he wants to know, if Mark Cuban bought the Padres, would the Padres be a better team? Yeah, probably. Mark Cuban would spend money. John Moores doesn't. I think he would go out and get the right people in place to succeed. What's really weird to me is it would appear outwardly, maybe totally different. Like maybe if you talk to John Morris privately, nobody could hear the conversation. It's just a conversation between you and John Morris. Maybe he would say, no, you know what? I really want this team to win in the worst way. Like I just want it so bad. I want to do it. Maybe he would.
But it would appear outwardly that that is not necessarily his biggest priority. Well, we would have to find him first. Yeah. Because he doesn't come around anymore. He's not here in San Diego? No. Oh, my. Mikey was listening to your list of albums, and I can't believe Cher isn't on the list. That's P1 Heavy Metal. So there it is. Why would that be on the list, Mike? I don't. Yeah. That's a good question. Shut your mouth. Ashley sang a little bit of that yesterday. She sang a little bit of Cher. Hey, Ash, we should permanently put you singing Cher up here for me for all time. Are you sure? Yeah. Because there's no doubt about it. It was that good. It was that good. Thank you. I missed you a lot. What I meant was, see you later. A mountain lion was spotted in North County. You want to know where? I'll tell you when we come back. This is the Mikey Show. So you're the guy who pooped in my tuba. 105.3. Right now is the best time to be in the market for a Ford F-150. Maybe give yourself a little extra time. You're more than likely going to need it. Right now, this 805 northbound over the South Bay is starting to see the break. That's going to off and on now out of Chula Vista on up into North Park and then again out of Kearney Mesa over that 52. Westbound 94 on the King Freeway. That's not a bad-looking ride. Just a brief delay at the 805 connector. Your West 8th ride's been looking pretty good out of the Cajon Valley. That's still smooth and easy. But to move with some patchy fog here as well, coming into Mission Valley. Westbound 52, looking good out of Santee. A minor delay over the Mission Trail Summit here, and some fog there as well. Heading south in the 15, that's a bumper-to-bumper ride, though. From the 78th of the Arancho Parkway out of Escondido, the coaster rides still looking great. South 5, full street out of Oceanside, all the way down to the border. I'm McLaurin's on Rock 105 for 8. From the Cricket Wireless Studios. But, you know, I'm sure there's a lot of convicts that are good. K-I-C. San Diego's rock. Five, three. It's another Mikey moment. Ashley does a pretty, I would say that Ashley does a pretty good spot on Jerry Seinfeld impression. Eddie, are you saying you can't? Oh, listen to that. I love that humor. Observational humor. Did you hear that? Did you understand that?
Did she say something about the juice? What'd she say? If you got anything out of that. She said, what's the deal with orange juice if it's made with oranges? Why is it juice? Yes, that is what she said. Wow. It is comedy. Back to the Mikey Show on The Rock. Welcome back. It's a Mikey show at 718. Paris Hilton seemed to get annoyed with Joy Behar on The View yesterday when she brought up Paris' prison time. The race for the pennant is getting tight. The Twins have overtaken the White Sox with a win in 10 innings last night. Oh, my. I do believe, I do believe that I have audio of Joy Behar upsetting little Paris. She does not want to talk. Oh, she's so sensitive. I shouldn't want to go there. She does not feel it is appropriate to have to talk about the time that she spent in prison. And we've heard this before. There have been other times where she's been asked about it. Like on Letterman? And she don't dig it at all.
be able to vote, are you? I have a friend who was in the slammer. He can't vote. Weren't you in jail? I'm allowed to vote. You are? I thought you couldn't vote. What was your thing? Yours was a misdemeanor or something? No, it was driving without a suspended license. You can still vote with him? You're still American. I don't know if Paris knows A misdemeanor versus what a felony is. You know what I mean? Was it a felony? And then she goes, no, it was a driving without a... Yeah, no, it was a DUI. Well said. What? Well, I know, but there can be, like, misdemeanor DUI. There can be a felony DUI. Was it a... Yeah, it was a DUI. Yeah, one of those. Okay, well, good then. So, before we went to break, Sky had mentioned that there was a mountain lion. up in North County, and I wanted to know more about it. Skye, what's going on with this thing? Well, like I said, it was spotted right next to the Cal State University San Marcos campus. Now, this was about 1 o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, and a maintenance worker on the campus saw the mountain lion on a hillside near the southeastern end of campus. So, of course, they're warning all staff, all students, everybody saying, hey, if you see the mountain lion, do not run.
Because the mountain lion will think you're a toy and want to play with you. Oh, yeah. Don't do that. Don't run. You do not run. You make intense eye contact with it. You make yourself appear as large as possible. And like Eddie's doing it. Like Eddie's doing, you wave your arms and make noise. That's from Bear Grylls. Really? Yep. There it is. Yep. Okay. I wonder if mountain lions in that area are becoming an issue. Well... I mean, they're doing so much construction over there because all of the, you know, nature preserve is kind of where San Alijo Hills now is and all those houses. Where are they supposed to go? I don't know, Mike. You know, they're like, we don't know where to go. Yeah. Listen, we have to have, I know, but we don't. Where are they going to go? Pack your bags. Vista? Like, where do you want them to go? Oakland. We're not really sure. That's quite a track. We're to Oakland. That's what we've been screaming at. We've put a bunch of signs out. See the mountain lions on the side of the road with the Oakland sign. Yeah. Thumb out. Basically. 570-1053 is the phone number. Scalping tickets for the Raider game.
You're sitting there, and you're like, you know that your friend Steve usually sits next to you, and it's a mountain lion. And you're like, Steve, dude. And you text him, and you're like, dude, there's a mountain lion sitting next to me. Quit selling your tickets, bro. This is getting out of hand. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You can call about anything you want to. P1 Ashley's on the line. Are you there, Ashley? Yeah. You go to Poway High School? Yeah. What did you do? I wore a black hooter shirt to school and a regular t-shirt. And one of my teachers said that she felt it was inappropriate and degrading to women. Now, I got a question. Was this a regular t-shirt or was it a black tank top like the kind that the girl... It was a regular t-shirt. The collar went all the way up to my neck and the sleeves all the way down my arm. That's a strange teacher. Dude. That's a strange teacher. Did they make you change or anything or no? No, they made me go home. Wow. Was it a baby tee? No, it was a long tee shirt. Wow. That's so bizarre. I mean, at that point, it's the teacher's opinion, and it's not really school policy. It's just the teacher feels like they don't like hooters. Hey, Ashley, is your mom sitting there? Yeah. Can I talk to her? Yeah. Hello. Mom, did you get mad?
Yeah, I got mad. I got real mad. The fact that this woman said this, not only did she say that it was degrading to women, but she did it in front of her other students. No! Oh, my gosh. That's brutal. Yeah, and so I went in there, and I said, I'd like to speak to the principal. And the secretary was there, and I told her what happened. And not only did the secretary look at me like I was some kind of piece of crap or something, you know, she was... She just talked down to us. Oh, wow. I lost it. Did you talk to the principal? Yeah, I did. And I actually got my daughter out of that class. I told the principal that that was inappropriate for her to talk to my daughter that way, that I have taught my daughter to not only, you know, feel good about herself, but that women should celebrate their bodies and not, you know, not be sluts and stuff, obviously, but not to, you know. She just didn't have any right to put that kind of, you know, that kind of thing on my daughter. Did the principal, like, what kind of feedback did the principal give you? He was really good about it, actually. He was really nice. He knew that I was mad. In fact, I said a few choice words to the teacher because I was so mad. I mean, I did lose control, and I later apologized. But he was really nice about it.
And he understood why I was so mad about this. Right. That, you know, she should have taken my daughter's side and said, hey, we've changed our policies and you can no longer. Well, I was told that, you know, they had changed their policies and that they no longer were allowed to wear these shirts that said this across the shirt, you know. But, yeah, yeah, it was just. Did you want anything done about it or? Was it kind of like, hey, the principal apologized, so let's call it a day? That was pretty much what he did. He pretty much, well, she got out of the class. I took her out of that class. Yeah. Yeah, so that was the gist of it, but yeah. Too bad. My daughter was, she was pretty upset, which I think was what made me upset. Oh, yeah. It's a bummer, man. Yeah. It's a bummer. No, you're not a man, but I just said man right there. I know what you meant. I appreciate it. Hey, thanks for the call. All right. All right, we'll see you. P1, Erin is on the line. What's up, Erin? Hey, guys. I just, last week, and I know it's kind of bad, but I've been thinking about it all week. There's some, Ashley, I think her name was, who was, you know, talking on your show about PDA at the airport. Yeah, are you new to the show? You don't know our girl, Ashley? No, no, I meant...
I'm just nervous. I'm sorry. I meant Ashley was talking about, I think, at the airport. I said it backwards. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway, what I meant to say is that... I remember what she's talking about when the P1 wrote the email about seeing Ashley doing the PDA. She was at the airport with the love of her life. Yeah. And I just wanted to say, I didn't have a chance to call last week about it, but I hate... Really? I hate it. I just think you should just keep it to yourself.
I mean, this is weird on a lot of levels. I mean, first the obvious, what she's saying about not holding hands, but the fact that for a week now, she's been thinking about the email. And it's bothered her. It's bothered her for a week. This is really the first opportunity that she's had, really, to kind of have a little time set by to get to that PDA thing. She didn't even witness this. She's been steaming about it. She didn't even see it, though. She just heard about it. Right, right, right. It creeps me out. What does it make you feel like when you see a couple of people kissing in public? I get like, like I've got like a, I don't know, a spider on me or something. A spider. A spider. I love it. That's how I feel too. It's kind of like when Maury Povich has people on that are afraid of pickles. Right. And he brings out a big vat of pickles to kind of like. desensitize them to it. Here's a bread and butter. Yeah. Yeah. I've had, I've had boyfriends who try and like make out with me. And you're like, stop. Like in front of my.
family. Well, that's weird. That is weird. Well, I want to hear her definition of make out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've always had, I've always been like, blah, blah, blah, but I have this one boyfriend who would try and do that. Try and expose me to PDA. Right, right. So you would be walking and all of a sudden he would like poke you on the side with his finger. In front of my family, this is where I really like we started fighting and then we broke up. you know, barbecue, whatever. Yes. And he, like, he didn't just, like, give me a little kiss. He, like, gave me one of those movie kisses. Yeah, yeah, that's weird. Uncomfortable. I was like, you know, and my family, of course, was like, oh, that's it, they're getting married. Mm-hmm. Hey, listen, Erin. So before, I was kind of like, eh, you know, gross. But, like, after that,
I was like, that's it. No one is touching me. Yeah, yeah. No, I get it. I can't stand it. I cannot stand it. You're yelling. You're yelling. Aaron, I think you may be overreacting. I think you, Eddie, just turned his head like Mike. Come on. You're making a snap judgment. Overreaction. I will say this. It brings up like, okay, so where is everybody's personal line on PDA? Sure. You know, my personal line with it is I'm fine with hand-holding and I'm fine with the smooch, meaning you lean over and you go, you give a smooch. Yeah, you know. I am not okay with anything involving the tongue in public. I think that's creepy. It's a little much for me. It's a little creepy. But I'm okay with the smooch. I'm okay with, you know, the Ashley, I've noticed, even with everybody. Ashley loves to, like, rub and pet. Ashley's a petter. She likes to pet people. I think that's cute, you know. I think I don't have a problem with that, you know. What about sitting on laps? Sitting on laps is...
Well, what are we talking here? Give me a scenario. Okay, at the airport. And you see a dude sitting down and his chick is kind of sitting on his lap with her arm around him. I was asking Mike. Erin says no. What about the stroking of the face? Stroking of the face. Ashley, do you do the stroking of the face? No. You don't? You don't stroke Mark's face? You don't? Well, here's what I would say. lap sitting. Yeah. Whatever. That's no big deal. I mean, it's when you start combining stuff where I start to get uncomfortable. Yeah. You know, you're sitting on the lap. It already looks kind of weird, but hey, to each their own. You're sitting on somebody's lap, whatever. Yeah. But you're sitting on their lap and you start stroking their face like Titanic. Now you're getting a little creepy. Now it's getting a little, I'm getting a little uncomfortable. Yeah. What about you guys? I'm pretty much the same way. Like, you know, holding hands and the...
The peck smooch is fine, but, I mean, you start making out in public, I mean, that's just creepy for everybody. You know, I don't want to have to see that. You think Erin's reaction is strong, though, like the no hand-holding? Oh, yeah, she's got some issues or something going on there. It sounds like there may be some issues there, Erin, that you feel so strongly about hand-holding. Are you there? Oh, no. Oh, no. whole thing, you know? It's like a gateway drug. It's a gateway drug. It is. It leads to pecs. Yeah. It's the marijuana of affection. Yes. I've read that, Eddie. I just don't want to like, I don't want to encourage anything. I feel uncomfortable. Like hardcore pecking. Oh, man. You're dating a guy, you haven't seen him in a little bit, he comes up to you and wants to give you a hug. I can, I can, I can maybe do a hug. Oh, boy. Maybe. She sounds like Lars from Lars and the Real Girl. Yeah. Remember how Lars couldn't have people touch him and hugs made him really uncomfortable? Yeah. Oh, my God. I just watched that. Are you seriously? Are you like Lars? I just watched that last week. Are you like Lars? Oh, my God. You sound like, I mean. Wait, Mike. Well, seriously. I mean, he was a crazy person. I know. Lars was like, he had really, like, deep issues. Like a lot of stuff. Is your boyfriend a blow-up doll? Yes.
