Skye opened the serious news with the arrest of a Ramona gas-station owner whose alleged insurance-fire scheme killed an employee, and the crew later argued over President Bush's $13.4 billion auto bailout, union pay, jobs, lending, and national security. Callers supplied the show's most personal uncertainty: Max prepared to introduce his white girlfriend to a wary family, P1 Salad weighed leaving a boyfriend over an alleged affair with his married boss, Leonidas planned a proposal after ten years, and Kevin objected to his girlfriend hosting her ex overnight. The lighter bits included P1 Billy offering her newly released husband as a canvas for a Proverbs tattoo, Skye exposing Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's two fake weddings, Eddie defending Philip Rivers's Pro Bowl case, and a QVC katana demonstration ending with the salesman stabbed by his own broken blade. The emotional center came from a young Marine grateful for the Soldier's Silent Night tribute and from Mikey's testimony about surviving childhood abuse and addiction through his Christian faith.
What happened, in order
Ramona Arson Arrest
Skye explains why police suspect a Ramona gas-station owner hired an employee to burn his debt-burdened home, only for the employee to die in the explosion.
Tattoo by Request
P1 Billy calls while tattooing her newly released husband and lets the hosts choose Proverbs 3:5 as his next tattoo.
Auto Bailout Debate
Mikey, Skye, Sean, and the crew argue over the $13.4 billion automaker bailout, union concessions, lending failures, unemployment, and whether domestic factories are a national-security asset.
A Marine Says Thanks
A 20-year-old Marine writes that the show's Soldier's Silent Night tribute gave him chills and that public gratitude gives service members strength.
A White Christmas
P1 Max worries about surprising his family by bringing home his first white girlfriend because he expects his mother to prefer that he date within his race.
The Boss Affair Rumor
P1 Salad plans to confront her boyfriend over a secondhand claim that he slept with his married boss before their relationship, while the hosts debate trust, change, and whether she should leave him.
Ten Years to Yes
P1 Leonidas reveals that after ten years together he will propose to his girlfriend during an anniversary dinner in Coronado.
The Ex Sleeps Over
Kevin says his girlfriend wants her son's father to stay at her house during a visit, and the entire crew tells him the arrangement is inappropriate and suspicious.
Twice Fake-Married
Skye reports that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt staged both a Mexican elopement and a courthouse ceremony without completing a legal marriage.
Rivers Was Snubbed
Eddie argues that Philip Rivers deserved the Pro Bowl over Jay Cutler and Brett Favre because Rivers led the NFL in passer rating and had the stronger touchdown-to-interception numbers.
Katana Demo Disaster
The crew plays a QVC clip in which a host strikes a katana against a table, snaps the blade, and gets stabbed in the arm by the broken tip.
Mikey's Testimony
Mikey recounts childhood sexual abuse, addiction, and shame before explaining that becoming a Christian gave him hope and a new life.

Their eighth straight game beating Jacksonville 31-24. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Mikey Show. Get your fill of us. Holiday break. We will be back after today. We'll be back on January the 5th. 2009. 2009. Deal with it. It's our last show for 2008. There are seven of us on the show. So I'm going to introduce us. We're going to take phone calls. We're going to get into the show. We're going to have some fun. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am 38 years of age and live in North County and shave my head. So thanks. He is two, and he is a supporter of Obama for some strange reason, which I think is really interesting. See? You see what I'm saying? I love McCain. Well, he does. Yeah, he does. I guess he's going. He's a flip-flopper, huh? He's doing his flip-flopping back and forth. Obama.
Well, make up your mind, son. Is it Obama or is it McCain? McCain. Okay. Good. But you're saying both. You're saying both. I wouldn't do that. Figure it out. Once and for all. Let's see. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He is 35 years of age. And he hails from Gilroy, California. What would your song be if you had to choose a contemporary song to come into the ring? If you were a wrestler, if you're a professional wrestler today and you had to choose a contemporary song, what would it be? Probably Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. I support that. I like it. And I guess the thought there is, hey, guess what, buddy? Guess what, opponent? You're going to get a little wake up here. That I'm still going to beat you up even though I came out to wham. That's even more humiliating. Double humiliation. What a disgrace you're about to be. That's right. That's right. Skye is our news girl. Hi, Mike. Hello. And she naturally has curly hair. And she says that we will never see it in its natural state. No, it's out of control. We've seen it after it's been tamed by what they call hair product. Yes.
But it is naturally curly, and she's of Irish descent, for those of you that are wondering. And speaks full Irish. Wait. Which I think is awesome. She's speaking it right now. Well said. Just means you're drunk. That's right. Oh, okay. Well, then that's true. Let's see. Then we have Shawnee O'Boy. Hi. He is 38. And he's got a little salt and pepper going on in the hair. Oh, precious. That's right. And on the chin. That's right. How about that? It's kind of distressing. What are you going to do? That's right. I was thinking about that today when my chin is going to start going gray. It's been fun. I'm getting there. You are? I got a few little specks in there. I have a couple of strays, you know, a couple of strays, but eventually I know it's going that way. Ashley is our assistant producer. She is 25 years of age. She has blonde hair. Is she 26? What? No, she's 25. She's not had a birthday yet. No. She also has a gray beard. That's right. I do not. Our friend Rick has a gravy beard. That is true. That is true. And it reeks, dude. I don't know about that. Greatness. There's greatness stuck in it. Boston Rob is our man on the street. And he is a writer on the show. And...
And he does a variety of things. He is also Eddie's boy. And they fist bump a lot of times. And sometimes I don't know why they're doing it. But they're doing it and they know why because I'm looking at them and I can see that they know why. But nobody else really knows why. We're big fans of each other. That's right. Very big fans. And Rob has Boston tattooed across his throat. What? That I'm not a fan. That is correct. Who would do that? That is correct. I've never heard of that. That is the truth. In my life. It is true. And then there's the artist formerly known as Sir Roosevelt Zethian Oates III, Jr., Esquire, MD, DDS, President, and CEO. As seen on TV. All right, Sherry's Jubilee, and that's it. That's who he is. That's it. That's who he is. We also have two winners in the studio today. Oh, good day. We have P1 Kenny, who's in here. P1 Giants fan. Thank you very much. He goes by Giants fan. Please. P1 Giants fan. Please. And he actually won trivia. And he's in the Navy. Got three kids, two girls, one boy. His boy's name is Jake as well. When your kids have the same name, you're sort of in this little club together. It's really strange, you know? Really? Yeah, yeah. You're like, oh, you're one of us. Giants fan, welcome.
Giants fans 27. And P1 Penguin is here today, ladies and gentlemen. What do you got in the bag there, Eddie? Did I blog about this? I blogged about this a few days ago about how I love pumpkin bread, peony bread, and things like that. But my all-time favorite bread is... this carrot raisin bread from Mimi's Cafe, and P1 Penguin went out and got me a loaf of it, which I didn't even know they sold, and I am in love with this, and I'm going to enjoy the whole thing. If I weren't already married. Hey, P1 Penguin, I didn't know this. She's got a cool job. She's a vet tech. P1 Penguin, come over to one of these microphones. Come over and share with Rob for a second. Or Skye. Oh, you're in scrubs. You're all dressed for work. Well, she's in scrubs. Yeah, what's the deal, Penguin? You're going in after this? What's that? You're going in to work after this? Oh, yeah. Or do you have to... You're going in at noon? Uh-huh. Wow, look at you, and you're wearing scrubs. So you assist... We need your dog! We need your cat! Yeah. So that means that...
If the vet is sitting there and he's like doing surgery, you're next to him helping out. Oh, I do everything that the vet doesn't do. So blood draws, urine draws, vaccines. Oh, good for you. I was like a horse. All that stuff. Catheter placements. Ew. Catheter placements. A little dirty. Yeah. But it happens. All these dogs and all these cats, they all have real different personalities. Would you eat your dog? Would you eat your cat? So some dogs may be cool with something and another dog's not. Well, actually, I was just telling Giants fan, I went to a really formal event where I had to wear this, you know, nice black dress and, you know, do my hair all nice. And I had just finished working with a very large dog that we had to take x-rays of. And it was just me and one other young lady. And my arms right now are covered in black and blue scratches, bruises, and all kinds of things. How come? What happened? What happened? He didn't feel like laying on the x-ray table. So what was he doing? Thrashing. Yeah, and you're trying to hold him down. Oh, yeah. I had to lay on top of him. How big was the dog? He was about 96 pounds. What kind of dog? He was kind of big. He was a mix. He had a little pit bull in him. He had a little mastiff in him. He was a very big dog. Dude, don't you get scared that they're going to bite you because they think you're trying to hurt them? No. No? And they don't? They don't bite you?
I've been bit before plenty of times. Keith is over to die. Does it scare you? That's probably a rough sound effect to play right there. But, you know, hey, listen, you're not here. And so you don't have to look at the person whom you just played that sound effect to. And so I understand that. Sounds like somebody's got a case of the mind. It's Friday. It's Friday. You can score and everything. But, hey, what are you going to do? Our friend Sean. Eddie. Eddie and Skye both threw their hands up in the air and then looked at me as if to say, so now what? Get control of this. Wow. Come on. In every family, one of your children is special, okay? In every family. And, you know, Sean is that child, and I love him. Send him away. I love him, though. I love him, though. And, you know, you just deal with him the best you can. He's a behavioral problem. You know that. That's a good boarding school, man. You know that he's a behavioral problem, and so...
Look at him, rolling around in his chair. He's rolling around in his chair. Frolicking. Frolicking in his chair. He's just delighted. That look, it's a look of delight. It's delight. Crazy man. They call that Sean by. It's like a drive-by, but it's with Sean. Sean by. I promise I'll be better. You say that all the time. You say it in private conversations. I mean it this time, though. Seriously. But you don't. That's the thing. You are clowning out. No, no, no. I understand. In the past, maybe, you know, it's... But I'm promising you that. Why is this time different? Because we're going on vacation. Because it's now. Because you're saying it this time. Yes. There you go. You have my... Word? Oh! It doesn't sound very... It just had something in my throat. Sorry. Yeah. There's been an ATM theft in Lemon Grove. Lemon! Lemon. Lemon. The whole door got yanked off. They must have put a chain around it or something, right? So dumb. Are they really going to get in there? Can they? And then you picture them at their home with a hammer. What are you doing? Trying to get in that thing. You've been working on that for six months. Why don't you give it up? Hey, you robbed that six months ago. Give it up. What do you think? Today's your lucky day you'll finally get in there? You're not getting in there.
Hey, will you do me a favor and just turn the lights off in here when you're done? You've been in here for six months. You shower, you eat, and then you come back down to that ATM. You're not getting in it, buddy. All right. Well, dinner's ready. We'll see you. Let's get the C4 out. Mm-hmm. 570-1053 is the phone number. And you can text us, too, 35253. And then our answering machine's available at 858-715. 1923. I'm very, very distracted right now. Why? Because I gave gifts out and Eddie's got screwed up and it's really distracting me. That would bug me too. It's alright. What? Oh, it's making me angrier at the company. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, good morning. Good morning, everybody. Our answering machine.
Is 858-715-1923. Would you like to hear some answering machine messages that we get? Well, you just did. Thank you, guys. That is weird. Wow. Oh, my God. Dad, you were, like, so hot. There's your girl. I want you to have my babies. Okay. I want you to what? Have my babies. Have my babies. These are the people I attract.
That sounds like a match made in heaven. It does. It does. Filthy face. It does. All right. Cherry's Jubilee and that's it. That is it. Can somebody walk me to my car? Let the romance begin. No. No romance. Hey, T1 Ginger here. So I went on to MySpace today where I'm friends with most of you guys. I actually made a blog titled Rain Equals Stuffing My Face. I'm just... Does Ashley think it's always raining? Because, I mean, I've heard... She doesn't know that there are some sunshiny days out there. There are some sunshiny days out there. When your apartment's flooded, Mike. That's a good point. It's still flooded, right? No, it's not. Oh, I didn't even know. You did know, you jerk. Wow, that was unfortunate. Ashley says that she was able to get in on a little leftover barbecue from the holiday popping off lobby party. Oh, popping off? Little chicken, little steak, little pork, little beans, probably some little toots. Ew. She says it was delish. And then after that, she went home.
And baked up a batch of cookies. Every day? Every day? Every day. Every day. Well, if she makes a new batch every day, that means she had to have eaten the batch from the day before. That is correct. I keep it in the fridge. Yeah, right. I do, and I whip it out every day. By fridge, she means my stomach. I bake up a sheet of cookies. I'll normally eat the whole sheet, but whatever. I'm judging you. I know. That's fine. I'm okay with that. Of course. Well, let me tell you. 570-1053 is the number. And you can text us at 35253. Our answering machine is 858-715-1923. The big news of the day. There's a few things that are making big news today. One of them is this gas station owner in Ramona. What's the deal with that, Sky? Well, so it was on Halloween when this, you know, two and a half million dollar home that belongs to the owner of a gas station in Ramona, it basically caught on fire and exploded. And they ended up finding the dead body of one of the workers at the gas station in the fire. And so they were investigating, like, how did this go down? What was going on? You know, investigation showed it was obviously arson.
Well, the more investigation they did into it, the more they found that the owner of the gas station, who also owns the house, who employs the dude who was found dead there, owed a lot of back taxes on this home. And so they kept doing an investigation and nothing came of it because this was back Halloween. Well, just this week, they finally arrested the owner of the gas station on suspicion of arson, fraud and murder. So what they suspect happened is, you know, the guy wanted to get rid of the house, get the insurance claim on the house. So he basically hired out one of his employees from the gas station to go over there and do this in the middle of the night. And something went wrong. And an explosion happened when he was trying to burn down the house and ended up killing him. So, you know, still, that's just what they suspect happened at this point. But, you know, they have arrested the owner of the gas station. What a trip, man. That's a crazy story. This is a big story, too, is the guy that was responsible for bringing down the house on President Nixon. Deep throat. That's what they called him. Deep throat. He is dead. Wow. He died at the age of 95. Oh, wow. I had no idea he was still alive. Well, yeah. I mean, you figure this dude was an adult way back when this happened.
He must have been 60. He must have been 60 when this went down. He was an older guy when all of it went down, so that's kind of crazy. That's gnarly. Yeah, he's the guy that they say initially was letting the Washington Post know what Nixon was up to. Ashley, let's test your history. Oh, no. Do you know what we're talking about? What did Nixon do? The Watergate thing. What was that? Something illegal. It was. Like, what is it called? Squandering of money. The squandering of money. What's it called? That is a good... Laundering? Laundering of money. That was not the laundering of money? Something with the government. It was. That is correct. Do you know what Watergate... stands for, like what Watergate is, what that means, Watergate. It's like money that goes towards, is it a plan? We may have a new game. We may have a new game. Yep, you're right. History with Ashley. I get nowhere fast. Watergate was a hotel. It was the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., and what President Nixon did.
Now, I don't know if he ordered or approved of, but he certainly had knowledge of. Oh, yeah. The tapping of a room at the Watergate Hotel where Democrats were going to be meeting and discussing the Democratic National Convention. And so he was listening in and getting to hear it. And that is what got him to say his big famous phrase, I am not a crook. Which is really weird because you go. Well, a crook, like, does that really apply? Like, maybe you're not a crook, but maybe you bug places. Yeah, yeah. Okay, I am not shady. I am not a bandit. Yeah, I'm not a bandit. Nobody said you were. 570-1053. P1 Billy. Hi. How are you? How are you doing? Good. Good. What's up?
