2007 wildfires. Less than 10% of the homes burnt last year have been rebuilt. Monday Night Football last night saw the Patriots do the Chargers a big favor destroying the Broncos 41-7. Quarterback Matt Castle talks about the Patriots win. It's a great victory. It's a great home victory, especially after last week and getting beat like we did in San Diego. We wanted to come home and make somewhat of a statement, and I think we did tonight. I guess so. I guess so because you did. They went out there and killed it. Austin Rob, did that help at all with your grieving process? Yeah, it took a little bit of the sting out. But, you know, all in all, I'm still reeling because baseball's done until April. Helps a little bit. I'm making that transition of football now. That's good. That'll help you. Sign on to my instant message. Oh, no. Just further proof that technology's just not where it's supposed to be.
It's not right, Mike. Yeah, it's not there. These things are foolish. I'll give you a for instance. This is something that I would like to happen. This morning, I went into my playlist on iTunes and I changed some stuff around. I said, I want this song over here, this song over here, right? I got a iPod in my car that's plugged in, you know, that I use in there. I thought, how great would it be if on my... I rearranged my playlist and they were just rearranged in my car. But no, that doesn't happen. You got to get the cord out. You got to plug it in. I bring it inside. Yeah. Why can't it be like a couple of girls live in an apartment together? It just syncs up by itself. It just happens. You don't really know how it happens. It just does. You're kind of thankful for it. I don't know about that. It's kind of like you don't want to know about it. Just let it happen and we don't have to talk about it. Because it's gross. That's really gross. Those poor ladies having to do their gross stuff. Oh yeah, the ladies too. Come on.
And they don't even care, man. They'll talk about it. That's my computer having to restart. What a big deal. They don't even care. They'll just go for it. I think it is a big deal. It is. If I had to do that, that would be a big deal. It happens every month. I mean, we're kind of over it now. You can never get over it. Yeah, us guys are not. We're not over that. We're not over that. You're being very dramatic. Well, let's do this. Let's fire up those phone lines, man. Yeah! 570-1053. And our text number is 35253. Eddie, did you have to mow the lawn when you were a kid or did you guys? You did? Yeah. Do you remember having to start that thing? Uh-huh. I hated starting the lawnmower. Yeah. If it was a tough one, then it would suck. Yeah. I'd sit there and yank and yank. Ours had a choke. Did yours have a choke? I think so. So you had to like work the choke just to get it going? Yeah. Just so dumb and I was always freaked out by it because I heard stories of dudes like tripping and their foot going underneath it and fingers. I had horrible allergies growing up and whenever I would mow the lawn, I would come in and my eyes would be like swollen shut and I'd be sneezing and my parents didn't care. They're like, whatever. Get back to work, kid.
Oh, man. Thanks. Maybe they could have found another chore for you to do. You know, you would think, but I don't think my dad liked it either. Oh, I see. He wins. We didn't even have a gas-powered one. You didn't? No, I had one of those push mowers. I got one of those in my garage right now. It's awful. Where it was, you just push it and it goes... Yeah, it's got like those stupid round blades, you know, and you have to push it off. Oh, man. This is awful. Well, that was terrible because it had no catcher, you know? True, yes. And our, it didn't matter, man. I don't know about you, Eddie, but our catcher was terrible. No, it was the worst. Well, ours was small, and so every, like, quarter of the lawn, I would have to stop, empty it, put it back on, half the grass would fall out. I'd be like, come on. Give me, like, a lawn Roomba. Yes. Oh, what a great patent pending. Nice. Dude, that'd be awesome. Or like a lawn flow be even. Something, man. Wouldn't it be great if you had a giant vacuum in your house that you could attach to some lawn mowing device? You could just suck that stuff. It's still not letting me sign up to the instant message. What the heck? Let's go home. Yeah. Oh, I figured it out, guys. Oh, darn it. My internet's not plugged in.
I figured it out. Wait, you don't have to plug in the internet. Oh, no. Did you unplug it this morning? Huh? Did you unplug it? I didn't. I plugged it in. I didn't. I didn't. Rob? I didn't. You just put in the little CD-ROM, right? Yeah, don't you put in the little CD-ROM and make the internet work? Yeah, you can chat with the professor. Mm-hmm. 5701053, the text number 35253. Oh, there I am. Oh, hello. Hello, sweetie. I'm signed on now. All right. Let's jump onto the pants zone. That's right. I don't know what that meant. Does anyone know what that meant? You can choose pleats or no pleats, cuffs or no cuffs. Oh, I gotcha. It's the internet. Okay. It's how you shop on the internet. Oh, I didn't realize. You go onto the website. You choose from at least seven or eight different pairs of pants. Oh, wow. They have that many now? At least seven or eight. Oh, man. And then you just...
write it on a form, and fax it to the manufacturer. That is really high-tech. Super high-tech. You know what Sean told me when he was here that I thought was really weird? I didn't know this. This is super geeky, but apparently, when they were first developing computers, every single thing on the computer was programmed with ones and zeros. That was it. Isn't it still like that? Is it? Well, at the machine level, yes. But not at the human level. Well, it is binary code. Stop it. You guys. Thank you. I don't think that my internet's working. What about your inner light? Try that. Focus on that. Rob, did you plug everything in the same way it normally is? Same as always. Uh-oh. You got to turn the internet button on. Flip the internet switch. I got to go outside and pull a cord like a lawnmower. Right. I don't know about you guys, but I am done with that commercial where the cow is getting pushed over by the forklift. I'm done. I'm done. I was done the first time I saw it. Yeah. Unnecessary. Unnecessary. Yeah, it's like, come on, you know? We get your point. We get it. Thank you. We get it.
And so you're going to vote in support of that. That's not right. I don't even know what it's for. It's for better conditions. No, that is not Prop 8. I think it's Prop 8. Is it Prop 2? I think it's Prop 2. I wrote it down. I don't even know what it is. It's about better living conditions. No, I don't care. You don't care if that cow is getting hit over by a four-point? I actually laughed the first time I saw it, to be honest with you. Okay, you're a horrible human being. What? It was like cow tipping. You and Zeth are horrible people. I can't hear you. I said it. I was here the first time I saw it. I said, what is that? High-powered cow tipping? I can't hear you. Sorry. It's the way I am. This cow finally got up and probably laughed. Yeah, right. Yeah, just like those people on Titanic are fine. They are. They were in Thriller. They were sleeping. Yeah. I don't think so. Come on. Whatever. We love animals. Yeah, so we don't want them hurt. Well, I eat them. Well, yeah, but we can do that in a humane way. Whatever. They're dying no matter what. Well, you're dying, but that doesn't mean. No, but they're dying and they're going in my belly. Well, you're dying eventually. That doesn't mean that we go around punching you in the face. That doesn't make any sense. It does. That's what they're made for, for me to eat. So that doesn't mean we have to torture them. Who's torturing you? Just pushing them over with a forklift. That's not torture. That is not cool.
You don't make any sense. That is not cool, bro. I think that what Eddie's saying is probably what the companies that work at those companies would say, too, you know? It's not necessary, Mike. We're eating them. What do you want them to do? Yeah, but that has nothing to do with... It tenderizes some. No, it does not. It does not tenderize. Sean, you don't know. I think I know a little bit about Philcliffe tenderizing. I don't know what you do. I don't know what you do. He's kind of an expert. Really? Okay. Let me see your badge. All right. Well, this is male and this is I am. So that's I am. That's working now. Here's male. Well played. Healthy debate. Healthy. I'm glad we talked it out. Yeah. Because it's been building for a while. You've really opened my eyes. Click on it. Okay, now look. See these exclamation points? Somebody, is there anybody listening in the listening audience that knows about Mac? Probably not anymore. I think that's not a Mac. All right, because I changed. Settings. Sean, how do you feel about the settings? I am feeling weird. Would you like some help with your internet? I would like to forklift those settings. I know it. Yeah, it's all right, guys. I'll figure it out. I'm done with a lot of commercials. Like what else? I'm tired of the Poltergeist. Yes, dude. It creeps me out. How many times? I hate that commercial with the...
Saved by Zero. Yes, dude. I hate that. It drives me nuts. It comes on and I jam for the remote to turn it. We are on the exact same page with the commercials we're done with. Dude, I hate it. Saved by Zero. It's a Toyota commercial, I think. It's brutal, man. Have you seen the MasterCard one with the little kids that they're back to school and they're dancing in the hallway? No. That is the best. This little kid books in, and he is jamming at it. He does one of the best robots I've ever seen in my life, and he must be like four or five. What's the product? MasterCard. I hate that Jack in the Box commercial with the two adults being pushed in the stroller. I haven't seen that. Brutal. I don't like the commercial where it creeps me out, where the fat lady's leaning over, and it's the little kid head on her body. Have you seen that? It comes on every morning. It comes on every morning. When we have it on NBC. Is that for Jacob's Ladder? Dude, seriously, that's what it looks like, man. What's the product? It's supposed to be like a, I don't know. So it means it's really working. It's really working. It's very effective. You know what commercial I'm not sick of? $5 for $9. You're ridiculous. $5 for $9. I am out on anything Michael Phelps related. I'm sorry. I agree. What is he in?
Everything. He's in that one for the internet. The commercial for the internet. Language learning software. Yeah, whatever it is. There's the phone one, phone service. He's really become quite the playboy and sort of like, yeah. He is hard to look at. Jet setter. Thank you. He's become quite the jet setter. I don't understand how he's a sex symbol to like who? Blind people? He's got a good body. Yeah, I understand he's a swimmer's body, but. I got the same body, Ashley. When you got a body like that, you know, you can be the faces. It's not so important. Wow. 570-1053. Text us at 35253. And let's introduce. My name's Mikey. I am 38 years old. I have to have short fingernails at all times when they get past a very, very short point. The standard is very high. They must be trimmed or it disgusts me. It makes me like just skeeved out. And I must cut them immediately. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy. And he is a homeowner and superintendent. He does both. He has both titles. It's like Schneider. That's right.
Mike Schneider. I do have that same denim vest, but... It's gorgeous. Roll my cigs in my little white t-shirt. That's right. It's cool. 570-1053. I'm going to go to the phones here in a second, so if you want to talk to us, call us up and text us at 35253. Sky is our news girl. Tomorrow's her birthday. Oh, wow. Wow. What? She already had a party. Why would you be excited? What are you excited about? Tomorrow's the day. Yeah, tomorrow we will definitely acknowledge it. She already opened her presents. She already opened her presents, though, right? What is there to be excited about? I don't get it. More acknowledgement? Thank you. It's a special day. It's a special day. I'm not going to do anything, really. I'm going to do stuff. Oh, you are? Yeah. I'm going to feel special all day. What's your hub going to do?
Well, the sky already happened. We already celebrated. No, no, I know. We already celebrated, and that was lovely. But my in-laws were supposed to be coming in town, four of them, three dogs. Everybody's coming. We were going to do this big old dinner thing on my birthday, and then they all canceled at the last minute, and nobody's coming. So there basically are no plans. I'm kind of thinking Outback. We'll have to see. Kind of thinking. Yeah. Please. Really? I'm obsessing about Outback. I'm addicted to bathhouses. Whoa! Maybe that could be a... Hold on. Stop. You never know. It's a special occasion. Sean is our sound effects guy. And he's a very tall man.
Growing my nails out, Mike. Why? Yeah, right. No kidding. Yeah, right. As a germaphobe. He has very short hair. And it's pretty freshly shorn. Yeah. And he does it with animal clippers. That's true. And Ashley is our assistant producer. She's growing out the bangs. She is 25 years of age. She's got an older brother, younger sister. She's from the Bay Area. And she went to San Diego State. You're smart. That's a pretty good way to describe her. Some people think she's an airhead, but they don't get it. Sometimes when you're, sometimes, like, I'll give you an example. She is, she was on the Dean's List. No way, Jose. So asked and answered. Thank you. Yeah. Ashley has a proud look right now. You can tell. Well, you're saying everything really well right now. Thank you very much. You're really... I mean, I have ears. They just don't get it, you know? I mean, hey, listen, some people... Listen, if people say she's an airhead, you go, teen's list. If people say she can't sing, go, American Idol. Thank you. Thank you.
She didn't make it on America. She did, too. She was right there on the show. She made it further than any of us. Yeah, that's right. All she did was audition. Whatever. You don't know. She's on the audition, like the bad audition. Where did you make it? She made it further than Sean. I met Nigel. Yeah, do you meet Nigel? I met Nigel. And he was on Renegade. Yeah, thank you. I think that's a bigger deal. That's right. Much bigger. That's right. I surpassed 30,000 people. 30,000. They put on people who are bad. 30,000 people went to that option. I got the call back. Hello. That's what I'm saying, too. I don't understand. It all makes a lot more sense now. You don't believe me. Why don't you take a listen to yourself? Good phrasing. Utterly horrendous. I do like that. Boston Rob is our... Oh, here he is. Good morning. Very different sweatshirt. He's got on a UMass sweatshirt. Did you go to UMass, Rob? A couple times, Mike. All right. And Rob's got on his Boston Red Sox baseball cap turned backwards, and he's our friend. He's in here. Awesome.
Is about to drop another song. Whoa. Yes. He's about to drop another song. It's going to be good. As you know, he's trying to get over the whole Red Sox. I'm venting. Yeah, he's venting. Sure. No. We'll do that soon. And then there is the artist formerly known as Sir Roosevelt Zethian Oates III, Jr., Esquire, MD, DDS, President, and CEO. As seen on TV. Boozy. Boozy. And as I was introducing him, like any good CEO, he was sort of like sitting there very businesslike. He had a very businesslike look. Well, Seth. You can talk to Seth as our phone screener if you give us a call at 570-1053. Doesn't he sit at a long conference table with a pitcher of water in the middle of it? Yes, he does.
That's awesome. That's really amazing. Zeth wears a business suit to work each day. I mean, it's the same business suit, but he wears it every day. That's right. Professional. Attaché. P1 Russell is on the line. Yeah, you guys were talking about the commercials, and I wanted to throw another one in there. You keep seeing this Circuit City digital camera commercial with the creepy girl on the date with the camera. Yes. I just saw it for the first time this weekend, but the girl on the date with the camera, I don't like it. It is weird. Right up there with Saved by Zero. Yeah. Saved by Zero is the word. Yeah, man. I'm out. I'm out. Great song, though. I got one other random question for you guys. Not like this. Okay. I've been meaning to ask this for a long time. Before when you guys ended the show with that song, did you used to speed it up and slow it down while you were playing? Oh, the reason that it sounds that way is because we would come out of our delay sometimes while we were playing that song, which do we still do that, Rob and Zeth? Uh-uh. We don't do that anymore, right? Well, yeah, yeah. It hasn't happened recently, but it's always happened in the past. I thought I was going crazy. Yeah, the reason is...
