John Moores's apparent Padres fire sale set off an argument over whether his divorce was hollowing out the team, while the hosts also turned In-N-Out shakes and fries into an elaborate food feud. Tiffany DiDonato described gaining 14 inches through bone-lengthening operations, and Mikey and the panel then questioned her credibility because she could not clearly explain insurance and recovery details. Skye recounted waiting hours to interview Tool singer Maynard, only to be restricted to wine questions and met with terse, sarcastic answers, which the hosts blamed on Maynard's hostility rather than her preparation. The show also featured Eddie's brutal Tough Love, Barack Obama and Neil Diamond parodies, a fake-doctor abortion case, old endurance-contest stories, and a bleak Chargers rant capped by a caller who said he crashed while repeatedly dialing in.
What happened, in order
Padres fire sale
Mikey and the crew treated the Khalil Green trade as more evidence that John Moores was gutting the Padres during his divorce, comparing the situation to Major League.
In-N-Out showdown
A birthday-dinner recap became a heated comedy argument over In-N-Out shakes being too thick and oddly flavored and its fries turning into sticks of wood.
Tough Love with Eddie
In Tough Love, Eddie savaged an ousted ska singer, mocked a college student's plan to save a tree, and proposed elaborate revenge for a teenager bullied by his brothers.
Fourteen inches taller
Tiffany DiDonato explained how two bone-lengthening procedures took her from 3 feet 8 inches to 4 feet 10 inches, after which Mikey and the panel questioned gaps in her account of the cost and recovery.
Obama calls in
A Barack Obama impersonator claimed he was proving his normality, proposed selling New Mexico and renting Maine, and invented cabinet posts for Bruce Springsteen and the Olsen twins.
Neil Diamond Christmas
A hostile Neil Diamond impersonation derailed a nostalgic Christmas-album discussion with mangled holiday songs and relentless abuse of his fictional manager Maury.
Skye interviews Maynard
Skye described waiting hours for Tool singer Maynard, being limited at the last second to wine questions, and receiving terse or sarcastic answers while he signed bottles with his back turned.
Contestants who would not quit
The hosts compared a 55-day live-in-a-car contest with their own 76-day roller-coaster ordeal, both of which ended only when the stations paid the remaining contestants to stop.
Fake abortion doctor
Skye reported that a woman operating Southern California clinics admitted practicing medicine without a license after performing illegal abortions that caused severe complications.
Chargers lose the room
Eddie refused to reassure a nervous Chargers fan, argued that the players cared less than their supporters, and joined a mock Norv Turner pep talk portraying the team as completely disengaged.
Caller crashes dialing in
A listener phoned from the freeway after rear-ending someone and said he had been trying roughly a hundred times to reach the show just to tell the cast he loved them.

League three automaker CEOs will be back on Capitol Hill today begging for billions in federal aid to help keep them from going under. Here we go, Padre fans. If there's any of you left, the Padres have agreed to trade shortstop Khalil Green to the St. Louis Cardinals for two players. It's not known yet who they're going to get in return. On their pool holes, I'm sure, right? Yes. I'm sure, right? Absolutely. No doubt about it. Ace pitcher. Yeah. Yeah. kind of scratching my head about is, you know, the one thing that they were trying to do is trade Peavy to the Braves for their shortstop. That was one of their big thing, Escobar, for the Braves. But it doesn't look like Peavy's going to get traded to the Braves now. So now we get rid of Cleo Green and are not having a shortstop come back in return. I'll play. I don't understand why they would make that move. It's a little confusing to me. Do you think that the owner
John Moores, he's just trying to play a practical joke on the city of San Diego. I think he's a big fan of that movie Major League. I'm telling you, dude. It's what it feels like. You know, divorce is bad, and I think that that is playing a huge part in this. I wish that, if that were the truth, I wish that he would just say, hey, listen. hold a press conference, say, hey, listen, I'm divorcing my wife, all right? So no question. See you. I don't understand how Major League Baseball is letting this happen, though. A guy is having a divorce, and so he's basically selling off his entire team so that it's not worth as much, and so that the wife won't get as much. That's crazy to me. Now, we don't know that this is his actual thing, but we do. It's like an observation, right? And it's pretty well known. That's kind of what's going on right now. Just don't want him to sue us and say, well, hey, listen, it's actually, we're doing great. You have to sue a lot of people because that's what people are saying. Allegedly. It's garbage. Allegedly. Allegedly, it certainly looks just like that. It's garbage. It's garbage. Well, let's introduce everybody because there are seven people on the show. That's a lot.
of people, seven of us on the show. The family. That's right. This is a family. It really is. And we enjoyed Thanksgiving together yesterday as a family. We ate each other's food. Did anybody watch that video? I did not. Anybody. Did you? Of course I did. She watches and listens to the show. What do I do when I get home every day? That's right. Pick my favorite podcast and listen to them. Or if there's video, I enjoy that. That's awesome. Oh, it was fantastic. Really? There's three parts. If you get bored at home or whatever, Watch the turkey roulette. It's ridiculous. I love it. Eddie's ridiculous. The faces he's making. How dare you. Oh, it's awesome. No, it's in a good way. How dare you. Sky had quite a face on her, too, when she was trying that turkey sandwich. 570-1053. Call and say hello. Craig Gass coming into town later today. Oh, Gassius. That's right. Gassius. Gassius. Yes. When he fought. When he fought for the Greek army, his name was Gassius. A little gassy. Intimidating. That's right. It really scared people. I'd be scared. That's right. So he'll be coming in tomorrow morning. We'll be doing a little Craig Gas Theater with him because he's the master of pantomime. Awesome. He's an imitator is what they call him. Imitator. Had a little dinner last night at In-N-Out with the wife.
For her birthday dinner. Where she wanted to go. What are you going to do? It's her favorite food is In-N-Out. I got mine with the grilled onions this time. So good. Tasted real good. That was the strawberry milkshake. You know what? I was really asking myself that question as I was driving home with it. Really? And I was saying to myself, this doesn't taste like strawberry. And if... somebody were blindfolded and asked to taste it, they would say, I don't know what that is. Maybe butterscotch, maybe vanilla. I'm glad you're saying this. Thank you. There's a problem with In-N-Out milkshakes. Yeah? What is it? There's a problem with it. Like, I don't know. Oh, no. Sky is making a reference. Sky is making a reference to Eddie's. I'm just basing observations on the data we presented. I thought we were good friends. I thought we were having fun. I was trying to make an observation and then she... I'm sorry, Eddie. I'll let you finish first. And then... That is kind of... Wow. Thank you. Yeah, there's something wrong with the taste. What is it? I don't know. The consistency's weird. It's not like normal ice cream. The schnozberries don't taste like schnozberries. They kind of don't.
You kind of don't. What's the problem? I can't deal with this today. I mean, come on. Hey, dude, do you have the problem, too? You can't really suck the stuff up into the straw, man. There's something wrong with them. You're not supposed to eat it with the straw. Yeah. I don't want to do that. It's a milkshake. It's a milkshake, man. I want to drink it. That is ridiculous. Real ice cream. No. It's thicker. Dude, if I want ice cream, I'll just get it in a cup. But I want a milkshake. You know what you get when you go there. That's true. No, you know what you get. He's kind of right. I want a milkshake. If you don't want that, go to some place where you can drink a drinkable milkshake. You know, they act like they're all, oh, look at us. We're like old school. And then they don't give us regular milkshake. It's a regular milkshake. No, it isn't. It is. Can't suck it through that straw. This is my impression of drinking an In-N-Out milkshake. There's nothing coming out. Nothing's coming out. You burst a blood vessel in your eye. Your eye just popped out. Why is there a big bloodshot vein in your eye? I'll tell you why. I went to In-N-Out. Got a shake. And the taste is wrong, too. Yeah. It's wrong. Dude, it took us 20 minutes to get Rebecca's face out of the cup because she sucked it right into it. She sucked it right into that paper cup, you know? They're dangerous. They're dangerous. Don't even start about the fries.
Stop it. Thank you, man. I agree with you. Thank you. You're healthier. That's not what I want in my french fries. Why are you at In-N-Out if you're eating healthy? Because I prefer anything I eat to be healthier, even if it's a fry. That's what my wife says. Get out of here with that. Get out of here with that. Those fries, you guys, those fries are good. Two seconds out of the heat. And with seven packets of salt. Yes. That's true too. And when you say good, I say acceptable. Yeah. They're serviceable. But if you're taking it home, forget it. Why bother? They turn into little sticks of wood. Freshly peeled potatoes. You guys don't get it. No. Fresh. No. I like my fries with tons of... fattening preservatives that keep them, you know, that delicate balance of crisp yet soft for 40 years. Yes. Thank you, McDonald's. That's right. Thank you, McDonald's. McDonald's is universally the best fries on the planet, right? I mean, they'll kill you, no doubt, but I mean, they taste awesome. But they're the best tasting fry. Yeah. Best tasting fry. That's really all that matters. Yeah. Duh.
I don't need any steak fry. I don't need any big fry. That's not necessary, Rob. You don't need to put the fry in some interesting geometrical shape. I'm good. Keep it simple. Keep it simple. How about those Red Robin fries, though? Nope. Come on. Unnecessary. Those are great. Unnecessary. I do like them. Those are totally unnecessary. I do like them. Yeah. Listen, they're good, but they're not McDonald's fries. But it's different for me. It's different. If it's a sit-down restaurant, I can handle a steak fry. If I'm on the go, I need to be able to eat appropriately. Oh, what do you got? Between hands? Come on, man. It's not about that. Come on. You can do the steak fry on the go. I don't prefer it. Then you do the curly fry on the go? I don't prefer it. I wish that if I'm on the go, if I'm in a restaurant, I would much rather have like the islands fries with some ranch at any place. Wow. But if I'm getting takeout, McDonald's is the only one. For me, I don't even dip.
McDonald's fries and anything. You don't need to. Because they're so delicious. You don't have to. Really? I don't. They're already dipped in oil. They're great. And depending on who's working, tons and tons of salt. Oh, I hope so. And, dude, how awful is it when you get the batch that didn't get salted very good? That's the worst, man. I almost want to throw my food out the window. You should throw it in the person who gave the food to you's face. Oh, no. Why is she doing that? I'll tell you what she's doing. It's like the fifth attack. She's saying it. It's like the fifth attack. She's saying it. Cannot play with him. What? What is the problem today? No one full well. There's no problem. This poor gentleman had food thrown at him. I was attacked. Poor guy was 16. Viciously attacked. Viciously attacked. You've turned into. Let me tell you something. You've turned into a real... She's got her finger up like a black girl. You've turned into a real... Don't you start. I'm doing this with me. 5701053. Do it again, Eddie. Stop it. You know what you are. He'll come in my studio. Just real quick. You know you've turned into a real... It's true. You want Jerry. What's up, dude?
My Border Patrol exam yesterday, man. Oh, yeah. How did it go? Oh, dude. That was such a gnarly. That was the gnarliest interview I've ever been in. What? You mean tough? Was it tough? What's that? Was it tough? It by far. I'm a grown man. I was nervous yesterday. Whoa. And, man, I passed. Yeah. I'm one step closer to being an agent. Dude, congrats. I have a legitimate question. All right. Okay, for you and Eddie. Okay. Now, I happened to go on the P1 website last night and look at some pictures. Oh, no. And I'm just wondering, when you guys lived together and Eddie put the shoe on the door and dropped on your head. Yes. Did it get caught in your hair? Okay. I think it protected him a little bit. That's why Mike had to shave his head was to get that shoe out. Thank goodness I had my hair on. Because if I hadn't had my hair on that night, I may have been given a concussion. I'll tell you what, man. Don't feel bad. I got some pictures out there, too. I'm about the same age, so I know the whole...
Kind of trying to hide the mullet. You know, I didn't think I had one until I looked at my senior pictures. I went, dude, that's a mullet, dude. Oh, my gosh. I know. Be proud of it. I know. I look at the mullet. I look at the, you know, there should be a book written on the history of the mullet. Because when you look at it, you go, it's so feminine yet masculine. It's so wrong yet right. How did it ever really, you look at it, you go, how did that fly, you know? How did that fly? fly. I wish I could grow mine back. Oh, do it. I don't think I can. I got an idea. I think on Saturday night when we go see Third Day, we should all wear mullets. Yeah, well, I'm not gonna do that. You're not gonna go up on stage in a mullet? No, I'm not. That's weird, Mike. You don't get it. You're no fun. No, I'm not. Maybe that's what I'm growing my hair off for. Oh, Rob. That would be awesome. That would be great. Hey, Jerry. Hey, congratulations, bro. I'm glad things went good for you, man. Yeah, for sure. That's Jerry. Good dude. P1 Milkman, what's up? Hey, this is a really sad day. I mean, now we're going to get rid of Khalil Green. We got rid of Mark Loretta years ago. We haven't had a decent shortstop since. You know, we're trying to get rid of Jake Peavy. We just re-signed Khalil Green last season, I believe. They extended his contract.
I mean, I just don't get it. The Padres could have had like an all-star team for years. Yep. Is there any way they can revamp Petco so the Chargers could play there? That's a great idea. Is there any way we can make that happen? That's a great idea. We could. That's the great thing about it because they said, hey, we'll build you this new park and, you know, put the players in to win the World Series. I remember that. Yep. I agree. What happened? Didn't people vote on that? On that argument? Absolutely. Okay. It's crazy. Is there any way we can rally behind this? Because we're going to be back. We might as well just pull in the beavers. Yeah. Hey, dudes. I'm with you, bro. I'm with you. Thanks for the call, dude. Thanks. P1 Milkman. Mikey, P1 Rome here. Rally's Fries are very good. I've heard of that place, Rally's. But do we have them here? Yeah. We do? Yeah. I've never been to one. I drive. I've driven past it. It's a burger and fries joint, right? Yeah. Try it. Mikey, have you ever tried your fries animal styles? People want Bart. Animal styles not on the menu at In-N-Out. I've heard of that. I know you can do the burger animals. They'll do fries too. They'll throw all the junk on top of the fries. That's awesome. Yeah, you know what? When I was in In-N-Out the other day, I saw them putting cheese, like just like a slice of cheese on the fries and then put them in this warmer. Really? I even thought to myself, I didn't know they did cheese fries and I even looked at the menu and
It's not on there. Yeah, they have a lot of secret code there. Yeah. You gotta ask for stuff. I actually don't know what that is. Thank you. Just cheese. Animal style is grilled onions? Yeah, and cheese. Grilled onions and cheese and mustard, I thought. Mustard. It's like a mustard mayo mix or something like that. It's a mustard onion. Or a fried mustard. Yeah. It's a griddled mustard. Yeah, they do something to the mustard. My brother used to work there. Mikey, you're riding a horse full speed. A giraffe is beside you and you're being chased by a lion. What do you do? You get off the merry-go-round because you're drunk. That's P1. Joke it up. Thank you very much. Smells like a horse. Holy cow. I didn't see it coming either. It's one of the best jokes ever. They just come up behind you and they go pow. Yeah, right. Pow. Make them up. Oh. Mikey, did you know that if you look at the bottoms of the cups at In-N-Out, there are Bible verses? That's P1 Trav. Whoa. I didn't know this. Really? Yeah, bottom. Whoa. Oh, mama. Every In-N-Out cup. Oh, mama. They're sneaking it in there. Holy cow. I had no idea. Yeah, they're very... Huh. Yeah. On every cup? Every cup. Even if you get a shake? No, Rob, these shake cups are exempt of... What if you're just getting ice water?
You have to order it Jesus style. P1 Robert would like the Oracle's thoughts on something. Go ahead, Robert. Yeah, I was wondering what Eddie's thoughts were on the Pulver Faber fight coming up on January 25th in San Diego. Dude, how cool is that? MMA. It's going to be phenomenal. However, it's not UFC though, right? It's WEC, which is their sister company. I think it's great, man. I'm excited. The first time they fought was a five-round war. I'm excited just the fact that it's coming here to San Diego. I will absolutely be there front row, man. I'm really excited. Are you going to go, bro? Oh, definitely. Tickets go on sale this morning at 10 o'clock. Right on. Grab them. Right on, dude. Thanks, Robert. We'll see you. 570-1053 is the number. Text number is 35253. And a little bit later on, we're going to be playing Sky's interview of Maynard. I have a lot to say about this. A lot of feelings and thoughts that need to be expressed. Oh, boy. That's not good. I don't even. That's not good. You looked him in the eye, didn't you? That's where you messed up. Oh, man.
Turn to stone. You can see a lot of thoughts happening in Skye's head, man. It was quite a day yesterday. That's not good. That is not good when she says quite a day. It's not? It's not good. Well, we will certainly be finding out. And not only that, we will be hearing audio of Skye's interview with Maynard. What's happening? The lead singer of the band Tool. Did you lay it off like that? Yes, Eddie. No. She just decided to say, yeah, I did. Okay? I did. You got me. You figured me out. Oh, no. Uh-oh. Ridiculous. Sean's friend, Crab Deep, was... Crab Deep. No. He was an Indian fellow that worked at 7-Eleven who Sean C. saw every morning. He fancied him.
Yeah, they're friends. They're good friends. He's gone. He was Cool Deep. Best friend. Cool Deep. Cool Whip. Cool in the gang is gone. Cool in the gang is gone. No! He's gone. And Sean has a new guy that he does not care for. Oh, man. I don't like him at all, man. Is it the banana rapist? Well, the reason she calls him the banana rapist is because there was once a guy that forced Sean to buy a banana. And when I say that, I mean it literally. Yeah. He said, would you like a banana? And Sean said, no, thank you. And he goes, oh, come on, you'll take it. And he rang him up for it. Rang him up for it. And Sean flipped out. Sean got so angry. I wouldn't say I flipped out. I would say I got upset. I got angry. I don't know. What is that? I don't know. I don't know, man. She's on a roll this morning. She's really on a roll. I support it. I'm scared. And so what's wrong with the new guy? I don't like him, Mike. I think he's a liar. That's a strong... Very strong. I think he is a lying, cheating, conniving jerk. Oh, my goodness. But, Sean, isn't he just a 7-Eleven guy? No, no, no, Mike. He's not. In fact, I think they should fire him, to be perfectly honest. Why, Sean? I go in there.
