Welcome to Miller Lite's Mikey Show, live broadcast from the Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas. Miller Lite, great taste, less filling. Now put down your chips. And welcome, Rock 105.3's Mikey Show. Well, how are you? Yeah, we are brought from Las Vegas, Nevada at 6.01. More than 200 people showed up to a community forum last night about Monday's jet crash. Terrell Owens is at it again. He is upset with Tony Romo's relationship with Jason Witten. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Say that again. I gotta hear you say that again. T.O. is very upset. He is upset with Tony Robo's relationship with Jason Witten. He thinks they're too close. Were they spotted shopping together? What did they do? Did he catch them spooning? Did T.O. just go on his MySpace page and start doing stuff? Well, he saw that Jason Witten was in his top eight. Yeah. You're making things up. That really made him mad. You can't just make up the news, bro. He was like number three. Yeah, and T.O. was like, where am I?
No. He knows that they're BFs and that they're, like, roommates on the road and stuff like that. And T.O. thinks that because they're best friends that he's throwing him the ball more than to T.O. Oh, my gosh. Wow. That is stupid. Wow. Idiot. Mature. I love that guy. This is the same T.O. that cried at a press conference when Tony Romo was being criticized because he thought. Yeah, but that's when he was in the top eight. Exactly. I'm his best friend. Exactly. It's like we're doing a normal show. We're just doing it from the coolest, swingingest hotel in all of Las Vegas. Dude, I've never experienced anything like it. No. Never experienced anything like it. Yeah. This is where, like, okay, let's just say that they were to remake the movie Swingers. Okay, let's say that. I believe that definitely Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau would have definitely stayed here. Oh, yeah.
This place is money. They want the swingin'est joint, but they also want flat screens. Yeah, where all the honeys are at. Talk about it. You know what I'm saying? All my babies. All my sweet babies. Yeah. So let's introduce everybody. We are in the lounge. The lounge. The lounge. We're in the lounge. We're in the lounge. You don't need to say it like that. Like what? The emphasis on the? We are in the lounge. Already, really? And let me explain what the lounge is. This place has got to be cool probably tonight and Saturday night. Killer, you know, big round room. Big, giant, up-to-the-ceiling kind of drapes going throughout the whole room. All maroon, really cool lighting. And flat screen TVs all throughout it. In the center is a bunch of tables set up. And in the front, as you walk in, you're met by a bar. So you can sit there in what looks like kind of a crescent-shaped bar, order drinks, and then if you want to, you mingle on in into the lounge. Yeah, and there's like a stage set up where real good singers, I'm sure, belt out some sweet tunes. Oh, Ashley. Like, oh, the single ladies. Yeah, there you go.
No, Ashley. Ashley. Yeah, this is what it's going to be like. Gorgeous. Yeah, it's beautiful. I can't wait. I thought you were going to do a little Beyonce. What happened? Yeah, what happened? You were doing it earlier. You were doing it earlier. Actually, I don't necessarily, like, that's not my tone. I dance like Beyonce. Oh, I'm sorry. Because I'm part black. But Eddie said someone was going to stick a ruler in your mouth. Oh, wow. That's so nice. You look like a t-shirt. You know what? And when you say, and Ash, when you say that you're. part black, why don't you tell everybody the actual percentage. 0.01%. Yeah, that's not that much. 0.01%. Basically not, though, Sean. So in your face. But Ashley likes to tell people, hey, listen, if you had 0.01% poison in your coffee, how would you feel then, right? Exactly. Then there's a lot. Then there's a lot of poison. I'm black. Okay. So let's introduce. My name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show, and I am 38 years of age and realized beyond a shadow of a doubt this morning at about 520, I'm addicted to coffee. Oh, no. Wow. Hi, Mike. It's something I suspected, but now I'm sure of it. It's been confirmed. I'm 100% sure of it.
You know, my jaw was, like, shaking back and forth, and Rob had a cup of coffee in his hand. I didn't know where it came from. And I was like, where'd you get that? Where'd you get that? Where'd you get that? Where'd you get that? Just spit it in my mouth. Give me a little taste. Regurgitate it. Let me smell it. Let me smell it. Like a bird. Oh, yes, it's the end of the show, and this is the part of the show where we tell you Mike actually didn't do well. Mike actually didn't do well at all, unfortunately. Unfortunately, Mike is... Mike left the treatment center. Yes, and went immediately to a Starbucks where he drank from the container. Okay, so let's introduce. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy, and he is in a good mood. Already. I can see it. It's interesting when Eddie and I sit directly next to each other. It is. Uh-oh. There we go. There we go. He's got his armor. He just yanked her chair over to him. Put his arm around her. What am I supposed to do? Well, you just accept it because it's only worse if you try to deny it. She loves it. Don't pretend. Very hands-on. Eddie, why does she feign? I don't know.
That she doesn't not just love it, adore it. She fancies me. Eddie, desire it. All right, everyone. Let's take it down a notch. Okay. Okay. Let's see. Skye is our news girl. Hi, Mike. And did we all get good rest? Yeah. Everybody all rested? She's very antisocial. He's been saying that to her all morning. Let me tell you what's going on. We'll get there. I'm sorry. We'll get there. I'm sorry. All right. So let's see. Shawnee O'Boy is here with us. Shawnee O'Boy. Hi. Don't do that. What did he do? How did he touch you? I don't think he even touched you. He did touch me. Dude, you got your nice Batman shirt on. Don't freak out. It's very glittery. I love the glitter. I think it's cool, Sean. Thank you, Eddie. I like it too, Sean. It's very bedazzled. I like it. Sean, don't listen to them. It's like Batman and Hillcrest. It's awesome.
Don't listen to that. It is awesome, dude. It isn't. It's like Batman going to a formal. Shut up. Shut up. The glitter night? Yes. The sparkling night. Then there's Ashley. She is our assistant producer. She is 25 years old. Silverback. She was also on American Idol. Silverback. She really was. No, no, no. I know you're listening. You're like, oh, no, she wasn't. No, no, no. She was. Thank you. She didn't make it to Hollywood. Well, no. It was close, though. I came really, really close. Kevin, when she does that, you have the right to turn the mic off. No, Kevin. No, no, no, no. No, don't do that. Don't do that. Don't do that. I knew that right. Uh-oh. Right. And then there is Boston Rob, who is freshly shorn. Yeah. Oh, man. It's so cold. And let me talk about that immediately so that people know. Yes, please. That's ridiculous. Yeah, I just want to let people know exactly what's going on with him. I just want to make sure I'm not giving anything away before I should. It's okay, Eddie? Yeah. Okay. Boston Rob was going to shave his head, and we said that if we got $1,000, we would shave a NY symbol into his head. So with about 45 minutes left yesterday of us taking donations, we had about $300 or close to $300. Yeah, not even.
We didn't have 300 bucks. We got close to 300 bucks. And we decided that we were going to go about 45 more minutes. I was embarrassed because I thought we were going to, you know, we're giving half of it to Rady's Children's. And I was like, oh, here's a check for $100. And Rob, here's your hundred. Good luck. And so we had 45 minutes left and we decided we're not probably not going to raise a thousand. And so we might as well just shave his head. So we shaved his head. We do the rest of the show. They're tallying the money. We do the rest of the show. We end the show. We go back in the office. We're hanging out in the office. We're probably there 30 minutes in the office. And we get an email that says, you guys raised $1,058. How the heck did that happen? Dude, it's amazing. Dude, it's very amazing. It's cool. Thank you. Awesome. You know, Rady's Children's Hospital gets a check for 500 bucks, so that's pretty cool. And so it's awesome. But there was a problem. And Sky kept saying...
look at Mike right now. Look at Mike right now. Look at Mike. Mike got the news that there had been a thousand dollars raised, but Rob's head was already shaved. He was like in shock. And so Eddie goes, no problem. And internally I went, because I, I know, I know Eddie. And I know that if he says no problem, it's probably going to be worse than the original idea for Rob. So we're still going to pay off on this. It's just that we're going to, instead of shaving it into his head, we're going to take a stencil and we're going to spray paint it into his head. We're going to spray paint the New York Yankees emblem because he's a big Boston Red Sox fan. He's got the word Boston tattooed across his throat. That's ridiculous. So when you see him walking around San Diego next week, you know, I would just feel free to mention it. Yeah, well, not only that. Point it out. I'm going to show you the back of his head. Yeah. Well, he's going to go do the You Got Robbed and things like that. Yeah. You know, Monday. Yeah. And so he's going to have a nice NY on there. That is so stupid. On the back of his head. I love it. And Rob, because I know exactly how you operate. No hats.
You know he would have, right? No question. He would have been like, no beanies either. No beanies. No head covering. No head covering. None. All of San Diego needs to see that. No do-rags. No bonnets. No turbans. Not like a normal night. No bonnets. Nothing like that. Nothing like that. I'll wear a sweatshirt. No hooded sweatshirt. Stop it. No swim caps. Finally, there is the artist formerly known as Sir Roosevelt Zethian Oates III, Jr., Esquire, MD, DDS. President and CEO. Oh, as seen on TV. That's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, he's famous. He's famous. Or not. Or not. And, by the way, we also have three crazy P1s that came up here. We love you guys. They're awesome. Dude, we have three P1s that actually came to Vegas, and they were like, get our own rooms. There's actually more.
I've run into a few. Oh, yeah. They're probably just partied out. And we even saw a lady at the airport. Yeah, a gal at the airport. Yeah, I had a very awkward encounter with a woman at the airport. So you know how you line up to get, you know, Southwest. It's like, oh, if you're a group A, number one through blah, blah, blah, stand here, wait to get on the plane. So I walk up to my spot and there's a lady standing at me, staring at me. And I'm like, okay, that's kind of weird. And then all of a sudden she puts out her fist and puts it like right towards my face. And it's just staring at me. And I'm like. And then I just stare back at her. Oh, wow. Because I don't know what's going on. I, like, think she's about to punch me. Right. Like, I have no idea. And then she goes, do you know what I'm doing? And I'm like, what? And she goes, do you know what I'm doing?
Black power? And I'm like, the P1 fist bump? She's like, finally! I felt like the biggest dork. So there are P1s who are going to be coming out here later. There's a cute little kid at the airport in San Diego. Spencer. Bubbles. Little kid. He comes walking up to Boston Rob. Boston Rob's sitting there with his fiancée at the gate. And he comes up and he goes, are you Boston Rob? And Rob goes, yeah. And he goes, can I have your autograph? It's the best. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How much money you got, kid? Yeah. You ever heard of three-card Monty? That's right. We'll play a game. So here we are, man. We're in Las Vegas. Oh, yeah. Rolling. Okay, so we get here last night. We get here last night, probably 6 o'clock, I'd say. Yeah. And the... the consensus among the show is that people want to go eat and I probably go to bed the earliest. I go to bed at six. We landed at six. And so all I want to do is get back here and get in bed. And so I am, uh, and my wife is a party aminal. She likes to rage. And so she wants to rage with everybody. And so, uh, I go up, go to bed. But as soon as I get up to the room, uh,
my computer bag is missing. Oh, talk about it. And I began to panic because all I'm thinking is it's in back of this, um, Israeli guy's cab, uh, somewhere, you know, yes, somewhere at Barbary coast. And some dude at Barbary coast is like sending out emails and you know, You know, yes, somewhere at Barbary Coast and some dude at Barbary Coast is like sending out emails and you know, whatever, buying goats, whatever. And so I go into flip out mode and I called I called or texted every person on the show. I don't know if I did you, Sky, because I thought you'd be mad. She was so anti-social, Mike. It was like she wouldn't have answered anyway. Finally, I get... Who did I get? Me, right? I got you? Well, first I talked to... I think Seth said Eddie's got it, or Rob has it, or I don't remember. But anyway, Rob had it. And I call Rob, and Rob goes, yeah, dude, I got it. You want to meet downstairs in the lobby in like 10 minutes? And I'm...
