The following program contains adult themes and content and is intended for a mature audience. I say hello and welcome and all those pleasantries. It's a Mikey show. It's 6.01. Mostly sunny later today. High temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Carmel Mountain's 35. Right now in OB, it's 36 degrees. The Aztecs are going to be looking for a new head football coach, as yesterday they fired Tom Kraft. All right, folks, welcome to the program. It's the Mikey Show. Sometimes when I sign on like this and I begin, I remember some of the rules that were taught to me when I was just a baby DJ, when I first started out in radio. Rules that came out in the 80s, rules that were very...
relevant in the 80s. Sean, you probably remember some of this stuff. I remember being taught that you only refer to one person when you're talking on the air. You never are supposed to say you guys or folks or stuff like that. That's true. Yeah, you're not supposed to do that. You're always supposed to speak on the radio and say you as if you're talking to one person. It's called you positioning. And those kinds of things were supposed to help you have bigger ratings. And I have held on to exactly none of those rules. They have all gone out the window. I remember hitting a program director up with something that just baffled him in his mind. Baffled him. And that was when I was doing nights here at Rock 105, and they were going to put my show on in San Jose. And I was talking to the program director there at San Jose, and he wanted me,
to pretend that I was only on in San Jose and not talk about San Diego in any way and not mention that I was here and all that business. And I said, I don't want to do that. And he said, why not? And I said, well, because that's not true. I do live in San Diego. And he said, yeah, but people in San Jose, they don't care that you live in San Diego. And I said, well, I'm not going to talk about it in that way. But let me hit you up with something there, guy. What about David Letterman? He doesn't try to pretend he's in Tulsa, even though he broadcasts in Tulsa. And the guy said, yeah, okay. Then, yeah, that makes sense. But, man, he was that real. It was a long silence. And he said, yeah, okay, that makes sense. You could do that. Whatever you want. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 35 years old.
And I have to shave my head about every three days. If I don't, you could definitely see the little... The little... Stubbly-wubblies? Stubbly-wubblies. That's right, baby. Mm-hmm. So I gotta shave them off. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy. Eddie, you shave every couple of days. You don't shave your head, but you shave your face every couple of days. I hate it. Eddie has... As long as I've known him... And Eddie started shaving approximately 11 years old, but... He got facial hair and became a young man very early. So he's been shaving a long time. In the womb, really. That's right. Came out with a goatee. Eddie started shaving at six. But you don't do it very often, right? I hate it. I hate shaving. I don't know if I have extra sensitive skin or what the deal is, but it really bugs me. Yeah. And I hate doing it, and it's, like, time-consuming. And so I try to go as long as possible, but then I start looking like a homeless person. And unlike Boston Rob, I don't like looking like a homeless person. That's true. That is true. Shout at me early. And now I'm going to tell people, this is what worked for me. I'll tell you the biggest thing that changed shaving and the shaving experience for me, fellas, was to begin shaving in the shower.
get one of those fogless mirrors and stick it in there, and you've got to soak that face up with hot water for a long time. You know, you wash everything else while your face is being doused with hot water, and then you shave. But, yeah, as long as I've known Eddie, he has not liked the experience. Sky, she also does not like to shave. She is 28 years old. Well, I mean, shaving in the way that we shave, you know, shaving the face. You don't do that. Well, no, I do not shave my face. You don't need to. You're a woman. I do shave my pits. I actually shaved them last night. How often does a woman have to do that? And my legs. Well, it depends. Like, if you're wearing a tank top, like if your armpits are going to be exposed, if it's me and I have my choice, I will shave every day. Really? Right. What if you, it's the winter time? It can maybe go two days. What about in the winter time? If we're talking winter time and I'm covered up, I'll not shave until I have to. And how long can that be at any given stretch? Well, for example, today I'm wearing a skirt and a undershirt, which is a tank top. So last night I shaved. Yes. Legs and underarms. Yeah, I did and I, you know, I hit every area, but anyway. All right.
It's called an Around the World. Well, I've never heard that. But prior to that, it had probably been like a week and a half. Is it a long process? Holy cow. Well, on my legs. Like the armpits, I probably did maybe like four days prior. But, like, dude, I let the legs go for quite a while this time. Now, this is fascinating because, believe it or not, in the 35 years of my life, the questions I'm about to ask, I do not know the answers to. And I consider myself a guy that knows a lot. What do you put on your underarms? Do you put soap or do you put a shaving cream? Well, everybody's different, but normally I use soap. I don't even know what my wife does. I have no idea. Do you see shaving cream in the shower? We use two different showers. Oh, well, never mind. Yeah. Yeah, it is. I have my own shower. So I use soap, but, you know, I'm sure everybody uses something different. What do you use, Ashley? Shaving cream. You use a shaving cream? Yeah. specific kind? Is it one of those chick shaving creams? Yeah. Yeah, I love it. I get it like at the Costco, like the super, got like five of them. Skye, do you use a shaving cream on your legs? No. Soap everywhere. Soap everywhere. Like, you know, like I'll go through stages where I'll use like shaving cream, but I actually prefer just regular like dove soap. Yeah. And do you use the chick shaving creams when you do use shaving creams? Well, it just, whatever's on sale, dude.
Chick shaving cream, dude shaving cream, whatever's the cheapest. Not me. Gross. I like the flavors. Why is that gross, Sean? Ladies and gentlemen, Grandma Sky, whatever's cheapest. I have a question. Why is that gross, Sean? What is the difference between guy shaving cream and girl shaving cream that makes that gross? One is for a dude and one is for a chick. Yuck. They're like the exact same thing. But, Sky, they smell so drastically different. Well, the smell. But if you're washing it all off anyways, what does it matter? It stays. It stays. Well, sure. Well, if you're a girl and you get out of the shower and you put 10 gallons of smelly lotion on you, then it doesn't. Sean's our sound effects guy. He's 35 years old. How often do you shave, Sean? I try to avoid it if at all possible. Once a week, maybe. Gross. There you go, Skye. Disgusting. Get in there. You go, girl. Oh, man. And I'll tell you something else I do. I use one of those old-fashioned barber brushes to shave. No way. Yeah. Shauna gave it to me as a gift, and I freaking love it.
Oh, to put on the shaving cream? Yeah. Oh, okay. I have this little... I was confused. You said you used a brush to shave. I'm like, what? No, no, no, no, no. To put on the shaving cream. To put on the shaving cream. I used to, I mean, my whole life up until, of course, Shauna came into my life, our program director. I used to use the, you know, the stuff you spray on your hands. And then Shauna gave me this deal, and you got this little container. And it's got the soap that's made specifically for that little brush, and you put it in the brush, and you lather it up on your face. It's one of the most comfortable experiences. But do you have to put it, like, in a cup first? No, they sell them in these little tubs. They come in little tubs. You get them at Nordstrom. And you, like, dip the brush in there and move the brush around a little bit, and then you stick it on your face, and it lathers you all up. Interesting. It's such a relaxing thing. Like Eddie and I have talked about, we would love to be able to go to a barber shop and be shaved by a straight razor. I mean, it makes me nervous, but I'd do it. Yeah, I would too. Because I think it would be cool. Yeah. I mean, if Boston Rob shaved, he said he would be in on it. I would love to do that. That's right. Let's make a day of it. Yeah, guys. Come on, guys. We can buy new suits. Yeah. New suits, eh? So we go down to the barber shop and we all get shaved. Guys, no doubt. Yeah. No girls, okay? Yeah.
Maybe get a massage. Oh, yeah. Mike. That's right. You know, good guy. Yeah. No icky girls can go that day, though. It's just us guys. We'll make a day of it. Just a boy's day out. Yeah, just for us fellas. Really pamper ourselves. Yeah, you know. Boston Rob is 23 years old. Hey, all of our chicks did that. And I'll tell you what, man. If Sean lived here, his wife, Dina, would have been right in on that business. That's true. She is the girliest girl. To the point of where all the girls are buying memberships at that spot. I know it. I'm like, what? Yeah. Oh, man. Dude, it's awesome. That's like the best deal ever. Yeah. I'm in on that place. Wish they shaved legs there. Salon Inc. Well, you do get one wax per visit. Holy cow. But, you know, it depends on where you choose. One of these days, Skye. One of these days, Skye. My wife did that, and she doesn't do that, you know. She doesn't go into spas and get waxed.
So it was a new experience for her. She was so cute about it. She almost chickened out. She was so funny. Well, they confused her with Skye. So when she went in there, they say to her, you know, are you doing eyebrow or something like that? My wife's like, she had the opportunity to be like, yeah, I am. Yeah. Nope, the old poop shoot. Rip it off. I don't know that that was the area. No, no, it wasn't that area. I heard it was. Why, Ashley? What'd she do? She was just like. Oh, like when she came out, she was just like was like, oh, like about the whole thing. I'm trying to be so ladylike, but she's like, they put me up in like stirrups. Are you serious? She didn't tell me that. She's like, I felt like I was supposed to be having a baby or something. They stick you in stirrups to do it? I guess. Literally, Mikey, like the visual is like you are going to go into labor and have a baby. No way. Are you serious? That's how they put you up. Sky just got the jeebie jeebies, man. Can I ask a question, Ashley? Because, you know, now that I'm buying this package and this may be an option for me, and obviously my husband would be very happy, do you, like, get a choice of how much they take off? Or, like, is this, like, a standard procedure?
Sky, you're real particular about that, right? Exactly. You don't like to look like a child. No, no, I do not want to. Well, they don't, I mean, from what I understand. Oh, okay. From experience. Oh, yeah. Okay, all right. Oh, my gal, got it. Yes. You know, they don't, you're thinking like the upper area. This is a bikini wax, so it's like underneath. Yeah, they definitely. It's right by your private goods. Yeah. They definitely. Because there's hair there. Well, I know, I know. They leave what you would prefer, you know, a little bit of amount of. So you just kind of tell them how you want it and they'll do it. Do you like with your hands? You go, I'd like this much or this much. No, you guys are confusing us again. No, no, no, I know, but they do that too, right? Well, yeah, they'll do that. Ashley got that, right? Ashley or no? No, I didn't. Oh, yeah. I assume she did. The difference is, like, Sky, what you're thinking is a Brazilian wax, and that's when they do everything. Oh, the bikini wax is only? Is your...
your bikini line. So like you could comfortably wear a bikini with no junk hanging out. I guess I can say visually they leave a strip. Like maybe that would be a way to describe, you know what I'm saying? Okay, but that strip is up top. Correct. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? And you can tell them how much strip you would prefer. Sure, sure. If you wanted to. So Sky, you could say, I like the strip to be about eight inches wide. Like three feet. Yes. I like this strip about three feet. I would like the Tom Selleck as opposed to the Hitler. The Tom Selleck. Okay. Boston Rob is 23 years old, and he's our friend. He's our friend. He is the resident Boston Red Sox wearer and fan of the show. He also screens phone calls. Ashley's 22 years old. She's our assistant producer, blonde girl, and a sweetheart. And our phones are open to you, 570-1053. What a barn burner last night on Monday Night Football, huh? It was the biggest blowout in Monday Night Football history. Really? Yeah. Yep. Oh, goodness. And thankfully, Mike Holmgren, he decided that he was going to go ahead and sit Sean Alexander in the third quarter. Hey, Sean, 50 yards and a couple touchdowns, you're done for the evening, buddy. That's pretty good. Yeah, yeah, that's great. What's better?
If you just would have rushed for a few more yards, Eddie, just a few more yards. 30 more yards to be specific. Why risk that? 30 more yards is all I need. One run he could have taken care of. Why risk that? It was Sean Alexander. Why risk that if, you know, they're division champions. So that. You want to rest your starters in a blowout like that. I have an answer. Oh, okay. You don't sit him so that I can go undefeated in my fantasy football season. Well, that's very selfish of you. On behalf of the other fantasy owners, we are popping corks this morning. Is that right? Celebrating that you are not undefeated. I am not undefeated. That's right. And had I started the Cincinnati defense instead of the Denver defense, we would have tied. What happens when you tie? Goes to the reserve points. Really? Yeah. Which I easily would have won. Well, there you go. LSOB. What are you going to do? Oh, well. and the playoffs start for our fantasy football league this weekend, right? I don't know. I don't think I'm in it. Yeah? I don't think so. You had a good run at the end. Yeah, but it depends, I think, on a few things. I don't even know. Yeah? I don't even know. All right, phone calls. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, can I talk to Mikey, please? You're on the air, bro. You're on the air.
Hey, Mikey, I called the other day. I talked to you about some tickets, and you told me to go in and take care of me, man. Yeah. But I went in and they said, well, you're not 21. We can't give you any tickets. All we can give you is starter tickets. Yeah, I heard about that yesterday late in the show. I laughed my butt off. You're not 21, bro. I mean, it's a 21 and up show. I know, I'm bummed, but can you give me charger tickets now? Well, listen, dude. First of all, you didn't win tickets with me. It's not my responsibility. I understand that. You understand that, right? Of course, you're an intelligent guy, and you understand that I didn't give you those tickets, and therefore, I really have no responsibility to be able to do that for you. I understand, Mike. This sounds like a big scam. Yeah, it kind of does. Dude, you're scamming us, and don't think we don't know it. How is he scamming? First of all, if you won those comedy tickets, you had no chance of winning corn tickets. What show did you win them on?
Rock 105 Mikey Show. No, you didn't. We didn't give away corn tickets, so you're a liar. We didn't give away corn tickets. I won them from Ashley. You're a liar. We didn't give away corn tickets, bro. We didn't give away corn tickets. How did you win them from the Mikey Show? I called in, and Ashley said you're a winner, and she said nothing about being 21. Dude, we don't give away tickets that way. No. We don't give away tickets where people randomly call, and Ashley just decides she's giving something away. The hottest ticket in town right now. Dude, but Mikey, it really happened, dude. I called in, and Ashley gave me... Give me a break. Are you talking about... The comedy store tickets, or are you talking about the corn tickets? Comedy store. Okay, well... Well, then what are you doing? Then you were lying yesterday. You were lying to me. Yeah, you were lying to me yesterday. You said you won corn tickets, came to pick them up, and ended up with comedy tickets. So you're a big, fat liar. Liar. You're a liar. Oh, I hate lying. That's so messed up. And we tried to help this guy. I was still at this moment thinking I was in help mode. Right, right. No. I don't like P1s to be upset. Except when they're... And had Eddie not said that, I never would have even got that he's a liar. Right. Well, now, I mean, it was easy to figure out when now he calls up and goes, oh, but now I didn't get these too. Can I have Chargers tickets? So what he did was...
So he came down, he knew what he had won. Right. And he knew what he hadn't won. Right. And he still came down to the radio station to try to lie. Well, he knows he won the comedy tickets, realized it was 21 and up. So he thought he'd call us, scam us and say, I won corn tickets. What's up with that? And they gave me, which is retarded because when you think about it. He shows up. They give him the comedy store tickets. He doesn't look at the tickets and go, wait, these aren't corn tickets. That's awful. He's a big liar. Don't call him ever again. Thank you. It's horrible. I hate that. Oh, that makes me so mad. I'm a jerk. Speaking of corn, that is, in fact, the Rock Before Christmas. That's what it's called, right? We call it the Rock Before Christmas. I think we're calling it that this year. Are we calling it the Rock Before Christmas? Yep. Why not? It's a Sunday. Are you kidding me? I'm not kidding you. It's this Sunday? You didn't get that memo? Oh, yeah, I'm out of town. Oh, boy, that's too bad. I really wanted to see that show. I really wanted to see that show. I'm in Hawaii. Yeah, I got to go to Hawaii that day. No, you're not going to be there. Just for that day, I got to go there. Yeah, they're doing a Pakaluki Lau thing, and I got to go there and attend it. Jonathan Davis of Korn on The Band Lasting for 10 Years, cut 15.
Well, I had no clue. I just know at the time when we were doing the band, I loved doing what I was doing, and I'd hope it'd last forever. This last 10 years, I'm happy. But we never had any idea it would get like this, you know? He sounds kind of like a homeboy, like he's got some kind of... Like if he called on the request line, I would think that he was kind of a homie. By the way, I got an email, man, that really kind of broke my heart. Again, nothing I can do about it, but... It just kind of was a bummer for this guy. An experience at the Raider game. It happens. You know, what are you going to do? You want to hear this? Yeah, what happened? Mikey, I'm sitting in, let me make it a big second easier to read. Mikey, I'm sitting in P5, row two, seats seven and eight with my fiance. The game starts, and this is, by the way, the Charger Raider game this last weekend. The game starts and I'm surrounded by Raider fans. These guys are gangbanger types sitting in row two.
Not sure if they were gangbangers, but they just had the look and attitude. Anyway, the entire first quarter, they wouldn't sit down. They were standing and challenging every Charger fan that walked by. Elite security finally told them to chill, and they did, until security walked off. They continued to stand and be totally belligerent. My fiancé didn't see any of the first quarter because they wouldn't sit. Seats three through six in my row was a family with two young kids. Why they brought them, I don't know. But nonetheless, they couldn't see either. The parents seemed intimidated and were talking between each other, saying they'd wish that they would sit down. Seats 9 and 10 were friends of the gangbanger wannabes. I finally got the courage to ask politely if they'd sit down. The guy in front of me became angry, telling me to mind my own business, that he paid good money for these seats. His friends quickly jumped in on the bandwagon and started heckling and mocking me.
Elite Security came back over and they sat down. But as soon as Elite walked off, they stood up again and began berating me again. My fiance became frightened and wanted to leave. I told her I was going to go talk to security and point them out. As I stood to walk through the aisle, one of the guys turns around and spits his pumpkin seeds on me. Everyone sees this. I asked him what his problem was. And I didn't notice that San Diego Police Department was coming down the stairs. As I became involved in an argument with one of these thugs, the mother of the children heard the girlfriend of one of these thugs tell the SDPD that I was the one starting the trouble. SDPD raced through the aisle, snatched me up, and walked me up the stairs. The whole crowd around us is yelling at the SDPD, you have the wrong guy.
They're the ones starting the trouble. The police took me up the stairs and told me that I was pointed out as starting the trouble. The father of the kids came up and was trying to explain to the police what had occurred and they refused to listen. They told the father to return to his seat or he'd be thrown out as well. Of course, he walked off, but he turned around and apologized to me and reiterated loudly so that the police could hear that I wasn't the one who had been causing the trouble. As a result, I was thrown out of the stadium during the second quarter. My fiance was happy. She wasn't enjoying herself. I don't really understand that sentence. My fiance was happy. That they got thrown out because she wanted to leave from the beginning with these thugs. Yeah, right. Okay, I get it. I get it. My fiance was happy. She wasn't enjoying herself. Okay. I, however, was upset. I had been looking forward to enjoying the game. Anyway, just wanted to express my experience. And if you talk about this on the air, please say thank you to the family who was sitting that day.