I say good morning to the guy. He looks at me, and he goes, and nods his head. Now, that's a lie from him, I bet. Well, obviously, he doesn't know what I'm saying at all. And I go, how are you doing today? Like, I could say, I am going to murder your family in the night. And he would go, eh. Dude, if you don't know what I'm saying, if you don't understand what I'm saying, don't nod your head and laugh. I don't want it. You don't want to be placated. Just shrug your shoulders and go... Yes. What would be the proper response, Sean? I'd do anything but... I can't stand that. To be perfectly honest, I can't stand that. Yeah. Yeah, what are you going to do about it? Not a thing, Mike. That's what I figured. That's what I figured. What are you going to do? I guess I could go to a different 7-Eleven, but I'll tell you how. He is feigning English. That's what he's doing. But that's not lying. It's lying by omission. What is he supposed to do? It's lying by omission. He's not saying, I do not understand.
He probably can't even speak that. Can't even say that, right? Well, maybe he should make it his business to figure it out. Instead of just going. All right. I get the feeling Sean has strong feelings about it. I'm sure it's the hurt. Well, the loss. There's stages of loss. There is. There's denial, anger, and all that stuff. I don't think it's anything like that. I think it's just a lying, cheating sack of junk. I hope that they figure it out and they terminate it. That's probably why he got hired. Sean's dealing with hurt. You can hear it. Maybe he'll email Moss. Our text number is 35253. A little bit later on, we're going to be doing something called Tough Love with Eddie. I wasn't aware of that. Which, by the way, Eddie, which, by the way, we've discussed how perhaps there are people that are living and working in San Diego and they're P1s, they're listeners of the show, but they actually live and work or they work in Los Angeles. You hear these influences that
Seemed to come from the Mikey show on television. Right. Skye, tell us about the new show that VH1 is going to be doing. Well, VH1 is putting together a new dating reality show for next year for 2009. And it shows this matchmaker guy helping out women who have bad dating habits. And it's called Tough Love. Yeah. So take that. I'm telling you. Yeah, they give these women tough love and get them in shape. You've got to be kidding me. Put them on the market. I'm telling you. Yeah. Hey, we didn't invent the term, but I'll tell you what, it hadn't been there for 100 billion years and now we're using it and there it is. Not in an entertainment form. No. That's crazy. It's interesting. How many times? Wow. Whatever. Are we going to get any royalty checks for this stuff? I certainly hope so. That's all I'm asking. Guns N' Roses and Dr. Pepper, they're really mixing it up. Dude. So we all know that Chinese Democracy, the album, took forever to come out. Dr. Pepper, I guess they were fans of Guns N' Roses and said, hey, if they actually put this album out this year, we'll give everybody a free Dr. Pepper. Well, they did put the album out this year, and so they did something online where you'd get a free coupon to get a free Dr. Pepper. So many people went to the site. It crashed.
Well, then Axl Rose starts talking all the smack, saying he is threatening legal action because it's not fair. And they're writing the coattails of the Guns N' Roses name, blah, blah, blah. So now Dr. Pepper has, you know, has finally, you know, responded to Axl's claims. That Ashley's getting on every last nerve. Oh, I love her. Wait till she turns on you. Oh, she will never. She will. She did yesterday. Are you kidding me? Never have, never will. She's one of those. Let me tell you something. Let me tell you. She's one of those funny little dogs that you see nipping at people. It's hysterical till they nip you. All right? That's right. You got to put them to sleep. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. So what's the latest? So Dr. Pepper just issued a statement saying that they're disappointed that Guns N' Roses and their lawyers are turning this fun giveaway into a legal dispute. All they did was comment on the release of Chinese Democracy and hope that it would be released before the end of the year. They said Axl even had support for this whole thing when it first went down and that they're fans of the band and that's why they were talking about it and that they have already taken steps to make good to all the people who didn't
end up getting the coupon online. Boy, that Axel's something else, right? Oh, he is fired up. Embarrassed. Yeah, he's fired up. Oh, man. And he's got cornrows, too. That was weird. Just to add insult to injury, guy has cornrows, and he's a dude. Chargers are playing the Raiders tonight at the Q. Hey! How about that? All right. And, yeah, the radio station you're listening to right now is the flagship station of the Chargers, where the station carries the games, yeah. Whoa! Our very own Josh Lewin is in town to call it. That's awesome. Call the action. So did you hear that in a couple of cities, they're actually trying out this, like, watching the game in 3D? What? Yeah, dude, I heard about that. What do you mean? They're, you know, like, renting out movie theaters and showing the game on movie theaters. Huh? And they're watching them in 3D. What? But not in San Diego or Oakland. No. Which makes total sense. Like L.A. and Boston. New York, Boston, Seattle. What? Yeah. No one who's actually playing in the game could watch it. And how does it work? Idiot. I have no idea. I have no idea. I just read about it the other day. I'm like, what? Why? They're trying it out for this game. Do you have to put on real dopey glasses? Yeah. You do. How else will it work? It's 2008. That's right. Right? We still have paper glasses. With one green and one red. Yeah.
Those are the best. Didn't know anything about it, but I want to see it. I want to try it. Britney Spears has added San Diego date, so she's going to come play here for those of you that care. So there you go, Ash. Yes! Britney Spears and the Pussycat Dolls. It wasn't on the original itinerary, but now she will be here. She heard me yesterday complaining on the air. Yeah. Clearly. April 20th. Thanks, Britt. Poor Twomp. She will be here. Tickets go on sale December 13th. The cheapest tickets, like about $35 plus service charge. They're offering special two-ticket packages that get you closer to the stage anywhere between $350 and $550. Oh, my gosh. Are you kidding me? And if you want to splurge for the platinum front row seats, that's going to be about $6,000. Come on. Oh, wow. $12,000 for a... two people to go sit in the front row? Me and my wife. I think it's a pair for $6,000. So $3,000 each. You could buy a car. You could listen to her CD in a car for that price. Oh my gosh. Big baller. I have her new single. What's it called? Circus. It's on the wall. It's so good, Mike. No, Rob. No, Rob. This is her newest single.
So good. Title of our CD is out. Do you know who produced the album? Big Names? You can find out. I'm sure it's Big Names. Sounds catchy to me. I got chills. You got chills? I did. I'm so happy that she's back. It really warms my heart. You and our receptions, too. That sounds good. And the video is off the chain, man. Your fiancé, too? She's into it? How old is your fiancé? 27. Yeah, Ashley's 26. 25. 25. So, maybe it's an age thing.
Girls that age really know. I don't see Skye getting chills. Yeah, but Skye's an older woman. No. She's 31. I've followed her career since the beginning. This was New Kids on the Block, you know. What can I say? Sean. I'm Boston Rob. I'm kind of the transient of the bunch. And Ashley. I'm a very loving, nurturing person. On Rock 105.3. Y'all ready to do this? I bought a little Motown Philly. That's pretty nice. I like it. Yeah. It was 641. Lil Wayne and Coldplay led the pack with the most Grammy nominations last night. If this isn't a slap in the face, I don't know what is. Guess what team is said to be interested in signing Trevor Hoffman? Oh, dude, come on, man. I don't want to hear it. The Dodgers. Are you serious? Eddie. Dude. What else could happen to Buddy Ball? Come on. Come on. What'd they say? I mean, uh...
You got to ask yourself, come on, John Morris. Do you have a heart for these fans? It's so brutal. There's got to be a multi-multi-millionaire or billionaire in San Diego. Just offer that guy some money. Yes, please. Isn't there somebody with billions of dollars that just wants to buy this team? But I don't think he wants the money, right? Because if he's going through, he's the one going through the divorce, right? So if he's going through the divorce and he has the liquid cash, then that gets split up in the divorce. He doesn't want it. That's true. Can't they just get the... I have no idea how long divorces take. Depends how cooperative both sides are. Who is this beating, by the way? How do you know it's her? The lady that ruined the... It could be him. Thank you, Mike. It could be both of them. It has to go on him because he's the owner, right? And that's what it all relates back to. It's on him. I want to sit down with this guy. He would even sit down with Trevor Hoffman. He wouldn't take his calls. Yeah. Wouldn't? No, he wouldn't take... But you might try. Well, that's... What if? He's like, Boston Rob from the Mikey Show? Oh, wow. Put him through, Helen. Did he see that I got business cards? Yes.
I have new bookmarks at home. Those have been really awesome, by the way. Those new business cards. Using them as what? They're awesome, dude. It's a great way to use them. And it's also a way for me to know what you do for a living. It's pretty cool. I put a stack underneath one of my chairs. So I should be charging for these things. Absolutely. Okay. Absolutely. 570-1053 is our phone number. We said it earlier. We are going to have on... Tiffany Donato, she is a former dwarf. Former dwarf. Why former? She had surgery that, like, stretched her. It's pretty complicated. Like, I guess they, like, break your bones. Wow. And they like steel rods to hold them together and have them regrow so that you kind of grow longer. That is nuts. She used to be three and a half feet tall, Eddie. Now she is four foot ten. Wow. That's a lot. Wow. Really a lot. Oh my goodness. They say it's a very painful surgery. It's a lengthening of the actual bones. And she is going to come on and talk about it. She gained a total of 14 inches. Whoa. That's a whole rob. Yeah. I'd do it. You would do it? Yeah. But I'd keep going. How tall would you be? I would want to be about 10 feet. You're so dumb. What?
Rob, if you could actually... How are you going to add nine feet to your height? What would be your ideal height? I don't know. 6'8". 6'8"? That'd be 6'. Yeah, I'd play some kind of sport. I would want to be tall enough where it wasn't like 6'2", 6'3". It's like, oh, you could. 6'8", I'm playing something. I would want to be exactly six feet tall. I think that'd be great. Isn't that how tall you are, Eddie? Yeah. My dad is six feet tall. Exactly six feet. But I think six feet's good. Yeah, my dad was... Perfect height. Yeah. Yeah, I mean... 6'4". Really, Eddie? Yeah. You'd be 6'4". Well, then I would have played sports if I was 6'4". Yeah. Thank you, see? Yeah. Like 6'8", dude. I'd be the tallest first baseman for the Red Sox ever. Wait. It'd be awesome. That's stupid. Do chicks have this thought? For chicks, it's all about their boobs.
Girls all say, I wish I was shorter. Really? We want what we don't have. So if you're short, you wish you could be tall and have long legs. And if you're too tall, you wish you could be shorter. Well, Skye, what about height for you? Are you cool with it? Or would you rather be shorter, taller? I'm fine because I'm like average height. I'm perfect. I'm 5'7", so I'm like right in the middle. Oh, I change a lot. And I don't want to lose these. All right. My calling card. Hello. Hello. Listen, when you've already got perfection in a certain area. Yes, when you don't have a rise of action, you walk in and you're like, hey, baby. Table for three. All the old man magnets. Hello. The golden girls. I like to call them. You always want me to can't have.
Just call me lady jugs aplenty. No, don't call me that. Ashley, you would be shorter? Yes. Really? I'm 5'7 1⁄2", and in my experience with my past relationships, most of the guys I date, I'd say half of them were my height, especially if I put on a pair of heels, which are like 3 1⁄2 inches, which would put me at about 6 feet. then I'd be the same height as them, and then that would make me feel like less of a woman. Let me tell you, these ladies that are, you know, 5'8", 5'9", they got to find, yeah, because wearing high heels and all that stuff. You got to find a guy, or, I mean, I know someone who is with someone where the guy is shorter, because she's like 6'1", and he's like 5'11", but it works. He's confident with it, you know? Remember that guy? Hey, I think we have enough. Eddie, would you rather have to live the rest of your life on 12-inch stilts or wearing pink rollerblades? Stilts, man. I would do that for fun. That would be awesome. What if you had to live that way? I'm not rolling around with pink roller skates, first of all. That would be pretty bad. That would be awesome.
Hey, there's the stilt guy. What up? Yeah. Oh, that'd be so cool. Eddie, would you rather have to, for the next year, every single day, and they'll be clean. They'll be clean. But every single day, it's going to be a new pair of tights. Okay? New pair of tights. Or, for the next year, everywhere you go, a very prominent and large pink You must carry it at all times with you. Well, I'm going with the tights because I would be a superhero. Yeah. Or pretend to be at least. You could, yeah. And so, I wouldn't be that crazy. Aren't tights very restricting in the swimsuit area for the men? I'm very confident about that. Yeah, I'm not. I'm not confident about that. About the swimsuit area being restricted. In fact, I think I got to go. What do you mean? I do not want to wear a purse. It's like tight. It's like wearing extremely tight underwear. Like underwear that are too small. What am I going to be doing? It's itchy.
Yeah, isn't it going to kind of, so what you're saying is like, isn't it kind of going to hurt? Yeah. You don't get, like, I mean, you get comfortable tights, I would think. They're not called looses. So Superman is what? Like always picking out? Yeah, like his sperm count is dropping by the moment. Could be. They're not radials. They're made out of material that gives. Okay. Well, first of all, it would really bum me out to have walked into In-N-Out last night with a big pink purse. It would really bum me out. However, I am not confident enough to wear tights if you know what I mean. I'm not confident. Can't do it. Oh, so you're talking about like that's all you're wearing. Like you can't wear them under. Yeah, you wear like, you can't wear, you know, spirit of the question, they have to see your tights. So you're not wearing like a big giant sweatshirt over your tights. I could be like. You're in public. You're in public. You've got to carry a pink purse or you've got to wear tights out in public. I could tell people I'm a pro wrestler and I'm just getting ready to go to the match. But.
What about this part of it? You're only going to tell them you're a pro wrestler when they ask. But for the most part, you're just in the grocery store and people are looking at this dude wearing tights. Heck yeah. Can't do it. The purse would be bad, right? No, I can't. Why? Yeah, never. See, Eddie could pull the tights off. Because he's a big enough guy that people could actually think he may be a wrestler shopping at Vons. Yeah. Or, and he's also confident. If you know what I mean. Okay. Me, on the other hand, I cannot do the tights. Please put your leg down, Eddie. It's distracting. No, you don't sit that way. Dude, I've worked with you now. I've worked with you like 10 years. I've never once seen you sit that way. That you're sitting right now. That's uncomfortable. Fine. Now I can't even sit the way I normally sit. You don't normally sit that way. Oh, man. Rob, what would you do? Would you carry around a purse or would you wear tights? I'd wear the tights. Really? He's trying to put out there. I'm surprised. Well, because Tom Brady walks around with a purse. It's true. He does. He also walks around with a Yankee hat on. It's true. He's an idiot. You would do the tights? Huh? You would do the tights? Yeah. It was like that wrestling suit that we wore for the wrestling challenge. Oh, the singlet? Yeah, yeah. Oh, my Christ.
You're standing in a room and all that's in the room is a table. And on this table are a pair of tights and a pink purse. And you got to leave with one of them. You're taking the tights. Yeah. Do I get to design them? I have a thought. That's what I was wondering. Can you put some rips in it? Rips? I have a thought. People might think that you're carrying that purse for your wife. That's what I was thinking. Right. Right? You know, when you're walking all by yourself down the street. Oh, yeah, that's a problem. Plus, you got to kind of wear it over your shoulder. Plus, what about when you're walking in the mall, dude? The mall. Right, Scott? Oh, I'm just imagining any of us. Me, Eddie, Rob, Seth. There's so many stories behind the tights that you could come up with. But that's only up your ass, bro. Imagine people judging you.
In line at Starbucks. See, I don't mind that. That doesn't bother me. You don't mind being judged? In fact, I think it's kind of funny. Like the stories they would think of me. That doesn't bother me at all. Because they're coming up with their own scenarios. And I'd be like strutting when I'm with me in the tights. Strutting. I'd be so uncomfortable. Enjoy that. All I'm thinking is that everybody is looking at me and judging this guy that is, first of all, weighs too much to be wearing tights. That's number one. Numero uno. Why are you wearing them? Number two. Oh, boy, that's really hard to look at. You know what I mean? Well, you're ridiculous already. You're wearing tights, so just embrace it. You kind of already are, right? 5701053 is our phone number. When we come back, we're going to do something called Tough Love with Eddie. Oh, yeah. Heard of it? Pick that, Hollywood. And so when we come back, That's what we're going to do. Oh, by the way, did you hear about the big three? Talking about the big three automakers. So they're going back to Capitol Hill today, right? Asking for money. And they've reworked some things. And the CEOs are going to tell everybody what their salary cut will be. Because they're willing to take a salary cut. We know the amount, by the way. We know the amount. When I come back, I'll tell you what they're going to lower their salaries to. Next.

They're saving about $2,000 a year, and I've got a lot of violations on my driving record. I just got my license back in January, too. Are people hearing this? Are people hearing this? By the way, I want to give you the AIS website. It's AISinsurance.com. You're listening to the very hilarious Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I don't run anywhere. I saunter. Eddie. I'm clearly the best. Sky. I never, ever spend money. Sean. I am very susceptible to suicide.