It actually sounded like this. He goes, yeah, dude. Lobby, like, minutes. Which is making me flip out, okay? And I'm like, hold on. Rob, what did you say? Making you flip out. When he called, I, like, you would have thought something else was wrong. Dude, he was screaming into the... Rob, I heard you have my computer! It's true. And I was, yeah, dude, I got it. Don't worry. It's safe. It's safe. It was because it was breaking up. And so he goes like this. Oh, man. So I'm like, Rob, where, you know, no, no, no. What floor are you on right now? And he's like, on the, and I go, what? Oh, no. And he goes. Four. And I go, dude, say it again slow. Please say it again slow. And he's like, 16th. And I go, did you say 16th? And I'm like, I go, hey, I go, dude, stay where you are. I will meet you at the elevators at 16 right now. He goes, 10 minutes. No, Rob!
And so I go to his floor, and I'm standing there. I'm standing there. I'm standing there for 45 seconds. And already texting me. I'm standing there for 45 seconds, and I'm like, where is Rob? You're too much, man. Oh, jeez. And so he made me wait. 45 seconds. I was hanging up the phone and already getting a text from Mike going, I'm outside. So after 45 seconds of him just leaving me there, I text him, where are you? I'm telling Swissa, be quiet. We got to stay in here for a little bit. Oh, that is funny. But anyway, so I got to catch up and find out what happened last night. Eddie? Wow. I had a night. Oh. It was crazy. So first of all, me and Zeph.
Basically met every Ultimate Fighter there is. Are you serious? Oh, my gosh. It was outrageous. Like who? Well, we ran into almost every guy that's fighting on Saturday night from the Ultimate Fighter TV show. And all of them are cutting weight because they weigh in today. So they're all. Miserable. Okay, explain what cutting weight is and explain why they're miserable. They have weight division, so you have to weigh in at a certain weight. Say they're a light heavyweight, they have to weigh in at 205 pounds. Well, most of these guys walk around... between like 10 and 20 pounds heavier than their weight and then they cut like a few a couple days beforehand to get to that weight limit so that they you know still are big eddie you're telling me these guys would be walking on a couple days before at 225 yeah some of them will do that oh my god it's insane and so what do they do and then so they they
basically dehydrate themselves and uh don't eat anything don't you know barely drink anything and uh weigh in so that they weigh in at 205 they get rid of all their water weight and then they rehydrate themselves the rest of the day is that all it takes to lose 20 pounds is just don't eat well they also work out so they're working out with no food with and you know like those trash bag type things so they sweat out all their water weight which you would think would be tough in itself because you need energy to work out it's it's It's misery. It's absolute misery. I have an eating disorder. You know, anybody that's wrestled or anything like that, it's because, wait, it's hell. Yeah. You know, these guys, and they sit in the sauna and just get rid of all their water weights. Sweated out. So it's brutal. And so these guys are walking around yesterday, and you could just see on their faces they're hating life. And so me and Zetha, you know, we saw him, and, you know, I walk up to one of the guys, Elliot Marshall, and I go, what's up, man? And he just kind of looks at me. And I go. Eddie's doing a drippy face. I go, are you still cutting? And he's like, yeah. I go, okay. And I didn't even say another word to him. I'm glad for the food on you. The one guy. Now, Eddie, Eddie. Now, okay. So then they weigh in, right? Yeah. They make it. Yeah. Do you immediately start eating? Well, you can't. Like you have to gradually rehydrate yourself. So they drink like, what is that stuff called?
Pedialyte. Oh, peanut noir. Peanut noir. A little sweet berry wine. Yeah. Just a little peanut noir. So they drink, you know, stuff to rehydrate. And then they slowly can start eating and stuff like that. And then by the next day, they're pretty much normal. Now, I wonder if, because I don't know anything about what would be the optimum thing to have before going in the ring. But I wonder if they are eating a steak or if they're eating like something heavy. Like lasagna or something like that. No, not right before, but, you know, like before. I'm talking like. They'll carve up. I do that, too. I do that, too. Yeah, but, you know. I carved up last night, actually, in the room service. Weird. No, no, no. Decided to. Interesting. Interesting. So then what? So you saw some of these guys? So then the only guy that really looked like he was fine was that guy Bader. We talked about he's in the finals. He's in the light heavyweight finals. He walks by us and his opponent is sitting at the table next to us. And so I'm like, you know me, I'm an idiot. And Bader's walking by. I go, hey, Bader, he's right there. Go get him. And Bader just starts laughing. And he's like, yeah, I'm going to. And his opponent's looking over like.
What's up, you know? And we almost started a brawl right in the middle of the... Dude, can you imagine if Eddie had started a brawl at the Palms last night between those guys? Sick. I would have got free dinner. Breaking news. Last night at the Palms. It was pretty awesome. So that was most of the night, and then we started playing a little bit, and I was... getting killed on the blackjack table. So I said, ah, screw this. And I walked over and played roulette. And I usually will do that to just kind of switch up my mojo. And Jay, our promotions director, and Zeth were standing over there with me. And they noticed that I was putting quite a bit of money on 33, which is my favorite number. And they're like, oh, you know, is that how you do it? And I go, yeah, I pretty much put, you know, a certain amount of money on 33. And then I kind of sprinkle other numbers around. And then I had $10 on 33 and it hit. And everybody was like, oh, that's awesome. And we were like high-fiving the dealers and stuff like that. That's like $300, isn't it? $350. $35 to $1. Dude. So we're laughing and stuff. And then he spins it and it hits again. No, it didn't. Show me the money. Jay's freaking out. Scott, he'll show it to you. Just be patient. Relax, sweetie. Relax. Yeah, yeah, yeah. As soon as we go into commercial.
As soon as we go into commercial, Eddie promises he'll open his wallet and he'll let you see. I'm going to. We're in the middle of a broadcast. Trust me. Eddie, she's not going to let us go on until you actually open it. All right, fine. Here, look. It's right there. There, look. Gosh. Finish your story. So Jay's freaking out and Zeth's freaking out. Again, the dealers, high-fiving, all this stuff. And another number hits. It wasn't mine. And then 33 hit again. No, it did not. Three out of four times it hit. And we all were just like, holy cow. Dude. This is crazy. And so the pit boss comes over and pulls the dealer out and goes, what are you? And Jay heard the whole thing. He's like, what are you doing? To the pit boss? To the dealer. To the guy that's spinning the roulette ball. Because the dealer is encouraging Zeph. He's like, get in on this, man. Get in on 33. He's like, why would you tell everybody to get on that number? Are you an idiot? No way. And it's all within earshot. Jay heard the whole thing.
It was crazy. And how did the dealer react? He's just like, oh, you know, I'm sorry. Have fun, you know, which is BS. You know, it was total BS. Yeah. But, you know, it was crazy. And then I hit, I think, four or five more numbers. Are you kidding? In the span of, like, the next 10 minutes. Oh, my gosh. I was crazy. It was the best roulette run I've ever had. Oh, my. That's insane. So you made, like, two grand in, like, 10 minutes. No, not that much, but pretty. Pretty good amount. Dude. That's nuts. Yeah, it was fun. Wow. That is nuts. Yep. That's cool. Then I went to bed. Then nighty night. Anybody else do any good on the gaming floor? I did, Mike. I played video blackjack, and I won two bucks. You did? Oh, okay. I was really pumped on it. Wow. I'm really pumped on it. That is a lot of money. Yeah, I was really stoked. I was proud of myself. Well, ladies and gentlemen. Got up to $4.75, but then got crazy. All right, here's what I want to do. Apparently, our phones work from where we are.
We can be in Vegas and we can answer request lines. So 570-1053 is our phone number. 570-1053. Can I check texts from my laptop here, Boston and Rob? Yeah, we should be able to. Why don't you turn that laptop around, Robin? Oh, there is a lot of chords connected to this. Yeah, dude. So let's just call it a no. What do you say? Unbelievable. Why don't we just not, dude? I vote for no. Sorry. Chords, bro. Mike, there's a chord connected to it. Things don't move with chords on it. And Jay, are we streaming? Get up and go to the other side. Oh, okay. They're working on getting us streaming live. Oh, so people can watch? So people can watch. It's in the process. That's why there's a lot of chords. It's going to be like watching grass grow, but you're going to see us just sitting here, which is kind of cool. It's pretty awesome. Well, I look great today, so. Yes. Who says that, dude? I don't know. Let me tell you. What's the problem? Let me tell you. She says to me yesterday, she goes, I went home yesterday. I watched the podcast of me eating two times. That was really funny. Oh, my God. That was really, really compelling on video. Hey, by the way, she was so funny. We're going through the security.
And when you go through security, I've never seen them do this, but they take your driver's license. They shine a special light on it. Sometimes they'll do that. Yeah. And so we move through. She's she's right behind me and Rebecca. So we move through and I go, what a trip. They're checking the watermark. And she goes, oh, yeah, get it down mine. She reaches into her purse and takes out this big bottle of water. And seriously starts going. And kills a whole. And I'm in awe of her. 20 seconds. And I go, that's not what I meant. 570-1053 is the number. And let's see if we are actually able to take some of these calls. Let's see now. Guess who's running the controls back at the station? Oh, a trip out on there. Well, she's been working for the company now for a couple of months. P1 Quimby is. Get out of here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Quimby, you got to make sure that red light is on by the phone, on the phone deal and up. And we'll give this a shot.
Ladies and gentlemen, P1 Paparazzi is on the line. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. It's the first one that came up there. It's the first one. I've been having such great luck. It's the first one. My luck is now ruined. No, it isn't. Oh, no. It trips over, guys. Paparazzi, are you there? I hope I get that luck. I am. Quimby, turn him up just a little bit. Turn that pot up just a little bit. Go ahead, Paparazzi. Can you hear me now? Yep. All right. What's up? I don't think the spray paint on B-Rob's head is a great idea because I don't think the last one's 24 hours. Things that start peeling. Thanks, paparazzi. That's very encouraging. I have a suggestion for a solution on that. Okay. Instead of using that, use hair dye or food coloring. I like it. If it'll stay on a bald head. He's got a bald head. Exactly. So it'll stay in the skin for a good week or so. Okay. That's why you have to wear gloves and stuff when you use hair dye. Got it. And food coloring, you know, that'll stain you too. Eddie. Oh, no. I'm not here. It's one call.
We've got a lot of calls coming through. Thank you, paparazzi. I appreciate you. No, you don't. You do not. No, you don't. No, you don't. No, you don't. P1 Robert is on the line. Hey, guys. No, not you. Not you. Robert, are you there? Yep. What's up, dude? Oh, what did I do? What did I do? I don't know what I did. Mike, he had your laptop, bro. Control-Alt-Delete. Robert, are you there? Hello? Way to go. Call back, Robert. Yeah, call back. I messed up. 570-1053 is our phone number, and we can talk to you from Vegas. P1, Jalapeno is on the line. Jalapeno. Yeah, Jalapeno. Good morning, guys. How are you guys doing out there in Vegas? Good, brother. What's up? I'm just driving to work, and I was listening to Eddie talk about Ryan Bader and his opponent, Vinny Malby. I was wondering what his opinion was of who was going to win that fight. Well, you know, watching them yesterday, it looked like Vinny was really struggling to cut weight, and Bader looked fine. He was just walking around laughing, having a good time. That being said, though, I think that Vinny is going to tap him out within a minute.
What? Yeah, see, Bader is a wrestler, and so his whole thing is, I want to take you to the ground and kind of pound you out. And Vinny is a... black belt jujitsu guy. And so if he goes to the ground, he'll just grab a little arm and you're done. Eddie, what is Bader's personality like and what is Vinny's personality like? Vinny is very cocky. He thinks he's kind of like a pretty boy. He's Brazilian. Fancies himself as a ladies man type of a guy. Bader is kind of a jock. You know, real... Kind of studly kind of guy. Handsome. Dark side. Yes. Vader. No, that's different. Different one. That's Vader. That's Vader. B and a V. Total difference. P1 Robert is back on the line, and we got him back. Oh, good. Go ahead, Robert. This is all out of the kindness of my heart and everything. I just want to let Sky know she should probably stay at the bars with her books this weekend. We don't want to cause any problems.