Not that much. My husband just got out of prison from Donovan, and I'm sitting here tattooing him. We're Christians, so we totally are down. Come on. No, we go to Grace Chapel. Let me tell you. I'm going to tell you something. Every once in a while, you get a phone call, and you say, I've never taken this type of phone call before. 20 years of radio, this is the first time I've had a dude get out of Donovan getting tattooed in love with Christ. It's the first time ever. Praise the Lord. We love him. First time for everything. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, he saved our lives. That's cool. What are you doing? Are you sitting down in a parlor that you own? Have you made a prison? No, no, no, no, no. We're sitting at our house right now. It's a private thing. My husband just got out, you know. Okay, now are you using one of these prison homemade tattoo? No, no, no, no. I'm board certified, licensed, health department, cool. You're a pro. You're a professional.
Yeah, yeah, I've been doing it my whole life. And what are you putting on there? What are you tattooing on him? Well, what do you want on him? He said he'd get whatever you guys said to tattoo on him right now, and then he'll show up tomorrow morning and let you see it. What? Well, tomorrow morning we won't be here. Tomorrow's Saturday. Okay, well, then that makes you guys total slackers. That's right. Well, that's a fact. Maybe he can show us when we get back from vacation. There's this new thing called the internet. That is true, too. Hey, how about, yeah, Rob's got a good point. Why don't you take a picture of it with a digital camera and send it to us? I have my cell phone. Sweet. Do that. I'll text it to you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You could do that. Well, no, wait. No, you can't. You can't text it to us, but you can take a picture on your cell phone and email it to us. Okay, well, consider it done. What do you want me to put on it? I'm going to have you put what Rob just gave me as a present. How about that? Dad, come here. Sit. He said anything. Yeah? I like it. This is crazy. You ready? Yeah, what am I putting on him? You're putting Proverbs 3, verse 5. Oh, he already... You just said... He already had that plan.
Now there's stipulation. Now there's stipulation. We just got done figuring out. Give me your cross. Let me see it. Oh, okay. All right, all right. That's a different Proverbs. Okay. Proverbs 3.5. 3.5? Yep. Okay. Hold on. Oh, I'm not going to wait while you do it. We're not? I'm just writing it down. Okay. And what does that mean? Trust in the Lord with all your heart. I'm sitting in my home shop. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Right across the neck. Yeah. It's the best spot. You want it on his neck? No, wait a second. No, no, no. You put it wherever. But I do believe that according to his wedding band, he belongs to me. So I pick where it goes. There you go. You called us. Hey, have fun, will you? My husband says praise Jesus. There you go. All right. Goodbye, Billy. You want that on him? Yes. Yes. Yes, we do, Billy. Okay. Well, let me know who to email it to. All right. Let me put you on hold.
Hang on a second. Zeth, you're on it. That is different. Very different. Very different. Right out of the chute. That's right. Wow. So... So pitted. That's very pitted. Sky, what's happening? At the San Diego Zoo. Well, you know, the giant panda's there. Oh, Sean! Oh, everybody calm down. Sean! Everybody calm down. See, I decided, I just asked a question. I just said, what's going on there? That's all I said. This is the big news out of... the zoo this week is that basically the giant pandas there, which are a huge attraction, you know, yesterday we were talking about the panda cam. Yep. And there's something very subliminal that's been going on during this story. What? If you listen closely. I haven't noticed. I don't know. Go ahead, Skye. Okay. Well, so the giant pandas actually have been on loan to us from China. Yeah. They're not, you know, the zoo doesn't own. Yeah. They're on loan from China. Where's Sean's from? Shut up.
And so the zoo announced yesterday that they have worked out an agreement, which will let them, which will allow them to keep the pandas for at least five more years. So that's great. That's cool. Sean's excited. Shut it! Congratulations, Sean. Congratulations. Shut your face. That is rude. You are rude. Have yourself a merry little Christmas. The Chinese general counsel says he's happy that the pandas are being treated so well here. Cut 50. I visited the zoo and I of course came to see our relatives here. And I'm so happy that they were treated like really big, big stars in this zoo. Take that bamboo out of your mouth. Yes, sir. Up, dude. You must be so happy. No snacking while we're on the radio. Couldn't care less. Couldn't care less. Right. Touche. A dude that used to dress up like a panda is interested in stories that have to do with pandas. And that's just a fact. That's not a fact. Wikipedia it. Yeah.
Wikipedia did it. Well said. Okay. That's all she's trying to say. She's trying on. You get the spirit of the insult. You don't have to be a... Take it for what it's worth. Don't try to read into it and analyze it. I'm not taking it at all. You shouldn't. A Mikey show. I graduate college today. Oh, mama. First one in my family to do so. Now you go. That's P1 Veruca. I'm graduating today. That's right. I didn't know that there was graduations in December. I thought that all graduations. I graduated from college in December. You did? Oh, show off. Look at the big brain on Skye. Yeah. The big Brian on Skye. Wow. What a callback. Wow. Yeah. A two-year callback. Dude. So when you get enough credits at the end of a semester, whether it's in December or, you know, in the summertime, that's when you graduate. That's when they issue you your diploma. So this P1 will have the opportunity to walk with the rest of the class, you know, at the end of the next semester, which I chose not to do. I'm still reeling. Let it go. Come on. Wow. You're very close. Hey, Mikey Show, when is the CD coming into stores?
That's P1 Snickers. Well, when we get back from vacation, I know that we will be doing some CD signings. And location has not been determined yet, so we'll let you know when we get back. And we'll be back on the 5th. Hey, Mikey, it's P1 Big Red. What is the story behind The Mall? Oh, The Mall. Oh, Skye, calm down. My wife asked me that. My wife wanted to know. Oh, yeah, because it's stupid. She goes, why do you guys, every time somebody says the mall, why do you guys go, the mall, the mall. Calm down, Skye. Why do you say that? It's like you're holding out the mouth right now. I said it's because Skye loves the mall. That is not true. That is not true. I've never really heard her do that or say that. Well, you missed. You have to be in the office. Yes. Yeah. One time I said to Sean, oh, maybe you can go to the mall. The mall. That was all I said, and then this happened. You put some emphasis on it. I don't think I really did. I think there was a little bit of it. Hey, Mikey, don't forget to let everyone know that Pastor Miles McPherson will be on Good Morning America. That is right. I forgot. Miles McPherson will be on Good Morning America on Christmas morning at 7 a.m. I forgot all about that. What's he doing?
He's going to be on there with, it's going to be like three people. One of them is Billy Graham's daughter, Miles McPherson. And he will also be on, I believe, with a bishop or a rabbi. I can't remember. I can't remember. And I know I sound like a dork because I don't know what's up. But I just know that on Christmas morning at 7 o'clock, you've heard him on the show a million times, Pastor Miles McPherson. is going to be on Good Morning America, interviewed by Diane Sawyer. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. And basically, it's all about faith, you know, stuff. So, yeah, I have to make a note to remind myself about that, or I would have forgot. But anyway, yeah, that's Christmas morning. We've got a great show for you today. We're still going to do Weekend Worry Wart, and we'll kind of be wondering what all these things are going to play out. Weekend Worry Wart is... Basically, what is going on this weekend that you're a little bit worried about? And then we come back usually on Monday and we check in with him. Well, this time we're going to come back after vacation and check in with him. We'll be doing Ask the Oracle so that, yeah, you can call and ask Eddie our sports oracle anything you want. I got a lot of questions. You're not going to like the answer at all? It's not about you. That is not good. Larry the Cable Guy in the stand-up spotlight. I have three.
So this is a story formerly known as T'was the Night Before Christmas. It is now called T'was the Night Before a Non-Denominational Winter Holiday. T'was the night before a non-denominational winter holiday when all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a man. The neutral gift sacks were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that a non-specific holiday figure would soon be there. The Mikey Show is on. I'm Steve Morris with the Weather Team Question of the Day. Today's question is sponsored by Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, two full-service mountain resorts right in your own backyard.
Now here's April Winchell in Big Bear with today's question. All right, this is an easy one, Steve, so listen carefully, okay? Okay. Okay. If Big Bear is only a couple of hours away, how long does it take to get to Big Bear? Hmm. Where are you again? Big Bear. And where am I? The newsroom. And where am I going? Big Bear. And how long does that take? A couple of hours. You got me again, April. I don't know how you do it. Yeah, I don't know either. And that's the question of the day. Sponsored by Big Bear Mountain Resorts. I'm Steve Morris for your weather team. When snow falls, we catch it. After the biggest snowfall in over 10 years, the snow is epic. With both mountains nearly 100% open, now is the time to make plans for the holidays. Visit Bearmountain.com for more. It's Christmas time, Sky. Oh, my gosh. It's so close. Yeah, you got to buy presents and stuff, you know, for people that you kind of like and all that stuff. Yeah, that's the spirit. That is, really. It's all about that. I think that's on T-shirts. Yeah, I agree. And really, there's a great gift that you could go get and you will, I'm telling you, be guaranteed to be winning the best present of the Christmas time.

Okay, I'll talk to you soon. I didn't even realize I had a bad habit until... Hang on. Hello? Yo, amigo. ¿Qué pasa, man? Sure. You got it. I didn't know I had a bad habit until this guy approached me in a bar and said... You know, that's a bad habit. What's a bad habit? Hang on. What? No, it's not raining here. Sorry, you were telling me what's a bad habit? It's obvious. Drinking that light beer. Try to cut the light.
It tastes like real cerveza. So I tried Tecate Light, and after one drink, I broke my bad habit of drinking flavorless light beer. It feels good to now be bad habit free. Hang on. Hello? Hey, what's going on? Break the habit. Try Tecate Light. For those who want more. Responsible drinking is a good habit. Imported by Cervezas Mexicanas, White Plains, New York. Do you know a new study from Carfax shows that the number of salvaged cars for sale in the United States has more than doubled. Avoid buying one of these rebuilt wrecks. So watch for a bit of a slowdown there. Not a lot of volume on the freeway right now, so it's not causing too much of a problem. But if you're heading that direction, keep an eye out for it. South 15, you've got the usual slowdown developing now out of Escondido from the 78 off and on down to Villarancho Parkway. Rest of our freeways are up to speed looking pretty good. The border waits over two hours at San Isidro. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Hey, check this out. Got this email. Mikey, I have felt like a part-time P1 until yesterday. I went to Sleep Train so that I could have a reference to compare used mattresses on Craigslist. I took my three-year-old in there, which is typically a bad idea because she doesn't have the ability to self-calm herself yet. I digress. But my point is that they made it so easy to figure out which mattress I wanted that I ended up buying one at Sleep Train. I really wanted the Beautyrest World Class Paris Plush, but it was out of my budget. which is why I felt I needed to buy a used one. The sales associate knocked off $1,213 and offered to deliver it today. We got this email. B-Rob, when did we get this? A couple days ago? Yeah, two days ago. Two days ago. That's awesome. Yeah, man. My wife, who is one month pregnant with our second child, will be pleasantly surprised tonight when she sleeps on our new Paris.
Plush. She really deserves a good mattress to sleep on, and I can't wait to sleep on it with her. Signed P1 Norfus. You want that to be your story? Sleep trains are everywhere. Check one out today. Now back to the Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I'm a strange guy. Strange person. Eddie. We don't care. We love it. Boys have been rules. Sky. If I ever have a work-related nightmare, I am on a thought to 5-3. Back. It's the Mikey Show. It is 6. Entourage actor Jeremy Piven has had to drop out of his starring role on Broadway after he was diagnosed with mercury poisoning. That's funny. That's funny. This is weird. Is the way he got that true, Sky? Or is that just a joke? No, that's the real deal. No, the way he got the mercury poisoning. Yeah, no, that's the real deal. How did he get it? Dude, too much sushi. Oh, yeah, I've heard that. That is weird.
Stop, like eating it nonstop, I guess. Yeah, they say he eats sushi twice a day, and he also takes Chinese herbs for general health, and the combo of the two led to mercury poisoning. Ari. Hey, this is crazy. Talk about a role reversal, Rob. You are not going to like this. It looked like yesterday the Red Sox were real close to a deal with Mark Teixeira. Now they're saying they're dropping out and not going to sign him. Rob just squinted. So that was going to be my Christmas present this year. I'm not kidding. Teixeira made a statement that by Christmas he wants to know where he's going to be playing next year. It's not going to be in Boston. All reports were saying Sox are in the lead, Sox are in the lead. But the Red Sox don't make comments about who they're going to pursue. They try to keep it top secret. And now this. And I got a blast this morning. Like 4 in the morning, got a blast from Boston.com. Broke my heart. They will send you blasts real early like that? Oh, yeah. Whatever time something happens. Boston.com? Yeah, yeah. I get news alerts. So weird. I don't think it's Boston.com. That's just between you and I. It really is. It's Boston Globe. It's their paper. Go to Boston.com and get blasts. Why don't you just move back?
I mean, he loves it so much. Don't understand why you're here. Yeah, that one really got him. You could tell that he's just, you know, he's taking it and taking it, and he's getting to that point. You know what I'm saying? I don't want you to move back, Rob. No, we love him. I don't either, Rob. We don't want him to leave. I want you to stay here. Who's going to help me do manual labor? That's true. That's a great point. Well, I mean, I'm here, but... It is true. Oh, really? We know what that was about, Sky. We don't have to... We don't have to go... If you have any questions. If you have any questions. That was so smooth. Thank you. Just... Well, I think what she's trying to say is that Eddie and I won two out of three events, is what she's trying to say. But she won the most difficult one. I think that's what she's trying to say. Unless you need somebody to hammer a nail, then... Yes. The one that took breath. You know what I'm saying. The one that actually took thought and, you know, knowledge is the one I won. Well, fine. Well, fine. You guys want strength, I'm not going to lie. Oh, they're men. I mean, please, a gorilla could do it. That's genetics. I do not believe a gorilla could do it. I believe they could. I believe that a gorilla would look at that and then probably throw its own poo or something. Exactly. So I don't think a gorilla could do it. Polaroid is filing for Chapter 11. Wow. How about that? Oh, wait, wait, wait. Hey, Sky. Yeah. Getting a breaking news story. Yeah, the auto bailout. Yeah. I just saw that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. CNN.com. Yep.
What are they saying, Sky? That the president just held a press conference a few minutes ago announcing that the federal government will give $13.4 billion in loans to automakers. He says allowing the U.S. auto industry to collapse is not a responsible course of action. So the money will come from the $700 billion that was set aside for the Wall Street firms. So it will be part of that. Here's a crazy thought. Oh, no. How about give us? The $700 billion, and we'll go buy more cars. Yeah. I like that. Well, now that they have the bailout, it's going to be much easier to get a car, right? Yeah, right. No. Because right now, it's ridiculous to buy a car. It's pretty much near impossible. The thing I don't understand. It is?