Erin, do you think that maybe you are like Lars or do you think that this is like a normal thing? You're crazy. Talk to me. Tell me. I just feel like my family, you know, the way my family grew up that, you know, we have strong like feelings for each other. But, you know, when it came to like I wasn't allowed to date until I was like 18. Well, OK, let me ask you this. Let me ask. But I just feel like when, you know, I felt like, oh, I'm uncomfortable about that, and then my boyfriend was always, well, he was kind of a... Okay. All right. Easy. Question. Question, Aaron. Question, Aaron. Question. Did I just say that on the radio? Yeah, we just did. So, Aaron. Question. But he was like... Hello? With me, and I just, I really hated that. Yeah, we hear you. I have a question. Yeah. When you're in the movie, like let's say the movie starts and you're in the movie theater, are you okay holding his hand like then, like maybe on your lap or something? Yeah. Yeah, that's okay. That's fine. And that's fine. And that's fine because... If you're out at the mall, then it's wrong. Because I'm sensing like, well, everybody can see out at the mall and that's creepy.
But if you're sitting in a darkened movie theater and you're holding hands, it's okay. What if you had a better looking boyfriend? Would that be it? I wonder if that's it. That's an interesting point. Oh, right. It could be. Does that have something to do with it? That is terrible. No, that's not what it's about. Sorry. I mean, she didn't actually answer, but... He's cute. Yeah. Okay. Okay, hey. Okay. I just think that it's really interesting. What about when you're sitting at your house, it's just you and him, you're sitting on the couch watching a movie, there, would you hold hands then? Yeah. Okay, because it's not public. Right. Because people can't see it. Yeah, public displays. That's what creeps you out. So if you're sitting at, let's, okay, I got another one. Okay, what do we got? I'm going to give you scenarios, Erin, and I want to see where you are. So. You're sitting in a restaurant at a table, no holding hands on the table, like no putting your hand on the table and holding his hand. Right. Because people can see that. Holding his hand. Are you guys same-side sitters? Sometimes. It depends on the restaurant, I guess. Okay. So let's say you go, you sit at a booth, you're sitting next to each other at the booth. Would you hold his hand underneath the table?
She's so uncomfortable. So hesitant. She would maybe do it, but she'd hate it. Yes. She'd be looking around, seeing if people are watching. Wow. What is that? I wonder what that is. There's a lot going on there. I'd like to analyze you. Oh, no. Erin, thank you for the call. I appreciate it. Thanks, you guys. We're getting a lot of calls. I don't know. I don't know. Do you start it, Ashley? I do. P1 Bathhouse is on the line. Oh, great. Sky believes he should legally change that to Jacuzzi Club. Oh, okay. Legally. P1 Tandy Lowenbrow. There you go. I support that. Go ahead. What were you wanting to say? I was just going to say that, you know, I'm against the whole PDA to most extent, but if you're a guy and you're with a really, really good-looking girl and you want everybody to know that you're with her, that's okay. That's okay. I love it. That is okay because you want everyone to know that you're with us. Fair. I kind of agree with that. And how far is your line, you said? How far does the line go? What are you comfortable with? Hello? All the way, baby. All the way. Okay. Save that clip. That's interesting. All the way, baby. All the way, baby. Know it. I'm with that guy, man. PDA.
Who cares? Really? Oh, yeah, dude. Well, you and your gal. Yeah, remember the 28-hour show last year? Makes me uncomfortable. Weren't they making out? They were making out during the movie. And I think the people that are watching... Creepy. Stop staring at me. But we're sitting next to you. We're sitting next to you. So focus on whatever your business is. Question. You weirdo. Wait, question. You peeping Tom. I've been sitting right next to you. You voyeur, you pervert. I'm the pervert. You're such a pervert. I mean, we're at work. What is this? We are at work. You should be on Megan's last website. You're a pervert, Scott. All right, I have a question. I'm going to walk you through this, Rob. Okay, let's walk. I'm going to walk you through this. And if you want, we can hold hands. I don't mind. No, no, no. But I want you to walk me through this because Sky is right. Last year, during the 28-hour show, we do a segment where we watch movies, okay? And so last year, while we were watching the movies, Rob is making out with his girlfriend, and we were all so uncomfortable with it. It was so...
So you're all weirdos. It was creepy. I actually didn't mind. So here is my question, Rob. Here is my question. And I'm just taking your logic, and I want you to answer me seriously. If we take your logic, if we take your logic, then how come you wouldn't be sitting there not wearing any clothes using your logic? If it was hot enough in there? No, no, no. Using your logic, if you were nude. Wouldn't it fall on the other people in the room to act appropriately to what you're doing? Because according to you, we're the inappropriate ones because we're staring. Which means that the appropriate thing to do would let you be to make out in peace and not stare. That's correct, Mike. He's processing it right now. I can see it in his head. I can see it in his head. Let's keep walking. And so, this means... That if to be nude made you comfortable, if your logic is correct, we are the inappropriate ones if we are staring at you and your junk hanging out. That's my question. So why wouldn't you be nude then? I would be. I wouldn't mind. You would not. Whatever. Rob. You wouldn't be. Eddie, he wouldn't be. He knows it. He's not being honest. He's not.
Now he's like, okay, maybe I'm wrong about making out with her in public, but now. No, I'm not wrong. Go ahead. It's like if someone has a missing limb, you're not going to stare at it. And they're going to be like, oh, my God, that's so inappropriate. How did they get the missing limb? Were they born this way? I don't know. Because that's what we say to amputees. You're so inappropriate. Yes, that's what we say. That's what people say. Yes, the overall feeling about amputees is how inappropriate they are. Well, that's wrong of you guys. You shouldn't say that. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. You guys are not only perverts, but you just. Hey, hey, hey. Wow. Consider it. Wow. Wow. When you go to the beach and everyone's in bathing suits, are you staring at everybody? No, because they're not making out. Exactly. There's nothing wrong with it. There is nothing wrong with it. So are we going to have to live through it again at the 28-hour show? No, no, no. It's going to be a make-out-free zone. You pevhead. Sky is such a pevhead.
If it wasn't illegal to, you know, just go nude. Really? Is that right? He's so full of it. Whatever. Oh, you're so tough. Yes, you're the hardest guy in the room. Thanks. It is 570-1053. I still have a few rough spots on our freeways out here this morning and a little bit of fog as well still hanging on, so be careful out there. Right now, 5805 northbound. Both these freeways still kind of tough on a Chula Vista off and on in the National City. The 805 continues heavy.
in the North Park, and then you've got that usual slowdown developing out of Kearney Mesa, heading up over the 52. West on the 94 King Freeway, that's briefly at the 805, a little heavier, though, from 32nd Street down to downtown. Traveling westbound on the 8th, that's still tight as well here from Waring Road to the 15th as you make that right turn on that freeway. Heading up the hill out of Santee on the westbound 52, that's a slow ride over the Mission Trail Summit and some fog near the top of that summit as well. Heading south on the 15th, still tough on the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. It slows the game a bit through Carmel Mountain Ranch. Coming off the 15, west on the 56, that's seeing brake lights through Rancho Penasquitos back out to Black Mountain Road before it lets you loose there. And the coaster rides looking pretty good. A little bit of blogging sunspots and a brief delay at events needed, and that's about it. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey. What's up? Hey, it's P1 Matt. Public displays of affection. And where is your line? Like, where are you uncomfortable with this? This one says, we agree 100% with Boston Rob. Tell them how it is, Rob. That's P1 MoBeta. Oh, okay. Yeah, Rob and his girlfriend are just... I'm sorry. Coming up on a year now. Yeah, that's right. Coming up on one year of engagement.
And I just wanted to say that they make out in public. Thank you very much. Quite a bit. Now, call me crazy. Sky watches. Shut up. Like a pervert, right? Oh, yeah. Like a voyeur peeking around. When you're smacking in my ear, like, what am I supposed to do? It was so weird. Last year, we're on the air. It's the 28-hour show. And Sky goes, Mike, in the microphone. Because it's the only way I can hear her. Right. We had headphones on. And she goes, Mike. Of course, Rob's not paying attention. Oh, he's making out with his fiance. Right. I'm getting it done. And I go, okay, that's... And so I say to Skye, what? And she goes, what's going on, being us? And I look back there and I go, oh, oh! What is he doing? You try getting through Footloose and not making out with somebody. It was tough. This one says Rob's Megan line joke made me spit coffee all over my dashboard. That's P1 Robot. Mikey, you need to call Rob out on the air and do the nude thing for an hour on the 28 hour show. Let me think. No, thank you.
Yeah, maybe for the 29th hour we'll do that. We'll go home and Ruffles is there nude by himself. That's right. This one says... Fine with me. Okay. Don't mind if I do. That lady that called in was completely loony earlier. Hello, Looney Tunes over here. I'm with B-Rob, except anything short of making babies. That's P1 Fitzy. Oh, my God. That's a little much. Mikey, that Amco commercial is by far the funniest thing I've ever heard. That's P1 Monster Truck. Eddie called him Hamco. That was funny. A Mikey show, this 28-hour show, will be my first P1 birthday, one full year of being a rook. That's P1 Mad Hatter. Very nice. That's right. 570-1053 is our phone number. and feel free to give us a call. In fact, why don't we do this? Let's play the movie Word. Let's do it. You just go around in a circle. We'll get a word, and we're going to have to go around in a circle and try to come up with a movie that had that word in its title. Now, how long do we get? How many seconds do we get before we're buzzed out? Five seconds? Five seconds, yes.
We get five seconds to come up with a word, a word of the movie. For instance, let's say the word was English. Okay. English patient. Yes. English in my pants. That's not a movie, Eddie. Oh, so I'd be out. You would be out. That sounds like a great movie. I'd buy that. I've seen it. I don't know. I'll prove it to you guys. So call us now. 5701053. Give us a call. Dark baby dark. All right. Thank you. Oh, that's one of my favorites. What do we have up for grabs? Tickets to see Joe Rogan tonight. All right. Call us right now. 5701053. Give us a call. And yeah, let's do this thing. Now. Playing will be myself, Eddie, Sky, Ashley, and Boston Rob. Yes. Sean doesn't play. He plays the effects. And Zeth has the words for us. So that's who you have to choose from. And don't we switch up the order? Yeah. We got to figure this out, Mike. Do we? Every time. It's very important what order we go in. What order did we go in before? I don't know. I believe. I went, I think, third.
Because you guys didn't want me going first because that was too easy. And then you didn't. Let's kick it off with Sky and then we'll go this way. All right, Sky, you're going to start this time. P1 Big Shot. Yeah. Who would you like? I'd like Eddie. Good choice. Hang on. Eddie knows movies. P1 Ocho Cinco. Who do you want? Sammy J. P-Rod. Yeah, there you go. Yeah. What up? Three words. I like this game. Dark baby dark. P1 Tea Time. Who would you like? Who do I want? Yep. I'll take Ashley. All right. Hang on. Nice. Next up is P1C. I'll take Mike. There you go. Hang on. And finally, P1. Beanerschnitzel is on the line, ladies and gentlemen. Patent pending. That's right. Hello, Beanerschnitzel. Hello. How are you? Fine. How are you? I'm good. You get Sky, so hopefully she will do well. She's in a good spot. Starting first is a good spot. Hang on, okay? Okay.
We've got five seconds to come up with a movie title with this word in it. Let us begin. I don't feel ready. I don't know why. I go first. I just want to make sure everybody's clear on the order. I go first. Then me. Then Eddie. Then Ashley. Then Rob. You got it? Here we go. Movies with the word house in the title. House party. Big Mama's house. House Party 2, what up? House of Wax. House Party 3. House of Pain. The House on Haunted Hill. No. House of Pain. No, what is she? Isn't that a Tyler Perry movie? I think it's a TV show. Yeah, that is definitely a TV show. Is there a House Party 3? Yes, there is. Wow, unnecessary. Just saw it. Not unnecessary? I just saw it. I challenge House of Pain. All right, let's see.
There's been a challenge thrown down. Challenge is thrown down. I am IMDBing right now. Don't you have to name someone in the movie? Well, because I was thinking of Tyler Perry's House of Pain, but someone's saying it's a TV show, not a movie. So we need to check that. It's actually a wrap. It's a TV show. It's a TV show. It is not a movie. Eddie is still in the game. Sky is out. Sorry about that. House on Bonnet Hill was my guess, and when you said it, I was done. All right. Eddie, you're still in it. Yes. Shifts over to me. What is the word? Movies with the word last in the title. Last Samurai. Last Boy Scout. Last of the Mohicans. That lasts a movie, right? Is it? Who's in it, Ash? All you need is one actor. Me? Yeah. No, I don't know. No! That's not a rule. For real? I thought that we said that. No, you say a movie that... If that's a movie, then it's a movie. I thought the deal is you're allowed to say, okay, well, let's say, as long as it's a movie, you're good to go. We'll say that. Because it will make it. I thought we had said that we would. We said if it's like a random movie that nobody knows, you should know at least an actor in it. No, this was a big movie. It starred Una Mikas, Nino Cerbisi. It's a movie. Cyan Heater.