Sky, I don't know why you're rolling your eyes. I mean, this guy is calling. He stated from the beginning with kindness in his heart. We know what happened at Harrah's in New Orleans when you were minding your own business, at the bar, reading a book. Easy being a whore. I am not a prostitute. I'd hate to see her not come home for the weekend. Save that clip. Thank you. Listen. We have to take a quick timeout. We have to take a quick timeout. Scott, you look beautiful today. That's right. You're going to get top dollar. That's right. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. You jerk. We've got to take a quick timeout. And let's see. You're a real hooker. Shut up. Hey, Quim, do we have any beds that we're using? that we're going in and out with. Go ahead and give me one of those bets because I think we have some Vegas stuff, right? We put some Vegas stuff in there. Give me some of that. Hit me up one time. Sounds good. We've got to get the Vegas vibe going. You know what I'm saying? That's not Eddie. I don't know what that is. I'm so embarrassed. That's really weird. I love it.
You guys want to know something? That was a dead-on impression. I agree. Zephy and Oates Rome was underneath a suite with a bowling ball. It's true. Here at the Palms, they really have... Seriously. There it is. Wow. There it is. I know it. That guy's great. You threw a couple of interceptions, you said? No, he did great. You did? Yeah. 570-1053 is our phone number. If you want to give us a call, 570-1053. And our text number is 35253. So if you want to, you can text us as well. We are broadcasting live from the Palms Resort and Casino. And I got to tell you, man, we've stayed at different places. Oh, yeah. And there's been times where we stay at different places, and I may even like it. But I'm thinking to myself, you know, I like it and everything, but I don't know if I would stay there necessarily. I would be back at this place in a heartbeat. Oh, definitely. Because it's the best. It's pretty awesome. It's the best. Well, just even this broadcast setup, like when we've been in Vegas before, they put us in some sort of like conference room with like a folding card table. You know, like we're in the coolest lounge right now. Flat screens everywhere. These cool booths. It's sweet. The smell of money permeating through the air. Yes.
I thought we were going to be friends today. The only thing better would be is if the roulette tables had a spit on them where a pork was roasted. What? Oh, really, Mike? That's the only thing better. Oh, you're so funny. That would be weird. Maloof, get on that. Please. Money, money, money. So I'm looking at some of the stuff that they have here, and some of the stuff that they have you've probably already heard about or seen on TV. When my mom has heard... of Ghost Bar. Oh, wow. That is awesome. That is awesome. Esther's heard of Ghost Bar? Dude. She gets it. Well, first of all, she reads people, right? She reads people, and you always see in People Magazine the celebrities are at Ghost Bar, which I didn't know anything from anything. I thought just anybody could be like, oh, there's a bar upstairs? Okay, cool, I'll go. Saturday night, I don't know how I'm going to do it. It's 10 o'clock. Very exclusive. You know, it's one of those kind of deals. It's just kind of fun to experience. And it's a pretty awesome thing. It's 50. It's on the 51st floor, 55th floor, 55 floors up. Incredible view of Vegas.
It's the best. And it's one of those. Oh, that sounds like fun. It is. It does sound like fun. It's one of the indoor-outdoor things. So, like, they make the outside of it as comfortable with couches and all that kind of deal as the inside. It kind of freaks you out a little bit. Because, you know, I'm not great with heights. And I walk out there and I'm like, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Pretty awesome. But it's cool, man. It's cool to check out Vegas and all that stuff. There's also a room called. The Pearl. Is that where we're going to be seeing the... The Pearl is where the fights are. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we're going to see the fights. That's their little arena. It's pretty cool. It's a theater, and it holds up to 2,500 people. What's really going to be cool is how intimate it's going to be. Thank you. Because, you know, we've seen UFC before, but in big, giant arenas. This is going to be kind of a small venue. You'll be able to smell the blood. Oh, wow. Ashley. Wow, look at her. She's a barbarian. Skye, she's a barbarian. I love it. We got a flavor. So we're going to be watching it. Yep. We're going to be watching it. Even you guys know this, by the way. Did you guys all P1s listening right now? Even Sky. Yep. I know it. Yeah. Yeah. I may bring my book. I'm not lying. I may bring my book. Well, just in case. Your book. Well, it may get too intense. I may need something to distract me. You are ridiculous. Do they serve cocktails in there?
Of course. Are you still reading those Nora Roberts porno books? No, I've taken a break and I've moved on to a little Stephen King, which is different than Nora Roberts, I'm finding out. 570. Just a little bit different. Same job. That's freaking you out, too. Like, that's giving you nightmares. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Between the two, I would just get, like, Finding Nemo if that comes in book form. If that comes in book form. That's a good idea. 570-1053 is our phone number. You can call us out here if you would like to. 570-1053. Text us at 35253. P1 Chargerette is on the line. What's up, Chargerette? Hey, guys. Just wanted to say I love you. And was thinking about a henna tattoo for the back of Rob's head? Oh, that's cute. That would definitely stick. That is cute. That is adorable.
Spray paint, or putting a little henna NY, some Yankees action in. Oh, yeah, Mike. That would be so great. Oh, whatever. Fine, I'll do it. I don't care. Fine, whatever. Yeah, I don't care. Are you going to pay me for that, too? Yeah. How much per henna? Wait, per henna? 570-1053 is the phone number. We would love to talk to you. Call us and talk to us live while we're in Las Vegas. What about Moon Club? It's another exclusive nightclub here. That place looks awesome. Going there tonight. Are you? Uh-huh, on the list. Are you going to dance the night away? Well, I think Moon is kind of more like a lounge, from my understanding. It's kind of a cool, chill place. Someone's shaking their head no. No, it's not. I'm misinformed. Oh, it's actually more of a nightclub. I thought it was, too, because it looks like a nightclub. Okay, because my plan was to go to Moon to kind of chill and then go to Rain, and that is a nightclub. But I guess I'm going to two nightclubs tonight. Okay, then I'm going to do a lot of dancing tonight. That was my plan. I've been to Rain. Rain is awesome. Yeah. I'm really excited to check out both places tonight. Let's see. What do we got going on in the news? The news. The news.
There's actually a few things going on. First of all, the president-elect. I don't know that we've ever heard from a president so much before he's become president. I'm so happy we do. But President-elect Obama had a press conference yesterday where he said the following about Illinois governor. What is it, Skye? The governor of Illinois. There you go. That's how it's pronounced. That's not his name. Cut 11. I'm also aware of your interest in the matter of the Illinois Senate appointment. Let me say that I was as appalled and disappointed as anybody by the revelations earlier this week. I have never spoken to the governor on this subject. I am confident that no representatives of mine would have any part of any deals related to this seat. I think the materials released by the U.S. attorney reflect that fact. And I think he should be hung. Oh, wow. Obama has called for his resignation and the governor of Illinois is like, no, I'm good. I'm just going to hang out here for a while. You're not my dad. Yeah. Let's see. What else is going on? No. Anything going on with the Jake Peavy thing, Eddie? Oh, yeah. There's a little something going on. It's over. What?
Are you serious? Yeah. They got it done. No, opposite. They didn't get it done? Both teams have declared the trade dead. Good. Are you serious? Yeah. So Jake Peavy stays a Padre. Welcome back. For right now, yeah, he's still a Padre. Welcome back. That's not awkward. That's so weird. Yeah, exactly. That's so awkward. That's brutal. Can you imagine how weird that's going to be playing? I know. I know. Oh, my goodness. You know, I honestly. Some irony up in here. That's right. I got to think the Padres are shocked right now. Yeah. Because their one offseason goal was to trade Peavy and get a bunch of hot prospects. Right. And they weren't able to get it done. And what's kind of shocking to me is, you know, Peavy's, you know, he's one of the best pitchers in the lead, if not the best pitcher. Dude, stud, man. And his contract isn't outrageous. It's a very reasonable contract. Right. And so I'm shocked that teams aren't, like, chomping at the bit to get him. I wonder if they think something's wrong with them or something. It could be that the Padres are asking too much. I think that's what it is. But it's surprising, man. And all they're asking for is, like, minor league guys, right? Yeah, but, like, guys that could eventually become, you know, like, the next all-stars.
Sky, has Fox responded in any way to Paula Abdul basically going on and saying that they knew this woman was crazy that committed suicide in front of her house? Yeah, Paula's been talking crazy talk all week, which I guess isn't really new for her. But yeah, she's been talking to Barbara Walter. She also went on Letterman and basically said what Mike said, that this stalker woman who had killed herself out in front of Paula Abdul's house, that the producers from American Idol knew that she was a stalker, knew she was a crazy woman, but still... put her on the show for entertainment value, put her on American Idol. So there are now reports out today that executives... Did Simon Cowell just say that that was utterly... He did. It's kind of inappropriate. I think he's one of the producers. Simon, if it was that bad, you know what I mean? Why would you... Utterly horrendous. I said it again. This is pathetic. Well, you're sitting there trying to... Now you're judging this? So execs from American Idol have reportedly told Paul Abdul, I mean, basically to shut her stupid mouth, but... Shut her piehole!
Oh, my God. That's right. That's what they did. Wow. Oh, my God. That was actual audio. That was a conversation between executives at Fox and Paul Abdul. That was an OMG moment. But technically, they told her, hey, lady, you're still our employee. You still have a contract here, and you need to abide by our rules. That was another example. That was from the meeting. That's right. That's all they said. And they were like, okay, fine. Polly just sat there weeping while the guy said that to her. That's a very strange story. So. Okay. No one said it was. Stop screaming at us. There is a McDonald's inside of this casino, man. Dude, there's a food court. I know it. So I was over there right now getting some coffee, and I turn around, I'm like...
Is that a movie theater? Yeah, dude. There's a full-on movie theater. It's a movie theater inside the Palms. It's awesome. We know what Mike's doing this weekend. Oh, dude. No doubt. There's a big sign out there for the Day the Earth Stood Still. Oh, yes. You know you're going to go. Seriously. I'm going to go to see the Day the Earth Stood Still despite the fact that Keanu Reeves is in the Day the Earth Stood Still. What planet are you talking about, dude? Oh, Eddie. Let's take a listen. Cut 30. I've been sent here to determine who or what you represent. I represent a group of civilizations. Are you kidding me? Before you were human. It would only frighten you. Why have you come to our planet? Your planet. Yes, this is our planet. No, it is not. Riveting. Oscar material. And the Oscar goes to Keanu Reeves, The Day the Earth Stood Still. Oh, Keanu. Thank you so much. I have so many people to thank. My dialect coach. Yes, you got Alien really well. You did it really good. Thanks, bro. You nailed it.
So anyway, I think I still might see it. Really? I'm serious. Why? Of course. I'm serious, man. That's awesome, dude. Let's see. Okay. Quick timeout and your phone calls. Line them up. Line up the phone lines. 5-7-UP. 5-7-UP. Yep. It's my favorite. Heads up, 7-UP. 5-7-UP, 105-3. Give us a call right now. Get all lined up on the request lines. And we are live from the... coolest hotel and resort and casino I think I've ever been at. Ever. The Palms is the Balms. How do you like that? You like that? The Palms is the Balms. And by the way, you know, they still have good rates on the room, so if you wanted to even come down here, stay with us. There's P1s that are waking up and kind of trickling in here, and so it'd be awesome, man. I mean, this place is cool. We take a quick timeout. And when we come back, we've got all kinds of cool stuff that I've got to be telling you about. So don't go away. Some really, really sad news. We'll give you the details. I don't even really know the details about this story with Macaulay Culkin's sister, Diane, in a car crash and hit by a car. We'll tell you the details about it. We'll come back and give you all that. And we'll be back live from Las Vegas at the Palms Resort and Casino. It's a Mikey show.