In P5, row three, seats four, five, and six. I hope things changed after I left and the children were able to enjoy the game. What an experience. And you see this, I mean, it's not just the Charger Raider game. It's at any game. And you can find that at any given game. You want to hear something from the other side? Go ahead, Eddie. I got an email from P1Debra that says, Dear Oracle, I write to you just after attending the Chargers Raiders game. I've lived in San Diego for the past 10 years. However, I'm ashamed to admit it. You see, I am a Raiders fan. And she says, don't blame me. It's my husband's fault. Anyhow. I went to the game expecting the Raiders to lose. I accept that. Clearly the Chargers are on a roll and the Raiders just suck. While in attendance my husband and I witnessed a young Raiders fan get arrested for no apparent reason. He was not loud and obnoxious. He was not causing a scene. He was not even swearing in front of young Chargers fans. As the police officer pulled this man away in handcuffs the officer also decided to arrest my friend for no reason. My friend was not cussing. He was not yelling. He was not causing a scene in any way. He just so happened to be wearing a Raiders
gear and happened to be near the end of the row. My friend went willingly on his own accord. He allowed himself to be handcuffed in front of the entire section and be escorted out of the section by overzealous police officers. A few moments later, up and out of sight of onlookers, the officer let my friend go. And so basically she goes on to say that just because they're Raider fans, they got harassed and in trouble. It's hard for me to believe that The cops walk through the crowd, look for people in Raider jerseys, and arrest them for no reason. I don't know. Something about that particular email screams, I wonder what you're not telling us. Because you know who doesn't get arrested at those games? People minding their own business. People not, you know, I don't know. But that one guy in your email was trying to mind his own business. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, this was a case of he did that. It makes sense to me if in this email that this woman just wrote to Eddie, she said, people pointed my friend out as a troublemaker. Okay, it sucks, but I get it. What I don't get is a guy sitting there, minding his own business, not doing a thing wrong, and the cops walk right up to him and go, you know what, you're under arrest. I wonder what you're not telling us. But anyway.
What else we got? Yesterday, the new mayor of San Diego was sworn in. Dick, not Dick Murphy. He's gone. Right. Colonel Sanders, the colonel. Jerry Sanders was sworn in yesterday. And his first order of business was to restore the slogan, America's finest city to San Diego. Awesome. That's funny. Yeah, he says, you know, he thinks that the people who live here still believe. Well, sure. That it's America's finest city and that, you know, we deserve that title. And just because a handful of dirty politicians kind of tarnished our city doesn't mean that the whole, you know, population should suffer. I think it's pretty clear that the mayor or somebody in the mayor's office listens to the Mikey show and heard that we don't, you know. The one person that did that doesn't represent the city, and he obviously decided that's what he's going to do. But you know what's kind of crappy is, you know how on the NBC 739 News, they always, like, do little polls, web polls? Yeah. So last night their web poll was, do you believe San Diego is America's finest city? And 49% said yes. 51% said no. You know why? Why? Because so many people that live here aren't from here. That's what I think.
They think that they're a stupid city that they're choosing not to live in. Their hometown. Yeah, their hometown that they're choosing not to live in. It just so happens that the town that I moved out of I think is a big turd. The town that I grew up in I think is a turd. Gilroy, California, especially has turned into a turd. So I have no affinity for that place. My parents moved out of it. I'll never see it again. I'll never see it again. I have no reason in the world to return to that city. Eddie grew up there too, but he likes it. But my guess is there are so many transplants that live here that they all claim some sort of affinity of the place that they left. But this is America's finest city. There's no doubt about it. This place, it rules. All right. Like, I miss the Bay Area and have an affinity for that place because that's where I was born. I grew up. I love the redwood trees. But I will admit San Diego is America's finest city.
Yeah, it doesn't have redwood trees, but redwood trees doesn't make a place a finest city. I'm telling you. It's a whole bunch of different things. And I mean this so sincerely, man. There is no other city that I've lived in. And I've lived in a lot of places because I've been fired so many times in radio that I've lived in a lot of places. And I'm going to tell you that there is no other city that I've ever lived in where I actually thought to myself driving around in the city. Wow, I'm really lucky. And I think that all the time in San Diego. Like, if you're ever driving west on the 8, going towards the beaches, and you're going downtown, and so you get off on the Rosecrans, get onto the 5 South thing, if you look over to your right, you see the skyline. And if it's a clear day... F me if that's not the most beautiful city in America. It's just gorgeous. It's just gorgeous. You know what's awesome is like if you go over to Coronado, they have this Italian restaurant that I love, Il Frenayo. It's kind of like a chain, but it's bomb. And it's right there on the water in Coronado. So they have a patio where you can eat outside and you look across.
across the water to the scape of the city, the skyline. You got to tell me where that is. Oh, dude. Like I'd never had been there before and I was there with my girlfriend. I'm like, this is the most beautiful place in the world. Can we just live here on this patio? Forget it. It's so beautiful. Especially somebody like my wife who was, you know, raised here. She moved here when she was like 18 months old, I think. So she's only grown up in San Diego. You have to leave San Diego to kind of go, oh yeah. You know what I mean? If you grow up here, you take it for granted how really amazing the place it is. It's like you're living on vacation. Yep. You're like vacationing every day. That is the truth. That is the truth. I remember the first day when we moved back here from the Bay Area last June, Shauna wanted us to all meet up at Gordon Biersch, I think, in La Jolla. Carl Strauss. Carl Strauss. Oh, yeah. And as we were coming over that mountain, going into La Jolla,
The sun was setting, and you saw the ocean, and I was like, this is like being on vacation. I remember that specific moment. Yeah, yeah. I mean, just nuts. All right. Enough kissing your ass, San Diego. Okay, we get it. You're pretty. Yeah, I'm so hot. Look at me. I'm San Diego. I'm so pretty. Do you wish you could be as popular as me? Oh, look. I'm so gorgeous. Mikey Show. Hey, I went to talk to Mikey. This is P1 Ryan. Hey, man, go ahead. Hey, I just wanted to know, you were saying how San Diego's America's finest city? Yeah. What about all the traffic? That's about the worst thing I can't stand about San Diego. What are you going to do, dude, when you got a place that a lot of people like, a lot of people want to be there? The traffic sucks. There's no doubt about it. The traffic here sucks. But you know what, man? I don't know what we're going to do about it unless we can make cars fly. So we do that. I don't know what we're going to do about it. Well, and if it wasn't America's finest city, we wouldn't have traffic like this. Right, right. People wouldn't want to be here. I guess you're right without that.
I mean, seriously, I don't know what the solution is. All right. Anyway, I got to go, dude. Thank you for the call. I got to go because we got a break. I'm late already. You know, what do we do? Start at 3 a.m. so I'm not late at 6.30? How do we do it to stay on time? I don't know how. All right. Rodney Carrington's on the show today. He's really funny. I know his TV show's not, but he is funny, man. You watch that TV show, you're going to want to put a gun in your mouth. But if you ever see a stand-up, he's funny. funny man and he's a good guy and i'll promote his show for him because i like him and i've liked him for a long time so rodney carrington is going to be on the show today a really interesting topic that came up uh between my wife and her girlfriends last night that i would love to talk to you about and the biggest thing of all and i and i'm telling you i want you to stop your own personal mental presses right now in less than a half an hour We are going to make an announcement that we have purposefully held back, which you have no idea how hard that was. We have not told you something gigantic. And it's something gigantic for The Mikey Show. And it's, I mean, it's, you're going to flip out and be really happy and stoked when I tell you what I'm going to tell you. I'm going to tell you that at 6.50, big announcement of something that's happening. Speaking of Rodney Carrington, he's in the stand-up spotlight.
what it is when you turn 50, you forget to put on like underwear. Fashion's not an issue to you. You don't give how you look. It's all about comfort and how you feel. Daddy, where you going in that dress? I'm on my other yard. You look silly. I feel good. Christmas dinner, whole family was over there. He come out on the back porch, all the kids running around. He had a pair of shorts on, bowl of green bean casserole. Sit down in the lawn chair, one of his boys hanging right out of his shorts. Bigger than wife saw it first. This is a true story. She went, hell, I thought she was choking. Went over there to give her the Hamlet, looked over her shoulder and went, Jesus Christ. I don't know about you boys, but when I got a n*** out of my drawers, I pretty much know it. I feel the wind. I push it in. So did he, and the other one rolled out the other side. She'd call an overachiever. More of an under-attainer. Unruh.

Isn't the Village Voice a gay magazine? I don't know. Isn't that the deal? Does anybody know if the Village Voice is a gay magazine? I believe it is. Because they got something on Brittany and Kevin. I'll tell you what it is in a second. Now it's time for Mikey Sports with... This sports update is brought to you by Sports Chalet. The Tom Kraft era is over at SDSU. The Aztecs will be looking for a new head football coach as they fire Kraft after four seasons with a record of 19-29. The Aztecs finished 5-7 this season, and they never had more than six wins during Kraft's tenure.
Some big names being discussed are former 49ers head coach Dennis Erickson, former Cardinals head coach Dave McGinnis, and former Colorado coach Rick Neuheisel. SDSU athletic director Jeff Schimmel says they aren't sure who will be yet. We will look at everyone. As I said before, I think head coaches, assistant coaches, clearly we will look for somebody with great success in their background. I hope it is a big name. Yeah. Finally, get somebody in here, restore prominence to this university. I mean, they deserve it. They deserve it because when you think about it, think of all of the big, gigantic NFL football players that have come from San Diego, just the city of San Diego. Yeah, recruiting would be huge. Yeah. I mean, we have so many great players that come out of San Diego, and none of them go to state. And it's a bummer. Can you imagine Reggie Bush if he would have decided to stay home? Yeah. and play for State, that would have been unbelievable. Alex Smith, those guys, there's tons of names. It's disappointing, and hopefully one of the big names will sign here, and that will help recruiting a lot.
Monday Night Football last night was a laugher. The Seahawks blew past the Eagles 42-0. It was the worst shutout loss on Monday Night Football ever and tied the most lopsided loss since Monday Night Football began in 1970. Seattle led 35-0 by halftime and were pulling their starters by the third quarter. It was pretty brutal. Roger Clemens says he still hasn't decided whether or not he will pitch next season, and his agent says if he had to decide today, Roger would retire. Holy cow. Yeah. It doesn't look like Clemens will be coming back next year, but who knows? Maybe if he gets $20 million a year or whatever they're talking about, then he probably will. Hey, Eddie, what do you think of that international baseball thing? I don't know. They're making a huge deal about it, and it's like I don't really get it. As a season ticket holder at Petco, I got this thing that's offering me. tickets to, you know, you could buy tickets. I'm like, who cares? Like, I have zero interest in going to that. Well, you're going to change your mind. There's big names. Huge names. Yeah, yeah. It's going to be one of the only times you get to see, you know, like Miguel Tejada and Vlad Guerrero, David Ortiz, you know, all, I mean, huge names in this thing. So, I mean, I'll definitely go. Yeah? Oh, hell yeah.
I mean, it's going to be awesome. Yeah. You know, Barry Bonds and, you know, everybody, all these big names are playing in it. I just don't get, like, why. That was my deal. I was like, well, what's my vested interest as a fan? I don't really care. Yeah. You just want to see him hit a baseball. Yeah, I just want to see the players. All right. So it sounds pretty cool. The top free agent left in baseball may have a new home. A.J. Burnett moved closer to agreeing to a five-year, $55 million free agent contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. And that's a look at sports. Okay, again, before 7 o'clock, in about anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes from now, I'm going to be making a big announcement about something. And I'm going to tell you right now, if you're a fan of the Mikey Show, that's going to make you real happy. If you're a new fan of the Mikey Show, I think it'll make you real happy. And you need to call friends of yours right now and go, hey, listen to what they're going to say. They're going to do something. I don't know what. This beaner has up his sleeve, but they're going to do something. You've got to be listening. It's a big thing that we're going to be telling you about. I want to say thank you to Mangia Benny. Mangia Benny. Is that how you pronounce it? Yeah. Mangia Benny. Thank you to Lenny Donato, Italian restaurant. Some really great food that we had, and they're just really great folks and delicious food. Where are they located? They're in El Cajon.
Yeah, 221 East Main Street in El Cajon. Really good stuff. It's a great restaurant. It's kind of a hidden gem. I mean, it's right on Main Street, so people in El Cajon know about it. But if you don't know this restaurant, it's awesome. The atmosphere is great. It's just a great Italian restaurant. Mangia bene. And the food is phenomenal. It's a place that has bruschetta on the menu, which I like. A lot of times I go to an Italian restaurant, and a lot of places do fufu Italian. And so I can't get like staples. I like to be going to a place, get spaghetti. You know, I like to go in a place, get the bruschetta. I like the staples. And this place is good for that, man. They got good, good stuff. So go check them out. We'd like to give you stuff that we found and we like, like tell you about it. Okay. So if you've been watching TV lately and there's a part of you that's abroad like me and you're really into gossip and stuff.
They're saying that Britney Spears kicked Kevin Federline out of the house. Yeah, that's all the rumors that they're on the fast track to divorce and he just wants to party and she has to stay home with the baby all the time. Well, give me a break because we know from Kevin Federline's experience once the baby comes, even before the baby comes, he don't want anything to do with that. Right. He was hooking up with Britney Spears when his previous girlfriend was pregnant with their second child. What exactly made Britney Spears think it was going to be different because it was her? I'm not sure. Give me a break, Britney. Cut 11. So many people about it, and the obvious thing for me to do would be not to do that, if you like the person. So I kind of was playing reverse psychology. I don't like you, so I'm going to ask you about marriage, you know. So I think that's why I probably did all that, which really screwed me because I ended up falling for him even more. Love, it is what it is. You don't need a certificate telling you that you love somebody. You don't need to make me feel like, oh, I'm closer to her or I'm closer to this person. It's not like that. Love, it is what it is. It's everything. You don't need a baby to make you want to split. You could just split.
But a baby helps for me. You know, like if a baby is involved, it's easier for me to just be like later. Oh, my gosh. So, yeah. We don't know why or what's going on, but apparently he's out. And why are they talking to the people from the Village Voice about it? Did you see some of that? Like, what do, maybe they have an inside scoop or something? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where's the Village Voice stuff? It's four and five. Let's hear some of this. Let's see. Michael Musto. Oh, he's super gay. Oh, is he? Yeah, Michael Musto. Eddie, you know who that is, right? No. Yeah, Michael Musto's super gay. This is him talking about why it took so long for Britney to realize what a loser Kevin is. Cut four. The woman is not a Rhodes Scholar. She's the one who, in concert, walks away from playing the piano while the piano's still playing, okay? Yeah, it's a shock that, oh, he was using her for parties. The shock, only shock here, is that this lasted longer than that weekend wedding she had to that other guy. This woman's had two divorces by, what is it, 12 years old? She has Drew Barrymore beat. I mean, her kid is going to have more last names than Maddox, Pitt, Jolie, or whatever, but I'm foreshadowing her.
That's funny. Wow. I do like hearing gay guys talk about, like, Hollywood gossip. Yeah, man. It's the only way to go. Yeah. They're the best. We should have P1 Chase do all our entertainment stuff. P1 Gay Chase. Let me tell you something, Mikey. Oh, that's funny. This is more from Michael Musta speculating on whether or not there's any more dumb celebrities than Kevin Federline that she'll be able to bed. Cut five. There are so many available women. There's Jennifer Aniston. There's Jessica Simpson. There's Clay Aiken. There's Angelina Jolie in six weeks. And all of them will enable Kevin to go to more parties and to pursue his career as the third worst white rapper in history after Vanilla Ice and Eminem in that order. That's funny. Wow. Insulting. Yeah. How rude to Eminem. Yeah, I know. I mean, Eminem's talented. He's a success, Michael. Hey, so was Vanilla Ice in his day. Well, in the day. That's right, that ice ice baby was huge. Yeah, too cold, man. I can't wait anymore. We've got to take a break so I can come back and tell you what I want to tell you about. We'll be right back. He's out of his mind. Feel free to leave a message. Mikey. You're right.

Cut number nine on the best of the, pretty sure it's the best of the Mikey show CD available now at Mikey show.com is our discussion of the second chance prom. Sean hates it when we make fun of him for loving eighties music until we came up with this great idea and you can hear it on this CD. Cut number 10, Ashley getting fooled. by the guy that called in and said that he was a woman and got through our phone screener. The best phone screener that AJ's Playhouse has ever had, by the way. That's right, okay? No question. That's right. And cut number 11, you've wanted it, and I have not made it available to you. It is available now on the CD only. The sky's a beating song. I don't think people really need it. Oh, yeah, they do. It is a democracy, and you've been outvoted. That's right. Stupid. I'm talking about this one. Hey. I think everybody understands what song you're talking about. Oh, hello. I don't think you need to play it here. I think you get it. Okay? Hello. All right. You know that song? I think we get it. That song is available on the Best of the Mikey Show CD. All right. Yeah.

Hey, you know, honestly, there's limited supply. No, no, no. This is very... I said that to be funny. I'm going to be really honest with you. I had a very low amount of these printed, and that's the truth. When they're gone, they're gone. And this whole thing about, oh, my goodness, I live in, you know, Minnesota. You can have it, but get it on the website because there's not going to be any of this.
business about getting it later. When it's gone, it's gone. And there's so many people we have that listen around the country online, up in the Bay, in Australia, wherever. This is your chance to get the best of CD. That's right. And for those of you living in San Diego, this is the way to do it. Mikey Show, hello. Mikey Show, hello. I got a question. Are you guys going to post up that Kip song on your website, or is there any way to get a hold of it? People have been writing me about that, too. That doesn't belong to me. I didn't, you know, I didn't do it. I didn't write it. I didn't produce it. I didn't have anything to do with it. So I can play it here on the show, but I don't own it. So I can't sell it. Basically what I'm trying to do. And I can't put it on a website. It doesn't belong to me, bro. You can Google it. I'm sure you can find it if you just Google like Kip, Love Technology or whatever. What's it called? I don't know. Just a little Kip. Oh, just a little Kip. It's called just a little Kip.
And I think you can get it at suburbanhomeboy.com. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The guy's got a website, suburbanhomeboy.com. So check that out. You guys are awesome. Thanks. Thank you. Right now is our moment, sir. Don't spoil it. Thank you. This is our moment. For goodness sake. P1 Brady. Yeah, Mikey, what's happening? Go ahead. Hey, I have a truck from L.A. County every day down here. Yeah. And I don't have the internet. Okay, this is another thing that I don't want to hear of, and I'll tell you why. It is 2005. If you don't own a computer, you can get to one. Right. I mean, I'm not telling you you've got to go buy one, but, dude, you can get to Kinko's. I mean, they got them everywhere. You probably know someone. The library, you know somebody. Right. You know, that's the reason you could do it this way. But I will say this. We are going to do. a signing at some point where we will go autograph the CDs. And so at that point, we will sell some at that location that has yet to be determined. And most time, I go all throughout San Diego County. I start out in North County. I work my way south. Okay. By the time you guys do that stuff, I'm either gone or back up to home in L.A. County. Bro.
Or I'm not even close. What can I... I mean, I don't know what more I can do for you. Can we drive to your house in L.A.? I mean, short of doing that, I don't know what I can do. Well, it's perfect for you then. When you lose us, you can put the CD in and you get the bits right there. That's right. But you've got to get the CD. Well, he has to get it. I want the beating song. Dude, you can get the beat. The beating song is yours to own now. Along with some of the greatest bits we've done for the last year and a half. Oh, I've been listening every morning. You guys make my money. You go buy it quickly. Thank you. It must now. Thank you, bro. I want you to get the best of the Mikey shows CD. It's called Pretty Sure. Yeah, I love that. Pretty Sure. Pretty Sure. Pretty Sure. So, Ashley and Skye, I see your billboard, and you two are hot. Thank you. That's right. We pose long and hard for that billboard. Well, that's not either one of you guys. That's not Sky or Ashley. Those are bikini models. And that guy in the middle is not me. But I worked out for a long time. Creative people did think that, though. Let's work on that.
