It's the Soothing Sounds 606. Sorry, sorry, sorry. We're doing this for the first time. Lack of security for the Walmart trampling death on Black Friday. Don't worry, Charger fans. It's almost over. The most disappointing season in NFL history is all but over as the Chargers lose to Atlanta 22-16. Hey, North Turner. What's up? We just can't put it together in terms of all three phases consistently for an extended period of time. And today we struggled offensively. We have false starts. We're at home holding penalties on first down. Obviously had more pressure on Phil than we've had in any game. It all ties together. It sure does, doesn't it, Norv? It sure does. It does all tie together. Yeah, it does. Yeah.
There's one central figure in that. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, for sure. A problem there, I think. I don't know. Good thing we got him tied up for another year, right? Oh, right. Good thing we made sure that central guy was going to be with us. Well, Mike, I think that, you know, his history in the past shows that he is capable of... Eddie, I thought he didn't win anywhere else. Oh, no. Oh. Well, that's not good. Don't think that it's Norv Turner's fault. All he needs is good players. If Norv Turner had the players, he'd have a winning team. Oh, really? Yes. 11 Pro Bowlers. 11? That's a lot. What are you talking about? Oh, the Chargers. That's a lot. He has 11 Pro Bowlers? Well, yeah. Not anymore.
That's not this year. There's not 11 Pro Bowlers this year? Not going to be this year. Huh. That sounds like fun. Opposite. Yeah, it's not really that fun. Opposite. No? Being a San Diego Charger fan and watching that happen. A lot of people are upset today. Oh, wow. A lot of people are upset, and that's why we are glad that it is December 1st, and we are back from vacation. And before we went on vacation, it was not yet Thanksgiving. It is now after Thanksgiving, which means... Ladies and gentlemen, The Return, the most gorgeous song ever. Sing it. Oh, yes. This is, this, by the way, this is real. It's been too long.
Was that the first point that if you were to break it down and study it, was that where... Is it me or do I smell chestnuts in here? It smells like the holidays now, doesn't it? The fulfillment of the prophecies. Yes. I see. It's gorgeous. Just accept it. Yeah, don't look into it. So pretty. Afraid. Don't be afraid. Thank you. See what happens when you're not afraid? My appendix burst. Make it till you make it. Good decision. Good choice. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. Oh, is that it? Yeah. Little angel, little baby. That's a little baby just saying. Spatting his little eyelashes all over you going, hey, goodbye. Back, back, back, back.
It's so pretty. Like a little angel's wings fluttering right there in my ears. Petter, patter, petter, patter. It's so pretty. 570-1053. It's back. We only play it. We play it after Thanksgiving and we play it all through the holiday season. So you got a month of that to go. That's right. Good morning. I hope that was a fun song to hear and wake up to. Something to look forward to, that's for sure. That's right. A lot more of that. That's right. 570-1053. Call us. Say hi. What's up? How was your Thanksgiving? We're back. We were off all last week. And I want to hear what you guys are up to, what you guys are doing. And I want to hear from callers. 570-1053-35253. Don't forget our answering machine, too. 858-715-1923. P1, Leonidas is the first on the air after our break. What's up, dude? I'm honored this morning. How are you guys doing? Good, man. How are you doing? Just recovering from a long turkey weekend. That's right. Good to have you guys back. It's good to hear you live on the radio. You guys are so infectious. I love it. Thank you. Leonidas, how many turkey sandwiches have you had? I would say about nine. Oh, okay. A little excessive. That's a lot.
That is a lot. Yeah, spread a little cranberry sauce on there. Mm-hmm. Good to go. It's real good. Put some football on. It's real fresh. Yep. I like it. It's real sweet. It's real good. Thank you, Leonidas. I have a funny story to share real quick. Okay. Well, I have some relatives over from back east Thanksgiving day, and I was showing my cousin, Rock 105.3 Mikey Show website. Uh-huh. And I was playing some podcasts, and he heard the Panda song. Yeah. Make a long story short. He kept singing it. My 93-year-old grandma started singing it. By the end of the night, before she's leaving, she's going, Panda, panda. Yes. Best thing ever. Best thing ever. Dude, it's so, it's infectious. That's awesome. I mean, that, I mean, you talk about infectious, dude. That song is infectious. Hey, Sean. Oh, yeah. Hey, Sean. I kind of disagree. Well, you don't need to play it right now. It is good. I don't think it's necessary. I played one song this morning. I should stop playing it. It's good for anyone. For hey, Sean. Get in there. Tear it up. It's the panda song. It is catchy. It's a catchy one. Seven people on the Mikey show. I'm the host. My name is Mike. And I go by Mikey on the air. But you can call me whatever. Yeah, you can call me that. Some people call me... Sky calls me McGuette. When we first met, she called me McGinty. She called me Captain. She's called me McGuette.
I recognize all. I recognize all of them. So you can call me whatever you'd like. And I am 38 years old today wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt, which I like them. But I also like to show off my tattoos, you know, so people think I'm tough. No, hardcore. And hardcore and stuff. Yeah, dude, dude. You know, even though I'm a very sensitive guy, I like people to see those tattoos and be like, oh, better leave him alone. He's hard. He's hard, for sure. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy, and he is 35 years old, and he and I got to enjoy some pictures of us from 1992 or 91? Yeah. 91, 92, something like that. Yeah, somewhere in there. That was the 90s? Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I thought that was like mid-80s. Yeah. Well, I was... I just said it. Judging from the hairstyle, I mean, she's got a point. Yes. You saw him, Sean? Yeah. Oh, wow. We all got to enjoy. That was beautiful. Yes. They're interesting. I was morbidly obese, and Eddie... I was morbidly awesome. Oh, man. It was a style back then. We looked good. I ain't gonna lie. Eddie and I were... Well, first of all, Eddie's like seven years old. How old are you in those pictures? 19? 19. And I'm 21.
All 400 pounds of me. You weren't 400. I mean, I'm not kidding. I was like 360 pounds or something. You just needed to cut that mullet. Did you see that? I'm just now looking at them. What mullet? If you're willing, I'll do it. I don't care. I enjoy them. Yeah, we'll put them on the website. You know what we'll do? We'll make people wait for it. It's crazy. Somebody of ours who we used to work with back in the day found these pictures from Thanksgiving. A Thanksgiving dinner that we had in Rochester, New York from like 91, 92 and sent us the pictures and put them on Facebook. Thank you very much. So that everybody could enjoy them. I saw them. And I belly laughed. I belly laughed. Did you throw up first? Mike, is that you in the wig? Yeah. And Eddie in the leather jacket, I'm assuming. A really sweet suede. It's a money suede. People are supposed to look better when they're younger. You're supposed to. You know? You're supposed to look better when you're younger.
what era you grew up in. East Coast style, baby. Those are awesome. Yeah. So we'll have to post those. Oh, gosh. Yes. That's going to hurt a little. I'll just say, hey, listen, I'll tell you, I don't look the same I do in those pictures anymore. You don't have to say it, bro. I don't? Everybody loves you the way you are. Sky, do I still look like that? I thought maybe I do and I'm just being myopic. I think I look different. No, you don't look like that. But everybody's going, no, actually, dude. Wow. That's an awesome mullet you have though, Mike. You've got to be proud of it. I mean, whatever with everything else, but the mullet you got rocking, Mike, that's money. Can I just tell you? Yeah, dude. If it's being photographed, it means it's done. Yeah. It means I...
I took care of it that morning. I blue dry it. I put the hairspray. I put my product. And whatever you're seeing photographed means that there was care taken to get it that way. It is prestige. That is awesome. We're all having fun, man. We are all having fun. That's right. 5701053. P1 Gabby. Morning, guys. I just wanted to tell Skye thank you for the recommendation for Honey Baked. Nice. You did? Delicious, huh? Delicious. We will never get another ham. Skye, the big question is, what about Skye? She was going for Thanksgiving dinner, and there was no ham, or was there ham? Well, no. I offered. I said, oh, can I bring something, you know? And, oh, no. no my sister-in-law said no no we got it covered we got everything covered and so i didn't know what that meant so basically i was going into this situation blind i didn't know what was going to be a nightmare oh no well i wouldn't say it was a nightmare your nightmare i'm just saying i so i didn't know what was going to be there yeah and um you know we're all mingling eating our little hors d'oeuvres hanging out talking
My sister-in-law starts to put the food out, and my dad picks up a piece of ham, brings it right in front of my face, and starts shaking it to let me know. Your father? Yeah, my family is now on your face. And then you get his fingers off. Did he feed you like a dolphin? No. You know how the trainer throws the anchovy at the dolphin? No, no. So there was... Does he do it like a horse when you put the carrot? You have to flatten your hand out. Yeah, well, you got to be careful. You flatten your hand out. Bite your thumb. Yes, Mike, that's exactly how he did it. Oh, were you there? Oh, were you there, Mike? Did you see? Oh, how did you know? Sweet, luscious ham. Did he do it like they feed the tigers and lock you in a cage and just throw the whole thing in there? And retrieve the bone later. Oh my goodness. So there was no ham emergency. There was no ham emergency. There was turkey and honey baked ham. I pay for my ham like everybody else. Shut up. They didn't have to be thrown in the ambulance and taken to get a ham V. Okay. Direct injected ham V. It was a lovely Thanksgiving. P1 Amsterdam's on the line. Yes, good morning you guys. I want to let you know you're the greatest show.
all around. Thank you, bro. Thank you, man. And I wanted to give a shout out for Ashley in your promotions department. I wasn't able to go to the boo ball. I didn't receive it in time, but she sent me an email that's going to enable me to go to the best night of the year this year coming up. You got a long way, brother. I know I got a long way, but it's still the best. I don't go out enough, but your boo ball is the best. Right on, brother. You guys have a great day and welcome back. Thank you very much. We're thinking about changing boo ball to an actual my boo. Yeah. And having a boo ball. For the boo. The bunny boo ball. Yes, the bunny boo ball. Let's see. Some of the text messages that we're getting at 35253. Mikey, question. Can we not, please, not talk about the local NFL team today? The local NFL team. Okay. Don't want to say their name. They don't want to say the name of the local NFL team. How about any local sports franchise? Dude. Period. It's a sad state of sportsness here in San Diego. We deserve better than this. That's true. We do. That's true. We deserve a winning team. No. No. Tell me what thoughts in your head, Eddie. I want to know what's in there.
It could be worse. We could live in Seattle. The Mariners had a worse record than the Padres. The Seahawks have a worse record than the Chargers. And they lost their NBA franchise. All in one year. So there you go, San Diego. It could be worse. It rains all the time. And it's a rain. We got beaches. Grunge Rock is over, so they've got nothing. But they do have that Space Needle thing. We've got the SeaWorld. That's pretty bad when that's the slogan of sports teams is like, hey, at least we're not Seattle. That's our t-shirt. At least we're not Seattle. I'll tell you this, though. Those are uniforms. You look so cool, right? Power Blues are going to be busted out on Thursday. Yes. That's all we need. Oh, they're still going to play? That's not nice. It's not over. It's not over. If the Chargers win out and the Broncos lose every game. Listen. What's up? What? You're just going to hurt us. Hold on. Hold on. Chargers win out and the Broncos lose out. We win the division. And then the Super Bowl. But don't the Chargers have some big teams coming up that they're playing? Okay. All right.
Keep me quiet. My bad. Oh, man. I'm pumping the fans up right now. Oh, my bad. Yeah. Not a game. Not a game. We talking about practice. No, we're not actually. It was a game. It was a game. And, oh, by the way, the game's not sold out for Thursday, so it could be blacked out. Crying out loud. Crying out loud. FYI, everybody. Got a thousand more tickets you got to sell on Wednesday. Can't do it. I can't even watch him lose. Merry Christmas. That Josh Williams did, though. That's true. Yeah, that's the bright side. What else is the bright side? Think of bright side. We have LT. Bad timing. Bad timing. It was really cool to see Michael Turner.
Yeah. He looks good. He's doing good. Good to see him. He's on the other team. It's good to see your old friend. He's always nice. Nice guy. You know what? Prettiest cheerleaders in the NFL, I think. Honestly. I do. I do think that. I think that's really good. Come on. There's got to be a bright side to the Chargers. Yeah. That grass was looking green. Super green. It was super green. The rain really helps the grass look green. San Diego's weather keeps it beautiful, the green grass. Yeah, that was cool. What else? I'm done. I'm done, too. I can't think of anything else. I'm trying to think of something else that is really great about the San Diego Chargers right now, but I can't. Trying to blink. Oh, gosh. Floral blank. Yeah. Blackness. All right. Okay. It looks like a void. Yeah. Well. Bottomless pit. There's nothing there. I don't know. It's like a black hole. Oh, oh. What do you got? Oh, oh, oh, oh. There's always next year. Ah. That's kind of stung. Really? We've been saying that a long time, though. I've been saying that a long time. I've heard that before. It feels good. It does. If I were the general manager of the Chargers, I would fire North Turner. I said it. Someone had to, Mike. Someone had to. Eddie, you know what? What about this? What? If people say, if people go, hey, Mike. Listen, you know, a coach can't get out there and play.
For the players. That's true. See, that's why I say, look, all you got to do, look at kids and their dads. Some kids respond to their dad differently. And isn't it about, how does your dad run the house? If your dad doesn't care and he's just like, you know, and he says, hey, listen, that's not my personality. My personality is not to, because if you hear Jerry Rice say they don't respect him. What if a kid said about their dad, I don't respect him. Aye, aye, aye. Can you imagine what the house would be like? Be all dirty, probably. Nobody would care. Nobody would care. It's just trippy because you watch the team and you go, they don't look like they really give a whoop. A rip. They're just out there. Just doing their thing. Going through the motions. Bringing one of those British nannies. Yes.
We need a British nanny, man. Good work. Call 911. Get a nanny. Yeah. I've heard that works. You just put them in. If they make that play, you put them in the room. Don't speak to them. Don't acknowledge it. Put them in the room. If Quentin Jarmer gets another yellow. towel thrown down on his behalf. The yellow towel thrown down on his behalf. Don't acknowledge it. That's what he wants. That's why he's doing it. He's doing it because he wants you to send him and hit him on his bottom and say, no, no, but that's the attention that he craves. So don't give that to him. Put him in a timeout. That's what we need to do. Put him in timeout. Can we order a new pop? No. That's where we are. I want winners. Me too. Okay. So much stuff in the news, man. Mumbai happened when we were gone. Dang. These shootings happened when we were gone. One at Walmart. No, the Walmart was a trampoline. And there was a shooting at a Toys R Us over the break. Craziness. Dude. It was like everybody was flipping out. You know, we were talking, my wife and I were talking about the...
when they were trampling people at the Walmart. And I was like, man, this is people trampling people just to buy stuff. I'm like, imagine if there was actually a need or what do they call it? Demand. Like there was a shortage. Like a shortage of bottled water or something. Yeah. Like, I mean, this is the way people behave when they get to buy something. Yeah, when there's a vacuum on sale for 30 bucks. Yes. It's a good deal. They were tripping out. It is a good deal. There's a lot of good deals. Yeah. $800 plasma. What? Where's that at? Awesome! Well, you have to trample someone. That puts it in different perspectives. I'm up for it. Any latest? Like, what's the latest? Well, you know, this happened in New York, if you didn't hear, in a town called Valley Stream. And the police there say that they're, now after they've done their investigation, that they're saying that Walmart had inadequate security for the crowds there. Do they have security footage? Do they know who people were that did it? I'm sure they do. From what I've read, is they're not specifically going to charge anyone because it was like a crowd. It was like a mob. It wasn't like one specific person or two specific. It was like a whole mob of people. And, you know, it was 5 a.m. for the Black Friday deals. It was a temporary employee that was just, you know, hired for the holiday rush. And it was his job to open the door.
and he got trampled, people waiting out their hours for their cheap vacuums and plasmas. And four people were sent to the hospital, including a woman who was eight months pregnant. No! Yeah, it was pretty, pretty disgusting. And then they closed the store down because a dude got trampled to death and people are complaining and screaming and won't leave the store. It's disgusting. Oh, that's so weird, man. What state did that happen in? In New York. Oh, yeah. Oh, Rob. Really? Really? He's from Massachusetts. Hey, let the story speak for itself. Don't you go judging. Boston, New York, right? Is that what it's about? 570-1053 is our phone number. And, oh, the other big thing. Last night, Britney Spears did this MTV thing. Watched it. Yeah, I think every woman on planet Earth. Sky, did you see it? I'm telling you, man. My wife and all her girlfriends were talking about it. I went out in the hallway right now, and I heard chicks in the hallway talking about it here at the radio station. It's crazy. My fiance watched it. She did. I didn't know what you guys were talking about. Yeah. I didn't know about it until my wife brought it up last night. But it was like the first on-the-record interview that Britney Spears did since all her wackiness. Well, it was actually a documentary. No commercials.
No commercials. It was from the day before the VMAs, the 2008 VMAs, I believe. And then the 60 days thereafter, it was like a documentary of her. And she's like getting interviewed throughout it. But then it's like her showing like her life. So this year's VMAs. And when were they? Do we know? Well, remember when she was out there in that black little outfit and people were talking about, oh, she probably shouldn't have worn that. Didn't look so good out there. It was from there on. So it didn't. cover specifically her rehab, her umbrella, head shaving. It wasn't that period of time, but she talked about a lot of stuff. I thought it was from where she just won the awards. If it was from the 08. Oh, it was from the 08? Because it was showing her going on, and she won like... Oh, so it was only just recently, just a couple months. It's recently, because I'm looking at clips, and it says she's talking about the head shaving. Yeah, she talks about that. Yeah, she talks about the things, but as far as like Ashley was saying, like the time it covers, you know what I mean? Like when they followed her with the camera. Oh, the actual documentary portion of her day-to-day life. Yeah, it's not like a multiple-year documentary. Well, I was listening to some of the clips, and we'll play some of these clips. And, you know, everybody, you got your own take on it. My take on it was that it's sad.
You know, she's messed up. And she's a real sick person, it sounds like. Really? Like still to this day, it sounds like that? Yeah, like... Wow. And that's the thing. That's why I was really curious. When was this done? It was done from the eve of the 2008 Music Awards. The one where she sweeped it. She got Video of the Year. She got... Pop Artist of the Year, she got like a bunch of awards. And it was the eve of that and then 60 days after. Here's the deal. I shouldn't say, I should say that with the stuff that she's talking about, her past, she sounds very sick. In terms of what is she actually like when she's doing these interviews, I don't, I think that it's too, it's too vague to say, oh yeah, she's fixed. Yeah, she's totally healthy. You can't quantify it. There's too many variables involved in somebody being healthy. So I think she sounds better. She sounds certainly better than she was when she was shaving her head and doing the umbrella. She sounds better, but I think she's working on it. She's working on it. But man, craziness in that.
