Johnny D described Blarney Stone customers overpowering three robbers, while Mikey later confronted Steven over an invented Korn-ticket mix-up and his demand for Chargers seats. The show's most serious turn was Cheater's Hotel: Tim suspected roommate Steven, but Andrea chose coworker Jason for the hotel stay, admitted the affair, and left the cast arguing over whether exposing her helped Tim or exploited his pain. Ashley and Skye led a debate over whether college, reading, or authenticity makes someone an articulate radio personality, while caller Tree challenged Mikey's taste after they agreed March of the Penguins was overhyped. Elsewhere, the cast riffed on Dennis Leary's airplane rant, bird-flu fears, Dr. Phil, a tanker fire, absurd reality-TV pitches, and a Newlywed Game rehearsal that ended with Eddie broadcasting Ashley's private medical story.
What happened, in order
Blarney Stone takedown
Johnny D recounted how Blarney Stone patrons disarmed three armed robbers, battered and restrained them, and discovered that the gunman was only 14.
The ticket liar
A caller eventually identifying himself as Steven insisted the station owed him Chargers tickets after falsely claiming he had won Korn tickets and inventing an employee named Sue.
Airplane nightmares
Dennis Leary delivered a stand-up rant about intrusive seatmates, nonstop talkers, and pilots who narrate every detail of a flight.
Can reading make a broadcaster?
Ashley praised Skye's debating skill and asked whether college would make her more articulate, prompting Mikey and Sean to argue that constant reading and authentic personality mattered more.
Bird flu panic
Mikey assumed he would inevitably catch bird flu in a worst-case San Diego outbreak, and the cast debated quarantines, mass treatment, contaminated shopping carts, and his habit of touching his face.
Cheater's Hotel
Tim suspected his girlfriend Andrea was cheating with his roommate Steven, but the show's fake hotel offer exposed her affair with an unexpected coworker named Jason.
Dr. Phil vitamin parody
The show turned Dr. Phil's defense of diet supplements into an absurd parody about grotesque side effects and dismissing the people who allegedly suffered them.
Penguin movie backlash
Mikey and caller Tree agreed that March of the Penguins was overhyped, then clashed hilariously over whether sophisticated dramas or broad comedies made better movie recommendations.
Tanker fire coverage
The cast improvised chaotic live coverage of an overturned fuel tanker near Qualcomm Stadium, mixing eyewitness calls and real road closures with a running fake-helicopter gag about Skye.
Reality Bites pitch-off
Skye read three deliberately outrageous reality-show pitches before listeners chose Sean's cocaine-themed Snort the Line and sent P1 Eric to a Chargers game.
Newlywed game disaster
A rehearsal of the Newlywed Game turned ugly when Eddie revealed Ashley's private story about an ex-boyfriend and a yeast infection, leaving her furious while he insisted he was only trying to win.

Welcome to the show, everybody. It's 6.03. Mostly sunny today. High temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Carmel Mountain's 36. Right now, National City is 40 degrees. Trevor Hoffman could decide today whether he's going to side with the Padres or the Cleveland Indians. Come on, Hoffie. I don't want to see you go. Say it ain't so. Imagine Hell's Bells being played in Cleveland. I don't want it, dude. I don't like that. I don't like that at all. All right. Welcome to the show. Eddie heard a bunch of other trade rumors about the Padres. There's a lot going on right now. So we got to talk about it. Welcome to the show. My name is Mike. On the air, I go by Mikey. In my personal life, people call me Mike. Had a girl ask me yesterday that I'm working with, doing some business with. And she said, what do you go by? Mikey, Mike, Michael.
And I said, you know what? It doesn't matter. I said, you know, different people call me different things. It really doesn't matter. And she goes, okay, because she goes, I really love the name Michael. And I didn't, you know, I didn't have it in me at that point to say, oh, anything but that. Does anybody call you Michael? No. You know, my wife wanted to call me that when we first met. She really wanted to call me that. And I said, no. It's hard. I said, no. You know, I think so badly. My wife just wanted me to be a Harvard. guy or a Yale guy or a UCSD guy, you know? Community college guy. Yeah, basically any kind of education would have been nice. Anyway, my name is Mike. I got on a long sleeve t-shirt today. I'm so fat, I have to learn how to keep myself warm while at the same time trying to maintain some sort of look.
Which is really hard when you're obese. It's also really hard to be obese after fat surgery. How does that happen? I'll tell you how it happens. Double doubles, animal style. That's how it happens. Yummy. Delicious. But all that's going to change in the new year for all of us. All that is going to change. So anyway, Eddie is our sports guy and our producer. I really like the area that he lives. I wish I lived where he lives. Can we say the city that you live in? Yeah. He lives in Mission Valley. I wish I lived there. I love that area more than any area in San Diego. Why? Unless I was like, you know, moronically rich, you know, like Jeff and Jer, and had an elevator in my house, and then I'd live in La Jolla. That'd be nice. Yeah, it'd be nice to live like that, you know? A little bit. But I don't make that kind of dough.
But yeah, Mission Valley, dude. I'll tell you why. Because of the proximity of stuff that I enjoy. You know, restaurants, cool shopping. It's 15 minutes from everything. You know? I mean, I just, I love that area. Skye's 28. She's a North County gal. What up? And she is wearing a sweater today that I would guess probably belonged to her dad. That says DKNY jeans down the side? Maybe not. I know you do that. Yeah, back in the 70s, men were definitely rolling the DKNY. Your dad ever get those tobacco shoes? Do I have to hit this? Oh, no, no, we're fine. First of all, my dad sleeps until like noon every day, so he never hears the show. But yes, he did get his tobacco Adidas shoes off of eBay. Circa. Like 78.
My brother paid, like, two bills for them, had them shipped over from France. Because they're from 1978. Yeah, they stopped manufacturing these shoes, like, in the late 70s, early 80s. And there's, like, a whole cult of, like, old dudes who love these shoes. That love the tobacco shoes. So we'll find him a pair on eBay, like, every other year. And he'll wear them out until there's, like, holes and the laces are falling out. Was he stoked? I mean, was he stoked or what? He was really, really excited, but the coloring was a little different. Aw. Oh, that sucks. But it's like it's Adidas brand. It's tobacco. The label's the same. So since these were from Europe, we're thinking maybe there was like a different dialogue. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why are they called tobacco? That's the color. You smoke them, yeah. That's the color. Smoke them up, Johnny. You smoke them. You smoke them, that's why. Smoke the shoes. Yep. Boston Rob is our friend. He's our phone screener. G'day, everybody. That's right. Top of the morning. He is from Boston. He's got a Boston accent. Get Johnny D on the phone. Okay. Ashley is 22 years old. She's wearing her leg warmers today. Yeah. They're making a comeback. That's right. What's wrong with the leg warmers? Hey, did you get that music bed? Or no, is it not ready? You got to work on it later? No, yeah, I have to work on it later, actually. It's a tricky one. And by the way, can I clarify their leg warmer boots? Thank you.
I'm sorry. Thank you. I don't want people to think that there's something that they aren't. Yeah. Hey, Sean, would you like to hear a music bed she's going to be making? And I say Sean because he's the only one that may recognize this. Hey, that's right. That's what I'm talking about. Love it. Okay, what, what, what? All right, so last night in Claremont, the Blarney Stone pub was robbed at gunpoint. And I guess some of the patrons overtook the guy that was robbing the place. Right, Skye? Yeah. I guess it was like three dudes. One of them had a gun. They all walked into the Blarney Stone last night around 1030 and tried to hold up the place and the customers weren't having it. So they like subdued the guys. The bar owner came out and took the gun from one of the robbers and they kept the three guys there until the cops showed up.
Well, on the phone with us right now, friend of the show, friend of Boston Rob's, a patron last night at the Blarney Stone. It's Johnny D. Johnny D. Hey, Mikey Show. What's going on, guys? Dude, so you were there. What time did it happen? Like you said, it happened about 10.30, in between 10.30 and 11. And were you just hanging out? So describe the scene. All right. Well, we're inside the bar. It's about 10.30, about 25 people inside. We got one female bartender. And, you know, we got our normal regular guys that come in on Tuesday night. Usually about five or six hockey guys that come in after their game. So it was a pretty busy night for a Tuesday. It was about 25 people. Anyway, from all the stories gathered, three... Well, you were there, right? Yeah, I was there. You know, I didn't see everything that went down, but more or less the guys walk into the bar. You know, they try to come in. A gentleman working the door says, you know, let me see your ID. At that time they turned around and said, you know, never mind. So we're everything, you know, just hanging out still, shooting darts, drinking beers. And I guess within about five minutes from that first time when they tried to come in, they had pulled in.
Three or four guys that were outside just having a cigarette break. And they come in with guns drawn to the backs of the guys that were outside, yelling and screaming, everybody get down, everybody get down. And, you know, at first everyone, including myself, thought it was just a joke or, you know, we didn't know what was going on. Because guys horse around like that all the time with the guns to the backs and the whole thing. Well, that's funny. Oh, yeah, it's hysterical. So you start laughing. You're like, that's a good one, guys. You're doubled over. Yeah. So, you know, when you're in the moment, you really don't think it's really that serious. Sure, you don't think it's real. You don't imagine that would happen. Yeah, especially in a bar like this. I mean, the joke going around all night was three black guys walking to an Irish bar. Was it three black guys? It was three black guys, yeah. Okay. That should have tipped you off right there. Yeah, that was warning signs right there when they all walked. Yeah, what do three black guys want to do with an Irish bar? Have a beer? We didn't know either. Yeah, it happens all the time, Sky.
Go ahead. Go ahead. Anyway, these guys come in. They start screaming, everybody get down. At that time, they had pushed the first gentleman in that they had the gun to the back drawn to. And we said, okay, this is real. Are they handguns? Yeah, it was a 9mm. Is it just one guy with a gun? No, there's one guy with a gun, two other buddies of his. Okay, right, right, right. Total of three guys, only one gun. One gun, three guys. Correct. Got it. So the gunman proceeds to go around the bar and, you know, basically try to get the money out. At that time, the owner... Now, wait, wait, wait. When you say that, do you mean he's going to patrons and getting money from patrons? No, he proceeded to walk into the bar, go directly to the cash register behind the bar. Got it. So he goes behind the bar. The female bartender's back there. She opens the register up. The other two guys, one gentleman's, you know, guarding the door. The other guy's kind of just in the center of the bar, making sure everyone's, you know, going along with what they want. Basically, from about the time the first guy with the gun gets behind the register and starts, you know, trying to take the money, probably about 10 seconds, 10, 15 seconds into them being in there, a patron just...
inside, I guess he's military training, military background, proceeded to just lunge at the guy with the gun. Holy cow. Yeah, grabbed the gun out of the kid's hand, and then at that time, we saw the gun was, you know, taken away by one of the patrons, while the other 25 Irish guys decided, well, what the hell, let's get involved too. Oh no. Oh my. Top of the motor to ya. Cut. Yeah, before long you hear in chairs being thrown at the other two. You hear what? Before long you hear, you hear chairs and barstools being, you know. Thrown? Thrown at the other two guys. Yeah. And then they subdue those guys? They apprehend the two guys, including the guy behind the bar. So all three were apprehended by the big Irish guys. And, you know, they're still on the ground and they're still, you know, hitting them with barstools and whatnot. At that time, I was able to get off the ground, realize all three suspects were in control by the patrons, so I made the first 911 call to get them out there. That more or less is pretty much what happened. I would love to get a hold of that public 911 call, because they're all public. You can get a hold of them. Hi, this is Johnny D. I'm sure you know who I am, but that's not important right now. What is important?
is three black men are in a bar. This isn't a joke, by the way. Three black guys walked into an Irish bar. This is not a joke. Just want you to know that, 911 lady. And I'm assuming you're a woman. I haven't even heard your voice. I know that's sexist. Is this a woman? Yes, it is. Okay, good. I have a question. Go ahead, Skye. So, did, like, the African-American guys get the crap kicked out of them? Or were they just, like, subdued? They got definitely a fair share of bar stools, chairs, and kicks on the head. And I don't know if you guys know, but it turns out the gunman that came in, you know, he was 14 years old. No way. No, that's not in like any of the news this morning. You know, the crazy thing is, is that that kid. is going to be walking around and doing his thing in a very short amount of time. Yeah. 14 years old. Yeah, the two other suspects were in the low 20s, 22, 23, and the third one was in his upper 20s, 27, 28. But you see how they work it. They have the one who has the gun be the minor. Right. Yeah, absolutely. Right, because if they get in trouble, they're going to prison. Right. If he gets in trouble, you know.
He'll be out in four years when he's 18. Right. Unbelievable. Geniuses. Thank you, Johnny D. No problem, guys. Glad you're okay, Johnny D. Hey, man. That's okay. Thanks, guys. All right, dude. I'll see you. Yeah, that's okay. He doesn't want to say it because he's far too modest, but apparently all three of these black guys were like, hey, are you Johnny Damon from the Boston Red Sox? Well, yes, I am. Don't let that interrupt your robbery. Okay. That's really weird. Please try not to be distracted from your mission at hand. But yes, I do bear a striking resemblance to Johnny Damon. Oh, no. So there you go. Mikey Show, hello. Yo, this is P1 Liar Boy. What's up? Not much. Just calling up to Mikey. You know, I kind of went into 105.3 yesterday and talked to some guy, and I kind of realized it. They think Mikey's the crap and he's untouchable, dude. Now, what do you mean you went into Rock 105? You walked into the radio station? Oh, heck yeah. Okay. Mikey, I got nothing against you, dude. You're a good guy. I love your show. But you guys still think I'm a liar, dude. That's totally cool, dude. Oh, this is that. I got to explain, bro, because people don't know what you're talking about. This guy called us a few days ago. And he said, hey, Mikey.
I won tickets to Korn, and when I came to pick them up, what they gave me was tickets to a comedy show, and I'm not old enough to get into the show. So I wanted to help... Be quiet for a minute. So I wanted to... Shut up. Shut up. So I wanted to help him out. All right, I'll turn you down. So I wanted to help him out. I said, yeah, dude, come down to the radio station. If you won tickets to Korn, come down to the radio station and... They'll make it right. So he comes down to the radio station and he calls me back the next day after he did and said, oh yeah, Mikey, well, I'm not 21. I can't get into corn either. It's a 21 and up show. Well, we explained to everybody yesterday on the air that he couldn't have worn corn tickets on our show like he said because we weren't giving them away. What he may have called up and won was tickets to a comedy show. But if he's not 21, he can't go to the comedy show. All right. Well, and then don't forget the fact that when he found out that you have to be 21 to get into corn, which he didn't win in the first place, he then proceeded to tell us that we should give him charger tickets. Yeah, that's right. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I want. Yeah, why would we give you that if you lied to us in the first place? Mikey, it's not the fact that I lied to you. I went in. I went by procedure, dude. The lady I talked to at Rock 105.3 on the phone, she said, hey, call and bug Mikey. He'll give you charger tickets.
Yeah, who did you talk to? I talked to Sue. Dude, we don't even have a... Dude, we don't have a Sue. Yeah, we don't have a Sue. But, I mean, of all the names that you would make up off the top of your head, Sue, I mean, wouldn't you go with a name? You know what I would have said? I would have said Jen. Exactly. That's what I would have said. Because how many freaking Jens are there? There's a million Jens. You know, if you say Jen, you're probably going to hit the jackpot. When I called in the other day, who was the only person that didn't talk? It would be Ashley because she knows she messed up. Ashley didn't mess up, bro. I told you. In fact, the only thing that Ashley may have done wrong, the only thing, and I don't blame her for this, by the way. Because everybody messes up. The only thing that Ashley could have done that could have been wrong is maybe not say, oh, you're 21, you can't go. And if she did that, I don't care. To the comedy show. Right. You cannot go to the comedy show. But you understand, bro, you never won tickets to Korn in the first place. I realize that now, Mikey. Right. Well, you realized it the day you were saying it that you didn't win tickets to corn. Because they misconfused me. Ashley told me I won tickets to corn. No, she didn't. No, I did not. She didn't. I absolutely did not. And listen, here's why I know for a fact that she wouldn't have told you that. First of all, Ashley has a little book that she has all the prizes in, and corn ain't in there. So she ain't going to say something that ain't in there. I don't know about that. I do. I do. What's your name? What's your name?
My name would be T1 Liar Boy. Okay, are you going to give me your real name so that I could write it down on a winner's sheet if I need to? My name might be Steven. Okay, Steven. Yes? You're out of line, bro. And everybody listening to you thinks you're out of line. I honestly don't care, Mikey. I have my own opinion. The only person I care that thinks about me is God, Mikey, and you should know that too. And God loves you. I don't. God loves you. I don't love you. Even though he's trying to lie and deceive. Yeah, you're lying to me. I'm a Christian, but I don't like you. Hey, listen, as a Christian, you don't have to like everybody. God loves you. I don't. I think you're a liar and a cheat. Thank goodness there's a God who don't care. He still loves you. Dude, call up Jesus and ask him for charger tickets. Exactly, dude. I would invest in prayer. And I'm not kidding you. Invest in prayer. I can't help you. I can't send you to anything. I like that this guy pulls the Christian card down. He's a big, fat liar. Right. Break out the Christian stuff, 20-year-old. Punk ass. Oh, man. Mikey Show. Hello? Tell him he should have just said Shauna. Exactly. Shauna would have been better than Sue. Good old Sue. Sue. Yeah, I talked to a Melinda. Is there a Ruth?