For someone that doesn't have the great credit? They say that people are going in to buy cars right now, but they say only one out of every four person that sits down. to buy a car actually gets approved for the loan because no one's issuing the loans because they're scared to issue loans right now. So you have to have stellar credit to be able to get a car loan. So even if you have the resources to buy a car, you aren't being allowed to borrow the money. So I don't see how giving the auto industry more money is going to help in that situation. Why do they need more money? I don't even... They don't need more money. Collapse. Oh, well. Well, we, you know, I said... There have been car companies in the United States that just don't make it. They just don't make it. And so they go belly up. That's what happens when you don't make it. Thank God DeLorean's still doing good though, right? Yeah, there are great cars, man. Really great cars. Doors open, straight up and down. They're gorgeous. Beautiful. But aluminum color?
You know what I heard too, though? I heard that this is not enough money. No, this is a little band on the sitch. What's up, Chad? Well, can't they just have a bad year and then keep going? Yeah. I don't get that. Isn't everybody having a bad year? Yeah, so you have some losses this year. Sorry. Sorry you don't have record profits this year. Make some cutbacks. Well, the thing that I keep... If you go, okay, well, why are they doing this? I mean, it would seem... that the reason that they're obviously doing it is so that there's not all those auto workers out of work, correct? Yeah, that's part of it. That's why? That's part of it. I mean, okay, and what else? Well... That's a big part of it, but the crappy thing about that is you know how the House voted for the initial bailout plan, and then the Senate rejected it. And the reason the Senate rejected it is because the auto workers industry, I'm sorry, what's the word I'm looking for here, Sean? The auto association. The UAW? Yeah. Yeah, they wouldn't accept a pay cut for some of their workers.
And the pay cut was only going to ask them to make equal wages to what U.S. employees at like Honda and Toyota made. Shut up. Non-union employees. And they wouldn't budge on it. And it's like, okay, so you'd rather people lose their jobs than take a little cut? And that's the thing, like, okay. Well, but that would be like the sixth year in a row that they would be taking a cut. And not just wages either. It's also health care. Other benefits that they get when they're unemployed. But what's the alternative, Sean? Thank you. Losing their jobs? I mean, they'd rather that? I think that anybody would stand strong in saying we're not going to take a pay cut, including us. We would say that, too. Like, if we had somebody that was there and it was their job to protect us, if they came to us and they said, we want you to take a pay cut, we would say no. And, hey, guys that are hired to protect us, do it. And look what happened. It worked. I mean, they're getting exactly what and you can't blame the worker. Like we would all say the same thing. We'd all say we don't want our and we would never say, well, you know, it's better than being unemployed. We would look to guys supposed to protect us to protect us. My thing with it is, is I go, OK, if they're bailing out these car companies because they don't want all that unemployment, we're talking about 13 billion dollars that they've given in a bailout. I use that 13 billion dollars to create.
resources for the people that would be out of work because it would cost a lot less than 13 bill. And it doesn't seem right. It doesn't seem like they're going to get like 13 billion is going to even do anything. And it's about gas too, I bet. I just have a feeling it's about gas too. That those cars run on gas and they got to put gas in them and it has something to do with oil. I don't know. I'm talking. There's also a national security issue as well. What do you mean? Because the auto industry is our only real manufacturing industry. So if we were, for example, if we were to be attacked or if we were to engage in yet another war, we would need some type of factory situation to generate equipment.
Well, if all of these industries go away, that means we have no manufacturing in the U.S., which means we have to rely on foreign manufacturers. Really? Manufacturers from Japan, China, and Germany. And let's say, for example, things fall through with us and Japan. Well, if all we have here is Honda and some of the other Japanese manufacturers, are they going to manufacture our equipment? Are they going to manufacture our Humvees, our tanks, our airplanes? No way. Doesn't places like Lockheed do that kind of stuff? Well, they develop stuff, but they don't manufacture stuff. They don't have manufacturing plants. So what we're saying is the auto factories are manufacturing equipment for the military? Well, yeah. That's what they did in World War I and II. But what about now? Well, yeah. They would make planes. They would make tanks. They would make whatever we needed them to make because they have the assembly lines to do it. We don't have any other plants besides those. And another thing I heard is we've been borrowing money from China to help us. And if we're borrowing money from China to buy Chinese goods, then the U.S. economy never prospers. Because we're just borrowing money from them to pay them. I've heard that the Chinese economy is flourishing. They're getting bigger and better and bigger and better.
And a lot of it is that we do manufacture a lot of stuff in China. And my understanding is that Clinton allowed a lot of that stuff to be shipped overseas and for that stuff to go on. Oh, really? Well, hold on. Oh, really? There are three branches to that area of government, and they all have to be in agreement. Yeah, yeah. Well, there's three branches of government at all times. So everything that happens has to go through. That's true. It doesn't matter what the policy is. I'm not saying he's faultless. But somebody came up with it because they thought it was going to be a great way to make some dough. Once again. You guys are idiots. I'm sorry. Wow. I think we know who the idiot is. Okay. Apparently, Jennifer Aniston is saying that she was naked on the cover of GQ. Oh, yes, she is. It's crazy. But that it wasn't planned, she says. That it just happened.
She just got naked? Yeah, well, I guess the photo shoot, the idea for the photo shoot was to show her in various stages of undress. Like, she'd be wearing a man's suit, and some of the pictures, she'd be fully in the suit. Some, she'd just have the shirt on. You know, some, she'd just have the pants on. You know, and it just... Have you seen it? Well, I've seen the cover, and she's like, she's got her hands over her boobs, right? With a tie. I mean, your boobs are huge. But that thing is so photoshopped. Oh, please. What do you mean? Dude, it looks like she is pristine. Like there is nothing flawed about this picture. It's outrageous. Melons. Not melons, like pillows. I'm not complaining. Is she completely nude? All she has on is a tie. Got it. You're a real hooker. So I guess, you know, they had this whole thing planned, and then all the pictures just ended up being her in the tie. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, look at that. I want to squeeze them. Well, how does that happen accidentally? Well, she didn't say it accidentally happened, and she said it just happened. It just happened. Like that, you know, it kind of evolved. You've been in photo shoots, you know. Yeah, you know how it goes. Shots of Jaeger, and, you know, something just happens. It's because you have big jugs.

I'm kind of the transient of the bunch. And Ashley. What this is? Sir Elton John. Son with a giant Daffy Duck hat on. Yes. And rainbow suspenders. Huge sunglasses. And shoes with bells on them. That's right. For the season. That's right, for the season. Welcome back. It's 7.03. According to an aboriginal tradition, Nicole Kidman is now cursed after playing a didgeridoo while promoting her new movie, Australia. You're kidding, right? That is fantastic. I mean, are you kidding me? No, I guess didgeridoos are only supposed to be played by men. Really? And if a woman plays one, she is cursed to be barren for life. Oh, my gosh. Wow.
And Nicole Kidman is from Australia, so you would think she would know that you're not supposed to do that. That's unbelievable. Who knew? Cannot play with him. Cannot win with him. Well, listen, just because she's a woman doesn't mean she can't play that thing, coach. Can't do it. All right, fine. We know where you stand. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. And before we went to break, we were telling you that David Copperfield had a friend. A little helper that got in some trouble. We'll tell you about that in just a second. Got some text messages here. 35253 is the text number. Mikey, why don't you do Tyrone and Tortilla anymore? That's P1 Joey. Well, sorry, but we do. Yeah, they've been back. Yeah, Tyrone and Tortilla have been back. That's what makes you P1. You've got to be listening. Oh. You've got to be listening to the show.
From beginning to end because they have been back and they will continue to be back. Awesome. This one says, hey, Sports Oracle, do you think the Chargers are going to beat the Bucs? NFL Network analysts say that they will. But then I heard them say that they will lose at home to the Broncos. What do you think? That's P1 Sky. Let me tell you something. If they go to Tampa Bay and win that game, I guarantee victory that they will beat the Broncos here at home. I guarantee it. I will put my reputation on the line that they will win. I love it. That game against Denver. Now, the game against Tampa is the questionable one. They've had a really hard time going back east and playing on the road. And so if they can pull one out against Tampa Bay, which I think they will, I guarantee you they will win. Dude, that's awesome. Denver has to lose for it to matter. But Denver has to lose for it to matter. So a lot of factors still. And Denver's playing Buffalo. Yes. Who is struggling. Struggling. Struggling. Oh, man. But Buffalo has their quarterback. back this week, Trent Edwards should play and start. Yeah. So that'll help. Mikey, where does the drop and a Cherry's Jubilee and that's it come from? All right, Cherry's Jubilee and that's it. It cracks me up. You guys rock. That's P1000. That is Jack Black and Tenacious D from their album. Eddie, do you think the Steelers will beat the Titans on Sunday? That's P1 Grim.
I do think that they will beat the Titans. The Titans are out without their two top defensive players, Kyle Vandenbosch and Albert Hainsworth. And I think they're going to need both of those guys if they have any chance to beat the Steelers. There you go. Mikey and Eddie, B-Men, you guys lost the Handyman Challenge. Get over it. Sky is the bomb. Yeah. It's P1 Whitey. Like most contests, when you win two out of three and lose. Well, you know what I mean? Hey, make the rules. I didn't make the rules. The rules were made before we started. That's right. Let it go. Let it go. So what are you going to do? Let it go. All up in your face. How about that? Let's see. Oh, listen to this email. This is really cool. Mikey, what's up to all you guys? I'm 20 years old, currently serving in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Camp Pendleton. Pepper Phi.
I am a SoCal native and grew up in a small town between San Diego and L.A. I've been listening ever since. Ever since I knew what rock was. Earlier today, this email came in yesterday. I was driving back from delivering some chow to some boys on the rifle range about 0830. That's about the time that you played the silent night for soldiers. And I have to say that it gave me chills. I've only been in a year, but I've been asked. Thousands of times, why did I join? And I know a lot of people will say cheesy things or because I got in trouble or even for some, a majority of us, we still do it for people like you. I can't tell you how many times I've been noticed by a retired military personnel or just by a civilian that notices I'm in the military and they just want to say thank you for what I do. And every time, I'm speechless. But if you could at least say something on the air that that's what gives us the strength to do what we do for so many of us, it's fighting for the freedom of our country. It's only possible by how much support we get from citizens like you guys at the Mikey Show. Rock on, guys. Amen, brother. That is very, very cool, man. Love it. If you have not heard it, it's the Soldier's Silent Night, and it really, really is incredible.
It was the night before Christmas. He lived all alone in a one-bedroom house made of plaster and stone. I had come down the chimney with presents to give and to see just who in this dwelling did live. I looked all around, a strange sight to see. No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree. No stockings on the mantle, just boots filled with sand. On the wall hung pictures of far distant lands. Medals and badges, wards of every kind. A sobering thought came alive in my mind. This house was different. It was dark, it was dreary. I had found the home of a soldier. I could see that most clearly. The soldier lay sleeping, silent, alone, curled up on the floor in this one-bedroom home. His face was so gentle, the room in such disorder, not at all how I pictured a United States soldier. Was this the hero of whom I'd just read, curled up on a poncho, the floor for a bed?
Then I realized the other families that I saw this night owed their lives to soldiers who were willing to fight. The morning around the world, children would play. Grown-ups would celebrate a bright Christmas day. But they all enjoy freedom each month of the year because of soldiers. I couldn't help but wonder how many lay alone. Oh, Christmas Eve, it lands far from home. The very thought put a tear to my eye. I dropped to my knees. I started to cry. Soldier awakened. Santa, don't cry. This life is my choice. I fight for freedom. I don't ask for more. Life is my good. But I couldn't control it when I continued to weep. Watch for hours. So silent and still. The bus shivered from the cold night's chill. I didn't want to leave him on that cold, dark night.

All right, let's fill you in in just a second here about this David Copperfield thing. Let me give you some text messages we're getting. 35253 is our text number.
This text says, Mikey, really? Making me cry right before I go into work? Okay, I'm better now. Says, thanks for playing that silent night for the soldiers. That's P1 who? Mikey, stop! Exclamation point. Every time you play that soldier thing, I get tears and then I look like I'm the office sissy. That's P1 ninja face. This one says, Mikey, that was intense. As I sit here and put on my makeup, I have tears in my eyes. Probably the most intense thing I've heard in a long time. That's P1, our sound effects guy, Sean, from when he was 16. So, different type of makeup. That was from Krista. That was from Krista. Mikey, thank you for playing the Soldier Silent Night. Thank you for reminding us that freedom isn't free. May God bless those fighting for our freedom. That's P1. Freedom. Mikey, thanks for playing that. Had to come to a complete stop to wipe the tears. That's P1 Sailor. God bless Mikey. That song brought tears to my eyes, to this Marine's eyes. Thank you for your support. That's P1 Mackie. Very cool. Very cool. David Copperfield's assistant, Skye, is that it? Yeah, one of his assistants. What happened? Well, Mike, it was a trick involving a 12-foot industrial fan. Hmm.
That can't be good. Those can be tricky. That can't be good. Not a good start. No. Yeah. The assistant had to be rushed to the hospital after a fan blade caught his arm and broke it in several places. Okay. Also causing injuries to his face. Okay. When it happened, the curtain was immediately closed and the show had ended for the evening. That's probably the best part. I think we're done. You mean they didn't go on with the show like they did with Siegfried and Roy? Yeah, so the show's executive producer says that... Bye-bye. That Copperfield will continue to use the fan trick where he walks through fan blades and then disappears. So that will be... They'll still use that trick. Lesson learned. I believe that people should be careful when playing with very... very sharp things. I do. I do. And when we get to the YouTube clip of the day today, it will really drive that point home. Just want to let people know. This is the Weekend Worry Wart. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
So, the Mikey Show is going to be on vacation for a little bit, and that means that we are going to have, you know, Christmas holiday, New Year's, all that stuff. Are you worried about anything? Are you freaked out about anything? What is going on big in your life while we take our break? It's a vacation edition of Weekend Worry War. Call us right now, 570-1053, and then when we come back from break, we're going to check in with you and find out. How did it turn out? What do you mean? Like having your entire family travel down to San Diego and stay with you for Christmas? Exactly. Just like that. I can't believe how many people Eddie is having at his house. Talk to me. My entire family. Are you kidding? They're all coming. Like the cousins, the cousins' babies. Everyone. Are you guys like breaking out the sleeping bags? We got a couple of those aero beds. Yeah. But people are just, you know, going to find a piece of floor and stay on it, I guess. Wow. It's crazy, man. I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm going to sneak in in the mix. Yeah. Rob gets a little, you know, plate. Yeah, eggs over easy, Ed. Yeah. Rob, what are you doing here? I'm joking. That's awesome. 5701053. So, yeah, what do you have going on over the break that you're like, oh, dude, you know, maybe it's that you are going to be.
getting married or you're going to be asking somebody to marry you. Those are big. Especially on Christmas time. Maybe you have to tell somebody something and it's tripping you out. What always stresses me out is if I order something through the interweb and stressing out that it's going to get here in time. Yes. That's the worst. You're sitting there at 4 o'clock in the afternoon going, they haven't come yet. It's not going to make it. I don't think it's going to make it. Let's see. P1 Max, are you there? Hey, how you doing, man? Good, dude. What are you worried about? I have a white girlfriend, and my parents are having a party, and I'm going to be bringing her over to the house. So, basically, I'm going to be having my own white Christmas. So, like, are your parents not okay with that, or are they going to be cool? Well, the thing is, they're not aware of it, you know? Yeah. Start dating this girl, and, you know, she's really hot and everything. Yeah, I feel you, I feel you. Where are the white women at? Okay, Max, have you ever dated a white girl before? Never. Oh, well. Has anyone in your family ever dated a white girl? You know what, to be honest with you, if they did, they never told me about it. They never brought her around. Max! Eddie, stop it. Damn! You're just way too white for me, old boy. What are you doing, Eddie? I mean, what is that? You never talk like that. You never talk like that.