We're on an eight-second delay, and the way that it works is that it just very slowly adds time to the radio station. It sounds real weird when you do it. I don't even know what this guy's talking about. I think you're kind of losing it. No one else heard that. Thank you, Russell. Our text number, 35253. This one says, hey, Mikey, I'm out on the E-Trade commercials with the talking baby. That's P1 Semper Fi. I think those are funny. I like those. I actually think those are funny, too. I like those. I think they're clever, interesting. Yeah, I think they're hilarious. When he gets that text from the girl, he's like, hey, girl, what's up? Can I hit you back later? That's awesome. That's funny. I always love that. Hey, Mikey, remember talking about the McCain-Obama cups? Well, the 7-Eleven by my house only has Obama cups. Oh, well, come on. Why are you saying Sky? She's obviously taking all the McCain cups and throwing them away. Well, those would count. It's 7-Eleven. It's a controversy. Throwing them away in the 7-Elevens so you can't hide. So they don't get scanned is what he's claiming. That's BS. I can't believe you would do that. I'm going to every 7-Eleven in the county. You caught me. See? I wouldn't doubt it. Sure. Oracle, we have a question for you already. How am I? P1 Marcus. Yes, sir. What's up, Mikey? I want to ask the same exact question. In fact, I am like a listener now.
And when stuff happens, I'm like, I want to know what the Oracle thinks. In fact, I almost called you yesterday, and I was like, I want to hear it on the air. So go ahead, ask your question, Marcus. I wanted to know what you thought about the wrongness of... Wait a minute, you're leading the question. Leading the witness. You're leading the witness. All right, all right. Eddie, what do you think of Mike Nolan getting fired last night? Eddie. I felt the wrongness about it. Substantial. No, I mean, listen, you can point at every NFL team that doesn't win. Yeah. And you can figure out why. Yeah. It's the ownership. Yeah. I mean, you look at Detroit. Yeah. Terrible owner. Yeah. Arizona. Terrible owner. Yeah. San Francisco. Terrible owner. And all these teams who have, you know, not won in the past decade, it's due to ownership. It comes from the top.
It's brutal right now because their ownership was inherited, and they don't know what they're doing. The thing about Mike Nolan, I really like Mike Nolan as a coach. One thing you can say about Mike Nolan is that his team always comes out prepared. They always play real hard. Even though they don't have the most talent in the world, they play very hard for that guy. He's going to be a head coach again someday, and he's going to be a successful head coach. Disappointing. Kind of excited about naming Mike Singletary as the interim head coach. I mean, Singletary's been talked about getting a head coaching job for a couple years now. And it's pretty cool to see him become a head coach. But this is the third coach during the season that has been fired so far. I can't remember the last time three coaches have been fired in the middle of the season. So, it's crazy. I also think that it'll be a bummer that you won't get to see him wearing a suit on the sideline. I love that. Because, you know, he's the only coach in the NFL right now that actually wears a suit on the sideline. Looks real classy, dude, okay? Yeah, real sweet. If I were a head coach, that's what I would do. Of course you would. Bauman. I would wear a three-piece suit on the sideline. You know what I think it does? I think it... Do you know who dresses real good? Belichick. Yeah.
You know, dude, that's exactly what you would say. That's the wrong way to dress, all right? That's not, dude. You want to be comfortable, dude, on the sideline, all right? Dude, you're spitting on my BMW motorcycle right now. You're on the back of it, and you know that's wrong, dude. You're on the back of it. You know that's wrong. It's a little intimate. Let me hold you a little tighter, Bowman. 5701053. P1 Stafford is on the line. Hey, Mikey. Stafford, what's up? Hey, man, just want to let you guys know about a pro wrestling show that we're having out near Marietta on Saturday. A pro wrestling show that you're having? What do you mean? Well, I'm a professional wrestler. I wrestle everywhere from San Diego. I wrestle as far north as Apple Valley. It's Hulk Hogan. This is Hulk Hogan. Is this Hulk Hogan? This is not Hulk Hogan. Hey, Hulkster, what's up? What's up, brother? What is the league called?
It's a company called the West Coast Wrestling Company. Uh-huh. We just started back in February, and we held our first show last week. Wait a minute. The WCW? The West Coast Wrestling Company? The WCWC? Well, we don't like to go by initials. We just like to be called the West Coast Wrestling Company. Uh-huh. You can check us out, myspace.com slash NWPW Temecula. Uh-huh. as well as on my website. My name is Jameson Stafford as a wrestler. That's my wrestling name, Jameson Stafford. Tell me about your character as a wrestling guy. Are you a face? You know what? I am a face. Thank you for using the proper terminology. What does that even mean? Anything I know, I got it from Eddie. I have no idea. If you're a good guy, it's known as a baby face or face. And if you're a bad guy, you're known as a heel. Oh, my gosh. Who knew? Eddie, I love you, buddy. You know him, brother. Eddie, let me tell you something. Not only does Eddie know about wrestling. First of all, he knows about every sport there is. But wrestling, when it comes to wrestling, like, he loved wrestling as a kid. So he knows, like, all the old stuff, too. I started watching wrestling in, like, 1983. So it's been a long time, man. That was a good time for wrestling. Yeah, it was when Hogan first came on the scene. Oh, yeah. Eddie. Hoganmania began.
Did you, were you a big fan? There was like two brothers that, was it two brothers that you were a big fan of them or am I? The Steiner brothers? Is that what you, the thing? What? Old school, man. What's up? There were so many good brother tag teams though. Yeah. That's true. Me and my brother Steve. Remember that one time when he turned against you and hit you on the head with a crutch? I do remember that. I do remember that. That was awesome. Yeah, that story played out well, though. I got back at him with a remote control. So that story, that storyline. Yeah, no holds barred. So where's the show, man? It's a living room match. It's up near Marietta, a little place called Wildemar. Little crack of California. It's 22482 Walnut Drive in Wildemar. If you want the full address, you can go to my website and get it. It's www.jamesonstafford.com. Right on. Nice. Thank you, brother. You're welcome. Thank you, guys. All right, we'll see you. Eddie, if you were a wrestler, would you be a face or a heel? And what would you be called? Heel face. I've thought about this many times. You have. Haven't we all? Of course he has. I haven't.
Not as many times as Sky has, but... I would ask Rob to be my tag team partner. Done. Done. And we would dress as police officers and we would be known as assault and battery. Yes! Yes! I love it. Sometimes we're faces and sometimes we're heels. You never know. Yeah, that's right. It could be anything. Oh, yes! Awesome! Wow. 570-1053 is our number. Our text number is 35253. Get those money questions ready, because George Chamberlain's coming in here. Oh, Georgie. You want to know how to do your money up? Also, we're doing something new today. Now, this was an idea that came up during the 28-Hour Show. Today, we're going to give a shot to Wuss Rap Jukebox. Hey, what did you say? Wuss Rap Jukebox. Oh, yeah. Love it already. That's what I'm talking about. Also, we got a little P1 trivia today so somebody can come into the studio. YouTube clip of the day is hysterical. We are starting a contest today for the worst tattoo. You want to have a tattoo removed and you got the most terrible tattoo, we're going to start that today. And B-Rob's Palin song, we're going to do that. Plus, he's working on a new song that we may have for you today. Jerry Seinfeld in the stand-up spotlight. Why do men behave in these ways?
Why are we rude, obnoxious, getting drunk, falling down, peeling rubber, making kissing noises out the window? Why are we like this? I know what you ladies are thinking. No, no, not my guy. I'm working with him. He's coming along. No, he's not. He's not coming anywhere. We men know no matter how poorly we behave, it seems we will somehow end up with women anyway. Look around this room. Look at all the men you see with lovely women. Do you think these are special men? Gifted men? One-of-a-kind men? They're the same jerks and idiots that I'm talking about. They're doing just fine. Men as an organization are getting more women than any other group working anywhere in the world today. Wherever women are, we have men looking into the situation right now. We explored the earth looking for women. Even went to the moon just to see if there was any women there. That's why we brought that little car. Why would you bring a car unless there's some chance of going on a date?
Hey, let me tell you about Amco. Amco is the real deal. If you have a check engine light on on your car, then all you have to do is take it to Amco. They will diagnose it for free, and if any additional diagnosis is required, you just mention that you're a P1, and you will get 10% off on all repairs. Amco does transmission, oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, cooling systems, and they don't want to fix what isn't broken. The dealerships, a lot of times, what they want to do is they want to replace it, and Amco just wants to fix it, and they got experienced techs that have been working on cars for years. In terms of your transmission, that is the part of the car.
That does what your legs do. They honor almost all extended warranties. And if you have one of these issues, you take it to most dealerships. Rock 105.3 Traffic. by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We've got some tough spots already here this morning. Still working on this one accident involving a big rig blocking the two right lanes of northbound 5 just past La Costa Avenue. Hazmat crews are on the scene here as well with a fuel spill probably or possibly going into the lagoon here. So be careful. You're back to Encinitas in single digits as you get closer to this accident. Stay far to the left. You might get around this a little bit faster here. We've got South Punta the 15 now backing up out of Escondido up to 78 down to Via Rancho Parkway. Then a minor to lay through Poway. The crew's still on the scene of this one accident where a car went on its top on the South 805 ramp to South 15. Be careful there as well. And we've got a new accident, Northbound 5, past the 94, blocking the slow lane. So watch for a bit of a backup there as you come in towards downtown. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Imagine this. You walk into your apartment and, oh, boy, you've been robbed. Yep, somebody definitely broke in there and made off of the goods, didn't they? Your flat-screen TV, your laptop, and even your race car-shaped bed's gone. Just a devastating loss.

That's a great idea, Tattoo. Yeah. They put me in a little spaceman costume. We don't have one that small. What the heck did he just say? We're just going to cover you in aluminum foil. You want to look like the MTV Spaceman.
You're about the same size. And then you're blasphemous. Hey, boss. Yes. Can I sit on your lap? No, I have spinal bifida. Okay. Oh, my gosh. Anyway. Back to the Mikey Show on The Rock. Rock 105.3. Welcome back. A little bad coat. A little bad coat. Not everything is guitar. What? Yes, it is. Okay, bro. Yeah, Rob's not taking it. Welcome back. It is 642. Nick Hogan was released from jail after midnight last night after serving 166 days for felony reckless driving. Tiger Woods was back at Torrey Pines yesterday. He was a caddy for a dude who won a sweepstakes. Really? Really? It was really awesome. Dude, how crazy is that? He's got the little caddy smock.
That is awesome. Wow. That's so cool, man. That is a trip. I couldn't do it. I couldn't play with him behind me. How do you do that? I would be so nervous and like, ugh. I would play like crap. Oh, there's the story. The Tea Off with Tiger contest sponsored by Buick. This video was provided to us by Buick. Woods is still rehabbing his surgically repaired knee, but he feels pretty good. He said being a caddy was fun. Imagine if people knew he was there yesterday, the mob scenes. I think that's why we got him. Dude, I mean, he's giving you pointers. You're trying to pay attention, trying to execute what he's telling you. He's so scared. Let's see. Oracle just saw Jose Canseco on his own show on A&E. What's going on with that guy and his book? That's P1A's fan. I have no idea. I think I heard a blurb on it. Something about he's saying that he really is...
Sorry about the pain that was caused by what he revealed in his book. We have clips of him talking. I don't really know what they're from, though. It might be that show last night on A&E. The one he's talking about. Last Shot? Yeah, yeah. It was right after intervention, and it was just like what he's doing now and all about the book and all how he pretty much kept calling himself the godfather of steroids, bringing him in. Yeah, we got a clip of that. Cut 24. Crazy. Basically, I'm changing the face of baseball because of what I did and the way I looked. When I first started using steroids, it wasn't against Major League Rolls regulations. That's why when other players came up to me and asked me, I'd be more than willing to help them, to educate them, because I wanted them to do well and prosper, too. In all, Conseco played for seven teams in his 16-year career and claims to have educated disciples at each stop. I remember injecting Mark McGuire, Rafael Palmeiro, Juan Gonzalez, Ivan Rodriguez, all those individuals. I was telling the whole baseball world that asked me, I was, hey, how do you do this? Well, I'll tell you. I used this substance, that substance, and then I did this workout program and ate these foods. That's why I was known as the godfather of steroids, because not only did I bring it in, I educated the players, it overwhelmed Major League Baseball. Okay. Now that is really a trip, because...
From what I heard, he was saying he was really sorry about how it hurt the people that he wrote about. But he's like reinforcing all of it in that clip that we just heard. Right. I shot this guy up. I shot that guy up. But then we do have a clip of him talking about how the whole book was a big mistake at 26. I think taking accountability, I think getting off steroids a lot of times opens up your eyes to other things and other doors and other channels. You know, admitting, making mistakes, some things that you do wrong, apologizing. I made a lot of mistakes in baseball. Obviously, using steroids, bringing steroids into the game. But I think the biggest mistake I made was I should have not written that book. And the more I think about it, you know, the more I regret mentioning these players in my book. You just mentioned them again. Because, you know, I admired them. I respected them. But at the point in time, I was so mad at Major League Baseball, so disappointed at them. And I felt like I was alone.
And I felt like I needed to put them in my book as evidence to show the world that I was telling the truth. They realized this was going to blow up as big as it was going to blow up and hurt so many people. They were my friends, teammates, and you kind of have a bond. And if I could meet with Mark McGuire and these players, I definitely would apologize to them because I think it was, you know, the more I think about it, the more wrong I was. Now, does anybody hear the clip? I mean, because if you just heard that clip on its own, you might go, wow, I mean, the guy really realized he made a mistake. He shouldn't have done it. You know, he feels really bad. But from the same TV show, we played the clip before with him talking about being the godfather of steroids. And he's sort of reviewing it all all over again and shooting up Mark McGuire and shooting up.
This guy and shooting at me. He's bringing their names back into it and bringing them back. He's basically saying everything the book said all over again. If you were sorry about not hurting everybody with what you said in the book, you can't take the book back. The book's already out there. But maybe what you could do is not sort of rehash it. Yeah, my guess is that he thinks that it's already out there. It's not like I'm revealing anything else. Yeah, but he's rehashing. Yeah, for sure. I understand what you're saying. You can't take the book back. The book's already out there. People know. It's all out there. And it wasn't really his book that put McGuire and Palmeiro and those guys in the spotlight. Palmeiro actually failed a drug test for steroids after appearing before Congress saying, I did not take steroids. That's true. I don't know. It's all just kind of a weird situation. And it's an era of baseball where I just think that you just have to call it. It's the steroid era. And it is what it is. So what are we going to do from 1988 to 2005?
not have any of those players go into the Hall of Fame, not count any of their records. I mean, Mark McGuire didn't get into the Hall of Fame. Are we not putting Barry Bonds in the Hall of Fame? Are we not putting Palmeira in the Hall of Fame? Like, what are we going to do in that era? Sammy Sosa, like all these guys, are we just going to forget about them and say, oh, okay, well, this, you know, for 15 years. Baseball doesn't count. No, it does. It was the steroid era, and it is what it is. I mean, back in the day, baseball players were putting Vaseline on baseballs and stuffing up the baseballs, and they were cheating in their own ways, too. It's true. You don't hear about them saying, oh, well, we're not going to put Bob Gibson in the Hall of Fame, and we're not putting Gaylord Perry in the Hall of Fame. They were doing all that stuff, too. Not only that, it's not unique just to Major League Baseball. The NFL changed rules, too. They did stuff in the NFL where they, you know. They didn't know. Nobody knew, you know, that steroids were as bad as they are. People didn't know, and they were taking them, and they were, you know, is it cheating? You know, it's up to what you think. I mean, if half the people were on it, then how can you call it cheating? People were on it. Everybody was doing it. Listen to this one. Cut 25. They knew that I was godfather of steroids.