I get a point. That's the point of the game. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Yeah. So, yeah, she gets a point. I'm out. Sorry about that. P1C. That's B. Eddie, Ashley, and Rob. Ashley lucked out there. Yeah, she lucked out. She's never heard of that movie. You don't know. From this point on, should we make a rule? You have to know the movie. Yeah, you have to know at least one person in the movie. Or something about it. You have to know something about it because I don't know anyone from Last of the Mohicans, but I know the movie. You don't have to know any actors. We all know the movie. All you have to do is say something, anything, like maybe even a genre. As long as you can say it's a comedy, it's a scary movie, it's a something. One distinguishing thing and you're in. We will start with Eddie. Oh, jeez. Go ahead. Movies with the word. Movies with the word city in the title. City of God. City of angels. Oh, you took mine. The city that never sleeps. City of hope. Citizen Kane.
Well, he already got one with City of Hope. Why did he say Citizen Kane? I was thinking City Sun Kane. Can you tell us? He said something before City of Hope, though. What did you say? I blacked out. Can you tell us anything about... City of Hope is drama. You're so full of it right now. Hold on at last. It is right. Some may consider it a tear-jerk. Hang on a second. We've got to stay fair for this game. What was his first answer? Is that a movie? Do you remember what he said? I honestly don't remember. Can we pull the tape? I wasn't listening to myself. I thought what you did was you said something that somebody else had already said. You went like city of my...
Last of Mohicans is so weird. No, no, no. She said City of Angels, and I said, ah, you took what I was going to say. But then you said City of Something, and then you said City of Hope. City of Dreams or something? You said something. Oh, I honestly... Which I thought, oh, while you're out, and then you go City of Hope, and then City of... And then Citizen Kane. Citizen Kane. Citizen Kane. City. Son. Kane. City. Son. Kane. It's actually a very famous Japanese movie. I almost want to give up my spot for that. That was so good. So we're really going to... Take a vote. All right. I vote. You're out. You're out. You're out. Yeah. Everyone votes. You're out. But my vote is for me being in. Oh, is it? I think you may be outvoted. I'm like a superdelegate. Oh, man. As usual, Eddie and Ashley. It's between Eddie and Ashley. At last. Okay. See, I don't know, man. It's going to be so hard. It's going to be so hard because I'm thinking about it. I'm like, because a lot of times you do know a movie and you know for sure that it's a movie, but you don't know anything about it. At least one other participant has to have heard of the movie. But that's not fair either. Because you think people will lie just to get you out? No, but what if genuinely no one else is heard of it? Nobody heard of this movie and you can't name anything about it?
I don't know. Yeah, then you should be out. And the thing I said was City That Never Sleeps, which I was kidding about. That's what you said. City That Never Sleeps. City of Hope is a great one. So I should be in. Ashley should be out. What's City of Hope? A docudrama. Docudrama? Sorry about that. So sorry. 80s to now. Huh? Eddie and Ash. Thank you, Sean. Someone needed to say it. I'm so thrown off. Here we go. Okay, you're up, Ash. I'm first? Yeah. Okay. Movies with the word king in the title. King Tut. King and I. Kingpin. Return of the King. Return of the King 2. Oh, no. That is incorrect. She already returned, though. Maybe she could tell us about King Tut. They're asking way too much of me. King Tut actually is a movie that is in production for 2008. There is no information on the movie, actually. They're thinking about Nick Cage. Yes. Let's see. Congratulations, Big Shot. Thank you, Scott. Finally. That's right. Right on. I'm going to tell you about...
A prequel. Prequel is what happened before the movie that you saw. It's the story before the movie that you saw. Come on, junior high musical. On the rock. Nick thought he'd never get over Tris. He's just filmed two commercials for FreeCreditReport.com where he raps about his financial problems. Wow. Anthony Kim rides his Ryder Cup high into a four-shot lead at the Tour Championship. How about that? For the YouTube of the day. It is time for the YouTube clip of the day. This is...
Barack Obama and Barack... Now, this is what I think is interesting. I haven't heard this clip. And it's interesting. I would think that this would be all over the news. Of course not. No? Shouldn't this be? I mean, don't you think that... If it were another candidate, it might be, but... Let's take a listen. Let's take a listen. This is Barack Obama reading from a teleprompter. Here we go. Everybody knows that it makes no sense that... You send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma. They end up taking up a hospital bed. You gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment and a breathalyzer. Uh-oh. Or an inhalator. Not a breathalyzer. I haven't had much sleep in the last 48 hours. Well, then let's not report on it. What they'll say is, well, it costs too much money. But you know what?
It would cost about the same as what we would spend. Over the course of 10 years, it would cost what it would cost us. I'm sorry. All right. Okay. We're going to. It would cost us about the same as it would cost for about. Hold on one second. I can't hear myself. But I'm glad you're fired up, though. I'm glad. The great orator. That's right. With a teleprompter. Yeah, well. With a working teleprompter. Now, that is very compelling, isn't it? Uncomfortable. That is very compelling audio. But it's really interesting. We haven't heard much about it.
Well, nothing, Mike. Well, because there's not much going on in the news right now. That's interesting because... Just focus on a flub of somebody. A flub? Yeah. That's a little more than a flub. What would you call it? Abortion? Let me tell you, that was pretty crazy. That was very compelling. And let me tell you, if that had happened to John McCain, it would be a news story. I'm not suggesting that this should be breaking news. Barack Obama. And we know what the big picture is here. The big picture is that without the use of a teleprompter, Barack Obama is not the amazing orator that we know him as. He's lost. He's lost. The information isn't up here. The information is on the teleprompter, which is what everyone is really getting after Sarah Palin about. That's what that interview was a while back.
When we heard them digging into her about the nation of Georgia and what are your thoughts on sovereignty and Georgia and da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. And on the spot, she's got to, you know, and I thought she did pretty good given the circumstance. Now, my contention with Barack Obama has always been that Barack Obama is one of the most amazing orators I've ever seen, ever. He's an incredible orator. There isn't enough substance to make me feel comfortable. I mean, I disagree with the policy, too, but there isn't enough substance behind it. And the thing that really worried me about Barack Obama was when I was reading early on, like the things that he was saying about Iraq. And he was it was all things that I felt people really want to hear. Things like, you know, I will.
bring them home in the first 60 days of being elected into office, which I thought sounded really great. After all, I'm a human being who wouldn't want our boys to come back from Iraq. But I was also and girls coming back to Iraq from Iraq. But I was also thinking in my head, boy, that doesn't seem possible. That sure doesn't seem possible. But as time went on, he talked to people and realized, oh, yeah, it isn't possible. And I went, man, I wonder if it still says that on his website. And it didn't say it on his website anymore. He changed it. And what I'm finding out about Barack Obama, and I wish what people would realize about Barack Obama, is that it is very easy for people to get sold on an American Idol. Because that's what Barack Obama is. He's our favorite contestant on White House Idol.
He's the David Archuleta of government. Absolutely. I wouldn't say that. He looks really great. He has a great personality. He's really super good at giving speeches. Came in second. Okay. What? Now, conversely, John McCain, terrible. Terrible, really, in my opinion. Yeah, he's the guy who looked like Chicken Little. That is true. On American Idol. That is true. If you were like, oh, yeah, we're kind of in on him. If you were to age, you know, do the age composites, perhaps, perhaps. And he does not have that smoothness to him when he's giving speeches. And he is the stamp that looks like old. And Barack Obama is the stamp that looks like young and fresh. Taylor Hicks. Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, what's Taylor Hicks' career been like since winning? As long as he wins. Well, President Bush won, and look what happened. Exactly. No, Eddie, see, that point was against you. Oh, gosh. I will be sending that YouTube clip to my brother. Oh, dude. Bye. Bye. Do you want to fight him? Don't do it. Why do you want to fight him? Don't do it, Mike. Should I not do it? Should I not do it? Just leave him be. No, you have to. Yeah, CC blunder on it. Oh, no. I'm not fighting you. Dude, Mark will freak. Oh, he'll have an explanation. Absolutely. He'll have an explanation. He will. 100%. Yes, he will. Listen, my bro is one of the smartest dudes I know. He is. He's got brains in his brains. And I remember when I first talked to him about Barack Obama, he told me that Barack Obama made him feel the same way that Robert Kennedy made him feel. Because Robert Kennedy was this great speech giver.
All the Kennedys were. Dude, they were, man. They were really, really charismatic. They had this charisma. Yes, I want to put $100,000 in everyone's pockets and I want to be able to plant money trees that produce actual money from fruit. When you peel an orange, I want there to be tens underneath it. I want to have sex with every actress in Hollywood. Not part of my policy, but that is a personal fact about me. That's a statement. Go Sox. So let's let's listen to a fair and unbiased interview from Katie Couric to Sarah Palin, where, you know, where we're just listen, we're just we just want to know you better. So we're just going to ask a couple of questions. Let's see. Which one do I think looks good? Oh, man. Here is Katie Couric with Sarah Palin. In preparing for this conversation, a lot of our viewers and Internet users wanted to know why you did not get a passport until last year. Define a lot. In fact. I want to know. Wait a second. I would like to know. I would like to know. Wait. Hang on.
I'm going to say is I will pull the curtain back a bit. Do it. Exactly. I will pull the curtain back a bit. You don't know. Stop. Skye, you know where I'm going, right? Just because we do something doesn't mean that everybody does it. It doesn't mean that it's like an industry standard. You know exactly what it is. Dude. That is brilliant. Let me tell you. What we do. On the Mikey show sometimes. Sure. When we have somebody on the phone. Yeah. And we want to ask them something really crazy. Controversial question. Controversial. What we do is we make up that we got emails about it. I.e. Denise Richards. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nicole Richie. Denise, we've got tons of emails here. This is from Mark in La Jolla. He wants to know. What's up with you and Charlie? You know, no, no, no. It would be like this. Mark from La Jolla. Man, I can't. I have to ask you this because I just got this in an email and forgive us. But this is we've gotten. Actually, we've gotten a lot. We've gotten a lot of this particular question, although it pains me to ask. A lot of our emails are asking, don't you feel terrible about.
Putting your children on television. Again, boy, we do not think that. Or condone it. Thousands of emails poured in. Thousands of internet users. And listen, what we want to do here is we want to think this thought through. You didn't get a passport until last year. And by the way, neither did I. I didn't get a passport until we went to Mexico on a trip. Oh, well, then it's clear. You know what that means? Terrorist. Well, first of all, that I'm a terrorist. No, I'm not saying that. What are we saying, I wonder? You're saying you haven't traveled outside of North America until recently, but you feel that you... have enough knowledge about other countries and cultures to deal with policy regarding them. So you're saying that George Washington... You just left North America for the very first time in your life. So that means before there was, you know, like real easy travel, had George Washington gone to China to be able to deal with trade and things like that? It wasn't an option then. It was a different time. So what you're saying is... Most politicians have. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. I think that what we should do is... We were at war with Great Britain.
Well, yeah, we were at war, but you couldn't send a fax or an email or jump on a plane. You could sail the ocean blue. She could send a fax or an email and not have to leave North America. Yeah, but that's not good for foreign relations. And they wondered if it indicated a lack of interest and curiosity in the world. Yes. I'm not one of those who... I am not interested or curious about the world. And I feel terrible because I think I'm being discovered. I don't like the world. I hate people of color. Well, I'm just saying. I'm patently racist. Well, we don't know, Mike. All right. Maybe came from a background of... You know, kids who perhaps graduate college and their parents get them. And by the way, can you imagine how gnarly messed up you feel when you get asked that? Why? Well, because immediately you feel like you have been attacked. You've done something wrong? You've done something wrong. Well, welcome to running for office. Your life is under a microscope. I understand. You're acting like she's the only one who's being asked questions here. When your life goes under the microscope, shouldn't the things that go under the microscope be things that are actually...
real and have a sense of a passport. I think it's a fair question. It's definitely pertinent to the job. Her passport? It's a fair question. She hasn't traveled outside the country, bro. So that means she's never spoken to people from other countries? She has to go? To China? To understand the Chinese people? Well, not to understand the Chinese people, but to have relations with their country. As soon as she's vice president. Why do other people go to other countries? Let's consider Sarah Palin and why Sarah Palin became the vice presidential nominee. She became the vice presidential nominee because she turned around the state of Alaska. And the way that she did it was she was a hockey mom. She was a hockey mom. That just made her way up. And so she's saying, yeah, I didn't travel. I didn't really do it. I haven't traveled. She's got a family. Maybe you're not ready to be the vice president. Joe Biden is bros with the Chinese. Yeah, Joe Biden's huge on foreign policy. He's like the biggest one out of...
The reason Joe Biden is more qualified is he has a passport. He uses his passport. That's right. That's why he's more qualified, yes. And give him a backpack and say, go off and travel the world new. I've worked all my life. In fact, I've usually had two jobs all my life until I had kids. I was not a part of, I guess, that culture. The way that I have understood the world is through education, through books, through mediums that have provided me a lot of perspective on the world. That's an honest answer. I just think that, I don't know, I see the vice president as being someone who's at least gone outside the country once. I like to think of that. I watch Jet Li movies. Well, there it is. Doesn't that count for something? Yeah. I love Jackie Chan. Yeah. Then you're in, girl. The movie that they are thinking about making a prequel for is I Am Legend. Whoa.