Yes. I believe it was Gertrude that I spoke to. I talked about Harriet, Mikey. Yeah, Harriet told me I can go. Esmeralda said. Mikey show. Hey, Mikey, this is P1 Pops. Hey, I was wondering if I can have some charger tickets for this. Try lying first. Mikey show. Hey, Mikey there? Yeah, this is Mikey. You're on the air. Hey, you should tell that guy that he's a little punk. I did. I did. What's your name, bro? My name's Chad. Chad. Are you P1? I am P1 Chad. Did you buy the best of CD yet? Not yet. You got to get it, dude. I want to get home. Hopefully there'll still be some left. Yeah, man. Sean said we sold like half of them. Yeah, they're about half gone now. They're about half gone. One day. In one day, we sold out half of them. Wow, dude. Yeah, so, and I told you, man, when the best of CDs are done, they're done. Right on, dude. All right, man, thanks. Yeah, if you want to get the best of the Mikey Show CD, it's called Pretty Sure. Pretty Sure. Pretty Sure! Yeah. So you can get it at MikeyShow.com. There's really good stuff on there. And, yeah, we made the announcement yesterday, and Sean said they're almost gone. So get them while they're hot. And you can get all the stuff you love and own it.
For your very own, like the Sky song. People love the Sky's a Beating song. Well, Sky, don't look at me like that. You know people love it. I don't think it should have been put on the CD. Why if people love it? Because we play it like five times a morning. I think that's plenty. Plus the fact I don't want to hear people playing it in their cars. I'll freak out if I hear one of my neighbors playing it in their house. You know you're going to. I'm outside proving my roses and I hear my neighbor blaring it. No. Not if it's when. Not if, it's when. They're going to play it. They're going to love it. Whatever, man. Now, this guy's at beating parties. Hey. You know what I mean? Enough. Wow, so we've been on the air for 24 minutes. We've had an exclusive from a robbery last night in Claremont and a douchebag on the air in 24 minutes. Bravo. Congratulations, Mikey Show. Hello. Hey, this is P1 Aaron. I demand to hear the beating song. I didn't do anything. Anything. Why are you demanding? You mean the beating sound you get on the best of the Mikey Show CD? You got it. But see, this is what I'm talking about. It's played like 10 times a day. I'm sure people are tired of it by now. People love it. No, I don't think so, Mikey. Bitch. Oh! Did everybody get tired of it? I know it, man. Every time I hear it, it's like the first time. Mikey Show. Hi, this is Sue. I'm the one that gave that guy a second.
Hey, Sue. Sue, when did you start working here? I didn't even know you worked here. Sue answers the phone from time to time. Thank you for calling Clear Channel. This is Sue. Boy named Sue. That's right. So there you go. What else is going on in the world? You know Eminem might get back with his ex-wife? Come on. Kim? No way. Didn't he write a song saying how he wanted to kill her and he hated her and crap? Yeah, basically. Didn't she sue him for things that he wrote? Wasn't there some real bad drama? There is some real crazy couples news today. Yes. That's one of them. Real quickly, I'm going to lay some of this out for you, and then we're going to go back to Eminem. Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen are officially divorcing. They've been separated since 01. And they're officially divorcing. I think Eddie still drinks, man. And we know that she was having issues with that. He looks like the Crypt Keeper now. He really does, man. He really does. I mean, can you believe that that guy back in the day, I mean, even in the 80s, that guy was like, chicks thought he was hot. Christina Applegate getting a divorce. Wow. Yeah.
It's really, you know, when you hear that, a lot of guys, their ears perk up. It's like you got a chance. You live in San Diego. You know, you're driving a bread truck, but there's a feeling that you have where you're like, you know what? Maybe, maybe. If I could just go to New York and get a job on Broadway, maybe, you know, her and I can hit it off. So she's getting a divorce. And yeah, and then Eminem might get back with his ex-wife. Any details, Sky? Well, you know, we talked about yesterday how his Greatest Hits album came out, which is called Curtain Call. It's, you know, Eminem's Greatest Hits. So, he normally doesn't do interviews, but yesterday he did one radio interview. Did I say what station? WKQI, Mojo in the Morning in Detroit. And he's from Detroit, right? Ah, yes, Mojo. I believe he's... I know Mojo. You do? Yeah, really well. Is he a bitboard guy or a... He was a guy. Bootcamp guy? Is he? Mm-hmm. And I'm on a... on that forum with him. Yeah. Yeah. So Eminem went on his show, you know, and I guess Eminem's people already like issued a statement saying, you know, this is pretty much the only interview he's going to do. So just because you're reading this story, don't think you're going to get Eminem, you know, coming in on your show. Just yesterday. He's from Detroit. Wanted to promote the greatest hits album, of course. So anyway, so during this radio interview yesterday, he says that him and his ex-wife Kim have reconciled and are probably going to remarry.
And then from that point on, throughout the interview, he referred to her as my wife, Kim. Really? Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Sometimes, man, people just can't let stuff go. Yeah, well, and, you know, I don't know if this has anything to do with anything, but earlier in the year, you remember Eminem went through rehab for dependency on sleep medication. I don't remember that. Yeah, so maybe him cleaning up his act had something to do with them getting back together. Maybe not. Maybe it has nothing to do with it. But, yeah, according to Eminem, him and his crazy ex-wife that they went through all that drama together are going to be getting back together. There's certain people that just can't ever leave, like, exes. It's like they thrive on the drama. It's an addiction. It's an addiction. Yes. Well, they have a kid together too, so that's probably good that they're getting back together. Unless it's real unhealthy and then the kid... Haven't you heard his new single? No, what's it called? Well, I don't know what it's called, but I've heard it on the radio. And it's all about his daughter and like, you know, and I don't know. I feel like in his lyrics, he's trying to say that he wants to be with his daughter and be with Kim and have kind of a... A normal life? A stable home. Uh-huh. Yeah.
which kind of saddens me, but whatever, I support it. I wish you knew what the name of the song was. Well, if I saw the list, yeah. Yeah, look it up. Look it up. I want to hear it. Oh, wait, wait, wait. You think it might be called Coming Home? Okay, that was just the top of my head, but if it is, I'm brilliant. That would prove it right there. That would be it. You mean that you're brilliant. That would mean that I'm genius. Okay, you find it for us. You find it for us. P1Angie. Yeah, I wanted to know if you watched the Billboard Music Awards last night. I didn't, but what were you going to tell me about? Ashley Simpson's performance. Ashley Simpson's performance? Yes. Hang on a minute. All right, hang on. Cut 12. Yeah, get to her. Yeah. Is that her singing right there? I mean, it doesn't sound as hideous as I'm used to hearing her sound. Way worse seeing her, though. Especially when she what? Oh. All right. You know, I thought she was a rock chick.
What's she doing singing, you know, hip-hop stuff? I have no idea. What's that all about? Poser. All right, thank you. All right, bye, guys. Thank you. Ashley, did you find it? Yeah, it's in green. All right. Let's hear the Eminem song. Yeah. Take this. I like that guy. Sean, don't dig him. He's brilliant. I don't mind the guy. I just think that song is lame.
Yeah, sometimes when he's doing some of that stuff, you know, it's so unrelatable to the average human being. I think, I could be wrong, but I would think that it's so unrelatable that most people are like, what are you talking about? Well, I've never put my hands on any baby's mama. Yeah. You know, and like, you know, the times where you want to spend time with your kids, but you got to hop that Learjet that you got because you had a gold record. Yeah. Like you want to spend time with your daughter, but you can't because you have to write another song. Yeah, I can relate. You dick. Come on. Give me a break, bro. Just that song. All right. You mean he doesn't do any of that in any of his other songs? Maybe he does, but some of them he doesn't. I like his music. Don't get me wrong. I like him, but the lyrics sometimes I just can't relate. See your point. Okay, let's take a break. We have a lot on the show today. A lot on the show. We got Reality Bites to do for you. We're going to do Cheater So Tell today because we got an email. Oh. And a whole bunch of stuff. Dennis Leary in the stand-up spotlight. Five-three. I had to fly from L.A. today to do the show, which is my own fault because I'm working. But here we get on a f***ing plane. There's the two nightmares, right? The fat guy. That sucks. The sweaty fat guy, right? We've all had that guy, right? And the folds of his fat are like leaning over on your f***. That's the worst. The big sweaty f*** he's eating all the time.
Do you ever sit next to a fat guy that brings his own food? Oh, man. But there's not enough food in the airplane for you, fatso? But the second worst one is the one I had today. The woman who won't shut up. Sitting behind me. Like 24. Think she's the most interesting broad in the history of broads? No! Five hours she talked for. I was trying to sleep. I was exhausted. Five hours. I work at the Travel Channel. It's really interesting. I fly all over the world and travel, travel, this and that, travel, that, travel, travel. The guy sitting next to her wasn't her boyfriend. A regular guy was like, uh-huh, uh-huh. And I'm trying to sleep, but she won't shut up. And finally, she falls asleep. And I'm like, f***ing awake. And what's with the f***ing pilots? They have to come on and tell you everything they do for the entire flight. This is the captain speaking, and we're going to be flying right now to Boston. And we'll be flying over Colorado, over Chicago, and down the East Coast. And I'll be checking in with you from time to time. This is the captain again, and just wanted to let you know you can unfasten your seatbelts now. It should be smooth sailing for the next few hours. This is your captain again. I'm wearing blue pants and a white shirt. I'm a big fan of wrestling, and my friends call me Nick. Shut the f*** up and fly the f*** up. I don't want to hear any f***ing reports unless we're going down, all right? If we're going down, come here. We're all going to die, okay? See you later. That's all.

Mikey. Hey, I'm Mexican. Eddie. I'm a dickhead. Sky. I'm a beating. Sean. I'm a psycho. Boston Rob. Doesn't really say too much. And Ashley. I'm stupid. It's the Mikey Show on Rock World 5.3. I like sweet potatoes. I just found that out this last Thanksgiving. It's a new thing in my life. Never tried it. Never had it. Never tried a sweet potato my entire life until this last Thanksgiving. Truly. A delight. Thank you. It's 643. Mostly sunny today. High temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Point Loma is 45. Right now in Prairie Mesa, it's 44 degrees. If you're a fan of old TV shows and stuff like that, which I am, and when I say old TV shows, I even mean stuff like as far back as like, you know, that Alfred Hitchcock Presents stuff, but also stuff like Knight Rider, which is stuff when Ashley was a kid. I'm going to tell you I can get that stuff real easy coming up here in just a second.
Now it's time for Mikey Sports with the Oracle. You're the Oracle? Bingo. Here's Eddie. This sports update is brought to you by Jack in the Box. Trevor Hoffman could either be a Padre today or a Cleveland Indian. Hoffman could decide today whether or not to accept Cleveland's offer. The Padres are making another late push to keep the all-time saves leader. The Indians are offering about $3 million more than the Padres, but the Padres... offering a third year. Oh, really? Yeah. You think that? I mean, you got to think that means something to him, right? I think it does, probably. He loves San Diego. Yeah. I hope he stays, man. I hope he does, too. You know, but who knows, you know? And I don't hope he stays based on anything real. I hope it from a, like, sentimental, you know, emotional attachment to a player kind of thing. Absolutely. And, you know, from every expert I've heard, they're just saying, you know, that Trevor Hoffman should be offended by the way the Padres have treated him and that he may be looking to, you know, start fresh somewhere else and all this stuff. You know, it's not that time in your career to, you know, start fresh somewhere else. I mean, a guy's up there. You know, it may be. Sometimes when you've played that long, you still have a little juice left.
Sometimes a new environment kind of gives you that extra boost. And if he still has a little juice left, then the Padres should realize it and do their thing. I mean, the guy didn't suck this year. No, not at all. So, I don't know. Yeah, we'll have to wait and see. Sean Burrows is all but gone. He will be shipped off to Tampa Bay for pitcher DeJuan Brazelton, who is a little crazy. So that'll be interesting to see him in the Padre uniform. What do you mean crazy? Last year, he went AWOL. from the team, and he said he had family problems, but the team didn't even know about it. That's weird. That is crazy. You heard other trade rumors you want to talk about now? There's a lot of other Padre trade rumors being mentioned about Adam Eaton, Mark Loretta, Dave Roberts, and Akinora Otsuka are all being mentioned in trade talks. Really? Yeah. I don't know. This could be a whole new Padre team next year. Do you think that the thing that you sent me the other day, that there's any truth to that rumor? It's a big rumor right now. They're saying Mark Loretta and Dave Roberts to the Red Sox for David Wells and Doug Mirabelli, the catcher. Really? Yeah. What do you think? I would think that would be a bad trade for the Padres. Yeah, I mean, David Wells, who was a Padre last year. Yeah, last year, right? Well, two years ago. Yeah. Not this last season, the season before. Right.
old and large. You know what I mean? They are in love with the guy. They love David Wells. I don't know if it's because he's a lefty. I don't really understand what the obsession is with David Wells. I think he's a good pitcher, but I think he's way past his prime. Loretta had a real down year last year, but he's capable of doing a lot more. I like Doug Mirabelli. We need some catching because Ramon's going to be gone. Right. And I don't like getting rid of Dave Roberts. I like him, you know, at the top of the lineup. Right. So I don't like that trade. Yeah. Hopefully it won't happen. But, I mean, that's the big rumor going on right now. Yeah. So we'll have to wait and see. The Dodgers have a new manager. Former Red Sox manager Grady Little receives a two-year deal from L.A. and will manage the Dodgers from now on. The Aztecs basketball team dropped their third game of the season, losing last night to Cal, 82-64. They had 20 turnovers in the game and are now 4-3 on the season. And just when you thought things couldn't get worse for the Philadelphia Eagles, they do. Running back Brian Westbrook injured his foot in Monday night's game and will be put on injury reserve and lost for the season. That's a look at sports. I don't know if you're a fan of old TV stuff. I am.
And a lot of the stuff isn't even old TV stuff, what they got going on on iTunes right now. You get all these NBC shows on iTunes. $1.99. They got The Office. They got Conan O'Brien. They have The Tonight Show. They have all these cool Surface, all these cool NBC shows. But then they got old-time stuff, like Knight Rider. And, you know, like I said, the Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Lots of TV shows available. You can download for two bucks a show. And you don't have to have an iPod either. All you got to do is download that iTunes, and you can have it on your computer. Just watch it at work. You don't have to have an iPod? No. You can watch it right on your computer and be unproductive at work. It's great. Yeah, you just go to iTunes, you download the software, and you're good to go. Yeah, you're good to go. Wow. That's pretty cool. So, just in time for Christmas, huh, Sky? Those iPods are not cheap. Yeah. They're not cheap, man. I don't know if I'm going to ever get one. Do you even want one? Like this video stuff is kind of cool, but now that I know I can do it like on my laptop, that's cool. And I already have a little MP3 player. I mean, granted, it was one of the first MP3 players ever made. It holds three songs. Well, actually, it holds 10, Eddie. But, you know, that's fine for me. So, you know, you guys know me. I'm too stingy to go out and buy something like that for myself. Yeah, we're well aware of that.
Yeah, we get it, free lunch. Excuse you, that's not what I'm saying. Are you going to the King Kong premiere Monday? Oh, I don't know, I was trying to get an answer out of my husband last night. And did he go to the doctor? If he wants to go, no, but he's up and running now. He's all back, back in action. I bet he could have been back in action so much sooner. He never goes to the doctor. You gotta make him, force him, you're his wife. I forced him before, like the time he passed out for no reason. The guy was sick for a month. It was 10 days. Holy cow. 10 days. Yeah. So he's completely back and feeling good? Yeah. Today's his first day working again. So he's working. He's up and running. But I don't think we're going to go to the King Kong premiere. He said it depended where it was. Mission Valley. And basically, if it's not in Escondido or San Marcos, then that means we're probably not going. All right. We've got to take a break, right? All right. Let's take a break. Here's some things coming up. Reality Bites, which I can tell you right now, some of the show ideas that we're going to give you for reality shows after 7 o'clock are enough to make your head spin. Cheaters Hotel, holy cow. We're going to find out if somebody's cheating. It could be a husband or wife, boyfriend or girlfriend. You write us and tell us. We're going to find all this stuff out coming up on The Mikey Show. The Best of The Mikey Show CD, pretty sure, is out there and you can get it.

Mikey Show. Let me find him. Let me do it. What's up, Mikey? It's P1 Johnny. What's up, Johnny? Two quick things, man. One, thanks for all the info about Sleep Train, man. I just bought mine yesterday. You got a Sleep Train mattress? Oh, dude, just yesterday. Sleep Comfort, man. Oh, you got the Select Comfort. I got the Select Comfort, man. I slept for 13 hours, and I've never done that before. Oh, my God, dude. And I'm telling you, like, I wake up to, listen, it's a good thing, but it's also a bad thing because you're not going to want to get out of bed. You get on one of those mattresses, you don't want to get out of bed. That's true. They are so damn comfortable. That's great, dude. And they take your old set out and all that? Yep. Yep. That's what they do. That's awesome. Thank you very much, man. Not a problem, dude. We'll see you. You're listening to The Mikey Show. And I wear a lot of black because I believe that it's slimming. And as soon as my work stuff's done, I get really excited because that is time to rub one out. Sky. Getting older. I'm 27 now. Sean. I know what you're doing. I'm not a moron. Buster Rob. I'm playing the fifth right now. I'm not going to hear about this until the end of who knows when. And Ashley. When I get off work, I'll just have a little quick snapper. Like whatever. It's the Mikey Show on Rock 105.3.
Mikey's show at 656. Today, we're going to see high temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Oceanside's 38. Right now, Coronado's 45 degrees. Dodgers have a new manager, former Red Sox manager Grady Little. We're sitting a two-year deal from Los Angeles. All right, folks. Welcome back. Welcome back to the show. Man, it's getting cold outside. At nighttime, it's getting real super cold. Early in the morning, you get up real super cold. I love it. You get a fireplace going, you have the whole deal. Sky, speaking to your husband, how did... How did he react yesterday when you came home, all the stuff we were talking about? Because we were talking about kids and Sky wanting Mr. Sky to go to parenting classes. Well, to be honest with you, Mikey, it was never brought up in my household yesterday, which leads me to believe my husband didn't hear it.