The Mikey Show continues. Thank you for being big enough to laugh at yourself this morning. Hard not to be overwhelmed by all the pretty blinking lights and sounds. Back to Miller Lite's Mikey Show live broadcast from the Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas. Miller Lite. Great taste. Less filling. The Mikey Show continues on Rock 105.3. Welcome back. It is the Mikey Show live from Las Vegas, Nevada. It's 7.02. After it had passed the House, the Senate yesterday rejected the auto bailout plan. A federal judge extended his preliminary injunction against the NFL suspension of five players for violating the league's anti-doping policy, a move their lawyer said will let them play the rest of the season. Before we went to break, I told you that we were going to come back and we were going to tell you what the deal is with this Macaulay Culkin story. His sister, his sister.
What happened, Skye? Well, he has a sister, Dakota. She's 29 years old, and I guess she was hit by a car when she stepped off a curb in L.A. on Tuesday. She was taken to UCLA Medical Center and then unfortunately ended up dying of her injuries. That's terrible. So they're investigating the matter, you know, as far as the car that hit her and how that all exactly went down and who was at fault there. But as of now, no arrests have been made. That's terrible, man. Yeah. Let's see. If you would like, you can call us because we can take calls from out here at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. And I can't say enough about this place, man. It is real, real sweet. Yeah. 570. Yeah, it is. Yeah, baby. 570-1053 is the number. Yes, I'm on the phone. Our text is 35253. This is really cool, man. Just the overall look of where we're broadcasting from right now. Yeah, it looks like one of those places like Sinatra would have sang at. It really does, man. It's got the long hanging lights coming down from the ceiling that are in those sort of retro 60s kind of light fixtures. Very intimate. Yep. And it's got, Sky, I have no idea what those big white.
thingies are that are over there that are coming up? What would you call those things? Oh, gosh. I don't know. It's not a lamp. Well, it kind of is. It's like a hanging lamp. Well, they're not hanging. It's like a floor lamp that's really tall. It's a very, very, very tall. Oh, the mesh lamps. Yes. You know what it looks like? It looks like that sort of piping material that you vacuum, that your vacuum hose is made out of. I actually have lamps like that in my house. They're so cool. Looks like them oriental lamps, Mike. Yeah. That didn't sound right. That sounded bad. They're so cool. This room is cool. Everything about this place is just very hip. And, you know, last night when we were checking into this place, I was actually thinking to myself, like, what? Must go into designing in this oh, man, you know because you don't you don't just like I this I know for sure in order for a Casino to be successful Everything has to be right. You know the vibe has to be right
The tables have to look a certain way. The floor. Every single thing that you see is designed. From the way the lights look in the place. From the way the tables are laid out and structured. What kind of food you have there. What kind of performers you have come in. What the people are dressed like when you walk up to the desk to check in. Every single part about it. And the one thing that I tripped out on when we came here is. this is slick man like every single thing from the time you walk in to the time you check in to where you're walking what you're looking at everything is slick well the the owners are the maloof brothers you know yeah and they are slick guys you know and so george maloof who's one of the owners he's kind of like the the face of the brothers is gonna stop by and say hi to us today Dude, I got questions, man. Yeah, man. So he'll probably tell you how they designed everything and all those stuff. He owns the Sacramento Kings.
These guys are legit. What sport is that? Basketball. A P1 maiden. What did you do? Mike, another cool thing is you might not even notice this unless they tell you about it, but look up when you're out on the casino floor and the ceiling fans, they're not your average like, you know, four foot radius or whatever. They're like 30 feet. Oh my gosh. Oh really? Like propellers? Yeah, right? That's a trip. It's such a trip. I want those in my house. Hey, the guy that was just calling in right now, he wanted to ask and see if we have any info. Because it said, heard blurb about Kaylee's body. And this is that Florida story. Oh, yeah. The little girl in Florida. I guess there's something going on. Yeah, well, utility workers were working in an area by, well, let's go back. Okay, so Kaylee Anthony is this little girl in Florida who went missing in June. Her mom.
Casey Anthony is 22 years old. And from the beginning of the daughter going missing, the whole thing was just shady. Like the mom didn't report her missing for about a month and then said she was with a babysitter and that person like didn't really exist or something. And then, you know, they did a search of her car and the cadaver dogs like picked up weird scents in the car. Like the whole thing was just shady and creepy. And the mom has actually been in police custody. But there was never a body. Nobody ever knew what happened. Well, of course, the grandparents of this girl were very involved in their granddaughter's life. And they searched around the grandparents' home. But I guess the time they did the search, there was like a body of water there. Well, the water has since receded. And utility workers were in the area doing stuff. And they found a bag that had like a skull and bones and stuff in it. Yeah, so the police came out and immediately, you know...
closed off the area and have taken all the remains and are going to do testing to try and find out if they are, you know, Kaylee's remains. And they also, I guess, have, you know, gotten a warrant for the grandparents' house because they don't know if maybe something had gone down there. And so they've closed that off. They've gotten a warrant and they're going to be, I believe, searching that today. Now, wasn't the focus of the investigation was kind of on her mom, right? Kaylee's mom? Yeah, definitely the mom. Kind of sounds like that the mom was, you know, kind of troubled. You know, a young mom, you know, 22 years old. Kind of sounds like she was, you know, hanging out with the rough crowd doing some weird stuff. And the grandparents seemed like they were really the rock in their granddaughter's life. They were the ones who, you know. So, you know, who knows? We could all speculate why that location, what went on. But it's kind of hard for me to believe at this point that the grandparents were actually involved. You know, because they seem like the do-gooders. in this whole story. So we'll keep you updated on that. Wow. And I read in the USA Today right now also that they did like they were searching different police departments to find out if there were any other missing kids around that age in that area and they said no. Yeah. Let's see. Kate Walsh's husband filed for divorce. Already? I don't know who Kate Walsh is. What? They just got married last year. Calm down.
I know this is a gigantic name. Very upsetting for Ashley. Yeah. Let me Google. Yeah, Kate Walsh, private practice. She's got a private practice. What is she, orthodontist, or what does she do? No, Mike, on TV. Yeah, she was originally on Grey's Anatomy, and then Grey's Anatomy was so successful they wanted to do a spinoff, so they made her basically the star of the Grey's Anatomy spinoff, which is private practice. He's a big guy up in the freaking, you know. Wow. That is some good information. Speak English. He just filled us all in. Here's her and her husband. He's a big rig on the channel that Private Practice is on. ABC? Yes. People are going to want to stick everywhere. He is a film executive. His name is Alex Young. Is he big? They married in September of 2007. So just over a year ago, they married after only dating for a few months. Really? And it didn't work? Yeah. So actually, the husband was the one who filed the divorce paper citing irreconcilable differences. Wow. That's not good. Yeah.
Very fast. Yeah, crazy kids. We have to take a quick timeout. However, when we come back, hang on a second there, T.O. When we come back, we got some more stuff, buddy. We're going to do some cool stuff. We are live out here at the Las Vegas desert in the middle of one of the coolest, coolest casinos I've ever been in my life, if not the coolest. So before we went to break, I said that we were going to find out what the latest is with the whole Illinois governor thing and what's going on with that. Yeah. Well, so the governor of Illinois, you know, we've been talking about this all week, was arrested on federal conspiracy charges because, you know, Barack Obama was a senator there in Illinois and, you know, is now going to be our president. So that Senate seat is open and it's up to the governor to fill it. So allegedly the governor was going around trying to basically sell this seat to the highest bidder. Some of the people who are, you know, linked to this story are Jesse Jackson Jr. Oh, wow. One of the people who, you know. Can I get an amen? Can I get a Senate seat? Yes. Yeah, so Obama this week called for the governor's resignation, and Obama, of course, trying to distance himself from this, saying, hey, bro, I had nothing to do with this. This wasn't my thing. Even though they're boys. No, they work together. That doesn't make them boys. They're boys. No, they were good friends, college roommates. No one said that.
men at each other's weddings. That is not true. They were nothing more than colleagues if that. Thank you, Sean. Oh, really? Yes, really? Oh, really? You got that from research or something? He called Barack personally. He did. Obama has called for his resignation, but the governor says, no, we're good. You're the biggest idiot I've ever met. You're a sheep. You're a prince idiot. Whatever. You do not win. That is a trip. That was strange. That is weird. What the heck? In Vegas? Hello? Hello, can you hear me? Is this President-elect Barack Obama? This is Barack Obama, yes. Wow, Barack, we were just praising you. Eddie, shut up. Well, some of us were. What's up, Brock? Yeah, I'm actually calling because I heard you talking about the Illinois governor. Yeah, that is true. It was a big scandal. Yeah, I thought it would be very unfair. A lot of people think that the governor was selling seats, and that's not actually the case. Oh, what's going on? Well, it's certainly not the way that you're supposed to do it. What you're supposed to do is holding off.
I think basically the deal here is, guys, that he got caught because he was trying to sell the seat on eBay, which isn't smart. Yeah. Yeah. Username president-elect. Right. That is actually my username. Get the FBI on that. How did he know what my username was? I knew it. Oh, no. Well, there's only one president-elect. Just so you guys know, I am considering putting up a Senate seat for U.S. Treasury on eBay, but Mr. Joe Biden had a few people he had in mind instead, so I don't know if we could do that. Yeah, you can't do that. Yeah, that's not how our system works. I also wanted to let the people of the United States of America know that operations... smiles is in full effect. What is that? What is that? Raising smiles? Yeah. That is my plan to wage war against unhappy people and people who frown a lot. I support that. That is ridiculous. That is a good plan. Well, I actually promised to change my presidency, and I also promised to put a smile on every American's face because I'm just...
Like everyone else, me and Michelle. Oh, no. That's sweet. That's why I voted for you, Brock. I don't believe that. You know, I'm very bothered by the accusations that are being made against the governor of Illinois, and you people are sort of condoning that he did that. That's not true. He didn't do it at all. He was actually selling Illinois Avenue on Monopoly, which... Wait, no. I don't think that's what it was. I believe in it. No, no, no. If Obama says it, it's true. Oh, right. The truth is I've played a few games of Monopoly myself. The truth is I actually bought Oriental Avenue, and it almost cost me the election because it should have been Asian Avenue to be politically good. They do need to change that. Hey, listen, since I have you guys here on the phone, I thought I might talk to you guys. Careful now.
Anybody want to buy the Secretary of the Chicago Bulls? Oh, wow. I didn't know. What are we talking? Well, we're talking a high amount. Michael Jordan is the current high-risk bidder. That's weird. I don't understand that. This is President-elect Barack Obama. Can I ask you guys a question? Yes, you're the best. Go ahead. Do you guys think that this stuff with the Illinois governor is an embarrassment to democracy? Yes. Absolutely. You know, when you think about it, I think that paying for a Senate seat in this economy is absolutely out of control. In fact, I got my Senate seat for a pair of Janet Jackson tickets and a sizzle or two for one dinner. Those are the best. Sounds like a deal. Wow. Guys. Oh, just saying. Can you believe? Can you believe? You guys, that Jesse Jackson Jr. is said to be involved in all of this? It is shocking, Bob. Now, just so I have it straight, I just want to make sure that I know who we're talking about here. This was the one on the Jackson 5 who jacked up his face since he's white, right? No, no, no. You're thinking of... That's Michael. No, you're right. Okay. You know, the thing here about this whole scandal here is that Bybury is so...
Absolutely. I emailed the man, and I suggested to him before he did all this stuff that just get this thing over with a game of Guitar Hero and do a Guitar Hero tournament. Oh, wait. That's not going to work. Have the winner take the seat. All that's going on. Yeah, yeah. Well, then I want in. Hey, guys, I hope you have fun there at the Palms. I hope you guys have a good time. I actually have to go gun a cigarette. Before Michelle gets home. Whoa, hey. Come on. That's filthy. That's filthy. Yeah.
