Mikey described his father's frightening return to the hospital, while a 19-year-old caller revealed that his parents learned about his secret marriage to a pregnant 40-year-old woman. Eddie analyzed Brock Lesnar's UFC title win, and guests Tiki Barber and Sean Merriman argued that discipline, healthy depth, and tiny execution errors explain major swings in football. The crew also turned Sean's neon headphones, Boston Rob's earthquake scare, Sky's Roman shower, and a debate over classic music videos into extended comedy. They criticized the Padres' salary dump, marveled at a prisoner's escape inside a stationery box, and replayed Donovan McNabb discovering that NFL games can end in ties.
What happened, in order
Sean's neon headphones
The crew relentlessly mocked Sean's bulky neon-green Panasonic headphones as antique, distracting, and wildly below broadcast standard.
Mikey's father in the hospital
Mikey explained that his father returned to the hospital with heart symptoms because fear kept him from taking prescribed nitroglycerin promptly.
The ghost was an earthquake
Boston Rob mistook an early-morning earthquake at his fiancee's home for a ghost shaking the entire house.
McNabb learns about ties
Donovan McNabb admitted after Philadelphia's tie with Cincinnati that he had not known an NFL regular-season game could end tied.
Lesnar stops Couture
Brock Lesnar stopped Randy Couture in the second round to become UFC heavyweight champion, almost exactly as Eddie had predicted.
Tiki Barber on discipline
Tiki Barber discussed his demanding workout philosophy, the ball-carrying change that nearly eliminated his fumbles, and why the Chargers lacked healthy depth.
Merriman diagnoses the Chargers
Injured linebacker Sean Merriman said San Diego's one-point loss came down to a few small mistakes and described how rain and old artificial turf punish players.
A startling family announcement
A 19-year-old caller told his parents that he had secretly married his 40-year-old wife and that she was pregnant, prompting anger and possible disownment.
Escape in a stationery box
A German prisoner hid inside a stationery shipment, escaped from the delivery truck, and remained on the loose.
Greatest music videos
The hosts argued over their favorite music videos, championing clips by Van Halen, Beastie Boys, Michael Jackson, A-ha, Aaliyah, Guns N' Roses, and others.
Padres fire-sale anger
The crew criticized the Padres for trying to shed Jake Peavy's salary and argued that ownership was breaking its promise to field a competitive team.
The Roman shower
Sky's sincere praise of La Costa's spa and its high-pressure Roman shower collapsed into nonstop innuendo from the rest of the crew.

Thank you. Welcome to the program, everybody.
It's the Mikey Show. It is 6.06. Wildfires are burning in four counties in Southern California. More than 800 homes have been lost, and a total of 34 square miles have been burned. While the Chargers somehow give another one away, letting the Steelers kick a last-second field goal to win 11-10, Norv Turner says, we are who we thought they were. The way they had played, their style of football, the way we're playing, I thought it would be a field position, you know, physical game, highly competitive game, and it was all those things.
Eddie, let me ask you a question. What do you feel? I can't even say it. You know what I mean? I mean, Eddie has already made his statement on this. What are you going to do? You know what I mean? It's a rough one today. It's a rough one. I mean, talk about the deflating for these guys. It's just deflating. What a beautiful sunny weather over there in Pittsburgh, too, right? I mean, gorgeous day. It definitely looked like football, you know, like when I was a kid and I would watch it for first of all, when I was a boy.
When I was a kid, there was no such thing as satellite TV where you could get all the different games. So, you know, you usually got a game and that was about it. And if it was a game where there was snow involved, that was the coolest thing, you know, when I was a kid. And yesterday it was it was some blustery weather out there in Pittsburgh. Oh, yeah, that's for sure. Welcome to the program. It's the Mikey Show, and we'd love to open the phones up to you and just let you call in about anything you want at 570-1053. That's the phone number, and there are seven of us, so let me get to introducing so you know who the show is, especially if you're new, listening to the Mikey Show, and your
friends have said, you've got to listen to this show. What, Eddie? Have you seen Sean? No. Yeah. Oh, my. Okay. It's awesome. All right. What is? It is awesome. It's what it is. Is he an alien? What is this? I mean, what is going on with this guy? already. What is he doing? You just think he was going to waltz in here. What is he doing? I just looked into the camera and saw our sound effects guy who we have to look at on a camera. I have not changed my appearance. The hair is the same. The facial hair is the same.
The shirt, the same. Yeah. I think what Eddie may have been referring to was the little neon green headphones you've got on. I don't know what you're talking about. that I think are from 1962. No, that's not true. Is that the model that those are? No, no, no. They're brand new. Oh. But they look. I was having trouble with the other ones, so I thought, well, you know. What brand? What brand? What brand? I believe, hold on. Koss. Panasonic. Koss with a K. They're Panasonic. No, Panasonic.
Did you go into a store and try on different ones until you found what you liked? Yes, I did, Mike. Really? Yeah. Wow. They must have been out of the Sonys. That's all I can think. Well, no. The Sonys were there. I put them on, and they sounded like tin cans. So I thought, well, yeah, it's the same sound as it's always been. It's awful, tinny, no isolation whatsoever. So they would be terrible for broadcasts. Yeah, he said it. I mean, I guess he put them on. He listened to them for a second and said, well, that sounds like broadcast standard. I would say broadcast substandard.
So then I tried on these Panasonic. And you got home and opened the box, and that's what was in it? Yeah, exactly. So you get to take that back? I blessed your seat. I mean, my guess is that Panasonic, they're very well known for making cordless phones. So those headphones, they should have a great, great sound to them, and I totally get it. I understand why you went the Panasonic route. Those are electric, literally.
They're really good. They're really good. They have great isolation. Neon green. Did he choose that color? The frequency response is great. Was there a color choice, Sean? No, I have some color choice. I actually wanted black, but they didn't have any more. That would be cooler. That's all they had. My camera's not working. Oh, wait until you see this, Ash. My camera's not working. You're missing out. You're missing out. They're not missing anything. They're regular headphones. They're not regular headphones. It's so distracting. I don't know that I can do the show today. Oh, stop it. I'm not kidding. Come on. Little neon green headphones. They're normal.
Something else. Look at those. They're like the old kind. You know those old clunky? Yeah, they do. Goofy clunky ones? They really look like the kind that, you know. They actually have a very modern look to them. That like Venus Flight Trap would have used. Yes. No. That's it, dude. Seriously. I think Sean bought Dr. Demento's headphones on eBay. And he's not telling us? And he's not telling us. Those are great. I like them. Good call, dude. Those are autographed by Wolfman Jack. Yes. And he got them at an antique store. Sean has a straight face right now.
Like, he's just looking at us emotionless. What do you want me to say? They're bringing you out of the box. What do you want me to say? Marconi thinks those are old. Oh, that's fantastic. Okay, we're freaking out. No need to freak out. No. Wow. That was something else. Oh, my gosh. We should probably move on. Yes, we should. Yeah, we should. Well, I'm the host of the program. My name's Mikey. And stop it, you. And I am 38 years of age. And I'm excited about Thanksgiving this year. Last year, I wasn't.
I didn't want to cook. I didn't want to. I didn't want any part of it. This year, I'm fine with it. You're cooking? Yeah, yeah. I got to cook each time. I do it now. You know, because we do it at my house. And I feel it's wrong to have my mom do it if everybody's coming over. If it was somebody else's house, forget it. I'm not touching that stove. In fact, you know, I think that that may be the general rule. If it's at your place, you got to do it, right? Or is that not the deal?
If it's your folks, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I wish I could do that, turn it over to them. And it was a weird weekend for me because, you know, my dad is back in the hospital. You know, he's had that heart issue and it's still going on, man. And, you know, part of it's his deal. It's his fault because he doesn't take that nitroglycerin when he's supposed to. Really? Yeah, when he gets pain, he's supposed to take it. And he doesn't because, you know, I really had a really, really good talk with him this time. Yeah.
And I got to the bottom of it. And what it came down to was fear. He's afraid that if he's taken that pill, it means something's bad. He's afraid to admit to himself that something bad is going on. So he tries to talk himself into, it's okay. It's just, I'm just, you know, maybe I'm just not indigestion. I'm not feeling good or something. So he goes through this process. But what I told him is, I said, when you do that, when you go through that process, you're doing damage to your heart. It's getting injured. And he said that the nurse told him something that he said, for whatever reason, nurse, for whatever reason, when she said it, it really stuck with him.
She said, you know, you're a marked man. And for whatever reason, that terminology like really struck him and like freaked him out. I said, good. I'm glad she said it because she asked him, why did you not come in earlier? And he said, well, I wanted to wait and see if it would get better. And she said, you're a marked man. And he was like, ooh, kind of, you know, was eerie to him. And so, hopefully, he'll start taking that stuff when he's supposed to take it, you know? So, what's the next step for him? He had to stay there overnight.
Okay. Because they wanted to make sure that, you know, they can monitor him and all that stuff. And so, they're going to run. They're running. a lot of tests, and one of the things that they're worried about with him is he's got really, really low, his blood pressure's real low, but they had to stick this nitroglycerin cream on his chest on a little patch that soaks in to his skin, and the job of that nitroglycerin is to open up your blood vessel so it flows smoother, so that's a reason there. you know they already know well that's part of it why uh but they want to run some tests and make
sure that that is why and that it's not something else um and it's weird you know you don't go into the hospital clutching your chest even if you have a history of heart attacks and them say you had a heart attack it doesn't work that way which i didn't know i thought if you go in there you got certain symptoms you're good to go they say to you you had a heart attack but that's not the way it works. The way that it works is they have to take your blood and when, and they look for enzymes in your blood to be present. And then even that isn't the final word on it. They combine that with questions that they ask you, which he's not very good at.
My dad is not like they say to him, what did it feel like? And he says, Oh, it hurt. No, no, no. A little more descriptive. Yes, please. What kind of pain was it? Oh, it was real bad yeah and i step in and i go dad was it a sharp pain was it a dull pain was it a oh yeah yeah yeah it was a sharp pain you know so you have to spell all that out for the doc so they take all that into consideration they said he didn't have a heart attack uh but they're trying to figure out what it is you know he has this real intense pain in the back of his neck and that's what happened
the first time he had a heart attack oh really i've never heard that a pain in the back of your neck i didn't either wow i never heard that but he said yeah that's what was going on when he had his now he did have a heart attack last year on the fourth of july it was a heart attack uh and so they're you know looking into it they'll figure it out hopefully um so anyway hopefully dad's gonna be good and he was you know he's funny i went down there and saw him at the hospital yesterday and he was already making plans with me for this week that he wants you know stuff that he wants to do so uh yeah yeah hopefully he'll be all good yeah eddie is our producer and our sports
guy and he is 35 years of age i'm gonna go around and introduce everybody boom boom boom real quick so you have a view of who the show is and then we'll dive in start getting into stuff and i want you on the phones 570-1053 call us right now doesn't matter what the area code is if you dial that number works with all the area codes 570-1053 and uh text us 35253 that's our text number in fact we're already getting some texts i'll read those to you in here in just a second uh sky is our news girl she's 31 years old and she's drinking her coffee from a little tiny sippy straw
It's the kind that you stir the coffee with. It's meant for stirring. She uses it as an actual straw. Every day. So I still have coffee left once we hit 1030. Oh, she does. It's cold by then. Yeah, it's the same cup of coffee. She keeps drinking it, though. It's me. Sean is the guy with the little green headphones on. Those are so rad, Sean. Aren't they awesome? Gosh, I want a pair. Do they have them in pink? Of course you do. Do they have them in pink? Of course you do. I'll find out for you. Please, because we can be twins. Hopefully we can both wear the same kind. That'd be cool. I would love that.
That'd be sick. Yeah. They sound awesome, too. Ashley is our assistant producer. She's 25 years of age. And is Mommy growing her hair out? Is Mommy going to let her hair grow for a while? Or do you? What's going on? I love your hair. I think it looks really good. I've been growing it out. It's a long, it's a slow process to grow it out. Because I get it trimmed like every five weeks. I'm doing it like the healthy way. But I'm trying to grow it out, growing out the bangs. Yeah, for winter. If you want to see what Ashley looks like, go to MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W. She's 25 years old.
She is a singer. Oh, no. Thank you. Wow. She sings. Impressive. I hear it. Somebody said that I jumped out my heart with a shock when I get shocked at the hospital by the doctor when I'm not cooperating, when I'm rocking the table while he's off already. Hey, you would have disarmed us all the way. No, you're more like rapping. In Portugal, she's so popular. That's right.
She can't even walk the streets of that. I don't. That city. Where it is. Austin Robb is our man about town. Yeah. Oh, all right. He's a singer-songwriter. He's our man on the street. And he really does it all. and he is 25 years of age, engaged to be married. Yeah. And in terms of that, you know, we're where you are. Right. Okay? So if you're listening in your car right now and you've never met Rob before, you know, we're where you are.
You know, we're just kind of, we're waiting on that one. Keep everybody on the same playing field, Mike. That's right. You know? He believes in equality, and so he doesn't want just his friends to know when he's going to get married. Right. He wants everyone to not know when he's going to get married. So, you know, there's a quality there, you know. Stranger to Rob. And then finally, there is the artist formerly known as Sir Roosevelt Zethian Oates III, Esquire, M.D., DDS, President, and CEO. As seen on TV.
Yeah. Zeth. He's famous. Zethian Oates. He is our phone screener and does a variety of tasks off the air and likes the UFC. And we will be talking about the UFC coming up here in just a bit, too, because it was a big UFC weekend. Some text messages we're getting. Mike, did you guys feel the earthquake at 438 this morning? That's P1 Sparky. I did not. I did. You did, Rob?
100%. That was the first one. Have you never felt one before? Uh-uh. I didn't know we had one. It freaked me out because now when I get ready at my fiance's place, I've been listening because I've been hearing noises. She has a cat, so I used to think, you know, everything was this cat, but the cat will occasionally come into her bed and go to sleep, you know, when I kind of get up and start doing stuff. Yeah. So I'm pretty sure her place is haunted, and this morning, I'm not kidding, dude. Like, I hear noises, and there's nobody else doing anything in the house. And it's all upstairs, and my fiance won't talk.
Turns out it's been an earthquake this whole time. But this morning... The earthquake lives upstairs. No, this morning I had to wake her up, because I was like, the ghost is shaking the entire house, and I'm freaking out. Yeah. Casper. The ghost is shaking the entire house. Because it felt like someone shook the house, and I'm always hearing stuff upstairs. Sean, you don't believe in ghosts? Come on, dude. Ghostbusters, dude. I mean, I had enough. I don't believe in ghosts. It's just the ghost shaking the whole house. Well, usually what I hear is upstairs, it sounds like someone is taking like a box full of stuff and dropping it.
So the upstairs will shake a little bit. Talk to me about that documentary you saw. Ghostbusters? Yeah, Ghostbusters. He saw this documentary. So scary. It's these guys, right? That's a hard one. It's a reality. It only happened in New York, though. It's a documentary, but they only do it in New York. But maybe, well, maybe one of these days somebody will open that business here in San Diego. We'll be good to go. Yeah. You know what I mean? They need to. If I had the equipment, I'd do it. But I don't have any of those ectoplasma things. Yeah. The oscillator and all that stuff. Otherwise, yeah. Be a good business.
Don't bust the streams. Yeah. Weird. Morning Mikey show. It's my 27th birthday today. Oh, happy birthday. That's right. Awesome. I've been at work for an hour and no one has said anything. Oh, that's the worst. That's P1 Tommy. Horrendous. You guys in Tommy's office, it's Tommy's birthday. Yeah. It's his birthday. Figure it out. Mikey, maybe along with a new head coach, the Chargers need a new kicker. Kading is so unreliable. What do you think, Oracle?
That's P1. What's hampooning? You know, he missed an important field goal yesterday. That sucks. But is he normally? But Nate's one of the best kickers in the league. I thought he was normally. Last year, you know, obviously one of the best seasons ever as a kicker. And, you know, he's been a little off this year, no doubt about it. But, you know, I think he's better than 99% of the kickers in the league. So, let's all relax. Another text here for Eddie. This one says, hey, Eddie, isn't Wall E coming out tomorrow on DVD? Oh, my gosh.
Why are you asking Eddie? I don't do the new releases. Oh, no, you do. Starting tomorrow. Starting tomorrow. I do know that Top of Thunder is coming out tomorrow. Hang on a second. It's obviously his deal. It's obviously Eddie's deal. Wait a second here. It's obviously Eddie's deal. Great movie. Wait a second. Can't wait for it. So I can't wait for Eddie to tell us all about that tomorrow. Not going to happen. P1 Kyler. Kyler, are you there? I've never heard of a Kyler, by the way. No. I've heard of Tyler. Is that right?
P1 Andy. Andy, you there? Yes, I'm here. Hey, man. Tell everybody what a P1 is. If you want someone who gets straight to the point, listen to the Mikey show exclusively and doesn't cuss. Right on. Go ahead, dude. I got a question for Eddie. Go ahead. What do you think that the overtime should be in football if no one scores after the five minutes? So you're just kind of the tie? Yeah, that's what it is right now.
It doesn't bother me at all. I mean, what do you want to have happen? Start off from the 40-yard line. Each team gets four plays. Whoever scores the most, or if both teams get a field goal, it just keeps going. So you want it to be like college footballs over time? Yeah. Oh, okay. Hey, are you saying that because of the tie in the NFL yesterday? Yes, I'm a big Bengals fan. Yeah, sorry. The Bengals and the Eagles ended their game in a tie. Yeah, it's the first time there was a tie in the NFL since 2002.
Wow. So it rarely happens. I don't think they need to change anything. It doesn't happen very often. Does it ever affect the playoffs? I mean, like I said, you're lucky to get a tie every, you know, five, ten years. So it usually doesn't. It doesn't. No, I mean, and I doubt it will this year either. I heard this clip of Donovan McNabb on SportsCenter. He didn't know that worked. We have it. We got it? Cup 37. What? Oh. You know, it's part of the rules, and we have to go with it.
So, you know, I was looking forward to the next opportunity of getting out there and trying to drive to win the game. But, unfortunately, with the rules, you know, we settled with a tie. Did you say the game was ever one in Denver? Well, when the play was called, you know, I kind of figured that I guess there's ties in the NFL. No, I didn't know that. Yeah, in college, there's multiple overtimes. I mean, high school and Pop Warner. I never knew in a professional race that it would kind of end that way. I hate to see what happens in the Super Bowl or hate to see what happens in the playoffs.