Yeah, he discovered that there's this place called Tool Mart near our house. So I think he spent a little bit of time there yesterday because he was yapping my ear off about it. But yeah, so I believe he didn't hear that whole discussion yesterday. Skye, I would like to say something about your yesterday because I never said this on the air. Okay. The way that you, like, the way that you were, I know that we were disagreeing, and I, normally I have your back on the air, and I know I didn't really yesterday, because we, like, kind of had different viewpoints. Right. So I was sitting back, and I was really, like, analyzing how you were arguing your argument yesterday. Okay. And I really think that you do a good job, and it's one of your skills of communicating your argument in a very well-worded way. And I'm starting to realize. You're actually kissing your butt. There you go. No, no, no, no. Listen, I had an epiphany. That's very nice. And you used that in the right context. Wow. That's awesome. I had an epiphany, Mikey, because she does a really good job of what I can't do, and that's articulating thoughts clearly on, you know, the air. That's true. And yesterday, when the one time I wanted to say my point, I just messed it all up, and in my head it made sense, but when I actually verbally said it, it was, like, all mixed up. Yeah. She verbally said it. Yeah, well, she...
Ashley uses too many words. I told her that. When she just said verbally said it, she didn't need to say that. She could have said when I said it. It's because she adds the words she doesn't need to add. Yeah. But I think that my brother mentioned to me when I went home for Thanksgiving. And I really think, Skye, watching you yesterday and how you say things on the air, I think that I need to go back to college to learn how to do that. So you feel that if you go back to college, Ashley, that you will be able to articulate like Skye. Correct. Well, thank you, Ashley. I mean, that's very, very nice of you. Look at Sean's face. No, I'm serious. No, Sean just got a look on his face like someone farted in the room. Why, Sean? Well, listen, I'm going to explain it to you. Sean will just be, Sean will... verbally treat you as a serial killer would, and that's not necessary. That's not necessary. He doesn't need to chop you up and stick you in his basement verbally. Okay. But I'm going to give you my opinion on this. First of all, no amount of college education is going to help you to articulate better, in my opinion. Thank you. But that's not true. Let me finish my thought, and then we can have a debate about it, if you'd like.
Oh, my. But I never went to college, Ashley. In fact, I never graduated from high school. I got a GED. I believe that some people are born with something and some people aren't. Sky was born with an ability to freaking argue. She was born with an ability to freaking debate. And she's also an extremely intelligent woman. But I'm going to give you the biggest piece of advice that I could give you. Okay. I'm going to tell you what will help you to articulate better. Don't say reading books. Ashley. Because they didn't do that in college. Ashley. What? Something you don't have to do in college. I'm sorry, sweetheart, but you just read my mind. That's it. What is the last book you read? I read half of a book called Swimming.
And what was it? Describe the kind of book it was and who it's for. It was a novel. It was a novel. I would say it was for people that are in my age group. I mean, it was a novel that was like a sexual, like, I love, like, sexual novels because, and they keep my attention more, like, sexual, like, dramas and murder mysteries. Did it. Did it bore you, and that's why you stopped reading it? About halfway through. It started to bore you. It bored me, and I got out of it. And you were reading, and as you were reading, you realized after a few pages that you had read a couple of pages and been thinking about something completely different. Correct. Okay. I'm going to help you. I'm going to suggest some stuff to you, and I now know a couple of things that I'm going to do for Christmas for you. Okay. But the secret, and I told my brother this because my brother's also inarticulate. I'm not inarticulate. My brother Steve. My brother Steve. I'm not inarticulate. Yes, Steve-o. What's the point? You just said you were. No, I just want to learn how to be more critic. I want to be able to critically think on the air. In other words, you want to be articulate. Yes. Well, to each his own. Okay. But, Ashley, I'm telling you. I'm telling you, Ashley. And I mean read everything.
I mean get a hold of magazines that you enjoy. Ashley, I discovered this really early in life, thank God. And Eddie, the same thing. Eddie reads, man. He reads magazines. I mean, he may not be reading novels and stuff like that, but he reads. Reading is really important because people that write articles in newspapers, sports magazines, things like that, they are articulate. And when you hear examples or you read examples over and over again of people that articulate, you pick up on it. And I'm telling you, kid, you find stuff that you like. Find stuff that you like and you'll get sucked in. But what do you think? I find that very flattering what you said, Ashley. Thank you very much. That's very sweet of you to say all those things. You know, like one of the big pieces of advice you gave me, Mikey, when I started working with you in radio is for me just to embrace who I truly am and just go with that. You know what I mean? I'm not saying that Ashley shouldn't better herself, but I don't. That may make her a better air talent.
Oh, I see. Oh, I totally get what you're saying. She should be Ashley. I get what you're saying. Yeah, but she wants to improve herself. No, like, Skye, let me ask you this. Let me ask you, as a female to a female on air, because there's not that many of us, don't you think that the competition is kind of different with the males? Like, they can kind of base it on their... Their talent, whereas maybe the women need to be able to stand up for themselves and have intelligence to hold their own, especially on a male morning show. Well, so didn't education have anything to do with that? Because I thought it would. Well, it did for me, but part of it was, you know, me growing up with an older brother who used to always beat me down. You know, that's an equal part of it as well that makes me survive on this show. But, you know, it kind of depends, like, what job do you want to do? Like, do you want to be a news girl? Yeah, because I eventually want to be, like, yeah, be able to be a news girl and totally read news and be very good at it, like, articulately. I want to be articulate.
Okay, here's the thing, Ashley. See, this is what happens. Ashley, listen. Now, here's the deal. Overload, overload. Here's the deal. Cute. What I'm about to say may be right, it may be wrong. Just an opinion. My opinion is worth what it costs. But in my opinion... You lost me. But in my opinion, you can be extremely successful and make a good living. A good living. Very comfortable living. Where you're getting yourself nice cars, you're getting a house, you're doing good. Doing what you're doing. You can grow in the position that you're in. Being Ashley. Being Ashley. Hang on a minute. It would be like me, it would be Sky somehow having a goal to be on a show like the Howard Stern show. It's not who she is.
It's just not who she is. And to have that goal, to be that person, is not who she is. Sky, you got it. I got what you were saying. I finally got what you were saying. I mean, to be honest, I probably shouldn't even be on this show. That's true. Let's get that trick from Disneyland. I appreciate my job, and I like being here now. Now, listen, Ashley. The reason that Sky's right, She is not exactly the, she's not what you would think of as the perfect fit for the Mikey show, but she is. And the reason that she is is because she adds a balance to the show. Right. You know, it's such a sausage festival on this show that you need a female that can add the other point of view. Otherwise, it's just no fun. It really isn't. Believe it or not, the beating that Sky is is what makes the show fun. Okay. You didn't need to call me a beating right there. You know what I'm saying, though, right, Sky? No, I don't. I mean, you understand what I'm saying. No. And Ashley, if you were on a show like this one and any other, man, you get beat up, too. They'll beat you up. Right. You know what I mean? Now, if you strive to be more articulate, it is possible. You have to read. And if you do read, you'll notice yourself.
saying words in a, you know, the words that you've never used before, more concise, articulating yourself in a way that you never thought you could, and you'll go, whoa, where did that come from? And you'll realize it came from you reading stuff. Eddie, what do you think? I can't imagine that. Could you imagine Ashley sitting here in this chair doing the job I do? Well, no. I mean, she doesn't understand the news, let alone be able to read it. You don't know that. Excuse me. Skye. See, that's what I'm talking about. But she's not, but Eddie, she's not stupid. She's not. Ashley is not stupid. And I absolutely think I could do Skye's job. And that's why I, you know what I'm, that's, it's my goal to be able to be articulate. Here's the deal. Ashley, you could do, you could. You could be a news person. There's no doubt about it. The problem is, is that you would be picked on as that news person, as somebody that is a airhead. Which is my point. But see, Sky is...
This is who I am in my free time. I go out with my girlfriends and we discuss politics and protesting and the propositions. So that's who I truly am inside. It's like me coming in here trying to... Yeah, what if we were to hire Skye and we said to Skye, Skye, your job on this show is that you are supposed to talk about what chicks in bikinis are up to at the beach and what they're drinking. Yeah. And like the dudes that they're having sex with. And that's you. That's who you're going to be going to clubs, knowing what's going on in the hip hop community, like being able to talk. That's what we want. And Sky would be like, uh, okay. And she could probably go hang out at the clubs and she could probably go do all that stuff and come in here and kind of fake it. But we would, it wouldn't take long to expose her. Right. As that not being her. But all I'm saying is that I don't think being able to be more articulate or even just being able to speak better, like on the air and put your thoughts out there better, affects your character of who you are. You're right. It affects me. You're right. And that's all I'm saying. You are right. You're right about that. And that's why I said if you want to be more articulate, the answer would be, you know, I don't believe it's going to be going and taking courses at a college.
I think that what it'll be is being exposed to reading. Reading. If I could offer an analogy, Mikey. Go ahead, Sean. Your mind is not unlike any kind of muscle in your body. Like, let's say you want washboard abs. Well, the way you get that is you work it out. You work them out. You do sit-ups and crunches and whatever. The way you work out your mind is you read. You exercise it. And when you do that, it gets better and better and better. It's funny because every phone call we got right now is people saying, yeah, you got to read. You got to read. You got to read. The answer is to it. I mean, you even knew what I was going to say before I said it. The answer is magazines, books, reading. Reading. Unless you are the person who, by the way, I was not. I was not.
I believe that I'm an intelligent guy, but I know that I would not be able to articulate myself like I do today if I didn't read. And I read everything. When I go to the bathroom, if there is nothing in there to read, I'm not kidding you. I will grab a shampoo bottle that's next to me. And that's the truth. I'll read ingredients in toothpaste while I'm sitting there. I have to. I love to read. I'm reading that Chronicles of Narnia right now because Boston Rob got me all interested in it. Hey, listen. It's seventh grade reading level, but I love it. I've got subscriptions to probably four magazines. Eddie's the same way. This guy reads Entertainment Weekly from cover to cover. He reads sports magazines. He reads a lot. Playboy. Playboy. He does read Playboy. He's the guy that reads Playboy. I do. So, anyway. They have good articles in Playboy, I've heard. I'm going to get you a book that I think you'll like. I was thinking about it on the way to work. I was thinking about it on the way to work this morning. And I'd recommend it to a lot of people just because it's fascinating, interesting reading. Yeah. I just want to be able to do that. So, yeah, I guess reading, I guess. My attention span is so short, Mikey. I know, Ashley, my brother says the same thing. My brother says the same thing. He does not like to read. He's never read a book in his life, my brother Steve. He's never read a book. A book.
From beginning to end. And I'm telling you that you have to find something that you're interested in. You've got to find something that you're interested in. That book that you read called Swimming, it didn't get you. You were able to put it down. You've got to get a book that you're not able to put down. And they're out there. And then you'll get addicted to reading. So I don't have to go back to college. No, you do not. Oh, that's awesome. We'll be back. With IQs that can only be measured by an electron microscope, it's the Mikey Show. How can you talk if you haven't got a brain? I don't know. I don't know. Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking. On Rock 1053. See the 34th Annual Parade of Lights December 11th and 18th on San Diego Bay with more than 75 boats decorated in holiday flair. The parade sails from the east end of Shelter Island to the downtown waterfront. For details, visit sdparadeoflights.org. We've got a pretty typical ride in our hands right now. We've got South on 5, kind of struggled in pockets of slowing here from Las Flores all the way down to Manchester. Now there's a new accent, South 5, right at that 56 connector here in Carmel Valley.
A couple cars in the middle lanes. Now medical crews are responding to that one, so expect a backup there. South 15, always bumper to bumper from the 78 down to Via Rancho Parkway, and then you're pretty much on your way. This East County commute, westbound 52, starting to stack up out of Santee, heading up over the summit. Westbound 8, a little tight from East Main Street to 2nd Street, and then some reduced speeds now from Fletcher Parkway to Lake Murray, and then you've got the normal backup developing right around that 805 connector. The westbound 94 King Freeway, not too bad, man, just a minor delay at the 805. It gets a little heavier, though, from the 15. It's slow and go in the downtown. And both the 5 and the 5 northbound is starting to get pretty tough now out of Chula Vista in the National City on both these freeways. 8.05 backs up again to the 94. Then again from the 15 freeway in the North Park. Hit you one more time out of Kearney Mesa, heading up over to 52. I'm Rick Lawrence on San Diego's Rock Station, Rock 105.3. Control the excitement of San Diego Chargers football. On Rock 105.3. Every touchdown. Every tackle. Every game. 105.3. He's got a love. So go there. Or all your co-workers. Sure, sure. Maybe the troops. Oh, good. The troops. Wow. Good American. Yes. What about your favorite NFL football team? Maybe you'd like to say, hey, I like the Chargers. I'd like to buy all the starters. One of the new Mikey Show CDs. But nobody get it for Roman Oban. I'm getting it for him for Christmas. Well, you just said it right there on the radio. Now he's going to know. Oh, yes. Or all your broads.
Yeah, there you go. All your, as Boston Rob says, all your broads. Okay. TV, TV, TV, TV, TV, TV, TV, TV, TV. That's what I'm saying. This song gets in your head. Reality bites, bites, bites. This song is so catchy that Sky was singing it out loud in the hallway right now, interrupting the Jeff and Jer show. It felt so bad because, you know, like, we're all in these soundproof studios, but Jeff and Jer, you know, it was too warm in there, so they have this huge AC duct going into their studio so they can't close their door. And I wasn't even thinking about it, and I'm walking right in front of their studio. I'm going, reality, bikes, and all of a sudden.
I see all their heads just turn and stare at me because they're on-air, lights on, the doors open. You have such a soft voice. You have such a soft speaking voice. Yeah, I am a soft talker. That is true. Reality Bites. Let's see. All right, so the way Reality Bites works is Eddie, Sean, and I write some reality show ideas. Sky presents them to the listeners, and you decide which one you like the best. It's pretty easy, pretty straightforward. What's the prize today, Eddie? A great prize today. Tickets to the Chargers-Dolphins game and passes to see King Kong at our Rock 105.3 premiere of that on Monday. You know, Ashley won last week. She wrote one and actually won for her idea. Although Ashley is not playing this week. It is Sean and Eddie and I. And you have to pick a horse. Somebody's going to pick who they would like to hitch their horse to, and hopefully that person will win the game for them. Don't forget you can text, too. No, no, no, no. We're not doing that? I'll tell you why. I'll explain to you off the air. But we'll be back very soon. P1 Manny, who would you like to hitch your horse to? Eddie. I'm sorry? Eddie. Okay, hang on the line. P1 Eric, who do you want? Hi, Sean.
You got it. Hang on a line. And P1 Mary, you got me, okay? Okay. All right, hang on. All right, Skye, give us the reality show ideas for today. All right. Quick disclaimer. I just read these. I do not write these. But you embellish. I do not embellish. These are not my ideas in any sort of way. I just read them verbatim. Thank you. Pretty weak to lie like that. Yeah. We all know you add your own little commentary. Well, no, I don't. I wish I could, but... I've been specifically told I'm not allowed to. So go ahead, Sky. Out of all of my ideas, I have yet to hear one that's been untouched. That's right. Out of every idea for a reality show I've ever written. Right. And I must say, Skye a lot of times improves upon the idea. I'll be honest with you guys. I basically give her a headline and she comes up. Wow. I've never done that. Whoa. Skye, you're good. Oh, well, none of those things are true. She's truly the best. Go ahead, Skye. To be honest, the last two times I've just written on the piece of paper, you know what to do. Shut up. There you go, Skye. She's going to change it all in. Oh, yeah. Whatever.
All right, Sky, go ahead and give us our reality show ideas. Wink, wink. Rock and roll finger quotes. Thank you, Dane. I knew you were going to steal that. Yeah, he told us to. He said to steal it. He did, actually. I know. All right, reality show idea number one is low attention span theater. Low attention span what? I already said. I didn't hear. I was laughing. I didn't hear what you said. Low attention span theater. Theater? What's that? Did you mean low attention span theater? That's what I said. I'm sorry. I heard you say low attention span theater. Can we just smooth along, please? Yeah, sorry. Go ahead. Theater. Was that Ashley making fun of you there? Yes. Uh-oh. Very harsh way. Wow. Pour some milk over here. Scott, you know you're articulate, but some of the words, you don't pronounce them right. So, I mean. I mean, maybe I can teach you. Look at Skye. She's counting to 10 in her mind. She's counting to 10 in her mind. You can see it. Go ahead, Skye. Go ahead, Skye. You know, maybe we should have Ashley read these and see how well she does with us. I'd read them just fine, thank you. Oh, I'm sure you would. Go ahead, Skye. Why do you hate me? You're the one who started it.
Thank you for the nice thing. And you're the one who attacks me out of nowhere. For the record. Just go, Skye. Okay, just go. I can't hang right now. Okay, so this is low attention span theater. Thank you. This show takes four kids with ADD and puts them through their paces. After a week detoxing from the Ritalin, these kids are asked to do various tasks like watch a PBS special on the life of George Washington and then give an oral report on it. Contestants are told that if they answer more than three questions wrong, their parents will be sold into white slavery and eventually put to sleep by Nazi veterinarians. At the end of the experiment, the child with the highest aptitude wins a karaoke machine and a box of hammers. The perfect gift for a child with random thoughts and no concentration, that's a low attention span theater.
Reality show number two is called Snort the Line. Five Santee cokeheads live in a double wide for a month and compete for a lifetime supply of cocaine if they can snort the line. But it's not just any line. These lines might be laced with PCP, shrooms, or even Oxy10. Yes, the zit cream is an amazing high. Don't miss the exciting immunity challenges like bus stop homeless whore off or the dirty needle human hypodermic Christmas tree. Snort the line is totally contagious. Just like the HIV most contestants will get from the challenges. Holy cow. Snort the line, hosted by Danny Bonaduce. Snort the line. Our third and final reality show idea is Mr. and Mr. Smith. This reality show follows two flaming gay guys as they tickle.
Oops, I mean tackle crime in Hillcrest. The private dicks, and I'm not sure how private they are, go around Hillcrest solving gay crimes such as who stole the rainbow flag from Hunter's window? Or who was that queen wearing all that eyeliner? That must be some sort of fashion crime, right? Or the biggest crime to hit Hillcrest since they started letting straights into the Corvette Diner. Fudge, fudge, who packed the fudge? Well, maybe that crime's not so bad after all. It's private eye for the gay guy. It's Mr. and Mr. Smith. Wow, that was a good one, Sky. I just read it, and I was supposed to be doing a gay voice, but couldn't really figure it out. Give us the reality show ideas again, then we'll open the phones to listeners to vote. Okay. Reality show idea number one was low attention span theater. When you take a bunch of kids with ADD, you detox them from Ritalin and make them watch boring stuff. Okay. Number two is snort the line. When you get five Santee Coke heads, put them in a double wide and have them snort a bunch of different stuff.