Plus, I might smoke some weed. So I'll see you later. Wow. That is on the record. That is on the record. I knew I voted for the right guy. That is unbelievable. Oh, Mike's back. Oh, Mike's back. Sorry, I was in a bathroom break, guys. Get back on. Get back on, Mike. Yeah, Mike, we're all here. And you just missed Barack Obama. Yeah, Mike, you missed Barack calling in. Shucks. Yeah, he's so beautiful. Oh, shh. Shucks. Maybe next time you'll catch him. Hey, did you guys know that McCain was on David Letterman? McCain? He's still alive? Oh, Skye. Skye. Too soon. I'm sorry. He is the Crypt Keeper. Come on. That was wonderful. You won. Here is what he had to say. Here's what he had to say about the governor of Illinois. Skye, who is that? Rod. Oh, there you go. Rod. Here's what he said about Governor Bagovic. Is that what it is? Bagovic? Bagovic. Bagovic. Back up a little bit. Cut 14. Do you know this guy, the governor of Illinois? I came to my office one time after he was elected governor at his request and told me he's going to be a great reformer. Really? Is that right? I'm not making it up. Window open?
That he wanted to do like I had done in the Senate and have all these reforms. I really must have impressed the guy. But now, John, in your experience, and this is what everybody is saying, the guy is either stupid or he's nuts. What do you think? I think a rare combination of both. Is the tea ready? We're heating up water. I think it's tea time. You know, McCain would have done himself so many favors if he was just cool and normal and conversational like that during the election. Okay, you are absolutely out of line. Guy, the election is over. You won. You won. You won. You won. I'm just saying. I'm just saying. She's right. I prefer to kick people when they're down. I'm just saying. It's much easier. It's the only joy I really get in the election. I'm just saying McCain was like a cool guy to talk to before the election. You know what would have been great is if those Vietnamese had finished the job. What do you think, fellas? Come on. I'm just saying if he would have been himself. No, you guys, he's old. He's not passed on. He hasn't passed on. I thought he was dead and buried. You know what would have been great, Mike? I thought it was a compliment. If he would have been black.
That's right. Yeah. Not denying that. All right. Wow. I thought it was a compliment. You thought it was a compliment? Like that he's really, like, a cool guy. You got a warp tape, sister. You know? He should have stuck to his guns and been himself. You are the greatest. You are something else, lady. Eddie gets it. You should honor the dead, Skye. You should honor the dead. He's not. Maybe rest your peace. What? My bad. My bad. You could have sworn I heard him spinning in his grave. All right. 2012, baby. You'll see. Sky, tell us about. Oh, by the way. By the way, our phone lines. You can call us out here in Vegas. 570-1053. Our phone lines are working. We can take calls. And you can also text us at 35253. Even though Rob hasn't told me about a text for an hour and a half. But hey, listen. Still working on it. When we come back. Chords, Mike, chords. Yeah, Mike, there's a lot of chords here. Poor Zeth doesn't even have a microphone. He's drinking McDonald's coffee and just watching the show. How are we doing, Zeth? Everything cool, Zeth? You guys are doing a great job. Oh, great. Get a thumbs up from Zeth. Give me some of my swinging Vegas music. Give me some of that Vegas stuff. Swing me one time. When we come back, when we come back right here in The Lounge. The Lounge. The Lounge. All right.
Go ahead, Sky. You go now. Right here at the Palms. When we come back, we are going to be telling you about, oh, I don't know, these Dark Knight DVD sales. How those things do. Oh, yeah. I got mine. Yeah. We'll give you some figures on that when we come back. And, yeah, don't go anywhere. We're going to be doing Ask the Oracle in just a bit, too. But we'd love to take your phone calls right now. We can take them. 570-1053. Talk to us live here at the Lounge in the Palms in Las Vegas. It's a Mikey show. We'll be back. There it is. Wow. There it is. I know it. That guy's great. He threw a couple of interceptions, you said? No, he did great. You did? Yeah. 570-1053 is our phone number. If you want to give us a call, 570-1053. And our text number is 35253. So if you want to, you can text us as well. We are broadcasting live from the Palms Resort and Casino. And I got to tell you, man. Like we've stayed at different places and there's been times where we stay at different places and I may even like it.
But I'm thinking to myself, you know, I like it and everything, but I don't know if I would stay there necessarily. I would be back at this place in a heartbeat. Oh, definitely. Because it's the best. It's pretty awesome. Yeah. Yes. I thought we were going to be friends. The only thing better would be is if the roulette tables had a spit on them where a pork was roasted. What? Oh, really, Mike? That's the only thing. Saturday night, I don't know how many to do.
That sounds like fun. This guy, she's a barbarian. I love it.
We gotta believe her! So, we're gonna be watching it. Yep. We're gonna be watching it. Even... You guys know this, by the way? Did you guys... All P1s listening right now? Even Sky. Yep. I know it. Yeah. Yeah! I may bring my book. I'm not lying. I may bring my book. Well, just in case... You're reading your book? Well, it may get too intense. I may need something to distract me. You are ridiculous. Do they serve cocktails in there? Of course. Are you still reading those Nora Roberts porno books? No, I've taken a break and I've moved on to a little Stephen King. Which is different than Nora Roberts, I'm finding out. 570. Just a little bit different. Same genre. That's freaking you out, too. Like, that's giving you nightmares. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Between the two, I would just get, like, Finding Nemo. If that comes in book form. If that comes in book form. That's a good idea. 570-1053 is our phone number. You can call us out here if you would like to. 570-1053. Text us at 35253. P1 Chargerette is on the line. What's up, Chargerette?
Hey, guys. Just wanted to say I love you. And was thinking about henna tattoo for the back of Rob's head? Oh, that's cute. That would definitely say. That is cute. That is adorable. Spray paint, or putting a little Henna NY, some Yankees action in Henna. Oh, yeah, Mike. That would be so great. Oh, whatever. Fine, I'll do it. I don't care. Fine. Whatever. Yeah, I don't care. Henna, great. Are you going to pay me for that, too? Yeah. How much per Henna? 5701053 is a phone number. We would love to talk to you. Call us and talk to us live while we're in Las Vegas. What about Moon Club? It's another exclusive nightclub here. Going there tonight. Are you? On the list. Are you going to dance the night away? Well, I think Moon is kind of more like a lounge from my understanding.
Let's see. What do we got going on in... The news. The news. Not his name.
Full right now. Yeah, he's still a Padre. Welcome back. That's not awkward. That's so weird. Yeah, exactly. That's so awkward. That's brutal. Can you imagine how weird that's going to be playing? I don't know.
I know. Oh, my goodness. You know, I honestly. Some irony up in here. That's right. I got to think the Padres are shocked right now. Yeah. Because their one offseason goal was to trade Peavy and get a bunch of hot prospects. Right. And they weren't able to get it done. And what's kind of shocking to me is, you know, Peavy, you know, he's one of the best pitchers in the lead, if not the best pitcher.
So... There is a McDonald's inside of this casino man dude, there's a food court. I know it So I was over there right now getting some coffee and I turn around I'm like Is that a movie theater?
Cut 30. I represent a group of civilizations. Are you kidding me? Before you were human. It would only frighten you. Why have you come to our planet? Your planet. Yes, this is our planet. Riveting. Oscar material. And the Oscar goes to Keanu Reeves, The Day the Earth Stood Still. Oh, Keanu. Thank you so much. I have so many people to thank. My dialect coach. Yes, you got Alien really well. You did it really good. Thanks, bro. You nailed it.
So anyway, I think I still might see it. Really? I'm serious. Why? Of course. I'm serious, man. That's awesome, dude. Let's see. Okay. Quick timeout and your phone calls. Line them up. Line up the phone lines. 5-7-UP. 5-7-UP. Yep. It's my favorite. Heads up, 7-UP. 5-7-UP, 105-3. Give us a call right now. Get all lined up on the request lines. And we are live from the... Coolest hotel and resort and casino I think I've ever been at. Ever. The Palms is the bombs. How do you like that? You like that? The Palms is the bombs. And by the way, they still have good rates on the room, so if you wanted to even come down here, stay with us. There's P1s that are waking up and kind of trickling in here, and so it'd be awesome, man. I mean, this place is cool. We take a quick time out.
Back to Miller Lite's Mikey Show live broadcast from the Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas.
She's 29 years old, and I guess she was hit by a car when she stepped off a curb in L.A. on Tuesday. She was taken to UCLA Medical Center and then, unfortunately, ended up dying of her injuries. Yep. And it's got, Sky, I have no idea what those big white...
thingies are that are over there that are coming up? What would you call those things? Oh, gosh. I don't know. It's not a lamp. Well, it kind of is. It's like a... Hanging lamp. Well, they're not hanging. It's like a floor lamp that's really tall and... It's a very, very, very tall... Oh, the mesh lamps. Yes. You know what it looks like? It looks like that sort of piping material that... you vacuum, that your vacuum hose is made out of. I actually have lamps like that in my house. They're so cool. Looks like them oriental lamps, Mike. Yeah. That didn't sound right. That sounded bad. They're so cool. This room is cool. Everything about this place is just very hip. And you know, last night when we were checking into this place, I was actually thinking to myself, like, what? Must go into designing in this oh, man, you know because you don't you don't just like I this I know for sure in order for a Casino to be successful Everything has to be right. You know the vibe has to be right
The tables have to look a certain way. The floor. Every single thing that you see is designed. From the way the lights look in the place. From the way the tables are laid out and structured. What kind of food you have there. What kind of performers you have come in. What the people are dressed like when you walk up to the desk to check in. Every single part about it. And the one thing that I tripped out on when we came here is. this is slick man like every single thing from the time you walk in to the time you check in to where you're walking what you're looking at everything is slick well the the owners are the maloof brothers you know yeah and they are slick guys yeah and so george maloof who's one of the owners he's kind of like the the face of the brothers is gonna stop by and say hi to us today Dude, I got questions, man. Yeah, man. So he'll probably tell you how they designed everything and all those stuff. He owns the Sacramento Kings.
These guys are legit. What sport is that? Basketball. A P1 maiden. What did you do? Mike, another cool thing is that you might not even notice this unless they tell you about it, but look up when you're out on the casino floor and the ceiling fans, they're not your average, like, you know, four foot radius or whatever. They're like 30 feet. Oh, my gosh. Oh, really? like propellers yeah right that's a trip trip i want those in my house hey uh the guy that was just calling in right now he wanted to ask and see if we have any info because all he said it said heard blurb about kaylee's body and this is that florida story oh yeah the little girl in florida i guess there's something going on Yeah, well, utility workers were working in an area by, well, let's go back. Okay, so Kaylee Anthony is this little girl in Florida who went missing in June. Her mom, Casey Anthony, is 22 years old. And from the beginning of the daughter going missing, the whole thing was just shady. Like the mom didn't report her missing for about a month and then said she was with a babysitter and that person like didn't really exist or something. And then, you know, they did a search of her car.
The cadaver dogs picked up weird scents in the car. The whole thing was just shady and creepy. And they found a bag that had like... a skull and bones and stuff in it. Are you kidding? Yeah, so the police came out and immediately, you know...
closed off the area and have taken all the remains and are going to do testing to try and find out if they are, you know, Kaylee's remains. And they also, I guess, have, you know, gotten a warrant for the grandparents' house because they don't know if maybe something had gone down there. And so they've closed that off. They've gotten a warrant and they're going to be, I believe, searching that today. Now, wasn't the focus of the investigation was kind of on her mom, right? Kaylee's mom? Yeah, definitely the mom. And, you know, kind of sounds like that the mom was, you know, kind of troubled. You know, a young mom, you know, 22 years old, kind of sounds like she was, you know, hanging out with the rough crowd, doing some weird stuff. And the grandparents seemed like they were really the rock in their granddaughter's life. They were the ones who, you know, so, you know, who knows? We could all speculate why that location, what went on. But it's kind of hard for me to believe at this point that the grandparents were actually involved, you know, because they seem like the do-gooders. in this whole story. So we'll keep you updated on that. Wow. And I read in the USA Today right now also that they did like they were searching different police departments to find out if there were any other missing kids around that age in that area and they said no. Yeah. Let's see. Kate Walsh's husband filed for divorce. I don't know who Kate Walsh is. What? They just got married last year. Calm down.