Supernatural Phenomenon. Boston Rob. I'm so athletic, man. And Ashley. I do have a lot of best friends, yeah. On Rock 105.3. Zebra print jackets with shoulder pads. Tight. That was the 80s, right? Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It is 702. A Ramona man who killed his wife and buried her in his backyard was convicted yesterday of voluntary manslaughter. A Minnesota judge temporarily blocked the NFL suspensions of Viking stars Kevin and Pat Williams, but the player's status for Sunday's game at Detroit is uncertain. Before we went to break, I told you that when we came back, we were going to be talking about these big three automakers that were going to Capitol Hill today. You know that they went before, and a senator said to them, raise your hand if you did not fly here on a private.
jet. And none of them could raise their hand because they all had flown that way. And then the senator took it a step further. He said, raise your hand if you are willing to forego your private jet and fly home coach. And nobody raised their hand then. And so the overall consensus of that first meeting in front of Congress was, hey guys, why don't you come with a plan? We're going to give you taxpayer money. Maybe you should have a couple things figured out first. Yeah. And so, well, anyway, the big three are going back to Capitol Hill today. And they're going to be asking for money again. And they've decided that they are going to lower their salary. And that's what I said before we went to break. So how much, Skye? All three CEOs say that they will work next year for a salary of $1. A $1 salary.
One dollar salary. They will cancel bonuses. They're offering the government a stake in their companies in exchange for this taxpayer money. And for the record, all three traveled there to D.C. in hybrid vehicles. Ah. Really? Eddie is shaking his head. Yeah, it's like an eight, nine hour drive. Really? Yeah. Transparent. It's the hardest thing they've ever had to do. Well, since you sacrificed. Yeah. Here's a billion. What do you guys think? Will the government go for it and bail these dudes out? Probably. Yeah? Probably. Wouldn't surprise me. Probably going to get a bunch of dough. Yeah. And, you know, it's really no thing for them to have a $1 salary when they're sitting on bank accounts of millions and millions of dollars. Most of them made like $20 million last year. Yeah. And just the interest they're earning on that in their bank account is, you know, plenty. Who can live off that? Oh, yeah. Ten people could probably live off just the interest. So if they give them money, they got to hold them to that dollar thing, though. Right?
Yeah, but it really makes no difference. I mean, they're so rich at this point. Just the principle, though. You should give money. Use your own money. That's a good question. Why didn't they use their own money? Yeah, I'm going to get upset. Yeah, Mike, please. Our text number is 35253. This is an interesting text. It says, Mikey, did no one catch that Ashley said that she's 5'7 and that if she puts on three-inch heels, she's six feet tall? Well, I'm 5'7 and a half. So it's like almost six feet. So if, let's say she was 5'8 and put on three-inch heels, she'd be 5'11. Well, I understand what you're saying. We'll round up here. I figured you'd get the chance. No, I got it. That was P1 Jilly. It was P1 Jilly. Yeah, totally Jilly. I don't know how to ask. You and Jilly are going to be space book friends. I actually don't know what that is. It really stumps me on a daily basis. Hey, Mikey, yesterday in my political science class, my teacher said, the mall. Okay. And seemed to emphasize it. He had to stop class and told me to stop laughing. No. No way. You better have yelled it back at him. I know. You have to. Got him. You have to. Got to do that. Take the risk.
And then what you enjoy is the confusion on people's faces. If anyone asks you, just ask Sky. That's right. It's now time for Tough Love with Eddie. This is a segment where you go to the Mikey Show website, MikeyShow.com. There's an area there where you can click on Tough Love with Eddie and you can write and ask Eddie a question. Are you listening, Hollywood? That's right. They got a new show called Tough Love on VH1 that apparently is a ripoff of this. Can you believe it? Well, I have known Eddie for over 20 years, and what I know of him is that he shoots from the hip. He does not tell you what you want to hear. He tells you what will work. He's a good friend. It's called Tough Love. I shoot from the hip, not into the hip, like Plaxico. That is correct. That is correct. Tough Love is tough love.
Our first letter reads, Eddie, I called the P1 answering machine and sang for you guys and I never heard you play it. Maybe Zeth screamed me out, but it was funny. My girlfriend was even sitting right there when I sang it and she was dying laughing. Hey man, on a serious tip, I was in a band in PB called Madeline's Bad Dream. What? We did kind of a ska reggae vibe and you would like it. I got axed about two months ago because one of the dudes in the band has a friend they wanted to sing instead of me. And they said I had put on too much weight. The band was good, but would you take that dude? What should I do? That's Paul and PB. Eddie? Dear Fat Stevens.
What would I do? Buy a treadmill? Maybe a muzzle? Maybe stop eating. Wait a second, Sky. First of all, Madeline's Bad Dream. It is up to me to judge the single gayest name for a band I have ever heard. I mean, who named it? Sky? Ashley? Wow. Were you MBD for short? I don't know what's worse, the fact that you were the lead singer of Madeline's Bad Dream or the fact that you were the fat lead singer of Madeline's Bad Dream. Hey, you know what makes a great ska reggae band cool? A tubby vocalist. Dude. Why are you in a ska reggae band? It's 2008. What are you, Gwen Stefati? Look, bro, it's time to drop some LBs and get a real job. Now, we know why your girl was laughing, too. She suddenly realized she was dating the former lead singer of Madeline's Bad Dream. The brownie down. Brownies are for skinnies.
Always be eager. Ridiculous. Get out of there! Our next letter reads... Madeline's Bad Dream. Are you serious? Get out of here. What does that mean, Madeline's Bad Dream? I cannot get over that one. Our next letter reads, Dear Eddie... Yes? I am a first-year college student, but still living at home. We have a beautiful old tree in our front yard. For the last couple of years, this wonderful old tree's roots have begun to grow onto the pathway to our front door, basically breaking the brickwork from underneath. Now, my father has hired a crew to come in and cut down this amazing old tree. He's probably been there for more than 50 years, maybe even before the house was there. And now he's going to just chop it down. They're coming on Monday, so I've decided that on Sunday night, I'm going to climb into the tree.
and refuse to come down. I bet we hear about this guy. Eddie, I know you are a great debater of our times and an even better lawyer. Can you give me some arguments to use with my dad? Because I know he's going to go nuts when I get up there on Sunday. Thanks, Oracle. That's P1 Kimberly. Kimberly from Del Mar. Yeah, Kimberly. Eddie? You guys like this one. Dear living on a branch. A little before him, people. Mike, you know, we lost another one to those dope-smoking tree-huggers who want to sit around all day taking long drags on their bongs, dropping Twinkies and lewds.
Complaining about the war in Iraq. Because they hate the troops. They hate America. They spit on the flag. They never take responsibility for things that they've done. Like the economy. Thank you, Bill Clinton. They have completely ruined things and none of them will take responsibility for it. You know, we had a great man in the office. George W. Bush. He was in there fighting the good fight, trying to keep it all together. All they wanted to do was hate on the troops and foreclose on our houses. That's all we wanted to do. You get your wish. Congratulations. Fantastic. Now you've got another misguided kid up in a tree, puffing on the magic dragon, all just waiting to foreclose on her parents. That's right. I hope you're happy. That's your legacy. A young girl foreclosing on her parents. That's not even true. That is your legacy. That's not even true. That's something you just made up. That's what we'll see next to your face in the history books. As far as advice goes, Mike, dick a hole, drop in a seed, and water it every other day. There you go. There it is. That's pretty soon. Good advice. Stick to your plan, girl. Our last letter reads, Dear Eddie. Yeah.
I am the youngest kid out of five. We are all boys except for my sister. My older brothers are always picking on me. I hate it. I'm not very big either. I weigh 145 pounds. I just turned 15 and I'm wondering what I can do to get back at my brothers. I really need help. I'm tired of getting bullied by them. Can you help me out? That's P1 Greg in Poway. Eddie? I feel for you, kid. This sounds rough. You want to get back to your brothers, but you're a little too scrawny. No matter. You can still exact your revenge. First thing you can do, sneak into one of your brother's bedroom at night and pour some water in his bed. Now you got to do this for a week straight. Now the guy's going to think he has a chronic bedwetting problem. I like it.
Now make sure you catch him while he's changing his sheets and ask him what's up. What you do is you kind of pretend to figure it out and then you start calling him Billy Bedwetter. And threaten to tell everyone unless he leaves you alone. That's a classic. For another brother, you can get a bunch of your sister's friends together and wait until he's getting out of the shower. Then you pop open the door at the right time and the girl's reaction will be enough to humiliate him for life. And finally for the third brother, I think I saved the best for last. What you want to do is hide a bunch of gay porno magazines under his bed. And you just kind of leave one of them sticking out a little bit. Then tell your dad about it. When Pops comes in and confronts him about it, make sure you record it and put it on YouTube. I'll probably leave you alone after that. Those are great. Genius. Listen, can you hear her out in the distance? Can you hear her coming up Scripps Ranch Boulevard? It's the sound of healing. You're welcome, Hollywood.

They beat Northern Colorado 73-62 to improve to 6-1 on the season. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. My next guest, this is a very interesting story. My next guest is Tiffany DiDonato. And I hope I am pronouncing that right. Tiffany, am I pronouncing that right? You sure are. Tiffany DiDonato. And Tiffany has a website. And it is Tiffany's hyphen story dot net. And you spell Tiffany T-I-F-F-A-N-I-E-S. And you put a little dash. Story.
Very unusual story. I mean, when I heard about it, I said, whoa, this is a trip. We got to talk to her. She is a former dwarf slash little person. I say former because she has gained 14 inches in height because of some very controversial procedures that you had done. Operations, Tiffany? I had the bone lengthening procedure done. Oh, my. That's crazy. And how old are you, Tiffany? I'm 27 now. Actually, no, wait, I'm 28. I just have a birthday. I have a birthday. Now, for those of us that do not know much about being, you know, dwarfism, little person, is that the proper term? You know, that's something I'm asked all the time. And honestly, the best way that I can answer that is, is you don't even really have to say it. I mean, you get to say Tiffany.
But I think for the sake of argument, yeah, I think little person, dwarf, either one, they're just words. Yeah, I mean, for a situation like this where this entire story and the reason that we're interviewing you is because of that, if somebody is having to reference it, is that the most appropriate thing to say, dwarf or little person? I could say little person. I mean, they're just... I'm not really politically correct. You know, they're just words. They mean the same thing. Right. Okay. Now, you used to be how tall? I used to be 3'8". 3'8". Yeah. That's like doorknob level. Yeah. Wow. Is there a classification? Do you have to fit within a certain guideline in order to be classified as a dwarf? I don't know. I heard through the grapevine somewhere that you have to be below a certain height. to be um a dwarf and i think it's like four below four two okay i think so my doctor would know more about that okay and so um you were three and a half feet tall and you were recently by the way on good morning america and inside edition discussing this yeah uh but how did you learn about the procedure that you eventually had my mom
Actually, she learned about it. It came out when I was 8 years old. It was really radical at that time. It was something like, oh, you're dangerous if you do it. But my mom wanted me to have it when I was 8 for personal reasons so you could reach certain things. So I had 4 inches. I gained 4 inches. But for me, at 8 years old, it was just another surgery because when you do have dwarfism, you do have some bony irregularities. And so you have to go through some surgeries to correct it. So to me, it's just another surgery. Even when I was eight, I noticed a difference. There was a huge difference. I could reach things. You know, even though they were minor, I could still reach. So when I was 15, I was like, okay, I want to do this again. But I don't want to get just four inches. To me, that's kind of pointless. It's like, why not just go to the store and buy a set of heels, you know? So I wanted to kind of push the limit and not put a limit on myself. And I finally, after searching long and hard, I found a doctor that was willing to let me do that and let my body be the judge. And how does the procedure work? They saw, literally saw your bone in half. Oh, what bones? Like the legs? Yeah, your tibias and your tibias.
They literally saw them in half, and then they stretch, and your actual skin is able to stretch? Oh, yeah, your nerves, your skin. I mean, it's over a long period of time, so it does it slowly, but your ligaments, everything stretches. Really? Wow. Are you okay over there? Yeah, yeah. Tripping out. Painful. Tripping out. How does the bone, I don't have any other way to put it, how does the bone find? If it's separated by three to four inches, how does it actually find itself and grow back together? It's crazy looking. I mean, that part is a real trip. You look at x-rays and you can see on both ends of the bone, they look like fingers. And they kind of, they grow together like a ghost. And they just kind of meet up. I mean, it's no different really. I mean, I heard my doctor say that you're tricking your body. So it's no different than let's say you broke something skiing. and you need to heal your body and heal a broken bone. It heals in the same fashion. Tiffany, on your website, do you have before and after pictures? I do. I have before, after, baby, wedding, everything. Okay, I just got to the website. I clicked on the area called pictures. There are four areas, home, about Tiffany, pictures, and contact. If you're on the pictures area, where are the before pictures? Where are the after pictures? Be there. If they're not be there,
I mean, if they're not there, I apologize. Yeah, I just looked at all the pictures, and there's a lot of different pictures there, but they're not specifically labeled like before and after. Okay, I'm going to have to contact somebody to make sure they're up there, definitely. I know the person who manages my MySpace, there should be a link for my MySpace. I know they're up there as well. They're definitely up there. Okay, and where do you find the link to the MySpace? It should be on the right-hand side somewhere or on the bottom. Gotcha. Maybe on the homepage. Yes. Okay. On the very bottom of the homepage, it says Contact Tiffany. There is. There's a MySpace deal. And on the MySpace, you have before and after pictures. I do. In fact, if you scroll down, you'll see during pictures with rods and a picture actually in my life. Yeah. Oh, my God. Yeah, there is. Yep. We see them. Wow. How painful was the recovery? The exercising and the standing and trying to carry on day-to-day activities was pretty much excruciating. You don't really feel the pins in. I mean, yeah, you feel it after surgery, but it's not something that you're really cognizant all the time about. That part doesn't hurt. And again, how old were you when you had this done? Fifteen. I left high school October 30th, 1995. I'll never forget it. Now, did you say that this was your mother's idea?
When I was eight, yeah, it was my mom's idea. But it wasn't until you were 15 years old that it was actually done. No, I had it done at eight, but then when I was 15, I decided on my own to go through it again. To go big. Yeah, wait a minute. Go big or go home. Exactly. At eight years old when you had it done, was there any concern in terms of, well, she's still eight years old, she's still got some growing to do, maybe we should give it time, was there any of that? No. No, no, because my growing was done. With dwarfism, you're pretty much max height, you know? Right. And so at that point, they knew that you had grown as much as you were going to. And you were saying that your mom wanted to do this because it was for practical reasons? Yeah, I mean, it was, well, for personal reasons as well. I mean, you know, so, and I don't know how graphic I can get here, but I mean, you know, just, for example, going to the bathroom, raising toilet tissue, et cetera. Right. And she was thinking about things like that for you. Was she also thinking, hey, I don't want my daughter to go through life with something that maybe people would make fun of or that maybe she would be different, that kind of deal? She was really concerned about the whole what people would think because I always had friends. I've always had white friends. In fact, the only people to give me trouble were teachers. I think she was more concerned with my independence. How would teachers give you a hard time? Oh, my God. You wouldn't even know. No way. Yeah.
One teacher in particular, well, for example, when I was eight, I couldn't push the ladies' room door because I was so little. And then once in the bathroom, I didn't have, like, you know, the, I don't even know what you call it, but to pull it back open to get out. I didn't have the weight behind me, so a teacher had to actually leave with me when I had to use the bathroom, hold the door to make sure I could get out. Right. And she hated doing that. She would slam books down at me. Really? flip out and oh you have to go again. Now mind you I only had to go to bathroom like twice. Right. Something like that. Very sensitive. Yeah. And so you have the surgery when you're eight years old and do you remember there being a you know you were talking a little bit about the pain when you were eight years old. Do you remember that being very intense or in that first surgery or no? Vaguely. I do remember that the stretching was intense. That's kind of something that you never, yeah, you get over it, but you never really forget it. The stretching and the rehab was really, really excruciating. Now, if you're just tuning in, we're talking to Tiffany DeDonato, who was a former dwarf little person. Former. Former because she's gained 14 inches in height due to having two surgeries to stretch her body, where they actually...
saw the bone in half, stretch her, and let the bone grow back. At 4'10", I'm guessing you still would appear to be a little bit short, but certainly not a dwarf, not a little person. Right. When you walk, is there a certain gait to your walk, or can people tell that you, you know, do you walk differently? No, I mean, certainly I'm not an NBA player. You know, I am still saying. But I am still learning how to walk. I do have a cane. It's a long, arduous process. How long is that process from when they actually sawed your bones in half until you can, like, walk without anything assisting you? I can walk now without anything assisting me, but I do get tired. So it's been like 10 years since your surgery? Yeah. Normally, what I've heard tossed around in the hospital is it normally takes the time. that it took you to go through surgery doubled for you to be completely, you know, ready to go. So what is that timeline? Oh, God, I'm not good at math. Let's see, I was done when I was 18, 28 now, so it's like 4'8", so maybe I'm behind by two years. Wow. What about your arms? My arms are proportionate.
Everything is proportionate, and that was one thing. When I was going through the surgery and I decided to stop, I wasn't going for it to be a 5'10 model. I just wanted to be proportionate, and I wanted to do everything that, even the little things that so many people take for granted. Do you think twice when you go to get your mail out of your mailbox, do you even think about, oh, it's a wonderful thing to do? Not many people do. They're just kind of like, oh, I've got to get the mail. I love it, and that's something that I wanted to do, and I fought so hard to be able to do that. Why are you telling this story? You know, certainly you've been on Good Morning America, Inside Edition. You're on the Mikey Show. Why are you doing interviews? I want to inspire people. I want to, you know, encourage everyone to, number one, never settle.