So she looked great. She did. She looked amazing. She sounded great. And like as a fan of hers, like I was pumped because like she seems like she's just doing a million times better. But she looked gorgeous, like the old Britney that we love. Yeah. Yeah. Calm down. OK, so that we don't get crazy behind. We got to take a quick time out. And then let me tell you about some of the stuff that we got on the show today. First of all, we're going to Vegas. And if you want to go with us to Vegas, I got details on how you can come with us to Vegas to see the UFC Ultimate Fighter finale. Sean Merriman will be on the show. I thought about maybe not talking about the Chargers. Yeah, that's cool. And just talking about other stuff, you know. Thanksgiving. Yeah, because I don't want to bum him out. And I don't, what's there to talk about? You know, I mean, obviously, well, I just don't know what to say about the Chargers to Sean Merriman. I think I'll say that and then see what he says. And then I'll go, now you go. I like that stance. Just say, hey, I feel weird talking about the Chargers, Sean. Now you go. What else we got? We got the Dumb Chick Challenge today. The DCC. And we will be playing for third day tickets, third day in concert this Saturday. And I'm going to MC it. I'm a terrible MC.
That's a true statement. That's not true. No, no, no, no. That is true. I'm not being, I'm not being, what's the word? What's the word when you're fishing for a compliment or something? Rambunctious. I'm not rambunctious. I'm not a good MC. People ask me to do it. And the problem with it is, is that I, I think that MCs should be funny and entertaining. And I can only do that in a studio with my friends. I don't know how to do that on a stage, but people ask me to. And I say, yeah, because I feel bad saying no. But I get up there and I go, hi. Let's see. What else are we going to do today? Oh, we got this email that's a trip of this girl that found naked pictures on her boyfriend's phone. What about that? What do you think? Talk about it. We're going to do P1 trivia today so somebody could come into the studio. Eddie's going to run down NFL scores here in a second. We've got audio from that Britney on the record. We've got audio of Barbara Walters interviewing Obama. We've got all kinds of stuff. Brian Regan in the stand-up spotlight. The Lucky Show is 105.3. Hey, kids. Yeah. We had to call our stuff in the house every day. You know, you have to call your possessions, claim your territory.
Like if you got it from your chair to make a sandwich, you had to claim it. You know, I call that chair. That's what we would do. I call that chair. It's my chair. I call that chair. Hey, when I get back, that's mine because I call it. I call that chair. I didn't realize this only worked at home. I thought this was a universal system, you know. My first day in school was very strange. I call this desk. I call this desk. My teacher's like, yes, we all do, Brian. I'm like, just grabbing onto it. I don't know why we did it at home anyway because my older brothers always took whatever they wanted. Like when we're all getting in the car, I knew where I was going to end up sitting. So I would pretend like I wanted that. Backseat in the middle, my feet on the hump. And I called it, get off the hump. The hump is mine. I think my parents were kind of worried about me. He's calling the hump, Walt. He shouldn't want the hump. As long as he ain't fighting. Hump's good. Right around. Oh, the hump's good. Yeah. You like the hump. I love the hump. I'm the hump boy. The fog could be to blame for several accidents already working. It is awfully thick out there, so be careful. And give yourself some extra time. You're more than likely going to need it as this fog will slow you down. On the King Freeway, westbound, a couple of accidents. One near the 805, the other one near Euclid Avenue has got you back from College Avenue all the way to the 805 Freeway. And then stuff on that, getting on the South 15 from there as well with an accident, South 15, clearing just before the 5. This one also involving a motorcycle in that backup, so that's causing a major backup behind that. We've got also South 163, very tough here, coming to the park at Mission Valley from an accident just before the 5 freeway heading into downtown. Northbound 5 is also seeing a bag up here approaching the 15 up towards an accident near 28th Street. You've got South 15, slow and go out of Escondido, the usual commute stuff here from the 78 down to Villarancho Parkway. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Pop quiz. Axl Rose, is threatening legal action against Dr. Pepper after their website crashed, not allowing everyone to get their free soda coupon. All right, we got new news about the whole Plaxico Burris situation. He apparently turned himself in to the police this morning and is going to be charged with criminal possession of a weapon after shooting himself in the leg Friday night at a Manhattan nightclub. For those of you that have not heard this story, by the way, Eddie, what happened?
He had a concealed weapon at a nightclub. I guess it was in his pocket. Now, this is according to him. One of his teammates was there with him, pointed out the fact that the gun was showing or falling out or something like that, and he went to fix it and shot himself in the leg. Oh, good. It begs the obvious question, which is why do you have a gun? Absolutely. At a nightclub? Absolutely. And the gun is registered to him in Florida, but it's against the law in New York to have a concealed weapon like outside your house or whatever with it not being registered in the state of New York. Got it. Don't guns have safeties? Well, you would think so, yeah. Okay. His attorney talks about the situation. We are in contact with the New York City Police Department and the New York County District Attorney's Office. and making arrangements for Mr. Burris to address these legal issues as early as tomorrow. And he will responsibly address these issues in short order. I mean, talk about a weird story, right? Yeah. But, I mean, really? Anybody surprised? It's the same guys all the time. Chris Henry. You see Pac-Man Jones, Plaxico Burris. It's those same guys every time. Speaking of the NFL.
Speaking of football players, we have our very own. He has not shot himself in the leg. Number 56 is on the phone with us right now. His name is Sean Merriman. Hey, Sean. Hey, what's going on, man? How you doing, dude? I haven't shot myself in the leg. That's good. That's good. That's always a good deal. It's a bonus. Sean, I was saying before you came on, I go, listen. Do I really want to talk about the Chargers with Sean? See, I don't want this interview thing that we do every Monday with you. I don't want it to be a deal where you're like, oh, no, man, I got to call these guys. And who knows? It may already be that way. When we look at our record this year as the Chargers record, it may already be a deal where you're like, oh, I got to call these guys, call into the show. I want it to be fun. Let's talk about Thanksgiving and cars and food and stuff.
And yeah, you know what I mean? But what is there to say about the Chargers? What do I say to Sean Merriman about the San Diego Chargers? The team's terrible. It is. It's bad. I don't know. I think the biggest, you know, the best way to describe it is disappointment. I think LT said it and a bunch of guys are just feeling really embarrassed and disappointed right now how the season went. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you use a past tense when you say how the season went. And maybe you didn't mean to say that, but it's true. I mean, for all intents and purposes, it's over. Unless the Chargers win out and the Denver Broncos lose, Eddie was saying. The NFL is weird. The NFL is very weird, especially in our division. And as crazy as it sounds and how it is, we really still have a chance. We have to win out. We need Denver to go and lose one or two. So it's still very possible. You know, Sean, I honestly, during the week when you and I are not talking, I'm thinking about this. I actually think during the week, what am I going to say to Sean Merriman? Because I want it to be fun, a fun thing when we get on the radio. And I think to myself, there's some stuff he just can't. I could say a million things that you can't respond to. And then, you know, so what's.
there's not really a point in that. Like I, my whole thing is a, it's a Norv Turner deal. And I wish that they would have a guy that would go in there and just be good with X's and O's. And at the same time, uh, like a dad, like a good dad, you know, get you guys, uh, all squared away. Uh, and then, uh, and that's all I think about it really. I don't really have any more of a take on it than that. And you can't say, even if you thought that Sean, you can't say, Oh yeah, Mikey, I totally agree with that. Well, it depends because, I mean, you still have to, you know, be honest with yourself and be honest with the fans. You know, LT came on and said, you know, it was embarrassing and a bunch of guys after the game said were very disappointed in the way they're playing and guys need to be accountable. So no matter what, you can't run from the truth. You still have to be upfront about how this season is looking and things that's not being done right now. Eddie, Sean, what are you the most surprised about? about the way the team's playing? Like, what's the most surprising aspect about it? You know, us really just not being able to finish games. I mean, you're going to have one or two games like that a year where it comes down and you just, you know, you drop it at a game and you don't finish the way you don't. But it's five or six games. I mean, that's, you know, pretty much the majority of our season thus far. I mean, one thing's for sure.
It's going to be interesting to see how the team changes with Sean Merriman back in the lineup. And you can't do everything, but you certainly changed the complexion of how a game is played. No question about it. Okay, let's talk about other stuff. How was Thanksgiving? It was pretty good. I got a chance to go home for the first time in three years for Thanksgiving, so it was good. Do you? spread your eating out through the day on Thanksgiving, or do you go, I'm not going to eat until we sit down for the meal? Oh, yeah, I'm definitely a holdout. I'll try to wait until that one big meal, and I'll pass out afterwards. How do you eat your turkey sandwich? I normally eat the turkey sandwiches probably a day or two after for the leftovers. I make sandwiches out of it. I know, but what's your style? How do you prepare it? We were talking about this on the air. Everybody has their own way of making a turkey sandwich. What is the Merriman turkey sandwich? As in what I put on it or how do I eat it? Yeah, exactly. Is there stuffing and mashed potatoes on there or are you just going regularly? First of all, white meat, dark meat. I think we established this last year. The white meat. White meat. Talk to me about a leftover.
turkey sandwich, and what do you do? What do you put in there? I'm not that fancy, man. I just put mayo and lettuce. Oh, lettuce. A traditionalist. Mayo, lettuce, and turkey, and that's it? That's it. Wow. What kind of bread? White bread. Are we talking Wonder? Oh, yeah, of course. Yeah. Maybe even potato bread sometimes, too. I like potato bread. Potato bread's good. Yeah, yeah. You go very old school. You run it very old school. Were you back east or were you out here? Yeah, I was back east. Got a chance to see my family and go back and see some old friends that I grew up with as well. Sky. Sean, I know that lots of times you get involved with these coat drives, and we were cleaning out our closets, and I haven't heard anything this year. Is there a coat drive going on locally that you're involved with this year?
No, not locally. I do have one December 3rd back at the University of Maryland. I will meet you there, Sean. We don't really need coats out here because it's so hot all the time. Yeah, but the homeless at night, you know. It's a balmy 75. Hey, Sean, what does somebody get you for Christmas? Oh, gosh. That's a good question. Things I can use on a daily basis, like whatever it is. What do you call those things? A fruit maker when you put all the fruit in. It's like a blender, but it's... Ah, the magic bullet. The magic bullet. Or the pocket rocket. Wait. I think that's something else. A blender? Last year it was pretty good. Are you talking about the made-for-TV, you know, the infomercial deal? Yeah, yeah, something like that. Yeah, and so you make your shakes in it. Yeah, I make the shakes and just put the fruit in there and it does everything for you. Yeah, I would think if you're buying for Sean, you go out. He uses it every day. Yeah, and how do you feel about gift cards? Are you in or out on gift cards?
Not really, because I think after a while, they just pile up, and then you don't put them in a drawer somewhere, and you forget about them. Oh, yeah. I'll take them. Sky is definitely a gift card gal. Yeah, I enjoy them. So put down Sky, Sean, and then next to it, write gift card. Sean, when you give gifts, do you wrap them yourself? Oh. Uh, no, no, I don't, I don't rap. You have an assistant that does it? Yeah, I have, I have a few people to do it. That'd be awesome. That would be so great to have a gift wrapper that that's their deal. You get it. They wrap it. You get, wait a minute. I have that. It's called my wife. I actually have one of those. Hey, how's, uh, how's Manny doing? Your friend Manny, he's fighting this weekend. He's doing pretty good. He, uh, he leaves the Vegas today for the fight. Are you going? Yeah, I'd be at the fight. Oh, one up. Nice. Do you get good ringside seats? Please. Yeah, I'll probably maybe even walk out with him. Oh, that would be dope. For real, dude? Are you going to walk out with him? I'm thinking about it. That's awesome. I have opportunities. I don't know yet. Dude. Prediction. Oh, Manny. Manny all the way. What round? I think they're going to slug it off about nine.
About nine rounds. I mean, it's going to be a brutal fight, though. And both of their styles are just slugfest. So it's going to be pretty good. I hear. Are you still back east or are you back here? Are you with Plaxico Burrows? Yes. Oh, yeah. We didn't talk about Plax. Dude, what do you think? Yeah, I think, you know, sometimes you've got to be responsible. And that's just gone a little bit too far. You know, we make pretty good money. And when I go out. A lot of times I bring security and I have security, so I don't have to carry a gun. I don't have to put myself in a situation, not even to have one. So I think it's a point in time you've got to be a little bit more responsible and have security. I mean, there's no need. If you're going to a place where you need to carry a gun, then obviously you need security. Oh, man. I mean, you're pretty lucky, Sean. You don't have... really any teammates that are like that. But if you did, if you had a Pac-Man Jones or a Plaxico Burris, Chris Henry on your team, what would you say to them? Well, you talk to them as much as possible, but you can't let it slide that they're still a man and they're grown and they have to take responsibility for their actions. But as a friend and as a teammate, you're going to put them to the side and try to talk it out with them and help them whatever they need. This is such a weird story.
Because you think, man, how do you not know better than to be taking a gun into a nightclub? And how is it on? How is the safety sky? Listen, Sky doesn't know anything about guns. She goes, why isn't the safety on? You know, for real. Who knows? So anyway. All right. Sean, we're going to get you some. We're going to get you some health-related stuff for Christmas. Yeah. No gift cards. No gift cards. We'll just go to waste. Send it your way. Mm-hmm. And what else is new? What else are you doing? Yeah, I have my bowling event, Good Day in L.A. Do you really? It's a lucky strike in Hollywood. You really love bowling. You like bowling. Yeah. You dig it. Yeah, it's my third annual Lights on Bowling. Wait a second, Sean. I've emceed that sucker for the past two years. I didn't get asses to you. Eddie, you emceed that sucker? Yeah, the last two years I emceed it. It's because they moved to L.A. I actually had to because it was hard to get all the talent when they're shooting sitcoms. But Eddie was there. Eddie said he was there the last two years. Eddie was an extra on the show Renegade 17 years ago.
Forget it. Hey, Sean, who's going to be there? We have a long list. We have Turtle from the entourage coming. We have Magic Johnson, Macy Gray, a bunch of actors from the soap operas, Young and Restless. It's a lot of talent. There you go. There you go. All right, Sean, that should have been relatively painless. You know what? It's not that bad. Even when I come on and talk about it, I can talk football all day. And at some point in time, you have to talk the truth because that's what people want to hear. And I enjoy talking about other things, but at the same time, it's been disappointing to not only the players, but even the fans. And the people have to watch it. I'm sure the organization is disappointed. because that's not the way we play football. Are they going to beat the Raiders on Thursday? Oh, that's for sure. You can mock that. We better beat the Raiders. If they don't, Sean, that's it. It's here, right? Yeah. They better beat the Raiders. I'll move if they don't.
They're going to sit all their starters, I think, for the Raiders game. Are they going to sit their starters? Might be better. Is your knee better yet? Can you play this weekend? Sean, is it all better? You doing good? Yeah, I wish we could uplift that R thing, but I already tried twice. Wow. How does the knee feel? It feels pretty good, man. I'll be running in the next three weeks, so I'll be back to moving around and back to my own self. Right on. All right, Sean, we appreciate it. Be careful bowling. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What's your average bowling? Depends. I went last week, and I just stunk it up real bad. It was normally around 170, 180. There you go. Try Wii bowling. It's much easier. The Wii bowling is good. Yeah, until a three-year-old beats you, then you're all right. That's true. All right, Sean, we appreciate it, dude. We'll talk to you next week. All right, thanks a lot. That's Sean Merriman. It's now got you backed up from Lemon Grove Avenue. And that slowdown continues all the way pretty much into downtown right now for a very tough commute there. 805 northbound. Plenty of breaklights here out of Chula Vista up to National City. That extends from Market Street again.
into North Park. And now you've got to crawl out of Kearney Mesa, heading up over the 52. Northbound 5, same situation. Heavy out of Chula Vista up to National City in this freeway as well. More brake lights from the 15 in the downtown from an earlier accident there. South 163, bumper to bumper through the park from an accident turning to the 5 freeway. South 15, you've also got the slowdown now coming out of Escondido off the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. And now you're seeing a heavy back up here past Lake Hodges into Rancho Bernardo. And the coaster ride, South 5, is picking up some brake lights from Birmingham Drive. into Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 1053. Cock-a-doodle-doo. Guess what time it is? I'm a little old man. Nice to meet you. Eddie. I always am in the mood for waffles. Sky. I am a hypochondriac when it comes to my cats. Sean. I'm really into 70s B actors. Little Miss Boston Rob. I'm not a chick. Well... Yes, you are. And Ashley. It's really hard for me to watch difficult movies. The Mikey Show's on. It's a Mikey Show. It is 7-16. Barack Obama will announce his national security team, including Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State this morning. Denver tries to stick a fork in the Chargers as they beat the Jets 34-17 yesterday. Josh Lewin is in the studio. He is the play-by-play guy of the San Diego Chargers, which...
Boy, I mean, that's, yeah, that's got to be a painful thing right now. He's one of the bright sides. Yeah. Josh is real good. Listening to Josh and Hank, good stuff. I love you guys, but these are getting to be painful broadcasts to do. And it's all expectations, right? I mean, because we were just talking about that before we came back. I mean, you know, it's one thing if you're Kansas City or Oakland and you're going into the season and you've got no expectations at all. You're a Chiefs fan, a Raiders fan. Okay, you're four and eight, life goes on. This was supposed to be the thing that made a morning like today palpable and cool. You know, that, all right, it's foggy, the economy's in the toilet, whatever. But you know what? What a game yesterday. You know, I love the Chargers. I love being in San Diego and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And they're not doing that for us. And so people are pissed. You know what I thought, too, is that I grew up in the Bay Area, and it was during the height of the 49ers' heyday. And one of the cool things about winning was that you got to see your team play in primetime the next season. When you win and when you're a good team, what happens is the NFL goes, well, we want to put our biggest stars out there. People love you. That's right. Yeah, people love you. And so there was just another one of those things that hit me yesterday of, like, forget the primetime stuff. I know. And they have stars. But I just, you know, not to get all, you know, sports boy on you here. But, I mean, you've got Chris Chambers and Vincent Jackson.