And the third idea is Mr. and Mr. Smith, where two gay guys try and fight crime in Hillcrest. Gotcha. All right, so you're voting on those. Give us a call, 570-1053. Mikey Show, which one do you like? Snort your line. Mikey Show, which one? Theater. Mikey Show, which one? Snort the line. Mikey Show, which one? Snort your line. Mikey Show, which one? Snort the line. Mikey Show, which one? Mr. and Mr. Smith. Mikey's show, which one? Hello? Mikey's show, which one? Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Sky, how many we got? Seven. We need three more. Mikey's show, which one? Number three, Mr. and Mr. Smith. Mikey's show, which one? Theater. Hello? Mikey's show, which one? Short attention span theater. All right. Wow. I think this is the closest it has ever been.
But our winner today is P1 Eric for picking Sean and Snort the Line. Eric, are you there? Yeah. Congratulations. Thank you. You hit your horse. My first football game. There you go. Oh, wow. There you go. All right, hang on the line, will you? Yeah, definitely. All right, Skye, who wrote what? Well, it was a tie for second place today with Mikey and low attention span theater. Theater. And Eddie with Mr. and Mr. Smith. There you go. All right, we got Cheaters Hotel coming up before the hour's over. Don't go anywhere. It's a Mikey show. They say monkey this job, and we prove it every morning. It's the Mikey Morning Show on Rock. So how'd your date with Julie go? She wanted to go to this fancy French place. You didn't take her, did you? Yeah, big mistake. Get all dressed up. Not a fan of the fancy place myself. Next time she wants fancy, just take her to Carl's Jr. Yeah, that'd go over good. I'm serious. They have a new $6 burger with portobello mushrooms on it. Yeah, and you don't have to get all dressed up. Well, you could go through the drive-thru and not get dressed at all. Are you ever going to let me live that down? Introducing the portobello mushroom $6 burger. New Carl's Jr.

This is just in single digits, approaching College Avenue. And that is just nuts to butts here to an accident blocking lanes just before the 805 connector. So that's all messed up out of Lemon Grove now on the King.
freeway. Getting past that mess, you're going to find another slowdown now from 25th Street in the downtown. Westbound East getting tougher now as well. Watch for the slowdown from Las Coches all the way up towards 2nd Street. And then it backs up on you here from El Cajon Boulevard. Slow and go over the Grosmont Summit through La Mesa all the way in towards the 805 connector here. So everything out of the East County is very tough this morning. Both the 5 and 805 northbound out of the South Bay as well. Struggling heavily out of Chula Vista out through National City. The 5 Freeway continues slow all the way up towards the bridge. The 805 continues slow in towards Mission Valley. And then again coming up from Mesa College. That's a slow one. Bumper to bumper again over the 52 toward the Golden Triangle. I'm McLaurin. It's on San Diego's rock station, Rock 105.3. This is the Mikey Morning Show. Featuring Mikey. I'm a conformist. I like what's popular. Eddie. Booning leads to Forky. Sky. I apologize for my tone and for the fact his feelings were hurt. Sean. I wish you would just... Stop it. Boston Rob. I'm a lazy idiot. And Ashley. I feel really stupid now. It's the Mikey Show. I fired up this morning. On Rock 105.3. Back to the show. It is 737. Mostly sunny today. High temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Carlsbad's 46 right now downtown. 45 degrees. Hey, do you guys remember from American Idol, Julia D'Amato? That was like the second season, right? Yeah, you remember that name, don't you, Eddie? Yep. She got arrested and...
I will tell you for what right after this. Now it's time for Mikey's Sports Call. You're the oracle? Bingo. Here's Eddie. Trevor Hoffman, a Cleveland Indian? That sounds wrong. I just can't even imagine. I know. I don't want to hear hills bells there. Yeah, it's a possibility. Hoffie could decide today whether or not to accept Cleveland's offer. But the Padres are making a late push to keep their all-time saves leader. Indians are offering about $3 million more than the Padres, but the Padres are offering a third year in the contract. So that's the big debate right now, whether or not F. Hoffey wants the additional year or he wants more money now. So we'll have to wait and see. Sean Burrows is a goner, though. He's going to be shipped off to Tampa Bay for pitcher DeJuan Brazelton. And then there's lots of other Padres trade rumors being answered right now. Is DeJuan Brazelton a good pitcher? Well, he was 1-8 last year. What that means for people that maybe don't understand sports is that he won one game and he lost eight of them. Correct. What do you think that's about? Do you think that...
like maybe pitching coaches or something like that, they see a guy and they go, oh, he would be a great pitcher if he just fixed this and I could help him fix that. Well, he was Tampa Bay's opening day starter last year, so they saw something in him. And Tampa Bay is a bad team, you know, so those losses might not have all been his fault. Right. And if he has, you know, skill, then maybe on a better team he'll do better. Okay. So that's maybe what they're thinking. All right. I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. The other trade rumors, other Padres in trade rumors being mentioned right now are Adam Eaton, Mark Loretta, Dave Roberts, and Akinora Uska. They're all being mentioned in trade talks right now. I may not be a season ticket holder this next coming up season. What? Because you don't want to be? No, I want to be. I don't think my wife and I can afford to put dough there right now. Really? And we got to pay for them, like, now. Yeah. It's just we don't have the dough. That sucks. But at least they'll be able to watch them on television again. Yeah, that's true. Cool. Dodgers have a new manager. Former Red Sox manager Grady Little received a two-year deal from L.A. to manage their club. And the Aztec basketball team dropped a third game of the season last night, losing to Cal 82-64. That's a look at sports. All right, so you guys remember this name. Julia D'Amato.
I don't really remember what she looked like. She's like the tall, thin, brunette, just kind of average looking. Here, while you tell the story, I'll Google you a picture of her. All right. Julia D'Amato was arrested, and it was for possession of cocaine and two pipes. Cut 21. Caldwell and Julia D'Amato. Unfortunately, the journey ends for one of you tonight. One of you is safe. One of you goes home. After the nationwide vote, Julia and Kim. Kim, you are safe. Julia D'Amato. Oh, no. What a way to start a career. Hopefully. Absolutely. I did my best. And, you know, you can only learn from each time you're on stage. She doesn't sound like the greatest singer I've ever heard. You finding anything, Sky? Yeah, here we go. IM me something about Julia D'Amato that I can look at her picture.
Okay. I remember that name. I just don't remember what she looks like. Yeah. Once you see these pictures, you'll know. She's really into drugs. Well, we don't know that. Well, she had Coke and two pipes. Yeah, she had. Maybe she was carrying them for her friend. Well, she had a small amount of white residue that they say tested positive for cocaine. Oh, I remember her. Yeah. This is a very pretty girl. Two pipes. Yeah, I thought she was real pretty. Really? She's just aight. Big boobs. I remember that. Oh, I bet you do remember that, huh? Of course. Oh, I certainly do remember Julia D'Amato now. Okay. Wow. Google her up, everybody. She's in some trouble, that little one. You want to see what she looks like? Oh, hello. Yeah. All right, P-Rob. And I think that was the deal. She was real cute, but I don't think anybody thought that she was exceptionally talented. Okay, so that's that. I just wanted to let people know. Oh, did you hear that they were hauling out all of the stuff that Randy Duke Cunningham took as bribes, laying it out for everybody to see and letting the media film it? Yeah, I saw it on the news last night. Holy cow, man. What was it? What did they have?
It was just a lot of high-end furniture. Antiques. French antiques, Persian carpets. You have rugs. Things made out of walnut and marble and sleigh beds. Yeah, so they took all that stuff, laid it out in a big old warehouse yesterday, let all the media come in and say, hey, you know. Take a look at this. Take a look. Wow. I guess they haven't released the details yet, but eventually they'll be auctioning it off and then giving the money to the government. So and then also the same with his house. Let me tell you something, man. If I was an elected government official like that, I would be terrified, terrified to accept stuff, you know, because you'd think the possibility of getting in trouble be so bad, man. Right. I mean, I guess he thought he had a way of doing it where he wasn't going to get in trouble. It did not work out. The other big thing that they're showing on the news here in San Diego is that there's an Indian tribe that wants to build another casino. So if you're into going to Viejas and you're into going to all these different places, they got a new one that they want to do. Right, Sky?
Yeah, this one has actually was just approved late yesterday, I believe. And the deal they came up with, so this is how I understand it. Basically, this Indian casino that wants to build a new casino, it owns the Indian reservation right next door to Viejas. And so they were planning on building their casino about one mile down the road from where Viejas is. Now, Viejas got involved and they started talking about it. And they thought it would be best for everyone involved. It's this neighboring casino. built their casino on viejas land right next door to viejas so it'll be easier like the strip right in vegas yeah so it's slowly kind of building a strip but you know i think it works well for everybody because for the new casino you know the roads are already built water treatment you know it'll be easier for crime prevention and then it's good for viejas because instead of somebody going out there saying oh which casino do i want to go which you probably would if they were a mile apart from each other
You know, you're probably going to decide one you want to go to. Yeah, one or the other. You're not going to go to both, you know. You're not going to go to one and then hop in your car and go to the other. I mean, maybe you would. You could, but... Probably not. Yeah, but it's just like the Strip. When you stay in a hotel there on the Strip, you normally visit the surrounding hotels first. Yeah, because you just walk across the street. Exactly. So I think that's what they're going to try and do. They're calling it, this is the first example of casino consolidation here in San Diego County. So this may be the wave of the future of these Indian casinos making deals with each other to build. on the same land to draw more people to those locations. The other thing that we talked about earlier was the robbery at the Blarney Stone Pub last night in Claremont. And we had a patron on who was there when all these big strapping Irish guys took down these three black dudes that came in there and were going to rob the place. And he says that the guy that had the gun, three of these guys, one of them had a gun. The guy was 14. Black kid.
14 years old, and the patrons of the Blarney Stone took him down. Now, how about this? How about this for you? See, if this perks your interests up as you're driving to work this morning, you want to know what the worst-case scenario would be if San Diego County got bird flu? Worst-case scenario, peoples, if that bird flu were to make it to the U.S. and get here to San Diego. The worst-case scenario, one million people infected. And you want to know something? I'm going to tell you right now. No brainer. I'd get it. No brainer. I'm one of those million. I mean, it's like there's not even a slim chance that I ain't one of them. People get sick. I'm getting it. Why? Because I'm fat and my immune system is down. Because I'm not healthy. Healthy people have a better chance of staying healthy. But because I am, you know, a fat kid, I'm going to get it. If it were to happen. Yeah, they released a statement yesterday, like Mikey said, saying 1 million could be affected in a worst case scenario. 3,000 people, they say, would die. Holy cow. Yeah, 500,000 would need outpatient care. 12,000 would need hospital care. Now, what would we do to treat a million sickies in San Diego? What would we do? I don't know. Send people to, I mean, you know what I bet it would be like? You know what I bet it would be like? What?
I bet it would be like the same situation when people vote. They would have places set up to inoculate you, to try to treat you, I guess. I don't know. But then do you start quarantining areas? I mean, can you do that? I don't know. Tell you what, man, I'd want to. Yes. I wouldn't want to go to the grocery store. You know, because what do you do when you go to the grocery store to the produce section? What do you do? Touch everything. You touch everything. Stupid carts. Oh, those carts are hideous. Those carts, when you put your hands on the carts and then you go to rub your eyes or pick your nose like I do, it's going to get into your mucus membrane, spread throughout your body. Next thing you know, you're clucking like a chicken. Sucks. Yeah, it sucks when you're clucking like a chicken. Yeah, I don't want to cluck. All right, we got to take a break. We'll be back. And when we come back... Cheater's Hotel. We're going to find out live on the radio if somebody's cheating. It's sensational. We'll be back. It's the Mikey Show. He's unstoppable. He is. we get somebody on the line that suspects that their husband or wife, boyfriend, or girlfriend may be cheating. And on the line with me right now is P1 Tim, wrote me an email, wanted us to call his... Is this your girlfriend? Yeah. Okay, what's her name? Her name's Andrea. Okay, I'm going to write some stuff down, bro. And how old are you, Tim? I'm 27. All right, how long have you guys been going out? About two years now. Wow. You ever suspected her of cheating before? Never before, no. All right. And you say two years? Mm-hmm. All right. How old is Andrea? She's 24. Give me some background. What makes you think that Andrea might be cheating? I don't know if you read my email, but I'm sure you probably did. One of my best friends. If I'm being honest, I didn't. You didn't? All right. No, but my producer did. Eddie read it. I read it. All right, well.
This is the deal. One of my best friends is living with us right now. He doesn't have a job. He just needs a place. He's been there for about three months. And I just get this weird feeling in my gut that there's something going on with him and my girlfriend. His name's Steven. When I'm around, there's this weird thing and they're all uncomfortable around each other when I'm there. Have you ever asked her about it? No, I haven't asked her about it. You know, it's funny that you say that that's the situation because I know people that will not even allow that kind of a situation in their home or wherever they're living, you know, because of things like that. You know, they just don't need the headache of wondering, thinking about it or whatever. Yeah, I mean, I haven't had a problem with, like, there's never been a suspicion in my mind before about her and anybody else. And this is like, you know, somebody that I've known for...
practically my, no, 10 years, me and Steve have been friends, so it's not like, I would never assume it, it's just this, you know, it's like, truly believe, you know, it's like, I just get this weird feeling in my stomach, and she's been awkward and strange over the last, like, it's been about a week and a half. Mm-hmm. Um, and, and, again, you said you've never suspected Andrea before of anything like this. Mm-mm. Yeah. I have a question. Go ahead, Ashley. Um, You said he's been staying there for three months. So were they kind of cool at the beginning and now all of a sudden they're being uncomfortable around each other? That's the big deal. It's like the change that's happened between them. I mean, it's not the kind of thing where, I mean, if they had gotten in a fight or if he had, like, you know, eaten her eggs, then she would have been like... That's a new way of putting it. She'd be like, Tim, you know, Stephen's got to go because he's just like...
Eddie. What? What did I do? It's not time for joking, Eddie. I wasn't... Oh, he meant... Yes, of course, meant her groceries. It was just another way of saying if he... I just have never heard that term before and liked it. You still haven't heard a term, Eddie. Eddie. You still haven't heard any kind of term. Exactly. Let me ask you this. Did Andrea know Steven before he moved in or did she meet him upon him moving in three months ago? Um, she knew him. I mean, the three of us, we'd, we'd go out to E, sometimes we'd go out, but they, we all, they, they, the two of them knew each other. All right. And, uh, Eddie says that, uh, he talked to you and Andrea does not listen to the Mikey show. No. Okay. Um, here's what we're going to do. I'm going to go to break. When we come back, we are going to call Andrea. Uh, we're talking to Tim. We're going to call Andrea and we're going to tell her that she's won a night stay at a hotel.
And we're going to ask her to give us a name of a guest that she would like to stay with her. If she says Tim, then it sounds like things are on the up and up. If she were to give another name, then things are not on the up and up. They're on the down and down. They're on the down and down. Is she going to be on the line? Oh, I'm going to be on the line as well. Yes, you are. And so I'm going to tell you right now, please, if you can interject once. She says somebody else's name or your name. You can interject. Okay. I'm just going to ask you, please don't curse. Okay. Okay? Hang on the line, okay? Sure. All right. Odds that she's cheating? I'm going to go 50-50 on this one. Sometimes I get a feel where I'm like, oh, 90% sure she is, 90% sure he is, or whatever. This one, I'm really like 50-50 on. Eddie, what do you think? It's going to surprise you. I don't think she is. I don't think she is. I think this guy is just being paranoid. Skye, what do you think? See, it's tough because I don't know this person. But it's a girl. I would think that you would go air on her side. Like you always do. Yeah, you know, for women. I don't always do that. I take it case by case. And if Tim is like a normal guy with all his faculties, he's not like a weirdo or whatever, then I give it a 70% chance that she's cheating.
Wow, eating eggs, huh? Let's not do that. I mean, come on. All right, let's take a break. We'll be back. It's the Mikey Show. What are you talking about? What are you talking about? This is the Mikey Show. Should that be our new slogan? Yeah, the talkiest talk show. On Talk 105.3. Looking for something to jingle your bells this holiday season? Visit Pechanga Resort and Casino. Welcome back to the show. It is 8.07. Today we're going to see the temperature from the mid-60s to the low 70s. San Carlos is 38 right now in La Jolla. It's 52 degrees. The Aztecs have, what, 20 turnovers? Yeah, and they lost last night to Cal, 82-64. Holy cow. All right, welcome back to the show. Holy cow. We're doing a little something called Cheater's Hotel. On the phone with us is Tim. Are you there, Tim? I'm still here, yeah. Timmy. All right, Tim. Tim is 27 years old. He's been dating his girlfriend, Andrea, for two years. She's 24. He has a roommate that they've had now for a couple of months, three months. And his name is Steven. Tim and Steven have been friends for 10 years. But he's getting a strange vibe between his girlfriend, Andrea, and his friend, Steven. And what we do is we're going to call Andrea. We are going to tell Andrea that she has won a night stay at a hotel here in San Diego. And we are going to tell Andrea that all we need from her, no commitment, all we need from her is just the name of the guest she would like to stay with her. And if she says Tim, everything's okay. If she says Steven, then everything is not okay. I'm going to remind you, Tim.
that you can feel free to jump in after she gives her response. However, please do not cuss. Okay. Okay? All right, now, are you 100% sure, Tim? Because once we start dialing the phone, there's no going back, you know? I'm sure. I'm ready. Are you sure you want to find out this way? This is, you know, like, you know, your friends later in the day are probably going to be wanting to talk to you about it. I just don't. I think if I confronted her, it's not going to work. This is the only one. Way to get the real truth. I don't know. I haven't tried, but it just seems like it's gotten weird now, you know, and there's a lot of lying going on. All right, Tim. Hang on the line, okay? All right. Hello? Hi. Could I please speak to Andrea? Yeah, this is Andrea. Hi, Andrea. My name's Ray. I'm calling from San Diego's newest premier high-rise hotel located in the heart of the gas lamp. And I just wanted to say good morning. You've been selected as one of 25 San Diegans to get a complimentary stay at the Orion Hotel. Absolutely no cost to you. Congratulations. Really? Yeah. Oh, wow. Okay. The Orion would also like to extend a complimentary gift basket to you. It includes strawberries and champagne. And we will put the name of you and your guest on a custom card.