Number two, nothing in this world is worth it without struggle and sacrifice. And I really, in my heart, believe that there are other little people or dwarves out there that want an alternative to, you know, what they've been told to just, you know, stay the way you are. And there is an alternative. And I kind of feel like I'm a lone voice for that. Did insurance pay for this for you, Tiffany? I think so. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Oh, man, that's a good, you know, that's a question. I think you would know. That sounds like, you know, extremely. Yeah, I mean, we didn't go broke, so I'm assuming that they did pay for it. I mean, again, when I was 15, I really wasn't concerned how it was going to get paid for. Has anyone asked you that question besides me? Yeah, yeah. I've been asked that, and the answer is the same. I'm not really sure. I think so, and I believe my mom said, yeah, they paid for it. And so you are... Part of you being an advocate for it is, I'm guessing, telling other dwarves or little people to do this. I think they should. And I'm going to get so much hate mail for saying that. Why? Because they, I mean, I've already received a lot. Because a lot of the, I want to say old school dwarves maybe, they believe that you're going against God or your natural state or advocating something that's, you know, too radical and too risky.
I don't accept myself for the way I am. And I've even been called an ELP, an ELP. I'm an extended little person. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I have no idea. I mean, somebody thought long and hard for that acronym. Right? Oh, gosh. I'd like to meet you. I'd like to see you. I'd like to meet you, too. We should go to Starbucks. Yeah, let's go to Starbucks. I'm looking at the pictures online, and I would like, you know. I don't know. There's something kind of hitting me I'm not really sure about, too. What do you mean? Her not knowing some of the stuff. Tiffany, it just strikes me as odd that you don't know the answer to that thing about the insurance and some of that stuff. It hits me strangely. I'm sorry. No, no, no. It's okay. I'm just being honest. That's my whole thing on the air is just telling people how I really feel. There's an element of the interview where I'm suspicious. Yeah. And I don't know why. I didn't go into it being suspicious. I started the interview. You're suspicious about who paid for it? Oh, no, no, no, no. I'm suspicious about everything, I think. I don't know. Are you actually did it or not? I don't know. You know, honestly, I don't know. I don't know. That's as honest as an answer as I can give you. Well, your answer is making me suspicious. Tell me. Talk to me. Talk to me. What don't you know? I mean, if you want, I can give you my mom's number. She's a nurse, and you can ask her more medical things. My whole thing is...
I've been asked a lot of medical questions, and I don't want to give the wrong answer. I mean, I'm not a doctor. I mean, I've been asked, like, oh, what's the difference between diastrophic dysplasia and acharnia dysplasia? Dude, I don't really know. Hey, Tiffany, honestly, I... The things that you just said right now, those two terms that you just gave out seem like very complicated things, and I see where you're coming from on that one. But the question about, hey, does insurance pay for this, especially being an advocate for it, you're kind of telling other people. Or how long does it take for you to recover? Yeah, I don't remember. Well, no, I think it's independent for the person. How long did it take you to recover? How long did it take you to recover? I'm still recovering. I'm still doing exercises. I'm still doing rehab. On the individual. My goodness. Okay, so that means that you have been recovering for 13 years. Pretty much, yeah. My goodness. Okay, and do you still experience pain? I experience some pain, but it's not because of the bone lengthening procedure. It's because of dwarfism in and of itself. When you have dwarfism, you are susceptible to having arthritis, tight joints, etc. Right.
Depending on that person, on the individual that has dwarfism and how they handle pain, they're going to recover in a different time span. Sure, statistically, they say, okay, the amount of time that it took you to go through surgery doubled. Well, that's nice to say statistically, but everybody's different. You know, I wanted to go to college. I went to college. I wanted to graduate high school, and I made it in time to graduate. So certainly that kind of delayed my healing process a little bit. But having dwarfism, it's the nature of the beast to sit, you know, to exercise every day. So to ask me, are you still recovering? Well, yeah, I have to exercise every day. And that's just going to be the story of my life. But that is not, you're saying that that's not necessarily related to the surgeries that you've had. Right. It's just a product of dwarfism in general. Right. Gotcha. All right. Listen. I'm not sure what I think. I think I've got to take a little time with it. I think it's going to take, you know, I'm just being completely honest, you know. I mean, I think it's a fascinating story. Thank you. And certainly controversial, and it's up to the listener to decide whether or not you think that it's totally cool. I mean, certainly her decision, you know what I mean? And, you know, if it brought her joy and if it makes her everyday life easier, then, you know, more power to you.
Thank you. Well, there it is. Tiffany DeDonato, thank you for coming on the Mikey Show. I appreciate it. Thank you for having me. We should go out for coffee. If you're ever in San Diego, we'll go out for some Starbucks. Okay, sounds good. All right, thanks, Tiffany. Thank you. We'll see you. That's true. It is. Wow. You know, I was just trying to get, and I'm being serious. I'll have to take a day and just kind of like, I may even have to listen to it again. I'm podcasting. I'll tell you what, she needs to, if she's going to be doing interviews of this type, she needs to be more informed of her own stuff. Because that does make people go, that's a little weird. You don't know this, you don't know that. You lived it. And you're calling in to kind of talk about it. You should know that stuff. Am I the only guy that's interviewed her that said, you don't... Yeah. Right? You don't know if insurance paid for that? No, she said she was asked that before, and then she referenced the doctor question about, well, they asked me about this bone and that, and I'm not. But, you know, when I have something done, when I had my teeth pulled, I know exactly what I'm paying. But you weren't 15. She said her parents took care of it, which I get that. No, no, no, totally. I would totally get that. At 15, I wouldn't know.
At 28 doing interviews, I would know. And if you've already asked, I would look into it after. Yeah, because, I mean, if your whole thing, like, Ashley, let's just say that, for instance, your whole deal is that you believe everybody should drive a Honda, okay? A green Honda. A green Honda that's going to save the environment. And you do an interview and somebody says, hey, how much do those things cost? I don't know. I'm not a salesperson. You know, I don't really get into that. Your whole thing is these cars. Okay, well, how much did you pay for it? I didn't pay for it. I know she didn't, but she's been interviewed, man. That, honestly, is the question that came to my mind was, man, I wonder if insurance will pay for this or if this is like a $100,000. Especially if she's telling other people that it's okay to go out and get this done. Like, shouldn't she know that if her insurance or look into your insurance or you're going to have to pay out of pocket or real, you know, like if you're promoting something, you got it. It's interesting. But I'll tell you what I went from kind of early on in the interview thinking there was actually it actually occurred to me. I wonder if this is for real, if she really did do this. And then through talking to her, I kind of got because there was one point I was I was thinking to myself.
Is she just short and like maybe got in a ski accident and there's pictures of her ski accident, you know, recovery. And I was like, no, because that's crazy. That can't be it. That's crazy. And then I was like, OK, well, and the only reason I was thinking that is because she didn't know the stuff. That was really interesting. So what do you suspect? Like, what are you seeing? That's what I said, man. Like, honestly, I need to like process. Because now that you said that, because this whole time I've been like, you guys are crazy. I thought that was great. She seems so sweet. But then as you've been just talking. I do too, by the way. But then as you were just talking, I was thinking about it, Mike. And I'm like. One of the first questions you asked her, which was such a simple, common question, I would think for someone like her who was a former dwarf, you're like, would you prefer to be called a dwarf or a little person? And she couldn't even give you a straight answer with that question. You know? Yeah. Well, this is the thing that made the bells and whistles go off for me. Went to the website. Yeah. And clicked on pictures. Yeah. And Eddie, can I say what you said? Yeah. Eddie said, before we...
Went on the air before we interviewed her. Eddie goes, hey, man. He goes, just a heads up. He goes, I checked the website. He said, she doesn't look like a dwarf. And I said, what do you mean? He said, just look at the pictures. And I don't mean any offense by that. But I mean, I think that little people have a look about them. And she looked like you and me. You know, like it was. And there were like Sky said, there was no before and after pictures, which I was kind of looking for. I thought that was a little strange. She's obviously really short. They have pictures of her standing next to her dude and stuff. I don't know. I also tripped out when she was talking about her arms. She was saying she wanted her legs to be in proportion to her arms. But I thought dwarfism, like all your features were... That's kind of what I mean. Did you look at her stuff on MySpace? Yeah. The MySpace thing, there was a... So you can see her arms on my space. She's definitely a dwarf. Little person, whatever. Yeah, like as I'm looking at the pictures with her with the crutches, right? Yeah. No doubt about it. I guess... It's just weird. Something was going off in my head and I don't know what it is. She was ill-prepared. We're used to people being very prepared. I agree. Man, this is interesting.

The Mikey Show. It is 7.57. Okay, ladies. Now it's going to be all right. Britney Spears has just added a San Diego date to her 2009 tour schedule. Why do you keep talking just to the ladies? You think a lot of dudes want to go see Britney Spears? Maybe. I don't feel like it's fair that you're excluding us. Yeah. I'm not. My brother used to be a huge fan. Well, he used to be. I mean, I understand in his defense, he's straight now, so that's the deal. We've got more details coming out about the Plaxico-Burris shooting. Looks like linebacker Antonio Pierce called a New York Giants trainer almost immediately after Burris shot himself and was told where to take him. Antonio Pierce is going to have to testify in front of a grand jury. Wow. I would not want to testify in front of a grand jury. That's getting bad. Yeah, that sounds very scary. That sounds very scary. Eddie was starting to get the run around going. That's right. Let's see. All right, we got a few things here. I'm still, during that break, all we were doing was talking about that interview. That was so weird. Let's see. Mikey.
What is the name of the stuff that you guys gave Jake when he was teething and where can I get it? That's P1 Eric. Eric, it was called Highlands. And my brother told me about it. Highlands is good. They sell it at CBS or any drugstore. It's a great magazine. Is it? I think you're thinking of Highlands. Yeah, I think you're thinking of Highlands. In the dentist office. You still have a subscription. Highlands are a little white. They're little white, teeny tiny little tablets. And you give them the kid. And when they're teething, now the bottle says to give them three. And my wife adheres to that. And so she gives them three. I know this other lady. She says. Other lady? Yes, front of ours. And she says, yes, three didn't do a thing.
So she gave him four, but hey, listen. Is this other lady named Mike Esparza? Yes. I was picking up on that. But no, do what it says. You can also try a little thing called Jack Daniels. My mom did. Yeah, it's not kidding. That's what they used to do, yeah. Back in the day. Yeah, I became an alcoholic. Yeah, exactly. Jack Daniels and a smoke. Ah, yes, it worked. But you stopped teething. Yes, I did. I did. It stopped hurting. So, lots of things going on. Did you hear that Obama named Bill Richardson... No. ...the governor of... New Mexico. My nana's so happy. Is she? Well, because he's Hispanic. So, you know, obviously it was the best thing ever. How is he Hispanic? He looks Hispanic, but his name is Richardson. Yeah. That is the weirdest thing ever. He is Hispanic. Is he really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a prominent Hispanic politician. Maybe he took his wife's name. Maybe he was originally, you know, Humberto, whatever. Humberto.
And now he's taken, you know, on this. But, yeah. That would be ridiculous, though. It would. Stop it. It would. Why would a guy take on his wife's name? Insane. I mean, yeah. It should be outlawed. It should be. Yeah. It should be a bill passed in Congress about it. Yeah. I like that. Skye likes the idea. She thinks it's very forward thinking. Yeah. Right, Skye? Yes. But more importantly, I like what Barack Obama's doing. That's a subject change. Look over here. I ignore what you said, and that's my point. Yeah, I like what he's doing. He has a nice, diverse cabinet, well-qualified people, women, different races. I like what's going on. A bunch of losers. Well, he's the only winner, so either he does everything himself. Sky, so what you like about them is that they are both men and women and of different races. Well, obviously, number one, I like that they're all qualified. According to who? Their records. Really? Yeah, what they've done for the country and their states and their political service. I don't know any of that stuff. I don't either, but it sounds good, Mike. But I think it's great. It's representation of what America is today. We're different genders, different races.
That's right. I like it. It's about time. Oh, whoa. The phone is ringing. Hello? Hey, guys. It's Barack Obama. Wait a second. President-elect Barack Obama? That's right. This is an exclusive. This is a shock. Well, I enjoy listening to the podcast. I enjoy listening to you online. Really? I would not have known that. Michelle, she just tickled me. We're just like normal people. Yeah. And before I called, she tickled me. I don't know why. Like, literally? Yeah, because we're normal. We're just like everyone else. That's how you show that you're normal? That she tickled you? Right before I picked up the telephone, she tickled me. Okay. Okay, Brock. How'd you get this number? That's kind of weird. What is the president? The president-elect. Okay. I mean, you can get any number you want. All right. Okay. I actually got the number from Tom Arnold.
Why would Tom Arnold have it? We were at an AA meeting together. Okay. That's his A. That's his bit. You want to know what's great about being just like everyone else? What's that? Being able to pass gas in the tub. I'm sorry. Is something I try to do. You should have said that before the election. Oh, yeah. I want to make one thing. Perfectly clear. Okay, what's that? It doesn't matter who the new governor of New Mexico is. I've decided to sell New Mexico back to Mexico. Wait. Well, we do need the money. For a fee, yes, we're going to take that money, and that's how we're going to fund my health care plan. Okay, well, that's not acceptable. I kind of like it. Really? I don't know anyone in New Mexico. Yeah, I'm good. That's not right. I'm actually thinking about renting out Maine to Canada. Oh, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Let's not do that. Just renting. Well, eventually we'll get it back. It's like a summer home? Yeah. Well, I'll take the rent money and build that hoop I want to build in the White House. We don't need Barack. Any takers on Montana, by the way. No. I'll pass. It's like an auction. Yes. My wife, Michelle, just put a piece of toast in the toaster because we're just like normal people. We get it. We get it. It's cute.
We are in the middle of very hard economic times. That's true. We all know that. And because Bill Richardson is Mexican, I'm going to make sure that he is by my side and make sure there's a tamale in every pot. Okay. It's not the same. I mean, it's kind of offensive, but... Who am I kidding? Is it too late to drop out of this thing? Wow. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. You got it. I'm going to go ahead and drop out and yield to a better person, Hillary Clinton. Please don't do that. The better man? Yes, we can. She's a woman. She's a woman, actually. Please don't do that. Not according to the Wall Street Journal. She is a man. What? You may be right on that. Speaking of the Wall Street Journal, you know, Michelle and I read that because we're just like... Just like everybody else. Just like everybody else. How many times do we get it? We read the Wall Street Journal. That's a good point. Well, we were reading it, and there was this... Little article here saying that the economy is in the worst crisis to happen to us since the Great Depression. And it also says here that according to People Magazine, Hillary is the worst crisis to happen to fashion since Liberace. Did I mention that I...
I considered appointing the Olsen twins joint secretaries at Doritos and cigarettes. Joint chiefs of smokes. Well, listen, I, uh, I'm going to have to get going here in just a second. Cause I'm a normal, just a normal guy, just a normal person, but, uh, just wanted to, uh, thank me for calling. Wait. That doesn't make any sense. It doesn't. I wanted to let you know I'm considering hiring the boss. And you know who I'm talking about, don't you? Bruce Springsteen. I am talking about Bruce Springsteen. He's going to be my secretary of rock. Okay. I don't think that position exists. I actually love Bruce Springsteen. I'm just like everyone else. Nobody likes Bruce Springsteen. I don't care for him. I believe that each part of my life reflects a Bruce song. Like, what do you mean? Really? Right after I won the election, I felt like those were my glory days. Okay. Listen to that song on repeat. Well, that's kind of stupid. When people were doubting me during the election, I look at that part of my life as the song Born in the USA. Sure. Mostly because that's what I had to.
I have to keep telling them. I'm really long at this point. And then, of course, there's Born to Run. That's just a great song. Could have made sense if we were running for the election. Well, I'm thrilled that we have appointed this New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson as Secretary of Commerce for several reasons, one of which is that he is from New Mexico. But his name also sounds white and I'm black and so there you go. Ultimate trifecta. We'll see you now. I'm just like a regular person. I hang up the phone. He's just like a regular person. He certainly does. 570-1053 is our phone number and our text number. 35253. Full show podcast. MikeyShow.com. You get the whole thing now. by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. I still have heavy rides on some of our freeways here this morning. The South 15 still pretty backed up off the 78 down to Via Rancho Parkway and then watch for a slowdown coming down towards Mercy Road from an earlier accident involving a big rig there. The Westbound 56, that's still slow and going as you come in towards Rancho Santa Fe Farms and then from there it's pretty solid all the way to 5 now. Heading on that 5 southbound, that's pretty tough struggling from Poinsettia Lane in Carlsbad for a slow ride all the way to Salana Beach. The East County Community is not too bad. It's looking good. Just a brief delay past the queue. The 94 King Freeway, though, westbound, that's pretty jammed up from Euclid all the way to downtown. And things are breaking up out of the south, being this 805 northbound. Just a brief slowdown at Home Avenue. Very tough, though, out of Kearney. Makes it for a slow ride over the 52 towards Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. I'm Rick Lawrence at Rock 105.3. Ah, yeah. San Diego's Rock. The Mikey Show continues. Featuring Mikey. I'm very attracted to intelligent women. Eddie. I was talking to P1 Danny the other day, and he goes...

Did your families have specific Christmas albums they listened to every year when you were a kid? If so, What was it? And how did you feel about it? And how do you feel about said album now? I'm a little bit different in this regard. He also says, my family listened to Kenny Rogers Christmas. So did mine. So did my mom. Yeah. That's funny. It's wonderful. It's wonderful. Easy six pack. Says, my family listened to Kenny Rogers Christmas album every year, and it might be the best thing ever done by humans.