That's two pretty good weapons. You're at home. Those guys combined for two yards yesterday. How is that possible? I mean, that's like unfathomable that that happened. But Norv is an offensive genius. No. On TV, they were saying that this LaDainian Tomlinson, that he is having to adapt to this new offensive... point of view and mindset, which is that we are going to throw the ball. Well, not only that, but, I mean, it's, you know, it's a double-edged thing, Mikey. I mean, LT wants to run more. The offensive line, you know, lobbies to say, hey, let's run more. All right, they run, you know, they gave LT the rock 14 times yesterday. He got 24 yards. That's not a lot of yards, you know? Something's broken, and, you know, the frustration yesterday, Eddie, what's the lit song, My Own Worst Enemy, you know, where you wake up sleeping with your clothes on and all that, and you don't know why. They were, I mean, they were gifted opportunity after opportunity yesterday.
still couldn't get out of their own way. They had the great fake punt, and then, boom, holding penalty. You got to come back. Did you see the Michael Jenkins missed touchdown, but it, like, should have been a touchdown? Oh, yeah. And he was completely uncovered wide open in the end zone. How many Falcons were wide open yesterday? And I thought to myself, I was like, why is that happening? I mean, I can't remember the last time the Chargers had three big turnovers, and... still really weren't in the game. Well, they hadn't recovered a fumble in eight weeks, Eddie. They recovered three of them yesterday. And had they not done that, they would have been shut out. You know, I mean, they didn't really generate any offense yesterday. Weddle took one back on the fumble for 86. That dude, Douglas, you know, made a horrible, you know, here you go, you know, at the 20-yard line going in. Other than that, you don't score yesterday. So just, I know, and we're supposed to move on and not get all bitter, but I'm bitter because of the expectations. It is difficult because, you know, there are so many weapons.
on the offense, and you expect them to score 30, 40 points every single game. And when they don't, you scratch your head and go, what's going on? And, you know, you asked about LT, and, you know, I point to the offensive line not opening any holes. I mean, yesterday was one of the worst performances I think the O-line had in a long time. They have no fullback. You know, I think they really overestimated what they had in the fullback position. And that, I mean, LT really does need that. You know, he needs that guy to kind of, you know, blow open holes. And, you know, a lot of people are pointing to, you know, oh, they don't have Lorenzo Neal. Well, you know, Lorenzo Neal, I don't mind them getting rid of Lorenzo Neal just because of his age and things like that. But replace him with somebody, you know, that's, that's. Well, that's done it or that had right. Been there, done something. Yeah. And, you know, a lot of this is circumstantial, but it's just another just kind of, you know, thing to be glum about, you know, is that, you know, Turner goes to Atlanta, which was terrible. They're now eight and four. Lorenzo Neal goes to Baltimore. They were looking terrible. They're now 8-4. And that's all fine if the Chargers are 8-4, which you know they probably should be. But, you know, again, fire up that My Own Worst Enemy song and just listen to the lyrics. And that's what the Chargers are living. They can't get out of their own way. And the rest of us are kind of suffering for it. So it's too bad. Everybody has their opinion on why it's going on. And every time I think about it, I think if it was a different, if it was a,
One of these winning head coaches, he wouldn't allow them to have this personality. When you say, well, the players are the ones out there making the plays. Somebody like Bill Parcells, he doesn't allow them to do that. They know that if they do, their job is done. They're gone if they do that week after week. And they have a little bit of fear in them, and he's a motivator, and the guy gets the job done. A guy like that. This is going to be over real quick. I mean, it's not just Bill Parcells. There are tons of coaches that you hear that. And then you see these Chargers, like, with no... There's no there or there. There's just not... And that's, I think, the thing that frustrates people. For me, when I got it, Mikey, was when they were coming out of the tunnel and the Falcons were coming out of the tunnel, not to start the game, but to start the second half, Chargers were fresh off that great goal line stand. You know, they were first and goal. Atlanta was at, what, the two? Couldn't get it in with Michael Turner. Yeah. You know, who's a bulldozer. Yeah. You know, couldn't do it. They stopped him on fourth and an inch. You know, you figure they'd run off to the locker room, you know, going, yeah! You know, just woo! And, okay, they didn't run off doing that, but I figured, all right, they'll smack each other on the shoulder pads, come out and do it. They, I mean, lollygaggers. They just kind of wandered back out onto the field ten minutes later, and that stunned me. It's like...
Can't do it. We're all passionate. We want to see the passion. Did you happen to see what Atlanta's attitude was coming out of the tunnel? A lot of shoulder pads smacking and talking and bouncing and dancing. That's what I want. And not that you put it all. I mean, look, you guys just talked to Sean, you know, and they miss Sean because I can't see Sean Merriman letting that team walk out of the tunnel looking like they're on the way to the dentist. I just don't see that, you know. So they do miss Sean right now. They do. Yeah. I mean, you remember the footage of Marty. And I'm not saying, oh, let's bring Marty. You know what I'm saying? Those are some great videos. Poise! Poise! Poise! All right. Fine, Marty. Poise. Come on. Let's get fired up. How was your weekend otherwise, Mikey? Was it all right? I know. I get all bummed out talking about the Chargers. Well, I do, too. We should all shoot each other in the leg. Okay. Yeah. Like Plaxico did? The Chargers are a collective plaxico right now. They're shooting themselves in the thigh. There's so much self-inflicted garbage right now. My weekend wasn't bad. I went to Big Bear Lake for the first time. Did you? It's really beautiful. Was there any snow? There was no snow. In fact, it was all on Mike Smith's head. Atlanta's head coach. How white is his hair for a 45-year-old guy?
Wow. He's only 45? 45, 46. Yeah, I think it looks 60. No offense, but I'm just, you know. And I saw Quantum of Solace. Oh, nice. You saw the Casino Royale, right? No. Oh. I did not. Oops. I did not see Casino Royale. And if you haven't seen Quantum of Solace, the new James Bond movie, first of all, it helped that Eddie set me up and told me that the opening sequence is so fastly edited that it's hard to watch. follow, and he was right. Were you ready for it at least? Yeah, it helped to know that. So if you haven't seen it, know that going in. And I didn't understand one part of the movie. Nothing. I didn't understand one part of it. But I thought it looked cool. I thought it looked cool, and I thought there was cool action and everything, but I didn't understand it. You've seen Royal as a much better movie, and you have to watch that to watch Quantum of Stalls. You have to. Yeah. I didn't get it. Yeah, you'd be in the dark. I was lost. Yeah. So, yeah, there is. What about you guys? Let's talk about how our vacations were and what we were up to. What did you guys do? I went up to my folks up in the bay, hung out there, golfed a little bit, ate yams for the first time in 20 years. Oh, congratulations. You did? Awesome. How did you like them? Well, when I was a kid, I think around 10 was the last time I had them, and I vomited because they were so gross. They were yams. Yeah.
With the marshmallows on top? Yeah, the whole deal. And every time they were brought out of Thanksgiving, I look at them and I get sick to my stomach. Gross. I'll never eat those. But when we were in Hawaii, we ate this purple potato that they served at one of the luau's or whatever. And it reminded me of a sweet potato. And I thought it tasted good. And so I said, well, this year I'm going to try them again. So they came out and I got that queasy feeling. But I said, no, I'm going to do it. I scooped one up and I put it on my plate and it had a lot of the marshmallows on it, thank God. And I ate it and I'm like, hey, that's pretty good. And I enjoyed it. Really? Yeah. Wouldn't be something I'd eat all the time. There you go. But it wasn't bad. Was there like inspirational music playing in the background? That's right. Pretty much. That's right. There was cameras going off. It was really great. It's like a coronation. Where were you, Josh? Were you here? Well, yeah, I had a little bit. We had the blood drive on Tuesday here for the Chargers. I want to thank all the P1s that came. My buddy Chuck and I played the music and had a great time. Right on. Chuck had a ball. He hadn't been to San Diego and is a total convert.
Every time with that guy. We played a lot of music. We had some laughs. Went back to Dallas for some turkey and two Charger losses. Brutal. That's about it. White meat, dark meat? White meat. Who's white meat here on the show? Me. Eddie, Sky, Zeth. Rob, you are too? I am not. I'm dark meat. Dark meat all the way. You are too, Ashley? Yeah, dark. Sky is so opinionated about Thanksgiving food. Although... What? Sky, heads up. I had a smoked turkey this past Thanksgiving. Anyone ever had a smoked turkey? Never. Dude, did you? Well, not this year. Sky, you probably hated it. You smoked a turkey. Oh, is that different? When you stick a bong in there. Sky, do you like it, Sky? Well, I don't really care for turkey in general. Because it tasted like ham, though.
It was like so insanely moist, and it tasted like ham. It was so moist. Maybe you actually had ham and thought it was turkey. No, I swear. It was like all of us were tripping out. You didn't smoke turkey. Scott, does it taste like ham? I didn't get that. I got that it was like moist, kind of like ham is moist, but as far as tasting like ham, I didn't get that. But to each their own, yeah. It's nice. We didn't have a lot of traditional stuff. Oh, no. Yeah, we didn't have the yams. In fact, until you mentioned it right now, I didn't even think of it because I was in charge. I didn't even think of it. Skye, how was yours? Dude, my sister-in-law. She is like Martha Stewart on crack. Like, she did it up so fast. Like, first of all, all the traditional stuff, the mashed potatoes, the stuffing, the yams, and then above and beyond with different vegetables, figs with goat cheese. I'm sure you ate those. She made a pumpkin lasagna. Oh, yum. Anyone? Pumpkin lasagna. For Thanksgiving? Yeah. Along with all the other stuff. And then there was ham and turkey. My mouth's watering.
I think there were six desserts. Like, it was so crazy. How did she do that? I don't know. And then, of course, the table is set. Did you try pumpkin lasagna? I did. Did you like it? Well, because no one was really trying it, and I felt bad. Wow. So I took a little bit. Because I don't really like pumpkin-y things. I don't like pumpkin pie. I do. I do. I'm not a fan of any of that. I do. But, you know, I wanted it to look like people were trying it. Is it? Who does? Okay, wait. Question. Yeah. The whole reason that you're able to take something like a pumpkin and turn it into a pie is because you make it sweet and therefore it's edible. But a pumpkin on its own is disgusting. The way that you make it edible is you make it sweet. So was this lasagna sweet pumpkin? It was a very cheesy taste. And yeah, it was a little sweet. Like it was a real lasagna. It was lasagna. Like lasagna noodles, like a couple different kinds of cheese. Eddie's going to vomit. I love it. Look at him. He's going to throw up. I love it. He's mocked throwing up. Sounds great. Oh, stop. That sounds so disgusting. You do a good mock throwing up like that too. You should have seen that. No, no. You know, other people tried it too. You liked it though. Were there leftovers? Yeah. Cook it up. Can you please? Look at Ashley will take. I'll bring you some tomorrow. Yes. Yeah, there's some in my fridge right now.
She's so excited. Dude, Rob eats out of a heated up tin can and he's like, that's gross. It's all gourmet. How did Mr. Turkey Boy do over there? Yeah, how'd you do, Rob? He's shaking his head no. Oh, no. This is not good. Break it down quickly. Oh, man. There's no such thing. He doesn't do anything quickly. I know. It's true. They're no good. You've got to eye this kind of thing. Well, you've got to put them in the right spot. My work is fine. I read the directions. Bro, that's not true. You can't eye it. About where to put it in and the leg. And I was jamming it in. It was hitting bones. I'm like, no. No. No. They don't work. What's your turkey, Rob? Listen, Mike. No. You are the worst turkey ever. Was it thawed? Completely thawed? Yeah. Was it thawed? It was... Listen to me. It was thawed. Did you turn the oven on? I didn't know turkeys could bleed after you took them out of the oven. What did he say? He didn't know turkeys could bleed out of the oven. Well, they're not supposed to bleed out of the oven. Oh, this one was... It was like an ER in my kitchen. Oh, that's so foul. That's so gross. Get it? Foul? Yes.
Sounds like my Thanksgiving. I'm OJ Simpson and that's the way I like my turkey. Extra blood, please. Can you leave the head on mine? I like to take care of that. I'll deal with the neck. No trouble. I carry a butcher knife in my pocket. Oh, no. Rob. What's the matter with you? What are you talking about? I can figure it out. If you let me work by myself and just eye it in. Too many cooks in the kitchen. Too many cooks in the game and names. Sarissa just gave me Sarissa. You just gave her name. You just gave her name. Give her initials. Her initials are Sarissa. Listen, she's sleeping. It's fine. Was she all up in your kitchen telling you how to cook that turkey? A little bit.
But I don't mind because, you know, I just I'm real easy about it. Yeah, if you want to take it out now, it's fine. But it's only turkey. It's a 20 something pound turkey. How long? Three hours. No, 20 pound turkey. 27 pounds. 27. No, it's 45 pound turkey, Mike. Turkey. 20.86. It was like 21 pounds. I would say that that would take at least four and a half hours. Four and a half, and then you start to brown the top. I do this all by eye, and I just... Oh, my God. I don't understand. So when did you take it out? Listen. When did you take it out? She wanted timers going, and I'm like... When did you take it out? What year is this? You just eye it, and you kind of... When did you take it out? He's listening to Jeff and Jerry. Can't hear me. Rob, how long was it in there when you took it out? It was in there for three hours. That's so gross. Well, I didn't want to take it out. This was not my choice. So did you put it back in? Well, once we tried to cut the leg off and blood squirted it out.
The dark meat was red. It's so gross. I will never eat Thanksgiving. Hey, hold on, hold on. I made up for it, though. Put this thing back in there after we had finished everything else because everyone thought that the turkey was done. So now we're scrambling to get everything else done. So every side dish and everything is finished, on the table, ready to go. And I go, the turkey's got to go back in for a second. Oh, man. I put ham in the microwave full of stuff to try to keep it warm, to salvage. Wait, wait. So you cooked off the rest of the turkey by cutting it and putting it in the microwave? Uh-uh. No, you put it back in the oven. We had to stash the food in the microwave. All the side dishes. Yeah, yeah, to just kind of keep it warm. Keep it warm. And with the turkey, did you put the turkey back in the oven and crank the heat, or what did you do? No? Well, at first I was asking Gabe, I was like, should we just cut the whole thing up and just put it in the oven, you know, cook it real quick? What did he say? No, I didn't. I was thinking about that because I wanted to do this as quick as I could. Yeah. So we just crank the heat up a little bit. You do it at 450 for about half an hour. Hey, pal. That is so dry and gross. It wasn't the best turkey we've had. Last year it was a little bit better. But...
So you put it in there at $4.50. I've never used a thermometer or timers and nothing. I'm telling you. Stop blaming that. It's the gut, right? Yeah, it's guys' intuition. It's a man's intuition. It's a man's intuition that really determines. What you need to do is be thankful for the life you got. You know what I'm saying? I do. Stop looking at what you ain't got. Start being thankful for what you do got. Let's get to it. Turkey stuffing and botulism. That's like a great Thanksgiving right there. Can you hang with us? Yeah, no, I'm good. No more Chargers talk for a while, though. I'm more depressed than that last turkey story. Honestly, I don't think there's a point. No, we're beating it up. Yeah, what are you going to do? Mikey, did you guys see the Foo Fighters on Top Chef? My friend was there. My friend was there and said that it was even way more hilarious in person. I didn't. My wife watches that. It was great. Yeah, was it good? Yeah, they had to cook a Thanksgiving dinner for the Foo Fighters. So they made all kinds of goofy stuff for them. Didn't they do it like...
Backstage at one of their shows. Yeah, at one of their shows. And the Foo Fighters, I guess, are big foodies and watch the show. They were great, man. They had to cook the turkey, I heard, in a toaster oven. Yeah, they gave them microwaves and toaster ovens to make the Thanksgiving dinner. And so they had no real stoves or ovens to cook any of the stuff. They pull it off? Yeah. One of the turkeys, they said, was really good. Really? Better than Rob's. There you go. Rob says you got to use a man's intuition with that. Josh Lewin hanging out in the studio with us. Britney Spears did this thing last night. It was like a documentary. And it's kind of a big deal. A lot of people are talking about this. And I was listening to some of the clips and I... feel sorry for Britney Spears because I think that it was one of these deals where she was a kid and her mom was like, and she had some talent and her mom got very excited about it and opportunities came and mom took the opportunities and she started to get bigger and bigger and bigger and I think it's a weird lifestyle to have everybody in the world know you and be famous and
I don't think her little young brain was capable of, what do they call that? Her little young brain wasn't capable of processing all of it. And to grow up in the middle, it's the same story you've heard with a bunch of child stars. They get into drugs and alcohol because fame and little kids, I don't think it mixes. Well, yeah, and even as adult, adult stars, it seems, can't handle it. So imagine a child trying to go through that. For sure. Cut four. With Justin, he was a part of the magnitude of what I'd become. So then when he was gone, I was like, what am I supposed to do with myself? Do you know what I mean? And I was so young. I didn't know. And I was really famous. I would go out just to keep my mind busy, just to keep going. You know what I mean? Just to keep myself, you know, so I became like just a goer, a real busy girl.
Aponteville. All right, girl. I feel like I handled the breakup. I was devastated, but I handled it a lot better than the one with Kevin. See, here's the deal. All matter of opinion. You guys can chime in. But I think that a lot of her stuff, a lot of the Britney Spears stuff, so she gets broken up with a guy. And what do girls do when they get broken up with a guy? They try to keep busy. They go out with their friends. They, you know, go out to clubs. They try to forget what's going on, you know, when they're little. Well, I say little, but when they're young. And I don't think that she was any different. She did stuff that other teenagers or girls in their young 20s do. The difference was is that she had people following her around and taking pictures of her and people sort of...
blogging about her and picking apart all the different things that she was doing, you know, which that would hurt my feelings to hear people say stuff about me. Now, this is what people always say. Well, she's the one that chose that lifestyle and blah, blah, blah. I've said this before. What we all do is if we're good at, listen, if I could sing like Chris Cornell, I'd be singing. If we had a gift or if we had an ability. If you're a girl listening right now and you were six feet tall and you had the capability of being thin and you were beautiful, I wonder what you would be doing right now. If you were a guy that could play football and you were extraordinarily talented at it, I wonder if you would say, yes, but you know what? That involves a lifestyle that will put me under the scrutiny of others. And so I think that what I'll do instead is I will go into.
Anthropology and baking. Yes, I think we do. We either have something we really dig and we go for it full force or we have a certain ability and we just, opportunity, it's about opportunities, what we're good at. You know, you just do what you do. And so I have a different take on the whole celebrity thing, man. My take on the celebrity deal is... They're just doing what any of us would be doing, and I think it kind of blows that they got to be made fun of and all that stuff because it would hurt my feelings. It would hurt my feelings a lot if people were saying how ugly I am or if people were pointing out things about me that even I don't like. Just judging for no reason. Dude, it's gnarly. I just think to be judged and to be made fun of and to be all that stuff hurts, man. At such lengths. Yeah. And it's on a big stage. It's got to, you know. But it doesn't. I'm not saying that this is like, oh, yeah, she's off the hook. Because I'm not saying that. But all I'm saying is, man, I'm a jerk, too. Well, you're right, Mikey, because she doesn't have a skill set, like you say, to process. You know, I mean, you live your life in a fishbowl that big.
there are going to be issues. Eddie, Ricky Williams, right? Very talented running back. Walked away from football for a little while because he wanted to go smoke some weed and live with the Maharishi or whatever. I respect that. If it wasn't in him, yeah, he's got the talent, but if he wasn't burning to do it, go do something else. I always tell the story about meeting Ricky Williams the day that he was drafted and how scared he looked. I shook his hand, and just this look in his face. I was like, uh-oh, what now? He was overwhelmed. He was scared. But that's honest. I'm cool with that. Robert Smith was a great running back, and he didn't have the fire to do the whole NFL thing. Probably could have played for five more years. Just didn't want to do it. Didn't want to live in the fishbowl like that. I respect that totally. But I even have to say, Ricky Williams compared to Britney Spears, you can't even compare in terms of what she's kind of gone through because her name became so big. Yeah, right. I mean, she couldn't outrun anything. In terms of fame and stardom. Yeah, and I don't know if you have the audio, but she was talking about how literally it got to the point where she was so famous that she could not go anywhere without having 50 paparazzi following her, not even to the store. Cut eight. A lot of things that go on with me aren't right, and that's where I get a little jaded, you know, going to.
A certain place and wanting to get ice cream and like, you know, a certain time of night and wanting to walk down the grove and feeling the crispy air and having a stroll with one of your friends. And, you know, those are the times where I'm like, I wish I wasn't famous so you could feel a part of the people. Now, listen, I want to be really clear so that people don't mistake anything in my overall tone about Britney Spears. Lest people think I'm saying, oh, we should all just really feel sorry for Britney Spears and what a terrible, you know, what a victim and all that stuff. All I'm saying is that one thing that I've learned within the last couple of years is that there are no black and whites. There's a lot of gray area. Eddie says there's black and whites out in the ocean. That is true. I forgot about those black and whites. They're the worst kind. I forgot about those. But what I mean is, is that there's a lot of gray area. There's a lot of gray area. And so I, and this is just the way I process it, man. You guys are totally well, everybody's welcome to their opinion. And you guys know I've gone through some changes, but I think to myself, I go, man, I just have to put myself in that position. And I think, well, would I do it differently? You know, rising in fame, would I do it differently? How differently would I do it? How would I, we go, man, you're telling me that it sucks.