What they did was get rid of me to send an indirect message to the rest of the players, meaning if you continue using steroids, we're going to get rid of you just so we got rid of Jose Canseco. Eventually, I tried to play for minimum salary. It was a no-go. I said, I'll play for free. They said, no way. We can't use you. We can't touch you. All organizations said this. And I was very angry at Major League Baseball. Very angry for what they did. And I wanted, I'll be honest, I wanted revenge. Now, I'm trying to understand this one. He's saying, I was the godfather of steroids. He didn't flat out say it, but I can kind of make the jump that he felt like, yeah, this was not a good thing. These steroids and how I introduced. I thought I heard him saying, yeah, not only did I do them, I brought them in. I brought them in. It wasn't good.
I mean, after putting the flag in the ground that says I'm the dude that started it all, they get rid of the dude that started it all because he started it all. I mean, maybe they knew he started it all. Maybe they didn't. But he's at least saying I started it all. And then when they get rid of him for doing something that you're not supposed to do, he's upset that they did that. How do you? How does that work? Jose is a little warped. I mean, Jose was way past his prime when all the steroid stuff came out. And at the end of his playing career, I mean, he would have naturally gone away anyway because he was at the end of his career. And not only that, but Jose, you were no longer on steroids anymore. So you were not as good as you once were. Right. So there was a lot of factors in going into Jose not playing in baseball anymore on top of him being the godfather of steroids. Right. So a lot of factors went in. I don't think baseball was just like, oh, get out of here, Jose. We don't want you anymore. They were like any player who's past his prime, they're done with you. Right. I mean, that's sports. Yeah. So I don't know, man. That's interesting. Yeah. So, Rob, what is it? What's the show?
No, it was just... Just a special. Yeah, just a special. It was right after intervention, but it was good. I T-voted it. I'm going to finish watching it tonight. Sounds good. Yeah, it does. And now he's just, like, playing softball, like slow-pitch softball. Come on. Really? Is that the truth? He was saying he was trying to quit, and his girlfriend said, you know, I gave him the choice. It's me or the steroids. And he's playing, like, slow-pitch softball. I missed the part, but going into commercial, they said, you know, they foreclosed on his house, and it showed him, like, tearing down the gate to get into his home because they just locked it up on him, changed the locks. It was intense, man. Whoa. Is he like out of money or something? That's what it was kind of alluding to. Yeah. Wow. 570-1053. Our text number 35253. You got money questions? Police were called out yesterday to check out a strange smell coming from a van in Rancho Penasquitos and found a dead body inside. The Patriots running back Lawrence Maroney is done for the season as the team places him on injured reserve. Really? Yep. We're getting some text messages here, guys. 35253 is our text number. This text says...
Hands down, worst commercial is where the guy is made of chocolate and he's walking around town and people are eating parts of his body. That is so weird. That's P1 King Joey. It's a Guinness commercial, I think. This one says, does Sky only eat free range ham? If not, she should vote no on Prop 2. Oh, what's up, Sky? Sky, is that ham free range? I don't know either. I'm not sure. We'll have to check into whether or not our ham... A Lama Ding Dong is pretty range. You eat forklift ham. Sweet. Forklift ham. Scott, you eat forklift ham. No, I do not. No question. I would not. Is it true that you actually, when you go in, you have a code name for your sandwich and you say, I'll take the forklift, please? Of course not. You do not. That is not tasty. That is not. Are you sure? No. I'll take a forklift, a bag of chips, a Diet Coke, and a... Cherry's Jubilee. Cherry's Jubilee. Thank you. Ham?
Let's see. Mikey, what about the Verizon Wireless Dead Zone commercials? I'm sick of those. That's P1 Kiwi. Mikey, I hate the Jack in the Box commercial, too, with the adult babies. It makes me uncomfortable as an adult and as a human being. Absolutely. Love you guys. That's P1 Victoria. Let's see. Better trademark, assault and battery, because the WWE will have that on by next week. Dang it. Pat and Penning. Yeah. It's P1 Wii. Let's see. P1 Deranged is on the line. Are you there? I am. Good morning. What's going on? Nothing. I just kind of want to take a trip down memory lane with Eddie and talk about Dusty Rhodes. Talk about it, Eddie. Oh, the American dream. What? How long ago was that? Dusty Rhodes was big in the 80s in the NWA. He was the world champion a couple times and then moved to the WWF at the time, and they kind of made him into a goofy character.
And then he was in and out of wrestling from that point on. And then a couple years ago, the WWE inducted him into their Hall of Fame. How about that? Thank you. My heart is warm now. That's very nice. My son wants to ask Sean a question. You want to what? My son wants to ask Sean a question. Go ahead. Okay, here you go, son. Hello, Sean. Go ahead. Oh! Sean does not like children. Go ahead, young man. What is it that you'd like to ask Sean? When I ask Sean, if I can ask him if he can say that's crazy. Of course. That's crazy! Who is that? Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Wow. That was something else. Really nice of you, Sean. That really was, Sean. Good job. You hated every second. You were so sweet. You did great. You were so sweet. He's unbelievable, isn't he?
He is so sweet. You little cuddle bug, you. Right? Shut up. Hey, there's a high school teacher from Mira Mesa that's going to be on Jeopardy tonight. Really? Yeah. Marauders. How's that? Yeah, that's so cool. Are they really the Marauders? Yeah. They are? Yeah. Wow, that was pretty awesome. You want to hear a clip of this guy? Yeah. Let's see. Cut 39. Well, I've always wanted to be on Jeopardy, and the first time I tried out was in 1987, I think. Didn't make it then, stopped for a while, and finally made the show, and it was a dream come true. I mean, it was fun. The people there are fantastic. The other contestants are just amazingly intelligent, and you feel really humbled when you walk in there because they really know their stuff. Oh, please. They're the smartest people in the world. Dude, the chick that's been winning. Oh, she's crazy. Well, she like racks up the cash and then always on Final Jeopardy, she gets it wrong. Four times in a row. But she still wins? Yeah. She still wins because she gets every single answer right. Oh, wow. It's crazy. So I guess he'll be going against her tonight and somebody else on Jeopardy. His name is Mike Mayhew. He's a history teacher at Muir Mesa High School. He's the history teacher. That's right. Tonight at 730.
Jeopardy. Check it out. Don't hate me, guys, but how does Final Jeopardy work? What? I know. Are you kidding? Wow. I know. All of my friends in this room look so irritated at me. Did you get a category? Yes. So say it's Potent Potables. Oh. Nice. Or whatever. Potent what? I don't know. I don't know. Isn't that one of the things? Yes, it is. Thank you. And you have to wager with whatever money you have an amount. Yeah. And so say you have $10,000 and somebody behind you has like $5,000. Well, you want to risk a certain amount of money so that you can beat them if you get the question right. You know, it's all strategy. You wager the thing. Before you see the question, you have to wager the money. Based on the category alone, you wager money. Now, Ashley. She just took her headphones off and I wanted to ask because I know her and Rob both watched this lady. So she obviously doesn't wager all her money on that. No, she must not. She must not, right? And if you're so far in the lead, lots of times people won't just to play it safe. You don't have to wager anything. We can wager zero.
Go ahead, Ash. And last night, this chick who's lost Final Jeopardy four times now in a row, but still taking it. Yeah. Like, the category was U.S. geography, and she got it wrong, but she had $22,000, and her two opponents had, like, between $3,000 and $5,000. Whoa! So she only wagered, like, two Gs, and she came out with $20,000 and still won. Oh, my. So. That's pretty amazing. Yeah, they know so much stuff, man. How do they know that stuff? I mean, it's more than just going to school, isn't it? Like, do they have to study for Jeopardy? No. Well, this guy, the Miramesa teacher, was saying that he, for a long time, tapes the episodes and watches them back and goes over the trivia question. So they use them again, you think? Or do they use... That's an odd way to do it. I know, that's what I thought, too. Because I don't think they're going to re-ask questions. Yeah, but just maybe to be fresh on playing and pretend buzzing in. I don't know. George Chamberlain is in the studio with us right now. Hey, you ever watch Celebrity Jeopardy? Oh, man, that is like the most frightening thing in the world. You know who the dumbest person on the face of the earth is? Who? Jeff Probst.
Get out of here. No, the guy is dumber than a tree. Really? Really. He really is. Unbelievable. Do they have to change the questions to be easier when celebrities are on there? It's like the Saturday Night Live thing. Yeah. It really is. A number. Give me a number. That's funny. That is funny. All right, so George Chamberlain. By the way, if you want to ask George a question. Oh, by the way, Quimby is on the line. She knows this teacher that's going to be on Jeopardy. Hall of Famer. P1 Quimby is on the line. Hey, what up? What's up? Yo, yo, yo. So, check it out. I got your back like a car seat or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's on Jeopardy. Am I allowed to say his name? Yeah. It's Mr. Mayhew. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sky just was saying his name. It's Mike Mayhew. Yeah, he used to be a substitute at Miramesa High School when I was like a senior in 96 and then became a permanent teacher. His shtick, though, in class was that he had a wooden tie. Oh, really? Yes. Really? I wonder if he will wear his wooden tie tonight on Jeopardy. Yeah. I would die if he did that, but I think he also helps.
coached the football team there as well. Yes. Yeah, but I heard that voice instantly. I was like, oh, my God. It's that weirdo with the wooden. That's funny. Thank you, P1 Quimby. I wear wooden undergarments. Is there something strange about the concept of wood? That's right. All right, so, Sky, you were telling us that there is a A new economic stimulus package maybe that George can explain to us. Well, there's talk this morning. Talk of it. A talk that the White House and, you know, people in Washington think, oh, it would be good to do another economic stimulus package. Sure, why not? Again, giving American taxpayers checks back, little rebate checks, and that this will help our economy. What do you think? Talk about it. Well. There's no doubt that the first round of economic stimulus stuff had an impact. I mean, it put a lot of money into people's hands, billions and billions and billions of dollars of money into people's hands. And they pretty much went out and spent it. And it provided, I think, a little cushion, got us through a tough spot. This one is obviously, the timing of it is suspect, rather political probably. Every congressman can go back to their district now and say, yeah, we're going to help you folks out. We're going to help you get through this thing.
And will this one be aimed towards the same exact people that got it the first time? It sounds like it, but it also will be another opportunity for the politicians to tack on a lot of stuff for their own pet projects. But Bernanke, who has been opposed to this thing. Who's that, Bernanke? Bernanke's the head guy of the Federal Reserve, the big money bank, the bank of banks, if you would. He was on... in washington testifying yesterday and he he's the one who brought it up he said yeah i'm pretty much in favor i could see how we we need and which is not which is not for me a very good thing if he's saying yeah let's uh let's throw some more money at this stuff That's not really the best. But don't get too excited about it. It's still months and months away from happening. It won't happen probably until maybe the first of the year. So it's not going to be like a Christmas gift. I don't think. It could happen. It could happen. I mean, they did the first one pretty quick. But Congress basically goes away now for the rest of the year. They'll come back if they need to, and they might need to come back to do this. So we'll see. Eddie, is it possible?
to take a break and come back and take some calls with George Chamberlain. Let's do that. Let's take a quick time out. We'll come back and we will ask George some questions. So if you have questions for George Chamberlain about money, he can break it down real easy in an easy way to understand. 570-1053 is our number. Also, when we come back, there's been a million cribs recalled. After a couple of infant deaths, I'll tell you about that when we come back. Thank you for being big enough to laugh at yourself this morning. Well, you know, when is the best time to send flowers to your wife, your gal, whoever? It's when it really doesn't matter, when it's not an occasion. Talk about it. Yeah, Sky, you know. When we're not expecting it. The ones about teaching marriage in schools? They're absolutely not true, says California's superintendent of public schools. Prop 8 has nothing to do with schools or kids. Our schools aren't required to teach anything about marriage, says our school superintendent. And using kids to lie about that is shameful. What Prop 8 is really about is eliminating fundamental rights. The League of Women Voters calls it a major threat to our basic constitutional rights. That's why California teachers say no on 8.
Our laws should treat everyone equally. All eight major California newspapers agree. Regardless of how you feel about marriage, it's wrong to eliminate fundamental rights. No on 8. It's unfair, unnecessary, and wrong. Paid for by No on 8. Equality for all. Major funding from No on 8. Equality California and Human Rights Campaign. HRC California Marriage Pack. No on Prop 8. Hey, I just want to let you know that BMW Encinitas is the only BMW dealership in San Diego County that you should be going to. It's the only place I would trust to take my car, but there's other reasons too. One of the cool things about BMW Encinitas is that they're the only dealership in San Diego County that can tell you that if you take your car in for service, they're going to give you a BMW loaner.
Now, none of the other dealerships in San Diego County can say that. In fact, if you go in there and you drop your Beamer off, what they're going to do is they're probably going to give you a loaner car that's like another brand, another model. And you're not going to know that car like you know your BMW. BMWs drive very particularly the handling, the response, everything about them is very different. And you're going to love it. You can get into a BMW 1 Series. They start at $28,000. See, a lot of people, they think BMW, they think, oh, I don't have $60,000, $70,000, $80,000 to spend on a car. That's not necessarily true, and a lot of people just don't know it. They don't know about the 1 Series. So check it out. BMWEncinitas.com or give them a call, 888-215-7288. BMW Encinitas on Encinitas Boulevard between the 5 and El Camino Real.
We are starting to get the fantasy football questions, and you knew it was going to happen, so let's take a couple of those. P1 Stagehand is on the line. Go ahead. What's up, Oracle? What up? Important question. I need to know whether to start Peyton Manning over playing against Green Bay or Matt Shaw playing Detroit. Those are both two good starts. I always recommend starting your guy. Your guy, you drafted Peyton Manning for a reason. Peyton Manning is your guy, and I'll always side with the top draft pick and definitely start Peyton Manning this week. For the record, I'm writing things down like George Chamberlain were in the studio furiously right now because I like this. You don't need my help. You're doing just fine. Back to the Mikey Show on The Rock.
Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It is 7.20. Gwyneth Paltrow says she's helping her friend Madonna cope with her divorce. The 49ers decide to fire head coach Mike Nolan. They name Mike Singletary as the interim head coach. Mike Singletary had gigantic eyes when he was on the field in the middle of a play. Yeah. You just heard me in that clip say that I was writing things down like George Chamberlain was in the studio. And it's true. When George is in the studio, I usually take notes. Yep. Because the information that he's given you is real solid and real good. And you can see George every single morning on television. He's on NBC 739 every morning. And he comes in here on Tuesdays and he helps us out. He talks to us about money. So if you have money questions, give us a call. Yeah, we all got money questions, man. Hey, George, something happened yesterday with the market. Yeah, I don't want to get into too much detail. Like for the last month, take any given day, and let's just use the Dow Jones Industrial Average as an example. It will go up a whole bunch, and then it'll do an immediate U-turn and go down a whole bunch. I mean, we have enormous swings up and down in the market each and every given day. So there are moments in time when the Dow may be up 300 or 400 or 500 points, and then the same day it'll be down 600 or 700 points. Just great volatility. Yesterday was interesting in that it was the first day I can remember for about a month where the market opened higher,
Never went lower throughout the entire trading session. Stayed strong throughout the entire day. And that, to me, was a very encouraging sign. Because we're coming off a pretty decent week last week. And that was encouraging in and of itself. And then to get a good stable day like we had yesterday. This morning we're opening a little bit lower, but not a lot. And we're slowly working our way back. So things are looking a lot better. And there hasn't been a panic yet this week. Almost every day the last month, we've had a panic of the day. And so what do we do? We throw billions of dollars at it, and that gets us through the day until the next one. Everything seems to be a wee bit calmer these days. So I hope it stays that way. Bad time to get into the market? Good time to get into the market? Well, it's a lot better than it was a year ago. I mean, when it was at 14,000, the Dow's at 9,000. So if you were looking for an entry point, this seems to look pretty good. Yeah. As long as you've got a good time horizon. You know, Buffett came out. I don't want to overdo this. Warren Buffett, greatest investor of all time. Super rich. Well, he is now officially, he's past Gates. He's the wealthiest man in the world. Shut up. Yeah. Is he an American or is he from Australia? No, he's from Omaha, Nebraska. Really? Murdoch's the dude you're thinking of. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So Buffett puts out this editorial in the New York Times on Friday, says, buy stocks. Buy stocks now. Now, for Buffett to do that is so out of the realm of logic that it is amazing. He never makes.