I just started with a tie. He did. He just found, hey, I'm finding out. I'm just finding out, you know. There is no ties in the playoffs. So what would they do in the playoffs? They continue to go into another additional overtime until there's a winner. Eddie's telling him that on the side of the stage or the podium. And he's like, what? Send him a letter or something. How did I not know that? Hey, man, the Oracle just told me that that don't work that way. I don't have anything to worry about. It's true. Oracle says I'm good.
I just found out about safeties today. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I guess if you tackle me in the end zone, the other team gets two points, man. I didn't know. That's the deal. I didn't know. Wow. But you've played for a long time. I know, man. I saw the ref make the sign for it one time. I thought he was like Christina Aguilera fan. He was like, I'm a genie. No, that's not. That's really cute. Well, okay. Probably sit you down and have a conversation. About the rules, right?
About a lot of stuff, apparently. Maybe he should Wikipedia it or something. Donovan McNabb starts Wikipedia-ing rules. Football. Yes, he types in football first. And then NFL rules. Wow. P1 Tyler. Tyler, are you there? Uh-oh. What the heck? No, Tyler. 5701053 is the number. First Kyler, now Tyler. What's up? Kyler and Tyler. That's pretty weird. And then our text number is 35253 if you want to call us. So, yeah, give us a call. Obama was on 60 Minutes last night.
Oh, so good, Mike. Yeah, Skye says in her yesterday email. Oh, I love him so much. She says, didn't know it was possible, but I fell even more in love with Obama this weekend. Obama. She says, I watched the documentary Center Obama Goes to Africa and watched the Obamas on 60 Minutes last night. Yeah, they're the best. She really loves them a lot. So good, Mike. Yeah, I missed it. It's like real people. I would have liked to have seen it. I love the way they talk.
Just like normal people, normal husband and wife stuff. Yeah? Yeah, different from what I've seen with any of the other presidents. What? You don't think the other presidents talk normal? No. How do they talk? You know, like, you know, the guy doing the interview was asking about the mother-in-law and the dog. And Obama's like, dude, I don't know what you do in your house, but don't put the dog and my mother-in-law in the same sentence. Are you trying to get me in trouble? And, you know, he's in the middle of a sentence, and his wife cuts him off. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're just normal. We saw a preview tonight on 60 Minutes, and they showed a clip, and my wife goes,
they seem like really nice people. Yeah. Yeah, they do. They seem like nice people. Mm-hmm. For sure. I loved it. I wouldn't have, you know, it wasn't my choice for him to be elected. All right. You know, the thing I thought about it was, where's the tough questions, though? But, you know, where's the questions about, like, hey, now that you're president, man, that stuff that's going on in the nation of Georgia is pretty tough. So what do you think? You know, you for their sovereignty or against it? Well, they did talk Iraq and economy and the auto industry. I mean, you know, it was a limited amount of time.
And, you know, of course, 60 Minutes is, you know, I mean, it's news, but it's also entertainment. So, of course, they're going to talk about the family dog and the girls moving to schools. So it was a little bit of everything. Yeah, they really, here's one of the tougher questions. Oh, stop. Take away the haterade, bro. It's over. He's a great guy. Just accept it. Stop hating and just love, okay? I have a tough question they asked him. You're so dumb. Cut six. I have one last question. As president of the United States, what can you do or what do you plan to do about getting a college football playoff for the national championship?
This is important. I know it. Look, excuse me for a second. Yes, please. Don't mind me. I think any sensible person would say that if you've got a bunch of teams who play throughout the season, and many of them have one loss or two losses, there's no clear, decisive winner, that we should be creating a playoff system. Eight teams. That would be three rounds to determine a national champion. It would add three extra weeks to the season.
You could trim back on the regular season. I don't know any serious fan of college football who has disagreed with me on this. So I'm going to throw my weight around a little bit. I think it's the right thing to do. Hard hitting. Wow. Well, listen, here's my thoughts on this one, Skee-Ball. If that had been McCain, they would have been tearing this guy a new one. Let's hear what you're going to do. Talk to me about this. Talk to me about that. Well, because I don't think McCain, how do I say this?
Ay, ay, ay. Like, McCain doesn't have any personality. Like, you know, people want to talk to Obama about his kids and about his feelings on football. Then they just wouldn't want to talk to McCain about that stuff. But McCain doesn't really have any, he didn't have anything to give. He hasn't opened up that side of himself, so. they have nothing to go off of except for politics. Now, wait a minute. It's not that they're left, right? That wouldn't be it. It wouldn't be that 60 Minutes and all those shows that they're lefties and so they want to lob the softballs. Take a personal tidbit from the McCain campaign and form a question for me.
What would you ask him? What personal tidbit about McCain? On 60 Minutes? What personal tidbit did you learn about McCain through his campaign and that you want to ask him about? I think that you're proving your own point. Man, if he's not very good at that, let's hear it. Hey, tell us about your family. You know, I didn't really know a lot about your family when you guys were on the campaign trail. Tell me about your family. Okay. Yeah, maybe they would have. I don't know. Hey, listen. I know when the media had a chance at Sarah Palin. Tell us about the sovereignty of the nation of Georgia. You know, it was that kind of stuff.
Well, because she's a dummy, Mike. All along. Yeah, this is hot. All along. That is true. I'll tell you what, this is not the first time that I've heard this question asked to President-elect Barack Obama. The first time he was asked was when he was on Monday Night Football. And McCain was asked the same exact question. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. And had a horrible answer. I guess my point is, I guess my point is, is that that Barack Obama, he gets the softballs, you know, because people really dig him. Rightfully so.
I think people want to know about his personal life. I don't think that's a softball. Well, listen. Yeah, Palin didn't have any personality and a really interesting personal life. And they asked her about that. There was a lot of talk about her children and all of that. It was involved about her children being pregnant. Yeah, and her child with Down syndrome. Yeah, it wasn't cool questions. Well, but that's her life. I mean, that's her life. I'm sorry Obama's kids aren't pregnant and don't have special needs. Sky, you're so one-sided. i think obama i'm one-sided i think we just love that it was a cool interview listen i think obama gets softballs for sure and if you're saying it's because of his personality dude's got a good

enough room. Sky ran out of room writing down all the stuff. I mean, we're out of space. We have this board, and at the bottom, the writing's really small. Yeah. We're out of space, everything that's on the show today. First of all, when we come back, Eddie's going to run down the scores in the NFL and who won, who lost. Awesome! Also, we are going to have Tiki Barber on the show today. Oh, yes. I can't wait to talk to Tiki Barber. I think he's an extremely interesting guy. Guy that went from just absolutely dominating in the NFL. And now he's doing pretty good as a TV guy.
And he's got a twin brother. Sean Merriman will be on the show today. We're going to be asking him about yesterday. He must hate doing these things. Seriously. He must hate having to come on the show and like, oh, gosh, can we have a win so I can talk to these guys? Let's see. We're going to get a worry ward update, find out all those people that have all the trippy stuff happening this weekend that they were tripped out about. We'll find out how it all went. Did Brock Lesnar win or did Randy Couture continue to dominate at 745 years of age? The answer when we come back. The Mikey Show Stand-Up Spotlight on Rock 105.3. Reading's hard. You ever try that?
I read good. Goodly. But I hate when you're trying to read something and you come across the expression, one thing led to another. What in the hell kind of lazy writing is that? Isn't that your job as the writer to tell me how this led to that? You can just throw that in there? Adolf Hitler was rejected as a young man in his application to art school. One thing led to another. And the United States dropped two atomic bombs on the sovereign nation of Japan.
This is so pamphlet! What's a P-1? P-1 is someone that turns down their radio, they get to the point, they don't cuss, and they listen to the Mikey Show exclusively. That is correct. It is... 6.43. Lindsay Lohan's girlfriend, DJ Samantha Ronson, posted an angry blog this weekend after Lindsay was pelted with flour by anti-fur protesters. There's a dynasty in NASCAR. El Cajon's Jimmy Johnson wins his third straight championship, equaling Cale Yarborough's record. Jimmy talks about winning the title. What a special year. I'm so proud of this race team and the fight this race team had in it. We got off to a slow start and really worked hard to get back in the championship form. So I'm very proud of all of Hendrick Motorsports.
Can't thank my teammates enough. Lowe's and all their support, Cobalt Tools. I have to thank the fans. The fans have been amazing for me and the sport. And I have to congratulate Chevrolet on their Manufacturer's Championship as well. It's an awful special year in a lot of ways, and I can't believe we're part of history. I'm going to take a tire off and make it fair. The guy wins all the time, man. They're saying he may be the best driver of all time. Are you serious? Yeah, on three straight titles. That's pretty impressive. I was at... CVS last night, I had to get a little thumb drive, and
I knew that Jimmy Johnson had won the championship because there was a guy in the CVS speaking on his cell phone really loudly. And he was going, who even cares about the Chargers, man? Because Jimmy Johnson is from San Diego, and he won three. Never been done! He was shouting. He was shouting. He was shouting. Oh, I was going to say inside voice. He was shouting. He yelled back, yes, it has been done. Yes. I wish I would have known that it had been done.
570-1053 is our phone number. And so before we went to break, I said that we were going to find out who won the big UFC fight this weekend. Between young, gigantic, massive Brock Lesnar, or was it Randy Couture, who is 117, but just somehow finds a way to get it done. Who won on Friday? Eddie said, sorry, all of you, Randy Couture.
Oh, Randy's going to do it. Randy's going to do it, fans. But I believe Brock Lesnar will win. What happened? Cut 29. Just past the midway point of round two. Heavyweight title. And Couture is down. Lesnar is trying to finish. Brock Lesnar climbing away on Randy Couture. Randy trying to survive. He's a short-term shot. He hit the head all over. Rob Lesnar is the new UFC heavyweight champion of the world. Eddie, did you call Dionne Warwick's Psychic Friends Network on Friday morning
to find out what was going to happen? This is even crazier, is that anybody that asked me, what do you think is going to go down? How is it going to go down? And even my wife, right before the fight happened, I said, I think they're going to wrestle around and be in the clinch for the first round. Nothing's really going to happen. Second round, Brock is going to catch him with a punch. He's going to jump on top of him and ground and pound him to win. Holy cow, that's what happened. That's exactly what happened. And I'm usually wrong about how it goes down, so I kind of have to toot my own horn on this one. You know, Brock is a freak.
He's a freak in nature. Wow, is that a compliment? It is 100% a compliment. 265 pounds, guy moves around like 155 pounds. He is outrageous. He is way too much of a man for a guy that's 220 pounds. It doesn't make any sense, you know, how big the heavyweight division is. I mean, because that's a 50-pound weight difference. It'd be like BJ Penn fighting Chuck Liddell. Like, it wouldn't be fair. And so, you know, I mean, he's just too massive. I mean, Randy had no chance. And I kept telling people that, and they're like, oh, no, Randy comes up with the best strategies. I'm like, really?
What was his strategy when he got knocked out twice by Chuck Liddell? To stand there and get punched in the face? It's like a strategy. Randy, I give him all the credit in the world. The guy is a Hall of Famer. He's an amazing guy. But Brock Lesnar is legit. He is disgusting how crazy big that guy is. Well, I had to tape it and I was watching it. And I said to my wife, I go, that Brock Lesnar actually looks like, I mean, not his facial features or anything, his body. He looks like a gorilla.
He does. He looks like an ape. He's so massive. He's gigantic. He's massive and really scary looking, really, really scary looking. I can't imagine another person agreeing to physically altercate with this guy. And, you know, he did exactly what you said he was going to do. He beat, I guess, he beat Randy. Now, is Randy done now?
So he now retired? I think Randy is probably going to have a couple more fights left in him, like big super fights. I don't know against who he's kind of fought everybody. I'm sure he's still holding out hope that he's signed Fedor for a one-fight deal and those kind of things. But, Randy, the guy is still in crazy phenomenal shape, and he still is a good fighter. I mean, it really is impossible for a 220-pound guy to beat Brock Lesnar. It's just not going to happen. Well, I think that they should allow gorillas into the UFC. That would be a fight.
Or like a grizzly bear or something. A grizzly bear. That'd be fair. I would love to see that. That would be a fair fight if they allowed grizzlies. That's not a fighting chance, you know. Our text number is 35253. Mikey, I'm really glad we elect personality over qualifications. That's P1 Maddie. No one said that. I believe it's American Idol, he asked me. I think that the presidency is American Idol. Yeah, I agree with that. You know what I'm saying? Hey, Mikey, did anybody watch Family Guy last night? They did a thing with the grape stomping clip that you guys played. Oh, no way.
Dude, I told my fiance last night. Every week, there's something from our show on that show. Yeah. Every single week. I think somebody's at P1 that is working up in L.A. Well, Al told me, my brother told me, I think it was two summers ago, that in the off-season, one of the writers for Family Guy was working at SeaWorld with him as like a summer part-time job. It was something like he enjoyed, you know what I mean, to like work with the animals. And I think he still listens to the show because I was like, it's too weird that every week and it's like, you know, it's like a two week delay. Like, we'll play it for two weeks and then it hits their show.
It's kind of true. And I'm like, like, I freaked out and gave her a speech about it. I was like, no, you have to listen to this. I'm sure she laughed. Because I held it in for the first like three, four weeks of the season. And now I'm like, no, they're doing that. Uh-uh. Yeah. You guys, I have a confession. I've been writing for a family guy. I had no idea. I didn't want to... Ashley's been writing about horror. No, I didn't want you guys to get jealous. I was the whole time. But, you know, on this side... You're really good.
That's amazing. You are really, really good. You should have told us. You know. I'm going to sue you. Mikey, I won some UFC tickets a few weeks back and just wanted to say thank you. I had a blast. That's P1. I love me some me. Wow. Awesome. Let's see. Mikey, tell Sky that wrinkles will be created through drinking through that small of a straw. That's P1 Jacob. Jacob is 100% right. I'm going to get the smoker wrinkles. No sleep too. You know, smokers, if you're a smoker, you get little wrinkles because you're always puckering your mouth around the cigarette.
That's not true. It is true. It's fast. It's an urban legend. It is not. Oh, this ruins everything. You learned that in the kitchen, get out of here. Start stirring your coffee with a regular straw, and you're fine. That will give you a bigger wrinkle zone. Just put a garden hose in it. All right, we will give you the answer to this next text message when we come back, as well as talk to Sean Merriman. Here's the question. Hey, Eddie, was that you at Grossmont watching Quantum of Solace with your wife on Saturday morning?

In the night, I hear them talk. The coldest story ever told. Number one downloaded song on iTunes right now is Kanye. The song's called Heartless. To a woman so heartless. Welcome back. It's 6.59. 20,000 people marched in downtown San Diego this weekend for equality for same-sex couples.
The Giants have improved to 9-1 on the season, crushing the Ravens yesterday at 30-10. Eli Manning says the team has improved. Well, we came in this season knowing we had to become a better team. We had to be more consistent, and I think we've done that. We've eliminated a lot of the big mistakes. We're running the ball tremendously. The offensive line is playing great. Our defense is getting turnovers and putting us in good situations. And the pass game is just being efficient and getting first downs and doing what we've got to do. So, you know, it's just fun going out there and playing. We have great confidence, and we're making plays and putting ourselves in a good position to win games. We got a text message before we went to break from a listener that wanted to know if Eddie went to the movie this weekend and saw Quantum of Solace because they thought they spotted him at the movie.
And they wanted to know what he thought of it, and we're going to answer that question coming up here in just a few minutes. Also, number 56, Sean Merriman, weekly contributor here on the Mikey Show, will be on the program within minutes. But first, Tiki Barber is on the line. Tiki, are you there? I am. What's happening, guys? Dude, I am really excited to talk to you, man, because you are one of these rare individuals that was, you were kind of blessed with a few different things. And that's pretty cool. Tiki has a new workout book out called Tiki Barber's Pure Hard Workout. Can the regular guy handle Tiki Barber's Pure Hard Workout, Tiki?
The regular guy can if he's committed to doing it. And that's all what we try to espouse in this book is you have to have the mentality because as much as this is about a physical workout and getting yourself strong, you know, as you get older, your muscles deteriorate. It's about committing to something. It's not showing up for 10 minutes, not showing up for 15 minutes. It's putting your mind away for an hour or 45 minutes, however long it is, and working hard the old-fashioned way, not on an elliptical machine or on a Cybex machine, but picking up iron, doing things that are non-conventional, and building core strength like they used to do in the old days.
And that's what helped me as a football player get to where I was professionally. You know, it's not for everybody because a lot of people won't commit to it, but if you are willing to commit to it, high school athletes or those in middle age who want to change and reinvent themselves, it's perfect for you. I think he's right. I tell you, the workout is very difficult, but I'm committed to it, And, you know, my core is really what's the key. That's my producer. He is not. I don't know that he's committed to his core. I don't know about that.
You have a core. That is a fact. Now, here's why I say that Tiki's blessed with more than one thing. First of all, he has the kind of looks that he could be an actor if he wanted to. Oh, hello. The guy also was exceptionally blessed as a football player. The guy rushed for 10,449 yards and 55 touchdowns. Wow, great. And he is also really good on television. Yep. And the guy is a regular correspondent for the Today Show. He's an analyst for NBC's Football Night in America.
And during the summer, I saw you doing broadcasts for the Olympics on MSNBC. No, that was fun. China was interesting. It was eye-opening. And I think in a lot of ways, being exposed to that culture lets you realize that, you know, if someone told me when I first came into the NFL, no matter how good you get, just remember that there's a billion Chinamen who don't give a crap. It wasn't anything crap. You know what I mean. Yeah. Who don't care. And you go over there and they realize it's completely isolated from the culture that we have. In fact, a lot of us have never seen a black person before.
You know, I'm walking down the street, I'm walking down the street, we're getting stares. I know they don't know who we are, but it's just they haven't been exposed to it. And I think a lot of us as Americans going over there for the first time felt the exact same way. Hey, Tiki, when you were there, who was your broadcast partner? Jenna Wolfe. Jenna Wolfe. So she, I know her for a long time because she worked at WABC and she was a beat writer for our, she covered our beat for WABC, which is a local affiliate here. And so we've been friends forever. Listen, Tiki, Tiki, if NBC were smart, they would have you guys on together in prime time all the time. I tell you, she has this wit about her and it's quirky in a way, but if you go with it, and I'm able to go with it in a lot of different ways.