Anything that's going on in her life, she makes millions of dollars. Compared to people in other countries, probably we do too, you know? And it doesn't matter if you're making eight bucks an hour. Well, there's a total upside to being Britney Spears. You get to be Britney Spears. I mean, you get to do a lot of really cool stuff. Well, you get to do pretty much whatever you want. And that sense of entitlement, I think, kind of creeps in. And, you know, that's part of every part of your life. I mean... You sign up for that, though. If you're going to be Britney Spears, it's cool to the millionth power on this side. But also, Mikey, on the other side, it's what she's saying. She can't, what is it, the crispy air? All right, so you give up walking in the crispy air, but you get to be Britney Spears. That's what you sign up for. But I think what the deal is, is that we have a perception of what we think being Britney Spears is. And this is what we think. Oh, first in line at clubs, buying whatever you want, being rich. You're on the cover of magazines. You're really pretty. Well, that's the cool side, right. But there's the gray that you're talking about. There's another side to it. What gets a person to shave their head? A girl. A girl. A young, beautiful girl. What gets you to a point where you're so loopy that you'd shave your head? There's a lot of junk going on, I think.
Yeah, but that's not. But what I think what Josh is saying is right. Yeah, there's all the junk you're talking about. But there is that part where, you know, she can fly off on a whim and go to Morocco or, you know. So let's walk that. So let's talk. There's an upside and a downside to it. Let's take that to its conclusion. OK, so let's assuming that the deal is. Wait a second. This is a good thing because we're saying it's good and bad. There's upside and a downside. Got it. Got it. There's an upside and a downside. Let's talk about the upside. OK. And let's take it to its, let's take that thought to its conclusion. Let's say it's us. All right. Are we going to quit? Are we going to quit because it hurts so bad? Or are we going to stay in it because we're good at it and it's really all we know how to do? And we do, like, that's what we do. It basically is the upside worth the downside. That's what you have to process. Yeah. Is the upside, which is what Sky and Josh were talking about, the flying wherever you want, buying whatever you want, being on the covers, all that stuff that we seem to think is cool. And doing your passion. I think that's another upside. But if it is your passion, I think that's what Mike is kind of getting at, too. For the downside, which is the paparazzi, the bloggers, the stuff that's the negative aspect of being a celebrity. Yeah, well, let's take what we do. I mean, this is what we do.
And this is really all I know how to do. If I wasn't doing this, I really don't know what if I lost this tomorrow, I don't know what I would do the next day. I guess I would try to get another radio job because it's all I know how to do. And so now let's say we were in L.A. and the Mikey show became really super popular. And then they were taking pictures of us and they were saying really bad stuff. OK, but we got signed to go do this big contract in L.A., right? You can do whatever you want in L.A. whenever you want to do it. That's the upside. You know, we're getting you know, they're letting us in. But like everybody upon everybody is talking about how ugly we are. They're talking about every single flaw about us. They're taking pictures of our family and they're posting them on websites and they're putting them on magazines and they're talking about how fat and ugly our family is. Like, OK, so then you got to ask yourself, well, Then if somebody were to say, well, yeah, but hello, first in this such and such restaurant, blah, blah, blah. Like that wouldn't mean poop. So you'd quit? No, no, no, no. I'm not, I'm not talking. I would not quit. That's the point. That's the point. The point is I would not quit. My point is.
How vicious and ugly it is. The paparazzi. What you would have to do, Mikey, and I think you already do this to a certain degree because you have to. You have to find a way to be kind of zen about the whole, you know, okay, people are going to take their shots. People are going to call me this, call me that. And I just, I can't let it get me. I can't. Well, if I were to highlight and circle what my whole point in the whole Britney stuff is and what everything is, what I would be highlighting and circling would be. The ugliness of what is written and said, the consumption of it. You know, when I hear about the stuff where people are crowding into the Walmart and stuff and they're trampling people, I circle that and highlight that and go, is this what we are? Like, is this what we are as people?
Gnarly, you know, and there are some people right in every crowd like think of a concert when it gets out of control and mob mentality breaks out or when you're at Walmart and the doors open and people are rushing in. Think of the mentality that happens there. There are some people that are going, you guys, hey, chill out, chill out, get back, get back. You know, there's always those people. So there's always, you know, I'll never I could never make this point enough to where the tabloids stop taking pictures. They're always going to take pictures. I guess. The thing that is a bummer for me is, man, it would be really cool if we could somehow start to think that it was ugly and crappy enough that we don't do it anymore. Because right now, the only reason that they do it is because we buy it. Well, there's an appetite for it. There's an appetite. And there's people out there that are willing to feed it, and that's fine. So until as a human collective, we don't have an appetite for it, Mikey. People are going to be trashing Britney Spears. Mikey, Eddie, me, everybody. I mean, that's just how it's going to go. Not me. Well, not Eddie. That's true. Big, big, big breaking news right now. Sky. Oh, yeah. What do we got? Well, Barack Obama, like we said earlier, is going to unveil his national security team. And one of the big rumors was, is Hillary Clinton going to be the secretary of state? Is she? Is she? Should we wait? Should we go to commercial and tell them we get back? Should we? Should we? Should we? I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do. Let's go to commercial. And when we get back.
We will give you the answer because they're making an announcement right now. Be right back. Mickey's show continues. Thank you for being big enough to laugh at yourself this morning. And one of the things that I talk about in terms of the upside is that if your check engine light comes on and you take it to Amco, they're going to tell you why it's on for free. And if any additional diagnosis is required, mention to them that you're a P1 and you'll get 10% off.

Condoleezza Rice says that Pakistan must cooperate with India's investigation into the terror attacks in Mumbai that killed 172 people. Sources say Browns coach Romeo Cornell will need a miracle finish to keep his job after a 10-6 loss to the Colts yesterday. So, President-elect B.O.?
It's Barack Obama. I was going to be making some announcements this morning about his, what, security staff? His national security team. And so before we went to break, we said, what's the deal? What did he say about Hillary Clinton? Yeah, that was the big rumor. Hillary Clinton. Well. What happened? This morning, Barack Obama announced that Hillary Clinton is his pick for Secretary of State. Oh. Wow. This reaction. Wow. an announcement. Do you want to hear her? You can call me Hillrod. She's the first female secretary of state, right? I am ready to rumble. Condoleezza Rice. She's the first black woman to ascend to secretary of state. It's kind of cool. It's not easy. It's not easy. She is the first black woman with a name that runs.
With Yandeliza. Here she is accepting. I'm sure that this will fire us up. Get ready, JFK fans. Yes. So dynamic. Yes. Mr. President-elect, thank you for this honor. If confirmed... Did she just fart? Yes, she did. That was a squeaker. So inappropriate. Secretary of State to break wind. She adjusted the microphone. Try a side of rice, ladies. Thank you for this honor. If confirmed, I will give this assignment, your administration, and our country my all. And take some Beano while you're there. I want to thank my fellow New Yorkers who have for eight years given me the joy of a job I love with the opportunity to work on issues I care about deeply in a state that I cherish. And you've also helped prepare me well for this new role. This is right off the top of your head.
Aren't afraid to speak their minds and do so in every language. Leaving the Senate is very difficult for me. But during the last few weeks, I thought often of our troops serving bravely under difficult circumstances in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. I thought of those other Americans in our foreign and civil services. Oh, boy, already. Promote and protect our interests around the world. And I thought of the daunting tasks ahead for our country. Man, Barack is a better speaker. He's more inspiring. Horrible events in Mumbai. No wonder Bill cheated. That one dropped my jaw. Hey, remember what Mike was just talking about? Josh, you're a guest. What? and the world cannot solve them without America. By electing Barack Obama, our next... She has Lance from NSYNC's haircut. Oh, cute. She is. It's the truth. ...to renew America's standing in the world. Are you almost done? Yeah, he's doing the pointing at the watch. The wrap-up sign, like, come on. Yes. I would play more of it, but...
You know, we want listeners. We get the gist. Yeah. We understand what's going on there. I think we all get it. That actually reminds me, Eddie, did you hang in there for the anthem at the Chargers game yesterday? Longest anthem ever. Who sang it? The dude from Vegas who was the entertainer of the year in Vegas. Danny Gantz? No, not Danny Gantz. No. The mantle has been wrested away. Oh, no. No. That's the bigger story. That is a huge story. I'm going to discuss this. Some ass clown. Hang on. Jimmy Hopper. Jimmy Hoffa? He's buried underneath the ass. He's buried in a jersey somewhere. I can't take you guys anywhere. Jimmy Hopper. The anthem ended four minutes ago. How long was it? It was long. I mean, it was twice as long as it needed to be. And I'm very patriotic. I love our country. Don't need the 80-minute anthem. Was he doing a lot of twists? A lot of runs. A lot of vocal flutterings. Yes. A lot of ins and outs and ups and downs. Lots of Josh Groban-style warbling. Here's the deal. I believe you know what kind of anthem you're going to get the first five seconds of being on. I agree. If the guy comes out there, or the girl, either way.
And it just looks like it's going to be a dramatic reading. Yes. You know, that's like point one. If the first seconds goes. If the first seconds goes. The vocal tremble is a bad sign. A sweeping hand motion left to right from like left chest area out to right. Port side there. Thank you. Wow. Why do you guys hate America? How dare you? I love it enough to have a 90-second anthem. That's how much I love my country. An hour and a half, not so much. Oh, there it is. Secretary of State, ladies and gentlemen, is now going to be Hillary Clinton and Defense Secretary Robert Gates. Yep, keeping the same guy. I was going to say, that sounds familiar. Isn't he the guy now? Yep. The head of Microsoft is also... That's insane. How does he get so lucky? The guy who dropped two passes on the opening drive? Oh, no! Number 85? That's offensive, not defense. It's a bad choice. I'm confused. Okay, we have to take a quick timeout. And we got so much cool stuff to do. So I want to hit on a bunch of stuff. When we get back...
Let's play the Dumb Chick Challenge. Mikey, thanks for having me in, buddy boy. All right, dude. I appreciate you coming in here. Love you, pal. See you. And we got some Plaxico Burris stuff that we want to play for you, too. Is he going to shoot himself again? Dude. What's your take, Josh? Shouldn't be shooting yourself with a gun and a nightclub. I agree with that. That's my take. I agree with that take. Yeah. 570-1053 is our phone number. And our text number is 35253. And let's take you out with this little rendering of the national anthem. This is Ashley singing a Japanese version of the national anthem. She was hypnotized at the time. She was hypnotized. I sound like whining little kids. It is the Mikey Show. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. The ride is just a mess this morning. I didn't think that people were that anxious to get back to work this morning. But, man, it's everywhere. You've got heavy fog to deal with for one thing. And then you've got just accidents galore everywhere. Just adding to the misery here. You've got a new accident on the 805 northbound coming up toward that 15 connector. That's just adding to the slow ride already. Had to chill with us down this 805. That's slow and go all the way over Mission Valley to Murray Ridge. And then again from Mesa College. Up to Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. The westbound 8 freeway has got plenty of stuff here to deal with as well out of the East County on pretty much on La Mesa. Let's try Jackson Drive all the way out toward Lake Murray. Then again from Waring and past the Q to Mission Center Road. Westbound 56, solar brake lights coming off that 15 through Rancho Penasquitos, Carmel Valley all the way to the 5. Southbound side of the 15, very heavy out of Escondido off to 78th of your Rancho Parkway. You've got a new accident also on the south 67 near Bradley. Still blacking up traffic there. And the South, let's have the 5 down the North Kennedy shoreline. Slow and go out of Lucania in the Solana Beach. Derek Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Man, I got the... Seriously. You were born that way. Oh, I know. What's your color? Is that the deal? KC. San Diego's Rock. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. Football helps me to forget any problem in my life. Eddie. That booty is...
Delicious. Sky. Oh, my brain is so bad. Today. Sean. Thank you. Be quiet. Boston Rob. I have a world that's in my mind. And Ashley. I'm a lit. Five-three. House's husband says in a new interview that he's the one responsible for getting Amy addicted to heroin crack and cutting. Okay. Are you serious? I didn't know she was a cutter. Oh, she, yeah. For real? And, like, burns herself. Oh, my goodness. And he says he's the one that did it? Uh-huh. Aye, aye, aye. Well, this is a more positive note. The Chargers, they lost to Atlanta yesterday, 22-16. LT, are you okay? The message was don't, you know, don't give up and don't quit. You know, this is not a team that is that going to quit. We don't have no kind of guys in our locker room.
You know, a lot of people around the league probably going to think we're going to pack it in and give up, but we won't. You know, we're going to play as hard as we ever played. And, you know, just for them guys that know in that locker room, just make sure whenever we go out there on the field, make sure we're playing as hard as we can and make sure we at least get the respect from people, even if we don't win. For sure. Like, they should have played this at halftime. Dude, no. This will cheer anybody up. Oh, really well. Oh, it's gorgeous already. That's feeling the song. That's feeling the song. You ready? All the doves. In slow motion. White, beautiful doves. American flag waving behind it. Yes.
Yes. Videotape with bad tracking. Can you fix that? Here's my hair. In his neck. In his throat. In his throat. In your beam. Those are just rums. An angel just got its wings. That's right. That's right. You heard it right there. Hold it again. Hold it for a second time. We're going to have some clips. The Plaxco Burris, which are fantastic because we hear from everybody. The coach, we hear from everybody. Plaxico Burris, if you didn't know, accidentally shot his leg. Oh, man. How does that happen? Yeah, yeah. He accidentally shot his leg. So, but first, let's do a little bit of this, maybe. Why don't we do some dumb chick challenge? In what may prove to be a very little exercise in the substantiation of mental activity, the Mikey Show presents a somewhat gelastic moiety called the Dumb Chick Challenge. Sky, Rob, and Ashley are the dumb chicks.
Not a chick, dude. And what we do is we ask them very normal, easy questions. As it crawflies. They're not hard. They are not hard. They are. They're difficult. Questions have a number value. One through three. Ones are easy. Threes are hard. First person to five points. Which, believe it or not, it takes us a while to get there. To get to the five. I've been studying, so watch out. For the record. What have you been studying? I've been studying. Coloring books ain't studying. That's right. Highlights are not studying. Pop up. Okay. P1 T-Rex? Y'all got your jokes. Who would you like? Guy. That's a good choice. Wow. T-Rex. Disappointed in your pal. Oh, stop it. I'll dedicate the win to you, though, today. All right. We'll see how it goes. Ooh, look at this. P1 Adam, your selection is? Ashley. Rob is the last. They're smart, Rob.
P1 Third Day fan, you get Rob. We're playing for third day tickets. This is perfect, Rob. You're smart. Hang on the line, P1 Third Day fan, will you? Yep. Hang on. Third day playing this weekend. I am emceeing the event. If you want tickets, go to milesahead.com. Miles is going to come in here in about an hour. That's right. And we're going to promote it. I didn't even dress up. Dang it. Skye did not wear. You're supposed to email me. Yes, you would have worn the nice whatever. Yes, the nice sweats. Skye would have worn her dress sweats. All right, let's do this. Eddie, who starts? We're going to start with Ashley today. I feel it. I think you got it today. It's fine. Everything's fine. I've been studying, so this is going to be a breeze. I don't know.
Let's go ahead and shoot straight for the middle and go for a two. Start it off slow. I don't want to get crazy. All right, let's try this out. You know what I'm saying, Seth. Do this. Riddle me this, Ashley. I don't know why she just went to Seth on that one either. I just want to make sure he was awake. Yeah, you just woke him up. Kid was sleeping. Yeah, leave him alone. Your two-point question is, the scapula is more commonly known as what bone? The scapula. I had veal scapulas. Delicious. Scapula. Flip eggs with it. Dude, I so know this. Hello. It's in there. Scapula. S-C-A-P-U-L-A. Yes. Scapula. Is better known as what bone? Yep. Not the shoulder. Hands in praying position up to the nose. She's staring at her console. I'm overthinking it. Yeah, she's overthinking it. Think about the studying. You're overthinking it. Think about the studying. Go back to the books. Yeah. I will say, what, bone? Yep. Oh, she just slapped her forehead with the palm of her hand. You're overthinking it. I'm overthinking it? Yeah, you're overthinking it. Yeah. Total case of overthinking. You're underthinking it. Yeah. Another case of underthinking. Yeah.
Back to the books. I think you're right. Come on. Is it possible she's underthinking it? I think so. Very much so, Mike. Okay, the scapula is better known as the bone that's the leg. The bone that's the leg. Yeah. Skye, you don't have to muffle that laugh. Let it go, girl. Let it go. Let it out. Hey. Let it out. Hey. I know that's not right. I can't. Don't fight it, Skye. Don't fight it. Don't fight it. Don't fight it. Like that you said what it wasn't. Enjoy it. Make friends with it. What did you say? Hug it. It's not the shoulder. It's not the shoulder bone? It's the shoulder blade. It's the shoulder. Oh, Ashley, I want to hug her. I overthink it, and then I do, and then that's what happens. She starts out overthinking, and then she goes to the end of it. Why can't I just figure out my life? Why can't I just figure out my life? Right. Gosh! Can we save that clip? No, we cannot. What are you thinking here? Are you thinking a three-pointer for sure? Yeah, no doubt about it, baby. Do it, Sky. Come on. I'm thinking a two-pointer. Oh, you are traditional. Fine. Sky, dry ice is the solid form of what gas? Oh, man. Side of rice. That doesn't even make sense, Eddie. Yes. That will be accepted. Yes. Which is more commonly known as?
A fart. The toots. A pooter. I'll show you what kind. Give me a quesadilla. Well, Mike, pull my finger. Walk by my bathroom anytime. Yes, the one with the door open. Open door policy. Do I? Underthink it. What you want to do is you don't want to overthink it. Don't do that. Just, you know, clear your mind. And go with you guys. Medium think it. I don't really know. I'm thinking carbon monoxide, but that's not right. That doesn't kill people or something. And then there's nitrous, but then everybody would want to buy it and like huff it. Or race up and down Mira Mesa. There'd be a run on it in the Vietnamese Honda community. Nothing I'm thinking makes sense, so I'm going to say carbon monoxide. Sky, you are half right.
And it rhymes with carbon monoxide. Dioxide. Son of a gun. Carbon dioxide. This is a tough match. Robert. Let's try a three. I know. I'll try a three. Meat thermometer. The game is tied, by the way. Yes. Well, yeah. It is. We're all tied up. Yep. Thank you, Mike. I haven't gone yet. At zero. Hold your horses. We get it. Here's your three-point question. Let's make it easy, Mike. What device, Boston Rob, do musicians use to keep perfect timing? Metronome. That is correct. So they're going with the three-piece guy. Yeah, dude. I didn't know that. Rob is on the board. Songs or movies? Let's talk about that Flowbots thing. What about it? Every time I hear that, I'm like, why don't they just call themselves I'm cooler than you are? Oh, they are. They have Arrested Development references in their song. Fine. They get it, bro. Eddie, do you know any Flowbots stuff? I've heard it, but I just...