Forecaster predictions about the stock market. And he has this company called Berkshire Hathaway, which is this giant company. That's where all of his wealth was made. But he has his own. All of that money is going to go to charity when he dies. He's got his own personal investments, which he's had 100% in the safest possible treasury securities you can have. He said, I'm done with that. I'm putting all of my money in stocks right now. This guy is 76 years old, and he's making long-term buys into the stock market. So if you can't, if you've got Sundays. UT sitting around, and I don't know why you would, but if you did, they reprinted the editorial in the Sunday business section of the UT. Everybody should read that if you have any qualms about why you should be owning stocks. And George says, if you want to buy stocks, just look at the things that you like the most. Yeah. Now, my wife suggested, she goes, what about like diapers? She goes, that seems like a thing that people are going to use. Absolutely. You know, absolutely. Forever. Procter & Gamble. People are always making babies. Yeah, yeah, yeah. People are always making babies. There is a baby boom going on in this country right now. Yeah. So, yeah, absolutely right. Absolutely right. 570-1053 is our phone number. So give us a call if you have a question for George Chamberlain. Let's see. P1 Heidi, are you there? Yes, I am. Go ahead. You have a question for George.
Yeah, George, thank you so much for letting me call in. My husband and I are wanting to add on to our home right now. We tried to sell and it didn't sell, so we're trying to add on to it. But my worry is how we're talking about construction loans. But now, again, with the market, I'm wondering and worried about how we might be able to do this. Let me ask you a question. Do you have good credit? We have great credit. Really good credit? Like $740, $740. All right, all right. Listen, I hate to do this. I want you to go to a website called firstagain.com. Firstagain.com. They make unsecured loans to people with great credit. Okay? And rates are like 5.9%. And you can borrow up to $100,000. And, again, it's an unsecured loan. It's based totally on your credit. So you could put the app in this morning and get approval this afternoon and have the money tonight. Oh, my gosh. Dang. For an addition, not for... They don't care what you use the money for. I mean, they will ask you what you're using the money for. It's simply based upon your credit history and your ability to repay. Oh, my goodness. How about that, Heidi? I'm getting excited again. Oh, yeah!
Isn't that great? I'm telling you, he knows stuff we don't know. I know the wizard. He knows stuff we don't know. Thank you very much. Ashley, he's not a wizard. He's not actually a wizard. He's a human man. He is a money wizard. I heard it. Make a case for it. She was in the hallway telling people that there was a wizard running through this building, and if you wanted to meet him, you could take a picture with him. You just have to ask nicely. Let's see. P1 Ponce is on the line. Are you there, Ponce? How's it going, guys? Good, man. Tell everybody what a P1 is. A P1 is someone who turns the radio down, gets to the point, doesn't say their name, and doesn't cuss. There you go, dude. That is great. That's a P1, man. That's a P1. Ponce, go ahead, man. Hey, first of all, I love the fact that you guys are doing this segment now every week. I do, too. Trust me. But I have a question. My question is, I have money in my 401k. Is it smart to... pay myself back 5% to take a loan out against it and pay off credit cards and not pay them 10%. Yeah, boy. That's a tough one. And by the way, if I hear one more person say that their 401k is now a 101k, I'm going to throw up. I'm so tired of that. So tired of it. You know, remember what a 401k is, okay? It is a retirement account. And I hate to see people...
violate that account to use it for other purposes. Because, you know, where you work, they don't have a defined benefit plan that when you retire, they're going to send you all this money. Retirement really falls on everybody's own personal shoulders now with your own savings. And if you start, you invade at one time to pay off some credit cards, then you're going to do it next time you want to go on vacation and then you want to buy a car and stuff like that. With that said, though, the just obscene amount of interest that these jerks are charging us on credit cards right now is out of control. And if you really look upon this as a one-time deal where you're going to go in and get some money out of there, you're going to pay off the credit card balance, and you're going to close the damn account, and you're not going to run it up again, I'll say, yeah, go ahead and do it. But don't make it a habit. Don't make it a habit. Don't do it again, young man. Thanks, guys. There you go. Speaking of these credit cards with the gnarly interest rates on them, P1 Splishy Splash is on the line. Hello, Splishy Splash. Hey, what's going on, Mikey? Not too much, dude. You got a question about that. Yeah, yeah. Hey, what's up, Georgie? Hey, I got a question for you, man. I had an interest rate of 1.9 on my credit card, and all of a sudden they called me a high risk, so they bumped it to 1.3. Yeah. 13.9. I apologize.
Now that payment is unfeasible for me. Wait, wait, wait. How much is the percentage? It's 13.9 now. It was 1.9. It went from 1.9 to 13.9? Oh, yeah. How can they do that? They can just do that? I'm really surprised they only went to 13.9. How are they allowed to do that? They can do anything they want. They can? Oh, yeah, sure. The 1.9, by the way, the 1.9 was probably a teaser, and you ought to go back and look at when you opened up the account that it probably says right in there that after three months or six months or whatever, they're going to... 1.9 expires next year. Okay, well... You broke it early and just bent me over. You know, if you are like one day late making a payment, you have become high risk in their eyes. And they will slap you with that high rate so fast it'll make your head spin. They're doing it to everybody out there, man. So they're not picking on you. They are doing it to everybody. And it might not even be with your credit card that you were late. Let's say you were one day late making a payment somewhere else. Wow. Because that then, bing, it sets off an alarm right on the credit report.
And there you go. What you better do is check your credit report, man, and go back to them. If you haven't done anything wrong, if your credit report doesn't show that you did something wrong... What I did was I inquired about a settlement on it. Settle my debt. That was the thing to do. And I inquired about it, and then next thing I know, they bumped my rate up. You inquired with who? With the credit card company. No, that shouldn't have done it. That shouldn't have done it. If anything, that would have prompted them to keep it a little bit lower. He's like, oh, yeah, I had a bankruptcy, too. I forgot about that. I forgot about it. I forgot about it. And the foreclosure. And a Cherry's Jubilee. But that's all. But that was it. And a Diet Coke. And that was all. Hey, I don't know if we mentioned this or not before, but do not, when I say check your credit report, and I hope I'm not offending a sponsor, do not go to freecreditreport.com. Freecreditreport.com. I know. Isn't that annoying? Freecreditreport.com is not free. No, it's not. It's in the name. It's in the name, I thought. I know. What they're going to do is sell you a credit report protection service, and they'll give it to you free for three months, and then they're going to start charging you $20 a month or something like that for it down the road. What you want to do is go to annualcreditreport.com. Annualcreditreport.com. See? There you go. That works almost as well. Almost as well.
You need somebody working in a fish house. That's right. But go to annualcreditreport.com and get all three of your reports each year absolutely free. And by the way, splishy splash, Ashley is the person that holds the market on calling him Georgie. No one else is allowed to call him Georgie. I've been called worse. I wasn't actually that mad at it. All right. Can I mention something real quick? Sure. Because it kind of ties in with everything we're talking about. I got an email from one of your listeners who asked me about something we talked about last time. By the way, you have some very interesting listeners, as you already know. This is a guy that's involved with... I hope that's a good thing. This is a guy that's... No, listen to this. He sent me an email from work, and I won't mention the company because I don't want to give interest. But he's involved with molecular bioproducts. Oh, wow. What is that? I have no idea what that is. I don't know. I don't know. But he said, would you please repeat the information you made about people who are trying to avoid bankruptcy and want to get their credit... consolidated and taken care of. I've got a bunch of calls and emails on this. So here's what I want you to do. There's a couple of non-profit credit counseling services that are very good. One of them is called Springboard, and you can go to their website, which is credit.org, credit.org, and work with them. Another one is Consumer Credit Counseling Services. I didn't get a chance to look for a website, but just put that in your browser.
consumer credit counseling services, and you'll get the information you need. This is done. I know people that have used this recently, some people very close to me that have used this, that were really just not sleeping. They were on edge. They were just panicked. I said, call these people. They did it right over the phone. They take all of your credit card debt. They consolidate it down. This person was looking at a situation where they were probably going to take them 20 years, assuming they never used their credit cards again, 20, 25 years to pay the thing off. They're going to have them paid off in four years. Really? It's incredible what these people do. And, again, there's a method to their madness. They are nonprofit. It doesn't cost you anything to do this, maybe $10, $15 to set up the process. They're paid by the credit card companies. They consolidate the debt. They work with the credit card companies. It's amazing. Just amazing. Now, in the spirit of that, we're talking about this company, one of them, Springboard, where they consolidate. P1 Tom. has a question about Springboard. Go ahead, Tom. Go ahead. Yeah, I logged on. I got an appointment scheduled with them actually this next week. Great. To do this. Actually, there is a fee. It's $50. Okay. All right. $35. Probably worth it. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's well worth it from what they're telling me. But my question is, I got about a 700 credit score now, and I just bought a house, so I'm not really too worried about my credit because I'm hopefully secured now.
What will it do to my credit and how long will it take me to rebuild it? It won't do anything to your credit. I get asked that question a lot, too, because they will go on and check your credit report. They'll do this through their service. And there are ways they do it that it does not show up as if you went to a car dealer or you went to a store and opened up a credit card account where they pull your credit report. That is a negative on there. When they check your credit report, it does not have a negative impact on your credit score. What about, they said, I guess what they're going to do is they're going to call each of the credit card companies and negotiate a lower interest rate with them. Yeah, yeah. And that won't affect my credit score either? No, no. Is this a good idea? It's viewed as a positive. It's actually viewed as a very strong positive on your part. George, is it a good idea for the average Joe? Or is this just for people that are really in sort of, because this guy's talking about a 700 credit score. That's good. That's very good. And so. But money's money. I mean, if this person I was talking about, her cash flow out on credit cards was like $1,200 a month. It's now going to be about $750. Money, money, money. Wow. That's pretty incredible. Yeah. That's awesome. Well, once again. I love it.
George Chamberlain. It's a wizard, I heard. Changing our lives. George, he's a wizard. That's right. It's a pleasure, as always. My pleasure, guys. Always glad to do it. You're awesome, George. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. It's turned into a very tough community this morning. We'll start you off on the South Bay. Both the 5805 northbound struggling out of Chudula Vista. Especially this 805. That is a slow and go from before H Street. All the way up in toward the 15 freeway past the 94. And then again out of Kearney Mesa over the 52. Norpon 5 struggles out of Chula Vista up to National City. Then again in the downtown from an accident just past the 94. And that's keeping the 94 itself trying to get to the 5 downtown very, very tough.
You are slow and go from Massachusetts Avenue out of Lemon Grove all the way to that 5 freeway. So give yourself some extra time there. South 15 stays slow and go off the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. Some more traffic to deal with out of Poway now. And south on 75th is just bumper to bumper from the 78th all the way down past one accident near Point City Lane. Just past that. Slows again out of Encinitas and the Solana Beach. And the north bus of the five, suffering as well from a big rig accident blocking the two right lanes past La Costa, has got you in single digits out of Encinitas on up to that accident. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rockwood053. I just want to tell you about Sleep Train. Sleep Train is fantastic. Let me tell you, the great thing about them is that right now they have these mattress price wars going on. Sale is on right now. This is going to be going on with the biggest names that you know, like Beautyrest, SelectComfort, Posterpedic. And I'm talking about the firm, the plush, the pillow top styles, the whole deal.
So get down there right now. If you go in there before 2 o'clock today, they will deliver today. Same day. So check it out. Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. It's the Mikey Show featuring Mikey. I have this thing. I see Jennifer Lopez. I think, oh, don't go in the bathroom when she's coming out. I don't know what it is. You know, the whole thing that I have. Eddie. But I am very uncomfortable being a bridesmaid. Sky. Yeah, I do not like to answer the phone, and I do not like to talk on the phone. Sean. I honestly, legitimately believe that William Shatner is a really good actor. Boston Rock. I don't lose all the time, and I don't lose at everything. Whatever you ever want. And Ashley. Combined with my ADD and the fact that I'm just like a social butterfly, I'm all over the place. The Mikey Show's on. You took a second, you thought about it, and it's Sheboygan. Uh-huh. Rock 105.3. The gnarliest songs ever. It's a little Buddy. Buddy. What's his name? Buddy Miller. Welcome back. It's 742. Jeff Probst is developing a new reality show that features people with terminal illnesses. Okay.
Is that like a pull on your heartstrings type of thing? Yeah. It's the real survivor. That's right. Adam Pacman Jones has officially entered an alcohol treatment facility. Really? Yeah. Welcome back. Before we went to break, I told you there had been a crib recall. And how many, Sky? And why? Just about 1.6 million cribs being recalled. Oh, my. That's a lot. Yeah, after two infants died because of these cribs. Now, the cribs are made by Delta Enterprises, and there's two different versions of cribs that are being recalled. They're all older versions from 1995 to 2005, so it's not like any of these cribs are currently on the shelves. So you don't have to worry about that if you're going to shop for a crib. It's if you bought them when? Between 1995 and 2005.
About a million of them are described as drop side cribs that have little safety pegs that they say can get lost when you break it down and reassemble it and break it down and reassemble it. And if you lose some of those pegs, I guess it can, like, leave a little gap and the kid can get their, like, head caught in there and suffocate. Oh, man, dude. And another 600,000 cribs are described as spring peg. And those springs can become worn out after using it over and over and over again. And again, you know, the suffocation. So all the information about all the cribs being recalled can be found online. The website is cribrecallcenter.com. That's cribrecallcenter.com. It's 1.6 million Delta Enterprises cribs. Oh, my. Yeah. Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey. What's up? Chris, I'm calling about the Jeopardy and Mike Mayhew being on it tonight. Yeah, he's a teacher from Mira Mesa High School. Yeah, I went to Mira Mesa. He was my teacher. Right on. So I just want to say thank you for talking about Jeopardy today. Hey, is it true the dude wears a wooden tie? I've seen him wear a wooden tie, but he was an awesome teacher. He had a gavel. If he fell asleep in his class, he'd come up and hit you.