It made for an interesting television. I thought that you guys had amazing chemistry. And even if you've never seen Jenna and Tiki before, you don't have to, as I'm explaining this, because all I'm going to tell you is they had this really enjoyable chemistry to watch. They're very different. The thing that I remember seeing was you guys were playing a clip. Apparently, somebody had bitten someone in the Olympics. Yeah. And you guys were playing clips back of when this happened to Evander Holyfield from Mike Tyson. And Tiki thought it was hysterical. And Jenna did not think it was hysterical.
And just the dynamic between him laughing and trying to keep it kind of serious while she was kind of scolding him and saying it's not very funny, that's not, that isn't funny when someone, that was just great. The great thing about it is because it was on cable, we didn't have to fit exactly into a script. This is what you're going to say, this is what you're going to say, and then we're going to go to commercial and we're going to do whatever. It was real. It was our real reaction to whatever we were seeing. That's great. For instance, we had a guy who dislocated his elbow as he was doing a snatch. Oh, yeah.
That's the thing we watched. Yeah. And, you know, it's kind of, oh, that's cool. Have you ever seen that? Yeah. So you got the real reaction from us, and I think people appreciated seeing that. It was great because Tiki thought it was kind of fun, and she did not think that. I would not either. Yeah, it was great. So many things to ask you, Tiki. I want to talk to you about your days playing as a New York Giant. And there's a couple of things that just as a fan, a football fan, that I wondered if these things were true. One of the things that I heard was that Tom Coughlin adjusted the way that you held a football. He did.
It was more his running back coach, Gerald Ingram. And, you know, it's the same thing you hear from when I was 12 years old. Hold the ball high and tight. And everybody does it in practice, but they never really do it in the game because you get comfortable doing it a certain way. But he literally made me do it by saying, look, if you don't do it this way and you keep fumbling, you're not going to play. And so I did it to the extreme. So the ball literally never left my chest. So when I'm wide open running on a 50-yard touchdown, the ball is completely across my chest. And I got ridiculed for it. But over the years, the three years that he was there,
I think I fumbled three times. So it made a huge difference in my game. Dude, that was what was amazing about this story. When I heard it, if you're wondering what I'm talking about, Tiki Barber would hold the football after this new instruction. Tiki Barber would hold the football in a vertical fashion tucked underneath his and and held held in really tightly into like his armpit, where he used to just kind of run around with a ball all over the place. And they forced him to do this and his fumbles went to nothing. Yeah, it was really interesting. Also, the other thing that a lot of people talked about while you were a New York Giant is that the media made a great deal about feuds that you had with either Michael Strahan or Eli Manning or even Coach Coughlin. What's your take on that?
You know, those are New York stories. They like to take things that are benign in a lot of different ways and make them bigger than they are because there's 15 beat writers and they all have to write something different. But I have a great relationship with Michael Strahan. We hashed that out years ago. Tom Coughlin, we had a good relationship off the field. I just didn't appreciate how he treated not just me but all the players on the field. With Eli, I've always been a huge fan and an advocate of his and through the years haven't found a way to let him know what it takes to be a leader. Last year we saw it, like five games left in the season.
It just clicked for him. He played phenomenally through the playoffs and got a Super Bowl championship and you're seeing the carryover, and he's turned into what everybody expected him to be. And I think in a lot of ways he may be better than his brother in the long run, which is saying a lot. But he's got the composure and he's got the consistency about the way he approaches the game that is hugely beneficial for that team right now. You know, they're 9-1 and probably the best team in the league, even though they've lost one. Tiki, what's your favorite food? What's my favorite food? I'd say Jayo. My wife is half Korean, half Vietnamese, so there's these Vietnamese egg rolls called
Jayo that she hand rolls with vermicelli noodles and pork and vegetables and it's fried. You dip it in anything? Do you dip it in anything? You dip it in fish sauce. Oh, wow. He lost me on the fish sauce. Yeah, our news girl was with you until you said that. I don't know that it's fish sauce. It is fish-offs, but you don't know it. It's called Nug Mung. You've probably had it before if you've had Vietnamese fish. Eddie's got a question. Yeah, Tiki, I don't know if you know this, but we're the Chargers flagship station. So what's happening with the Chargers?
That's what I want to know. I'm asking you. What's wrong with our team? I heard you say earlier you have Sean Merriman coming on in a little bit. But since he obviously took the season off because of his knee, the defense just isn't what it used to be. And I think LaDainian's struggling a little bit, finding his way. He only wrestled 50-something yards. But Pittsburgh had a great D last night. And Norm is in a tough situation because the AFC is wide open, and it could have been their year. But I don't think they have the personnel.
They don't have the depth. When you look at the Giants and you look at the Titans who are dominating in the AFC, It's the depth of the position. Tiki, is it an issue at head coach? I don't think it's an issue at head coach. I think it's having your guys who you've relied on healthy and on the field. I saw LaDainian this offseason, and he told me last year he struggled so much with that knee. In fact, remember, he sat out in the playoff game because he didn't think that he could go. So those type of things linger, and if they don't get healthy, in the long run, the team suffers. Tiki, I know that you guys next Sunday night have the Chargers and the Colts.
I'm going to give you a little tip you can say on TV. We lose the line of scrimmage battle every week. Oh, really? Yeah, our offensive line doesn't open up holes for L.T., and our defensive line is getting blown off the line of scrimmage. That's where it happens. In football, that's where it happens. We think it's rocket science sometimes, the NFL, but it really is basic. It's field position and who controls the line of scrimmage because if you protect the quarterback, you give your skilled position players, your running backs, wide receivers opportunities to make plays, they will. But you have to protect the quarterback and control the line. Say that next conference on defense.
You're going to win. Tiki, give us a soundbite next Sunday night that we can play back on the air on Monday where it might sound something like. You know, I'm saying this. What are you talking about? It might sound like. Tiki, it might sound like this. You know, I was talking to a radio station in San Diego about this very thing. I was talking to Mikey out of San Diego. Yeah, and don't forget, it was our sports oracle, Eddie, that told you that piece of information. So try to remember. You think I'm joking. I'm writing this down. That'd be great, Tiki. Tiki, we're going to tape it. We're going to tape it. And if you say it, we'll play it with what we're saying right now.
We'll play this all back on Monday. I love it. Tiki Barber was a three-time Pro Bowler. He rushed for 10,449 yards and 55 touchdowns. And dude was valedictorian of his graduating high school class. Tiki, do you go to your high school reunion ever? You know, I missed it this last, two years ago I missed it because I had, me and my brother have written five children's books, so I had a tour for my children's book and I missed it.
Wow. I was upset. And then I missed my college one as well, for the same reason. He's got a twin brother, Rondé Barber, and I mean, they are identical twins. Except I outweigh him by about 15 pounds. I bet you never remind him of that. Of course I do. I bet you never remind him of a Super Bowl either, though. Do you ever put on the Tampa uniform and try and sneak in there and play a little bit? You know what? Sometimes I thought about doing it, but I would so embarrass him. That would be hysterical. That would be hysterical. Well, his new book is a workout book, and it's called Tiki Barber's Pure Hard Workout.
And, Tiki, we will be taping. Absolutely. Football night in America. We appreciate you coming on. I appreciate it, guys. Take care. All right, we'll see you. What a fun interview. Oh, that would be so cool. Dude, we've got to be taping that and see if you will do it. Be awesome. When we come back, we'll be talking to Sean Merriman, number 56. Also, we will answer the question. Was that Eddie that listeners saw at the movie theater on Saturday morning seeing Quantum of Salachi? And what did Eddie think of it?
Sean, did you see it too? Oh, too. Ah, don't say anything yet. We'll see what both of you guys think when we come back. Don't go away. I'm breaking my back just to know your name. But heaven ain't close in a place like this. This is the Mikey Show. Wow. If he says one more cool thing, he's in. This is the rock. 10 News sticks around for all those stuck in the evening commute. The new Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, was number one at the box office this weekend, making over $70 million. The Tennessee Titans improved to 10-0, beating Jacksonville 24-14. Kerry Collins throws three touchdowns in the wind. Collins says it's important for the Titans to stay humble.
I think the most important thing for us is to stay humble. I mean, I think that's a big part of what allows us to come to play every Sunday and give us a chance to win. There it is. 10-0. 10-0. That's crazy! Hey, listen, I want to find out what Eddie thought of the new James Bond movie. How do you know I was there? Now, we've got to find out if you were there, first of all. Oh, the mystery continues. I don't even know if you were there.
I'm assuming. You don't know. And we will do that, but guess who's on the line? Who are we going to know? This is the Bud Light Sean Merriman Report. Number 56 is on the line. Hey, Sean, what's up, man? Hey, what's going on? Not too much, man. It is, I was saying this earlier. I said, it sure would be great to get a win so that when we talk to you, you're a little bit more like, oh, man, this will be a lot more fun when we get a win, you know? It's a little bit more difficult to talk when you lose. It is, man.
And, you know, especially somebody in your position where you're not able to participate in it. You've got to watch it on TV like the rest of us. Yeah, man, that was a Sean Merriman game, if I've ever seen one. It's just a slobber knocker, and you're knocking snot bubbles out of people. You know what I mean? Yeah. Oh, it definitely was, man. It was a physical game, and it kind of brings you back to when they used to play in the freezing cold back in the day. So I like those kind of games. So, Sean, I'm guessing you had to watch it on TV, you know, Sean's rehabbing. And so as you're sitting there watching this thing go on, what are you thinking?
You know, after a while, the first quarter, I thought we really had a good chance of winning and putting up a lot of points because they, you know, started making some big mistakes and they wasn't doing too well on offense. So I thought the game was, you know, a lot. Well, I mean, it had to have been rough for those guys to get down to where they got to and then lose the game by a point. And, you know, the morale for the team can't be very high right now. What do you say to them to try to get them kind of fired up? Well, you know, right now I think everyone is going through like a transitional period
where we're looking for that game to turn into a three- or four-game winning streak. And right now it's just not happening. I mean, it's tough for everyone right now to be dealing with the situation of, you know, us just not playing well right now. This is the goal line stand yesterday. Cut 68. On fourth down, Muelde Moore is in the backfield, and they'll pitch to Moore, who goes left, and it stood up! He didn't get there! Muelde Moore runs in the jammer, and he had help from Brandon Seiler. The Chargers have stoned the Pittsburgh Steelers at the goal line.
You got to like that. That's good stuff. The defense played great. Yeah. Yeah, I think it was a big stop. And, you know, normally things like that are momentum changes and, you know, allow us to make some big plays after that. I mean, we had them for most part of that game, and that's the game that we should have won. And those games really hurt you, you know, because you get down to the last few minutes of the game and you don't win. And that's when you go back and look at the film when those few yards matter or maybe a key mistake. You know, one thing matters at the end of the game.
Conditions yesterday. Cold, blustery, snow. Sean, do players dig that? Yeah, I think some guys do. I'm not going to say I'd rather not play in 75-degree weather in San Diego. At the same time, I mean, it's just one of those things that's part of football, you know, and we call it football weather. What's the worst weather to play in, Sean, for you? Is it rain? Is it just freezing cold? Is it snow? Yeah, you know, when it's raining. A guy like myself coming off the edge and trying to be a speed guy, it's hard to get a really good pass rush when the field is just terrible.
And for the way that you play, would you rather play on artificial fast turf or would you rather play on grass? It doesn't really matter. It doesn't really matter. I think that all the fish returns make you a little bit more faster if anything, but I'm sure it's not too good on these. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. What about that new stuff? Does that new stuff feel good to play on, the new turf that they have? And did you ever play on that old-school sort of cement with the carpet rolled over it? Oh, yeah.
I think the worst field I played on was the Minnesota Vikings when they had that carpet. Yeah. They were still trying to change it over from what they had before. And it was just like playing on C, man. It was terrible. I can't even imagine that, man, where guys are getting tackled, falling on that stuff. I heard that it used to be as hard as rock. Oh, it did. It would take your skin off from your elbow to your wrist if you fly. Oh, my God. That's brutal. That is absolutely brutal. Well, what do you think this week is going to be like for these guys? What are they going to do?
You know, because we don't have the benefit of being in a league. locker room in a state like this of where the charges are what do you say and what do you do i think that what's going to be big uh pointed out the the the most this week is monday when everyone watch the film you're going to see just one or two mistakes that probably changed the whole entire game because whenever something's that close i mean you lose the game 10 to 11 you're going to say it was one block it was one missed typos it's one yard that we could have got because that's what it comes down to sean what are you gonna have for breakfast uh probably some protein shake i'm heading to work out right now so just a protein shake yeah what flavor do we roll do we
roll chocolate do we roll vanilla what do we roll vanilla vanilla vanilla you ever throw any fruit in there oh yeah yeah depending on uh if i'm rushing out or not i'll just have a ready to go And the big question, Sean, did you see TRL's big finale this weekend? They wrapped up their series. If you're an MMA fan, that's probably a more. What's up, Eddie? I really want to know if you saw the TRL finale, though. It's just weird. Sean, did you watch any of the UFC this weekend? Yeah, yeah, I saved it.
What did you think? Brock Lesnar, a big dude. Sean, who did you? Let's quote him on that. Who did you think was going to win? I had a feeling he was going to win. I mean, whenever you go against a guy with skill and that size, I mean, he's 6'5", 265, and, you know, I was looking at him. A couple of my friends were all over here watching the fight, and I left to go see Manny Pacquiao, you know, before his fight. We stayed not too far from each other, good friends. And we were all over, and I was comparing the size, man.
The 6'5", 265, we're about the same size, but he looked so much bigger. Wait a second, I am so confused right now. Manny Pacquiao's a friend, right? Yeah. And so you guys live close to each other. Right. And so you were over his place just hanging out, talking, and your buddies were back at your place watching UFC? Right, because Manny and those guys, they don't watch the UFC, they watch the boxing match that was on. Right, right. Oh, they were on at the same time? So by the time you got back to your place, it was all over.
Well, yeah, I just walked over to Manny's place to see what was going on, but I don't. I'm going to watch the UFC over the box. Right, right, right. Manny Pacquiao lives in San Diego? No, no, in L.A. Oh, okay. In L.A., I got you. What a trip, man. What a trip. Well, that's great. That is wild. Have you ever been to one of those things before in person? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I go to them all the time. They're pretty cool. Pretty cool things to watch. Yeah, man, I mean, it's one of the most brutal sports, like, you know, out there. Yeah, at first, yeah, I train with a lot of guys, but I don't think I'll really get in the ring.
I mean, it'll take a lot more training and a lot to do before I ever think about getting in the ring. Dude. You know, we were talking about it. We were talking about what would be worse, to take a hit from Sean Merriman, full force, or a punch from Chuck Liddell. Yeah. And we were debating it on the air. And what would you rather take? Yeah, Sean, which would you rather do? A hit from Sean Merriman or one punch from Chuck Liddell? Well, both of them, you're going to sleep. That's true. So true.
It's very true. All right, Sean, well, we will talk to you next week. Colts, man. Yeah, Colts. We got their number, right, Sean? Oh, yeah, yeah. It's going to be a game of matchups. And, you know, we seem to do pretty good against those guys each and every year. So we'll see what happens. but usually they have you, Sean. Yeah, I know, but you're usually playing. That's true. We just talked to Tiki Barber, and he was saying the same thing. He's like, man, that Sean Merriman needs to be playing. It's different when you're in there. But we'll see, man. We'll see. Hopefully they do well. Sean, hey, man, we appreciate it. Thanks for calling in. All right, I appreciate it.

Welcome back. It is 7.34. Barack Obama and John McCain will meet today for the first time since the election. Tony Romo and his famous Pinky lead the Cowboys to a 14-10 win over Washington. T.O. talks about the victory. You know, I think a lot of people kind of countered us out. But, you know, this is the new second half of the season, and we started with this game tonight, and we got the win, and that was the most important thing for us. There it is. Eddie, did you see Quantum of Solace?
Did you or did you not? Was it you? Was it you that our listeners saw? Where did they claim to see me? Grossmont. That was me. What did you think? Well, first of all, I'm sorry. I know that was a ridiculously large amount of popcorn that I had, but it was only 50 cents. It was 50 cents more, Mike. I mean, I couldn't pass up the deal. This was like $40. I only ate like a quarter of the bag. Do you know how much it was? Do you remember? $14 for two drinks and that popcorn.
$14. Disgusting. No joke. Disgusting. That's why you got to bring your own. That includes the tickets. Bring your own popcorn? Yeah. No, no, you cannot do that. No, that's gross. A couple of cans of soda. Yeah, you're good. This guy's like, may I buy your microwave, please? Could you just put this in there for two? No, you just pop it before you leave the house. It's not even hot. Oh. Yes, but it's free. Thank you. Jeez, I'm not that cheap. Was it any good? Quantum of Solace, Mike, was good. I didn't like it as much as I like Casino Royale, But I liked it quite a bit.
Shawnee O'Boy saw it. Shawnee O'Boy. Dude, it was phenomenal. Phenomenal. It was a fantastic movie. The opening sequence was unbelievable. The knife fight in the beginning was crazy good. Did you think it was better than Casino Royale? Oh, I thought it was way better than Casino Royale. Really? Way better. Wow. Here was my problems. Yeah, yeah, go ahead. My problems were, number one, there was a few times when I thought the editing was so fast, I had no idea what was going on.
Like, you know how they do that in action movies now? I'm not a fan. Dude, I don't know why they do that. I guess they make it so it's, like, chaotic. But, like, I didn't, you know what scene I'm talking about, Sean, when they were, like, when he was chasing the guy through the street? I had no idea what it was, like, who's chasing who? Is Bond even there? Like, I don't even know what was going on. There's a few times during that sequence where it's just like all they show are blurs. They don't really show anything. So, yeah, it's hard. That was kind of rough for me. And then the actual plot of the movie I thought was kind of uninteresting. It was a, like, legitimate sequel to Casino Royale.
I mean, you have to watch Casino Royale to kind of get what was going on in this movie. And it wasn't my favorite. You know, and I felt like the ending, there's a lot to be left, you know, to be told, I guess, which is fine. But, you know, I just didn't think it was a complete movie when Casino Royale I thought was fantastic. Yeah, I read a lot of reviews, and a lot of reviews are kind of saying what Eddie was saying. That's not as good as Casino Royale, and a lot of it was too fast, and the plot's a little cryptic, and, you know, he doesn't do the Bond stuff that he used to. Which I'm fine with because I'm not a fan with old school Bond.