I know this is a gigantic game. Very upsetting for Ashley. Yeah. Let me Google. Yeah, Kate Walsh, private practice. She's got a private practice. What is she, an orthodontist? No, Mike, on TV. Yeah, she was originally on Grey's Anatomy, and then Grey's Anatomy was so successful they wanted to do a spinoff, so they made her basically the star of the Grey's Anatomy spinoff, which is private practice. He's a big guy up in the freaking, you know. Wow. That is some good information. Speak English. Just fill this all in. Here's her and her husband. He's a big rig on the channel that Private Practice is on. ABC? Yes. He is a film executive. His name is Alex Young. They married in September of 2007. So just over a year ago, they married after only dating for a few months. Really? And it didn't work? Yeah. So actually, the husband was the one who filed the divorce paper citing irreconcilable differences. Wow. That's not good. Yeah. Very fast. Crazy kids. We have to take a quick timeout. However, when we come back, hang on a second there, T.O.

Great taste. Less filling.
Welcome back to the Palms Casino and Resort here in Las Vegas. Hey, the P1s that are here, make some noise, will you? Let me tell you something, man. These are P1s that made the trip to Las Vegas from San Diego on their own. They just decided that they wanted to come on their own and just come and hang out and be a part of the festivities. It's 820. More than 200 people showed up to a community forum last night about Monday night's jet crash. The Phillies have agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with free agent outfielder Raul Ibanez. Let me tell you something. This has been already an amazing experience. I really didn't know what to expect coming here to the Palms. I really didn't know what to expect. I'm telling you, there was no shortage of the word wow. Right. I probably said the word wow about 100 times walking into this place. Very cool. And you guys have seen those deals before, either in magazines or on TV, where they talk about fascinating people. And they say, we got the top 10 most fascinating people or whatever. George Maloof should be on every one of those. Done.
And I mean, because when I George is with us right now. So let's hear it for George Maloof, who he owns the joint. Well, let me tell you a lot of caffeine. She's had a lot of caffeine. We apologize. But let me tell you, George, I got really, really excited that I was going to be interviewing you because I thought this is kind of a rare opportunity to be able to talk to somebody who has done what you've done. Because especially in this day and age, it's probably kind of hard to put something this beautiful and this extravagant and decadent and opulent and fill in your own adjective here. I mean, it is absolutely beautiful, this casino. I mean, it's just gorgeous. Thank you. And so to be able to do what you've done is amazing. Let me tell you a little bit about George Maloof. The Palms is a 430-room resort. It was built in 2001. $265 million in family money. Is that correct? Yeah. Basically, the family, because this is a family deal. It's not just George. It's also Gavin Maloof, Joe Maloof, Phil Maloof, and your sister, Adrienne Maloof, as well, right? Wow.
George also owns the Sacramento Kings and the Sacramento Monarchs, and now the Palms. And so, George, how did this idea come to you guys? Well, I actually went to school here in Las Vegas, college in the mid-'80s. UNLV. I went to UNLV. Right. And while I was here, I thought it would be a great idea to open a casino at some point. And just lived in Las Vegas and really understood the value of a casino that was not on the strip. Yeah. And why? Why? Well, because I knew there was a market here for local people that lived here and gambled. Right. And so I kind of understood that and people's expectations. Right. So when I got out of college. Talk my family into buying a piece of land in North Las Vegas, which is about 10 miles from here right to open a place called the fiesta right open in 1994 So the fiesta was actually the first casino property That we had here in Las Vegas, okay, and then we built the palms in 2001 So that one was successful the fiesta was successful you did well with it and and for those of you that don't know The palms is just off the strip right we're just right. We're just west of the strip one mile
So we really have the best of both worlds. And you have managed to make this into a gigantic thing being off the Strip. How did you do that? Well, we have a great location. The proximity to the Strip, the fact that we're not on the Strip. So a lot of people like it because they can still get to everything they need to get. Can't miss it. We actually just finished building our third tower called Palm's Place. Wow. I want to ask you about that, about the Palm's Place. Is that right? Right. It's a condominium hotel. Wow. Which is just a trip. So you can be part owner. Right. That is huge, dude. That is cool. So George, this is the thing. Like, you know, my wife and I, we walk into our room last night and I was like, wow, this is beautiful. This is beautiful. You can have a place where you're actually living and you're getting a view and the whole thing kind of like what we're doing now. Yeah. How did you get the idea to do that? Well, a lot of people wanted to be part of the Palms experience. Right. So this was a way for them to take advantage of that. And, you know, being off the strip, you know, we have great views and just lots. The Palms is a true destination. And the brand works real well with, you know, a younger demographic. And then we have a great local demographic that comes here every single day. Okay. And I have just, I just got a note. There is.
Between three towers for the Palms, there is 1,300 rooms. Wow. Yes. When I think it was first built. Yeah, the first tower. When it was first built, there was 430. Right. Now there's 1,300? Right. That's amazing. That means it's blowing up. That is awesome. That's funny. Thank you. So, you know, this is one of the things that I was saying earlier. I said, you know, when we walked in last night, I said pretty much from everything from the moment that you walk in. you're going, wow, wow, wow, this is cool, this is cool. It's all an experience. It is. Thank you. So I'm standing at the front desk, and I'm thinking to myself, how does somebody do this? How does somebody put something like this together? Because it's so, the way that it's laid out is so, there's no other word for it. Extravagant. It's done right. Thank you. And so UNLV, where you went to school, they must be saying, By the way, George Maloof went here. You know, in terms of the hotel management at UNLV, they must be saying, hey, just so you guys know, you're sitting in here in these classes. George Maloof, you know, the poems. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, have you ever gone back to UNLV and kind of gone, hey, guys, I did this too. This works.
Yeah, I've spoken a few classes over the years. So it's pretty cool. And I'm a big supporter of UNLV. I wish I could go to more of their basketball games because they have a good team this year. But yeah, I'm a huge supporter. And how did the things with the Kings, how did you acquire the Sacramento Kings? How did that come about? Well, we always wanted to get involved in an NBA team, my family, which we were. My father died in 1980. And we actually owned the Houston Rockets. My father did. Really? And then when he died, we sold the team about a year later. And we always wanted to get back into the league. So it was just a matter of timing. It took a while for us to purchase an NBA team, which we bought in 1997. So we've been in the league. This is our 12th season. How about that Mark Cuban? He's a crackpot, isn't he? I got a question for you. I got a question for you. I can build a house and I can say about that house, well, I can have somebody come over and take a look at the house that I built and they can describe it in any ways that they want. But really, if I'm the guy that built that sucker, let me tell you about it. And so I want to hear in your own words, if you were describing to somebody that's never experienced the Palms before, what is it like?
Tell me what you want people to experience when they come to the Palms. Well, I think it's got its own identity, first of all. It's right in the heart of Las Vegas, right on Flamingo Road. Flamingo kind of separates the whole strip. And it's spectacular architecture. True destination. So there's all kinds of things to do from going to the movies. We have a movie theater, an IMAX. They got IMAX. It's great restaurants. You made Mikey's day. Dude. That's amazing. Our restaurants are phenomenal. Yeah. You got Kerry Simon. He was a big celebrity chef. Doesn't he have a restaurant here? Kerry's got a restaurant here. We have great clubs. There's always something to do here. The Pearl, which we just opened, which is a concert venue. We actually have a UFC fight tomorrow night. Oh, yeah. We'll be there. Come on, George. As you know. What about New Year's Eve? What are you doing New Year's Eve? You got anybody coming through here on New Year's Eve?
The Palms will be, as we are every year, New Year's Eve Central. Right. This year we have Kid Rock. Oh, my God. Nice. Awesome. That's sweet. Paul can fold his plane and rain. Oh, wow. Really? Oh, my God. That's exclusive. And then, of course, Ghost Bar, which has the most incredible views of the strip. So we're having a property-wide party. Now, here's my question, too. In the movie Casino. Robert De Niro knew he was a guy that ran the place. He wanted to know that this was folded this way, that there were this many chips, blueberries in the blueberry muffins. He wanted to know, you know, are you a guy that kind of since this is your place? that you want to know that everything is kind of be taken care of in this way and just right and doing it. You know what I mean? Uh, yeah, you can get compulsive about it without a question. Yeah, absolutely. And you want to make sure, so you want to make sure that everything is just so. Right. Oh yeah. You ever, you care about it. Do you ever just every once in a while say, Hey, put me in this room. I just want to go see if everything's right and go stay in a room. That's what I would do. I would just want to stay in a place just to see what it's like, you know, experience it. Cause this.
I'm telling you, this place is amazing, man. Thank you. It's an amazing place. I mean, and I don't usually sleep well if I'm outside of my house. I slept like a baby. My bed is delish. It's pretty awesome. So soft. You guys are so nice. That's right. That's right. We appreciate you inviting us here, man. This is great. George Maloof. Special. George Maloof is the owner of the Palms Casino where we're staying. It really is an amazing place. And you have also, this is an interesting fact. George has appeared in a series of Carl's Jr. commercials. Tell us about that, George. Oh, we did. It was great. Carl's Jr., which is my favorite fast food restaurant. Those fried zucchinis. Yeah. She loves it. We had a great opportunity, my brothers and me, to do a commercial two years ago. And it was shot here at the Palms. And it was about the $6 burger. And in a little different way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bottle of French Bordeaux wine. Right.
That really was worth about $599. Dude. We had the $6 burger as part of the package, so it was a lot of fun. It was pretty cool, man. They're like sitting around, and it's you and the bros, right? That's cool, man. That's cool. Well, listen, George, like Eddie said, thank you for letting us be your guest here. This really is a beautiful place and a fun place. Big round of applause from our P1s that are hanging out here with us right now. And for those folks, if you're listening to your car right now and you're in San Diego and you're going to be taking a trip to Las Vegas, there's no other place. This is where I'll be every time now. New Year's, hello, please. KidRock.com. Reservations now. Well, thank you very much. We appreciate it, George. We got to take a timeout. We have UFC fighters that are going to be stopping by because UFC fight tomorrow night. I'll find my breakout in here. This is awesome. They're everywhere. That's right. They're all over the place. We'll be talking to some of them. And we got a lot more to come here from Las Vegas. When we get back, I want to tell you, a lot of people don't even know this.
There's a big rumor on who's going to be on the next Dancing with the Stars. This is kind of weird. I don't know if this is even true. We'll tell you about it when we come back. Don't go anywhere. It's a Mikey show live from Vegas. Adderall medicine, all right? Right now you're at a 10. We need you at a 2. Jeez. I'm a nutbag. Maybe. Can I get an amen? Can I get a Senate seat? Yes. Yeah, so Obama this week called for the governor's resignation. And, you know, Obama, of course, trying to distance himself from this, saying, hey, bro, you know, I had nothing to do with this. This wasn't my thing. Even though they're boys. No, they work together. That doesn't make them boys. They're boys. You know, they were good friends, college roommates.
Wow, Barack. We were just praising you. Shut up. Well, some of us were. What's up, Brock? Yeah, I'm actually calling because I heard you talking about the Illinois governor. Yeah, that is true. Big scandal. Yeah, I thought it would be very unfair. A lot of people think that the governor was selling seats, and that's not actually the case. Oh, what's going on? Well, it's certainly not the way that you're supposed to do it. What you're supposed to do is hold an auction and invite the masses.