Oh, that's the best. Oh, my God. That's the best. That'll wake you up. That's funny. He had a Barney and a noose on the ceiling. Yeah, don't we all? He had a Barney and a noose on the ceiling. Those are the fun teachers. I'm being for real, man. The funnest teachers are the ones that had a good sense of humor, you know? Yeah. In 98, we watched the playoffs, the Padres in the playoffs. Nice. That's sick. That's a good teacher, man. The best teacher ever. I remember those cool teachers in high school. For real. He's an awesome teacher. Thank you. Eddie, do you remember names of your favorite teachers ever? I didn't have very many cool ones. I remember when I was real little having a teacher named Mrs. Littlejohn. She was like the sweetest person on the planet. Really? I always remember her for that. In high school, my favorite teacher was Mr. Oliver. And he... had a nickname very honestly. Like it was his shtick. Because a lot of times teachers would have shtick. Yeah. Like it was their thing. And his thing was that he never called you by your name. He had a nickname for every single person. Wow. Every single student went by a nickname. They did not have a normal name. I love that. They never called them by their name. And I was Alex. Alex? Yes. The reason that I was Alex was because
My uncle Alex was a barber. And this guy said to me the first day I was ever in his class, he goes, is your uncle a barber? And I said, yeah. And he goes, is his name Alex? And I said, yeah. He goes, all right, Alex, you're Alex. And he knew my uncle used to get his hair cut by my uncle. And he always called me Alex. Really cool guy. Really cool guy. And the thing that made him cool was he was funny. Like he made learning funny. You know, which is good. Did a lot of make-em-ups. That's right. He did some make-em-ups from time to time. Make-em-ups. Couple of make-em-ups. Eddie mentioned it. Adam Pacman Jones officially entering alcohol rehab. Really? Did they say where, Eddie? The only thing that Jerry Jones is saying is that it is not in the Metroplex area. That's right. Dallas Metroplex. What is that? Yeah, for those of you that don't know. If you live in Dallas, they refer to it as the Metroplex, okay? As top salesperson in the Metroplex four quarters in a row, right, bro? So it's like a county, town? Dallas is known as the Metroplex. The whole city? Yeah, the whole... It's like Dallas-Fort Worth. Yeah, Dallas-Fort Worth area. All of that area. The Metroplex, bro, okay?
It's the Metroplex, dude. Live it, learn it, and know how to use it, all right? Sorry, Batman. I know nothing about that, dude. Go to the University of Texas. You'll learn all about it, okay, dude? You guys are the long... The longhorns, okay, bro? Hook them, all right? You should come up to Boston sometime. Hook them horns. P1 Jojo's on the line. It's filthy, dude, all right? It's an ashtray, that place, all right? That's my ashtray you're talking about. P1 Jojo? Yeah. Are you there? Yeah. Can you hear me? Yeah, I can hear you. What's up? I wanted to tell you guys about when you're talking about cool high school teachers. I had a high school teacher in my sophomore year. He played for the Raiders. Really? Coolest teacher ever. What was his name? Marcus Allen. It was Mr. Allen. What was his name? Jokey Williams. He played in the 80s when they won the Super Bowl. He had a Super Bowl ring. Did you say Doki Williams? Yes. That was your high school teacher? Yes. I remember hearing that name, Doki Williams. What did he teach? He was a fat coach, too. Yeah, Rob said, what did he teach? He taught world history. That's cool. Imagine Doki Williams as your coach. Yeah. Hey, thank you. I appreciate it.
Do you guys ever remember learning in school that the word a lot was two words and not one? Do you guys remember that? No. Mrs. Man, all I have run into my head right now is Feinberg, but I think it was like Feinstein. Her name was Feinstein. Feingold. Feingold. Feingold. He was on a mission to eliminate. Very famous doctor, as a matter of fact. Food coloring, yeah. And he hated a lot. Well. At the school that I went to, if you did something wrong in class, they wrote your name on the board, and then that was a warning. And then if you did something wrong, again, they would put a checkmark next to it. That meant detention. And as it escalated, it got worse and worse until you got to execution. They would eventually execute you. That's true. But in Mrs. Feinberg's class, she said, if you spell the word a lot,
And just spell it with one word, you're going to get your name or a checkmark or whatever. I did it one time. I never misspelled that word ever in my life. It worked, man. I never, ever, ever misspelled it. I remember that really hardcore. Just like the time that I was almost going to be... Hung, because I had gotten so many check marks, I had the noose around my neck, and they said, finally, the principal said, no, forget it. Forget it. Right at the last minute. It was a close call. Really close. I protested in school, by the way. You know how we were talking about hot schools that don't have air conditioning in them? Yeah. Did I ever tell you about how I protested that? Well, that's one of your hot ones. At Brownell Elementary School? No. Seriously. Did I ever tell you about that? What I did was, I started, There was, like, kids that had left their jackets in the class, and they were all in this big box in the end of the room. And I said, it's so hot in here. I started putting on all of the jackets over my clothes and, like, putting layers of jackets to show the teacher that, okay, fine. If it's going to be hot in here, I'm really going to make it hot. You were that kid. Getting hot in here. So hot. Wow. So take off all your clothes. It was supposed to be funny, you know. It's awesome. And kids thought it was funny.
His username on the board. I got my name on the board. You're so cool, though. P1 Josh. Hey, what's up, Mike? What's going on? What's up, dude? Nothing, man. I had the coolest history teacher of all time. Oh, really? First period. I had a first period, and we were talking about Teddy Roosevelt. Yeah. And he just gets up. He says, come on. We take one of the buses out of the parking lot. And he drives us to his grave, and we just hung out there, and he talked to us about petty roads. Come on. That's crazy. That is not protocol. We were, like, hiding behind the hallways and everything. It was so cool. He's like, we had a seance, you know. It was really a trip. Brought it back to life. Yeah. That is as stiff as a board. That's right. Hey, thanks, brother. Eddie, what was your allowance when you were a kid? Oh, wow. Well, it varied depending on the years and the chores I did. I can remember specifically, though, it being $5. Per week? Per week. I had a lot of chores. You did? I was way underpaid. I had a lot of chores, and I never lived up to them. Did you live up to your chores? I mean, I did them, but they were never good enough. Really? Did you pass inspection? Oh, yeah. My parents were very supportive. They were? My parents were extraordinarily unsupportive in this regard. Yeah.
Uh, it was always my mom that gave the chores out and I was, uh, supposed to dust and she would go through, you know, like with a white cloth and I never did it up to expectation. And so, uh, you know, executed on many occasions. Sky, did you have chores? Yeah. I'm trying to remember how much money I got paid. I want to say it was $20 a month. Money, money, money. Really? Yeah. So they pay you monthly? I think so. Monthly? Yeah. Not bi-weekly or weekly? Yeah. No, I think it was monthly. 20 bucks? Show the money! We had a lot of chores. Were you issued a check through payroll or did you actually receive cash? Direct deposit. Direct deposit? Yeah. What were your chores? It was just kind of whatever's going on. So it ranged from vacuuming. The one I hated the most was dusting money. Dusting the house plants. Show me the money. Dusting the houseplants was ridiculous. Hey, guys. I love money. That'd be terrible. But a lot of outdoor stuff, pulling weeds, you know, picking up the pruning clippings, just all of it. I didn't mind the weeds so much. Shut up. That's what I mean. Who had the biggest allowance? 20 bucks is pretty good. But that's a month. I mean, that breaks down to what? Five bucks a week? Yeah, yeah. So yours was the same as Eddie's, I guess. Who has the highest allowance?
Who has the highest allowance now? Oh, I can't even imagine. Call me if you're a parent and you believe in your head you give your kid a big allowance. Kids are getting 20 bucks for teeth. Right? Oh, yeah. Then allowances must be through the roof. 570-1053. Call me if you think that you give the biggest allowance. 570-1053. What's the highest allowance we could come up with? He used to eat a lot of natural food. Most people have natural causes. His jack-o'-lanterns are on permanent display at museums around the world. He has over 3,200 skeletons in his closet. Brought to you by the Haunted Hotel, Scion, and Rock 105.3. Keyword, Boo. The Mikey Show continues. Featuring Mikey. I have this uncanny ability to reveal things about myself. Eddie. I have Star Wars cereal boxes on my refrigerator. Very easy. Sky. I love the troops. I love America. I just don't agree with what we're doing over there. Sean. I realized over the weekend that I absolutely love the store Bed Bath & Beyond. Oh, dude. Boston Rob. This is the time of year where I become OCD and have a lot of complexes because of... My baseball team that plays. And Ashley. I hate to be told what to do. The Mikey Show's on. Oh, I hate you guys. Rock 105.3. Welcome back. I'm going to guess this is not John Lennon. Doesn't sound like it. Who is this, Seth? Who we got? I'm actually not sure. I know it's originally done by John Lennon.
Welcome back. It is 8.03. Today is the one-year anniversary of the 2007 wildfires. Less than 10% of the homes burnt last year have been rebuilt. Arizona wide receiver Anquan Bolden returns to practice for the first time since getting his face smashed. Oh, wow. This is U2 covering John Lennon's Instant Karma. Wow. How about that? Before we went to break, we asked people, You're given for an allowance. You guys are going to freak out when you hear some of these calls. I'm not ready for this. No. Get ready. Now, understand, Eddie and Sky made about five bucks a week. Yeah. Let's see. P1. Oh, Eric. Oh, Eric. How dare you, Eric? He said he pays his son between $50 and $75 a week. No. Come on. I do not believe it. I will not. That's crazy. You guys. I will not.
Come on. That is a lie. It's a blatant, bold-faced lie. P1 Corey, are you there? Yes. How much do you pay? I pay my son $100 a week. It averages about to be $200 every two weeks. Wow. For what? You've got to understand. I started working. My parents had a restaurant when I was younger. So, of course, I had to work there. So when I was about 13, about his age now, what I do is as soon as he gets home out of school, he signs his name on the refrigerator. He checks off what he's done that day. He's done his homework, and basically it's like $10 an hour. And every two weeks when I get paid, I write him out a money order for about $200. Wow. Oh, my gosh. What sorts of things does he do with the money, Corey? Right now, he has about $600 saved up in the bank. And he's bought himself, he has a, what is it, a 42-inch flat screen in his room. Oh, my gosh. What is going on? He has a PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii.
Surround, sound, everything. How long has he been making $100 a week? For about almost a year now. Wow. Zeth wants to be your honorary son, by the way. Yeah, he needs a second job. He makes more than I do, man. Well, what kind of things are on this list that he checks off for getting $10 an hour? He has to take the dog out. He has to... I'll take the dog out. Right? Heck yeah. I mean, isn't it probably the kid's dog? Yeah. It takes the dog out. He has to wash the dishes. He has to vacuum the floor. He has to clean the bathroom. Yeah, but every day? What does he do daily? He does that every day. I don't even have to ask him anymore. So he vacuums and cleans the bathroom daily? Daily. Wow. Eddie and Sky are not buying that he does that every day. This is every day. How do you know? You're not home. Excuse me? Are you home? Did you see him do it? No, I'm at work. And if you're cleaning the bathroom every single day, then today's cleaning is putting your toothbrush in a drawer, and he's going to get, you know, 10 bucks an hour. Like, come on. Wow. No, no, no. He cleans up after when I pick him up. After I get off of work, I go pick him up from school, and that's when he's basically like he's clocking in work.
Now, wait a minute. You guys think that this is a lot. This is not a lot. That's crazy. It is a lot, Mike. No, because P1 Mountain Biker pays a little bit more. Are you there, P1 Mountain Biker? No, he does not. Mountain Biker. Mountain Biker, are you there? He's not there. Man, Mountain Biker. Maybe he freaked out because he thought. Because we were giving that other guy the business. Giving the other guy the business. P1 Wow, are you there? Hey, what's up, guys? What's up? Nothing much. No, I never got paid like $100 a week or anything. But when I was like 10 or 11 years old, my mom would pay us, you know, like $20, $25 a week depending on what chores we did. But she would also give us these things called Nintendo dollars to control our video game playing because we would play for like 10 hours a day nonstop. And so to control our playing, like the chores we would do, we could either trade in our cash for these Nintendo dollars.
And depending on what the chore was or how much cash we gave her, each Nintendo buck was worth 15 to 30 minutes of game time. Nice. How old are you now? Now I'm 23. What do you do? What do I do for a living? Yeah. Oh, right now, actually, I'm unemployed. I'm getting my life back together. I'm staying at a rehab center, actually. Yeah, I left that kind of crazy, and yeah, just getting back together now. Really? Yeah. Well, good luck to you, dude. Yeah. Good luck to you, brother. And I like what your mom's thinking. I always, you know what, Skye? What? Whenever I hear stuff like that, I go, oh, that's really interesting. Let's catch up, see how things are going. Yeah, see how the Nintendo bucks turned out. How did Nintendo bucks turn out? Uh-oh. Who knows? Who knows? I don't know. It could have been a gabillion things. It could have been a gabillion things, you know? It could have been a gabillion things. Right. It just, oh, man, I heard that. I'm like, that's great. Right. You're supposed to be like, I'm a doctor now. Yeah, you know what I mean? I save old ladies in my free time. Yeah, it's a hobby. Yeah. It's a hobby. We run Xbox. Exactly. Right. I'm a financial trader. Wow. That is interesting. 5701053. How much do you give your kid? P1 Vicky. Yes. Go ahead.
I was just commenting that Sky didn't believe that that guy's kid does all this stuff every single day. My kids do that every single day, and they do it for free. Well, that's what I'm saying. Picking your clothes up off the floor, you shouldn't get $10 for that. That doesn't constitute cleaning your room or putting your hairbrush back in the drawer. That's not cleaning the bathroom. No, my kids like clean the toilet, like the toilet, the shower. Every day? Every single day. Are they OCD? Vicki, how come they do that? Because it just makes sense. I work two jobs and I tell them if we have to spend the one day off that we have cleaning, then we're not going to get to do anything. And so if you do it every single day, it takes you two, three minutes to get it done versus spending a whole day cleaning. after a week, you know? So do they get a, uh, so on the weekend they get the weekend off or how does that work? Yeah. Yeah. The weekend we don't, they don't, they don't have to clean because that's the only day I get off. I get Sunday off. Um, you know, I work two jobs. So Saturday I work too. And, um, this is the day that we, you know, I get to take them wherever they want, whatever we're going to do, you know, go out to eat and, you know, movies, whatever they, they want to do. But I mean, they don't have like a set allowance or anything.
But they get, I mean, this stuff gets done every single day. Dishes are done every day. The counters are clean every day. Their rooms are clean. They do, you know, my oldest does the laundry. Wow. Sounds like great kids. Yeah, it does. They are. They're pretty good. 14, 11, and 8. Wow. And, you know, they pretty much run the house. I love it. Yeah. Thanks for the call, Vicki. All right. Eddie, Sky, you have 10-year-olds today. How much is allowance? Mike, I can't play this game. I need you to know. They both are... Oh, man. They are tripping, boo. Ten-year-olds. I would pay my ten-year-old, depending on how much they do. Yes, Eddie. And I would dock them pay as well, by the way. How would you do this? If they aren't doing their chores. There's no guaranteed money here. Yeah, I agree. I think I would probably go ten years old. Ten bucks a week? Yeah, I was thinking ten bucks a week. Ten bucks a week? Well, I think that's pretty good. It means that it's doubled since you guys were kids. It's gone up 100%. Again, it depends on what the chores are and stuff like that. That sounds pretty good to me. I think $10 a week is decent. Money, money, money. What does a 10-year-old need to buy? My 10-year-old doesn't need to buy flat-screen TVs. Wait a minute, Eddie. You're telling me that you're not going to write...