How long does it take Boston Rob to screen one phone call? He's been on that line, too, for 100 years. What's going on? A short story told to me. Well, why are you listening to the whole thing? To cut them off and tell them to get to their point or forget it. I'm the phone screen expert. Do you know that she was the best phone screener AJ's Playhouse has ever had? Thank you, Mikey. How did we steal her? I know it. We can meet after the show. I can tell you, you know, you got to cut them off and say, listen, get right to your point. Are you kidding me? Am I really hearing this right now? Mikey's show, hello. Cut her off. I wanted to compliment you guys because when I was listening to the playlist, I wasn't sure if I wanted it or not until I heard Eddie Stalker is going to be on there. That's right. That's the dumbest thing on there. That's right. Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. We were listening back to the stuff that's going to be on the CD and I'm telling you, I was laughing so hard. I had tears coming out of my eyes. Nice. You want the tears to come out of my eyes? This is the funniest freaking CD. This is the funniest best of CD ever. I'm so excited. All right. Are you going to go buy it today? I'm going as soon as I get to work if I ever get out of traffic. Get it? Because when it's gone, it's gone. And I'm not kidding about that. I'm not. I'm not saying that to sell more. I'm telling you the freaking truth.
And I'll tell you another thing. The reason that I did it that way is because I put the dough up for this. Rock 105 didn't pay for it, so I didn't want to do a gabillion of them. I said, let's do a limited amount and sell them out. And we will. They'll be gone. It's like your Christmas present to the P1s. Thank you. Wow. We love you. You are eloquent. There you go. We got to take a break. I'm going to be reminded. Tell the P1s, man. Dude, I can't wait. I'm going to buy one for all my family members. There you go. They're going to love it. It's perfect. There you go. I don't know how many shopping days we got left until Christmas, but it's a perfect thing. Get on it now. There you go. We'll be back. It's the Mikey Show. He's short and irritating. I mean, we've had it down to here with him. Please welcome to the microphone. Mikey. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Center. And North 805 out of the South Bay, struggling now out of Chula Vista up towards Plaza Boulevard. Heavy again from the 94 connector in the North Park and a watch for the brake lights developing already out of Kearney Mesa heading up over to 52. P1s don't mess around, man. Yeah, they don't. They're going fast. They are going fast. And when they're done, they're done. All right, I got an email here. I want to see what you guys think of this. It says, hey, Mikey, what's up? Love the show, and I'm a loyal P1. I wanted to get your take on an issue I'm dealing with at home this year. I'm in the Marines and don't even want to spend time at home this year. My sister is a total beating.
She doesn't believe in the war and protests it every chance she gets. Sky, I didn't know that your brother was in the Marines. Well, he's not. She doesn't have a brother. Well, I do have a brother, Eddie. You've met him multiple times, but no, he is not in the Marines. Anyhoo, he goes on to say, it really hurts me being that I am over there fighting for her and her rights and she won't even support her own brother. How will she feel if I don't come back? She says that's why she's against it. But she won't see my point. Can you help me figure out what to do? Right now, I don't even want to see her for Christmas. Thanks and love the show. Signed, P1BigMac. And, you know, what do you do? She's your sister. You know, she loves you. She obviously feels a certain way. You explain your side of the story. You feel like you're over there and you should be doing your part for your country. And you are.
and truly what you do is none of her business. It's what you've decided you're going to do for yourself, for your country, you know? Eddie, what do you think? Well, I mean, it's pretty sad, you know, that she feels strongly enough to do that, and her brother... is putting his life on the line and she should support that and you might not support the war but she should support her brother and it doesn't sound like she's doing that and that sucks to me sky um this is this woman's opinion she has every right to go out and protest and say whatever she wants like if i were the brother i would say to her hey you know i understand You know, if you want to talk about the war, let's make like a time to talk about the war. But this is like Christmas. Let's not talk about it today. You know what I mean? And make some sort of understanding. So, yes, his sister can express how she feels and she can have her own views. But at the same time, it doesn't like ruin a holiday. You know what I mean? Right. That's how I feel. Sean, what do you think? I feel a lot like Sky does, you know. I mean, I don't think that, you know, because people have different political points of view that they should.
necessarily be hurt by each other and i don't think that's the intent yeah but you guys have to understand this guy doesn't feel support from his sister and he's over there and he feels like hey look if i die how are you gonna feel you know if if you're out there protesting well and that's what He said her response was that she's protesting so he can come home and his life maybe wouldn't be on the line. That's his job. That's what he's there to do. Then that's his choice. And if you join that, then you have to understand you're going to be open to criticism. To me, I can't even believe that you would have a sister that would not be proud of her brother. Well, who says she's not proud? No one said that she wasn't proud of him. It doesn't sound like it. She's giving him a hard time. She's protesting what he's doing. She's protesting what he's doing. How do you think that makes him feel? He says it makes him feel bad. Well, that sucks, and he should have a discussion with her about it, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't support him or love him. P1 Josh, what do you think? I think that his sister, that's her right to...
That's her right to protest the war. That's what he's giving her. I'm in the Marines, too. It doesn't make me happy that people protest it, but that's why I go and fight for this country so that everybody can be allowed to do that. Josh, what does your family think? My family supports me 100% in what I do. They don't like me to go back over there. Turn that radio off, bro, please. Sorry, I didn't know it was up. I can hear it. But, yeah, man, I mean... How would you feel if they were against it and they were against you being over there? It would upset me, but at the same time, that's why we go over there. We go over there to keep this country free so that everybody can have their own opinions. Bravo to you, sir. I don't disagree. I agree with you. I don't disagree with him. So just because the person's a sister, she's not allowed to have an opinion? I think because she's, I think you expect it from, you know. A bunch of liberals that are going to protest it, but you don't expect it from your own family. So a family member's not allowed to be a liberal or a Democrat? No. What it sounds like, this guy, I mean, he obviously is upset enough to write into the show. Right. And it sounds like, you know, that she is pretty staunch in her beliefs. Oh, you say she's a beating about it. Yeah. And it hurts his feelings.
Because he feels like, hey, look, you should be supporting me. And that's why I suggested that she shouldn't beat him over the head with it. But in her free time, she can protest as much as she wants, go to meetings, make pamphlets. But in the holidays, family time, they shouldn't even talk politics or the war. I agree with that. P1 Justin. Yeah, the way it sounds to me that this guy feels is like he feels that his sister doesn't support him at all. And the thing is, I'm a Marine. What gets you through from one day to the next and even minute by minute is, you know, knowing that your family's behind you all the way. Yeah, I mean, I wonder how it would feel to be over there and be lonely and be, you know, shot at by the enemy. And your own family is against your cause. Yeah. I mean, that would just, I think that would rip your heart out. I don't think it's his cause. I mean, he's working for the government. It's the government's cause. Yeah, he's doing a job. It's not his cause. I think that the majority, I think that the majority of those guys, Skye, are over there fighting a cause that they believe in. But you can't, you can't say they all are. I mean. I think, yeah, I think I can. I think we'd be real hard pressed to find a Marine to call us right now and say, yeah, man, I'm against it, but it's my job. F that.
That's a bunch of BS. Oh, there's definitely people out there. Yeah, there's a lot of people. Absolutely. We see them on the news. Yeah. Yeah, well, I don't. I've never seen them on the news. Oh. Well, I have. I've never seen Marines that are over there fighting right now that say, yeah, I'm against this, but I'm just working for the government. What about the people who go and they don't want to go back? And they go to, you know, crazy lengths not to go back. Yeah. There's plenty of people out there. What are you talking about specifically? What do you mean? What are you talking about? Like people who will get arrested because, you know, they come home for leave or whatever and then they have to go back in a month and they don't want to go back. Yeah, I haven't heard about that. I haven't heard about guys that go and get themselves arrested so they don't go back. Yeah, there was the guy in like Modesto who took a gun and shot up a place because he didn't want to go back. There's guys who refuse to go back and then they're then arrested. That sounds like, well, the first, let's take them case by case. The first one you talked about, somebody shooting up a place. First of all, I didn't hear that, but that sounds like a nut. Didn't you watch the Michael Moore documentary? They had a guy in there who was speaking of the exact same thing. I mean, you see it on the news. That sounds like a nut. The majority of the men and women that are in the armed forces today are fighting a cause that they believe in. Well, but not all of them. Yeah, I guess there are some nuts. You're right. Why do you call them nuts? Somebody in there shooting a place up? That sounds like a nut.
Well, one guy is, and you can't say what it does to your mental state when you go over there. Yeah, I mean, the guy's obviously suffering with some kind of post-traumatic stress because of what he went through there. Okay. He's not a nut. I mean, but listen to the... You guys are naming, like, two or three cases out of the... thousands upon thousands. Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. Well, no, but Sean, realistically, thousands upon thousands of soldiers are over there fighting. But you don't know what they're thinking in their head. I didn't say that the majority of them are against it. But it's not even, it's a slim, tiny minority. You don't know that. You're just saying that. No, you're stating a couple of examples. Right. And I'm saying a couple of examples. Well, we could open up the phone lines to the people that have been over there and say they do support it. P1 Mary is in the same situation with her brother protesting the war. Go ahead, Mary. Yeah, my husband and I are both Marines, and we're both supposed to deploy next year, and my brother's just been having a fit about it. You know, he's just bad-mouthing the president, bad-mouthing, you know, all that kind of stuff. And I think most of it is just him being afraid.
So he's supposed to deploy. See, this is another example of someone who's scheduled to deploy, who doesn't want to go, who doesn't believe in the cause. No, no. Wait a second. Her and her husband are the Marines. Her brother isn't. Oh, I thought her and her brother were scheduled to deploy. I apologize then. Well, I accept. I mean, I don't have a problem with it. I accept your apologies. I accept it warmly. I mean, I don't even accept it as a jerk. I accept it warmly. I do as well. I accept it with almost an embrace to you. Open arms. I love you. An open-armed. You've made an apology, and I open-heartedly say I accept you. No, I don't know that anybody. I'm doing that. I know, but I don't feel that's appropriate. I accept your apology. Really inappropriate. Open legs. To do that. Pretty awkward. Okay. Okay. This is P1 Rocker. Go ahead. This is P1 Rocker. I'm a Marine, and I wanted to say that we all don't support the war itself, but we support the country and the people that we're fighting for. First of all, this is a 10-year-old little boy, so I don't know that there's any way in the world. I don't know that there's any way, but because clearly, Sky, what we've got is a juvenile calling you. I mean, you can hear about this. Sir, say again, what were you saying?
I was saying that if our president sends us, we don't have a choice if we... That person's in the eighth grade, Skye, and I think you can hear that quite clearly, Skye. So just because this person does not support your argument, that means he's a juvenile? I mean, we're getting a hoax calling in like this. No, just because you don't want to hear it, and you want to live in your own little world. Don't discredit other people. I mean, Skye, please. I'm sorry, sir. You're calling a 13-year-old boy, sir. And I don't think that's right. You have to be at least 18 to join the Marie's. It's more awkward than anything. Whatever. You guys are idiots, man. I just wanted to say. Okay. Come on. Come on. P1 Will is on the line. Go ahead, Will. Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's up, man? Hey, man. I'm going to give a shout-out to B-Rob, too. What's up, B-Rob? Awesome. Awesome. That's an awesome shout-out, bro. Thanks, man. Hey, I just wanted to say that, you know, when you're talking about the last thing you want is to be out there and be lonely and not have the support of your family. Yeah. I mean, that's the truth, man. I agree with you 100%, Mikey. You know, the sky's a beating. Like, you know, we're working for the government doing our job, but, you know, we're also out here, you know, putting our you-know-what on the line. It makes a lot of difference. And I don't know if these other guys that are calling in, they're backing them other Marines up.
You know, it's a bunch of crap, man. Thank you for the call. But that's what America's for. You're fighting so people can have different opinions. So don't call their opinions crap. It's not cool. You're calling to be able to disagree with your sister's opinion, I think, is what we're out there fighting for. I think that's what we're... No, he said other Marines calling in that's crap. No, I think it's all about disagreeing with your sister. And no, they're allowed to call in and say whatever they want. No, I agree with that. I agree with you 100%, Sky. People should be able to have their own opinions. Right. Unless, of course, it's your sister and she's hurting your feelings. Oh, my God. 570-1053 is our phone number. Oh, man. You want to call in about this? Personally, yeah. I mean, gosh, darn. That guy's right, man. You're out there fighting. You're thinking about your family back home. You got to think of a sister that, you know. Can't stand the cause. All you want is her support. But do you think that this sister... You say she's a beating. Well, yeah. She's probably always been a beating. My brother knows what to expect from me at all times. Are you admitting that you're a beating? Is this an admonition right now of you being a beating? I mean, what? Hang on a second. Stop everything. Stop the best of CD presses. We need to put this on there. This is a best of moment.
Sky said she's a beating. She's a beating. Sky's demanding the beating song. No, I'm not demanding. Holy cow. Oh, excuse me. She just demanded it. You demanded it. She just demanded the beating song. No. She said, my brother knows I am a beating. No, my brother believes I'm a beating just like you guys do. So if you were to ask him. Hello, super bitch. Holy cow. Hello. Oh, hello. Stop it. Make it hard for me. Hear what I was saying? We heard it. No, it's not you. It's like you guys and my brother, you guys think I'm eating because you're my older brother. Yeah, and you said your brother thinks you're eating. And you know it, and you admit it, and you say it. This guy ruins everything. He doesn't make it true just because he thinks it.
Do you know how furious I am that the CD went on, the best of the Mikey Show CD, pretty sure, went on sale, available right now for $14.99 at MikeyShow.com, went on sale before Sky admitted she was a beating right here on the air. You just admitted right here on the air that you're a beating. My brother believes I'm a beating. He knows what to expect, and he knows what he's going to get from me. Yes. A beating. Thank you. Because that's what he expects from me. So you think you're a beating. But you are. No, I don't think that. So you think you're a beating. No, I don't think that. What you're saying, in essence, is... Yes, I don't think that. Hello, my name is Skye. I'm a beating. No, I do not think that. Skye. You guys think that. For the record, you think that you're a beating. No, I do not. Correct? I'm a lovely lady. Lumps. P1 Twisted. Yeah, I just wanted to call Mikey and say that... I went over there for six months, and it was just a job. That's all it was. I wasn't supporting the war. I didn't agree with Bush. I just went over there because it was my job. Is this man crazy, Mikey? Yes, he is clearly out of his mind whacked out. I apologize, sir. This is the first time I've ever agreed with Skye about anything. I wanted to kick myself in the butt. Hey, this ride's getting pretty tough out here this morning. Right now, the westbound 8 is going to back up from Las Coaches to East Main Street and then watch for an injury crash now. Medical crews on the scene here. Westbound 8 to the ramp to the northbound 67. Getting past that out of Cajon Valley, you're looking good until you get to Jackson Drive. Here's the La Mesa from there. It's slow, pretty much solid, all the way to the 805 freeway in Mission Valley.
Westbound 94 now heavier from Federal to the 805 and then again from the 15 connector all the way into downtown. Both the 5 and 805 northbound out of the South Bay struggling out of Chula Vista up to National City on both these freeways. 805 is even tougher though. That extends through North Park in the Mission Valley up towards Murray Ridge. You're up to speed for a bit of a stretch and then back to beginner pushing Balboa for a heavy ride out of Kearney Mesa over the 52. And South Ponset of the 15, still just bumper to bumper from the 78 down to West Bernardo Drive. A watch for more heavy traffic from Camino del Norte now down to that 56 transition. You're the Oracle? Here's Eddie. This sports update is brought to you by NBC. Tom Kraft is done as the head coach of San Diego State. The Aztecs are going to be looking for a new head football coach as they fire Kraft after four seasons with a record of 19 and 29.
He finished this year with a 5-7 record, but athletic director Jeff Schimmel says the record wasn't the reason why he was fired. Well, as I said before, I really tried not to look at wins and losses because I think that would have been unfair to Tom. We lost two games to Ohio State and UCLA, too, for the best teams in this country, and so we tried to look beyond that. Oh, really? You didn't let the record speak for this? So, in other words, if he had gone undefeated, that record wouldn't have had anything to do with it, right? I mean, according to you, you're not looking at the record. So if they were all wins, it wouldn't be a record you would be looking at. You just fire them. It's just interesting also about him saying, you know, well, there was losses to Ohio State and UCLA. Well, yeah, they're on your schedule. Right. If you don't expect to win them, why are they on your schedule? Right. You know? Right. For the money, obviously. You got to play those games, right? Right. So win them. So you're just expecting, oh, well, those are two losses. Right. Get out of here. Come on. Dude, I would love to get a big name in there. Yeah, they're talking about some real big names, including like Steve Mariucci, who's out there, used to coach in college ranks, and Rick Neuheisel, Dennis Erickson, a lot of big names. Yeah. So that'd be great if they were able to do that. Yeah. Somehow I have a feeling they won't.
That's just my opinion. Monday Night Football last night was a bit of a laugher. The Seahawks blew past the Eagles 42-0. It was the worst shutout loss in Monday Night Football ever and tied for the most lopsided loss since Monday Night Football began in 1970. Defense was pretty good with the shutout. They scored three touchdowns themselves. Rookie Lofu Tatapu says... I'm sorry? God bless you. Eddie, what did you say? Which part? They scored three touchdowns or something? No, you were mentioning a person's name, but it sounded like you were sneezing. Rookie Lofu Tatapu. Holy cow. He says the defense did the talking. You know, we just want our player to do the talking, and I think we did. It was evident tonight. A great offense, a lot of weapons, and we just had fun out there. Marquis Tuiasasopo. Dude, come on. What are you doing? What are you doing? He's doing sports here. Listen, I don't name these guys. That's his name. What are you doing over there? Woo! Marquis Tuya Sosopo probably will get his shot as the Oakland Raiders starting quarterback this week. Looks like North Turner is ready to bench Kerry Collins against the Jets this week. Surprised you didn't sprain your tongue. Marquis Tuya Sosopo. How about you? There you go. Congratulations. That's a look at sports. All right. Yeah, apparently Jennifer Aniston.
is really upset about some naked photos that were taken, or topless photos that were taken of her, in her backyard. Wow. Laying out. Hot. What a scumbag of somebody that would take pictures of somebody. You can't lay out in your backyard now? Oh, come on. What happened, Skye? Well, Jennifer Aniston's lawyer has sent a letter to the guy who took the photos and is now obviously trying to sell them at the highest price. And the lawyer, Jennifer Aniston's lawyer, claims that this guy must have used a powerful telephoto lens to be able to get these pictures, which he thinks were taken from almost up to a mile away. Sweet. But according to the photographer, he says he didn't do anything illegal to get these pictures and that he was standing on a public street when he took the pictures. So, you know, if he didn't do anything illegal, there shouldn't be, you know, any problem. You can't take pictures of people on their private property. Isn't that a law? You shouldn't be able to do that. See, I don't know. Is that a law? Because we've seen plenty of pictures. You know what I mean?