No, that is not what I think you're misinformed. I think basically the deal here is, guys, that he got caught because he was trying to sell the seat on eBay, which isn't smart. Yeah. Username president-elect. That is actually my username. Get the FBI on that. How did he know what my username was? I knew it. There's only one president-elect. Just so you guys know, I am considering putting up a Senate seat for U.S. Treasury on eBay, but Mr. Joe Biden had a few people he had in mind instead, so I don't know if we could do that. Yeah, you can't do that. Yeah, that's not how our system works. I wanted to let the people of the United States of America know that Operation Smiles is in full effect. What is that? Operation Smiles? Yeah, yeah.
That is my plan to wage war against unhappy people and people who frown a lot. I support that. This is ridiculous. That is a good plan. Well, I actually promised to change my presidency, and I also promised to put a smile on every American's face because I'm just like everyone else. Me and Michelle are just like... No. That's sweet. That's why I voted for you, Brock. I don't believe that. You know, I'm very bothered by the accusations that are being made against the governor of Illinois, and you people are sort of condoning that he did that. That's not true. He didn't do it at all. He was actually selling Illinois Avenue on Monopoly. Wait, no. I don't think that's what it was. No, no, no. If Obama says it, it's true. Oh, right. Well, the truth is, I've played a few games of Monopoly myself. Is that right, Obama? The truth is I actually bought Oriental Avenue, and it almost cost me the election because it should have been Asian Avenue to be politically good. They do need to change that. Hey, listen, since I have you guys here on the phone, I thought I might talk to you guys about something. I actually have a seat on my cabinet for sale right now. For sale? Careful now.
Anybody want to buy the Secretary of the Chicago Bulls? Oh, wow. I didn't know. What are we talking? Well, we're talking a high amount. Michael Jordan is the current high-risk bidder. That's weird. I don't understand that. I think he's with the Wizards. Can you believe, you guys, that Jesse Jackson Jr. is said to be involved in all of this? It is shocking, Bob. Yeah, it's nuts. Now, just so I have it straight, I just want to make sure that I know who we're talking about here. This was the one on the Jackson 5 who jacked up his face and thinks he's white, right? No, no, no. You're thinking of... That's Michael. No, you're right. Okay. The thing here about this whole scandal here...
is that bribery is so... I emailed the man, and I suggested to him before he did all this stuff to get this thing solved with a game of guitar. Guitar Hero Tournament. Oh, wait. That's not going to work. What's going on? Yeah, yeah. Well, then I want in. Hey, guys, I have fun there. You guys have a good time. I have to go gun a cigarette. Before Michelle gets home. Whoa, hey, Brock. Come on. That's filthy. That's filthy, Brock. Plus, I might smoke some weed. So I'll see you later. Wow. That is on the record. That is on the record. I knew I voted for the right guy. That is unbelievable.
Oh, Mike's back. Oh, Mike's back. Sorry, I was in a bathroom break, guys. Go back on. Go back on, Mike. And you just missed Barack Obama. Yeah, Mike, you missed Barack calling in. Shucks. Yeah, he's so beautiful. Oh, sh- Shucks. Maybe next time you'll catch him. Hey, did you guys know that McCain was on David Letterman? McCain? He's still alive? Oh, Skye! Too soon! I'm sorry, he is the Crypt Keeper, but that's wonderful. Here is what he had to say. Here's what he had to say about the governor of Illinois. Who is that? Rod. Oh, there you go. Rod. Here's what he said about Governor Bagovic. Is that what it is? Bagovic? Bagovic. Bagovic. Back up a little bit. Cut 14. Do you know this guy, the governor of Illinois? I came to my office one time after he was elected governor at his request and told me.
He's going to be a great reformer. Heating up water? I think it's tea time. You know, McCain would have done himself so many favors if he was just cool and normal and conversational like that during the election. Okay, you are absolutely out of line, Michigan. Guy, the election is over. You won. You won. You won. You won. I'm just saying. I'm just saying. For once, she's right. I prefer to kick people when they're down. Yes. I'm just saying. It's much easier. It's the only joy I really get in the election. I'm just saying McCain was like a cool guy to talk to before the election. You know what would have been great is if those Vietnamese had finished the job. What do you think fellas? Come on. I'm just saying if he would have been himself. No you guys he's old. He's not passed on. He hasn't passed on. I thought he was dead and buried. You know what would have been great Mike? If he would have been black.
That's right. Yeah. All right. Wow. I thought it was a compliment. You thought it was a compliment. Like that he's really like a cool guy. You got a warp tape, sister. You know? He should have stuck to his guns and been herself. You are the greatest. You are something else, lady. Eddie gets it. You should honor the dead, Skye. You should honor the dead. He's not. May he rest in peace. I could have sworn I heard him spinning in his grave. All right. No! 2012, baby.
The Lounge. All right. Go ahead, Scott. You go now. Right here at The Palms. When we come back, we are going to be telling you about... Oh, I don't know, these Dark Knight DVD sales. How are those things doing? Oh, yeah, I got mine. Yeah, we'll give you some figures on that when we come back. And, yeah, don't go anywhere. We're going to be doing Ask the Oracle in just a bit, too. But we'd love to take your phone calls right now. We can take them, 570-1053.
And I got to tell you, man, we've stayed at different places. Oh, yeah. And there's been times where we stay at different places and I may even like it. But I'm thinking to myself, you know, I like it and everything, but I don't know if I would stay there necessarily. I would be back at this place in a heartbeat. Oh, definitely. Because it's the best. It's pretty awesome. Yeah. Yes.
I thought we were going to be friends. The only thing better would be is if the roulette tables had a spit on them where a pork was roasted. What? Oh, really, Mike? That's the only thing better. Oh, you're so funny. That would be weird. Maloof, get on that. Please. Money, money, money. So I'm looking at some of the stuff that they have here, and some of the stuff that they have you've probably already heard about or seen on TV. When my mom has heard... of Ghost Bar. Oh, wow. That is awesome. Saturday night, I don't know how many to do. It's 10 o'clock. Very exclusive. You know, it's one of those kind of deals. It's just kind of fun to experience, and it's a pretty awesome thing. It's on the 51st floor, 55th floor, 55 floors up. Incredible view of Vegas.
It's the best. Oh, that sounds like fun. It is. It does sound like fun. It's one of the indoor-outdoor things, so they make the outside of it as comfortable with couches and all that kind of deal as the inside. It kind of freaks you out a little bit, because I'm not great with heights, and I walk out there and I'm like, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Pretty awesome. But it's cool, man. It's cool to check out Vegas and all that stuff. There's also a room called... The Pearl. Is that where we're going to be seeing? The Pearl is where the fights are. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we're going to see the fights. That's their little arena. It's pretty cool. It's a theater, and it holds up to 2,500 people. What's really going to be cool is how intimate it's going to be. Thank you. Because, you know, we've seen UFC before, but in big, giant arenas. This is going to be kind of a small venue. You'll be able to smell the blood. Oh, wow. Ashley. Wow, look at her. She's a barbarian. Skye, she's a barbarian. I love it. So we're going to be watching it. Yep. We're going to be watching it. Even you guys know this, by the way. Did you guys all P1s listening right now? Even sky. Yep. I know it. Yeah. I may bring my book. I may bring my book. Well, just in case your book.
And was thinking about a henna tattoo for the back of Rob's head. Oh, that's cute. That would definitely fit. That is cute. That is adorable.
Spray paint, or putting a little Henna NY, some Yankees action in Henna. Oh, yeah, Mike. That would be so great. Oh, whatever. Fine, I'll do it. I don't care. Fine, whatever. Yeah, I don't care. Yeah! That was my plan. I've been to Rain. Rain is awesome. Yeah. I'm really excited to check out both places tonight. Let's see. What do we got going on in...
The news. The news. Not his name. Oh, wow. A little harsh.
Full right now. Yeah, he's still a Padre. Welcome back. That's not awkward. That's so weird. Yeah, exactly. That's so awkward. That's brutal. Can you imagine how weird that's going to be playing? I know.
She also went on Letterman and basically said, well, Mike said that this stalker woman who had killed herself out in front of Paula Abdul's house, that the producers from American Idol knew that she was a stalker, knew she was a crazy woman, but still put her. her on the show for entertainment value, put her on American Idol.
There is a McDonald's inside of this casino man, dude, there's a food court. I know it. So I was over there right now getting some coffee and I turn around. I'm like Is that a movie theater? Before you were human, why have you come to our planet? Your planet. Yes, this is our planet. No, it is not. Riveting.
material. Oscar material. And the Oscar goes to Keanu Reeves, The Day the Earth Stood Still. Oh, Keanu. Thank you so much. I have so many people to thank. My dialect coach. Yes. You got Alien really well. You did it really good. Thanks, bro. You nailed it. Wow. So anyway, I still, I think I still might see it. Really? I'm serious. I'm serious, man. That's awesome, dude. Let's see. Okay. Quick timeout and your phone calls. Line them up. Line up the phone lines. 5-7-UP. 5-7-UP. Yep. It's my favorite. Heads up, 7-UP. 5-7-UP-1053. Give us a call right now. Get all lined up on the request lines. And we are live from the coolest hotel and resort and casino I think I've ever been at. Ever.
The palms is the bones. How do you like that? You like that? You like that? The palms is the bones. And by the way, you know, they still have good rates on the room. So if you wanted to even come down here, stay with us. There's P1s that are waking up and kind of trickling in here. And so it'd be awesome, man. I mean, this place is cool. We take a quick time out. And when we come back, we got all kinds of cool stuff that I got to be telling you about. Not to be overwhelmed by all the pretty blinking lights and sounds. Back to Miller Lite's Mikey Show live broadcast from the Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas.
She's 29 years old, and I guess she was hit by a car when she stepped off a curb in L.A. on Tuesday. She was taken to UCLA Medical Center and then, unfortunately, ended up dying of her injuries.
It's like a... Hanging lamp. Well, they're not hanging. It's like a floor lamp that's really tall and... It's a very, very, very tall... Oh, the mesh lamp. Yes. Like, you know what it looks like? It looks like that sort of piping material that... you vacuum, that your vacuum hose is made out of. I actually have lamps like that in my house. They're so cool. Looks like them oriental lamps, Mike. Yeah. Nope. That didn't sound right. That sounded bad. They're so cool. This room is cool. Everything about this place is just very hip. And you know, last night when we were checking into this place, I was actually thinking to myself like, what?
must go into designing this. Oh, man. You know, because you don't you don't just like this. I know for sure. In order for a casino to be successful, everything has to be right. You know, the vibe has to be right. And the one thing that I tripped out on when we came here is. this is slick man like every single thing from the time you walk in to the time you check in to where you're walking what you're looking at everything is slick well the the owners are the maloof brothers you know yeah and they are slick guys you know and so george maloof who's one of the owners he's kind of like the the face of the brothers is gonna stop by and say hi to us today
Dude, I got questions, man. Yeah, man. So he'll probably tell you how they designed everything and all those stuff. He owns the Sacramento Kings. These guys are legit. What sport is that? Basketball. A P1 maiden. What did you do? Mike, another cool thing is that you might not even notice this unless they tell you about it, but look up when you're out on the casino floor and the ceiling fans, they're not your average like, you know, four foot radius or whatever.
I don't know who Kate Walsh is. What? They just got married last year. Calm down. I know this is a gigantic game. Very upsetting for Ashley. Yeah. Let me Google. Yeah, Kate Walsh, private practice. She was initiated. She's got a private practice. What is she, an orthodontist, or what does she do? No, Mike, on TV. Yeah, she was originally on Grey's Anatomy, and then Grey's Anatomy was so successful they wanted to do a spinoff, so they made her basically the star of the Grey's Anatomy spinoff, which is private practice. He's a big guy up in the freaking, you know. Wow. That is some good information. Speak English. He just filled us all in. Here's her and her husband. He's a big rig on the channel that Private Practice is on. ABC? Yes. People are going to want to stick over.