I would never have been. But this one, Quantum of Solace, made $30 million more in its opening weekend than Casino Royale did back in 2006. It was a packed theater. It was the first showing, too. Yeah, so it was a huge movie this weekend. Great action, though, right? Great action. Really good action. I mean, I love this James Bond. Like, it's good. It's really good. Okay, so we do this thing on Friday called Weekend Worry Ward. And you are allowed to call us up. You tell us, what do you got going on this weekend that's just tripping you out?
What do you have that is just, you can't believe that it's going on now? We had a bunch of good ones here, man. Dude, we had do-zees. How about this guy, P1 Ice Cream Man? Listen to this. I have to tell my strict Muslim mother that my white girlfriend is pregnant. and p1 ice cream man yeah how did it go um yeah well something happened i told my brothers and they were like oh okay and my mom she was going to it on a little weekend trip to my aunt's house in riverside so they pulled me aside my brothers did and said if you tell her now oh they said if
you tell her now we're gonna beat the crap out of you basically really what why because it would like ruin her weekend or something yeah they put it and i think my mom wouldn't have gone or anything so i'm gonna go pick her up today after work and tell her on the way home you gotta tell us man you gotta call us tomorrow and tell us what happened that's crazy oh dude that's insane thank you for the call no problem thank you for the call we're safe we're saving the we're saving the best for last by the way uh because we still have the guy that's 19 years old right that needed to tell his mom that he is
going to be having a baby. That his wife is going to be having a baby. And oh, by the way, I'm married. And oh, by the way, she's 40. And I'm 19. So we'll save the best for last. We'll be talking to him in a second. P1 Jess. Hi. How you doing? Now you, let me play back for everybody so that they know exactly what your deal was. Hi. I'm really actually excited but still stressed. My older brother and my husband are coming home from deployment on the same day. How long have they been gone? My older brother's been gone for a little over
seven and a half months, and my husband's only been gone for three months, but he deploys again early next year for nine months. Are you pregnant? Jess, the weekend is over. Yeah, how did it go? I have good news and bad news. I was really excited. My brother came home all perfect. I mean, he ate so much Mexican food, it almost made me want to throw up. That's awesome. But other than that, like, everything was moving. My husband came home. I got to see him for, like, 15 minutes, and he got called into duty. So I don't get to actually see him until noon today.
Oh, wow. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, that sucks. That's crazy. So she'll be pregnant by one. Yeah, you'll be pregnant by one. Are you kidding? 12.05. Right. Hey, call us tomorrow. Tell us if it was a happy week. Oh, I definitely will. I will be leaving work today at 11.45. I am so over it. Very cool. Awesome. Very, very cool. We appreciate the funko. I appreciate you guys, and thank you for doing this. Thank you, Jess. How about this one? This was P1 Chris. I am getting married on Saturday. Oh, my gosh. Yeah.
Is this the surfer guy? We're getting married. Yeah. We are getting married on our surfboards in Carlsbad. Yes, it is, Eddie. Wow. So he didn't get eaten by a killer whale? Eddie. I thought that the whole weekend. Stop it. Chris, did you get eaten by a killer whale? No, no, no, we did not. Oh, really? That was the bullet, bro. That's ridiculous. How did it go? It was, I can't, we can't describe how amazing it was. Dude, you got to send us pictures, man. It was gorgeous weather for that. Oh, it was perfect.
Yeah. We have, our photographer took over a thousand pictures, and the Ariel worked out. He was actually out there taking pictures as we were paddling out and of the ceremony. And they flew over and took pictures, right? They did. What did you guys wear? Dress. We were both in wetsuits, but she had two white lays on, and then I had my own lay on. So, you know, if people could distinguish who it was who. Dude, I bet those are cool pictures, man. Oh, for sure.
Oh, it was incredible. Yeah, yeah, send them some. We will. And the turnout was amazing. We had a bunch of people flying that night. My buddies and all of us pulled an all-nighter. We were actually there at 1.30 that morning, pulling all the surfboards out. Everybody was there. And then around, because we got married earlier in the morning, we couldn't believe how many people showed up. It was incredible. How'd your dad do? Because I know you said your dad, like, has never been on a surfboard, and he was going to paddle out there with you guys. Well, that was the fun thing. Him and my mom tried to take kayaks out. Oh.
Yeah. And that turned out to be, that was not going very well. But as soon as they both grabbed surfboards, it was perfect. They both made it out. Her dad made it out. And then my sister-in-law, her sister with her four-year-old nephew also made it out. Oh, my gosh. That's real. It was awesome. There you go, man. Hey, dude, thanks for calling and thanks for updating us. It sounds like it was great. Yeah, congrats. Appreciate it, Chris. Thank you, you guys. Have a good morning. And then. Oh, no. And then.
The whopper. How about this one? I'm nervous because I have to tell my parents that my 40-year-old wife is pregnant, and I'm 19. Oh, and he also had to tell them he was married. Are you there, P1? I can't feel my face. Hey, good morning, guys. How's it going? It's going good. Did you tell them? Yeah, I did tell them. I had to tell them separately because my dad wasn't home. Yeah. But I told my mom, and she kind of took me aside, and she said I was crazy, that I was out of my mind. And pretty much, like, you know, she gave me the whole Mexican spiel.
She started yelling at me in English, and then she started yelling at me in Spanish. Spanglish. She was yelling at you in Spanglish. Yeah, Spanglish. And then she called my dad, and then she put my dad on the phone. And then my dad's all like, oh, well, what do you think? What are you doing? So, like, that's a man's move. I guess you think you're a big man now and everything. So it went well. Yeah, it went really good. Sounds very supportive. Sounds like it all worked out. Yeah, it worked out nicely. And then my mom got mad at me some more. And then pretty much, you know, she disowned me. Oh, she disowned you?
Yeah, pretty much. Now, like, really disowned you, like you guys are never going to speak again? Or she's just really, really mad and was thrown around crazy words? - Well, she has disowned me before. - Okay. - She's really gonna follow through with it. But I mean, this is a pretty big dilemma this time. So she might go through it. with it this time oh wow so uh are they at all like wanting to meet this woman or know this child that this woman's gonna have they my they are they had already known that i was going out with her but they didn't know that it was like that serious and like i like when they thought i was
going out with her they they said uh oh well you know you're you're crazy because you know she's older than you and i was you know the typical deal about that but uh they didn't know that i was married to her. I just didn't tell her or anybody else. I just got married through the court. What's your wife's name? Maria Atta. Is she Mexican? Yeah. So at least they're happy about that, right? Dude, they probably would have freaked out if you had married a white woman. Well, my sister married a Hmong guy, so they don't make a big deal about that. What is that?
Hmong, that's the type of Asian. Oh, really? Well said. And they didn't freak out? They didn't freak out. Yeah, because the last guy we talked to, he freaked out that his parents were going to trip because it was a white girl. I know a lot of times in Mexican culture, sometimes they freak out on that. They're pretty open about race. Yeah. How long have you been with her? Closing in on two years now. Wow. They've been two years and they're still not used to it yet? Yeah, they're not.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a minute. You're 19. That would have meant that you were dating when you were 17 and she was 38. Oh, my. I'm about to be 20. How did you meet? That makes it okay. How did you meet? We met at work. School? Yeah. When you first met her and she asked you how old you are, did you hold your hands up and say, I'm this many? Oh, no. Yeah, like, think about it. When she was the age he is today, he was being born. Yeah.
Yeah. That's different. You guys met at work. Yeah, we met at work through the work orientation. Uh-huh. And they were handing out the uniforms and everything. And, like, I saw her there. So I'm like, all right, well, you know, she's pretty cute. So I'll ask her out. And when she told me, she was like, you know, I'm old enough to be your mom. I'm like, oh, well, you know, you're not my mom. That's okay. I'm old enough to be your son. Right. Yeah. wow it didn't bother me had she ever been married yeah she's been married before does she have kids uh from the other marriage yeah she does so you're gonna be a stepfather or you are a stepfather
how old are the kids yeah 32 yeah how old are the um her oldest daughter is 15 and the youngest one is 10 and then she has a son that is 24 okay so you're four years older than the daughter and you're five years younger than the son. Yeah. Whoa. That is wild. Hi, Dad. How does the eldest son feel about all this? You know, we don't talk very much. He lives in Escondido, so... Oh, so really far away.
Yes, yes. Extremely far. They communicate by carrier pigeon. Does, how does, is the son, like, upset with his mom or anything? No, actually, the family just minds their own business. My mother-in-law lives on the house next door, and I get along with her great. So the rest of the family, we get along great. And the family, we just don't talk to them because we don't have any need to talk to them. Wow.
They're not going to hold it. Other than it being her son. Well, listen, you're going to be a dad, and now your mom and dad know that they have a daughter-in-law. and they're going to have a grandchild pretty soon and so wow man that's a trip that sucker played out in a pretty wild way oh I bet that sounds like fun not really it doesn't really sound like that much fun not really hey dude P1 I can't film my face
thank you for updating us brother oh yeah no problem thanks for having me alright dude we'll see ya wow oh that's a situation Well, that old story. Right? That old hackneyed deal. Oh, man. Well, my dress is ruined, thanks to you and my little brother. and your stupid teriyaki bowls. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Say what you will about me, but leave my teriyaki bowls out of this. They're just grilled chicken or sirloin steak on a bed of steamed rice topped with broccoli, carrots, and teriyaki sauce. What did they do? Oh, I'll tell you. I just said I do to the love of my life. Everyone was throwing confetti and rose petals. It was perfect until my brother started throwing rice. Isn't that traditional? No. Not cooked rice. Oh. And not what it's in a bowl with chicken and vegetables and teriyaki sauce. Unbelievable.

Sky.

No. Opposite. And Ashley. I like my sweat, and I don't want to use special deodorant. On Rock 105.3. Welcome back to Mikey's show. It is 7.58. Well, I think we kind of suspected it, but for the first time this weekend, actress Wanda Sykes announced publicly that she is gay.
The top five remain intact in the BCS standings. Alabama is still number one. UCLA! No, UCLA is not in the top five. Wait a second. Why is Ashley's mom screaming UCLA? UCLA! No, they're not in the top five. That's not what he was saying at all. Sorry, it's a bummer. I don't know why you went there. What about in the NFL, Eddie? What happened? What was his deal? You want me to break down the scores? Yeah, yeah. Well, this was kind of bad news for the Chargers. Denver got a win.
They beat Atlanta 24-20. The first tie since 2002 went down yesterday. Philadelphia and Cincinnati tied at 13. Green Bay moved into first place, beating Chicago 37-3. Indianapolis looks like they've recovered. They're back. They beat Houston 33-27. New Orleans, of course, beat Kansas City 30-20. See, that's what teams usually do to Kansas City. They beat them pretty badly. That hurt. Another shocker here. Oakland lost. They lost to Miami.
The Oakland Raiders lost? Can you believe that? It's, I think, the biggest upset ever. Wow. The Giants, they improved to 9-1, beating Baltimore 30-10. Tampa Bay has a stranglehold on the top of their division, beating Minnesota 19-13. Detroit 0-10 on the season. Are you kidding me? They have a real legitimate chance to go 0-16. Real legitimate. Because they're playing tough. Their schedule is real tough all the way out. They lost to Carolina 31-22. How about those 49ers?
Oh, talk about it. They scored 35 points in the first half and sat on it. Beat St. Louis 35-16. I did not start Frank Gore. I did not start Frank Gore. Look at Eddie's face. St. Louis has the worst run defense in the league. All I was hearing was that he was hurt all week. That he was not, that he was gimpy and he wasn't good. No, he had a little neck injury. He was fine. You know who I started instead? Who? Matt Forte, who's been great. I mean, the guy's been great. Well, it is his Forte. Yeah, it's his Forte.
You know, touchdowns have been his Forte. I got him from Zeth in a trade. And he, you know, pretty much had his worst game all season yesterday. Same with Andre Johnson, dude. Yeah. You want your guy back? Retrade. Retrade. How about Arizona, man? They're still winning. They beat Seattle 26 to 20. What about the Cardinals? Is there somebody you like on the Cardinals? I'm a fan of their team. They're good.
Who do you like on that team? What's his name? Pomplamoose. That's right. Fitzgerald, bro. Fitzgerald is on that team. That's your gut. That's the one you've been talking about. I thought that you were talking about other players that I like. Pamplamoose. Yes. She's talking about Ben Pamplemousse. Not really. Tennessee improves to 10-0 on the season. They beat Jacksonville 24-14. And Tony Romo last night returns to the Dallas Cowboys, leads them to a win over Washington 14-10.
So, Eddie, who's a better team, the 10-0 Titans or the 9-1 Giants? You know, I've heard this a lot. The Giants are the best team in football. You've got to give Tennessee credit, man. They play great defense. They have a killer running game. And Kerry Collins is now developing. I mean, I shouldn't say he's developing. He's a legitimate starter in the league. You know, I mean, this is a guy who's gone to Super Bowls before. He's been to championship games. You know, he's had some problems in the past. But, I mean, he's a good quarterback. And he's playing very well right now. And Tennessee's a very good team.
I think if it were me, I would say Tennessee's the best team in the league. Really? For sure. Now, I'm looking at the Union Tribune today. front page, that sinking feeling is the headline. And the photograph is Igor Olshansky walking off Heinz Field with his head down, completely deflated. Wait, he's still on the team? Yes. I haven't heard his name called in two months. He is still on the team. Crazy. And Nick Canepa. He says at four and six and two games behind Denver and the AFC West, the Chargers
appear to be finished. Can't do it. That's not true, Nick. No way. Wait, that's the San Diego paper that's saying that? Yeah, yeah, this is not the Pittsburgh paper. This is not the Pittsburgh Gazette. Because, I mean, it sounds like somebody who, like, hates San Diego. Yeah. I mean, that's a silly comment. You know, I mean, times are tough right now. Things don't look very good. But, you know, we know this team can go on a roll. They can get on a tear. And, you know, their next three games are at home. And if they win all three of those games, they're right back in the mix. Denver is not a great team. They're winning football games.
I give Denver credit. They're doing what they need to do. But that defense is atrocious. And, you know, I still expect, even at this late stage, at four and six, the Chargers to still turn this ship around and win this division. I really do. I mean, you know, their schedule is still, you know, there's some bumps up there. You know, there's some pretty tough games in there. But I think they're all winnable games. Yeah, you're contending against one team, basically. Yes, yes. And, you know, as long as they don't drop division games, that's the key. They've got to beat the Raiders, which, give me a break. It's like a bye week.
And then they've got to go into Kansas City and get that win so that they have at least a one-game cushion when they play that final game of the year against the Broncos here at Qualcomm Stadium. It's going to all come down to that game. I want winners. Me too. This weekend, Eddie, is it Sunday or Monday? Sunday night football on NBC. It's a big time. Indianapolis Colts coming to town. Yeah. I've been waiting all week for Sunday night. He doesn't need to sing it. That's more like the pink version. More twang.
I've been waiting all week for Sunday night. Yeah! I've been waiting all week for Sunday night. Yeah! That's cool. It's so good. It's so strange. I know it does. Before we went to break, I said that a guy in Germany escaped jail in a box. That sounds cool. How did he do it? What's in the box? Well, this guy was a convicted drug dealer. He was serving a seven-year sentence.
And I guess, you know, one of the deals that they do at this jail in Germany is they make stationary. How humiliating. The only place I'll buy from. That's right. So the inmates make stationery, and then, you know, they ship it out. I still wear my letter host every so often. Yes, and they make thank you cards. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, I work at the Sanctuary Department. So they make the stationery, and then they ship it out, and it's sold in stores, I guess, all over Germany. It is so much fun making stationery. I'm a card, and you're a letter.
Where do we go from here? So I guess this inmate who escaped took one of the boxes that should have been filled with stationery and put himself inside it and got it all sealed up. And it was sitting next to... How did it get sealed up? I guess his boys in prison, they're looking into that. They're questioning people. But, you know, that box was next to all the other boxes of stationery. So when, you know, the guy doing the delivery came, the delivery person came to pick up the boxes to take them away. He took the one with the dude in it, put it in the truck. And the dude, while the truck was driving,
the dude jumped out of the box and jumped off the truck. and they can't find him. That's good. Good for him. He's on the loose. That's pretty good. Dude. That's so much better than Andy Dufresne had to do in Shawshank. Oh, I know. Remember what Andy Dufresne went through with the sewer and all the doodoo-y at the end of it? No. But then he went to that fence, remember, and he dug up the thing and the money was there and the letter from Ol' Red. Remember?
Oh, Red wrote him a letter and said, Well, if you're reading this right now, Andy, because you've got no way around. Andy left Red the money and the letter and told him. So he said to Red, if you're reading this right now, Red. Red from Fraggle Rock? You're still doing more of your Freeman's voice, but if you're reading this right now, Red, it's because I'm white. Sky has a list, ladies and gentlemen. I love lists. It's a list of the greatest ballads ever.
Oh, every rose has a thorn. Go ahead. Put it on the board. What are we talking about? Let's end this right now. Top five. Let's end this right now. Every rose. Put it to bed. Poison. Put it. We didn't say greatest rock ballads. Greatest ballads. Okay, now wait. Still a ballad. Is a ballad. Yeah, it is a ballad. What are we defining a ballad as? A love song. A slow love song. I Will Always Love You, Whitney Houston. Yep. Number three. Oh, come on. Number three. Endless love. Endless love is on there. Put it on the board. Wizard Without You. You too.
That stupid Titanic song. Yeah, what about that stupid Titanic song? Number five is My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion. Mike, this is the worst list ever. Anything from Journey. Every Breath You Take. Oh, yeah. Police. What is a Beatles? Is there a Beatles love song? Hey, June. I'll be missing you. What about Hey, June? Oh, what about September Rain? By the police. Leave her alone. Didn't we almost have it all by that one guy? Dude, yeah. By the guy. By the guy. Scooby, I think it was. Get out of my dreams.
Get into my car. Can you please play Didn't We Have It All? Thank you. I want to hear Didn't We Have It All. It's so gorgeous. It's number one, I think. It's number one with a bullet. Are you kidding? And cue. Meister. There it is. Oh, for goodness sake. We could have been happy together. Didn't we have it all I'm starting to get tears Tonight we spread together Like a virgin Madonna Wait, it's not
It's not It's not It's not What about I can't fight this feeling R.E.O.S. Great song I can't fight this feeling Any longer What about B-Rob, No Game? Oh, is that on there? Of course not, no. What about Taco Shop? That's not a compliment. Yeah. What about my churro? What about churro? No, no. I don't want to get to go. Definitely not.