People laying out. I mean, maybe, who knows? Maybe they're at hotels when this is happening. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All the pictures I remember seeing of people laying out, they're either on a beach or at their hotel. Okay. If you're in your house, I mean, okay, so let me ask you this. If that's legal, if you have a camera and somebody is walking in their house naked, is that okay? It's their house just as much as their backyard is their house. The backyard's not private property. And I understand that, but playing devil's advocate, if you're clearly visible from a public street... But you're... Didn't you say... Well, he claims that he was on a public street and that that's fine. And he says what they're claiming he did, like taking this picture a mile away, he says that's not even technically possible. He said not even NASA can take a picture like that. So he claims... Well, yeah, NASA can take a picture hundreds of miles away. Yeah. Oh, no, he said it's impossible unless you have equipment from NASA. That's what he said. I got you. So... Well, I'll tell you what he wasn't doing. Right. He wasn't going... Yeah. Oh, look, there's Jennifer Aniston, topless. Oh, I happen to have a camera. I think I'll take a photograph. That's what didn't happen. Right, but... What a scumbag. But in your case, like, say, you know, you do walk in front of your...
window naked. Is that illegal to take a picture of you? I would think so. See, I don't know. If someone is like peering into your window, you can call the police and have them arrested. Yeah, there was a guy that used to live across, I used to live in an apartment in San Jose, and across from me was a strange guy. And I used to videotape him. Highly illegal. What? Highly illegal. Yeah, he used to walk around and talk to himself. And so, and I would tell people about it. And I said, one day I said, I got to videotape this. Because we didn't believe you because these stories were like too much. They were pretty crazy. And so finally I videotaped him and it was highly illegal. And if I ever would have got caught with that tape, which no longer exists, I would have gotten arrested. What is illegal about this? But yeah, that's what I'm going to say. You know for a fact that that's illegal? That, I don't know. Maybe our resident attorney can call us and tell us. Vanessa, call us and tell us what's illegal. I don't think it is because you're on your property. Right. And you're not on his property. If his blinds are open or whatever for everyone to see, you're not doing anything wrong. That is not an invasion of privacy. And in Sean's keeping calm. Sure, it is. That's not against the law, though. I thought invading somebody's privacy is against the law. I don't know. I mean, I thought. I just thought I was doing something so creepy and wrong that it had to be illegal.
Well, in Sean's Peeping Tom example, you're physically on a person's property. Right. And so that could be the difference between legal and illegal. Again, we don't know. I wish somebody would tell us. Yeah. Let's see. This is P1 Sammer is on the line. Are you there? Hey, what's up, Mikey? Hey, go ahead, bro. Hey, you know what? All they really got to do is check the photo out and see what angle that picture was taken. And if the guy is on a public street and if he can say... When he stood and got that angle shot, then he can pretty much say, hey, I was on a public street. But to take a picture of somebody in the backyard, you almost got to, I don't know, you can see their backyard from the street. And you got to think Jennifer Aniston's going to have trees and shrubs and things growing just for her own privacy. Yeah, you would guess. You know what I mean? Thank you very much. Anyway, somebody probably knows the answer to this. I would think that you cannot videotape somebody or take pictures of somebody in their own private living space. That just doesn't seem... It shouldn't be right, but who knows? All right. We'll get some people on the phone with it. I want to take a break because I got another story I want to tell you. We'll be back.

Sean. Be Rizzle. My first CD is going to be called Greatest Hits. And Ashley. For like two seconds, all of a sudden I blacked out. I'm back, though. It's the Mikey Show on Rock 105.3. Welcome back to the show. It is 749. Today we're going to see high temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Carlsbad's 46 right now downtown. It's 47 degrees. Tom Kraft is out at head football coach at San Diego State. We were talking about this thing that happened with...
Jennifer Aniston, where apparently some photographer took pictures of her while she was laying out topless in her backyard. And her lawyer saying, look, we'll sue you. And some people are calling in about that. Although, if we come back to that, we can come back to that. But I have something that came up last night that I thought was really fascinating that I wanted to see what your guys' take on this was. As you know, I flew my wife's two best girlfriends into town. One of our toilets was stopped up, and I had to go get a plunger and whatever and fix the toilet. And as we were driving home, I was with one of the girls. I was with Jamie, and she says, and we got into this conversation about clogging toilets. And, you know, we were talking about, you know, how, first of all, how much TP does one need to use, you know?
When doing that, and I guess that is what will clog it more often than not. But that led to a conversation about overall cleanliness. And Jamie tells me that she uses those little Cottonelle wet wipes. And I said, what are you talking about? I mean, because from what I understand, those are to clean your face, to clean your hands, aren't they? I mean, are they... for the babies, right? Babies? Are they for cleaning babies? Well, they're basically an adult version of a baby wipe. See, I thought they were for babies. I thought they were baby wipes. No, baby wipes are for babies. They're called baby wipes. Cottonelle is for adults. So she says that she uses this thing, that she uses the Cottonelle wipes and then afterwards uses regular TP, which I thought was... a lot of overkill. And we go into the house and we're having this conversation. And my wife's friend, Erica says, oh yeah, I use those too. And both my wife and I are like, really? You guys do? And they both were of the mindset that if you try it one time, that you will never go back to just TP. And we were both, and my wife's, my wife is Miss Clean, man. And so,
I think she's got my wife convinced. And I said, I really, I said, you guys, other than my brother, I got a brother, Steve, who uses those. I see him when he comes over. So other than you guys, I don't know anybody that even does that. And my wife says, no, you don't notice that when your mother comes over, she brings them with her. I said, are you serious? My mom's wiping with the baby wipes? And this guy says, no, they're the adult wipes. I had no idea. Do you guys, does anybody on this show use these wet naps that you use after you eat ribs? Sky, you do? Sky, you use them? Yes. Do you bring them to work? No, no, no, no. You do not? I actually, I appreciate them, but I save them for...
let's say, special occasions. Home invasions? Oh, my. Special occasions? Well, no, not like in the sexual sense, but in the sense that I'm having stomach issues. Oh, I gotcha. Right. I don't know that I even want to know what that's about. Uh-uh. But I can figure it out. Yeah. Well, she for sure leaves the door open. That's right. This guy says she does leave the door open. Well, Sean said he uses them too, so don't just look at me like I'm... Sean, you use them. Yeah. Do you have a process? Well, usually because they're, in my opinion, they're not good enough in their, like, off-the-shelf state. You still have to do one more thing to them. When I get them, I open the box, and I take regular, like, rubbing alcohol, like isopropyl alcohol, and I pour it in the container.
And then I close it back up and I shake it up so that the alcohol, you know, can get on all of the wipes. And that way when you use them, the alcohol helps to dry so you don't have to use TP at all. Unless it gets you a lot cleaner and it's a nice burn afterwards. Okay. What? Yeah, I'm real confused now. I've got to smile from ear to ear. I've never, like, that just seems dangerous and weird and crazy. Well, let's not judge. Let's not judge. I'm saying this is my opinion. I know, but your opinion is, let's not judge in your opinion. Listen, in my opinion, using rubbing alcohol in that fashion seems not only dangerous, but just beyond.
what you need. I would agree with that. It's a little much. There's lots of stuff that has alcohol in it that you use on your body. But there's nothing, Sean, that says on the bottle of alcohol should not be used near an opening or an open sore. You know what I mean? Well... People put isopropyl alcohol on cuts. Oh, okay. See, I don't know. That's why I was asking. So it's okay if it gets in your body. Yes, it is. No, alcohol will not harm you. However, what it will do is it will burn. It clean burn. Oh, my. Sean, is that for real? For real? Yeah, I'm not kidding. It doesn't irritate your skin? No, it feels, I mean, you know, at first. It's like Listerine. It's like rinsing your mouth with Listerine. Yeah. Okay. You know how it burns, but you know it's doing its job, so it feels good. Yeah, because these girls last night were saying you have no idea how fresh you feel. Right. And Skye can attest to this, too. You feel very fresh doing this.
But you only do this at home? And do you not do it all the time at home? You just do it sometimes? Yeah, I don't do it all the time. I don't know. Like, I have an issue. Like, I have to keep them under the sink because, like, I'm scared of when, like, company comes over, they're going to, like, see them and be like, what's going on in this bathroom? Why? I don't know. Because, like, I guess because there's no spot in the actual bathroom, like, for them. Like, you have a... On top of the toilet. In the back, you know, on top. People see that. I'm going to tell you guys right now. I am going to try this because I like to be clean. Yeah, yeah. So I'm going to try this, and I'm not going to hide it. In fact, I'm going to put it on our kitchen counter for people to see when they come in. Stop it. In case they want to try. Stop it. I'll give anything a shot if it keeps you clean. And put a little sign next to it that says, for your number twos. So dumb. Please take one. Eddie, would you be willing to try that? Yeah, I would try it. You know, I'm a little uncomfortable trying it, but... Yeah, it's kind of a shocker at first when you get that. You got to try it with the alcohol chaser. No, no, no, no, no. I will not do that. No. Overload. Okay, I have a question for you, Skye, because I don't know the process. Do you use toilet paper first and then, like, refresh with the wet wipes? See, it sounds like people have a different thing because Mikey was saying that... These girls were extremely clear that if you use the...
The Cottonelle wipes second, it's wet, and you don't want to be wet. Okay, so this is how I go about things. Go ahead. You clean everything up the best you can. With TP. With TP. And then you come back for that last minute, you know, cleansing. See, that's what I would do. And then you do a real quick dry one, too, because it is, like Sean says, it's kind of wet. There's moisture there. So you do a real quick dry wipe after as well, and then you're good. Unless you do what I do. TP. TP. Cottonelle. TP. What over, I mean, what a process of. But if you think about it, you, I mean, that's how you change a baby's diaper. So wouldn't that make sense if you do it when you're older too? I'm going to be honest with you. I don't know how to change a baby's diaper. Okay. I really don't. I don't. That's a whole other issue. I don't know what's going on. I don't know. But when you change a baby's diaper, that would be the same type of procedure. So I guess it would make sense to do it when you're older. I would think that maybe after the wet. You could do, like, a blotting thing where you're... Yeah, I mean, just a real small piece of TP just to get any, you know. Is there ever, like, a hair dryer involved where you're... Um, no. Okay, no. No, no. You can put baby powder. Maybe a bit of baby powder. Oh, that would feel good. Yeah. There are a lot of people calling in. Is this P1 Dojo? Doggo. P1 Doggo. Yeah. You say that you use the wipes as a supplement.
Yeah, kind of like what Sky was saying. You know, you've got to start off with the teepee first, little dry version, get as much off as you can. And then you just do a little bit of the cleanup with, you know, the baby wipes. It helps out. The ladies told me, here's what the ladies told me last night. The ladies told me that if you use the Cottonelle first, it does a superb job of getting everything. See, that's hard for me to imagine. Sean, what do you think about that? Because it's too, it's like too messy. It's like, it's like spilling something and then going to clean it up with a wet rag. You know what I mean? Does that make sense to anybody? Sean? No, I mean, I'm not spilling anything. So it's not, it's not messy back there. I don't know. I can't, I don't even want to talk about this anymore. Oh boy. Sky, I'm very proud of you for opening up. I, like, in my head right now, I'm going, why did I even speak in the first place? No, I mean, apparently a lot of people do this. This is a process for a lot of people. P1 Anna. What's up? This is P1 Anna. I just wanted to call in and let you know that I absolutely swear by baby wipes. I wouldn't wipe any other way. Now, do you use baby wipes or these Cottonelle's? Well, I use baby wipes. I've used Cottonelle, too. They're pretty much the same thing. When I use baby wipes, I just get the unscented ones. I see.
And use those. I see. Yeah. Now, Skye, do you have a preference? Do these cottonells come in unscented and scented? I don't know. I just got one kind, the kind that's in, like, the purple box. So, I don't know. They have, like, a slight... There's going to be a run on these now because now everybody's going to want their bottom to be like Skye's. And they're going to go get the lavender kind of the cottonells. Oh, goodness. I mean, if you swear by that one, that's the one I'll try. Well, that's the only one I've tried. The purple box. P1 Sandy. Yes, I am addicted to these things. They are the best things in the world. Especially as a female, when you're on your cycle. Okay, your cycle. I don't need to know about the cycle. Oh, not the cycle. Please. With the cycle. That's a great point. I do have to agree with Skye. I would say to do the toilet paper first. And my reason is...
Especially if you have the really soft toilet paper, you can get the small segments of, like, the fuzz on you. Yeah. And it's good to get that off also. That's true. It's like an art or something. I'm telling you, people really have a process here. Evidently. Of what they will do. And apparently P1 Jordan has converted two of his friends. Go ahead, Jordan. I've been doing this since high school, using the wipes. And before the flushables came out, it was kind of awkward because you had to put them in the trash can. No, you did not. No, you didn't. Please tell me you didn't do that. No, I totally did, Mikey. I totally did. Well, that's just not sanitary at all. You're a vile, disgusting human being. I mean, that's not sanitary at all.
It is if you take care of it. It is if you take it out, though. What if you wash it? I mean, what are you doing? Putting it in a Ziploc bag? Maybe have a little diaper genie right by the toilet. You can always roll it in TP and then set it in the trash. Sean, have you done it for a long time, too? Sean? Maybe. Sean, did you do it before they were flushable? So what? Oh, foul. You are foul. Oh, for goodness sake. You're a foul. For goodness sake. For goodness sake. Really? Not all the caca germs are floating around in your bathroom? You forgot about those, didn't you, Sean? Now, wait a minute. They're flushable now, Stoop. I know now. Now, P1 Dave. Hey, what's up, Mikey? P1 Dave. You say... Every plumber in San Diego is smiling right now, man. Every plumber in San Diego is smiling? For flushable or not, they're still a lot thicker than toilet paper. And for the old homes or older homes that have roots and the lines, it's like a net. Really? Yeah. We charge about $300 a pop just to go in there and pull them out and then stick a jet down there and jet the lines out. You know, it's funny because the toilet was clogged and I had to go to, you know, get a plunger. And I asked her. I even said to her, I go, now.
Is this the reason that we have clogged toilets right now? And she goes, no. She goes, I don't even, I think she said she didn't have them. I don't remember. You don't have roots yet. It can't get stuck right in the toilet, but often, most times, if you can't get it with a plunger, then it's a serious problem, and they've got to come in, and they have a machine that's called a snake, and it cuts the roots out of the lines. How do roots grow into pipes and not let all the water leak out of the pipes? Well, we're in California. Well, there's sand and stuff in there. We're going to get through anything, man. Unless you have a seamless pipe, they're going to get through anything. With the ground settling, pipes crack. They get old. They separate. Earth moves and stuff. And these roots will go under homes. And like you see on the sidewalks when there's a tree right there, the sidewalk will actually be kicked up. Yeah, they'll push through anything, man. Wow. All right, well, thank you. That's why when you move into your place, Mikey, if you guys are going to do any landscaping, it's real important where you plant trees. People don't realize it, but the roots will bust right through pipes and stuff. I want an avocado tree, so I'm going to put that sucker far from my turlet. That's right. I don't need it near the turlet. P1Bs? Yeah, Mikey, I was calling regarding the guy just said about the roots and everything. Yeah, I used to be a plumber myself.
I know I would charge people $150, $200 to go down their main lines, and I would pull back tons of those baby wipes and all that stuff. So while they say it goes down, it just sits in your pipes. Maybe. That's a problem later on. But don't you think that these people are not using the flushable kind? Well, that's the thing. They're deceiving. It'll say that you can flush them, but what they do is the water flow can't carry them down the pipes out your main line, and they'll sit behind, and they'll just build up slowly over time, and you run into a problem with them. I can't imagine being a plumber. I can't imagine being a plumber. Dude, we moved into this house in the Bay Area. This was probably like a year or so before we moved down here to San Diego. And we were just new in the house. And I ran the washer and everything's backing up. The bathtubs, the sinks, everything. So like these guys said, we had to have the plumbers come out and snake all our drains. Dude, the stuff they were pulling out of those drains. You weren't there, were you? I was. I was home when they were doing it. No way. Yeah, because, you know, we were doing morning. So I got home like at 11 o'clock to let the plumbers in. And the guy goes, oh, ma'am, can you please come outside? Because we'd like to speak to you about something. I walk out there and this guy holds up like a whole stack of used feminine products. No way. And goes, ma'am, you really shouldn't be flushing these. And I'm like.
First of all, I just moved into the house. I don't even want to know who those things belong to at one point. And like you said, who... And what was he trying to do, scold you? Basically. What a jerk. I know, and he's like holding those things, you know, and like you said... He's holding them in his hand? Yeah, well, he had a glove on, but he's holding them by the strings. What a monster. I know. What a monster. Rodney Carrington is going to be on the show, and I want you to go away. Stick around. It's the Mikey Show. We will be back. Even though Greenspan continues to raise short-term rates, long-term mortgage rates still haven't caught up and remain remarkably low. I'm Hayes Barnard, owner of Paramount Equity, and here's how our neighbors are saving money by locking in the rate of a lifetime. You know, I did a lot of shopping, and honestly, no one could believe the 5% rate that I got. I mean, it's so nice to pay off my credit cards and save $400 a month. I'm so happy. I finally get to go car shopping. I saved $3. $360 a month, and I took out $10,000 in cash. I've been in the banking business for many years, and I've never seen a loan turn around this quick. We dropped our rates by 1.5%. We want to do some debt consolidation, and on top of that, we want to do some improvements to the house. So we got all three, everything we wanted. And maybe we could do some cool Mikey Show trivia or something. And here is your question. What is the name of the new Mikey Show?
best of CD. What is it called? I'll take the first person that can correctly answer that, and here's what you will win. A trip for two to Las Vegas to see Rodney Carrington, who's going to be on the show here any second. The trip includes a two-night stay at the Luxor, two tickets to see Rodney, a dinner for two, and VIP entry to Raw. It's the Luxor's exclusive nightclub. Sweet. That's right. No airfare included. I just drive out there. Yeah, so you got to get yourself to Vegas, but that's what you get. Not bad. 570-1053, you got to tell me the name of the new Mikey Show Best-Up CD. Mikey Show, hello, who's this? This is Brian. Brian, what's the name of our new Best-Up CD? You're not a P1. He's got his radio cranked. That is not a P1. No. A P1 turns our radio down, gets to the point, and doesn't cuss. Mikey Show, who's this?
P1 Chris. P1 Chris. What is the name of the new Mikey Show Best FCD? Pretty Sure. You are correct. Nice. It is, in fact, called Pretty Sure. You just got yourself a trip for two to Vegas to see Rodney Carrington. Score. Two-night stay at the Luxor. Couple tickets to see Rodney. Dinner for two. VIP entry to Raw. That's Luxor's new exclusive nightclub. Let me tell you something, dude. Rodney's show is hysterical. Right on. I can't wait. All right, bro. Hang on the line, okay? Cool. Very nice. That's awesome. Is this Rodney Carrington? Good morning, Mike. Hey, there he is. Yeah. Rodney, I've been a fan of yours for so long, man. I love, a lot of people don't know this. Rodney is an incredibly talented singer-songwriter as well. Yeah, and snow cone stand owner. Yeah, that's right. Rodney wrote wonderful Christmas classics like Letter to My Penis. Rodney wrote the great Snowman song. Was it the Snowman song? Some people call it. You know, that turned out to be just a little ditty. Yeah, that's what they call it, the Snowman song. It's the best. And, Rodney, congratulations on the success of your television show. Oh, thank you very much. It's been a lot of fun. That's right. Rodney, where are you from, Rodney?
I grew up in Longview, Texas. There you go. And I live in Oklahoma now, and I have a house here in Los Angeles. I travel back and forth. But when I first came out here last year, I did a big Christmas or a Disney parade for the show. And what was funny was it was me and a bunch of famous people that people actually know, like Dennis Franz, real people that people recognize. So I'm sitting in this car going down the parade route, and people... are literally pointing at me and shrugging their shoulders because they don't know who I am. And I'm doing the same thing back to them. I'm pointing and shrugging like, I don't know either. But, you know, the cool deal was is that the network, I believe it's, well, they own, Disney owns Disney and Disney owns ABC. So we did, we got a deal where we had a guy that got to, we get to walk to the front of every line and my kids kept. saying, God, Dad, this is great. We don't have to wait in line or nothing. And I told him, I said, don't get too cocky because if that show gets thrown off the air, we've got to get back in that damn line again. Yeah, there you go.