Printed on the inset of the card will place your name and the name of your guest. Wow. And there is no obligation to you. The only thing is that if you charge anything on the telephone, if you were to get a movie on the TV in the room, or if you were to enjoy anything from the minibar, you would be responsible for that. So we will emboss your card upon arrival at the hotel, okay? Oh, okay. Now you have up to 30 days to pick the date of your stay, and so you don't have to choose a date right now. you'll have up to 30 days to do that. But does that sound good? It sounds great. Okay, all I need from you is we have your name. I just need the name of the guest so that we can add that to the card. Who I'm going to bring with me that night? Yes, exactly. Okay, you can make it out to Jason. Jason? Yeah, J-A-S-O-N. Hey, listen, Andrea, this is Mikey, and I need to let you know that you're on the air at Rock 105. Please do not cuss, okay? Wait, what? Andrea, who's Jason? We have your boyfriend, Tim, on the line. Andrea. I'm on the radio? Andrea. Hello? Andrea, who is Jason? Wait. I thought you were getting together with Steven. Tim? Is that you? Who is Jason? What? Did you just say Jason? I don't even know. Who's Jason?
Who's Jason? You're on the phone right now. Hey, you're on the phone right now. You're on the air, Andrea. Hey, don't cuss, okay, Tim? Andrea, that's your boyfriend. What are you guys doing to me? You're on the air. We're doing something called Cheater's Hotel. Your boyfriend, Tim, wrote us an email. He thought that you were cheating with your... I thought you were cheating with Steven. Oh, God. No, I would never... Steven's your best friend. Who is this Jason guy? Jason? Jason is just a guy from work. He's just somebody I work with. Yeah, oh, wow. Oh, wow. Listen, it's not. No. It's just a guy I work with. This is a guy you work with that you're going to go to a motel with and sleep with. And I don't even know him. Why did you think I was cheating?
Yeah, she's saying that like, oh, she wouldn't do that. Well, who, can you answer the question? Andrea, who is Jason? I've been happy for a while, Tim. I'm sorry. Why don't you say something? Why don't you say something? Oh, my God. I didn't want to hurt you. I know you're sensitive. I didn't want to hurt your feelings, and I didn't know how to tell you. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? I don't believe this. I don't believe this. Our phone over here is 570-1053. Andrea, Jason, is somebody that you work with? Yeah, I mean, honestly, I mean, now I might as well.
Tell the truth. It is someone I've been seeing. Okay. And I didn't know how to tell Tim. I just didn't know how to break up with him and tell him. And I'm sorry. I didn't want to hurt his face. I got to go, you guys. All right. I'm going to let you go, man. Thank you, Tim. Poor Tim. Oh, dude. He seemed a little upset. Yeah, a little bit. You guys, we need to follow up with him. Yeah, no kidding. I'm concerned about him. Oh, man. When it's like that, it makes me feel terrible. Andrea, I think you need to hang up, too. You have a phone call to make. Yeah, I think I do. All right. All right. Oh, my God. Oh, F. Oh, my God. I just choked up. That was a little curveball. That was not good. Are you shaking? I'm shaking. I'm shaking. I had chills. It wasn't his buddy. It was somebody else. It's not the guy that he thought it was. That sucks. I did not like it at all. Let's never do this again. That was really bad. Why? I feel so bad. We're helping. Well, yeah, I mean, I agree it's better that he knows, but I just, like, to hear someone so upset. It goes against that whole thing I was saying. You know, like, this is what I was talking about. Remember when we were talking about the cheating thing? Like, now I feel weird. Like, I've, what do you call it? Meddled. I've meddled. You've changed history, Mikey. What? Well, I don't know how. You have. How have I changed? It's like that movie Timeline. Nobody saw that? No. All right. Well, I think six people made it. Time cop? It's a box office flop, Eddie. Eddie!
Oh, man. P1 James is on the line. Are you there, James? I'm here. This is P1 James. I just want to say Merry Christmas. Yeah. And don't spend any money on her because she's not worth it. Thank you. Holy cow. Happy holidays. That was so creepy. I don't even know. That's real emotion, man. I mean, what you're hearing, that's real emotion. Of somebody finding out that his girlfriend is not the person. How do you not talk to somebody you're feeling like that? Right. You know what I mean? And you know what? If anybody out there listening is a friend of Tim and knows Tim, please call him and check in on him today. Ashley, you got it. I'm worried about him. Well, I feel like we're tight now. I called him Timmy and we hold the old eat the eggs thing. So I'll give him a call. Well, I don't think you're the right. person to do that. I also don't think that just calling somebody Timmy constitutes a friendship. Oh, really? One man's opinion? Timmy! Eddie! P1 Casey? Go ahead. You know, she kept saying that, you know, she didn't want to hurt his feelings, but she's done the same thing times ten now. Right. And, you know, she just...
She made it so much more worse if she just would have come out and made it okay with herself and broken it off and then continued something else with Jason later on. She would have, you know, it just would have been a whole lot better. Right. What about the poor roommate? Yeah, the roommate. I know. Well, no, no, no. I know, but don't think about it. I mean, what if that gets back to him? Oh, I didn't even think of that. Oh, it will. It will get back to him, and he's going to be like, dude, thanks for the... Note of, what do you call it? Yes. Yeah. Read more, Ashley. Okay. Read more. You'd be much more articulate like me. You're looking for Kadunkadunk. You're right. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Or note of confidentiality. Yes, thank you very much. Wow. Whichever. P1 Detail, are you there? Yes, sir. You give this guy a free car wash or what's the deal? Yeah, look him up. Hey, is your website ready, by the way? Yes, it is, actually. P1Detail.com. P1Detail.com. What did you think of what you just heard? I don't know if I'm wrong, but that is just awesome, dude. Detail. Detail. I'm going to be honest with you. When stuff like that goes down, I start shaking like my hands start shaking. Yeah. Excitement?
Because our ratings are going up? No. Oh, stop it. With a weirdness, man. Knock it out. Yeah, that too. Me. Yeah, me. Timmy. It makes me so uncomfortable. Coming out of my skin. Stop it. Well, the good thing is, is the guy just saved a lot of money on Christmas. No, I heard that he saved a ton of car insurance at AIS. Oh, I heard that too. All right, thank you. All right. Timmy. Stop it. This isn't South Park. Stop it. I don't. See, and I feel weird because certainly, you know, doing something like that, I'm not a professional, but I feel like I could do it because last night I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express. There you go. P1 Brad is on the line. Go ahead. Hey, I have a theory based on the situation. It's like you guys were talking a week ago about not telling your best friend if you know somebody's cheating on him. I think that his best friend slash roommate...
knew that they were cheating a few weeks ago, and that's why things have been weird about Oxford. I didn't even think of that. That's a great point. I didn't even think of that. Because why else has it been weird? Or is maybe that just in, you know, Tim's head? I don't know. Hey, what if she's cheating with that guy, Stephen, too, and she picked the better one, Jason? So she's, like, whoring around all over town? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. We don't know. In defense of her, she did sound hot. What kind of point? I mean, I... How is that... A lot of egg eating going on. Hey, hey, hey. With that, you know. Come on. Say anything? Oh, my gosh. Oh, was that weird or what? God, I feel so dirty. Lots of people calling in right now. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, this is T1SCO Joe. I was calling about the Cheaters Hotel. Go ahead. I had the same thing happen to me this past weekend. I was in a six-year relationship and I have a kid.
And her co-worker actually called me and said that he didn't want to lie anymore and that they've been together since the beginning of October. And I was just going to call and tell Tim if he's listening to keep his head up because it's hard to get through. A six-year relationship. With a kid. I'm so sorry to hear that. Yeah, that sucks, dude. I'm sorry. With a 34-year-old guy and three kids. And I'm 24 and she's 24. Oh, man, I'm sorry to hear that. All right, thanks. P1 Judy, are you there? Yes, I am. Go ahead. Hi, I just want to say, oh, I'm shaking, too, just like you are. I feel all weird, but I just want to say with the meddling part, you shouldn't feel bad about that because everything happens for a reason, and if I was him, I'd want to know, too, and obviously she wasn't going to tell him, so I think it's good that you guys did that. Yep. All right, thank you. What do you think, Skye?
I think definitely we should not do this again until the new year. We can't be breaking up relationships. I mean, not that we're at fault, but I don't want to be a part of this until... You realize how many emails we get for Cheaters Hotel. We do. We get a ton of them. I'm just telling you. People want it. You know what? This is the equivalent, though. It's the equivalent of like when I eat something and that taste stays in my mouth all day. Like tonight, I'll be like... It's delicious, right? No, it's cucumbers. It's mustard, this guy. Thank you. P1 Tom? Yes. Go ahead. Yeah, I just want to say this, P1 Tom. I just want to say that Andrea's a coward. The only reason she's saying she doesn't want to hurt Tim's feelings is because she's afraid to come. She doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to go through and tell Tim, hey, I'm cheating on you. It's all about her. She's selfish. She's a coward. I agree, Tim. Or Tom. Sorry. Timmy. P1 Mike. No, Timmy. What's up, Mikey? What's up, dude? P1 Mike. I think that was the greatest thing you guys did, man. That just proves that the women are just a... scandalous, man. You know? I mean, I don't think you can draw a distinction. Way to prove it. It happened to me about 15 years ago, you know, but it was my best friend, and I just think that was great. I mean, yeah, it hurt a lot for that, you know, to hear that guy going through that, but, I mean, you know, he needed that. You know, he needed to know that, and that just proves that the women are just as scandalous, you know, because you usually do it with the guys, but it was great, man. You know what? The truth is that
I mean, I'm sitting here kind of processing. It's true. This guy, I know that hurt, but he's so much better off now. You know, what if he hadn't found out today? Yeah. Like right now he's a mess, but I'm sure like in a month he will look back at this as one of like the best things that probably happened to him. It may be longer than that. Yeah, maybe. You know what they say the rule of thumb is? What? They say that the rule of thumb is, is you take how long you've been with a person. And you usually cut it in half. That's about how long it takes to be over a situation. And I have found that with me, that's true. With me. You know, I mean, if you're in a relationship that lasted a year, you can plan on about six months of misery. And usually after that, about that time, that's the body and your mind normally starting to go through a healing process. If you've been married for six years, you're not going to be completely rid of those feelings. Just as a rule of thumb, for about three years, you cut it in half. Anyway, holy cow. To find out what happens with Tim and his cheating... How did you get on the radio? That's the question, Jimmy. The Mikey Show's on. 5, 3, 2...

Hey, this ride has turned into just a mess this morning just about everywhere. Give yourself some extra time if you are heading out the door anytime soon because you're going to need it. Especially on this 94 King Freeway. It starts off way out in East County on the 94 just west of Otay Lakes Road. Big rig pulling a mobile home. Completely overturned. Blocking all lanes. What a mess. Traffic controllers there trying to get you around that. You're being advised to avoid it.
A little farther in towards the city here, westbound 94, backing up big time here out of Casa de Oro to the metering lights. And then from there, it stays slow, man, in single digits through Lemon Grove all the way to an accident that was blocking lanes at the 805. And that made that whole freeway toast. Traffic alert here advising you to avoid that as well. Westbound 8 out of the Cajon Valley. You're looking good here until you get to around Jackson Drive. And from there, it's a slow one all the way in towards Texas and Mission Valley. The southbound side of the 5 is struggling as well from Point City Lane, solid down to the Carmel Valley Road. South on set of the 15, bumper to bumper from the 78 to West Bernardo Drive. It slows again at the 56. I'm Rick Lawrence on San Diego's rock station, Rocket 053. There are sports that I do like, but they're all, like, unusual sports. Anything unusual, I like. Boston Rob. I used to take Kung Fu, fighting, like a bad rotator coming. And Ashley. I'm not going to get married forever. It's the Mikey Show on Rock 105.3.
Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It is 829. Mostly sunny today. High temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Camp Pendleton's 40 right now at the airport. It's 51 degrees. The Mikey Show producer just ate a bagel in record time. Wow. It was unbelievable. Yesterday. I know you did that yesterday. It's a burrito. Look at that. Today, a bagel. Wow. Eddie obviously still reeling over the news of Tim and his girlfriend, Andrea. Who's that? Stop. So rude. It's a cheater's hotel. We called... No compassion, man. We just called this guy Tim's girlfriend, Andrea. Tim thought that Andrea was cheating with his roommate and best friend, Steven. Turns out she's not. She's cheating with someone named Jason from work. That's a good news, bad news situation. Yeah. Sure. Anyway, P1 Jake is on the line. Go ahead, Jake. Hey, Mike. This is Jake. Hey, I just want to say you guys shouldn't feel bad at all. How did all your friends know? She's a great human being and a whore. Let me ask you.
Have you dated since then? Oh, yeah. I'm with the girl now. I'm engaged. Do you have trust issues? No. I don't have trust issues at all, especially with this girl. I found another girl who I totally trusted. I mean, there's no way I'd ever think that she'd be cheating on me. That's awesome, dude. Well, congratulations. I think that's awesome. Thank you. Awesome. All right, thanks. Bye. P1 Rob, are you there? Yes, sir. Go ahead. Hey, man. I just want to let you know that... That last segment at Cheetos Hotel just turned my wife into a P1, bro. Wow. Yeah. Well, listen, through one person's misery comes our gain. Good deal. It really makes me feel fantastic about myself. And P1 Chris, are you there? Yeah, I am. Go ahead. As you're going to say, Tim, you probably get checked out for STDs because you never know with that chick if she's been sleeping around. They've known each other. It sucks. It's very smart. Yeah. Thank you very much. P1 Ben. Yo. Go ahead. Hey, I'm kind of liking it to a car accident. It's the same kind of a feeling. You see this accident up ahead and get that wrenching in your gut. And then you come up on it and it just makes you sick. But it's worth, you know, you got to do it.
about to say it's worth it. Yeah, he was about to say it's worth it that they went through all that pain because you got to see it. Because you got to gawk at it. You know, when you're gawking, you really do count your blessings, you know? Like, wow. Imagine if that hadn't gone on, I wouldn't be able to gawk right now. Thank you. Oh, man. Well, don't we feel good about ourselves? Yeah, pat on the back for us. Oh, aren't we rad? So, anyway. I feel fine. You do, Sean. Speaking of good times, the best of the Mikey show is available. Hey-o. It's a CD. It's called Pretty Sure. Maybe that one will make volume two, huh? Yeah, well. Hey, don't you feel horrendous about yourself doing that over there? What am I doing? Saying his name? Well, you're not just saying it. Tell me. We know what you're doing. No, stop. We get it. We're with ya. Right. Well, we're not with ya. Right. See, that's an example of Ashley not being able to read, kid, okay? Read. Pick up a magazine. We agree with you. Right, thank you. We think it's cool that she cheated. I don't think it's cool that she cheated. No, we're on the page. We're on the same page soon as you. Yeah, we like to make fun of people who just got their heart broken. I just like his name. Yes.
Oh, well, can you see me down here off your high horse? No. Can you see me? Sorry, I'm making fun of his name. I'll go away now. Okay. Bye-bye. Jeez. You too. You guys want to hear Dr. Phil commenting on the lawsuit against him over the diet pills he was selling? Cut four. I never thought I'd get sued for vitamins. I mean, healthier vitamins. What did you say? Curious cancer? Well, of course not. Of course not. You know, the whole idea, I've endorsed very few things in my life, and I did this as a charitable endorsement. In other words, I took no fees for it whatsoever. I just endorsed the vitamins as part of an overall plan to improve your health. They're nutritional supplements. You know, a couple of lawyers put together a lawsuit, and, you know, I'm...
I've learned as I have gained in recognition and notoriety that you're a little bit of a lightning rod for that company. Are you very concerned? I'm not. I'm very comfortable. The products are high quality. They were presented in a right and proper fashion, and I have no problem with it whatsoever. I mean, the last time I checked, there was three, four at the most, fellas' ding-a-lings fell off when they took these vitamins. If you're going to get all in an uproar and start hiring attorneys and getting counsel because four fellas had their ding-a-lings fall off, please, what age are we living in here? You know what I mean? A couple of women took them and grew testicles. Two women, last I heard. You know how many women live in the United States? Two of them got testicles? Big whoop. Get off my back. That'll blow your balls to hell. I'm Dr. Phil. Hey, this Char Jackson thing made big news yesterday. You know who Char Jackson is? Oh, yeah. Char Jackson is Kevin Federline's first, I don't even know if they were married or his girlfriend. Char Jackson is Kevin Federline's ex-girlfriend. He got her pregnant twice. While she was pregnant with their second child, he leaves her for Britney Spears, who he marries and knocks up.
Now, the news is now that Britney has kicked Kevin out of the house. Who knows what's going on? The rumors are, oh, the guy likes to party. Right. He's a pothead. He likes to party all the time, stay out all hours. And Britney's not having any of it are the rumors. And she's kicked him out. So anyway, there's a show. I've never even heard of this show. Rita Cosby Live and Direct. I don't know what it is. Starting to get some buzz. It's on MSNBC. And anyway, somebody named Billy Bush was filling in. And this is him talking to Char Jackson, Kevin Federline's ex, asking about the relationship. Cut one. Char, what do you make of all this? Brittany and Kevin, are they split? Is he out? Is the Ferrari gone? I don't know. I saw pictures of the Ferrari, though, online, but I don't... I don't know what's going on with them, Billy. As far as I'm concerned, it's not my business. I don't want to know. I don't care to know. And I'm trying to just move on with my life and take care of my kids. Yeah. Because he certainly ain't. Yeah, he's not doing it. I don't take care of my kids. I like to make kids, though. Making kids is cool. Making babies and driving fast cars. That's what I'm about. Yo! By the way, did I mention I'm white? Okay.