How about that? Yeah, it did really good. You know, grossed almost $600 million worldwide. But, you know, Will Smith was the big draw. And, you know, if you haven't seen the movie, don't listen. I haven't seen it. Okay, take your headphones off. Will Smith. She hasn't seen it. Wasn't she with us? Yeah, wasn't she at the premiere? Oh, maybe. I don't know. Yeah, I think she was with you guys because I was the only one that didn't. Oh, well. Okay, well, anyway, Will Smith dies at the end, and so they couldn't make a sequel, so they have to now make a prequel, which will focus on the days just before the outbreak. No. Wasn't she there? I'm not commenting on this. Sky, you have to. I would rather not. I don't recall. She probably thinks we're talking about the prequel. Like, she thinks it's already out. No, she can't be that dumb. I hope not. She wants to know if she can put her headphones back on. It's safe to put your headphones back on. You've seen the movie. You, I Am Legend, didn't you go to the premiere with everyone? No. The Will Smith movie? No. You didn't? She went to Cloverfield. Cloverfield, yes. Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones, yes. You know what I Am Legend is about?

Well, the ride's improving quite a bit in our freeways here this morning as this kit winds down. Still got some fog up there in some spots, so be careful. But right now, the 5805 northbound, you're good to go all the way up into the city. The 805 has a brief slowdown over that 52, but overall looking pretty nice. West in the 94, looking fantastic all the way into downtown. Your West 8 ride clear now out of El Cajon all the way to Mission Valley. Good-looking speeds as well coming up the hill out of Santee in the westbound 52. You'll find just a minor slowdown as you come underneath the 805 here through San Clemente Canyon. Still finding a tough one out of Escondido in the south 15. That's still slow and go from the 78 to Via Rancho Parkway, and then bunches up a bit through Carmel Mountain Ranch. The west 56, you're looking good as well in two Rancho Penosquitos. You'll find some brake lights hanging on here, though, from Carmel Country Road to the 5, and the 5 southbound out of the north county, a brief delay near Encinitas Boulevard, and then you're on your way. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3.
Eddie, tell me about your new Sleep Train mattress. Well, you know what? I got to tell you, I was kind of worried when I first got it because I'm used to a firmer mattress. I would always have a firm mattress. Right. But the wife liked a softer mattress. So we went somewhere kind of in the middle. And I was a little worried that I was going to have back problems and all that kind of stuff. Right. But we bought the new mattress, which is the Sealy Posturepedic. And I have not had one back problem since I've... You got that mattress and I've had great night's sleep. Dude, that's awesome. It's been fantastic. Wow. And I actually went through the same thing. You know, me and Mikey lived with this dude from Vietnam named Locke. Yes, we did. His name was Locke. And he would cook up human skulls and raccoon livers. I mean, it was unreal. I mean, I finally, I'm telling you, I finally had to say to the guy, bro, I know you like to eat rotten elephant dung, but it's killing me. Wow. Now, he looked at me puzzled, and I knew I had to explain it in another way only another human being could understand. I farted right in his face. Eddie? That was weird. Is that Coldplay? That is not Coldplay. Nope. Who is it? Lupe Fiasco. Lupe Fiasco? Yeah. Is that Latin for Coldplay? Yeah. It's 841. Well, some breaking news. John McCain just announced that he will now participate in tonight's presidential debate. What's up? Wow. Former Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson won't face charges for those two alcohol-related arrests earlier this year. Really? Welcome back. It's a Mikey show. Sky, why did Joe Biden tear up on the campaign trail? Well, yesterday he was...
Just watched it. He was in Pennsylvania and he started talking about back when his wife and daughter were killed in a car crash. Were they really? Oh, yeah. You didn't know this story? Oh, yeah. Sean, help me out because if I, you know, misrepresent this. But, yeah, from what I understand, it was like his early days as a politician. I think he may have just become a senator or something and was getting prepared to get sworn in or something. And his whole family was in a car accident. And his two sons were in the hospital and his wife and his daughter died. Are you kidding? And so he said, I'm going to give up politics and care for my boys. And his boys said, no, dad, you know, we know how much this means to you. You know, we understand it's a tough time, but, you know. No way. Yeah. And then he was a single dad for a while and then eventually remarried and, you know, had a daughter with his new wife. That's crazy. Yeah. So he was in Pennsylvania and I guess, you know, his two boys were Steeler fans. And so after the accident, the running back for the Steelers came to the hospital and gave the boys autographed balls and it really lifted their spirit. So when he spoke yesterday, I think the coach or the founder of the Steelers.
brought him on stage and he told the story and ended up like tearing up and was like wiping tears off his face and stuff. That is crazy. So it's just interesting how people are going to view that because we know when Hillary cried on the campaign trail, it was big news and people were wondering, you know, what does that mean? Is she tough enough? Is it because she's a woman? So it'll be interesting to see how people react to that. Hey, my boy Mike Huckabee is debuting a new Fox News show this weekend. What is it? It's called Huckabee. Yeah. All new Huckabee. Yeah. And it'll premiere Saturday at 8 o'clock on Fox News. And basically, he'll be the host of a show and discuss political topics. His first guest this weekend will be Elizabeth Hasselbeck from, you know, The View. And yeah. Wow. And then they'll repeat it on Sunday. Wow. Yeah. I want to see that. Yeah. Let's see. What else we got? Rachel McAdams. She's going to be Robert Downey Jr.'s love interest in this new Sherlock Holmes movie they're doing. Oh, wow. Yeah, it's being directed by Guy Ritchie. It's going to start filming next month. Jude Law has been signed on to play Watson, but Rachel McAdams just signed on to be the love interest. Oh, I'm in. Yeah, I'm in too. On Wednesday, October the 8th, The Mikey Show is going to begin a 28-hour...
Odyssey. Oh, no. We are going to go on the air for 28 straight hours. Oh, my goodness. And we are not going to play any music. We're not going to play any commercials. 28 straight hours, the Mikey show, and that's it. So what you're saying is this is the most dramatic 28-hour show yet. It is. Wow. It is. If we ever, ever get... That Chris Harrison, is that what his name is? Chris Harrison? If we ever get the host of The Bachelor back on the show, I want him to say that for us. For sure. Then we can just play it every year. It's the most, coming up, the most dramatic 28-hour show yet. But it is. I was talking about it last night to a friend of mine, that this is going to be the biggest one ever. Come on! It's epic in scope. That's right. It is. That was Jim Rohn. Right, Jim? It's going to be a pretty big 28-hour show. Jim said phenomenal. That's right. He's really pumped up. He is. He's really into it. I have a question.
May cause controversy. It's a sensitive time, bro. This is, this may be a controversial question and you guys, we can discuss this. Let's discuss this. Okay. Why don't we put it out there and we'll discuss this. Okay. I'm going to say three words. You tell me what your thoughts are. All right. Mikey show idol. Okay. I want you to tell me. I love it. We can't beat you. You're the best. We get it. You're better than us. You are Jordan Sparks. Yeah, you are. I do not. Jordan Sparks, by the way. Of all the examples. Right. Like he couldn't have gone with Kelly Clarkson. Well, I mean, that's still what those are still girls, you know, that would be. Well, but I mean, at least they had huge selling like albums. Didn't you hear that? Don't breathe. Don't breathe. Breathe again. Breathe again. Breathe again. Wow. Breathe again. That face. Breathe again. It's an angry face. Breathe again. When she does it, she looks at Eddie.
Let's go kill her face. Yes. She's so angry. And she gets angry face and says, breathe again. Scary. It really creeps you out, doesn't it? I, listen. What? Yeah, we get it. If you agree to do it, I would rather host. I would like to be a host of you guys. I would like to be Seacrest. Wait. Save that clip. Save that clip. Save that clip. Save that clip. I need that now. Why did I say that? That was juicy. Yeah, that was good. Oh, that was the stupidest thing. That was really dumb. That was really dumb. It's so awful when you see Ashley in there working to get it. Like you physically see her working to pull what I just said. Welcome to my world, Mike. Oh, it's awful. Come on. Is that what it's like? Yeah, you're going to wake up tomorrow morning and I'm going to have written that on your mirror. Welcome to my world. In lipstick? Yeah, red lipstick on your mirror. Okay, well.
Well, so what do you propose, my friend? Here's a proposal. There's a proposal. I've never made it out of the first round. I will be. I've never made it. Eddie, this is the year. It could be the year. No. I will be. I'll be your guy's mentor. I'll be the mentor. So you're the host and the mentor? I like where you're going. I like where you're going. I do. I'll be host and mentor. I'll be like Barry Manilow, you know? Wait. Coming on to share my thoughts with you. Neil Sedaka. Yes, I'll be like Neil Sedaka. And, yeah, and you guys perform. And, you know, no holds barred. Do whatever you want. Go for it. You know what I mean? Well, so are we going to do it the traditional way where we do different rounds and we're here in the studio singing? Oh, it's so much. I know. To do like three songs. I can't do it. You're asking a lot of us secrets. Not that I've ever seen more than one. Well, that's true. But you have to prepare three just in case. I'm going to throw an idea out. Oh, man. I don't like you're doing this. What are you doing to us? I'm going to throw an idea out. Throw it at me. I'm going to give you two words and then you just discuss the words I put there. Your words are like cinnamon.
Wait, they're like cinnamon? Sometimes it's overpowering. Oh, okay. It's true. I've never thought about it, but yeah, you're right. Listen to these two words, and you tell me what you think, okay? Live outdoors. Just take those words. Take those words. Take those words what I just said. Take them back. Take those words I just said. Hold up. Take the words I just said. I'm in. I like outdoor. I like, so it would be live outside. It's an outdoor summer venue. A summer venue. Yeah, it's an outdoor summer venue. The crowd will love me. Oh, the crowd will love you. I'm a better live performer than I am in the studio. Me too. Don't get him in the studio. Well, so would we still do rounds or would we just do like one song? No, let's do one song and just go for it. I'm fine with this. I'm fine with this. So we're going all out on one song. One song. You know what's up. And then how are we going to vote? Because we used to do the vote over the phone. I'll get one of those decibel. counters or meters or whatever, and I'll tell people to make noise. Crowd response? Yes, yes, yes. I have a chance. That's all I'm saying. This does up your chances, Ted. I'm not going to lie. Now, does this also increase Shawnee O'Boy's chances? Of course it does. Because he does his creepy performances. I don't know what you're talking about.
I think when you watch him perform, it makes it worse. Can you imagine? It's going to be awkward. I can't wait. It's going to be awkward. I love it. No, I have another question. Zed. What about? Is he in? Oh, we have a new spot. I mean, you're out. There's an open spot, Mike. I say yes. I say please yes. Just to watch him crash. I'd love to see him choke again. He's awesome on a stage. He's doing the facial sign for tears coming down his face. Well, he does get emotional. Especially when he sings. Jerk's journey. Pitching a tearjerker is what I meant. Eddie, I would like to be at Seacrest. Oh, wait, what was that? What did you say, Mike? I would like to be at Seacrest. Oh, wow. Oh, that's so clean. It is. It's pristine. We could probably arrange that. I would like to be at Seacrest. That's awful. That's an awful thing. You realize that every gay reference on the show now. That is going to get played. That's awful. I would like to be Seacrest. How do you feel? PDA, Mike. Mike, if you could be one person, would you like to be Clay Aiken or Ryan Seacrest? I would like to be Seacrest. Oh, okay. Yeah, I mean, out of the two. You people are so funny. With your pulling of audio, right?
Oh, man, that was fun playing that clip a couple times, wasn't it? It'll be fun for a long time. You're a witness to history, San Diego. So what do we think? I'm in. If it's outdoors on the outdoor stage, I am in. Yeah, because we're going to have a stage out there for doing tons of stuff. And since it's more of like a performance now, can we have a plan? Can we maybe bring other people in to help us? Can you do different things? This is getting out of control. Do whatever you want. Calm down. I am still reeling just from the thought that you accepted this because I thought about bringing this up and it was 100% in my mind that there would be a revolt, first of all. Oh, no way. And that it would not be agreed upon. So I am... Well, taking you out of it helps a lot. Because you are... A genius behind the microphone. You're a songstress. You are the Whitney Houston of the show. Yeah, you are. I was going to say Barbra Streisand, but you're right. I'm trying to up it a little bit. Okay, Whitney. Will you allow me to do a mentor performance at the end when it's all over? But it's not part of the competition, right? No, not part of the competition. Absolutely. Whenever you'd like. So during the results show. Yeah, during the results show. During the results show. You sing. Yeah, I'll come out and I'll do a special.
performance. I'm in on that. I would love to hear that. I would like to be Seacrest. We heard you already. How many times? We know. That was a clip, you guys. Are you talking about what aspect would you like to be Seacrest? For his radio show? Love life. I think the love life. Hey, just real quick. Let's be real quiet for a second. I don't want to be Seacrest. Can we pull that? No, no. It was a bad take. Not going to get pulled. I would like to be Seacrest. Mikey's show. Hello. I wanted to know if you guys are going to do any kind of like Iron Show cook-off type show outdoors for the people. Yes, we are. Yes, we are. Yeah. You have like a surprise ingredient and then you just cook it right on the spot. Well, actually, actually, what we're going to be doing is this actually came up on the air the other day. Ashley believes that her boyfriend, Mark. Oh, my God. She believes that her boyfriend, Mark, truly loves her cooking. Yeah.