But I told that guy, the problem with walking past everybody up in line is that everybody in line hates your guts. I told him, I said, at least they could do is give us a wrench and a flashlight so it looks like we're going up in the front. Now, Rodney, my other question was, when you went to do the television show, obviously the television show is toned down from your act on stage. So a lot of people, I mean, literally millions of people got to know you from the hit show on ABC, Rodney. So when they go see your act, are they surprised? You know, I haven't dealt with that. I feel like most of my fan base was built before the show. And I haven't seen a rise in numbers. I mean, we're still doing, you know, big theaters here around the country and this and that. And, you know, if anything... I'm just picking up new fans along the way. But a stand-up is what got me here, you know, making comedy albums and doing that. But I haven't ran into anybody yet that has come up to me and said, hey, what in the hell are you doing up there? You know, and frankly, a lot of the material that's coming off of, that I'm doing now is stuff that I'm working toward for a new record. And, you know, it's funny because...
people go, God, your act is this or your act is that. But if you look back at all the records, I mean, there's a lot of bits within those records that are PG, you know, that are, you know, this. It's just that I've never edited myself one way or the other or where I go. So, you know, I got a big, long, clean bit about Walmart, and then I got some bit about whatever, you know, like on one album or this or that. You know, it just depends on, I guess, what mood I'm in. I just never limited myself to where I can go or how I express myself, you know. Rodney is right. He does, in fact, have some stuff on Walmart. Went shopping this afternoon, y'all. Bought some underwear. My other ones were filthy as hell. This is cheap to buy them as it is to wash them. You there? Yeah, can you hear this? Yeah, I can hear it. Oh, I hear you. I'm playing it. Oh, my God, that's a man shopping center right there. Get your damn haircut, your taxes done in there. Full service bank, you ought to put a titty bar in there. There you go. It's Rodney's stuff. He's funny, man. Now, Rodney, let me ask you. I noticed on your bio on ABC.com, you give credit to Bob and Tom, John Boy and Billy for playing your stuff as a part of your success. What about me? I've been playing your stuff for years. You know, I haven't known that. I mean, to be honest with you, the...
You know, when I did, I can count one radio station particularly that really kind of catapulted everything. And to be honest with you, radio in general is why I'm where I'm at today. That's cool. I mean, radio in general is, you know, I guess I'm one of the few guys that really utilized it to the degree in which Bob Hope did. Right. But, you know, radio without a doubt is the reason that I'm where I'm at today. I couldn't have done it without it. That's how I built my career. I just remember hearing, and Rodney's stuff, you could still get his CDs are available, and his stand-up act is really funny. I just remember hearing it for the first time and thinking, he's very original. I don't know of anybody that was doing... anything like what Rodney was doing. And the thing is, is that there's a lot of guys that kind of do their version of it now that are successful and that are funny in their own right. Larry the Cable Guy is an example of somebody that does something similar. But as far as I know, and I may be wrong, as far as I know, Rodney was kind of the first guy to do it. Well, you know, I don't know who was first or what was first, but I know Larry, and Larry is a great guy, and I'm really happy for all of his success. I mean, he deserves it.
Him and all those guys. And, you know, the success that the blue-collar guys have had have been great for everybody like me, you know. So I have a, you know, to be, I love doing a television show, you know. I mean, there's, I got a real wife and a fake wife. So I go to work and I'm with the fake wife and then I go home and I listen about it from the real wife. Right. Yeah, what is your real wife? And by the way, how long have you been married? 12 years. So what does the real wife think about you kissing a fake wife? even if it's on television. Well, in the beginning, it was hell. It was like, you know, you think you've done something with your career, and then you realize you've just screwed up your entire personal life. You know, but she's pretty much over it now. I mean, she's, you know, she's met Jennifer, and they get along, and, you know, it's kind of a balancing act. It's it's it's not she doesn't really care anymore one way or the other. Rodney, do you remember sitting at home with her the first time that came on the screen? Yeah. Well, the thing is, my wife kind of told me last year, she's like, you know, I had to come out here in Los Angeles and we still live in Tulsa. So we have my wife and kids are still back there. And she was really having a hard time with it at the time. And we after she had seen the pilotness and that she.
Her response to me was, you know, I told her, I said, honey, you knew this was a possibility. And she goes, yeah, but I didn't actually think it was going to happen. Wow. Wow. But she's cool now. Yeah, she's fine. Hey, by the way, we've got people on the line that love you, want to say hello to you. P1 Leslie, are you there? Leslie. Oh, man, she wanted to tell you that she had used one of your songs in her wedding. Yeah, I get that a lot, oddly. Do you really? Yeah. There's a song called... It's too late, and it's about the perils of getting married and throwing your life away. Right. And a lot of people play that at the wedding. In one of the skits that you do on one of the CDs, you talk about your wife, and it may have been a joke, having a twin sister. Was that a joke? That's not a joke. I actually met my wife in a Holiday Inn lounge about 13 years ago. I met her twin sister first.
I remember telling the bartender, I said, God, that's a good-looking woman. He said, that's my girlfriend. And I said, well, she's pretty. And then about 15 minutes later, her identical twin sister walked in and sat down next to him. And I said, well, hell, there's two of them. And this is a true story about, you know, after about an hour of talking with her and we were kind of drinking and carrying on, I told her I was going to get her pregnant and marry her. I don't know why I said it or what I did. Three months later, she was pregnant, and we were getting married. I had no idea how serious I was. Oh, wow. And now we've got three boys, and that was 12 years ago. And, you know, things change. Yeah, there you go. Well, Rodney's had a lot of success. And have you considered moving your family to Los Angeles? Well, we've considered it. They just haven't considered it. My wife is not, you know, she's not a fan of the big city and how busy it gets, you know. And plus, the kids are so... you know, in tune with everything going on at their school, and they got all their friends and stuff there, and it just was, it's just too tough to, you know, with the, with everything being the way that it is now, but, you know, television is an uncertain business anyway. You know, I mean, I'll always probably have a place out here where I can work and come out and do other things, but at this point in time, we haven't really gotten that far into it, you know. Rodney, what's the biggest venue you've done your comedy at?
Well, I did a show in West Virginia at a big, probably 30,000 people. Holy cow. But that was not my own show, just my own draw, somewhere around five. Now, because you're going to be doing this show at the Luxor, that seems like a pretty big time. I think it's about 2,000 seats. Nice. We did it this past weekend, and we were both at weekends in the first part of December. It's a great room, and it's going to be a lot of fun this weekend. We certainly had a lot of fun Friday and Saturday night. Are you still singing the songs and doing the whole thing? Absolutely, and all the material that I'm doing now is, like I said, going on, is working toward a new record, so none of it is going to be familiar with anybody that's heard the records. I want to get out there, man. I really want to see, you know, where's San Diego? It's a drive. I'm not kidding, man. I really want to go. get together afterwards have a beer that'd be great well i i can't do that part anymore but i uh but i get together with you and i'll have a diet coke you could have a beer absolutely uh that sounds awesome rodney well listen i'm glad for your success i think it's awesome and i hope you have continued success and uh the rodney show is on tuesday nights on abc uh 8 30 preempted uh tonight
Charlie Brown's on tonight. Yeah, Charlie Brown's got his Christmas special on tonight. Can't mess with Charlie Brown. Damn Charlie Brown. And Rodney, by the way, just received a gold record for his album on Capitol, Greatest Hits. Yeah. How about that? Congratulations on that. I did it all selling them out of the trunk of my car. Yeah, there you go. And his Vegas show at the Luxor is this weekend, right? Absolutely. There you go. All right, Rodney, thank you so much for taking the time, man. Mikey, thank you. I really appreciate it. You got it. Have a great day. We'll see you. That's a gentleman. Every time we've talked to him, and I remember, listen, I wanted to get him on so bad. When we first started playing his stuff back in 98, I mean, not only you couldn't get him on the phone, and not because he was a star, he didn't have any people working for him. You couldn't get a hold of him. You know what I mean? I mean, at that point, I think the guy was using walkie-talkies to communicate. But the guy has become extremely popular, and he is funny. Speaking of CDs, we announced it this morning. Gigantic announcement. The Mikey Show, the best of the Mikey Show, pretty sure, is available at MikeyShow.com. The Aztecs will be looking for a new head football coach as they fire Kraft after four seasons with a record of 19-29. Not very good. The Aztecs finished 5-7 this season, and they never had more than six wins during Kraft's tenure. Some big names are being discussed for the replacement of the new head coach. They are former 49ers head coach Dennis Erickson, former Cardinals head coach Dave McGinnis, and former Colorado coach Rick Neuheisel, to name a few. What about former 49er and former Detroit Lion coach Steve Mariucci? I really don't think Mooch would come here, but you never know. They're going to ask, right? Heck yeah, they probably will. Can't hurt to ask. Absolutely. SDSU Athletic Director Jeff Schemmel says they aren't sure who it's going to be. We will look at everyone. As I said before, I think head coaches, assistant coaches. Clearly, we will look for somebody with great success in their background. Well, there you go. We'll see.
Monday Night Football last night was a joke. The Seahawks blew past the Eagles 42-0. It was the worst shutout loss in Monday Night Football ever, and it tied the most lopsided loss since Monday Night Football began in 1970. Seattle led 35-0 by halftime and were pulling the starters by the third quarter. Roger Clemens still hasn't decided whether or not he will pitch next season, and his agent says if he had to decide today, he would retire. So we'll have to wait and see what the Rocket will figure out. And it kind of puts the Astros in a bad position because they don't know what they're going to do yet, if they have Roger or not. So that's kind of awkward. The top free agent left in baseball may have a new home. A.J. Burnett moved closer to agreeing to a five-year, $55 million contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. And that's a look at sports. All right, folks. If you're a fan of the show, it's a pretty big day for you because the... First CD that I've done since 1998, 1998 or 1999, is available today. It's the best of the Mikey Show CD. It's called Pretty Sure. And you can get it right now at MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. And it's just in time for Christmas. And this is a funny CD, and we've put the stuff that you want on it.
I mean, it's almost impossible to find the stuff that we're going to put on there. We had so much to choose from, but we've got some good stuff. Track one, Tough Love with Eddie, one of the best ones we've ever done. The second thing we made available to you, the Ashley has a small bladder song. And so we finally put that down for you. We got one of the funniest elevator dirt bags ever, if not the. funniest elevator dirtbag ever. We've got Sky and Ramsey, track four. Sky and her black manservant Ramsey learning how to communicate with Nextel's. Blah, blah, bleep. All right. How do you do it, Eddie? Shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shlala, shl We've got Boston Rob, the award-winning bit, Eddie. The award-winning bit as track six, the Boston Rob versus the Star Wars Geeks. We won an award for this bit.
It made people laugh so much. And that was the one where they, like, attacked him, huh? Yeah, he gets attacked. And they were, like, chasing him, and he was, like, almost gone to fight. Well, these poor people were standing in line for months. Yeah. And he goes out there and ruins the plot points for him, and they kick his ass. Gave it away with a bullhorn to them. He started giving away plot lines to Revenge of the Sith. It was great. Track seven, one of the funniest Tyrone and Tortillas ever. Track eight. Amy the Eddie Stalker. It was the first time she ever called in. You talk about a moment. You talk about a crazy person. Yeah. I am set. It chills up my spine. It was the first time she called in ever. Eddie Stalker. He's cut eight. The ninth track on Pretty Sure is... The second chance prom. That's right. Now that's good stuff. That is my favorite. That's right. Sean hates it when we make fun of him for his love of 80s music. And so we came up with an idea that we thought would fix that. One of the funniest things ever. That's a nine minute long bit you got on that CD. That's seriously one of the funniest things I think I've ever laughed at. You know, one of the funniest things I think I've ever laughed at, Ashley.
Is cut 10, Ashley getting fooled again. Now that's funny. Yeah. No, that was just cruel is what that was. At the time, Ashley was still our phone screener. We hadn't taken her off that duty yet. Best phone screener ever. Yeah, according to AJ's Playhouse, she's the best phone screener ever. And they are legally retarded. That must be if they believe that. They have doctor's notes to prove it. Shut up. A man called in pretending to be a woman. And Ashley let him through. And then Sean tricks her, I trick her, I call in, Sean calls in. It's one of the funniest moments ever on the Mikey show. That's the one moment you put up of me looking like an idiot? That's right. Well, we had plenty to choose from. Yeah, we had to narrow it down. Those were the only moments we had. We had to narrow it down. And finally, cut 11, I'm pretty sure, is the Skies a Beating song. Wow. I think we should take that one off. Are you kidding me? You don't have requests we get for that. People are going to pay $14.99 for that song alone. Well, it's on the very end of the CD, so we could just drop it off. Oh, sweet. I don't think anyone would notice. Oh, no. So if you want to get it, if you want to get it, you could own the Skies of Beating song for your very own. You just go get the new Best of the Mikey Show CD in time for Christmas. It's called Pretty Sure. When they're gone.
They're gone. You get a limited amount printed. And when we sell them out, we sell them out. And Sean said they are, we put them on sale at 10 minutes to 7 this morning. They're selling. And the only place to buy it as of right now is on MikeyShow.com, right? Yeah, it's the only place you can get it. Okay. I'm sure when they're gone, you're going to start getting them on eBay. But as it is, as it stands right now, think about selling it to iTunes, huh? Yeah, hey. Yeah. Seriously. Mikey Show, hello. Hi, yeah. You guys put out a CD for, oh, is it Tower Records, I guess? Yeah, we put out a benefit thing that had one song on it that we wrote specifically for the benefit. Is there any way to get a hold of one of those? That thing sold out, dude. That's the deal. Our stuff sells out. You got to get it. This is going to sell out. I mean, if you think I'm kidding, I'm not.
When this is sold out, you can't get it anymore. So I invite you to go to MikeyShow.com to get the CD for your very own. Mikey Show, hello. Yeah, I was thinking we need a preview of that beating song just for those who haven't heard it yet. I'll give you a few seconds. I don't think we need any more previews. Good idea, sir. I think he's demanding it, too. How irritated is this guy that now it's going to be on a CD forever? I'll be driving down the 15 and hear this out of someone's car. Great, we get it. Oh, Sky Horrible, Sky Ruins Everything. I want to give people a preview. You know I want to give people a preview. So stupid. I love it. So you got to do it. By the way, another announcement that I wanted to make to you. The Rock Road Trip is sold out.
Already. Yeah, it's sold out already. Just so you know, tickets went on sale at 8 a.m. Like, that's how quick it goes. Sold out in 40 minutes. Oh, yeah. Those are popular. Yeah, that road trip. Those things sell out. People have a good time. Speaking of selling out, those things do not last long, and neither will the best of CDs. So get it for Christmas. Should be a good present. Mikey Show, hello. Hi, I was wondering if you guys could play that Kip song. It's all my boyfriend here, and he hasn't heard it yet, and it's so funny. Yeah, we can do that for you. It's pretty sweet. Thank you. Yeah, you're welcome. A lot of people like that. It's a really good song. It's just a little Kip. Hey, guys. Kip. Yeah, you know Kip. From Napoleon Dynamite. Am I if I spit some lyrics? All the world really needs is a little kip. Not a lot, baby girl, just a little kip. I can show you how to date with a little kip. You can find your soulmate with a little kip. You wanna grow a mustache with a little kip. Train for a cage match with a little kip. Wear some really high socks with a little kip. Take my whole style rocks with a little kip. And I'm coming out just stereo. I need a ride into town. Wanna give me a tow? But make sure we're back early, though. I got a chat room meeting about four or so.
My neck, my wrist, my ears is froze. Cause I made some sweet gula with Uncle Rico. You must have heard about how I roll. So step back, cause I'm getting a little T. And you know I love technology. But not as much as you, you see. When I sit on the couch, I turn it out. Not just with extra cheese. That's what I'm talking about. When you see me on the street, it's high fashion. Cause I rock a polo shirt like no one can. That's right, it's Kip. You thought it was 50? Let's see what happens when you come down here and try and hear me. All the world really needs is a little kip. Not a lot, baby girl, just a little kip. I can show you how to date with a little kip. You can find your soulmate with a little kip. You want to grow a mustache with a little kip. Train for a cage match with a little kip. Wear some really high socks with a little kip. Take my whole style off with a little kip. Peace out. We have to dance like a bunch of retards in here whenever we play that song? Yeah. Let me tell you what I'm excited about. Monday night, Rock 105.3 is doing the premiere of King Kong. I go to that King Kong website, kongisking.net. I'm looking at the trailers. I'm looking at all. That's the sky. You're not interested? Really?
It doesn't look very good to me, to be honest with you. Wow. Holy cow. Yeah. I mean, like, I was all in when I heard Peter Jackson, Jack Black, King Kong. I was all in. But every trailer and preview I see, I'm like, eh, no, I'm good. Cut seven. Well, it's interesting because you, you know, with all the green screens, with all the computer effects, the movie's still about human beings and actors. And you're relying on a great cast to sell the story. The movie's emotional because of the actors. The green screen is great to be able to show amazing things like gorillas and dinosaurs and New York in 1933 and all the great cool stuff in the movie. But, you know, you're always relying on the human beings at the end of the day. Oh, come on, Sky. All those cool special effects are going to be cool, man. And I really dig that. I saw the remake, the 75 remake. It was the first movie I ever saw as a kid. I'd never been to the movie theater before.
It was the first movie I ever saw. And my oldest brother, when I was a child, told me that he was on an expedition and shot King Kong, which I believed. He showed me the bullet that killed King Kong. My dad had an old cannon shell that looked like a real bullet that was shot out of these big giant guns on battleships. And he gave one to my brother, and my brother told me he shot King Kong with it. I believed it. Peter Jackson did The Lord of the Rings. Tell me this movie isn't going to be great. Sky, you love The Lord of the Rings. I did. I'm all in on that, but this... Are you at least going to come to the preview premiere? I don't know. It's free. Well, I wasn't... Yeah, Sky, it's a free movie. I wasn't planning on it. Are all you guys going? Think of it like a lunch. Of course. Yeah, think of it as if it were a lunch.
It's hilarious, Sean. Free lunch. That's hilarious, Sean. Which you love. You love that. I saw where you were going. It's a free movie. That's great. Well, who's buying popcorn? Holy cow. Are you kidding me? I mean, come on. Are you kidding me with that right now? It doesn't stop. It's just a question. You're unreal. Cut six. Well, the 1933 film was the movie that made me want to become a filmmaker. I saw it on TV when I was nine years old. And if I hadn't seen that movie when I was nine, I probably wouldn't become a filmmaker. So it's the beginning for me. Thank goodness you saw it, you New Zealand. Awesome movie dude, you. Did he?