Oh, all right. I think we've given every single guess. There's none left. Please don't go, girl. New Kids. That is a beautiful song, but no, not on the list. Yeah. Anything by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Okay. I want to know what love is. Foreigner, put it on the board. There it is. What number is that? Foreigner. Who does hot blood? No, boys. Hot blood. Foreigner. That's not funny. Sweet home, Alabama. Nothing by Journey on there, Sky?
No. Nothing by Foreigner? Phil Collins? No. Got something by Phil Collins on there, buddy? No. Frank Sinatra. Frank Sinatra. I've got you under my skin. Um, no. How about some from Billy Joe? Yeah, you're always a woman. You're always a woman to me. Billy Joe. Billy Joe. No, Billy Joe. Cameron. No. Oh, Elton John. Oh, sing it. The Wind Beneath My Wings. Oh, no. Wait a minute. Elton John does Wind Beneath My Wings, right? He's not that busty redhead?
I thought he was, uh, yeah. Yeah, that's Elton John's the dude from Beaches. No, Mike, that's a woman. That can't be a woman. That's not right. Leave her alone. She's the best. How old is it, Sky? What are we listening? How old is it? Well, two of these songs were made famous through movies. I know it. I got it. Barbara Streisand. Barbara Streisand. What movie? Funny Girl. Unchained Melody. Evergreen.
Evergreen from Star is Born. Did you hear Eddie? I heard him. Did anyone just hear Sean say Silkwood? Why would he say that? A movie about a nuclear disaster? That's just weird. Did anyone? I missed that. But there was, they fell in love. Okay. Hey. Aerosmith, don't want to change your face. Don't want to change your face. I just want to fall asleep because I'll change you, baby.
Number four is I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith. Well, that's so crazy. Of all time. Hey, man. Of all time. We're only missing what? Open arms, not on the list. Not one. Aerosmith. But Aerosmith. Yeah. I don't want to miss a face. Missing number one and number two. Amazed by Rascal Flatts. Number one is from a movie. That's Blown Star. Number one's from a movie. It was made famous from a movie. Oh. I've got you under my skin In your eyes, Peter Gabriel Oh yeah, your eyes It's either Peter Gabriel or it's
Berlin It's neither of them You're so In your eyes, Peter Gabriel Oh, the song to Nights in Rodanthe Oh, this guy's got it This is number one This guy's got number one P1 Tiggy Tiggy Is this a girl or a guy? I don't even know what Tiggy means. Hello? Eddie, do you think, thank you for being a friend? Tiggy's not there, but I'm going to tell you what she said because I know it's number one.
He or she, I don't know. Unchained Melody from Ghost. Unchained Melody, Ghost, number one. Well, Eddie said that about five minutes ago. You did? Yeah, remember I got a real bad. It was on 105.3. Yeah, I know you were listening to Sophie, so that's like... Yeah, I was listening to Sophie. Pick your bra. Pick your bra. They're doing a contest where you get to pick your own bra or something. Really? Yeah. That sounds cool. Yeah. I just got the keyword for pick your purse, so I just got one of those. I was picking my bra. I was like, wait, what's Mikey doing? Oh, they're doing that contest.
Let's see. P1 Cook. Oh, gosh. He's got the answer. Cook, are you there? Hey, Cook, you've got the number one or two. Go ahead. I know you have it. I know it. Yes, it's Everything I Do by Brian Adams. That's right. You are correct. And it's the number one ballad of all time. Of all time? It's gorgeous. I like it. I like it, but I mean, of all time. Look up the music video, dude. You'll understand. I'm not mad at it. Oh, no. Eddie looked up men in tights. That's the problem. It's a wrong movie. Weird. It's a wrong movie.
So, I don't know if you're going to guess number two. You are so beautiful, Joe Tucker. P1 Sherry. Cherie. Huh? Cherie. Yes. What do you think? Take My Breath Away from Top Gun. No, it's not on the list. Wow. This one, this last one, I don't even know what the heck this song is. I've never heard it. Maybe I have. Give us a hand. Never heard it. I don't know. Give us a hand. Give us a hand. Whatever it is, I wonder if we know it. I wonder. A hint like the name of the band? No.
Oh, really? You know, I've never heard of the name of the band? No, I know the name of the band. I just don't know the song. Like, give me about when this came out. The Rolling Stones, never heard of them? No, this is a band that I believe became popular, like, in the 80s and is still making music today. So I don't know when this song came out. I will never get it. What is it? I guarantee you will get it. Band name? Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi? Bon Jovi? Bon Jovi? Yes, in your life. Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi? My life. Bon Jovi. If it's one of those stupid songs that they came out with recently.
I don't know. What is it? Always. What is that? Yeah, Bon Jovi. Oh. Yeah, I don't know. What? Sing it. Sing it, Chad. That's one of the top five of all times. Always and forever. It sounds beautiful. Dude, I'm looking in the system. I don't even see Bon Jovi always. It's got to be in there. It's the second greatest ballad ever, Mike. How could we not have it? Are you kidding? This is ridiculous. Are you kidding? It's not in there. Are you sure this isn't like Bob from that marketing department that came up with it? No, this was an online list from OnePole.com, which is, you know, a polling website.
It's OnePole.com. Okay, I'm looking at Bon Jovi. I'm looking at Bon Jovi. All right, calm down. Always run to you, Bon Jovi? It just says always here. Always, always. Now that ain't it. I was way off. Always. There's nothing in here says that. And you know what I bet it is? That they did an online poll and the Bon Jovi fan club spammed all their, you know, fans. Is that what they call it when you send out the spam everybody?
Spam it up on the blog. And a bunch of Bon Jovi fans went and voted it. Yeah, that's right. Mikey Show. Hi, this is P1 Body. What's up? I want to let them know what the Bon Jovi song is. Yeah, what is it? It goes like... Always, and I'll be there forever and a day. Always, I'll be there where the sun don't shine till the heavens burst and the words don't rhyme and you'll be young. Why? You sound so funny.
Oh, thank you. I know what song that is. Go ahead and pull that entire thing, Ash, and get that right over to Sean. That's beautiful, sir. Just take the whole thing. Thank you. I do know the song. Now, whenever we're talking about something romantic from this point on, ever. Delish. And we have it all. Multitude of choices now. Yes, we do. Gorgeous. That was so breathtaking. Tearing up.
I'm embarrassed. That was so gorgeous, Mike. That was absolutely breathtaking. I'm crying. It was so. It was really beautiful. It was so. It was. We have a brand new website we want you to look at. I don't think with, like, normal, boring people. Oh, come on. Wait a minute. It's the Mikey Show on The Rock. welcome back it's a mikey show it is 8 29 wildfires are burning in four counties in southern
california more than 800 homes have been lost in a total of 34 square miles have been burned the chargers let one slip away they had lost what to the steelers after the steelers kicked the last second field goal to win 11 to 10 philip river says the team needs to carry on We got to go on. I mean, our backs are against the wall. They've been against the wall a year, you know, and we're two games back and a half, really, with six to play. Just go. Just carry on. I mean, you know, the Colts will come on Sunday. The ball will get kicked off, you know, so we got to just carry on and keep playing.
Yeah. Inspiring. Well, dude, how many weeks in a row we got to hear that? You know, that's what we've been hearing. That's basically what we've been hearing now for a while. So, I don't know. I hope they get better. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. Okay. So, before we went to break, I said that when we come back, we've got a couple of things that we want to do. P1 Answering Machine. This is a new phone number that we have up. It's 858-715-1923. 858-715-1923 is the comment line.
You can call and say anything you want. You can, you know, it's the same thing you would use a friend's voicemail for. So it's totally up to you. Call it, though. It's 858-715-1923. Hey, guys. Good morning. This is P1 Kirsten, and I was calling. I actually have three kind of comments, ideas, suggestions. My first one is on Plitidium. I thought it might be a good idea if you guys said what the idiom is, and then the caller had to guess at that point whether Ashley would get it right or wrong.
And, of course, she's going to get it right. So, Ashley. And then my second comment is, maybe this is something you guys already have. I don't know. I'm kind of a new P1. Would be if you see another car that has a P1 Army sticker on it, That there could be some sort of wave or, like, air five or something that you would do to, like, say hello to that other car, obviously, without crashing. Let me pause that. What can we do?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Eddie and Sky are doing the Napoleon Dynamite thing with the Napoleon Dynamite bird from his dramatic interpretation of Wind Beneath My Wings. That's a new sign. That's both hands. A little unsafe. What? It's a little bit. You don't know. Is there like a peace sign or a something, some sort of a gang? Yeah. Ashley's throwing up a gang sign that can be for P1s. Yeah, probably not. What about the greetings? Yeah, you know what that is? That's an upside down OK.
It looks like a P. What about that? Hey, we should take suggestions. She's like, what's up? If you want, what can we do? If you see a P1. Because I've actually thought that, like when I see other P1s, like I go, I wish there was something that I could do to identify like, hey, what's up? I'm a P1. You're a P1. I saw your sticker. Eddie, no, that will not. Eddie. I think, but you got to. No, that will, no. Two index fingers touching each other will not be. Well, for the first year, you're going to take both hands off the wheel. What could you do to identify Ashley's really practicing some.
She's really. Maybe you make the P, right? You make that side-down okay sign, so it's a P, right? No. You hold it up to your chest. Yeah. How do they see it if you're holding it up to your chest? You boast your chest out. What if you did? You're driving. Give them the break sign. Yeah. I think you're having a stroke. He's joking. Yeah, people think you need the Heimlich. Oh, my gosh. Well. Oh, here's one. P1. P1, what did you do, Eddie? Oh. Sexy schoolgirl, finger in the mouth.
Eddie did sexy schoolgirl, finger in the mouth. I'm glad you recognized this guy. I know it well. P1, what it do? Are you there? What is your suggestion to do to other P1s to let them know that you're a P1? Rob, I suggest the air fist bump. The air fist bump. Yeah, give them window love. I like it. Air fist bump where you do. It's kind of Black Panther-ish. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Air fist bump. I like that. So if you see a P1 sticker on somebody's car, and you pass by them, and you guys make eye contact, if you do the air fist bump, it means I'm a P1.
Put it to the window. I like that. Mike, look at your girl, Ashley. What? Oh, Ashley's trying it out? What is she doing? She's going this way, right? P's, so it would go this way. Oh, she's still trying to work something with a P. She's really trying to work something. Okay, Ash, that's a... Don't throw up the gun. That's not good. Yeah, don't throw up the gun. she's doing the air gun that's not good I don't think you should do that especially in Chula Vista don't go to the sock bay I don't know let her try it I always wanted to be able to throw up a gang
you gotta figure this out she's always wanted she's awesome she's just amazing she's awesome mighty show how about about like, since Ashley likes looking at people when they pick their nose, just put your index finger right in your nose. Pick your nose. P1. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I don't know about that one now. That sounds like... If anyone catches me doing that, that's what I'm doing. Listen to this P1 answering machine message. Hey, Mikey, this is P1 Sandwich. You know, I go through
life. I walk around and I see people and i wonder there are p ones too but you can't tell um so i think there should be some sort of marking i don't know if you should brand people or maybe just a wristband like those strong bracelets but when it says p1 army that'd be cool anyways i don't know it's just the kind of thing where i want to be able to see my fellow p1s give them a nod of understanding it would bring us closer together alright asked and answered
it's the air bump it's the air fist bump that if you see another P1 this guy just called but that only works when you see the sticker like how do you know to do the fist bump if you just see someone walking down the street you do the air fist bump so you're just going to walk down a street going like this and see if anyone responds oh I see what you're saying And he says, is there an identifiable thing that we see on them? We're going to brand people. An amazing call. All right, well, wait a minute. I like the bracelet idea. Yeah, well, we got the, we got down, we have it down if you see somebody.
Yeah, if you see a sticker. And you know they're a P1, we know what to do. Yeah, we got it. Now we got to identify it as a P1. I don't know. I like the Livestrong bracelet type thing. Everybody that's a P1, okay, if you're listening, you should get, like, go to a tattoo store and get a tear. Ashley, that's not what that means. Ashley, that's right below your eyes. No, no, no. You can pick the eyes. You can pick which side of the eyes, and as long as it's in the skin. It has to be a tear. That's what you do. No. That's not what that means. That's right below your eyes. And then you just run up to those people and hug them real time.
I like it. Finally a good idea. Okay. Okay. And everybody, make sure you tell Ash what a swastika it is so she knows. Just in case somebody suggests it to her so she knows, oh, that's not good. That's not good. Mikey, I just saw two guys riding a doubles bike decked out in bike gear. Gayest thing I've ever seen. Just wanted to share it with you. That's a B1 mistake. How do you think me and Rob get to work every day?
They're going green. Leave them alone. Oh, crap. That's awesome. Okay. Well, Skye, if it was a Livestrong bracelet, which, by the way, we can get Jay to get for us. That would be rad. Okay, but check it out. But check it out. What would it be? It would have to be, like, identifiable. I would say P1 Army in camouflage. In camo? Oh, yeah. That'd be sick. I wouldn't like camo, but let's discuss. No one would be able to see it, so that's the problem. Yeah, we'd blend into the environment. We'd look like a...
because I like to hide in bushes and then no one would know I'm a P1. Okay, let's see if we could agree on colors. Oh, yeah, right. Are we ever going to do that? We can't agree on anything, please. I like black. I want to be pink. Sean, obviously. We already have Mr. Pink. What about the color of my headphones? Neon green. Neon green. How about black and white for a panda? I like it. Eddie, I like it. Black and white. Oh, but that represents something else, too. Yeah, I like that.
I didn't think of that. How about a furry bracelet? It's all fur. It's all fur. People are like, why is your furry bracelet? Yeah, it was Skye's idea. It was Skye's idea. I just said it. Mikey Show, hello. What about Charger colors? Ooh, blue and gold. We're the Charger station. They have those already. Oh, they already have it? Yeah. Oh, yeah. The Chargers have that. Oh. I think it should be Camouflage with black writing
That's a compromise Yeah Camo with black writing Camo with a black Think about our sticker I mean That's true Makes sense And it's the P1 Army Army It works You did? Oh man I thought you were saying camo I said P1 Army Oh oh oh You got Jeff and Jared In those headphones Don't you Mike? What are they up to? It's Sophie Pick your bra That was last hour It's pick your boyfriend now Can't wait to see who Melissa ends up with
Let's talk to Jay And see if we can maybe do that That'd be rad It means we gotta do another You can do the P1 Army In that cool red of the new sticker That'll really stand out Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not a compromise, but I like it. Yeah, but still good. It has to have black surrounding the red part where it's outlined in black. Done and done. Don't forget the teardrop. Yes.
Yeah. Put a teardrop on there. I love that idea. This is the best idea she's ever had. Hey, dude. Dude, what is your idea? Burger King hat. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We all wear Burger King hats around. You can write what you want on it. You can put 105.3 or you can put hi or whatever the message of the day is on it. Yes. Oh, this is hilarious. An idea of what to do when we see another P1. This is an alternative to the fist bump is the toast.
When you see another P1 You do like you're toasting. Sound like you're holding a glass. Yes. To you. A little secret toast. To you. To you here. And you can even kind of, you know, you do the little, hey, how you doing? How you doing? That's hysterical. That's funny. That is hysterical. Oh, man. P1 Amanda. Hey, I was thinking of colored camouflage bracelet. Colored? It's green and brown, but, like, a different cool color, like. Oh, man, now we're really, I don't know.
It's a little complicated. I've never seen different colored camera. Yeah, you know how sometimes there's, like, pink? Like, Rob wears something weird that's, like, blue. He wears pink every day. He wears, like, something. It's always got to be something pink. Hey. Hey. He's addicted to pink. It's not pink, Sean. It's salmon, all right? Oh, wow. You're right. P-1 AO is on the line. AO. Let's sleep. What up? What's up? Chilling. Hey, anything on the P-1 color, on the, pardon me, P-1 wristband, any color, but make that So let's like bright white so everybody can see him. You know what I mean?
Uh-huh. Make the letters bright white. Make the letters bright white. That's right. No matter what color the actual band is. Yeah, no matter what color. So camo wristband. How about ham-colored? Do you think they make them ham-colored? Or camo with ham. What about, yeah, camo with ham-colored writing? Hamo. Yeah, a ham-o. Can we do it in ham-o? All ham-o. Camel bracelet, it just says ham on it. Strangers are like, what does that stand for?
What does that mean? Why does it say ham on your bracelet? I don't understand why it says ham. P1 Acoustics is on the line. Hey, good morning, Mikey Show. Just wanted to let you guys know, you know, there's a lot of those bands out there that are multicolored like they're talking about with different color camo and solid colors. I think would be great for the guys, black with a red pinstripe, and maybe for the chicks, black with a pink pinstripe. Are there already camo wristbands out there?
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, there is. Big time. What's it for? Like military? You know, if these people come up with just anything and everything to put on there and just, you know, support this or support that. I've seen them at soccer tournaments. I've seen them at, you know, baseball tournaments. I've seen them everywhere. You go to a lot of tournaments. He's a tournament junkie. Tournament junkie. Yeah, yeah. What would be a preference of a chick? What are chicks? Oh, is it always pink as the go-to? No. Money colored.
Yes. Do they have a 20 colored wristband? Money, money, money. I think they should all be the same, regardless of gender. Oh, Skye. And it should say hope on it. Why is that funny? Oh, no. And next to the P in hope is, in parentheses, one. So it's like P1. Yeah, having hope is hilarious. Mikey, how about rainbow-colored bracelets?
Yeah. That's P1 Clubber Lang. Do that. This person is online with you, Eddie. How about pink ham-scented bracelets? That's P1 Ham. This guy's got them all the way up. Ham? Mikey, what about those slap-on bracelets from the 80s? That's P1 Veronica. Mikey, neon orange like Caltrans. then you could always see it from across the county. That's P1 Coop. Those would stand out. You guys, I love the idea.
We got to do something. I love the identifiable P1 thing, you know? You know you're a P1. Plus, that would be the most, like, in-demand item, you know what I mean? I would do that, man, for sure. For sure. 570-1053. What about this? P1 Josh. Hey, good morning, Mike. Good morning. My suggestion would be the bracelet should be black, but the lettering should be camouflaged. And on the sides of P1 Army, there should be, like, stars, like military stars. Now, what would the stars, would they all have the same amount of stars?