So what we're going to do is we're going to blindfold Mark and we're going to have Eddie and Ashley cook the same meal and have him take a blind taste test. I will even let Ashley even pick the menu and I'll cook whatever she wants and I'll just make it better. Oh, there you go. Something that he hasn't tried from either one of them. and see which one he likes. It can be whatever she wants. I don't care. Right. I'll make it fair because I'm not going to just win, you know, willy-nilly. Like, I take this competition fierce. What does she say? By the horns. As the crow flies. As the crow flies. Not necessarily because I'm not going to be basic. I'm going to spice it up. You have a good work ethic. Yeah, you do have a good work ethic. Ash, I want you to think about it. And before we leave, come up with a menu. Something that... You'll both be cooking. Not a problem. You got it. I've got ideas already. She's going to work it out. Uh-oh. She's going to work it out. Wednesday, October 8th is going to be the biggest, by far the biggest day this year for the Mikey show. I can't wait. This is kind of my tone. I'm going to have to consider this song. Oh, I like it. Yeah. You're worth it. Do it. If you missed it, Sky announced that McCain says he will be there tonight for the debate. So live from Mississippi tonight. Yeah.

My mother wore a marquee cut single stone with a two-tone ring. And mother's mother had a marquee cut single stone with a palladium ring. Grandma always was a little spunky. But I really want to create my own tradition. Of course, letting Mother know will require a bit of tact. Traditions matter, and we're here to help you choose from thousands of classic styles. As for the diamond itself, I already know it has to be round cut. No matter the style, we'll help you select the perfect diamond that's just right for you. This Sunday at 1 o'clock, all the action can be heard here right on Rock 105.3. Norm Turner says, is it going to be easy against Oakland? There's no question. They've added a lot of good football players to the football team. They are really running the football, and they're defending the run. So it's going to be a very, very physical style of football. It's going to be a physical game.
You okay? I'm fine. We're in Oakland. I don't know why everybody's asking so many questions about you. I mean, we just want to know your thoughts, but you seem very upset. The thoughts are we're traveling up north. I don't know what more you want to hear from you. Do you know a guy named Casey? Yeah, he's a friend of mine. You guys seem a lot alike. We actually seem exactly alike. Yeah, he gets nervous talking in front of you. He gets very nervous. Casey actually gets very, very nervous when he is talking in front of people. Don't we all? In the mic, Casey. In the mic. Thank you. Sorry? Sorry? Uh-oh. Sorry? Why does he make those sounds? Nerves. Definitely nerves. Nerves? In the middle of the song? It happens. Very unprofessional. Sorry to interrupt that YouTube moment.
Let's do some more U2. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because we had an interrupted U2 moment. Kind of looks like Spaghet. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no I appreciate it. I like it. Get a wig. That's right. Eddie had some issues with his DVR. What was going on? What are we talking? Bad stuff. Oh, no. That sounds bad. Hey, what happened? What happened? I've been taping a lot of stuff lately just because there's been a ton of new shows going on.
And I go to watch them and it's like it's blank. Yeah. Like they're nothing taped. What is that? And then sometimes, you know, I'll keep trying, trying. And then, you know, you hit play from the beginning and then it'll immediately go, do you want to delete this thing? You know, that comes up at the end. I used to have that. And I went, what the heck is going on? We've had that too. Really? Yeah, recently. Yeah. So I don't know what the deal was. So on the instructions, you know, you can look up. troubleshooting stuff. It says you can reset your DVR. You press this crazy red button. You don't want to mess with it. And I will reset your DVR. So I said, alright, I guess I have to do this because a lot of my stuff didn't tape and I was really upset. So I hit it, does the resetting thing, and it completely jacked up every single one of my season passes. No way. And so I had to go back in and reset all of my season passes. It took me forever. It was brutal. We reset our DVR like once a month. You do? Yeah, because something's always going on with that thing. That's the first time I've ever had a problem like that. My DVR gets real hot. We have to have little fans to blow the air out. Breathe again. Breathe again. I was singing that to my DVR the other night. Breathe again. Breathe again.
Ashley, this cannot be true. She said that last night she watched her programs, played on her computer, had some chicken noodle soup, because I'm sick. Duh. It was really delicious. Now, what I'm sure she means is that mommy's just not feeling that great, but she's not sick. I think it's the street slang. Like, that's sick. Yeah, it's... Oh, no, guys, that's sick. That had to be sick. Chicken noodle soup is sick, yo. Yeah, what's up? Sickest soup I've ever had. Sick. Yeah, that's must. No, I see how you guys would think that. The noodles are sick. I use that a lot. Dude, you're sick. Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah. But you're feeling great, right? No, I feel sick. Okay, I want to kill her. I feel mentally sick. She can't. She can't. She can't. She can't. She can't. She can't do that. Oh, my gosh. What am I supposed to not come in? Mike. That's the road at all. Mike. Quarantine her. We're like a week away from the 28-hour show. She's the host of Mike.
Like a week away from the biggest show we ever have done. And she's going to get us all sick. I'm not coming in. Can I explain? Hang on. Let me restore order. May I explain? Yeah, let's restore order. She's going to explain to us. She's about to explain to us why I've said if you're sick, don't come to work. She's about to explain. She's about to explain. Listen to me. All right, all of you fools. Go ahead. I'm in my own little box over here. You don't got to come in here. You don't got to touch anything I'm touching. You're fine. You're all fine. I do. You're fine. Can I have a conversation with you, Eddie? You're fine. Can I have a conversation with you? You're fine. You're all fine. We all go in there. Wasn't she just in here getting food? I didn't touch anybody, did I? You touched the doors. She touched the door handles and everything that we touch, and then we wipe our eyes, and then we, you know what I'm saying?
Was she in here getting the food? I used her mic yesterday to cut a commercial. I did, too. I did, too. I did, too. No, you did not. I did. I was in there cutting a commercial for... What's it called? What's it called? What's it called? What's it called? Nothing. Nothing. What did I have to cut? BMW. That was, like, Tuesday. Well, I've kind of been sick all week, let's be honest. Oh, dude. Well, this is all making sense because... Listen, guys, I feel, like, okay. I don't think I'm contagious. I think it was Monday. She was sneezing, and I looked at her. I'm like, are you sick? And she goes, no, no. Well, I was visiting my sister who had the flu, but no, no, I'm fine. I was like, okay. I feel fine. I just. A week, like a week away from the 28-hour show. What, am I supposed to not come in? Yeah. She was in there sniffling yesterday, and when I looked at her, I went, I know she's not sick. No, I'm not. Well, I've been pretending I'm not. She says no, she's not. Ignoring it. But it says right here. I'm not feeling well. I have a headache now. I have a headache now. Okay, I'm fine. I'll work it out. Hey. What? There's new ways of checking now in days. Oh. I didn't say what way, you weirdo. Oh, well, that's inside me. Normally, that's inside me. She is a pervert. She is. Just saying. All that Cinemax you watch. Shut up. Quit watching that porno channel Cinemax. No, I said I rented chick flicks and I was going to watch them tonight. Yeah, right.
Is that what they call them now? No. I got made of honor. I got made of honor in the mail. Oh, I get it. Made of honor. No one. Right, Skye? Okay. Good one. Yeah, all right. Ashley. She's not. I feel all right. You're in denial, buddy. I'm not. You're in denial. I care for her. I don't think she's that. I don't think I'm contagious. Ha, ha, ha. Well, how did you get it then? You are funny. It could be a couple things. It could be the flight. It could be that my sister had the flu. Or it could be the fact that the seasons are changing. I'm just not sure. But it'll be fine. I'm going to kill her. You're funny. Mikey Show. Oh, yes! It's a proven fact. Nothing beats the power of two. After all, two heads are better than one. Oh, yeah, regularly. Yes, it does. Yeah, the husband always suggests that he will make, you know, some concoction. I say, let's have oatmeal, sometimes with toast.
For dinner, that's fun. Yeah, it's yummy. That would be so upsetting to me. Having oatmeal for dinner would upset me. It's like a joke. I prefer it. I prefer having a larger lunch and then a little small dinner. Well, yeah, but oatmeal's not dinner. It's breakfast. Who said? Who said? America? Yes. Citizens? Yes. Quaker? 105.3. You like Wing Chun? Dance all day. This is one of my favorites of all time. Of all time. Of all time? Of all time, yeah. Okay. That would be interesting to know what Sean's, like, his top five all-time 80s. I would give anything for that list. Like, what makes that list? Sean, off the top of your head, can you think of a few? No way. No way. Monday? Can you have it by Monday? I'll have it by Monday, but I will not do it willy-nilly. Because it needs to be, like, scrutinized.
I have a feeling that in order to do that, Sean would need to have every song, regardless of format, ever made in the 1980s in front of him. And for some reason, I picture him at a typewriter and like ripping the things out. Throwing it in. Yes. A hundred percent. And then there's like all those crumbled balls right by his waste paperback. That's right. Every once in a while, I shout at the clock more times. You're sweating, crying at one point. Well, he just said. I don't know about the clock. He just said right now, everybody Wang Chung tonight is one of his. No, he didn't. He didn't. Dance All Days. Dance All Days. Dance All Days is one of his favorite songs of all time. But we should expect that on the list. Well, if he was willy nilly saying that, then that means that he at least feels strong about that song. Second row, fourth and pink. All right. Nice. One of the all time best. It's a great song. But that would mean he would have to bump maybe a Culture Club song or Depeche Mode. How dare you? How could he do that? If memory serves, if memory serves, his favorite Culture Club song is Time Clock of the Heart. That is correct. And don't you like Thomas Dolby? I love Thomas Dolby. Gary Neumann. I know you like Gary Neumann. No? Here's Time Clock of the Heart. I'm so happy.
He is. He put his hands up to his face and he just gets so happy. What do you want, man? It's perfection. I love it. Perfection? It's good, man. Sean loves the 80s music. He loves it. She's sticking tissue up her nose. I've been doing it all week. Where have you been? You stare at me all day. I've been doing it all week. I don't understand why all of a sudden it is. I don't know. She's trying, right? She's trying to get under my skin. Why is she doing that? She's trying to get under my skin. What do I do? What do you mean, what do you do? She's your responsibility. Who? You. Me? You're sitting right there. It's your girl. It's your girl. You're the walking talker. Next time I will stay home, but you've got to believe me when I say I'm sick.
Of course we would. I don't think anybody's ever doubted you. I've never said that you weren't sick. You thought I was faking it. I've never said that you were faking it. You absolutely have. Don't you go dying on me. When I had the flu, I was bedridden. You thought I was faking it. You did? What? Yeah. Way to go, Mike. It's your fault, Mike. It's your fault, Mike. It always really is. Yeah. Do you think Seacrest has to deal with this stuff? Very good point. I would like to be Seacrest. It's quite a statement, Mike. Forever. I would like to be Seacrest. Yeah, we heard you the first time. I like the dramatic pause in there. I would like to be Seacrest. I didn't do it like that. You're gay! That was a little... I would like to be Seacrest. We get it. You're a fan. What?
Isn't that why he's saying that? He is a gay man. Oh, that's why he's saying it? I want to have Hawaiian barbecue on the 28-hour show. That just occurred to me. Oh, it just occurred to you right now. It would make me feel better. About what? I would like to be Seacrest. About that. About the fact that we're all going to be sick that day. Yeah, that's going to be brutal. Don't say that. What if we get this Thursday of next week? Not cool. Do we cancel? No. We can't. We have so much going on. We can't cancel. I can't do the 29-hour show sick. I physically can't. Yeah, I can't either. What? She needs a medal or something for today. No, I beg. Tear down this wall. A ball's medal. Oh, yeah. A medal for the biggest balls. I'm telling you. She's made of brass. Yep. It takes brass balls. It does. Oh, man. Oh, that's awesome. Let's move on. What's up, Mike? Let's do it, Seacrest. Yeah, come on. I would like to be Seacrest. Oh, my gosh. Even Zeth is busted on you. That's got to be. That's rad. That is rad. I get one chance. You know what it is? He recognizes that I'm injured. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
He's like a vulture. He sees me wounded right now. And so he's like, now's my chance. I have to swoop in. I was only below the hard deck for a minute. I had the shot. I took it. Sky has new movies that are out this weekend. Oh, yeah. We got a couple new movies coming out today. First, we have Eagle Eye. It's Shia LaBeouf. I don't know what. Oh, that looks good. I'm serious, man. It does not look good. It does. It's like espionage. It's a thriller. I kind of want to see it. Yeah, man. It looks awesome. Okay. Can we talk about Steven Spielberg? Yeah, sure. Because I thought Steven Spielberg only did like really cool, like big movies. Well, I think he thinks that this is. big movies. He can produce... Oh, he'll produce junk if he wants to? Okay. I thought his executive producing stuff was kind of... This looks like it's supposed to be big. Sure. I mean, I think it'll make money. There's not a lot of stuff out there, but I mean, he produces a lot of stuff. Okay. We have Nights in Rodanthe. It looks awesome. It looks awesome. It looks awesome. I can't wait. What is she talking about? I cannot wait.