Have gastric bypass or something? No, he just lost all that weight on his own. Whoa, dude. Yeah, I saw him on the news last night. I'm like, who is that guy who sounds like Peter Jackson? I know it, man. Peter Jackson was a tub, and now he's real thin. Is he thin now? Oh, dude. He's lost 100 pounds. It's amazing. You would trip out. Yeah. But you know what? He's still as, like, scruffy and scraggly. Oh, yeah. It's the hair, the beard. Yeah, the beard and the whole thing. Right. Some with movie directors really like to look all scrub... Like they just got pulled out of a donkey's mouth. That's what they all look like. Tim Burton? Yeah. Okay. I don't know what a person pulled out of a donkey's mouth really looks like. Just take a look at Tim Burton or Peter Jackson. You'll get a good idea what somebody would look like if they were pulled out of a donkey's mouth. Oprah got asked if Letterman's going to come on her show now that she came on his. Cut three. It wasn't about... I do you and then you do me. That would be so rude to do that. I thought David Letterman was as gracious a human being as anyone could ever imagine. Why don't you just ask? Let him say no. You did him the biggest favor you possibly could. He beat Leno for a night. Yeah, it was like the best ratings that Letterman has had in a decade. Are you kidding? When Oprah came on the other night. Yeah, I heard it was like three times his normal audience. Yeah.
Because Leno beats him. Yeah, normally he has just over 4 million people tuning in. That night with Oprah, he had 13.5 million viewers. Oh, jeez. Yeah. You know what, Dave? Dang. A doer show. So Mr. Private, you know, Mr. Is he? Oh, but like you wouldn't believe, man. Oh, I never knew that about him. Whole deal on him. Let's see. There is a kid in San Diego. 16 years old, that just won this science competition, and you talk about greetings. Good for him. Well, yeah. I mean, I guess San Diego anointed a future millionaire. Yeah. You know this kid's going to grow up to make...
billions of dollars. Probably, yeah. He won first prize in a premier high school science competition for his new approach to some old math problem that could help them in the design of airplane wings. I mean, are you 16? Dude, go chase some girls, will you? Yeah. You can buy that kid an Xbox for crying out loud. Yeah, I guess he's been homeschooled since the fifth grade, but he currently takes his math classes at UCSD, a 16-year-old. Oh, come on. I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious. I guess. So he won himself a $100,000 college scholarship with that first place science award. Can you imagine? Hey, dude, how about you want a new Mustang or something? Dude. Yeah, well, they say that math problem he worked out of the airplane wings or whatever, he said that he had worked on that for about six months with a professor from UCSD. So you picture this kid in his free time hanging out with a UCSD professor. doing math problems about airplane wings. That's when you're... I mean, you're too smart then. Yeah, the social skills. I wonder if they're as developed as the math skills, you know? But good for him. I'm sure he'll have a great future, and San Diego should be proud to have such smart people. As a parents guy, aren't you kind of, you know, wanting this kid to have a little bit...
more of a normal 16-year-old existence instead of working on math problems. Well, and the kid's been homeschooled since fifth grade. So, you know, I mean, I don't know if I'm a big supporter of homeschooling. I really believe kids need to interact with their peers, you know. My fellow nerds and I will retire to the nerdery with our calculators. That's just me. Eddie, if your kid was that smart, would you say, look, we're going to an Aztecs game, okay? I mean, I think it's real cute that you're working on your mouth problems over at UC. I mean, yeah, I'd want to, but if he's that smart, he's going to make a lot of money, and I'm all for that. There is exploding pens in Southern California high schools. Obviously, somebody is up to no good. Yeah. People are opening up pens, and they're exploding. Yeah. You got to be careful. I guess there were two instances in. This week, both of them in El Monte, California, but they say, you know, two high schools there, I guess, there were pens lying around, like, outside, and at these different high schools, kids went and picked up the pens and opened them, and then they exploded, burning their hands and faces and scratching them up and stuff. Do you think that the punishment for that, Sky, should be that they should have to have their hands blown off by an exploding pen?
For putting together the exploding pen? No, I don't think that's how it works. Okay, that's too much. How about if you were to put their hands in a pillowcase and then take a hammer to it? Well, no, in this country we don't do the whole eye for an eye. A washcloth? A washcloth. Like you take a washcloth over their hands. I mean, prison time, yes, but actual torture and physical mutilation, no. How about you put their hands in a couple of tube socks and then you smash it with a hammer? Well, no. Is that too much? Yeah, that's going a little far. So no cases of exploding pens in San Diego County, but they just are warning all Southern California public schools to be careful. and keep your eyes peeled. Oh, my God, we're burning alive! You guys hear about the dude that walked in front of the trolley, got hit by the trolley here in San Diego the other day? Because he was trying to avoid an Amtrak, right, Skye? Yeah, this is so sad. This happened yesterday. This all went down on Hancock Street. It was about 2.30 yesterday. And this dude saw the Amtrak train come in, so he walked to get out of the way of the Amtrak and walked directly into the path of an oncoming.
Here is what I don't understand. You know, they make it pretty easy to not get killed by the trolley. You know, they try to make it easy so you don't get killed by the trolley. One would think. You almost have to work at getting killed by the trolley. You know? But people somehow... It happens. They work it out so that it happens. Mr. Edward? Should we take a break? Why did you just call me that? I don't know. It's really weird. Yes, Mr. Michael. Eddie P. All right, we'll take a break. We'll be back. With IQs that can only be measured by an electron microscope. It's the Mikey Show. How can you talk if you haven't got a brain? I don't know. I don't know. Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking. On Rock 105.3. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. You know, this ride still is staying very tough out of the South Bay, man. North 805. There's an accident just before the 54 South Bay freeway in the center divide. And that's keeping you slow out of Chula Vista. Those brake lights extend past that crash. Another accident blocking the two left lanes here past Bonita Road, making it tough. And from there, it stays slow through North Park. Then again, as you come up out of Mission Valley, pretty much from Murray Ridge, solid over the 52 into the Golden Triangle.
Westbound 94 stays tight as well through Lemon Grove, from Federal to the 805, and then again just a bit into downtown. Westbound 8 out of the East County here, still heavy over the Grossmont Summit from Severn Drive, in past Sinaxic, therein just past College, and South Montana to the 5, a struggle man, from Point City Lane all the way down to the racetrack. And now a traffic alert has been issued from a bad accident involving several cars in a big rig. One overturned here in the two left lanes just before the Coronado Bridge ramp. So you're being advised to stay away from that area. I'm Rick Lawrence on San Diego's rock station, Rock 105.3. San Diego, sit down and buckle up. Hey, I just wanted to thank you for sending me to Sleep Train. I got an awesome bed and an awesome deal. The tears almost just came to my eyes again thinking about my Sleep Train mattress, which is in storage right now.
My sleep train mattress is in storage, and it's the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on in my life. Oh, my God. Yeah, I got a California King, the biggest you can get. Nice pillow top. They almost cut me a $1,000 deal doing the price exchange or the price comparison. Oh, my God. Dude, I wish I could go to your house while you're working and take a nap. I really do. That's kind of creepy. Oh, and it's the truth. I really wish I could get on his Sleep Train mattress. They're the most comfortable mattresses, and they tell you straight out, we'll beat everybody's price. You think this is, oh, Mikey, Sleep Train's a sponsor, so he's on there, you know, doing their D. I'm not. You're not doing the D? I'm not giving them an H job. Okay. All right. Just so we clear that all up. I'm being really genuine about, and this is a guy that just called in to say this. Yeah. He went to Sleep Train, and they, which store did you go to? The LaMesa one. When you're passing by Sleep Train when you're driving around, and you see Sleep Train, let from this moment on, it register you, the alcoholic that you listen to on the radio that's now sober and knows a good thing when he sees it. I'm telling you the truth, Sleep Train is the real deal, man. Oh, yeah. Thank you, bro. Thank you. Thank you.
Go to any sleep train. They're your ticket to a better night's sleep. Hell yeah. That's their slogan. The voice that you're hearing coming through your speakers right now in your car is that of a beaner. Welcome back to the show. It is 8.58. Mostly sunny today. High temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Lakeside's 46 right now at Mission Beach. It's 39 degrees. The producer of the Mikey Show just ate a burrito in world record time. Holy cow. Well, we don't technically... It's a sports accomplishment. No, it's a record. We didn't time it, but it looked like a record. It was awesome. So my wife, Rebecca, just took her two friends back to the airport. They're flying out.
Jamie and Erica, and Erica's four-year-old son. And I'll tell you something, that Jamie, she don't hold back. Really? Last night, the little boy, the four-year-old Connor, was getting crazy, right? And they were staying with you guys? Yeah. Okay. And in the middle of all of it, she looks over at me and she goes, I bet you just can't wait to have kids, right? Bet you're just dying to have kids, right, Mike? And she's saying that in front of his mother. And then she goes, she says out loud, I cannot wait to get home and take my birth control pills. Oh, okay, that's a little far. Oh, that's just the beginning. I mean, that first comment, I was like, okay, you can't get away saying that jokingly. But what about that? That's just pretty insulting to mom. Then she says. She goes, I don't like to play with kids. She's saying this to her. Right. She goes, I like kids when they're real little, like babies. She goes, and then I like older kids where you can actually have a conversation with them. And she goes, but not like his age. Oh my gosh, that is brave. Hey, let me tell you, man, she don't hold back. If she's thinking it, she says it. And then she says to my wife and I, because she knows how into football I am.
She goes, yep. She goes, I bet you can't wait. She goes, and just think, on Sundays, maybe it'll be like a little fairy tale and Rebecca will whisk your children off on Sundays. And Rebecca, like not effing around Rebecca, is cooking dinner. And she wasn't kidding. No smile on her face. Not joking. She goes, both of you need to stop. And I'm not kidding. And why was she saying that for the protection? She didn't want me to hear it. Okay. So she wasn't trying to protect the feelings of the mother of this child. She just doesn't want you. It was that comment specifically. They were both coming at me with, they were both teasing. Okay. It wasn't like Rebecca, you know, didn't care about her comments. Oh, totally. Totally. To Erica. She wasn't going to get in the middle of it. Neither was I. Right. But at that certain moment, her concern was you getting scared away from children, which is happening. Yeah. Yeah, she also needs to stop taking you to Red Robin, too. Yeah. Even though you love that place. That Red Robin scares the crap out of me. You go in there on a Friday night, and I'm telling you, if you are a man, you know, you'll be convinced that you'll never have children. Right. Because they're maniacs, those four, five, six-year-olds. They're maniacs. Oh, I love them. He was being crazy last night. You got to discipline him, then. Well, yeah, and, you know.
You know, I had a thing where as he calls me Uncle Mike and she calls me Uncle Mike, but I'm not really Uncle Mike, you know, not in the blood sense, not in the. And so I don't feel it's my place, but I'll tell you what I wanted. And I kind of did. Yeah, I kind of go, Connor, what are you doing? And he stopped. for like five seconds and then back to it. Just burning your house down, Uncle Mike. Yeah, I mean, just, you know. And it's the age. He did this thing last night where he goes, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi. Oh, I love it. No. No. And she tells him, like, she's sitting on the ground, you know, Indian style, ready to play a puzzle with him. And he's laying on the ground next to her, and he starts laughing, and he goes, you have a stinky bottom. And she goes, you know what? That's not very nice to say, and don't say that, because that hurts people's feelings, and that's not nice. And he laughs and says it again. That's kids. That is children. Right. What, Eddie? That's when you smack them, man. That's when you put soap in your mouth.
They put soap in their mouth. They should not be saying stuff like that. No slapping. Dude, when I would talk like that, my parents put soap in my mouth. See, now this reminds me, because Skye's instant reaction is, no, you do not do that. And it reminds me of that thing that we read that white parents need to know. It is not okay, white people, for your child to slap you at Starbucks. It's not okay. Okay? When your child slaps you at Starbucks, you don't go, Jonathan? It's not right to slap a person like that. When you cause bodily harm to them, it hurts their feelings and hurts their face. Hunter, I don't want to have to put you in a timeout. That's right. Hunter, if you... You do do those things, actually. Hunter, if you kick me in the testicles again, I'm going to place you in a timeout. Sky. What? You realize when kids are that age, they're crazy, okay? They're crazy people. They're just small. They're crazy. Now let me finish. Okay.
You give Mikey a hard time for reasoning with crazy people. Right. What you're doing is reasoning with a crazy person. They don't get it. They don't get it. But there are techniques to help them understand. Your technique is with a crazy person. Just like a psychologist has a technique to, you know, work with a crazy person. It's called medication. Yeah. It's called riddle. There are techniques to deal with children so they know when you're being serious. One of those. What would you do if your kid said to you, you have a stinky bottom and he's that young? What would you do? You would get down on their level. You would make eye contact with them. You would change your voice to a tone that you only use when your child is being disciplined. That's the only time they hear that tone. Ladies and gentlemen, what's wrong with America? Well, all child experts recommend this, so you may want to bring this up to them. I'm sure they do now. What do you mean now? But when we grew up, it wasn't like that. Well, no, it wasn't. I'll be honest with you, man. I didn't do that stuff because my dad. Fear of God. Yeah. I was scared to death. Which is great. Yep. Listen, now I'm going to tell you, I'm going to do it Sky's way. And the reason that I'm going to do it Sky's way is because that's what my wife wants. And I told her, we will try it your way. And I will. If our kids are doing a thing, we'll do the, hey, you're going into a timeout, blah, blah, blah. Right.
Here is what Erica told me last night, and it is not the first time I've heard this. I've heard this from many, many parents, many parents. She said, before you get married, you're going to have these discussions with your husband. She was saying this to Rebecca. And you can equate this to if you're a man. You're going to have discussions with your wife about how you plan to raise children. She said, when they come out of your womb, it all changes. Because things that you thought that you would never do and never say, you are going to do and say. See, here's the problem. Right now, intellectually, I can tell you that I have agreed with my wife that I am going to time out. I am going to use the lower register of my voice. I'm going to make the eye contact. I'm going to say, Toby.
Your kid's name Toby. I don't know. It is. On the radio, Mikey's kid will always be Toby. Toby. Okay. So you're discussing with Toby. And I will say, and I will say, if you continued punching me in the testicles. Why do you sound like a transgender person? Because Sky says you have to change your voice to a voice they've never heard. In a lower register. And you say, I duff me. You know what I'm saying? So anyway, you change the voice. It puts the lotion in the basket. Toby, it puts the lotion in the basket. Toby, you don't know what pain is. All right, you guys. It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again. Don't you hurt my dog, Toby. Lady! Oh, my God. Toby, was she like a great big fat person? I'm so embarrassed right now. So anyway, but I know intellectually I'll try that and there's going to be that day where it's the fourth quarter and they're in a two-minute drill and the Chargers are driving and they're down by a touchdown and he spills milk all over my laptop.
that I'm watching my fantasy football stats on. That little bastard. And at that point, I think that it may be hard at that point for me to go, Toby. Tobias. Tobias. First of all, your brother Job never does anything like that. But I will say, I mean, obviously then it's very difficult to do that. It is. But that's why you're the adult. Sky, give me a break. You're going to do it too. You know what? I bet you a million dollars I will have those moments, but I pray to God I do not succumb to them because that's how you teach children. You know what I mean? By example. Tell you what I'd like to do. If they see you losing it, then they're going to lose it. Now, I'm telling you this as a God-fearing man. I'm telling you this as a guy who has become a Christian. I'm telling you what I would like to do. What I would like to do is yank them up by the arm. and slap their butt with my hand really hard. That's illegal. Okay. Well, in my day, it wasn't illegal. It was still legal. It was still legal for my father to ask me to go get the belt myself. I was told to go get the belt. It wasn't like dad went and got the belt. Go get the belt.
And I had to march into his closet and try to pick the least painful looking belt. Unfortunately, they were all pretty painful at the hands of a six foot tall swinging Mexican. They were all pretty painful. And I had to go get the belt. And my dad, in the rage that he was in at the time, never made direct contact with the butt. Sometimes it was the back of the legs. But you want to know something? I didn't do that crap again. Hell no. No way. But to this day, you remember it, you speak of it, and you describe your father as in rage. Excuse me. I love my pop. What did it do? So what was the damage done? Well, as a child, you never want to fear your parents. Yes, you do. Yes, you do. You absolutely do. You want to respect your parents. You don't ever want to fear your parents. I did respect him. I disagree. I did respect him. And you know, the only time I feared him was when I messed up. When I messed up, I feared him. The rest of the time, he was my dad. I loved him. You know what? Even after I got whacked.
I wasn't mad at him. I knew I deserved it. Me too. I knew it. Ashley, I'm sure, got her fair share of ass whoopings. When I was two years old, my dad goes, hey, you know, do you ever get spanked? And I was two years old, and I went again and again and again. And I would do things really deceivingly, and then I'd turn around and go, go ahead, and they'd spank me. Like, I was that kid. And I don't know how else I would have gotten disciplined if they were not putting me in my place like that. I'll tell you what I don't believe in. And she just made a... point against everything she's been saying. I don't know what she's talking about. The spanking didn't help her at all is basically what she's saying. I don't understand. Because that, it took me, I was such a brat that no way that you could just talk to me normally. You had to discipline me by spanking me. Yeah, but you're telling me that you didn't care when you did get spanked. And it didn't work. And that's when the soap would go in my mouth. Like, that's what you have to do. All right. All right. I was going to say, we got a lot of people calling about this. Want to take a break and come back and talk about it? Sure. All right, we'll be right back. And doesn't crawl, he stands tall. Tall, not, you know, literally. It's the Mikey Show on Rocko 5.3.

It's slow from Felicita down past Villarancho Parkway. Another slowdown from Carmel Mountain Road to that 56 connector. Heading down the shoreline, south on 7 to 5, still struggling, man, from Point City Lane all the way down towards Manchester. And the traffic alert still in effect from an overturned crash here. South 5 just before the bridge coming out of downtown. You're being advised to avoid that area. The westbound 8 out of the east county, a much better ride here now. You're cruising right along out of the Cajon Valley. You're still going to find a few brake lights flipped over right at the 805, and that's about it. That should be gone anytime soon. Westbound side of the 94 also backing up at that 805. And then from there, you're pretty much good to go. Just a minor delay to downtown. North 805 out of the South Bay. Still pretty tough, though. From Chula Vista, a pass to crash at the South Bay Freeway. And that continued slow up past Imperial Avenue. Backs up again at the 94. A few more brake lights through North Park. And then a very tough ride coming up towards Mesa College Drive. From there, it's solid over the 52 into the Golden Triangle. I'm McLaurin on San Diego's Drop Station, Rock 105.3.

My uncle recently had some trouble with the law, and my mom and I weren't sure what to do in terms of helping him get out of jail. My cousin came to town, and he got in a fight, and he was arrested and detained. And what we did was decide to call King Stallman. It was very easy. He just made a phone call, answered a couple questions, and within an hour, he was all set up. Once we called King Stallman, the turnaround time in terms of helping get my uncle out of jail was... Within the hour, they were helpful. They calmed us down. They let us know that everything was going to be okay. We called King Stallman, and he was fast, professional, and prompt. Once we called King Stallman, we were sure we'd made the right decision. My cousin felt satisfied and relieved. King Stallman Bail Bonds, serving all of San Diego County. Thank you, King Stallman. To Marconi. Starring Mikey. Where am I? How do I feel? What's going on? Hey, how you know? No, yes, ma'am. Sky. I am officially out on everyone. I'm the most normal person on the show, Mikey. How do I recycle? It's good for the planet, good for my pocket. And Ashley. I'm an English minor. Very minor. It's the Mikey Show. Thanks for prepping me, my sightseeing. On Rock 105.3. Sorry, we all had to finish our breakfast. Welcome back to the show. It's 9-18. Today we're going to see high temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Vista 60 right now at the airport, 56 degrees. Nice knowing you, Tom Craft. The Aztecs fired their head football coach after four seasons. We had him in here, too. Yep. We had him as a guest on the show. Smelled delicious. That's right. Yeah, remember he was all cologne? Yeah, he wore a wonderful aftershave. He was all clothed. So anyway, we're talking about raising kids.