I know what you're saying, Eddie. Go on with your best self. Tell me who you think is going to be the bigger challenge, your mom or your dad? I would say more so my mother. She's more like Eddie. She's not racist or anything, but she would prefer me to date inside of my race. You know, me, I like to venture. I'm an adventurous person. You like to venture. Really, since you're on the phone. What are your stats? Yes. Yes. Well, Max, I want to know how this turns out, man. I want to check. I want to check in with you after the break. Like, Max, do you think your family will say something? Like, is your family the type that will maybe take you aside and say something? Or will they just say something with her right there? Well, they'll probably say it with their facial expressions. Wait, wait, wait. Why not give them a heads up? Yeah, why are you not giving them a heads up? Why are you just going to bring her over? I don't know. I mean... You tripping, Max. You straight tripping. Eddie. Eddie, why are you doing that voice?
Like, Mom's supposed to be eating the ambrosia, and then all of a sudden, like, Booyah! Booyah! What's up? All of a sudden, Booyah! You're so dumb. Hey, what's up? I'm sorry, Max. You are dumb, Eddie. Max, what is going... So you're just going to... You decided you're just going to take the surprise approach because it might go over better. I mean, hopefully. You know what I mean? Hopefully. I just don't get the subtle silence approach, and they all look at me funny, and then when they leave, then it's like, what are you doing with this person? And, you know, I just hope that, you know, they'll be embraced and enjoy it. Yeah. Like, I will. Oh, snap. That party is going on. Question, Max. Now, is the girl that you're dating, is she, like, super white like Skye? Is she super white like Skye? Stop it. Or does she have, like, 0.1% African-American like Ashley? Interesting.
I would probably go with the second one. Yeah. You know, she's not super white. She's not like, you know. What's she look like? Oh, she looks like Jessica Simpson. There you go. That's pretty white. I would say that's pretty white. But brown eyes, like blonde hair, brown eyes. Yeah, I think that's why I ventured off into that, you know, that area. Yeah, I hear you. You like the white meat. There it is. Ain't nothing wrong with it, Mike. All flavors taste good, you know what I'm saying? Eddie, you're not relating to him more or something, if that's the deal. If that's what you're going for. Just by saying, I beg to differ. All right, Max, we appreciate it, man. We'll talk to you when we get back from break, and we'll find out how it went. Much respect. Thank you, dude. Much respect. P1 Salad. Hi, Mikey. What's going on? This is so weird. It feels really crazy to tell you on the radio, but I work with my boyfriend, and I...
I found out that before he and I were dating that he had been intimate with his boss who's married. Really? Yes. Yes. And I was told by another coworker who's a friend of mine, and she thought that he would eventually tell me, and he didn't. So she told me, and I'm going to confront him this weekend. Now, wait, wait, wait. Now, hang on a second. Hang on a second. Questions, questions, questions. Here we go. Well, is this your boss too? No, no, no. It's a different department. Different department. Okay. And now you're saying that this happened while you guys were dating? No, we weren't going out at all. We weren't going out at all. But the reason that I think it's so severe is because obviously she was married, and if I'm with him...
We're talking, you know, we've been together for two years. And if he doesn't respect marriage lines and marriage boundaries, then I don't even want to go further. Okay, then are you going to confront or are you going to break up? I'm going to confront to see what he says. Like, maybe it's not even true. Like, I don't want to do a hearsay and just believe it. Like, I want to hear what he says. And people can change, too. Remember that. Um, yeah. Can we save that clip, by the way? Yeah. It says it all, doesn't it? So what are you hoping he's going to say to you? He has a real tough time, like, lying. Like, he can't do it well. So it's going to be pretty interesting because I'm, like, livid. Like, I hate that lady. I can't stand it. You hate her? Interesting. What kind of married woman does this? What kind of guy does it with a married girl? Exactly. No, that's what I'm saying. That makes him look like a piece of garbage. And if that's the case, then it's done. So what could he say that would make you forgive him, be able to move on? What would be the answer that you would be looking for? I'm hoping that it was just...
a fake rumor. You know what I mean? So you're hoping it wasn't true at all. I'm hoping, yeah, I'm hoping it wasn't true because the only leeway he's going to get is either it's not true or it is true. And if it is true, it's done. How long ago was it? Oh, man. It was two years and four months ago. How old is he? Oh, not like she's keeping track or anything. It's seven hours now. It became 7.30, so seven hours now. So, how old is he? He's 27. 27. And when he was 25? Yeah. How old is she? She's 32. Yeah. And she still works there? Well, it's a big firm. Like, they're both in our corporate communications. Gotcha. Yeah, they both. Do they still work together? Yeah, they, yeah. And they get along like fabulously. They get along fabulously? Yeah, like, they get along. Like, they're, like, they laugh and joke. Is she still married? Yes. Oh, man. I know. I want to call her husband. One more question. One more question. Oh, shoot. Did it only happen one time, or was it, like, a little bit of a fling? Or did it only happen once that he slept with the boss? This is what I was told, okay? Because I haven't, like I said, I haven't talked to him, so I can't give you... Yeah, in what context were you told?
Well, we were at lunch, me and a friend co-worker. I mean, we hang out on the weekend, so it's not just a co-worker. But she's like, listen, I don't know if you've been told by so-and-so yet. But I think it's really sickening. And I have to tell you if you don't know. And then she told me. And how did she come upon this information? I think she said that she found it from her supervisor. She heard it from her supervisor. Yeah. Okay. Well, I mean, just, hey, listen, I, listen, I have, I have no, I have no idea, but, you know, just keep in mind, you're hearing it from, you know, one person to another person to another person. Maybe it's true. Maybe it's true, but I don't know. But you're hearing it from, you know, different people. I think it's a good idea to, uh, ask him about it. And I also think it's a good idea just in general to proceed with caution. If, okay, so can I ask you a question? Do you think it's,
It's really exaggerated for me just to stop it and leave him, if it is true. Am I being crazy that way? No, I don't think you are at all. I don't think you are at all, you know, unless there has been this big, significant change in his life. But what would be really, the thing that would be curious to me is that you don't already know about this big, significant change in his life. You know, in other words, With me, you guys know that I talk about big significant changes that have happened in my life. And when I meet people, they usually know it. If I was dating someone, they would know it. After two years? Yeah, they would know that I used to drink. But I don't drink anymore. It's a big thing that happened in my life. I don't drink anymore. And that I become born again.
In God. And people would know. I'd be telling them, you know, singing it from the rooftops. And so if some, see, that's the thing. Like, there's got, I mean, has there something happened? Has something happened that he was one guy and now he isn't? Well, not since, I mean, he's been consistent with me since I knew him. But since it was a couple months or four months exactly before he and I started even talking. then I'm assuming if there was a change, it could have happened before then or even just a realization that this is messy and horrible and nobody should ever do this. I don't know. Yeah. I guess I'm totally ready just to pounce on him. Yeah, I wouldn't pounce. I wouldn't do any pouncing. But, yeah, I mean, listen, all I can do is take it from my own personal perspective when you say, You know, what do you think about this? I just put myself in the same position. Right. And if I were dating a girl and somebody said, hey, I think it's important for you to know that that girl that you're dating, she was sleeping with the boss and the boss was married. I would want to know if that was true. And I would ask if that's true. Now, if there was no, if I knew of no, you've been dating how long? Two years. Two years. Okay. And I've been dating this girl for two years.
And I was unaware of any giant significant changes that have taken place in that girl's life. And I ask her and she says, yeah, I did. For me, it would have to be over. Now, that's so much easier said than done because what I'm not taking into account is that I'm doing a radio show right now at 737 sitting behind a microphone with a beautiful wife and son. And you are with this guy and you're actually in love with him. And so it's very easy for me to just sit here and say, yep, I'd split. But do I think that that's the wisest thing? Yeah, I would think that would be the wisest thing. But is this the only thing that has given you pause in two years? Cheating aspects or just kind of weird stuff like that, like being uncomfortable? Yeah, have you suspected anything like that before, that he may be messing around? Fooling around? No. No, not really. Okay. I feel sometimes jealous with certain situations, but that's not anything that he did. You know what I mean? I just think that sometimes I get jealous. Well, and I know you kind of blew off what Ashley said about people can change, but I know plenty of guys who would run around town and think with their swimsuit area and do stupid stuff. But then when they found the one woman they loved...
that was a significant change in their life. That changed them. Well, you know what? I'll tell you what. I am his first real girlfriend, and I am the only one that he's ever said, I love you, and really, like, he really means it. Like, I met his whole family. And so I think that maybe you're right with that comment. Something just to think about. It's different. Yeah. I mean, I'm not defending him in any way, but I'm just saying, you know. Two years, and he hasn't, you know, given you any reason to doubt him in two years. You know, you've got to think about this stuff. All right. Well, you've got a lot to think about. So nervous. Yeah. You've got a lot to think about. I've got my boxing gloves. Okay. Oh, no, bad attitude. P1 Sally, can we check in with you when we come back from break? Absolutely. Yeah, we'll be back January 5th. Wow. Awesome. Oh, my goodness. Hang on, okay? Okay. Hang on. We've got to get his info, her info. We'll be right back. The Mikey Show. Oh, yes! Pep Boys has holiday deals for everything on wheels. Years in August. I mean, there was quite a few people that came. I'm telling you, Hillary jumped on that like Sky jumping on a wallet made of ham. Like it had little 20s made of ham in there. Back to the Mikey show on The Rock. Rock 105.3. Well, we need this. Yeah, I mean, it's the last time until next year. Oh, holy night. Here comes the build. Go for it. Good choice. Good choice. Very smooth.
Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It is 7.56. A gas station owner in Ramona has been arrested on suspicion of arson, fraud, and murder after an employee of his died when his home that he owed back taxes on burned down. The Chargers playoffs. Hopes are on the line this Sunday as they take on Tampa Bay. All the action can be heard right here on Rock 105.3 starting at 7 a.m. with the pregame show. Yeah. And by the way, thank you very much to a extremely delicious Pizza Fusion. Outrageous. Amazing. What's this all about? Oh, this place, Ashley, you are in on this place. Let me tell you. They catered. Seth said it's organic. Yeah, it's organic. All the stuff they, like, use in the restaurant is recycled. I can't even talk about it. It's so good. They are located at 3827 Fifth Avenue in Hillcrest. Hey. Love it. And you can find them online at pizzafusion.com. And the pizza is... Good. When we said it was organic, Eddie was like, oh, great. I did not do that. How dare you say that? You did. He was actually complimenting how amazing I felt that their company was.
You were like this. I'm sorry that you're being treated this way. Mike, don't drink a beer. Mike, don't drink a beer. I know that they're fighting and this is tough, but don't. The holidays are tough. I'm telling you, it's a root beer. The holidays are tough. It's not worth it, Mike. You're in control. The holidays are hard. I don't care. Mike, please, put it down. Put it down. It's a diet root beer. It's a diet root beer. There's like eight listeners right now driving off the road. Yeah, dude. Yeah, good. Let's do this. I'm catching the 450 out there, fellas. I just heard that. So we were doing, when we left, we were doing Weekend Worry War, and we got some pretty good ones. We got some pretty good ones. Had no idea. P1 Leonidas. Hey, good morning, turkeys. What's up? What are you doing, you turkey? You turkey. What are you doing when we're gone? You turkey.
Well, I will be proposing to my girlfriend of 10 years. Where does she live? What's the hold up? What's that, where she lives? Yeah, where does she live? She lives in Lemon Grove. And she doesn't listen to the show? She listens on the way to work, but she has today off, so I know she's in bed. Okay, cool. So she's not hearing this? No, she's completely unaware. I gotcha. Well, that's cool, man. Why did it take 10 years, Leonidas? Well, I was definitely in no rush, and we were so young. I love that. We were so young when we met, and the deal was always, you know, when you're finished with college and when we get debt paid off, you know, we'll see where it ends up. And, you know, times have changed. We've done pretty good for ourselves, and we're ready to get married now. There you go. I like that, Ben. I'm glad, Leonidas. I'm glad. Well, dude, we'll check in with you, see how it went. Hopefully she says yes. Yeah, I think she will. You had a good plan? Yeah, I'm going to do it on the 23rd. It's our anniversary.
We're going to go to Coronado and take her out to dinner. Nice. Little P.O.E.'s. Is that what you're doing? What are you doing? A little classy joint. A little Hotel Del. That's right. Well, hello. A little Hotel Del. Leonidas. Back it up, flip it, rub it down. Oh, no. That was really weird. Yeah. Back it up, flip it, rub it down. Oh, no. Leonidas, we will check in with you when we get back and find out how it went. Yeah, hey, Feliz Navidad, Mikey. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Gracias. I love you guys. La otras trocas. And also, Willis, ¿qué es eso? ¿Cómo se dice? P.O.E. P1, Jason. Jason, are you there? Oh, that's too bad. That's too bad. Kevin, are you there? I'm here. Dude, what do you got going on that you're a little bit worried about? Okay, well, I've been dating this woman for about six months, and she has a three-year-old son. And the son's daddy lives in Atlanta, so for the weekend, he's coming down to pick up the son. But while he's here, he's not going to leave until Sunday, so he's going to be staying at her house. And I guess the first part about it, their relationship was purely sexual when they were together.
Her this week. His girlfriend. Dude. Hold up. Wait a minute. Well, very inappropriate. Yeah. Well, what? Why is he coming here? Yeah. Why is he coming here? Pick up their son. Pick up their son. So he's flying down from Atlanta, going to fly back out to Atlanta to see his family. Uh-huh. So why can't he stay at a hotel? She said, well, he paid for the ticket, so he shouldn't have to stay at the hotel. He could stay at her place. No, that's not a rule. Well, not only is it not a rule, but just the fact that she's making the... She's defending him. You know what I mean? She's making the excuses. Yeah, that's a little... That ain't right. Don't know about that one. Oh, yeah, we've been bumping heads over it ever since I found out. Don't let that happen. I don't know. Put your foot down. That's bad. Now I'm upset. I can coach you through this. What do you think, Rob? Tell him. Dude, where is she right now? She's at home. Go over there face-to-face. You gotta do a face-to-face. What do you say? You go, no. No. She's not a German Shepherd puppy. No. You roll up a newspaper.