It is this horrendous-looking Richard Gere, Diane Lane. Oh, come on. Best in, like, the Hamptons or something. Mike, it's by the author of The Notebook. He's not ashamed to do it. Okay. You've got to be kidding me. That's terrible. Wait a minute. Nights in Rodanthe. Oh, wonderful title, too. It's a beautiful place in North Carolina. Is it? Yeah. Rodanthe? Yep, yep. It's where the Seaside Inn is, you guys. Oh, yeah. They fall in love. Shut up. You kids are fortunate to have someone who loves them as much as you do. I try so hard. Your man is a fool. Oh, boy. Come on. No, I'm incredible. It's a soap opera. I want to go watch it now. Me and Eddie and Rob and Sean should go and heckle, you know, like we're in there with popcorn and our feet up on the... Oh, yeah, dude. I am down. Exactly. Like in Cape Fear with his cigars. That's not cool, dude. Hospital bed. Oh, yeah. I do blame myself.
Oh, boy. I mean, there was one thing that I thought I got right in this life. It's being a good mother. I can't just do whatever I want to whenever I want to. No? Maybe that works for you. It doesn't work for you. Sorry, I just can't. Oops. Oh. Well, it's based on the book, also by the same author who wrote The Notebook and A Walk to Remember. Oh, yes. Another name. Have it all. That was the soundtrack. That's from the soundtrack. That also needs to grow up. Didn't we have it all? Forgot a word. The nights we spread together. Beautiful. Yep. Also out today. Let the romance begin. Didn't we have it all? You're missing a word. Didn't we have it all? Too many words there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He added one, yeah. A little too much. Borrow one or something. All right. Also out today, Miracle at St. Anna. What is that? Spike Lee. I was way off. Oh, it's a Spike Lee joint. But the cool thing about it is it stars Laz Alonzo. Oh, good. Well said. It stars Laz Alonzo.
Didn't he win last coming standing? No. Yeah, he did. The names are close. Yeah, that was Josh Blue. No. Here's Laz Alonzo on Spike Lee. He's a powerful director. I mean, there's no question who said it is. You know, he's not afraid to get his hands dirty or his feet. You know, I mean, the first. I do not know what you mean. I do not know what you mean. I don't know what you mean. Ten days that we shot was in the Cirquio River. A lot of directors will direct from a video village. Spike was in the water with us. We were in there 10, 12 hours in the water. Spike was in the water 10, 12 hours. Spike's in the water. Cage goes in the water. Sharks in the water. You go inside the cage. Cage goes in the water. You go in the water. Sharks in the water. We were in there 10, 12 hours in the water. Spike was in the water 10, 12 hours. Right next to us. Everybody was in the water. Oh, that's fantastic. Oh, fellas, I think he's back for his afternoon lunch. Okay.
And finally out today, we have Choke. Which is, gosh. Hey. What kind of releases are you doing? No, these are like major movies. Yeah, you pervert. You will choke. Oh, wow. New releases from F Street today, Mike. Okay. Scott, you can leave those off the list. Well, no, no, this is a real movie. It's a dark comedy about a guy. That's my favorite kind. Nice. Thank you. Let me tell you something. BMW Encinitas is a top-notch organization. It's been run by a guy named Brian Wood. He's the new general manager there. And when he came in, BMW Encinitas was a mess. And he's cleaned it up. He, under his management, has basically taken every single aspect of that place and made it into a beautiful, polished diamond. And they want your business. They want you to come down there and see what they've done. That's his whole thing. Just get them in here. Get them in here to try our service. Get them in here to buy a car. Get them in here to go into our parts department and see how they're taken care of. And I go there myself. So I'm not giving you an endorsement about a company that I don't actually use myself. I go there myself. Get a loaner. It's going to be a BMW. And I know that that's important to a lot of people. They're about 25 minutes from, it's important to me, 25 minutes from just about anywhere in San Diego. They got a website, BMWEncinitas.com. They're located on Encinitas Boulevard between the five and El Camino Real. It's Encinitas BMW. Now, here's something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey Show. Eddie, Ashley, and Rob.
Yeah, she lucked out. She's never heard of that movie. We will start with Eddie. Movies with the word city in the title. City of God. City of angels. Oh, you took mine. The city that never sleeps. City of who? Citizen Kane. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Back. It's a Mikey Show. Yeah. It's 9.39. The L.A. District Attorney's Office announced yesterday that no charges will be filed against Shia LaBeouf for his July car crash. Huge upset in college football last night. Number one, USC falls to Oregon State 27-21. I've got some pretty interesting statistics here. Ooh. Skytistics? Some skytistics. Oh, yeah. I got some skytistics. With the economy in turmoil, what will you be cutting back the most?
This was asked of American citizens. So, I'm going to give you some, and I want you to tell me. What percentage of Americans said that? What percentage of Americans said shopping? Skye? I'm going to say that's probably one of the lesser answers. Whatever I'm trying to say, you know what I mean? So, I'm going to say 10%. Eddie? I would say that would be the opposite. I would think most people would try and... stop frivolous shopping, I'll say 53%. Ashley? I was thinking 22%. Shawnee, oh boy. I kind of agree with Eddie. Oh, big surprise there. That's just shocking. What? Oh, nothing. What do you think? Eddie's thinking 53%. I know. I'm just saying I agree.
Yeah. I mean, not necessarily with his percentage, but I agree with him that, you know, stopping privilege shopping is something that people are definitely going to want to do. For sure. Absolutely. For sure. Yeah. So what would you say? I'd say 54%. Oh, that's an interesting guess. Rob, it's funny because I kind of agree with Ashley. Oh, see? Hold on. You know, I was going to go 22, but I was thinking maybe a little more, so 23. Zeth? 70%. Hey, calm down. This is really interesting. Ashley would have been right, but Rob was 1% higher, and it's actually 28%. So Rob, you are out. Absolutely. 100%. Wow. Yes. Thank you. 28% of people said that with the economy in turmoil, that's what they will be cutting back the most. Huh. So, what did they say about going out to dinner? Eating out? Yeah. Zeth? 15%. Rob? Um...
34%. Sky. 45%. Ashley. Yeah, I said big time. I said like 60%. Oh, my. Big time. Sean. I think it's actually a pretty high number as well. I will say 62%. What are you doing? Eddie. That's really interesting. Eddie, don't you... Oh, what were you thinking? I'm trying to figure out... Let's just review. Zeth said 15%. Rob said 34%. Sky said 45%. Ashley said 60%. Yeah. And Sean said 62%. Eddie, what do you think?
In all honesty, I think it's going to be a big number because I think that a lot of people are going to try and cut down going out to eat. I mean, it's expensive. So, I don't know. 63%? Wow. Quite a guess. I don't know. Okay. Shut up, dude. You do know. I mean, you have to throw a number out there either way. Either way. And I just, I'm going to go with the first number popped in my head. It was 63. Eddie, do we have anything that we can give away? Do we have anything that we can give away? What can we give away? Zeth, what's that gaming thing? EFRA Gaming Expo. All right, cool. 570-1053. Call us at 570-1053. One of these people hit it exactly. It was me. You know it was me. Now, let me review. Let me review. The question was, with the economy as messed up as it is right now, What did Americans say they would be cutting back on the most? Now, when it came to going out to dinner, one of these is correct. Sky said 45 percent. Eddie said 63 percent. Ashley said 60 percent. Sean said 30 or excuse me, 62 percent. And Rob said 34 percent. Which one of those is exactly right? Is it Sky, Eddie?
Ashley, Sean, Rob, or Zeth? Zeth said 15%. Call us right now, 570-1053, and tell me who you thought nailed it. Captain Dave. Yeah, what's up? What do you think? I think it's Sky, and you know I'm right. Sky's always right. Thank you. That is a valid point. That is a valid point. Put it on the board. Sky was... Save that clip. Sky was... Incorrect. I am sorry. It's rare, but it happens. Let's see. P1 Jeff. Yes, sir. Who do you think it was? I think Sean's got it. Yes, dude. No chance. You would be incorrect. It was not Sean. Should have said 63%. Mikey Show, who do you think nailed it? It's one of three people.
It's either Eddie, Ashley, or Rob, or, excuse me, four people, Eddie, Ashley, Rob, or Zeth. That is, hold on. That means either Eddie, Rob, or Zeth nailed it exactly. Any way you look at it, you're a winner. Eddie said 63%. Eddie said 63%. Rob said 34%. Zeth said 15%. Mikey Show, you are. Correct. Check it again. 63. The Wizard got it with 34% exactly. Hang in the line. Yeah, 34%. That's it. That's not that much, right? Economy and turmoil. Most people are still going out to dinner. Food's good, man. Tastes real good, right? Oh, yeah, it is. Tastes good in your belly. I like it. Last place you went out to eat, Eddie?
Good question. The pressure is on. Hold up. Wait a minute. Don't mess this up. So not to-go. Anything. Physically. Anything. Any restaurant. It's an easy question. Listen, man. I got a lot going on. There are a lot of choices. We took to-go food from an Italian restaurant by my house. He said that doesn't count. I thought he said it does. But I said, yeah, anything. I said restaurant. You pay attention, 105.3. Yeah. We had an Italian restaurant called San Filippo's. Nice. La Mesa. Hey. Hey. You need to borrow some money or what? Sky. Yeah. Last place you had dinner. It was my romantic anniversary dinner at Spire's Diner. Boston Rob. Last night, my appearance, Fred's Mexican Cafe. Ashley. Phil's Barbecue last night was delicious. Nice. Lucky.
Delicious. Lucky. Lucky. Shawnee, oh boy. Last time I was there? Should I do that? No, no, no. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Actually, do it last time you were here. Yeah, because we went to my favorite place, which was that Mexican restaurant. Oh, yeah, yeah. Fidel's. Fidel's, yeah. Fidel's. Great place. Fidel's. Fidel's. Fidel's. You know I like Fidel's. They do the... charred jalapenos on your plate. Oh, yeah. It's so good. Charred up. I like to take a knife and cut those up into little pieces and then make a little burrito with a, you know what I'm saying? Yeah. Zeth, what about you? What's the question? Last place you had dinner. Went out to dinner. Does it count when we ate at Harrah's? If that's the answer. If that's the answer, that counts. I ate a pizzicato last night. That's good. That's the best pizza I've ever had. Let's see. What do we got? What do we got? What do we got? What do we got, Mike? We got a lot of stuff, actually. Tell us about it. We got a random debate. You want a random debate? Oh, dear. Bring it. Who wins in a fist fight? NSYNC against New Kids on the Block. Who wins? Now, wait a minute. Now, this is easy. This is so simple. No, no, no. You guys are all jumping to conclusions here.
What are we jumping about? I'm assuming you're all thinking that NKOTV would win. Dude, if there's a Wahlberg in the fight. If there's a Wahlberg in the fight. If there's a Wahlberg in the fight. Thank you. Thank you. May I remind you. You know they don't fight fair. No debate. Dude, all of NSC is going to slap fight. I'm going to say one word. Yeah, kiss fight. We're going to kiss fight. NSC goes to kiss fight. And like serious kiss fight. They're serious. Oh, really? You want to kiss about it? I have one word to say and it will end this debate. What is it? Phutone. Whatever, dude. You just reinforced our argument. Are you kidding me? It's pronounced Fatone. Oh, wow. I've been saying it wrong this whole time. That fat guy can beat up any one of those new kids. No way. Absolutely. No way. He's a goofy... You don't think Timberlake is tough? He's a goofy Pillsbury. I just watched the cribs with him. You're from Boston. Dude, let me tell you.
That Donnie's not going to fight fair. Thank you, Mike. No way, dude. He's going to kick, and he's going to pull. Chris Kirkpatrick. How dare you? How dare you? Don't bow. Don't bow. Did he just say a cuss word? How are you bowing? I'll head rush. Hey. I don't even know what that means. You're a man. This guy's got a set of rocks on him. You're a man. What's your problem? Set of rocks on him. That was awesome. I think I just won the debate. I think you might have, actually. Now, what if you threw the Backstreet Boys into that equation? A three-way rumble. That's right. Now, let's recognize the Joey factor. You have to take Donnie out of New Kids, and then it's a fair fight. You got Jordan. You got Joey. You got a bunch of girly girls on that team, and he's going to bring down. It's going to be Donnie versus everybody.
And you have to take Donnie out of it for it to even be a fair fight. I agree. He's overrated. Donnie can take on all of them. It's a bunch of effeminate guys in sweaters slapping each other. With tutti-frutti hands. I mean, you shouldn't really talk because you want to be Seacrest. How dare you? How dare you? It was almost forgotten. I'd like to be Seacrest. All right. You don't think Timberlake could fight? No. I do. He can dance. He can dance. If it's a dance fight. If it's a dance fight. What if it was like, beat it? Like in Beat It. He'd win that rumble. I think Timberlake would give a run for it. I think he's kind of street tough. If by street tough, you mean he wants to give guys pink bellies? Then yeah. If you mean Mickey Mouse Club, then you're dead on. Have you seen him in that movie, Mike? The Dog Town? Dog World?