It's so good. It doesn't speak to me. Oh, it's so good. It doesn't speak to me either. I don't know that language. It does, but I don't speak that language. Oh, you should. Ashley, what would you like? Look at this. She's putting her fingers together like, what would I do? What would I do? Eddie. Eddie's turned his back on her. Why are you being like that, Tom? She wants you to help her. Look at me. I ain't your boy. You are my boy. You are right now. I'm not my homie right here. That's right. Oh, you're the worst. Ash. Mike. Oh, she's showing me. Oh, you're asking me? Ashley, don't do this to me. He can't help you. I can't help you because I know what the questions are. No, it is unfair. That's a five, Mike. Okay, I'm torn between a two and a three. So let's just go for a three. Okay. And I'll do a two the next time. You got it. And then that'll be wrapped up and then we'll move on. Wow. Right, Seth.
Yeah. Three-point question is, what year was JFK assassinated? Oh, come on. Give me that one. What year was JFK assassinated? He's dead? 1842. You see, the joke is sky-setting. It's the year she thought the pilgrims. 1962. That is incorrect. It's very close. Ashley, it was so close. He got shot in 63. I almost want to give it to her. I do too. No, I don't. Ash, I'm telling you, I'm recognizing you as good. You're very close. You're very close. Leg? Anybody? You're supposed to have her back. Sky. Oh, sorry. I would like a two, please. Boring. Sky, APB is a law enforcement acronym short for what?
Well, they issue them. Come on. Oh, wait. All points bulletin. Yes, guys. Very good. It's like she flipped the brain switch. Yeah, it was basically what happened. Dang. The score is 3-2. You took my two. The score is 3-2. Come on, Riz. Boston Rob, you can win the game right here. Yeah, I want to try to go for it. For P1 Third Day fan. Come on. What? Do you want to wrap it up with a two or do you want to go easy with a one? What are you going to do? I don't know. I mean, we're discussing maybe a possibility of a one, but let's take it through. We'll try to. Your two-point question is, what is a baby whale called? What is a baby whale? Wow, Skye is blinking on that one. She thinks she knows. Yeah, and there it is. Recognition. Not sure, though. A calf? That is correct. Oh, what's up, T-Rex? Where's my boy at, huh? Dedicated to you. T-Rex, that one was going out to you, buddy. I don't know why you didn't have faith in your boy Riz. Stop it. Leave T-Rex alone. Sorry, T-Rex. Ladies and gentlemen, P1 Third Day fan, look at that. Boston Rob knocking it out of the park for you. The man. Yeah, that's what I'm saying, man.

by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. The rough ride continues, though. We are seeing some better-looking speeds in some freeways, especially right now out of the East County. That's improved quite a bit. The West 94 still a bit slow towards that 805, and then again from 32nd Street and the downtown. The West 8 is cleaned up quite nicely, just a brief delay past the queue here in Mission Valley. Coming out of the South Bay, though, still struggling in this 805 out of Chula Vista. That's slow go all the way into North Park, and then again from Mesa College up over the 52 towards Governor Drive. South 15, still plenty of brake lights here off the 78th down to Via Rancho Parkway. And then some reduced speeds again through Carmel Mountain Ranch. The Westbound 56 has been a crawl all morning long. And that's still the case here from Black Mountain Road, slow and go through Carmel Valley to the 5, heading south in the 5. Still plenty of stuff here from Encinitas and Solana Beach. And the South 163 is still seeing a very tough ride here from Friars Road and toward the park into downtown. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Hey, who is this? Love it. Right. I saved $1,600. If you're driving right now and you're listening...

I smoked so much pop. All those years, I blew my brain out. What do you want from me? Sean. Pet Shop Boys are one of my favorite groups. Boston Rock. I wish I was smarter so I could fight this better. And Ashley. I am a very, very... twitchy person, and I feel like it's because I have ADD. The Mikey Show is on Rock 105.3. The number one song downloaded on iTunes right now, and the number one hip-hop song in the country are the same. It's Beyonce. This song is called Single Ladies, and Ashley's saying, yeah, Beyonce, I'll do what you say. I'll put my hands up. Ashley's got her hands up. She's raising the roof. She's dancing. She likes the hip-hop dancing. You like Beyonce, right, Ash? Yes. Me too. I'm really into her. Really? I like the what? The dance. No, you don't. Another lie. Sorry, I like to hip-hop dance. My wife sometimes gets annoyed because you just can't keep me off the dance floor. That's true. That's not true. Eddie gets it. What is that, Eddie? What do you call that? This is the paralyzed from the waist down. That's what it's called? Oh, wow. Because everything on top is moving. Yeah. Everything on top is moving. Yeah, bottom not so much.
If I were not a talk show host, I'd be a choreographer for sure. Did I say the time yet? No. Oh, 8.43 then. Nassau County police blame lack of security for the Walmart trampling death on Black Friday. More controversy for the BCS. Oklahoma jumps over Texas to take the number two spots, which means Oklahoma now will play in the Big 12 championship, but not Texas, who beat Oklahoma. Oh, man. Real quick, I want to make a correction when I was talking about Vons. I feel like such a dork. I feel like a trained monkey if it's, like, not in front of me. You're like Ron Burgundy. Yeah, I was so Ron Burgundy right there. I didn't have the end date on the Vons double power pump gas rewards points in front of me. So reaching for a date, I said some sort of date in September, which makes no sense whatsoever. So, of course, all the details are on Vons.com. But to clarify, it ends December. 25th. Sounds like September. I thought I had like a whole long time. So that's where I went wrong. Great story. Compelling and rich. I think you guys are going to enjoy this. Now it's time for the YouTube clip of the day. This guy fancies himself a good singer. It is not a joke. And I find it delightful. Oh no. Ladies and gentlemen, Park Ji Song with Touch My Body.
Wow. It's an interesting mix at the end, but I love it. Now, we're still posting these videos on MikeShow.com because I need to see what this delicious treat is. Yeah, you got to accompany. The video has to accompany. Yeah, okay. MikeShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. And the YouTube clips of the day are now all there, so you can not only hear them, you can now actually see them as well. Yes, visual enjoyment.
Plaxico Burris. Oh, Plaxy. Yeah, who, by the way, was a guest on the Mikey Show. And I thought he was very honest, open, you know. But I didn't know anything about Plax. Otherwise, I would have asked him, like, hey, are you crazy? Are you crazy? Are you crazy? He had a gun in his pocket at a nightclub. Happens. Everybody does it? At one time or another? Is that right? Everybody does? I just assumed. Well, I don't know if everybody keeps it, you know, not with the, that doesn't have the safety on it. Yeah, loaded, safety off, right in the pocket. That's right. Where else are you going to keep it? While I'm getting drunk. That's right. Need alcohol in that mix. Well, he asked for a shot and... Hello. Hello. Well, um... Shot himself in the thigh. Ow. Purple hooter. That's right. He shot himself in the thigh, and it hurt. And now everybody is making comments about it. This is his attorney, Benjamin Brafman. Oh, Benjamin Brafman, I see. Benjamin Brafman. Very curious case. The very curious case of Benjamin Brafman. Here is his attorney talking about the situation. Cut 19.
We are in contact with the New York City Police Department and the New York County District Attorney's Office in making arrangements for Mr. Barris to address these legal issues as early as tomorrow. And he will responsibly address these issues in short order. Unlike, he will responsibly address this. Unlike the irresponsible, you know, taking the gun to the thing. Eddie, what is the latest on Plaxico Burris? Well, this morning he did turn himself in to the New York Police Department. That is because it is apparently illegal to carry around a weapon that's not registered in the state of New York. Really? Yeah. When did they start that? I don't know. It's this new thing, I guess. The gun is registered in Florida. But it's not registered. Of course it is. Of course it is. Registered in Chile. Yes. Yeah. So, yeah, he's going to be charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Eli Manning, talk about it. Cut 20.
Gross. What's been on people's minds is his health and, you know, hoping that he has a speedy recovery. He's a teammate. He's a friend. And that's all we're worried about is what was his circumstances. He's a bad shot. He's a friend. He's a butterfinger. He's doing well. And, you know, should we get him out of the hospital soon, if not already out? And so that's good news. That's good news to hear. So we wish him a speedy recovery. Hopefully he's around. He'll be around as soon as he can around the locker room because all the guys like to see him. He's a teammate. He's a friend. He's an odd decision maker. So the guy can catch a 70-yard bomb, but he can't handle a gun. That's correct. That is correct. Think about it. To Plax's defense, he rubs butter all over the gun. Oh, wow. Nobody mentions that. And the big controversy is whether or not he tried to hide the gun. Oh, yeah. And get rid of it. Him and his teammate, Antonio Pierce, apparently, we were trying to do that without... What position does he play? He's a linebacker. But I'm sure we'll find out more about that once the police investigation continues. You want to hear head coach Tommy Coughlin? I'm sure he's happy about that. Well, yeah, dude, I'll tell you what. He has a super good sense of humor. Yeah, good outlook on life. He seems to be very easygoing. Well, his nickname is Sunshine. Yeah.
Cut 21. We all are upset about what happened to Plexico, and hopefully he's going to be fine and so on and so forth. That's our first concern. Blah, blah, blah. Once he was taken care of, we knew that he was okay. Then I think the guys got right back to focusing on the reason we were here. Tom, what are you going to do when you see him? I'm going to kill him. I'm going to wring his filthy neck. Aim that gun upward. I'm going to shoot him. That is a strange happening. That is the curious case of Plaxo Burris. So that's, you know, the latest. The latest is that he's turned himself in to police. And I don't know if they have the gun. And I don't know if it's going to make a big difference or whatever. But how did he? I'm putting it together in my head. I'm like, okay, it slipped. You go to catch it. But how do you go to catch it? And you like put your finger through the trigger and pull the trigger. How did it happen?
How does a gun just fall out of your pocket? Yes. Yeah. How does it fall out of your pocket? Maybe he was wearing the parachute pants. Yeah, okay, but then the parachute pants would have had to have a pocket big enough for a gun to fall out, you know, inside. Like, how did it fall out of your pocket? Did it fall out from inside your pocket or were you taking it out of your pocket and it, like, what? Catch on the zipper. Oh, it could happen. What dance were you doing? Okay, question. To make that thing shake out. let's say that what we've heard happened is not what really happened. What possibilities? Like, what could happen? What happened? He was showing it to his friend, right? Yeah. Somebody was goofing around, maybe. Maybe. Yeah, because think about that. All right, you got a gun in your pocket. You got to turn that gun inward. Yeah. Not down. Well, he said it was falling. He said it was falling and he went to grab it. What an idiot. But how? You're going to be an idiot to shoot yourself in the thigh. In the thigh. Think about it. You didn't hit any arteries, by the way. No arteries, no bone. Lucky, right? Went straight through the meat. Yeah. You don't hear Matt Light getting in that kind of trouble. Get out of here with that, Matt Light. This is kind of interesting. Michael Phelps was on 60 Minutes explaining how he won the 100-meter butterfly. Yeah.
Cut 44. A photo finish if ever there was one. That's Phelps on the left, Cavich on the right. Looking at these photos, Phelps noticed something. What's going on there? Do you see here? He's picking his head up before he's finishing. So it's acting as like a speed bump. So he's coming up and then trying to lift his head up before he touches the wall. And mine's in a straight streamline. So that's the difference of the race. If his head's down there, he wins. Hands down wins the race. How crazy is that? Is that close? Oh, Michael Phelps. Kept his head down. Swim away with my heart. And now trying to be a professional poker player. He recently made the final table at Caesars Poker Classic. Is it true that he wears dark goggles while he plays? And plans to compete in the 09 World Series of Poker. I heard that's what he does. Yeah, Mike. 570-1053 is our number. Our text number is 35253.
What is this? Nothing, Mike. What is it? Flowbots. Is this Flowbots? Are these white dudes or black dudes? White dudes. These are white dudes? Oh, that drives me crazy. White dudes singing like black dudes. It doesn't sound as good. See, I even went, is this a white dude or a black dude? I hear a fake black dude from Colorado, bro. You put a guitar in there and it's Linkin Park. Get out of here. Come on, man. Get out of here. Uh, 35253 is our text. Our phone number, 570-1053. When we come back, I got some great stuff for you today. When we come back, I got some great audio for you that I want to play. There were some surprises at the Macy's Day Parade. Oh, yeah, I watched it. You did? Like, the whole thing was awesome. Did I tell you guys that my brother had his glasses found by one of the Jonas Brothers? I didn't tell you that. Oh, then I'll tell you about the story when we get back.

The red cups are back. You remember the red cups that you see at Starbucks? They're back, and something really, really cool is going on. Starbucks is a good company. One of the things that they do is they actually try to give back to the places where the coffee that they use is made. And one of the ways that they're doing that is that they've created this red line, and it's...
Their effort to try to eliminate AIDS in Africa, 4,100,000 people die every day in Africa from AIDS, and it is a treatable disease. Already, their purchases have supported programs reaching more than 2,500,000 people, which is a pretty amazing thing. Now, if you go in there and you get one of their handcrafted drinks, now I'm talking about things like the peppermint mocha twist and the ginger snap latte, things like that. Those beverages, they're going to give five cents from every one of those beverages towards that cause. So do it today. Now back to Mikey. I have a newly developed fear of spiders. Eddie. Why do girls want to ruin our fun?
We all know that I don't like to spend money when I don't have to. I get really annoyed when people have sneezing fits. Welcome back. It's a Mikey show. It is 9-0-2. Guns N' Roses, which is basically Axl Rose, is threatening legal action against Dr. Pepper after their website crash, not allowing everyone to get their free soda coupons. Former Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin will be announced as the new head coach at Tennessee this afternoon. I gotta tell you this Jonas Brothers story. My brother... You guys know how my brother takes pictures? Steve? He takes pictures professionally now. Did you guys know that? No. He gets paid for it. Wow. He's so good. He takes real good pictures. So he was at taking pictures. He gets hired to take pictures at the Jonas Brothers concert. And he forgets his glasses in, like loses his glasses in one of the dressing rooms. And one of the Jonas Brothers turns it into security.
And like goes through all these great lengths to make sure that these, you know, because this Jonas brother feels sorry for whoever lost these glasses and was making sure that they had them. Yeah, talk about it, Mike. Stop it, Ashley. They're good brothers, those Jonas Brothers. Every single one of them. And you also know they're skinny pants. They do the skinny pants, but you hate the skinny pants. Well-rounded. Skinny ties. Gentlemen. It's ironic because they have skinny pants and giant eyebrows. Gentlemen and scholars. It is correct. It doesn't make any sense. And they're scholars. Speaking of scholars, ladies and gentlemen, Miles McPherson is in the studio. Ladies and gentlemen. Dollar and a gentleman. That's right. Don't mind if I do. That's right. And Miles is going to be at least doing something really cool this weekend. You got the big benefit concert going on and I'm going to emcee it for you. It's my boy. That's right. I'm listening to all these voices in my head. I know it. I got a question before I talk about that. Go ahead. To Sky. Are you saying that if I go to Vons...
Like a big door. I had to clarify. I don't really want to know. If I go to Vons and buy $100 a gift card, I get $200 a gas? No. Oh, no. So are you a Vons Club Card member? Yes. Okay, so you know when you use your Vons Club Card, you get, like, money off your gas? Yeah, $0.10 if you spend over $50. Yeah, if you spend a certain amount, you earn credits, which is money off a gas. It can be anything from, like, $0.10, $0.20, whatever. So if you buy $100 worth... Guy, fine. We'll show you the money. Can you relax? Just explain it to Miles? I'm trying. But you're screaming it at him. I'm trying. He's sitting right there. So if you buy $100 of participating gift cards. Show me the money. Then they double whatever credits you already have for gas. Show me the money. And that song, Touched My Body. Is that real? Yes. It's gorgeous. Who is that? It's a guy named Park Ji-sung. Bless you. Park Ji-sung. Park Ji Song. Okay. There you go. Well said. That's right. And he fancies himself a great singer. Well, he is a great singer. He is. He's delightful. If you missed it, we'll probably be playing it from now until the end of time. Don't worry. It's absolutely riveting. And you can see it. You can actually see the video at MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W. Which, by the way, is completely redesigned. Oh, hello. You're welcome. We have a brand new website.
He reminds me of that guy from American Idol that couldn't sing. Yeah. William Hung. Yeah, William Hung. Some people compare... Some people compare Ashley to William Hung. Oh, wow. Ashley was on American Idol, and if you didn't know what a good singer she is... Conversion software version 7.0. Taking out of context. Looking at life through the eyes of a tired hub. Very nice. She's a talent. She's a talent. That was her just a few weeks ago. It's amazing. This is y'all's job. That came out of a human being's voice box. That was actually it. Is she going to be at the miles ahead of bed? Is she going to be opening? No, headlining. She's headlining. Still waiting. This is Ashley singing a little Cher. Oh, thank you. That's the nuance. That's what I like is the nuance. See, here's the thing. A lot of people, when they do Cher, they don't get the nuance. The little stuff? It's the little stuff that counts. That was good.
So I don't know why, but that Miles asked if I'm not a good emcee, Miles. I'm emceeing this weekend. I'm going to do my best. I'm going to do my absolute best. Well, what makes a good emcee? Funny, funny. Keep saying that you're not a good emcee. I'll tell you what a good emcee is. A good emcee is funny, engaging, and I... You're more like young emcee. I'm more a young emcee. You bust a move. Yeah. Yeah, I'm a great dancer. No, I was asked to emcee this, and I'm going to do my very best to be funny. You know what I should do is plan to say some funny stuff, because I'm terrible. But you have to be funny, though. Me and Sean will write some stuff for you. Dude, that would be great. Give him some knock-knock jokes. I love those. I'm great behind a microphone. I get in front of people, though, Miles, and I hold the microphone, and I get nervous, you know, and I'm nervous. I get nervous. Eddie's giving Miles the thing. I'll do it. No, me and Rob. Yes, you guys. But Miles Ahead is going to be doing a benefit concert this weekend, third day. This is kind of like, you ever want to see a big band in a small venue, and it's not that small. I mean, how many people are you guys holding there? 3,500. Yeah, but third day could sell out Qualcomm. Yeah, man, they were playing. I mean, they're huge. Yeah, dude, they did now Cricket Amphitheater and sold that place out.
So it's a really cool opportunity to see a huge band. Yeah, in a very intimate setting. So it's this weekend. Tickets still available too, right, Miles? Tickets still available. And also we're going to have Papasan, who's like one of the Caribbean's best gospel artists. Cool. Fastest. It's gospel, rap, gospel, but the dude is like incredibly fast and he's awesome. Cool. We did an event in Jamaica. In May, we brought about 300 people down there, and we built a wall around the school, painted a school. We gave out about $4 million in medical services to 6,000 people. Now, you're talking about miles ahead, right? Correct. We did a week of ministry down there, and 6,000 people came through the medical clinics. We had three clinics, and then we had the event, the two-night event, with 75,000 people over those two nights. And Papasan was one of our headliners, and he is just awesome. So he's going to be opening up for third day. So if you ever hear one, I hear some brother from Jamaica who used to be a gangster and he got saved and now he's doing gospel. He's been on Kirk Franklin's album, Tobey Max's album. It's very similar to my story. Is that right, Eddie? I don't think that's similar to your story. It is. You don't count around the drums in your story. Yeah, there's a couple of things there. Shooting yourself in the leg. Eddie once played chicken with a squirrel.