Yeah. Right on the nose. What do you think? What do you think, dude? I mean, do you think that this is a good thing? I don't think it's good either. Are you kidding me? And what did she say? What did she say when you said you'd pay for it? No. Why did she say no? She had no legitimate reason. She got excuses. They're friends now, and she wants her son to see them as friends. I'm like, dude. It sounds like she wants her son to see them as husband and wife. Yeah, they can all go to Chuck E. Cheese together. That's friendly. They just sleep under the same roof. Yeah, I don't know about that one, Kevin. Dude, don't. Don't, man. Kevin, I see bad things. I agree. That's what I mean. That's why it's been a big issue, so. Yeah, well. Can't do it. Okay. All right, Kevin. Well, we're going to check in with you again when this is all done, okay? All right, we'll call you. Good luck, dude. We'll see you. Stay your ground. I don't know about that one. She is tripping. Yeah, that is shady. That don't sound good. That don't sound good at all. No. Rob. That's what you say. No. Rob says you go over there and you just say no. No. No. No. Stay. Okay, that's not how you talk to people. No. No. No, that's how you talk to animals. I don't know about that.
I have a question for you guys. Heidi and Spencer. They are the people from... What is that show? The Hills? The Mountain. The Mall. Are they the people from... The Hills. The Hills. The Hills. I've never seen The Hills. I don't know who's on it. I don't know what their names are. I don't know. Only thing I know is when I see Heidi and Spencer, I know that means The Hills. They're called Spicy, I think. No, it's Spidey. The Spidey. What is it? Spidey. Oh, yeah, that. Okay, and from what I understand, this is a faked reality show. Yes. It's a scripted. It's a staged reality show on... MTV? And does it have like a, is there like a point? No. No? No? Well, isn't it supposed to be like young, beautiful, rich kids and what their life is like? Okay. Isn't that how it started, Ash? Yeah, is it rich kids or what is it? Yeah, spoiled little brats that. Spoiled rich kids. Yeah, so no point. Have no issues so they create drama. Will you guys let Ashley talk? Oh, look at her. Ashley. Oh, she's dead.
No, I'm not sad. What? Now you go. Oh, please shut up. What is it? Now you go. Okay. Now you go. Yeah, no, it's basically what you said, but they, like, focused it on Lauren Conrad or Elsie, and, you know, she moved from Laguna Beach, which was the original series, to L.A., so they titled it The Hills, focused it in on her and her friends and her new life in L.A. The first one was Laguna Hills. It was not. Yeah. You're just trying to upset her. Look at him. He's got a big, giant grin on his face. And then he turns around serious-faced. I get what you're doing over there. You've got a big grin, and now you're serious looking at her. And now this guy. You're so dumb. Okay, well, what is the deal? Oh, I don't care. They have fake married? Well, basically what happened is over the Thanksgiving holiday, they quote-unquote eloped. to uh cabo they went to mexico and eloped and uh us weekly had the exclusive rights to it and were there and photographed the whole thing and you know paid them a lot of money to photograph the whole thing all the way down to how do you have exclusive rights to an elopement you're not supposed to that's the idea of the elopement no that's part of the problem i mean and they even had like a whole photo spread of them after the wedding laying out rubbing suntan lotion on each other like it was disgusting weird and um
And basically, you know, once people looked into it, it's like this thing was planned like last minute. So they didn't actually have any paperwork filed or the necessary documents you need to get married in another country. So that wedding was totally bogus and they got called on it and they're like, oh, well, we're planning on coming back to the States and making it legit. Well, the Hills was just promoing an upcoming episode where they get married in a courthouse. But so the media started to look into that. Well, that was actually taped after hours in the courthouse, not using a real judge. So that marriage isn't legit either. So they've now been married twice. And it's both of them are total phony baloney. And they're going around like man and wife with these stupid rings on. And they're not even actually married. Huh. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, so there you go. Oh, that's proof positive of what it is then. Yeah. Awful. It's so ridiculous. I did the same thing with you both. Oh, no, Tattoo. Oh, no, no. What? I do remember you faking a marriage, but it was not to me. I think that really happened, man. Oh, tell me about the tattoo. Me and Charo? Yes. We got hitched. Oh, is that right? Yeah.
Then she won't stop hounding me for alimony. Oh, no. Oh, no. That's true. I know people that can take care of that if you know what I mean. A wink, a wink. I didn't know what you meant until you wink, winked. And then I was like, I think I know what boss means. Yes. Do you mean you had a hitman to kill him? No, no, no. We're on the air. Yes, tattoo. We should start. up a wedding service in the alum. Oh, not a bad idea, Tattoo. Yeah, yeah. I can be the official. No, Tattoo. No, you will scare the couples with your sausage fingers. Oh, my God. That wasn't very mad, boss. You're right, Tattoo. I take it back. Tattoo, are you picking your nose right now? What are you doing, Tattoo? My fingers on my nose. That's because you have soft fingers, Tattoo. Tattoo, get out. Fingers on my nose. Fingers out of your nose, Tattoo. Yes. By nothing. Get your fingers out of your nose. Yes, Tattoo. Remember season seven, episode seven, when we did our wedding episode? No. You don't? No. Remember how romantic it was?
You pick me up and you carry me over to the threshold. Of course I remember, Tattoo. I can't believe you would even bring that up. What do you mean? That was when I first discovered I had the spinal beef. Yes. Both. Yes, Tattoo. Seek out so you can get American citizens here. Oh, my God. Yes, Tattoo. It's not nice. I also remember when you pulled the trigger with your toe. That's not good. That one, Joey. You started it, you little Peruvian smurf. Easy, Tattoo. You almost hit you a hole in your head. Careful now. I messed up. Tattoo, you know. I've married many people on the fantasy island.
Buddy Epson to Marlo Thomas. Fran Tarkington. He married Mackenzie Phillips. Yeah, that's right, bud. Of course, Soupy Sales to Charles Nelson Reilly. Oh, my goodness. A lot of people. Oh, yes, and a very special episode. Mickey Rorp. Are you okay? It was a very special episode. What was it? Mickey Rourke to Estelle Getty. Too soon? Yes, too soon. Bad. Yes, Tattoo? You know, I had a fake wedding, too. Yeah, you told us about it. Yeah. I married the bearded lady three times a day, seven days a week, for four years, in the gym road circus. Okay. What? I rested you. You're fine. Be good at this. Realize. Hey, Tattoo. Yeah, boss.
Remember that time I thought it would be funny to get you and that Webster guy drunk in Vegas? Unfortunately, I don't remember that. I got you guys so drunk. Yeah. Then you guys got buried. Yeah, that's right. It was hilarious. It was not hilarious. That little hammered Webster, he tried to carry you out of the chapel. Yeah, he did. Oh, it was so good. Amen. A couple of me jots. Amen. Yes, I believe you jots. What? Can I sit on that? No, I have the spinal bifida. Okay. Hey, Matt, get out of here. Matt, do you think that I could get down from this papoose? You have not seen a papoose. I don't need you to carry me anymore. I'm not carrying you. That is foolish. I don't even know who this Heidi guy is, Matt. Are they on the music television channel, Matt? Yes, VH1. VH1, yeah. Music television stands for VX1. That is great. Or VX3, I don't remember. Yeah, that's right. You know, Tattoo. I'm not sure if you remember, but back in 1980. What was it? Luke and Laura actually considered getting married on Fantasy Island. Oh, wow. Luke and Laura. Aren't those DJs from 92.3? No, no, Tattoo.
That is Jagger and Christine. Oh, close. He was close. Sorry, Buzz. Good friends of mine. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think I remember them. Talk about recipes and puppies. That's right. It's my favorite thing. I'm making gingerbread. I wonder if Chachi is still there. Buzz, I think it's pronounced Chachi. That is what I said. No, Buzz. Move along with the script. What is your question? How come I have to keep getting shots? Oh, that is a very good question, Tattoo. It is because I do not want you to get the measles, the mumps, or rubella. You know this, Tattoo. Why do you ask? Because I'm 66 years old. Well, yes, Tattoo, but I think they go by weight now. That is why your car seat still points backwards.
I thought you were making me mad. Nonsense, Tattoo. You are my friend. You are my friend, boss. You are my best friend. Hey, boss. Yes, Tattoo. Can I get out of the papoose now? Stop it. But you're carrying me in it, and I'm a 66-year-old man. I know, Tattoo, but it has rained a lot, and you will die. There's a lot of water. Never mind. Just get up here. Okay, can I sit on your lap? 105.3. Lunchtime is the right time for Hooters Fall Football Menu. Enjoy great lunch specials that are kind to your wallet with complete meals starting at just $7.99. People love to ask the Oracle questions, and you can get your phone call in here right now, 570-1053. Mikey Show. I have a question for the Oracle. Go ahead. I want to know if he thinks the Detroit Lions are actually going to win a game this year. No, I do not. Wow. I do not think they are going to. Yeah. Eddie, why? Because they're just there. so terrible? They are a bad football team, but if they haven't won a game to this point, I don't think they're going to. They got New Orleans on Sunday, and I think New Orleans is going to win that game pretty handily. And then they have to go to Green Bay and play in Green Bay for the last game of the year, which, give me a break. I don't care how motivated you are. I don't think Detroit's going to go into Green Bay and win a football game. You know what I'm freaked out about? What's that? This is the last game of the season, right? No. This is the last week? No. Was this week 15 or 16? This is week 16, and then there's week 17 next week. So I really hope that this is not the weekend that the Detroit Lions decide that they're going to get great. Why? Well, they're taking on a team that doesn't play very good defense in New Orleans. Yes. And so I do expect it to be a high-scoring contest. Why do you ask, Mike? What's that? Because I'm playing Seth. Oh, no.
in the Super Bowl of our fantasy football league. What has you so concerned? Well, I would say that definitely the fact that he has the two skill positions. Well, there's only two good football players on the line. So I think you're good. It's only Calvin Johnson and Kevin Smith. Those are the only two guys that will score fantasy points for Detroit. So who does Zeth have? Calvin Johnson and Kevin Smith. Now, luckily for me, he drafted director Kevin Smith. Oh, that's good. Okay, so that's in your favor. At least I have that going for me. P1, 300 is on the line. A million points to you, sir. Hey, what's going on, Mike? What's up, dude? Nothing. I just got a question for Eddie. Yeah. I want to know if he knows something that I don't know or whatever, but why does Rivers never throw the ball to Chambers? He's caught, like, one ball in, like, four weeks.
That's a good question. I don't know why they're not utilizing Chris Chambers more. I think part of the issue is Malcolm Floyd and Vincent Jackson have been really reliable. They have come through in the clutch, and it looks like he's looking for them a lot more than he is to the go-to guys like Gates and Chambers. Now, Chambers is coming off an injury. Gates hasn't been completely 100% right the entire year. This coming next two weeks, I think he's going to have to look to Gates and Chambers because Malcolm Floyd has a collapsed lung. Vincent Jackson is coming off a concussion. And so, you know, I think he's going to have to utilize those guys a lot more. There you go, man. Eddie, you ready for a debate? Are you ready for a debate? P1 Ron Mexico is on the line. What's up, dude? All right. The other day, Eddie. I heard you talking about possibly that Phillip Rivers was snubbed from the Pro Bowl. No question about it. Okay. Well, here's the thing. I was looking at the numbers between Rivers, Cutler, and Manning, and they were just about similar. But here's the thing with Phillip Rivers. I think the reason why he's not at the Pro Bowl is because of the fact of turnovers, man. Like the safeties he's coughed up. He's coughed the team some games, I think. He coughed up fumbles.
And, you know, those two safeties I thought were a factor. Okay. Phillip Rivers is the top-rated quarterback in the NFL. Really? He has a 100.14 passer rating. The top in the league. Wow. How do you have a 100.4 passer rating? Be the number one guy in the league, you're not in the Pro Bowl. Phillip Rivers has 11 interceptions to Jay Cutler's 15. What? Okay. Okay. No. But what about fumble-wise? Fumbles are turnovers as well. I understand that. But, I mean, I think Phillip Rivers has had an outstanding season. He's completing passes at a 64% clip. I mean, he's got over 3,500 yards passing. I mean, he's had a fantastic season. 28 touchdowns to only 11 interceptions. He leads the league in passing percentage. He deserved to go to the Pro Bowl. 3,500 yards already? Yeah.
Oh, my. And, I mean, you know, I love Brett Favre. Oh, we know. I mean, the guy's attractive. He's a leader. He's, you know, grows a great beard. He does. Very rugged. But I don't know how he's going to the Pro Bowl with only 21 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. And he's only got an 86% rating. So, I mean, to me, it's kind of a joke, you know. I agree. I agree. Can't do it. P1 Steel Curtin is on the line. Hi, Mikey. I had a question for the Oracle. I was wondering how he thinks the Steelers are going to do, whether they're going to be able to get to the Super Bowl or not. I know their defense is really strong, but they just haven't really had high-scoring games for the past two or three games. I don't think they need to. I mean, they're doing what you do in this time of year. When you get around playoff football time, you... What was that? What's the deal, Eddie? What's going on? I'm not going to continue when she does stuff like that. What did I do? I heard Jim Mora's clip. Thank you, Mike. Let's play it again. It doesn't sound anything like Jim Mora. That's Jim Mora. Eddie, you have everybody. You're a sports guy. You've got to remember this famous press conference. What's your problem, buddy? When he said it. It's easier when you can see him. Mike.
You know what I'm saying? I don't like when you do that. When you see him. I don't like it. Anyway. Yeah, so the Steelers, they run the... Okay, now that one... What is the problem? No, Eddie, that one I understand. I'd hate her too. Yeah, the Steelers are playing good football, man. As long as they got that defense, they're going to go far. There you go. And last one is an MMA question from P1 Oceanside. Yeah, how you guys doing? Go ahead, man. I don't know. I was going to ask Eddie what he thought about that Uriah Faber, Jens Pulver. He thought Uriah Faber was going to smash him. What do you thought? I can't wait. It's coming here to San Diego, I believe, January 25th. What is this? Awesome. WEC coming to San Diego. Uriah Faber versus Jens Pulver. Two. Yes. The first time they fought was a five-round epic battle. This one is only going to be three rounds because neither one of them are champion right now. But Uriah Faber, he is so good.
He got caught with a goofy elbow in his last fight. That's how he lost his belt. I think he's going to smash Jens Bulver. Bulver's done. I don't know why he's been fighting again. Hey, brother. Thank you for the call, man. I'll see you there, dude. I can't wait. Oh, yes. Ladies and gentlemen, he answered the texts. Question for the Oracle. What? What's going on? We have a sports question for you, Oracle. This sports question says, hey, Oracle, why does Sky pronunciate? Pajama gram, jama instead of jama. It's a really good question. I mean, pajama gram, it kind of goes together. And then she says pajama gram and it doesn't even make sense. But, you know, I guess to each their own. This next sports tech says, Hey, Oracle, Sky's pronunciation of pajama gram is still killing me. I know I just texted you a minute ago.
It's jamma, not jama. It is. And so from your sports perspective, what do you think about giving her one whole ham if she says it right from now on? That's P1, please. Get ready for ham. Pajama, pajama, pajama. That's what I'm saying. Ladies and gentlemen, when we come back, I'm going to tell you what a federal judge ruled about the seals. The seal's down at La Jolla Children's Pool. Federal judges ruled. Are they staying or are they going? Tell you after this. Good morning, family. This is the Mikey Show. Pep Boys has holiday deals for everything on wheels. Enjoy Dos Equis responsibly. Imported by Cervezas Mexicanas, White Plains, New York. With a money, Mikey. Moment. So they say that one of those sharks must have gotten so spooked, and they don't know by what, but it jumped out, ended up going down the water slide. I don't believe it. There was plenty of people in there. Yeah. We got the shark on the phone. Is this a shark that jumped into the pool in Atlanta? Yeah, it is. Hey, Mike. Hey, how you doing? Sounds a lot like... Very normal. Let me just ask you. We're talking the actual shark. What am I supposed to do? I don't know. I mean, you have a shark voice. Don't make him mad. Wow. Shark. What was it like going down the slide and all that? Oh, it was great. Yeah. I went into a nice chlorine pool. Yeah. I don't know if you know this or not, but I slid in seawater. Right. It was a little disconcerting to me. Yeah.