I'd say, like, one star on each side. Okay, thank you. I don't know. I feel a little girly with stars. Stars make me feel a little girly. What about hearts? Because now you're accessorizing. Yeah. What about unicorns? Or diamonds. That would be sick though black with camouflage writing. Like P1 in camo? Yeah, but a black bracelet. Sick. Black bracelet, camo, P1 with a teardrop on the side. Yeah. A little teardrop. Face up with a teardrop. A little thing that said I killed someone. Wait, no, I never said anything about that.
I'm a murderer. Let's see. P1 Autumn. Hi. What's up? So my idea was to sell them online and then whatever money you guys get from it, donate to the children's hospital. Dude. Like maybe a buck a bracelet or something? because anybody would pay a buck anybody pay a buck to be in that club especially if it's going to charity if all of it's going to charity I always do that I'm always giving a dollar to the breast cancer man you are the best whenever they ask I give a dollar
it's just a dollar Mikey ditch the bracelets and steal green base cheese head make it a ham hat and you're good to go I'm a ham head how about you Yes, are you a ham head? That is awesome. Or not. Sky's face remained emotionless through Eddie's saying that. What? Why? Well, it's not a legitimate idea. No one would walk around wearing that. You see how many people wear cheese heads? Sky. At the games. There you go. But the point is to recognize people on the street every day.
Who's going to wear that stupid thing every single day? Right here, pal. That is a lie. Make one and I'll wear it. Eddie would testify in court and he'd be up there as a witness with a ham on his head. Mikey, what about a ham bone around the neck? We're going to have track here, guys. We're trying to be serious. I love it. How about the wristband in a sunburn color? Eddie, he can't look at her. He will not look at her.
She's squinting at him. Rob on the show today because I'd like to hear somebody's ideas. What is up with Rob? Well, I just had a couple of genius ones I was going to print, but I think Eddie was heading on that correct chat. All right. 570. I want to hear some of your ideas. Well, I don't know if Kaiser has a color. No. I don't know. What? Skies, give me a look. 570-1053 is the phone number. Our text is 35253. Shut up, you dork.
What's a Kaiser's color? Go back to not paying attention to the show. Come on. Nobody would tell me. Kaiser isn't a color, so I need to know. Oh. Oh, man. I think we've thoroughly exhausted our options. What about pill paste? Does that have a color? That's it. I've never seen either of these. Okay. Hey, I'm going to talk to Jay, our promotion director, and see if we can get this thing rolling. How rad would that be? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you see somebody with a P1 sticker on their car, salute. Like you're giving a toast.
Like you got a wine glass. With every bracelet, could we, in the package, somehow have a replica of Big Charlie and give each one to a P1? And you could put it wherever on. I don't even know what you're talking about. What is that? I don't know what Big Charlie is. No, it's a mole, Mike, on her back. Oh, don't. Come on, man. It's gigantic. It is not. It's like the size of a silver doll. No, it's the size of a tie, you dork. She's so big, she named it Big Charlie. It's totally the size of a dime, but we're like ants. Shut up. 570-1053.
Whatever. You should be ringing a bell in Notre Dame. Wait a second. Even Eddie's giving me my language. Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I was over the line. Over the line. Over the line, over the top. Right. Over the line, over the top. Guys. I removed myself. Okay. I was thinking about it. Does being short have a color? Like, does it have a color that represents being very tight? Oh, no. Like, when we got very, very small. Oh, no.
You can get out some very miniature. No. Beansy, beansy. No. Stop it. Yeah. Duh. It's deteriorated. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Really? It's deteriorating. I wonder who started it. Are you like that now, Rob? How's that color feel on your chalkboard, buddy? Ashley's like Sarah Silverman. Color on your chalkboard. Yeah, Ashley's got my back. Apparently, MTV has now put out every single video that they've ever done on their website. You can see every video MTV's ever done on their website.
They got some crazy bandwidth or something like that? They must have that band space or something. Band book. They figured out how to vlog the stream. That's great. Every video? Everything. How can that be? I don't know, man. They post them all online, and they do it alphabetically so you can click on whatever band name you want. Click on the letter of their name. You can see it all. Awesome. Every one of them. That's amazing. Yeah. That's cool. What are... People think about this, and you can call us, 570-1053 or text us, 35253. you guys think about this here on the show your personal top three videos ever wow impossible
shock and awe holy cow you know i'll tell you what's so tough about it is that you think of something and then somebody else can go but what about and you go oh oh man i forgot that one mm-hmm well it's kind of easy for me because i only watched videos when i was younger like a lot of the like i i can't remember the last time i watched a new music video you know what i mean no wonder tlr tRL is going away it's all my fault yeah it must be my fault i know immediately i'll give them to you and i have to figure out the order okay i know my number
one yeah i know my number one yeah i for sure got two rob you got one oh yeah uh shawnee you got one oh my easy yeah is that the notes you got one oh yeah i think my number one is probably pound cake van halen really it's my number one whoa i don't know i watched that video over and oh and i taped it on vhs cassette i recorded it on vhs cassette in fact i had of van halen videotape and when stuff van halen was on tv i'd stick that tape in and just tape van halen stuff on it so what's the pound cake video like it's a brief synopsis it's extremely
80s even though it came out in the 90s oh good it's still very 80s and it's them on like a sound stage performing mixed in with like this really bad concept idea of like the inside of a dressing room of girls like getting dressed and stuff and yeah sexy it didn't make sense it didn't really make sense but you love it I didn't care about the dressing room stuff all I wanted to see was the in concert like they did this you know them performing
and the performance stuff was the coolest stuff Eddie with his drill yes Eddie doing the drill on the guitar it was the greatest I would put I would also have to put That's my number one. And then I don't know where I would put the number two or three, but in which order they would go. But for sure, Whitesnake, not what you're thinking. Tawny Katane. Nope. Tawny Katane. No. That's here we go again. That's here we go again.
You're a pervo. You were a growing boy. It wasn't that one. You are a pervo. It wasn't that one. Didn't care for the song. Oh, that was so sexy. That's a great song. How dare you. That's a great song. How dare you, sir? Didn't care for it. You're a blasphemous right now. I had never heard, okay, the very first time I ever heard of Whitesnake was I was watching MTV and saw the video for In the Still of the Night. And dude was using a violin bow on his electric guitar. Thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever heard in my life or seen.
And I was like, yeah, I want to know more about this band. And so, I got into Whitesnake, In the Still of the Night. You remember that song? Yeah. Great video. Sing it. In the still of the night, I feel my heart beating heavy, telling me I gotta have more. What's up, Rob? Wow. Great song. Is that in your fight and stunk it? I need to figure out what that is. Awesome. It sounds good, though. I never heard of it, but it sounded cool. It sounded great. What's the matter with you people? I don't know what we're talking about. thing like we're old.
All I know is I'm now currently craving pound cake and it's still the night. The other one, Journey, Separate Ways. Probably cost $4 to make. The entire video, all it is is them singing at a warehouse. That's it. Outside the warehouse. Some of those are the best though. Why do you like that? I don't know. It touches a place in my soul. i love that stupid video of them all singing to the camera okay and there's nothing to it they're just outside a warehouse like you even ask yourself like because those were the days where
just the fact that there was visual to go along with a song was so crazy cool that was so crazy cool and unbelievable and never been done before that they could literally be standing at a warehouse singing and that was cool. You say that now and you're like, are you kidding? Did you guys see at the end of the UFC fight they did a video for 50 cents? And I was like, wow, videos have come a long way, man. Real slick. I cannot allow you to not rank them. You have to put them two and three.
White Snake three, Journey two. Wow. Number one pound kick. Eddie. Honorable mention for Rick Astley, never going to give you up. Oh, yes. One of the greatest videos I've ever made. Thank you. So we can do honorable mentions? It didn't make it quite tough for me, but I would love that to be my honorable mention, too. Now, of course, me and Mike grew up Van Halen fans, so I'm going to start with number three and then move up. Okay. Number three, Hot for Teacher, one of the greatest videos ever made. Not only do they have hot chicks in it, but that goofy kid, what was his name?
Waldo or something? Oh, Waldo. Dude, hysterical. Just all the Van Halen little kids. Dude. Awesome. The image of Eddie walking down the row of desks. Dude, yes. Awesome. Greatest image. What a great video that was. Number two is Private Eyes by Hall & Oates. Yes. One of the dumbest videos ever made, but I find it so entertaining. All it is, is they're standing on a stage, and it's all black, and they're wearing private eye uniforms, like a trench coat and glasses. You've got to be kidding.
That's it. That's the video. Genius. That's the video. Just them wearing those outfits. Right? Brilliant. Awesome. It is an awesome video. And number one, which I think is the greatest video ever, and it will always be the greatest video ever. Share if I can turn back time. Close. It is Sabotage by Beastie Boys. Oh, that's a good one. Great video. Love it. Love it. Bunny, come on. I love it. Hysterical. Shares my honorable mention then, guys. Nathan Wind. Thank you. Huge.
I just broke Nathan Wind. Did you? Yeah. I just broke it. Is that what that smell is? Sky. Some guy farted at CBS the other day. I'm standing in line. I apologize for that three times, dude. I'm standing there in line and I go, oh. It was so inconsiderate. I was at Passion Valley Mall this weekend, walked into San Diego, you know that... Sunglass? Yeah. No, it's close. Oh, that's right. And then, and walked in and walked out because it reeked a fart.
Sorry. Reeked. Dude, I went into a CVS, this was actually a few months ago, I don't remember if I told you guys, but it smelled so bad that I had to do the, I did the shirt over my nose, and I had sunglasses on. It was the summer and I had a hat on and I came to the register and the chick thought I was trying to rob her. Okay. Oh, you are so stupid, Rob. And I'm like, you can't smell it in here? It stinks. I was like, this whole store reeks. Oh, man. It was so inconsiderate, man. I was standing there and I knew it wasn't the, there was a girl in front of me. I knew it wasn't her.
And there was a guy standing. Yeah, right. Really? Would a girl do that? It had to be the guy next to me. She thinks she can squeak one out and get away with it. Oops, I had any rings. Sky, your videos. Oh, she has a bad erase. Oh, come. Oh, wow. Okay. Anyways, your videos. All right. Number three is Dave Matthews' band Crash. So good. Eddie's licking stone face right now. It's so beautiful with the girls dancing around the trees and in the water. I was totally relating to Eddie.
That guy related to every video he said. Oh, I wonder why. Because you guys grew up together. She goes, crash into me. I'm like, that was a video? I've never seen it. I've never seen your video. She just said, you've really never seen Sabotage? That's the only one I've seen. I've seen one of your six stupid videos. And she goes, oh, it's great with the women dancing around the trees. If you see it, you'd know exactly what I'm talking about. It gives me the chills when I watch it. It does, too. It's gorgeous. It's never giving you the chills. one time. It's all filmed in like the forest. It's so beautiful. The shots
that they get. It's gorgeous. Somebody help her. The song's beautiful but then the dancing and the... I wish I would have seen it because you know I'd have your back. Oh dude, it's so good. It's a beautiful video. You are saying that you get the chills when you watch it. Yeah. I want to make you watch it and then look at your arms and see if you'll get it. Yeah, yeah. How awesome would it be? We should take a picture and she's got big chills. Wait, wait, wait. He just YouTubed it. We got to get these all on the website. Let's get all of our lists on the website.
Okay, Scott, I'm seeing it right now. Are you getting chills, Blake? I'm actually really chilling. Shut up. It's gorgeous. Okay, Scott. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. See the girls dancing? Are you choking? And then it focuses on them and then goes out of focus and then on to Dave. Dude, oh, oh, it's gorgeous. Look at that. Look how beautiful that is. Eddie right now has a look on his face. Eddie has it? Figure it out, guys. I will never be in a room alone with you again. I'm sorry.
I'm sorry. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Do you own a van? Dude. What the heck is that? Wait, Eddie. What is that? Sky. Okay. What is that? That's why she likes that video. What? Really? Well, first of all, wait, rewind it, rewind it. Boyd with his violin, what do you want? So he's ripped. I'm sorry, Boyd is ripped. Let's pause, pause.
What the hell? What is that? Sky, what is that? That's creepy stuff in the woods, bro. All of a sudden, there's... I'm sorry it's too artsy for you. I'm sorry you don't understand art. I'm sorry there's not a chick straddling a car. There's a guy, there's a guy like an African tribesman playing the violin. That's my... Pause, pause, pause, pause it, pause it. Can you capture that image? Pause and print. F9. That's fantastic.
Sky, what else? Number two for me. So good. Paula Abdul, Cold-Hearted Snape. Oh, wow. Is that the one with the cat? No, no. So sexy. Scat cat. Is that the one with scat cat? No. It's the one where they're bringing the record execs in to watch the choreography for the new video, and it's really sexy. Ah, yes. That's when I learned dance can really be hot. That's when I learned my body, Mike. That's right, yes. It is sexy and hot.
And how to utilize these. Hello. I can watch that video a million times. It's so good. It's when I discovered the Jumbies. The what? The Jumbies. I don't know what that is. It's my nickname for these. Jumla, Jumla, Jumla, Jumla. They're showing the video right now. Zeth is playing the Cold Hard Snake video. Flashdance called. Yeah, it's a complete ripoff of Flashdance. Skye, look at this sucker. I think they're ripping off Flashdance.
Well, they did. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on. She's got on a chocolate hat. Have you ever seen Flashdance? Yeah, the part at the end where she dances by herself. Do you know anything about chocolate? Do you know anything about Flashdance? So she has a group of people dancing and thrusting all over, like, scaffolding? Well, she's in the same room that they filmed it in for Crying Out Loud. Oh, so there's only one dance studio in all of the world. Don't be so defensive of your fake video. Okay, what's your number one? And my number one is a no-brainer. Barack Obama's acceptance speech. Anyone who appreciates dance or choreography has to have this on their list.
I do. Thriller by Michael Jackson. Please, of course. Oh, my wife and I had such a disagreement about the video Thriller. What? Well, it's universally thought of as one of the greatest videos of all time. And I despised it when it came out. I thought it was so dumb. Like, it looked so fake and so phony baloney. And my brother loved it. He was like, oh, we would, like, argue about it. And Steve would be like, you're so stupid. You're so stupid that you don't even get it.
You don't even get... And I was like, dude, come on. It looks like clay. It looks like the guy's got clay on. What about when he was turning into the werewolf? Dude, that to me was the worst part. Yeah, I could have done without the whole beginning storyline. Dude, it was so... So bad. Like when his eyes were those stupid contacts. Oh, scary. It looked like bad contact lenses. That video did scare me when I was a kid. The only part that I thought was kind of good was that the zombies kind of looked pretty good. But then they were dancing, which was lame.
That was the awesome part. Well, zombies don't dance. You don't know, Mike. Have you ever been a zombie? Once. Yeah. Yeah. I'll take Beat It over that video. For sure. Beat It is a great video. Smooth Criminal is pretty good, too, but no. No, you're wrong. Sean. You're wrong. You're right. You know, I think mine are pretty straightforward. Oh, here we go. All ladies. What is that? Yeah. All ladies. Pretty straightforward. Well, of course. I mean, that's when some of the best videos of all time came. Shout. Yeah. Is Shout in there? No, it's not in there. It was, you know, it's a great song, but not a great video.
Number three, Talking Heads, Once in a Lifetime. Yeah, that's a good video. Great video. Is that the one where he wears the big giant suit? No, that's another one. But yeah, Once in a Lifetime is, he kind of has a really tight suit on and he's like doing all these weird gyrations and things. Is that the one where he goes, da, da, da, da, da, da, lifestyle? Is it that one, Sean? Yeah. That one? How was that? I'm in a parking lot. I'll get back to you on that one. Okay. La, la, la, la.
Is it that one? Yeah, I think it is. okay and then what uh uh number two uh dire straights money for nothing oh yeah that's another dude no eddie dude i agree 100 that it's overrated absolutely dude that was another thriller one oh i love that video it was another thriller everybody loved it everybody loves that was like the standard cool video on mtv i always thought it was kind of i think it won video of the year yeah it did so good it won video of the year money for Oh, look at that crazy animation.
That's what it was. It was groundbreaking for the time. Now it's not that great. Yeah, back then it was awesome, dude. What's your number one? Number one, A-ha, take on me. Best video of all time. Yeah, Sean. So awesome. So transparent. Ashley. Yeah? Madonna. Is Madonna in yours? No. Okay. My number three favorite music video of all time is Red Hot Chili Peppers under the bridge. Uh-oh. Uh-oh.
Why? What about it do you love? Well, growing up, me and my friends always I haven't got it. I don't like it. We enjoyed watching it because when Anthony Kedis runs and his pecs jiggle and we thought it was funny. Okay. We would watch it over and over again. And it was one of my Oh, look, it was like the funniest thing of all time for us. Okay. That's cool. Number two. Wait, that was number one? No, that was number three. Oh, okay. Number two is Aaliyah, Are You That Somebody?
You guys probably have never even seen it. I don't even know who that is. This is such a huge part of my life growing up. African-American gal, isn't it? Mm-hmm. And she died in a plane crash. Oh, that one. Thanks for bringing the room down. Yeah. Like, really upset me. But growing up, that music video, like, just. What is it? It's just, she's such a good dancer, Mike. And she's so, like, she's so good with, she can hip hop. She's, like, dancing. We're different ages. We are different ages. Yeah. And growing up, all I wanted to do was be a backup dancer in that freaking video with Aaliyah. And so what does she do?
She just dances. Hip hop. It's like her on a stage dancing? And she's got, like, a couple girls. Well, no, there's a couple different scenes, like, cool outfits and just really. Wait a second. Cool dancing. Zeth is showing it on the screen right now. Best video ever. They're in, like, a cave dancing, and she's, like, got a hawk with her for some reason. Oh, she's so badass. What the hell? She's, Aaliyah's so sick. She's in a, at one point, they're in a cave, and they're dancing. Timberland's in the video, too. Okay, did this movie, yeah, did this accompany the movie The Nutty Professor? Because Eddie Murphy and The Nutty Professor are being brought.
That has to. Might have. Ashley is so interesting. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The Nutty Professor video. She was, like, my idol growing up. Aaliyah was, like, my idol growing up. I would give anything to be able to dance like her in that video. What's your number one? And then my number one is Coolio, Gangsta's Paradise. For real? I would wait for the TV. I would wait by the TV every single night for it to replay. That's another one that has movie clips in it. Yeah, from Dangerous Minds. Yeah. And you would wait for them to show it and you would love it? Every single night that TRL was on and it would be number one.