A money order for $100 a week for your... Oh, gosh. Not even if they graduated high school. But now that I think about it, $10 is a lot. That's like $40 a month. Yeah. So the kid can buy himself like two new toys like every month. That doesn't seem like... Why is that bad? That's what we did. Yeah, it seems like a lot. I remember like striving to save up for things, like taking months to save up for things. If he's buying an Xbox game, he can't afford it. Yeah, it would take months for the Xbox. It's like $60, right? I don't know. Those are nuts. It should take a few months. Well, I think that's about appropriate now. No, not really. Sean, what would you give your 10-year-old? Maybe $5 every two weeks, maybe. $10 a month. Dude, I never got allowance one. When I was a kid. So that would be a 500% increase from what you would be. And did you think that was fair? I did what I could do. Right. Did you think it was fair? I don't know if it was fair or not. I mean, it's not like I, you know, it's not like I never got anything, you know. There were definitely lots of things that I wanted that I never got, but it's not like I never received anything. Christmas time was the time when I got stuff. I do not. On a birthday. I don't remember allowance. No.
That's why I haven't really weighed in. No? No, I think I got occasional dough. But I, it wasn't much. I remember mowing lawns a lot. I got into mowing lawns and it was like, I took my parents to see a really inappropriate movie one time. Eddie, do you know this story? No. No, I mowed lawns like crazy because I got it in my head. It'd be really great to take my parents to the movie and pay. Oh, that's sweet. It was $10. Yeah. It's $10 to take me and my parents to the movies. So I mowed these lawns, and I thought, yeah, I'm going to do this. It's like their anniversary or something coming up. And I thought, that's what I'm going to do as a kid. I'm going to mow these lawns, make money. I'm going to do something. $10, I took them to see Quest for Fire. Oh, dude. What is it? I don't know what that is. You guys know that scene? Yeah. You guys familiar with that scene? I am not. I'd like to be familiarized.
What do we got? Hey, Mom, you want to explain what's going on here? Hey, Dad. Hey, Dad. What is this movie about? What is that, Dad? It's the life of cave people, Skye, and, you know, all of their cave activities. So I'm assuming even their cave reproduction is what we're discussing right now. I think that cave reproduction is a pretty good way of putting that. Little cave style action. It doesn't do it justice, but it says what it is. It certainly says what it is. And means what it says. Sexy cave time. Sexy cave time. What was said movie rated? I think it was R. It must have been. I think it was. You might take his parents. Great choice. At least they could get me in. That's awesome. You know what I mean? Totally. Oh, wow. Oh, brother. Well, I went to see Poltergeist by myself, remember? That's creepy. So weird. P1 Renegade. Yeah. What's going on? What's up, buddy? Not too much. Love this show. Thank you, brother. So what do you want to know, Mike? All righty. See, the P1 is get to the point, man. Did he just say, so what do you want to know? What do you want to know?
You called us, dude. He's mad. It's the truth. I mean, this isn't that difficult. Hey, what do you guys think of this system? I like it. P1 Farmer Ted, you there? Yes, I'm here. How do you do it, Farmer Ted? I'm doing good. How are you guys doing? We're good, man. Hey, I wanted to call. I'll tell you, my kids, a dollar a year. A dollar for every year, the old they are. Yes, that's all they get. And I make them put it in a fake checkbook and savings account. A fake one? How is it fake? Well, I give them the little, you know, the little check register you get with your check. Right, right, right. I put their name on it. Well, they put their name on it, and then I make them run it like a checkbook. Now, are you actually putting it aside for them? Well, I don't give them cash. No, no, no, no. Okay, wait a minute. But he's... So when they come to collect, when they come to you and go, Dad, I got, you know, $15 in my life checking account. You're going to pay him $15? Oh, yeah, they have to take it and they have to write it in, $15 for whatever they were going to do, and then I give them the money. Now, is it like, how old are your kids? Right now, I've got one in college, one's 16, one's 14, and one's 13. Okay, now, let's just take the 13-year-old. Does the 13-year-old get $13 a month, a week, a year? How does it work? Per week. Per week, $13 a week. And then they take that $13 and they have to split it.
Half goes into their savings, which they can't touch. Right. And then half goes into the checking account, which, like, if we're out and about, this works great. Parents are going to love this. So you're out at the mall, and they're like, hey, can I get this toy? And I'm like, do you have your checkbook? Oh, that's awesome. That's great. It's just responsibility. I'd be fudging those numbers like crazy. That's right, man. Carry the one. Hello. Got the daddy IRS in there. Check that thing out. Audit me. Go for it. You can't prove anything. You got to audit them. That's fantastic. I didn't keep my receipt. Sorry, Pop. Hey, Farmer Ted, I love it, man. Hey, you guys, here's the best part. Let's say they don't have their checking account. Yeah. or the checkbook, I charge 100% interest. That is fantastic, dude. That's a little much. He'll cover it. It's a little much. Listen, I got you. I got you. You've got to weigh, is it worth it? If you're the kid, you've got to go, hmm, all right, well, listen, I can get it. I can get it right now. Now, I tell you, it teaches you a couple things. A, it teaches you what you're going to owe, and B, it teaches you, I probably shouldn't forget my checkbook if I'm going out. Oh, that's good. I don't know.
Guys, you know what? My kids, right now, I don't have any money worries with my kids whatsoever. They don't ask me for money. If they're out, they don't ask me for money. My college kid runs his complete checkbook out of, I don't even know what he's got going on in money, but I know his, he knows what the hell's going on. Eddie has a question. I don't doubt it. Okay, so what if the 13-year-old is at the movies or somewhere with his friends and dad's not around? And how do I get money with my fake checkbook? Yeah, how does that work? What about the cash? You know, isn't there something set up for cash? Do I have an ATM? Like a unicorn ATM? Yes. I did set the kids up when they hit 16 and a half. Believe me, banks don't give checking accounts to kids. It's very difficult to find one. I did find one that'll give a 16-year-old an account. Yeah. But with the littler kids, it's just planning. They have to plan that out. Oh, I'm going to the movies. I need to get $20 out of my bank. Now, how do you do as an adult? How do you do with money? What do you mean? Well, I mean, do you manage your money pretty well?
Oh, the wife does that. I don't know how much money I have. Oh, that's shocking to me. That's shocking to me. That's interesting. Yeah, like I was thinking he was going to say, oh, yeah, you know, I've got these money market accounts set up and I'm doing this kind of financial advising for myself. And he's like, I don't know what I do with this stuff. My wife takes care of it. What do you want from me? He knows more about the financial well-being of their family. Yeah, the wife runs all that stuff. Farmer Ted, did you come up with this system or did the wife? Well, you know, I grew up with I have no money skills and it's cost me dearly. This is, you know, so I've been through the financial hard times. So when I when I got into the second family, bringing my kids into it, we just started it because I got tired of the kids coming into me at the mall going, I need money. I need money. I need money. Now, you know what? We're putting this stuff into it. You're going to learn banking, checking, savings, all that stuff. Wow. Thank you for the call, Farmer Ted. You're welcome. I want to take this one last call. This is a lucky 17-year-old. Very lucky 17-year-old. P1 Long Travel. Hey. What's going on? I match my daughter's paycheck dollar for dollar. As long as? As long as she puts it in her savings account and doesn't touch it, that's going to be her college fund because she wants to go to college and she doesn't know how to save.
So I made her a deal. As long as she puts every check in the bank, I match a dollar for dollar. Wow. That's a great 401k plan she's got. No kidding. Now, I'm guessing that she started working at what, 15, 16? No, actually, she just started about a month and a half ago. So she's already soaked me in for $1,500. So it's going to be about a year that you're going to spend money doing this. And what does she do for spending money? What does she do there? That her mom gives her some money for that. Okay. That's not a bad deal, man. She's getting it from both sides. That's a great deal. Man, if you're the kid, you made out like a bandit. Pretty nice. Thank you for the call. Our text number is 35253. Our phone number is 5701053. And when we come back, we're going to do the first ever Wuss Rap Jukebox. You know rap. Eddie, what kind of rap are we talking here? Old school, new school, mid school? Call us right now. Play a little wuss rap jukebox. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock.

I can sense somewhere right now I'll be grateful. Eddie, what did you think? Yo, yo, yo, I mean, this ain't no freestyle battle off, you know what I'm saying? This boy's tripping, yo.
He's straight tripping, man. Listen to this fool. Dang, dude. This ain't the time for you to be promoting your record. Yeah, dude. Come on. You got to play with the rules, homie. What do you think, Eddie? No way. Dunzo. Sky. Yeah, I saw the sky. I was like, oh, P. Diddy's about to flow. And then it turned out it was snow. Oh, dude. Informer. You are not hot. And finally, Sean. You know, dude, I thought you had your grills in, but you was just brushing with cheese whiz. Peace out. Sorry, bro. We'll be waiting for the album to drop. All right, we've got to take a quick timeout. Our text number is 35253. Our phone number is 5701053. And we're still going to do P1 trivia today because somebody will be coming into the studio on Friday. Awesome! So hang on. This is the Mikey O. You've given everyone a laugh and a great way to start my day, so we thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. Rock 105.3. Better mileage tips presented by Chevron. How fast are you going right now? Really?
That fast? So what's your hurry? Did you know that if you slowed down just a little, you'd get better mileage? It's true. If you drove 55 miles per hour on the highway instead of 65 miles per hour, you could go about 30 to 60 more miles on a tank of gas. It's like the story of the tortoise and the hare. You know, slow and steady wins the race. And that also applies to city driving. When you're stopped at a traffic light and it turns green, avoid the jackrabbit start. Don't punch the gas. It's not a race. Just accelerate smoothly and gradually. And let's face it, you'll catch up to those other cars at the next light anyway. So remember, a heavy foot equals a light gas tank. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Techron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtechron.com. Following is a paid political announcement. Mikey. I listen exclusively to talk radio. Eddie. I use a specific brand of Kleenex Sky. I don't like Gorgonzola, so... Yes, you do. Yes, you do. Sean. I really think that ice cubes from, like, refrigerator ice cube trays are disgusting. Boston Rob. I'm a grown-ass man. Show me some respect. And Ashley. I am a very forgiving person. On Rock 105.3. Sean saw like a whole special on Johnny Cash and this album and everything. And apparently Johnny Cash's old record company that he had been on forever, they like dumped him. Because they thought he was old and washed up and everything. And Rick Rubin, you know Rick Rubin, the producer, he's like, he does like every gigantic rock act in the world. And rap. And rap.
I guess he was a big-time Johnny Cash fan, and he thought it was like a travesty what they did to him. Couldn't believe it. So he called Johnny Cash up. He's like, let's make a record together. And Sean, didn't you say that they made a few records together and they were highly successful? Yeah, they made, I think it was like three or four of them together. And they were all just like, you know, huge successes. But the key thing was, is that it opened up this young market that had never really, you know, bought into Johnny Cash before. And, you know, that was like around the time when he did that Nine Inch Nails cover and several other covers. But yeah, man. Just awesome. And didn't you say that his whole deal with him was he just wanted him to grab a guitar and just sing? Yeah, the first album, his whole concept for the first album was everything minimal and let's just spotlight the voice because the voice is what it's all about. And that first album was a smash. It's a Soundgarden song. That's pretty cool.
Welcome. It is 8.58. Police were called out yesterday to check out a strange smell coming from a van in Rancho Penasquitos and found a dead body inside. Monday Night Football last night saw the Patriots destroy the Broncos 41-7. Ease the pain a little bit for Boston, Rob. Just a little. Just a little, though. Oh, yeah. He was going through a hard time with this Red Sox deal. No, I am. He still is. Oh. Yeah. He's still not over it. I'm going to give my Red Sox eulogy today. Is that right? Yeah. Do you actually have one? Man, I'd love to have you read it if you did have one. No, but me and my buddy, we're kind of going back and forth, you know. We're happy that we got this far, you know. That's what you should be. It's an honor just to be nominated. That's right. It is. It's awesome. My biggest thing is, you know, five months until April. Oh, my gosh. Freak out until then. Do you believe that? He's already thinking about April. Right? Oh, I can't wait. Would you like to hear Boston Rob's, I say last parody, because he's working on one. It might be soon? Has it been recorded? Yeah, I'm waiting for an email. How about that? Let's listen to your latest work. As you know, Boston Rob is a big fan of Sarah Palin. Maybe you know that, maybe you don't. But yeah, he's a big fan of Sarah Palin. Who isn't?
Yeah, she's great. Oh, my gosh. And so Boston Rob, let's see. Where is that, Ash? I got it. I got it. So Boston Rob did a song to Christopher Cross, to the tune of Salem. And I think you're really going to enjoy it. It's about Sarah Palin. It's a tearjerker. It really is, man. It really is. Like, hold on to your lady or your fella as you hear this. Let's put some librarian glasses on her. Oh. You know what I'm saying? Well, McCain's not my candidate. And Biden ain't for me. Obama, yeah, he's pretty great. But they don't speak. Oh, the Alaska sun worked miracles. You're the hottest VP. Gore used to be. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Is that true? You know it, dude. I think so. Russia's not fun. I almost think we should have Ashley's drops in there going. Who's that? For the listeners that don't know. Boris Yeltsin, the president of Russia. Oh, look at that. It's for him.
She got you. Oh, he's so funny, Josh. She got you on that one. Oh, she's got a way of driving. She had my wife. Excuse you. A really cool effect on his voice there. Thank you. Thank you. What's that? Shut up. Making me like the library. I'm an honorary member of MIT. Yo. Not a lot of people can hear that. Stop holding it. That's gorgeous. That is just absolutely beautiful. People can do that. No. I mean, seriously. Nobody can. No one. It's a talent. Something like that. 570-1053 is our phone number. And our text number is 35253. Would you like to hear a newscaster from KTSM TV in El Paso have a little flub?
Yes, please. Cut to. An ice cream vendor on El Paso's Most Wanted list is behind bars. You know what? Just keep going. That's what I say. Ignore it. Just ignore it. Nobody heard. Cut to. An ice cream vendor on El Paso's Most Wanted list is behind bars. Yes. Two different nouns. Yes. One tasty. One, not so much. One not. Good. Yeah. You decide which. The pastor at my church did that a couple weeks ago. Oh, no. Great place for it to happen. Yeah. He was telling us to take out our note sheets. Oh, no. Yeah. Did Kelly Ripley have one of those yesterday? Did she on TV, like live on TV? Do we have it? Yeah. Check it out. Yeah, yesterday. Cut one. I'm thinking back to 1980, right? When the Phillies won the World Series that year. I was talking about this the other day. We had a substitute teacher, and there was a rumor that swirled through Berlin Community School that this guy was Mike Schmitz. Mike Schmitz's twin.
Uh-huh. Yes. Just keep going. Yeah, yeah. Totally. Totally. Yeah, yeah, totally. By the way, the show is called Regis and Kelly Live. Yeah. Oh, that is awesome. Yeah. Well, it happens, you know. Awesome. What are you going to do? Church, Regis and Kelly. Yeah. Good story. It happens. Gilman. Yeah, at our church, we have two pastors that rotate in and out. So the next weekend, the pastor was Chris. And he goes, yeah, I just want to let you know, we're working on an eight-second delay now here at church. We have a little bit of a potty mouth that's on here the rest of the time. So just got to put this sucker on an eight-second delay. It's pretty funny, though. Let's see. Joe Biden. Speaking at a Seattle fundraiser. And the audio quality is not the best here. But I think you're going to enjoy this moment. Unless you're a Democrat. Uh-oh. Are they talking about Rob's song? Cut 11. Mark my words. Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy.