Freshwater. Back to the Mikey Show on The Rock. Rock 105. Funny story about that Shark deal, interviewing Shark yesterday. Yeah. Yeah, it was something else, huh? It was really crazy. Fun attitude on that guy. I loved it. Yep. I had lunch with my friend Chris yesterday, and he goes, so I heard you guys interview Shark today. Yeah. And I go, yeah. And he goes, dude, I'm telling you, nine times out of ten, I would have said, this is not a good idea. This will probably not be funny. And he goes, I'm listening to that. I'm dying laughing. I'm thinking to myself, they are somehow pulling off interviewing a shark right now. He burst out laughing. Oh, it's the best. It's 837. Entourage actor Jeremy Piven has had to drop out of his starring role on Broadway after he was diagnosed with mercury poisoning. He went sushi.
Arizona's Anquan Bolden and J.J. Arrington could miss this Sunday's game at New England because of injuries. Keep posted if fantasy footballers. Ladies and gentlemen, there has been a ruling on the Seals. How many times? It's been ruled on like 700 times. Are they staying or are they going? They are staying. More apples I can throw. Yeah, a federal judge ruled yesterday. Zach better explain that comment for people that have no idea what he's talking about, and they're like, that dude's just throwing apples at seals? That's what he does. Yeah, that's how he rolls. No, he saw a dead seal on the sand, but he didn't know if it was dead or not, and he was too lazy to go down and check. It was raining. Yeah. But it was dead, and he threw an apple to make sure it was.
That is weird. So, yeah, a federal judge ruled yesterday that they should install the rope barrier, put the rope barrier back up to protect the seals during pupping season. When's that? It's going on right now for the next couple of months. Well, who wants in there anyway during this time? Yeah, you. Yeah, I mean, you know what I mean? Well, they're going to put little kids in, like, little wetsuits to take them out there? I mean, who's going to get in the water at this time anyway? Well, divers and stuff? At the children's? I thought that this was like a kids. A what? The kids versus the seals. Like, it was that whole thing. Well, yeah, it was made for kids because it's protected from the ocean, but I guess there's some really cool diving to be done in that area. Here's the swimming with bow-legged women. Yeah, I know. I usually know that because I'm usually like a pretty big diver. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, you're not. What are you getting, like abalone and stuff? Yeah, yeah, and I'm just kind of tripping out right now that I didn't know about that great sight. I don't even think you'd go in the ocean. Are you going to head out there today? I'll probably head out, yeah. You don't ever head out. You never paddle out. Ever. Kate goes in the water. Oh, yeah. The shark's in the water. The shark's in the water. And then I'm in the water. You're in the water. Then the shark's on the water.
Case goes in the water. You go in the water. Shark's in the water. Dude, I... Our shark. Our shark. I'm going today, dude. It's so pitted. Yeah, you're there. Oh, yeah. Okay, so... I got on a clip. Lighten! Popping! Show me the way to go. Eddie, that part's not on the end. Well, it's just me. Well, back in October, a judge had ruled that the children's pool needed to be restored to its pre-seal condition and that they'd have to basically... Pre-seal. They'd have to evict the seal. We get it. They're going to re-seal. You see that thing's open? You see that little Ketner boy spill out all over the dock?
So this new judge says that that would violate the Federal Marine Mammal Protection Act, and I'm sure now the opposite group will appeal again. There it is. But as of now, they're protected. As of now, you are protected. Oh, well, thank you. They're going to build a slide over there. Hey, can we tell everybody on the radio that Skye told Eddie she loved him today? Oh, yeah. It was an accident. Anybody, I love them. Oh, love us. She loves me too. She won't say it. She did. She said it one time. She said it twice when I hit rock bottom too. When you went to rehab and then that other one time. One time she meant it and the other time she was forced. Today was an accident. One time I said, will you tell me that you love me? I'm headed to rehab.
I love you. But she did cross her finger. And she wouldn't look you in the eyes when she said it. I love you, question mark. We're all so funny. I think that this may be fun for us to toss around. What celebrities on MySpace have the most friends? Dane Cook. Yeah, Dane, you gotta think of number one. That's all that guy does. Lil Wayne. No, Dan Cook's not on the list. He's not on the list. Maybe they don't consider him a celebrity. I don't know. That chick from that MTV reality show. Tila to Tila. Randy Michaels. Hannah Montana. Randy Michaels. Heidi and Spencer. Yes. From the Juna Hills. Sean, Shane, and Randy Michaels. Oh, no. Randy Newman. Sean Michaels and Randy Savage. Oh, right. The shark. Sean Michael Thomas. Paul Orton. They came. Randy Orton. Yeah, yeah. Mike. What about? Jack the Snack. What? No. Barack Obama. Jack the Snack. That's his name. He used to pour bunny rabbits out of a bag onto the mat. The guy was great. Rihanna? Huge Jackman. Huge Jackman. He probably has a lot of those. Larry the Cable Guy. Oh. No. Ben Vereen. Hell yes.
Pam from The Office. Jeff Foxworthy. Jenna Fisher. Yes, she is on the list. I'm her friend. I'm her friend. Are you? I'm her friend, too. She's in my top eight. How many? Not my top eight. How many what? How many friends does she have? Oh, it doesn't say. Jim from The Office. Michelle Phillips from Wilson Phillips. Good call. Wilson from Wilson Phillips. She's my friend. Carney Wilson. Tandy Lowenbrough. Baby Jessica. That's not us. What a weird thing to say. What a weird thing to say. You know, hey, excuse me. Excuse me. Excuse me. To Rob's defense, Baby Jessica is a real person, you know, who's grown up and may have a MySpace account. Thank you. Thank you. But is she a celebrity? Yes. No.
Oh, yes, she is. Your perception of celebrities is warped. Tom Brady. Yeah. What about him? Rosie O'Donnell. Rosie O'Donnell. Oh, good call. Anne Curry. Brian O'Donnell. Rosie O'Donnell. Oh, Kevin Howard. David Cassidy. Yes! List over. That weird brother and sister duo in Vegas. Donnie and Marie. Donnie and Marie. Shields and Yarnell. Mike and Sky. And Yarnell. Obviously. P. Diddy. Sky, give me one. Vince Vaughn. P. Diddy. Lauren Conrad. Lauren McCall. Oh. Oh my goodness. I won't even tell you what Ashley just said. Stop it. Stop it. I need you crap. I need you crap. You are ridiculous. Come on, you guys. So long. Ramsey. Ramsey. Oh, yeah. What about him? What about Ramsey? It's spelled Ramzes, but it's pronounced Ramsey. Ramzes. We're talking about real people. Ramzes. We are. Mike. What about Ramzes? So dumb. Jamie Spears. What? Why? Huh? Out of all people. All right. Lynn. Sally Sheridan.
Raven Simone. Sally Struthers. Fat Tuesday. Ashley Simpson. Avril Lavigne. Yeah, dog. Rodney Allen Rippey. David Greer. Ludacris. She's just saying, you're ludicrous. Give me a name, Scott. Marlon Wands. Travis Barker. Travis Barker's got a bunch of friends. Oh, right. Lemon Drops and Sandals. The music. Bob Barker. The drummer from Coldplay. Yes. Right. I'm looking at him. If you don't know his name. How'd he fall? The bass player. Tool. Yeah. Sky. Tay Zonday. Larry Dallas. Leona Lewis. Christian Slater. Travis Bickle. Travis Barker. We just said Travis.
I'm on the phone, Seth. But he is on the list. You're not on the phone. Mikey Show. You're the worst. Will Smith. Hello? Hello? Yeah, what's your guess? Taylor Swift. Good one. Harry Shearer. Taylor Swift is one of the top search terms on MySpace, but not... Okay, what about... Hank Azaria. Frank Jonas. Frank Langella now, you know. Yeah. Franklin D. Roosevelt. Bill Bellamy. Bill Belichick. The Joe Bros. What about, seriously, what about Anvil Levine? Yeah, Anvil Levine. Yeah, I said that like 20 minutes ago. And then Nicole Smith. Is Avril on there? No. Really? I think it'd be those teeny boppers. Right? Right. You know, like Tiffany. Oh, I got it. Yes. Thank you. Or like Debbie Gibson. That was like five years ago. Right. Deborah Gibson. These are teenagers in my world. Deborah Gibson. Yeah, Deborah Gibson. Deborah Gibson. Deborah. Oh, wow. That was for Penguin specifically. Penny Hardaway. Chris Brown, a Giants fan. Robbie Thompson. Mikey Show. Rob Thomas. Robbie the Robot. Hello? Yes, hello? Is Beyonce on there? Beyonce's here. Oh, yeah. Beyonce is on the list of the top search terms, but not top friends. Yeah, James Brown. All right, give me the rest. Who else we got? Is PG on there, but under another name? Shayna Moogler. Hayden Pantieri. Chris Angel.
Ashton Kutcher. Chris Angel. Paris Hilton. Tango and Logan. Oh, I wish. Zach Braff. The boo. Selena Gomez. And Kim Kardashian. She's a Disney. Who is Gomez? What? Selena Gomez. She's a Disney girl. Gomez Adams. And then other top search terms on MySpace are Twilight, Jennifer Hudson, and Lil Wayne. And the boo donkeys. That's right. You can search stuff on MySpace? No, I don't know. What? Yeah, people are trying to get their MySpace page. Really? You know, you would think that, like, celebrities would want to have a Facebook or MySpace that's just for their friends. Do you think they do that and they go under weird names that no one knows? Yes. You do? Yes. Yeah, you know, and put, like, a picture up that's not them but people know, and then they go in there and they can see pictures of their family. For instance, let's say that Kate Winslet. she wanted to be on MySpace and share her life with her friends, right? And so she puts a picture of some black dude that's like in, you know, that's like, I don't know, does something in production for one of the movies she just made. Takes a picture of him, puts, okay, a white guy.
It works in production. Why can't he be Middle Eastern? Yeah. Okay. A Middle Eastern dissented gentleman. Why are you picking on Middle Easterners? You know, okay. A stranger. A stranger? Oh, now you hate strangers. Oh, really? You're a strangest. Strangest. You know what I'm saying? Do they do that, you think? Yes. I would say no. No? I disagree with you. I disagree with you. I think they do. Well, I'm right and you're wrong. I would think that they would want to have that kind of They would want to have a social networking thing. Especially the younger ones. Sky, how come you don't think so? Like Britney Spears. I think she wants to have a MySpace, but she doesn't want a bunch of people bugging her. Okay, like maybe Britney Spears, but not Kate Winslet. Yeah, yeah, Kate Winslet. You know, like mature stars, like people who've got their stuff together. I don't see them having MySpace because they're young. But she's on Facebook, I'll bet. Jenna Fisher, I bet, would. No, you think? No?
No question about it. What about Smiley Virus? Yeah, what about Smiley Virus? She's taking nudie pictures of hers. She's got some scandalous ones. Okay, what about Ann Curry? Interesting. What about former Giants left fielder Kevin Mitchell? Well, you stopped naming Giants players. That's a great question. What about Ashford and Simpson? I bet they want to have a life. What about Sam and Simpson? I can't. Okay. Fine. Moving on. What about President Garfield? Too soon? Oh. Too soon? Wow. Too soon? Wow. Okay. The monkey show continues. Thank you for being big enough to laugh at yourself this morning. Back east, they're getting ready to drop the ball for New Year's. So what? One love, one ring. Ladies and gentlemen, I want to tell you about BMW Encinitas because there's no other BMW dealership in San Diego County that I would go to except for BMW Encinitas. And the whys are all in the approach. And everything that the general manager down there, Brian Wood, has pretty much instituted since he started there at the beginning of the year. When he started there, we weren't where we are in the economy right now. And this guy was 100% committed to making BMW Encinitas the number one BMW dealership in San Diego County. And as the economy has started to get rougher and rougher, he is still continuing to pour into P1s and believe it in P1s. And it's paying off for them over at BMW Encinitas. If you would like to see yourself driving in a 2008 three-series vehicle that they've had in their loaner fleet, meaning that you go in there, drop your car off for service, they give you a loaner, those beautiful cars, their 08s, they're polishing them up, getting them all detailed, and they're leasing them out for $299, but it isn't going to last. It's only happening until the 31st.
And so get in there and get them. Take advantage of it while you can. BMW Encinitas is my BMW dealership, and you can find them on Encinitas Boulevard between the 5 and El Camino Real. Dude, Boston Rob. This is the time of year where I become OCD and have a lot of complexes because of my baseball team that plays. And act to be told what to do. The Mikey Show's on. I hate you guys. Rock 105.3. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It is 8.58. According to Aboriginal tradition, Nicole Kidman is now cursed after playing a didgeridoo while promoting her new movie, Australia. Okay.
Portland's Brandon Roy scored a career-high 52 points last night, the second-most points scored by a player this season behind Tony Parker's 55. You'll hear us say, a friend of ours is in the studio, and sometimes when we say a friend of ours, it's a friend of ours that is somebody that comes and talks on the show every once in a while. This is an actual friend of ours, somebody that we're actually friends with, that we've, how long have we known each other? 10, 15 years? 15 years. And she has one of the coolest jobs ever. And I have her come in here every year and tell our listeners about it. Because not only is it perfect for our listeners, but it's very, very me. And she knows that. I love it, love it, love it, love it, love it. And it's the San Diego International Auto Show. Did I get that correctly? You did. I'm so glad you didn't say car show. I know. I hate that. I know it. The auto show. The San Diego International Auto Show. I know. Stop it, Eddie. Eddie's rolling his eyes. I'm fine. Take it easy. Let me tell you. We're all friends here. Love you. They do this at the convention center. And it's on your birthday. It starts on your birthday. What a gift. My birthday's on New Year's Eve. It's a treasure. You have a party every year? Seriously. Everyone does. So you have to work on your birthday. Yeah, I do. But you'll have fun. It's fun. It's great.
It's later this year. Is it always on? It's always that last time frame, end of December, January. It was like I said the weirdest thing that was. She's like, what? It's in December, but earlier in December. When is it, Aime? No, it's actually always the last. No, it's not the correct date, sir. It is always the last Wednesday through Sunday at the end of December. Okay. Oh, sorry. I ruined everything. The 31st to what? December 31st through January 4th. Okay, cool. Cool. Now, the auto show is cool. Here's the idea. They take all the coolest cars on planet Earth and stick them in the convention center. And you get to go there. And I think of it like meeting them. Like, seriously, to me, they're celebrities because I get all I get all the car magazines. I get automobile. I get car and driver. I get road and track. I get Beamer magazine. I love cars. I love them. And so you get Beamer magazine.