I mentioned that, but I know how to rap. That's right. White boy rap. Making babies. Making babies. That's the name of my next album. That's right. You want to know why I can talk like this? It drops in nine months. Just like the baby. Okay. Want to know why I'm able to talk like this? Why? One word. Okay. Cornrows. So you didn't talk like that before you got the cornrows put in? Wearing the cornrows gives me to write. Is that kind of like two words? Is that really technically one word? I don't know. Read, Ashley. Read. It depends which part of town you're from, yo. That's right. You from Chula Vista? One word. La Jolla, two. Gotcha. Who knew? Billy asking Char if Kevin Federline smokes the weed. Cut two. The word is, I mean, and you know, this is all. What's the word? Tell me the word, Billy. Here's the word from Papa to Mama. The word is that she gets, she's upset with Kevin for smoking pot in the house. I mean, there's no, I'm guessing he didn't pick up the habit in the last year. So, I mean, is he a big pot smoker in the house? Was he smoking pot with you in the house?
I'm not a pot smoker, and I don't have that around myself or my children, so that's a negative. But was he smoking it in the house with you, and does he love the pot? Billy, what part of I don't have that stuff around my house do you like that? No, never. Not around my house, ever. Would it surprise you if he was booted out of the house for having pot smoking bodies lingering around? I don't see. him or Brittany being the type of people to just let people linger around the house. I don't know how much truth there is to that story. Know how she could have gotten back? She could have said, hey, you want to know the truth? Me and Kevin have been having a thing going on the past four months. Brittany didn't know about it. Evil. If she was mean, she could do that. Yeah. Do it, girl. Sky, you would do that, huh? I want her to do it. You want to watch? Yeah. Please. All right, this is her talking about she don't need any help for her kids. Cut three. Is he active on the child support thing? I'm not a child support type of person. All I really care about is that he's there for his kids. You're letting Kay Fed off the hook. You're letting Kay Fed off the hook. You know what, Billy? I don't know if you know this. I don't know if you know this about me, but Mama has her own money, so I'm okay. You know what I mean?
I mean, doesn't Mama want more? No, I'm not a material type of person like that, so it's not really important to me. Who is Billy Bush anyway? He's that guy from Access Hollywood. The blonde guy? Oh, man. The biggest puker of all time. And coming up next, we're going to be talking about Kevin Federline and what could be going on with his ex-girlfriend, Shire Jackson. Who talks like that? Imagine him pulling up. I want him to be the guy. When I go to Taco Bell later today. What can I get you? Hey, move forward to the next window and don't forget, today we've got jalapeno bagels on sale. I'm not sure why we're selling jalapeno bagels here at Taco Bell. But we are. I hate that voice. I just don't like it. All those dudes on those shows have to have that voice. Billboard Music Awards were last night.
And who were the big winners? Junk, junk, junk. The big winners last night were Green Day and 50 Cent with six awards apiece and then Mariah Carey after that winning five awards last night. Kanye, man. Kanye got Artist of the Year. Yes. That's pretty cool. Did you say how many? Did you win one or what? I believe just the one. Let me look. Somebody said Kanye got into a real bad accident or something. Is that true? Anybody heard that? How about you, Ashley? You go to AJ's parties all the time. Maybe he's mentioned that. Hey! I'm not allowed to have friends. What did I say? What did I say? What did I say? It's the truth. You hang around with a hip-hop crowd. You're right, I do. Are you referring to, like, he...
broke his jaw, something like that. No, I'm referring to that 9-3-3 party that was going on last Friday night that you went to. I was thinking maybe you found something out while you were talking. Hey, I'm single and I gotta get back out there. Why are you hating? Hey, don't hate the play or hate the game. Oh, man. So anyway, Kanye West, the only thing I've heard is the obvious, for me anyway. Like, I know he, way back before he came out with College Dropout, something with his breaking his jaw. I think he, I don't know how it happened, but he broke his jaw and he had to get it wired shut. And then his first huge single from College Dropout was Through the Wire, and he actually sang it while his mouth was wired shut. You guys want to hear a cool clip? I got a clip of King Kong. It's the battle scene with King Kong and the T-Rex. So you want to hear some of this? I don't know how great it'll play on the radio, but we'll play it and hear how it sounds. Cut 23 from King Kong. Just hearing it makes me want to see it. What? Yeah. Dude. I love stuff like that. I think it sounds like it's going to be great. Junk? What are you talking about, Sky? I don't know. I'm just, like, really, really not excited. I don't think I'd enjoy it. Mikey Show, who's this? I want to be on Chris. Hey, Chris, you want to go to the premiere of King Kong? Oh, for sure, dude. All right, hang on the line, will you? All right. Of course, because it's going to be awesome, Sky. Most people want to see it. That's right.
Mikey Show, what's your name? Amelia. P1 Amelia. P1 Amelia. You want to go to the premiere of King Kong with us? Absolutely. Hang on the line. Sky will be there. Mikey Show, who's this? P1 Big Green. Yeah, Big Green. You want to go to the premiere of King Kong? I would love to go to the premiere. Hang on the line. Of course you would. Mikey Show, what's your name? It's Frank. Frank, you're not a P1. Goodbye. Mikey Show, who's this? This was P1 Curse again. I hung up on accident. Okay. Well, then I have you on Hold On Another Line. Hang on. Mikey Show, who's this? This is soon-to-be P1 Joe. Okay. As long as you're soon-to-be, I'll set you up with passes. Set you up with passes. You want to go see King Kong? Yes, I do. All right. Hang on. Are you crazy gay? Best of the Mikey Show CD is called Pretty Sure. Pretty Sure. Pretty Sure. Finisher, I just bought one for my dad. Did you really? Yeah. He's going to love it. He already called me right when we got off the air yesterday and was like, I want one of those CDs. Can you get me one for Christmas? Yeah, you know what Russell says to me from sales upstairs? He says to me yesterday, he goes, hey, can I get a few copies of that thing? I go, yeah, mikeyshow.com. $14.99 on the website. Go for it, buddy.
I'm telling you, everybody I know is coming out of the woodwork. It's like hitting the lottery, you know, and everybody starts off. Old family members you haven't talked to? Right. I got cousins calling me from far away. Hey, I heard that Best of CD's out. That sounds really good, man. Boy, I tell you what, it sure is cool knowing you, huh? And I say, yeah, bro, MikeyShow.com. Track one is one of the funniest tough love with Eddie's ever. Oh, dude. I listened to this one and I was in tears. Really? This one is a pretty good one. It's Ashley's favorite too. It's the best. That's the thing, man. By far. It was so tough when we were going through and finding what tracks to put on there because over the past year and a half, we've done so much stuff. It's hard to narrow it down. This is volume one. Of Best Of. Yeah, trust us, man. We'll put out more volumes. You're going to get a lot of good stuff. Are you getting emails like I am? Oh, yeah. Why didn't you put this on? There's more coming. Don't worry. Yeah. Cut 2 is Ashley's Small Bladder song. See, the songs, man. Lots of people ask us, put up those songs. I want those songs. Let me get those songs. We don't put everything up. This is why. Cut 3 off the Mikey Show Best Of CD, Pretty Sure.
is one of the funniest elevator dirtbags ever done where we got Boston Robin in an elevator here in San Diego saying weird stuff to people to get their reaction. Cut four is Sky and Ramsey communicating with one another on their Nextel phones, their Nextel walkie-talkies. Best one ever. Blah, blah, bloosh. Blah, blah, bloosh. Blah, blah, bloosh. Blah, blah, bloosh. You know, some dude sent me a postcard from the Alps. With a picture, you guys, I have it in the office, a picture off the website of the Donkey Kong 2 with Ramsey and supposedly myself in there with the next tell. And what I'm telling you is you can own that bit. You can have that bit. You're not going to hear it again. The way that you get it is on the Best of CD. Cut number six, or cut number five, is the Is Shawna at Work theme song that you can have for your very own.
And there were guys that were saying they're putting that on their cell phones to have that be their ringtone. Great idea. Cut number six, the award-winning bit, Boston Rob versus the Star Wars geeks. We got in trouble for it. Boston Rob almost got beat up for it. Star Wars Episode III, Revenge of the Sith is coming out. People lining up for weeks to be able to be in the theater when it first opens up. We send Boston Rob out there with a megaphone. To give away the plot lines to the movie. And they got pissed. Cut number seven, Tyrone and Tortilla. Screwing with people. One of the best ones ever. Cut number eight, unforgettable. Eddie and his stalker, Amy. It's the first time she ever called in. Yeah, that's great. Cut number nine, second chance prom. Nah, now. Now you're talking. Stop. Come on, Shani. No. Come on.
Stop it. Sean don't like it when we make fun of the 80s stuff. But he loves it so much. Sean. Not when you do it. No, I'm just saying. I want you to love it. Yeah. Sean, I want you to want me? Hey, mouth. Give it. Interesting. That really is some smooth, like, smoky harmonica. Right. Sean. In the movie The Breakfast Club, did you relate more to the nerd or the rebel or the princess? Or Ally Sheedy's character. Yeah, like which one? Which one were you? Like Emilio Estevez? Obviously, Sean's not going to answer that question, so I'll just tell you. Cut number nine is us discussing the second chance prom with Sean. Cut number ten has to be one of my personal favorites of all time on the Best Of CD. Ashley getting fooled.
By a guy calling in, pretending to be a woman. This is when we still let her phone screen. You talk about how real the show is. Ashley doesn't phone screen for us anymore. Thank goodness. But back when she did, before she was taken off of that duty, this was an example of some fine phone screening. Ashley putting through a guy pretending to be a woman. He emailed me last week. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He goes, hey, it's Lisa. He still harasses me. Still gets to you? Uh-huh. Cut number 11 is the Sky's a Beating song. Enough said. Hasn't been out, Sky. We haven't released it in any way. People wanted it so bad. No way. We weren't putting it out there. Didn't post it on the website. Didn't make it available in any way until now. That's the crown jewel of the CD. So now you're mass producing it. Yeah. You can own it for your very own, Skye. Awesome. Great. You'll have your own copy. Oh, I can't wait to play it at home and dance around my living room. Right on. Shut up. Oh, you were joking? Oh. Yeah, it's called sarcasm, Mikey. Uh-oh. Cut number 11 is Skye's a beating song. We heard you the first time. Number one with a bullet. All right. It's not even on the charts. Great. Pretty sure it's $14.99. Get it at MikeyShow.com. We will be back. He's not what you'd call an overachiever. More of it.

I never, ever get through, and I'm up early enough today to finally get through. I wanted to tell Mikey about Sleep Train. I got a deal there that will beat anything I've ever heard on the radio, ever. You're the best. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, dude. Sleep Train's great. What did you get? What kind of mattress? Okay, Simmons Beauty Rest. Isn't that what you have, Sky? Yeah, I think so. Yeah. Simmons Beauty Rest. It was a $6,000 mattress they gave to me for half price. Whoa. That's awesome. And they threw in pillows, a sheet set. Yeah. A bed frame and a mattress pad. Word. What? For free. That's the way it goes at Sleep Train. That's true. Oh, I bet it's so freaking comfortable. Like a cloud. Oh, I want it. Salt in the wound, Mikey. I know it's salt in the wound because I don't have my Sleep Train mattress right now. It's in storage. I'm sleeping on a tomb. I'm sorry? This is Mikey. Oh, Mikey, hey. I didn't know I was talking to you. Sorry. It's all right. Uh, but yeah, it was a, it's a Simmons beauty rest. They even broke down the difference between the best ones and the, and the lower end ones. And I guess the only thing better is what you got is a Stearns and Foster. I love it. But California King ultra soft. It was 59 95. They gave it to me for 29 95 and gave me everything. I just said free. Lucky. All right. Thread count sheet set for free. You're awesome. Thank you for calling. Okay.
Now back to the Mikey Show featuring Mikey. You know, my man boobs, I'm uncomfortable with them. I need a breast reduction. Eddie. You put the whore in horrible. Skye. See why I don't like sharing with you guys? It always turns into, oh, Skye's such a beating. Sean. I hope you get ear cancer. Boston Rob. This is the truth. How do you budget? I collect cans. And Ashley. Instantly confused. On Rock 105.3. I'll take care of it, Skye. All right, Mike. Microphone fell. Well, it's only the second day in a row that this has happened. Oh, I wonder how many times it's happened since we started working here. I wonder how many times it'll need to happen. Well, why does yours have those weird fabric washers on it? I don't know. I'm going to take them off. Yeah, take those off. Get rid of that crap. Yeah, leave that one on. Get the fabric ones out of there. Good thing this burns up airtime. Yeah.
All right, it's 8 and 57. Today we're going to see high temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Encinitas is 50 right now in Ramona. It's 39 degrees. Dodgers have a new manager from where Red Sox manager Grady Little receives a two-year contract. Is that right? Yes. How about you? Sports Oracle over there. Yeah, me. All right. We've got a lot of stuff to talk about. You know what I watched yesterday? March of the Penguins. All right, let me be... Oh, sorry. Hey, hi. Sorry. No, because what did you think of it? I want to know. You guys are going to be all irritated at me. No, I'm not. I am. I'm not. I already am. No, Skye is. I think Skye knows where I'm going. You're going to be irritated at me, Ashley. All right. That was boring. So did I. Really? I just saw it, and I remember you were like, don't tell me anything, don't tell me anything, so I haven't been able to talk to you. Absolutely, I thought it was boring. Mm-hmm. It got overhyped. If I hadn't heard a thing about it, maybe.
It really was no different than watching any nature show, like an hour-long nature show on TV. Right. Oh, and I love that stuff, so. You know what I mean, though? I mean, a whole movie? Like, first of all, give me an hour-long show, and I'll be like, okay. It's not. How long is the movie? Hour and a half. Okay. You got to get that murder ball. Oh, yeah, dude. Is that out? There you go. Did you see it, honey? Oh, no, but I've read a ton about it. It sounds awesome. I heard it's great. Murderball's supposed to be awesome. It's those guys in the... Not the Special Olympics. Paraplegic. Paraplegic Olympics-like. Something like that? Mm-hmm. And it's real violent. Yeah. It's ultra-violent. Anyway. Yeah, I agree with you. P1 Tree? Yeah. What did you think? I thought the movie was really bad. It was... It was really bad. I mean, it sucked. It was boring. What? Penguins? Yeah. Watch for the penguins. Like, I had never heard nothing about it. All I heard about it was what you guys had said on the radio. Said you wanted to go buy it. Like, along with Mr. and Mrs. Smith or something else. Now, that's good. Okay. So, you say. Did you? Wait. Hang on a minute. Excuse me. Now, wait a minute. Tree. Hang on a second. Yes.
I told you, I hadn't seen March of the Penguins. I just told you I wanted to see it. And the only reason I wanted to see it is because there was all this buzz and everybody was talking about how great the penguins were. Oh, yeah. Same here. So great. The penguins were, but no, it sucked, man. Have you seen Mr. and Mrs. Smith? No. Okay, now that one I've seen and I can tell you from experience, it's good. It's good. Yeah. It's good. Oh, shush. What do you mean, Ashley? You didn't like that one either? I thought, again, just completely was way boasted up, and it just wasn't that great. I thought it was fun. I thought there was some cool, you know. I don't know. Lots of bullets flying. I don't think it was that great. Well, it just sounds like we can't trust you, Mike. Yes. Yes. I was going to say, hey. Excuse me, tree. That's so funny. You got to understand, I didn't recommend penguins. Well, don't believe a word he says. Okay. Tree, I didn't recommend it. Ruined all credibility. Whatever. Hey, Tree, you want me to recommend a good movie to you? Yes, go for it, dude. Here we go. I'm going to give you some of my all-time classics. You go rent these. Tell me you don't like them. Oh, God. Okay. How dare you? How dare you? Yes. You got a pen? Yeah.
All right, you ready? You don't have a pen, you liar, Tree. That is awesome. Tree, you don't have a pen. Yes, I do. Don't lie to me like every other woman in my life, please. I have a San Diego County Credit Union pen in my hand. All right, you ready? This is stolen. Now, you're going to think I'm kidding about this, but Eddie can vouch for me that this is a real movie. The movie is called Amores Peros. You're going to have her watch that? I would recommend it to anybody. It's awesome. What is it? It's a movie in Spanish about fighting dogs. It is not about fighting dogs. How am I going to watch it? Sky, I want to chop your head off. What's it about, Mike? It's about two and a half hours, Sky. Let me explain to you, Tree. Sky is right. The movie is in Spanish. However, there is subtitles. Subtitles. Oh, man, you got to read. Boring. The Union. The tree is so out on your movie picks, dude. She is so out on you. I went out and bought the darn March of Penguins. Listen, I hadn't watched it, though, tree. Way to go, Mike. You're telling people to buy bad movies, Mike. Don't watch it. It's horrible.
Okay, all right, Tree, I just told you I agree with you, so obviously we have the same sensibilities. Tell me, Tree, tell me a movie that you've liked. Tell me a movie that you've liked in your life. Chicken Little. That's awesome. I've heard that's a great movie. You haven't seen it, Mikey. Give me another one. Okay, yes, my advice to you, go see Chicken Little. Fine, give me another one, Tree. Okay. Something real. What? You mean not cartoon? Yes, I mean not cartoons. Hey. Whoa. Calm down. Just because you stared her on. We're going to watch a movie together, Tree. Okay. Tree. Yeah. We're going to watch movies together. Huh? We're going to watch movies together. You and me. She doesn't want to, dude. Not if you're picking. Yeah. Can she pick the movie? Okay, yeah, if I can pick it right on. Give me another example of a movie you've liked, Tree. What is your name? I don't want to call you Tree anymore. Why? That's her name. That's her name is Tree. My name is Skye. Her name is Tree. And then you insult her? Is that your real name? Yeah. I apologize. Wow, you're sorry. He doesn't want to call you that.