The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old president of the United States of America. Remember I said standing here, you don't remember anything else I said, watch, we're going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the metal of this guy. And he's going to have to make some really tough, I don't know what the decision's going to be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student in history, and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it's going to happen. Please don't make those kinds of guarantees, Mr. Biden. I couldn't understand them. You couldn't understand any of it? I don't know what he was saying. I had trouble. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Basically what he's saying, like three times. No, we don't need to repeat it. Is he saying, mark my words, within the first six months of Barack Obama being president, there will be an international crisis and it will test him. A generated crisis. Mark my words.
What the hell? I guess he's trying to be, you know, like he's letting you know that this guy's prepared. Barack Obama's prepared. And, you know, if something happens, but he might say if something happens. Yes. What quatrain was that in, sir? Dude. Yeah. So that's the thing, man. I'm looking over here. The crisis. I believe it starts with an S. I see smoke. I see... Oh, this isn't good. Is it over here? Is there a crisis over here? I'm feeling over here a crisis. Yes, some sort of fire. Yes, yes. My sister-in-law's mad at government. Oh, no. This is it. This is what's going to happen. This is the crisis. She can't freak out. Does she have pipes? Yes. Okay, there's going to be some sort of issue. Yeah. That's brutal. Listen. That is brutal. Well, what do you do, man? If you're Barack Obama's, you know, people, you got to pull them over. You got to say, hey, Joe, you got to give us a break. Shut up. Yeah, you got to give us a break. There's a reason why you're not running for president anymore, bro. Mm-hmm. Wow. Let's see. Wow. Wow.
Well, yeah, because she's shooting rainbows out of her butt. Wow. How do you do that, by the way? It takes a talent. Lots of Skittles. That is a talent. A lot of Skittles. Hey, that's a rainbow. Oh, pretty. Don't you know. Don't you know. I have a confession to make. I have a confession to make, and my wife is probably going to hear about it right here on the radio. This is always dangerous. Last night I went to change it to Monday Night Football. And two things were taping on the TiVo. I had to make a choice. Of course you did. I had to make a choice. No, you didn't. I did. Oh, you only have one TV in the house?
I'm sorry. Oh, wow. This is very bad. There was only five minutes left. There was only five minutes left. There was only five minutes left. Mike, those are the best five minutes. I took it into consideration. I said, which show should not have the last five minutes cut off? One show was Intervention. There's no way I'm cutting off the last five minutes. She wouldn't know what happened to the guy. Yeah, you can't do that. Can't cut off the last five minutes. So I cut off Dancing with the Stars. No, you didn't. That's fine. No, no, no. Isn't that fine? Mike, you made the right choice. I made the right choice, right? Eddie just went, no. No way. Eddie has the no way look. Honey, listen. I didn't know what to do. You better hope that dance was over. Why? How does it work, that show? You know, everybody dances and then the judges judge them. That could be very bad. So why couldn't you watch it on another TV? Well, because she was downstairs with her girlfriends. I couldn't interrupt her. You have the TVs in other rooms upstairs. I mean, there's multiple TVs upstairs. Oh, you mean for me to watch? Yes. I didn't even think of that. For five minutes. I didn't even think of that one. You guys, that's a good idea. For sure that's a good idea. And I will do that next time. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253.
Let's play a little P1 trivia when we get back. What do you say? We do a little P1 trivia after we take a quick timeout. And by the way, when we come back, I'm going to be telling you about something. Is there more money coming for you with an economic stimulus package? One other thing. I like Splenda, okay? I've told you guys, I like Splenda. There's a new study out about Splenda. Oh, no. Oh, gosh. Dude, I'm telling you. I'm telling you. We'll tell you what this study is telling us that could be happening to you. If you like Splenda. Oh, you don't even know stupid is. The Mikey Show is on. It's about to get it. Once upon a time, you got married with the very best intention. Times things simply don't work out the way you intended. If you're a man facing divorce, be careful. It says I love steak. Big deal. I'm a steak man. What do you know about it anyway? You're just a burrito. Actually, I'm the new triple steak burrito from Taco Bell.
As in three times the juicy, marinated, gloriously grilled steak. Wow. Yep. So if you really love steak, you'd be having one of me instead of that measly little hockey puck you're grilling up yourself. Come on. I mean, how much steak can one man eat? That, my friend, as any real steak man will tell you, is not the question, but the challenge. Steak layered with steak, then loaded with more grilled, marinated steak, fire-roasted salsa, and cheese. It's one burrito with a whole lot of steak. Think outside the bun at participating locations for a limited time. Introducing Taco Bell's new triple berries and cream fruities to freeze. The ones about teaching marriage in schools, they're absolutely not true, says California's superintendent of public schools.
That's why California teachers say no on eight. Our laws should treat everyone equally. All eight major California newspapers agree. Regardless of how you feel about marriage, it's wrong to eliminate fundamental rights. No on eight. It's unfair, unnecessary, and wrong. Paid for by No on Eight. Equality for all. Major funding from No on Eight, Equality California and Human Rights Campaign. HRC California Marriage Pack. No on Prop 8. Well, it's been a very tough ride here this morning, and still going to find some tough spots, especially at that Northbound 5, and that's going to continue for some time. Or that big rig got in an accident, caught on fire, and blocking the two right lanes just past La Costa Avenue.
Dumped some diesel fuel in Batiquitos Lagoon. Overall, just a bad situation. Hazmat crews are still on the scene. Two right lanes are still blocked. And you're in single digits, bumper to bumper, coming out of Encinitas up into Carlsbad. For good reason, you're being defiant to avoid that. That traffic room is in effect, by the way, until at least noon. So that gives you some time, some idea of how long it's going to be very tough like that on that freeway. You might want to hop on the coastline and take the scenic route around that. Southbound 35 looking okay right now. The westbound 56, though, watch for the brake lights from Communityville, Surstil to Carmel Valley. Westbound 52, watch for the slowdown approaching the 805. And that continues slow through San Clemente Canyon to Genesee. And then you're back at the speed. And still kind of tough on this 805 northbound. Slow and go out of Kearney Mesa from Balboa. up to Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. I'm McLaurin's on Rock 105.3. Real good. I'm sure there's a lot of convicts that are good. K-I-C. San Diego's Rock. Back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I'm a bad guy. Trying to be a good guy. Eddie. I almost now try to find kind of the weirdest thing on the menu. It didn't. Sky. I hate...
To cook. Sean. I hate the taste of water. Boston Rob. You guys are a bunch of jerks and you know that. Jerks. And Ashley. I just have a different way of speaking. There you go. Utilizing the language. The Mikey Show's on. All right. No. That's what I'm talking about. Rock 105.3. Welcome back. It is 9.17. Gwyneth Paltrow says she's helping her friend Madonna cope with her recent divorce. Tiger Woods was back at Torrey Pines, this time as a caddy. He was a caddy for a dude who won some sweepstakes contest. That's so cool. That is crazy. Eddie, have you ever noticed that when your boy Rob eats, his eyes get really big? Yes. Have you noticed that? He does a few things when he eats that I've noticed. Some observations? Yes. What else does that? He doesn't open his mouth very big. No. Really? Yeah. You're right. Take a bite. Take a bite, Rob. Well, it's wicked hot right now. He's eating a Hot Pocket.
Yeah, you're right, Eddie. He just barely opens. And with his finger food, he like shoves it in his mouth. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He barely opens his mouth. I don't understand that. But his eyes get big like a shark. You know what I'm saying? Strange. It's really strange. So, a couple things. The government is considering throwing some more money out there. Yeah, a new economic stimulus package. What did you do with the last money the government gave you? Saquon, Mike. Tripled it, then lost it all. Did you pay bills or did you go spend it in the economy? No, some of it was bills and then it came right before my fiance's birthday. Is it inappropriate? Sky, I like to go to you for appropriate, inappropriate. Okay.
In fact, we should do a game at some point. Appropriate or inappropriate? Most of it will be inappropriate. I'm just letting you know. Is it inappropriate to ask Rob how much that stimulus package gave him? Like how much the check was for? Is that inappropriate? I think that's inappropriate to ask like George Chamberlain or but Rob. Isn't it standard for everybody? Is it the same amount? We all got the same amount. Well, there's a max amount, which is the same for everybody, which I believe these guys got. Ashley, did you get a check? Did you get a check, Zeth? Nope. Did you get a check, Rob? Uh-huh. Okay, Ash, can we ask you guys how much your check was? Yeah. How much? $600. Is yours the same, Rob? Wow. Okay. So they might send them $600 again? Yeah, they may. That's a lot of money. So they're talking about it. They haven't outlined any of the specifics, but it is, you know, rumored. So when is this happening, Skye? Well, as I just said. Oh, yeah. Maybe. She said maybe. I said maybe. I'm going to make a purchase today. No, you shouldn't. Get another credit card. No, you should not. And then just pay it off. Thank you, Skye. To go to Nordstrom again. Yeah. Bad ideas. Go to Nordstrom. So it's in the works. They're talking about it. Could happen within a couple months. These guys. I'm going to fight in the jeans. They listen. What? Huh?
Well, I think that part of the deal is that they really did want you to go to places like Nordstrom and spend your money. They wanted to pump money back in the economy, right? Definitely. So, I mean, go buy clothes. Go to MAC and get yourself some makeup, ladies and fellas. Whatever. Yeah. Free money. Thank you so much, Skye. Well, no, I'm not guaranteeing it. I did not guarantee it. When do I get my money? I said it's in the works. That's very nice. Hey, guys. I love money. It'll come out of her pocket. It will not. No, that is definitely not. No, that is not. You are guaranteed money. Money, money, money. Show me the money. Now, the other thing was this Splenda deal. And there was apparently a new study on Splenda. I love Splenda. I drink it every day. It's a powder. It's like sweet and low. And I use it in my coffee every day. And, Sky, what are they saying about me now? Well, they're saying that in a new study where they fed Splenda to rats. The rats that got Splenda versus the rats that just got the same amount of food but no Splenda, the Splenda rats gained more weight than the non-Splenda rats.
What about if you... I mean, so if you put that into human terms and if it's the same for humans, and of course Splenda is like... Don't eat the rats, man. You know, Splenda, of course, is totally on the defense about that. And they said, oh, well, you can't, you know, do research on rats and say that's the same for humans. But that's how they did the initial safety. data for Splenda was on rats. So for them to now say that this doesn't count because it was on rats. It's like the fat-free yogurt episode of Seinfeld. Thank you. Remember that one, Sean? Yeah. Okay. I remember it. I am alone. I remember it. But you never watch Seinfeld. You guys, Ashley remembers it too. She could do the whole episode. She probably memorized it by heart. Do you think? Let's see. Hey, Ashley, where's my new page of themes? Okay, you ready? You want to hear Ashley do it? Yeah. Ashley, do the fat-free episode of Seinfeld. The stroke? What are you talking about? I can't even understand the words. Jerry Seinfeld. She's not saying words, Mike. Dude, it was like we were playing a clip from the show. Not really. Was that Kramer?
Who was that? That was Jerry Seinfeld. No, it wasn't. Come on. Hey, Ashley's going to do a charity event. Oh, wait a minute. Did I miss one of the things that the Splenda? Oh, yeah. Well, and then the study also showed that the Splenda reduced the amount of beneficial bacteria in the rat's stomach. which is good bacteria that you want there to help you break down things. So they say it could have implications in the way your body absorbs medicine. So if you're a Splenda drinker, Mike, and you take certain medicines, it could... Do they say? No, no. Any medicine? Because it's changing the way... But my medicine works. It's changing the way your body is breaking it down. But my medicine works. Well, I'm not saying it won't work, but you may feel different. A non-Splenda person taking a certain medicine may feel different from a Splenda person taking that same medicine. Well, I think it was the great Julie Andrews that said just a spoonful of sugar. I think it was Splenda, actually. Splenda helps the medicine go down. Medicine go down. Medicine go down. Just a spoonful of Splenda. Medicine go down.
There it is. Send that to their research company. That's right. Ashley is going to be taking part in a charitable event and she will be one of the celebrity charity people and she has to fill out like a questionnaire that is asking questions about her. She has to describe herself. Ashley is actually being raffled off. Yes. She's like the thing, the ref. Oh, well, hello. And she, so she was in here and she was asking us, Hey guys, you know, can you help me tell me things about myself? So what are some of the questions? A lot of pressure. Well, it's like a bachelor bachelorette thing. And so like, they're going to auction me off and this is like my bio. So like they know who I am and what my deal is. So I need to put down things that would make people want to buy me. Right. Right. So like for hobbies.
I put yoga, playing with my dog, cooking, eating, dancing. Anything outdoors. Eating. You make stew? Should I put eating? That's weird, though. Yes, you make stew. What about stew? Should I put cooking? Because I do cook. That's a hobby. Don't put cooking. Put baking. I'm a good cook. You're a horrible cook. Put baking. Put gourmet baking. I'll put baking and cooking. Don't do that. Don't put cooking. False advertising. It's not necessary. And then five words that best describe you. I put energetic, loving, sensitive. And then I didn't really know, so then Mike said. What about damp? Good call. That is a quality. You know, your armpits. Your armpits sweat a lot. Sturdy. Stinky. Sturdy. I don't smell. She doesn't smell. Smell good. She smells good. Yeah, stinky good. Yeah. Okay. Let's see. Mike told me to put funny, so I put funny. Yeah, funny's good. I said put caring. Yeah. I put caring. Intelligent. No, all right. Come on. What about that one? I think that's a good one for her to put. Don't be cruel.
I don't need to lie. So put intelligent. Yeah, for sure. You're a smart. I'm sorry. Hello, SDSU. Don't put intelligent. Dean's List. Dean's List. Eddie, this is like my resume. I need to put good stuff, bro. I'm telling you. Misplaceable. Wait, I don't think that's a word. Remember? Lost the camera. What about Floody? Floody? Putting intelligent. Is that a word? Do not put that. I'm ready, then. Oh, that is a bad move. I'm sorry. I want my money back. In her own way. And baking. Hi. Then it says, what is your favorite vacation spot and why? Lake Havasu. Do it. Please put Lake Havasu. I will not. You guys, this is like... Ashley thought that Lake Havasu was like an hour away. Yeah, it was like right here. Yeah, she thought it was in San Diego County. She thought it was in San Diego. But we're naming cool things about San Diego. She goes, what about Lake Havasu?
This is like adult stuff. That's what I'm trying to say around here. So I put, I don't vacation as much as I should, but anything that has a beach and outdoor activities, I'm in. Like Idaho. Stop it. And then it says, describe your perfect day. Your perfect day. It would start with cookies. And then a Domino's pizza. And then more cookies. Another sheet. A Diet Coke. Diet. Diet Coke. Maybe wrap up with a cherry. I would have a filet of fish because it's healthy because it's fish. Yes, and I'm keeping my weight down. I'm trying to watch my figure. Some seasoned curlies. Maybe some sort of bread with butter and garlic. I'm going to say that I wake up, I would go to yoga, and then I would walk my dog and make coffee, and then I would... Cake. Maybe I would get a massage, and then I would cook him dinner. Yell at Seth a little. And then I would cook him dinner. You're going to make a what? And then I would cook him dinner. Oh, I thought you said make a ham dinner, and I was like, that's not fair to make a ham dinner. That guy's perfect. Shut up.