I remember it was like number one on TRL for like 12 weeks straight or something crazy like that. How does Gangsta's Paradise go? Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. I don't want to put a wall in what the value of it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that one. I realized there's nothing left. Yeah, yeah, that was a big hit for a long time, right? That's huge. Sing the hook. Yeah. Dinner with me is going to paradise. No, sing the hook. Yeah. What the hook? I have to get it in my head.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, get it in your head. I don't know. And then sing us a hug. I have to hear it. Oh, no. No. Boston Robert. Oh. No, no. Oh, and he's already upset. I just... Well, you know it, dude. He's 25. Don't do what I think you're about to do. Rob's 25. What am I going to do? Be cool. Just be cool. Hey, can I just say, does anybody remember that Land of Confusion with all the Muppets? Yes. Yeah. Dude, did you like that? No, but that used to freak me out. Yeah, that's very creepy. It was creepy, very creepy. It creeped me out, and Gabe had it on, like, two weeks ago. And I, like, still couldn't watch it.
I was, like, nah. Scared you? Yeah, the Reagan and, I don't know. The Reagan puppet? Spitting and sweating puppets. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's, like, really sweaty. And Phil Collins in that is, like, he should have had to make the puppet, like, a little bit better, dude. But that thing is, like, I don't want to wake up and have that pop out. Oh, yeah. Right now, is that scary? It's scary. Oh, yeah, the Reagan and the Phil Collins puppet. Like, oh, dude, no. No, what made you do that? Yeah, it looks like a bad dream. Really bad dream, right?
All right, so what are yours, Rob? Talking about top three videos of all time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You got everybody different ages. I'm 38. Eddie is 35. Sky is 31. Sean's 38. Ashley's 25. Rob's 25. And Zeth is 23. Wait till we hear Zeth. Oh, my God. Do you guys remember Fat Boy Slim came out with this song, Weapon of Choice? And it wasn't even about the song, but the Chris Walken video where he's tap dancing through the hotel. That's pretty cool. That's number three. Good choice. Chris Walken, tap dancing. You can't beat that.
All right. Number two, my favorite video when I was growing up, November Rain. Oh. That almost made my list. It's an epic video. It has everything in it, and the video goes on for like seven minutes. Yeah, it's like a movie. Yeah, so you can't beat that. And then, of course, I like that impression, Eddie. That is good. Dude, with Slash's Planet and Desert Man. Yeah. I don't remember the video. I remember Rain, really? I can't remember. I remember there was like a wedding. Epic tale, dude. Crazy stuff happens. It's Victoria's Secret wife that's in there.
It's an epic tale. It's long. It's like eight minutes long. You need like an afternoon to watch the whole thing. You've got to set aside a day. Walk up a couple of hours every day. That was a good one, yeah. And then number one, of course, Dropkick Murphy's shipping up to Boston. That makes me want to fight people. That's your number one? Yeah. Do you have a video for this? Yeah. That's what I look for in a video. Is it from The Departed? Making me want to fight. No, but it's... No, I said I do do that. When I'm looking for a good video, I want to think, what makes me want to punch something? And then I play it over and over. Well, that Dave Matthews video sure made me want to punch something.
Yes. You have no heart, sir. Okay. But a lot of taste. That's right. Okay. Odors. 23-year-old Zethi and O's. Oh, man. What do we got over here? Okay, so number three would probably have to be Freak on a Leash by Korn. Oh, that's a good one. With the bullet going through everything. Oh, yeah. Wow. Oh, yeah. I don't remember. I was probably done watching MTV by that time. Well, it was last week, so. No, that's a really good one. He's putting it up for me so I can see.
Yeah, I think it was probably like 14 or 15 when that came out. Oh, wow, man. I did not say things like that. I was like 27. Yeah. Yeah. We played it as a current. Yeah. Right? Oh, it's a cartoon? No, just little parts of it. There's little cartoon clips. Oh, I remember this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's really cool. It follows the bullet around the town. It goes through a bunch of stuff. It's pretty cool. No wonder kids are so weird. He was 14 years old watching this creepy video. No kidding. That was a lot. What else? Second one would be Peter Gabriel Sledgehammer. Oh, yeah.
I remember that. Yeah, I remember watching that when I was real young, thinking it was the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life. That's cool. Yeah, yeah. And then what else? Number one is kind of an obscure video, but it makes me laugh every time. It's a song called Coffee and TV by Blur. That's a band, Blur? Yeah. Let me pull it up. Sorry, I'm old. Blur does that song, woo-hoo! Yeah. Oh, they do that? Yeah. If you do what I'm able, woo-hoo! Yes, that one. People can hear you.
Woo-hoo! So the coffee and TV video, it's real weird. It's about a little milk carton that goes and finds the missing person on the side of it. Dude, he's showing it right now, and it looks fantastic. It's real cool. It looks great. Okay, let's get them all online so people can go watch them. Let's get them on MikeyShow.com. People can go watch them. Right back. This is the Mikey Show. Oh, my heart is pounding like Thor's hammer on Dr. Doomsday canium-infused face paint. Rock 105.3. It's Monday night, so that means that Prison Break is going to be on tonight, 9 o'clock on Fox 5 San Diego. Prison Break is so good this season. They got all those great characters back that you love from the first season. Sarah Tancredi got her head put back on her shoulders, which is awesome. Mahone, Sucre, we lost Bellic a few weeks ago, RIP, yeah, it happens. And T-Bag is back.
Everybody loves the one-armed teabag, everybody's favorite villain. Okay, that just sounds weird. Well, he only has one arm. I mean, and his fake arm is, like, so bad-looking. It's, like, the worst fake arm ever created. Nice. Yeah, but these are great characters. The story is great. They're looking for Scylla, which is the company's, like, little black book. And they're looking for it. And tonight they're making the final preparations to get Scylla. And they say that teabag reaches the point of no return tonight. Sounds painful. Yeah. Willpower is only part of it. There just comes a time when you know tobacco has to go. For me, it was when I was on leave, around the holidays, and I saw my three-year-old walking around pretending to smoke. I knew it was time. I guess it hit me when I was on the phone with my folks and I started having this coughing fit. It was so bad, I had to hang up and call them back later. That got me going. There was no magic in my decision, just a little romance, I guess.
A girl I was interested in really hated the smell, hated tobacco. She motivated me. Fact is, she still does. To learn how to quit, visit YouCanQuit2.org. now back to the mikey show oh my gosh no way featuring mikey i like to communicate through writing eddie i wish i could go golfing every day and play video games all day long and do all You know how I'm not a big fan of combining foods? Like, I don't like to, you know, like, yeah. Because I get seasick pretty easily now. Boston Rob. I'm not a sheep, Mike. That's right, he's not a sheep. And Ashley. Evidently, I talk to get attention.
Save that one. I do not. You can't make me. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Oh, you dropped a bomb on me, didn't you? it's 9 27 20 000 people marched in downtown san diego this weekend for equality for same-sex couples yeah trevor often feels blindsided by the treatment from the padres and the jake pv talks with the braves are apparently over really yep i wonder where he's gonna go that's a great question because it doesn't look like the cubs
are an option now. PB doesn't want to play for an AL team. So, I don't know, man. Huh. Maybe we should start a team. Yeah. He can join us. Hey. You think he'd be in on that? Maybe. Okay. So, my I don't understand baseball. But I'm guessing like You're cute. But I'm guessing like, maybe these other clubs, they could offer them like a hundred bucks, okay? Let's say, choosing a number here. A hundred bucks. Padres got like $25, right?
And that is the way it would work, right? I'm just trying, because I don't know how much actual, so I'm just trying to put it in like. Well, it has nothing new money. Does it? No, it's about players, because they're trading them. So with the Braves, the Padres are asking for certain guys that they want, and the Braves are like, well, there's no way I'm giving up that guy. So the trade talks are falling through. But I'm guessing that the only reason that it's even happening at all is because the other guys are going to offer him a salary for him personally that's more money than he's making now, right? No, no.
His contract is set, and so it has nothing to do with money. So they're just doing this because they want prospects. The Padres want to get rid of his salary, and they want younger guys to come in who aren't going to cost nearly as much. Oh, dude, I didn't even realize that was the deal. You know what I thought the deal was? I thought he was a free agent, and he's out there, and he's going to find a team. No, no, no. He's locked up. He's actually locked up to a very good contract for the Padres, but even that's too much for them now, apparently, and they're looking for other guys. That's shady.
That sounds shady to me. That's the team right now. Someone's making a lot of money. Someone is. You don't know who it is? I'll tell you who it is. It's John Morris. And his ex-wife. Wow. it's almost like that movie major league right what happened in that the i forget the exact story but it was the widow young widowed wife who took over the team and uh wanted them to lose so that she can move the team to miami i believe yeah that's exactly what's going on here
she wants to move the team to Miami yep you gotta watch that there is a team you learn everything through movies how are you debating this at least I learned things I did too and I just applied it he just told us she's trying to move the team to Miami so Rob is saying the Padres are trying to move to Miami yes with a young widowed with a young widowed mom my bad what a trip I didn't know that yeah that makes me angry well they want to get rid of all the salaries so Khalil's gone it's not cool all these guys are gone they're dumping salaries it's a fire sale Boy, if you're a Padre fan, doesn't that kind of make you mad?
I'm not even a Padre fan. That upsets me. That's not right. You can't do that. Like, you have fans, dude. Right. They don't care. They don't care, and that's really a bummer. The same fans who voted to give you that beautiful ballpark. Well, it was promised to us that if we built that ballpark, they would put out a winning team. If I hit the lottery, I'll buy the Padres, and I'll turn this organization around. That, I believe, is the truth. I believe that if he won the lottery... So he would buy the Padres over the Sox? No, I couldn't buy the Sox. I just couldn't afford it.
I told Sarissa, I've already discussed this. I said, if I hit the lottery... You've had this conversation? She must love these conversations. I would love to hear these conversations. I told her, I said, because I could never, never, never afford the Red Sox. You'd have to hit a few lotteries. You couldn't live through it either. If you wanted the Red Sox, if you had any money... I couldn't. You couldn't take it. I would die very young. Yeah. Yeah, I would not be able to. Guys, guys, guys, I want you to imagine that Rob. And my heart would get in the way of things, like the Manny trade would have went very sour. I wouldn't be able to hold myself together like Theo. Imagine Rob buying the Red Sox, and it's now private owner, Robert Stevens, now owns the Red Sox.
That's the owner of the Red Sox. Oh, I like it. Do I get a name thing outside my door? Yes. Oh, that is awesome. And so I want you to, if you can, imagine, if you will, game seven of the World Series in Boston with him sitting up in his skybox with a camera shot, and they're down by four runs at the bottom of the night. Just throwing up all over the place. I was just, I would be throwing up everywhere. He wouldn't be able to handle it. He would be in the papers all the time because of his crazy superstitions. Everyone would be talking.
The whole town would talk about how he... He gets into a fist fight with Steinbrenner. Right? Seriously. I'd like to, Hank. At least you could operate if you were the Padre owner. Yeah, but that's one of the things I'd love to do, you know? Like, Mark Cuban's got it made, dude. He's a big sports fan. He owns a team. Like, ah, that'd be so much fun. And I think even he has shown you. I mean, I think Mark Cuban has proven to the world a regular guy can own a team and win. Yeah, but I understand that I'm not smart enough to do any of that, so I'd just hire Eddie. I would just be the money behind everything. And I would just hire Eddie.
I'd love that. And then, you know. Give him a budget. Oh, yeah. I'd give you a budget. Money, money, money. But it's just unfair. Sorry, Brian Giles. I'm not giving you $9 million. Dude, that makes me so mad. Like, how are you cutting Peavey's salary and you pick up $9 million on Brian Giles? Why did it happen like that? That doesn't make sense. Well, they can't get anything for Brian Giles. So if they could trade Brian Giles and get what they're going to get for Peavey, they would do it. They would get nothing for Brian Giles. I totally get that. But why pay him so much money? Why give him so much? They were already on the hook for, what was it, is that three?
I think three-five, something like that. Three million for Brian, no matter what. And so they thought, well, we're basically getting Brian for five million instead of, you know, cutting him and losing three million. So they're looking at it as like, oh, we're getting a deal out of this by signing Bryles. And listen, I know I say a lot of stuff about Brian Giles, but Brian Giles is a decent player at this point in his career. I mean, he gets on base a lot. you know he walks a lot he hits for average um he does some decent things i wouldn't he's not worth nine million dollars by any means he's worth about four i would say if if that but uh but you
know it's hard to watch every player that i've grown to love on this team get shipped away because they don't want to spend money and that sucks man you know they're dropping payroll to below like 30 million which i mean manny is going to make that in one season one guy is going to make that in a season where our entire team isn't going to win. to make what Manny makes so I mean that's hard to watch you know you know it's too bad that a city can't like go well you promised us this and it didn't happen so you know sorry we got to take it to court class action well I mean you don't have to go to games yeah that's one way to show them
that hey look we're fed up with this stuff and you know I mean I'm very close with a lot of people over at the Pudges organization, and I'm not saying to do that, but you know, I mean, if you're a fan and you're fed up with this kind of thing, then, you know, that's the one way you show them. Because, dude, I'm telling you, it's upsetting. It does. It's very hard to watch. And next year, you think that the team was bad this year? I know. Good luck. I don't care who we get for BV. It's going to be rough. We are getting some text messages in about a variety of
things. Hey, Mikey, I want to hear Sean's take on the new Star Trek movie. I saw the preview at the movies and quickly thought of Jeremy. That's P1 Fryer. Dude, they showed the trailer in front of the Quantum of Solace. I'm not even that big of a Star Trek fan. I like it, but I'm not a huge fan. That gave me chills. That was awesome. I'm so furious because Eddie told me earlier that he saw the new Trek trailer before Quantum of Solace. I went to see the same movie. They didn't show it. That sucks. Yeah, and so, you know, I looked online, I looked everywhere, it's nowhere to be found.
It's crazy. Did they actually show stuff? You can't find the trailer online? No, they don't have it online yet. Because in what they've released so far, it's like they'll only show like a little shot of the ship. It was a full trailer. It's a really interesting concept. They show this kind of young kid riding a motorcycle on Earth. Yeah. And then, you know, and he's riding through like a desert, and then they kind of pan out, and you see this giant like space station built on Earth. And it's Kirk as a teenager. And they show him going to the academy. And then, you know, he graduates. And he gets his own ship, which is the Enterprise.
Meets Spock. And they show Spock as a young guy growing up. And his father, who is Leonard Nimoy, like talking to him and teaching him stuff. And, you know, they show all kinds of crazy action scenes. What did you just say, Sean? I said that's Sarek. That's his father. He's a Vulcan ambassador. Go ahead. I'm sorry. What about Scotty? Continue. His mother is a human. Go ahead. Scotty. Yeah, he knows all about Sarek, and he searches for the word human when describing it. Sarek comes to him immediately, and his mind was searching for the word human.
Well, I was going to say Taryn, but everybody would go, mm-mm. Well, you. What the? Well, not everybody. Maybe not everybody. Yeah, it looked really cool. I'm really stoked to see it. Wow. The action looked great. J.J. Abrams, right? Yeah, and they show Spock and Kirk getting into a fist fight, which is crazy. That is crazy, because Spock is a lot stronger. Vulcans are a lot stronger. I don't think that's what Eddie meant. When did he beam him up?
The Terrans, I mean. All right. What did you just say? Scotty. Actually, I just want to know about Scotty. I guess. I'm not positive, Sean, but it's about the crew, the entire crew, right? Yeah, everybody's on there. Scotty's on there. Yeah, Scotty's like a young dude. Yeah, everyone. Sulu, everyone. Yeah, the other guy at Sulu is the guy from Harold and Kumar, and I'm like, dude, you don't look like Sulu. The concept... You're like American, bro. Seriously. The concept of Star Wars that took place in the past, Star Trek takes place in the future? Yes. Well, no. Well, eh.
Interesting. There we go. Yeah, yeah. I will say yes, Mike. I will say yes. Why is this a debate? It's hard for, you know, I know that it says a long time ago on a galaxy far, far away. But it's hard for you to believe that that's in the past because of all the futuristic things in Star Wars. It's a whole debate for another time. Another time. But to them, right, it was the past. So think how advanced they must be now. Wow. If they were that advanced then. Eddie, if you go to Mission Valley Theater You can bring your own food
That's P1 Foodie I don't want to bring my own food That's one of my pet peeves I hate when people do that Dude, when I hear people opening soda cans It makes me so angry I don't know It's just a thing with me I understand It just annoys me I hate smelling other people's food You don't like tuna salad sandwiches? Is somebody bringing lobster bisque and Tupperware? What's wrong with that? Just stay home. What's wrong with that? Just stay home.
Okay. Bricks out a can of clam chowder. That's so gross. Thermos of clam chowder. A little salmon tartare. Congealed. Gross. I brought some sushi for lunch. What's the problem? I brought in a raw carp. Let's eat. Looks like I get to enjoy it too. Yeah. A little spicy tuna. Whale blubber, anyone? That's right. You want to make a lamp with me? Or some perfume. Dog food.
Oh, my gosh. Blue. It tries to be nuts. Getting texts about people writing in, texting us about their videos. This person's list would be number one, Metallica Inner Sandman. Number two, Pearl Jam Jeremy. Number three, Devo Whippet. Yes, Pearl Jam Jeremy. That one was an honorable mention. That's right. P1 Campo Chick Mikey what about Soundgarden Black Hole Sun best video ever that's P1 Dan agreed again Mikey did you notice that Ashley's top two videos were for movie soundtracks The Nutty Professor and Dangerous Minds that's P1 Dan that's interesting
it is interesting she liked those movie soundtracks I don't know why that is Mikey what about Blind Melon No Rain with a cute bumblebee that's P1 Morgan I love that song I don't know about that one let's see am I missing this guy went to the uh spa on friday oh oh mama you're worth it okay you're worth it let's take a moment to talk to all of san diego and if you ever you're worth it you're worth it
Well, thank you. I agree. Acknowledge it. Well, thank you. I appreciate that, Ashley. It's a spa phrase. I'm just saying, if anyone... Because you're worth it. You're worth it. It's actually from Oprah. Hey, I'm about to do a PSA here. You're worth it! This is a public service announcement to all of San Diego. If you are ever going to go to any spa... Hold on. Before you make this announcement, I want to be clear. We're talking spa or... Public service announcement to all of San Diego. I want to be clear. He's not doing that right now.