Although my favorite Christmas song is not from that album. Someday at Christmas by Stevie Wonder is The Bee's Knees. One last note, Santa Claus is Coming to Town is the greatest Christmas movie ever. Eddie, you are insane about that thing, man. It's only the greatest Christmas movie of all time. Ridiculous. He loses his mind when that topic comes up. He loses his mind. He was just acting that out like, oh my gosh. It's the best Christmas movie of all time. Let me tell you something. Eddie almost chopped Skye's head off the other day for calling it, what did you call it? Creepy animation. It's wrong on two folds. It's not creepy, first of all. And it is not animation. It is claymation. Which makes it even prettier. You don't get it. Sorry that you were locked in a box for your childhood. It was a couch. Yes.
This is from the album the guy was just talking about. Kenny Rogers Christmas. Oh, wow. Listen to you, Silver Fox. Yeah, my mom listened to this. Your mom listened to this, Eddie? My mom loved Kenny Rogers. That's good. That's good. I don't care what anyone says. That's good. Here's the thing. I was going to say it's different. I think that I have a different answer for this than most people. I think a lot of people say that they didn't like it when they were a kid, but now that they're older, they like it. I liked it when I was a kid. I did too. I can remember being in that room, you know, that room, that add-on that they built. Yeah. And putting the tree up and listening to this music, you know, the Christmas albums and loving it. Kenny's got a great voice. Got a great voice, man. Love it.
I think we would play the Elvis Christmas album, too, which I love. See, I was not exposed to Elvis at all. I was. We would play the Neil Diamond one, and it was my favorite. I don't know that I ever heard of it. Neil Diamond's got Christmas? So good. Yeah, that sounds delicious. One of my faves growing up. Let's see. You're one of my faves. That's why I'm such a huge fan of Neil Diamond. I am too, kid. Now you guys know. Was there a Nat King Cole Christmas album? Of course. Yeah, because he's the best. Nat King Cole is the absolute best. Oh, so good. Oh, this is so good. It's overly dramatic. I love it already. Oh, yeah. You know he recorded this with a cape on. Oh, come, oh, call me, man. It's a Jewish guy singing Christmas songs. There's nothing better than that. I'd like to sing you a little song I wrote called I'm a Jew for Christmas. Now, I think you're going to like this one. Let me pull up a... Sounds catchy. I think it is. Maury.
Oh, no. Oh, no. Not Maury. Uh-oh. Not Maury. Where's my guitar? Maury, you fat... Oh, no. Don't take it out on him. Don't be mean to him. For goodness sake, Eddie, didn't do anything. Look at him over there in the corner on his Blackberry. Get off of that, you tubby little manager. He'd do something one day in your life. Leave him alone. He's trying. He's trying. By pretending he can't hear me. Well, he's not a spring chicken anymore, Neil. Plus, you've abused him for years. He's managing the wig store. I mean, give him a break. He's got a terrible haircut. Look at the hair. Oh, look, Maury. Is that a wig? Oh, Maury. Very nice. My goodness, Maury. I couldn't tell. 34 years together. Oh, wow. That's nice. Oh, look. At my manager. That's not how this goes. He's a super fat manager. Not nice, Neil. I think he's embezzled from me, haven't you? Okay, that's not... You can't just accuse me. This was originally a Christmas song. Oh, yes, Tom.
I eventually turned it into an anthem, but it was originally a Christmas song and it went something like this. This part is the build. Hey, Maury, bring me some sparkling water. You're very specific. For those of you knuckle-dragging apes, that's tonic water. You know what? Let's get this thing going. We've been traveling far with squeaker farts. And they sound like this. What's the problem? We're talking about your Christmas album. Where are you? Fine, I'll do the Christmas album. Okay. Would you like me to? Yes, we would. All right, let's do one for my Christmas album. All right. That doesn't sound like a Christmas song. Originally was, Eddie. Originally a Christmas song. How do you figure? You got to listen to the words. All right.
Oh, come, all ye dreidels, and sit here with Sal, my accountant. Oh, come, all ye dreidels, oh, come to town. All of my favorites. This is ridiculous. Neil, will you please? Don't distract me. Sorry. That was inches from my face. Oh, my God. Neil. Neil. Would you like me to do that acapella? No. No more. You're ruining the season. You're crazy. Yeah, he's the alcoholic over there that's in some program. Oh, wow.
That's not right. Some anonymous pro... Oh, fine, Maury. You don't do... Holy cow. I just gained five pounds looking at him. Oh, you're terrible. He has anger issues. He'll have some issues. Frosty the snowman was a drug-addicted dude. No, no, Neil. Kids love Frosty. That is not right. Don't say that. And I think he for... I forgot the words. Wait a second here. It's been a while since you sang this one. I think he scored from a smack head and did it to Drummer Boy. No. Drummer Boy doesn't sell crack. Oh, man. Why don't you give me some chestnuts? I'm trying to get in the screw. Chestnuts? What are you going to do with that? You do the chestnuts, you roast them. Yeah. And then you start singing. You ready for this? I'm ready.
And a one, and a two, and a one, two, three, and jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell crack. I think it's jingle bell rock. That's weird. That's one for the high school kids. They can understand that. Come on, Neil. I'm not liking this Christmas album at all. TRL addicted morons. That shit got canceled. Maury, have some self-respect. He's eating. ketchup right out of the packets over there. You don't feed them anymore. I can actually hear you getting fatter. Okay. That's mean. That's insulting. Rudolph the Red News Addict. He had a very shiny Coke. Okay, wait. That's enough. And if you ever saw it, you would even swear he went down to El Cajon and got himself a whole big old crack man down there. That is not how the song goes, Neil Diamond. You're making children cry. You are a bad person. Stop it. Sometimes you have to represent life as it is, Skye. What? That's not how it is. Oh, here we go. Eddie. No. This was originally a Christmas song. Yes, it was. Look at it snow. Oh. Oh, can't you smell the turkey? I'm not even a guy that celebrates Christmas. Give me a second here. I'll work it out. Give me some wine. That...
Broad from cheetahs. And I will show you something you ain't gonna get on cable access. I love Christmas. You don't. Wait, this is the bill, didn't it? Reaching eye. Touching me. Perform anymore? Fine. I don't have to do anything. Dashing through the streets, looking for some blow. Running over kids and stealing from my folks. That is brutal. That is brutal. Why don't y'all grow up? You're acting like children. Christmas is a time where you reflect and have to think about real life. Talk to me, Sky. Right?
Well, yeah, but you're not doing that, Neil. This one's going out to sky. No, I don't. I don't think so. That'll be good. Oh, thank you, Neil. You got to read between the lines on this one. You ready? Yes! Hammy, ham, ham, ham. You get me ham and I'll ham. Really? Okay. Get ready for ham. That's great. And we will ham. Ham is just the beginning. You got the ham in your ham and I feel my ham. That's the first song I've liked. Ham? Ham it now. Ham it now. This is the Mikey Show. A guy just got out of the place. You'd think you'd be a little nicer to him. Start calling him Tuberville. He's working on it. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. Eddie, where is Trevor Hoffman?
to maybe be going. Oh, well, to the land of milk and honey, Mike. What? Where's that? The Dodgers are said to be interested in signing Trevor Hoffman. Wouldn't that be awesome? Awesome. That's terrible. You know what? It's like the Padres are his ex-girlfriend and he's going to find the one dude that you don't want your ex-girlfriend going out with and go out with them. Dude, it's it. He's jilted. It's it. It's the one that you're just like, anybody but this. The guy you hate the most. She's going to go out with that guy. It's awful. Really? It's terrible. Dude. Sky Maynard. What's happening? Sky did her first interview ever yesterday.
and the circumstances surrounding it just couldn't have been more perfect. This can't be good. Sky is a big fan of the lead singer of Tool Maynard. Big fan. Well, big fan of his music. Tool, Perfect Circle, huge fan. But to be honest, you know, Maynard, you don't get to know much about Maynard, you know, and that's just kind of the way it is. He's not very, he's not one of these guys that you see a lot. I have no idea what Maynard looks like. Yeah, he never does interviews. He rarely, rarely ever takes pictures. Jeez, you're not social, buddy. Come on. What's going on? You need a hug? So what's the deal? What's the deal with this guy? Well, you mean like what happened yesterday? Yeah. Okay. Well, first of all, I'm nervous enough as it is because I'm used to doing things with you guys as a team. And so to do something by myself freaks me out. I feel so uncomfortable as it is. Even though you know you like them and you know that people will love them too, you're still uncomfortable? Oh, I see what you just did there. What happened? That was not even subtle at all.
Can I just shut your mouth? How about that? How about if you don't shut your mouth? That should make you more comfortable. Yeah. If you like them, they'll love them. Okay. Anyway. What happened? Oh, come on. I've heard you say it before. I don't know why now it's such a surprise. No, Sean has never heard anyone say anything of the sort. So anyway, I'm very nervous going into this whole thing. And but OK, I'm just going to do my best. I'm just going to go into it and I'm just going to try and be conversational and chill and just have a nice talk with the guy. And, you know, hopefully it'll be cool and people will enjoy to enjoy hearing it. And are you did they give you any ground rules? Like, can you talk about tool or. There were no ground rules, but I did know going into it that, you know, what he wants to promote is his wine. So, you know, I've heard Mikey do a million interviews. So I figure, oh, we'll have a couple questions about the wine. We'll get that out of the way. And then we'll jump into a whole bunch of like music stuff. Okay. They didn't tell you. They didn't have any rules.
No. Okay. No. Shawna wanted to videotape it. And they said, no, Maynard's not comfortable with videoing it. So to me, that was the only thing we were told that wasn't allowed. So they didn't tell you, don't ask about this or don't ask about that or anything like that? Not going into it, no. But I did know that the focus was the wine. That's what he was there for. But obviously, he's got a lot of other stuff going on. So the plan is... You meet with Maynard because it was a Whole Foods wine signing starting at 4.30. So my appointment with Maynard was at 4 o'clock at the Whole Foods. So you know me. I'm all about like promptness, and that's really important to me. So I actually get there at like 3.30. Because I know there's hundreds of people waiting to get in to meet Maynard. I want to be. In whatever room I need to be, I want the recorder set up, and I want to be ready to go the second he gets there so I can have as much time as possible with this interview. You're smart. So I get there at 3.30. I go in. I meet with the people. His people. Yeah, Whole Foods, and then also the person who's in charge of doing his security. Not his personal security guard. He comes later in the story. But the guy who's in charge of the overall security there. Okay.
They're aware that I'm coming. They're aware that I have an interview scheduled for 4 o'clock. And, you know, they're, oh, you're a little bit early, so just hang here. Hang tight and wait. And as soon as he comes, we'll come get you right here and we'll go. Right. Okay, cool. So 4 o'clock, 4.05, 4.10, 4.15, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Maynard's still not even in the building. Yeah. The wine signing is supposed to start at 4.30. My scheduled interview time is 4 o'clock. Right. 4.35. Maynard's still not there. Maynard rolls in at about 4.40. And I mean, and these people like there were people who had been waiting out there since like 10 o'clock in the morning. Right. So so I'm like torn because I want to get my interview. But at the same time, I feel bad for these people who've been standing out there forever thinking that 430 is when this show is going to get on the road. So Maynard gets there like around 440. They come up to me and they say, OK, he just got here and he wants to get straight into the wine signing.
So can you hang tight for about another hour? No. Oh, no. Okay. I will hang tight for an hour. So they say Maynard's going to take a break about an hour into the wine signing, and we'll take you up to the green room where he'll be hanging out, and you can have, you know, your interview then. Right. Okay, cool. You know, not ideal, not whatever, but okay. You know, that'll work. Right. So I'm thinking that like this is like a scheduled break that he has. Like maybe they sign for an hour, take like a 15-minute break. You know, this is the way I'm interpreting it. So I wait. So they're supposed to come get me at 530. I'm in the spot. They're supposed to get me at 530, 545, 55, around 6 o'clock.
Maynard's personal head of security, and I even, me and my husband recognize this guy, because last time we went to the last Tool concert, like, this is the guy who's standing in between the stage and the barrier, like, telling people with cell phones and getting people kicked out and whatever. So this is Maynard's, like, personal security dude that goes, like, everywhere with him. So he comes, grabs me, and it's myself, my husband, and Jenny from Promotions, who's running the audio equipment and has cameras and stuff. And so he goes, OK, who's doing the interview? I'm like, me. OK, do you need these other people with you? Because I want as few people as possible going up there. And I was like, well, you know, I guess my husband doesn't need to come. But, you know, Jenny, she's the one running the machine. Take us as we're walking up to the. quote-unquote green room, he informs me, okay, just want to let you know, this is not a scheduled break. We're taking this break specifically to accommodate your interview. And so there's hundreds of people still waiting outside. So, you know, can you please make it quick? And Maynard will only be talking about wine. So, you know, don't ask him questions about anything else because he's only going to be talking about wine.
Okay. So now there is ground rules. Yeah, right. It's like seconds before you're about to do it, they lay that on you? Oh, like literally I'm like walking in the room while he's like telling me this. You didn't say, well, if you guys would have been on time. Yeah, I didn't want to even go there. I was intimidated by the whole situation as it was. I don't like confrontation. So I was just like. You know, when you're going to interview somebody and they give you a directive like that. At the last minute, it's the worst because you're prepared and that throws all of your preparation off. Well, and in my mind, it's like, great. You know, people are interested that Maynard has this wine out and that's cool and all. But really, people want to hear him talk about his music and what's going on. Sky, honestly, it doesn't matter of opinion. I don't think anybody's interested in wine. I think he's doing wine, so they're buying the wine. You know, like if I started doing beanies, if I started getting into beanies, people go, oh, it's Mikey. Okay, fine. I like Mikey. He's selling a beanie. I'll buy the beanie. And, you know, because there's a line of people out there. They're all out there because they like the music of the band Tool. Yeah, it's not this.
This wine. Delicious wine. Yeah. A peanut noir. A peanut noir. A peanut noir. Who brought wine? So, you know, the security guy, you know, lets us in the room. We get in the room, and it looks like it's basically the employee break room of Whole Foods where they've set up, like, some folding tables in there. It had to be, right? And the first thing I notice when we get in there is this squeaking. And they go, oh, sorry about the squeaking. Somebody's up on the roof. Right. Somebody's up on the roof. Like the roof right above us. Somebody is up there walking. So it's making all this like squeaking noise. What are they doing up there? I think they have a parking lot up there and they have like storage freezers and stuff like that. Oh, wow. So really great for an interview where there's all this like squeaking and distraction. And then, you know, it's Maynard in the room and his business partner in the wine, Eric. And as I walk in, there's like two tables. One's like an empty table and one has like hundreds of wine bottles on it. And they're like, OK, you know, we need to get all of these signs. So while you're asking the questions, we're just going to be signing the bottles. But to grab the bottles off one table and put it on the other, they need to keep turning their back to me.
So they're not even like looking at you sitting there. Well, they're definitely not making eye contact. And when they are answering the questions, half the time their back is to us. So you'll hear like sometimes the audio will be good and sometimes it won't because they're turning their back to the recorder. No way, Jose. Is there any sort of like, hey, sorry about this. Sorry, you know, but was it like that at all? I think, I don't know if it was him or his business partner who said, oh, sorry, you know, you had to wait. But that was like about it. Oh, man. And no apology about, hey, sorry we can't interview you and, like, you know, give you a proper interview and pay attention to you. No, nothing really like that. Can't do it. So we set the recorder up and we start. I'm here with Maynard and Eric. Okay. Can you not already, please? Like, I didn't go through enough. I mean, the first thing is. I mean, the very first. I'm here. Well, I'm a little thrown off. I'm not going to lie. This is going to be... Listen. I don't know that we're going to get through this. It's your first interview. I don't know that we're going to get through it. It's Sky's first interview. It's an awkward situation. It's an awkward situation made more awkward. By me. By the whole thing. Start it from the top, Mike. I know you'll like them. I love them. Hello, USA. Come in on. Hello. Check. One. Yes.
Yeah, hello, hello, yes. Maynard, if you could give me a test with a sibilance, please. Maynard, could you give me a one, two, three? A one, two, three. Jenny, a little bit more treble on mine. Money, money, money. Yes, Jenny, could you give me a little bit more mids here? Mid, mid, mid. Does this help? Mid, mid, mid. Lion face, lemon face. All right, we're ready. Yes, one, two, and Mark. Hello. Hello, my name is Skye. Can you please just get on with it? All right, Manit, here we go in a three, two, one, mark. My name is Skye. What's happening? All right, let's check this out. Let's check this out. I'm here with Maynard and Eric. We're here at Whole Foods because that's where you guys sell your wine, and it's squeaky. What are we going to do? We're going to make the best of it. Listen to all this noise. Yeah, so you'll hear the squeaking, and then you'll also hear the thud every time they sign a bottle and move it to the next table. Oh, my. So that's why you keep hearing the thuds. Right? There's something going on on the roof. Right? Who's that? Is that Maynard? That's Maynard. Maynard, he's a soft talker. Oh, great. So he's a soft talker and half the time has his back turned toward me. But he was the guy that just said, hey, there's something going on on the roof. That was him. Yeah.
Somebody up there, ninjas, breaking in. Okay, so first, Maynard, how did you get into wine? Have you always been into wine? How did this all start? Natural progression of, you know, music to wine. Yeah, and something, and people in the room will understand this. Interviewing Maynard is like interviewing an engineer. He is the king of one word answers. He like, you know, he. Well, see, the thing is, it's real clear. He doesn't like doing public stuff. Yeah. So why do it? Why put yourself out there with your wine? Yeah. Right. Or if you're going to sell the wine, you know. Francis Coppola, he didn't go to Whole Foods. He just has wine. If you don't like it, bro, don't do it. You know what I mean? I just love the uncomfortableness in the room. I wish I was there. I was coming out of my skin. Well, you couldn't have been there, Rob, because they limited the amount of people in the room. We could have done a dual interview and I could have went, you've been robbed. Okay. Not appropriate. All right, let's listen. Access to better cuisine, access to nice wines as you start to discover the nuances.