Yeah, very fast. We're at the Palms, and this place is the bomb. We've got a lot of stuff coming up for you, and we want you to call us at 570-1053. What is the latest on the governor of Illinois? We will update you on that and more stuff when we come back. It's a Mikey show.

Drug bust in San Diego. Skye, what was it? Sorry. 14 people were arrested this week with conspiracy to distribute thousands of tablets of ecstasy. What a trip. Yeah. Literally. Oh, you get it? You get it? I saw every laugh has to end with a... Yeah, so I guess it was a deal with China where they would make trips to China and ship the ecstasy back to Southern California. You can see me peripherally. You know I'm looking at you. China. We're trying to get those effects in there. Do it. Oh. Eddie just touched Sean. Did he touch him? Yeah. Oh, Sean just took his headphones off, pulled away, and is walking to the bathroom to wash. There he goes. Watch what? His arm where you touched him. Why? Why did you touch the guy that you know? It was an accident. I didn't even know he was there. But you blatantly poked him. You blatantly poked him. It was an honest mistake. It happened. He doesn't like to be touched.
Yeah. He's a germaphobe. Come on. With the ecstasy bust, Sean's furry raves are going to be a lot less. Oh, yeah. They're going to be way different. Yeah. They're going to be way different. Wow. A whole different experience. Very sober pandas. Oh, he's back. There he is. Oh, Sean. There's my sweet little cupcake. Look, he went and washed his hands. You all right, Sandals? Hey there, Snookums. Are you better? Sandals and socks? Yeah. Totally in. Did you have to throw in that he's wearing sandals and socks? Totally in right now, Mike. That's a new thing to do. That is not necessary to throw in. Hey, Ray, the Tevas. Is that what they're called? It's winter. No one would have known. It's winter. No one would have known. He had surgery on his foot. Oh, great. The beautiful Palms Casino and Resort. Gorgeous. And here at the beautiful Palms Casino and Resort, they have a button at your door when you walk in that you can press for do not disturb. Yeah, I've never seen something like that before. It's very cool, very high tech. Yes, it is. You just press the button and it lights something up. Well, one of us, I won't say who, I'll just give initials, Boston Rob, did not know. I wonder who that is. He did not know that said button exists. So what he did was he made a homemade sign. Wait. He made a homemade sign. Oh, my God. With crayons? What are we talking here? I don't know. Was it a makeshift? What are we talking here? What did you do? What did you do? Tell us about this sign that you made. Just take the door order form for your breakfast in the morning. Breakfast, actually. And you flip it over. You got a blank sign. And you just write all over it, whatever you want. Don't disturb. Come after 10. Leave extra mints. Did you not see the button right next to the door? You think I would have made a homemade one if I'd seen that thing? I don't know how to work that thing. You push it. Geez, I'm like Steve Jobs. He's the best. You are a delight, sir. Here's a couple things. I can make you one.

How hysterical. How hysterical was Mayhem. Too many shots to the head, man. Right? Dude, it was awesome. That's awesome. Hey, thank you, dude. Appreciate the phone call. Mikey Show, hello. Hi, this is P1 Passion. I was calling because I heard you guys raised over $1,000 for Children's Hospital. Yeah, for those of you that didn't hear it. Oh, yeah. For those of you that didn't hear it earlier, let me tell people what happened. So, yesterday, we're raising money for Boston Rob to be able to grab a meal while he's out here. And also, we're going to give half of it to Children's Hospital. Well, we said if we raise $1,000, that we would shave the New York Yankee symbol in the back of Rob's head. If we could raise $1,000. About 45 minutes before we wrap up taking the donations, we're not to $300 yet. We're almost to $300. But we know that in 45 minutes we're wrapping up. So I'm like, oh, I don't know what we're going to do. I'm embarrassed. We're not going to make it. And I know we're not going to make it. So we shave Rob's head. We then go back into the office. And we're sitting in the office for about a half an hour or whatever. After the show. After the show's over. And we get an email that says we raised $1,058. Hi, Rob. Wow. That's crazy.
Sky goes, look at Mike's face. Because I'm like, we shaved his head. What do we do? We're jerks. And Eddie goes, it's all right. We're good. I go, what? Eddie goes, we'll spray paint it into his head. Which is even better. So on Monday, we will invite listeners down. We're going to make good. And we will take a stencil. And we will spray paint in blue and white the New York Yankees symbol onto the back of his head. And make him go in public. Yeah, and we encourage P1s when they see him in public to point it out. And laugh. Yeah, definitely. And we're sending him out on Monday to do you got robbed. Well, duh. Oh, perfect. And so he will be out there to see with that spray painted Yankees symbol on the back of his head. Humiliating. Not bad. P1 Passion. Go ahead. I wanted to say thank you. My daughter has been at Children's Hospital all week, and what you guys did was awesome. I do want to say, you know, I did call and donate as well because Children's Hospital is just a fantastic place, and they take real good care of their patients there. Hey, well, listen, if people are listening right now and they want to support Rady Children's Hospital, there's a real easy way to do it. There's a real easy way to do it. You can always do it through Rady Children's Hospital.
What we wanted to let you know, too, is that our best of CD, all the money that we make from our 2008 best of CD, Sweet Berry Wine, all the proceeds, all of the proceeds, 100 percent of the proceeds are going to Children's Hospital. Listen, I just want to tell you that I love you. Oh, thank you, brother. Dad, I'm very serious when I say that from listening to your show and what you've brought to mainstream media with your commitment to Christ that I actually consider myself to be a better man today and a better father. Oh, dude, thank you so much, bro. That is great. Thank you, brother. That means a lot to me, man. You guys need a lot of my life. You really do. Oh, dude, thank you very much. Thank you, bro. That means a lot to me. Thanks. All right. Let me tell you, that is a great call. That is a great call to go out on, man. It's been an amazing, awesome trip out here already. And every Friday, you know, at the end of the show, I tell you about my story.
It's days like these, man. When I'm out here and we're in Vegas and I got all my friends here. Dude, that is so cool, man. Especially when you consider it's a trip. It's a trip. I got my laptop here. And I'm putting together some thoughts right now about my life. And we were on that plane last night. And we were flying out here. And, you know, they do the thing where they turn the lights down, right? in the plane. And, uh, you know, so it was like an hour long flight and it got to be nighttime while we were traveling. My wife doesn't even know this, although she may, she's pretty in tune with me. So she may know it or not know it, but I was crying on that airplane last night, man. Yeah. And I was drying my, I was drying my eyes with my sleeve. Uh, cause I was putting together thoughts of, uh, putting together thoughts of some stuff that's gone on in my life, you know, stuff even that not everybody knows about, you know? And I was putting it together, and this thought just occurred to me as I was putting all this stuff together. You know, if you've never heard my show before, you don't know that, you may not know that my history is an addiction, but it's not just an addiction. It's just in some really trippy stuff that happened to me when I was a kid. And not just when I was a kid, but all through, you know, just stuff that's happened all throughout my life that created a guy.
that was extraordinarily insecure and a guy that had some low self-esteem and just some low feelings of self-worth. That was kind of how I grew up. And there was a point in my life where I started drinking, and my oldest brother, Mark, he said to me one time, we were in Tucson, and we were driving in the car, and he said to me one time, because he knew I was starting to, you know, kind of party a lot. And he goes, doesn't it worry you that we have alcoholism in our family? And I said, what do you mean by doesn't it worry me? And he goes, well, doesn't it concern you that, you know, with you partying as much as you are, doesn't it concern you that you could end up there? And I said, well, man, you know what? That's why I know I just got to keep it in check. You know, I just got to keep it in control. And I honestly, I really thought that that was something that I could do.
And because I thought I was in control of everything. And I eventually got to a point in my life where I could not control it anymore. I couldn't control it anymore. And what I was doing is I was the reason that I was so drawn to drugs and the reason that I was so drawn to alcohol is because those same exact feelings. And I'm telling you, man, I was putting down some thoughts on a story last night that I hadn't really thought about for years that I hadn't really, you know, it's from when I was like three or four years old and I was putting that story down and I hadn't really visited that story. I couldn't help it. Those tears were like popping out of my eyes, man. They were leaping out of my eyes just thinking about it because I hadn't been there. And that those drugs and the alcohol. Just because I wasn't actively thinking about it doesn't mean that it wasn't there because it was there, man. It's always there. Everybody that's listening right now, you have your story. You got your story. You got your airplane story. And you may not think about that airplane story, man. You may not think about it, but it's there. It's there. And those stories and that story, those were the things that made me drink. Because when I was drinking,
or I was using drugs, I was not feeling any of that stuff that those experiences created. I wasn't feeling it. But it was still there. I drank to the point where I was addicted to alcohol, and one night, laying in bed, I had tears streaming down my face, and I turned my life over to the care of Jesus Christ. I found years, you know, a few years after I did that, I found this Bible at my dad's house. And it was, it was just a translation of the Bible. There's a million ways that you can translate something. And if it says, it says the same thing, but it's written in a language that for me, that was real easy to understand. I didn't understand the Bible when I read it. And it was like the, and now I didn't understand it very well.
And this was written in a really easy to understand translation. In fact, if you go to mikeyshow.com, click in the keyword section, type in the word help, it'll even show you a link on Amazon to the exact one that I read. I call it the green Bible because it's green in color, the binding is. But it was a language that I could understand, and I started reading it. And what happened when I was reading it was, if you're sitting in your car right now or you're sitting at work, there's radio waves around you that you can't see. You can't see Rock 105. It's around you in airwaves. You can't see it, but it's there. And if you turn the radio on, you can hear it. Well, when I started reading that thing on a really regular basis, God's spirit was inside me. And I was, ever since that day, man, I've been taken over by this spirit. And all those things from when I was a little kid that were getting the tears popping on the airplane last night, all those things.
He's been taking them away from me one by one. He's been taking those things out. I've lost 30 pounds since January. And it hasn't been because I've been working out because I haven't. It's been because I've allowed that thing that's living inside of me to control me instead of me. I've allowed that thing to take over inside of me. And it's changed. It's changed for me. I tell you this story because there's a lot of you listening right now that are going through a lot of pain in San Diego. There's a lot of people that are listening right now that are suffering from addiction of one form or another. There's people that are listening right now that are going through an awful divorce or an awful breakup. There are people that are listening right now that you've just got terrible news. You just got terrible, terrible news. And it's just eaten you alive. There's people that are going through such financial hardships that it's just so hard for you to keep your head above water, and for a lot of you, you're not even doing that. There are people that are listening right now that are new to San Diego, and they feel such a sense of loneliness. Or maybe you're not new to San Diego, and you still feel a sense of loneliness. Go to MikeyShow.com, and in that keyword section, write in the word help, and there are some places and some resources that you can get some help.
There are places and resources on there for that translation that I told you about. And there's even more on there. If you check it out, you'll know what I mean. MikeyShow.com, the keyword is help. And it'll give you a lot of resources to some of that stuff. Today, my life is so different. I have a wife, a beautiful son, friends. And I didn't have hope at that time. The only reason that I have any hope today. And the only reason that I'm even sitting here in Las Vegas with my friends and having fun is because I finally had to just give up and say, I can't do it my way anymore. You have to do it for me. You have to do it. Every Friday at the end of the show, we play this song that's really, the lyrics of it are full of hope. And that is so awesome. You can't put a price tag on hope. Hope is something that you just can't put a price tag on. This song is by a band called Third Day. Listen to the lyrics of the song because the lyrics will really speak to you, especially if you're going through any of that stuff that I was talking about. You guys have a great weekend. Everybody here, we're partying in Las Vegas, folks. Lovely in town that Missy's up next and we'll see you back in the studio Monday.