That's real nice. Man, she had to go mic on me. Well, you deserved it. Fine, give me another movie that you've liked, Tree. God, let's see. God, now you freaking put me on the spot. Well, what about in your collection? Shallow Howl. What's that? Shallow Howl. It's a good one. That's one of my ultimate favorite. All right, so far what she's given me of her favorite movies. Are Chicken Little and Shallow Hal. Okay, you know what? All right, I got a great movie pick for you. It's called The Wizard of Oz. You're going to love it. No. Oh, okay, good. Then we finally agree on something. I like that one, too. I think I figured out her type of movie. Okay. Got another one for you. It's called Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Is that really a movie? That's a great movie, by the way. Sarah Jessica Parker, Helen Hunt. All right, let's go round the horn right now, and you're going to listen to an example of what we each like. My favorite movie of all time is not one that I would recommend to you. I'm just going to tell you what I like. My favorite movie of all time. I would not recommend this to you. I would not recommend this to you, Tree. Okay.
My favorite movie of all time is a movie called Magnolia. Oh, great. She's going to go out and buy it. She won't. I told her not to. I don't recommend it. Eddie. Well, I'm going to have to watch it either way now. Eddie? Well, mine's a very... You're not going to like it, Tree. Don't watch it. Okay. I don't want you to. Okay. Go ahead, Tree. I mean, Eddie. My name's Eddie. My movie is a very small movie. Not a lot of people have seen it. Independent, art house type of movie. It's called Star Wars. Oh. Oh, God. Yeah, if you haven't seen that, go out and check it out today. Sky, your favorite movie of all time? Take a little. I think I'm going to... God, there's so many things going through my head right now, but I think I'm going to have to stick with my all-time favorite of Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Sean, your favorite movie of all time? King of Comedy. That's a great choice. Boston Rob, what is your favorite movie of all time? Oh, wow. Right now, it's Ackerman. Don't do it. Okay. No, I'm saying right now. Ashley? Of all time, probably the one I've seen the most anyway is Dumb and Dumber. Oh, my God. It had to be. Love you. I know every word to that movie. What about you, Tree? What's your favorite movie ever? Ever, ever.
Billy Madison. See, I can't recommend movies to her. Why? That's a great movie. I'm not into the Chicken Littles and the Billy Madisons and the Shallow House. I'm not into that stuff, man. I like dramas. I like comedy. I can't handle the complicated movies. I see. Don't watch Magnolia. Do not watch Magnolia. Except for that funny scene. All right, Skye. All right. What? Tom Cruise? Yeah. Hysterical. I know. I thought so, too. Okay. But anyway, there you go, Tree. That's our... I'm telling you... I apologize for Mikey, Tree. Oh, thank you. Yeah. He'll refund it later. Thank you, Tree. Okay. Goodbye. I'm going to tell people, if you go rent Amores Peros, you're going to... It's so cool. It's a really good movie. Yeah, watch it with your dog. Oh, my God. He's short. Attention fantasy football owners, Buffalo Bills receiver Eric Moultz, suspended by head coach Mike Malarkey for this next game. All right. Welcome back to the show. So we got a guy on line four who has a question for us. What's going on, Ferris? What's up, Mikey? Hey, I wanted to know if Sky was firing up a Donkey Kong 2 to find out what this big black cloud is hanging over. La Mace area is, it looks like a fuel fire. Yeah, it's a tanker fire on the 15 right by Friars Road. So it's actually right here by the radio station. Evacuate! Yes. And it's a whole tanker? That's what, yeah, we just saw a little blurb. I mean, you know, the details are still slowly coming in, but we're saying it's a tanker fire. All right, we are listening right now live to Sky in the Donkey Kong 2.
She is over the scene. And what are you exactly seeing, Skye, up there in the Donkey Kong 2? Well, no, I'm still here in the studio with you. That is Skye up there in the Donkey Kong 2 and Skye looking down upon the tanker. Well, all I know is that it's a tanker crash. Thank you. On the 15, you're friars. Thank you. But I'm still here in the studio. It's hard to hear her over the chopper bridge. That's right. But I'm still here in the studio. Thank you, Ferris. Hey, thank you, Mikey. Appreciate it. DK2 looks nice and shiny. That's right. Got the old DK2 all up there in the air. There's no DK2. I don't own a helicopter. So I say to Boston Rob, outside right now, I go, yeah, Boston Rob, maybe we should send you over to the fire. And he's like, yeah, yeah. And then I go, ah, but we got you screening phones. We'll send Bobby Colonels. Yeah, I don't know. And he gets this look on his face. Not a good idea. Because if you don't want a very good report, fine. Oh, hey. Really? I'm just saying, all I'm saying is, hey, you give him a computer, he can work miracles. Out in the scene when there's fires and stuff raging, I mean. Because that's your specialty? Yeah. I've been in riots. I've been in, you know, a bunch of different weather. Yeah, what riots have you been in?
There was a great Boston Red Sox riot of 04. Yes, I was not in that, though. Wasn't in that one, Mike. Missed that one, unfortunately. There was the riot in 03 after we beat Oakland. There was the riot in 03 after we won the Super Bowl. It all has to do with Boston sports. By we, you mean. You were on the teams? As a fan, yes, I consider myself part of Red Sox Nation. That we are a family, hence me being on the team. Thank you. My good sir. Mikey Show. Yeah, this is P1 Black Guy reporting about the fire at the Jack Murphy Stadium. What's going on, P1 Black Guy? Yeah, the stadium's burning down, man. I mean, there's a big fire. It's right next to the stadium. I mean, cars are blazing, trees are blazing. And I only see one. There's only one fire. That doesn't sound very accurate, though, P1 Black Guy. I'm black. We haven't seen any of that. Fire's even turned me black, Mikey. I look all ashy. Is this a way for the Chargers to get a new stadium? Mikey Show, hello. Am I there? Yes, you are. All right, this is P1OP. I was curious, are you guys talking about the fire in Spring Valley? Yes, we are. Well, from what we hear, this fire is not, in fact, in Spring Valley. We're hearing that this fire is off Friars Road on the 15th. Oh, really? Because there's one right down the street from my house in Spring Valley, too, this morning.
They woke me up this morning. Lots of fires going on. This is the one going on right now with the huge thing of black smoke. What do you think that sucker's full of? Oil? Fuel. Some sort of, something's burning black. Because he is black. Mikey show. Hi, I work on friars. Oh. What do you know? What do you know? What do you know? Well, tell me what you're seeing, what's happening out there. Well, I was walking outside. I work at Kaiser, and there's a huge plume of black smoke, and I thought it was a plane crash. It was not. But it wasn't. It was the fuel tank farm over there by Qualcomm. And it's kind of getting better. There's a lot of planes. The smoke's really traveling, but there's a lot of planes coming in and dropping that special magic stuff they have. I believe that is what it's called, the special magic stuff. Going to have to order up some more special magic stuff. Do you know if any structures or anything are threatened right now? Right now, no, it doesn't seem like it. Well, Skye, she said Kaiser. I can see, though. She can see smoke. Well, she said she never knows. Kaiser's on Zion and Mission Gorge Road. Oh, that's far away. Yes, it's... I didn't know where it was. I went down there. Oh, she said she went down there. Smoke's diminishing, like, substantially, so I think... This girl's a reader, I can tell. I know, that's what I was thinking. That's right.
Thank you. Just good words. Mikey Show. Yeah, I was calling about the fire in Curdie Mesa. Yep. What can you tell us? That they've got Mission Village Drive. They got that closed off and Friars right there. I just tried to go there and they've got like a bunch of police showing up to the scene right now blocking people off. Yeah, I heard sirens outside. Mikey Show. Hello. Yes, go ahead. You guys are talking about this fire? Yes. It's right there like at the stadium. Like it's going into the stadium. Most of these people are stupid. All right. Well, I appreciate the call in. I think that does not read. Slow talker. Yeah, the slow talkers get to me. Because you're waiting and you're waiting. And then a lot of times when you get to the big meat of it, you're disappointed. You expected more. Like March of the Penguins. Yeah.
You know, you go into it expecting more. And then by the end of it, you find out, oh, penguins mate. Yeah. Okay. They're finally starting to post stuff about it on the internet. Let me see. I'm opening the page, but it's lagging. It's lagging. And there it is. According to NBCSanDiego.com, a fuel tanker overturned your Qualcomm stadium, spilling about 4,000 gallons of fuel, which has caught fire. Authorities closed down friars and mission center roads. A tall column of black smoke from the blaze can be seen many miles from the fire. Firefighters are being sent to fight the blaze, and that's all they have right now. Be careful, all you guys. Better be fixed by the time I go home. That's the way I go. That's right. You may be spending the night. That's right, Eddie. I hope you brought a sleeping bag there. It may go well into the night before that. Sleeping on the couch. That's right. There's other roads. What? There we go. It's got it on TV now. Oh, there. Oh, yeah. 739. They're showing you a live shot of all the smoke and plumage. But it does look like the smoke's going down. You're starting to see a bit more grayish smoke than that pure black smoke, which means they're fighting it. They're putting it out. Or aren't they? The others are coming. I think they are. It's the others.
I'd like to thank Jeff over at Decline. Sent Eddie and I some shoes and a nice sweatshirt from Decline Footwear. That's nice. That's right. Wow, look at that. They got all the different fire trucks over there spraying it. What do you think, the guy was just going too fast? Yeah, well, you know, they said it overturned, so must have. You gotta be careful. Maybe there was a possum in the road. He had to get out of the way. Wow. Some people do. Other people just run them down. Well, I would prefer to flip my tanker truck and start a big fire rather than hurt a possum. Well, we know that. Okay. Oh, you know what we didn't do yesterday? We're going to have to do before the show is over. We've got to do Celebrity Birthdays. We didn't do them yesterday. I do want you to hear this, though. Ashley, earlier in the show, take a listen. Skye, I would like to say something about yesterday because I never said this on the air. Yeah. Okay.
I really think that you do a good job and it's one of your skills of communicating your argument in a very well-worded way. And I'm starting to realize. No, no, no, no. Listen, I had an epiphany. That's very nice. And you used that in the right context. Wow. That's awesome. I had an epiphany, Mikey, because she does a really good job of what I can't do. And that's articulating thoughts clearly on the air. That's true. And yesterday, when the one time I wanted to say my point, I. Just messed it all up. And in my head, it made sense. But when I actually verbally said it, it was like all mixed up. Yeah. You know, you said it. Yeah. Well, she actually uses a she uses too many words. I told her that when she just said verbally said it. She didn't need to say that. She could have said when I said it, you know, because she adds the words she doesn't need to add. Yeah. But I think that my brother like mentioned to me when I went home for Thanksgiving. And I really think Sky watching you yesterday and you're how you say things on the air. I think that I need to go back to college to learn how to do that. Sean will just be, Sean will.
verbally treat you as a serial killer would, and that's not necessary. Skye was born with an ability to freaking argue.
What was it? Describe the kind of book it was and who it's for. It was a novel. It was a novel. I would say it was for people that are in my age. group. I mean, it was, it was a novel that was like a sexual, like, um, I love like sexual novels because, and they keep my, they keep my attention more like sexual, like dramas and murder mysteries. Did it, did it bore you? And that's why you stopped reading it. About halfway through. Started to bore you. Bored me and I got out of it. And you were reading. And as you were reading, you realized after a few pages that you had read a couple of pages and been thinking about something completely different. Correct. Okay. I'm going to help you. I'm going to suggest some stuff to you. And I now know a couple of things that I'm going to do for Christmas for you. Okay. But the secret, and I told my brother this because my brother's also inarticulate. I'm not inarticulate. My brother's Steve. My brother's Steve. I'm not inarticulate. Yes, Steve-o. What's the point? You just said you were. No, I just want to learn how to be more critic. I want to be able to critically think on the air.
In other words, you want to be articulate. Yes. Well, to each his own. But, Ashley, I'm telling you. I'm telling you, Ashley. And I mean read everything. I mean get a hold of magazines that you enjoy. Ashley, I discovered this really... early in life thank god and eddie the same thing eddie reads man he reads magazines i mean he may not be reading novels and stuff like that but he reads reading is really important because people that write articles in newspapers sports magazines things like that they are articulate and when you hear examples or you read examples over and over again of people that articulate you pick up on it and i'm telling you kid you find stuff that you like Find stuff that you like and you'll get sucked in. But what do you think? I find that very flattering what you said, Ashley. I thank you very much. That's very sweet of you to say all those things. But, you know, like one of the big pieces of advice you gave me, Mikey, when I started working with you in radio is for me just to embrace who I truly am and just go with that. You know what I mean? I'm not saying that Ashley shouldn't better herself, but I don't. That may make her a better air talent.
Oh, I see. Oh, I totally get what you're saying. I get what you're saying. Yeah, but she wants to improve herself. No, like, Skye, let me ask you this. Let me ask you, as a female to a female on air, because there's not that many of us, don't you think that the competition is kind of different? And with the males, like, they can kind of base it on their talent, whereas maybe the women need to be able to stand up for themselves and have intelligence to hold their own, especially on a male morning show. Well, so didn't education have anything to do with that? Because I thought it would. Well, it did for me. But part of it was, you know, me growing up with an older brother who used to always beat me down. You know, that's an equal part of it as well that makes me survive on this show. But, you know, it kind of depends, like, what job do you want to do? Like, do you want to be a news girl? Yeah, because I eventually want to be like, yeah, be able to be a news girl and totally read news and be very good at it, like articulately. I want to be articulate. Oh, no. Okay, here's the thing, Ashley. See, this is what happens. Ashley, listen. Now, here's the deal. Overload, overload. Here's the deal.
It would be like me, it would be Skye somehow having a goal to be on a show like the Howard Stern show. It's not who she is. It's just not who she is. Oh. The reason that Sky's right, she is not exactly...
she's not what you would think of as the perfect fit for the Mikey show, but she is. And if you do read, you'll notice yourself. saying words in a you know in the words that you've never used before more concise articulating yourself in a way that you never thought you could and you'll go where whoa where did that come from and you'll realize it came from you reading stuff eddie what do you think uh i i can't imagine that
Could you imagine Ashley sitting here in this chair doing the job I do? Well, no. I mean, she doesn't understand the news, let alone be able to read it. You don't know that. Excuse me. Skye. See, that's what I'm talking about. But, Eddie, she's not stupid. She's not. Ashley's not stupid. And I absolutely think I could do Skye's job. And that's why I, you know what I'm, it's my goal to be able to be articulate so I can do that.
And Sky would be like, OK. And she could probably go hang out at the clubs and she could probably go do all that stuff and come in here and kind of fake it. But we would. Yeah. It wouldn't take long to expose her.
A book from beginning to end. He's out of his mind. Free to leave a message. Mikey. You're right. Brock 105.3. It looks like a cliff. A couple of hundred feet of fresh powder waiting to be caught. You anticipate at times you're barely even touching the ground. Freedom. It's just you and just you.

Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Center. This ride is improving, but I'm sure you're checking out all that smoke coming up next to the stadium here at the Q. And that's because a fuel tanker truck is on fire over here. It's pretty bad, man. And they're hoping that there's another tank next to it that doesn't explode. So they're working on that one. But in essence here, we've got the Friars Road off-ramp from South 15 completely shut down. Friars Road itself is shut down from the 15 to Mission Village. You're being advised to avoid that whole area? That'd be a good idea. It is affecting South 15, though slow towards Friars Road as you head into Mission Valley. Restaurant freeways are looking much better here. South onside of the 15, let's take that one. Just a minor delay here. Actually, you know what? Back up to full speed, man. Looking great down the 15 right now. South onside of the 5, still struggling from La Costa down towards Manchester. A much better rider of the East County. No worries here on the West 8 of the 94. North 805 out of the South Bay cruising right along until you get to Kearney Mesa. Then you're going to find a busy backup still heading up over the 52 into the Golden Triangle. I'm Rick Lawrence on San Diego's rock station, Rock 105.3. Hi, this is Jack, founder of Jack in the Box. Let's take a call from Basalata on Line 5. Hello. Hello. Yes, hello. My name is Basalata. I wish to learn from American men how to celebrate winter holidays. What do you know so far? First, I stabbed pumpkin with a knife and cut a picture of bunny rabbit on it. That's Halloween and Easter, sort of.
See, in this country, we celebrate the holidays with my three new collectible antenna balls. Your three balls? I have a lot of insecurities. I wear my emotions in my sleeve. Eddie. Part of the working man in sports. Sky. I love you, Rio. Sean. How about I wash my fist in your face? And then in your nuts. Boss and Rob. I'm clever. I know I'm clever. And Ashley. Bend me over. The Mikey Show's on. Well, start talking. Rock 105.3. Hey, it's the Mikey Show back on the air for you. Coming to you live. Broadcasting live through your speaker system. That's right. Turn your radios up to 11.
739-42. Mostly sunny today, except for that big old black cloud of smoke in the sky. We're going to see high temperatures from the mid-60s to the low 70s. Vista's 58 right now. Downtown is 57 degrees. That's six. Committed 20 turnovers yesterday. Ended up losing to Cal 82-64 last night. Isn't it amazing the difference in quality between the broadcast of 739 and 8? Yeah. 8 is just better. Yeah. We had it on 739. I got an email from somebody who says, put it on 8. Their coverage is better. And we put it on. All of a sudden, it's like we're inside the fire on Channel 8. Totally. I can smell it. Seriously. It's like smell-o-vision. You watch it on 8 and the snozzberries taste like snozzberries. I wonder what that is. More money or something? They got more dough to put into better coverage? Reporter's right there on the scene. You got to love it. Anyway, we'll tell you what we know when we know it. We don't know anything right now. Mikey Show. Hey, B-Rob. This is Mikey. This is Mikey? Yep. Hey, I was listening to the show earlier, and I was figuring out if that one chick, was she cheating on that guy? Yes. He was? Okay. Interesting phone call. Let's see here.