He loves his heritage. It's a whole different thing. And then I also get Beamer magazine in addition to Beamer magazine, and it's really great. No, but all these cars to me are like famous people because they're... In these magazines all the time. He shakes their fender and smacks their bumper. I do. I'm like, oh, look at you. Can I get a high five, BMW 7 Series? Oh, hi. Thank you. Yeah, like the new 7 Series is going to be out there, which we haven't seen in America yet. And a lot of these you haven't seen. Thank you. Thank you. I like to play the leader. Thank you. The car of the year in a couple of magazines was the Nissan GTR, which is the... Fattest, coolest car. Fat with a pH? Yeah, with a pH. Zeth, you saw one, right? Yeah. Like when they first came off the line, it was awesome. I've only seen one in San Diego. I saw one at the Flower Hill Mall. And it's just an awesome, awesome sports car. Awesome! A very, very powerful, fast sport car. Absolutely.
Ashton Martin is going to be out there. Oh, he's the guy that did Punk'd? Yep. A different guy. A trucker hat. You guys. That's Ashton Kutcher. That's Ashton Martin. You guys. Weird. I'm so confused. That Ashton Martin is actually that DBS that was in the Quantum of Solace movie. Dude. You know the car that got all banged up and shot up in the beginning of Quantum of Solace? That's going to be out there. That car. Well, not that exact car. You'd think they'd want a nice one out there. James Bond. He's going to be out there? No, he's not. There it is. Now, Aime, what about people that are really into green cars? Like Skye calls herself a greenie weenie. She says, I'm a greenie weenie. She's always saying that. She does? Yeah, doesn't she always say, hey guys, I'm a greenie weenie. Constantly says it. Screams it at the top of her lungs. Do they have green cars out there? You know, we're not into it. No, I'm kidding. Don't lie.
We expanded the Eco Center, which is dedicated. It's 40,000 square feet this year. So it is dedicated to all the eco-friendly new technologies and some cool stuff, too. Yeah, you should have seen how much I nerded out. Like last year when I went, I actually came home and made a chart. Did you go? Yeah, I went and I took notes of like every car of every like hybrid. And then I came home and made a chart based on like price and, you know, mile per gallon. You're really sad. It was really cool to sit in that fat Lexus that has, you know, all the horsepower was a hybrid. Yeah, that's cool. And the cool thing about this show, too, is you can come down and everything's there. I mean, new models. concept cars, hybrid cars, and it's a non-selling environment. So you can get in these cars and you can take in the new car smells, kick the tires. They're not trying to sell them to you. They're not selling cars out there. It's just you go out there and look at them. Yeah, but you can ask the people who work for the company all the questions without having to worry about them pressuring you to buy something. And you can sit on them too. You can sit in them. You can take pictures. They encourage that. Can you sit on them? Can you sit on them?
Well, Ashley, I'm sure, could do a remake of the Whitesnake video. That's exactly what I was thinking. That's so weird. Ashley, you're so pitted. Why don't you give us a couple of seconds of Here I Go Again by Whitesnake. Do you know the song I'm talking about? Yeah. Give us some. Wow. On the spot? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, I turned the mic off. I turned the mic off. It was starting out. Was that right? I loved it. It didn't go the way I thought it was going to go. Was that what you wanted? No. Was that good? It was the right song. It's just not what I wanted. I think it's a showstopper. It's like sour. I think that that is an attention grabber, and I just think we increased our attendance. Yeah, for sure. Well, you are welcome. It's like pop rocks if pop rocks were droppings. Wait, what? That's what I was thinking. Now, wait a sec. You can also ride in Dries. There are some manufacturers that are doing that. You can do that Toyota truck. Toyota behind the wheel where you can go off-roading and there are trucks on all the obstacle courses behind the convention center. It's very cool. I'm going all four days. No, come on. I did last year. I went all four days. Remember when we gave Jake a media badge? Yes. He was like, less than a year. It's like a candy store for you. Yeah, I go all four days.
I'll be in there, and I'll be in there for like five hours, and I go, I should go. I should go. And then I'll be in there another hour, and I'm like, I'm a pretty sad guy. You know, I've been in here six hours. You're not making charts and graphs. Yeah, and then I'm... Hey, how can you compare things if you don't make... Not you. So what did you conclude? So, Sky, what did you conclude? That I love my beach car. That's right. So I decided... Guzzle, guzzle, guzzle. What does I say? Not as I do. What I concluded was that I love the Viper. Yes. Shut up. I'll tell you what I concluded. I like 10 cylinders, baby. Yes, deal with it. That's what I concluded. Top of the charts. That's right. Well, what I concluded last year from my chart. Gasoline.
Is that for the price and for the mile per gallon, the Prius was the best deal for me. But they've come a long way since last year. A lot has changed. So I'm interested to make a new chart this year and see what it tells me. What? How else are you going to compare? I'm impressed. What day is the lost cast showing up? No, Eddie. That's a different convention. Different convention. Totally different. What about data? Stop pimping out other events. Focus on the auto show. It's the only thing that matters. It's my bread and butter, Eddie. I thought we were friends. I'll be there. You won't be there, will you? How dare you say that? God, I hate you. I'm sad right now. I want you to be there. Will the Batmobile be there? Yes. Oh, then I'll be there. No, it won't. What's the website? Can I look at it right now? The website is sdautoshow.com. There's features posted. You get your VIPE tickets, the most important thing. Oh, yeah. It's a cheap ticket. I mean, you know, it's tough times out there. So you can go get a ticket for $10.
You kind of have to be able to do it to not know how to get a discount coupon. And family day, Mazda family day. Kids 12 and under getting free. Awesome. And Iron Man and Spider-Man are going to be there. Eddie, hello. Hello. Pay attention. For real? For real. Yeah. Live. Awesome. Live. What day? Sunday, January 4th. For real? Yeah. I'll write that down. Iron Man and Spider-Man. I just got the floor plan. I just got the floor plan. I did. I just downloaded the floor plan. Where's the green center? Did they put it in the back again this year? Oh. Because it should be in the front, Amy. I agree. I really do agree. I will work on that for next year. We'll rearrange the floor plan. Oh, dude, this is awesome. What Spider Pig does. No. No, not Spider Pig. That's different. Spider Pig does. Did she just sing Spider Pig? I'm not going to lie. Oh, this is awesome. What about... Listen to this. Listen to what we have here. Mike, you're missing some good stuff because you're geeking out right now. He's like drugged in on his computer screen right now. Your eyes are glazed a little. Oh, I'm loving this. I actually don't know what that is. Aston Martin, Jaguar, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Cadillac. Now you go. Infinity. And beyond. Oh, this is cool.
Do you know if they're going to have the Audi that they use? Have you seen the movie Iron Man? Iron Man? No, but... Why not? What's the Audi? I know. I want to see it. It's not the R8, is it? No. I think it's the Audi 5000. It's the new one, the supercar. Yep. Yeah. I forget what it was. It's going to... Oh, there it is. Oh, no. Oh. A weapon. It's called the R8. Yes. It's the car that Iron Man drove. And the R8 will be there? The R8 will be there. Look at this car. Tell me this is not a cool car. The Audi R8. That is sick. That's not real. I think Lauren from the Hills just got that car. That's gross. Don't tell me that. Rampage Jackson has one. Don't tell me that. Rampage drives an R8? Yeah. Did he slam it into anybody yet? No, that's just the monster truck. With his face on it? No, not yet. Got to wait for the vinyls to come back. Some very cool cars, and I love that you're going to be out there all four days. You know more than I do. I'm telling you, Aime, I love this thing. I love the auto show. It starts the 31st, and it goes through Sunday, January 4th. And, yeah, that Sunday is a kid's day, right? That's family day.
So it's fun to take the kids out there. And it's cheap tickets, too. It's like $10. And kids 12 and under getting free with a paid adult on Family Day. Mazda Family Day. Thank you, Mazda. Sunday, January 4th. Dealers. Very cool. Did I forget anything? Oh, sure. No, you do it better than anyone else. Thank you. I hope you guys all come down. I brought some tickets for your listeners. A cool stash. So I hope you guys come on down. Thank you. Very cool. I do love all of you very much. Happy holidays. And we will do it up in 09. There it is. Be right back. You know, earlier we were talking about David Copperfield's assistant getting hurt because they were playing around
foot fan and uh you really do have to be careful when you're around sharp things now it's time for the youtube clip of the day as uh you'll see in this clip now we do put these clips on mikeyshow.com so after you hear them you can see them and this was one of those uh moments and it's you know it's funny qvc's actually had a few of these moments where stuff happens that absolutely isn't supposed to happen And I got to say, man, QVC, they sell pretty much everything. And what are we talking here, Sean? A sword, right? It's a Japanese katana blade. It's kind of like a samurai sword. That sounds dangerous. Now, listen, my brother has a samurai sword, my brother Mark. And the reason that he has it is because he's a collector of, you know, rare... kind of World War II type stuff, I'm wondering what someone would want with a new samurai sword. Like, you know what I mean? I could tell you a thing or two. Oh, no. You got some ideas, man. Oh, yeah? What? Well, rushing for 2,000 yards for the buffalo. First of all,
Good idea. Definitely do that with it. Second of all, you always bring that up OJ6. Yeah, it's called cutting through the secondary, man. That's right. Every time we talk to you. You ever play Russian Swordette? That's right, dude. On the game. Yeah, you spin the chamber and then you jab the sword, man. That's exactly what it is. That's right. Sometimes it don't go off. And then other times the host pretends he didn't just hear with double over the top OJ6. You know what I'm saying? Man, that was definitely double, wasn't it? Not moderate. Little much, little much. Yeah, little. Little was two weeks ago, man. Anyway. So in this clip, they're selling a samurai sword. And the dude wants to sort of show everybody how strong the metal is on the sword. And so the way that he's going to do it is he's going to... bang it against the table, okay? And you would think that the real durable and heavy, you know, steel would not break. Although, this time, you know, you guess he just hit it right at that certain spot where it's able to break. Must have hit a knot. Yeah, he must have hit a knot in there. But the problem is, is that as the blade breaks, it spins back and it stabs him in the arm. Get out of here. Get out of here. Go ahead, Sean.
11-01-18-16 is the item number on this one. And the nice thing about these practice katanas, that hurt big time. A piece of that tip just got me, Odell. Now listen to the recovery from Odell here. A piece of that tip just got me. Now he's out of the frame. We may need emergency surgery in the studio. Odell, uh... Just a suggestion. Listen, I'm not a professional, but you might try surgery at the hospital. It's emergency surgery. But in the studio, I mean... You gotta do it where it's needed. Okay, but this is the studio that QVC is... Somebody go down the hall and get me a couple of shamwows to clean up the place.
Hey, we sell everything. We got a surgeon. You got that magic putty? Yeah. That sucker right up. Dude. Wow. It's almost as good as the people that were doing the ladder. Oh, I love that one. They're doing a ladder that the whole purpose of the ladder is that it's safe and you won't fall off it and the guy falls off it. So funny. It's the craziest thing in the world. So that is on our website. I got to go look at that. I have to see that. Hurry up, Sean. MikeyShow.com. Listen to this from Boston Rob's yesterday email. After boxing, went out with my fiance, got some dinner. At the pizza place, we got dinner and someone left two slices on the table next to us. I almost took them home. No. But my fiance was embarrassed and ashamed of me. I don't blame her. Wow. I just wanted two free slices of pizza. They might have been sitting there for a while, but they still looked fine to me. Oh, Rob. What? Then, in one of the stores I was shopping in, I broke a glass piece in the store on accident. I was trying to show my fiance something. I offered the lady money, but she said that she had had worse happened, and I felt wicked bad.
You are a clown. It's a good thing. If she caught my bluff, I would have had a run. He's literally a bull in a china shop. Well, there was like these little salt and pepper shakers or ornaments or something. There was like a set of them. Salt and pepper ornaments. I don't know. It was something stupid. And they were like pugs. Like with sweaters. Yeah, there was like puggles with sweaters on. And they were these glass things. And I picked one up, didn't know it was, like, connected. It was, like, $15 for the set. So it was, like, $7.50. And you would have had to run for $15. I was like, I feel so bad. I didn't mean to drop it. I didn't know they were, like, connected. Yeah. Or touching each other. And, you know. Don't call the helicopter, please. It was full. So as soon as you hear that glass hit the ground, everyone stopped. Oh, man. No. I'm sure your fiancé wasn't embarrassed of you. I turned around and she was gone. I'm like, where did she go with you? Sarissa! Sarissa! Go get my pizza. And what made it worse is I had the hiccups for like three hours last night. Oh, dude, you are nuts. What is the matter with you, man? I get the hiccups and they're wicked loud. I can't get rid of them.
He is the most embarrassing guy in the world. Yes. Yes. They should make a commercial about him. I kept having a chaser. I am the most embarrassing man in the world. I don't drink beer often, but when I do, I'm embarrassing. Yes. That's awesome. We were at the gate in San Diego waiting to get on the plane to go to Las Vegas, and this kid walks up and says, are you Boston Rob? No. And he goes, yeah, yeah. And he goes, can I have your autograph? It was like the mean Joe Green scene in the Coke commercial. So yesterday, Rob's at Walmart. And he's Christmas shopping. And one of the guys that works there asked him. Is the dollar store closed? I knew that was coming. Couldn't avoid it. So he goes into the Walmart. And he gets recognized by a guy that works there. And the guy asks if he could take a picture of Rob, takes a picture of Rob, develops it in two minutes, and has Rob autographed it. Dude, it shocked me. Because I was talking with one of the electrical guys there, whatever it is, about some of the televisions. And this other guy, not buying one, I was just browsing. I was asking him to change the channel. I said, my stories are on it.
Could you switch that to the Barefoot Contessa, please? Oh, that got Rob upset. That one got him. I need to learn how to make mistakes. Shut up. I'm going to learn. After the show. Dude, did you have to say the Barefoot Contessa? Come on, man. Take everything but Barefoot Contessa. So me and that dude are rapping for like 10 minutes, and the whole time there's this other worker there that I thought he wanted. to say something to like help me out you know what i mean because he kept he had that like look like i want to tell you something i want to tell you something just literally standing next to us not contributing to the conversation nothing finally i finish up with that guy and i'm like all right you know whatever start to walk away and he's like let me take a picture with you so i was like yeah dude that's cool he snaps a picture on his phone mind you
So after that, I'm like, oh, yeah, it was nice meeting you. Thanks for listening. Walk away. I'm waiting in line. Now, this is maybe like five minutes later because I just walked from the TV area to the front, and I was going to pay for my stuff. I'm waiting in line, and all of a sudden, the guy comes out of nowhere with the picture developed. I bet I know how he did it. And I was like, how did you? Did he tell you? No, he didn't. I think I know how. They have this cool thing, this Polaroid deal, and it's... It's almost about, I don't know, like about a 5x7? 3x5? Anywhere between... 4x6, Mike. Anywhere there. Somewhere, I can't... You know, it's a number. I'm like, uh... John, what's his name? Edwards. Zara. I'm like the psychic John. What's his name? Can she give me half a break over here? I'm working as hard as I can. I'm working as hard as I can. Eddie, I'm trying to make a living over here. So anyway, you plug your phone into it. You plug your phone into this little thing and it's got little film strips in there. You print them right off. No way. Dude, they're cool, man.