He's not. I'm confused. He wants to know. He's not going there right now. Hang on. Hey, this is a serious thing. I'm trying to help people. Can we just be clear? Don't stop me from helping people. I've never been to the other thing, so I can't relate. Eddie's talking about the jacuzzi club. Oh, that's what he said. I said jacuzzi club. Come on. I said jacuzzi club. Mike means bathhouse. I said jacuzzi club. I know what you said, but. You guys. Skye, did I do anything wrong? That's all I need to know in this situation. No, Mike's cool.
Eddie, Eddie, jerk face. I'm just trying to help people, and Eddie's trying to bring out crap. Hold on a minute. We got to have a drop of that lady that goes, Eddie's always trying to act like he doesn't know what's going on. I don't even know what I said that was incorrect. I'm trying to make things clear. You're putting words in Mike's mouth that Mike didn't say. Well, listen. How did I do that? You said he meant bathhouse, and he didn't. That's what jacuzzi clubs are. No, they're not. I thought the word was interchangeable. Can I just give my public service announcement? Please, by all means.
Hey, San Diego. Bring your own towels or something? Anyone who is... Don't use room three. Hey, shut your mouth. Okay, have that. If anyone in San Diego, man or woman, is planning on getting a massage, a facial, whatever. Sky. Too many jokes. Pasta, spa, and resort is legit. The best time I have ever, ever had, worth every penny. I spent almost four hours enjoying all the freebies that come along with your service there.
There is too many drops in this. I don't know what to do. Has anyone ever had a Roman shower before? Because they are awesome. I didn't even know what it was. Send it now. Send it now. Send it. I didn't even know what it was. Send it. Send this whole thing to Sean. Get on top of it. I didn't even know what it was. Dude, and the spa and the steam room and the sauna. Dude, it was awesome. She might as well have just said, I really like it with black guys. Why did I say that was wrong?
Nothing wrong. Just hysterical. Oh, my God. Oh, my goodness. Has anyone ever had a Roman shower? Oh, it's so awesome. It's, like, hot, like, it's, like, spa temperature water that comes from, and it's under, like, heavy pressure, so it comes, it's like a second massage. Oh, wow. Keep talking. So, yeah, you can go to the La Costa Spa and Resort, you get your treatment, you pay for, like, a massage, and then you can spend all day there. You're standing in the shower. You're using all the goodies.
And a Roman man with a soldier. He walks in with a sword in his shield, like a little Roman skirt. He says, hello, ma'am. Anybody for a shower? Did someone here call for a Roman shower? The massage therapist recommended it, but you can use all their facilities. Dude, that place, never been there before. The best. Really? The best. Wow. So good. What a shock. La Costa's Vos. My goodness. I'm sorry.
I'm just trying to help people. That is fantastic. That was the place that I went to. Oh, my gosh. Where I had the really embarrassing thing where you have to get naked and put on the robe. Oh, boy. And I was so fat, I couldn't close the robe completely, you know. You know, and I sat down, and it took me, like, 30 minutes to realize that I was exposing myself to the room. Your handbrain can't do it. Oh, yeah, because when you wait for your massage. Sir, you got some gum on your thigh. Oh, oh, oh, my gosh.
Oh, my gosh. Sir, you got a package of Big League Two around here. Oh, hey. Anyway, back to the Roman Oban shower. It was awesome. Has anyone heard of a Roman Oban shower? I'll take two. It's a whole thing, and you can experience it if you get a service there. It is delightful. Will you all grow up? You're fantastic. You're immature. I am. There is no doubt about that.
Because that's funny, lady. Props to them. How long were you there? I was there for almost four hours. I had an hour massage. And I was there for almost... Ma'am, we have to close. Please. Can you... We have to close shop. Yeah. I'm not leaving. I'd like another shower. Yes. Yeah. And... I'd like to order two more of those. Yeah. Crazy. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself Hey there's this There it is

Oh, K-I-O. Nice. Sky has a list
of the top 10 entertainers of 08. Patsy Cline. Renee Zellweger. Danny Gans. Dumb Gans. We have an audience every year. Shump. Okay, so the way this goes, this is Entertainment Weekly's Top Ten Entertainers of 2008. So some of these are groups of people, like cast of a movie or musical groups. Cats. Planet of the Apes. What about cats? Jonas Brothers. Yes, Ashley, the Jonas Brothers come in number nine.
Sherry Lewis with that lamb chop. She's so funny. The cast of the match game. Madonna. Mimey Slimy. No. Cast the Blossom. No. No. Yes. Jay Leno. That's every guest. I'll count that one. They list number 10 as the talking heads, which include Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and all the late night hosts. Ellen. Yeah, so she'd be in there, too.
Oh. Wow, she really slapped you right down. You just got dealt. Chester the cheetah. You got dealt. Why would Chester the cheetah be a... Hey, what's up? You got dealt. Okay, that's not... I finally saw that thing you guys were talking about. Jim and Derek. Jim and Derek. Oh, Tim and Eric. Tim and Eric. Oh, there we go. Oh, my mom. Great job. Jabberwockies.
Barf. Kanye. Heath Ledger. Too soon? Nah. He is part of a group that's... The cast of The Dark Knight. Yes, number three is the casting crew of The Dark Knight. What's that, uh... Lisa Loeb. St. Elmo's Fire, all those kids. The Brat Pack? The Brat Pack. Yeah, the Brat Pack, dude. All those kids. Judd Nelson. Judge Reinhold.
All those guys. Emilio Estevez. 2008. C. Thomas Howell. John Goodman. Sorry, just their number 11, so they just missed the list. What's his face? Robert Downey Jr. Number one is Robert Downey Jr. From Iron Man to Tropic Thunder, it was a huge year for him. What about all the What's Up guys from the... What about all of them? Yeah.
Yes. All right. What about the frogs? What's up? Michael Phelps. Hate that guy. Kennedy, too. Get off my TV, dude. Yeah, you're kind of ugly. Hey, come on, guys. Okay. By kind of, you mean really? Yeah, very much so. Bear blunder. Yeah. I guess that's every guest, then. We went through that entire thing. That was really great, guys. All right. Martin Scorsese. Yeah, what about Martin Scorsese? Oh, yeah. The cast of The Departed. Frank Capra.
Right? Gone, baby, gone. You're yelling. Oh. Did you know you were shouting? What, Sean? I'm sorry, Sean. No, it's all right. I know you were trying to speak there, and Rob was screaming. Just yelled at you for no reason. Chad Lowe. Chad Johnson. Bridget Nielsen. Yeah, Ocho Cinco. Grace Jones. Put it on the board. Yeah. Buddy boy. Is Ashley I am to anyone? Not me yet. Did you give up?
Oh, Steven Seagal. High School Musical. I hate when you do that. What do you mean? You're about to give a legitimate guess that just dawned on you. I did. Cast a Melrose. No Sky, no high school? No, sorry. Nirvana. Tom Bergeron. Tom Petty. Tom Brady. And the Heartbreakers. Tom Green. Tom Selleck. Tommy Tom. Rosanna Arquette.
Roman Showers. Okay, I don't need to be on that one. In any way, shape, or form. Google it. Boner from growing pains. Yeah. Put it on. Don't start with that. You guys think Ashley's kind of like our boner? You're not going to start with that. Because you tried to start with that in the coffee lobby. And you're not going to start with that here. You're not going to do it. Aren't they mutually exclusive? Come on, boner. Hey, you're not.
She's boner. You're not. I walk into the freaking coffee lobby at a commercial break a couple, an hour ago. Eddie and Rob were in there being jackholes. I go in there to get a little coffee and Eddie's like, oh, hey, what's up, boner? I'm like, boner. And that was it. And then that was it. It works. It works. It totally works. And this is my life. Oh, oh, Eddie or Lorenzo Llamas from Renegade. Yes. Check in. Eddie, you just guessed yourself. Yeah. What about the little rascals? Too soon? Too soon? Too soon.
How about Bernie Mac? That was just rude. Wait, Buddy Ebsen. Blatantly too soon. Too soon? Are you ready for me to tell you? I assume so. Yes, who is it? Number eight, The Women of Sex and the City. Of course. Get out of here. The movie wasn't that big of a deal. It was huge. Number seven, Rock Band, The Game. Dumb. What? That's an entertainer. That's the entertainer of the year. Number six, Lil Wayne. Oh, heck yeah. Who's that? L.I.L. Wayne.
He's freaking on every, he's hooking every single track that's on the freaking radio right now. Is he a G-Unit? A little hip-hop. Yeah, he's just Lil Wayne. Masterpiece son, right? Yes. That's him. He's so money. Oh, I know you. Yeah, now I know you. Number five, Stephanie Meyer, the author of Twilight. Hold on a second. Oh, I've heard about that. Hello? Hey, what are you guys called? Dr. Wayne? No. Lil Wayne. I made the entertainer of the year, huh? No. Lil Wayne. L-I-L.
Lil Wayne. Probably my guns and my buns. Okay. Yuck. No. Two things I am firing when ready. What? Your buns? Guns and my buns. Dude, no. All the ladies love. Yuck. You ask any girl right now what makes a fox, and she will tell you. A fox? You're so out of it. Buns. Rock-hard buns, buddy. That is actually true, Dr. Wayne. It's true. Girls want to see buns of steel. Don't play a part of this. I'm not mad at a nice bun on the back. A nice pair of 501s is what you're saying? How old are you, Dr. Wayne?
I mean, how old am I? It's none of your business. You never ask a guy how old he is. You don't ask ladies how old they are. The thing is, you never ask a woman. But we've, I don't... Whatever your style, man. Jordache, 501s, Wranglers, whatever you're into. Exactly. You're not getting between him and his Jordache. Bottom line is... I've heard that. That's right. Why don't you leave me alone on the IM, too? You should be working. It's not me, dude. You're always hitting me up on that sucker. But I'm not. I'm not.
You get the package I sent over? No, you're creepy. I sent you a case of beer, buddy. Whoa. Go check the room. I will check for that. The coffee lobby. Yeah. I'll go with boner. All right, I've got to go. I have too many jokes to make. So number five, Stephanie Meyer, the author of Twilight. Number four, the cast of Gossip Girls. And the last one we missed was number two. Abe Vigoda. Tina Fey. Oh.
It's synonymous with that. Virtually the same person. I think that's definitely a no-brainer. Do you guys want to know why Jessica Simpson's insecure? Why? What would you think? What do you think she says? Something on her body she's insecure about. Giant boobs. Some girls are insecure. If girls have big boobs, they're insecure about it. Horse mouth. Yeah, giant teeth. It is not her teeth. What else could it be? Hooves. Eddie actually got it. Tail.
Eddie got it. See, what's up? Her feet. Yeah, she says she's insecure about her feet. So is Ashley, man. She's got clubber feet over there, you know what I mean? She says. That's not nice. She says she does. I've never heard her say that. She says she has a very prominent club in her foot. She didn't say that? Can we not? I thought that's what she said. Yeah, Jessica says she's insecure about her feet because her toes are. You're bringing the bell at Notre Dame, right? The foot. The foot itself. Because her toes are longer than her fingers, according to her. According to her. Why did you just laugh guilty, Ashley?
You have a laugh right now like, oh man, I got that too. I did not. You did laugh that way. You need surgery. I'm a woman. They're dainty. Her feet are dainty. That's me. That's right. Little dainty feet. Let's see. 570-1053. That's our phone number. So call it if you really want to. Thank you. foot surgery. Big time. So all these no on eight people are like protesting and flipping out. It's not stopping, yeah.
And check this out. Listen to what Melissa Etheridge, Melissa Etheridge Why did Eddie Why did Eddie? Did you think of a joke? I don't know. I don't know. She said she wasn't going to pay her taxes. Oh, get out of here. Okay. Okay, let it do that. Like at all? Yeah. That's what she said because she was mad. Don't do it then. That's not allowed. See what happens. Well, if she's not, you know, Granted, the same rights as every other California. Why should she have to pay the same amount of taxes as every other California? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't do it then. We'll see what happens. That seems like a kind of poor sport, you know? Well, it's just, you know, trying to be fair, Mike.
That means not paying your taxes? Well, why should she have to pay as much as everyone else when she's not given the same amount of rights as everyone else? Because it's illegal. To not give the equal rights? I agree, Mike. Oh, yeah. She's something else over there. Got you there. This girl has one Roman shower and she thinks she can just come in here. So wrong. Oh, it felt good. Doesn't that sound so dirty when you say it? I mean, honestly, it turns out that's a legitimate thing at the spa, but you say it and you're like, you know.
Not according to Google. Hey, creepy. I'm creepy. I don't know what you're talking about. I'm creepy when the Roman shower is on. Hit it up one time. Whatever. Do not Google images on that one. No. No. Google news story. Okay. Put in Vice and then Roman showers. All right. Barf. Here's Melissa Etheridge talking to Oprah Winfrey about not paying her taxes because of eight passing. Cut 24.
I was surprised, Melissa, that you so vocally and so publicly said, I'm not going to pay my taxes. I'm thinking the IRS is looking at you right now, and they're thinking we're going to do it. So is my accountant. He was surprised, too. I'm surprised he did that. Hey, are you going to visit me in jail? No. You know what? I tell people I have still April to make true on that blog. That was letting off a lot of steam, and I think what I wanted to do was show the absurdity Of a populist thinking that they can just take a right away or deny someone a right that is allowed other people that aren't in this minority group and yet be completely fine taking 100% of our taxes.
It doesn't make sense. She's not doing push-ups. She's not lifting weights. She's not doing chin-ups, Eddie. So stop pretending she is. I said to my accountant, you got me or what? Four. Five. Five. I also six. Ninety-eight. Ninety-nine. Oh, yeah. Deep burn. So deep. Wow.
They gave me a head rash What else What else is good We got so many stories Sky said by the way No surprise to anybody I guess I'm going to sound naive I didn't know Wanda Sykes was like gay I didn't get that Sky said that earlier No surprise to anybody But guess who turned out to be gay Yeah, finally. Yeah.
And I was like, you know, Clay Aiken, I got it. I thought Wanda had kids and stuff. I didn't know. I had no idea. I had no idea anything about Wanda, but she didn't necessarily put off a gay vibe. Oh, I don't know. Maybe that was just me. This guy's got good gaydar. I do have good gaydar. Wicked good. I think she does a little bit. That's right. Yeah. So, but she announced over the weekend she attended a gay rights rally in Vegas, and she said, you know, that she doesn't talk about her sexual orientation. She didn't really feel like she had to. She was just living her life, not in the closet, but just living it. But now with this whole Prop 8 thing coming out, you know, she figured she should use her voice and her celebrity to cause.
So she's gay. Who knew? You're gay. I did. Sky knew. I knew. Sky knew. Who else is gay? This guy's like, oh, I mean, da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Let's see. USA Network signed the show Monk for its final season. It's ending. Never seen it once. It's eighth and final season. You watch that, right, Sean? You got to watch it. Monk? Yeah? No. The total OCD germaphobe guy.
Dude, that's what it's about? Yeah. It's a great show. Sean, I'm shocked you don't see that. I've watched it. I mean, it's not that I've never seen it before. Why do you hate Monk? I just never found it funny. Wow. Well, yeah, so USA Network has signed it for its eighth and final season, and there'll be 13 new episodes. I think a lot of people will not know that it was never there. Obama says that he has to give up his BlackBerry when he takes office. Why? Well, I guess when, you know, you take office, you can't be doing, like, electronic communication because of security reasons.
What do they do? I don't know. They said that when George Bush took office, he had to send out, like, a mass email to all his friends explaining to them, hey, I won't be able to communicate with you over email anymore. BRB. L-O-L. Right? What do they do? So Obama's team is trying to figure out how maybe Barack can, like, still receive emails but just not send out emails. I don't know yet. I find that thought paralyzing. Yeah. Well, and Obama's, like, big into the Crackberry. Like, if you see him, you know, in, like, candid shots, he's always, like, got his little
Crackberry going. I can't imagine what it would be like. Oh, I'd love it. You would? Absolutely. Talk about it. Dude. I would love it. To not have your emails and stuff? Yeah, I could care less. I honestly, I think back, I'm like, I can't imagine what we used to do, me personally, without the cell phone, the email. Email. I mean, forget it. I don't, how did we communicate before then? Used to have to fire people in person, you know, that kind of stuff, you know? It's really terrible.

I went there for the first time on Saturday night. And that place is super cool, man. Were you at the edge? I didn't go to the edge. I got to the information booth, and the nice lady told me, probably since it was my first time there, go check out the live. Yeah, they don't want to freak people out. I got to go to the live with Pastor Chris Brown and talked to him after and told him I was a P1.
He was totally stoked. Awesome. He told me to go to the edge from now on, but thanks for referring me out there, man. I made like 20 new friends in three hours. That's awesome, dude. Oh, no. Thanks for the compliment. It's my job. Smoke a bag. You know, on the radio in England, they're much more liberal. Like, they can get away with a lot more in England. Yeah, we can get a lot more with, like, swearing and cussing on the radio than you guys do. Yeah. I saw the, like, British Howard Stern guy on TV one time, And he was interviewing Jamie Oliver, the chef. And Jamie Oliver comes in and he does this thing where he like cooks, right? And he cooks this like sandwich thing or something.
And the guy takes it and he takes a bite out of it and he throws it in the garbage and he goes, it tastes like S. I'm like, whoa. That's awesome. Yeah, and it's on the air. Like they're on the air. I was like, whoa. It was crazy. Yeah, you can ask a lot of my friends. I swear I like a sailor and I shouldn't because I'm a girl, but still. Right, right, right. Well, there you go. Terry Bradshaw did not dig that one, dude. That was not funny.
Totally offended Terry Bradshaw. Hey, what are you going to do to celebrate? Well, I'll tell the P1s I'll be making an appearance at the tavern in Pacific Beach tonight. There it is. Snappers. Nice. Well, we're air fist bumping you right now. Toast. It's the new sign. Oh, yeah, it's the toast. It's the toast. We're toasting. That is the, if you see somebody with a P1 sticker on their car and you pass by them, you want to let them know that you're a P1 too, it's like you're holding up an air toast. Hold the glass. Hold the glass by the stem.
Well, obviously. Hold the glass by the stem. You don't want your stuff to get warm. Yeah, of course. Can we say that clip? Just hold the glass up by the stem like you're toasting it.