Alpha Beta. He's so ripped. He's so freaking tough in that movie, dude. He was so tough in that movie. Yeah, he was super tough. Black Snake Moan. Wait, he wasn't in that movie? He was. He was the black guy that looked like Sam Jackson. What a great person. He had the chain around him, right? Yeah. Really incredible. Oh, wow. I'm going in sync. No. I am going in. You're going to lose. You're wrong. You're just from Massachusetts. You're wrong. You're warped. You're wrong. Wow, we are going to make your butt. You have warped minds. I'll give Donnie credit. Yeah. He was tough back in the day. No, he is tough, dude. Did you see him? Oh, of course. You haven't seen Sixth Sense. Watch Sixth Sense and then you'll have a different opinion of Donnie. He had to drop a lot of weight for the role, okay? That movie was eight years ago. Dude, how have you not seen it? There's a Bostonian in it. Well, I didn't know that, first of all. Second of all, I'm going to rent it today. It's at my house, actually. After I watched Shooter. Oh, great movie. I've seen half of that. That was a great movie. It wasn't that bad. You're right, John. Thank you. Let's see. NSYNC! Hey, stop chanting NSYNC. Why? People start to talk. America.
This is not John Cougar Mellon Camp. Dude, please send that. I want to see. Skye, come here and get ready. Get ready to see the toughest band. Find the other, find new kids. All right. Yes! Send that to Sean. Okay. Send that to Sean. That's your point, Eddie. Dude, toughest band of all time. 105.3 Engine. Tire pressure. 1299. 1299.

When was the last time you checked the air pressure in your tires? Can't remember? Then it's definitely been too long. Did you know even tires in good shape can lose about one pound of pressure a month? And underinflated tires make your engine work harder, lowering your mileage. But don't overinflate them. You can usually find the recommended tire pressure on a sticker located on the driver's side door jamb. And speaking of air, air conditioning is not so hot for your car's mileage either. Whenever you turn it on, it puts an added strain on your engine. Now, at highway speeds, it's probably better to use the A.C. rather than roll down the windows because of the aerodynamics. But around town, enjoy the fresh air. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com. It's the J.C. Nick thought he'd never get over Tris. I'm taking a mental health day. Then he met Nora. So, how's it going? Awesome. Awesome night. Critics are calling Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist smart and hilarious. Are you off duty? This isn't a cab. Are you off duty? It's not a cab, my friend. I promise you. Four stars. What did you see in Tris? I could floss with that girl. Don't have to yell. It's not a train station. We're in a tiny car. Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. Rated PG-13. May be inappropriate for children under 13. In theaters October 3rd. Welcome back. It's K-I-O-Z San Diego. Oh, interesting. Very nice. Nicely done. Interesting. I don't know about our Fantasy Football League commissioner, Eddie. What's the matter? Well, I put in for a player on Tuesday. Yeah, I did the same. It just got approved yesterday. Takes forever. Somebody else got him. Oh, what? Yeah, somebody else got him. Really? Which means, yeah. Who was it? B-Dub.
What was Blair? JTL Sullivan. Yeah. Luke Perry's on the Today Show right now. What? Especially when you're so known as one thing. He still looks like he's 19. That's a weird thing. The fastest thing you'd want to do is go do something the exact opposite. Mind that. Go on to the next job. Okay, and he didn't want to talk about 90210. Let's go back. I guess he was real mad about doing 90210. Oh, he does not like talking about it. Oh, get over yourself. Let's see. Let's see. Yeah, he's real irritated. What else has he done? Thank you. Why would you also like talking to you, Luke Perry? They're showing footage of, I guess they interviewed him not, I guess they interviewed him like a week ago or something. On tape or something. It's on tape, but that's why they're showing it. Were you excited when you heard about it or did you not care? I didn't think about it. Really? You know what I can tell you right now? I can tell you this right now. I can tell you this right. First of all, his arms are crossed. Oh, that's bad. Yep. And I can tell you this right now. They agreed beforehand. They would not ask about 90210. Absolutely. Yep. No doubt. Really? Yeah.
Really? You're asking me that? Even though we agreed that you weren't going to ask me that? And so in his mind, he's like, so what do I do? And he's angry. Yeah, he's mad. He's like, I didn't think they were going to do this. So he's having it in his mind go, so do I talk about it or do I say? I can't say. What he can't say is that he had an agreement they wouldn't talk about that because that looks bad. That looks bad. So he has to make an instant decision. How am I going to roll? How am I going to roll with this? But let's go back a little bit. Let's go back a little. It said in one of the papers, the New York papers, that he huffed off the set. He was very upset about it. He was upset because he didn't want to be asked or talk about 90210, which is his other job. Why don't we let our people be the judge? Okay. Okay, let's roll with the tape. What did you think of the remake of 90210? Were you excited when you heard about it or did you not care? I didn't think about it. Really? That's like... Already I can tell you. He didn't dig it. Didn't like it. Didn't want to answer it. Hates this. That's the whole reason you then want to go and try... He is silently judging them. Oh, look at him. With his eyes. He's looking at them right now. And you've got to see the head go up.
I stay on them, but head goes up, and then head comes back down. I stay on them the entire time. Oh, yeah. Up, down, and there is silent judgment. So known is one thing. I would think as a serious actor, the fastest thing you'd want to do is go do something the exact opposite. You know, for the actor, it's never hard. You just go on to the next job. Okay, and he didn't want to talk about 90210. His body language was like this. He backed up, and that's all that was said. Crossed arms. And afterwards, I talked with him for several minutes in between. I talked about, you know, that's when you're an artist. And I specifically agreed with this. When you're an artist, if you're not growing, you feel like you're dying. It's a very... And how would you know? I have a question. Luke Perry, very obviously, he would have wanted to be an actor. He wished that his movie career would have gone beyond the movie eight seconds. All right. That's how long the career lasted. But he did a movie where he was like a rodeo guy. Eight seconds. And that was about it. Now, there may have been other stuff I just don't know about, but as far as I know. Now, on the show, if you're in your late 20s to 40s or whatever, you probably watch 90210. And so you remember the character Dylan?
And everybody liked Dylan because he was like the bad boy. I loved him. People loved Dylan. They loved him. Loved him. So it makes you wonder, you know, like, I wonder, okay, so this guy, he didn't get any, he didn't have a movie career take off. So this is my question. What could we cast Luke Perry in? Like, think of all the movies. It doesn't matter. Give me any movie that Luke Perry could have, because that's where you get the stumbling block. You're like, I don't know, man. It can't be anything funny. It can't be a comedy of any sort. A detective, maybe? Maybe. Like what? Undercover cop? All his IMDB stuff is TV. There's eight seconds. He was in The Sandlot 3. Ouch. We should have asked him about that. But then he's got two movies post-production 2008.
But everything else is basically good intentions instead of cruel intentions. I guess that's a sequel to that. Good intentions and what? You're just making things up, right? No, I'm not. And Recoil. What's that a sequel to? Coil. Okay, you got me there. The next one will be called Coil again. All coiled back up. Coiled that thing. That's Spike Lee's thing on the original. The prequel uncoil. That's a good one. Well, it's crazy because, I mean, of course he's going to get these questions everywhere he goes. Number one, because that's what he's known for. He probably gets it every day. Every day of his life. This new 90210, the huge revelation is that Dylan is Kelly's baby's daddy.
And so, I mean, his character, not Luke Perry, but his character is a huge part of this new 90210. But you haven't seen him yet, if he's going to be on it. Oh, no. And he specifically says that he will not. He won't. He will not. But they're still putting that character out there. Yeah, yeah. There is a discussion every episode. Oh, it's 90210. Yeah. Okay, we were talking about that Goofy Girl movie that's coming out today, and we mentioned The Notebook. What about the movie The Notebook? What if Luke Perry would have been cast as the lead role? The lead role. That dude. Well, isn't he like a Keanu Reeves where he's just a bad actor? Wow. Now, wait a minute. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Sorry. Now, hang on. Now, are we saying that we think that when he played Dylan, he was a bad actor? I don't necessarily think so. I didn't necessarily think he was a bad actor. No. But the problem is. Yeah. Is that it was very cheeseball and it was definitely very, like, hard to see him. As something other than... Hey, Brent. Yeah. He's also a... I hate parents. Yeah. It's really hard on me. The Walsh's, man. It's so hard on me. I'm going to go drink alcohol. Yeah. Sniff glue. Oh. I don't know. Eat some paste. Yeah.
Date Mackenzie Phillips or something crazy. Something crazy. You're crazy. Smell another person's flip-flops. Yeah. Next week on 90210, Dylan huffs a flip-flop. I'm so messed up on flip-flop right now. Wow. Poor guy. Yeah, must be tough. I need a flip-flop. Oh, no. Well, this went well. Thank you. What else? DJ AM back in L.A. Travis Barker's still in the burn center in Georgia, but DJ AM's back. Yeah, and they say that Travis Barker, I guess, got his burns were a bit worse than DJ AM's, and it could take another two weeks before Travis Barker can return home, but DJ AM was well enough to come home to L.A. yesterday. That's good. Yeah. Why is Steven Tyler suing people? Well, he is upset because I guess people have been impersonating him on a blog. On a specific blog? Let me see if it says a specific blog. Let's see. He filed a lawsuit against 20. We don't have to say the website. No, no. Against 20, John and Jane Doe's claiming they impersonated him on the Internet. Yeah, they do give the website. Okay, now wait a minute.
Now, they are like not impersonating him in like they're dressing up like him and pretending to sing like him. Not that kind of impersonation. They're actually. pretending they're Steven Tyler and writing a blog and presenting themselves as Steven Tyler. Yeah, I guess this, I believe this is like a blogging website that's kind of known. So they say there were 31 posts. Some people, some of the posts were pretending to be Steven Tyler. Some people were pretending to be his girlfriend. He's seeking an injunction to stop it. Why do you lie, liar? Because I guess part of the reason he got really mad is because they started talking about things like Steven Tyler. recently deceased grandmother, intimate details, I mean deceased mother, intimate details about his relationship with his girlfriend and children. So he's also suing for public disclosure of private facts, making false statements, and misappropriation of likeness. If you didn't hear it earlier, Sky announced that John McCain's decided that he is going to debate tonight. For shizzy. For sure. And so he'll be in Mississippi tonight.
Hope Obama's teleprompter's working. That's for sure. Come on. Can you smell what the Mac is cooking? I can. I can. Do you smell what Barack is cooking? Yes, I do. Yeah, it's yummy. I gotcha. I am ready to rumble. Who are you? You can call me Kilron. You're not welcome. Kilron. Come on, dude. Kid Rock's coming out with his own brand of beer next year. Yes. And the white trash trifecta has been completed. Yes. Dude, I guarantee you that that's going to be like a cheap beer, right? Well, they say they are promising a product appealing to beer drinkers who appreciate value with an easy to drink, traditional, good tasting American manufactured beer. That's smart. It's very, very smart. You know, Kid Rock's not going to go out there and make a like amber micro brew where he's going to be sticking his nose into a handful of hops to inspect.
The quality of the hops and the bar. I'm drunk. No, he's going to make something cheap that'll fit in your trailer if you have a small refrigerator. Yeah. Mini fridge. A mini fridge. Yeah, dude. You know what I mean? Yeah. It's going to be great. Yeah, dude, I drink it all the time. I don't drink it, all right? What do you drink, dude? Don't offer it to me, okay? A little fruity-tooty drink. You know what I like? I like a Bex every once in a while, all right? It's a great German beer, okay, dude? It comes in a green bottle. You know why? Coors. Yeah, I know you do, bro. I know you do. That's why your farts are so terrible, bro. You should switch to a German-made beer. Okay, that's a lager, what you're drinking, okay? I don't drink that. Mine comes in a green... Dude, I just blew cigarette smoke all over my BMW, all right? Dude, I farted. I didn't want you to smell that. Now it smells like you farted Willie Nelson, all right? That's awful. That's grody. I drink my beer from a green bottle. You know why? It maintains the integrity of the beer inside, all right? It doesn't come through. It's great. That just... Dude, I have to pull over if you keep doing that. Don't spit in my car, all right, bro? There's like bins of stuff in it. Yeah, dude. Have a little respect. It's got a little filter. I'm taking you on a call, all right? We're going to go on a call. Is that right? Yeah. Yeah, the boy's going to go with you, all right? That's great, dude. I don't need your help, all right? Kid does fine. All you got to do is just let me do the talking, dude. Oh, no.
I'll go in there and be like, all right, what pig wants to buy this? No, that's not how you do it. I wouldn't. One of you clowns is in charge. You've got to treat him with respect. Yeah, great. Here, buy it. Should we announce the 28-hour show segment that we were discussing the other day? Oh, sure. Ladies and gentlemen, on the 28-hour show, there will be an advice segment with Bauman and Woods. The Bauman and Woods. The real deal. So not you guys doing voices. No. The real deal. Not us pretending to be Bauman and Woods. The two real clowns. Straight out of Texas. Yes. Straight out of Texas. Awesome. Those two clowns. Awesome. Uh-oh. Real.