I know that. Yeah, that's true. You did. And I've eaten jerk chicken, too. That's true. So we're real close. You both have that in common. Oh, that's weird. Anyway. Sorry, Miles. Back to you, Miles. I got to say hi to my wife. She's probably going, what are they talking about? Yes. So third day this weekend. You get tickets, by the way, going to milesahead.com. And you can come see me be chicken. I'm going to be chicken. 7 o'clock Saturday. 7 o'clock Saturday. There's an auction beforehand. We've got some sports memorabilia auction. It's a fundraiser, so we're going to be doing some of that beforehand, like 5 o'clock at the church, and it'll be a good time. What do you think of these San Diego Chargers? Don't do that. We're having fun. He played for them. We're having fun. Sorry, Miles. I bet that sounds like fun. No, it's not at all. It's not fun. Miles, I think the problem is head coach. I do.
Well, I mean, I was a big Marty fan. I thought that was a big mistake. And, you know. Look at Miles. Self-editing. Miles is self-editing. You know. You know. But you know a lot of these guys in this team, right? Uh-huh. So it's got to be tough. Uh-huh. It is tough. You know, it's so sad because you look around and you go, okay, that guy's really good. That guy's really good. Yeah. That guy's really good. Yeah. And that guy's really good. Why are we not winning? Yeah. But, you know, it's a couple things. Marty's discipline is definitely a fact. There's no question about it. And in addition to that, you've got Merriman Hurd. You've got Gates. Him and LT, something's wrong with them. And you put all that together, and it's not good. Well, you think that Jamal Williams, though, Miles, he's real good, right? How did Ashley? He's talking a real strong Sunday. Was he not? How did she pull out Jamal Williams? Did somebody just instant message him? Dude, I was watching Sunday, and that Jamal Williams, he's good. He's holding on. He's a load. Let me tell you. He is a load. She makes random observations. Solid performance on Sunday. She noticed Jamal Williams. Stephen Gregory. He's real good. And that's why we love Ashley. Well, we're on the topic. Pat Williams, actually, in the Sunday night football game was solid as well. We get it. She was watching TV. When he was also. The cable clicked in. Ashley the Oracle.
I'm done. Versus, you know, that was a good game. Just be quiet. All right. So, Miles. Yes, sir. You once played for the Chargers. You're now a fan of the Chargers. You know players that are on the Chargers. And you're making the same observations that we are. How do you have all that talent? You don't have anybody winning. What would you do if you were appointed GM of the San Diego Chargers today? What would be your first thing you would do? It has to start at the top. It's coaching. You would change coaching? I would go there. What would you look for? I would go out and get a Bill Cower. Let's do that. Heavy discipline. Heavy discipline. Heavy discipline. You know, Bill Cower, I don't know if Jimmy Johnson would have a coach again. He was a great coach. Discipline. Yeah. You know, detail. Yeah. And because, you know, you got too much talent there. And those guys, they know how to win. They were just like, what, a couple minutes away from the Super Bowl. Mm-hmm.
But it just seems to kind of fell apart. Yeah. Yeah. You know, there's a scientific law. It's called the second law of thermodynamics. I'm going to get scientific on that. Uh-oh. Talk to me. Dropping knowledge. Here it is. Basically, everything in the universe has fallen apart. This building, your hair, your body, everything falls apart over time. Tell me about it. Right? And it takes outside force to organize things. Yeah. And so you have 50-something people, 60 people, who are all making a lot of money. And you need a strong outside force to organize them and focus them. And that's what Marty gave them. Because you have a lot of strong personalities. You have a lot of people. And you've got to put an outside force that's strong to keep it organized or to fall apart. And it's going to happen no matter what. Unless you have somebody strong to say, here's what we're going to do. Here's how we're going to do it. All right. We've done a little charger stuff. But I want to. Talk about what's going on this weekend because this thing is pretty huge. And Miles Ahead is really cool. And what they do. Really briefly, tell us what Miles Ahead is. It's a youth evangelistic organization. We did our first crusade at the sports arena in 1996. It was a free event. Two nights, 19,000 kids came. We had bands and then I spoke. So we've done that in the United States and Canada and Africa and the Caribbean.
And the last year, oh, this May, last May, we added a week-long of service added to the event. So we were there for a week, and we painted a school, an elementary school. Another school, we built a fence around it. People were coming on campus raping girls in the bathroom. They were coming on campus. This was where? In Jamaica. In Jamaica. They came and grabbed the kid out of his classroom and chopped his arm with a machete. No, no, no. So we built a wall around the school so they don't do that anymore. We fixed the bathrooms. They had no plumbing. They flush now. And we're also providing computers. They can, you know, have better learning because they didn't have computers. And we can also communicate with them. Then we had the medical professionals. We had 60 medical professionals go. It was 280 total people that went from San Diego or from the United States. So we provided about, I think it was like $4.5 million in medical services free to these people. We brought in a bunch of stuff. I mean, some of these, they were women and y'all women. No, you cannot get a pap smear and get results in three hours here in the United States. We gave women results in three hours. And two of them had cancer. So we were able to say, go to the doctor now. And one guy had an abscess tooth. He was going to die. His tooth was, pus was going into his throat. It was nasty. They pulled the tooth out. So we had gynecologists. We had pathologists looking at labs. We had dentists, general surgeons, pharmacy.
And all these medical professionals brought all this stuff for free. That's awesome. Then we had the event at the end of the week. And we had people on the streets. We had a deaf team going to a deaf community, ministering to the deaf community there. And then we had the event, the two-night event, where 75,000 people came. It was all day. So they had motocross, jumping up and down, and jungle gyms for little kids. And it was like from 1 in the afternoon all the way up to like 10 at night. So if people get tickets to this show, the money's going to go towards doing more things like that. Correct. Right now we're planning one in Trinidad. We're not 100% it's going to happen next June, but we're planning in Trinidad. But the Caribbean as a whole, they're really big on faith tourism. And what they want is people of faith to come in and do their conferences, do their events in their community because you're not going to hopefully get a lot of people getting drunk and raising a lot of hell up there. We try to help people from hell. Well, we said we have faith tourism on steroids. We're going to come and not only bring a lot of people. And not only spend money, but we're going to invest money in your town. Cool. In your infrastructure. So one of the schools we painted, it was in a real bad neighborhood in Montego Bay. They had a mural of the, I think it was six Jamaican heroes on the side of the building. You know, like 40 feet high faces. And it was old and tattered. But we painted the whole school and refurbished those faces.
And so when we were painting it, people were driving by yelling at us saying, don't take that down. There would have been gunshots. It was that type of neighborhood. But now every day they see it, they see their faces refurbished and they'll remember that we were there. So I love that kind of stuff. Yeah. You know, that was really good stuff. Well, this is a, Miles Ahead, a really good cause. The website is milesahead.com. And if you go to the website, you can not only read about milesahead.com, but you can get tickets for this event. Third day's plan at the Rock Church this weekend, and I'm going to emcee it. And I would love for people to come out and, well, first of all, support this. Second of all, these tickets are a great price, $30 to $50, and all of it goes to miles ahead. And so you've got to check this out, man. It's going to be a really cool time and a very unique experience. We've got to take a quick time out. And we got a lot of stuff left for you. And Miles, did you have yet another story that you were going to tell? Yeah, about the RICO, the Army Reserve that died. Let me tell you that before we go. Tell me that. Well, RICO was, first he started out as a Marine. Then he became a sheriff, worked in a correctional facility. Then he became a cop, SWAT. And then he went into the Army Reserve and got killed in Afghanistan in October.
And the funeral was at the Rock. There was about 1,000 uniformed officers there. Sheriffs, police, SWAT were on the roof. The police chief, the mayor, the sheriff was there. Army general was there. It was one of the most moving things I've ever seen. About 300 cop cars. Really? SWAT hung bees, fire trucks, about 50 motorcycle cops. Wow. And I don't know how long you give me, but I'm telling you, when we walked out of the church after it was over. They had color guards, and they had soldiers guarding the casket the whole three days it was there. And every 15 minutes during the service, they would change the guards. So one, two soldiers would walk up to the soldiers that are standing by the casket, and in slow motion, they would salute each other and then switch the guard. Really? It was awesome. And then when they carried the casket out, about eight of them came down, grabbed the casket, all synchronized, marching. really slow and no one was in the in the sanctuary at this time except me and the pastor another pastor and these eight soldiers they grabbed the casket turned to walk out and a couple of them were crying and they said let's take him home and we walked out of the sanctuary and outside was about 400 cops starting with the police chief and the mayor saluting and walked outside and i'm telling you
The whole time I was thinking, when I die, I want to die like this. Yeah. They took him up to Cabrillo, up at the Point Loma. Right. All the way up. Every street was blocked with a motorcycle cop for the traffic. And they were about, like I said, they were about 300 cop cars. And all along the path were people standing on the side, saluting, putting their hands over their heart. And then they gave his family all these medals and the American flag. He had an 11-year-old daughter. They gave her stuff. It was just. It was really moving how they honored this guy. It was very emotional for all of us. The SWAT were on the roof. But, see, this was their guy. And what I saw there was them honor their own guy. And he's going to go out with class. As a matter of fact, when we walked out of the church, there was a little kid. He must have been five years old standing next to the hearse, you know, saluting. You know, he didn't. It was powerful. It was really powerful. At the time when I talked to you about it, I was very emotional over it. I was real tired at the time. But I probably cried like 10 times that day. Just even driving up to the cemetery. Did you do the service? I did the service. Was it tough to get through? No, the speaking part wasn't tough. It was the before and after. But even going up to the cemetery, seeing people just stand on the side of the road with a hand on their heart. Right.
and just honor him. They didn't know who he was, but he's a guy who did something for us, and we're going to honor him. It actually was on the front page of the paper. We walked out of the church. I never saw so many cops. And then SWAT was on the roof. They were there like two days before. We gave them a room for the base command because they were protecting all those cops, the police chief, the sheriff, the mayor, half the city council, all there. And obviously, and also honoring this guy because he was SWAT as well. Right. But it was a big deal. It was an honor for us to do it. When we designed that building, one of the things we always wanted to do was be a service to the community like that for a fireman or cop that died. So it was a real honor for us to do that. That's awesome, man. Amazing. All right. If people want to buy tickets, third day this weekend, do we have, I think we, between now, we do? Yeah. I can give away some right now? Yeah. All right, I'm going to give away a pair of tickets to see Third Day this weekend, Saturday night. I'm seeing it. So call us right now, 570-1053 if you want to go. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. I'm 37 years old. I'm a Gemini. I shave my head bald. I'm atrocious to look at, and I have a good sense of humor. Eddie. I hate anything that takes effort. Sky. I'm sorry, I talk like a normal human. I'm sorry, I apologize. Opposite. Sean. The sky's right. Eat it. Boston Rob. I got Boston on my mind. And on your throat. That's right. And Ashley. I despise theme parties. They make me really uncomfortable, and I hate them. The Mikey Show's on Rock 105.3. Back, it's the Mikey Show. It is 9.33. The comedy for Christmases was the number one movie over the weekend, making just under $32 million. The Cleveland Browns will likely be without another quarterback for the rest of the year, as Derek Anderson has hurt his knee. All right, folks.
We are going to Las Vegas. Vegas, baby, Vegas. Casino, ever heard of it? Oh, yes. So excited. Dude, we're going there for the finale of The Ultimate Fighter. So awesome. Yeah, it's going to be really cool. Double the best. Yeah. And we would love for you to be able to go with us. The way that you do it is you go to one of... Two beverages and more locations, either La Mesa or Encinitas. And that's where you can put your name in to win this trip. It will include a trip to the fight and airfare accommodations. So really cool, man. Pippet's coming. Really, really cool. Pippet is going. Pippet. That was the thing. I wasn't sure if Pippet was going to make it. And I knew the listeners were on the edge of their seat. So just so you know, Pippet, a.k.a. Merritt. Pippet is Ashley's friend. Her friend. She wanted to go to the front. Ashley didn't want to roll solo. Because I would like somebody to accompany me. Yeah, she wants to have a friend. I mean, it feels nice to have friends. I mean, we're all going. But do you all have significant others? And I don't. Rob and Seth aren't bringing anyone, I don't think. Yeah, but they're each other's significant others. Oh, I see how that works. That is true. That is a valid point. They are life partners. Wow. Oh, it's going to be so much fun.
It's going to be awesome. So if you'd like to go and meet Ashley's friend, Pippet, then why don't you go? It will be awesome. Just go. First of all, if you want, you can just go. Yeah, we're not stopping you. We're not stopping you. We'd love to party with you. Just go, bro. That's right. But if you'd like to win a trip, beverages and more, and just stop in there and you can get qualified at the Encinitas or La Mesa locations. By the way, thank you to Starbucks. They came in and brought some delicious drinks. What are you drinking, Eddie? What is it? What does it taste like? It's that peppermint chocolate one. That's good. Peppermint mocha? Yeah. Oh, yeah. I got the pumpkin one. That's good. While they're doing this thing. Oh, yeah. Calm down. Oh, it's so good to my tongue. Does it taste nice in your belly? Yeah. Warms me up, Mike. That's right. What the heck? It's freezing morning. Well, it's like 70 hours. Okay. Whatever. Listen, it works for him. What do you want? That's right. Theater of the mind. That's right. Oh, this roaring fire in the studio is wonderful. It's nice to cozy up to the hearth. Yes. Today is World AIDS Day, so Starbucks is expanding their commitment to the global fund by contributing five cents for all handcrafted drinks that are sold there. We're talking about espresso.
Frappuccino, their brewed coffee, and this will help save lives in Africa. So, get on it. It's pretty cool. Let's see. Would you like to play a little P1 trivia? Oh, okay. Let's do it. Come on, let's do this. Oh, wow. Yeah. That sounds like fun. Yeah, it does. Did you guys even check out the Beyond Rad picture of my mom on my blog? Are you kidding me? It's so awesome. Come on, wait. Let me check it right now. Because I was teaching her, like, whenever we take pictures, she's always like, you know how to do it. She's like, Sarah, show me how to pose. And I'm like, Mom, you got to put your hip out, and you got to suck your tummy in, and you got to put your hand on your hip, and then you got to pose to the side and kind of cock your head back. Dude, your mom's pretty. That's your mom? Yeah, that's my mom.
And so my mom's like, how do I do it? I put my hand here. Okay. And I put my hip out. That's great. You look just like your mom. That's crazy. And then we posed and then we took the picture. That's hysterical. That's really cute. I've never seen your mom. That's a... Yeah, if you want to see Ashley's mom, go to MikeyShow.com and there's a picture on the blog section of Ashley and her mom. That's great. Dude. Oh, that'll be fun. I had no idea. All right, let's do P1 trivia. Here's how it works. We pit two P1s against each other. Our P1s are our listeners, Mikey Show listeners. And what we do is we give them trivia questions. It works like the dumb chick challenge. So you're trying to get the five points and you have one, two, and three point questions. Ones are easy, threes are hard. And you just call us up. 570-1053 and we will have you go against each other. So very easy. The questions are all Mikey show related. And so if you would like to get in on this, give us a call right now. All you have to do is be eligible to come into the studio on Friday. So you have to be able to come in here on Friday. You will hang out in the radio station in the studio with us. You get a backstage pass. You get catered breakfast.
You get to see the eating habits of Boston Rob in person. He barely opens his mouth. Yeah, that's weird. Barely opens his mouth when he eats. And so you'll get to kind of view that in person. So 570-1053, call us right now if you are able to do this. We very rarely get females. Females are encouraged. It's always guys. That's right. So call us. 570-1053. Get all you womenizers on the phone, huh? I think you misunderstand the whole thing that Brittany's singing about. You're smart. Bruce, let's talk to Bruce. What's up, Bruce? What's going on? Not too much, dude. How long have you been a listener of the Mikey Show?
About two, three years. All right. And how old are you? I am 45. 45. You've been listening two or three years. And let's get your opponent on the line. Let's see. We're still trying to find some. He's got somebody. We got all our phone lines lit up. Where do you live, Bruce? I live in Santee. Right on. I saw Santee. Skye. I saw it. Skye saw it for the first time. She put it in her notes for today. Did you drive through it? Dude, I had no clue where Santee was. Like, I thought you took the eight to get to Santee. Listen to this. This is from Skye's. I have no clue. How long have you lived here? What is it? Four, five years now? This is from Skye's yesterday email. And never been to Santee. That's right. It's very North County. Says, I went to Santee for the first time, had no clue where it was before. I had no clue where it was. My girlfriend, Michelle, her family, you know, owns the Flippies restaurants and they had just opened a Santee location and I wanted to visit her. And so I said, how do you get there? And she says, you take the 52 East. I'm like, are you sure? Like, doesn't the 52 take you to La Jolla? She said, no, East.
And then you go through these beautiful little rolling hills, and it's this jewel hidden in the hills. How about that? It is real nice. Who knew? Yeah, where all the rednecks live. I enjoyed it. I ran into some P1s. It was a lovely occasion. There you go. Santee. Santee. All right. That's delicious. There you go. Did you go to Pinnacle Peak? What? Yeah, I've been there before. Dude, that place is great. Is that where that is? Oh, it's so good. Awesome. Wear a tie. Make sure you wear a tie. Yeah, you got to wear a tie. Sky, wear a tie. Okay. P1 Miss Pink is on the line. Hi, Miss Pink. Hey. How are you? Hi. Yes. I'm very good. Miss Pink, how old are you? Are you a womanizer? I am 23. Yes, are you a womanizer? I hope not. All right. And how long have you been listening? Probably on and off for about three years. Three years. All right, let's do this, Miss Pink. Can I be Miss Black? No, you can't be Miss Black. We got a Miss Black working another job. All right. All right, Miss Pink, you ready to do this? All right, we're going to start with you. What do you want? A one, two, or three-point question? I'll start with a one. A one-point question. Oh, okay. What is Mikey's political affiliation? Which way do I... Democrat? Say again. Democrat? That is incorrect. What? I am not a Democrat. Hold on. I was way off. I am a very conservative Republican. That's what I'll know. Green Party. I am not Green Party. Huh?
I am not independent. I'm Miss Independent. You're socialist. That's right. No, I am definitely a Republican. P1 Bruce. I would like a two, Mikey. Let's do it. Your two-point question is, who has a yoga feature on MikeyShow.com? That would be D-Rob. Oh, yeah. Talk about it, dude. So good. The boo. That's all I have to say. Dude, if you have not seen this, go to MikeyShow.com. It is so funny. It's Boston Rob doing yoga poses. We need some new ones. Yeah, dude. All right, all right, all right. Jane Fonda's got nothing on you, Rob. Oh, yeah, it's great. All right. It's true. And the clothes are fantastic. You have to be the best. You gotta be. P1 Miss Pink. We're able to bend and flex. What would you like? A two-pointer? You want a two-pointer? Mm-hmm. Your two-point question is, what was the last Eddie B. Rob challenge? It wasn't where they were racing, right? I can't tell you. I can't help you. I'm going to guess that because that's the last one that I heard. That is incorrect. Paintball.