Start pursuing it. So it just kind of became a little interest, a little hobby of yours. And then how'd you hook up with Eric? Because Eric, you're like kind of a big wine guy. I mean, you know what you're doing. You're legit, right? Scott, you're doing great, by the way. I mean, you are. Thank you. You're sounding good. Thank you. You're sounding good. Yeah, I wouldn't call myself a big wine guy, but yeah, I've been making wine for about 12 years. Well, then you're a big wine guy. Yeah. I mean, come on. You're the wine guy. Honestly, it sounds so... oppositional yeah combative combative we don't want to talk to you and i was nothing but pleasant like i mean i could have immediately you know been like oh i've been waiting for hours or oh this is horrible to do an interview in here like i mentioned none of it i just went in there with a oh hi nice to meet you thank you so much for doing this attitude i was actually helping another guy start up a small winery in arizona called echo canyon okay and Maynard lived in the area, and he dropped in one day, and we kind of hit it off, and we've been working together ever since. Yeah, so your winery is in Arizona. Okay, I'm going to say it. I'm ignorant about wine. I know nothing about wine, but I am originally from Northern California, and so to me, like the climate of Arizona and the soil, that's conducive to making wine? Well, you really have to understand that Arizona isn't just Phoenix, that it's really diverse geographically.
Well, first of all, plebeian. Yeah, well, what I found interesting is that, you know, I was told only to ask wine questions. But anytime there was a wine question, Maynard would look at his wine guy, who unfortunately nobody cares about, as for him to answer. It's so true. You know what I mean? It's like, why didn't I just interview the wine guy? And with elevation, you know, we're growing up around 4,000 feet. Oh, that's the wine guy talking to you? For instance, our climate's actually quite a bit cooler than Casa Robles, which, of course, is a pretty notable wine region here in California. We combat cold more often than we do hot, and we have great soils. The state is very diverse from the perspective of geology and landscape. So, yeah, I think you could probably find a microclimate... You know, for every grape on the planet somewhere in Arizona. You've heard of Death Valley, right? Yeah, yeah, of course. Right. Very, very true. But I wouldn't expect them to grow. Death Valley's hot. Well, see, and that's what I just was about to say. Well, yeah. They're not growing any wine there. That's what I'm saying. They don't grow wine in Death Valley. Right. Yeah, who knew? Good point. Yeah. You didn't say anything. No. Yeah, I'm glad you brought Death Valley up because they don't grow a lot of wine there.
Maynard, how involved are you in actually, like, the day-to-day process of winemaking? As much as I can be. Yeah. How involved, Maynard, I have a question. How involved are you in this interview? Not at all. Thank you. That's so weird. What did he wear? He was dressed nice. He had, you know, nice jeans on, you know, dressy jeans and a nice, like, what's the color? Like a raspberry color button-up shirt. You know, he's dressed nice. You know, obviously those things probably cost a little bit of money he was wearing. Like a button-up shirt? Like a... Like a very fashionable kind of button-up shirt. Yeah. I mean, so do you, like, are we talking weekly you're doing, you're going in? Are you, like, tasting the wine? I don't know how it works. If it's harvest season, then I'm, you know, as much as I can be in there. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Yeah. I'm sorry. You know, I'm running out of wine questions for you guys, so can you maybe work with me here? Right.
Every question is answered irritated. I don't know when it's harvest season. What do you want from me? With these questions, your wine questions. Do you not know when wine is harvested? I mean, what's the matter with you? Why are we even talking to us? Maynard, what kind of grapes? helped you write... Sangiovasi. You don't know that? Hello. Syrah and Sangiovasi. How do you not know that? Ladies. Have you never been a vintner? Yeah. Process the grapes? Uh-huh. I mean, winemaking is very punctuated and it's very seasonal. And certainly during... That's when the wine guy jumps in. Wine guy jumps in. A lot. Yeah. But I thought you weren't the wine guy. Yes. Yeah, no. Why do you know everything? Harvest and blending a lot of the key times he's around to help. Oh, okay. Well, that's cool. Right now there's probably some racking going on, some testing of the wine going on, but we're here doing this. Yeah, very cool. Huh? What did he say? He was trying to make the point that I'm there when I can be there. So right now at the winery, there's probably stuff going on, but they're in Hillcrest doing this right now. What a jackal answer.
I was at your last wine signing and, you know, waited in line and bought me some bottles, which was awesome. I'm wondering, what is the difference between, obviously taste, but what's the difference between, like, a $25 bottle and a $100 bottle? What makes up that difference? $75. I would have gotten up at that point. You know what? Thank you, guys. Thank you very much for your time. It's clearly pissing you off. The next question, why do you hate me? I wish I had the balls. I wish I did. I mean, because it's clear you do. Did I do something to you? Just out of curiosity. Genius. I love it. I'm placating at this point. I'm totally placating. Like, oh, you're so funny. I'm trying. You are. I'm trying. Yeah, you are.
So is it like the type of grape? Is it the way? Dude, if you hadn't continued to ask him, he was content to say $75 in your face. Usually you'll make a jackass answer and then give the real answer on him, though. No. As long as it sits. Availability, microclimate, specifics of how it's been, you know, how much hands-on process has been going on, supply and demand. Yeah. A lot of it has to do with calling the best of the best out of the larger batches. And then, you know, for instance, Vayner's Caduceus wines are the best. How's that? The Caduceus wine. All right. You don't know what that means. Sorry, I apologize. Those are his $100 bottles. We select, for instance, the Sensei. We select the best batches just for that. And if they're not good enough, the Sensei doesn't get made. Sensei hasn't been made since 2005. My Sensei told me to switch away. Mine told me wax on, wax off. Manny, do you listen to Stink Fist while you're stomping those grapes, or what? It gets to the point where I finally just start with music questions. You do? Oh, yeah. Good for you. Good for you. I'll agree that it makes the cut, and thus it garners the price it gets. Oh, okay. No, this may be stupid, but, you know, there's this video on YouTube that's, like, huge, and this news chick, and she goes to a wine-stomping event, and she, like, falls over and fails. I love it.
I love it. I love it. I love it, Scott. I love it. Well, I mean, how many other wine questions can you ask? She's done. She's all done. Have you ever seen this video before, Maynard? And if so, what do you think about it involving wine? Has that ever happened to you? Yes. That's basically my question. Yeah. You're like, uh, you spell wine backwards. It's kind of hilarious. Does anybody actually ever stomp wine with their feet? Yes. In Portugal, they still do a lot of stomp. Oh, a small town in Portugal. A lot of that is actually, and we still punch down wine. We just use plastic food-grade paddles with stainless steel pipes, and you punch it down like this. A little more sanitary. Well, when I worked in California, we did it with hip waves. No, not necessarily. So, you know, we just sanitized the hip waves each day, and you can jump in and use that. It's just, you know, it's just a matter of whether you... Want to use your legs or your arms. Okay. So you can still do it with your legs for sure. Okay. And you hear me starting to get to read it. Yes. We're resting on the top of the juice. Push the skins down into the wine. Oh, okay. So that's why you're actually. Dude, that guy with that voice. Right. He sings. He's the lead singer at Tool. Yeah, I know. Isn't it crazy? Weird.
Keeping the skins in contact with the juice. That's why you're actually doing that? Okay, and I'm a total novice, so do you have any advice for, like, a novice wine drinker, where to start, or how to... Start with different wines. Good advice. Good advice. Wow. Okay. Try with different people. Yeah, that probably helps the company probably make the big difference. Yeah. Okay, well, I know we're kind of in time crunch. Thanks for waiting. Oh, no, I appreciate you guys making the time. So if you don't mind, since we are Rock 105.3, a couple puss fur questions, if you don't mind. That's his new band, right? That's his new band, so I figured out of all his projects, he may give me something on this, because this is something he's actively involved in right now. But even though I was told, no music questions. Did you get any body language, or did it stay the same? It kind of changed. Like, the wine dude, of course, nothing changed with him, but Maynard kind of like... stiffened up a little bit. I would like the wine guy to answer these questions. So I heard you guys are going to be doing a gig in Vegas at the Palms. So there'll be like a couple nights. 13th and 14th. Okay. And I've heard it described as a cabaret show. Why is it described that way? We're going to try to do as much as we can to break out of the basic mold of a band where I'm playing a bunch of songs and leaving. Okay. So you'll get like a variety. You know, each night may be different.
Oh, that's really, really cool. And then this is just something I've always wondered. The first time I met you at the wine signing in La Jolla, you know, to me, you're not like a recognizable guy. Like I'd noticed walking down the street because every... That is the thing gives me the creeps. The whole creaking of the ceiling. Not distracting at all. Yeah. If it's not bad enough as it is, that's going on. Right, right. And I don't understand how... Are they walking directly above your head? How is it squeaking this way? I don't know. I don't know what was going on up there. All I know is the ceiling was squeaking and somebody was up there. Weird. Every time I see you in concert, normally there's an elaborate kind of get up going on. Is that intentional to keep some privacy in your life? Or is that more of a stage persona? Or am I like off base and people bug you and recognize you all the time? It's just because I really am a big fan of Cher. A Cher. A big Cher fan. What will you do? Fan of Cher is his answer to that question. Well. Well, that's cool. Answer the question, guy. Hey, and by the way.
Great way to break into the whole interview business, right? Hey, Sky, they're not all like this, just so you know. This would be one of my worst having to interview people ever. That was your first one. Yeah, and like Eddie said, I'd be okay with the share answer if you then actually go on to answer the question. But he says share and then stares at me like, next question, please. Anything you're big into now, whether it's like... Politics, a TV show, a new band, an author, is there anything in your life that's... Baby seal clubbing. Baby seal clubbing. Okay, well, that's personally not my cup of tea. I like to hug and embrace baby seals, but to each their own. Okay. The mangus goes really well with spotted owl. A spotted owl. So any endangered animal really goes well with your wine. Yeah, pretty much. Okay, so we recommend that to all our listeners. Kill an endangered animal and enjoy it with Maynard and Eric's wine. Okay, cool. Well, thanks, guys. I appreciate you taking the time.
come to Whole Foods and buy some of their stuff. Thanks a lot. Thank you very much. This is what I know about Maynard. Now, before this, this is what I know about Maynard. Maynard's a dark cat. Oh, man. He's a dark cat. He is. He's dark. So, listen, I'm not entirely surprised that he wasn't the most warm and, you know, gracious guy. No, but you figure, like, if somebody asks you a question, you know, I understand making a joke. But then you answer the question. Especially somebody who's been waiting like two and a half hours past your scheduled interview time and doesn't even complain about it. That's brutal. You just gave the worst interview of all time. Well, and it sounds like kind of like the whole point was he kind of wanted to. It was like he was doing it because he was upset. But dude, if you're going to get upset, why agree to it? Why agree to it at all? So if you want to enjoy that gem again. Sean's putting it up for us at MikeyShow.com. Wow. Show your friends the best interview ever. Wow. Well, I think you did great. You did? Yeah. I tried my best. You really did. I was really impressed. Given the circumstances, you did very good. It was not fun, Ashley's mom. Jeff Gordon couldn't have driven that car. That is true, man. Mikey, Mikey. Yo, you don't even know what stupid is. The Mikey Show is on. It's about to get awesome.

Hey, I want to let you know, AMCO is doing it up for you right now. Especially you P1s that have the check engine light on. Here's what I mean. You got the check engine light on.
Take it into Amco. They're going to tell you why that light is on for free. And if any additional diagnosis is required, just tell them you're P1. And they will give you 10% off on the repairs. It's pretty cool. Now, remember, they don't just do transmissions, although they are the world's best transmission place. They've been in business since 1964. But they do oil changes. They do brakes. They do tune-ups. They do cooling systems. And they don't want to fix what isn't broken. And most of all, I trust them. And I send my friends there. I send my family there. I literally sent my neighbor there. And I'd love to have you go try it out. If you're a P1 and you got that thing going on with your check engine light, do not waste time. Get it down to Amco. Amco is double A. Beep, beep. M-C-O. Why would you take it anywhere else? That's a shame right there. That hurt me. Okay. San Diego's Rock 1053. Now back to the Mikey Show featuring Mikey. Albert Pujols and who else? Obviously. Welcome back to the show. It's the Mikey Show. Our phone number here is 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. Uh, I have been talking about the Starbucks red program and, uh, my very own Starbucks baristas in the studio right now. That's right. Lila's here. How you doing Lila? I'm good. How are you doing? I'm good. Uh, and you got a couple of things to tell us about. One is you're going to tell us about the, uh, red program. That's right. And, uh, dude, what's your name? Ryan. Ryan. Ryan and Lila are both in here. What's up, Ryan? Dude, Ryan grew up in the Bay Area. Yep, wearing his shark's hat right now. He remembers us. He's been listening to the Mikey Show since we were in San Jose. Wow. Since we were little kids. That's right. We started when we were six, and so the show has matured. Do you get it? The show has matured because we were six. That's right, Sky.
And Sensei. Like I haven't been to enough. I know. I know. So Lila's going to tell us about a couple of things. First of all, she can probably articulate a lot better than I can about Product Red. What is Product Red? Well, it's an organization that Starbucks is teaming up with. All Starbucks. Basically, if you get one of our peppermint mocha twists, our espresso truffle. Or our Ginger Snap Latte, which are our holiday drinks. We give a nickel directly to the Global Fund, which gives money to help people with AIDS in Africa. That's awesome. Love it. That's awesome. And so the cool thing about it is, is that for a lot of us, we're going to be going in there and we're going to be ordering these drinks because they're delicious anyway. Yeah. We like them. They come out at the holidays. We want them. Duh. It's even better when you know that it's going to something cool. So, and then what else? Oh, and then the... Tell me about the thing that you guys are also doing for the troops. Yeah, well, our store, which is Unlucadia and El Camino Real, we're collecting pounds of coffee so you can come into our Starbucks and buy a pound of coffee and we will grind it and send it over to the troops after December 12th. Yeah, and lots of Starbucks in our area are doing it. And so far, as of Tuesday, we've collected 2,000 pounds.
That's great. Which I'm guessing the Starbucks coffee is a little bit better than the coffee they have over there right now. I'm thinking just a little bit. Yeah, and they don't get to be home with their family, so at least they get to have a good cup of coffee during the holidays. So that's what we're doing. That's cool. That's cool. Yeah, I get the half-calf, a little bit of cream. It's a venti. So I get the Splendas in there, the three Splendas. And it's a fantastic drink. First customer of the day? I am. Every day? Every day. I'm the first one in there. Eddie, what do you get? Do you know what he gets every time? Yeah, we try to have it ready. Holy moly. That's awesome. Usually the same people for the first hour or so. Usually the whole day, but the first hour we know almost everyone's drinks. Eddie, what do you get? I don't really drink hot coffee.
Every once in a while, I'll get the grande mocha frappuccino. It's my favorite. No whip. No whip. No whip. No whip. No whip. No whip. Just makes a mess at the bottom of the cup. The peppermint mocha frappuccinos are good. Add it. Delicious. Eddie, maybe they can fix your lid straw problem. Yeah, let's talk about this stuff. I know that we need to do this now. Something has happened. Something has happened. You know what I'm talking about. It's a complaint. We fixed it. Something has happened with the lids at Starbucks on the cold drinks where you can't put the straw in because it squeezes the straw shut because they're too tight. I swear it's good intentions. Okay, so our lids, we tried. Right in that microphone. We tried to up the recyclable materials that we used. I like that. Which we were like, okay, awesome. So we use a lot more recyclable material in our lids now. However, we didn't really think about the straws, maybe, because they don't... They're, like, the lips are, like, super strong. It's ridiculous. And the straws kind of just, like, smash and paste it. So we did fix it. They just added, like, an extra, like...
Like an extra cut or something. So it makes it open up more? People were complaining, huh? Yeah, I knew it. Eddie can notice the slightest change. Dude, it was brutal. And you would try to make it the whole bigger and then you'd slice your finger because it'd go through the... It was really dangerous. I think you're getting a bit dramatic now. I'm dramatic? A little bit. How dare you, sir. But they fixed it, so you're all good. Well, we'll see next time I get it. I'll let you know. If you got the whipped cream, you'd get a dome lid and then you wouldn't have a problem. Oh, face. Now I'm furious. You and I are not speaking. What did you bring to eat? You brought some stuff. Eddie seems to enjoy it. Nothing. You don't like it at all. Pumpkin what? You be quiet. I love pumpkin anything. Eddie doesn't want to share. We have pumpkin loaf. I love pumpkin loaf. We brought pumpkin love because it goes really good with our Christmas blend coffee that we brought too because Christmas blend. Let me tell you, he was tearing into that stuff like he was on Survivor and that was his. Yes, he keeps it right there. Because of that one in there that you just gave away my secret. Lili, you have no idea. She'll devour that stuff. She'll come in here and devour it.
Hey, you guys, thank you. I think it's a cool thing what you guys are doing. I think it's a really cool thing. Well, thank you so much. We really appreciate being on the show. It's cool. It's cool. And people should support it. That Project Red is really cool. And support the troops by going into the Encinitas store. doing it up that way, too. That's very cool. Thank you for making Mike's coffee perfect every morning, because I swear, like, on days where it would happen in the past... She's out of control. Mike, let's talk about this. In the past, when there'd be, like, a mystery barista, and you weren't there, I mean, and it'd be, like... Catastrophe. No, I took over a year and a half ago, and if they were ever late, like, when I first started, I was like, okay, well, you know, like, you know, if the store opens late or anything like that, and I remember hearing from Mike, like, why does it open late sometimes? And I was like, okay, we will never open late. And I've been there for a year and a half, so I don't know how it's been. It's been great. You're the best. You're the best. We haven't heard a complaint since. Haven't heard a complaint. I'm the happiest Starbucks guy in the world. I'm very, very happy. Thanks to you. One customer at a time. That's right. Awesome.