Fresh. It's too bad we're just thinking of it. We should have flown those guys in here for that thing. You know what I mean? Maybe we can. We should. That's going to be a mess. I don't know about that. They can't hang out, though. They got to go home at some point. Yeah, they can't be here the whole time. Let's see if they can get the eighth off. Mike, yes. And Sean just had a great idea, too. What? Sean was saying either way, even if we can't, we could do it by ISDN from our Clear Channel up there. Clear Channel Dallas. Clear Channel Dallas, bro, okay? It's called the Big Leaps. Just like having a big studio. Yeah, link them up, dude. It's called Market Number Five, bro, okay? Oh, wow. Pardon us. Yeah, Top Cinco, all right? Okay. That's all I'm telling you. Okay. El Toppe Cinco. All right, we get it. You're better than us. That's right. Your boy Bauman was the top salesperson, Clear Channel Dallas, four quarters in a row. Wow. Four quarters in a row. The only reason I didn't get that fifth is because me and my beautiful girlfriend went on a tropical vacation for four weeks. For four weeks. And then you broke up with her. That's right, and then I broke up with her. Why? Why would you break up with her? I cheated on her while I was out there. That's terrible. You want to know something? I feel terrible about it. I feel terrible about it.
You put down your gin and tonic as you tell me. I'm so sorry. How broken up you are. I should have put that down. I feel terrible about it. I don't really believe you. Can I get one more sapphire and tonic? Sapphire and tonic. Excuse me, sir. Can you get the attention of the gentleman right behind you? That's the bartender. Can I get one more sapphire and tonic? Thank you so much. You're a gentleman. He's a gentleman. He drinks a gentleman's drink. I was going to be electric. We'll be looking into that as soon as the show is over. That's a good idea. Get your questions ready for Valman and Woods. Are we going to stay at the W again? Only this time you're not staying in the kids' room. I can't afford my own place. You've got to save up, bro. I can't pay for you every time. I can't do it. I can't go on these trips with you, alright? Fine, I'll pay for it. I love the kids. I bring the party. That's sweet. All right. He ends up paying for everything with Woods. Does he really? Hey, dude, I'll pay you back. Dude, I got you. The kid got you.
You know I'm good for it. Come on. You need a friend like that, Rob. Yeah. That's right. I got one. He has one. His name's Eddie. His name is Eddie. Hey, I got you, dude. Don't worry. I'll hit you back on this one. I'll put it on the list. Put it on my tab. One of these days, you should have him pay the tab. When he hits the lottery. That's right. We should add the tab up. Just keep playing, please. I think we hit everything. Hit it. I think we hit everything. 570-1053. You already. You already. You already. Why did he do that? I already hit it. But you said. But you already. You said it's fun. 570-1053 is our phone number. All right. Sky. Keep it down. Good. It's our girl, Sky. How did B-Dub end up with J.T. O'Sullivan? I mean, how did that happen? How did that happen? That's all I want to know, because I put in for it. That's all I'm saying. I put in for it. Well, maybe he put it in before you. But, you know, just show me proof. Oh, well. Call him. Mikey Show, hello. I have a question for Ty. Is it a legitimate question? Wow. Yeah, it is a legitimate question. Go ahead. My question was, earlier she said that...
about Senator Palin, where she's not the only one getting questions asked. I just wanted to know. What? Hello? What did you want to know? Is this clown listening to his radio? I don't know. Are you listening to your radio in the background, sir? Is he in there? Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey, it's P1 Naked. How's it, buddy? What's up, dude? What's up, man? I just wanted to say I've been out of town for a while and just came back. I really miss you guys. Awesome. Awesome, man. Where were you? Mexico. Oh, really? What were you doing in Mexico? Wedding and visiting family. There you go. Well, welcome back. Well, thank you very much, and I'm really anxious for the 28-hour show. That's going to be awesome. All right, man. Appreciate it a lot. Got your boy on the inside line. Oh, no. Which one? Hey, dude, I'm calling in right now, okay? Woodsy. What's up, guys? There he is. There he is.
Woodsy. Woodsy, would you maybe be available on Wednesday, October the 8th? Let me check my calendar. I thought about it. I'm all the way in. No, I love it. What about Bauman? Do you think he could get that day? Yeah, he's 100% in, Tim. Yes! Is there any chance, if we paid for it, to fly you guys out here? Yeah, could you put yourselves up? And you'd be here most of the time anyway. Or not. I'm just saying. But could you guys, listen, if we took care of airfare, could you guys get car rental and a place? What days of the week would that be? Listen, I'm talking to you about the top sales guy four quarters in a row. I think you can afford it. Yeah, I mean, it's not the affording that's the problem. It's the time off. We're talking about Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday, Thursday. We start it Wednesday, October the 8th. We end Thursday, October the 9th. Yeah, 100%. Oh, no. 100%. You haven't even checked with Bauman. No question, all right? You haven't even checked with Bauman. You know what he's going to do, too. He's going to tell Bauman they're going. Yeah. I will tell Bauman we're going. He's going to pick up the hotel. So true. So true. It's so true.
Yeah, if you guys are serious, I mean, we'll make it happen. 100% serious. That's what we do. Those people out there, the P1s will freak out. If we bring them out on stage, the real Bauman and Woods. They'll freak out. It's fantastic. That's greatness. It's fantastic. Good, dude. Real good. You're in. I'm serious. No, I mean, I'll have to finagle something at work, but I'm not really worried about it. The great thing is, you have to see... The body gestures when they're talking, okay? The hands, the body gestures. They're very, you know, they're very, very, very... For their boys. That's what I'm saying. Animated. That's right. Very animated. Yeah, dude. For you, Mikey, dude, I'll do anything. All right? I'll take a bullet. Yeah, that's right. We'll take a bullet. We'll be out there. Okay? You just say the word. No one's asking you to take a bullet. Say the word. Don't shoot me, dude. I don't need to shoot you. No, I'm not kidding, dude. Do it right now. Do it. Pull the trigger. Okay? Because that's how much I love you. All right, bro? Come here. Come here. It's all right if I kiss your head, Kios? Is that all right? Yeah.
Talk to Bauman and see if he can get you guys hotel, and then we'll see if we can take care of the rest. Yeah, let's get it done. All right, Woodsy. Let's get it done. All right, Woodsy. We'll talk to you later. You're the best. Be good. See ya. Oh, no. Be good. I love him. He's the less refined of the two. It's true. Okay, Bauman is the classy. Yeah. Bauman is very classy. Ladies man. Bauman doesn't drink straight from the bottle. He drinks from a glass with some ice in it, okay? That's what a gentleman does. That's what a gentleman does. He drinks on the rocks, okay, Woodsy? Don't drink from that bottle like that, dude. And when you drink from the bottle, don't stick your hand like a fist right up. Don't do that. Got up at the very top of the neck. That doesn't look classy, bro. Be good, Bellman. You weren't raised in a barn, all right, bro? Actually, I was, dude. I forgot about that, dude. I forgot you were actually raised in a barn. I actually was. To all those people listening that were actually raised in barns, I apologize. It was not fun, all right? I realize that. I'm sorry. Make up for it. I'll buy you a drink, okay? Okay. Excuse me, bartender.
Can I get a natural light for this gentleman? Yeah, dude. Natty light. Natty light. Sorry. Natty light. P1 Dan? Yeah. What's going on? Not much, man. I'm home on leave from Fort Bragg. I'm getting ready to go back to Iraq. I just want to let you guys know I really enjoy listening to the show and kind of, you know, when I come home, I look forward to hearing you guys again. Sweet. Awesome, dude. Thank you for calling, man. Stay safe. No worries, guys. Have a good day. All right, brother. You too. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Hey, good morning, Mikey. P1 Gunslinger. What's up, Gunslinger? Hey, just wanted to thank you for keeping everything on the good note this past couple days and asking for you and everybody who prays their prayers for my father-in-law had a severe stroke. What's his name? Roy. All right, brother. And another thing I wanted to ask you, since you're becoming a BLT lover, I smoke and cure my own bacon. Yeah. Yes, I am. Okay, Mike, calm down. Yes, I am. I'll drop some off at the station here. That would be fantastic. That'd be fantastic. I will try it and tell you what I think. All right. Thank you, brother. P1, Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt. Hey, Eddie. Yo.
Hey, what's your take on Bud Black coming back next year? Do you think he should or no? Oh, wow. I think that whole organization needs an enema. That might be true. I agree with you. Yeah. Top to bottom, man. I think he's the first that should go. Who? What? I think he's the first that should go. Honestly, it's tough. It's not Bud's fault. I mean, look what he has to work with. I think Bud Black could probably be a good manager somewhere, but he's got nobody around him. Right on. I agree. All right. Thanks, bro. Thanks, man. Rob, you got something going on this weekend? Yeah. Tomorrow I'm going to be out watching college football at Trophies in Mission Valley. Nice. It's on Hazard Center Drive. So I'm going to be there from 1230 till 215. So come on down. Anybody else? Anybody else got anything going on? I'm going to be watching college football too. Are you really? It's about my house. I'm going to be watching Maid of Honor on DVD with Patrick Dempsey. I'm going to be watching the political debate tonight. I am too. I can't wait for that. I am too.
I'm really getting into it. She really does have the flu. Ash, maybe we can have you review it for us. You can break it down on Monday. I'd love to. You watch the debate tonight, and then on Monday, we'll have you break it down. That would be awesome. Okay, book it. Do it that way. Book it. We'll book it. The end of the show on Fridays, I tell you a little bit about my story and kind of where I came from. Man, I'll tell you what. I focused on this area a couple of weeks ago, I can't tell you how much I thought, man, there was really something there. I was talking about the issue of safety for me and having that feeling when I was growing up, when I was a kid, never feeling secure. The reason that it was coming back to me more and more is just I had this real powerful sense that a lot of people can maybe relate to that. Maybe you can, maybe you can't.
But that was something, that was a way that I grew up. I just never felt secure. I didn't feel safe. As I was growing up, I started to experience this thing where I also didn't feel very good about myself. Now, you don't have to say it out loud or maybe say it to other people, but maybe you're feeling that inside because that's the way I was. I didn't say it to anybody. I didn't tell anybody that I felt that way. I just did. And so there might be people that are listening right now. in their car, in their office, or whatever, that can relate to that feeling of when you were younger, even now, you have a feeling where you just didn't feel very good about yourself. I had a feeling when I was growing up that I just wasn't very worthy. Now, if there's people that are listening right now that go, yeah, yeah, I've felt that too, maybe you can relate to the stuff that happened with me later. I found alcohol.
And alcohol made me forget about a lot of that stuff. When I started drinking, I forgot about a lot of that stuff. And what ended up happening was I became addicted to alcohol. Because it made me feel like I was... It's not that it made me feel something. It was what it didn't make me feel. It was that I didn't feel all the stuff I just described to you. That's what alcohol did. It was that I didn't feel that stuff. If I describe the person that I am... I can tell you I can get addicted to anything. That's who I am. I get addicted to anything. Have been. Even hating myself. I've been addicted to that before. When I say addicted, I mean I couldn't have it any other way. Had to hate myself. And not like me. Alcohol. These are the things that I've been addicted to. Alcohol. Cocaine. These are things I've had issues with. And I would try all sorts of things.
To cure those issues. I would read books. I would try to forget about it with women. I would try to forget about it with porn. That's true. That's actually true. I did. I did that. I've tried all kinds of ways to forget about the issues that I had in my life. You may be listening right now and you have addiction as an issue in your life. You may be listening right now and you... have something that is secret, that you're not telling anybody about, like an eating disorder. You may have just broken up with someone. You may be going through a separation or a divorce. You may be a person that's listening and going, man, I've heard Mikey talk about this stuff before, but that's not me. But maybe deep down inside, you're thinking, yeah, maybe it is. And maybe when I just said that, you thought, he's talking to me. If you've ever experienced any of that stuff,
This next part's really important. Without having Jesus Christ in my life, I had everything to lose. Everything. Somebody said to me this week, faith made me really strong because that's where I've lived my whole life. But that night, man, I was laying in bed and I had tears streaming down the side of my face. I asked Jesus Christ to come into my life that night. I asked if he would change my life and restore. The stuff that I had kind of messed up. And he did. And he has been doing a restoration project on me ever since. And making me somebody that I couldn't be on my own. And so I tell you this story at the end of the show on Fridays because I want you to know that there's hope. There's really, really hope. If you go to MikeyShow.com, there's a keyword section there. You can type in the word help. And if you type in the word help, it's going to take you to a page that has...
a tremendous amount of resources that could literally save your life. So I really want to invite you to go to that page and click help in the keyword section, and I'll take all those things that I talked about. It can help you with. At the end of the show on Friday, I play a song by a band called Third Day that's going to be playing this weekend tomorrow night at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater. And this song is all about hope. And having hope in your life. And without Jesus Christ coming into my life and changing my life, I wouldn't have had any hope. Any hope at all. And so now you can go there and check out more on it. And I want to play you this song that I really want you to listen to the lyrics of. The lyrics to this song are so, so cool. And they're all about hope. Missy is coming up next. And today she has Free Form Friday coming up. We will see you again on Monday morning. The Mikey Show is out late.