And what it's like when you're raising kids and the whole thing. P1 Megan is on the line. She says different stuff works for different kids. Right, Megan? Yeah, that's right. Nothing worked with my son. He's seven now and finally under control. But when he was little, nothing ever worked. He was Satan child. He would throw a laundry basket at me at a year old. Yeah, and with some children, from what I've heard and from life experience, have problems beyond regular children. And I think what we're talking about here is like a regular everyday. You know what I mean? Because I know my brother had a lot of issues growing up, and nothing my mom did help. But, you know, he was, you know, having allergic reactions to things, ADD, other things like that, you know. And that makes it extremely hard to parent. My son was diagnosed with ADD last year. Oh, man. But even with the medications, nothing worked. Yes. And he still is just as headstrong as he's going to be. And timeouts, we've done everything. The child, he got, like, the entire collection of the Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Last year. The entire collection of what? Of the Yu-Gi-Oh cards. The Yu-Gi-Oh? In the Japanese animation. But he liked them, so we bought them. Right. And he got them taken away from him because he wouldn't mind. Like, he steals my candy. Like, M&M's, we have Christmas candy out. And we put them way on top of the entertainment center. The child climbs up the entertainment center to get to my candy.
Well, email me if, you know, you want some suggestions on other things for children who have been diagnosed with ADHD. We do counseling. We try changing his diet. We've tried. Yeah. We have a weird combination of meds that seem to get him through the school day. So that. My priority. Why are you guys looking at me so strange? Well, Dr. Skye, psychologist all of a sudden. My mom was the president of a foundation that helped children for natural cures for children with ADHD. And I could pass along a lot of good information. My dad is a TV repairman. He's got an awesome set of tools. Well, if somebody needs help with their TV, maybe they should email you, Mikey. Well, why if I wasn't the person that did that? Because I have access to all of the information and I can pass it along to her. Have you tried electric shock? Is that one of the things that you would suggest to people? No, actually, I would not suggest that. Dog collar? Honey, we're talking about how to discipline the kids and stuff. And see, because my wife is white, she believes in not spanking. Whatever, that's not true. And Skye is white too, and Skye thinks the same thing.
And I told my wife, I said, I will do that. I will try it. Absolutely try it my wife's way. Yeah. You know, this weekend was, it was tough because, you know, there was some discipline issues going on around the house for sure. You think, babe? Well, yeah. But, you know, it was unfortunate. for them because that's a really difficult place for both of them to be as the child and as the parent. Hey, honey. I think it was helpful for me because I can look and see pretty clearly this is what you do not do because this is what happens as a result of it. Honey, can I ask you something? Sure. Would she have been upset if I had stepped in? Because there was a part of me that thought that she almost would have welcomed that. Yeah, and she was kind of communicating over the weekend that She has, he has learned to walk over her enough to the point where it's much more effective if somebody else disciplines him because he hasn't established those like, you know, boundary. Yeah. Well, first of all, first of all, that's, that is not, that may be what she thinks, but that's not the case. Well, that's not what she, you know.
It's probably not what she should do. I think that the lady from Super Nanny would say, well, that's not true. You can still take control of your own child. Yeah, she needs to reestablish the boundaries with her child. That's exactly right, and it's completely gone. Like this, you know, most recent time when I've seen them, it's, you know, there's definitely some issues, and she recognizes it, but she feels kind of helpless because how do I get this back? You know what I mean? Yeah, and part of it for me was I was sitting there watching it, and I'm like, You know, right now, I'm lovable Uncle Mike. And Connor loves me. I don't want to become the... Can I mention something, though? He does and always has been spanked. So, you know what I mean? Like, that doesn't necessarily work. Like, your argument for spanking. Yeah, I don't think they're doing that the right way either. Yeah, I didn't see any of that. Well, because she doesn't feel comfortable doing it around people. But I can tell you, being very close to them, that he gets spanked. He gets spanked. He gets spanked by her, and he gets spanked by his father. Well, not hard enough.
Spanking is bad. I just think there's other ways that you can. Yes, it is. Yeah, she's right. There is other ways. I'm thinking about a torture chamber. Here's the thing, though. I also have to be realistic and realize that every kid is different. Like, I didn't get spanked, but looking back, for the most part, I really didn't need to get spanked. Do you know what I mean? So, I mean, I'm open, but at the same time, I definitely want to try. other methods you know and hang on hang on honey p1 kristen you there yeah go ahead i just want to say when sky has kids of her own she's definitely going to change her mind because that works in like a fairy tale land but not with real children Well, I've heard of many success stories where people have actually done that and said, I've never once spanked my child. But you're right. I mean, you know, I'm not going to really know till I live it, till I walk in those shoes. And I'm sure there'll be those days that I'm ripping my hair out and I'd love, you know, but I'm, you know, like Rebecca is saying, I'm going to try my best to do it this way first. And I thought the same thing and three kids later, there's no way in the world that would have worked. You got a litter. And I'm the same age as Skye.
Oh, wow. Holy cow. You're 28 with three kids? I don't think I would take on three. Yeah. That's a lot. You know what? It's not that bad. And once they understand that they will get in trouble for what they did, I don't have to thank them anymore. And, like, my son knows when he gets to look. He knows to stop. Yeah, I like the look. I think the look is very effective. And we know, everybody knows what we mean when we say the look. And you know why? They know the consequence. Fear. Yeah, fear. And I think it all comes down to consistency, regardless of what you're... I would consistently spank, babe. Well, what I was just about to say is that regardless of your disciplined strategy, regardless of what it is, whether it's spanking, whether it's timeouts... Everybody has a different approach, but whatever it is that you decide you have to do, you have to do it consistently. And I think that adults get tired, you know, and they get like, oh, I don't want to do this. Hey, babe, your two girlfriends, they were pretty effective at talking me out of a kid last night. Oh, my gosh. I wanted, I told them after you went to bed, I was like, thank you a lot. I hate you both.
I mean, they were just pouring it on. Oh, you just wait, Mike. Oh, oh, oh. And Jamie, who doesn't want kids. Yeah, the one that got me was Jamie going, oh, don't worry, Mike. Maybe you'll live in a fairy tale. And on Sundays, Rebecca will whisk the kids away and you can watch football. And Jamie doesn't want kids. She's never wanted kids. And she's like, I can't wait to get back and take my birth control pill and have my cycle. That's what she said. We don't need to talk about that. And, you know, hey, babe, do you notice how Jamie don't hold back? No. She said stuff last night to Erica where, you know, at first I thought she was passive aggressive and then I went, no, she's outwardly aggressive. She's always been like that her whole life. She'll just tell you exactly how she feels. It was crazy. Yeah. Do you think Erica was offended by any of that? No, because I think she knows Jamie. She's known Jamie for a long time, and she knows how she communicates. And the truth is that Erica's kind of like that, too. You know what she said to her? What? I think you were upstairs taking a shower. Yeah. She says to Erica, she goes, yeah. She goes, you know, I've realized that I don't like to play with kids. And she goes, oh, really? And she goes, yeah, I don't like to play with kids. She goes, and, you know.
Unless the kids are a certain age, I don't like them. Like, I like little babies. Yeah. And Erica goes, yeah, I think everybody loves little babies. And she goes, yeah, and I like, like, older kids that you can reason with, but not like his age. Right. And I was like, holy cow. Like, basically saying, I don't like your child. Yeah, that's how she really feels. Oh, my. Yeah, sometimes she's a little harsh. She says what's on her mind. Uh-huh, I love her, though. Oh, yeah, she's a cool chick. She doesn't hold back. I know it. All right, babe. Okay, love you. Love you. Bye. Yeah, I don't know, man. I'll do it her way until it doesn't work. But I'll try it that way until it doesn't work. Well, who's to say it's not going to work? Nobody. I'm just saying if it doesn't work. Okay, well, you said till it doesn't work. Yeah, because I don't think it will, but... Well, that's a great attitude to have going into it. Sky, let me tell you. I'll tell you this. I do believe this. I believe that it... Let's say I were to have three kids. It is a great possibility that that method that you and my wife, both white women, have for raising kids, that on two of my children, that may work. And on one of them, forget it. And maybe on one of them, it works. And on two of them, it doesn't. You know what I mean?
I think it is a kid by kid basis. And, you know, my niece, who is now 21 years old, when she was a little girl, she just wasn't a pain in the ass. She just wasn't. You know what I mean? And so they were able to basically raise her the way that you're talking about. She was pretty much raised like that. Every once in a while. And by every once in a while, I mean like maybe once a year. My brother would swat her pretty hard on the butt once. And he said it would happen about that often. She says, yeah, I remember in my life getting swatted in the butt like five times. But that's because that's what her personality was. You come out of the womb with a personality, man. And I agree with you that, you know, we may have an angel baby and then you may have a little devil baby. But even if I do have the little devil baby, I hope that I never resort to physical discipline. Never. All right, let's take one more phone call. P1 Chris, are you there? You have a question for Sky. Yes, I do. Hey, Sky, I was wondering how you're so adamant about not spanking young kids when you whip Ramsey the way that you do. That's a good point. That is a good... Yeah.
Good question. You discipline him all the time. Yeah, Skye, what about the inconsistency here? You say that when you raise your children, you will not hit them. Oh, my God. Yet, with your own personal black manservant, you whip him mercilessly. We know that she doesn't consider Ramsay a real person. That's true. She sees him more. Well, because he's not. She sees him. He's fictional. You have made him up. Is that because he is black? Yes. No, it's because he's black. He's fictional. There it is. She just said it. That was Skye saying it. And you made it up. Skye is black. There you go. You're an awful person. You're awful. My manservant, Ramsey. But you said it, Eddie. She doesn't really see him as a person. She sees him more as a cleaning utensil. Yeah. My manservant, Ramsey. That's right. Terrible. You're terrible. And we'll be back. They say monkeys could do this job. And we prove it every morning. It's the Monkey Morning Show on Rock 105. You know what? I was watching that 60 Minutes when Howard Stern was on it the other day. And I was looking at his studio and like his microphone arrangement. Solid as a freaking rock. First of all, he uses a Neumann. You know what that is, Sean? The Neumanns? Oh, hell yeah. Best mic you can buy. Yeah, I've told the radio station, I'll buy the Neumann. About 10 grand. I'll buy it. I'll write it off. You stick it in here for me. And I'm the only guy that uses it. Anyone want to do it? Makes me cuckoo. It's 9.39. Interesting conversation going on off the air. Oh, my. What did you ask Sky, Eddie? Well, you know, I know them really well, Sky and Mr. Sky. And I know Mr. Sky, he's the best. He's just a real passive, go-with-the-flow type of a guy. Very laid back. Yeah, doesn't, you know, get too...
heated one way or the other. His wife is not like that. No, she's very opinionated. She's the opposite. It's her way or the Sky way. That's right. Ball buster. And so I was saying to her, I'm like, I believe that you will be the disciplinarian in the relationship when you have kids. That you're going to be the ball buster when it comes to the kids. And Mr. Sky is just kind of going to go with the flow. But... There's one thing about Mr. Sky is that he kind of likes to get in there and fiddle with things. Like when Sky cooks, he likes to come in and kind of... He always thinks he can make things better. He always thinks he can improve on something. Maybe he can. Well, a lot of times he does. Hey, I like his little add-ons to when Sky cooks. Like the grilled cheese sounds scrumptious. Oh, shut up. Shut up. Don't bring the grilled cheese back, dude. You'll fire me up. Anyway, I said, so what are you going to do when... He's got the kids and he's fiddling with your discipline rules. Yeah. And my answer is I'm hoping that we're going to be on the same page and that we're going to know, it's going to be clear that neither of us should fiddle or deviate.
From what we've agreed upon. The plan. Because you have to have consistency. But you know that's pretty... Yeah, because Eddie's totally right. It's typical of his personality to be like, you know what, maybe if I do it this way, my child will end up being a superhero. So I can see that, but Bunny Boo, we can't be having none of that. Well, I had a thing last night where I was watching the football game, and I was excited to watch the game last night because... Sean Alexander is my fantasy football guy. He was the only guy I had left to play last night, and I was hoping for a win. I lost by three points. Ouch. And so I'm sitting there watching the game, and Connor, four years old, my wife's friend's son is over, and he's running riot, man, all over the house. And he comes up to me, and he says, Uncle Mike, will you help me? put my toys in my backpack. And I'm kind of thinking it at the moment, like, hmm, this is kind of an interesting little practice thing for me being a dad. And so I don't want to be the dad that says to the kid, get out of here. I'm watching football. I don't want to be that guy. And so I said, yeah, well, sure, Connor, what do you need? What are you doing? And he said, I'm putting these toys in my backpack.
And both my wife and Jamie speak up and they go, Connor, you can do that on your own. And I was about to help them do it because I thought, you know, I can't say, you know, you can't just tell them to go do their own thing. You got it. And then I realized, oh, wait a second. Sometimes kids will do something for no reason. But I said to my wife and to Jamie, I said to the kid, it's not no reason. To the kid, it was a real thing. I don't know where to draw the line. I don't know how to distinguish. Well, what is ridiculous and what is not ridiculous? I think it depends on the kid, the situation, and who you are to that kid. You being quote-unquote Uncle Mikey.
I think it's okay if you would have stepped in and helped him out and kind of were cool with him. If it's your own kid, you've got to kind of teach him to do his own thing, too. If you're your own kid, you say, no, Connor, you can do that by yourself. Because if not, he'll be looking for that every time. But at the same time, and it's just my interpretation, he's asking, not that he needs your help to do it, but he wants to interact with you. He wants attention from you. You know, in that case, if I knew he could do it himself and I was his parents, I'd be like, you know what? You know you can do this yourself. I'll sit here and watch you and talk to you about what you're putting in the bag, but I want to see you do it. So they still get that interaction. They don't have to act out to get your attention now. Here's my thing, though, because I think you're correct. Is it necessary to entertain every time they want to do that? Well. No. I mean, they should be able to entertain themselves, but at the same time, you have to realize if you get to the point where you're kind of ignoring a child and they feel that way, they will act out by throwing tantrums and doing physical stuff. I'm going to ask that same question exactly like I just did, the same way. Okay. Did I not hear it? Yeah. Is it okay to entertain that every single time? No, not every single time. Okay. And how do we distinguish which times it's okay?
Well, when you're a parent, you know. You know that this child's been at your hip for the last 23 hours. Okay, maybe it's time. Let me set you up with this game. How about you play with yourself? Wait. I'm sorry, Scott. How about you play the game? That sounds like a good idea. FCC. How about you play the game? Thank you. Thank you. I got a question. You're going to teach that later on in life. I got a question. I have a question for Eddie, Sky, and Sean. Uh-oh. Actually, Sean, I got to take you out of this because you don't want kids. That's right. And you say you're not going to ever have kids. Nope. I got a question for Eddie and Sky. With the three of us, will we allow each other to, when our kids are at our, you know, your kids are at my house, my kids are at your house, blah, blah, blah. Is it okay for Aunt Sky to tell Toby? To discipline Toby. Is it okay when Eddie's son, Gob, is over at the house for me to say that that's not okay? And when Skye's son... No, what's the other brother? The weird one? Oh, the one without the hand? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Buster. Buster.
Yeah, when Sky's son Buster is over. Why was my son Buster? When Sky's son Buster is over. Shut up, man. Is it okay? I'll tell you my take, but we all got to be in agreement for it to go down. Take effect? Yeah, for it to take effect. With all our kids running around? My take is, you guys are like family to me. It's okay. You can tell my son. If my son's being, you know. It's okay for it to not be a situation like it's been the last few days at my house with Erica where I felt like I couldn't say anything or do anything. I don't want it like that. Not with you guys. But that's my take. If you guys feel differently, then we'll do what you guys think. What do you think, Eddie? I mean, if I'm not there...
then you guys are the adults. So you, I mean, like if you're babysitting, you absolutely have the right to say whatever you want. Right. In that case. But what if your son is doing something in my house that I don't feel comfortable with or vice versa? You know that I wouldn't allow that to happen. So if I, I mean, if I'm not like watching or whatever and you see something going down, then yeah, I mean, you have the right to say not to do that. Sky. I definitely agree. Like, you know, if I was leaving the child with you, I would specifically tell them, you know, Uncle Mike's in charge, blah, blah, blah. Whatever he says, you know, don't be bad. And, you know, same thing. Like, say I walk out of the studio and the kid starts, you know, dunking the microphone in water. Like, you can totally, you know, say, you know, discipline. But. we all have to be on the same page of what kind of discipline is acceptable because in no way... So me and Addie can slap your kid, right? I mean, we can... No way in hell can you guys lay a hand on my child. We can pile drive. No, there's no way. If you guys think it's acceptable to spank your own children, in no way would I find it acceptable for you to put your hand on my child. What about a foot?
A knee. I was thinking a knee to the throat. Oh, Muay Thai clinch. Hi-ya! Hi-ya! Hi-ya! P1 win. Hi. I'm a child care professional. And the only advice that I can give to anyone who's going to be around kids or even is a parent now is to go down to community college and take some child development courses. If you want to know how to deal with kids, that's what you need to do. Oh, boy, with this political correctness and this taking courses. Well, when you have a child, you're supposed to, like, when you guys get pregnant, you know you and your wife will be going to. I will never get pregnant. Eddie, when you're, like, pregnant, you should go right down to. You guys will go to parenting classes. You know that, right, Mikey? What are you talking about? You're saying that like it's some sort of mandatory thing. Mikey isn't going to parenting classes. I'm not going to parenting classes. You guys aren't? No. Hell no. I'm not. I thought it's like the standard procedure. What? For white people, it is. You go to Lamaze. You go to parenting class. You learn as much as you can. Yes, Sean? You know them. I know. You know that that is not their thing. I know, dude, but you would think if it's their own child, they would want to have as much information as possible. They have all the information they need. According to them, but not according to professionals.
They don't care about the professionals. Yeah, that is for real, man. And let me tell you something. My husband is definitely going to a parenting. So am I. Did you hear that, Mr. Skate Bunny? Did you hear that? I'm sorry, so am I. That is an order. So am I. I'm definitely going to. Did you guys hear that? That's the sound of pants being slipped on two legs. That's right. Shut up. We're both going to go. Well, Skye, what if he doesn't want to? You're telling him he's going? Well, I'm going to say if you don't want to go, then... It's apparent to me you don't want to have kids. Oh, well, then he should clear that up. What the hell? He should clear that up. Okay, let's me and you have the conversation. This is crazy to me right now. Hang on a minute. No, Sky, let's come on. Just for a second. I'd love to be that guy. Dude, I'm like as blown away as you guys are at me right now. Let's have this conversation. I'm Mr. Sky. I'm going to show Mr. Sky how this conversation should go. Okay. Okay, go ahead. First of all, for the record, Mr. Sky in no way would have a problem going to a parenting class. How do you know? For the record. How do you know? Because I'm married to the gentleman. I think I know where his priorities lie. You're scary. Go ahead. Tell me. You're scary. Go ahead. Tell me. Tell me we're gone. Tell me we're gone. Am I pregnant already? Yes.