Chris Martin from the band Coldplay says that they're not really breaking up. Just kidding. Oh, psych. Yeah, so we talked about this a while ago, about how we did this interview, and he was saying... Oh, wait, wait, wait. They can say it. They can say it. They can say it if they want to. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If they want to. Go ahead. Sorry. But if they hate us and want to leave, we'll understand. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you guys have... No pressure. No pressure. Sean, if you guys can, you can, and if you can't, and you've got to be somewhere, it's totally up to you. Oh. Oh, yeah. Oh, they're going paintballing. Oh, really? Oh, nice. Oh, that's funny. Yeah. That's great. That's cool. Work on those lids. They fixed it already. Okay. But anyway, so Chris Martin said a while ago that they were going to treat 2009 like their final year because, you know, they don't want to be old rock stars or whatever. I remember that. Yeah. And so everybody, like, freaked out. Like, oh, my gosh, Coldplay only has a year left. Well, now he's going, oh, no, everybody misunderstood me. I didn't quite mean it that way. What I meant is that. We're proceeding as if it's our last year because that's the only way to proceed. You got to have deadlines. And then he goes on. You said. Yeah, that they're going to pour everything they have into next year and not think beyond that. But at the same time, Coldplay will be together forever. Okay. I am over every rock song. I'm over all of you. I hate you all. Just do your music.
Shut up. What if he makes wine? Or apple butter? Oh my gosh. I'm very fragile today. She's fragile. I'm sorry. She's very fragile. Have you ever heard of apple butter? Shut your dirty mouth. You know what it is? For those of you that are new. Well, people don't know what the reference is. Where's Rob? Rob, have you ever heard of apple butter? Oh! I don't know what you put it on. A Skye joke? Huh? He's so happy. He's so happy. Skye. I was going to text you this the other night. No, no. But what do you put apple butter on? I just, I do wheat toast and just apple butter. Skye's husband is obsessed with apple butter. He talks to her about it and annoys her. Well, every time he talks to me about it, it's like, I have no clue what it is. I never knew it existed. Please. What do you make of the Swedish woman that lost her disability payments because her breasts were too big? What do you make of that? What do you make of that? I think it's obvious, Mike. Congratulations. What is it? Well, so this chick, this Swedish woman, she was in a car accident and suffered really bad whiplash and had to go on disability. But she's got built-in airbags. Seriously. Doesn't she?
Well, but that doesn't stop your neck from flying forward and back. Whiplash. Yeah, right. She was in a car accident. She got whiplash from the big boobs. So she hadn't been able to return to work because the whiplash was so bad. And black eyes. But that was from jogging. They suddenly cut off her disability payments, and she's like, what's the problem? And they said, we don't believe your back pain is due to the car accident. We think it's because of your big breasts. So if you have breast reduction surgery, then maybe we can talk. Whoa. Right? How crazy is that? That's crazy. Cheapos. Man. Awful. These insurance companies. Yeah. I don't like them. I'm over them and rock stars. Yeah, and winemakers. And wine. Thank you. Big wine guys. Yeah. Who think they're not. Yeah, I'm not a wine guy. In Wisconsin, there was a couple people living in a car for a radio thing. Like, you get to keep the car. The last person is, you know.
Been there, done that. He's done that with Star. I did it two years. I did it once with the roller coaster, once living in a car. Star Viver, by the way. How did they come up with that? That is catchy. I actually think I came up with that. You don't want to admit that. So what happened? Well, yeah. This radio station was doing a thing. You live in the car and then you win this like $30,000 brand new car. And it came down to two people, a 26-year-old dude and a 40-year-old woman. They had been in this car for 55 days. What? Right? Doesn't even touch what happened with us. Really? Yeah. We had to end our contest after 76 days on the roller coaster. Why? That's amazing. We had five contestants still on the roller coaster after 76 days. And they weren't getting off. They weren't getting off. Really? And so. How much would they ride it? They would ride it all day long, all night long, 24 hours a day. So like start at 8 and at 5? No, 24 hours a day. Oh, it was constantly going. Yeah. So wait a minute. At 3 in the morning, they were like. No, you know, now that you say that, I think that they had to sleep on the roller coaster.
While it was moving? Not while it was moving. While it was stopped. While it was stopped. Got it. And so, yeah. So when Belmont Park closed, I think they stopped the roller coaster. And they were allowed to get off, go to the bathroom, had to come right back. They got one 30-minute break a day and a couple of 10-minute breaks. See, I think that's the problem. You make it to, you know, they get to stretch their legs. I said that, too. I said we should just, like, stop letting them have breaks. Yeah. But, you know, I guess medically they were getting all jacked up and all that stuff. So what they ended up doing was they, I think the station offered them, the grand prize was like $50,000. And I think they offered them each $10,000. And a trip to Hawaii. And they all took it. So that's kind of similar what happened here. So they were in the car for 55 days. And the radio station was like, this is never going to end. Because both of them were like, we're going to be here as long as it takes. We are not giving up. So finally this week, the radio station offered them a compromise. They said, okay, we'll give each of you $10,000 towards the purchase of a new car. And this is some like radio schwag prizes. They couldn't get another car. Thank you. Come on.
They said, or else we can keep going and the runner-up will get nothing. So they took it. It took them about 15 minutes to discuss it, and then they both decided to take it. 55 days. Wow. This text message says, Sky, I saw you at Whole Foods last night and just wanted to say you were looking hot. Ditch the boo, marry me. Did you see the boo? I mean, please. The hair. How can you get rid of that? That's right. Delish. P1 Bureaucrat wrote in and said, Eddie, thank you for fixing the lid problem. Yes. You got it done, dude. That was a real thing, man. It was driving him nuts. Dude, I have to take the lid completely off to drink the dang drink because it would squeeze the straw shut. Dude, listen to this. You know, he was in there for like five minutes, so. Does he, uh, I mean, he has to work it in. Yeah, every time, Mike. He really likes that. It's a good, upbeat song. Oh, boy, that's a real sing-along. All right. Do you really like this, Robert? Do you just do that to be funny? Do you just say that to be funny? I'm being not serious. Do you really like it? I love this. I got four of their CDs in my CD player right now in my car. Really? I'd love to see him kind of... Yeah, yeah, yeah. Land's down. Mama Ken's a rat mess. Sarah Smith, Matt Damon. I like this. Let's finish writing this after the show. That is funny.
5701053. Sky has the top 10 Yahoo searches of 2008. Yeah. Oh. Okay, calm down. Let me get the last one before you start. Britney Spears. Boston Rob. Apple butter. Yes, Mike. Britney Spears, again, is number one for the Yahoo search. Is that a rice? Heath Ledger, too soon? Kaiser. Eddie. Oh, no. Way too soon. Way too soon. You think it would be a big search? Did anyone hear the Kaiser joke? Oh, my God. No one thought it was funny. That's why no one thought it was funny. I did not. You should probably never make jokes like that again. Rob. Let's see. Beyonce. Money. Madonna. Oh, WWE. Number two. WWE. Really? Leave the door open. What? How do you surge?
Leave the door open. Recipes for leaving the door open. Number one, leave the door open. Number two, don't even care. What? Number three, enjoy. Number four, share it. He who dealt it. Dot, dot, dot, dot. Because we can get the rest. We don't have to call it off. Anyway. Number six, waft. Ashley, what was really big this year? What went on that was huge this year? Politics. Barack Obama. Barack Obama is number three for the Yahoo 10 searches of 2008. Good times. Cheers.
How many are we missing? Greedo. Mark Wahlberg. I have the top ten. Twilight. No, but good guess. Are you getting it instant messaged? That was from Quimby. Unbelievable. I am asking. Ridiculous. Yeah, tell him to stop. I don't ask for it. The November rain video. Oh, September rain. Huge this year. Maybe there was a youthful singer that everyone was talking about. Michael Jackson. Jordan Sparks. Yes, Ashley. Fantastic. Number four is Miley Cyrus. Oh, Rob said it. Miley's fantastic. Yeah. Fantastico. Oh, I can't believe you just IM'd me that, Ashley. Oh, no. Don't even say it. Come on. Don't even say it. So inappropriate. Definitely too soon. That's disgusting. Hot chicks are always on this list. They are hot chicks. Mariah Carey. Kim Kardashian. Tandy Lonebrow. Is Tandy on there? Jessica Tandy. She was Girl of the Year. Jessica Alba is number six. Danny Gans. Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year, Danny Gans. 2006. Is that on the list? Keith Olbermann. Bill Bellamy. Donald Sutherland. Donald Trump. Donald Duck. Dumbledore is gay. That's a thing, right?
There are no more men on the list. Oh, Blossom Men. Yeah. Or a friend six. How dare you? How dare you? That was the worst. What did he say? Her friend six. You're such a nerd. That was awful. Yeah, right? Just saying. Dana Plato. The word. Whoa. All right, Sky, what did we miss? Number 10, American Idol. Because I was on it, yeah. Oh. Number nine, Angelina Jolie. Oh. Number eight, Lindsay. Brad Pitt. That's not right. Sasha Baron Cohen. Benjamin Button. Sasha Baron Fierce. Borat. Number eight, Lindsay Lohan. Number seven, Nerato. Oh, that's a great black and white silent Dracula movie. It's so scary. And if I mispronounce it, don't email me. I don't care. And finally, finally. Alan Ripley. Finally, number five.
is Runscape, which is an online... Oh, you're right. Again, don't care. How does it spell? Australian Construction Worker. Dune. Dune, Sky. I love that movie. What? I do. No, you do not. I swear I do. So those were your top ten Yahoo searches for 2008. What about Tron? Is that on there? I love that movie too. Again, 2008. Before we went to break, I said that there was a woman that just admitted posing as a doctor doing illegal abortions right here in San Diego County. Where was it? Well... First, this woman operates a total of six abortion clinics in Southern California, but the one specifically here is in Chula Vista in the South Bay. Now, she has admitted to posing as a doctor for doing these illegal abortions. Let's see. She faces up to nine years in prison if convicted. You know, she also allegedly prescribed medication to these women. Lots of these women suffered severe complications. One woman had to be hospitalized.
three separate times due to it. The other complications I don't think you even want to hear. So she has pled guilty to nine counts of practicing medicine without a license and one count of grand theft and she will be sentenced in February. That's awful. Really, really sad. At least they got her locked up. And how does that enter her head? How do you get into that? How do you start that? So bizarre. Let's see. From yesterday email, he had a long day. He's got a long day today with the Chargers game. Oh, that's right. And he's hoping that it's not cold out there because he forgot his jacket today. Oh, Chad. Are you kidding me? Do you want to borrow mine from my tracksuit? Are you going to have to buy a sweatshirt for $75? I will not. I'd rather freeze. Really? This is like the third game. I don't.
I don't wear jackets, and I forget when I'm out there for an extended period of time to bring one, and I don't have one today, and I hope that it's sunny. Maybe Laz will cuddle with you. That could be. He's a good cuddler. It's what I heard. How do you know? I'm just saying. You freak. I heard it at bombs. You hear everything at bombs. Oh, dude. So much good stuff going on there. So did you guys know Crocodile Cafe at Fashion Valley is gone? It is? Yeah. What Ashley said? See you later. That's crazy. Crazy. What is it now? I didn't like the food there. Oh, I did. What is it now, Ashley? I mean, literally overnight, and now it's called Bing Crosby, and it's this extremely nice restaurant. What is that, Ashley? Bing Crosby? B-I-N-G. Crosby. As in Bing Crosby? Yeah. What a trip. And there was a piano in there, and it's kind of like a piano bar almost restaurant, so there's a guy playing piano. Oh, yes, I frequented there. You must be 76 in order to be able to go in there. Seriously? It's a Bing Crosby. I think it's awesome.
You must have dated Bing in order to go in. Yeah, you figured me out. You used to find me at the Lawrence Welk Resort. Now you can find me there. I love it. You got me all figured out. I love Lawrence Welk, Bing Crosby. You can find me at the Bing's. The Bunny Bing. Was it any good? Honestly... Am I allowed to say my honest opinion? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's not mean, right? You didn't like it. You didn't like it. Well, this is the deal, because I love the ambiance. It was fantastic. And it was so nice. I was like, wow, this is going to be a money meal, right? Well, it was definitely expensive, but, like, the quality of the food was mediocre. I mean, I got, like, the sea bass, and I'm an expert on this fish special at restaurants. An expert. I always get it. I go to Bing's for the sea bass. I always get the fish special at, like, nice restaurants. I'm always a fan of, like, oh, the sea bass with the baby carrots and the mashed potatoes. It's, like, my thing. So, you know, this was mediocre. Like, it was not, and it was, like, extremely expensive. Like, what are we talking? We're talking, like, a $32 entree. Whoa! My friend Marcella. Hey, Bill Gates, what are you doing? You have a friend named Marcella? Yeah. What is, is that the black dude from Pulp Fiction? We used to work at Joe's Crab Chef together. Dude.
Don't give his wife a full massage. Why don't you just wait 45 minutes to go to the Cheesecake Factory? No, because we had heard good things about Bing Crosby. Bing Crosby. Bing Crosby. Bing Crosby. Thinking it would be good. And it was good. I'm not saying it was even bad. I just think that it was overpriced. 30-some bucks for an entree is a lot. Yeah, it is. Fashion Valley, hello. Yeah, yeah, yeah. A bunch of Range Rovers. 30 bucks for some sea bass. Better be good. And Bing Crosby. Bing Crosby's. That place is bomb. State funding is running out for school free lunch programs. I didn't know they had school free lunch. Sky. Are you okay? Sky likes a free lunch. Likes it. I know you'll like it, but she loves it. Hold on, Mike. I've got to catch my breath. You all grow up. Sky, what's the deal? Well, yeah, you know, if your family qualifies, kids can get free lunches. I remember, you know, back when I was in high school, you know, kids would get like little tickets and they'd go up. Sometimes I would throw grilled cheese sandwiches at them and enjoy a free lunch with you.
Well, just like anything, you know, everybody's hurting because the economy, the, you know, the budgets and the schools are getting cut. And then on top of it, since so many families are struggling, more people are now qualifying for the free lunch program. So there's more demand on the system and less money there. So they're saying that they're asking for about $32 million that they need to fill the gap for this program. Can we, that's what we should spend money on. Honestly, that's what we should spend money on. You know when you hear the phrase, we could be using that money for? Right. That's what we should be saying that we should be using it for. Yeah, because the school superintendent said, you know, people are throwing around ideas like, oh, well, we could. Ron, just take this cup to me for that one. Here, here, here. Here we go. Stop it. Yeah, the school superintendent. Dude, why do you think I stayed this high? Oh, how dare you, Sean? So the school superintendent said that people have even like suggestion when they're like brainstorming how to fix this problem that they like.
cut back on the meals and make the meals less nutritious because it would be cheaper. And he said there's no way that's acceptable. But he also wants parents to know that they can still sign their kids up for this program. They're going to figure out a way to make it work. So if you're hurting, if your kid needs a healthy lunch, you still can sign your kid up for the program. Would you guys rather have no public trash cans exist or no public toilets exist? No public toilets. What? This is asking, where are you? Are you a type of person that just would hate to see garbage littered at places? Or are you the type of person that says, hey, I come first, I got one or two? So where would you go? You would have to hold it. I already avoid public toilets like the plague, and I'm really good at holding it, and I would hold it until I got to a private restaurant. But you would not want to see people... Throw on their garbage. Well, and that's my other thing. This is a two-ply statement. A, I hate public restrooms. B, I hate littering. I'm very against littering. Skye. You know, when you first asked, I said, oh, obviously get rid of the trash cans because not for a second did I think people would actually litter. They would just hold on to their trash, you know, because that's what I would do. I would just hold on to it until I got to someplace with a trash can.
But, yeah, I'm still sticking with it. No trash cans. I hope people will be responsible. What about you, Eddie? Well, I'm the opposite of Ashley. I prefer public restrooms. That is a lie. I love littering. I love it. You do not. I love it. I do it all the time. Stop it. It's one of his hobbies. It's my thing. Go out for a nice long walk. Ashley has her seafood thing. She loves sea bass, and I love to litter. Don't judge me. Don't judge me unless you're going to judge her. I'm judging you. Well, I'm calling you a liar is what I'm doing. I'm not judging. Fine. Let's see. Get rid of both. No. Would you rather marry someone who is kind but not really in love with you or marry someone who treats everyone else terribly and disrespectfully but totally adores you? Oh, yuck. You turkey. The first one. Marry somebody that is kind but not really in love with you. What? You can be with somebody that was not really in love with you over the other one. Yeah. I would hate life if I had to watch. And I would hate that person. I would hate my spouse if they were a meanie pants. I would avoid being around other people.
but I couldn't take it if the person wasn't in love with me and I was married to him. Now you just get a little something on the side. Oh! Was that Skye? Eddie's mouth is dropped open right now. Oh, I bet that sounds like fun. Yeah, his mom gets it. Well, hello. Oh, my. Let the romance begin. I'm just throwing out suggestions. I need to freak out. Would you rather come home and find out that a prankster's nailed all your windows shut or taken all the labels off your canned goods? I like both of those. I'll do either. I don't care. Both are great. Canned goods, definitely. What? Oh, yeah. Well, first of all, I don't use very many canned goods. And second of all, I like to have... a lot of windows open in my house. I like the fresh air. Doors, windows, it doesn't matter. When you're stinking the entire house. I would need some fresh air too. Whether it's my house or the planet, I've just got to get it out there. I got more of these. We'll do some in a second. This is The Mikey Show. Hey, I love The Mikey Show. You know what? You guys are awesome. I do too. Thank you, brother.