It's a good one I've missed. So I know we don't know anything new, but you just want to reiterate what we know, just in case people are tuning in about this fire? Yeah, you can. Okay, yeah. So Friars Road, right by the 15, right outside of Qualcomm. It's like a two-tanker truck, like semi-deal. I don't know exactly what they're called. They had two tanks full of gas. flipped over while making a turn. One of the tankers exploded. That's all the fire and smoke you're seeing right now. The other tanker is still full of gas. So they just keep watering it down and they're hoping it won't, you know, catch on fire. So they're just trying to let the current gas fire burn itself out and try and keep that other tanker cool. It's like right outside of Qualcomm. Yeah, it's right at the front entrance. It's not even on Friars. It's right at that front entrance right there. Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen are officially divorcing. They've been separated since 01, and they are going to officially divorce, they've decided. Why can't this be love? I can't believe they've been together for 24 years. Yeah. That's a long time for like a rough couple. You know what, Skye? It's not enough. What? It's not enough. Okay. It's not enough. I apologize. Is that right, Eddie? That was correct.
In the early stages, it was great. When love walks in, it's great. But then you know what happens? Things change all the time. Pound cake happens, Mike. What? I don't know. I'm just trying to think of that. And then you dive her down. Huh? The guy that produced the Saw movies is dead at the age of 42. Oh, whoa. I thought of Sean when I read this story this morning. No Saw 3 then, huh? Sorry, Shawnee O'Big. Shawnee, you with us? Yeah, I'm here. He's just really up. Did he choose how to die? Well, it doesn't sound like it. So like Mikey said, the guy's only 42 years old. On Sunday, he started complaining about neck pain, went to the hospital, and then he died. Was Ashley there?
You said he had a pain in the neck, right? Yeah, so the press release issued by Lionsgate Entertainment, which is, you know, the company that distributed his films, said that he died of natural causes. And Ashley is really insulted by being called a pain in the neck. I didn't see that one coming. Really insulted. Did not see that one coming. So an autopsy is planned. I saw it coming up Friars Road. Even through the smoke? Yep. So they're planning an autopsy because it just doesn't make sense, complaining of a neck pain, and then the next thing, you're dropping dead at the age of 42. I heard the acetate was surgically implanted in his neck. Choose now. Live or die. Let me tell you, dude, I got this stupid harmonizer hooked up. I wish I could use it for you. That'd be cool, man. Yeah, because I do that voice. Hello? I'll do my auto effects. That's right. Okay. I feel bad for this. Choose to live or die. All I'm doing is holding my hand over the microphone. That's my sound effects. Sean, are you getting bounce back from my microphone? No. You're not? No. Anything else?
You guys want me to say it's creepy, huh? Well, I feel bad because the guy just issued a statement back in November saying he felt like he had won the lottery because of the success of these Saw films. The first Saw film cost $1 million to make, grossed over $102 million. The sequel cost them $4 million to make and made just $86 million in the first six weeks. So, I mean, this guy was planning on making a lot of money. This is just really tragic. Could have retired. You should have. No, I'm good. That's sad. Oh, never mind, by the way. Oh, I wish I could figure out how to use this stupid thing. Why don't you know how? Because they didn't tell me where it comes up. Oh, I could probably figure it out. Not until you read some books. No, I know how to work the board. That's not a book. Yeah. That's not a book. That's like my book. No, backwards and forwards. That's the truth. That's why you don't have to go back to college. Okay, Mike. Right. Who's the lineup for New Year's Rockin' Eve? With Dick Clark? Hey, Ashley, go see if you could find Kevin. Go ahead, Skye. All right, so they just announced the lineup for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Now, this is the 93rd year he's done it, right? That's the word on the street, yes. So some of the acts are going to be Three Doors Down, 311, The Bengals, The Pussycat Dolls, Sean Paul, Chris Brown, Sugar Land, and...
Co-hosts with Dick Clark will be Ryan Seacrest and Hilary Duff. Sounds good. Yeah, not really. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, um, did you guys ever do celebrity birthdays yet? Yeah, we haven't done it yet, but we're going to do it in a couple of minutes. All right, right on. Thank you. TV, TV, TV, TV, TV, TV, TV, TV, TV, TV. That's what I'm saying. This song gets in your head. Reality bites. I'm going, reality bites. And all of a sudden.
What's a prize today, Eddie?
Oh, wow. I've never done that. Whoa. Skye, you're good. Oh, well, none of those things are true. She's truly the best. Go ahead, Skye. To be honest, the last two times, I've just written on the piece of paper, you know what to do. Shut up. Wow. Way to go, Skye. Because I thought you were going to change it all in. Oh, yeah. Whatever.
All right, Sky, go ahead and give us our reality show ideas. Wink, wink. Rock and roll finger quotes. Thank you, Dane. I knew you were going to steal that. Yeah, he told us to. He said to steal it. He did, actually. Can we just move along, please? Yeah, sorry. Go ahead. Theater. Was that Ashley making fun of you there? Yes. Uh-oh. Very harsh way. Wow. Pour some milk over here. Sky, you know you're articulate, but some of the words, you don't pronounce them right. So, I mean. I mean, maybe I can teach you how to pronounce words. Look at Skye. She's counting to ten in her mind. She's counting to ten in her mind. You can see it. Go ahead, Skye. Go ahead, Skye. Maybe we should have Ashley read these and see how well she does with them. I'd read it by thank you. Oh, I'm sure you would. Go ahead, Skye. Why do you hate me? You're the one who started.
Thank you for the nice thing. Just go, Skye. Just go. And you're the one who attacks me out of nowhere. For the record. Just go, Skye. Okay? Just go.
So that must be some sort of fashion crime, right? are the biggest crime to hit Hillcrest since they started letting straights into the Corvette Diner. Fudge, fudge, who packed the fudge? Oh, my. Well, maybe that crime's not so bad after all. It's private eye for the gay guy. It's Mr. and Mr. Smith. Wow, that was a good one, Scott. Well, I just read it, and I was supposed to be doing a gay voice, but couldn't really figure it out. All right. Okay, give us the reality show ideas again, then we'll open the phones to listeners to vote. Okay, reality show idea number one was low attention span theater. When you take a bunch of kids with ADD, you detox them from Ritalin and make them watch boring stuff.
Theater. Little? Mikey's show, which one? Short attention span theater. Wow. I think this is the closest it has ever been.
But our winner today is P1 Eric for picking Sean and Snort the Line. How about that? Eric, are you there? Yeah. Congratulations. Thank you. You hit your horse. My first football game. There you go. Oh, wow. There you go. All right, hang on the line, will you? Yeah, definitely. All right, Skye, who wrote what? Well, it was a tie for second place today with Mikey and low attention span theater. Theater. And Eddie with Mr. and Mr. Smith. There you go. All right, don't go anywhere. It's a Mikey show. Knows he needs the exercise, but he's always had this philosophy. No pain. No pain. That's awesome. I was paying $256 a month before. Yep, you saved more money than I did, and I saved $2,000 last year. Really? I didn't add it up over a year, but, man, you can save me $200 a month off anything, I'll be a happy camper. Your insurance is probably going to be better now, too, dude. That's their phone number. So when you called them, was the process pretty easy? Oh, actually, I went on the Internet and checked it out. I was going to a bunch of different places because I realized I was paying $256 a month for insurance. So I just went on the Internet and was checking it out. And all these other sites were extremely hard to deal with. I was, like, getting really frustrated and ready to just continue paying $256 a month. And then I got to AIS.com or whatever it is. And that was really easy. I entered in a couple numbers and put in my information. They're like, okay, somebody will call you in five to 15 minutes. And like eight minutes later, somebody called me and set it up, got me a reference number, went right down the street. It was right around the corner from my house, set it up, less than 45 minutes, more coverage insurance, and it's all good now. AIS, man, went the right way. Did you mention Mikey? Oh, yeah, dude. She laughed at me. Just because everybody says that. Yeah. Like eight out of ten people that have been switching lately always mention the Mikey show. That's awesome. That's awesome. Well, it's because people are figuring it out finally. That's funny. All right, dude. Thank you. All right, man. You brothers, have a nice day. You too. We're KIOZ San Diego. And we're going to be playing a new game on the air pretty soon, and we're going to give it a little test run right now. Oh, hello. We're going to be playing the newlywed game. And the way that it will work is it'll be... Me and my wife, Rebecca. It'll be Sky and her husband, Mr. Sky, which, by the way, you'll hear him on the air for the first time ever. First time in six years. The first time in six years. That's awesome. And Sean and his wife, Dina. And then it'll kind of work where you hit your horse, you know, the same way that we do a lot of games that we do where you're kind of, you're picking a team. You're either going to go with Mikey and Rebecca, with Sky and Mr. Sky, or Sean and Dina. Whoever you think will. Pull out a victory for you. That's the way it'll work. So let's test it out with Ashley and Eddie. Oh, we're not married. You ready, Hubby? I know you're not married, but you're going to check. Come in here, Ashley. Beautiful girlfriend tonight. Come in here, Ashley. Well, somebody has to leave the room. I know, but we're going to start with both of them in the room. I don't want to be married to Ashley. Should we start? You have to be married to Ashley. This is a nightmare. We're practicing. Will we make Whoopi? You will not make Whoopi.
Stop it. It's really awkward. Her mic? Is her mic on? Mic? Oh, her mic is not on. You don't have to turn it on. Pot roast? What? Is that what marriage is like? Are you going to walk the dog after work, hubby? Shut up. Okay. All right. I think I'm ready. Now. Who's going first? So let's have, I'm going to start on this. The first page is questions for women, so that means that, Eddie, you have to leave the room. Okay, sweetness. Shut up. I'm going to telepathy you. I'm going to telepathy you. Yeah, she's going to telepathy you, Eddie. All right, Eddie is now outside the room. All right. All right, are you ready, Ashley? I'm ready. Will your partner, Eddie, say he buys his favorite beverage in a bottle, a can, or a carton? Will your partner, Eddie, say that he buys his favorite beverage in a bottle, a can, or a carton? Go ahead and write your answer down. Don't tell me. That's right. By the time you hear this on the air, we'll have music. Okay. Here's your second question for your husband, Eddie. What will Eddie say is the most original thing about him? Be specific.
What will your partner, Eddie, say is the most original thing about him? Be specific. You got it? And you have to write down, you know, one and two so we know if that was question one or question two. I'm playing it long, too. And you have to turn it over and remember that when you hold it up, you know, you don't show the wrong thing. You know what I mean? I'm going to read it to the audience. Okay. Does that make sense, what I just said? I got it. I'm just nervous. Okay. Okay. Eddie, come back in. All right, here comes Eddie. This is awesome. No, I feel confident. I feel... Hi, sweetness. Sit down. I feel confident. All right, Eddie, are you ready? Yes. Do I write my answers down or do I just blur it out? Yeah, you'll just tell me. Are you ready? Yeah. All right, we asked your wife, Ashley, what she would say you buy your favorite beverage in, a bottle, a can, or a carton.
What do you think she said? Huh. Bottle, can, or a carton. Definitely not a carton. That would be like orange juice. Right, or like milk or whatever. She knows I drink Gatorade every day, and that's kind of, it's weird. It's like a plastic bottle, so I'll say bottle. And Ashley, what did you put? Hold it up. Ashley said a bottle. Yes! How about that? Gatorade. She even put Gatorade. Fantastic. Yeah, good job. Now, see, as we're playing this guy, what do you think would have been better? Should she have told the audience what she wrote down so they could be anticipating what he's going to say? I think so, huh? Good idea. That's what we'll do when she goes out of the room. In other words, when I asked her the question, she should have told the audience so that the audience would know. That's totally right. Okay. Okay, I'm nervous. Okay. All right, Eddie, we asked your wife, Ashley, what will... Eddie say is the most original thing about him? What will Eddie say is the most original thing about him? And we told her, be specific. Well, I would say my sense of humor. That's a good answer. That would be my guess. It's a good answer. We don't know what she wrote. Ashley, what did you put is the most original thing about Eddie? Hold up your sign. You have it sideways. Sorry.
His humor. Holy cow. Oh, look at you two. Man, you guys have been married a long time. All right, Ashley, you got to leave the studio. All right, I don't know how this is going to go. All right, so Eddie will answer right away so that the listeners can hear what his answer will be, right, Skye? That's the best way. Okay, Eddie, are you ready? Yeah. What will Ashley say is one of the most embarrassing things you could tell everyone about her last boyfriend? Oh, man. Be specific. What will your partner say is one of the most embarrassing things you could tell anyone about her last boyfriend. Be specific. Jeez, there's so many. I know. I love this game, and I think this will be fun on the radio for listeners. Okay. What? Gave her a yeast infection? What?
She's going to be so mad at you right now. She's going to kill you. How dare you, Eddie? Oh, my gosh. I'm blown away right now. I'm just trying to play the game. What about the time they played, like, the farting under the covers? Like, maybe that would have been... I'm giving stuff away. But I know this guy, but now you're embarrassing her even more. that one on the air. Okay, I don't know. No, I don't think so. I gotta hear about this. Okay, you ready for the next question? Oh, make it a good one. You are screwed, Eddie. Oh my God. Oh my God. Let's see, Eddie. Oh my God. I can't believe that. You are effed. Eddie, what will your partner say is your favorite finger food? Be specific. What will your partner say is your favorite finger food? Boy, that's tough. Oh, no. She knows what my favorite finger food would be. I've been your best friend for 20 years. I have an idea, but I'm not even sure. What do you think it is? I would say that it would be. Wait, wait, wait. We can't tell you what we think it's going to be. That's going to give you a ballpark. We can't. Oh, man.
I mean, because she's been with you to McGregor's and she's been, you know, it's how observant has she been? Well... I think I'm going to put trail mix because I was the one that started that whole craze. Okay. And she saw me. It was you. Across America. You began trail mix. It wasn't when we all went on the South Beach Diet and read in the book that you should have trail mix. You know what, Skye? You're right. You started it. I didn't say that. I didn't say that. Okay, okay. Go ahead, Eddie. Your favorite finger food is going to be trail mix. I'm going to put that because that's what I think she's going to say. Okay. Come back in, Ashley. Come on, girl. Come back in. All right, Ashley. Are you happy? I'm going to tell you this right now, Ashley. Got to be honest. All right? All right. The question that was posed to your husband, Eddie, was... Yes. What will Ashley say is one of the most embarrassing things that he could tell anybody about your last boyfriend? We asked Eddie, what is one of the most embarrassing things that you could tell us?
About her last boyfriend. What do you think he said? We asked him to be specific. I don't even want to. Oh, no. I hope that he's not listening. Um, hmm. Oh. That is a real question. That was round. I'm reading right from this book that that is the question. Maybe, um. The most embarrassing thing. About him? About my last boyfriend? We asked Eddie. Listen to the question. We asked Eddie. What will your partner say is the one most embarrassing thing you could tell everyone about her last boyfriend? Obviously something that he would know. God. Oh, my God. I'm trying to blink. I don't even know. Maybe that... I don't know. Five seconds. Okay, I'm going to just go out on a limb and say that he had a hard time.
You're going to phrase this correctly. It looks like you're not sure how to phrase it. I really do not know. I have no idea. Eddie, would you like to reveal? He shouldn't. He shouldn't reveal what he said. Should we go to the next question so she can get irritated at him off the air? Am I going to be scared? You want to get a reveal? Eddie said that he gave you a yeast infection. Ashley, I can't believe you said that either. I wasn't going to say that. She's throwing stuff at you. She's so mad right here, you dumbass. I'm sorry, Ashley. I'm just trying to win a game. I'm just trying to win a game. I'm just trying to win. No. Don't throw anymore. I'll do it. No, you can't throw anymore. I'm sorry. I was trying to win. I thought you would. The next question is. That's really embarrassing. I'm sorry. Ashley, what? Ashley, we asked Eddie, what will your partner say? Oh, God. I'm going to die. This is what we asked Eddie. Look how red she is. She is so red right now. She looks like a tomato. That's the worst. Oh, my God. Okay, Ashley, we asked Eddie. Sit down. All right.
Ashley, we've all had them, Ashley. We've all had them. Okay, great. Ashley, we asked Eddie, what will your partner say is your favorite finger food? Okay. We asked Eddie what you would say is his favorite finger food. Oh, is his favorite finger food. Yes. His favorite finger food. Ashley still reeling from the yeast infection? Dude, I'm like seeing red right now. Come on, focus. Totally. Come on, focus. Focus, Ashley. Your favorite finger food? Maybe french fries or chicken fingers. Is that your answer? Well, those are two things. Yeah, you must pick one. I'm just going to go with my gut and say chicken fingers. Eddie, you answered. Trail mix. I did not know that. Okay, this is officially my favorite game of all time. This is officially my favorite game of all time. Oh, my God. I don't know about this game. I totally knew that, and I was just like, there's no way. That was a secret that I told him. There's no way he would, like, explode that. Well, that's the newlywed game. On the newlywed game, you're supposed to win. I was just trying to win.
It was truly the most embarrassing thing, though, right? Well, yes, obviously. But I answered correctly. Yeah, that's right. For those of you who care, it's all taken care of. No big deal. And, you know, handled properly. And it's a common thing. They have a thing called monistat, and you take it, and it's all done with. And there you go. Thank you very much. All is well. I apologize. All right, we have to go. Hey. We have to get out of here. I got to walk out of here, get in my truck, and go. Oh, man. Likey show. Hello. Likey show. Now my phones aren't working. Oh, jeez. Okay. 5701053. Beginning and end of every show, we do an open phone segment. I don't know what I did. We were trying to win. I thought she would. And if I wouldn't have answered that and she would have said it, then wouldn't I have been the fool? Well, she didn't say it because she didn't want anyone to know. Because I for sure thought you kept that secret. I did. It was told to you in Kadunkadunk. Did I not keep it secret that whole time? Well, yeah, you did. Thanks. I'm a great friend. Mikey Shell, hello. Best husband ever. You're a good husband. I want a divorce. Mikey Shell. Are they like working on the phones already? I don't know. Remember how you asked him to...