They played paintball against each other at Qualcomm. And it was on the news. It was even covered on the news. P1 Bruce, a three-pointer ends it, or you can take it the safe route. Wrap it up, Bruce! Let's do the ski route. Yeah, ski it up. You want a two-pointer? That would be great. Your two-point question is, wow, this is a two-pointer, but to me seems like a three-pointer. This is hard. Uh-oh. What's the forgotten nickname that Boston Rob gave to Ashley that pertains to Mardi Gras? Oh, man. Oh, come on. Easy, dude. Easy. Think Mardi Gras. Yeah. Mardi Gras. It pertains to Mardi Gras. I don't know. Listen, that's a nine-pointer if you ask me. I'm going to give you a different one. Is it Boner? Yeah. It was not Boner. Oh, okay. You would have to actually, I think you might have to have listened more than two years. The answer is Fat Tuesday. He used to call Ashley Fat Tuesday. Oh, man. Mike, you are a jerk for bringing that up. Ashley, I would never bring that up in the past. Isn't that right, Boner? Oh, wow. I'm going to give you a different two-pointer. All righty. Bruce, here's a different two-pointer. What 80s movie do I always reference?
What 80s movie do you always reference? Yes, what 80s movie do I always reference? Oh, come on, memory. Get working. There are P1s screaming in their car right now at this one. Private Benjamin. I know this and I'm thinking about it too much. I'm overthinking it. I would underthink it. I would definitely underthink it. Clear your head and go with your gut. I gotta underthink it. What 80s movie do you always mention? I try to use it as a reference all the time and it irritates everybody. We're doing lists. Every time. And I have drawn a blank. Dude, it's Kramer vs. Kramer. Bruce is Kramer. Well, it's two-nothing, Bruce. I am such a dumb... Okay. It's all right, Bruce. You're still a good man. Miss Pink, what do you want? Let's try two. You want another two-pointer? Your two-point question is, what show member competes in eating challenges? Ashley. That is correct. Yay!
We got a tie game. Awesome. Come on, Bruce. Let's do it. Three-pointer. Three-point question. Attaboy. Your three-point question is, how many siblings does Eddie have? Does Eddie have how many siblings? How many siblings does Eddie have? Don't overthink it, Bruce. Eddie, do not put up the zero sign. Do not hold up the zero sign. Eddie. He has one. That is correct. Very well done. The rule is that if somebody does not get any right, they can't come in. But, Miss Pink, you got one, right? You can come in, too. Hang on the line. Awesome. Hang on the line, you two. Congratulations. Welcome to the studio. Where is there cheaper gas here in Mexico? Where is there cheaper gas here in Mexico? I got to tell you about this when we come back. There is quite a story involved with it. Don't go away. We know what stupid it is. The Mikey Show is on. It's about to get old. I made a sky joke this weekend and it made me laugh. I mean, I'm not even there. Dude, I even, listen, I even said, I go, if she were here right now, she would be saying, I'm not even, we're not even on the air. It made me laugh so hard. Oh, I bet it was hilarious. We went to this coffee place that, you know, does, grinds their own coffee, makes their own coffee and stuff in Big Bear. And they had a note. to the table that said, we do not accept 100s. And I go, what do you use then? Oh, no. I'm glad you amuse yourself. Oh, no. And I go, I say it. I immediately break into laughter on my own. Like, I'm laughing hysterically. And then I go, we're not even on the air. It's fantastic. Okay, we have a lot of stuff. I'm not kidding you. I told you I was going to tell you about this gas deal. Okay, so Sky, is it cheaper to get gas here or Mexico?
Well, this is crazy. So back in the day when, you know, gas was like $4.50 a gallon or whatever the heck we were paying, people were driving to Mexico because gas there was like $2 and change. Well, the gas price in Mexico hasn't really changed. It's about $2.20 for a gallon of regular unleaded in Mexico. Here, now you can get gas for about $1.75 a gallon. So down by the border, you'll see a lot of the taxis from Mexico coming in and filling up. And people are driving. They'll take a trip like once a week, fill up their tank here. No. Yeah. And then now going to Mexico. Isn't that crazy? That is nuts. Yeah. That's crazy. Who knew? Oh, the inside line is ringing. I'll get it. Hello? Wait a second. Hang on a second. You're saying this is. This is... Oh, already. This is Tortilla from Tyrone and Tortilla? Yeah, that same one, man. Whoa! What are you doing? Tortilla, what are you... First of all, where have you been? Well, we got thrown off the air. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why did you get thrown off the air? Because it's at the I Miss Crackers.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Go ahead. And then, orderly, check this out. Tortilla. We made an appearance on the 28-hour show, and Mikey got confused. Hey, Austin. Yeah, yeah. He forgot how controversial we were. Yeah. Oh, no, hey, check this out, man. I've been listening. Yeah. Yes. Why are you guys talking about gas prices? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're back and forth all the time, I think. You do. Yeah, you know, actually. You know what else is cheap up here? What? Over here in San Diego? What, tortilla? Oregon. It sounds illegal. I've got a bunch of kidneys up here. I'm selling them down there for a pretty price. Okay. It's illegal. It's very illegal. It is? Yes. Yes, definitely. Oh, yeah. Yes. I wouldn't do that, Tortilla. Man, I love these prices up here, man. Me and my homie Boston Rob. Yeah. More per siphon than anywhere. I bet you are. Micah uses that premium gas, man. Kind of tingles on the tongue.
Again, illegal. Allegedly, we. Okay. Allegedly. All right. Well, we know the truth. Hey, do you guys want to know what Tyrone is? Where? Where are you? Tyrone. Do you want to know what Tyrone is? Your boy. Oh, yes. You're Tortilla. Yeah, I'm Tortilla. Again. You forgot where Tyrone is? That's interesting. Irony. Where is he? I'm Tortilla. Yeah. Where is he? I'm Tortilla. Yeah. Where is he? I'm Tortilla. Yeah. He's got himself a gas stand. He's got a gas? Like a lemonade stand? Yes. He's a DJ right now. That guy is such a businessman. Really? Entrepreneur. That's unbelievable. He really is. That's nuts. Hey. Yes. Hey. Yes. Check this out, man. He's got a lot to say today. Yeah. Okay. I am proposing a symbiotic relationship between San Diego and Mexico. Really? Yeah. I like that. San Diego for cheap gas, and you guys can come down here for football. Wait. Football is soccer, but, you know, at least we win games. That's not nice, you know. We're going to stop. Don't rub it in. Yeah, baby. Wow. Tortilla. Hey, guess what? What, Tortilla? I've been talking with the executives at MexiCast. Yeah. And we've come up with a new promotion.
Fill up your tank and get a shot of tequila and a free Tweety Bird. A ceramic Tweety? Yeah. What do you think? Okay, I'm sorry. I don't know. When you're in Mexico? Wait up! Hey, the cheap gas is great, but there's only one problem. What is it, Tortilla? How am I supposed to get back across the border after the car tank is full? Wait. All I'm saying is one balloon can hold up. Okay. Okay. That's so disgusting. That's so disgusting. All right. That's Tortilla, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you. Thank you. I don't know if that's your line. All right. I don't know what's weirder that he called it or that I don't know the difference between him. Your official home for Chargers football is... There's a snap. There's a kick. On its way. It is good. San Diego's Rock. Our phone number here is 570-1053.
Bust a move, Mike. That's right. That's what I'm talking about. If you want to, you can call us at 570-1053, and our text number is 35253. Eddie, can you run down some NFL scores for us? Yeah, I sure can. Call you Bust a Move. Oh, I know. Do you care about the Thanksgiving games, too? I actually don't know what the outcome was with either one. Well, there were three. Because, you know, they have the NFL Network game now. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Didn't, like, Arizona play? Yeah, all three were one of the most brutal. All three were brutal games. And, again, I'm on my platform where we need to get rid of Detroit and Dallas as the annual Thanksgiving game. It's awful. Absolutely terrible. Tennessee destroys Detroit 47-10 on Thanksgiving. Dallas destroyed Seattle 34-9. And Philadelphia destroyed Arizona 48-20. So, great football there, guys. Looks like Mike Singletary kept his pants on as San Francisco beat Buffalo 10-3. Baltimore continues to roll as they beat Cincinnati 34-3. Lots of really good games yesterday. So, Eddie, with that Baltimore thing, like that Joe Flacco kid, quarterback, he's good? Apparently. I mean, mostly they're doing it with defense and kind of smoke and mirrors. But, yeah, I mean, he's winning games, and that's all you got to do is manage those football games like Matt Ryan did against us. Yeah.
Indianapolis squeaked that one against Cleveland 10-6. Atlanta got a huge win in their playoff hopes as they beat Green Bay 35-31. That was more than a squeak. Yeah, definitely more than a squeak. Miami beat St. Louis 16-12 in a who cares game. Tampa Bay beat Drew Brees and New Orleans 23-20. The Giants continue to roll as they beat Washington 23-7. Pittsburgh, oh, sorry, Rob. They destroyed New England 33-10 and probably really hurt New England's playoff hopes. Denver did. San Diego didn't help us out at all as they beat the Jets 34-17. Kansas City beat Oakland 20-13. Again, who cares? And in the night game, Minnesota beat Chicago 34-14. There's a game tonight in Jacksonville and Houston. Jacksonville. Another barn burner. Hey, I heard that Houston is playing tonight as the Oilers. Really? Yeah. Oh, I didn't hear that. Yeah. They're going to play as the Oilers. Throwback unis? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's kind of cool. That is kind of cool. I haven't seen it for a while. I miss the Oilers. Rob, do you even remember that? Oh, yeah. The Oilers? Yeah. Baby blue uniforms. With the little oil spout thing, whatever it was, the drilling. Dude, I'm telling you, man. Oil spout. I don't know. What do you call it? What are those called?
Yeah, genius. Their logos used to be so boring. I don't even know what the logo is. I just know it's not an oil spout. Yeah. What, the oilers? It was. It was an oil rig. Funnel, you guys. Yeah, that's what it was. This is from Ashley's yesterday email. She's describing what she's been up to. She says that She went to that charity event that we were talking about a couple of weeks ago, and she got to enjoy food from every place in the country, including Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Central American, from all over the country. What's wrong with that? What's wrong with that? Well, those are countries. Types of foods. That's right. Now, those are their own countries, though. That's the thing. These are not food. These are not foods.
that we came up with, which I can understand the mistake. She went to Chinese food here and she was like, this is really delicious. When did we invent this? You enjoyed food from all over the world. That is correct. She did. Isn't that what I said? Nope. You said that you were enjoying food from all over the country, including Japanese, Chinese. Oh, so crazy. I thought that's what I had to figure out. I didn't admit I'm stumped. I didn't know. What? Did she just say she's stumped? I don't know any of this. She tried duck for the first time. Oh, really? You've never had duck before? Really? Ew. What was that like? You've never had duck? No. What? She said it had a juicy kind of steak type taste. Yeah. It was like chewy. I think it's more like ham. It was good. But for real. I really do. Really? I think it's a lot like ham. She's going to take a bite out of Donald any second. It was good.
Then she says that she hung out with her friend Ben for last Monday. She did a little Monday Night Football with her friend Ben. And she says that she joined in a rock, paper, scissors tournament. Yeah. And she made it to the second round. Oh. And her friend Ben won it. Yeah, he won it. It was huge. He won the whole thing. What did he win on? Do you remember? It was crazy. No, but I just remember it was back and forth, back and forth. How do you do a tournament? You go one at a time. There's brackets. and you go up, and then if you win, you make it to the next bracket, and then once the first bracket goes through, the name... Is it two out of three, or how do you... Yeah, it was best two out of three. Yeah. Eddie, Sky, right now. It's harder than it looks, you guys. Don't overthink it. Don't overthink it. I'll call it. Stand up. There is strategy. There is strategy. I'll say one, two, three. Okay. One, two, three, hit. Sky was paper, Eddie was paper. Sky was paper, Eddie was paper. A fist is a rock. Oh, it's on top, right? Are you going like that? Okay, let's do it again. Eddie won. Eddie won. Oh, nice. Go, Eddie. Come on. One, two, three. Rock. One, two, three. Both scissors. One, two, three. Both paper. One, two, three. You guys got one. Paper covers. One and one. Paper covers Eddie's rock. Don't overthink it. There is a strategy. Here we go. Scissors. One, two, three. Scissors to Eddie's rock. He wins. Yes. But no, it's two, one.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. He won two out of three. That's the three. Here you go. Leg. She made it to the final. She made it to the second round. Can you believe that? That's crazy. What was the prize for this grand tournament? $50 gift certificate to where we were, which was Miller's Field. Listen to Boston. Listen to what Boston Rob was up. Oh, Robert. Up to over the weekend. What did I do? Nothing. I'm just reading what you said you were up to. These are your words. Very defensive. Very defensive already. Allegedly, Mike. He says, I started brewing my own tea. What's wrong with that? Best reaction ever. What? What, you guys? What? They got a small selection at Bonds. Yeah. What do you want me to do? Totally. I don't know why you guys are freaking out I said that. I can't even look at it. So how does this go down? Real easy. Well, right now I'm starting simple. I'm not like growing the grass from my backyard. Not yet. Not yet. Okay. It's kind of lemony. Hey, once I can grow some herbs and spices or whatever you put in tea, rosemary or something. Yeah. So how did you start then? Are you just basically saying you made iced tea out of hot tea? Is this basically what you're telling us? Let me explain it.
You buy, hold on. Hey, hey, calm down. Calm yourself. You buy, yeah, you buy a couple different tea boxes from Vaughn's or whatever because the tea selection sucks. Sorry to say it. I love the place, but. They're iced tea selection. Yeah, yeah, they're iced tea. You really don't have much to work with. So you go into the box tea and. Skye, will you let him finish? No, that's right. That's all I did. No, there's something, I'm telling you, there's something really... I forgot to put it on there that I made my... Hey, hey, there is nothing spectacular here except for the butter I made on Thanksgiving. What kind of butter did you make? Cinnamon honey. I made cinnamon honey butter. And it's real easy. Really? Yeah. What are the ingredients? Same guy that has a cousin named Dirty. Same guy that has Boston tattooed on his throat. On his throat. I made honey butter. I did. And? Sprinkle a little. Well, you get the already mixed cinnamon and sugar. Right. Because I was sick of just. I had ground cinnamon at home. And then you got to steal like the sweet and low from Starbucks. You are no one ate. And that is. You can't take this anymore. That is not that delicious. But hey, just sprinkle it in. You let the butter sit out though. On the table. You got to get a room temperature.
That's fantastic. And then you just sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar and you just stir it together. About a teaspoon of honey. You kind of taste it along the way. I'm going to move on now. Thank you. I can teach you how to brew tea, Eddie. Put water in a jar. Yeah, most of us got that down pretty good. Tea bags. It's in a pan. You have to do it in a pan. I don't have a kettle. What am I, Bill Gates? Did you really boil the water in a pan? Well, I got this new skillet. It's real deep. You are something else to a skillet. Wait, wait, wait. After you put the teabag in there in the skillet and you got it all steeped. Oh, no, no, no. You just get the water. You get a funnel and you pour it into the cup. How did you put it in the cup? Cup? No. I drink it right from the skillet. It's still hot. Oh, my gosh. Oh, that's good tea.
Sarissa. Get down here. This is delicious, babe. No, get down on our floors. Oh, this is great tea. Say Stacy. Oh, man. Tea in a skillet. He is something else. Gosh. Eddie made a great observation. He flew. to and from the Bay Area for Thanksgiving on Southwest Airlines. He says there are basically two types of people in the world. People that think that the Southwest singing flight attendants are cute. Yes. That's Ashley. I love them. And clever. And then there are the people that despise it. No fun. That would be Eddie.
I wanted to tell them to shut up. Who are they doing that for? Did they sing originals? Oh, yeah. They always make up, you know, it's parodies. They make up their own parody songs that are horrendous. And it makes my skin crawl. Is it like we're about to approach takeoff? 100%. Oh, genius. I love it. Oh, man. Horrendous. Ashley's the one laughing and clapping. I complimented my business on my flight home. I'm kidding. I was like, are you the woman? You're very different. When she was giving me my drink, I go, were you the woman that's been on the intercom this whole flight? And she goes, well, she goes, mostly. I go, lady, you're good. You are good.
It's what you do. I love it. Oh, I bet that sounds like fun. She's very modest. A bag of bricks at that. Bag of bricks? I hate it. Oh, you are great. I hate it. I hate it. Oh, I hate it so much. That's fun. They have like whole stand-up routines now. Oh, yeah. It's so clever. They're quick-witted. Do they do pop comedy? Might as well. I wonder if they write their own material because it's so good. Oh, man. I'm going to ask them that next time. I'm driving to Vegas. I think Eddie's right, man. I do not like the singing flight attendants. I just want to go, man. Let's just go. Do your little safety thing and then sit down. Let's just go. Bring me my peanuts and you're done, okay? Job well done. By the way... And pay for the show. By the way... Ashley really missed her dog, Sammy, and has decided that when she goes up to the Bay Area in the future, she's taking Sammy with her. Yeah, we can't. I will pay to see this. Dude, can you imagine? I will pay to see. We can't. I've decided I can't do any more holidays without Sammy. It's just not the same. She's my kid. She needs to be there for that. Who watched Sammy? My friend, Hana. Yeah? Yeah. Did she take good care of her? Yes, she did. But next year, she's got a friend named Hana? Hana.
It's like, we find... Do you guys... Are you guys concerned she's making up imaginary friends? She has to. She has to. Ben? I've known Ben for Fears. Love that guy. Ben, Merit, Hana. You talk about him all the time. Yeah. My friend Goulash and me are going to the movies tomorrow night. Merit, I'm having dinner with her this Thursday. No, you are not. There's no person named Merit. She's in my phone. Wicked. So are you going to drive with Sammy or are you going to? Yeah. So I've decided. Bad idea. I don't want. I miss her too much. No, she's all right in the car. I don't think you can take those across state lines. She's loaded. Let's see. 570-1053 is the phone number. Our text 35253. Apparently, Metallica is considering. Releasing an album on the web. He's 69. Wait a second. I wouldn't hold my breath. I mean, I'd love to put records out more often, but I mean, it doesn't get any easier as you get older. And I don't want to miss my kids growing up. In 10 years from now, when my kids are in college, maybe we'll spit a record out a year.
Right now, I don't know what's going to give in between touring and having some chill time with the family and how long it takes to make these records. Plus, I hate the internet. I thought so. Yeah, it's kind of weird that you say that. Doesn't anybody think it's weird? That I hate the internet, but I'm going to release an album on it. Yes, I do. Do you remember the Napster thing, Lars? Yeah, I hated everybody involved with it. I think it's really weird, Lars, that we play an interview back from you almost every day. Who do you talk to? Who is interviewing you? I do phone interviews with BC every day. Do you really? That's kind of cool. It's pretty cool. Does he not air him? Yeah, he doesn't always air him, but boy, Blunder sends me some bacon every single day. Bacon? I'm surprised he spares it. Wait, Lars. Why is Lars laughing? I don't know. It's kind of rude, Lars. Have you looked into the Sudafed, Lars? You still have the sniffles. What? I mean, how many years? You're a mess. Please. I have to go, you guys.