Well, that sounds lovely. Can I give people a website if they want to play? Yeah, yeah. If they want to order Ashley? If they want to buy me. No, because I really like this charity. It's Dress for Success, and it's going to be a really fun event. It's at the Palm Restaurant this Saturday from 1 to 5. There's going to be like a mingling hour, all sorts of. things to auction off. Ash, what happens if they get you? What do they do? Dude, it's crazy. Basically, I get to pick whatever date I want to go on with the guy that whatever. Oh, is it like a date? It's a date. Oh, it's a date. I'm talking like... Go to dinner at Jack's in La Jolla and then go see, like, a comedy show at Comedy Central. Really? Or go, like, hang by. Wait a second. You're telling us. Isn't that in New York? You're telling us. This is amazing. They go to the network Comedy Central in New York. I meant the Comedy Store. That's fantastic. I can't believe this. I meant the store. And then to Greece. May I meet you as a program manager? To watch the movie Greece. To watch the movie Greece. I think. I don't remember.
Let me double check. No, they're all like really legit dates. And so I get to pick which one I think I would have the most fun on. Do they give you options of different dates? Yeah. Oh, wow. That's cool. Yeah, it's really legit. And so it's on Saturday from 1 to 5. And it's like just a bunch of stuff going on. There's going to be a DJ and food. And it's just really going to be fun. And then you can buy somebody if you want to. And I'm going to be there. Do you know who else? What's this about buying people? Yes. Been there, done that. Do tell. Do they have their pilot's license? I'd like to open a tab. Yeah. All right. We're all funny. Don't worry, Ramsey. You're safe. You're safe. You're safe. No, this place is me. I'm not trying to replace. It's replaced. This place is me. It's not, no. Because I lost workings for you. Okay, so they've got Doug. That's my white man servant, Ramsey. Listen to me, Ramsey. Yo, what's up? Okay. You will need to fly me to the event. You need to fly me to the moon. Oh, really? I don't think he's giving me splendors. I'm a little shaky. It's because you have the diabetes. I have the diabetes. Don't ever.
Talk back to me. That is really weird. Ramsey. What you want? Oh, man. Pull up your L.L. Bean sweater. What, you want to lose that in my body? No, I do not. You're white. Pull up your L.L. Bean sweater. There you go. Take it down. There it is. Ooh, yeah. And a one, and a two, and a one, two, three, and... How dare you. What's going on here? Randy. You're indicating that it doesn't hurt when I whack your back. I think I got into the Halloween's candy. Ramsey, are you having a reaction? I'm having a little something that's the matter with me. You know what to do. What do I do? You take your insulin, you dum-dum. He hides it from me, you dum-dum. That is right. How do you? Oh, he's... He's being a brat. It's not hurting you, is it? I'm a little hopped up right now. On.
How dare you? How dare you? How dare you? No, no, no, no, no. Can I have one more Snickers? What's the matter with you, Yeti? You know if you eat the Snickers, it's going to give you a reaction. You've already got a reaction. You want to eat more? You've got reactions! I don't feel so good. My shoes. How dare you vomit on? I'm so dumb. What's he? Did you just spit inside my BMW? What the hell's going on here? 570-1053. Can I see the website? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So if you want to, you can purchase tickets. They say three or four hours, and that's while you're still backed up here at events. Need us in single digits crawling up to this accident scene. You might want to get on the coast highway and take the scenic route to get around this a lot faster, or maybe El Pino Real. Something supernatural is going on. Rock 105.3. How about that right there? Welcome back. It's a Mikey show at 9. 40. Jeff Probst is developing a new reality show that features people with terminal illness. Patriots running back Lawrence Maroney is done for the season as the team places him on injured reserve. Sky, I'm going to take a guess that the Jeff Probst thing is like a pull on the heartstrings type show. Yes, it's going to be a tearjerker. Like Little House.
Okay. Right? Yeah. Like eight is enough. Exactly, Mike. Right? Yeah. Like family. Wow. So Jeff Probst is developing this new reality show with the creator of Survivor as well as the creator of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. And basically what it'll do, it's called Live Like You're Dying. And it'll follow people with terminal illnesses being taken on the last adventure of their life before they die. Oh, thank you. Gross. Yeah, not even. Oh, man. Oh. Yeah, and Probst said the show's intended to inspire everybody to get out and make the most out of every day of their lives. But. Yeah. Yeah, Mike. Comma. Yes. If they give like an update at the end and say that the person passed away. Well, of course. That's very. Depressing. Yeah, but not just that. It's also very. Morbid. Gross. Yeah. And isn't it a bit. And comfortable.
Isn't it a bit exploitative? Aren't you kind of exploiting that death? I don't know. Yeah. I think so. Very interesting. It is. So it'll be on CBS. Live like you're dying. I was not on Reality Bites, by the way. No. I was not. Hey, what's up with the lady in Rancho Santa Fe? Came home from vacation last night. There's a burglar in her house. Yeah. Yeah, so she had been on vacation. She came home about 10 o'clock last night and was attacked as soon as she walked inside the door. She was hit over the head several times, and so she immediately ran back out the house and into her car and drove down the street and called the police. The police were there within six minutes, but they couldn't find the burglar anywhere. The woman was hospitalized for treatment but was not seriously injured. They have a very vague description of the suspect. A small man who wore all black clothing, including a black hoodie, pulled over his head. I was at home. All right. We're going to ask you. It says small man. Pink is over to die. That fits your description. Right there. Boston Rob, I don't mean to bum you out more, but Lawrence Maroney is done for the season, so. That guy's always injured. He was done for the season before the season started. He usually has, like, one good game, and then he put it on the shelf. Thank you. Thank you for coming on. You're like, yeah, it was really nice to use you for that game.
carrying, what, five backs? You're in a little bit of trouble because last night Sammy Morris got hurt too. He did? Yeah. Had a great game. And I didn't even see the injury. It just magically happened. Let's see. Anquan Bolden is somehow going back to practice. I thought his head physically came off of his body. It did. How is he actually returning to practice if he doesn't have a head? Steel plates and surgery, but he is coming back. He practiced for the first time yesterday and is trying to get his doctors to release him to play. Really? Take care of your head by wearing your helmet. It's that big a deal. What if we did some of this, though? How would you like to come into the studio? on Friday and hang out with the show. Patty. That's right. You get a laminated backstage pass, and that's not all. You also get free breakfast. We have breakfast catered in, and you get to hang out with the show the entire night. Oh, chewy. That's right. So funny, dude. Rebecca said, you know, because Jake's going to be Chewbacca for Halloween.
So Rebecca goes, honey, what does Chewbacca say? And I look at her like, what does Chewbacca say? You know, because she's like, she wants me to say something so that Jake can, like, say it. And she goes, oh, does he not say stuff? And I go, oh, baby's a Wookiee. What's the matter? I mean, he's Wookiee. And she goes, well, like, make a Wookiee noise. Oh, no. And what'd you do, Mike? I tried to go. And then Jake tried to do that. Yes. Which was pretty funny. It was pretty funny. So I will be. Thank you. There he is. Thank you, buddy. Nice Chewbacca. Who are you going to vote for, Jake? Okay, fine. Wow. Who's Chewbacca going to vote for? He's got Wookiee support. Chewbacca has always been.
A Republican. Staunch conservative. Really? Staunch conservative. True. Let's play a little P1 trivia. This is P1 Minivan. How are you? I'm all right. How are you doing, buddy? I'm doing good, dude. Why are you P1 Minivan? Because I like the way when Rob says it and the song goes, Minivan! Minivan! That's huge. That is huge. That is pretty awesome. Love it. Awesome. Minivan, how old are you? I'm 26. All right. How long have you been listening? Like three or four years. All right. And let's meet your competition today. P1 Kim. Hi. How are you? Good. How old are you? 33. 33. And how long have you been listening? A year and a half. All right. We got a year and a half to three years. So this guy's been listening twice the time you have. Come on, minivan. Minivan. Speaking of Boston Robins songs, his new song's ready. Oh, come on. We'll be dropping it like it's hot pretty soon. Awesome. We will begin with you, P1 Minivan. All right. And the way that this works is you've got to get the five points. You can pick a one, two, or three-point question. First person to five wins. What do you want? I want a two-pointer right in the middle. Nice. They go by how hard they are. Ones are easy. Threes are hard. You want right in the middle. Your two-point question is, what's the name of the new money guy that comes on every Tuesday on the Mikey Show? I think his name is, I don't know his last name, George something? Man, you are close.
That's not going to do it, bro. I'm sorry. It's George Chamberlain. George Chamberlain. Oh, he's so good. That's right. He is good. P1 Kim, one, two, or three-pointer? One point, please. You want a one-pointer? Oh, my goodness. Wow. P1 Kim, can you tell me the name of the game where you need to know the lyrics of songs? Mikey Show Game, where you need to know the lyrics to the songs. Lyrical Gangsta. That is good. Very well done. You got it, Tim. You got it. It's all right. P1 minivan. What do you want? A one? A two? Another two. Give me a two. Give me a two. Give me a two. Give me a two. Give me a two, guys. Breathe again. Another two. Big time. Big time. Here is your two-point question. P1 minivan. What was Team Sass' payoff for losing Battle of the Sexes? They had to wear...
That is correct. That is correct. This guy dressed like an owl. Oh, I look so sexy. Cheater. I really look hot. Cheater is correct. I'm not a cheater. I did it for Sean. P1 Kim. Everyone's attracted to different things. Oh, jerk. Just saying. Some people, African Americans. Oh, wow. Hello. Some people, mascots. Oh, that is correct. That is not correct, actually. Well, then why did you just say it's not correct? There was one of us. Because I said it's not. Oh, okay. One of us spoke up very quickly. Oh, yeah. To defend their furry honor. Oh, yeah. P1 Kim? Yes. One, two, or three point question. Two point question, please. You got it. Breathe. You got it. What were the two movies that we watched during the 28-hour show? Oh, goodness. Easy. Easy. Kim? I'm sorry. I don't know that. P1 minivan. The answer, by the way... It was Titanic and Rocky III. That is correct. P1 minivan? Wrap it up, Mike. Let's do this. You want a three-pointer? What singer appeared on the 28-hour show and offered to donate $500 to Children's Hospital? This year? This year. This is the guy who's staying with you? I can't give you any help.
I can't give you any help. I don't know, Mike. The answer to that question, Bo Bice. Bo Bice. You can't see me right now, but I'm mouthing Bo Bice to you. Bo Bice. Bo Bice. Let's see. P1, Kim. You got to get on the board, Kim. You got one point. I'd like to try another two-point. A two-pointer. Put it on the board. Come on. Your two-point question is, what is Mikey's wife's name? Rebecca. That is correct. That should be a one-point. Or Rebecca. Rebecca. Rebecca. Rebecca. Rebecca. So, it looks like P1 Kim is in the lead with three points, minivan. What are you going to do? Let's try and wrap it up again. Yeah. Let's take her. Yes.
The question is, what does Eddie say happens to him when he eats pineapple? What does he do? What does Eddie do when he eats pineapple at home? Breaks out in hives? I don't know. Yep, that's true. That is incorrect. Banana. What Eddie does is he pretends that he is alone on a deserted island eating pineapple. Absolutely. Try it at home, kids. Each and every time that he has pineapple, this is what he does. P1 Kim. Give me another two-pointer. Wow, you can wrap it up right here with a two-point question. Still on the reverse guy. I like it. Comeback of the century. Your two-point question is, what member of the show is big into yoga? Ashley. That is correct. Minivan, I will allow you in as well because you did pretty good, man. You did pretty good.
Not as good as P1 Kim. I can't be as good as her. But you did pretty good. Hey, Kim, I'm pretty impressed. You had half the time listening. You did all right. Thank you very much, Mike. Hang on the line, okay? Okay. It's P1 Kim. She did pretty good. I need to take a quick time out. However, when we come back, Sky has Blender Magazine's worst songs ever list. To improve mileage, come by Chevron and fill up with air. That's right, air.
When was the last time you checked the air pressure in your tires? Can't remember? Then it's definitely been too long. Did you know even tires in good shape can lose about one pound of pressure a month? And underinflated tires make your engine work harder, lowering your mileage. But don't overinflate them. You can usually find the recommended tire pressure on a sticker located on the driver's side door jamb. And speaking of air, air conditioning is not so hot for your car's mileage either. Whenever you turn it on, it puts an added strain on your engine. Now, at highway speeds, it's probably better to use the AC rather than roll down the windows because of the aerodynamics. But around town, enjoy the fresh air. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com. Taco Bell's new triple steak burrito. Steak layered with steak then loaded with more grilled marinated steak. Fire roasted salsa and cheese. It's one burrito with a whole lot of steak. The ones about teaching marriage in schools, they're absolutely not true, says California's superintendent of public schools. Major funding from No on 8, Equality California, and Human Rights Campaign. HRC California Marriage Pack. No on Prop 8. Sorry, Seth. Nobody went with him on that one.
Yeah, Pink says that she's a total control freak and it's really hard for her to let go. So sometimes to not be such a control freak, she like gets wasted just so she's like not in control. Sounds like a really healthy way to deal with your control issues. Yeah, it gives her mind a little bit of a break from working overtime. Me too. And so she said she was kind of concerned about it. So she went to her, you know, went to see a therapist saying she thinks she may be an alcoholic. And then the doctor said, well, when was the last time? Why is Sean playing that? Honestly, I don't know why. We're talking about pink. I am ignoring it. So she says to the doctor, I think I'm an alcoholic. And the doctor says, well, when was your last drink? Yeah. And I don't know if it was you I talked to or one of the other gals. If I'm ever awake and up and about at 7 o'clock on a weeknight, I'll swing by. But most likely I'm already in my PJs, already half sleep in bed. Oh, Sky. Sky. But if I am out and about. Sky. Yeah. Let's say that you could do this, right? Like it was conducive with your schedule. Okay. Could you actually get in there and like be rough and knock other chicks over on roller skates? No, not at all. No chance. No way? No, I talked to my husband about it for a second and he laughed at me. And that's when he told me I needed to play competitive checkers instead. Yeah. I think it would be great if Sky did it, but then I was like, she'd have to get in there and be rough. No, I couldn't. But I'll try and swing by sometime if I'm out and about. It's very sweet of you guys. Donald Jabroth. Like you should talk, Sean. Mikey Show. Hello. Mikey? Yes. P-H-I to the L-L-Y. Ladies and gentlemen, P1, Philly's Finest is online. What are you talking about? Rob, hurt, sadness, and fear. Just remember, hurt, sadness, and fear. My season's done, dude. I got nothing to worry about until April. And that song, it didn't put anything bad on me, so don't you come bringing that evil on me. Yeah, dude. You know the gods are not fleeting with a bad vibe like that. There's no bad vibes, the Razor and the World Series. It would go against Rob, not your team, Philly's Finest. You're fine. Are you sure? I'm positive. Look at this guy. He's all way ahead. You're looking out for number one all the time. Thank you, Philly's Finest. I trust you, Oracle. Thank you. This guy. P1 Robert's on the line. Hello, Robert. Hello, Robert. Hello, Robert. Hello.