Okay, babe, you know, I had my last checkup, and it's time for us to schedule our Lamaze and parenting classes. Are it like Tuesday nights better or Thursday nights? Neither night. I don't want to do that. I'll go to you with the Lamaze. I think that that's kind of cool, and it's a bonding thing, and I think that's kind of cool for us to both do, but I'm not going to go to parenting classes. Well, why don't you want to go to the parenting classes? Because I'm a smart guy. I think I can figure it out, and I don't want to have some stranger. telling me how I should be raising our kids. Well, I'm a smart woman and no one's going to tell you what to do. They're just going to give you as much knowledge as possible. And how can that hurt? I'll tell you something. If you feel, honey, that's important to you to go and listen to a stranger tell you how to raise our kids. An expert. An expert. Okay. In your mind, it's an expert. In my mind, it's a person that... Well, they have to get certain certification and they wouldn't be recommended by the hospital if they weren't an expert. An expert. Okay. If you would like to go to said expert, knock yourself out. I am not going to go listen to this person. Are you not the father of this child? Yes, I am. That's why as the father of this child, I'm letting you know that I'm not doing that. So you're going to throw a tantrum right now and stomp your feet and say, no, no, no, I'm not going to do it because you'd rather sit home and watch primetime television and think about the future of our child. That's interesting because I don't recall stomping my feet.
I recall just sitting here having a conversation. No, you said, no, I'm not going. Yeah, I'm not. I don't recall stomping my feet. So we can't even have a conversation about the future of our child. We can't even have a conversation about it. Wait, wait, wait, wait, honey. It's interesting. So you're now equating my stance. on things as a tantrum. So, in other words, if it doesn't fall into what you want, it's therefore deemed a tantrum? You're not even hearing it out. You're saying, no, I'm not going, and this is the future of our child. This isn't something to take lightly. As I recall, you asked, the way that you asked me was to know which night I want to go. Yeah, because I thought that there's no way a father wouldn't want to be part of learning more about parenting. I understand. So, that's what you thought. Let me clarify. No, I'm not going. Sign here. Hang on a second. Hang on a second. The phone's ringing. Hello? Hey, Mr. Scott. What's up? It's Eddie. Hey, what's going on, dude? Hey, man. I was thinking about doing a little poker game even Tuesday or Thursday night. What are you down? Yeah, Thursday I think sounds better. Oh, perfect. All right, buddy. I'll see you there, man. Talk to you later. Later.
Anyway, here's a little document I put together. Feel free to sign at the bottom. Honey, that says divorce papers on it. Well, I know. It's nice that you can read. What is that all about? You want to divorce me now because I don't want to go to a parenting class? Because you won't go to parenting? Excuse me, honey. Apparently, you don't love me. Apparently, our vows meant nothing to you. Apparently, in our vows, we should have wrote in what Skye says goes or else. Yes. I hope Mr. Skye is not listening. I hope he is because he might try what I want. Let me tell you. I'm going to tell you guys something. I'm glad my wife isn't listening right now. Let me tell you something. When I first started dating my wife, she was a different woman. I'm going to tell you. My wife is a lot like Skye in many ways. She's a very, very, very intelligent woman, and so is Skye. They are both smart. Disagree with Skye, agree with Skye. Here's one thing you cannot deny about Skye. She is an intelligent woman. With a mouth on her. You heard it. You just got to hear it. Now, what happened was my wife was used to dating men who she took that approach and it was the Rebecca way every time. And I'm telling you, it didn't take but a few conversations like the one you just heard before everything changed. And I'll tell you this. I'll tell you this. Rebecca says that's why she married me.
She says up until then, it was all what she was the one moving the shells around. Until we started dating, when I put all of my hands on the shells and said, uh-uh, no. And I'm fair, Sky. I am not. I mean, you say what you want about me. I'm fair. Now, does your wife know that you will not attend parenting classes? I don't know. We can call her right now and tell her. I'll tell her. I'm not going to parenting classes. Let's take a break. We'll be right back. He's unstoppable. He is. Mikey, the Mikey Morning Show. The most sacred thing I do is care. Drive three. This has been an interesting topic the last hour. We've been talking about kids, raising kids, stuff like that. And Skye says that her and her husband are going to be going to, what, child development classes? Is that what you said? They're called parenting classes, and they're something that they suggest you do when you're going to be a first-time parent. And you've decided for Mr. Skye that he's going.
Well, for, you know, the well-being of our child. Yes, for the well-being of our child. Yes, I think it's important for him to know CPR, to know certain things that you shouldn't feed a child under a certain age, that I think it's better to learn from a certain person than try and read through every adult. Now we're talking about something. We're talking about the parenting classes. Hang on a minute. Do I think that it's wrong for a parent to learn to do CPR? Of course not. Who would? You'd be a maniac. That's what they teach at the parenting classes. What do you think they teach there? I think that they're also teaching cognitive reasoning with a child and how to put in time out and do that kind of stuff. I'm not going to classes about that. If I'm misunderstood, I'll say fine. I'll go to a class that teaches me child safety. Yeah. Are we talking about safety of a child? Like how to bring a newborn home and know how to care for them those first years. That is different from what I understood we were talking about. They're called parenting classes. Okay. It depends on what these parenting classes are about.
But see, you didn't even want to learn. You immediately said no before you even knew what it was. Sky, Sky, wait a minute. And it's because I thought it was something complete. When you say parenting classes, it says to me learning to be a parent, but not like safety. Well, yeah, learning to be a first-time parent, which includes safety. And if you had the opportunity to say to me from the very beginning, Mike, this is about like safety stuff. I didn't know that you didn't know that. Yeah, I didn't. This is like the first we're realizing. If it's a safety issue and you're like learning how to give your kids CPR. Okay, Eddie, is that what you thought it was? No. You didn't know that? No. Anybody would be a nut job to not want to do that. We've already explained that. Sky, what do you think I thought? What we've been talking about. With a newborn? You're going to try and get down on a level and talk to a newborn? No, no. I guess we were just on two totally different pages with that one. I mean, we were talking about raising kids, and you're talking about... like safety things for an infant now and i'm like oh well i think the parenting classes also include other things like the importance of touching and the importance of the voice and how to comfort your child and things like that but they also teach things i'm out on that yeah i don't want to do that either i mean that's that kind of stuff to me is a lot of like um that new it's the new thing you know it's the you know it's very crunchy very like
And so you can't just listen to it and then reject it if you choose so? If my wife is interested in that, sweetheart, knock yourself out. And so what if you have to compromise? What if you go, okay, I'll learn CPR, but I may also have to hear a half hour about how important touch is to a newborn. First of all, now I'm really, I'll tell you something. I'm real confused. I'm real confused about what these classes are, but we want to talk to Rebecca, my wife. Honey, are you there? Yeah, hi, sweetheart. Now, have you ever heard of these, what are they called, Sky? parenting classes, like when you're going to give birth, you know, they want you to go through a regimen of parenting classes? Yeah, I mean, I've definitely heard of them. I don't know specifically what the content is of the classes because I've never had a child, you know, but I've heard of them. And then I think that that's something different than like child development, you know what I mean? Which is more like social and psychological and, you know, parenting tactics. That's what we're thinking. Yeah, I think parenting classes are more the basic. I don't know, though, for sure. Now, let me ask you, honey. Like I said, Lamaze and stuff like that. Yeah, I think that's a cool thing for me to be involved in and to like it's a bonding thing or whatever. Would you be upset at me if I wasn't going to take a parenting class? You know, again, I think it really depends on the content of the class.
If you're talking, you know, child development, absolutely not. I mean, that's not what's important to me is not that you attend a parenting class. What's important to me is that you and I together can agree on a parenting strategy and that we're consistent in that strategy. You know what I mean? It is something that I would absolutely be interested in, but I wouldn't be upset at you if you didn't want to go. With that said, though, there are certain things, like I just heard Sky talking about, I think I would feel more comfortable if we both knew information about choking and things like that. And there's books available for that, too. I don't know. And I think me and Mike are on the same page. We don't feel like we need to go to a class to learn stuff like that. parenting classes are somewhat new. You know, people for thousands of years have been having children without parenting classes. I think that for both the mother and the father, there is an instinctual thing that kicks in when you have a child.
that, you know, you kind of just figure it out. People have been doing it for thousands of years. And not only that, but we have... Sky is not digging that. It's true. And not only that, but me and Mike also have a great resource in our parents. Right. We always have people that we can ask and be like, hey, you know, what's the deal with this? And, you know, what's the deal with that? But for millions of years, or not millions, but thousands of years, women have been giving births in caves and not in hospitals, but we like to be as prepared as possible, and we like to take every step, so... Getting a checkup from a doctor can't hurt anything. I agree with you, Skye. And I, most likely, you know me, I'll probably go to the parenting classes. I'll be there, girl. Yeah. I, however, I don't necessarily have a problem with Mike not going. What's important to me is for... Eddie, you don't have to shake your fist like you're so proud. We're out. Well, it's just what's important for me is to, you know... come to a common understanding about what kind of parents we're going to be. And, you know, I'm going to read a ton of books. I'm going to, you know, whatever it is that I'm going to do. And I understand that he's not necessarily interested in that. And that's okay with me. There's the safety stuff, though, for sure. You know. All right, honey. All right. All right. We'll see you. All right. Bye. Start popping some kids out. Let's go. P1 Chris. Along with the phones.
P1 Marianne. Hi. Hi. I just think that, I think Sky's kind of being misleading about the parenting classes. Parenting classes usually typically teach you stuff like how to reason with a child and things like that. I don't want that. Safety issues. Safety issues. They won't let you leave the hospital if you don't even have the car seat there in your room. But isn't there a class that they suggest that you take, which I thought was called a parenting class when you're going to have your first child, that teaches things like CPR and stuff like that? So you don't even know a student? And the car seat. Well, that's what I always... Also, if you want to go learn it, you don't have to go take a class if you want to learn infant CPR. Every parent should know infant CPR. You can go to your fire department and learn that. But how am I being misleading is where I'm confused. You're calling saying I'm misleading. I have taken parenting classes. My twins, as a matter of fact, turned 10 today. Happy birthday, girls. Congratulations. Thank you. And I took a lot, a lot of classes because I had no idea what I was getting into having twins at 21. Oh, my God. So I took tons and tons of classes because they were offered to me. And I learned things like how to price compare diapers and what age typically a baby rolls over and lots of.
Not like health issues. I got no problems with my wife doing that. Yeah, how about it? Yeah. Exactly, but I didn't learn infant CPR. I didn't learn that until one of my daughters had to have a problem with surgery. Oh, my gosh. That's scary. All right, well, listen, Marianne, we got to go, but I thank you for the phone call. Thank you very much. All right. Time to pimp a CD. Oh, I like this idea. Now we got to get out of here. I got an appointment. Yep. I got my OBGYN today. Oh. Well, you got some purity classes to get to. I got to hit the OBGYN and then I got the parenting classes to get to. Say hi to Mr. Sky for me. Shut up. You'll be there. We're not pregnant. Oh, I didn't know. You didn't know? Are you not sitting across from me? Do you not talk to me every single day? You idiot. All right. The Best of the Mikey Show CD is available to you now. We made this announcement today. It is called Pretty Sure. Pretty Sure. Pretty Sure. Pretty Sure. And you can get it right now at mikeyshow.com. There is a limited supply. When we sell out, we sell out. It's $14.99. There's 11 tracks. We got songs on there that you're going to like. We got the Skies of Beating song on there available for the first time for you. We've never put it on a website. We've never made it available for download. The only way that you can get it is if you have taped it from the radio, which we're always talking when it's on. Now it's yours to own.
Plus 10 bits that are fantastic. Yeah, there's 11 bits on there. Yeah. So go to MikeyShow.com. Get it ordered for your friends and family for the holidays. And again, when it's gone, it's gone. Perfect one for each day of Hanukkah for our Jewish friends. Yeah, that's right. Kwanzaa makes a wonderful gift. Ramsey's on there. Yeah, Ramsey's getting it for Kwanzaa. So, you know. It's a great gift. What else? What else? What else? New DVDs and CDs. Oh, hello. Please. New CDs. We got the brand new Korn called See You on the Other Side out today. The Bee Gees Love Songs out today. Wait, wait. Do you know what's on it?
No. Damn it. I don't have the track list. I just have the new religion. Is it new or old? Because I love the Bee Gees love songs. Well, it says love songs, so to me that screams like greatest hits type of deal. You know, they're greatest love songs, but I'm not 100% sure. Hang on a minute. Don't call me on that. Before you try to start discussing. Mikey loves singing Bee Gees. Oh, dude, I love the Bee Gees. The real miracle was not one of them was gay. Well, I mean, how was that possible? How was that possible? Them in the recording studio? This is radio. No one can see you doing it. Oh, that's right. That's right. Oh, that's good stuff, man. That is good. Let me tell you something. I remember cruising in my mom's yellow station wagon, listening to that on AM radio. Nice. What was another good one from them, Eddie? What was that song? Dry Humping?
Wait a minute. I don't think that's what it was. I think it was called Jive Talking. Oh, that's right. Oops. And then there was the all-time gayest hit. That's what I'm talking about. Put on your dancing shoes. But the biggest BG hit of all time. I would like to see Boston Rob in that black and white leisure suit that John Travolta wore in Saturday Night Fever. I can't see this right now. But Boston Rob is underneath the console, squeezing Mikey's testicles to get in that eye. All right, what else, Skye? What else coming out? We have curtain call the hits. You can let go, Rob. Seriously, let go. One more hit. No, dude, that hurts. Ow! Eminem.
Curtain Call the Hits out today. What's that? It's the greatest hits. Best of, yeah. That's the greatest hits. Lindsay Lohan, a little more personal. Oh, I can't wait to get out of here then. The soundtrack to Jarhead. The Best of Fuel. Wait a minute, wait a minute. There was a Best of Fuel? I thought they had like two songs, period. No doubt. So Best of Fuel out today. Hang on a minute. Scott, you go so fast. It's as if you're trying to burn through everything. And we got some stuff. Remember this from Fuel? I thought you were in a... I am. Isn't that ironic? Not really. You know, really, it's not true ironing. No, not true. It's as if I'm Justin Brown right now. All the guys in our fantasy football league enjoying that joke. And not even all of them. Like four guys from fantasy football enjoying that joke. Ja Rule Exodus. Ashanti. She never lets me. Collectibles by Ashanti. She gives these out. I want to give people a little take. Ashley, do you see what I'm trying to do? I would have liked to have maybe heard from Eminem. You want to give them an example of what the music is. Exactly. You forgot the biggest one.
What was that? The best of the Mikey show CD came out today. Pretty sure it's the best of the Mikey show. Pretty sure it's on my list. Well, you're stupid. Yeah, I mean, you're on the show. You should have figured that out. You should have led with that. Yeah, pretty sure it's the best of the Mikey show. The best of CD is out today. It's out today. You can buy it online at MikeyShow.com. It's the only way you can buy it. Oh, well, there you go. $14.99, 11 cuts, all your favorite stuff. You can own it now for the first time. It's our first best-of CD that we've ever done at Rock 105. Oh, hello. And it's available to you. Get in time for Christmas. Yeah, what up, what up? And when it's gone, it's gone, and Sean says they're selling out like crazy. Is everybody doing Skyisms right now? Yes! This is my life. This one and this one. It's driving me crazy. Ah, come on, free lunch. At least you're not throwing footballs at me. I guess it's a step in the way. That was so funny yesterday. We're in the office and Eddie's throwing, like Skye's just trying to work on her computer with her back to everybody. And Skye throws one of those mini, or Eddie throws one of those mini footballs at her head. Multiple times. And then the scrum we had on the floor. Yeah, and then I threatened to take the football home and then it turned into a... Yeah, all of a sudden they're rolling around wrestling for the football on the floor. I ain't giving it up.
Well, you shouldn't be throwing it. The football either. Pop up a panty. Oh, my God. So good. What else? All right. New DVDs out today. Everybody ready? Yes. Fantastic Four. Hey, what up, what up? Mike. Don't you start, too. Name is Mikey. Whatever. Cinderella Man. I want to see that. The Dukes of Hazzard. The Cindy. The Cindy Man. The Dukes of Hazzard out today. Check that out. Star Wars Clone Wars out today. Stickety Fig. That's right, dude. Gift set. Star Wars Trilogy out today. Would you want that, what she just said? The two Clone Wars? Yeah. Isn't that animated stuff? Yeah, but it was cool. I watched it. It's the story in between episode two and episode three. Really? Yeah, like they tell a lot of stuff. Nerd alert. Nerd alert. Uh-oh. Oh, really? Really?
This is coming from the guy that owns every Boston Red Sox DVD around. And is so jazzed for the Chronicles of Narnia. You pomo. You know what? He got me into it yesterday. I left here, went to Walden Books, and I bought the Chronicles of Narnia book, started reading it. It's like a fairy tale for kids. I was enjoying it thoroughly. What? Oh, my. Well, it's at your level. I know. Totally. I'm not kidding you. It was the easiest reading. I was like, this is good. I like this. This is what I could read. Any book that starts out by, any book that begins with, there once was a boy. I'm like, I'm in. I get it. I can understand that. Sounds a little perverted to me. Okay. And then, real quick, TV shows coming to DVD today. Season 4 of 24. Season 5, West Wing. Season 9, MASH. Everybody Loves Raymond. Season 5. Murder, She Wrote. Season 2. The Newlyweds. The final season. and Rockstar in Excess, all on DVD today. And are you telling me, so what were the movies again? The major movies are Fantastic Four, Cinderella Man, and The Dukes of Hazzard. Cinderella Man. Volume 2. Volume 1 are already available. And I'd like them both for Christmas. Thank you. Okay. Holy cow. Alright, we gotta get out of here.
I got an appointment at 11 o'clock. I got to walk out of this studio straight to my car at this point. That's how late we are. What did I say? Before we got started, I go, we got to end the show today by 10 o'clock. And then someone starts singing the Bee Gees. Okay, no, no, you have an appointment. I just want to be on everything. Yeah, by the way, I used my weapon up already. Mikey Show. Hello. Go ahead. The sky wants us out of here, obviously. Well, I just don't have anywhere to go. You do. Mikey Show. Hey, this is P1 Josh. Yeah, go ahead, Josh. Hey, do you know there's like 10 different Chronicles of Narnia books? Yes, I do. But the one about the movie is called The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Yeah, that's the one about the movie, but there's like 10 other ones. Hey, you got the pop-up book? Yeah. Hey, I'm not kidding you. The one I have has pictures. The truth. Mikey Show. You got that talking lion in there? Yeah. Yeah, I do. Mikey Show. Weird. You got to be quicker than that, pencil. Mikey Show. Hey, what's going on? I just wanted to find out how B-Rob's butt was doing after getting shot when he was a turkey. Yeah, B-Rob. How'd your butt?
I'm doing better now. It's been a couple weeks, but, I mean, for a little while, I was sold out. A little chafey. Yeah. Shot him in the bum. And got me right in the spinal cord. That was the funniest thing I ever heard. Twice. Because Eddie decided to unload on me. I want to do that again. That was a good time. Dude, I know. I wish we had video of it, of him dropping to his knees in pain. It got me right in the, I think it was like E7 or whatever vertebra. Oh, really? Is that what it was? Was it E7? I'm sorry, I'm educated. Parking Qualcomm? You sunk my dirt bag. E7, huh? You know, the vertebrae. Mikey show. If you've announced when the $1,000 rewind. No, and I don't know what it should be. Eddie, you got any ideas? That? Really? Are we on the same page? This right here? That's what you want it to be? Okay. In your head over there, huh, Sky? Got Bee Gees in your head? Oh, well, hello.