And Polaroid just filed for Chapter 11. Ten bucks, sir. So can I have this then? All right. So are we on time? Are we on time? About five, ten minutes. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. Skye, what movies are coming out? Let's see. We got three new movies to wide release today. We have Seven Pounds with Will Smith. What is it? He's an IRS agent with a secret who embarks on a journey of redemption. Is that like a journey through time or something? No. How come one time it looks like it's 1960 and one time it looks like it's 2008? Yes. See? You know what I'm saying? Exactly. This guy's over here and this guy's over there and then this guy's like, I don't know what to do. This guy says that Michael Corleone said this and Michael Corleone said that. And I was like, yeah, sure. Yeah, this is actually a remake. It is? Of four pounds, but it gained three pounds. The first movie was about the day after Thanksgiving and the poop he took. Oh, wow. Really? I had no idea. Are you proud of yourself? I'm proud of you. No, I do not believe him.
Oh, man. This is all too good to be true. I was like, that's got to be in Guinness Book. It is crazy. That's wacky. They did a whole film about it. No, that's not true. It's not true. That's really disgusting. Whatever. It's fine. Also out this weekend, The Tale of Despero. He's a little mouse. Oh. That is a cartoon, right? No, it's a documentary. Cut 36. Let's listen to the documentary. It's a documentary. Can you promise you finish your story and tell me how it ends? Oh, they sound like they're acting. It will be my quest. Your quest. You are a very brave mouse. Thank you, my good gentleman. This is really cool. This is a documentary about a talking mouse. Yeah, well, Mike, again, actually, this is a remake. It is. Loved it the first time when it was called Ratatouille. Ratatouille's nothing like this. Thank you. Dustin Hoffman's in it? Isn't that true? It says Dustin. I know he was in Kramer vs. Kramer. Oh, yeah, baby. How dare you? Yes. Wow. That's a great film, by the way. That's a really good movie. I didn't see that one coming. You guys. Cut 34.
I don't like it. You don't go to work every day on these things. They call you, and you do about four hours. It goes over two, three years. And then they call you back later on, and they've redone it, and they want to do it over, or they do this. But being in a room and doing that, no, I don't like it. I want to learn how to do Dustin Hoffman, because he has this cadence. You know, and he does it in all his movies. It's like a very particular thing where, you know, he does this thing and he starts to, you know, it gets like this. I don't like it. You don't go to work every day on these things. They call you, and you do about four hours. It goes over two, three years. And then they call you back later on, and they've redone it, and they want to do it over, or they do this. But being in a room and doing that, no, I don't like it. I'm sure the movie people appreciate that. No, I don't like it at all. I hated this movie. Sorry, I did it. So much.
Totally regret it. And then finally, also out this weekend in wide release, is Yes Man with Jim Carrey. Yeah, that looks good. I apologize. I think it looks good, too. Yeah, it looks funny. Made me laugh watching the trailer. Looks terrible. Oh, man. I thought it looked darling. Cut 28. I'm having a little get-together at my place. It's a funny hat and or wig party. Oh, man. Sucks I'm going to be out of town. You don't know what day it is. When is it? Friday. I'm out of town. You spoke at the same time I did just then. It's almost like you were committed to saying what you were saying regardless of what I was going to say. That made me laugh. That made me laugh. That's the guy who plays Murray from Flight of the Conchords. You can see that on HBO. Oh, wow.
Flight of the Concoys, we play their music. Great show. Jim Carrey says that he can relate to this guy. Cut 26. Mostly just, I go in and out of shut-in. I mean, I go back and forth, you know, so it's just kind of, you know, a seesaw effect. You know, sometimes I get real busy, and all I want to do is hide when I get home. You know, and sometimes I'm not so busy, and I want to reach out to friends and stuff. So I'm different things, but I understand this character, definitely. He said, I was listening to a clip of him that we don't have, unfortunately. Act it out. He said, I actually do say yes to everything, and sometimes it gets me in trouble. I've said yes to sex change. I've said yes to gastric bypass surgery. I've said yes to a lot of things in my life. Okay, so we got to take a break? Okay, we'll be right back. Attention. You said you were taking me out for a steak dinner. Uh, this is steak. From Carl's Jr. Yeah, it's a sirloin steak sandwich. I thought we were going out to a fancy restaurant. Well, I could take you to an expensive steakhouse, but do you know what that would say about our relationship? It would say that we don't have confidence in our feelings for each other. I hope you don't think I'm stupid enough to buy it. It was worth a shot, right? Right. Do you want to pass me over my soda? Here you go. The Charbroiled Steak Sandwich, new at Carl's Jr. for limited time participating restaurants. Is this Ryan? Yeah, this is Ryan. Ryan, what's the deal? You went to Amco? Yeah, actually, I took your advice. Last week, my check engine light came on, and I heard the radio ad yesterday morning on the way to work, and I went to the Mission Boards location, and Nick hooked it up. He found out that my number three spark plug wasn't firing, so I told him, hey, you know, I can fix that myself, but I told him... You know, even though he wasn't able to do the service on my truck, that he has my service down the road for when my transmission goes out. Because he did that for free, right? Yeah, he did it for free. See, I mean, how can you not respect that? You didn't end up having, and most people, they would have charged you just to tell you that. And then, you know what I mean? And now that guy's got a customer for life. And that's basically what Amco's philosophy is. Amco diagnoses you for free, just like this guy. It's double A-M-C-O. Hey.

Thanks. Let's see. 570-1053. We're going to get out of here on time. And Eddie and Skye are doing some funsies today. What are you guys doing? Kind of random, but her and I are playing in a celebrity charity. Celebrity in finger quotes. Poker tournament up in Valley View Casino. It starts at noon today if you want to do it out there. Who else will be there? I have no idea. I didn't even know why they invited us. I was surprised we even got an invite. Come out to Valley View. All the action starts at noon and we'll be there playing cards. That's cool. That's very cool. I'm playing for the Escondido Humane Society and Eddie is playing for Rady's Children's Hospital. Is that what you get to pick? That is cool. Love it. That's really cool, man. I'm going to win it. I think I'm going to win it. You have no chance. I got a great chance, okay? Wow. I only hope that you guys are at the same table at some point. Final table. See you there. See you there. I will see you there. I will see you there. Now, this would be so interesting to me because they've played poker with each other a lot. And I want to say I think Eddie would know Sky better.
But then I say she would know that he knows and she would try to change. But I'll know that she knows that I know that she'll change. And then you'll play that. And then something. So, Eddie, does Scott have any tells? Does she have any tells? Yes. Does she do anything? Yeah, she does, actually. First of all, she goes to the mall. Yes. She starts eating ham. Get ready for ham. When she's bluffing. Sometimes when she's bluffing, she drives around in a circle. When she has a good hand, she goes, money! Yes, she does do that. That's a tell. Right when I know she's about to get knocked out, she's like, Mom, come pick me up. Okay, that's really, Chad. Last in 08. Last in 08. No. No. There is a... Friends in 09. Eddie is declaring friends in 09. Yep. Already? Yep. P1 Lindsay, are you there? Yes. Lindsay has a birthday tomorrow, and she has a special... Oh, a birthday. Special request.
Ashley, would you please sing happy birthday to me? Oh, please. Why? Honor and a pleasure. It's your birthday. What did you want to ruin your own birthday? It's going to make it terrible. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear Lindsay. There it is, Lindsay. Happy birthday. That's a better Joker impression than her other one. Thank you, Lindsay. Thank you, guys. You have a nice Christmas. You, too. You, too. You have a nice Christmas. No, you. You, too. P1AO. Yo. What's up, AO? Oh, man, you know, posted like a stamp. You did. Bye, man. How are you?
Oh, man, you know, I'm hanging out like a hubcap in a fast lane, putting the paint where it ain't. I'm real good. Oh, man, that was good. That's what I'm talking about. That was good. I feel you, dog. Hey, appreciate that, brother. Appreciate that, brother. What's up, what's up? I'm black and I'm proud. Yeah, that, you believe that. You hear that? Oh, I believe that. You hear that three times a minute. That's what I'm saying. What was that? Oh, wow. That didn't work. You're just way too white for me, homeboy. So, EO, what can we do you for? What's the word? Oh, man, you know, the word is the word. It is what it is around the block. But I got a quick question for Sean. Excuse me, not Sean. Mike, I got a question for you. What up? What up, dude? Hey, so what's going on with Sean TV? Homie, I didn't get to hear that this week. What happened with Sean TV? They're busy. I guess we, yeah, it may have gotten bumped. That's cold. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cold as ice. It may not be that. It may not be back. It may not be back. I cannot guarantee that that will be back. It'll be back. We'll see what happens in 09. Sean in 09. Listen, if we can get a real show, if we can have him take it seriously for one second, then maybe it will be back. What is that supposed to be? That means if you're not insolent, then yes, it will be back.
You obey. Thank you. Good. Thank you, AO. See, that's what we mean. This is what I am talking about. Nobody wants it. What are you talking about? It's Banachek and nobody cares. Get your Banachek out of here. It's a great show. It is not a great show. I've got a couple clips planned for you right now. We're good. We are good off that. You can turn this thing off. There you go. Okay. That's terrible. Thank you. Let's see. P1 Bravo is on the line. Bravo, you there? Yeah, yeah, I'm here. What's up? Hey, Eddie, I just wanted to see if you could sing happy birthday for me. My birthday's on New Year's. What do you think, Eddie? I don't want two. I don't want two. Hold on, guys. I think you meant Ashley. I don't do the scene. He said Eddie. I heard the Cheds. I think he did say Eddie. Yeah, Chedward. There it is. On the three end. Happy birthday to you. Keep going. Happy birthday. Get into it. To you. He's getting more into it as he goes along. Happy birthday. See, it feels good, doesn't it? Dear Bravo. I said a happy birthday. Oh, yeah. To you. Pulled it. Pulled it.
I wonder who this is on the line. What up, what up? What's up, Philly's Finest? What's up? Going home to Philly for the first time in two and a half years. Oh, got to hit up Geno's, buddy. Oh, yeah. Geno's? Come on, Mike. Wow, Eddie is a local. How come you can name a city and Eddie will tell you a place in that city? That is true. All the way down to Hemet. Yeah, you say Hemet. Guy knows where the gas station is. Great Del Taco. That's so weird. It's amazing. It really is a talent. Hemet. What's going on?
I was heading home. Wanted to see if anybody wanted me to get anything. I already got Eddie on the list. So anybody else? Rob, Duncan? Nice cheap. How about a Dunkin' Donuts? How about a World Series ring, Rob? Well, he's already got a couple of those. Eddie? Oh, no. I'm sorry. No. I'm sorry. I'm good, man. How about a Mark Teixeira? Love one of those. Can you find those in Philly? Wait a minute. You're going to be in Philly? That's right. Get Ashley a beret. I was done. I didn't need one. Oh, yeah. Mike couldn't find me one in New York, so that would be really awesome, Philly. Perfect. If you're going to be in Philly, I mean, he might as well. I get it. Might as well. Please. Hey, man. If you're in Pittsburgh, can you get us a Cape? Since you're there. Since you're there. I will see what I can do. Cape City, right? The old city by the beret. Thank you, Philly's Finest. We appreciate it. We've got to get out of here. We're going to be gone for a couple of weeks. We'll be back on January. That's right. Merry Christmas. It's going to be nice.
Happy New Year. Are we all going out of town? Nope. Eddie's staying. I'm staying here. I'm here. There you go. Want to come over? You know it, dude. I will be there. Okay. I rescind that. Yeah, he's going to go there with like a Halloween bag. Can you put the tortillas in there? Every Friday when we take off, I give you my testimony. I tell you what my story is. And I give you a little bit about... My past and hopefully when I do that, there's something in it that you hear that you can relate to. That you can either relate to now or maybe even that you know somebody that can relate to it. And if you do, then I'd love to send you to my website. I call it the help page. Let's go to MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W. And when you get there, there's a little keyword section. You click in that and you type in the word help and it'll take you to it. I was talking to somebody the other day, my past, my history. And there's some parts of my past and my history that I know have to be hard for my mom and dad to hear. Because as parents, man, you never want your kids to be hurt. You love your kids. You never want them to be hurt. And at the same time, I know that there's a bigger picture.
to me telling you my story. When I was real little, when I was five years old, I was sexually abused. When I think about my own son, who's two and a half years old, I can't imagine it. I know that there's a lot of people that are listening right now that that's happened to. Is that events that happen in our lives, they make us feel a certain way. Even though we may not say it, we may still feel it inside. And when I was growing up, I felt worthless. If you had asked me, At the time, do you feel worthless? I would not have said yes. And I don't even know that I would have made a conscious connection whether or not I did. But I know now I did. Found drugs and alcohol. I found this way to escape all that. But what I didn't know was how it would always make me feel and create an even lower side of me and make it worse. And I didn't know it.
I didn't know that it was making it worse. I had feelings of insecurity when I was growing up. I had feelings that if anybody knew what my real story was, they would think I was disgusting. I kept it a secret. And every time I was drunk, I thought I was a little bit further away from that. Like it was a radio signal and I was driving out of town. It was like it was faint. Every time I sobered up, it was like I was driving back into town. There are people listening right now that, because you'd like to, but you can't. You've tried and you can't. There are people that are listening right now. I suspect people that are listening right now that have just lost somebody. Really, really important to them. They're listening right now that are going through really, really hard financial times. There are people that are listening that you may feel as worthless as I felt. You may feel like there is no hope for you. Because if anybody really knew the true story, realize that there's just no hope for you. I think that God chose me.
to go through a lot of the experiences that I went through so that I can, today, December 19, 2008, I could be on the radio and tell you, if he took that guy and made him into somebody new, he can do it to you too. I didn't have any hope in my life. I used to have no hope. I used to feel hopeless. Jesus Christ into my life. I meant it. I wasn't kidding. I wasn't just saying it. I meant it. I needed it. Sometimes, I have heard in my life that feel that Christianity is a crutch. I never used to have that in my life. I was hopeless. All kinds of stuff in my life. If you're listening and you feel hopeless, I want you to know. Invite Jesus Christ into your life. You don't have to feel hopeless. Jesus doesn't have a website and his birthday's coming up. I won't be back until the first of the year. And so I always try to make the last broadcast before his birthday. I try to make it really cool.
and give big ups to him. I go to a church called North Coast Church, and it's really awesome. They play really cool music, and I really love the style of this church. And if there's anybody listening that doesn't have a place to go, I'd like to suggest it. They have a website, and it's northcoastchurch.com, and they're in North County. They don't ask me to do it. They've never asked me to do it. I do it because I feel when I'm on the radio, and I'm shaking. Because I get real nervous when I do this on Fridays. But sometimes, not sometimes, every time when I'm doing this, it's always from God's spirit when I'm telling you this stuff. I know that because half the time I don't remember what I said afterwards. And so that's what I'm telling you about. Go in there if you need a place. I play this song on the end of the show on Fridays. And it's by a band called Third Day. And the song is called Tunnel. And I invite you to really listen to the lyrics of the song.
Because it's really, really inspirational for people that are in need of it. It's so, so cool. Really listen to the lyrics. I love you guys. Love my friends here. Have a great Christmas. Go see Eddie and Sky today. Valley View Casino. This is coming up next. We'll see you in the new year. Late.