My wooden shoes are coming out of the oven. Where's he going to release it on the web? Like where? On their website? Well, he's not committing to anything, but he says that now, since they did this last album, they're free of their record contract. Their record contract is up, so he says that, you know, this next record, they could, you know, do whatever they want, and they could make it a total internet thing if they want. So cool. So we'll see. Good luck with that. I love shoes right from the open. Oh, they're all warm. They're done. They're done. You know, Rob's thinking about doing shoe stone, which is like... You bring your own tree in and you wait for them to whittle it. And then you wait for them to put it in the oven. There's nothing wrong with that idea. Now three months later, people have stuff to do 3,000 years later. You bring in your tree seed. Bring in a seed. Bring in an acorn. That's awesome. Sky has a list of Hollywood's top earning couples.
Okay, let's all just chill out. Angelina. They are number five. Brad and Angelina made $34 million. Oh, Mr. and Mrs. Roper. Thank you. Uncle Owen and Amberu. Tom and Katie Holmes. Uncle Jesse and Rebecca. Nicole Kidman, Toby Keith, or no, Keith Urban. Zulu and Jordy. What about me and Phil? They're not even a couple. Oh, you're married now. Porn Soup and Ken. Oh. Oprah and Steadman. Who? Yeah. Oprah and Steadman. I'm on the list. Star Jones and the Devil. It really is. Check the list, though. See if it's on there. No, I don't see it. Oh, the Doubleman twins. Will Smith and his wife.
Jada Pinkett Smith. Number two. They made $85 million. Ellen and Porche de Rossi. I heard that. The Beckhams. Yeah, Ellen and Porche de Rossi. No, but Seth, yes. David and Victoria Beckham, number three, with $58 million last year. David Beckham. Jackson and Jay-Z. Our number one. Number one. Made $162 million. Oh, good. That's a lot. That's a lot of money. The old guys in the Muppets. Yes. Oh, they're the best. Oh, they are the best. One blunder and bacon. Those people alone. So you're just missing number four. They are Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake. They are a musical couple. Oh. They are married. Captain Anthony. Oh. Lance Bass and Richard Simmons. Yes. Wait. No, that's all we got. Hold on. Oh, Mariah Carey and McKinnon. Simon Le Bon and his coffee. Oh, Stefani and Rosdale. I don't know. Yeah, yeah. Stefani and Rosdale aren't on there. That's a great wine, by the way, at Olive Garden. I'll take a glass of the Stefani and Rosdale. Just an order of breadsticks. Just breadsticks. And a tour of Italy. Comes in a box. And a cherry juvie. That's it. That's it.
Okay! I'm watching my figure. And a small chocolate shake. I'm trying to watch my figure. Not a large, small. Get it right. Shut up and listen to my order. I'm just wanting a four nugget thing. I'm trying to watch my calorie intake. Get a six, take two out, and get a four nugget. That's all I want. And I'm going to go with a filet of fish sandwich since that has less calories because it's fish. Good for you. All right. Cherry's Jubilee and that's it. No more after that. That's all I want. Stuffed. Do you need another hint? Baskin and Robbins. So far I've told you they're married. Stop giving us so many hints. Bartles and James. Her husband, Tim McGraw. Smith and Wesson. Yes, Ashley. It's Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. They made $35 million. They're all married. And that is our list. Thank you. Sky also has, now this is real, Dangerous Toy list. Not the band. Fingers Be Gone, Cocker Rockets. Captain Fingers Be Gone. Cocker Rockets. How many times with your Cocker Rockets?
That amazing doorstop. Yes. Is that on there? Very dangerous. You could swallow it. Tacks. Face darts. Knives. Fire. Fire. Give me an example. Oh, Captain Clown's bag over the head. Hi, kids. Let's see. Number 10 is the Go-Go Minis pullback vehicle. Oh, we're not going to know. No, you're not going to know. All right, read them. Checkmate with scissors. Russell Crowe's ring ring phone. Wow. Take a second. So with the Go-Go Minis. Pocket gun. Putter gun. Putter gun. Putter gun. Hello? Hello? Just finish it with that. Just finish with that. Okay, number 10 is the GoGo Minis pullback vehicle. They say the rear tires are removable, which is a choking hazard for children. Really? Yes. Number nine, the extreme spiral copters. Potential for eye injury. Duh. Number eight, this is weird, the sportsman shotgun. Okay. This realistic... That's a real thing.
People give as toys? Well, the description here says this realistic-looking weapon is sold online as a toy for use by children. Ay, ay, ay. Number seven, Spider-Man adjustable toy skates. Let's see. The packaging has numerous warnings, including that the kids should wear helmets, knee pads, wrist guards, all that. But, of course, none of that comes with it. You have to buy that all separately. Number six, the inflatable Gia ball. They say potential for impact and other serious injuries. This is kind of like, I think, what Sean mentioned. Number five, the Meadow Mystery play a sound book with a cuddly poo. But it's Meadow Soprano. That's the weird thing about it. A poo, like Winnie the Pooh, comes with a cloth mask, which removed... Made in Germany. Yes. The manufacturer misunderstood the concept. Children can suffocate. Ted Kennedy Power Wheels, is that on there? Comes with his own cup holder. Okay.
Courtney loves not rock. Yes. Poochie puppies, my own puppy house, golden retriever. The house comes with Michael Jackson's Jesus juice. Yes. It's on sleeping bag. Is that on? This guy will not talk to me. Check the list. Check it. Why isn't she looking? Number three is Walkin' Sound's Digger the Dog. Potential for strangulation. Okay. That's always a good one. Number two, Ninja Battle Gear. Leave the door open. Michelangelo. Every time, really. Let's see. Nunchucks. Other things that can cause injuries. Boss bow. Yeah. And then number one. My little mine. Number one is the Animal Alley purse pet. They say the long fiber-like hair is not adequately rooted. Strawberry short bus. So kids can eat it. There you go. My favorite boa. Have you seen that one?
The holiday shopping is up 7.2% from last year, so booyah. It's crazy. What's up with the, oh, we're not going to have any shopping? Yeah, so they say over the four-day Thanksgiving weekend, the average shopper spent about $372, which is up 7.2% from last year. But I just did see on CNN a second ago that they have finally officially announced that we're in a recession. Oh, good. And we've been in one for about a year, but they're finally willing to come out. And that's the box. All right. So there it is. Sounds like it. And there you go, Obama. Today is Cyber Monday. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. That's where you do the cyber. I have questions. I have questions for people that are in the know. Is anyone in the know? Does anyone know about Cyber Monday? What do you need to know? Kind of. Is it everybody on the web? No. They say about 80% of online retailers. 70 to 80. All right. If you Google it. Lawrence Productions. Are they offering any cyber? Any cyber? Screw you. Lawrence Productions. Question. The VP. Question. Answer. Does Cyber Monday only include free shipping? Is that it? No. No. They do deals. Yes. Some of the deals are free shipping, but some of them are actually, you know, 10, 20% off. Okay.
That's all I have. That's pretty good. And there's a website, CyberMonday.com, where they list a bunch of different deals on different websites. Are you guys going to do it? Yeah, I will. Like a dummy, I did some cyber shopping over the weekend, forgetting that Cyber Monday exists. You dummy? Yeah, you dummy. Are they really good deals, or is this just marketing? No, they've got some good deals. They really are? They are? Yeah, you get like... You know, 20% off stuff or free shipping. I like them. Yeah, they do it. They're doing cool stuff. You know it. They're good. What else? Oh, this was a big story. How about the fact that Obama announced this morning that the new Secretary of State under his regime is going to be Hillrod. Hillrod. Hillary Clinton is going to be the new Secretary of State. Oh, my brother's so happy. Really? Yeah. Why? He was volunteering for her campaign when she was running. There it is. Eddie says sources are saying that Romeo Cornell will need a miracle finish to keep his job. Yeah, Browns. He's the Browns head coach. Okay. And they are doing bad. I didn't even know that was a team. The Browns? The Cleveland Browns. That's just a color, bro. I don't get it. Sky, you didn't know that the Cleveland Browns were a team?
Like when he said the Browns, I'm like, what sport is he talking about? How dare you? She is out of the sports loop, man. Oh, that makes me so mad. Football, eh, whatever. What? Crazy. Yeah, it's real good. And her husband is into it, dude. No, it's fine. It's opposite of boring. My husband watches. If it's boring, my husband watches it. Sky. Now he's watching all this stupid car stuff. All they need to do is he just has to explain the game to you. If you understood it, you'd like it. If Ashley likes it. Because it took me a while to warm up, but then once you start to get to know the players. Fitzgerald. You can Fitzgerald, please. She loves him. Jamal Williams. He's huge. This is the team name she has memorized. Awesome. You are nuts. And then you kind of start to figure out how the game plays, and then you get excited for the plays because you actually know how they work. See, Skye? No, thank you. Try it out. More for you. Shuttle Endeavor had to land at Edwards Air Force Base because of bad weather in Florida.
So, you know, it was what, like a 15-day mission to the International Space Station. Go to Mars. Where they brought exercise equipment, a urine recycling system that turns urine into drinking water. I bet that they already do that. I thought Orange County uses, like, what do they call it? Turd to surf or whatever? Turd to tap. What do they call that? Where the turd meets the turf. Where the surf meets the turf. What is it? Where the turd meets the turf. You're onto something. That's it. That's it. That's it. Take the train. It's the caca faucet. Take a poo. So they were supposed to land in Florida because of the bad weather. They were in Edwards Air Force Base here in California, and so they were warning people. You may hear a sonic boom in Southern California.
What's that face? Nervous. Well, no, it happened already. Oh, no. Yeah, no, it was yesterday. It was yesterday. Oh, man. My eyebrows still? Yes, you still have your eyebrows. Is this really true that Winona Ryder is involved in a jewelry thievery scandal? There is some stuff going on. If you didn't know, Winona Ryder had some issues with Saks Fifth Avenue back in 2001 where she was doing a little sticky finger in. Yeah, if you're just waking up from a coma. You never know. Well, so basically she went to an event in Madrid and was loaned over $100,000 worth of jewels to wear to this event. You know, lots of times they loan celebrity jewelry. That's a bad idea already. Yeah. Well, it went missing. And so she claims that she put the jewelry in the hotel's front desk like safe for safekeeping when she went like out for the day. Yeah. And the hotel's like she never did that. She never left it here. What if they... Scheme. Scheme. Who, the hotel front desk? It could happen. They were like, she's one on a rider. Everybody will think she ripped it off. Well, surveillance video doesn't show her giving them to the front desk. It's a setup. So she's claiming... They changed the tape? Yep. Yeah.
They changed the tape. She's claiming they were stolen. The hotel says, hey, we had nothing to do with this. We never saw it. And so the jewelry maker just wants their money or jewels back. Fine. Yeah. Give them back. Do it, Mike. Eddie. What? You had to choose. Would you rather live in a house made from Legos or live in a house made from mud and palm fronds? Well, thanks to the Genius Bear Grylls, I know I can live comfortably. With mud and palm fronds and not have any kind of leaks or anything like that. So I'm living in the mud. Would you guys rather have snakes crawling across your feet and ankles or feel ants crawling in and out of your nostrils? Snakes a thousand percent. Snakes in the nose doesn't trip you out super bad. Not in the nose. Snakes on the feet. Snakes on the feet. Yeah, yeah, but ants in the nose doesn't freak you out really bad. It does. That's why I'm saying I'm picking the snakes.
Pay attention. I'm sorry. I was just listening to Jeff and Joe. What were we talking about? Okay, now I made this one up. I want to know what you guys think about this. Would you rather have hideous breath? Hideous. Everybody notices you have hideous breath. Or there's just a vague... Did he fart? Just a vague... Like all the time? All the time. So no matter what, when you're around people, You're either going to have hideous breath and everyone knows it when you're in the room or can't quite figure it out. It's not like, whoa, they're here, fart smell. You are 38 years old, bro. And this is what you think about in your free time. It keeps me awake at night. I'll take the fart. You'll take the fart. Because I can always be like, oh, man.
What is that? What is that? And that is hilarious. And you can't do that with a bride. No, no, no, no. All right, ladies, Ashley and Skye, would you rather take... Is this one of your creations? This is my creation. These are the worst. Would you rather take having a light but noticeable mustache? Light but noticeable mustache. Isn't that already the case? Or... A very, or a very prominent unibrow. Well, I mean, there's wax, I mean, what? No, you have to live with it. Either way, you have to live with it. It's not like you can go, I mean, if that were the case. Okay, then I need the description again. A light. A light, but noticeable mustache. Yeah. Very noticeable. Like, when we're talking, I'm like, oh my goodness, she has a mustache. When the light hits it, you're like, oh, yes.
When the light hits it, you're like, oh, my gosh. Oh, there's my housekeeper. You're like, oh, Tom Selleck just walked in the room. Oh, man, Cat Stevens. Hey, how you doing? Oh. So a light, but, oh, wow, she has a mustache. Or a very prominent unibrow. What do you take? I guess it would have to be the mustache because there's a chance, like, in, like, a darker lit area. people wouldn't see it. But with the unibrow, there's no hiding it. My wife said no way in the world would she have a mustache. No way. She said she would take... She would have a fatty unibrow. She hates it. She hated it. She hated it. But she said there's no way she could roll a mustache. I would just hang out in dark places. I couldn't do the unibrow. It just tickled a little. Would you rather be... Would you rather be a rock star, an all-star, or a movie star? Wait. That's a Smash Mouth song, Dave. A rock star, an all-star, meaning sports. Or a movie star. For me, it'd go in this order. All-star, movie star, then rock star. If you had to choose. I'd go movie star, all-star, rock star. I would go movie star, all-star, rock star. Eddie nailed it.
We're all picking Rockstar last? Yeah. That's kind of interesting. Because we've probably met too many of them. You're asking for trouble. Your life is a mess. I'd be dead in like two weeks. Not even. Not even. Later, liver. Unless it was like Rolling Stones. Then I'd be Rolling Stones first because they're like 100 and something, right? No, I think they're like 35. They just look that way. What about you guys? What about Ash and Seth? What's an all-star? Sports, you nerd. Sports? No. Definitely movie star first, then rock star, then all star. I know how we will all answer this, but I still have to ask it. Would you rather make it into the Guinness Book of World Records for surviving the most shark attacks? No. How dare you? How dare you? Or the most lightning strikes? That's fine. I'll take that. Light me up. Yeah, lightning. Think about it, you guys. I'd do that for fun. Yeah. No, not for fun. Yes. Shut up. Would you rather have tufts of hair growing on your tongue? What are you talking about? Is that even possible? Or tufts of hair growing on your nose? No removal possible. Oh, bro. What would be more embarrassing for you? Tufts of hair on your tongue or tufts of hair on your nose? The tongue. You could hide it. No. That's going to impair food. Screw that.
I will not impair food. I will never impair food. I'll impair food. You will? Yeah. Help me lose weight. Pretend that you're single on this next one. You ready? Yeah. Would you rather run out of toilet paper in a public restroom? Mm-hmm. Or while you're at a date's apartment? Oh, public restroom. By far. You know, you could do stuff to figure it out. It's bad stuff, though. It's bad stuff. Horrible stuff. You're walking out shirtless. Well, at least underwearless for sure. One sock. There goes that menu. 570-1053 is our phone number. At the beginning and end of every show, you can call us. It's open phones, so you can call in and talk about anything you want. It's open phone, so it's anything you want. Would you rather have a third eye in the middle of your forehead or an extra hand sticking out of your chest? Third eye for sure. That's awesome. See all kinds of cool stuff. I'd have the extra arm and you just tape it down. I'd grab my own boobs. Hey, ladies. Oh, this one. How about this? Would you rather not be able to shower or bathe for one month?
Or not be able to brush your teeth for six months. Well, Ashley already does the bathing thing. She's good. Definitely the bathing. And the brushing teeth. Like, I brush my teeth three times a day. Like, I would never be able to even go a day without brushing teeth. Skye, would you rather have a blue tongue or a blue finger? Ooh. What the heck? That'd be cool either way. Pretend like you're eating Otter Pops. You're sick. Yeah, tongue. Tongue, right? That'd be cool. Because you could pull it off. You can't pull a blue finger off. There's no way. Would you rather have to wear shoes on the wrong feet or wear glasses that are too strong? I did the first one too on this one. I freaking, growing up, they put the shoes, it felt as though I was wearing shoes on the wrong feet because I was so pigeon-toed that they made special shoes for me when I was a toddler. You were a mess. Do you have pictures of it? I'm sure I do. They were just like, they were just normal looking shoes, but they were like...
You know, when I put them on, they felt like they should be on the other foot. You know, so they could help me not be surprised. 570-1053 is our phone number. I love chocolate. Mikey Show. Hey, they were just talking about running out of toilet paper in a public restroom. I wanted to let them know that happened to me the other day. It did? Yeah. You can't really tell us what you did, but because we're not allowed to say certain stuff on the radio. Right, no, I understand. But I'm going to guess that it was an article of clothing that you had to resort to. No, I used... Tell Zeth off the air and I'll see if I can phrase it. I want to know. I have to know. I can't get through the day if I don't know. Would you improvise or would you scream out for a stranger? Oh, no way would I scream out for a stranger. Never scream out for a stranger. Oh, in the ladies' room I'd be like, is anybody in here? No way. Oh, I would, in a heartbeat. Weirdo. Ashley, you would too? That's not that crazy. Maybe chicks are weird like that. Girls are different, man. I've had that happen where a girl will knock on the stall and be like, hey, can you pass something under the... Are you serious? That's gross.
It's not that big a deal. Girls are like sisters. Guys are not like, you know. Sisters. We're not like sisters. If someone did that, it'd be the most hilarious thing. You would start laughing, right? Oh, I would get rid of every piece of paper in that bathroom. I would light it on fire. I don't know, man. Can't find anything. Let's see. You're like, quit your toe tapping, buddy. Mikey Show. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, Seth, what's up? P121 again. It's Mikey. Oh, what's up, Mikey? What's up, dude? This P121. Hey, I wanted to comment on that, uh, getting stuck in the bathroom. Well, did Seth screen you out? No, I didn't talk to him. Not at all. Okay. I hope, I have my finger on the button if I have to. Okay, I'm gonna be cool, I'm gonna be cool. Go ahead. Hey, I was in the military, in the Marine Corps, and I got trapped in the bathroom. Caught with no, you know. No toilet paper, right? Yeah. And I'm like, oh, man. So I heard somebody come in, not knowing it was my commanding officer. But I was just, y'all now, help. Somebody help, please. Help. Yes. Help me, please. And what did he do? What happened? He took some toilet paper and threw it over there and waited for me to come out. And when I came out, he was like, all in a day is work. That's funny, man. That's embarrassing. Yeah, it was. That's embarrassing. Can we take that call, Zeth? Yeah, he's good. What did you do?
Hey, I had to use the wax toilet covers. The wax toilet covers. That'll work in a pinch. Until nobody was in there, then I had to shuffle to the next stall. Yes, shuffling. The embarrassing shuffle. It's too bad that we're not allowed to talk about all this stuff because we all have great stories, I'm sure. At one time in your life, something embarrassing has happened where you've been in a compromise. Daily basis, man. You're saying this happens to you on a daily basis? Mikey Show, last call. Ladies and gentlemen, we must take our leave of you. Coming up next, the lovely and talented Missy. Today on the Nooner, she's got some double shots. We'll be back here tomorrow morning at 5.30. We'll do this all over again. Mikey Show's out.