Welcome back. It's KIOZ San Diego. Hit it. It's KIOZ San Diego. Kiosk! That is awesome. That was yesterday's kiosk. That was a live kiosk that took place on the air. It's almost frightening. Almost frightening? Wanted to let people know we're going to Vegas.
We will be doing the show live from Las Vegas one week from tomorrow. We know who the Ultimate Fighter finales contestants are now. Who is it? After last night. I don't know if it will make any sense to you. Who is it? We got Vinny against Bader in the light heavyweights. Bader? That's his last name. Ryan Bader. Ryan Bader. Darth Vader. Are they good? Darth should be his middle name. One's a real good wrestler, and one is a jiu-jitsu guy. And the jiu-jitsu guy, you know, is going to tap him out. No question about it. Quickly. Yeah, because, I mean, Bader will probably try to take it to the ground because he's a wrestler. And once he goes to the ground, then the jiu-jitsu guy will just... Now, they got there from fighting, right? Yes. Yeah. And then the light heavyweight, or lightweights, sorry. It is Felipe Nover. It's my maiden name. What's your maiden name? Yeah, my maiden name is Michael Felipe Noter. I knew that. It's Nover. Oh, then we don't have the same name. When you first said it, I was like, oh, wow. I wonder if we know each other. All these years. Yes. He's fighting not Junie. Yeah. The Junie Browning guy is the guy that had like...
Mental problems. He was jacked up. He was crazy. Big time problems. You guys were asking me about the marathon, the Ultimate Fighter marathon. It's this Saturday. If you want to catch up on all the episodes, this Saturday they're showing every episode. Nova is fighting Efren Escudero. Thank you. I went to high school with that guy. Is that Pinky's cousin? He's a nice guy. He's a really good guy. Still sends my family Christmas cards. It's going to be a great card. By the way, if you would like to win tickets to Las Vegas, you could do it by going to the Beverages and More, either in La Mesa or Encinitas. But if you just want to go and pay for your own self, you can go to palms.com. which is where we're staying. Rooms for Thursday nights start at $79. That is cheap for Vegas. For the Palms? Friday and Saturday nights, you can get tickets for $129 a night. Oh my gosh. That's a great deal for Friday and Saturday. Did I just say especially? You did. We weren't going to point it out, Mike. You never said especially. Never. Well said. Especially if
You're talking the palms. It's so nice. When there's a fight there and all the celebs are out. It's pretty cool. Come on. This next one is a tough one. This next one is a tough one. What's up, bro? You'd rather have eye boogers, and I mean bad, crusty eye boogers. Looks like you got pink eye, practically. You'd rather have eye boogers or that permanent white crushed right here. Eye boogers. By your mouth, where you're talking, and while you're talking, you got the nyanya. Oh, gross. The nyanya, nyanya, nyanya, nyanya, nyanya, nyanya. I hate that. Eye boogers. For sure. Yeah, no question about it. Yeah. You can really see them. They look like green rocks sitting right there. Yellow. Mine are white. Yours are white? We don't need to talk. Sky, I'm talking the crusty ones. Like if I have pink eyes? What kind of sorcerer are you? Are you bleeding milk? What's going on with you? Ash, can you hear me? Alright, I overemphasize. When you wake up in the morning and you got the gunk in your eyes, it's just so gross when people are looking at their eyes. They're both distracting. Eye boogers can be funny. The other one's no joke. See, I feel that this is a no-brainer.
It is. Nobody wants to kiss the nyam-nyam. No. Thank you. That's the decider right there for me. That's it. Eddie's like, I don't know. Eddie's it. I kind of like it. Depends. Kind of sexy. It's kind of hot. What would you take? Come on, Chad. I don't know. I feel pressure because you guys all said the other one. No, you can't be yourself. You would take the mouth meow meow? I think so. Dude, when you talk, it's no big deal. It's like a little string bounce in there. What about you, Sky? I said the booker. You still would? I tried to talk you out of it. Alright. I told you to go to palms.com. That's dumb. What else is a big thing that I gotta get out of the way before we go? iTunes top albums and singles of 08. What's the number one? The number one album for 2008 on iTunes was... Taylor Hicks. No. Atlantic Star. It was Coldplay Viva La Vida was the number one album. And the number one single on iTunes... I think I have a cut from it. You want to hear a cut from it? Yeah.
Yeah, this is it. Coldplay? No, that's not it. Here it is. This is Coldplay. This is not. Nope. It's probably one of my favorite Coldplays. This is Marty Casey. This is one of the coolest. So good. If you are what you say, you are the star. I like it. I'm a big fan. Okay, and the number one single for 2008. Yes. Mama, I'm Coming Home. Yeah. Home sweet home. Give me more. September rain. It is Leona Lewis, Bleeding Love. Oh, good one. I like that one. You're seeing it. I just like her. It's your tone. K-Fed's going to be talking about Britney and the upcoming issue of People. Yeah. It wouldn't surprise me if he takes the high road.
Yeah, he's pretty good. I read some stuff he said. One thing he did say, though, that was interesting is that he's more concerned with his children than he was with Britney. Not saying that Britney wasn't important, but his children were more important, like when they were married. Oh, really? And he also claims that the divorce and the kids has nothing to do with money. And all he cares about is the kids' safety and, you know, how the kids need to be structured and have a routine. But then it's interesting because as he's talking about all this good parenting stuff, they have a picture in there. of Kayfed with his two kids sitting on the kitchen counter, like on the island, like sitting Indian-style in the middle of the kitchen island while there's, like, eggs and stuff on the counter. Really? Which I don't kind of... You don't like that, right? And he's looking at me like... Does he have...
kids from another marriage? Didn't you see Kramer vs. Kramer? Yeah, hello. Yeah. They made French toast? Yeah. It's sort of the sweetest scene in the movie, Eddie. But did they sit on the thing they did in the middle of the island? Well, it was in an island. He sat on the kitchen counter. No, the idea behind it was that he was a dad and was kind of irresponsible and was being sued by his wife because he fell off the monkey bars. That has nothing to do with anything. That's the point he made, Eddie. That was so touching. He ran all the way to the hospital. That's a great movie. Have you guys ever seen it? Never. Yes. Will you calm down? It's a really good movie. Okay. I don't want to. Man. It's all right. People think it's my favorite movie. It's not my favorite movie, but it's definitely a good movie. It's up there. And a really good reference to me. Wow. Yeah. From time to time. From time to time. From time to time. Every time. You know what I mean? Just every once in a while, mix it in there. Wow. Like cover a couple years. Maybe you should try that. I wish. All right. I'll give it a shot. Every once in a while, I'll try to mix it in there. Every couple of years. You guys, I think we talked about everything. Alright, sayonara. Sayonara. 5701053. Let's go have some Sensei. Stop it. Get ready for ham. We've moved past it, everyone. Let's go have some Giovanni Ribisi.
That would be great. This text message says, Eddie, for the first time in a while, I'm actually nervous to play the Raiders. Oracle, please tell me everything's going to be okay. It's P1 Charger Junkie. I'm not going to lie to you. You can't guarantee it? I'm not saying nothing. Smart. That's my whole take on the pregame show today. I'm not going to say nothing. Smart. You're smart. Like a broadcaster. That's going to be good. Oh, I like that. Broadcast. Really good. Thank you. Appreciate that. We had a dwarf on the show earlier, and she got leg extensions. She actually literally had her legs sawed and then grown. Now they healed, and she grew taller. I found the interview very suspicious. A little fishy. But we got some text messages about it. Mikey, I am a dwarf, and I think it's sad that others can't accept themselves and are willing to go to these ridiculous lengths to be accepted. Be one little girl.
Mikey, how long did it take for the bones to connect? She didn't say, did she? She wasn't sure. She wasn't sure. What are they, her legs? Leave her alone. After she did the math, she said she was two years behind. Two years behind, what does that mean? That was her answer. I didn't know what that meant. How do you not know that? She said it takes half the time to recover that it does to do it, and then she did the math in her head, and she said, so I guess I'm behind two years. So what are you behind? I know. There's no answer there. So if you're 15 years old, it takes seven years to recover from it? Well, she said the time it takes to do the surgery. So if the surgery takes 10 years, it takes half the time. But why would it take 10 years to do a surgery? Because you're under the knife for 10 years. Oh, wow. That's a long surgery. Your parents are just sitting out there in the lobby waiting for somebody to come out and tell them something. At that point, you just grow naturally. Exactly.
This text message is from P1Anne. She says, please tell Sky thanks for being such a good sport yesterday with the ham joke that I made to her at Maynard's wine sign. Oh! Ham is just the beginning. There were a couple. And Sky just gave you a wince. Oh yeah, I just rolled my eyes at you. She rolled her eyes at you. Get ready for ham. Tomorrow on the show, Craig Gass will be on. Oh yeah! Crazy! That's right. Yeah, sorry. Don't start that again. Oh, okay. We can. We can. P1BigAG is on the line. What's up? What's up, dude? Just wanted to comment on Sky's interview with Maynard yesterday. Yesterday, the reason why he lagged getting there is because he was doing an interview on another radio station.
The guy doing the interview with him was like, oh, don't worry about going there. Just go ahead and stay here and finish your interview. His phone was blowing up from his publicist telling him he needed to be somewhere else. And that other DJ was telling him, oh, don't worry about it. Oh, come on. What? Yeah. I thought that was a little rude. Yeah, I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Yeah, thank you. I appreciate it. Ebs. Total ass. Mikey Shuff. Hey, Mikey. What's up? What's happening? Good show today, guys. You're awesome. Thanks, dude. Love all you guys. Thank you, man. I'm just wondering if you'd be able to hype up all us Charger fans and play the POD theme song for it. I think I could do that. It might help, Eddie. Why? We haven't done it yet this season. It's too late. Maybe it's the key. It's over. Never late. We can win, Eddie. Never late. Win what? Oh, really? The first quarter. Mikey. No. What's up? Did you have any Josh Lewin clips still, the Weddle pick for six? Dude, that was so awesome when I listened to it. Dude, we lost. Yeah, but still, the pick for six was awesome. It got me hyped. That's right. But we lost the game. He's a fan, Eddie. He's trying to get pumped up. He just wants to be happy. He just wants to love his Chargers. I wouldn't want to listen to a clip from a losing game. No, because he wants to get fired up for his Charger team. Come on, Eddie. Do you think we're going to win tonight, Eddie?
Who cares? Oh, come on, Eddie. Come on. That's how I feel. But what if they... If the team doesn't care, why do I care? Who cares? That's a good point. Kind of a good point, but besides that, let's get... Come on. Yes, they're going to win tonight. Oh, I'm so fired up. There you go. Poor guy. I feel bad for that guy. I know. They deserve better than this, the Charger fans. No question about it. I just saw... Hey, don't worry. After this season, you got the Padres... Oh. Oh. You know what I want to do, honestly? I want a jerk. I feel bad. Let me tell you. That's messed up, bro. You know what I really want to do? I would love to play that call for the Charger players and say, you guys, this is not cool. This poor guy is on the phone genuinely wanting to like you. And he cares more than you guys do. Oh, man. They need to get somebody in there and tell them, you guys don't care. What's the matter? What's the matter? You can act like a man. Hey, what's the matter? Who cares? Dude. Dude. I want people that want to win. I'm going to show you what the fire-up speech is going to sound like tonight before they go on national television. You guys try to remember your assignments tonight? I can hear you. Just make sure you guys are playing at your best and getting out there blocking.
Sounds like he's mumbling. What is that, Seth? I think he's crying. Hey, I want to also let you guys know. Yeah. Security's been saying when you fellas are getting here to park your cars, make sure you show them that badge. That's why you have it. So anyway, where are we going to go after the game? I don't know. Hey, fellas. Guys, come on now. Come on. Let's go down to home. Hey, I'm trying to tell you all. Hey, coach. Hey, guys. I'm just going to open my cell phone. Hey, coach, we're talking over you. Hey. Does anybody know where Mira Mesa is? It's up to 15 anyway. Hey guys, who's the coach talking to? My wife said... I don't know, not me. My wife now is a babysitter over there or something. I don't think this pertains to... Hey guys, we gotta hit the field. I hope you guys win. Oh, you want to go to the field? What?
Oh, how about that new Bing Crosby? Bing. 32%? It's overpriced. All right, guys. Well, good luck. Okay, thanks, Norv. Good talk. He said something? Yeah, he was talking. Some guy sent me a link to a t-shirt company that had the Charger logo, but it said something like Fire Norv or something like that. And I'm telling you, I think that this Charger deal... Oh, yeah. I'm getting all the jokes now. Oh, yeah. I got that. You know, I got the picture of... That the Chargers... In the... What subject line? It says Chargers are on a roll. And it's them on a toilet paper roll. All their numbers. Oh, I didn't get that one. Send that to me. Oh, wow. We are now... Listen. 11 Pro Bowl players have now turned into a punchline. Yeah. How is that punchline? How is that possible? That's crazy. Didn't we just hear from the head coach? Bro, you know what I think could happen? Even though they said that they've committed to him through the 2009 season, I do believe AJ could take that back if we lose the rest of the games.
I think AJ would take it back. Well, I certainly hope so. Obviously, he didn't anticipate losing the rest of the games and things had to be re-evaluated. See, but Eddie, if he wins one more game between now and the end of the season, that probably won't happen. 5-11? I don't think it'll happen. We're okay with 5-11 with this team? Thank you. See, that's the thing. If you're AJ Smith and you're going with the thing of like, A, we're committing to... nor of Turner, and you're obviously committing to him because you believe in him as a coach. Yeah. Okay, then what do you think, if you're A.J. Smith, what do you think the problem is? Well, we've got to remember, he said that, what, two games ago? Mm-hmm. So I bet you A.J. thought, well, we'll win those two games. And then people won't be so... People won't ease up. Yeah. But now, I mean, four and eight? Yeah. Yeah. Huh? Yeah. Huh? Because you have to consider that... Huh? He obviously, he has these positive thoughts about Norv. He doesn't believe it's Norv's problem. He believes it's the player's problem. That they're just not out there. They're not doing their job. But you go, well, Norv, okay, so what are you going to do? Are you going to fire the team? Let's get rid of everybody. Let's get rid of everybody. The Padres are doing it. It's garbage. Rob, if you bring in the Padres one more time. I am bugged out. Because, dude, that.
It sucks, man. It even sucks for me. You're faking it. You're faking it right now. Honest to God, dude, I'm not. Shut up. I like to go watch baseball games. Red Sox championship guy over here. Hey, dude, I love to go watch baseball games, and it's kind of going to suck. Like, when they had Piazza down here, and you let me use your season tickets, man, like, that was cool to go watch these guys play. Like, I'm just a fan of the game, too. All right. I'm sick of your voice. Wow, they bought it. Oh, jeez. They bought it. Jeez. I think I sound dumb. I don't own these teams. Don't take this out on me. How dare you? Can you hear that? Thank you. You can hear that. This is brutal. Dedicated to Rob. Mikey Show. Listen, I'm on my Bluetooth. I've called about 100 times trying to get on the air to say I love you guys. And I just crashed now waiting for the police to come. What happened? I'm sitting on the side of the freeway waiting for the police to come because I rear-ended. I've tried calling you guys about 100 times to get on the air and say I love you all. I love you, too. I've called a million times. How cool is that Bluetooth, though, dude, right? How many times have you called? I'm not sure I can hear you. You're on your Bluetooth. We love you, too. Thank you. How many times have you tried to call? Who are you waiting for? Who did you try to call? How many times? What did you want to tell us?
Thank you. All right. I like that guy. Mikey Show. I like him, too. Hey, Pilon Captor. Hi. Hey, I was wondering if Rob was going to get that surgery for legs so he could get a little bit taller. Ha, ha, ha. You laid on the joke. Already happened. Thank you for saying that. Yes, I'm considering. Mikey Show. Hi, Sky. It's Manor. That's awesome. This is actually a pretty decent Maynard impression. You're talking way too much, though. And you need a little more disinterest in your voice. And your back's not to us. You're not slamming wine bottles. Mikey Show. What's up? I'd like to ask you a would you rather question. Would you rather have somebody throw up in your brand new car or have somebody soil themselves while wearing dolphin shorts? Oh, well, one of them doesn't affect me at all. Why is that? Well, if they're in the dolphin shorts, how does that affect me? If they're in my car, forget it. It's my car. I got to deal with that. The other one, it's the... Please, I'll take them doing their thing in their dolphin shorts, right? Please. Ladies and gentlemen, the lovely and talented Missy is coming up next. Today...
She's got lost and found. I don't know that she does. Why? No, she does not. Because fantasy football starts at 12 o'clock today. Oh, really? Yeah, I'll be on at 1 o'clock. Oh, my gosh. You have a long day, Eddie. Yep. Oh, yeah. I'm not leaving. And are we going out with the POD? No. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't do it. No, come on. It's going to turn it around. Don't do it. Hey, dude. Don't do it. This is the key, bro. Maybe that's what we need in this whole time. It's the key. To what? It's the missing place. Maybe this. To get the number one draft pick. Yep. Oh, man. Eddie, is that possible? We're in the eight hole right now, I think. Are you for real? Yeah, we have a top ten draft. If the season ended today. Oh, my. Can you draft coaches? No. I've been so mean about it, but I'm just so frustrated. Hey, you got the rights. All right, we're going to end with this Charger anthem. And the Chargers, if those Chargers, Eddie, I'm not even going to say it. Tonight's going to be great, okay? Don't! Oh, shit. No, Eddie is disgusting, yeah. All right, we'll see you tomorrow morning. Mikey Show's out.
